Things that I love about Exquisite Exandria:
Regions are culturally coherent and comparable to our own traditions! Tal'dorei has pies easily recognizable as originating in the Americas, while Issylra's dishes are clearly Scandanavian (smørrebrød! Salmon with mustard!). Rosohna boasts a gorgeous fusion between Russian and East Asian cuisine (Frost worm [Venison] stew with yucca, chinese cooking wine, Japanese curry, and cold weather apples!). Jrusar is Mediterranean, but in a Greek, Italian, and diaspora Jewish way (Lamb! Mortadella! Brisket!), while Ank'harel is Mediterranean but in a Palestinian, Iranian, Turkish way (Couscous! Porridge with figs, pistachios and orange blossom water!). The attention to detail regarding geographical proximity and cultural interplay is absolutely gorgeous.
The Lore!! This thing reads like a travelogue, a warm, loving anthropological study, and a cheeky nod to our heroes and their friends from all three campaigns. Victor admits he's been eating gunpowder. We get to learn what exactly is under the gravy in Pretty's famous Meal. Frumpkin teaches our friendly authors to make fish tacos. We get Pike's purple jewel cake recipe, a GoFiBePo charcuterie board (all five hours of prep included!), and, yes, an approximate recipe for Fusaka. Don't put it in any non mouth orifices!
This whole project is equally hilarious, touching, and staggeringly competent in its consistency. The lore and the recipes are equally detailed and enticing. I know Exandria better than I did before I read this thing, and there isn't a single recipe in it that I'm not deeply curious about trying to replicate. I can't recommend it enough if you're a Crit Role fan.

Hello nutrition focused friends.
I wanted to take time to post an update since I've been absent from this platform for far too long. I let life discourage me from what I love but I want to spend the next few weeks getting back into the nutritional swing of things; especially as holiday time approaches.
I'd love your feedback, but I think I'm going to continue diving into plant based holiday themed meals as well as grab and go foods. It has been my ultimate frustration in life trying to grab a quick bite from a grocery store (or anywhere really) only to find a sad peanut butter and jelly sandwich or an overpriced veggie sandwich as my options if I'm lucky. Seriously friends, have you seen the veggie sandwich offered at Whole Foods? It's $6.99 for a few thin slices of cucumber, tomato, lettuce and some sort of spread of on floppy wheat bread. Don't even get me started on their big salads. $16.99 for a big bowl of lettuce with a few sad toppings. In a world full of revolutionary plant based products, I feel like the grab and go crowd should have a few more options. Even Costco brings the disappointment as their grab and go prepped foods are almost entirely meat and dairy based. Sure, Costco had a quinoa salad for a while, but that's not a very exciting entree for a plant based person now is it? I will say, They do have a Mediterranean salad that's pretty decent though in size and price. Though I wish stores would figure out we can't live on salad alone. I would really love to see more ready to eat meals that aren't just over priced frozen entrees. Many of us spend all day running from responsibility to responsibility, it'd be nice to have some satisfying, nutritionally dense, options.
What frustrates you when trying to find grab and go foods for your busy plant based life? Are you dreading the holidays because your dietary choices aren't always respected or accommodated? Or maybe you just need some inspiration on what to make this year. Let's explore our options this season.

It was a lovely Sunday indeed. I picked my booty up, got cute, and went to dance class after 2 weeks off. Lots of afro latin music and moves. I freaking love getting lost in the rhythm, even when I dont have 100% of the choreo down.
I did a lil food shopping, and came home to cook. I put on my fave Jamaican radio station and got to work. Meal prep this week consists of a Mediterranean fare. I made turkish lentil soup, chicken thighs, quinoa, rice and a persian salad. Whining my waist to soca furiously and stirring my soup was medicinal for my soul omgggg. I put a lot of energy into my meal for the week so I’m excited to reap the rewards.

The overarching trend from my goals last year was that I suck at consistency. These first two months are going to be mainly about gaining consistency in my habits, while allowing for flexibility and grace.

Listen to my body, check in and observe what I need

Hello! Hope your doing well :>. I've never requested before so bare with me please. Can I get a pairing for task force 141? I dress Gothic, I have brown hair and green eyes. I'm closed off and quiet at first, but as you get to know me I open up some and am very talkative. I go to the gym often and do softball, and slight close combat training. I am 19 and very competitive, I want to work at a green house, or be a Coroner! My dream is to move into the middle of no where, and be self sustainable once I have enough money to startup. Im a "black cat" type in public and have no partner-type preferences, I have ADHD and anxiety but I take medicine for the anxiety. I like a partner larger in size (i'm 5'3 feet tall). Take your time on this and don't rush! Drink water and eat a meal.
-Lots of love Mxngo!
Simon "Ghost" Riley
How you met: Civilian You spent the rainy afternoon tending to your greenhouse. It was tucked in a beautiful garden in the UK and you loved the elderly grandmothers who would come in and compliment your variety of plants and flowers. You had just finished watering your herbs when you saw a man sitting on a bench underneath a flowering cherry blossom tree. "Enjoying a moment from the rain?" you asked as you placed your hose down. He simply nodded in agreement as he looked out to see the rain hit the glass ceilings. You smiled at him and continued your routine as you went around and watered the hanging mums and ivy plants and checked the soil on some of your new sprouts. Eventually, when you finally made you way around the entire greenhouse, you could see the man getting up to leave. While standing, you could see he was a full foot taller than you and he didn't look like the type to be casually daydreaming underneath pink petals. The storm had stopped outside and you guessed he was probably on his way home. "Thanks for stopping in!" you called out and he turned to you. His eyes were kind as he gave you a small wave. "Keep up the good work," he complimented and left through the sliding door. Little did you know Simon would soon return every day he was on leave to enjoy the fragrant and earthy environment you had provided him with.
A peek into your relationship: "What are we going to do with all this?" your husband, Simon, asked as he helped to bring in your harvest from your small vegetable and herb garden. You had moved into a small house tucked into the fertile countryside and had transformed it into a self-sustaining farm. "I'm thinking of a mediterranean herb-roasted vegetable medley with chickpeas and couscous and some chamomile blossom martinis for lunch?" you said as you opened up your kitchen door. He nodded as he placed the heavy basket of vegetables on the table. "If you'd like, you can wash and prep some vegetables for me and I'll make drinks?" you offered and placed a kiss on his cheek for some convincing. Simon had grown accustom to this routine and you always joked that he was your sous chef. He trimmed and cut the green beans as you rummaged through the cabinets to find some dried chamomile flowers for your cocktails. As you hummed and placed all the ingredients in the shaker, you saw that Simon had finished processing all the vegetables. "Looks like someone is handy with a knife," you joked and a rare smile appeared on his face. "Wouldn't want to go against you," you continued and you presented him with your concoction of chamomile flowers and gin. He sipped the drink slowly and savored the floral taste. Just as you were sharing your romantic moment across the kitchen island, your small farm of chickens began to cluck and you both shared a small chuckle. "Break time is over," he said and you hugged him before giving him instructions for the next part of the recipe.

WHO: @ameliaxalvarez WHERE: a bookstore in greenhaven WHEN: 4:12pm
What was he even doing anymore?
The bites and claw marks had started to heal, but they still burned and his muscle still ached from the fight with the hellhound. He was so confident that he would win; he was smaller, but faster than most full-sized werewolves and that gave some advantage against the freakish doberman that looked like it’d crawled out of a meat grinder. Even if the abomination was fast, he was skilled at maneuvering around creatures that were stronger and faster than him, going for weak spots where he found an opening. It felt good to fight again after having gone months without it, not having anyone to direct him to a target to focus his aggression and excessive energy on. Coming across one of the very few targets that had narrowly escaped him and Charles felt like a blessing, a reprieve from his reality, as he easily slipped back into his tunnel vision, wanting to finish what had been started, and give himself a victory, a tribute to make Charles proud even in the afterlife. He was starved of praise, itching for any kind of mental satisfaction of a job well done, but his eagerness also made him desperate, and one little slip up caused him to lose the fight for the dumbest reason. His fangs in the hellhound’s neck, his paw and claws pinning him to the ground - he waited instinctively to hear the deep voice of Charles over his shoulder to deliver the command to finish him.
When that didn’t come, the tide shifted. Lucas found his opportunity as the young werewolf felt the sting of loneliness make him falter.
He was lucky that they were both wounded, running off after the counter to escape to find a safe place to lick their wounds. Douglas retreated to his empty home, and found himself reminded even more that Charles was gone as there was no one rushing to tend to his wounds. He ignored the handful of texts from Amelia and Kalani at first. Ashamed to lose the fight to Amelia, not wanting Kalani to see the bite marks and wounds he’d taken. After a day, he sent them a simple ‘I’m busy, won’t be around for a few days,’ text and then set his phone on silent.
After most of his wounds had healed except for a few of the deepest bites on his upper shoulders, and ribcage, he still didn’t reach out, wanting time alone to process - even if there wasn’t much to process. Failing to finish off the hellhound, failing to keep Charles alive - the responsibilities that had been set on his shoulders buried him, and all he could do was hide it behind a thin-lipped smile and say ‘I’m fine’.
After a week of ignoring his phone like it didn’t even exist, Douglas finally left the house, tired of eating the prepped meals that were delivered there like clockwork, like the moment Charles had died, someone had gotten the memo to keep his prized pup’s bowl full. But he ventured out, grabbing a bite to eat at a Mediterranean place in sycamore hills before stopping outside of a bookstore on his way back to browse a bookstand set outside of the shop. He’d become aware that there was a lot of books and subjects that he’d never had access to, always having books curated and handed to him growing up.
He was a few pages deep into a book when he noticed someone walking up at the corner of his eye. The hair on the back of his neck bristling at their pace when he turned his head, settling down when he recognized the Amelia walking up to him. HIs lips tightened, jaw clenching a little bit. “Hey-” he said simply, casually and a little quietly, not wanting to bring up the fact that he hadn’t messaged her since his last text days ago but he knew that would be the topic of immediate interested. “Sorry I was MIA - I got into a fight. I didn’t really want to be around anyone after.”
