Can I request the dorm leaders reacting to their s/o pointing their finger at the first years (specifically ace and deuce but it'll be funny if the rest of them are included) and being like

'ya know these nuisances are the reason why I'll probably die early before I even get married to you one day'

"W-Well surely you do not mean what you say—

Ace! Deuce! Cease your trouble-riddled acts or it's off with your heads!

And no I'm not saying this to prolong your life so we can get married!"

Acts cool and composed but his red face contradicts it all. If these nuisances were to be the cause of what you said, then they certainly must be taught a lesson!

"Oh? I didn't think you'd be that weak to have surrendered yourself to these herbivores.

though if you were to make reality what you just said, I might take it back— not that I have any once of faith in it anyways"

Oh he has a lot of faith you'll make it reality, and of course he's not one to voice off his own thoughts, so he settles for a small glare given to the 1st years as they shudder.

"You wouldn't mind binding your words to this marriage contract now would you?

Leaving out the part of you dying of course. A shame it would be to this contract if that were to ever happen you know."

He gave you the piece of paper as a joke, heck it wasn't even a real contract, but he was surprised when you actually signed the thing. Time to make it authentic then.

"Please don't die just yet because of them! If you do then how will we ever get married?"

"Don't worry, I'll be making preparations for when the time comes, so i hope you can handle your 1st year friends with care ti'll then"

You can't tell if he said that seriously or as a joke due to his firm laugh, but unbeknownst to you he really did mean what he said, like he really really meant it.

"I'd appreciate it if you were to not die here in my presence

but this marriage you speak of can surely be arranged, so I hope you're willing to wait for me when the time comes"

The guy looks so neutral you aren't sure how to respond, but vil himself also doesn't know how to respond to what he said, so ya'll stayed there standing while looking each other lovingly in the eye

"Ngl I have to agree, if anything they'd already be escorting you to your death bed-

WAIT! d-did I hear you correctly? surely not! you shouldn't say such things that still have the slightest possibilities of becoming true!

He doesn't know why he's scolding you, but just know he's doing it with a touch of pink dusting his face and the ends of his flaming hair as he scurries off mumbling to himself.

"Quite the bold claim you've made child of man

Although I shall be ensuring what you say becomes reality, I'm hoping you can live long enough to walk down that aisle."

He knows you're not weak to just die because of some trouble making 1st years. Becomes more protective of you while giving the 1st years a close eyed smile with a menacing aura surrounding him.

I was going to do a text post of a sterek incorrect quote;

Derek: I have the urge to do something stupid.

Stiles: I’m stupid. Do me.

But a different idea struck me, and I had to write out a little scene.

Derek sat in the armchair, the light from the window bleeding over his shoulder and illuminating the pages of the book that lay open in his lap. He let out a deep breath, shutting the book and blurting out, “I have the urge to do something stupid.”

“I’m stupid. Do me,” Stiles replied without thought, not taking his eyes off the screen of his laptop that was balanced precariously on his stomach as he lay upside down on the couch.

Stiles froze, his eyes widening as he realised what he’d said. His cheeks flushed red, but he wasn’t sure if it was from embarrassment or from the blood rushing to his head.

“What?” Derek said, his tone stretched thin and edged with anger.

Stiles opened his mouth to say something but the words died on his lips as he sputtered and shrugged as if trying to brush it off.

“Stiles, you are not stupid,” Derek growled.

Stiles blinked rapidly, stunned by Derek’s words.

Derek continued without hesitation, “You’re one of the smartest people I know. Clumsy and uncoordinated, yes, but not stupid. Don’t say that; don’t even think it! You’re not stupid, Stiles, and I don’t ever want to hear you call yourself stupid again. And I wouldn’t do you; that’s just—”He screwed his face up in disgust. “—ugh. No. No way. You deserve better than do. Dear god, I would make love to you. I would hold you in my arms and Melt as I feel the warmth of your body against mine. I trace the curves of your naked body and utter your name like a prayer. I would kiss you until I had no more breath in my lungs, and even then, I wouldn’t dare stop. I would not do you.”

He huffed out an angry breath as he sat back.

Stiles stared at him, his eyes wide and a dumbfounded expression on his face.

A moment later, Derek’s brain caught up with his mouth. Realisation hit him hard. A rush of heat coloured his cheeks bright red.

“I… I mean… I…” he stammered, unable to find any words.

Stiles stared at him, still looking like a deer caught in headlights. “Okay.”

Derek’s brow furrowed as he looked at Stiles, utterly confused.

“What?”

“Okay,” Stiles repeated.

“Okay?” Derek echoed questioningly.

“Okay,” Stiles said again.

They stared at each other for a moment, trying to make sense of what had just happened.

“Okay,” Derek said after a while.

They tore their eyes away from one another, their faces twisted with perplexed expressions as they processed what they had said.

Silence settled over them.

“You still got that urge?” Stiles asked abruptly.

Derek glanced back at him, meeting Stiles’s gaze. “What do you have in mind?”

Read "Suki, Alone". Liked it in general. But can they please, please hire someone who knows both the show's actual events and how to follow through on a character arc? Because guys. Guys. That comic is not implying about Suki what they meant it to be implying, and all because of literally one line.

So like. From a writer's standpoint:

What they meant to do: show Suki as a community-oriented person who cares for her people, and believes in everyone succeeding together.

As opposed to (spoilers): the thief girl they set her up in contrast with, who's pretty upfront and consistent on primarily looking out for herself. She betrays Suki for one (1) corn chip to improve her own life at the prison, no surprise.

But the problem is: they give Suki an inspirational line to the effect of "we're all working together and we'll all break out together"

You know

The thing she does not do in the show

So if both the show and this comic are canon, then instead of setting up a compare/contrast with the thief girl, they've just set up a comparison. One were Suki is arguably worse, because she's been leading a significant number of prisoners on with her "we'll all fight and win our freedom together!" business, only to straight up cut them out of the escape loop and abandon them, whereas the thief is only leading Suki on in the sense that Suki keeps telling her what it's morally correct to think and confuses snide replies with agreement

My dudes. My fellow writers. You people actually being paid for this. There were so many ways to fix those awful implications against our girl's character, the simplest of which would be to not include that line. Or they could have, you know, made it canon compliant with what actually happens in the show, so that this comic doesn't set Suki up as a betrayer instead of a community builder. Like... just send all her good prison buddies off to other prisons in the wake of the warden finding out they're colluding. Have it timed to be right before the next new prisoners arrive, thus setting it immediately before the Boiling Rock episodes, so Suki didn't have anyone left in the prison she'd want to take with her on a breakout. For bonus points, include a page or two of her and her Kyoshi warriors opening up the cell of one of her prison friends post-war, thus implying she's tracking down and actually fulfilling her promises. Maybe even show her doing the same with thief girl, who was established as being imprisoned on false charges anyway, and also showing that Suki is A) the bigger person, and B) willing to acknowledge her own role in mistakes (because I cannot emphasize enough how much thief girl was not hiding her own priorities, and it was Suki who approached HER with all this, not the girl ever doing anything special to weasel her way in) (this would also open up an opportunity for paralleling Suki's earlier in-comic mistake of not listening to one of her friend's very valid thoughts and feeling, which lead to the girl leaving their island alone pre-canon; a "seeing people as they are, not what you want them to be" moment)

Anyway yeah enjoyable enough for a quick read but another one for the "this can't be canon or the characters are So Much Worse than they were in the actual show" pile

At least Aang didn't promise to murder anyone in this one

#I also have minor critiques like #Why are all the guards drawn as short and noodly-armed as Sokka pretending to be a guard #Why are the guards the only ones allowed to have funny lines #Did anyone consider using a lack of dialogue in some panels to establish mood and let the visuals speak for themselves (no they did not)#Why is Azula villain monologuing for so long at the start #She does like her villain lines but in the show they're short #And generally aimed at fresh opponents #Not last week's old news #I kept wondering why Azula was even there instead of generic lackeys especially since she had to have been dealing with the conquest of #Ba Sing Se around then. big This Could Have Been An Email vibes #Also as a gardener #HOW FAST WERE THOSE PRISON PLANTS GOING TO SEED AND WHERE CAN I GET SOME #Apparently they needed minimal (almost no?) light and tiny cracks of space and were nutritious and tasted good raw and grew so fast they #Could substantially affect the diets of multiple prisoners within a short time span?#I WANT THEM IN MY INDOOR SETUP ASAP #Screw lettuce I want Suki's Magic Beans #avatar the last airbender #atla #Suki #There continue to be no comics in Ba Sing Se but this was a better attempt than some #Suki Alone
