This is my first time writing a hc so if you hate it or think it is cringe please let me know also might has spelling errors my grammar is sh!t

Little background info you are Clint’s daughter and these are hc when you heal Pietro after the battle of Ultron because I refuse to believe he died and this is him finding and falling in love with you

You didn’t bring him back to life the hospital did that but you do heal his wounds with the tech that Dr Helen Cho left after she was done with Clint

You have to undo his stitches and then put the tech over the wound to heal it, you had to tweak it a bit so that is is not a bed and can move around because let me tell you this boy was shot a lot, mainly the upper part of his body ( let’s get into the good stuff now )

Wanda does not fully know you yet and is not the most comfortable with you taking care of her brother

Pietro also barley knows you like a week ago you wanted the other dead sooo

Tony gave to a spare lab for you to work in and that is the room Pietro sleeps in, he sleeps in a hospital bed

After the first couple of days you realize that he is a morning person, and if you are not you have to set an alarm for you to get up because you have to get him food

You always buy him his breakfast and you guys eat it together

Because this boy just met you he asks you all about yourself, your past, how to got to work with SHIELD

So naturally you start asking about Wanda and his past and how he fells about the team

He is SOO FUNNY especially when he is numb when to take out his stitches

Wanda goes to training with Steve and Nat but when she can she is always with Pietro so you and Wanda become best friends

You try to bring him little things so he is not bored because he can’t do anything

Steve also comes in to bring his stretching advice, tony likes to look at some of your other work ( will writing about that if people want ), Nat is always coming to talk to you ( Clint is your dad Nats best friend so you and Nat are very close like closer than you and Wanda), Wanda is always with Pietro and starts being friends with you, so you guys are never very alone but when you are he is very silly and vulnerable with you

Avengers Doing the Dishes Headcanons

Tony: Doesn't wash dishes. Makes a super high-tech dishwasher instead.

Steve: Washes up even when it's not his turn. Wears marigolds and complains about people not scraping their plates properly (Clint).

Thor: Always volunteers. Always breaks stuff. Everyone pretends to forget the rota when it's his day to clean.

Bruce: Quick and efficient, never complains. Has to be excused when his hands get too shaky after a Hulk-out.

Natasha: Washes up like each piece of cutlery has personally offended her. She's never dropped a slippery knife, though.

Loki: Creates an illusion of himself doing the dishes when he's actually reading a book upstairs.

Scott: Can't wash dishes without some music to sing along to. Gets bored halfway through, shrinks and takes a nap on the sponge floating in the water. Almost drowned once when Nata accidentally threw a spoon at him.

Peter P: Always seems to have a homework assignment due. What a shame.

My HCs of what if Pietro survives AOU :

. Okay so he still is injured after AOU, but luckily he gradually recovers his wounds with the assistances of SHIELD medics

. Yet eventually after hearing how Wanda was recovering in the Mhurruk Imperial Asylum, Dr Strange gives him a crystal ball to communicate with his sister and Telenor himself to visit his sister whenever he needs

The last thing he wanted was to scare her with how much he was panicking. “Carter?” he tried again, but still no response. She just seemed distant to him. Deciding to take her to the med bay, Pietro got back out of bed, but by the time he was standing, he was unsure again. If it were him, he wouldn’t want the doctors alerted. He hated doctors. But Carter didn’t. Would she be mad at him if he took her to see one? Would she be mad if he didn’t?

Pacing back and forth by the bed, Pietro ran his fingers through his nervously. “What do I do? What do I do?!” he mumbled, starting to breathe hard in his panic. Forcing himself to focus and think, he decided he would rather she be angry at him but get treatment if she needed it than to try not to piss her off and have something serious go unchecked. “Yeah. Okay. We’re going to the med bay. Up we go,” he said to her, starting to lift her up to carry her there.

Carter knew something wasn’t right by the time she got home from class. She felt... off. Her thoughts felt syrupy, her mind foggy, and she couldn’t shake a deep feeling of nausea. She had been fine when she got up that morning, but... No. She was probably just exhausted, and the only thing she’d eaten all day had been half a sandwich she ordered from the cafeteria. That would certainly cause anyone to feel sick. Right? And... if it wasn’t that, she probably was just getting sick. Which... was something she definitely wasn’t looking forward to. The last thing she wanted was to be out for a week trying to get over a cold.

But, she was feeling off enough she made a beeline for her room the moment she got home, and took a hot shower to try and clear her head. It seemed to work, and after taking some pain meds to help with her headache, she went to bed early for a nap... and woke up around midnight.

And she felt worse.

Her head was like tar - thick and slow moving, and she was unable to understand what was happening around her, or form a coherent thought. Her skin burned when she touched her cheek, but she felt... cold. There was a dull ringing in both ears, and her vision swam as she forced herself to sit up. The movement alone was enough to cause her stomach to lurch, but she managed not to get sick as she struggled to her feet - as she struggled to even stay standing. She swayed unsteadily on her feet, confusion filling her muddled brain as she became vaguely aware of Kenobi whining and circling her - his tail tucked between his legs.

Even despite his anxious behavior, Carter hardly reacted, and she slowly shuffled towards the doorway - fumbling with the doorknob before opening it, and staggering out into the hall. She needed... something. Someone?

Help.

She needed help. Something wasn’t right, she knew that much, but... she still couldn’t concentrate on anything. Couldn’t make sense of her fleeting thoughts. She just... Tony. Her father would know what to do. If she could just... figure out where he was...

She continued to stagger down the hall - unaware as her dog whined and continued to circle her, trying to get her to sit down like he would when she was having a panic attack. She kept her arms crossed tightly over her chest, unaware that each breath sounded wheezy, and came to a sudden stop when she caught sight of another door. Pietro. She could... He would help her, somehow. Maybe... maybe she was just sick. Or was she dreaming? She had never sleepwalked before, but there was a first time for everything. Was that it?

With a shake of her head, she managed to make her way towards his door, but didn’t even realized she had managed to knock until he opened it a few moments later. And Carter just stared with a glassy gaze, not even processing he was smiling, and--

She hadn’t even realized she collapsed into his arms until he was lying down next to her in his bed, and even then she struggled to make sense of what was going on. What was he saying? Had she been dreaming? Was he trying to wake her? She struggled to sit up - to do something - and felt her heart lurch suddenly as he scooped her up into his arms. He said something else, but... she still couldn’t make sense of it.

Whatever it was, though, Kenobi seemed to whine his agreement as he followed after them - his tail still tucked between his legs. Just out of curiosity but do you read/ hc pietro as neurodivergent? I know it’s a popular hc among fans and there’s certainly some moments that lend to that interpretation (plus I see a bit of myself and my brother in him so personally I hc he has mild autism) but I was wondering if you had any of your own thoughts on it, or for Wanda for that matter?

Yes, but it's complicated. Pietro and Wanda are both characters who spend a lot of time grappling with complex trauma, generational trauma, mental illness, and what are clearly meant to be read as neurological differences. I struggle with many of those things myself, and as a Romani person with an immigrant background, I get a lot out of reading these characters through that lens. It's an intrinsic part of what makes them so human and compelling to me, especially as part of a larger, intergenerational tapestry of mixed-race immigrants and survivors. These issues are a part of our heritages and histories, so I want that to be reflected in the characters who represent me.

I think it's hard to talk about neurodivergence or mental illness-- which, of course, are not the same thing, I just mean that the conversations tend to overlap-- with Wanda and Pietro because this is already, textually, part of the characters, but it's been implemented in really messy ways.

For both of them, their primary mental health challenges and neurological differences are treated as extensions or results of their powers. There is an allegorical element that gets in the way of literal representation. This sort of thing is very common in superhero comics, and I've written about it before regarding transness and genderfluidity. It's entirely possible to still write meaningful and resonant representation, but I don't know if I feel comfortable saying "Pietro is autistic"when the text is saying he doesn't have autism, he has a super-speed-mutation-brain. Does that make sense?

The other problem is that the material that introduced these elements to the characters is really problematic. I'm sure I don't have to explain why House of M is an ableist and sexist narrative, but a lot of people seem to overlook the fact that the depiction of Wanda as a person with specific mental illnesses is rooted in a harmful, ableist storyline. Specifically, the way that schizoaffective disorders are defined and pathologized in Disassembled is cruel, inaccurate, and just unacceptable. That tone is still echoed in a lot of modern comics when Wanda's mental health is addressed.

In addition, I really don't like to put too much stock in the whole "Pietro Maximoff Syndrome" thing from X-Factor. For one thing, Peter David is a hateful, vocal anti-Romani racist, and it is reflected in a lot of his choices with Pietro. While this direction did humanize and justify some of Pietro's personality flaws, I do feel that the tone was overall very derisive towards him.

In Scarlet Witch (2016), Wanda talks about going to therapy and taking antidepressants, and in Quicksilver: No Surrender (2018), Pietro talks about his complex trauma responses in a way that's specifically grounded to the reality of being a severely marginalized person of color. These are the best examples of how their mental health has been addressed-- they bypass the powers and allegory and just allow the characters to inhabit real experiences that actually deserve representation.

That said, it doesn't really represent neurodivergence the same way. I think that's a subject that superhero comics have been dancing around for a long time, but haven't quite figured out how to reckon with. I really hope its something we'll see more positive growth towards, in the future.
