Sephiroth, Genesis, Angeal, and Zack take Wired’s Most Searched for Questions interview
How does it go?
Sephiroth
Is Sephiroth evil?
Sephiroth: Not yet.
Is Sephiroth gay?
*Sephiroth stares blankly at the camera with his mouth parted open*
Is Sephiroth left-handed?
Sephiroth: I'm ambidextrous, though I prefer using my left hand to write, eat and maneuver a sword.
Is Sephiroth part cat?
Sephiroth: Perhaps I would be happier if I were.
Why is Sephiroth shirtless?
Sephiroth: An excellent question.
Why is Sephiroth so attractive?
Sephiroth: I seem to have inherited my looks from my mother. She was very beautiful.
Where are Sephiroth's parents?
Sephiroth: Ah. I've tried looking this question up. It's ineffective and provides no answers.
Why does Sephiroth hate Genesis?
Sephiroth: That's absurd. I like Genesis very much. He's my best friend. He's a special person to me. If I were asked who my vest friend is, I would have to say Genesis.
Who is Sephiroth's best friend?
Sephiroth: Angeal! He's very dear to me. We have a good relationship and there is no one in the world who I like more than him.
Why does Sephiroth like pasta?
Sephiroth: I feel complete and whole when I eat it. I assume that's what being loved feels like.
Why is Sephiroth's hair long?
Sephiroth: Because it's not short.
Genesis
How old is Genesis?
Genesis: How dare you insinuate that I'm old.
Is Genesis gay?
Genesis: Hm. About 50%, sometimes it's 75%. It depends on the day and my mood.
Is Genesis shorter than Sephiroth?
Genesis, through gritted teeth. I am.
Why does Genesis like red?
Genesis: It's the most vibrant, eye-catching, attractive color of the rainbow. Like me.
Why does Genesis dye his hair red?
Genesis: Lies and falsehoods.
Why is Genesis obsessed with Loveless?
Genesis: And I'm expected to answer with one sentence? I need an hour at least to accurately describe how much it means to me.
Why is Genesis called Genesis?
Genesis: I'm sure Dr. Hollander was trying to be poetic.
Why is Genesis annoying?
Genesis: WHAT?
Why is Genesis shorter than Sephiroth?
Genesis: WHY DO YOU MEAN "WHY?"
Why does Genesis say his hair is red when it's brown?
Genesis: THAT'S IT. I'M LEAVING. SCREW THIS.
Angeal
Is Angeal related to Zack?
Angeal: Not blood related, but he's like my little brother. Don't tell him I said that though. He'll cry and hug me and then I'll be covered in Zack snot.
Is Angeal dating Sephiroth and Genesis?
Angeal: Simultaneously?? Dating one would be a nightmare on its own.
Why is Angeal so attractive?
*Angeal stares up at the camera blankly, blushing profusely*
Is Angeal single?
Angeal: Uhh...yeah.
Does Angeal have a girlfriend?
Angeal: No, I don't.
Why is Angeal single?
Angeal: Who's writing these? My mom??
Is Angeal dead?
Angeal: Only on the inside.
Is Angeal stronger than Sephiroth?
Angeal: I'm not sure. I can sit on him and he starts flailing and struggling though. That's very funny.
Is Angeal older than Sephiroth and Genesis?
Angeal: Believe it or not, I'm the middle child.
Does Angeal kill plants?
Angeal, tearing up: I—...No? Once...It was a sunflower. There's barely any sun in Midgard.... I learned that the hard way.
Zack
Is Zack alive?
Zack: Yeah I am! *finger guns*
Is Zack stronger than Sephiroth?
Zack: Not yet.
Why is Zack popular?
Zack: Uhhh.... because I'm a nice guy? At least I hope I am! I like to make friends, so maybe that's why.
Why is Zack called a puppy?
Zack: Because Angeal thought he was funny when he compared me to a puppy, so now the nickname stuck. I don't mind though! Although it'd be cool if I had a badass nickname like wolf. Or snake!
Why does Zack do squats?
Zack: Because it's fun! Plus, it's a great exercise. It strengthens your core and leg muscles. .....I also have a lot of energy and don't like being still for too long. It stresses me out.
Why is Zack so adorable?
Zack: Aww! Am I? That's just my natural charm.
Does Zack have ADHD?
Zack: The TV in my room is HD, yeah.

Breaking SJM news: a completely new series is (likely) on the way !!
Last night, I came across a veryyyy interesting YouTube video posted by Bloomsbury 4 weeks ago. Although the video was mostly super boring (talking numbers and finances), towards the end, we get this little nugget of information...
[Bloomsbury staff member]: "Regarding the timeline and future Sarah J Maas book releases, which are obviously very important to us... so her next title, which is the third in her Crescent City series, comes out on the 30th of January, 2024. So, that will fall into this financial year."
[Bloomsbury staff member]: "And thereafter, we have SIX further contracted titles -- so continuing this series, and STARTING A NEW SERIES AS WELL."
A new series! This likely goes hand-in-hand with the announcement made by Bloomsbury a couple of months prior, in which they stated that 4 additional SJM books were on the way (but curiously, no further details about these books were given...)
Although we don't know for sure, this is my guess as to what these 6 future SJM books are:
2 x ACOTAR books.
Then the 4 remaining, newly contracted books; the first being the final Crescent City book, House of Many Waters.
Leaving 3 x books for the new series (which makes perfect sense, as when starting a new series, SJM is always contracted for 3 books initially).
The question remains as to what exactly this new series may be. Which leads me to... Twilight of the Gods.
[SJM universe spoilers ahead!]
Back in 2015, SJM started a Pinterest board for 2 new book series that were connected in some way; one was Crescent City, and the other was called Twilight of the Gods.
Tumblr media
On her Twitter, SJM also mentioned that she had been working on both for quite a while, and that it was soon time to release them into the world.
Tumblr media
Around the same time, a series called 'Twilight of the Gods' was mysteriously added to SJM's official Goodreads catalogue.
Tumblr media
'Twilight of the Gods' is another term for Ragnarok; a famed tale of Norse mythology where the Gods and giants/demons across all worlds joined together to fight a giant battle that signified the end of the world.
Tumblr media
Thus, I believe that 'Twilight of the Gods' is SJM's next series; it will be a Ragnarok retelling, and all of the characters from TOG, ACOTAR and CC will join together for a cataclysmic battle against the Asteri, the Daglan, and the Valg (because lets not forget that Orcus and Mantyx are still unaccounted for...).
With this in mind, consider the numerous references to Norse mythology that SJM has already scattered throughout her books:
Feyre as Freya: Freya was perhaps one of the most renowned Norse goddesses, and was Queen.
Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn as the Valkyries: An obvious one, but the Valkyries originated from, and had a huge part to play in Norse Mythology (Ragnarok especially).
Lucien as Loki: According to Norse mythology, Loki is often depicted with long, red hair. He is also seen as a God of fire, and is commonly associated with foxes.
Danika (Fendyr) and Fenrys as Fenrir: Fenrir was a renowned monstrous wolf of Norse mythology. Fenrir being 'unleashed' is one of the key events of Ragnarok.
Hunt as Thor ('Thurr'): During Ragnarok, Thor has a famous battle against the 'Midgard Serpent.' Consider the snake that Hunt is holding on the cover of HOSAB.
Midgard: is the 'Earth' world in Norse mythology.
Hel (spelt the same way): Is the 'underworld' of Norse mythology.
Further, if you looked at SJM's "Twilight of the Gods" Pinterest board - before it was deleted - you'd see countless images of (Lady?) Thor, the Valkyries, Sailor Moon, and even the coffin that Maeve locked Aelin in... (that can't be a coincidence, right..?!) Some examples below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
'Twilight' is also another word for 'Dusk'; considering the lost Dusk Court, and 'Dusk's Truth' (both of which are the centre of the upcoming crossover and broader multiversal narrative...) it matches up perfectly.
Tumblr media
Thus, I believe that the remaining ACOTAR and CC books will continue to add to the multiverse, bit by bit. And whilst they can still be read in a standalone fashion, my guess is that they will build up to a grand finale (perhaps the very last ACOTAR book will end with Aelin walking through a portal...?) and then Twilight of the Gods will begin.
If you thought Kingdom of Ash was epic... then Twilight of the Gods -- if correct -- is bound to blow us away (and, it might even put SJM's name in the history books).

all will be alright in time [rtc what if…?]
'relinquish the crown' masterlist See my full list of works here!
Summary: Loki makes a realization about his role of keeping watch over the timelines when a branch slips from his grasp | sequel to 'bigger than the whole sky'
Pairing: Loki (God of Stories/Time) x Reader
Word Count: 6k [pls prep some drinkies & snacks before going in]
Warnings: 18+ | angst with a happy ending; some steamy moments at the end; this is the RTC universe so…themes of incest if you squint (he's adopted but still…); Loki S2 finale spoilers [let me know if i missed anything!]
Things to be aware of: no prior reading of RTC is required but reading 'bigger than the whole sky' is kind of required…
Dick-tionary: steamy moments (but no outright smut) starts at "We'll need it, my love." and ends at "Happy anniversary, my love"
Tumblr media
Time moved differently from where Loki sat, in his throne beyond space and time. It was as if he was simultaneously between two ticks of the clock and experiencing every moment to ever happen in every multiversal timeline all at once. He wouldn't be able to tell if two seconds or two millennia had passed since he bid you farewell.
All he knew was the routine he established. The one that functioned as his own form of a personal clock.
First he would choose one of the timelines at random, monitoring for any threats that could potentially be beyond the capabilities of that world's defenders. More often than not an iteration of Thor would be among that group, so he would check on the blond oaf as well.
In the timelines where his brother mourned him, he would send a snake or a black cat his way. The god's way to send a message. I miss you, too, Brother.
Then he would check on you within that timeline. He found that in a few of those lives you were not in league with his brother, but rather one of the innocents, living your life in a constant state of elevated awareness, anxiously waiting for the next invasion and preparing accordingly. In those lives, you found love with an echo of him. A hotel night manager. A decommissioned military tracker. Even a prince in some timelines. And in a few occasions, an actor.
After that he would check on your timeline. His final stop on his personal clock. Every time a slight anxiety would wash over him, wondering what he would find when he saw you this time.
The first few moons worth of visits he found you in bed, curled into a ball and clutching his pillow. You'd cried yourself to sleep, the disquiet showing on your features even in your slumbering state. You grieved long past what was customary in Asgard, seemingly returning to your wardrobe set in onyx fabric when in truth if one looked close enough it was truly set in the deepest emerald.
Grieving for the living. What a peculiar concept that ruled both your lives.
It was only after a year that you'd begun to re-integrate yourself into Asgard's society, most of your steps fumbling and truly only powering through with the support and occasional aid of your family, mainly Sif and Frigga. You'd made amends with Thor and Odin, apologizing for your behavior while you were under the effects of the spell that locked away your memories, telling them what you could of yours and Loki's story when you became ready.
Lately you'd been working on restructuring some lessons within the school curriculum, assuring that the information was kept up to date and refining where necessary. It gave the god a semblance of peace knowing that there was something that could finally occupy your mind that somewhat gave you some form of satisfaction.
With every cycle he checked on you the longest. Stayed with you until you were fast asleep.
After two years you visited Midgard, blending among the denizens of a town that still reverently worshipped the gods of Asgard and stayed with Loki's altar for a fortnight. You spoke with him as if he was right there in the sanctuary standing beside you, your hand still instinctively twitching to reach for his even after all the time that had passed.
Your last day on Midgard you placed an offering at the altar. Loki could have sworn his heart stopped beating for a good few moments once he caught sight of the gold wedding band laying atop the offering plate. "Husband, I know not if you can see or hear me, but I wanted you to have this. It's a Midgardian tradition, I know, but it's one that I was always quite fond of. To wear something on ourselves that could serve as a symbol of our love. Our fealty to one another. Had I not been under the spell's influence during our wedding I would have chosen to include this in our ceremony. This is the closest I will ever get to giving this to you, but I wanted you to have it regardless."
You placed your hands onto the altar, the god's air catching at the back of his throat and tears welling up in his eyes once he saw the matching gold band around your finger.
"I love you and I miss you desperately and always, my darling husband." You pressed your lips to the black and gold marble altar before walking away, keeping your head down to shield your tears.
It was possible that you'd assumed that the ring, similar to all other offerings on his and the neighboring altars, would either be swiped by a nameless faceless passerby or cleared away throughout the periodic tidying of the sanctuary. That it wouldn't even have crossed your mind that the moment that no eyes were on his altar, he'd conjured the ring over to him, and it was now worn on his finger for him to look upon fondly as he checked on you, pressing his lips to the gold band once you'd tucked yourself into bed for the night, hoping that somehow you would feel the message he was sending you through space and time.
Goodnight, little Princess. I shall see you again tomorrow.
In the years that had passed, you continued to work on various texts, constantly revising on parchments and going back and forth in the library you held in your chambers, still so careful not to disturb Loki's side of the shelves that housed his journals and textbooks. The work had kept your mind occupied, and the people that surrounded you offered pleasant enough company that from an outsider's perspective, you seemed almost as lively as you once were.
They couldn't see that your smile never reached your eyes. They never heard the clipped quality of your laughter or how you would cut it short, the slight wince in your features as if you were admonishing yourself for granting yourself the permission to laugh. And the way that you would start playing with your wedding band straight after.
When he checked on you during what would have been the tenth anniversary of your wedding day, he found you once again curled up in your bed, shaking and screaming into a pillow as sobs wracked your body.
He couldn't help himself. He reached out to you, a breeze blowing through and ruffling your hair in a gentle caress despite all the closed windows and doors in your chambers. You immediately stilled your movements afterward, clutching your pillow tighter against yourself.
"I'm sorry, husband," you spoke into the quiet. "It hurts monumentally worse today."
For the first time in what felt like eons, he was unable to fight the urge of his hand twitching and reaching for yours. And his heart dropped as he felt a branch slip from his grasp.
"No," he hissed in a panic, already moving away from his throne to start chasing after it before the light inside of it began to fade and the branch would die.
Only it didn't. The green glow emanating from the branch remained as vibrant as it was when it was within Loki's grasp. It didn't even move too far away that he'd been able to return it to his hand after a few strides, as if nothing had happened.
"What--"
"I need to be honest, God of Time," a voice spoke from the void. "I was hoping you'd come to this realization a bit sooner."
"Who's out there?!" he yelled out, already conjuring duplicates of himself to be at the ready in case he would need to fight. "Show yourself, intruder."
First a pair of white glowing orbs materialized a mere few feet from where you once were the day that Loki last saw you. And then a body that resembled that of monks on Midgard, in robes that vaguely resembled the ones that he also wore, only set in different colors.
"There is no need to be alarmed, son of Odin. I pose no threat to you. I am the Watcher. I monitor all events within the multiverse, and I have been keeping an eye on how you have been adjusting to your new responsibility as the savior of the timelines."
"How did you get here?" He hadn't done away with his duplicates yet. Each of them were still poised to attack if this Watcher was lying and threatened the safety of the timelines. Any timeline.
"I was made aware of another set of eyes watching over the multiverse once you ascended your throne," the Watcher explained. "This plane is unreachable to most beings within these universes that we watch over, that is true. I am here and I can reach you because I live in the same plane. Think of it as a different room within a house."
"What realization did you speak of earlier?" He made the decision to move the topic along, his question about the branch not dying despite slipping from his fingers truly being the most pressing matter.
"You created a tree," the Watcher answered simply. "In its infancy, like any living thing, it requires a great amount of care. Do you agree?"
Why was this person speaking to him as if he were a child? "Yes, of course, but this doesn't explain what--"
"After it has been given enough time and care, however," he continued, not allowing the god to finish his sentence. "Would you also agree that it would not require as close of a supervision? Once a tree has grown to a certain size, on Earth or Asgard or any other realm, it requires less frequent tending to. It draws most of its energy, its nutrients, its life…from its foundation. The roots have become strong enough to support the rest of the tree, for the most part."
"I…I believe I'm beginning to see your point."
"You've created a tree," he repeated. "And its roots have taken form. They have strengthened. Now I know quite well how you are when spoonfed your answers, so I will leave the rest of this lesson for you to discover on your own. Be well, God of Time."
With that, the Watcher disappeared, once again leaving Loki on his lonesome. The lesson still not fully learned and due a good deal of experimentation.
He started with one branch in each hand, letting them slip from his grasp and observing how they behaved.   When there was no visible change and he'd realized that he couldn't feel any loss of life within those two branches, he released another pair. And another. And another.
Suddenly the lesson became crystal clear. He need not keep such vigilant watch on the timelines any longer. Much like a tree, it can be left to grow and flourish on its own, needing only the occasional visit to fortify and further nourish its foundation.
He could step down from this throne removed from time and space. He could end his isolation.
He could come home. To you.
It took a good long while, it could have been minutes or it could have been years, seeing as he constantly reinforced each branch with enough of his magic before setting them free. But finally his hands were empty, and the cape that had refashioned itself to hold more timelines roamed free as well.
He took a few moments to re-familiarize himself with his range of motion, bending and stretching in various positions to ensure that there were no sore points in his body. After that, it didn't take him long to decide on his next course of action.
Before he opened up a portal to his destination, he reinforced the foundation of the tree one last time, hopefully putting enough of a buffer that it would be a good long while before he would need to return.
Hopefully when he did, he would not be walking through the portal alone.
Once he was satisfied with the tree's reinforcements, and he could see that each branch was still existing safely and peacefully in its own place within the multiverse, he conjured a portal. Leading to the familiar corridors of Asgard's palace.
He'd forgotten what it felt like to have the sun on his face, to hear the footsteps of Asgard's people echoing throughout the halls. The sudden onslaught to his senses nearly disoriented him, but he persisted, striding down the hall and barely noticing how the people he passed began to look upon him and whisper words along the lines of Is that him? He's returned? Must we alert someone?
Soon enough he'd arrived at the doors to your chambers, nearly stumbling on his own feet because he couldn't move through the doors fast enough. "Y/N?" he called out, hoping that perhaps he'd arrived at an early enough hour of the day that you were still inside, preparing yourself for your duties ahead.
When enough time had passed with no answer, he accepted that he would have to embark on a search throughout the palace to find you.
"Before I have the guards take you, I expect you to explain yourself," a familiar aged voice pierced the silence of the room. "Who are you and why are you in the princess' marital cham--Loki?"
He turned and he was face to face with Odin, pure shock and a mixture of other expressions he'd never seen on the Allfather coloring his face. His mouth hung open, as if unable to find any words for what he was seeing.
"Hello, Father," Loki began, not entirely sure of what he could say after all the time that had passed. Before he could try and find any words, however, the Allfather's next action stunned him to complete silence.
He bent the knee, bowing his head to the ground.
"Come now, Father, this truly is unnecessary, there were times I've been gone for much longer," he attempted to joke, the tone coming out unnaturally, seeing as it had been eons since he'd actually spoken to anyone other than the Watcher.
Of course a tiny part of him relished in this moment, however. The Allfather bowed to no one. At least he thought…
"Y/N has kept us apprised of what you'd done, my son," he spoke, rising to his feet. "Of what you'd sacrificed to not only save the Nine Realms, but beyond our time, beyond our universe. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that all realms within her reach know the tale of your heroism. That they know you for who you truly are."
Odin motioned for him to look upon the parchments on your desk, illustrations depicting what you'd called "The Heart of Yggdrasil" on a handful of them.
"Children on Asgard and Midgard, and all realms in between, ask her what you are the god of now," Odin began to explain. "She tells them all that you are more than a god now. That you are the best of us. For those who cannot grasp such a large concept she named you the Keeper of Time. For the rest she named you the Savior of the Multiverse."
Loki found it near impossible to breathe trying to process the information, trying to understand that all this time the parchments that you'd been working on had been to tell one specific story. His story.
"She makes me seem some sort of hero," he said in awe.
"From the tales she has told, it is very much deserved." The Allfather clapped a hand on his shoulder, giving a squeeze as if making sure that he was truly there. "I'm proud of you, my son. We should have a ceremony to celebrate your return, and to anoint you your new titles. You have been greatly missed, by your family, by the people, but by no one more than Y/N."
There were no words he could muster to respond adequately other than, "Where is she? Where can I find my wife?"
Odin righted his stance, motioning toward the door. "I suggest trying the training fields. Thor does his best to keep her occupied so her mind won't wander too far. I suspect he will make more of an effort today considering--"
"Today marks a decade since our wedding," Loki finished, his heart constricting at the thought of you struggling to not even think of today, to keep yourself distracted until the last possible moment that you would have to be alone in your chambers, once again sobbing like he had seen you this morning. He began to step toward the corridor. "Thank you, Father."
Do not worry, my darling Y/N. You need not shed any more tears over our separation. Once I find you and have you in my embrace I will never let you go again.
When he made his way to the training gardens he was once again met with a pang of disappointment to find nobody there. Your sparring session with Thor must have reached its conclusion.
Still he attempted to call out to you. "Y/N? Little Princess?"
Again you did not answer, but Loki was met with another familiar voice. "Brother?"
He turned toward the direction of the voice, greeting Thor with a tentative smile, once again trying his hand at his former playful, mischievous tone. "Hello, Brother. Did you miss me?"
Once the blond god had made his way over he only responded by clapping both hands on his shoulders. "Y/N told us of your fate. How is this possible?"
"When last I saw her she stubbornly told me that there had to be another way," he explained, words getting caught in the lump in his throat. "I should have listened to my wife."
"She has been completely beside herself today," Thor offered, looking away the second his eyes began to fill with tears. He cleared his throat before speaking again. "It is agonizing seeing her like this, especially after she'd been doing so well the last few years. But today…today has taken its toll on her. More than she would ever admit, at least to me." He gave his brother's shoulders a light squeeze, not too dissimilar from how their father did a few moments ago. "Your return is the best possible gift you can give her today. Welcome back, Brother."
"Where can I find her?" Loki's tone had grown a touch desperate, his desire to find you and finally hold you again physically making his muscles ache. "Father told me to look here…"
"The armory," his brother finally answered. "She told me she would be there checking on the quality of the wooden swords for the young soldiers in training and that she wishes to be left alone, but I think she would be more than happy to make an exception for you."
He broke into a run, haphazardly thanking his brother before letting his feet carry him to the armory as fast as they could manage. The sound of your voice softly singing a familiar tune that brought him back to the days leading up to the festival for the Autumnal Equinox mere months before you two had become betrothed.
How shamefully oblivious he was back then to the fact that you'd been singing this while thinking of him. So consumed in his own efforts to hide away his affection for fear that you would find him so abominable that he had been unable to see that you had been doing exactly the same.
When he finally looked through the open door of the armory, it was as if he'd forgotten how to breathe, seeing how the light from the window hit your features just so that you seemed an angel. A forlorn angel with puffy eyes and a crease between your brows as you willed yourself to keep focused on the task at hand.
My darling wife.
Tumblr media
"No weapons for you today, dear Daughter," your father declared before plucking away your dagger from your hand and placing it down on a nearby bench. "Your mind is far too pre-occupied I cannot in good conscience allow you to spar with anything that could harm either of us."
Instead of sparring as you normally did, him with varying weapons while you stayed your course with your daggers, he tested your defenses. You knew quite well why he'd chosen to spar like this today. It was to keep your mind reactive, your reflexes sharp, and dissuade your mind from thinking of much else in the process.
But ultimately after a few rounds of him too easily breaking through your defenses of crossed arms weakly attempting to push back, he stopped. "Daughter, are you sure you wish to train today? I truly would understand if you wish to--"
"To what, Father?" you interjected, a slight sneer pulling at your upper lip. "To stay in the kitchens and gorge myself with every little cake and pastry I lay my sights on? To see how many pitchers of wine I could consume before I stumble into my chambers and fall asleep?"
"Y/N I simply meant--"
"Look, Father, I'm already sad. On any given day. There is nothing to gain in changing my routine today in a way that would make me any sadder. Today is simply another day, much like the day before and the day after." Your voice choked on your own words, as if your white lies were so potent your own body was recoiling against it. "I will be alright."
Those words tasted the most bitter on your tongue. No, you wouldn't be alright. You hadn't been alright for quite some time.
The sound of Halley's steps bounding toward where you and your father were standing did not alleviate your souring mood any. "Princess! Princess ohh have you heard--"
"Shall I take a guess, my friend?" She excitedly nodded her head telling you to continue. "Fandral and Narda have returned from their betrothal ceremonies across the Realms and they've revealed that they eloped. Probably in Vanaheim. Or even Alfheim."
Her smile dropped, concern coloring her features. "Y/N do you truly not know who has returned to us?"
You shook your head stubbornly. "Halley, much as I am elated for our friend I cannot bring myself to smile and put today out of my mind. Please, do go and send my congratulations to both of them when you see them later in the day but…I'm afraid that I will simply be poor company to keep today."
The words were near impossible to utter through the lump in your throat, a slight hiccup escaping you and making you step away from both of them.
"Princess, if you would please--"
"I will be in the armory," you spoke dismissively. "Ensuring that the wooden swords are still safe to be used. I would appreciate it if I were to be left alone for the remainder of the day."
Thor knew there were no words that could bring you comfort this day in particular, so all he could do was respect your wishes. "I shall have the staff bring your dinner to the armory then."
You gave both him and Halley a single nod before you strode down the corridors toward the armory, sloppily wiping at the fat tears rolling down your cheeks with the sleeve of your dress. Normally you were able to put up a brave enough front so that your friends and family would not have to be so concerned for your well-being, but today…today was nearly impossible to maintain that facade.
Too many thoughts plagued you today of how your hours could have been spent celebrating with your husband; you felt as if the sun was cruel to pull you from those blissful dreams where Loki was by your side and you got to celebrate a decade together like you were meant to. The dreams had felt so real, much like the first times you'd dreamt of your beloved when salacious images overtook your subconscious. So real that when you were ripped from them you couldn't hold back the tears that wracked your body.
And things were only made worse when you felt the breeze in your chambers. The windows were closed, and as were the doors. There should be no wind coming in to your bed chambers, and by that logic you knew exactly what had caused the anomaly.
And guilt overcame you knowing that you'd given your husband enough cause for concern crying in bed the way you were so early in the day that he reached out. The gentle caresses of the breeze that should not be possible ruffling your hair as if trying to tuck it behind your ear the way he used to.
He had enough on his mind keeping watch of all the timelines, he should not be burdened further by witnessing your grieving.
You hadn't felt him at all since that exchange, and for the most part you were grateful for it. The memory of his words the last time you saw each other worsened your guilt. I can't hold you. I couldn't watch you break like this and do nothing.
Perhaps it was better that he look away.
You made your way to the rack that held the wooden swords, lightly running a finger across the dulled blades and immediately finding a dented spot that formed a sharp corner. "That won't do…" you muttered, pulling up a stool and grabbing some sanding paper from a nearby drawer to start filing away and dull the weapon once more.
Absentmindedly you'd begun to start humming an old tune you once sang in the music room, back then trying to express your frustration over finding yourself falling in love with Loki.
I'd let you ruin the rest of my life
How was it that somehow the words rang truer now that you were his wife compared to back then when you were still in the midst of falling?
The sound of another humming along to the tune had you sitting up with your back ramrod straight and alert. "I said I wished to be alone why is everyone so insistent on--" You turned around to berate the unwelcome visitor, only for your words to die off in a rather unbecoming sound in the back of your throat as you saw the figure at the door.
"Hello, little Princess."
"Oh Norns, this is it," you muttered to yourself. "I've finally lost my grip on reality. Hallucinating my husband in the middle of the day and I haven't even had a single sip of wine." You promptly put away the wooden sword and disposed of the sanding paper. "Perhaps I'd inhaled too much of the wood dust and now it's having a bizarre effect on me--"
Your words were cut short feeling a hand curve around your waist, a body walking up behind you and pressing against your back. "I promise you, my love, this is no hallucination…" The air around you became near impossible to breathe as his arm wrapped around your waist, working his free hand up to put your hair over your shoulder and expose the back of your neck.
"Why does this feel so real?" you questioned breathily when your illusion had pressed his lips to the back of your neck, kissing a path to your ear, your voice thinning to the point you could barely utter the words. "Is this Valhalla?"
"No, my darling," he mumbled against your hear, his exhale warming your skin. He turned you around in his arms, placing your hands over his shoulders. "I truly am here. With you."
Tears began to blur your eyes as you tentatively touched your hand to his hair, the air leaving your lungs once he turned his head to kiss a trail from your palm to the inside of your wrist, his eyes never leaving yours.
You shook your head at him, refusing to accept what was right in front of you. "Loki I said no more illusions, don't do this to me," you pleaded, already starting to step back from him.
He had his arms around you, pulling you back into his embrace the second you moved even a fraction of an inch away from him. "This is no illusion, little Princess, I swear to you." He brought your hands back up to his lips, pressing a kiss to each knuckle. "I'm here. I'm not going anywhere. Not without you."
Before you could utter a word in question, he grabbed the back of your neck and captured your lips in a desperate kiss, his other arm wrapping around you to lift you off the ground and set you down on the now empty wooden desk. You whimpered against him when his hands began to roam your body, grasping frantically at whatever was within his reach to press you harder against him.
You felt the sting of hot tears behind your eyes as you held on to him just as tight, feeling the skin straining and stretching over your knuckles with how hard you grasped at his back. If this was real, you would not allow him to slip from your fingers so easily.
Not like last time.
This time when you pulled away he was still there. You both were. "How is this possible?" you breathed out, your stubborn mind finally beginning to relent and accept that perhaps he truly was here, that this was no illusion cast by your husband to calm you some on what should be such an auspicious day for both of you. You rested your head on his shoulder, tears once again starting to fall down your cheeks. "How are you here?"
"I was wrong, little Princess. There was another way. It took a good deal of time for the solution to be plausible, but I finally found another way."
Neither of you moved from your spot, him stroking your hair and pressing a kiss to the top of your head whenever you sniffled, as he told you about how he'd seen you in your state just this morning and how the branch slipped from his hold. About the other being on that plane of existence called The Watcher leading him to the discovery that a strong enough foundation had finally been built. That now it would only need the occasional visit from him to ensure that its foundation was continually strengthened.
And finally about how the first thing he thought of once he was fully freed from the branches of the timelines was coming home and finding you.
You sat quiet for a good few moments, allowing his words to sink in before you spoke again.  "Does this mean…you're staying?" you managed to choke out before a fresh wave of tears begun to fall from your eyes.
"Yes, my love," he whispered into your hair, pressing a tender kiss to the same spot before tilting your head to look up at him, wiping your tears away. "I'm home."
He pressed his lips to yours once more, smiling against your lips when you threw your arms around his neck. He tightened his hold on you, breathing out a slight chuckle when you yelped at the feeling of the table disappearing from under you. When you opened your eyes, you were suddenly in your bed chambers, your husband carrying you across the room in his arms.
"That's…new…" you mumbled against his lips when he kissed you again.
"Eons have passed for me since last we saw each other in our chambers, my darling wife," he whispered into your skin, placing a soft lingering kiss below your ear before laying you down on the bed, your back settling into the soft mattress. "And yet through all that time my body, my heart, only ever craved to have you with me again."
Your heart felt as if it could burst at any moment. After all the time that had passed, it felt completely foreign to you, finally feeling as if you were no longer simply dragging yourself through life. There was no longer a void in your life in the shape of your beloved.
The visions of what your new future could hold now that he had returned overwhelmed you, rendering you unable to do much of anything other than pull him down to you so you could kiss him again, sighing into his mouth when he pressed his weight onto the bed and proceeded to deepen your kiss.
"In that time, little Princess, let's just say my abilities have…evolved. And in mastering them all, I've often thought about how I might use those abilities in this very room. Once we'd reunited and your memories have all been freed."
A small gasp escaped you as you watched a wave of his magic washed over the entirety of your chambers, a slight barrier appearing by the windows and doors before visibly fading into nothing. "Silencing enchantment?" you queried, unable to help the smile that stretched across your face.
"We'll need it, my love." With a small twitch of his fingers, both his robes and your dress dissolved into nothing, baring your bodies to each other. "Oh how I've missed this," he rasped, a thrill shooting through you as you watched him rake his eyes across your body before licking his lips. "How I've missed you."
"Husband," you whined, squirming under his gaze, the undeniable affection and desire shining in his eyes stealing all the breath from your lungs. "I've missed you."
Loki leaned down to hover over you, lips tracing along the bridge of your nose before proceeding to press featherlight kisses all over your face, letting out a shuddering groan when skin met skin, your chests pressed together as you trailed your fingertips down the length of his arm. Once you reached his hand, lacing your fingers between his, tears began to well in your eyes again as the gold band around his ring caught the light.
"You got the ring," you said in wonder, your breath coming out like a bewildered chuckle as he brought your hand up to his mouth to kiss along the backs of your fingers.
"Of course I did. For so long it was the only thing that brought me a sense of comfort, every time I looked upon it, it was almost as if I could feel you with me." He released your hand, leaning back down to capture your lips in a slow, languorous kiss. "And now I finally do."
You moaned against his lips as his hand wrapped around your knee, hooking your leg around him as he proceeded to roll his hips into yours.
"I know we should probably announce my return," he said in a teasing tone. "But I haven't even the slightest urge at the moment to do anything other than…reunite with my darling wife." He smirked against your lips as you whimpered desperately at the feel of him lining himself up at your entrance. "The only thing I plan on keeping for the foreseeable future is the love of my life, on our marital bed. Any and all forms of clothing forbidden."
"I have no objections to that," you said back breathlessly. "Happy anniversary, husband."
"Happy anniversary, my love."
Tumblr media
One day, centuries after your reunion, Loki helped you into a set of robes that seemed more suitable for lounging than anything else before conjuring up a portal that led back to the tree. He would have to be there for a while, tending to the branching timelines and ensuring that they would all stand on their own for a good long while after he would once again leave them to grow and flourish on their own.
"I want you to come with me, darling. We could make an adventure of it."
He didn't need to ask twice. You would go to the ends of the world with him.
He held your hand firmly in his as he led you through the portal toward the solitary throne he once occupied, giving you a soft smile as you discovered the changes he made to the space before he went home to you all those years ago.
There were now two thrones at the heart of the tree.

strange creatures with soft fur (headcanons of Loki playing with your cat)
Timeline: unknown
TW: no one / just fluff
Pairing: Loki x female!y/n
Note: since I'm in my room, blocked with an unknown kitten on my lap (we found her on the street this morning) let's see If I can write something themed for our favourite God of Mischief; enjoy ~
Tumblr media
"what's that...black ball of fur?" is the first thing he said to you when he found that you have a female cat on your home on Midgard
you introduced your adult cat to him and you make both of them promise that they will be kind to each other
"little one, this is Loki. Be gentle with him."
"she's hissing at me? how dare you."
he pointed a finger to the cat and she slapped it with his paw
they have the same energy but they don't seem matching
it's just the first impression, it will get better with time
your cat loves waiting for Loki around corners and attach to his long robe to play and bite his coat
that's why he doesn't want you to bring your cat to Asgard
at the very beginning Loki wasn't used to the animals of Earth and everything is strange for him
"Loki, you have a wolf and a giant snake as a pet, and you find strange dealing with mine?"
"My pets are perfectly fine, is your cat that is unpredictable."
all of the clothes that he leaves around ended up covered in fur and full of little bites holes
Loki's body is cold because of his Frost Giant nature, so your cat doesn't like to go to sleep on him
but sometimes when he's studying beside the fire, she might decide to make the loaf on Loki's desk
of course, on his document and the books he was reading (after throwing to the ground everything she can just because)
he cannot stop himself to try little magic tricks on your cat when you're not in the room
one time he transformed her into a panther
"she's more fierce like this, and she's going to protect you better, that little ball of fur can't to nothing except hissing and biting my clothes."
"...alright I'll transform her back."
Loki's hand's are constantly covered of scratches and little red marks
after some times, one day you'll find them playing together with a strip of green fabric
you didn't interrupt the moment, you just look at them from the slightly open door
he was smiling so kindly and with a sincere tone on his voice, you perfectly know that Loki loves animals
he's even making her play creating small fireworks from his hand, and the cat is trying to chase them like soap bubbles
one day you'll hear Loki's voice calling from the other room because he needs to show you something
he was so proud to show you that your cat decided to fall asleep on his lap
"what can I say, everyone loves me...after a long period of disapproval."
from that day, she was purring everytime he saw him and the officially became friends
also Frigga find herself in love with that "exotic animal" you brought on Asgard
surprisingly after a couple of months he came back home with a little white kitten
"Loki, what's that?" you asked tenderly
"I thought she needed a little sister..."
so, at the end of the story, he has two little ball of fur and his girlfriend sleeping on him while he's trying to read
at least you will keep him warm
We're done for now~
It was so much fun writing this you've no idea! Hope you enjoyed as much I did.
Kisses💚

You continue to stand observing the stars from afar, glimmering luminously before your eyes. Asgard has just been destroyed due to the events of Ragnarok and the people have lost their home — for now. They were currently heading towards Midgard via a spaceship to take refuge there. Midgardians were one of the lesser intelligent species across the nine realms, but they could be very welcoming at times. Maybe they could build a new life over there…
Footsteps begin to advance towards you from behind, causing you to snap out of your thoughts and turn toward the disruption, only to spot the God of Mishcief approaching you.
A surprised yet secretly pleased expression forms on your face at the sight of Loki. You hadn’t had a proper conversation with him ever since your… fight. About him faking his death twice and impersonating Odin for years and posing to be king and betraying all of Asgard and especially you.
Yeah. A fight was one way to put it.
“Loki,” you breathe softly.
Loki connects his emerald eyes with yours, seeming to be holding something back. He was never one to hesitate, you knew that. He was always so outspoken — you’ve never seen him so rattled like this.
“I… I’m sorry, and I love you,” he mumbles in a soft tone, breaking the eye contact.
Your eyes quickly shoot up towards his, surprised with his sudden burst of affection. Before you could even gather up the words to speak up, he interupts you.
“You don’t have to say anything or even forgive me, but… I realize that I haven't been the best partner to you, and for that I am.. sorry. You have only ever been good to me, and," he stops himself to gently grab your hands and pull you closer. "You deserve so much more. I promise to you that I will do better. If you will let me.”
He sighs deeply, finally maintaining the eye contact and taking a step towards you.
“I’ve missed you since the moment you walked away from me, and I deeply regret letting you go so easily. That will never happen again — I promise.”
After all these years, you are finally hearing the words you’ve been longing to hear from Loki — and then some. You always thought it was a farfetched fantasy, but for once, it actually feels as though he was willing to change. That this time might be different.
You’ve already made the same mistake — twice — forgiving him then only for him to repeat the same mistake and somehow make it worse than how it was before. But, that’s the thing. Even after all his lies, all the betrayals you have endured because of him…
You never once regretted forgiving him.
“The Loki Odinson, God of Mischief, owning up to his past? My, where have I been this whole time?”
Loki playfully rolls his eyes. “Don’t flatter yourself, darling.”
A soft yet meaningful smile curves on your lips as you take a moment to process the last word that he said.
“You haven’t called me that since our fight.”
“And you haven’t looked at me with those eyes ever since I faked my death.”
“With what eyes?” You raise an oblivious eyebrow, fully knowing what he was talking about.
Loki softly shakes his head at your teasing before you let out a light chuckle once more. You gaze upon the long-haired frost giant, biting your inner cheek as you watch Loki being vulnerable to you for the first time.
"Loki," you call out in a soft tone, one gentle hand snaking up to his shoulder. "I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have let go of you so easily either. You were right — I was too quick to give up on us. But, never again. This time, we’ll try even harder to make things truly work. Agreed?”
A soft smile forms on his face — one that was sincere in a way that he never usually shows.
“Agreed.”
Before you could even react one more second, Loki cuts you off with an action that he only does once every blue moon. An action that neither of you can even recall when he last did it.
You feel gentle arms wrap you in a warm embrace. Being in his mere presence made you feel safe and at home — in a way that not even your physical home has ever made you feel. But being with him — reuniting with Loki once more — you knew, with the utmost confidence, that he was your true home. And there was no place you would rather be.

The Old Gods and The New - Chapter 14
Tumblr media
Let's Go Home | Loki x Reader
You and Loki continue to practice your magic, relaxing and enjoying some peaceful quality time together at his cabin while you discuss your future...until you find something odd by the fireplace. A thunderstorm brings a familiar face and a warning.
Warnings: Rated f for fluffy and T for Thor. Some language, suggestion of sex and Avengers being mean to Loki.

Tumblr media
The evening crept slowly up the valley towards the cabin, like a lover it softly wound its way around your twin flames, green and blue, that had warmed you during the day.
“We should retreat for the night,” Loki suggested, patting your leg and standing with a stretch of his long limbs. You couldn’t help but admire the way his thick aran sweater rose up his muscular back, revealing a strip of skin. Your heart thudded even harder when he turned to you, “are you coming, darling?” His lips twitched with the suggestion of a smirk and you smiled back, allowing him to pull you into his arms so you could walk back inside together.
Loki’s flame coiled around itself until it became a serpent, following you over the dark wooden boards of the decking. Loki bathed in the joy of your smile, overcome with pride when you left his arms to stare at your own blue flame, still flickering alone in the darkness. It grew lower without your attention, and, to your joint surprise, rose into a small, fat, fiery, calf, its shaggy, flame hair, bounced in front of its wide eyes as it playfully chased Loki’s snake through the kitchen door.
“Well, I didn’t expect a cow.” Loki sighed, looking at you expectantly.
“Neither did I!”
“You didn’t make it on purpose?”
“No! I just thought about your snake and how I’d like to be able to make my own animal and…the flame moulded itself,” you shrugged one shoulder, “isn’t it cute though!”
The flames, one stately and precise, one bounding, made their way to the hearth in the living area. The snake wound itself around the smaller kindling, settling inside them as if to sleep, while the calf climbed atop the still smouldering log and allowed its flame to melt slowly into the growing embers.
You stared at the spectacle, “I never knew you could do that.”
“Neither did I, darling,” Loki muttered, “neither did I.”
Tumblr media
The fire continued to crackle merrily in the hearth, the images of your snake and calf now blurred together in the flames, and you snuggled down on the floor, bowls on the coffee table, to enjoy your meal. Sat on the floor of the cabin, woollen socks wrapped around your toes and Loki’s soft smile watching you, it was easy to forget that yesterday you’d been readying for a mission. Such a leisurely meal felt odd compared to the hurried snack you’d snuck into your handbag, too nervous to eat anything more.
Between you, you pulled a few more tins and cans from the cupboards and Loki used his magic to provide any of the staples you couldn’t find. Working around each other, the candle lights flickering against the backdrop of the bare stone, you made a simple dinner of stew with heavy dumplings floating in the rich gravy. Loki seemed to have a magical bakery, solely for your use, and procured thick slabs of crusty white bread and salted butter from a wave of his hand.
The candles flickered and you caught Loki’s eyes resting on you.
“Will we go back to Tønsberg ?” You asked, mopping the last of your gravy with a slice of bread.
“If you liked it there,” Loki watched, amused, as you attempted to lick away the butter caught on your lip, before leaning forwards and brushing it away with his thumb.
“Do you like it there?” You raised an eyebrow, unsure of how much Loki really did like being with the other Asgardians.
“Yes, of course.” He chuckled, “I know that it appears to Midgard that I am the eternal black sheep, as it were, but I can assure you that that is part of my role. I should love to live among my people again.”
“Okay.” You nodded and went back to your stew, truthfully thinking of settling anywhere was such a new concept you weren’t sure what to think.
“Asynja -” he said sternly, “if you no longer wish to reside there, you only have to say. We can go wherever you’d like.”
“No, no, it’s not that it’s just -” you weren’t sure how to explain, that village was beautiful, welcoming and awe inspiring, cosy and incredible all at once. Placed so carefully along the shoreline it was like stepping into a postcard. But it was also the same place you’d been kidnapped. Even if you were taken somewhere else afterwards, you weren’t sure you’d ever walk along the street alone again. But Loki made so much sense, that was his home, his people and he’d lost so much already - your mind spiralled, your spoon dropping into your bowl with a wet splash.
“My darling,” Loki reached for you, pulling you into his embrace, your back resting on his chest and his chin tucked over your shoulder, “I’ll never let you out of my sight again, do you understand?” You nodded against him and he nuzzled into your neck, kissing you gently. “No harm will ever come to you again, I simply will not allow it. You are far too precious, my wonderful, beautiful Goddess, to be allowed to suffer in any way.” He kissed your cheek and neck again, his breath so close it felt like your own.
“Loki -” you whined, fidgeting in his grasp, always so bashful in his earnest declarations.
“Darling,” he sighed in answer.
“Take me to bed.” You turned to look over your shoulder to find his eyes sparkling and his face happy, relaxed. With one smooth movement he stood, carrying you in his arms to the bedroom.
Tumblr media
You slept fitfully that night, strange dreams haunting you and dragging you in and out of consciousness. Everytime you stirred Loki held you tight, his body warmed by the blankets and the comforting heat that radiated from your back as he wound his arms around you again.
“Shhh, it’s just dreams.” His voice called through the night, a low whistle behind the screams of the fallen, fire raging and pulling the air from the room - you thrashed and fought - animals raced before your eyes, cows, sheep, a lamb with a fleece of pure flame. You tried to reach for them, to look for water, for help, and none came, the more you fought the higher the flames stretched.
“My darling, I’m here.” Loki’s voice was a rumble through your chest, your very heart reverberating in response. A cool palm pressed against your forehead, the other sitting low on your stomach, fingers dimpling in your soft belly, his legs entwined with yours, your feet sliding on his shins as you moved - “I’m here, and you are safe and well, there is nothing to fear.”
The flames dimmed, flickering and faltering until the sun reclaimed them, at once setting and then rising again, higher than before, bathing the world in glowing light.
You hummed, eyebrows creased, shuffling back into Loki’s strong, secure arms, the flat, firm plane of his chest grounded you, so strong you couldn’t fight against his hold, your body relaxing under his touch. Loki’s breath tickled across your shoulder, leading the way for his lips to place kisses on your bare skin.
Though the sun shone above, the burnt ground didn’t crack or falter, but sighed, water rising to the surface, ashes pooling and running over the ruins. Between each minute pearl of soil a seedling raised its face to the sky, opening its arms and forging forward, growing taller and taller, branches, leaves and roots filling the sky, creaking under the weight of fruit, bouncing with the force of birds taking flight, raining soft blossom onto your upturned face.
You smiled, sleepily pulling Loki’s hand towards your face and mouthing, “I love you,” into his palm.
Was that the feeling that had been drawing him closer these past months, the thread that seemed to sinch around his heart, tied with a bow around your little finger, ready at your beck and call. Was that the feeling that made his blood burn when you were taken? Was this the feeling that told him you were his and his alone, that angry bubble that swelled whenever anyone dared to touch you. Was that the feeling that made him feel soft and secure and safe.
Was it love?
He lay awake, watching your features soften as your nightmare passed into blissful dreams once more.
In the living room of the cabin, the box burned brightly again, seeking its lost treasure.
Tumblr media
Not for the first time, Thor wondered how he’d ended up with a younger brother capable of causing him so much bother. He’d been happily eating a new flavour of Midgardian breakfasting food, noting it’s sweeter flavour and fruity inside, when Tony had sat down opposite him and snatched both the box and Thor’s plate away.
“C’mon, Cinnabon, where are they?” Tony looked decidedly too serious for 9am in the morning, a time when Thor much preferred to have a relaxing breakfast after his run and before his gym session with the Captain. These Midgardians had far too much of a sense of time and far too little ability to enjoy the moment.
“Where are who?” Thor asked, taking the box back with ease, “try our new secret flavour, can you guess what it is?” the box asked and Thor let out a single guffaw, “you Midgardians are so funny, why not just buy the flavour that you want to eat.” He laughed again, shaking his head and eating the second half of his breakfast in a single bite.
“It’s a marketing thing, don’t dodge the question.” Tony snapped, reaching for the box again.
“Uhm nah bodging dah westion,” Thor said, still chewing.
“You know where they are.” Tony stared him down and Thor rolled his eyes.
“Why do you care, Stark. You got your toplap thing-”
“Laptop-”
“Toplap, laptop, who cares, they got it for you, now you have it and they are who knows where,” he shrugged, brushing crumbs from his beard, “I certainly do not care, my brother can be quarrelsome, but there has not been a single cross word between us since you paired him up with that little troublemaker. He is quite taken with her, he behaves like a Prince now.” Thor took a swig from a large mug, “and she is very agreeable. Funny, kind, she matches Loki’s temperament supremely well, Stark. I must commend your match making efforts.” Thor narrowed his eyes. He knew how the team thought of him, a tool for their schemes and plans, but ostensibly an idiot. As if spending a thousand years training at the heels of his mother and father hadn’t taught him anything of diplomacy.
Tony gave an exasperated sigh, “this was not about match making this was about - you know what, nevermind. We can’t have them loose on Earth, we need to know where they are, or did you forget your brother is also a criminal here?”
“He served his time on Asgard.” Thor swept the crumbs from the table onto his plate with a single swipe of his hand. Prince he may be, but his mother, nanny and tutors had taught him manners at least and it gave him a distraction from thinking about what a disaster Loki’s penance had been, how hard he’d fought for any justice for his brother beyond locking him away.
“And what about the girl, Estrid,” Tony continued.
“What crime has she committed - save for giving you a run for your money, eh, Stark, it is no crime to be a nuisance!” Thor laughed again, “Or my brother would certainly still be behind Asgardian bars once more.” He willed the man to take the out he was trying to give, the conversation at a dead end unless Stark backed down.
“Thor, we need to be serious about this, we still don’t know what kind of powers she holds or why, she had a fucking spear, it was on fire. There are other people involved now.” Tony was grinding his teeth in frustration, his eyes dark and set.
Thor pushed his mug and plate to one side, clasping his hands together in front of him on the table.
“I say this with the utmost respect for your planet, Stark. Though I note you are not a ruler here, merely a player. But Loki is a Prince of Asgard, he is my brother. I have helped you when necessary, I have brought him to justice when required. But we live long lives and we are merciful people. He has served his time, we have discussed his reasons and agreed he was under duress, and I will not aid you in any further punishment you feel that he deserves.”
“He killed people, Thor, you can’t just -”
“And how many people have you killed, Stark? With your weapons? Deliberately and for profit. I will not tell you again. Loki is my brother, his justice has been dealt with by Asgard, as has his rehabilitation. You required our help and we gave it, the girl made her own choices and has decided to leave with Loki. You have no jurisdiction over either of them. You will leave them both alone.” Tony opened his mouth to speak, but Thor stood to his full height, hands still planted on the table as he bent forwards, “I will hear no more of my brother being a criminal-”
“But -”
“Or of the girl belonging here, she is free to choose her allegiance and if she chooses Asgard then we will accept her with open arms. I will place her under my protection, as Crown Prince of Asgard, and I have faith our King will do the same. Do not bother me with this nonsense again.”
Thor stormed from the room, calling Mjolnir without a backward glance.
Tumblr media
You woke late the next morning, your head fuzzy and the bed empty. The sheets were still warm to the touch where Loki had laid next to you, even his socks were still on the bare floorboards beside the bed.
With a smile you tripped out of bed, opening the curtains to another crisp day, the frost clinging to the edges of each leaf like glitter and marbling the window with stars. Sapphire magic swirled around your feet, covering them with soft woollen tights, curling around each leg, your shoulders, once bare, felt soft cashmere fall down each arm and over your hips, stopping at your mid thighs and brushing against you as you moved away from the window. You’d seen this outfit in a magazine a few weeks ago and now all your magic needed was a flash of inspiration to create it for you.
It was strange to be able to wield such power now, to have your fire at your fingertips, to dream things into existence, and yet Loki had lived like this for a millenia. How long had you had this ability, pressed down and restricted by the unseen hands of others? As nice as it was to live quietly for a while, a thousand questions still invaded your thoughts.
Padding into the living room you lent against the wooden beam between the kitchen and living room, watching Loki quietly. He was wearing a pair of dark black and green plaid pyjama trousers and nothing else. His strong back rippled with muscle with every movement as he laid out toast and tea on a kitchen table. He was humming a tune again, brushing the back of his hand over his forehead. He turned, catching your eye and smiling while you allowed your eyes to wander down his chiselled chest. Even making breakfast he was every bit a god, as if he’d been created from the purest marble.
“Good morning, my darling ásynja, how’re you feeling?” With his hands on your waist he drew you into his embrace and you wound yourself around him in response.
“I’m feeling okay, tired though, I had the strangest dreams.” He rubbed a hand down your back and you let your fingers trace the indents on his stomach.
“You were thrashing in the night, I was worried.” He kissed your temple and, using a single finger, tipped your chin up so he could study your face, “do you wish to discuss it?”
“After toast, maybe.” You smiled, kissing him back, soft and slow and lazy.
Tumblr media
You ate together, curled on the sofa, and watched the hazy frost of the morning get darker as rain rolled in, the droplets catching on the glass. When the fire died down Loki knelt to relight it but jumped back, cursing, his hand bleeding.
“Loki, are you okay?” You jumped from the sofa, but Loki held his hand out to keep you back.
“There’s something sharp down here, I don’t want you to cut your feet.” He moved his hand and light began to glow brighter around the hearth.
“I’m getting something to clean that with.” You climbed over the back of the sofa instead and hurried to the kitchen for a clean cloth and some water.
Loki continued to search for the object, poking at the ashes around the tiles until he found the two halves of the broken glass bead that had escaped the box the night before. “I think I found something.”
You both returned to the coach and, after insisting on cleaning the cut on Loki’s palm, you took the two glass halves from him.
“What on earth is it?”
Bigger than a normal marble it was milky and opaque, like Loki it seemed to hum with magic, drawing you closer. Experimentally you pressed both halves together and, with a jolt, they fused allowing its message to be told once more.
“I saw a vision of a flock in chaos, a tup of pure chaos and a ewe of love, a ram standing watch, a singular lamb frolicking, a lamb with a fiery fleece. It has burnt the farm. But from the ashes rises lush land, strong crops and healthy babes. I have told this vision to my husband, and Lugh, he does not believe me when I say she is no threat, he believes this to be a prophecy of Ragnarok, he cannot see the verdant land beyond the fire. You must hide the girl, my friend, should they reach her I fear destruction, for the Nine Realms, or for her.”
Stunned you both stared at each other.
“That was my mother.” Loki looked tearful, but there was a soft smile on his face, “I missed her voice.”
You held his, uninjured, hand and squeezed it, “do you understand what she was saying?”
“All I know is Ragnarok, and sadly that has already consumed Asgard. If it was prophesying the end of my land then it has already come true.” He looked out of the window into the relentless rain that cloaked the valley. “My mother was Vanir, they are known for their prophecies, but my mother often kept them to herself, to protect people from their own fear. To share a prophecy, she must have been incredibly worried.”
“She was talking to Lugh, the man from Baron Zemo’s house?”
Loki looked at you, long and hard, and you watched his thoughts race behind his eyes as he nodded.
You hummed, thinking over this revelation, if this prophecy was something Lugh needed to know, but it was about a girl, and he was so keen to protect you… “is this about me?” You chewed on your thumb, considering who you could be the ewe? The lamb?
Loki reached out and pulled you closer again until you were curled into his lap, eyes focussed on the rain, lost in your thoughts. “I’m wondering the same thing,” he didn’t even need to read your mind to know what you were worried about, the prophecy had to be about you.
“We should share this with someone,” you suggested, taking a deep shaking breath and allowing your body to relax into his arms, your head on his shoulder. “I - I don’t want to tell anyone, but I also think -” your mind raced, whatever was coming sounded huge, destructive, and you didn’t want to be responsible. Someone had to have a way out.
“Let us leave and seek advice, it was in our plans to return to Tønsberg and we may be able to find someone there who can tell us more.” Loki kissed your temple, “and I cannot lie to you, my darling, I am longing to see you among my people again.”
Outside the rain turned almost sideways, lashing the window while the sky rumbled and a flash of blinding light lit up the otherwise dim cabin, when it faded there was a figure silhouetted on the other side of the window.
“Oh my god!” You shouted, turning into Loki and hiding your face, fingers digging into your shoulders. “Loki!” Instinctively a plate of armour had covered your chest and shoulders and Loki was both pleasantly surprised that your magic was starting to react to you so naturally, and very relieved that you hadn’t also conjured your spear.
His chest gave an answering rumble as laughter bubble up, “my darling, look again.” He tipped your chin up and there, through the window, was Thor, his wet hair dripping in long shanks over his shoulders but he lifted Mjolnir to wave at you through the window, his usual friendly smile plastered on his face.
Tumblr media
Thor entered the cabin doorway a sodden mess, but was dry and in a hoody and sweat pants before he reached the comfort of the fire, Loki’s magic banishing his soaked clothes to the bathroom to dry. The God perched his hammer by the hearth and warmed his hands.
“Thank you for the shelter, brother, though I do enjoy a good storm, it is much more enjoyable from behind the window.” He smiled, turning his back to the fire and his sparkling eyes to you. “And how are you, trouble?” He asked.
“Trouble? Me!” You protested with a laugh, “I’ll have you know I’ve been very well behaved.” You laughed, allowing him to pull you into a firm hug.
Loki returned to the living room with a tray of mulled wine and ginger cookies.
“Tell him, Loki, I’ve been right here, practising my magic, laying low.” Thor thumped onto the floor, leaning on the coffee table and holding his mug in his hand, you chose to use the handle, balancing a cookie on the arm of the couch.
“That, little one, appears to be the trouble.”
“Out with it, Thor, we’ve had enough cryptic messages for one day.” Loki drawled, sprawling onto the couch beside you.
Thor raised his eyebrow, intrigued. “Well I certainly wish to hear these other cryptic messages, but what I mean, brother, is that Stark wishes to see his ward back in his compound.
“I’m not his ward!”
“She’s not his ward!”
You protested at the same time.
“Well, this is not the way that Stark sees it, he wishes for you to return,” he pointed at you and then Loki, “and for you to be imprisoned again, I suppose. He wanted me to aid him in returning you both.”
Loki shot to his feet, standing in front of you, “she goes nowhere.”
Thor sprawled backwards, “fear not, I did not agree with him. I told him you are both under the protection of Asgard,” he looked around Loki’s legs, “should you wish, of course,” he winked.
“We wish, we definitely wish.” You placed a reassuring hand on the small of Loki’s back, tugging him back to the sofa by his waistband.
“Well then, shall we return to Asga - Tønsberg ?” Thor stood, hand out to retrieve Mjolnir and smiled at you both.
“I think there’s something you should hear first.” Loki said thoughtfully, settling back into his seat.
Thor raised his eyebrows, “you wish to delay reaching the safety of Tønsberg?”
“Have you ever heard of any of mother’s prophecies?” Loki had already started pulling the two milky halves of the marble from his pocket.
“No, have you?” Thor leaned forwards again, resting his elbows on the table.
Loki slid the two halves of the marble together and let it rest on the table against his mug, that same lovely voice floating into the quiet room. Thor’s eyes instantly softened and you felt Loki stiffen next to you, holding in the silent tears he’d shed earlier that he seemed to believe you hadn’t noticed. When the prophecy ended the room remained quiet for a few moments and then Thor huffed out a long breath of air.
“Well then.” He looked utterly confused. “Where did you get that?”
“Lugh himself gave it to me.” You tucked your feet up underneath you and reached forwards to take the delicate marble between your fingers. Loki opened his jacket before you could ask and you tucked it into the inside pocket, next to his heart.
“And you believe it to be about you?” Thor raised both eyebrows, you nodded. “And you think you are not Trouble?” He laughed.
“Brother, please, this is very serious.” Loki insisted.
“Yes, yes. I think I know where we should go before Tønsberg .”
“Where?”
“The Golden Palace of course.” Thor grinned.

If you had told Loki that he would be courting a human of all species one day, he would have laughed at your face. But well… that was before he met you. Oh, he’d fought it, alright… for weeks, actually. Weeks and weeks during which he had treated you horribly, not to mention those constant pranks and tricks he pulled to keep you on edge… if only to elicit those delicious emotions from you.
What could he possibly have expected other than hatred and hostility, after all? He had attempted to take over the very planet you walked on and he’d not made a secret out of wanting to subjugate your entire race. He had more respect for mortals these days but… forgiveness was not something he dared wish for after all he’d done on Midgard.
Little had he known that you were rather fond of villains though, so to speak. His very presence had made you excited and flustered despite his past actions and it baffled him that he had never once realised. Not until, after you’d lashed out at him following yet another mean trick (the illusion of a snake in the toilet of all places) and he had backed you up against the wall and watched you cower in fear and… arousal.
He saw it every time you made love now. That hungry twinkling in your eyes whenever he manhandled you, the way you bit your lower lip when he held your wrists above your head, immobilising you, keeping you at his mercy and forcing pleasure from you… Loki smirked to himself.
There was something dark and primal about your lust, something that had taken him a while to figure out and yet, by now, he read you like an open book. He might not have been king of a kingdom just yet but he certainly had become king of your little world, and that was good enough for him. You had become more important to him than anything that Asgard or Midgard could have ever offered to him, and he still believed to be dreaming whenever you whispered those fateful little words to him: I love you.
Loki took pride in treating you like a princess but in the bedroom… in the bedroom he was very well aware of just how much you enjoyed his… evil side. And, after making sure you felt safe and comfortable, he had discovered that choking, bondage and forced orgasms made you gush for him like a fountain and tonight… tonight he was going to take it one step further.
After all, Halloween was indeed the perfect time for a little scare.
-
One drink. You’d only allow yourself one drink for some liquid courage tonight. Dressed all in black, you adjusted the horns Loki had made for you for the occasion. Not only did you look like a queen, no, you looked like Loki’s queen. And combined with that green eye shadow, people would be lining up to kneel before you tonight.
With your Cosmopolitan in hand, you now scanned the crowd for your mischievous boyfriend. Loki said he’d meet you here as soon as Tony’s Halloween party started. Until then, you’d enjoy the astonished looks you got for your costume.
When you finally spotted him strutting through the lounge like the god he was, your heart skipped a beat. He’d refused to wear a costume himself but he didn’t need to. Loki’s mere presence was so intimidating and overwhelming that the party guests parted for him automatically. You bit your lower lip when he approached you, attempting to hide your cheeky grin.
You were going to ask him. Tonight. Halloween was the perfect occasion to spice things up in the bedroom, or not? And your biggest fantasy, by far, was being used by a powerful god like a toy, like a doll, like an insignificant plaything he could do with as he pleased… It’d take you a lot of courage to ask Loki about it. Not because you didn’t trust him—you did, that was the entire reason you were ready to take that step now—but because you worried he’d think you secretly took him for a monster, a heartless and brutal king when in reality, he was loving, kind and passionate… if only people bothered to get to know him better. His mischievous nature only made it all the more exciting to be with him.
“Good evening, my king,” you mused. Loki winked at you. His blue gaze took in your form, enjoying every single inch before it met yours again.
“I pray you are in a good mood today?” Perhaps engaging in a little role-play would make it easier to ask for what you desired. You took a deep breath while you waited for him to respond.
“Define ‘good mood’… I have had an exceptionally bad day dealing with ungrateful peasants and political decisions your pretty mortal head does not have the capacity to wrap around.” You chuckled. He wasn’t even lying. Loki had indeed been part of a political meeting about the future of a Midgard with superheroes today, mainly because of Thor’s request. He knew Loki was better at the whole king business.
“So no, pet…” he continued, “I am not in a good mood.”
“Oh… well… perhaps… perhaps I can help with that? I am your servant, after all. I’ll do anything you ask for.”
Little did you know you were playing right into his plans as well. Loki smirked when you clung to him, his arms sliding around your middle possessively.
“A king…” he murmured, acting along, “…does not ask. A king simply takes what he wants. Careful what you wish for, pet.”
He watched your lips part and your eyes widen but before you could utter another word—in your defence—Loki had already hoisted you up and thrown you over his shoulder as if you weighed nothing.
Only Bucky noticed your play-fighting before shaking his head, next thing you knew, Loki had already teleported you both away from the party and into the darkness of his room. The scent of fresh parchment, old books and an alluring mix of herbs enveloped you both, below you the softness of his mattress when he put you down. Your half-empty Cosmopolitan had vanished into thin air.
“Loki, we’ve only just joined the party…”
“You’ll speak when you’re spoken to, pet,” he barked, his tone allowing no contradiction whatsoever. “You asked me what I wished for. Hmm…” His lips ghosted over your collarbone, making you shiver. “You wish to serve me? Then you’ll let me claim you. I am aching for some release tonight.”
You would have clenched your thighs out of reflex if it wasn’t for Loki lying right between them, his palms stroking every single inch of naked skin they could find. Hungrily, he buried his face in your neck, inhaling your scent. And then, with a start, you felt the cool tingling of his magic around your wrists and ankles, an invisible force tying you to the bed and spreading you like an eagle.
You gasped. “L-Loki…” It wasn’t a plead exactly. But it wasn’t a question either. The God of Mischief picked up on it immediately regardless.
“You speak when you’re spoken to. If I hear one more sound from those pretty lips, I will gag you, is that understood?”
You snapped your mouth shut, nodding obediently and failing miserably to hide your excitement. Just a few minutes ago, you’d been determined to ask Loki to play out one of your darkest fantasies and now here he was, playing your body and desires like an instrument.
“Y-yes, my king,” you uttered. Loki narrowed his eyes at you—and you realised your mistake immediately. With but a flick of his wrist, he produced a ball gag with a leather strap that shut you up in an instant.
“Now I wish to have that lovely quim all for myself.” A muffled sound escaped your lips through the ball gag. You’d experimented with it once before—Loki had jinxed it—if you said your safe word, it would simply dissolve, allowing you to stop the scene. He’d thought about it all; but as of right now, stopping was the very last thing on your mind.
“Now be a good girl and keep still for me. Let your king take what he craves.” You whined a little, lost in his act. Fuck, he had a talent for making things seem real. And in the darkness of his room, with only a single candle illuminating the bed and throwing eerie shadows on the wall, the scene felt even more realistic.
Loki chuckled darkly. “What was that? You are my servant, are you not? My little slave to do with as I please? And right now, pet, I wish to fuck that tight quim of yours until I have you crying beneath me.”
With but another flick of his wrist, your dress and horns disappeared. Utterly exposed before him in the warm candlelight, you whined once more, fighting the restraints a little bit. They felt so good against your skin you could feel yourself growing wet already. A simple fact Loki did not fail to notice. He grinned, maliciously—and just for a split second, you forgot you were playing around. The God of Mischief could be truly scary… and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t love that.
He spread your legs further, admiring his prize that he had simply taken without asking…
“Hmm… I might just keep you all to myself,” he mused, making quick work of his trousers and undergarments. You whimpered in response to his promise, your thighs shaking with desire and a twinge of fear. “Lock you in my chambers, keep you tied to the bed… Make you my personal little pleasure slave…” Loki grabbed a hold of your hips to position you and, without any forewarning, plunged himself deep into you. Filling you to the brim, he stilled for a moment to enjoy the feeling of claiming you so intimately, and then, without giving you time to adjust to his thick length, he began fucking you with such ferocity you cried out.
“What do you say? Would you like that?” He added, making you wince.
Your limbs were shaking, your breath hitching due to the force of his eager thrusts, hitting spots within you that you didn’t even know existed. You were gushing around him, throwing your head back in an attempt to hide just how much your body was enjoying his crude treatment.
“You are tightening around me, pet. Are you enjoying yourself?” Loki mocked. You shook your head wildly, lost in the game you were playing. But the pleasure was undeniable. Like the eerie shadows on the wall, your orgasm crept up to you, ready to devour you whole—even more so when you felt an only too-familiar magic force pressing against your clit and stimulating it just enough to keep you on the edge for him.
The God of Mischief chuckled darkly. “No? Your pretty little quim seems to think differently, pet. You will cum around my cock, whether you want to or not,” he threatened, sending yet another bolt of arousal through you. “And you will do so as many times as I see fit.”
You couldn’t help it—you moaned, unable to hide your lust any longer. Loki’s rhythm intensified. You were certain the force of his thrusts would have knocked you straight into the headboard above you if it wasn’t for the restraints holding you in place for him.
Having him force you to cum for him only intensified the sheer pleasure taking your breath away. Higher and higher you rose, your body ready to fall, deep, deep, and even deeper… another moan escaped your lips.
“Cum. Now. Cum for me.” His dirty order made you shiver—and even if you had wanted to, you were unable to resist him. As if Loki had pressed a button, you came around him, clenching rhythmically and fuelling his own arousal. He did not stop his hungry thrusts for even a second, barely allowing you to ride the wave of pleasure as it coursed through you and made your eyes roll to the back of your head. Instead, he sped up even more, the tip of his hard manhood now grazing your cervix with every thrust.
His growl was downright animalistic. “Again,” he commanded. You whined through your gag, begging him for mercy, a break, anything… but you could already feel that familiar and delicious knot tightening in your core again, having you convulse around him yet again. With your slick coating his length, the sounds of sex as well as the alluring smell filled the entire room, numbing you from the inside out. You were a mess. An aroused and overstimulated mess… Loki’s little human plaything… You didn’t know how exactly it happened but it was when the God of Mischief thrust into you one final time, filling you up with his seed and burying himself so deep inside of you that you felt a hint of pain, that you came for a third time, milking him for all he was worth all the while he coated your walls with his warm semen. He had not promised too much—tears were rolling down your cheeks uncontrollably from the intense amount of pleasure he had forced on you.
A few more lazy strokes followed and then, the only sound still echoing through the room was your rapid breathing. Fuck. Loki knew which buttons to press to make you come undone quickly but this? Never before had you climaxed this often in a matter of minutes. Even more confusing was the fact that with Loki still sheathed inside of you, your pussy was ready to make you see stars for a fourth time.
You felt his hands roam over your body as if to check if you were alright and then, the magical restraints fell off you as if they had never even existed, quickly followed by the ball gag keeping you from talking. Loki massaged your jaw for a few seconds after wiping your tears away and then flipped you both over so you came to rest in his arms with his now softening member still inside of you.
“How did you know I wanted to… I mean…”
“Your eyes don’t lie, my love. You do enjoy the more dominant side of me, do you not?” You could feel the heat creeping up your cheeks.
“I was worried you’d think that I think you are really like this deep down, that you would ever do something like this. I know you wouldn’t. I just… like…”
“Playing around and having fun?” he finished for you. You nodded.
“Lucky for you I like that as well.” He chuckled darkly then, pulling you even closer until you came to rest directly on top of him. You could already feel him growing hard again.
“Happy Halloween, my queen.”
You smiled. “Happy Halloween, Loki.”

𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐘𝐍 𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃: Norse Mythology
In Norse mythology, Sigyn is an ásynja goddess, her parents are unknown, but it is generally believed that her ancestry is the Aesir. She is the goddess of Loyalty, Faithfulness & Compassion. Due to the fragmentary nature of the primary sources for Norse mythology, only one scrap of lore regarding Sigyn survives that gives any indication of her personality and mythological roles, the tale of Loki’s punishment for killing Baldr. In that tale, when the Gods captured Loki, they turned one of his sons, Vali, into a wolf. The wolf then ripped apart his brother Narfi. The boy’s entrails hardened into an iron chain, and the Gods used this grotesque fetter to bind Loki in a cave deep beneath the earth. The Gods also placed a snake above Loki that would drip venom onto his head. Like a model of a traditional and dutiful wife, Sigyn sat by Loki’s side with a bowl to catch the drops of snake venom so that they wouldn’t touch her husband’s head. Every so often, however, she would have to leave the cave to pour out the bowl. In her absence, a few drops of poisonous venom would fall onto Loki’s forehead. This caused him to writhe in agony, which in turn caused earthquakes on the surface of Midgard, the world of humans. Sigyn’s story is also one of victory; victory over wrenching circumstances, pain, loss, despair, and anguish. She chooses to endure, and by doing so, she triumphs. As Fuensanta Arismendi, an ardent Sigyn’s woman once said, “Sigyn’s strength is in her heart. Her heart is invincible.”

anyways was thinking of a thor ragnarok rewrite last night as sleep refused to take me. obviously it can't be exactly like actual ragnarok bc marvel/mcu's norse stuff is..nothing like actual norse lore but i figured it could still have some more similarities than what the actual movie did.
(also if i were to rewrite the movie this isn't actually what id do, this was just. idk. what i was thinkin about as i was desperate to actually falll asleep).
anyways i figured this rewrite would actually work best if it rewrote the end of tdw first- loki gets stabbed by kruse and passes out for a while (rather than being able to pick himself back up in secret like what actually happened) and in that time odin senses that loki isn't dead and sends some guards to collect him. since loki technically broke the law *again* (committed treason, escaped jail, etc), he can enforce even more punishment, especially now that frigga is dead and she can't do anything about it. That, combined with some prophecy from midgard (or maybe asgard, idk) as an excuse added justifying reason, he sentences loki to the worst thing he can think up: to be bound against a rock with a snake dripping venom on him, his lips sewn shut so he can never lie again, forced to be in his jotun form, for all of eternity. In the deepest dungeon.
Thor obviously doesn't know about any of this, because he thinks loki dead.
so loki is taken, bound to a rock (idk if it's really work to have him bound with organs tho, since he doesn't have children in the mcu. maybe it's his..pet's? or maybe just chain. idk.), a snake coiled above him, seiðr bound, lips sewn shut, and his æsir form taken. He is completely alone, save the guards outside the chamber.
i don't really ship logyn in the mcu, (bc she doesn't exist in the mcu and their relationship feels to me like it would span for several centuries prior, so just randomly introducing her in one movie would seem strange to me), but i follow some people who do, so i wondered how i could incorporate that anyways, and make it not seem too strange.
Sigyn is one of the guards who has a shift guarding loki's chambers. She feels awful about it though, and eventually decides she has to do something to help. She ventures into the chamber and decides to catch the dripping venom with her helmet.
She also tries to cut the stitches from lokis lips, but when one string is cut, it doubles and repierces the skin, now twice the strength. She tries again, cutting them all at once this time (rather than individually), and grabs them all at once and pulls them out before they can multiply and repair themselves (luckily this time it works). She almost regrets it, though, as now she has to hear loki scream himself hoarse, and she can't do anything else to ease the pain.
she stays for several weeks/months/idk, holding the helmet above loki, having to empty it every so often. Perhaps she gets to know loki in this time, perhaps she doesn't. Perhaps she notices a certain brand on his shoulder, perhaps she does not. Perhaps she knew loki vaguely before, and now muses to herself what could have possibly changed him. Perhaps she didn't know him before, and doesn't muse. I don't know. But eventually she decides she needs to find and tell thor.
as hard as it is, she leaves loki to suffer alone (she tries to see if she can leave the helmet or fashion some contraption to make sure the poison cannot get in his eyes, but she cannot). After some searching and asking, she finds the mourning sullen prince thor and tells him what has occurred. Thor, now filled with joy, rage, guilt, horror, and sadness, breaks loki out with sigyn.
Loki is a mess. He has gone blind- whether temporarily or permanently is unknown- and has visible burns from the acid venom. His hairs a mess and his skin sweaty and thin. You can see his rib cage with how thin he's become. He wasn't allowed much clothes at the start of his punishment, but what few he had have been burned by the venom as well. He can't walk. He's barely conscious, and what little bit he is is just filled with delirium. They basically have to carry him.
They hide away from asgard (or at least the palace). And then ragnarok gets unleashed and they have to fix it etc and in the end they realize that it wasn't literally loki's being freed that incited ragnarok, but it was necessary for him to be freed so they could help stop/fix it/lessen the damage etc idk i was pretty tired at this point i wasn't thinking of details. anyways
idk if that made any sense lol but i'll tag the logyn people i follow/was thinking of

Birthday
Summary: Loki didn't have a birthday present for you. Or did he?
Word count: 2.497 words
Warnings: Loki is a little bit of a dick at first, sex (18+), a little biting and hair pulling
Birthday The team was all gathered in the living room. You had poured coffee and put out cake. They had brought you some presents, new gadgets you wanted for your electronic devices, new craft supplies, or some jewellery. When everyone had gifted you their present, all eyes turned to Loki.
‘You don’t have anything?’ Steve asked.
‘No, should I have?’ Loki replied.
‘Well, it is tradition to give someone a gift on their birthday’
‘After the first 50, you kind of done with birthdays’ Loki said.
‘It is a tradition here on Midgard, I did tell you about it last month’ Thor chimed in.
‘Just let it go guys, I didn’t expect anything from him anyway’ you replied. Wanted to be done with this conversation.
‘Why wouldn’t you expect anything from me?’ Loki asked offended.
‘Pff, why would I? You are here for almost a year, do everything not to be a part of this team, so no. Like you could come up with anything I would want’
Loki shot up from the couch. He straightened his jacket, he stared blankly at you. ‘Fine, I’ll get you a gift. But be careful what you wish for’ he said way too calm for your liking. He walked away without saying anything.
The whole team now turned their eyes towards you. ‘What did you do?’ ‘You know what happens when you piss him off’ they started.
‘Yeah, yeah, after my clothes disappearing, the green hair, the cats to trigger an allergic reaction to the salt and sugar being switched.. I know. But he is so arrogant and self-centred all the time, I couldn’t help it. It just slipped out’
‘Relax, it’s not like he would actually do anything on your birthday’ Thor said.
Everyone looked at Thor. He just looked silently around the room. ‘I’m like 99% sure’ he said.
‘Didn’t you tell me he once gifted you a snake that bit you, which turned out to be himself later?’ Tony replied.
‘80% then’ Thor said.
‘And what about your birthday where he got you to get yourself lost in a maze?’ Nat asked.
‘55% then, still more than half’
‘Didn’t he once replace all the cakes at your birthday with vegetable that looked like cake?’ Steve asked.
‘I-, if I were you (Y/N), I might stay in my room tonight and avoid him’ Thor finally said.
You just shrugged it off. You would see what Loki would do when it happened. It was annoying, but the stuff he pulled was harmless. The rest of the afternoon you spend with the team.
Everyone had dinner together, but Loki never appeared. Thor when in search for him, but he couldn’t fine him anywhere. You were becoming a little nervous but tried not to let it show.
The rest of the evening, your nerves grew higher and higher. The fact that Loki was nowhere to be seen, didn’t meant anything good for you. When it was time to go to bed, you tried to reassure yourself. If he still hadn’t pulled anything today, maybe Thor was right .Maybe he would understand that he shouldn’t mess with you on your birthday. But if felt like you were lying to yourself.
You sneaked into the hallway, but there was no sign of him. You let out a breath you didn’t know that you were holding. And tiptoed through the hallway, around the corner, to your own room. You opened the door and closed it behind you.
Safe.
Or so you thought.
The second you had closed the door behind you. It was gone. ‘Shit’ you said.
‘Didn’t the Captain teach you to not to swear?’ you heard his menacing voice in your ear. You looked back, but there was just a wall. You stepped into the middle of your room, looking for a door or other way out. But the room around you started to spin. You felt yourself move, but you couldn’t tell you if you were. You were starting to lose your balance and stumbled backwords. Two hand grabbed your hips from behind, your back hit something hard.
‘Answer the question’ you felt two lips brush your earlobe.
Startled, you jumped away from the hands and turned around. Loki was standing with an amused smile on his face. He took a step towards you, making you take a step back.
‘What’s wrong, darling?’ he innocently asked.
‘It’s my birthday! You can’t do something to me on my birthday!’ you frantically answered. Normally his pranks were on a distance, that fact that he was up close didn’t mean anything good.
Loki just looked at the clock behind him. ‘It five minutes past your birthday, according to my clock’ he grinned.
You took another step back, not trusting what he had planned. Your legs hit something, you looked back to see an enormous bed behind you. Judging by the green colour, you knew it was his. You looked around and realized that you were in his room. It was obvious, though you had never been there. There was a desk with some scattered papers, a bookcase next to it, a sofa and a comfy seat placed next to a small coffee table, and there was a giant tv on the wall.
‘I’ve never been in your room’ you said.
‘Stating obvious facts, I see’ Loki replied.
‘Has anyone ever been in your room?’ you asked.
‘Do you like it?’ he asked.
You turned to face him, trying not to show you were a little startled that he had moved closer towards you, without you noticing.
‘Since when do you care what I think?’ you asked suspiciously.
‘Well, since you are going to be spending a lot of time here. I thought I would be nice’ he answered. ‘And no, nobody’s been here. Except for Thor’
‘Keeping me hostage in your room…. I think they will be able to find my location quite quickly’
One of his eyebrows quirked up. ‘I’m not keeping you hostage. If you want to leave, leave’  he stepped sideways and gestured to the door. You eyed the door and then Loki. You weren’t quite sure what he tried to pull. But curiosity got the better of you.
‘Why bring me here, and why not invite me like a normal person?’
‘Like you said, I owe you a present. I got you a present, and it is far more fun to teleport you here than to ask you’ he smirked.
‘No snake or vegetable cake I hope?’
He chuckled ‘No, you are going to enjoy this one. You can trust me on that’ he took another step closer towards you. This might have been the closest you have ever been. You could smell his forest cologne, for two seconds you closed your eyes and breathed it in. You looked him straight into his eyes, trying to hide your nerves and the effect his scent had on you.
‘All right, what did you get me?’ you asked.
‘Sit down’ he said.
‘Loki’ you warningly said.
‘Sit down’ he repeated himself. For a moment you contemplating on leaving, but let’s be honest, you didn’t want to leave.
You slowly sat down on his bed behind you. Not letting him out of your sight. He just looked smugly down at you and stepped closer to be right in front of you. You tried to ignore the bulge that was kind of in your face and leaned back a little bit on your arms.
‘What did you meant by what you said? That I’m going to spend a lot of time here, if I can leave any time I want?’ you asked, realizing he never explained himself.
‘Close your eyes’ he said.
You stared defiantly at him, but after a few seconds did as he asked. You felt his presence getting closer, the bed dipped a little lower, his curls trickled the side of your face and you felt two soft lips touch yours. Without a thought you moved your lips with his. He pulled back way to quickly, you opened your eyes.
´I thought I will finally give you what you truly desire’ he said.
‘And what is it that I truly desire?’ you asked intrigued.
‘Didn’t you think I knew? O darling’ he chuckled. ‘I have known for a while now. I see how you try not to stare while I train, when I just returned from the shower, or how your eyes almost pop out in the summer while I’m wearing nothing but trunks. And I have to say it’s just pathetic that you haven’t made your move once
‘Y- You knew?’ you thought you were being smooth, but apparently it was quite obvious to him.
‘Did you thought you were being smooth?’ he patronizingly asked.
You were overthinking every event where he might have seen you staring at him. And you realized that you might not have been so smooth as you thought.
‘So, for your birthday. I give you me’ he looked smugly down at you. ‘I know it is the best present you have ever been given, but if you don’t want it, you can leave, and I’ll get you a necklace or something like that tomorrow’
You didn’t make a move, because now that he had kissed you, you needed, no you craved more.
‘Can I continue with your gift, now?’ he asked.
‘Yes’ you agreed.
‘Good’  his lips were back on yours again. He slipped his tongue in your mouth between his open mouth kisses. You were already panting and gasping for air, and realized he had only just begun.
His lips trailed towards your neck and without any warning you felt his teeth sink into your flesh. You hissed from the sudden pain, but the way he licked your skin afterwards made all the pain disappear. He had a way of balancing the line between pain and pleasure. It took him only a few seconds to find you weak spot, and you began to think that his nickname silver tongue, didn’t come from his way with words.
He sat upright, his legs on either side of your hips. A knife was conjured out of thin air. ‘If I were you, I would lay very still’
The tip of the blad was placed at your throat. He slowly but carefully dragged the tip of the knife across your throat to your chest. You were focussing hard on keeping your breathing even, so the knife wouldn’t cut your skin. The knife slid right through the top of you t-shirt and the middle piece of your bra was next to go. In one smooth motion he sliced through you entire t-shirt, making your breasts pop out of their containment.
Like an animal in heat his lips found your left nipple and he started to suck hard. His teeth grazed your sensitive skin. You arched your back, trying to escape the sudden pleasure, but it was no use. His hand snaked behind your back and he kept you in this position until he was satisfied by how hard you were panting and moaning.
His trailed his kissing upwards, until his lips reached your earlobe. ‘Now, normally I would tie you to the bed and make you beg until you have no more voice to even whisper your desperate prayers to me’
‘But since it’s your birthday and this is your gift, I’m going easy on you’
With a snap of his finger none of you were wearing any clothes anymore. Startled by your sudden vulnerability, you tried to cover yourself up with your hands. Loki grabbed your wrists and put them beside your head.
‘Don’t ever do that for me again’ he tried to warningly reassure you.
He kissed you softly this time and looked you in your eyes ‘I have been craving you since the moment I met you. Now that I have you, you’re mine and to me you are perfection, darling’
You felt one of his hands at your hip, sliding towards your thigh.
‘Tell me I can continue’ he whispered in your ear.
‘Loki, please, you’re killing me here’  you pleaded, hoping he would give you what you have craved all these months.
His hand moved towards your centre. He slowly trailed downwards and put a finger between your fold. Going upwards he found your clit and you whined out loud. Finally, you would get to know for real what his fingers could do to you.
He slowly started to circle you clit, while he kept his gaze on you. He registered every expression and every movement you mad. Calculating what to do to give you the most pleasure. A sum he had solved in merely a few minutes.
‘Sing for me, darling’ he hummed in your ear, while you could feel the high pressure let go in your release.
He kissed you, while you were still coming down from your high and felt his fingers slowing down their pace. With his hand he grabbed your hair and pulled it hardly, making you hiss. The tip of his cock made it way through your folds. He guided himself inside of you with his other hand, and slowly went as far as you could let him.
Full, was a word that got a whole new definition for you.
‘Are you okay?’ he asked.
‘Oh God, you feel amazing’ you ignore the smirk that showed on his face.
‘That’s right, pray to your God’ he moaned while he started to pump up and down inside of you.
He began slow but quickly picked up the pace. You met his pace with your hips, making his cock drag just against the right spot. He kept going, and you lost all track of time. Finally when he increased his pace, he triggered your orgasm hat milked him for all he got.
Completely spent, you were catching your breath. Loki did the same. When both of you were breathing normally, he slowly made his way out of you. With a snap the mess was gone and you smelled the fresh bedlinens on the bed you lay.
Loki laid down next to you, putting a hand around your waist. While he hummed in approval. You turned around in his arms, so your face was towards his chest. ‘You can’t say this wasn’t the best present you have gotten today’ he said teasingly.
‘You really are full of yourself aren’t you?’
‘I thought it was you who is going to be full of me’ he smirked.
‘Well, at least this was a good surprise, instead of all the bad ones you did’ you answered.
‘Really?’ he asked.
´Well, yeah. I finally get to lay in your arms’ you snuggled closer against his chest.
He just laughed a little. ‘While that is more than true. You do realize I’m your problem now? Don’t you?’
‘O god’ you murmured.
‘Happy birthday, darling. Just know that there here is only one God that can help you now’ he whispered in your ear.
