attempting to scare briar valley's halloween ambassdor

a/n i did my best :’3 hdhsv tbh i feel like his character is more complicated than cater’s fusgsgs legit had to look over his stories and sht to see if i did him justice (in which i didn’t) also slight spoilers for lilia's halloween card! along with some changes to the dialogue!

lilia vanrouge; prompt 17: “i know you’re trying to be scary but you’re just way too cute”

you were hiding behind a pillar waiting for lilia to approach. while lilia was “oblivious” to you, you jumped up in front of him or where he would’ve been, only for him to pop up in front of you upside down.

“trick or treat!”

you yelped in surprise, not expecting him to turn the tables on you.

lilia chuckled seeing your reaction.

“how cute, you really thought you could scare me.”

you look up at him: pouting, “and i was so close too!”

he chuckles again, “i know, i know but be that it as it may, you’re just way too cute to be scary.”

“i’m not!”

“you truly are, though, attempting to scare me like that. I am known as briar valley’s halloween ambassador after all”

it was then you remembered how sebek and silver mentioned how terrifying lilia really could be if he tried. you wondered if that were true or not, however, considering how cute lilia is and how he strives to be adorable, you doubt he can really be that scary.

Nothing stays forever.

Kingdoms rise and fall. Fabric frays, disintegrating into mere threads. Flowers wither, bowing their heads to the steady march of time.

Humans are no exception. Their skin sags, wrinkles etching deep into their faces, marks of age. Slowly, they become more frail, back curving in. Trying to return to the days of youth, a child curled up in the womb of their mother.

You’ll never realise it.

Time’s horrible that way.

It’ll slowly set in, sinking its claws deep into your shoulders. Inch by inch, gnawing away at your strength, your wit, your energy.

You’ve seen too many people succumb to the silent march of time. It hurts, after awhile. Knowing you’ll outlive every single one of your friends, walking this world long after they’re gone.

Their memory will live on in you.

Only in you.

A dull clunk. A ceramic cup, curls of smoke wafting upwards. Raising your head, you stare at it quizzically. A hand reaches for the cup, nudging it closer to you.

You look up, only to meet scarlet red pupils, shadowed with green. A sharp contrast, but he pulls it off. Lilia Vanrouge, a… classmate.

“Drink. You’re no good to anyone mopping like this.”

Fingers curling around the handle, you take a sip. The silky sweet tang of chocolate slips down your throat, warming the depths of gut. Taking a few sips, you set it back down, mush-mellows bobbing around playfully.

Slipping your finger into the cup, you jab at them. The white pillows sink under, bogged down by the Chocolate. A grim smile slides across your lips, a dark satisfaction.

The screech of a chair being yanked back. Lilia plops onto the seat next to you. Plunging his fingers into your cup, he fished out a mush-mellow, plopping it into his mouth.

“Tasty.”

Jabbing at his checks playfully , the corners of your lip twitch up, before falling once more. Your voice comes out as a whisper, cracking slightly. A dry sob, as you rapidly dab at your eyes.

A desperate attempt to keep the tears at bay.

“How are you… ok?”

A humourless laugh, before Lilia leans back into his chair, throwing a sleeve over his face. Hiding from the world, even if it’s just for a split second.

“That’s funny. I’m not.”

“You seem to be.”

A shrug, shoulders moving in one fluid motion.

“That’s all we can be.”

He fishes out another mush-mellow, squeezing it within his fingers.

“I’ve seen many a life burn out in my time. It never gets any easier.”

A hand pressed against your shoulder blades. Rubbing comforting circles into your skin, his warmth flowing into you. Your shoulders relax, just a smidge.

“Every life is unique. A bright spark, doomed to burn out, spluttering.”

Lilia’s arm shakes around your shoulders, tugging you closer to him. With a flourish, his uniform coat was tugged around you, shielding you from curious eyes. He holds you carefully, a gentle embrace.

“It’s only proper to mourn.

Cry your eyes out. I’ve got you, darling.”

And I posted this some months ago...and I'm theorising that Lilia might die, because of his age...and those words and also Silver words about his father not being so well anymore, make me think about it more and more...

SILVER MINI CHARACTER ANALYSIS below

An important note on Silver character:

In the fandom , obviously for meme, Silver is always portrayed as an himbo... I can't think of anything more wrong. Silver probably in whole twisted wonderland (with Ace) is the most emotionally intelligent , witted and belligerent person. We superficially see him as an himbo because he has not malevolence, he literally lived in the middle of nowhere with a fae trying to understand how to grow up a human... thus justifying Silever mindset to not take as evil malevolence. Faes are in myths and common knowledge creatures who, for fun, make a lot of mischievous acts, not to damage people or hurting but because of their very nature as beings whose live for centuries and have different perception of things, (Disney also portrayed it with Tinkerbell), so as result of living among faes is totally understandable why Silver has this kind of mindset where he doesn't see/ perceive malevolence as something threatening or enouth serious to give to it importance. Yet emotionally Silver, as told before, is really emotively intelligent (and we can understand that from all his vignettas, and cards and events; remarkable is the Halloween event of last year scary monster, if you don't remenber it please read it again expecially his interaction with Jamil);

Silver is really perceptive of others, here we see how through Lilia he understand Trein sensei circumstances, no one except him noticed and gave importance about this, so the "short-comings" we all in the fam give to Silver are misgiven, Silver's short comings are due his narcolepsy and through the fact that he lived more among other species than humans, so he only lacks experience, not intelligence, he's not an himbo.

In conclusion I want to make you notice how mature he is respect Malleus; Silver always noticed and told us plenty times that Lilia was aging and he tell it being aware and ready for what it will happen... following the natural flow of life, Silver is ready for it to happen, Malleus no, if Lilia pass away for Malleus it will be a traumatic strike, he is immature and for him, for faes being essentially immortal and infallible is a given, death is something that for him is way distant and evanescent...

Thus where my observations. Before part seven. I'll rewatch all about Silver's cards, events ect. And I'll make an exclusive character analysis about him. Because it's DEFINITELY not true that we have only few clues about his character.

I personally think that he is one of the most underrated, by superficiality, character in twst, when instead is a character fully studied and soo well written that deserve to have a lot more.

He is definetly one of my favourite characters, at the start I underrated him really badly, because to me he was the less outstanding character among the cast, yet he really managed step by step to grow on me, he is an amazing written character, my upmost respect to everyone who worked on his characterization🙇🏻‍♀️

Lilia Vanrouge Rambling

Scaring others and masking his true self Book 7 Spoilers!

I just got enlightened after messing with Lilia's Character AI and OH MY GOD, just some rambling, don't mind much

What if Lilia scares people only to get a reaction out of them? Like, only for the reaction, and not for the entertainment, but he does find amusement in that too. (He tells everyone that he did it purely for fun, so they won't see him as some creep)

He observes and collects every one of the reactions, and then tries them on himself to 'fit in' with the current times. To fit in with the kids these days, to understand them better (Silver, Sebek, Malleus).

People who are scared and taken off guard show their true self, acting on their natural habits, so can Lilia possibly study others moments 'off guard' to hide his own habits?

I like to think that Lilia started scaring people when he went to NRC, as in the cottage he lived in he didn't had many people to scare, and could act freely, not necessarily correcting his habits.

Also considering his past and his position, he also wouldn't have to worry about fitting in, as the others would try to change themselves according to his liking.

Correcting and changing habits, something like a coping mechanism, just like his cute self, being his response to the traumatic experiences from his past.

It's like he conceals his true self, his true thoughts and habits just to not scare the others and make himself seem more likeable and approachable. As he knows his boys aren't the most social ones, he does go out of his comfort zone for their sake, to not be too closed off of the happenings in school.

Making connections for them to communicate through and many more, Lilia does a huge work behind the shadows. Since he works from the shadows in a school full of humans, he does walk on eggshells sometimes, even if only intuitively, feeling like a spy.

And since he's feeling like a spy, he does change himself according to the mission, to ensure its winning end. And that's why, the reaction and habits of his surroundings are so important to him.

It was supposed to be way shorter with not much angst, but idk how it turned out. I feel like I heavily drifted from the main topic but it is what it is

It's almost 3 AM when I write and publish it and WHY CAN'T I HAVE A NORMAL NIGHT SLEEP? I just had to overthink it. I hope it's not too angsty and dramatic, my brain does not function now💤

Lilia Is Speaking From Experience, huh?

So, in Lilia's science lab unform card vignette thingy, he teaches Epel how to fight as a small person. (Meaning short)

And while I've not gotten to Book 7 or actually read anything talking about Lilia's past besides Tumblr posts, I do know that he's probably speaking from experience.

Given that he, too, is a tiny man.

he doesn't want to accept it, but this is the life as it is.

You two met yourselves on NRC and soon you start to date. You two already have talked about it before, although always denying the reality.

The point is: Azul lives on seabed - being a kind of mermaid - and you can't stay underwater for a long without ending up drowning, being just a little human.

Which was something that probably would disturb your couple life in the future. Azul thought about doing a deal with you to transform you into a mermaid too. Then you would can live with him with no problems about breathe underwater. Since so you would can live with him. But at the same time he doesn't know if his magic was enough, and he didn't want to risk it either.

You don't talk about it a lot, already because of it too. But you two can't ignore the future happening under yours noses.

Soon you will end college and... and after this? What is going to happen..?

Your relationship as partners are almost perfect. You both could understand each other, at least some discussions a bit agressively, but with a 'happy' endind.

Soon you arrive to the last year of NRC. The things was becoming more difficult to reconcile between your relationship and the studies you have to do every day.

But anyway, you two always find some time to pass with each other. Going since to study together to small dates you both make late at night on Mostro Lounge.

Thanking to Jade and Floyd whos always helped you two to find time for you two. Floyd was more relax and Jade more organized. And they were very friends to you and shipps you with Azul.. fufufu.. helping beautifully to get you two together.

In your graduation, you and Azul go to a hang out to celebrate your success. Staying awake the whole night.

Taking small talks and reflexives things about some things more deep about yourselves. And in one of this talks holding hands already seeing the sunrise fillind the sky while the stars were going to sleep with the moon again. You return to the topic of how it's going now.

How you two will be together now...? Well, you don't know. This was the most purest truth.

Azul still wanted to take you with him, but he was more mature now. So he known that he would hear about your feeling until taking decisions like this. He wants to hear about you firstly. Will you likely to made this or you will choose to leave him and stay with your family...? Their still the most important people to you, he understand it, like, he also was being egoist about it wanting to take you with him for the same reason.

And, well...

You didn't choose him.

He tries to be strong about this, accepting your decision as he loves you above all. Knowing that if he loves, he must let go.

He hugs you closiest, kissing you deeply and desperately for the last time. As he supported you and helped you to take your things to leave to back to your family he still sad about it. He doesn't wanted to let you go out like that.

Lilia knew from the beginning that this would happen at some moment, but he didn't thought it would hurt so much...

You and Lilia met each other on Night Raven College in the 3rd year when you was transferred to the same class he was in. Becoming his classmate.

You two ended forming a wonderful duo and each day you both passed together you were going closer and more closer to each other. Until the moment that you realize your relation was turning in something that was more than just friends. You and Lilia became only one.

You wasn't a Diasomnia student, initially, but you ended tranferring yourself to there to be more near him. What also approached you to his family. Silver and Malleus also became very close to you, and I dare say they could see you as a parental figure too.

You started to date just after you two perceive that you weren't just friends. And it already was clearly to everyone else.

And soon you two finished college and you decided to go with Lilia to Briar's Valley. And then was all going pretty well. Your life was calm but prettiest funy too.

Everything was like a fairytale. But... nothing good lasts forever.

When you both least expected it, a war was started between Draconia's kingdom, where you two lived and with an enemy kingdom.

Lilia despite not being a war soldier more, he decided to go to the war to remembering the last times. Assuring that he would back alive and health to you and if anything would happen, he'll doesn't hesitate in asking to absence himself to the battlefield and come back to home yet. And until then, everything was going alright, Lilia still remembered how was the things and how to be the beast he was on the war formerly.

But we can't say that it's everything going so well to you too.

Being Lilia's partner, a great name on Briar's Valley, you was a target very searched for as a form to weaken the army. And because of it you ended being found by a enemy fleet who roamed in the forest.

The war was already happening on low intensity now. "It's near to the end." everyone thought.

Lilia was already leaving the battlefield, left totally the work to the younger ones. Coming back calmly to yours house, going to stay with you again without needing to worry yourselves with anything more.

Oh, well well...

...This wasn't what was coming for you, too,

You heard from Malleus that your boyfriend was coming back to home, being very excited to see him again. Deciding to make something to surprise him, very proud of having him alive yet.

Then you decide to prepare something to the day he will arrive, organizing something in you house only for you both. Nothing too grand. As something more like a "welcome back" to him.

When Lilia's arrive there, putting his feet inside your house, he came across with something horrible. Something that made him wanted to stay and die on the war, just for never seeing it.

Lilia just saw you getting a shot inside your own house in the exact moment he come there. He concluded that it was planned 'cause of him. Barely noticing when he left an agony scream out of his mouth calling your name. But it was already too late.

The shot was accurate. Not leaving one measly chance for you to survive. There was no magic in the world that could fix it.

You stiil conscious by a split of seconds having heard Lilia's voice for the last time on your life. But not his usual voice, a voice that you'd didn't want to hear, you never would like to hear his pain like this.

Lilia ran to you, catching you in his arms as he cries huggin' you. Irrationally. As his love could save you from it. But it couldn't. He cried a child for the rest of the night in the painfully like as he could. Not supporting the pain of losing the thing most precious thing in his life.

Oh, The Great Seven, how he wanted that it isn't being true. What hells him made to deserve this?!

Lilia was missing for a half of a day, appearing just in the end of the afternoon to talk to the King. Asking if he may request for a dignified funeral to you and telling to Malleus what happened. Lilia was still very embittered with the occured and Malleus be very chocked and sad for what happened by losting someone else of his family.

Lilia always known that you will die first than him. He was immortal and you don't. But anyway, that way...?

He visited your grave's everyday after this. But something still wasn't satisfying him. He wanted so bad to revenge you now.

My...😭 revising it i saw how I REALLY wrote really nothing to Azul writing for another characters beyond diasomnia is so hard to me *screams*

Like for example..

You were just wandering around the halls of NRC when you overheard the Light Music Club members talking about needing a producer to enter a grand competition specifically for talented students (Idk how these things work okk?? Just go along with it)

Hesitatingly knocking on the door and opening it fully, you let yourself in while excusing yourself

“Uhm..I don’t mean to intrude but I heard you guys talking about needing a producer?”

“Ah..Yup! We were planning on hiring a professional heheh..But turns out that they want the producer to go to the same school as the one participating..”

“Apparently it was because some participants might just hire a professional producer which puts other teams who can’t at a huge disadvantage”

“The other teams are basically fighting about this rule..The people with money are complaining about it while the average people have no problems with the rule sigh”
