Asteroid Hatshepsut (2436) in the Natal Chart of Queen Elizabeth I

The object Hatshepsut represents self-promotion, the conscious propagation of image in order to bring about success or in the process of pursuing ambitions. The words that come to mind are legacy, stature, image, and campaign. This is linked to gender expression and its use in a social, public, or professional context, but that’s secondary.

This is super late, but I got crazy absorbed while I was researching, so I hope the anonymous asker has stuck around! (If you’re only interested in personal natal astrology, I’ve got a Hatshepsut overview post drafted that briefly touches on each of the sign and house placements as well as providing basic support for analyzing aspects. It also goes into the topic of Hatshepsut in retrograde.)

IMO, it’s always worth checking both Vedic and Western placements, so both will be analyzed independently below, with additional emphasis on shared traits between them - all this said with the disclaimer that I am still very new to Vedic astrology relative to Western. That said, analysis below the cut!

The Western drawn chart for Queen Elizabeth I has Hatshepsut in Leo at 19º in the 7th house. The Vedic drawn chart has the asteroid in Leo at 2º (placing it in the Magha Nakshatra) in the 9th house. Both charts place Hatshepsut exactly conjunct both her Vertex and her Pars Fortunae, as well as exactly trine Jupiter and exactly semisquare her Venus. (God, if I’ve ever seen a chart so dramatically befit its native, lmao...)

So, starting with the shared traits.

Leo Hatshepsut natives craft stories and wield showmanship to rally people around their cause. They know how to orchestrate the world around them such that they appear to be the sun around which everything revolves. They make themselves into stars through sheer force of charisma and belief in the self. The fixed modality may correlate to the native fixating on their legacy to an unhealthy degree.

As the sun is the counterpart to the motherly moon, Leo is also linked with father figures. While Saturn is the father who raises us, the Sun is the blood father who sires us. This aligns fantastically with Elizabeth’s legacy being initially sown as the unlikely claimant to her father’s throne.

The 5th house is ruled by Leo and the sun as well, and its domain includes joy and hobbies, but also more relevantly, offspring - by which I mean both children and the process of making them. Elizabeth’s Vedic Chart has the moon in her Aries ruled 5th, while in her Western chart the 5th contains her Gemini Mars and Ceres.

The relevance here is that Leo’s rulership over the house will tie the 5th house’s contents to her legacy. Queen Elizabeth was known as the Virgin Queen and Mother to her Country. She never had her own children, but she was regarded as a mother figure by her citizens, and the moon and Ceres are both correlated to motherhood, with Ceres bringing a touch of grief to the role. Meanwhile, the presence of Mars and the dominance of the Martian Aries puts her in a position of dominance in the realm of sex and children, but to her detriment - Mars in 5th has been correlated to miscarriages and other complications with birth, and many historians believe that Elizabeth had similarly troubled feelings about her circumstances.

The sun and Leo are also correlated to royalty - and this connects to the native so obviously I almost didn’t bother to point it out lmao!

The Vertex and Pars Fortunae conjunction is powerful in itself, but throwing Hatshepsut into the mix brings another level of history-defining karma to it.

The Vertex is an imaginary point that represents a fated bond - not necessarily a soulmate, though Vertex synastry is powerful. It is often summed up as a sort of ‘second descendant’, but the focus here is on karma, rather than personal identity or taste.

Pars Fortunae, or the Part of Fortune - either is fine so long as you’re not talking to a prick who’s looking to correct you - is point of, eponymously, luck and fortune. It represents innate talents.

Having Hatshepsut exactly conjunct these conjuncted points exposes exactly what a powerful, impactful presence Elizabeth must’ve been. She would’ve done far more than command the room upon entry. Her presence echoes through time. It’s no wonder she’s become such an iconic figure of history - that’s exactly what she intended, and karma itself was her quill.

Jupiter is a planet of expansion and trine is a beatific aspect. The consequences of her efforts to craft her legacy would’ve been monumental, real world-defining stuff, and her fortune and her stature would’ve fed into each other more and more, fueling each other’s growth through growth that had been fueled by the other.

Jupiter is also correlated to ancestry, spirituality, faith, and extended paternity. Religion played a massive role in Elizabeth’s reign, both in its making and in its consequences, particularly in that it was her father’s religion - the religion which he coopted for personal reasons and came to represent as the head of the church - to which she was so spiritually and politically devout.

I’ll only briefly touch on the semi square Venus due to it being a minor aspect, but it is exact and it’s relevant so it’s worth acknowledging that it aligns with how Elizabeth’s legacy as the Virgin Queen prevented her from ever marrying or, to public knowledge, partaking in a love affair - although historians have speculated about her close relationship to Robert Dudley, and their synastry certainly is something to behold.

Now, looking at the dissonant specifics...

The houses are different. Western places Hatshepsut in the 7th, and Vedic in the 9th.

Her Western chart’s Hatshepsut in the 7th house works in so far as that her legacy is one of living for the other - her countrymen, other in that she is above them in status and wealth, but also socially if she were anything but queen she would be the other and below them according to sex - and as the other - a woman living independently under her own power, untethered and pure, seen in many ways as a king living in a queen’s body. You can also identify her rivalry with Mary, Queen of Scots in how it helped to cement her place in the legend. In both cases, she utilizes the role of the other, and the strengths of the other, to form her legacy.

The Vedic position in the 9th works if you look at the way she use theistic narratives in her favor. She spoke of herself and her country in relation to God very often, and utilized the religious archetype of the holy virgin mother, a contradiction as much as a miracle, to bolster her image and weaken the foundation of any who contradicted her right to power. There’s also the fact that the 9th house is correlated to grandparents, or more generally the extended family legacy, which would work with how Elizabeth performed the kingly duties her father and his had once assumed with the same performance of masculinity.

The degrees are also different, and the way in which they are significant differs between systems as well.

In many Western circles, 19º would be considered a Libran degree, thus Venusian in nature, feminine, cardinal, and airy. This works well enough as her raw solar magnetism was filtered through the behavior and character of an ideal woman, intelligent and insightful, embodying femininity when appropriate and acknowledging the necessity of the ways of men in times of conflict and war. Her eloquence played a huge part in her ability to perform as well, and these performances remain to this day in the form of quotes and anecdotes attributed to her.

In Vedic astrology, degrees are relevant due to the Nakshatras. Again, I’m new to Vedic, and thus am relying on external sources to analyze the meaning of the Magha Nakshatra. If they’re accurate, the Magha Nakshatra is all about spiritual leadership and responsibility. It is about appropriately acknowledging our roots without allowing them to dictate whether we are comfortable growing beyond their material bounds into a spiritual power or leadership role. This is a bit esoteric for me to parse on a first read, tbh, but until I find sources that better suit me, I’d say the general concept of honoring one’s roots but expanding beyond them into the horizons through leadership parallels pretty well Elizabeth’s approach to crafting a legacy for herself that was born in that of her father but far exceeding its bounds, beyond the role of daughter and unlikely claimant.

This is honestly crazy stuff - I’m so glad I randomly decided to check out Queen Elizabeth I’s chart, especially after receiving this request. I hope it’s okay that I looked at her case study instead of the other two referenced in passing, but I will try to rush job that general-cover Hatshepsut post in the meantime!

THE MASTER MANIFESTERS (astro observations)

Since Leos are fuming and you insulting them just fuels them to be more driven in their aspirations. It surely helps them manifest great things while proving haters wrong simultaneously.

🎖️ The power that Jupiter in the 12th house natives hold when it comes to manifesting is immaculate. They just have stored a lot of good karma from their past lives is what I believe. The 12th house also rules the subconscious. The majority of our daily actions are done subconsciously due to habits and having Jupiter over this house comes in handy for these individuals. They are also mentally strong.

🎖️ Sagittarius or 9th house Moon/Venus/Jupiter can manifest philosophical, spiritual, or books with knowledge of higher studies pretty easily. They may have an upbringing with wise parents or their parents may also have a habit of reading, or just meet wise people & partners who gift/suggest them books.

🎖️ If you are a person with 11th house placements then I'd suggest you manifest things by using technology and social media (for example: by making Pinterest vision boards).

🎖️ Listening/ saying affirmations while practicing mindfulness can be really beneficial for mercurians especially if they struggle with anxiety.

🎖️ Aries and Pisces placements can be "delusional". If it's done with a positive connotation then they will manifest great things.

🎖️ If "lucky girl syndrome" was a person then I would say they would be a Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune dominant.

A/N: My mom is coming up to visit after I get out of work today, so obviously, I cannot post while she is around (the contents of this story would stop her super-Catholic heart or, at the very least, have her send me out for an exorcism), so I'm scheduling this update.

Over the next few weeks, things between you and Bucky were technically better, in the sense that you hadn’t argued again, and he didn’t mention Jade to you, or answer her calls or texts in your presence, but they were so much worse in that she was taking up more of his time than ever before, and you saw each other less and less. You tried to rationalize it by telling yourself that the amount of time the two of you had spent together at the beginning of your relationship had been abnormal– nearly constant– and that the current situation was more on par with what regular couples experienced, but the truth of the matter was that you felt yourself pulling away from him, building a wall around your heart to protect yourself from what you saw as the inevitable heartache Bucky was going to inflict upon you.

He’d been right– you had been going around in circles, and every time you thought you’d made some progress, another event would transpire that would just end up leaving you feeling worse. Yes, he always had the sweetest words to say to you to bring you down from your anger, but at what point did they go from being the actual truth to just being something said just to placate you? More and more, you found yourself questioning the difference between the two, and as a result, your walls were going back up with a vengeance.

If he noticed, though, he didn’t say anything. He was preoccupied with preparing Jade for her first mission. She’d be going off to Malaysia with Sam and Rhodey (you may have begged Tony to ensure she was never partnered with either you or Bucky, and bless that man and his affection for you, he’d been more than willing to comply), and Bucky was working overtime to make sure she was ready.

And perhaps a small part of you was hoping she’d go MIA in the jungle. Not that you’d ever admit it out loud to anyone but FRIDAY.

The day before she was scheduled to depart, you were lounging on your couch, working on your laptop. Your crisis prediction algorithm project was finally ready, and you were putting the finishing touches on the presentation you were scheduled to give to the board in less than two weeks time. You were just adding some graphics when Bucky came in the door.

“You haven’t started getting ready yet?” he asked, kissing the crown of your head by way of greeting. He looked exceptionally handsome in a pair of tight black jeans and black button-up with the sleeves rolled to his elbows.

You looked up at him in confusion. “Ready for what?” you asked, taking off your glasses and rubbing the bridge of your nose.

“Gino’s,” he said, as if that would clear it up. At your blank look, he prompted: “Vix’s first mission is tomorrow. We’re all going down to Gino’s for drinks. Come on, Pocket. I told you about this days ago.”

You scoffed at him. “You most certainly did not. I would have remembered because I would have laughed at you and said ‘hard pass.’”

Bucky rubbed his eyes. “Okay, maybe it slipped my mind, and I’m sorry for that, but you should have known. It’s tradition.”

“Tradition?” you asked him, surprised to find that the anger you had expected to feel, that you should have felt, just wasn’t coming. Instead, you were just sad. “There’s no tradition.”

“What are you talking about? We all went before my first mission.”

You closed your laptop and put it down on the coffee table before standing up to face him with a sigh. “Buck, that was something I did, just for you, because I wanted to. Because you were my best friend. I wanted you to have a night of fun before you went out, because I didn’t know what sort of shit you were going to see, or have to do, on that mission. I wanted to give you something good to hold on to.”

Bucky’s face softened at your words and he embraced you, holding you close. “God,” he said, rubbing his nose into your hair, “I had no idea. I’m the fucking luckiest man alive, you know that? To have a girl as special as you care so much about me. You’re more than I deserve, doll.”

A tiny voice in the back of your mind couldn’t help but think Maybe I am. You crushed the thought as soon as it came. You loved him, you truly did. He just… frustrated you a lot recently. Jade’s probationary period was going to be over soon, and you were hopeful that she wouldn’t get the votes to stay in. You knew that, despite the initial warm reception she’d received, she’d ended up rubbing almost everyone the wrong way with her attitude. You’d even heard Sam and Clint complaining about Jade refusing to participate when it was her turn for training room clean-up because ‘shouldn’t Stark have people for that?’.

It seemed like everyone was finally seeing what kind of person she really was. Well, everyone except for Bucky, anyway.

“So,” he said after a moment, “you gonna come?”

You thought about it for a second. A part of you was completely against the idea, not wanting the gesture you’d made for Bucky all those months ago to be tainted knowing he was making it now for her, but the prevailing part of you wasn’t about to offer Jade the opportunity of a night of drinking with Bucky, outside of your presence, on a silver platter. It concerned you that you were more motivated by thwarting any designs Jade might have than you were with spending time with your boyfriend, though. You tried to push your petty thoughts aside.

“Yeah,” you said, looking up into his eyes and allowing yourself to fall into them. God, they were beautiful. He was beautiful, inside and out. You needed to keep reminding yourself of that, of all the reasons you fell in love with him in the first place, and there were so, so many. “How much time do I have?” you asked.

Bucky pulled out his phone and glanced at the time. “About fifteen minutes,” he said.

“Fifteen minutes!” you shrieked, pulling away from him and heading over to your vanity. “Jesus, Buck! Give a girl some warning! It’s gonna take me twice that long just to do my hair and makeup!” You began pulling out all the accouterments you were going to need to prepare yourself.

Bucky came to stand behind you, wrapping his hands around your waist as he looked at you in the mirror. “You don’t need any of that stuff, doll,” he said, kissing your cheek. “You’re already going to be the sexiest girl there, but I’m not gonna complain about sitting around if you want to get even sexier.”

You smiled at Bucky through the mirror, and it felt like the first genuine smile you’d given him in ages. “That’s sweet of you, baby,” you said as you started putting on your moisturizer, “but I don’t want to make you late on my account.”

Bucky narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing you for any trace of annoyance or anger in your words. Not finding any, he asked: “Are you sure, sweets? I don’t mind waiting for you.”

You nodded, moving on to fill in your eyebrows. “It’s fine, Buck. Go. I’ll meet up with you as soon as I’m ready.”

He lingered for several long moments, watching as you continued your makeup routine. You noticed him staring and paused contouring to turn to him. “What?” you asked with a small smile, expecting him to make some kind of comment about modern girls and all their makeup.

“Nothing,” he said, though there was a hint of sadness in his gaze. “You just seem… different, that’s all.”

You laughed. “You’ve seen me contour my face plenty of times, Buck. I swear, it’ll look great once I blend it out.”

“No,” he said with a shake of his head, “that’s not what I meant. You just seem… nevermind, it’s nothing.”

Shit. He could feel the distance you’d been building between the two of you. You didn’t want it to be there; you truly didn’t. You simply didn’t know how else to protect yourself. Closing yourself off had been your tried and true defense mechanism since you were eleven years old.

Making a vow to yourself to get back to where you once were, back to him, you turned around, wrapping your arms around his neck. “Hey,” you said, kissing him softly, “I love you. So much.” You needed to reassure him, to reassure both of you, of the truth of it.

“Love you, too, sweets,” he said warmly, not letting go of you. You let him hold you, relishing in the feel of him in a way you hadn’t let yourself experience in a bit. Unfortunately, the moment was interrupted by the buzzing of his phone, indicating he had a text. You pulled away and turned back to the mirror.

“What’s Jade need now?” you asked, feeling the wall building itself back up. There was no anger in your voice, just a kind of resigned acceptance. You glanced up from blending your contour as Bucky checked the screen, a look of annoyance crossing his face as he read her text.

“She wants to know if I can drive her to Gino’s on my bike,” he said. The way he looked back at you in the mirror almost made you feel ill, as though he were preparing for you to blow up at him. You felt the walls go higher around your heart.

“Well, you better head out then,” you said, focusing on your makeup. “Don’t want her being late for her own party.”

Bucky opened his mouth and then closed it again, as though not sure how to respond to you. Eventually, he said “It’s fine. Tony’s providing cars; she can hitch a ride with everyone else.”

“And deprive her the opportunity to wrap her arms around you?” you laughed. “Come on, Buck, you’re supposed to be giving her a night of good memories here. Don’t disappoint the girl.”

His brow furrowed at your words. In a single step, he was beside you, taking the contouring brush from your hand and turning your shoulders so you were facing him. “Pocket,” he said, licking his lips, “are we… are we okay?”

You shrugged nonchalantly. “Of course,” you said, taking the brush back from him and moving on to your bronzer and blush. “Why wouldn’t we be okay?”

“You’re just… you seem to be awfully relaxed about the idea of her being on the back of my bike.”

You arched a brow and looked over at him. “Should I not be?” you asked. “Is there a reason for me to be bothered by it?”

Bucky spluttered. “No! Of course not! It’s just…”

“Then I don’t understand what the problem is, Bucky,” you said, getting back to work on your face. His phone buzzed again. “You better go. Sounds like your ‘work wife’ is getting impatient.”

“My work wife? Doll, I don’t… I can’t…” he stammered, at a loss for words.

“Buck,” you said, patting his arm before applying your lip gloss, “it’s fine. Go give Jade a ride. I don’t care, honestly.”

“You… don’t care?” he asked slowly.

“Nope,” you popped the ‘p’ with your lips. “I really don’t.”

Bucky muttered his goodbyes, promising to see you at the party. As soon as he closed the door behind him, you closed your eyes, gripping the backrest of your vanity chair until your knuckles were white, your fingernails digging crescents into the palms of your hands.

You might have been able to lie to Bucky, but you couldn’t lie to yourself. You did care. You still cared very, very much.

Imagine a Heroes of Olympus AU where, due to the empathy link, Hera can’t snatch Percy and wipe his memories without also messing with Grover’s mind. (That or she’s just worried Grover would use the link to find Percy before the time is right, so she gets him out of the picture too.) Maybe she sends both of them to the Wolf House together, but more likely she doesn’t think Grover is very important and just drops him in the wilderness somewhere.

So Percy’s following Lupa’s instructions and heading to Camp Jupiter, fighting every single monster within a five mile radius along the way, and the whole time he’s got this feeling like he’s getting close to something. He assumes it means he’s getting close to camp, but meanwhile Grover has been traveling towards him, following that same unidentified feeling like a compass, as the only lead he has to go on with no memory. After like a full week(?) of fighting weird monsters that want to kill him, Percy encounters some guy with horns and goat legs and probably attempts to slay him on sight to get things over with. Grover of course yells “I surrender! Don’t kill me!” and they get to talking. Percy is mildly suspicious, but takes Grover’s word that not all animal hybrid creatures are out for his blood. So they set off for Camp Jupiter together.

When they get there, none of the Romans are too happy to welcome another “good for nothing” faun onto their territory, but Juno gave Percy her endorsement, and Percy gave Grover his endorsement, so if the Romans want to follow Juno’s instructions and make sure the son of Neptune sticks around, they’ve got to let the faun tag along. Grover is uncomfortable with being so utterly disliked on first sight by so many people—and he can read emotions, so the message is coming through loud and clear. Before he encounters the fauns of Camp Jupiter, he probably just assumes he’s a random monster on par with the gorgons, and that’s why he’s so hated. Monster or no, though, Percy is already unwaveringly loyal towards his new friend. Grover is the first person he’s met who hasn’t wanted anything from him but his companionship. No harsh training to survive, no fighting to the death. Just traveling and talking and making stupid jokes together to make everything seem less scary. The way they clicked, it was as if they had been friends for far longer than a few days. In fact, Percy can practically feel Grover’s fear and shame at the Romans’ reactions as if they were his own emotions, and it only makes him more defensive of his friend.

Eventually Grover and Percy encounter Don the Faun, prompting Hazel to explain that fauns, collectively, aren’t much more than beggars, thieves, and freeloaders. Of course, she probably phrases it just a smidge more tactfully, given that Grover is, y’know, standing right there. He now understands the dismissive way he’s been treated. A faun welcomed right into camp and given the “New Legionnaire” tour alongside Juno’s chosen hero. What a joke. He almost wishes he really was a monster instead. Evil or no, at least monsters are powerful and impressive, not… useless. He sees what Don is like, what all fauns are like, apparently, and he feels ashamed of himself. Percy tries to cheer him up, tries to remind him that the Lares keep calling him a Greek. An enemy. Nevermind how Neptune and his children are apparently barely respected here. If Percy and Grover are outcasts at Camp Jupiter, then they’ll be outcasts together.

That makes Grover feel a little bit better. But not much.

Grover certainly doesn’t want to seek out the other fauns. Even if it is off-putting that no one cares they’re all basically homeless, Grover still finds those that he’s met to be unfocused and irritating. He feels different from them. Grover sticks close to Percy, because Percy is pretty much the only person in the Legion who acknowledges his existence. Grover is not invited to join the Legion with Percy. Not that he particularly wants to sign up for ten years of army, but at least it would have given him a place to belong. Grover also isn’t invited to join the War Games, but no one stops him from coming either. They don’t seem to think he’d make a difference one way or the other, so if he wants to go charging in to his death, why stop him? Hazel and Frank have interacted with Grover enough, by way of interacting with Percy, to know that he’s at least a little different from other fauns, so they don’t mind having his help. And besides, the Fifth Cohort knows what it’s like to be the underdogs. How much worse could one faun make things?

When the Fifth Cohort takes the War Games by storm, and Hazel, Frank, and Percy prove their abilities, Grover is right there alongside them, using nature magic as a crucial part of their plan. Through this shared victory, Hazel and Frank and the rest of the Fifth gain respect for Grover as an individual, and the rest of the Legion at least has to notice that he’s there.

When it comes time for the quest, of course Percy wants Grover to come with him and Frank and Hazel, even if three is the usual quest limit. (I don’t remember if it is with Romans.) Whether three is the limit or not, though, the Romans aren’t too keen on letting a faun join a quest. Best case scenario, they think, Grover wouldn’t take it seriously, and would run away at the nearest sign of trouble. A waste of a choice for a companion. Fauns aren’t heroes. They’re just nuisances. Percy is clearly angry and about to argue, but Grover stops him, instead speaking calmly for himself, and putting to use his skill for convincing people of things. (You’d think he could charmspeak, honestly.) Grover swallows his pride and recommends himself as more of an assistant than an actual member of the quest. Someone to carry the equipment, set up camp, get groceries now and then, etc. A servant, practically, for the real heroes.

“You know you’re not getting paid for this,” Reyna points out.

Grover has to bite his tongue to keep his temper. “Yes. I know.”

In the end, Grover is allowed to join Percy and the others on the principle that, again, his presence shouldn’t make that much of a difference one way or the other. And besides, if he’s not technically part of the quest or the Legion, they can’t stop him from happening to travel to the exact same places at the exact same time, can they? If the questers don’t have an issue with it, then sure. Let the faun go on a quest.

Grover is laughed out of the Senate House. He tries not to get too upset. He got what he wanted, after all. But at the cost of humiliation.

Percy asks Grover why he would even want to come on a dangerous quest when he doesn’t have to, especially when the Romans made it as hard as they did for him to be allowed. Grover says he wanted to help Percy because they’re friends, and because Percy is the only person who’s ever stuck up for him.

Percy says, “I appreciate that, but we’ve only been friends for the better part of a week. Is this really worth the risk, for someone you barely know?”

“Even if it wasn’t,” Grover replies, “I can’t stay here. I won’t stay somewhere I’m hated. I’d rather be out there with you, doing something useful, than get treated like I’m worthless.

“Besides,” he says, “I’m sick of people telling me what I can’t do.”

i've previously talked about how Rohini nakshatra is associated with shape shifting and transformation and Revati nakshatra is known as the wealth giving star. These two combined create the ability to deeply transform one's life, heal from old wounds and ways of living and rise to the high echelons of society. They're both known for creating wealth. it only makes sense that these natives would be chosen time and time again to play the "fairy godmother" responsible for transforming the lives of a virtuous person trapped in unjust circumstances

4. ive noticed that many mars ruled men (mrigashira, chitra, dhanishta) go after older women 👀 bharani is another nakshatra that pops up often (bharani is the meeting point of mars and venus)

my personal take on this is that mars influence makes natives interested in taboo and unconventional topics and areas. all 3 mars ruled nakshatras belong to the "servant caste" and bharani is an outcaste nakshatra. what this says is that these people have no desire or need to conform or adhere to the norms set by society. they don't care for the status quo and feel no sense of belonging to mainstream society so they simply do as they please<3

Quick Synastry Reading on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

Immediately looking at their charts, their Sun (Taylor) conjunct Moon (Travis) in Sagittarius jumped out. The Moon is a very important placement to look at in a man/masculine person’s chart when looking into what they want. Taylor naturally shines in and embodies the qualities that he’s looking for emotionally. For Taylor, his moon shows her that he has a foundation for understanding who she is in her essence, something that may be very important for her as one of world’s most polarizing figures. Taylor has notably not had the easiest time with her relationships and has written about seeking safe spaces and adventure in her partnerships. Travis’ Jupiter shows Taylor that he is self-sufficient enough to be that safe space for her to be herself and that the rapid changes in both of their lives can potentially bring them together rather than push them apart. I would not be surprised if this relationship lasts for some time.

Amun was a major ancient Egyptian deity who appears as a member of the Hermopolitan Ogdoad. Amun was attested from the Old Kingdom together with his wife Amunet. With the 11th Dynasty (c. 21st century BC), Amun rose to the position of patron deity of Thebes by replacing Montu.

After the rebellion of Thebes against the Hyksos and with the rule of Ahmose I (16th century BC), Amun acquired national importance, expressed in his fusion with the Sun god, Ra, as Amun-Ra (alternatively spelled Amon-Ra or Amun-Re).

Amun-Ra retained chief importance in the Egyptian pantheon throughout the New Kingdom (with the exception of the "Atenist heresy" under Akhenaten). Amun-Ra in this period (16th to 11th centuries BC) held the position of transcendental, self-created creator deity "par excellence"; he was the champion of the poor or troubled and central to personal piety. With Osiris, Amun-Ra is the most widely recorded of the Egyptian gods.

imagine being a demigod in 2024.

imagine a minimal to no social life in the summers. always having to make excuses because you can't hang out. your parents having to excuse you to relatives why you can't go out on a vacation this summer with your cousins. having to explain to teachers why your grades are falling down. explaining to your friends why you look like your walked through hell because you just fought a monster before lunch.

can you hang out this summer? your friends ask you before the beginning of summer breaks because they wanna do something fun. like hang out in the mall. or get trashed in each other's houses. or someone's got a birthday party coming up. or there's this carnival coming to town that they would like you to attend with them. your answer's gonna be awkward.

ummm... yeah, i can hang. maybe for a couple for days. because yk you can't hang out for more than a couple of days. you have the get the camp jupiter or half blood asap. and before leaving you have to atleast spend sometime with your friends and family.

do you have plans this summer? some people tend to ask because they're gonna go out on vacations or have plans with family and friends.

what do you say, then? umm... killing monsters? going on quests? learning how to fight an ancient greek being? campfire sing alongs? crawling lava walls? parring with your half siblings? you had half siblings?? that you would spend majority of your summer hanging out with nymphs, satyrs, demigods, a centaur and a god of wine?

can we reach you? they ask only for you to say how you're going somewhere there's no signal. they'll soon start getting suspicious because now they're noticing a pattern. because you can't tell them how you have leave your phone behind so that you don't have monsters running after you. coming back to a million missed calls and so many messages left unread telling you how much you missed out on or the greatest party of the year.

dyslexia and adhd are least of your problems especially with college applications coming up because you never expected yourself to survive that long. it's a miracle, really. and college will be a pain because how do you say you got accepted to an university in NEW ROME?? most of them would be surprised you even got into college with your terrible grades. they don't even know how smart you are. most of them just presume you to be dumb because of your dyslexia and adhd. especially the teachers- gods they're such pains in the ass with the constant questioning and why you can't perform well in school. all you can think of is how smart you are in ancient greek or roman

why are you breathing so hard? you look like you ran a marathon. well, you kinda did because how else do you explain defeating a drakon or laistrygonian giants before first period? you settle for, oh i woke up late.

or being able to see through the mist. while your friends only see a black dot in sky, you can see the pegasus neighing at you. while your teachers only see gigantic storks pecking at the windows, you can see the stymphalian bird looking right at you. as your parents switch on the tv news that reports of a horrendous tornado, you can see zeus and poseidon fight and you think, what now? with a sigh. as you're faced with a terrible earthquake in a millenia, yk some demigod had pissed off some god, somewhere.

imagine running into one of your friends during a quest. imagine running around your city, trying to find ganymede's chalice or retrieving something that one of the gods lost. oh hey, jenna! what are you, doing here? i thought you were away on vacation? your camp friends look at you, all amused as you try to grapple for an answer. it's a funny story, yeah...

imagine the crazy gossip sessions during camp as you and your camp friends talk about the life outside and and the ridiculous things that happened this school year or the gossip of who cheated on whom and whom got wasted and flashed the english teacher. giggling as you catch your friends up on something mundane as your life is anything but.

and some camp elements coming alive during summer. like the amazing muscle strength you have as you fight a boy despite hating gym period. you can't just say- hey! this is what i train for every summer. or an eerie fact you state in physics as you learn about delta. oh yeah, old man daedalus' sign? he was genius but funny. how do i know? i read. can't just say, i met the dude once. or if one of your friends asks about your camp friends that you have pictures of on your instagram or on a polaroid, you're left stuttering. or when a guy outside camp hits on your and your friends pressurise you to go out with him. how do you tell them you have a boyfriend at camp? you can't without them asking to meet him and you can't have that.

imagine coming clean to your parents with a satyr's help. my mom would yell, then faint then stop talking to me for a while. but after that she'd be fine. my dad... he'd start looking at me funny and be very hesitant about camp. they'd try forcing me to stay longer and make me have more plans with the relatives that i'd have to keep cancelling. and imagine being an indian demigod- gods, the weddings you'd miss! and having to sit beside your mum during parent teacher conferences as your teachers drill on about how you're not performing well and even tho she knows- she agrees, saying you don't study and says i'm gonna try better next time. as soon as we get home, she says, we gotta do something about your grades. telling her about the university in new rome and somehow that's more helpful. maybe that's gonna help out the situation better.

then there's the issue of powers. being a hermes kid would be cool because you would be amazing at sports and popular. your thieving skills also wouldn't be too bad. the charm would make you likeable and popular and sneaky. being an athena kid helps out in pe and studies and maybe you can even be one of the best at classes. being an aphrodite kid means everyone adores you and you're popular and you can get yourself out of the slickest situations in the quickest way possible. even being an apollo kid would mean you're great at band and people like you. now, imagine being a kid of hephaestus, hades, hecate or poseidon. a kid pisses you off in gym class and he's lit on fire the next second. during an exam, you're so nervous that you douse the entire examination hall in water. you have a talent show coming up and you charm everyone into loving your performance and one kid swears he saw your eyes glow purple. imagine helping out your crush carry her bags and notebooks only for them to see a skeleton slip out of view. it would be a mad school year.

returning and looking at instagram and snapchat and realising how much you missed. but then you look at your camp beads and reminisce on your camp friends and how fun that summer had been. how fun it was staying with your half siblings and even mr d was pretty sufferable this summer. there was no greater feeling that sneaking around camp with the guy you like at night, running from the cleaning harpies. nothing like waking up and having realised that the hermes kids pulled a prank on your cabin. nothing like sparring with your friends or climbing the lava wall with extra risks involved. running through the strawberry fields with your siblings chasing you. sitting in camp sing along and realising that you finally belong. that you wouldn't have it any other way, even as you look at your friends hanging out without you. because you had people you loved, even tho the risk of dying the next night still loomed over you.

perhaps, that's what being a demigod feels like
