Natasha: Who wants to make 5 bucks?
Billy: How?
Natasha: I need someone to take the fall.
Wanda, from outside: Oh my god…
Tommy: What did you do??
Natasha: I can’t tell you. Yes or no, no questions asked.
Wanda: Oh. My. GOD!
Y/n: …Make it 10.
Nat, sigh in relief: Done. *opens the door*
Wanda: OH MY GOD?!!!
Nat, turns to Y/n: You’re a good daughter.
Nat, drags her by the collar: I got her honey! I got her, don’t worry!

this is for you babe @hellmo one unfinished wip served fresh off the doc!
mcu!scarletwidow meets comics!babymaximofftwins meets billy x teddy meets tommy x david (that isn't shown yet bc, again, unfinished) meets offscreen amerikate
To say Teddy’s nervous is an understatement. Honestly, he’d rather be fighting a semi-interplanetary war all over again—which is ridiculous considering he’s already met Billy’s parents once. And considering that moment went ridiculously well, surely he can handle meeting Billy’s biological mom just fine.
Except, Billy’s mom is also a superhero.
Which is fine because Teddy’s met so many freaking superheroes.
Except, Billy’s superhero mom is the Scarlet Witch.
And Teddy kind of fears and admires the woman after everything Billy’s told him about her.
So he’s fine, really.
Teddy has everything under control.
Except—
“Oh, hey boys, you’re early.” The front door opens to reveal a short redhead in an old S.H.I.E.L.D. sweatshirt and jeans. Natasha Romanoff, Teddy’s brain supplies.
The second reason he’s definitely not nervous.
Obviously, who’d be nervous about meeting their boyfriend’s multiverse-bending mom and said mom’s assassin-girlfriend?
Teddy pastes on his best impress-the-parents/guardians smile and offers his hand in greeting. “Afternoon, Ms. Romanoff. Sorry if we’re a little too early. Billy isn’t a fan of being late.”
Billy elbows him in the stomach in reply, glare half-hearted as he side-steps him to greet Natasha with a hug (Teddy holds back his smile as he watches the infamous Black Widow melt into the hug. It shouldn’t be so surprising. Billy’s just magic like that).
When the two finally part, Natasha leads them into the living room and offers them some drinks. “We’ve got sparkling juice and non-sparkling juice.”
“Did mom make you hide the vodka?” Billy teases, plopping on to the couch and tugging at the hem of Teddy’s shirt to follow.
Teddy gingerly follows suit, letting the warmth of his boyfriend pressed next to him soothe some of his non-existent nerves. Thankfully, Billy slots their hands together and rubs soothing circles into his knuckles as he tries to muster up his usual charm.
“Where’s mom?” Billy asks as Teddy takes the offered apple juice in a wine glass.
“Double-sealing the alcohol cellar with magic so your brother doesn’t speed his way into nabbing one when he says he needs to use the bathroom.”
Billy snorts in reply, nodding in commiserative understanding before knocking his knee into Teddy’s. His boyfriend turns to him as he shares, “One time, Nat found Tommy passed out with a bottle of her favorite whisky in his hand and when she tried to pry it out of his fingers, the glass broke from him sleep-vibrating in his sleep.”
Teddy chuckles at the image. It seems that no matter where he is, Tommy would always be Tommy. And speaking of the other, slightly more reckless twin…
“Where is Tommy?” he asks as Natasha takes a seat on the armchair across from them. Nothing nerve-wracking about that.
Natasha shrugs as she hums, “Well you two are quite a bit early.” He’d told Billy they could take the bus. Would’ve given him more time to mentally prepare, too. “Wanda had said something about him bringing his not-partner along so that might also be it.”
“Oh! David’s coming?” Billy leans forward, curious, and Teddy tries not to get distracted by the cute, mischievous look on his boyfriend’s face.
Natasha seems to pounce at his reply. “It’s David now, is it?” Her smile is practically predatory. “I thought he was with Kate?”
“Nah, that barely lasted,” Billy waved his hand, oblivious to the way Natasha seems to be filing this information in her head. “She’s with America now and we all go on, like, triple dates together sometimes.”

Double the trouble au: part 1, part 2
Summary: Natasha and Wanda’s teenage twin daughters are a lot to handle, but despite their differences and arguments, there’s nothing they wouldn’t do for each other
Warnings: none
Pairings: WandaNat
wc: 3.9k
note: my first time putting a one shot on tumblr. Here goes nothing
— ⧗ —
"Y/N! Mom told me to come wake you. You're gonna be late." Isla stood at the door, her arms folded with a cocky smirk plastered on her face.
Y/N groaned and turned over in her bed, flinging an arm over her face as she squinted into the light to see who was speaking. The familiar outline of her twin sister came into view and she rolled back over.
"Y/N. Get up. Or don't. It's not my fault if you're late." And with that, the girl was gone, the door swinging shut as a cloud of floral perfume was all that was left in her place.
"Good morning to you too." Y/N muttered under her breath as she pulled her phone off charge and checked the time. Her stomach dropped as 7:19 flashed up on her screen. School started at 8:00. They left at 7:45. She did not have long at all.
"Isla I'm gonna kill you!" The distressed teenager screamed out, running over to her closet to pull out the first half decent outfit she could find. Any feeling of tiredness evaporated from her body as she got dressed, which was probably the only positive to come out of this morning.
A knock sounded on her bedroom door as she pulled her shirt over her head. Wanda's head popped around before she saw it was safe for her to enter. She watched her daughter getting frustrated over her hair for a moment before walking over with a plate of freshly made toast and fruit. There wasn't much time to eat it but Wanda was the kind of mother who made sure all of her girls were fed. Even when Nat was feeling stubborn.
"Good morning sweetheart. I brought breakfast." It was an obvious thing to send but Y/N smiled gratefully at her in the mirror for a split second before a large tangle in her hair caused her to wince.
"Thanks Mom."
"Do you want me to send Mama up to help with your hair?" As a typical mom, Wanda collected a few spare cups from her daughter's desk and stacked them in her hand. Y/N attacked her hair with her hairbrush before setting it down on the table with a thud.
"No! I'm not 4! I can do my own hair!" She exclaimed. She didn't normally talk to Wanda that way, but the stress of being late was taking its toll so Wanda didn't take offence.
"Okay. Well, you've got 15 minutes."
Y/N groaned loudly and started on her make up, having given up on her hair. A ponytail would suffice for today. She did not have the patience.
"Isla, you know you can't leave without your sister. So I don't know what trick you're playing on her, but if she's late then you're late." Wanda went into stern mother mode as she entered the kitchen, where her eldest (by 11 minutes) was sat at the table drinking her breakfast smoothie.
The teenager looked up in offence at her mother, who just shot her a warning look. "I didn-" She was cut off by another glare from Wanda.
The mother tapped the side of her head. "Mind reader. Remember?"
"What's this about mind reading?" Nat questioned as she walked into the kitchen, going straight over to her wife to wrap her in a hug and a kiss. Isla turned back to her phone and the women looked over at their daughter. "And where's Y/N?"
"Well, someone turned her sister's alarm off so she's currently rushing around upstairs."
Nat sent her famous disappointed look to Isla, who cowered slightly. Wanda was easy to get around, often being far too soft with her girls. Natasha was the tough parent, but she still cared. Being a dance teacher and studio owner meant she was an expert in tough love. "Isla... why?"
The teenager shrugged. "I don't know. I just thought it was funny. I was gonna wake her up but I lost track of time." She pulled a lock of perfectly curled hair out of her face and Nat knew what had made her 'lose track of time'.
"You don't do that again, okay?" Isla nodded, not wanting to start an argument before 8am. She wasn't a bad person, but her ideas of teasing her sister and playing jokes weren't exactly the best.
"Hey my love," Wanda hummed as Nat passed her again with a kiss. "Can you go see if Y/N needs any help? She might benefit from your braiding skills today, even though she was okay."
Natasha smiled, nodding. She loved braiding her daughters' hair. Even at 17, when the twins claimed they were too old for it, they secretly loved Nat's braids. Especially Y/N, who found her mom doing her hair at lot during dance show season.
There was just over 5 minutes before they needed to leave so Nat tentatively entered Y/N's room, observing the girl before talking. The teenager was threading her earrings into her ears, the rest of her jewellery already in place. Make up was scattered across the desk and her hairbrush was on the other side of the room. Her hair hung down her back in a dark red curtain, the ends curling naturally slightly. It looked smooth but wasn't styled, and Nat smiled.
"Hey sweet girl. Can I help?" She sat on Y/N's bed slightly, picking up the backpack by the floor and slotting her daughter's laptop and charger into the right compartment. She didn't snoop around, but instead put it back on the floor by her feet.
"I just need to finish my make up. How long do I have?" Y/N took a bite of toast as Nat checked her watch.
"5 minutes. Do you want braids? I can do them in 2 minutes. And I won't be in your way." Y/N was hesitant as she applied her concealer, frantically blending it in. Wasn't her neatest job but she still wanted to be presentable.
"Okay but please make it quick."
Nat sprung into action, gathering up a small section of hair to begin braiding. The two worked in silence, with there being no time to walk. As Nat tied off the first braid, Y/N leaned forwards to curl her lashes before Nat started again on the other side. The braids were only small, taking the front sections of Y/N's hair to keep them out of her face during the day.
Being a dancer, she kept her hair long but there was so much of it that it got in the way a lot. So she rarely had it fully down, either claw clips or braids holding back. Isla rarely wore braids, wanting to differentiate herself from her sister at school. They got mixed up enough as it was.
"Okay. All done." Nat stepped back as Y/N applied her final coat of lipgloss. She smiled as she saw the braids but didn't have time to admire them before a jangle of keys was heard and a voice yelled up the stairs.
"Y/N! Let's go!"
"Always so polite." Nat said sarcastically with a smile to Y/N. She handed her daughter her backpack and gave her a quick hug before the girl rushed out of the room, Nat following behind more calmly.
"Love you Mama! Love you Mom!" Y/N shouted over her shoulder, running out of the house with a slice of her toast in her hand.
"Have a great day girls." The women called out, watching the car pull away from the driveway. Isla got her permit before Y/N so she was the designated taxi girl in the family now. Y/N hated it, but driving wasn't her strongest suit so she stuck out the irritating chatter of her sister until she was finally ready for her own permit.
"Everyday I'm still surprised at how similar yet so different they are." Wanda commented, her hands wrapped round her mug of tea. Nat mirrored her from her side, her mug containing coffee instead.
"They look like a carbon copy of each other and yet sometimes I feel it's like they're from different planets." This made Wanda laugh slightly, her breathy giggle never failing to put a smile on her wife's face.
"I mean, you wouldn't find Isla in a dance studio anymore. But then Y/N practically lives there. And you wouldn't find her on the athletics track either, unlike Isla. We must have done something right... right?"
Nat sidled up to her wife and wrapped her arms around her waist, mug now abandoned on the counter. "You, my dear, are the best mom those girls could ask for." She looked into the green eyes she knew far too well before pressing a kiss to the lips she had memorised and could draw in her sleep. "We've done everything we can do for them. And our girls are the toughest girls in the world."
"And they're ours."
"Our little babies." Nat said with a soft smile, her head leaning down to rest on Wanda's shoulder.
"Don't let Y/N hear you saying that. She was snappy about me thinking she was 4 earlier."
"That girl is a whirlwind. She's as wild as her hair sometimes." Wanda reached up and pushed a lock of Nat's red hair behind her ear, admiring the colour which matched the twins' almost perfectly.
"And I know just where she gets it from." The Sokovian said with a smile before kissing her wife. Nat tried to deepen it now it was just them, but Wanda pulled back. "I have work to do. As much as I'd love to stay here with you all day, those emails won't answer themselves." She left the room with an aura of grace surrounding her and Nat found herself staring at the door way long after she was gone.
— ⧗ —
The day went by quite fast. Wanda worked in her office until 4pm, whilst Nat left for her studio at 1pm to start preparing that evening's classes. Competition season was a stressful time but she handled herself well, staying on top of what she needed and when.
The final bell rang and the corridors were soon filled with hoards of teenagers, everyone racing to get home as quickly as possible. Y/N and Isla stopped by their lockers, chatting with friends as they exchanged the textbooks needed for tonight's homework.
Despite their quarrels and petty arguments, the twins shared the same group of friends at school. They were known by everyone, but Bucky, Maria, Clint, Kate and Steve made up their main group. They were pretty popular, partly due to the fact that there wasn't a single person who disliked their moms. Nat and Wanda were the favourite parents which somehow elevated the girls' social status in school. Maybe it was also because of the parties they were allowed to host.
Natasha and Wanda's main focus was to give their girls as normal of a life as they possible could. Which meant letting them live like teenagers. Going to football games, school dances, hosting house parties, trips to the mall with friends. Anything that normal teenagers did was allowed. Alcohol was monitored and smoking and drugs was a strict no. But the twins followed the rules, knowing they were a lot luckier than most.
"Shit. Mom needs me in the studio." Y/N read aloud as her locker slammed shut. Isla peered down at her sister's phone and sighed.
"Y/N I've got track practice in 15 minutes. I can't get you there and back in time." Her sports bag hung off her shoulder and she watched her sister grab the emergency dance bag from her locker that she kept purely for times like this. "Well, I suppo-"
"I can take you" Bucky spoke. He was leaning with his back against the lockers like he usually did, watching Y/N with a soft smile.
"No I-" Isla started to protest but stopped herself. She knew how much Bucky was crushing on her sister and she was in full support. "Actually, Bucky, that would be amazing." Everyone else was aware of his crush, all except Y/N. She was completely oblivious, which obviously Isla took full advantage of and teased her about it almost on a daily basis.
"Do you know where it is?" Y/N asked casually. She had been crouched down by her bags to swap her stuff over and so had missed the looks and glances that everyone shared as Bucky offered. So as she stood back up everyone was smiling wide which confused her. "What?"
"Yeah my little sister does ballet on saturdays there and I pick her up sometimes." Bucky had already fished his car keys out and was tossing them in his hand.
Y/N noticed her sister's smirk out of the corner of her eye as they all walked to the exit of the school. "Isla, what is it?"
"Nothing. You guys have fun. But not too much fun." And with a wink, she turned towards the track and ran off to join her friends who were already on their way over in the distance. Everyone else said goodbye and went their separate ways for the night, leaving Bucky and Y/N by his car.
Y/N was definitely the kindest out of the twins, so she could easily make conversation with anyone. She didn't think anything special of the car ride to her mom's studio, except maybe that Bucky was really nice to offer her a ride. It was only a 10 minute drive but she was still so grateful.
"Thanks a lot for this, by the way." Y/N said as she stared out of the window. She knew this route like the back of her hand but something about the sun shining through the trees made it extra special today.
Bucky shook his head. "It's no problem. Always happy to help."
Y/N looked over and smiled at him. "You're a really good friend. I'm glad I've got you."
Bucky's smile slipped but he fixed it quickly as they came to a red light. Once again he was pushed back into the friend zone, but it was his fault for not making his feelings known. As he looked over at her, the sun catching her red hair, making it look like fire, her body swaying slightly to the music of "You Make Loving Fun", he realised just how much he liked her. But Y/N was sweet to everyone, so it held him back. Maybe she didn't see him the way he saw her. Or maybe she liked someone else.
His thoughts had distracted him and the lights turned green, earning a soft poke in the arm from Y/N who gestured to the lights.
They both hummed along to the music and chatted the rest of the way, Y/N sending her mom a quick text as they caught the rush hour traffic.
"You really are amazing for doing this. I'll pay you back at some point, I promise!" Y/N gratefully thanked him as she grabbed her bags to climb out of the car. Bucky offered to get out and help but Y/N's stubborn nature refused any help.
"Don't worry about it. Enjoy yourself. You're an amazing dancer!" He leaned out of the window and waved as he drove off, sending a blush creeping across Y/N's face.
Maybe the feelings were reciprocated. Just a little...
"Hey angel," Nat called out as Y/N walked through the main entrance doors.
"Hi Mama."
"Who was that outside?" Nat asked after Y/N said hi to the receptionist. She made her way over to her mother, who was stood by the door to the main studio and cafe.
"Oh, Bucky gave me a lift here. Isla had track so she couldn't get back in time." Nat couldn't help the smirk that crept onto her face, identical to the one Isla wore just before they left school.
"Oh so that's Bucky? Nice." She turned around and walked down the hall, leaving Y/N to chase after her.
"What's that supposed to mean?" The teenager called out, but Nat just shrugged and checked the windows outside studio 1b. "Mama. Please tell me. Isla had the same smirk. I'm not stupid so just tell me what's going on."
Y/N's huff and pout made Nat 'aw' and she pinched her daughter's cheek before her hand was quickly slapped away. "Nothing baby. I just expected to see Isla, that's all. Not Bucky."
Y/N folded her arms over her chest, careful not to let her backpack or sports bag slip off her shoulders. "I don't believe you."
Nat patted her on the head and unlocked the door to the studio. "Okay. Now come on. I want to work on your solo. We have that turns section to sort out so hurry up and get changed."
Y/N groaned and dropped her back off her shoulder, where it landed with a muffled thud ad her feet. "Mom give me a minute. I just got here."
"I have no minutes to give. It's comp season, you know that Y/N/N. No time to waste." Nat was already over in the speaker corner, connecting her laptop up so it was ready. "Why are you still standing there?"
"Can I just have 2 minutes to breathe?"
Natasha turned around and placed her hands on her hips, mirroring her daughter perfectly. "Do you want Yelena to take your private instead? She's free right now actually. I could be teaching junior tap instead."
Y/N's eyes went wide and she quickly grabbed her discarded bag. "No no! I'll hurry. I'll change and be back! Please don't sent Yelena in here!"
"Good. And I won't. She's taking your class for ballet later anyway. So you have that to enjoy."
The teenager was halfway to the changing room before she stopped dead in her tracks. That was her worst nightmare. "Mama! She's gonna be all 'Those feet are horrible. Point them. Why do your hands look like claws. Are you a crab? Are we doing Little Mermaid dance? Your posture is like potato couch. Why are none of you flexible?'" Her Russian accent sounded nothing like her aunt, which made Nat raise an eyebrow. She'd taught her daughters better than that. Or so she thought.
"Potato couch?"
"I think she meant couch potato. But yeah she said that to Becca last week. It helped though. Her posture was better last night."
"Then she's a good teacher." Such a know it all.  "Do you stretch every night?"
Y/N went to answer and Nat gave her a knowing look. "Well, not every night."
"Then everything Yelena says is true. So don't complain. She tells me everything."
"I don't see how you guys are sisters. You're so different. She makes you seem almost angelic." Y/N fiddled with the lock on the changing room door.
"Exactly what your mom and I say about you and Isla. Now stop being cheeky and go get changed. And I want the hi-cut black leotard because we're working on legs today. Oh, and Y/N, bring your half soles because I don't want to completely destroy your feet before the rest of your classes." Natasha was bossy but it's what made her one of the best teachers around. She knew what she wanted and what it took to get there. She could recognise the potential in her dancers but would only work with those who put the work in themselves.
There was something so special about working with your daughter. Nat loved it, even if she didn't get to do privates like this much. Yes, she went into dance teacher mode and Y/N was no exception, but the pride she felt when she watched her daughter dance was something she didn't feel as much with the other dancers. Just like when she watched Isla win her races, seeing Y/N dance made her heart swell so much it felt as though it would burst.
10 minutes later and Y/N emerged from the changing room, a hair tie between her teeth as she pulled her hair up into a ponytail. Nat wasn't strict on hair with privates, only with normal class. So she just put on some calming music and started stretching with her daughter. Yes, it was weird seeing her mom effortlessly do the splits, but Y/N was used to it by now.
They gossiped the whole time, Y/N filling her in on any school drama that was of interest. As Y/N moved to the bar to stretch her leg holds, Nat couldn't hold back her questions anymore.
"What's going on with you and Bucky?" Nat asked and then burst out laughing as she turned to face her daughter. Y/N had her right leg pulled up to her head, but the most confused and shocked expression on her face. It truly was a hilarious sight.
"Uh- nothing? But I feel like you know something I don't? That's the second time you've asked me today."
Nat shrugged. "Well, he gave you a lift. I'm just curious."
"Well there's nothing to be curious about." She switched legs as she was talking. "He's just a friend. You know that. We've literally been friends since middle school!"
"Okay. I'll just ask Isla then." Nat smirked and walked over to her laptop.
"Mama, she will just tell you the same! And if she doesn't then she's just causing drama. Or making my life a living hell."
"She's your sister. That's what she's supposed to do. You do the exact same to her, even if you don't think so." Y/N rolled her eyes, moving to the centre of the room. "Okay, let's run it. You ready?"
"Is that why you and Aunt Yelena can't direct the same dance show? Because you argue?" Y/N smirked as her mom shook her head. "I'm right aren't I?"
"No you're not. And she's Miss Yelena to you. Just like I'm Miss Natasha. Now, dance."
"Yes Mama." Y/N wore a shit eating grin as she moved to her starting position, trying to get into the character of her dance so she didn't burst out laughing.
She was grateful for the relationship she had with both her moms and family meant the most to her. Even Isla had a special place in her heart, despite their quarrels and petty arguments. Those sisters would do anything for each other if it came down to it. Which was surprising to everyone except Wanda and Natasha. They saw the sisterly bond like no one else did. It was unbreakable.

can you lie to a russian assassin? (no you can’t) - wandanat x daughter!r

the last month at the compound has by far been the best ever since your parents’ death. for once, you two were in an environment where you were safe and had people who genuinely cared for your wellbeing.
old habits die hard though, especially for you. ellie was a couple months shy of a year old when when your parents passed away. you two were placed into a foster home that turned out to be a pair of hydra agents in disguise. their task was to foster as many kids as possible and weed out the ones they felt was best suited for hydra’s new programmes. you had been suspicious of them ever since stepping foot in the house, they barely cared for any of the children and you often had the responsibility of taking care of your sister.
after a couple months of being in their foster care, they adopted you both legally just so they could send you off to the hidden labs. with ellie being one, they focused on helping her develop her basic skills.
you, having got your basic motor skills at least, got the brunt of any physical training, which in turn came with punishments and pain. the scientists in charge of ellie’s general care and your mental developement had grown a soft spot for you two which you were grateful for as they were rarely physical with either of you. you were even more thankful that the avengers raided the base when they did, because the guards had mentioned starting ellie’s physical training since she had just turned four.
so yes, the last three years had been far from easy.
on the first night, you barely slept. as comfortable as the large bed was, you just refused to let yourself rest in fear that someone would come take ellie away in the night. the door creaking open had you quickly shutting your eyes, feigning sleep.
natasha took note of how uneven your breathing was compared to ellie’s but decided against commenting on it. instead she purposefully made her steps louder as she left the room and headed off for her morning workout. when you hear the footsteps fade away, you opened your eyes to survey your surroundings again shifting ellie closer to you, you attempted to keep watch a little longer but ultimately sleep overtook you.
you’re were awakened a few hours later by ellie shaking you. her round doe eyes looked up at you as she asked if there’s any food. usually you’d be back from whatever “payment” the guards have you do with food before ellie even wakes up. there might be no more guards here to hurt you, but you’re still apprehensive. and while they had given you food the night before just like that, you mentally prepared yourself just in case. hand in hand, the two of you headed out of the room, only to walk straight into natasha. the redhead had her hair in her usual braid, her workout clothes traded in for a more casual attire.
“oh good, you’re up. wanda is making breakfast.” natasha smiled at you two, gesturing for you to follow her. when she doesn’t hear your footsteps, she turns back around.
“if.. if we’re required to do anything for breakfast i can do it for both me and ellie..” you trailed off uncertainly as you look up at her, feeling a little unnerved by her unreadable gaze.
natasha stood there for a moment, many alarm bells going off in her head. she doesn’t even want to wonder what you had been asked to do, so she quickly compartmentalizes that thought for later. she goes to take a step forward but stops when you quickly step backwards. “you don’t have to do anything okay? not anymore.”
“but food is expensive.. i have to pay off the debt no?” you questioned, but relax slightly at the thought of not needing to do any of the things you were used to.
“no debt. you need food to stay healthy, you’re a kid malysh. you deserve to be taken care of. now come, let’s see what wanda is making.”
the rest of the month progress in a similar fashion. both of you are given proper baths everyday, not just the usual quick rinse with cold water you had become accustomed to, which didn’t even happen daily. natasha is constantly reminding you two that if either of you needed anything, you could just ask. while you remain hesitant on asking for things, ellie has almost no reservations.
while everything seemed to be going good, you were getting worried that ellie might be getting attached. the scientists teaching ellie had kept a cold distance, meaning you were the one giving her any kind of physical love and affection. now, ellie had both natasha and wanda too. the little girl had clearly taken a liking to the redhead, going to her with any of her requests and natasha granting most if not all of them.
to natasha, ellie was asking for the most basic things a child should have so she had no issues indulging her. while it worried her a bit that you still seemed so reserved, she never quite knew how to break you out of your shell. it definitely did not help that ellie took up most of her attention. ever since natasha had introduced the younger kid to all the toys tony bought, she spent more time playing dolls and colouring than doing paperwork.
however, natasha knew that wanda was making small but steady progress with you. while ellie had gotten into a habit of asking natasha for things, wanda relied on observing you for any cues that might indicate what you wanted. the first time you had breakfast with them, you had finished everything but barely touched the bacon. after some coaxing from wanda, she found out that you hadn’t enjoyed the greasy texture of it. you had expected to be reprimanded but wanda simply took the plate away and gave you another serving of eggs and toast. wanda had also noticed you took a liking to the various kid books provided by tony. so while natasha was colouring with ellie, wanda would sit with you on the couch nearby with her own book in hand. you never mentioned it but you always liked having her nearby, wanda emitted a sort of calmness that you were slowly getting used to.
the two adults were definitely glad to see the both of you settling in at the compound. moreso, they realised how much they enjoyed watching you two flourish. their previous night time discussions usually revolved work or any team gossip, but now they often found their topic of conversation to be about the two young girls down the hall from them.
one night, wanda confesses to natasha that she’s worried she can’t let go.
“i just.. i don’t think i can see them go tasha. i know it’s only been a month but, oh i don’t know. they’re good kids tasha, they deserve to be loved and taken care of. i just don’t think i can trust anyone to give them what they deserve.”
natasha, much to wanda’s relief, shares a similar sentiment. so after some more discussion, they decide that they’ll fully draft out the needed documents to make you two their children.
natasha decides now would be a good time to get the truth out of you. she knows that you’re much younger than you say are, the documents all prove it. but, she knows that you saying you’re older is a way of protecting yourself and ellie. which she aims to change because you are still a child.
natasha decides to try the straightforward method. at breakfast she asks you for your age, an eyebrow raised as if daring you to lie.
you know she knows, or at least you assume she does. but you’re stubborn and a part of you worries that by telling her your true age, you’ll be sent away. ellie is younger, she needs more guidance and care. why would the two avengers keep two kids when one would be easier?
you lie easily, telling her you’re turning 12, when in reality you’re only 7. natasha narrows her eyes at you and you avoid her gaze, picking at your food instead.
“you know.. lying isn’t very good malysh.” natasha hums and your grip on the fork tightens.
“well, i am eleven right now so. not lying.” you try and shrug nonchalantly but both the adults can tell it was forced. wanda places a hand on natasha’s shoulder, shaking her head slightly and the redhead drops the subject.
wanda chooses to try a different approach. she sits with you as she sorts out the books on the floor, picking out a book meant for slightly older children. she turns to pass it to you but notices you have a whole dictionary on your lap. she looks closer and realises that it’s russian, causing her eyes to widen in surprise.
your eyes skim through the pages as you try and find the particular words you wanted. ah, there it was.
malysh - baby
milaya - darling
your brows furrow at that. you had been curious as to what the adults had been calling you both, you were often called malysh while ellie was called milaya. you had assumed it was some sort of term for child, or girl, but you didn’t think it’d be a term of endearment.
“malysh what you looking at?” wanda’s sweet voice causes you to close the book hurriedly as you look up at her.
“nothing! i’m sorry i-“
“woah hey it’s okay malysh,” wanda is quick to soothe you. “you’re alright, yeah? just surprised because i didn’t think a dictionary would be your first choice in books.” wanda laughs a little and you feel yourself relax.
“i just wanted to understand the names you’ve been calling us, that’s all.” you shyly admit and wanda is barely able to contain the way she melts at your adorable expression.
“well, did you manage to find it?” wanda queries and you nod in response.
“i’m not a baby though.” you state, lips curled into a slight pout. “i’m a big girl and i can be useful.”
wanda sighs a little and pats the spot next to her. after some slight hesitation you shuffle over.
“it doesn’t matter if you’re a baby or not. you’re still a child okay? you deserve to be taken care of properly. we want you here because we care about you, not because we want something out of you. understood?” wanda gaze is fixed on you and you stare back at her as you processes what she said. you nod your head again slowly, assuming that is the ideal answer. your eyes dart over to the books and you end up picking one randomly before walking over to settle next to ellie at the coffee table.
ellie turns to look at you and shoots you a toothy grin as she shows off her latest coloring.
“look! tasha and wan!” the four year old giggles happily when you praise her work. she turns back around and begins to work on another project.
“would you like to color?” natasha offers but you shake your head. you try to start reading your book but something feels a little .. missing. you look up and around the room before you see wanda at the kitchen island on her laptop. you frown a little and you have a little mental debate in your mind. maybe, just maybe, you could try and see if they really mean they say.
“wanda?” you call out tentatively and the brunette’s attention is immediately switched onto you.
“yes malysh?”
you pat the space next to you in a silent question and wanda practically beams at you. she takes her laptop and sits at her spot next to you. now content that everyone was together, you went back to your book. wanda and natasha share a look, both of them pleased when they see a small smile on your face.
natasha continues to try and get you to reveal your true age. she’s exhausted almost every trick she’s seen laura do (and has done herself) on the barton kids.
she’s tried bribery, but it backfired pretty quickly with your past. you had been picking a book and natasha picked one that was meant for 6-8 year olds and offered it to you. the general storyline had piqued your interest enough, but just as you reached to take it from you natasha had brought it towards her. coming up with something along the lines of “oh aren’t you a little too old for the book? since you’re 11?” you had kept quiet, still eyeing the book so she tried to take it up a notch.
“or, are you much younger than you said? if you tell me, i’ll give you the book.” she had expected you to either argue back, or come clean but instead you stood up and made your way where wanda was preparing lunch. natasha watched, a little dumbfounded, as you clamber up onto the bar stool. she wasn’t sure what you two talked about but she received a slight glare from her girlfriend, red wisps grabbing the book from her grasp and floating it over to you. you accepted it with a quiet thank you to wanda before you started to read.
natasha tries the same thing again when tony sends in another shipment of toys. this time being enough stuffed animals for the girls to have their own zoo. ellie is quick to sort through the toys before picking one, holding it close to her. natasha observes you looking and sees the way your gaze is trained on a specific animal. she settles next to you and grabs it, your gaze flits from the toy to natasha.
“is this the one you like malysh?” natasha questions. your teeth pulls at your lower lip, your stare jumping between the stuffed animal and the redhead.
“if i say yes, do i get it or will you ask how old am i again?” you counter, absentmindedly fiddling with your fingers.
natasha gapes at you for a bit before sighing. she mulls over her thoughts before she begins to speak.
“look, i know you know that i know. truthfully, i don’t mind you lying to me. because i get it. being older makes you stronger, makes it safer, right?” natasha pauses and you nod hesitantly, keeping your head down.
“i’m a big girl. no one..” you take in a shaky breath before continuing. “no one wants a baby, much less two. and you already have ellie, so, that means i’m a big girl.”
“well i’m not no one, am i? wanda and i, we want this. we want you, malysh. both of you.” your head snaps up at that, your big eyes looking up at her. natasha chuckles softly as she places the stuffed toy in your lap. “we’ve talked about it and well.. we just don’t think we can let you go.”
“so we stay?” you ask, eyes glossing over with tears. “here? with you and wanda?”
“if that’s what you want malysh then yes. you are both our babies, you know? not just ellie.” natasha reiterates, one hand slowly going to wipe away your tears.
you swallow the lump in your throat as you continue to cry silently, your fingers tangling in the soft fur of the toy in your lap. safe. you two were finally safe.
“i turn 8 at the end of the year.” you whisper softly, peering up at natasha through your eyelashes. natasha’s smile broadens at your words, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head.
“thank you malysh. i promise you that wanda and i will always protect you. no one will ever hurt you, or ellie, again. not on our watch.”

First date headcanons!
Tumblr media
Wanda Maximoff x fem!reader
A/n: I always think of the most random headcanons during the day so I thought I'd share them :) these headcanons are in highschool AU!
Summary: where Wanda tries getting the courage to ask you out on a date
-------------------------------------------------------
Ohohoho would Wanda be such a nervous mess when she finally decides she wants to ask you out
You've been on her mind ever since she first laid eyes on you in your shared English class and has been wondering what it would be like to be with you ever since
Wanda has had many a sleepless night trying to figure out how to ask you out, often practising in front of her mirror and getting frustrated whenever she messes up her lines again
"Would you please- no, too desperate... Can I ask you- nope, too corny! Ugh! Wanda Maximoff, you mess! You will ask this girl out! And you will also stop talking to yourself."
She decided to just simply ask it the first time she saw you, no matter what scenario.
And so, she saw you the next day and had it all prepared in her head. She only did not expect to chicken out at the last moment.
"Hey y/n!" "Hey, what's up?" "Well I was wondering if you'd like to... t-to, uhm... maybe help me find the pencil I lost?" "Oh... yes, sure!"
And so, she spend a good few minutes with you searching for a pencil that was never there to begin with.
That night, Wanda screamed in her pillow so hard she had her brother and parents worried 🥲
She had decided to simply give up trying, she would mess it up every time anyway.
So imagine her surprise to see you at her locker the next day with a fresh set of pencils.
"So you won't have to be searching for a while again"
It was only when you walked away that she saw the note on the back of the set of pencils.
'I noticed what you were trying to do yesterday and it was adorable. Meet me at the coffee shop at four? - Y/n ♡'
Wanda was absolutely over the moon, rushing home to get ready for her coffee date with you.
You two had an amazing two hour coffee date and an even better three hour lunch date that weekend!
And now you two have been going strong for over three years now, you giving Wanda a set of pencils every anniversary as a joke, amongst all the other things you get her.
Wanda couldn't be happier.

Meet the Fam!
Summary: Natasha and Wanda have 8 children, and they love them all 25/8. 25 hours a day/8 days a week. This is an introduction to the series and this family.
Pairing: Wanda x Natasha, parents!WandaNat x daughter!reader
Words: 5.5k~
Warnings: NON CANON AU, mentions of child abuse, child neglect, and child abandonment, a very sick baby girl, emergency birth, I get a little long winded, but what’s new?
Not really a warning, just a heads up: This series obviously has A LOT of original characters, specifically child original characters. If oc’s aren’t really your thing, this one may not be for you.
Let me know if I missed some!
A/N: I had a lot of fun brainstorming and world building for this one, so I decided to share a little bit of background information before we jump into the real fic. This one is oc heavy, so I felt the need to really introduce them, so I chose to do so in headcanon/brainstorming format 🙃 Also, this is a non canon AU, so I also felt the need to give you a tidbit of WandaNat’s back ground before all the kiddos came along. Some of these are longer than others and that’s just because I felt those needed a bit explaining for context. Tell me what you think and if you want more!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meet the Maximoff-Romanoff’s!
Starting with moms:
Wanda Django Maximoff-Romanoff
daughter of Olek and Iryna Maximoff
twin sister of Pietro Maximoff
wife of Natasha
born in Sokovia
Her family moved to New York when she was a teenager because her father had a job opportunity.
Her mother decided to open a rather small restaurant to serve food from her country proudly.
and she does well.
Wanda starts off helping in the front of house with her brother
Eventually, she moves to the kitchen where she really learns to shine. She soaks up everything her mother has to teach her.
Once she has mastered everything on the current menu, she starts experimenting. Creating completely new dishes or taking her own Sokovian spin on traditional American foods.
Before long she is teaching her mother new recipes almost weekly. These are then added to the menu.
The restaurant really starts to thrive, pulling people from all of the city into their little hole in the wall, after a year or two of this.
Wanda is about to turn 18 and finish school. She makes a decision to continue her education at a culinary school.
She learns fast and quickly becomes a star pupil.
She gets her degree and returns to New York and helps her parents build the restaurant even further.
They do so well that they can move locations to a much larger venue, and they continue to grow in popularity and prestige. They offer authentic Sokovian food to a community that hasn’t really experienced before, along with Wanda’s masterful creations that blended well know dishes with Sokovian cuisine.
Eventually, her parents decide to take a step back. They still work in the restaurant when needed, but the management and ownership is passed to Wanda.
It’s hers. She owns it. She owns her own restaurant. It’s a dream come true.
The only thing she’s ever wanted more than this is a family of her own,
and soon enough she gets that too.
One night after most of the diners had left, Pietro drags Wanda to the front to introduce her to a friend of his.
Her brother tells her the man’s name, but Wanda doesn’t hear it. She’s too busy trying so hard not to embarrass herself in front of the gorgeous red haired woman sitting at the table with him.
After a short conversation, Wanda excuses herself and turns back to the kitchen mentally kicking herself the whole way.
“Stop it, Wanda. They were clearly on a date. She’s probably straight, so you have no chance.”
She only makes it halfway, and she is stopped by a smooth voice that makes her want to drop her panties.
She turns to find the red head smoothly introducing herself and asking for her number.
‘Natasha, a beautiful name for an even more a beautiful woman,’ Wanda thinks.
She accepts, and the rest is history.
They fall in love and get married in the city. Their families blend seamlessly. It’s almost too good to be true.
They live in the city. Wanda continues to run the restaurant, while Nat patrols.
Wanda always wanted a large family, not really as large of a family that she ended up with, but she wouldn’t change it for the world.
She carries and births 5 of their 8 children: Lena, PJ, Alex, Tommy and Billy.
When she is pregnant with the first set of twins, her and Nat make the decision to move out of the city. They buy a 5 bedroom up state.
Wanda decides to step back from the restaurant to focus on the babies for a while.
She still owns and manages it from afar, but she has a great staff, talented chefs, loyal managers, and a dedicated team to keep the restaurant on its feet and living up to reputation Wanda had built.
After Y/n and Alex are born and grow to the age they need to be in a daycare for most of the day, Wanda feels the need to get out and do something.
She receives an offer to teach at a local culinary school, and she jumps at the opportunity
She absolutely loves it.
Teaching other people as passionate about cooking as she is, watching their skills grow is exhilarating.
With the restaurant and teaching, Wanda feels a sense of peace that she can support her family and continue to support her family as it grows.
and grows and grows and grows
Natasha Alianovna Maximoff-Romanoff
the adopted daughter of Melina and Alexei Romanoff
older sister of Yelena
she was born in Russia
Her birth parents were killed in a car crash when she was very young, and she was sent to an orphanage for girls, The Red Room.
She was there for a few years before she met a little girl named Yelena, a girl much younger than her who just looked scared.
Natasha comforted and cared for her and continued to do so for a year.
It was then a man and woman came in looking to begin their family.
They were taken by Yelena. They spoke to her and played with her before picking her up.
The blonde girl looked frantically for the older girl with fury red hair, but she had gone to steal a snack from the kitchen for Yelena.
Natasha hears screaming and rushes to where she left Yelena.
Two strangers are walking towards the door with her little sister Yelena.
The blonde thrashes in their arms until she’s eventually released and runs straight to Natasha gripping her tightly.
The two of them had become very close, near inseparable.
and that was lowering their chances of being adopted. No one wants to take in two kids.
The strangers leave, and Natasha thinks that she just cost Yelena a good life with those two could have been parents.
but that chance was lost forever.
Until only a week later, when they return with an interest in both girls.
Natasha is 8 when she is adopted along with her official little sister.
They lived in Russia for a few years before moving all the way to Ohio. They stayed there for the rest of Natasha’s childhood.
Her mother Melina taught psychology at a local university. Her father became a police officer.
Somehow both Natasha and her sister decide to follow in his footsteps and become police officers as well.
Eventually Natasha decides to leave the suburban life to move to New York. She works and makes connections.
One day a friend of hers and fellow officer, Steve asks her to try a restaurant that is supposed to be amazing.
“A friend of mine is the owner’s brother; he can get us in.”
The food definitely lives up to the hype.
Natasha is already thinking of when she can come back next when a man approaches the table with a woman in tow.
The most breathtaking woman Natasha has ever seen.
Steve introduces the brother, Pietro, and he introduces his sister the head chef and owner of the restaurant.
Nat compliments the food and gets only a quiet thanks but a completely genuine smile in response.
As the woman, Wanda, walks back to the kitchen, Nat feels like she’s losing her chance.
She quickly chases her down and introduces herself properly and goes for it. By the grace of whatever god there is above, the chef accepts, and Natasha will be forever grateful she did.
She adores Wanda more and more with every interaction.
They get married and decide to start a family of their own.
Unlike her wife, Natasha has always wanted a family as large as they have.
She wanted carry children, to form new lives inside her and love them with every thing she had.
However, she carried and birthed only 1 of their 8 children.
Y/n is a miracle child. One they thought they had lost before she got a chance at conception, but she was there, hiding in plain sight.
The pregnancy that followed was a typical one more or less.
excluding the fact that her wife was also pregnant at the time.
Twice the cravings, twice the mood swings, twice the hormones and the sex drive to go with it.
Pregnancy sex is much harder to accomplish when both members have swollen stomachs.
All goes well until an emergency c-section was performed and Natasha was rushed into surgery.
When she wakes, the first thing she thinks is that she misses her baby. Her flat stomach evidence that her ride along is no longer riding along.
She instantly misses holding the child inside her. She’ll just have to convince Wanda to have a fifth child, so she can carry again.
Nat looks up to find Wanda with red eyes and a terrified expression. She can’t help but think the worst.
Her baby is gone.
“no no no no no no, please no”
Wanda quickly jumps up quelling her fears, Y/n ok, she’s here and healthy, but there was more.
“Nat, I had to make a decision.”
She explains what happened, the complication, the possible outcomes
“It was your uterus or your life.”
Wanda knows how much carrying children meant to her wife, and she had taken that from her.
Nat grieved for a moment.
Her only consistent dream in life was to fall in love and carry children.
That option is now gone
but if the other possibility was Natasha missing out on life with her wife and children, she knew Wanda made the right choice.
She carried Y/n.
She fulfilled that dream. Now, to love them for the rest of her life.
“She is ok?”
“She’s fine. Healthy and so beautiful, lyubov. She has your hair.”
Nat smiles, “that’s all that matters to me.”
She kisses her wife without a drop of resentment in her heart.
She eventually goes back on the job and just watches her children grow.
They all have different personalities, likes and dislikes.
Natasha’s favorite is when she watches them find their passion and chase it.
…now for the kiddos
Lena Iryna Maximoff-Romanoff
17 years old
one of “the big twins”
Natasha and Wanda’ very first born child
the biological daughter of Wanda and a male donor
born 18 mins before her twin Pietro
Named after her Aunt Yelena
At the age of two, she saw an old home video of Natasha dancing ballet in a recital and begged to dance like her.
She began lessons at the age of three and has danced till this day. She improves more and more with every year.
She’s very talented.
As a junior in high school, she has been recruited to dance in college even a professional ballet company showed interest in her.
However, she wants to be a lawyer.
specifically a family lawyer after witnessing the adoptions of two of her little siblings first hand
She has the grades for it. She’s not in the very top of her class, but she is not far below them.
In true first kid fashion, when she’s not dancing or studying? she is probably helping with the little kids.
not because her moms force her to
They would never force her to.
She just likes looking after them.
Once she and PJ are old enough to drive, she often times acts as a school bus picking up her siblings on her way home, after her ballet rehearsals of course.
When moms say “the big twins are in charge”
…what they mean is “Lena is in charge.”
and everyone knows it but PJ.
Pietro Leonid Maximoff-Romanoff
17 years old
“PJ”
one of the “big twins”
biological son of Wanda and a male donor
He was born 18 mins after his sister, and it kills him.
He’s named after his Uncle Pietro, but everyone calls him PJ.
It started as a family joke.
As soon as the twins were born, everyone got confused calling them both Pietro.
So little Pietro became Pietro Jr around family.
No one really knows when it got shortened to PJ, but it’s stuck ever since.
He’s a pretty calm child,
but he can be a rascal when he wants to be.
April fool’s day is his favorite day of the year.
He won’t admit it, but his little brother Alex is his best friend and often coconspirator.
He is currently a junior in high school. He does well in school, not as well as his twin, but still above average, and he’s ok with that.
Like his uncle Pietro he’s fast
like really fast
which is a huge help when he plays soccer. He finally got moved up to varsity his junior year,
and he is PUMPED about it.
He’s not really sure what he wants to do after graduation. Whether to go to college or a trade school.
If he goes to college, he has no idea what he would want to study?
Sifting through the options can be a little overwhelming.
but moms reassure him that he’s only a junior.
“There’s plenty of time to think about it.”
Y/n Alianovna Maximoff-Romanoff
15 years old
the only biological child of Natasha
They were fortunately able to use the same donor as the twins.
Originally, they thought the implantation didn’t take. Months later they learned that Natasha was in fact pregnant.
because it’s the same donor, she’s technically a half-sibling with her brothers and sister,
but she’s definitely a whole sibling you know what I mean?
lovingly nicknamed by her moms as their “secret agent”
due to her inexplicable ability to fly under the radar… since conception, literally.
Only four months older than her brother, Alex
technically making them “Irish twins”
but she’s a year ahead of him in school.
Her birthday falls just before the age cut off date between the grades. So she’s the youngest of her class, and he’s among the older in his.
Now a sophomore in high school, her grades are average, mostly because she dedicates so much of her time to music.
She is arguably the quietest out of all her siblings, with the exception of maybe Max.
except when she’s practicing her violin.
When Y/n was three, her moms asked her if she wanted to dance ballet like Lena. She just shrugged, and they let it go.
When Y/n is four, her sister Lena begged to go see a real ballet.
So moms took Y/n along too, thinking if she saw the dancers that might convince her.
While her moms and sister watched the dancers, Y/n was solely focused on the orchestra pit.
After that every time she got to pick music in the car, she asked for “ballet music” (of course, her moms knew exactly what she meant).
When she learned the names of all the instruments, her answer quickly changed to “violins please.”
For her 5th birthday she gets her first violin, she began lessons.
After 10 years of playing, she is good.
like really really good
not because she’s a prodigy or anything
She’s good because she wants to be, so she works hard for it.
Y/n practices all the time.
To the point that her siblings start to complain, especially when she first started.
As much as they hate to think it, it got a little frustrating for her moms too.
So they ask her to practice in the basement to cancel a bit of the noise.
She spends so much time down there, that when she’s 10, they redecorate the basement and turn it into Y/n’s new bedroom.
She absolutely loves it.
Lena is trying to convince Y/n to play for one of her ballet recital solos. Of course Y/n is gonna say yes, she looks up to her big sister too much not to.
Between how much time she spends in her room practicing and how quiet she can be and the whole “secret agent” thing she’s got going on, she’s prone to slipping through the cracks in terms of attention from her moms.
but Wanda and Natasha make a conscious effort to keep that from happening every chance they can.
Alexei Lev Maximoff-Romanoff
15 years old
“Alex”
biological son of Wanda and the same donor as his older siblings
He’s named after Natasha’s father, but he goes by Alex for similar to reasons to PJ.
Conceived at a point when everyone believed Natasha was not pregnant, he’s only four months younger than his sister.
So together they are kinda like Wanda and Nat’s second set of twins
…except also not.
The one thing to know about Alex, is that he is a class clown.
The class clown of all class clowns
The Class Clown King, if you will
Since he was very little, he’s always trying to make people laugh.
So much so, that it tended to get him in trouble at school with an ill-timed or disruptive joke.
Though now that he is in high school, he has managed to bring his number of detentions down to one a semester.
Only a freshman and he’s trying to start a comedy club at school.
His joking spirit is why he so easily agrees to many of PJ’s practical jokes. Sharing a room with his older brother makes their scheming even easier.
When he’s not in school or trying to make someone laugh, he likes to swim in the local swim league.
He’s not the fastest, but he manages to keep up.
Max Samuel Maximoff-Romanoff
12 years old
originally born Maxwell Jonathan Samuels VI (the sixth)
adopted by Wanda and Natasha when he is two years old
When they adopted him, they decided to keep the name he knew, except changing his middle name to a shortened version of his original last name.
not to honor his parents(you’ll see why in a second), but as more of an homage to all of the Samuels family line that made it possible for Max to even be alive today.
They weren’t exactly trying to add to their family at the time, but this little guy practically fell in their laps,
and then immediately into their hearts as well.
Nat first met Max when she and her partner at the time took a call to his house for a domestic dispute.
While trying to deescalate the situation with the man and woman, Natasha noticed a very young child watching the whole thing.
By his size, he couldn’t be but maybe a year or year and a half old max (pun intended).
He was a bit dirty which was a bit of a red flag, but between PJ and Alex, she knows how little boys can be. She decides to give his parents the benefit of the doubt on it.
Natasha’s partner took care of the parents, and she took care of little man.
First thing she noticed is that he was so sweet.
He smiled when she picked him up and played with her for a couple hours while the whole ordeal was settled and a next of kin came to pick him up.
She was called out to that address twice more.
Once for a suspicion of hard substance abuse which ended up being unfounded at the time, but the condition of the house had greatly deteriorated.
Natasha found Max alone in his room with a handful of bruises in multiple stages of healing. He was a little dirty and very hungry.
With not enough evidence to do anything more, they had to leave, but Nat put in a report to child services immediately.
She was called out there again only a few weeks later when a woman called in saying she found a missing child. A stranger found Max in only a diaper completely alone wandering outside in the street.
The blessed woman scooped him up out of harms way and sat with him on the sidewalk until police showed up.
When Natasha pulls up, he somehow recognizes her from the previous two times he’s seen her and immediately runs into her arms.
She scoops him up in a hug and walks him across the street to his house, where she finds both his parents passed out on the couch clearly intoxicated.
While she is happy to see sweet Max again, it’s safe to say Nat’s angry.
She’s absolutely enraged.
She arrests both parents on the spot for child neglect with a suspicion of child abuse (three strikes, am I right?)
Natasha hates to part with the little guy, but he is taken into child services until his parents situation is figured out.
A few months later, Max’s parents where also charged with several drug charges along with the child abuse and neglect charges.
They were found guilty on all and will be in prison for a very, very long time,
and Max was being put up for adoption.
The day she heard that, Natasha went home and after the kids were asleep, she all but begged Wanda to consider.
“He’s the sweetest kid.”
“His parents were screaming at each other in the other room and he was just happy to play with me.”
“He recognized me.”
“He spent all day alone in the sun, but he smiled and ran straight to me.”
“You’d love him, detka.”
It didn’t take much convincing to have her wife agreeing to consider,
and after only one visit with Max, Wanda’s decided he is theirs.
The two mothers spent a few hours playing with the boy inside the child services center.
He ended up falling asleep in Wanda’s arms. She hated the thought of him waking up without them there.
She hated the thought of leaving this building without him even more,
but the visit was over.
Nat and Wanda both kissed his head and whispered to the sleeping boy, assuring they will see him again soon, and one day they’ll be together for good.
Many visits and several weeks later, they finally take him home.
Max’s four older siblings loved him on sight. They all wanted to play with him and fought over who got to sit next to him at the dinner table.
He fits in like he was always meant to be there, because he was.
He is a total snuggle bug which his moms savor before he gets older and reaches out for them less.
However as he grows up and gets more independent, he keeps his sweet nature.
If he sees someone is sad or not feeling well, he always does something to make them smile and feel a little better.
When his little brothers were born, he was moved into the room with his older brothers.
He’s happy because that makes him one of the big kids now!
Like Alex, he likes to swim.
He is definitely the most supportive kid on the team. At swim meets he is constantly running around trying to cheer on all of his friends during their different races.
Now I know no one can know the future, but he’s gonna be a nurse when he grows up.
Trust me on this one.
He knows about his birth parents.
Where they are, why they’re there(as much as a child needs to know and as much as his moms think is appropriate), but he has no memory of them or his adoption.
If he’s asked, he’d probably tell you he’s always been a Maximoff-Romanoff.
Really he was, even before they met him, he belonged with them.
Thomas Ivan Maximoff-Romanoff
7 years old
“Tommy”
one of the “little twins”
biological son of Wanda and a male donor
older twin brother of Billy,
but he’s born only 2 minutes before his brother, so “older twin” doesn’t really mean much here.
If these two had been Natasha and Wanda’s first set of twins, there’s a high possibility they would have been their last kids.
It’s not like they are terrible trouble makers, they are just so rambunctious.
So much energy compacted into so small bodies.
They are the typical set of brothers.
They like to play rough and can be very rowdy. They run around outside and get dirty and catch bugs. Then sometimes, they are so focused on a video game, there is no getting through to them.
The moment Tommy learned to walk, he ran all. the. time.
and he runs fast.
Almost faster than PJ, but unlike his brother, he doesn’t want to really play sports, like soccer or football where speed would be a favorable tool.
No, he doesn’t like the objectives and the rules and trying to get a ball in a net or across a line.
He just likes to run really fast in one direction.
Luckily this year he’s old enough to start running track, which is the perfect extra curricular for him.
Currently he’s in grade school, and he hates when his teachers seem to pay more attention to him than some of the other kids.
“It’s because I’m not as smart as Billy. That’s why they hate me!”
but that’s not true, his moms reassure him.
“You are twins, not clones. You have different strengths, and that is perfectly fine. They just want to help you utilize yours.”
William Olek Maximoff-Romanoff
7 years old
“Billy”
one of the “little twins”
biological son of Wanda and a male donor
younger twin brother of Tommy
It was Natasha who first brought up the idea of having another baby.
The twins were 10, Y/n and Alex were 8, Max was 5,
and suddenly baby fever set in.
“just one more, detka please”
…well “just one more” turned out to be 2 more.
At the first ultrasound, Nat almost passed out much to Wanda’s amusement.
“You knew twins run in my family.”
Just like that their family of 7 became a family of 9.
The older kids, especially Lena, love to help out. “Baby duty” was the only favorable chore.
Very early, they could tell that Billy was smart.
exceptionally smart
As he went through school, this became very apparent.
his scores? highest in the class.
He does extra credit he didn’t need.
Oh, the science fair? He won that.
every year.
He even sometimes sneaks Tommy the answers to their homework when moms aren’t looking. Of course, they notice it every time.
He is one of the strongest players on the chess team.
Nat loves to sit and play chess with him.
When she was first teaching him, she would let him win every now and again. Now, sometimes she has to actually work to keep up with him.
Out of all Wanda’s children, Billy is the one who will never decline to watching sitcoms with her.
When he’s not running around with Tommy, he’s probably hiding somewhere with his nose in a book.
Anastasia Melina Maximoff-Romanoff
3 years old
sometimes referred to as Ana
adopted by Wanda and Natasha when she is only three months old.
Like before, they weren’t looking to have another child.
They were actually against it almost.
7 kids=101 kids, at least that’s what it feels like.
“No more” they agreed.
Then Bruce, a friend of theirs who works as a doctor in the local hospital, asks Wanda to cater an event at the hospital, which her restaurant doesn’t normally do, but for a friend of course she makes an exception.
When she arrives to set up for the event, she goes to find Bruce and he is clearly upset about something.
After some prompting, he begins tell Wanda about the newborn baby girl that was dropped on the steps of the hospital.
She had a cleft lip and a severe lung infection (which she shouldn’t have survived) that will probably leave her with lasting breathing difficulties.
They’ve been treating her for almost 2 months. Her condition is improving, but her lungs are too weak for her to be released.
Worse than that, she is up for adoption, and the process is not going well.
The caseworker assured the hospital that a newborn would be adopted almost immediately, but a month goes by and no one comes.
Not even a case worker has come to visit this tiny girl fighting for her life.
Bruce is so frustrated because he just got off the phone with the caseworker who told him that essentially she’s on the “unwanted list”.
Because of her health issues, she is a less desirable child for adopting parents.
They tell him, these kids usually stay in the system until they age out.
Wanda’s heart drops at the idea of an innocent child never having parents because of a condition that she has no control over.
Bruce shows her a picture of a beautiful baby girl with an oxygen mask and tubes seemingly all over her body. She wears a beanie that is stitched with the name Jane
“How did you know her name?”
Bruce looks down sheepishly, “we don’t… one of the nurses makes them for the Jane Doe’s”
That makes Wanda angry.
She doesn’t even have a name.
After the event, Wanda goes home and breaks down as she lays in bed. Nat holds her, and Wanda sobs as she tells the story.
At the end, they share a look. No words are spoken but a conversation is definitely held.
The mothers decide to think it over for a while.
Less than a week later, they call their case manager.
The process is fast, way faster than Max’s adoption.
It’s like the agency is scared to lose prospective parents for an “unwanted child.”
Nat and Wanda hate that term.
They want their daughter off that list.
She is wanted fiercely.
Two weeks later, they sign the papers.
Anastasia Melina is officially theirs.
She spends another month in the hospital. While the kids are at school, Wanda spends all day with their baby sister. Nat always stops to see Anastasia before she goes home after work. Being friends with their daughter’s doctor helps them sneak around visiting hours.
After the adoption, Anastasia’s condition improves quickly.
Like she knows she has a home and family now, and she can’t be with them until she’s better.
Finally she is strong enough to leave the hospital.
They take her home, and begin life as a family of 10.
Once home Anastasia thrives.
After a surgery for her lip and breathing treatments multiple times a day to strengthen her lungs, she looks nothing like the frail baby in the picture Bruce showed Wanda.
She grows up as the family’s little Princess. Only 3 years old, she is not letting asthma keep her down.
Her big sisters cherish her, finally not just the two of them with all those brothers.
As for all those brothers… let’s just say she has 5 built in personal body guards, and she loves them all.
She absolutely adores her big sisters.
She wants to dance ballet like Lena.
One day, she put on her tutu and little ballet slippers she got for her birthday and ran to Lena.
“I do bawet(ballet) pwease?”
Happily her big sister complies.
She teaches her positions and light warm ups that she’s seen the coaches teach the little little dancers.
Unknown to them Nat watches silently from the doorway, heart full to the brim.
Sometimes if she can hear music coming from Y/n’s door, she will sneakily open the door and dance in the living room to the music.
One day someone closes the door while she’s dancing. So she scoots down the stairs to Y/n’s room.
“Can I dance to your bawet music?”
She squeals when her sister says yes. Anastasia twists around the room while Y/n continues practicing.
Y/n was actually about to quit for the day when Ana came down, but instead she played until the toddler was worn out.
“Can you pway Ewsa?”
Not wanting to tell her no, Y/n plays Let It Go by ear giving it her best try. It’s not perfect, but apparently more than enough for her little sister.
The toddler quickly drags her upstairs to show Mommy. As Anastasia and Wanda listen to her play, she is heard playing throughout the house.
Lena looks up from the couch and asks if she can play a Taylor Swift song. Again Y/n plays by ear and memory.
This rapidly evolved into a kind of game where the family sat and just kept suggesting songs for Y/n to play at random. For the most part she kept up.
After that, the activity would pop up in family game nights every now and again. always requested for by Anastasia.
and let’s be real, no one can say no to her.
She loves all things pink, and lives up to her nickname of Princess. She loves dress up and make believe.
She is a gem the family didn’t know they were missing.
She is a total Mama and Mommy’s girl, which is perfectly fine for them.
They soak it up knowing for sure this is the very last time they will have a child this young again.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
The air smells different.
You expected it to. The landscape has changed after so many years, but it has still thrown you off kilter. You haven't returned to Tatyana's grave site in many years. It was cowardly, but you just couldn't.
You didn't feel like you had the right to. It felt wrong to have killed Tatyana and then sit at her grave and mourn. She would've loved it, though, and she'd probably want you to sit there uncomfortable and discontent. As much as it would've been a part of your punishment, you only visited a handful of times throughout the first couple of decades. You had less time once you encountered David, dealing with his newborn tendencies.
"So, what exactly are we looking for? A gravesite?" Tony asks, his helmet coming off momentarily as he surveys the area. It looked like a quaint little town. Modernized with time, but it was still out in the countryside. The air was still brisk, but it was warming with springtime emerging. You hear children and their parents preparing for the day in the distance, and it’s rather nostalgic.
"No," you shook your head. "I didn't bury her near anyone. I don't believe the villagers would've accepted having their murderer buried amongst their dead. There had been a flower field miles away that I laid her to rest at." You look around. "Although it's hard to tell if it will still even be there or if something was built over it."
"Can't you, like, I don't know—smell it?" Tony gestures at nothing in particular.
You roll your eyes. "I'm not a bloodhound. This was centuries ago, there'd be nothing left to smell even if I could pick something up this far."
You keep walking, leading the group, because you smell something even if you can't smell Tatyana's grave. You have yet to mention it to the group since you're unsure what it could be and don't want to get everyone more riled up when they're already so tense.
The moment you walk far enough between towns, an area excluded away from civilization just past the trees, something inside you clicks.
"It's here," you furrow your brows.
"What's wrong?" Natasha asks.
"I—" but you can't finish the sentence as there are a thousand footsteps at once. On the other side of the clearing, vampires are marching.
"Shit," Steve says.
"Language," Tony says, but it lacks its teasing tone.
Everyone buckles up, raising their weapons as the vampires begin to pick up their pace into a run toward you. You and the team begin to run to meet them, but before either side can reach the middle, there's a strong blast of magic, hitting the ground and nearly splitting it.
"I don't remember giving orders to move."
You smell her before you see her.
Spice and hydrangea override your sensories.
All you can smell is her—the memories. It's the smell of eggs, slightly burnt cinnamon, herbs, the laundry, the river, and grass, and no one could ever understand it, but you could smell the warmth. You smelled somewhere—someone you used to call home.
Smelling her just felt like you were losing everything all over, and to see her? Your breath hitches in a way that feels like it's slicing against your lungs.
"Fuck," you murmur. "It's really you."
Tatyana descends upon the field, her soldiers parting to make way for her. She looks just the way she did those few blissful weeks before everything went downhill—before you lost her. Her defined cheekbones, mauve lips, and sage green eyes that felt like she could always see right through you.
The field was noisy, settling down into a quiet murmur, but none of it mattered. None of it matters because Tatyana's eyes held yours as she looked at you as if it was just the two of you on the field.
"My love," her husk voice whispers, but you can hear it clear as bells.
You feel like you're being constricted, her voice and eyes strangling the life out of every thought you could have possibly been having that wasn't about her.
Natasha watches the scene unfold before her, unsure what to make of it. She hasn't ever seen you like this, even as you talked about her. But perhaps this was the issue. You always talked about her in a past-tense fashion. Tatyana had been nothing but a wounded memory that left scars all over you. Even when you encountered her previously, she was always in someone else's body.
But now, she was in front of you, clearly alive and unchanged. Seeing Tatyana must've brought you back to the 1600s just before everything went awry.
Natasha looks over at Wanda, who's struggling to decide what she feels. There's a definite burning hatred there. Wanda wasn't sure she could ever forgive the manipulations and the last encounter. And for a moment, she hated that she had done the same to others with her powers. Yet, there was a displaced longing. This woman was related to her by blood—another family member when she thought there was just Pietro.
"Sveti kurac," Pietro curses. "She really does look like you."
Tatyana turns her head then towards the twins, assessing them. "How misguided," she sniffs with a crinkle in her nose. Her accent is thick as she says, "she looks like me."
Wanda bristles at the tone and words. She could practically feel Tatyana's insinuation that Wanda was a poor imitation to replace her. She narrows her eyes, conjuring up her magic.
"Feisty," Tatyana chuckles like it's some kind of joke. "It's precious you think you can beat me, child."
Heat floods Wanda at the condescending tone.
"I had the upper hand on this battlefield," Tatyana cocks her brow. "Don't tell me you fools came here thinking I wouldn't have cast runes all over this place."
"My magic's still working, is it not?" Wanda smirks as she raises her hand, sending a blast of magic forward, only for it to make it out a few feet before fizzling away.
Tatyana bursts out laughing, hand over her mouth before she slides it up her face and through her hair, smirking. She turns to look at you, "I know the alternative to you not showing up here would've been devastating, but you were a bad girl, not preparing them more to come here."
You were stricken but trying to gather yourself and not show it. You take a deep breath. "What exactly is it that you want?" You stare on with no emotion.
It's then that Tatyana's expression changes. Gone with the amusement, and in came the narrowed anger. Her eyes narrowed, jaw clenched with a pinched brow.
"Don't ask ridiculous questions," she hisses at you.
"What?" You taunt her. "Don't tell me you're still chasing your delusional ambitions of ruling the humans." You look around, gazing at the improved artificial vampire army that seems to hover, just waiting for Tatyana's command. "They're better than the last batch, but they'll never be the real thing."
"I don't need them to be the real thing," Tatyana cocks her brow. "I just need them to get the job done." But Tatyana doesn't reveal exactly what job that is.
You pinch your brows, trying to appear annoyed rather than shaken. "Tatyana, just—stop," you sigh almost pleadingly. "Let it go. Let go of your anger at the humans."
But Tatyana just laughs, and it's hollow sounding. "You must not think about me at all anymore if you think I'm angry at the humans."
"Angry at me then?" You push. "There's nothing I could ever say to justify what I've done but I think the punishment you've left me and the fact that I'll live with what I did for the rest of my life is enough."
Tatyana just shakes her head. "I'm not going to talk about this here with you," she says and holds out her hand. "You've had your fun, and I've indulged your dalliances long enough. It's time to return to me."
There's a moment when you hesitate. There was a time in your life when this would've been all you wanted. You felt like you were walking around with half your spirit carved out for a long time. You missed Tatyana so bad some days that you wanted to join her, if not for Leo and then David. You would sleep if only to dream about a life where you and she had everything. Sometimes you would stay awake to avoid dreaming. Tatyana had been the rising and falling of everything to you.
But—you take a deep breath—that was just a moment in time.
"No," you tell her softly, but you know everyone can hear it. "That time of our life is gone, Tatyana."
"Don't make me ask twice," Tatyana calmly states, keeping her hand out, but there's a wisp of blue around her finger as she curls it, beckoning you.
You feel the magic jerk you forward, and the titillating of your center of gravity throws you off from fighting it. But before you can move further, Natasha and Wanda grip both sides of your wrist, grounding you.
You look gratefully at the two, your eyes soft as they smile back at you.
The intimacy of it brings a wave of white, hot anger into Tatyana. "How dare you interrupt us," she hisses.
"You made it everyone's business by bringing us all out here," Natasha gives her signature raised brow. "And it's certainly mine and Wanda's business. Hasn't anyone ever told you no means no? You're almost no better than a man at this point."
Tatyana narrows her eyes at Natasha, disgust written all over her features as she glares at the redhead agent. But she doesn't say anything, as if deigning that Natasha wasn't worth speaking to, let alone her time.
Suddenly, she snaps her fingers. Without words, the army of vampires begins charging again, and everyone has their hands full. Natasha and Wanda have to let go of you to beat off the crowding vampires, but the short moment of their hold has you able to stand on your feet again. Tatyana can't use her magic to try to pull you again, not when you're used to her magic and can throw it off.
Everyone's holding their own, and Tatyana seems to be refraining from joining the fight, and you're still trying to figure out why. You look around, and Wanda can only cast magic within a few feet of herself, meaning she has to be close to her enemies. Natasha's style of fighting naturally is close range. For the most part, everyone's is. With the exception of Pietro, who can run circles around everyone, and Tony, who can use his suit to fly, everyone is bound to the ground.
Tatyana seems to realize this within minutes of watching everyone fight. She uses magic to conjure something in her palms before sending multiple blasts toward Tony's. They hit him in quick succession at his feet and back. He can't move out of the way in time, busy above trying to shoot off two vampires on Steve's back. Nothing happens immediately. But then, roots begin to grow out from the bottom, breaking the repulsors in his feet, and he starts to drop from the sky. He tries to engage the jetpack in his back but nothing comes out.
Tony instantly begins trying to use the repulsors in his hands to slow the fall, but he isn't flying high enough from the ground. He's going to land right into a horde of vampires waiting to rip him apart. Tony could send missiles to kill them, but he might get caught in the blast.
"Tony!" Steve yells, using his shield to brutally jab into a vampire's shoulder over and over to release his leg. He starts running, but Steve knows he's not going to make it in time, and it's chilling.
"Steve!" Pietro yells as he begins to run. "Hold your shield up and brace yourself!"
Steve doesn't even hesitate. The time spent hunting for Bucky with the young man has earned his trust. Pietro barrels into Steve’s back, keeping his feet planted on the ground as he uses his powers to run the both of them. Steve's shield barrels into the group of vampires, knocking them over with a brutal force from the speed.
When it looks like just the perfect spot, Pietro stops pushing Steve before grabbing his shield and using it to slam into the rest of the vampires surrounding the area.
Steve catches Tony, but it knocks them both to the ground. You can hear the wind being knocked out of Steve's lungs, but it doesn't sound like anything is broken.
"Just for that," Tony sounds breathless. "I won't make fun of you for a week."
"At least two weeks, Stark," Steve huffs as the two get up.
Natasha only catches moments of it from the corner of her eye. She must be careful not to let the enemies in front of her land a blow. Wanda's got her back, but she can tell it's frustrating the young witch her powers are being limited.
"I have to find where she cast the runes," Wanda says. "If I can, there's a chance I can destroy them and get my full magic back."
The advantage of that would be overwhelming and could lead them to a possible victory. So far, Tatyana has refrained from joining the fight, but they might all be fucked if that ever changed.
As Natasha wraps her legs around a vampire's body, swinging her way up as she locks his neck in, she uses her widow bites to stun him as she works her way into breaking his neck. She uses that moment to look at how David and Liam are faring.
David is easily holding his own, watching out for Liam, who stays at the back as support with his alchemy. He seems to be attempting to cast a big spell.
Tatyana sneers as she realizes there's an alchemist amongst the group. "William! Are you going to stand back and have me do all the work?"
You tense, expecting something to shift. When nothing happens after a moment, the tension in your shoulders relax just slightly.
Suddenly, the air changes.
When a man—no, a predator—steps out from behind a tree, you feel something horrible.
If seeing the predator in you could make people feel the hair on the body stand, seeing him was like having the first layer of your skin peel off.
"No need to get yourself in a huff," he rolls his eyes. "You're losing your touch, dear. You can't even take care of a few measly enhanced humans and two vampires?"
He was tall and muscular but not overly so. He had long black hair that would've been popular during the olden days, just sitting at his shoulders. He looked unassuming, but you knew better.
"Don't call me dear," Tatyana snaps at him, but he ignores her.
Williams looks at you. "Hm," he hums. "You look familiar. Did I change you? But your venom doesn't quite smell like mine."
But you're wordless.
All these years...these centuries, and this has never happened to you.
You've never bumped into a vampire older than you.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
William changes the battlefield. What once might've been a possibility of winning quickly becomes closer to being annihilated. Both you and David team up to take on William, trying to be more strategic than using brute power that you both know won't win.
Everyone's busy handling their own fights, but they can't help but watch for the first time to see you outclassed. You brought your elbow into William's rib while David had him in a headlock. Natasha knows that the force alone should've obliterated the bones into dust, and it would've if it were anyone else.
But William merely grunts as he whips the back of his hand into your face, the force of it knocking you miles and miles away into the distance, breaking trunks of trees as you hit them.
Natasha and Wanda scream your name, horrified. They try to take off after you, but suddenly a horde of vampires conjugate into a wall in front of them by force. They look up and see Tatyana floating just above them, smirking.
They all knew this was a possibility, that this was what Tatyana wanted from the beginning. Yet, seeing it happen and being so utterly unable to prevent it is devastating.
"No!" Wanda yells in desperation. She turns around in circles frantically, looking for where Tatyana would've placed the runes.
Natasha's trying to formulate a plan. If she uses her grappling hook, she can try to aim at the trees over the vampires. She might break a leg, but it was better than nothing, wasn't it? It was better than not doing anything at all and watching you be taken.
"I told you, you stupid, little human," Tatyana sneers. "You're only meant for one lifetime and that lifetime is over." She uses her magic to begin toppling the vampires down towards them, meaning to crush them.
Natasha instantly turns to Wanda, running towards her and grabbing her before using the grappling hook. Pietro seems to notice them immediately as she shoots toward him. He moves out of the way of the hook that doesn’t catch anything but grabs onto the rope. With all his might, he runs with the rope, yanking it harshly to get them out of the way of the falling bodies.
Wanda holds onto Natasha tightly, using her magic to create a barrier around their bodies to protect their necks and any damage done to their bodies as it hits the ground.
Wanda wants to sob at the realization that you're gone. Natasha doesn't even feel like she has the time to process it as she watches William grab onto David's arm, crushing it under his grip.
David lets out a painful hiss as his grip loosens, and he's flung from Williams' back into the ground. It cracks as a tiny crater is formed where he lands. David can instantly feel all his ribs break, his legs are mangled, and the back of his head in danger of cracking.
William turns back to where Tatyana took off, stunned that she had simply left and wasn't coming back for him. Rage overtakes his face as he realizes he's been abandoned.
"David!" Natasha yells, running towards him, but he screams at her.
"Don't you fucking dare come closer!" David yells, and it's the first time she's heard him curse like that. "Get out! Get out of here now!"
Natasha wants to scream that she can't—she can't just leave him there. You'd absolutely hate her for it. David seems to think something similar: you'll hate him if you let Natasha and Wanda die here.
This line of work has always taught Natasha there were sacrifices, and you had to live with them. You don't get to question someone else's sacrifice. This was a losing battle, and the only way to survive was if they got to the Quinjet now.
But by the time that happened, what would be left of David? Could she get his brutalized body back from William so he could recover? There has to be some blood bags on the Quinjet, and she could give him her blood if not. He'd heal. He had to.
The idea of recovery gets shot to shit when William pulls out a wooden dagger. And they all know what it's made of.
William means to end it and end it permanently.
"Go!" David yells as William steps closer, hovering over David with his two arms raised, holding the dagger.
Natasha doesn't want to watch, but she can’t tear her eyes away. Wanda's summoning her magic even though she knows she's too far away, and angry tears are spilling out of her eyes. Pietro starts to dig his heel into the ground towards David. Steve throws his shield to the speedster, who catches it with ease. Tony uses one hand to attack the vampires between him and Steve while his other repulsor is pointed towards William, charging up.
Willam's speed nearly matches Pietro, his hands coming down so quickly.
It's over.
God, it was fucking over.
.
.
.
Hiss.
.
.
.
It was small at first. But then suddenly—
CRACK.
The entire field is lit up, lightning and vines zipping through them at an unstoppable force. They take hold of every artificial vampire in the area, grasping them in a vice-like grip. The lightning surrounds it in a second hold, squeezing tighter and tighter until they disintegrate.
William only pauses momentarily at the change on the field before a blur barrels into him ferally. The air leaves his lungs with a grunt. He drops the dagger on the ground, and Pietro scrambles to grab it and take off.
With no artificial vampires left on the field to battle, they all scramble toward David to help him.
They all watch, stunned.
The two bodies rolled on the ground over and over until William landed with force on his back.
And Liam on top.
Liam's eyes were pitch black, and his fangs bared as he snarled at William, snapping his jaws at him. William was surprisingly having a difficult time pushing Liam away, and it seemed Liam was using all his strength and alchemy to force William down.
It wasn't until Liam managed to bite into William's forearm that the man let out a piercing scream as poisonous venom was injected into him. Liam held tight, nearly taking a chunk out of William's arm before he released, biting again just a few inches over.
William began punching Liam in the head with his other arm until he was released. He crouches his legs in, pressing them against Liam’s pelvis as he uses them to knock Liam off of him.
Liam gracefully flips over and lands on his feet. Blood spilled out of his mouth and down his chin as he stood, and he wiped it away on the back of his hand.
"Leave," Liam growled, his eyes still black. "You won't win today."
William considers staying to fight, but he looks at the vines, still moving around. Also, the venom in his arm still pulsates with burning pain. He sniffs. He needs Liam's venom to reverse it; it's not his—
But then William narrows his eyes.
"You."
Liam doesn't respond to it, merely repeating, "Leave."
William snarls at the loss.
“Your venom,” William spits. “You know I can only delay the inevitable.”
Liam nods and they both tense as he blurs over to William, biting his hand before he runs back to create distance between the two.
William only gives him a withering glare before he turns and disappears.
Liam turns, and they all watch, slack-jawed. His eyes are still black, and it makes everyone's hackle rise. But it's like he doesn't register them; he just keeps walking until he's kneeling in front of David.
Liam assesses the damage to see if his venom can fix it temporarily. When he determines it can't, he bites deeply into his own wrist. When he releases, blood starts overflowing, and he immediately places it over David's mouth, who begins to drink greedily.
"What are you doing?" Natasha finds her voice first.
"Blood-sharing," Liam answers. "The blood in his own body is already working overtime and its priorities will always be major organs and the head. I fed before we came, so it should be potent enough to at least heal his arms, legs, and some of his ribs."
"You shouldn't," David mutters weakly, trying to speak and not let any blood escape his mouth. "You'll end up feral if you give me too much."
Natasha quickly connects the dots to why David didn't blood-share during the aftermath of Ultron.
Liam smiles weakly, his eyes slowly returning to normal when it seems like David will be okay. "We'll make do."
"If it's not enough, I'll give you mine," Natasha offers without hesitation.
David smiles thankfully at her. It's then that the Quinjet comes into view with Pietro flying it.
"We...we can't leave," Wanda suddenly says, her eyes welling with tears again. "We can't leave without her."
The heavy loss of you settles over everyone.
"It's okay," Liam says before he lifts his wrist away from David, licking the wound and sealing it up. "Tatyana won't hurt her. She probably can't even take her outside the city."
"How do you know?" Wanda hisses.
"Who the hell are you?" Tony finally asks. "Aren't you supposed to be human? What the hell was all of that?”
"You're clearly older than our two vampires. You're as strong as that William guy," Steve says carefully, assessing the vampire before him.
Liam sighs, running his hand through his hair. "I was William's apprentice. I only got the advantage with all your help to distract him and the fact he was blindsided from seeing me again. If it had just been me, it's possible even my alchemy couldn't kill him."
Liam looked directly at Natasha and Wanda.
"William is my maker, but I'm Elaine's."
Everyone is sitting back in the Compound, nursing their wounds. They sit around Tony's lab as he silently works on repairing his suit, and Tony is uncharacteristically quiet.
Steve was wiping blood from his brow, inspecting if the cut on it needed to be stitched back together. He, Tony, and Pietro were planning on heading back out to see if they could find any traces of you.
Steve's phone blinked with a message that he quickly checked from Sam.
Found him. Slippery little bastard, but I'll see if I can set a trap.
Steve lets out a tiny smile before sighing and putting away his phone. He feels disconcerted that you've been taken. He wonders at this point if you and Bucky will ever get to meet.
"Speak now," Wanda hisses, "and speak quickly."
"What are you?" Natasha asks without hesitation. "How can you be a vampire and also use alchemy? Those seem to oppose each other if one is meant to be a power to be able to protect themselves from the other."
"How the hell could I not sense you were a vampire?" David mutters, mostly to himself in disbelief. "Vampires are always able to sense each other. It's like a primal instinct that we recognize in each other. And I never saw you feed and we were together almost all the time!"
Liam sighs, almost overwhelmed by all the questions directed at him. "Alchemy is a neutral power but only humans are able to receive it. It has to do with their natural blood. Humans, specifically priests, just used it as so to protect themselves from being prey. I had the gift for it as a human, but it was too weak to fully manifest. Once I was turned, the venom in me unlocked something."
Turning to David, he looked apologetic before pointing to the alchemy spells down his left arm. "This keeps an illusion spell up. It makes it so you can't recognize the predator in me, but I have to be careful because if I force any kind of vampire instincts like bloodlust up, it breaks through the spell. I don't have to feed as often as you being as old as I am, but when I did, I took advantage of the times we were apart."
The room is silent, trying to process the information. Steve and Tony left to see if they could find any trace of you and if they could find any information about where William would be hiding.
"Let me start from the beginning," Liam sighs. "About who I am and everything that has happened to come to this moment."
Wanda has her lip curled in disdain but doesn't say anything. Natasha places her arm on Wanda's elbow, and the girl softens just a moment, leaning into the spy as they all quiet to listen.
Flashback
~1400s to 1600s~
The world was an unnaturally quiet place. At least to Liam. The markets were bustling, and people constantly moved during the day, but that noise never registered with him. Liam took in the days slowly with little to no rush, despite how much it would annoy his father and siblings.
But being the youngest did come with perks. They were generally much more lenient with him, and his mother seemed to hide the fact she'd allow him a taste of whatever was being made for the day first. It was a quiet life, and Liam hadn't minded one bit.
Despite the feeling that something was rumbling just underneath his skin and the crops he grew were always somehow much better than everyone else's, Liam liked his quiet life.
Moments of curiosity beckoned him to venture outside their quaint little farm and markets. Sometimes he stood out at the edge and looked out as if he could see anything beyond the horizon.
He couldn't leave, though.
Even if Liam wanted to see what he could do outside of growing crops, his family didn't need the uncertainty of waiting for him.
But just like how their little life was quiet, death comes just as quietly. Famine spreads through their lands, and Liam only manages to keep the crops alive a little longer than everyone else. One by one, they starve to death.
Being the youngest was a curse, always being given everything there was until he was the last one standing. Hunger gnawed at his stomach as he finally ventured past their quaint little farm and markets.
Hungry.
He was so hungry.
Liam thought about what he could do. Should he try to grow more crops? But the land had suddenly become unsuitable. He was quick with picking up things. Maybe he could try to find a merchant and learn the trade. Only can't remember the last time he saw a merchant pass by. Perhaps he should find a temple and look for work there. He'd have to shave his head, though.
And even as he stumbled upon a gruesome feeding man feeding on another man, Liam stood there motionlessly.
"Oh," the amused voice turned to look at him. "What have you stumbled upon, lost little boy?"
The words were difficult to understand. The man was white-skinned, clearly not from around here, but he had stayed long enough to learn the language from the locals.
"I'm not a boy," Liam shook his head and replied slowly so the man could process his words. His voice felt raspy from the lack of use.
"Could've fooled me," the man laughed lowly. "I can practically see your bones. You wouldn't even be a good feed."
"How can you eat him?" Liam asked as he looked upon the dead body, neck ripped open with blood running down. "Won't you get sick?"
The man raised his brow in amusement. It was strange that Liam didn't seem perturbed, but he supposed they had been experiencing famine for quite some time now. At this point, it was probably eat or be eaten.
"I won't get sick," the man told Liam, smiling sinisterly. "I'm a demon. I will never starve because there will always be blood."
It was quiet for a long moment, and the man wondered if Liam would turn to run. Liam was sweating at his brow and lip half-turned in a frown. Maybe he was too weak to even run away.
The man thinks that the thought of eating him doesn't even seem appealing. Maybe he'll just kill him and be on his way.
"Can I become a demon too?" Liam finally asks, locking eyes with the man, not flinching from their glowing redness. "If I become a demon, then I can live, right?"
The man stared, mouth agape. He starts laughing before he drops the body he's holding. "Fascinating, fascinating," he crooned. "It certainly won't be for free."
"I don't have money," Liam told him immediately. "If I had money, I would be searching for food to buy."
The man snorts. "I don't need money. Anything in this world is mine to take." He walks a slow circle around Liam. "What I want is an apprentice. I have plans, and my last one...didn't last very long."
Liam nodded.
The man smiled, but there was no comfort from it. "I must warn you, I don't have the patience to change you slowly. This will burn." He stepped closer, grabbing a fistful of Liam's hair and yanking his head back. "Welcome to the coven. My name is William, but you will refer to me as master."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
William was a radical. There was no telling how long William was around since he rarely spoke about himself. All Liam knew was that William wanted more demons like him. Secretly, Liam could only surmise that being alone for so long must've been lonely. Being lonely for too long does something to your head.
A century passed by. It didn't feel as quiet as it did when Liam was human. It felt like something was pulsating under his skin, making his bones ache. Liam encountered many priests before, seeing what they called ‘God's power.’ The more they used it around him, the more something inside him resonated—the more it felt like something was about to come out.
But Willi—his master would kill him. If Liam did what he believed he could, he would die for it.
So, Liam started to study the priests from a distance. When he encountered them, he watched with rapt what they were doing, what they drew, and how they moved. When he finally got his hands on one of their 'incantation and hymn' books, he felt something different about his life for the first time.
Liam felt awake. There was a constant stream of excitement in his mind. He could copy the drawings in the book, but he needed someone to teach him how to read the incantations. The world had always moved so slowly, and now Liam couldn't help but want it to move faster.
The only time he could practice was when his master was away. Despite the initial resistance, Liam convinced William that building networks with humans was better. If he wanted to create more demons, then they needed more space.
They needed land and money and their influence to keep the pitchforks and fire away. It was much slower to accomplish, but it was working well.
Humans were naturally suspicious beings. Too much compulsion and out-of-the-ordinary behavior would have the priests marching right to them.
"How dare he!"
Liam folded the paper he was drawing on and slipped it into his pocket as he turned around to see William barge through the door and slam it shut.
"What's wrong, master?" Liam asked, no inflections in his tone.
"That Baron Hastings—" William huffed, and his face was flushed with anger. "Not only did he laugh at my proposal to invest, he actually dared to convince others not to invest, saying it was a dupe!"
Liam said nothing. Even though he knew whoever this Baron was, he was correct.
"Your idea of this route was foolish!" William gritted out before he ripped off his hat. "I've had enough of this sham. Tonight, we will raid Baron Hasting's estate and take him for all he has."
"Yes, master," Liam tilted his head in acknowledgment. There was no use trying to refute anything William said when he was in this state. He was rather impressed since it was at least a decade since the last time he's lost his temper like this.
The raid had been like it was every other time. The smell of massacre stopped making him nauseous long ago. Liam prefers to kill the servants by snapping their necks and only taking a bite or two out of them, if only to appease William. The overindulgence was intoxicating for a few short years before Liam decided that the smell of their fear during the massacre didn't make them taste as good. William thought otherwise.
As he finished up, he could hear something outside at the stables, but it was mostly covered by the sound of the Baron's wife screaming bloody murder. She wouldn't stop even as William threatened to kill her slowly if she didn't silence herself.
Liam took off out the back. The Baron did well for himself, seeing a small stable holding three horses. He wondered who the third horse was for since the Baron and his wife had no children, and it couldn't have been for any of the servants.
Then he gazed upon something he wasn't sure he'd ever seen.
You were shaking and crying in your fine, silk-green gown. You were well-groomed and obviously spoiled with luxury.
A mistress of the Barons, perhaps? How bold of you to be here while his wife was. But Liam inhaled deeply and tilted his head in confusion. While he did smell the Baron on you intimately, he could also smell the wife in the same way. The wife's scent was all around you, over you, inside you.
Strange, Liam thought. He didn't know that was possible.
"Please..." you whispered, eyes closing as you could hear a woman's scream again, tears running down your eyes. But you don't continue your sentence.
His bones felt achy again.
"Can you read?" Liam asked, causing you to look up unsurely. You looked like you wanted to bolt to see if you'd make it, but you stayed rooted.
You nod shakily nonetheless. "Yes, a little. The Baron and his wife were teaching me."
Liam nodded. "Master won't teach me to read."
You swallowed, trembling. You obviously were confused as to why this...this demon was talking to you instead of killing you. "Have you asked?"
Liam shook his head. "He doesn't like it if I do other things. If I ask, he'll just be angry. He only taught me this language because it makes it easier for him."
You were gripping the horse's reins tightly. "If you don't want to follow him, why do you?"
There was a blank look as Liam stared at you. "Master made me as I am. I'm not strong enough to beat him."
"Have you tried?"
"If I try and fail, then I'll die."
"If he's too strong, then you need to be smarter. The Baron says being smarter and playing the long game is far better than being stronger."
The words settle upon Liam like a blanket. His eyes sparkle as if he knows that he's smarter, and despite being a mere human, it was like your permission to be so was all he needed.
There was a heavy, pregnant pause.
"You can leave," Liam told you, gesturing back to the screaming with his head. "If you leave now, the master will probably not notice you. But you can't leave with the horse as it will make too much noise. You must walk, not run. Your heart is already beating so loud and running will make it worse."
"I—" you started to say but choked. The tears that welled up in your eyes earlier fall over your already tear-stained face. "I can't leave without them."
Liam tilted his head. "Why not?"
"The baroness is screaming so I can leave," you told him, choking on your sob. "The moment we heard the break-in, The Baron pushed us both out the back, but the Baroness knew we both couldn't escape. She left me here and went back in."
"Then you should leave," Liam reasoned. "If she did it for you, you should live."
"Just to die another day," you muttered, wiping your tears. "How do you leave the first person to show you that kind of love? I—I can't. I should be in there too."
Liam ponders the words. He kind of understands. He loved his family as much as he could. It was hard to leave their bodies behind, but he kept moving because they had given him every last morsel so he could keep going.
And while you did not show him anything remotely close to love, you did show him something. And the ache in his bones made him feel like he shouldn't leave you behind. Playing the long game, as you said, will require time. And in the end, Liam knows he can't do it alone.
"Then die as a human and join them," Liam resounded before he blurred over to you and bit your neck, releasing his venom. There was no scream from your mouth, just your jaw dropping in shock. The taste of fear in your blood repulses him a little, but he hangs on, draining you. He was sorry—genuinely sorry—unlike his master, who warned him with false regret in his voice. Liam was sorry that your change would be painful.
When Liam felt your pulse nearly stop, he released you. He looked back at the house that was slowly becoming quieter. The screams quelled. He hopes you don't remember much of this.
Tonight, you'll die as a human and join the Baron and Baroness.
Then...then you'll wake up a demon, and the long game begins.
Natasha and Wanda feel breathless as they listen to Liam. You told them your side of the story when you were changed, which was very little as you didn’t recall much outside of waking up with a burning pain and smelled the massacre.
To hear it from Liam’s side was…they didn’t know how to describe it. It made them want to hunch over and scream.
"I watched her in secret for many, many years. I managed to drag William from town to town. Not too close, obviously. That's how Tatyana and William met, I believe. I thought that Tatyana would've joined to get rid of William, but..." Liam rubbed the back of his head and didn't finish the sentence. "When Tatyana died, and Elaine became close to that priest, I saw it as an opportunity. I needed to learn alchemy and that priest and his family were going to be the only way. So, I escaped and went into hiding. William eventually stopped looking and continued to travel further away from me."
"How were you even able to get close without alerting them?" David asks with a frown. "She would've sensed you for sure if you didn't have your alchemy tattoos yet."
Liam shakes his head. "Your senses don't react the same way when you're near your maker. When you said you can always sense the predator in a vampire, what's actually happening is your venom senses other venoms. Your venom is unique to you, but it did come from your marker. Therefore, you can't sense it very well because your venom sees it as an extension of itself. While venom is unique to yourself, it does recognize shared venom. When you bite someone, only your venom can fully counteract it. But anyone in the same venomline as you can delay the poisoning, like a partial healing."
"Huh," David hums, holding his chin. "You learn something new every day. That explains why I never felt any alarms or hackles rise when I saw her. I thought it was because I recognized her as a coven mate, but that makes more sense when vampires form their own coven by changing others versus outsiders banding together."
Liam nods, smiling at David before continuing his story. "I learned a lot from Leonard by just watching and listening to him teach his children. They continued their traditions and upheld alchemy for a very, very long time. Until a child came that didn't have a gift, and they couldn't bear any more children."
"Robert," Natasha realizes, recalling the priest they met in Nashville. Liam nods. "He said you were adopted. They must've adopted you and thought you were, what, 17 at the most? How did you manage that? You look..." Natasha trails. "Older."
"The documents I forged officially said so, but I did learn enough fundamentals of alchemy to experiment on my own to change some of my features," Liam reveals. "I think his grandfather suspected but never attempted to find out. I was a prodigy once I had proper teachings and although awkward, sincere."
"Did you know?" Wanda demanded immediately. "Did you know Tatyana was alive?"
Liam is silent initially. "I suspected," he admits. "I couldn't quite keep tabs on William after I escaped, but his behavior was strange weeks leading up to Tatyana's death."
"We couldn't find even a trace of them." Steve and Tony burst through the doors together, looking tired, angry, and defeated. The news of your disappearance sets off everyone in the room. Angry tears well up in Wanda's eyes, that feeling of loss at her door again.
And she is so, so fucking tired of losing.
"You knew," Wanda hisses at Liam, malice laced in her tone. Her lips were pursed, and her eyes narrowed in an accusatory manner. "You knew all along that Tatyana was alive and would eventually come after us."
Wanda's eyes began to glow, her magic manifesting around her in angry, red wisps. "You knew and you let Tatyana take her!" Her magic bursts towards Liam, grabbing him like a vice. His body stiffens and jerks in her hold as he releases a gasp of pain.
"Wanda, wait!" David calls out to her, but it doesn't register. He tries to grab Liam to pull him out of Wanda's grasp, but he can't get Liam to even budge. David turns to everyone else in the room, but everyone is conflicted about whether or not to step in after finding out the truth about Liam. Steve looks like he wants to step in, but the anger about losing you keeps you rooted. He wants answers, and if Wanda can get them from Liam, he'll stay in place with his arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed.
"Nat," David turns to the redhead instead, his eyes pleading. "Please. Liam must've had his own reasons for not saying anything. We need all the help we can get."
Natasha purses her lips. She'd be more than content to let Wanda rip Liam to shreds. She's so unbelievably angry to the point where it feels like hot needles are pricking her and boiling her blood. You were right there. You had been right there in front of her, and Natasha lost you. There was nothing she could've done to save you, and that's what makes Natasha the angriest.
But it's the years of experience—the training she's endured all her life— that she can put aside her emotions and be rational. Natasha gently places her hand over Wanda's clenched hand. The warmth of her skin makes Wanda look at her, the anger in her eyes slowly dimming as she stares into Natasha's gentle look.
The red glow disappears from Wanda's eyes, the wisp drawing back into her. She releases Liam from her grip, still glaring at him as he falls into David's arms. Liam's slightly hunched over, trying to regain his breath.
Natasha feels Wanda slip her hand into hers, and the warmth that seeps out is comforting. She coolly turns her head towards Liam, chin jutted upwards. "As much as I would like Wanda to give your comeuppance, you hold valuable information. You better have a plan or have some knowledge of how to save her and get rid of Tatyana for good."
Liam recovers from Wanda's attack as he gives a slight nod to David that he's okay and stands straight. "I had never intentionally planned for anyone to be kidnapped," he emphasizes, having the consciousness to at least look guilty. "I didn’t reveal myself because I wasn’t sure how Tatyana had been listening in. I truly believed that Tatyana was working with William to overthrow the humans. I'm not sure what changed, but it's clear that Tatyana abandoned William and had no intentions of creating sustainable creatures for his army again."
Natasha and Wanda look at each other for a brief moment. They recall the moment William had looked betrayed. The anger that rushed into William's eyes and the heat that pulsated through him—there was no way that was a part of their plans.
"Tatyana was able to recreate her body, but there definitely had to be a price paid," Liam continues. "I could feel something different about her, something not human. We need to find out exactly what she did to recreate her body because it was unlikely she was actually able to preserve it after she was killed. If we can find out, we can find a counter spell to undo it."
"That's if we can even stop her from using her magic," Natasha shakes her head. "Every time that woman casts a spell, we're always fucked."
"There has to be a spell to nullify her powers or stop her from using them," Liam thoughtfully says before sighing. "It's a shame we don't know any more witches. Usually, each coven has its own spell book."
"I'm sure I can figure something out," Wanda rubs her brow, a tiny headache forming. "Let's just form a plan first to find William and lure Tatyana out."
"In the case that there is another army waiting, we need to figure something out. If Tatyana won't create more vampires for William, he might just turn to the old fashion way of changing people. Even just a dozen of them will be troublesome for us, especially if they turn out to have gifts. The more time we lose, the more time he has to change people," Steve points out.
"What was that wood you said could kill you?" Tony asks David. "The...meth...metha...methu...the meth tree."
David gives Tony a look before he rolls his eyes. "Methuselah."
"That's what I said," Tony smirks. "If I can get my hands on a sample of it, I could probably turn it into something more effective to kill vampires...uh..." Tony paused. "Obviously not you guys, though. I'll work something out."
David wishes you were here to laugh at Tony. He lets out a deep sigh before he locks his eyes with Natasha and Wanda. "I'm going to find her," he promises them. "There isn't any place in the world Tatyana can hide her from me."
"How are you so sure?" Wanda frowns. She knows of his abilities, but Tatyana is a witch. They could be in a hut with no technology around.
David smiles, although sheepishly. "I have trackers in both her molars."
"What?!" Natasha narrows her eyes at David.
"It's fine!" David insists. "She knows, and I have trackers in both my molars too. Sometimes we do really stupid shit, and on two separate occasions, we couldn't find each other, and well—" David shrugs.
They all stare at him.
"Anyway, it's not always on," David says as if that should be obvious. "We just activate it when we can't find each other. I've reactivated it since we returned back here. It just takes some time to ping down a location even if I'm a technopath. The further she is, the longer it takes but we'll know soon."
They all continued to stare at him.
Tony finally opens his mouth to speak.
"You two are fucking weirdos."
you are in love (true love)
Tumblr media
not my gif
summary: "Strange look on her face, pauses, then says, "You're my best friend"."
Wanda and Natasha have been friends for a while, they're the only ones who can't see that maybe their relationship is deeper than that, maybe a planned vacation will make them stop denying it.
OR You Are in Love by Taylor Swift but make it wandanat.
words: 3k // Read on ao3
tags: no powers au, fluff, everyone lives yay
“Remember that one time Tony was convinced Clint had hired Laura to act as his girlfriend?” Natasha says softly as she brings the cup of coffee to her lips, trying not to disturb the peace and silence around them, a teasing smile on her face as she recalls that night.
Wanda giggles, “And then he spent the whole party trying to get Laura to confess it to him but Clint thought he was flirting with her?”. The redhead, no longer able to suppress her amusement, moves her left arm from behind her head to rest the back of her hand on top of her lips, successfully wiping the drops of coffee that came out of her mouth as she tried to hold back her chuckles. Beside her, the brunette shifts to her side so she can look at her. Natasha has this thing when she laughs where she goes from this teasing smirk, back to her serious face, a futile attempt at stopping herself, until she can’t take it anymore and just allows herself to let go and fully laughs.
When their laughter stops and they sit, once again, in a comfortable silence, in the back of Natasha’s truck, in the middle of the night, a pile of blankets over both of their bodies. Natasha’s eyes hold a softness and adoration reserved for moments like this, where Wanda’s eyes shine under the moonlight and the only sound around them is the low music and faint voices coming from the cabin in which they’re staying along with the rest of their friends. Their yearly summer trips to visit the lake and stay in Tony’s family’s cabin has been going strong since highschool and have slowly gotten new additions in the form of college and work friends. No matter where life takes them, they always come back to each other.
Wanda and Natasha’s relationship, or friendship, as they often have to clarify, has always been a recurring conversation topic for their friends, everyone else being able to see how their bond was different from the one the rest of them had. But whether it was the subconscious fear of ruining their already good friendship that stopped them from realizing it themselves, or the constant presence of a significant other in one of their lives that stopped them from doing something about it, their friends always decided to let them figure this one out for themselves. Coming to the conclusion that any attempts to shake them out of their denial only resulted in laughter from the both of them, or painfully awkward silences with their respective partners.
Clint and Nat had been best friends since they were kids. When Natasha’s family moved next door, Clint’s parents pushed him to talk to her, to welcome her to Westview. Clint thought she was badass. Natasha, on the other hand, found him rather annoying. They’ve been inseparable ever since. An arrow shaped pendant dangles from her neck as a reminder of this, and also Clint’s archery obsession. So it’s not weird, in moments like these, where she and Wanda are in their own little bubble, to find him protecting said bubble from the rest of their friends, specially Pietro and Yelena, who had already stated multiple times throughout this trip that they were determined to finally get them to realize their feelings for each other no matter what. It was the first time in a while that they were both single and emotionally stable enough for this, Yelena’s words, not his.
“Are they really still out there?” Tony’s voice brings Clint back from his thoughts, “it’s been like forty five minutes do they think we don’t notice?”.
Clint moves away from the window he had been using to check on them, giving them the privacy they had gone out looking for, “I don’t think they care about that, man. They probably haven’t even noticed it’s been that long.”
A breeze snaps Natashas out of her trance, her now empty coffee cup forgotten between the pillows under her head. The redhead sees the way Wanda’s body slightly shivers and decides it would be better to head back inside and eventually go to bed. “Come on, let’s go back in with everyone else”.
The brunette’s only response is a tired groan as she lays on her back once again, eyes closed and body fully splayed out on the pillows they had stolen from the cabin. Natasha lets out a soft, short laugh. She continues to get up, looking around and thinking about the easiest way to get all the pillows and blankets back inside with them. That is until the back of her shirt is being pulled by a warm hand, not being able to react, a soft thud can be heard as she finds herself once again fully laying down, her body facing upwards and all pillow related thoughts fully gone.
“Ow?” Wanda only chuckles at Natasha’s complaint, “What was that for?”
“Look up.” Wanda’s voice is soft, and barely above a whisper. Her shoulder brushes against Natasha’s and the redhead can swear she can hear her own heartbeat.
The silence that settles around them feels different, Natasha can sense it, there’s something that wasn’t there before, or maybe she just couldn’t see it. Her brain knows what to do, understands the simplicity of Wanda’s request, but her eyes betray her, only being able to look at the smile on the brunette’s lips, the soft curve of her cheeks, her nose, she can’t help but think back to all the moments she’s seen her nose scrunch when she laughs. She gazes at her messy brown hair and the faint smell of strawberries that invades her senses as she takes a deep breath in. Her gaze sets, finally, on Wanda’s eyes, a deep shade of green that resembles the forest around them. Wanda’s soft laugh breaks her out of her trance.
“I can feel you staring,” there’s a soft air of teasing in her tone, “should I be scared? Is this where you murder me?” The fake gasp she lets out brings an undeniable smile to Natasha’s lips.
“Perhaps” her voice is quiet but teasing, an attempt at being mysterious. Her eyes drift away from Wanda’s, finally looking up at the sky, where the clouds that had been there before, seem to have disappeared completely, allowing them to look at a sea of stars. The moon shining brightly amongst them.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this” Wanda’s quiet statement brings the redhead’s eyes back to her.
“Of what? Laying in the back of my truck on Tony’s soft elegant couch pillows? Possible murders?” a glint of amusement in her eyes.
Wanda chuckles, tearing her eyes away from the stars in the sky and into the ones in Nat’s eyes. “You know me so well” sarcasm dripping from every word, the soft smile never leaving her lips. A crinkle appears between her eyebrows at a thought she seems to push away, not fully out of her mind, but far away enough that Natasha can’t seem to figure it out. The redhead’s always been good at that, figuring out what Wanda’s thinking about, what she’s feeling, sensing the worry coming from the brunette, she reaches for her hand.
Wanda not only allows it, but interlaces their fingers, seemingly deep in thought, she opens her mouth but no sounds come out as she immediately closes it again. There’s a pause, and Wanda purses her lips, “You’re my best friend,” her tone is soft, as if scared, like there’s so much more she wishes she could be saying instead, but that’s all she seems to be able to get out, the words hold more meaning than she could ever explain, “you know that, right?”.
Her gaze is desperate as it finds Natasha’s, there’s something in it the redhead doesn’t recognize, she can’t put her finger on it, but she smiles, softly, and only for her. She brings her free hand up, and almost hesitates before it softly cups Wanda’s cheek, she’s warm, and her hands are cold, but the brunette leans into her touch anyway, closing her eyes for only a second, the comfort of Nat’s touch not lasting nearly enough.
“I know.”
Natasha’s never hesitated to initiate physical contact with Wanda before, she’s never had to think about it twice, or felt like she might need to stop herself before letting it happen. She decides not to dwell on the sudden change. Natasha wonders if Wanda’s lips taste like strawberries too.
The silence that settles between them is different, and they can both feel it. Something’s shifted, and Wanda might just be too scared to figure out what. So she shifts too, away from Natasha’s touch, and slowly sits up, leaving the redhead confused. “We should go back inside, it’s getting late.”
Natasha only reacts when the warmth of the blankets is gone, Wanda dragging them inside, walking away from her. She thinks back to everything that had just happened, zeroes in on every uttered word, every touch, trying to figure out which one of them was too long, too soft, too much. Looking at the cabin’s door she doesn’t find Wanda’s shadow, she can faintly hear the brunette already bidding goodnight to their friends. Instead, she finds a confused Yelena looking at her from the front porch. Natasha stares back at her for what feels like too long, gears struggling to turn in her mind for once. Yelena’s expression changes into an annoyed questioning one. Something between a what did you do? and a aren’t you gonna go after her?, the redhead can’t pinpoint which one it is, but gets up anyway, not to explain what had just happened to Yelena, but to follow her gut and go after Wanda.
Finding the younger Maximoff twin proves to be easy enough, seeing as she and Natasha are apparently sharing a room. The redhead makes a mental note to either thank or murder Yelena later, the blonde’s future is yet to be decided by what’s about to happen. Natasha knocks softly on the door, not wanting to walk in on Wanda changing or something, although it wouldn’t be the first time.
Wanda’s voice comes muffled from the other side of the door, “Come in”.
The room is dark, the lights are off but the curtains are open and Natasha can see the outline of Wanda’s body in the twin sized bed, she’s laying on her side, facing the other side of the room, her back towards her. The redhead makes another mental note, reminding herself to close them before going to sleep to avoid being woken up by the sun shining on their faces early in the morning. The music stops and the chatter coming from the living room starts fading as the rest of their friends decide to head to bed too, tired from being in a car for hours to get to the cabin. Natasha steps slowly into the room to gather some of her clothes and quickly walks to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
When she’s done and ready for bed, she stares at herself in the mirror for a couple of seconds too long, her mind drifting to the moment she shared with Wanda outside, to the warmth of their intertwined hands and the softness of the brunette’s cheek in her palm. She shakes the thought away and turns off the bathroom light as she makes her way to where she’ll be spending the night. The soft thuds of her footsteps are the only sound as she softly opens the door, scared to wake up the brunette. She gets in the bed as gently as she can, trying to be as quiet and slow as possible. She’s shared a bed with Wanda before, this doesn’t have to be different from that, why would it be different.
Just as the redhead settles under the covers, Wanda immediately shifts on the bed so she can turn to look at her. Natasha freezes. Neither of them speak, the only sounds around them being the whistling of the wind outside, and Bucky’s faint snores coming from the room next to theirs. The light coming in from the window allows the redhead to look at the soft but slightly worried expression on Wanda’s face. Natasha winces as she remembers something.
Wanda’s frown turns into a confused one, “What?” her voice barely above a whisper.
Natasha’s eyes remain closed “I forgot to close the curtains”. The embarrassed expression on the older girl’s face forces a soft chuckle from Wanda’s lips. At the sound of her laugh, Nat’s eyes open as she gives the other girl a sheepish smile.
The silence between them lasts no longer than a couple of seconds before Wanda speaks up again. “Can I ask you something?” her voice laced with uncertainty.
Natasha could never say no to her, not when she’s laying so calmly next to her, her voice soft, and as sweet as ever, the faint sokovian accent barely present in her words. “What’s up?”
Wanda pulls her bottom lip between her teeth and Natasha’s eyes follow each one of her movements. “Why don’t you want to kiss me?”.
The redhead’s eyes widen at the question, she feels her heart beating in her ears and she nearly chokes on her own spit, “What?” Her voice is rough and she clears her throat.
“At Tony’s party, he made us all play spin the bottle to prove Clint and Laura weren’t actually a thing and you didn’t want to kiss me when the bottle landed on me, you just… spun it again.” Wanda’s voice sounds almost hurt.
Natasha’s eyes betray her once again, showing her obvious surprise and confusion, she gulps, “Back in highschool”.
“Yes.”
“You wanna know why I didn’t kiss you.” she repeats as if trying to wrap her head around it.
“I just said that, yes.”
Natasha ponders on the question for a second, “Why?”.
“Well why didn’t you?” Natasha can see her face more clearly now, her eyes having adjusted to the lack of light, Wanda seems actually hurt.
For a second, the redhead thinks about all the possible outcomes. She could lie in an attempt to preserve their friendship, tell her she just didn’t think of it as anything much, that she saw her as too good of a friend to kiss her. She could tell her she didn’t think Wanda would want to herself. She could say she didn’t wanna feed into the neverending teasing their friends put them through. She could lie through her teeth and tell her she just… didn’t want to. But Wanda’s looking at her like they’re the only two people that matter in the world, like she’s ready for whatever Natasha can throw at her, like she’s preparing herself for an answer that might just hurt her feelings a little too much. And Natasha could never hurt Wanda like that, so she doesn’t.
“I was scared” her voice is quiet, she’s scared right now.
Wanda’s brow furrows, not fully understanding yet, “Of what?”.
Natasha ponders for a second on what the best way to respond would be, “I’m not sure, things changing between us, I guess”, she closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. This is it. “I didn’t want you to see me differently… I was scared you’d realize that maybe I saw you differently…”
Wanda's gaze softens, and she swears if they stay in silence one more second Natasha will be able to hear her heart beating faster. But the redhead’s eyes remain closed, and she’s chewing at her bottom lip. And for the first time that night, Wanda decides to be the one to initiate contact between them, so she softly lays her hand on Natasha’s cheek, her thumb dragging her lip away from between her teeth.
When Natasha opens her eyes all she can see is the fondness in Wanda’s eyes. The understanding, the patience, the love. Something in her is screaming at her to do something about it, to finally tell Wanda how much she adores her, to hold her, to kiss her, to love her. She’s sure Wanda can feel it, she has to be able to feel it, right?
There’s a tenderness in Natasha’s eyes that Wanda’s not sure she’s ever seen before, and it’s directed at her, and she’s never felt more loved. But along with the affection in her gaze there’s fear, and the brunette realizes she still hasn’t said anything. There are many things she wants to say, so many things she’s been waiting to tell her, but she holds back, purses her lips for a second, and smiles.
“You’re such an idiot.”
Natasha's expression changes completely and her brows furrow, what the fuck is going on? “Wha-”
Wanda’s lips crash against hers and her breath hitches. Her lips are soft, and sweet, and Natasha’s never regretted something as much as she regrets not having done this before. She snaps out of her thoughts and kisses her back. The brunette’s hand shifts from her cheek to the back of her neck, pulling her closer, and Natasha’s hands settle on top of the covers, right on Wanda’s waist. The sheets wrinkle in Natasha’s now closed fist as she tries to stop her hands from shaking.
Wanda slowly pulls away and Natasha can feel the brunette’s smile against her lips, causing a smile of her own to form. She didn’t think she could love Wanda’s smile more, but right now, with it pressed against hers, she knows she had been wrong.
The brunette’s hand brushes through her red locks and Natasha slowly opens her eyes, only to find Wanda’s already looking at her. “This okay?”
Natasha’s smile grows even bigger, “More than okay”, and this time she’s the one kissing Wanda. There’s no crowd of teenagers around them, or an empty Coke bottle between them telling them to kiss. The mattress squeaks under them and Natasha gets even closer to her, and Wanda giggles at the sound, or the redhead’s eagerness to deepen the kiss, she’s not sure, but she chuckles right back, because Wanda’s laugh feels even sweeter when it’s pressed against her lips.
Natasha wonders if it’s too soon to tell Wanda she loves her, it probably is, right? She pushes that thought away as her hands brush the brunette’s hair away from her face. And Natasha smiles between kisses, because Wanda’s lips do taste like strawberries too.
No bc my favorite hc (and something I’m trying to writer after the four other fics in the drafts) is Wanda and Nat basically taking in Peter and Kate and Yelena, either in a complete AU or just after Peter loses May and Kate has no parents and Yelena is just desperate to spend sisterly bonding time. So they’re like a big weird family
spider family is my favorite hc!!!! bc wandanat has every motherly instinct ever. wanda ends up having to be stricter bc nat constantly wants to have fun with her family, but they’re both so attentive and observant of their “kids” like why didn’t marvel give me this?????????
The Romanoff-Maximoff family goes on a vacation.
‘Airport Dad’ Natasha x ‘Always forgets’ Wanda
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Featuring, you, their eldest daughter (fem reader this time guys!) and the twins! (not Tommy and Billy I have my own hc👀)
“Tickets?”
“Yes.”
“Are these all the bags?”
“…yes.”
“Passport?”
“Christ, Nat! Can’t you trust your wife a little?”
“Detka, I love you. But you have a memory like Dory.”
Wanda offended, “I do NOT!”
Natasha simply kissed her cheeks and looked down at their 10 year old twin kids. “Are you two excited?” She asked while smiling.
Alianova and Pietro beamed at their mom and simultaneously said “Yeah!!”
It was then Natasha realized, “Detka… Where’s Y/n?” Their 15 year old daughter was not there.
“What are you talking about, honey? She’s right behind me.” Wanda turns around and saw that there was in fact no Y/n. “OH MY GOD-“
*Meanwhile*
Y/n enters the women’s bathroom to check on her mama. “Mama, what’s taking you so long?” No answers from Wanda.
“Mama??” Opens every stall to find it empty. “What the fuck-“
(So the idea is Y/n was supposed to wait for Wanda outside the toilet. Being a teenager she just plays with her phone while leaning against the wall, not paying attention to her surroundings. Wanda having the memory of a dory just up and left to the gate 😭)
Monochromatic || Wandanat
(Age of Ultron timeline) (Soulmate AU) (Part 1/??)
Tumblr media
Wanda Maximoff, a girl that unfortunately got experimented with her brother by HYDRA. Driven by pain, grief and agony, they volunteered, thinking that they would have a chance to get revenge.
Wanda got her powers and her brother, Pietro got his. However, they were used solely as weapons, locked up in a cell with no way to escape.
There is no denial that they still constantly get nightmares, always haunting them each. All because of the tragic death of their parents and the cruel experimentation of HYDRA.
They didn't know what to believe or who to trust anymore. Until, they were sent to take down Ultron, whom somehow convinced them to be his allies.
They should've known that Ultron was planning something, I mean they do know but not the real plan that was on his monochromatic mind. He made them believe things. That he wanted the world to grow, to change things.
A month ago, she had noticed the fading color of her sight. It kept worser and worser each day, until it stayed monochromatic. She remembered her mother used to say to her that once her sight fades to monochrome, she's close to meeting her soulmate.
She grew up watching romance sitcoms, so she believed it and hoped for a day that she'll met the man who'd she stay her life with. Until her parents died in front of her, she just stopped believing that silly dream because she knew it'll never happen.
Except, it did happen.
She caught a glimpse of the infamous redhead, Black Widow. Her felt heart skip a beat. She stood there, frozen and petrified as the other girl was looked around then locked her eyes upon her.
And by some magical shit that was happening, she had noticed that her vision is starting to get colorized. What the actual fuck, she thinks.
That until her brother, Pietro shook her back to reality, making her realize that she's in the opposite side as the Russian redhead. Which means she had to fight her.
She knows that she needed to hurt the girl by messing up with her mind, showing her fears and basically break her on the inside. She knows that she had to do it. So she did, she had no choice but to.
As she caught the redhead girl off guard, red hex coming out of her hands, glowing as she began to show the girl her weakness, it showed a memory instead. A memory of the ballet, the strict training and the graduation ceremony. She realized that the redhead was already living her fears, she felt sympathy for the redhead.
The guilt just ate her alive.
WandaNat X g!n reader
Uncut Gems AU
Warnings: cursing
Summary: The couples teenage daughter, Annie, has been acting a bit strange. After some chats with her parents, she finally comes clean.
Word count: 1500
A/N: This was just written in good fun. I really wasn’t going to upload this until @multifandomme gassed me for it, so thank her if you liked this.
---
The sun had begun to set on the horizon and the glint of sunlight peeked through the window of the kitchen. Dinner had just finished in the household leaving Wanda and Y/N alone to chat in the kitchen. Annie was keeping to herself in her room like any other teenager her age. Natasha was finishing up a work call with Clint, but would be done soon.
In the past few weeks, their daughter has been acting somewhat unusual. Although it was fairly normal Annie didn’t want to hang around her parents as much. The girl would usually stick around to watch a movie with them around this time. But lately, she’s been isolating herself in her room, and less interested in art than normal.
“Honey, have you talked to Annie recently?” Y/N questions gently, trying to handle the subject cautiously. They were sitting on a bar stool at the kitchen island, fidgeting with their fingers anxiously.
“What you do you mean? We were just having dinner with her two minutes ago…” Wanda brushed off with her back turned as she finished up cleaning up the kitchen.
“No… I mean like really talked? She seems different,” they insisted with an unsure tone.
“She’s sixteen, babe. We can barely get her to talk about her day,” Wanda reassures as she wipes her hands dry with a dish towel.
“You’re right. Maybe I’m just overthinking things again,” Y/N concedes and nods their head in agreement.
After a couple minutes of silence, Y/N lets out a sigh and Wanda walks over to give them a comforting kiss on the temple. The two were too distracted with each other to notice the entrance of their missing partner.
Natasha casually walks into the kitchen to get a glass of water, after presumably finishing her phone call with Clint and Bucky.
“What are you two talking about?” She wondered, giving them a questioning look while taking a sip of water.
“Y/N thinks there’s something going on with Annie,” Wanda replies immediately, almost as she was snitching.
“Okay, tha-,“ they start to defend but they’re quickly cut off by the red head. “Oh yeah, there’s definitely something going on,” Natasha confirms without a second thought.
“SEE!” Y/N protested, gesturing to their wife as evidence.
Wanda suspiciously looked from one spouse to the other. “Are you reading our daughter’s social media again? We agreed to let her have her privacy,” she questioned with her eyes narrowed at Natasha.
At this point, Y/N had their arm around Nat’s waist while they remained seated, signifying the two as a team against Wanda. A warmth spread between the two from the affection that went unspoken.
“No, it was one time! I said I wouldn’t do it again. She just seems like she has a lot on her mind lately,” Natasha denied with her arms crossed like a little kid.
“I just thought, she was going through a ‘too cool for parents phase’ again.” Wanda sighed leaning against the island with a slight tinge of disappointment in herself.
“Hey, it’s okay. You just wanted to respect her space, where as we are probably too over protective,” Y/N explained placing their hand over hers.
“What do we do?” Wanda inquired lifting her gaze, look at the two, as if they were having a silent mental conversation. There was a slight pause as each person looked at the other with a questioning gleam.
“Ask her?” Y/N dared to say what they were all thinking. Yet again there was a tense pause, until they all shouted ‘Not it’ and touched their noses.
“Fuck! But she’s scary,” Y/N whined in protest, once they realized they lost.
“That’s because she’s exactly like me,” Natasha joked hugging Y/N from behind and swaying them lightly.
 “You can do it baby. If anyone could get through to her it’s you,” Wanda encouraged peppering a few kisses on their face.
“You’re just saying that because you don’t want to either!” Y/N exclaimed pushing her away slightly. Wanda knowingly giggled and threw her head back.
“Fuck fine, give me kisses first,” Y/N groaned as each partner gave them a kiss on the lips.
Y/N takes a deep breath and ventures upstairs to their daughters room. Annie was the spitting image of her mother and all of her personality to match. It was like Natasha had birthed her carbon copy. As Annie came into her teenage years, it only got worse with all the angst, but Y/N wouldn’t admit that to the girls.
With one last deep breath and a masking over their fear, Y/N knocked gently on the door. “Come in,” they could barely hear her say.
When they opened the door, they saw their daughter semi-curled up on her bed, clutching her stuffed gator from when she was a baby. Snuggly in her ears were white earbuds, likely connected to the phone that laid an arms reach away from her. Annie didn’t seem sad but she certainly seemed like she had something on her mind.
“What’s going on nugget?” Y/N asked with their voice gliding into a softness.
They moved to sit on the side of her bed by her feet, softly grasping the girls calf in comfort.
“Nothing just listening to some music,” she replied not meeting her parents gaze and picking at her gator.
“I see. Do you wanna come down and watch some movies with mom’s and I?”
“Maybe another day, I’m a bit tired today,” she declined. Annie tried to hide the slight tremble in her lip, but Y/N could still see her.
“Okay, we love you sweetie. Come get us if you need us,” they reminded her and leaned down to give their daughter a kiss on the cheek. As they walk out her room, their heart broke but they wanted to respect the girls boundaries.
Y/N walked down to report to their wives, but gave them a simple head shake
—-
A few weeks later, Wanda was in the car driving their daughter to school. Soft music was playing in the background just loud enough to entertain but low enough to have a conversation. Wanda hummed every now and then as Annie started out the window next to her, lost in thought.
“Mom?” Annie called out softly to which she earned a hum in response. “How did you know you were gay?”
Wanda’s humming stopped, somewhat alarmed at the random question. The woman thought for a second before forming a response. “Well honey… when I was your age, I tried going out with boys but I just didn’t feel any connection with them. I started to think I wasn’t capable of love until I met your mama and baba,” she responded as she looked at her daughter for a reaction.
Annie kept her face emotionless and continued looking out the window, lost in thought.
“It’s okay to be curious, honey,” Wanda went on as she turned into the school drop off zone.
Annie nodded and bit her lip, looking down at her lap. “Thanks mom,” she said as she picked up her bag and opened the door.
“I love you honey. Have a good day at school,” Wanda waved once her daughter stood with her hand on the car door. With a quick ‘you too,’ Annie was off.
Wanda watched her daughter walk into the entrance with a slight look of concern. After her daughter made into the building she pulled out her phone and opened the group chat between the parents named ‘No homo’.
Annie just asked how I knew I was gay
Finally all my handwork has paid off, Y/N replied.
What did you tell her? Natasha asked.
I just told her the truth
With that, Wanda put her phone down and drove to work.
When the family got home and had dinner, it seemed like the mood had begun to look up. Annie was laughing along with the family and engaging in conversation more than the weeks prior.
“Okay, wait I have a surprise for you guys,” the teenager added before her parents got up.
Annie rushed off into the kitchen, leaving the parents puzzled as what the girl could have up her sleeve. When she returned, they noticed that she had a white cake in her hands and a single lit candle. She put the cake down and her parents jaws dropped.
“I’m sorry, I’m straight,” Natasha read as they all stared at the white frosted cake with red piped letters. After an awkward second, Y/N let out a loud laugh, clearly entertained by their child.
“My child is… straight?” Y/N gulped slowly with a fake hint of disgust.
“Are you sure honey? You remember our conversation in the car right?” Wanda hesitated turning her head to her child.
“Yes, please don’t be mad at me,” Annie pleaded as she nervously bit her lip.
“No baby, we could never be mad at you over this,” Natasha comforted her pulling her into hug her child. Y/N stares at the cake in shocked and speechless. “Right, Y/N,” she gritted smacking them on the back of the head.
“Ow, yeah. We love and accept you baby,” Y/N stated unconvincingly. Y/N sliced through the cake and began serving the slices of vanilla.
