Choose a subtly magical item for your adventure:
A sword that never chips or grows blunt
A flint and steel that works first try every time
Boots that are always comfortable, and never fall apart
Socks that never get wet
A cloak that is always the perfect temperature
A bag that can fit a little more than it reasonably should be able to
Arrows that can never be lost or broken
A purse that can never be stolen
A compass that points to the nearest source of drinkable water

There's this show on Netflix called "OLD ENOUGH" where japanese toddlers are sent on simple errands to help their parents and you get to see their little adventures. That show is just so wholesome.

"In the ensuing months, Goodall didn’t tell many people that she planned to sail the Golden Globe. When it did come up, she dreaded a particular question: What made her think she was capable of sailing around the world alone? She had no response to this. It was true that the farthest she’d sailed single-handed was four miles across the Solent, a strait between the Isle of Wight and mainland Britain. Still, she knew she was a strong sailor and could cope with being alone.
In truth, that she didn’t know whether she’d make it was part of the reason she wanted to try. She wasn’t content to merely read about the size of the Southern Ocean’s waves, the ferocity of its wind. She wanted to feel those forces, face them on her own. Only then would she know what she was capable of.”
In this excerpt from @atavist‘s newest feature, “Alone at the Edge of the World,” Cassidy Randall tells the incredible story of Susie Goodall’s attempt to sail around the globe — and navigate the media’s gendered coverage of her voyage at the same time.
