If every time
I thought of your name
a star fell for you
The sky would be empty
In mere hours
And when all the stars
Fell from the sky
I'd pick them back up
and use them to fill your eyes
You are more lovely
than any star
spinning, falling, or otherwise brilliant
you are the brightest star in the sky
and I hope you never lose your shine
I am enthralled by your words
Your thoughts drown me
in the most wondrous feeling
Floating amongst the stars
I have never felt more at home

Gravitational Guidance
The sea and the stars are in love.
Connected in endless ebbs and flows,
The ocean’s waves dance for the heavens
And the galaxies guide her sailors home.
They’re separated by years of light and
Infinite miles of cold empty space,
But together they reside forever
In a daydream’s warm and safe embrace.

I gaze at stars in summer night skies
At drawings of planets on brick classroom walls
They’ve been here so much longer than I
My life is a flicker, a blink of their eye.
I bask in cosmic insignificance on Thursday afternoons
Blood from cores of dying stars
Paints the water blue
Do you love me too?
When I stare at you,
Are you staring too?
Do the Gods of the sky
Ever turn their eye
To one so small in stature?
How could I hope for love to be cast
From the heart of a being as great and as vast
While I’m still unloved by my fellow man?
While on earth I’m a spark? A grain in the sand?
I wish I could be loved enough
To know such a love from a star
Caelum warm my frozen limbs
Antares kiss all my scars
But I sit here alone
In my tub of dying stars
I long for you peacefully
Love from afar

Riding among these cosmic stars
In these ships that were once cars
Drifting into this endless place
Trying to find my part among space
Sleepless nights following that dream
Nothing is quite what it would seem

i think i could fall in love with you for an eternity

the moon baffles my mind. i see her, sitting small and shining in the dark sky of the night, her kingdom. and yet what i see is but a fragment of her true might, her true glory, her true beauty. i cannot hold her in my arms, for she is no little marble, no, nor is she any size my human body could wrap itself around as i so wish to.
if i were to attempt, i'd reach no success greater than if i were to try to hold the earth i walk on. for she is similarly gargantuan, and blessed be she for it, for if she were smaller, i'd see her no longer from where i stand some hundreds of thousands of miles away.
am i a fool to continue dreaming?
would she be cold? would she burn my skin with the chill of space? or would she, just maybe, would she remain warm? glowing with the stolen warmth of the sun, would she allow the fruits of her harmless theft to kiss my fingertips?
further into this madness yet, could she love me too? could such a beauty adore what is naught but an ant to her, as that very ant adores her? the sun is nothing to me, but she, she is so much. could i ever hope to be something to the moon i love so dearly?

A poem I hastily wrote thinking about my partner
--
The cosmos, a mystery, so vast and grand, A glimpse of eternity, where dreams expand.
Black holes, mysterious, devouring all, Invisible giants where gravity's thrall.
As destructive and quiet this expanse may be, It's true there's beauty to behold and see.
By random chance and pure dumb luck, the universe smiled at me, awestruck.
It feels unreal to hold and ponder, but life seems to change, move, and wander.
I'm lucky and fascinated to have had this chance, to hold your hand, to kiss, and glance.
Stars are born to burn with light, just as much as we're made to die,
A birthplace of love, for living, and life, tucked away in eternal night
Beneath the starlit canopy we sway, in silent orbits, our souls find their way.
Our hearts aligned, like planets' graceful arc, in this cosmic dance, we leave our mark.
Your eyes, a galaxy, endless and bright, Reflect the constellations of our shared night.
We're drawn together, like moons to their sphere, A gravitational pull, whispering near.
Through cosmic storms and meteor rain, In your orbit, I'll forever remain.
In this astral dance, we're intertwined, A celestial bond, endlessly defined.

A Universe of My Own
Would you rather me die and waste away in the endless depths of decay
Floating around, never coming down
An astronaut of thoughts, a monster of emotions
Hiding out of space and time
Wanting to be loved
Wanting to be found
Not wanting to be found by you
A black whole swallowing my voice
Breaking my bones, stretching my skin
Clawing my way through the black whole
Not wanting to be lost
Wanting to be found
But inside a black whole, is freedom
Is another universe
One away from you
One of my own choosing
So thank you
Thank you for my universe
Birthed from your destruction

My Mercury.
My forgotten planet.
Scorched by his sun, from which he has no protection
Uninhabitable. desolate.

Supernova
I am starlight.
A visual clarity
In the darkest night.
A glow of temerity
So grand and so bright that
My fire consumes the universe.
Just watch me ignite.

SATURN
Tumblr media
Covered in thick clouds of orange and amber shade,
With its beautiful rings.
The beauty of Saturn can’t be contained,
And how can it be?
After all it was named after a Roman King.
With fifty-three moons orbiting around it,
It’s like a beautiful piece of painting in space
depicted.
It’s a giant gaseous planet,
With such huge moons and rings attached to it like a
magnet
It looks like a non-twinkling sight,
It is Saturn you are seeing tonight.

The stars twinkle in your eyes, I could watch them forever.
Your gaze unchanging, never a thought beyond what's in front of you.
Just you, me, and OUR stars.

Distance
Each night,
I whisper your name to the stars,
And wonder if my voice will ever reach you.
I find comfort in their light, yet...
Those bright orbs of fire,
They're already gone, aren't they?
By the time they reach my eyes,
They've long since burned out.
Our distance is formidable,
Marked by space and time.
The theory of relativity,
Energy, mass, and the speed of light.
How much will change within me
Until I can hold your hands in mine?
Will our crossed stars burn out?
Or will they collide?
A supernovae,
A black hole,
A neutron star.
I ask the stars,
"How much hope is there
For a love like ours?"
But they're long since gone.
My nightly soliloquy: audience of one.
