your little angel of a son inherits katsuki's bad temper, and it manifests in his terrible fours.
there's an awful little shriek that echoes throughout the house and katsuki is on his feet and halfway to the living room before his eyes are even open—but the only danger awaiting him there is a pouty little brat.
his son is sitting amidst a swarm of toys that have been strewn about haphazardly, and his arms are crossed and big fat tears are in his eyes and he looks mad as all hell. you do, too, sitting across from him with a deep frown, holding the ripped page of a book from his little shelf.
"no sir," you warn, "we do not treat our things this way."
you incite a meltdown.
katsuki feels his own temper flaring—half from shock and awe at his little mini-me and also from the exhaustion wearing him thin—when your son kicks his legs out in a burst of rage, letting out another little shriek of anger. your cheeks puff up, wearing the same furious expression, and at the hiss of his name, the little brat jumps to his feet and snatches a toy truck nearby and launches it across the room.
"oi!"
your son's attention snaps to katsuki, startled, losing a hint of anger as he pouts at the floor.
"what'd she just tell you?" and when he gets no response, katsuki prods with a, "hah? answer me."
but the little boy only stamps his little feet and grunts out a furious, wordless sound that has katsuki's lip curling. you let out a heavy sigh, shaking your head at him before frowning down at the torn page in your hands, and then katsuki is planting a hand on the back of his son's head and steering him towards the front door.
"time to take a walk."
the boy goes, even though his arms are crossed and his eyes are downcast. he only resists once, as katsuki tries to shove his little feet into his shoes.
"i don't wanna." he mumbles, face scrunched and wet before promptly looking away.
"i didn't ask."
"hmm!"
katsuki has to resist the urge to pinch his own son.
they get out the door eventually, and the little boy stomps along for the most part, no longer needing a guiding hand on the back of his head once they get around the block a time or two. neither of them say anything.
fatherhood has taught katsuki a lot of things, which was expected, but the one thing that's surprised him is—he's learned all the things he doesn't want his son to be.
the first of them being angry. not the way katsuki was, mean and selfish, throughout his childhood; hateful and careless, in his teens; shut off and simmering, even now.
he waits until the tension has melted off his little shoulders, until his little face has dried and evened out. his arms swing at his sides, occasionally coming up to wipe his snot with the back of his hand, and he eyes the few wildflowers they pass with a little hum and a small smile.
katsuki tugs once on his ear, frowning down at the little brat when he peeks up at him. "that how you're supposed to treat your mama?"
he doesn't answer at first, leaning his head all the way back and clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth, until katsuki stops walking. "no, sir."
"how you s'posed to treat her?"
"with love."
"how you s'posed to treat your toys?"
"with care."
"uh-huh," katsuki squishes his son's cheeks in his hand, shaking his head lightly from side to side until he starts giggling. "that how you acted today?"
"no, sir."
"that how y'r gonna act again?"
"no, sir."
"okay," katsuki murmurs, nodding once before letting him free. the little boy bounces on his feet and sucks on his lip, grinning when his tummy is pinched. "now pick those for your mama."
and he does, carefully plucking a small handful of flowers from the grass as they make their way back home, and just before he runs up the steps to the house, katsuki's little angel of a son hands him the biggest one.

Fate don't know you like I do
Hello, guys, have this super cheesy and self indulgent piece I wrote for Bakudeku day! I'm so happy to be part of this fandom and all the wonderful content creators out there, so here's my little contribution, enjoy! I wrote it super fast so sorry for any mistake or typo!
Also, the title is a song I love, please check it out, it inspired the whole thing!
Izuku wakes up to the sight of his bedroom ceiling, body aching and mind restless. He’s no longer wearing his hero suit, except for the undershirt and his pants, everything else is gone. Slowly, the yells of the crowd infiltrate his thoughts and he wishes to run away, to go to where he can’t hurt anyone he cares about.
He has to leave. He is being selfish. Izuku props himself up on his elbows.
“That’s the face of a rabbit ready to bolt,” the gruff voice startles him, and he turns to see Kacchan sitting on his desk, frowning. It adds up that they wouldn't leave him without someone standing guard.
Kacchan has changed out of his hero suit, and a dark grey long sleeved t-shirt hides the bandages on his shoulder and stomach, but Izuku is keenly aware of the wounds he was sporting as he flew around trying to keep him from leaving. By the end, his childhood friend was bleeding through them. That was Izuku’s fault; both Kacchan reopening his injuries and the fact that he has them in the first place.
“Kacchan, I'm so-“
“Save it, nerd,” he abandons the desk chair and shuffles closer.
Izuku takes him in; after weeks of agonizing over the state in which he left Kacchan, seeing him do a perfect arch in the air and stop a villain with a precise AP Shot, filled him with a relief so strong, it paralyzed him, and he was only able to stare in awe.
During the following fight, if Izuku can call it that when it was against his friends, Kacchan was everywhere; coordinating different maneuvers, and he even had a new move. Izuku told his friends they couldn’t keep up, and he remembers vaguely that he apologized, because in reality they’re miles ahead of him.
Still, nobody is like Kacchan: certain and absolute, pure will held together by his convictions. He never backs down, and he never gives up, only marches forward. Izuku never stood a chance against him, in more than one way.
Kacchan kneels by the bed, putting an elbow on the bed, close to his hips, and lazily resting his head on his hand.
“Kacchan, I can’t stay here,” he mumbles, trying to convey all his inner turmoil. He wants to stay, he is so tired and scared, but he will not risk anyone for his sake.
Kacchan frowns in response.
“You can, and you will, dumbass,” he states, surprising him by clutching his forearm. “I’m not chasing your sorry ass around anymore.”
“Then let me go,” Izuku turns his arm, grabbing him as well.
“You’re not going anywhere, Izuku.”
The name travels through his body, lighting him up on the inside, coursing through him with the violence of the first time he used One For All, equally exhilarating and terrifying.
It all comes back to him; the rain, his words, his bow, Izuku collapsing and Kacchan appearing in time to support him.
Izuku.
“You apologized,” he whispers, tears coming to his eyes. “You said all those things in front of the whole class.”
“I had to, asshole, you left before I could tell you in private,” he doesn’t look embarrassed or regretful. Kacchan doesn’t shy away from his decisions once he makes up his mind. “Only a shitty letter for explanation and that was it.” He shakes his head. “You didn’t even let me go with you, idiot.”
“You’re still dealing with the outcome of the last time I let you come with me.” The tears are running freely down his cheeks. “I had to watch how he almost took you away from me.” He scrubs his eyes furiously with his free hand, not letting go of Kacchan. “I can’t allow more people to suffer because of me.” He’s on his way to a full on breakdown, struggling to get air in his lungs, and blood roaring in his ears, the noises muffled.
Suddenly, Kacchan is hovering over him, shoving his shoulder firmly.
“Hey, Deku, scoot over,” Izuku only glances at him through his crying, baffled. “Give me some room to lay down, like when we were kids.” He’s already in the process of climbing on the bed, and Izuku manages to slide his body closer to the other end, grabbing the bed cover when the weight of his childhood friend laying down almost makes him roll over him. “Jesus Christ, you stink,” Kacchan complains.
“I know,” Izuku turns on his side, creating more space between them. Hygiene wasn’t that high on his list of priorities, not even eating or sleeping was, and he feels awful. He didn’t have the energy to shower before passing out.
“You smell like dirt and sweat.” Kacchan scrunches up his nose. “Worst of all, you reek of that goddamn martyr complex, and it pisses me off.” he turns too, and traps Izuku in his red gaze. “If you’re choosing to ignore all I said before, at least pay attention to the last part.” He’s not sugarcoating his words, he’s as brash as he always is. “We all want to fight, because we’re heroes and we want to protect everyone, including the fucking chosen one, whether you want us to or not. I’m not asking for your damn permission, and neither is any of the rest. So, you can either play nice and make it easy for us, or be a self-sacrificial idiot, making it all the more annoying. Your call.”
“I don’t know how to stop,” Izuku grimaces, reaching for him with a shaky hand, and awkwardly squeezes his arm. “I’m not ignoring all you said, Kacchan” he chooses to focus on that, gaze in his All Might covers. “I, I forgave you a long time ago, mostly because I wanted to focus on the good parts, so in a way I let go of it for me.” He forgets about his smell, and scoots closer, resting his forehead close to his shoulder. “But thank you, Katsuki.” He hasn’t said that name in ages, but that doesn’t come from any animosity on his part. Kacchan has always been and will always be Kacchan. Izuku feels him move as Kacchan places his chin on top of his matted curls, and they stay like that for a while, with their past laid to rest at last.
Kacchan speaks up first.
“Listen, Deku, everything is getting pretty fucking real,” he pauses for a moment. “Shit is really dangerous for any of us, but for you it is like a thousand times worse. Your ass is a fucking death magnet, and it’s driving me crazy.”
“One For All is a big responsibility, Kacchan, but it’s not yours.” He does his best to keep his voice low and soft, the weight of the legacy crushing him.
“The Hell is not!” Kacchan retorts vehemently. “You made it my deal the moment you told me!” Izuku winced. “What’s up with that? Wasn't that the biggest secret ever? Are you that much of a blabber mouth?”
Izuku clutches his arm harder.
“I wasn’t going to let you think I lied all those years.” He explains, and in a moment of bravery, he continues. “I’ve never been anything but honest with you, Kacchan.”
The anger in his voice disappears as fast as it came.
“I know that, idiot.” His bigger hand finds Izuku’s hip. “One for All is your responsibility, but you are mine.” Izuku is pretty sure he stops breathing. “Since we were fucking four years old, and you were this quirkless little shit that wouldn’t quit chasing after me, no matter how much I pushed you away.” Kacchan scoffs and his breath tickles him. “Well, congrats, dumbass, now you have me and I’m not going anywhere.” His heart flies to his throat and doesn’t let any word come out. Kacchan growls, clearly bothered by his silence. “All for One VS One For All is the fucking shit show for the ages, and of course you, Deku of all people, have to be right in the middle of that crap.” He talks through clenched teeth, and Izuku longs to soothe him, but there’s nothing he can say to fix the situation. “All those who fell against that fucking maniac and now you have to-” Kacchan chokes up, and punches Izuku on the arm. “Whatever, there's nothing I can do for those nobodies that came before you, but you have an advantage over them.”
“What’s that?” He whispers in a small voice, not believing he is having this conversation in bed with his childhood friend.
“You have me,” Kacchan utters, and Izuku feels like he hit him with an explosion, sweeping his feet from under him. “Just let me set something straight, Deku, I’m not going to be your fucking sidekick, you hear me? You watch my back and I watch yours. I don’t trust anyone to keep up with you.”
I don’t trust anyone else to protect you.
“Kacchan-”
“You deal with this crap once and for fucking all, Deku, and we come up on top.” Kacchan declares, Izuku can hear the smirk in his words, and he has to smile back. “I don’t settle for anything but the best, and taking down fucking evil incarnated, I’m in, Deku, I’m all in.” He disentangles them, leaning back with a vulnerable expression, and offers his hand for Izuku to clasp. “What do you say?”
Izuku wants to say no, push him away from danger and lock him somewhere where he is going to be safe, but he knows Kacchan. He is determined, stubborn to a fault, and braver than anyone he has met. If he sets his mind on protecting Izuku, nothing is going to stop Kacchan, not even him.
That’s why Izuku loves him like he does.
In this space, with just the two of them, Izuku can be honest with himself: He is scared, and he has been for a while.
Scared of not living up to All Might’s hopes.
Scared of never mastering this power.
Scared of letting down all the people that gave up their lives to take down All For One.
Scared of being the wrong choice.
At the end of the day, Midoriya Izuku is terrified of not being enough.
In the midst of all the fear and doubt, he sees Kacchan; the person Izuku admires the most, the hero he has chased since he was four years old, and the driving force behind his progress. Kacchan, who knows all of him, and understands him because he sees Izuku for who he is, all the good and bad parts.
His Kacchan, who is now offering to help him and ease his burden, risking his dream, his precious life in the process, to stay close to Izuku and protect him.
A part of him, the one that imitates All Might, is screaming at him that he has to reject the support, to do it on his own. He should hold the weight of the legacy by himself. However, the other part of him, the one that believes Kacchan is what victory looks like, tells him he isn’t All Might and he doesn’t have to be.
He is Midoriya Izuku, and he is allowed to live his life and fight his battles on his terms, just as Kacchan does.
He clasps his hand, and Kacchan smiles, without a trace of mockery or anger, just plain happiness and relief lifting the corners of his mouth. Izuku hasn't seen him smile like that in years, and he needs to say something. He means to say yes to his offer, maybe thank him, but what comes out instead is:
“I love you.”
The punched out gasp that Kacchan lets out shocks Izuku more than his confession does. He can’t believe the words he has hidden for so long in his heart escaped that easily. More shocking is the fact that he doesn’t want to take it back. Even if he is scared of many things, Kacchan isn’t one of them. Yes, Kacchan frustrates him, he worries him, and makes him nervous, but Izuku is not scared of him, never has been. He can die any day now, any of them can, and he is done with silencing his feelings.
Kacchan is not screaming or scowling, neither he is leaping out of the bed and running away from him, so Izuku would say he is mostly stunned, although he doesn’t see why. His feelings for him are a key part of the person he is. Izuku admires him, cares for him.
Izuku loves him.
“Do you mean it?” The question seems to pain him. He hasn’t released his hand.
“Yes, Kacchan.” Izuku is not hiding it, not anymore.
“After everything?”
The words strike his heart and cut deeply. Izuku doesn’t hold any grudge or resentment, and he can’t tolerate the idea of Kacchan thinking he can feel something for him despite their past.
“Because of everything, Kacchan,” Izuku replies, touching their joined hands with his forehead, shying from the red eyes. “The past doesn’t disappear, but that’s not our present, and definitely not our future.” He takes a deep breath to calm his heart. “You don’t have to say anything. I didn’t say it to get an answer.”
“Deku, you can do so much better,” Kacchan says, bluntly.
Izuku doesn't let the obvious rejection deter him from speaking with the truth.
“I don’t see how,” he stares at him, mustering a wonky smile. “You are you, Kacchan; you’re brave, honest, loyal, brilliant, and hardworking.” The words spill without filter, and he drinks the sight of his pale skin blushing. “It’s not about doing better, just who I choose, because when it comes down to it, I chose you a long time ago, Kacchan.”
Kacchan tips his head up, the blond strands cloaking his eyes. Izuku refuses to regret coming clean about his feelings, but as the silence grows between them, he starts to fidget. Little by little, he realizes the true weight of his confession, and the bridges he might be burning.
“This doesn’t have to change anything, Kacchan.”
“It changes everything, Deku,” he replies, not missing a beat.
Izuku curses his luck; it was just like him to confess his love right when Kacchan finally came back to him, something Izuku hadn’t dreamt in his wildest dreams. Dealing with these feelings much longer, when they are so powerful and consuming is not possible. Still, he should have tried, for the sake of their friendship.
A callous finger touches his chin, breaking his spiral of thoughts, and lifts his face. The fiery eyes are wide and defenseless, embers instead of the wild inferno Izuku expected.
The first touch of chapped lips is an awakening, and his first kiss is over before he can finish tasting it.
Kacchan leans back, and for the second time in his life, Izuku’s mind goes blank and his body moves on its own, chasing after him. Their second kiss is messy, they don’t have any experience, but Izuku is lost to it. He tries to commit to memory every brush of their lips and ragged gasps, how soft is his blond hair, and the feeling of fingers sinking in his curls, guiding the kiss.
They break apart, but stay close.
"You didn’t have to do that, Kacchan,” he says against his mouth.
“I never do shit I don’t want to do, Deku.”
Izuku grabs him again, bunching up his t-shirt, so full of love that he fears he is going to float away if he doesn’t get a firm grip.
“Deku, I-“ his voice quivers and Izuku kisses him again, softly and reassuringly.
“It’s okay, Kacchan, you don’t have to say anything yet.” Izuku told him because he wanted him to know, but he has had years to come to terms with it. He’s not expecting Kacchan to figure everything out right now.
“You better stick around after that, you damn nerd,” he touches their foreheads together. “Or take me with you. Two options, I’m magnanimous like that.”
Izuku giggles, the sound so foreign after the past weeks.
“Okay, Kacchan, for that I’ll stick around.”
“Or you’ll take me with you.”
Izuku is still terrified of anything happening to him, but he trusts him the most.
“I’ll stick around or take you with me,” he promises, and Kacchan nods satisfied, wrapping Izuku in his arms and hugging him closer. “I thought you said I stink.”
“You fucking do,” Kacchan says immediately. “When I think about this, the first thing that is going to pop into my mind is that my first kiss smelled like a wet dog.”
Izuku laughs until he cries, and Kacchan joins him.
At one point, his back is to Kacchan, and he’s playing with his hands. Izuku’s so relaxed his eyes are drifting close, sleep taking over.
“Hey, Deku,”
“Yes, Kacchan?” he says drowsily.
“You have magnificent taste.”
Izuku snorts, pulling his arm tighter around him.
“I’m going to sleep now,” he murmurs, and he jumps when Kacchan buries his face on the crook of his neck. “Wake me up if something happens.”
“You can trust me, Deku, nobody is going to pass through me.”
Izuku believes him with his entire heart, but he still chooses to only think and not say what crosses his mind before falling asleep in his arms:
I would die before letting anything happen to you.

“I HATE YOU, KATSUKI BAKUGO.”
Tumblr media
“But you couldn’t help but feel selfish at the thought that... while he was going off saving everyone else, you were the one who needed saving.”
fights with bakugo weren’t uncommon, but when you snapped back that was when things got rough
it began when he was getting ready to train like he always did-- waking up early in the morning and not coming back until dinner time
you knew that his hero work was pretty draining most of the time, so you let it slide. being a pro-hero was no easy feat, so you understood where he was coming from if he ever snapped
but on the days where he was free, all you wanted was a little extra time with him.
“hey ‘suki,” you said quietly as you ruffled his hair. “how was your day, love?”
but today hadn’t been a good day for him, and he just wanted to be left alone
he was slumping on the couch, watching tv as he simply nodded in reply
“good.”
you couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment with his apathetic reply. was he serious? all you wanted was to spend some quality time with him, and that was the best he could do?
“hey, uh, it’s break! how about we go outside, hmm? there was this really good takoyaki place-”
“god, do you ever shut up?” he said, his head whipping around as he got up to face you eye-to-eye
“oh,” you muttered quietly. “uh... sorry.”
you were never really one to snap-- especially since you knew if you got frustrated back, it would just cause more trouble. instead, you sighed and walked away
“but... would it be okay? maybe next time?”
“yeah, whatever.” bakugo snapped.
[ FIC BELOW THE CUT ]
Tumblr media
A “next time” never came. Not even for a single second. He was always busy, or always tired, but no matter what, he always responded with “not in the mood,” or something along the lines of that.
But this week in particular? It wasn’t going well for you.
While he worked hard in hero training, you constantly pushed through every single day with assignment upon assignment, memorizing formulas and trying to figure out equations. You worked diligently at home throughout the day, only to see in big, red blocks, “LATE” once more.
You looked at yourself, disappointed. There was constant brainfog going around in your head, nothing was clear anymore, and all you wanted was to go nowhere and everywhere at the same time.
Why couldn’t you get any of this right? What was wrong with you?
Doing what once Bakugo promised you to do, you pulled out your phone and texted him, remembering his words when you two first got together:
“I’ll always be here for you.”
You: Bby, what time are you coming home today? I miss you 🥺
You waited a few minutes. You knew that he was probably on another chase, running and saving the day once more.
But you couldn’t help but feel selfish at the thought that... while he was going off saving everyone else, you were the one who needed saving. You felt selfish and clingy for missing the days when things were easier in highschool-- TV-dinner dates, walks around the park, snuggling late into the night. Sure, you knew his job was important. He was going around rescuing hundreds of people every day, constantly working and running-- so why was it so hard for you to understand?
What’s wrong with me?
“Unless...” you muttered to yourself. “Is it normal? Is a relationship like this normal? It is, right? I still get to see him, so that’s a plus. Well, sometimes. Kind of. I get to see him on weekends if he isn’t planning on living on the couch all day. But that’s normal, right? I think? I don’t think he’d... would he?”
💥 Boom Baby <3 💥: I’ll be home in 10. See you.
Your eyes lit up with excitement, the storm in your head finally calming. It was going to be okay. It was going to be okay.
- - -
It was not okay. Things weren’t okay.
As soon as Bakugo came home, he slammed the door and began rambling about his day again. You listened.
He talked.
You listened.
You listened to him drone on about his day.
And not once,
not once did he ask about yours.
“And I can’t believe it!” he growled as he tossed his jacket into the closet. “That damn idiot doesn’t even know what a villain is, from what I’m guessing,”
Your blood boiled as he continued to talk, not once looking you directly in the eyes.
“...and he’s probably going off and crying again. And that stupid villain wasn’t even trying! It’s as if he was just trying to cause trouble for me, and I think that’s fuckin’ ridiculous.”
Bakugo took his shoes off, throwing them onto the rug as he opened the door into the living room while talking. He didn’t even... he didn’t even glance at you.
“And me? Ha! I was forced to go on patrol,”
Me. He’s was always saying, me, me, me, by myself, alone.
Your jaw clenched as you heard him drone on.
“And they know I hate patrol, those damn... whatever. But again. And the thing is? No one ever listened to me! I didn’t even-”
“No one ever listened to me”
Was he kidding?
That was the last straw.
Bakugo continued. “Heck, I didn’t even get to start on anything! They just made me-”
“I hate you.”
“...What?” he said, eyes narrowing as he stopped.
He looked you in the eye this time.
“I said, I hate you, Bakugo Katsuki.” you hissed. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve been waiting for you? Every day? For you to actually come home? Do you have any clue how lonely it’s been? Did you even know that I got accepted into the school I applied to, because I did-”
“Oh, you want to talk working hard?” Bakugo raged, suddenly towering over you. “You want to go there? Because I certainly don’t fuckin’ mind! Do you have any idea how clingy you are? Because unlike you, I don’t have an unlimited battery of energy. I’m tired all day, and I just want to go to sleep. So do whatever you need! Wash the dishes! Clean the house! I don’t give a damn, because guess what? I don’t care!”
Bakugo’s throat hitched when he realized was he’d said.
“Really?” You laughed in disbelief. “Really, so all of a sudden, you’re treating me like I’m some sort of object! Like I’m something you can play with? I just wanted to spend time with you, Bakugo!”
....But he hadn’t expected for you to fight back. You had never fought back.
“If you wanted to spend time with me, you would have been smart enough to know that I don’t give a damn anymore. Get lost for all I care. Deal with it yourself, you got that?”
When was the last time I’ve seen y/n fight for theirself?
“Ha! And you think I already haven’t felt that way?” You spat bitterly. You could feel the tension rising in the room, and it was just a constant back-and-forth between you two. “Because I have! I’ve stayed up all night, worried, crying, because you wouldn’t take the time out of your day to spend time with me. I understand your hero work! I get it, I do! But something as small as a genuine how are you? could have made my day, but did you give it?”
“At least you’re not the one who’s running their ass off just to get some money to live-”
“So you think you’re helping me now?”
Bakugo went up to your face before holding you by the collar and shoving you against the wall, tiny sparks beginning to form at his hands. “No! Why would I help you? You don’t even do anything, just get out of my face! Get out of my life, because I don’t ever want to see you or your stupid face ever again, go find someone else to take care of you!”
Bakugo’s throat hitched again at the sudden slip of words.
An immense wave of silence washed over.
Silence became deafening.
Who...
Who was he?
Who was this person?
Who was this... stranger? Monster?
Did you even know him?
Why was he...
Who was this?
Whatever happened to “I’ll always be here for you?”
Your hands shook against your chest, eyes filling with tears as your heart hammered against your chest.
“Fine.” You managed to say. If you were leaving, you were leaving firmly without a single trace of regret. “Fine then. See how it is without me, your so-called maid at home, isn’t that right?”
You could practically see the utter panic in his eyes.
“Right, Katsuki?”
For the first time in your life, you saw a shadow of vulnerability in his frame. His hands were shaking, eyes suddenly bloodshot and his breathing pattern increasing with speed.
“Answer me.”
Bakugo began shaking his head vigorously as he tried to reach out for your hand, but you pushed him away. “N-no, y/n, I didn’t mean-” he began.
You cut him off.
“No, no, you-- you did. You did. I know you meant every last word, and I mean the one I’m saying now.”
Even though your voice shook, you still chose to speak.
“I’m breaking up with you. We’re done.”
His eyes seemed frantic. “Baby, give me another chance, I swear I’ll make it right, I can,” Bakugo trembled. He stared at you in the eyes before trying to grab your hand again as if you were dying in front of him and had the audacity to say, “That’s what I always said, right? That I promised I’d always be here for you-”
“What’s done is done.” You said, before even giving him a chance to keep speaking. Was he insane? “You hurt me.”
“And I sure hope to God that you won’t ever hurt anyone else ever again. Because the thing is?” You stood up in front of him, watching his frame quake and his eyes widen. “You’re always going to be this toxic.”
“I wish I could say I was sorry.”
And you slammed the door for the last time.

Note
ugh i love your fluffy alphabet on tamaki 🥺 so if it's okay, can you do one for bakugou, too?
headcanon corner - katsuki bakugou sfw alphabet
word count 1.8k
reader type gender-neutral
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
In the beginning, Katsuki’s affection will come out quite stubbornly and will be harder to see at times. Later on, it’s obvious how much he cares for you. His heart is full of love despite his aggressive attitude. He’s not afraid to show PDA, no matter who’s watching, and you’re often the recipient of his rare compliments. Katsuki is always ready to say “I love you”.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
That’s a tricky one. Befriending people isn’t exactly on Katuski’s radar, but he’d prefer someone who could “keep up with him” if so to speak. Reliable helps too. This friendship might start with him genuinely, although reluctantly, praising your quirk or skills.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
“This is fuckin’ stupid,” He’ll mumble as he wraps his strong arms around you, but he’s loving every minute of it. Katsuki’s down to snuggle in front of everyone, but if you’re the one initiating, he’ll be a tad bit embarrassed and no one dares point it out. When you two are completely alone you’ll get to see his softer side and you might even be the big spoon for once.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
He’ll want to settle down in a sense that he needs to be sure that they’re his and he’s theirs. The method of doing so will depend on what’s best for both of you, but moving in together is probably in the cards. Katsuki makes a fantastic roommate because, among his many talents, cooking is one of them. He’s also a bit of a clean fanatic and you might wake up to him vacuuming or doing the dishes at 7 AM or something.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
Firstly, he would fight tooth-and-nail against whatever was threatening the relationship because he’s not letting you go easily. If it absolutely came down to ending things, Katsuki would make it straight to the point and as quick as possible. He wouldn’t be able to remain ‘just friends’ with you and would never truly move on in his heart.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quickly would they want to get married?)
Katsuki is beyond committed and he firmly believes there are several ways to show it besides putting a ring on it. If you two were to eventually get married it would be later on so your careers could be focused on. He just wants you both to succeed and achieve your dreams more than anything, but if the marriage was something you really wanted, he might consider tying the knot earlier than previously planned.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Although I think Katsuki is actually a sensitive person, he can definitely be on the rough side of things. He can read and interpret others’ emotions, but relating to them can be a challenge. I don’t believe he’d ever act maliciously towards you or anyone else he cares for. He’s got a soft touch and even the occasional kind words during the most surprising times.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Katsuki’s a bigger fan of kisses, but he does love hugs! He’s always, well, touching you. Huge bear hugs. Squeezy. Warm. The type to literally lift you off of your feet. He’ll leave little tickling kisses on your neck and shoulders while whispering words against your skin.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
He’ll say the words in every possible way… besides actually saying the words. It’s like a mental block of Katsuki’s because he’s admittedly scared of proclaiming his love in such a straight-forward way. Once he gets over that first hump, it’s no problem for him. He won’t be throwing the words around like candy, but he’ll always say what’s on his mind.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
Katsuki is emotional and jealousy is a familiar feeling for him. Being a bit of a hothead definitely doesn’t help either. This jealousy stems from his insecurities and can be overbearing. At the beginning of the relationship, it will probably be the cause of some arguments between you two. Later on, jealous Katsuki will just include him being extra pissy and extra cuddly.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Passionate. Always. If he’s kissing you, he’s going all the way. Even during your first kiss, he gave it his all. Sure, it was an awkward mess of spit and teeth, but he was eager and didn’t hesitate! Katsuki’s skills have improved by now and he never fails to showcase them. It doesn’t matter where, if he’s kissing you, then he’s happy. It depends on your preferences. And as for him… his neck is especially sensitive and he’ll never admit it.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
Well, after the remedial lessons episode, we know he’s not very good. At all. Despite that, I can imagine him still wanting kids eventually. An “I can’t stand any kid except my own” type.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
Katsuki is your typical morning person. He’s up at the same time every day and it amazes you. Well, unless you’re a morning person yourself, that is. If you’re a heavy sleeper then waking you up on time will be his new personal mission. He’ll probably make you a nice breakfast and get as many kisses as he can in before work.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Haha! This guy goes to bed at like 9-pm. He’s got a strict schedule and if you somehow manage to get him to stay up later to watch a movie with you or something, he’s gonna fall asleep on your lap and it’s adorable. It’s the perfect opportunity to play with his soft hair without having to hear him grumble about it the entire time.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
It’s going to take a while to break through his outer shell, but he’s not exactly secretive about his feelings and his past. Katsuki trusts you enough to be open with his mistakes and he won’t hide anything if you just ask.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
I think this one is a bit self-explanatory, but it’s not very often that he gets angry at you. He’s getting better at controlling his anger and you tend to bring out his gentler side too.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing or do they kind of forget everything?)
In the moment, it may seem like simply he brushes it off or doesn’t really acknowledge it, but that’s actually not the case. Katsuki always remembers and takes everything into consideration. The number of little things he keeps notes of might surprise.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
One Saturday afternoon, Katsuki decided he was going to try out a new chocolate cake recipe and you decided you’d try your hand at baking for once! He was absolutely willing to teach you and it was going well… until you somehow managed to drop an egg yolk right on Katsuki’s sock covered foot. His favorite pair of socks at that. The kitchen was quiet until he swifty flicked flour at your forehead and it was game-on from there. The next thirty minutes were filled with lots of flour and kisses.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Katsuki couldn’t be more protective of you and he’s more than willing to use his quirk if needed. He’s prepared to fight for you in the blink of an eye, no question about it. His job as a pro-hero means so much when you’re someone he has to protect, but he also knows it’s a mutual feeling. He completely believes in your own physical abilities to keep him safe and your reassuring words make him truly feel like the greatest.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
He’s certainly not lazy when it comes to your relationship, but at the same time, Katsuki finds things like fancy dates and lavish gifts kinda pointless. He couldn’t care less about eating at an expensive restaurant, all that matters is that he’s with you. That’s not to say that he won’t give you nice things because he will be spoiling you, especially on anniversaries and holidays.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
His inferiority complex has always been his biggest enemy. There are times when he just can’t shut off his competitive side and it can turn things ugly when he lets his insecurities get the best of him. His temper is also something he’s struggled with and is still learning how to manage.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
Katsuki really doesn’t care about that kind of thing. Of course, it does fuel his ego and boost his confidence when you compliment his looks. He considers himself to be an attractive person, but nothing too special. (You think differently)
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
He likes to believe otherwise, but yeah, he really would. He couldn’t imagine a day without you. It’s just a scary thing for Katsuki to accept that he relies on someone other than himself for once.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
He’ll never admit it, but spiders really freak him out. Let’s just say he won’t argue if you offer to take one outside.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
Someone who gives up easily would just kinda irritate him. Katsuki knows people struggle, hell, he’s definitely one of them, but seeing someone simply not try and throw in the towel when things don’t go their way is something that would get on his nerves.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)
He’s somehow got a cute snore. Yup. It’s not even really a snore, more like some kind of soft breathing noise, but it’s noticeable and something you’ve grown to love. It’s also difficult for Katsuki to fall asleep in places other than his own bed.

My head produced a scene, basically what happens after the ending to my blue core Katsuki vs Overhaul post where Dabi captures Katsuki after Katsuki defeated Overhaul. The whole fight/fights were broadcast out, and the heroes get free too late to stop Dabi from taking the heavily weakened Katsuki.
So, the LOV/PLF now have Katsuki. He’s still heavily weakened and injured, but they patch him up as best they can and he’s put on painkillers, which have the added benefit of keeping him hazy so escaping his harder for him.
Aizawa is losing his fucking mind, as are a lot of class 1-A, but unlike before they have no leads on where Katsuki is, given that the league now has way more resources to keep him hidden.
Or at least, they think they have no leads.
Hawks, a double agent, is working on fixing that. Sort of. It doesn’t take him long to find out where Katsuki is. The league is wary about letting him have any information on the matter, but Hawks is a charmer and convinces them he just likes the kid and wants to be sure he’s okay.
Finally, Hawks gets down to where Katsuki is being kept. He’s meant to stay quiet so Katsuki doesn’t notice him. That was his plan anyways.
His plan did not involve a wide eyed Dabi being in the cell already.
Katsuki is high on painkillers, gaze bleary as he recounts his mother’s anger and blame after the last time he got kidnapped. His words are slurred and voice quiet, sad, weak. Towards the end of his story, he refocuses, red eyes seeming to see Dabi again, for just long enough for him to get out a single sentence.
“Guess you'd understand what that's like, huh Touya?”
And then he’s passed out. Leaving Hawks and Dabi both equally stunned and confused.
Dabi recovers first, pushing his way out of the cell almost in a frenzy, brushing past everyone else to get up to the roof. Desperate for fresh air and to be alone. He is not alone. Hawks is stunned for several seconds longer, but once he regains himself, once all the puzzle pieces fall into place, he’s surging after Dabi, frantic to not lose him. Not again.
When Hawks gets to the roof, Dabi is on the far side of it, sitting on the edge with his legs dangling off the side. The door was silent, Hawks was silent, Dabi is not looking at him. That doesn’t stop Dabi from speaking the moment Hawks pauses in indecision.
"I know you're there."
Throwing on a smile Hawks tries to play it off, stepping forward as if nothing is wrong. As if this doesn’t change everything.
"Hey, uh, sorry, didn't mean to intrude, I just saw you and you looked kinda upset-"
"Don't lie to me, spy. I know who you are. I know you heard him."
Hawks blood freezes, but Dabi's made no move to attack him, so he steps a little closer against his better judgment. He’s not afraid. How could he be?
"... So I'm guessing the kid got it right?"
"... Go away."
"That's a yes then."
Hawks is still a few steps back, and he's got so many mixed emotions but in the end, he's a hero. He does what he does best. Besides, there’s no way he could walk away from this. Not again.
"Listen, I don't know what hap-"
"Fuck off. I'm not doing this. I'm not someone you can save, Hawks. Don't waste your time. Just take the kid and go. I figured out you're a spy, your cover was blown, blah blah, so you didn't have any other choice but to cut your losses and save who you could."
Hawks' eyes soften, hesitation slipping away as he steps forward, hopping up onto the roof's edge to sit next to Dabi. They’re sitting too close together, but Dabi doesn’t try to move away despite his words. Both their gazes look out over the horizon as Hawks tone shifts to something regretful.
"I can't save him."
That gets Dabi to look at him, blue eyes angry and accusing.
"The fuck are you talking about? You could cut those damn chains and be gone before the damn alarm even sounds."
His words, an odd hostile vote of confidence, only serve to make Hawks' expression fall further into soft apologetic sadness.
"You’re right, I could do that, but I can't save him.” He pauses for a moment. “I figured out his location two days ago. I've been lying to the Commission about it since I found out. I’m going to keep lying to them about it."
Now Dabi just looks confused, eyes narrowed and face scrunched up as he tries to figure out Hawks’ game.
"Why the hell would you do that? What's stopping you from just taking his ass back to his shitty high school?"
Hawks' voice turned cold, eyes hallow. He looks more defeated than Dabi had ever seen him, which isn’t saying much. But he also looks more defeated than Touya had ever seen him, and that says a lot more.
"Because if I bring him back, if any hero brings him back, he won't be returning to UA. At all."
Then after a beat, almost as an afterthought, Hawks continued. There’s too casual a tone to his words, as if he’s on the news giving an update on a bad situation while trying not to let his mask break.
"The Commission saw the broadcast. Everyone did. Everyone saw a 16 year old unleash the equivalent of a small nuclear weapon in under 10 seconds. According to one of his classmates, the kid can do it with no real prep and a 12 to 24 hour recovery. No long lasting damage if the attacks are spaced out enough. After the Commission saw that, they gave me new orders."
It takes a moment for Dabi to process that. He's almost gaping at Hawks in horror and revulsion. Hawks doesn’t need to say what his orders are. Both of them already know what the Commission does.
"They can't- I mean I know they'd fucking try it, but UA wouldn't give up one of their best students. Fuck, that homeroom teacher of his wouldn't put up with that shit."
"His parents already signed the forms. Hardly took anything to convince them. UA has no legal ground to stop anything.”
Dabi tries a different approach, still unwilling to believe it.
"It wouldn't work. He's too old, you know how stubborn that damn kid is. I can tell you for a fact we aren’t gonna be able to break him, and they sure as hell won’t either."
"They can. They’ll make it work. One way or another.”
That’s all Hawks has to say, both of them know how true it is.
“The public wouldn’t-”
Hawks barks out a laugh, and it is an ugly, angry sound of resentment.
"They've got it all planned out, No matter what state he's in when he's recovered, the story is he got brainwashed by you lot and required a specialized recovery program along with extensive therapy. That excuses the personality change and sudden cooperation. UA can't do shit about it, even with their PR influence, they let the kid get kidnapped twice and the public is already upset with how they’ve handled him."
Hawks' gaze turns bitter and his voice is near venomous.
"The Commissions’ already got a new name picked out for him and everything. ‘Firecracker’ because they thought it'd ‘create positive associations’ and ‘make him more marketable to children’."
Both of them need a moment after that. Dabi looks away, furious now. Hawks takes a deep breath and gives him a watery grin of helplessness.
"Like I said, I could get the kid out of here, but I can't save him."
Dabi takes a deep breath too. Then another. His anger focuses, turning from unfiltered rage to a targeted fury. He knows what Hawks was saying now. Knows just how this story goes. How it’s already gone. But things are not the same as they were back then, and Dabi is sick of this fucking story.
"Alright. So, the kid can't go back until those fucks are out of the way. We're sitting on the roof of a fucking villain organization that's already trying to bring down the government. I'm one of it's fucking commanders. That’s not a problem. Or at least it won’t be for very long."
For the first time since he got the orders, hope sparks in Hawks' chest, and it's his turn to be wide eyed. If it was anyone else- anyone in the fucking world, there’d be no way. But this isn’t just anyone. This is Dabi. This is Touya. But doubt still taints his voice.
"I- It's not just one person. It's dozens and dozens, and they're all heavily protected.”
"So? We aren't one person either. There's a whole damn army here waiting to go."
Hawks bites his lip, but the hope only grows stronger. He used to have dreams of getting free. Of ending the people who trapped him here. It’d been a long time since he had those dreams. They’d been foolish, he had no where else to go but his pretty gilded cage. Nobody to turn to. No help, no savior. But that wasn’t true, maybe it never really had been. He’d gotten a feeling that someone had been bailing him out when he’d almost slipped up a few times as a double agent. Maybe someone had been.
"Will the kid be safe here in the meantime? This won't happen quickly. Even with all the resources in the world."
Dabi considers it, well and truly, before he nods firmly.
"Yeah, it'll be a pain to actually keep him here. Word going around is that he's a little escape artist. But Tomura's not gonna hurt him, he’s given a standing no harm order and nobody around here’s stupid enough to go against that. I'll keep my eye on him too. Just in case."
Then he pauses, plans taking shape in his head, growing and spinning, forming more completely.
"All we'll need from you is names and faces. We need to know who needs to go."
It's terrifying, it’s the wrong choice, it’s a stupid idea, but Hawks nods in agreement after a few seconds of internal debate. He wouldn't under any other circumstances- but fuck. He can't let them do what they did to him to someone else. He just can't. Hawks wants out of his cage, and he sure as fuck isn’t letting them drag another kid into it.
“I- I can do that. Give me a day to get everything together, I don’t know all the names, but I can get code names if nothing else.”
Dabi nods once more to affirm the plan, and the two of them sit in silence for a few more heartbeats, unsaid word lingering between them. It's Dabi who breaks the silence, an uncharacteristic softness to his voice.
"God, I can't believe you finally find out my name, and what, fucking five minutes later we're already back on our bullshit."
Hawks laughs, but this time it's light and childish like it used to be. Like it should be. He kicks his legs out, stretching out his wings behind him.
"What can I say? There was a reason the Commission hated it when I hung out with you, isn't that right Touya?"
It brings back memories Dabi had been suppressing for months now, pretending that they meant nothing to him, even as he let Hawks into the league, covered for him, erased camera footage and lied to protect him. He can't help but laugh too. His laugh is raspy from years of smoke and burned lungs. Hawks can’t help but take joy in hearing it again.
"I supposed so. You really haven't changed at all Keigo."
It's the first time in nearly 10 years Hawks heard that name, and it makes him grin ear to ear, silly and open and feeling comfortable like he hasn't since the last time he was called that. The last time he was Keigo.
Dabi takes another deep breath in and then twists to hop back onto the main part of the roof, pausing to meet Hawks' eyes with a long lost mischievous grin on his face.
"Come on slowpoke, we've got shit to do."
It’s not the first time he’s been called that. It’s the first time in a long time, but it’s just like every time before.
Just like every time before, Hawks' wings flutter in indignation (Touya was the only one who ever called him that, because he thought it was ever so funny how affronted Keigo got, so much so that no matter how fast he got, Touya refused to let it drop).
“You are the worst.”
Hawks grumbled, rolling his eyes as he hopped to his feet, snagging Dabi's hand to tug him back towards the door. Dabi is laughing at him again, but Hawks can't find it in himself to be actually annoyed.
How could he be? For the first time in too many years, he had his Touya back with him. He was allowed to be Keigo again, even if it was only for a short period. And for once, he had a feeling that things might be okay after all.

Randomly thought of but MHA except Bakugou’s hatred for Deku isnt because he’s quirkless. Bakugou doesn’t hate or is prejudice towards quirkless people, he hates weak people
AU where Bakugou is still somewhat the same as in canon but his feelings and thoughts come from a different mindset
Growing up his parents taught him that a quirk doesn’t make a person stronger, the person makes a quirk strong
This leads him to train in not only with his quirk but also in various areas that could potentially come up during hero work (lock picking, reading body language, shit like that) bc if he’s weak then so is his quirk
If you’re wondering how a child is learning all of this, this is Bakugou-fucking-Katsuki. If he wants something, he’s gonna get it even if it means he has to go through hell.
Luckily in this AU, his parents aren’t neglectful or shitty!! they indulged in his whims more of them than not!!
They’re both famous fashion designers and have a lot of connections when it comes to ‘high end society’ so if katsuki wants to learn how to dress to kill or something like that, they already have it set up for him!
The Bakugou’s teach their little victory all of their tricks and tips about how to theoretically make clothes that have extra space for weapons (they know his desire to be a hero and while they’re a little worried they’re just happy he’s being prepared for the long run.) They don’t actually make clothes for him to hide weapons, they verbally tell him how to do something and tips but they leave it up to him to complete the task to a proficient level
They also let their coworkers teach Bakugou stuff, anything their kid would find important or somewhat interesting (taking pictures is boring but learning how to take clear pictures of a loving target is interesting)
Many models, photographers and people who know the Bakugous have basically adopted Katsuki as their feral child since many of them are unable to have their own kids due to their work
Now, Bakugou has learned things about body language (how to read it), how to fake his confidence, sewing, stitching, how to dress for any situation, etc from his parents and their coworkers
However while those skills are important for him (he has a plan to be the best and he can’t be the best if he’s lacking in skills) he needs to know how to fight hand to hand without a quirk or how to pick locks or how to pickpocket (who knows, maybe he’ll have to steal something from a villain!!)
He doesn’t tell his parents what his specific plans are but he does tell him he’s gonna do training on his own
Now normal parents would be worried but for the sake of the AU let’s just say that katsuki’s parents work on the mentality that ‘their child is strong and even if he gets knocked down, he’ll be right back up. He’s a Bakugou.’
Bakugou’s never give up, it’s not in their blood to give up.
So, Bakugou, feral child, goes off on his own to experience a real fight with people who won’t care if they hurt him or to find someone to teach him how to pick a lock or pickpocket
Most of the adults he’s met are just amused by this kid so they too indulge him and his demands
Especially those who spar with him, Bakugou has made it clear that if he feels like they’re holding back he’ll make it so they can’t afford to anymore
(Yes this isn’t always a good thing but what matters is that he’s survived and somewhat friends with a bunch of shady people)
(They’ll tell you that they’re friends, Bakugou thinks that they’re worthy opponents)
Now this leads me to his relationship with deku
Originally he didn’t actually hate Deku when it’s announced that he’s quirkless, why would he? The nerd just has to get strong and it’ll be fine!
Deku isnt weak because he doesn’t have a quirk just like how Bakugou isn’t strong just because he has a quirk
That mentality lasts for 3 seconds
he starts to hate how the green boy lets that determine his future of being a hero or not
Deku being quirkless isn’t a problem. Deku allowing himself to be weak because he’s quirkless is a problem.
He just gets so frustrated with deku that he eventually just pulls away. He doesn’t want to hang out with someone who doesn’t work towards a goal, blood, sweat, tears and all that.
Deku wanting to be a hero is funny to Bakugou because deku is weak, the nerd let’s people step all over him especially Bakugou
To Bakugou, if deku just stood up for himself for once then he’d respect him
For obvious reasons, Midoriya does not know this and everyone including him assumes Bakugou just hates him because he’s quirkless
(The only exceptions is Bakugou’s parents because they have the same mindset and Inko because her and Mitski are best friends so she’s more than aware of their thought process)
For reasons, Bakugou’s ‘bullying’ is more like taunts and if he does use his quirk he never directly harms Midoriya (he just wants to push the kid to act not kill him) this also means he never tells deku to kill himself
Midoriya firmly believes Bakugou hates him and acts more or less the same as he does in canon
However he doesn’t see how the blonde will text inko to let her know when Midoriya is having a really bad day or how Bakugou wards off students who want to seriously harm him
Is this an excuse to write about Bakugou acting as a ‘reluctant older sibling who just wants the best for the younger but doesn’t know how to verbalize it so their actions come off as bullying or the likes’ and Midoriya being the ‘younger sibling who is terrified of their older sibling but still admires them greatly yet will never say that out loud because they’re convinced said older sibling hates them’? Maybe
Needless to say, this leads to an interesting conversation when the topic of quirkless people comes up during class
Bakugou scowls as he feels his classmates’ stares burn into his skull. He turns around with sneer, his palms popping. “What?” He manages to ask through gritted teeth. All without blowing up too.
His dad is gonna be so proud.
“W-well..” Shitty hair stammers, looking uncomfortable as he shifts in his chair. (The only reason why he doesn’t immediately get blown up is because Bakugou likes him. He’s man enough to admit he’s got a crush but like hell is he gonna do anything about. What he’s not gonna do though? Blow up said crush.)
“Y’know how you are!” Dunce Face blurts out, Tape Face elbowing his stomach harshly as Pinky hisses a not so quiet ‘not cool dude!’ . Now the others are exchanging shifty glances and from how reluctant they are to meet his eyes, he already has a good idea what this is about.
“Yeah yknow we’re just
“Yeah?” His eyes narrow with disdain as his ugly scowl softens into a calculating frown and he tilts his head just slightly. His arms crossed across his chest while he forces his body to relax. It takes just a few seconds but his aura changes from the ‘typical bad boy delinquent’ vibe he usually has going on and turns into something much more. It works wonders and he has a brief flashback from a conversation he had as a kid.
“You want to be intimadating? Don’t shout, don’t fire off your explosions, don’t give any reaction. Be cold, be caculating. Be dangerous little one. Being quiet is the most dangerous one can get.”
He has the electric blonde pinned under his look and faintly he can hear a ‘oh shit’ from a few seats away. He knows what he looks like, practiced the fuck out of this particular stare that a Russian model taught him all those years ago when he went on a fashion trip with his parents.
“I’ll teach you how to be scary little firecracker. Make us proud, you’re our little victory.”
Models, he muses privately as he watches the boy sweat bullets, are as dangerous as they are pretty. It takes a few moments of tense silence before someone eventually breaks and unsurprisingly it’s fucking half-n-half. He doesn’t have a real issue with daddy issues but he’s got a bone to pick with the tea kettle lover after the whole incident at the sports festival. The thought of fighting him is enough to get his blood going.
“They thought you’d hate quirkless people.” Hot Water fucker says, face void of any emotion and voice monotone. Ever since being friends with the nerd, IcyHot has gotten a lot better at speaking up when normally he’d just ignore everything. (Now if only shitty deku could pound some emotion that’d be great.)
Even though he’d expect it, he can’t help but laugh.“Why would I hate quirkless people?” He questions, raising a perfect brow. He drops his arms, an elbow perched up on Midoriya’s desk as his cheek rests on his open palm. He watches them falter, hesitation in their eyes. He decides to add fuel to fire, “One of my favorite people in this world is quirkless. She works for my parents as a secretary, I visit her every time I go.”
He doesn’t bother to listen to the responses, snapping his head and making direct eye contact with the nerd. “I hate people who have potential but let others tell them where they belong. It’s pathetic and sad. They should go get some fucking dignity, you think having a quirk is any better than not having one? It’s like having an arm, it’s the norm but if you don’t got it doesn’t mean you’re broken.” His words come out even despite the frustration building under his skin, he sees how Deku’s eyes widen in some kind of realization so he forces himself to pull his gaze away before landing onto Pony Tail. He doesn’t have an issue with her and actually likes her a lot better than the others but her confidence is so low it offends him, especially since he sees her as an opponent. Her eyes grow big and he can tell she’s nervous but before he can change his mind, his mouth opens. Oops.
The idiots practically brought this upon themselves. Reap what you sow dumbasses.
He just goes off and everyone is just stunned because they had this idea of him but that completely crumbled as soon as he started to reveal some of his thoughts and opinions
(Kirishima always kinda knew Bakugou was like this just bc I say so)
I know where this was going but now I do not lmao
Anyways he said his peace and it’s all quiet as people take in what he said and Ofc mineta decides to say something
“I don’t wanna hear that from a villain!” The diaper baby shrieks loudly, the grape fucker’s finger shaking as he points at him. Now usually, Bakugou has no problem with blasting the little pervert and calling it a day but he’s not quite done giving the literal talk down of a century just yet.
“Listen here you sex offender in training” He sneers and he takes great pleasure in seeing the other tremble in fear. “Wanna know why people shut the fuck up when I talk? Why people bother to take my advice? Why compared to me, you’re just a coward that no one besides the class’s resident sunshine trio will ever look at twice?” He asks, getting up slowly. No one stops him as he takes a step forward.
“Because I say actually fucking matters.” Step. “What I say is based off of experience and talent.” Step. “If you’re lucky then maybe the shit you spew will be worth something because it’s not worth anything here.” He finally makes it to his desk, towering over the other.
“You don’t like what I gotta say? Deal with it. I’ll continue to talk my shit to everyone and anyone because I can back it up. Can you? You fought any villains recently like teach over there? You go through some sudden growth and expand your moral compass like glasses? You fight and protect a little girl from the yakuza recently like Deku and Shitty hair? How bout deal with a shitty dad or shitty parenrs like IcyHot and Eyebags? What? Piss baby too scared now? Yeah, where were you when we were fighting for our lives? Were you there when Pikachu and Tape Face and Racoon Eyes fought against the villains in USJ?” He questions but everyone knows he’s not asking for an answer. “You there when birdbrain almost got kidnapped? You there when I got kidnapped? No? Then do everyone a fucking favor and shut the fuck up or I swear to whatever god you believe in, I’ll shove my fist down your throat and into your pathetic body and explode you so badly they’ll be scrapping off your guts for days.”
Needless to say, it was an interesting class

Todoroki’s Relationships Analysis Part 7: Chapter 169-now. Culture Fest, Pro Hero, JTA, MLA & Winter Internship arcs.
(SPOILERS TO NOW)
Culture Festival Arc
The new, party person post retake arc Shoto
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shoto’s retake course has helped to change his perspective on things a little, and understand the value of fun a little bit more (which is what this arc is all about)
Tumblr media
He remains critical towards Bakugou here, though Katsuki definitely starts it.
Tumblr media
Or more accurately, the rest of the school starts it by acting like Class A asked to get attacked by crazy supervillains. Bakugou initially in this scene seems like he’s being a jerk, but he’s actually having one of his moments of kindness and empathy, as he defends his classmates from the rest of the school, and Shoto stops criticizing him once that lands.
Tumblr media
Shoto spends most of the CF arc hanging around twith this group, whom he mostly gets along with on the level of fairly normal friendship, so there isn’t much to say about these scenes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see Shoto to be the most concerned classmate about Deku’s wellbeing, probably because he’s learned by this point that an unavailable Midoriya probably means he’s breaking his body in two.
Tumblr media
He watches Izuku getting scolded by the teachers.
Tumblr media
And hangs out with Iida during the Culture Fest event itself. (Iida is the universal bro)
Culture Fest Shoto is still fairly quiet, but much more sociable than before. He suggests throwing a big party for the school, which should probably tell you that he’s a very different kid from the start of the year.
Pro Hero Arc
This arc is mostly about Shoto’s relationship with his dad, though we get a quick glimpse of his classmates looking after him when the fight plays on TV.
Tumblr media
Four classmates are specifically watching Shoto. Now, while Kiri and Shoto do have a friendship, Kiri is generally the “glue that holds the class together”, so essentially, he was written to be the kid who always looks after his teammates. The other 3 are Shoto’s 3 main ships: Bakugou, Deku, and Momo.
Tumblr media
Though just about everyone comes over to him afterwards.
Tumblr media
Included because how can you not.
joint Training Arc
Tumblr media
Sero and Shoto sure have come a long way since “nice try” huh? And yes, Earlyroki is the phrase I want to use too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shoto is focused on watching Yaoyorozu’s fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He showcases some understanding of Momo’s tactical expertise and confidence in her ability to win. He believes that only a total assault on her could have been sufficient to actually defeat Momo.
Tumblr media
He looks worried for Momo after she loses and states firmly that he “hopes she doesn’t get all discouraged again”, recalling her previous sadness and worrying for her in the future.
Tumblr media
We see a moment of Todoroki and Bakugou being on the same wavelength here, as following the above panel Shoto immediately does just that.
Tumblr media
Tetsutetsu pushes Todoroki to the point where he has to use way too much firepower. However, his team still loses/ties.
Tumblr media
He has a Deku-like moment and this triggers his actions in the next arc (tears at BabyTodo in the left hand panel.)
Tumblr media
This is his reaction to BlackWhip. He goes over to Deku after the JTA is over and after Deku’s training session with Bakugou and All Might and asks him directly, indicating he thinks Izuku has two powers.
Tumblr media
Clearly, Shoto felt a bit betrayed that Deku asked him to go all out but was apparently holding back himself. I wish we could’ve had Shoto’s thoughts while the whole thing was going on.
Tumblr media
He instantly believes Midoriya and doesn’t think to question this strange development. He compliments him as well, showing that Deku has joined Momo and Kacchan’s ranks as someone Shoto admires. Deku shoots right back at him.
Tumblr media
Shoto, having tied while Deku and Kacchan, his two Official Rivals, both won with a complete knockout, obviously feels like they’ve surpassed him. This is, basically, his equivalent (though less angsty) to Bakugou at the end of the PLE arc, feeling completely surpassed by everyone.
The Joint Training arc sees, to Shoto, his classmates surpassing him, and spurs him to decide and seek out Endeavor as a Utility. We see his admiration for Momo, Kacchan and Izuku on full display.
MLA Arc
Tumblr media
Newly minted Licensed heroes Todoroki and Bakugou are here to save the day Together!
Tumblr media
They’re referring to each other as “we” and working together to end the villains.
Tumblr media
Shoto’s showing concern for Kacchan, who as usual takes all concern for his wellbeing as an insult. (and as usual makes everything about Deku. Holy crap, was that really as powerful as the Sports Fest move?!?! They’ll have to bust out some sick animation for that).
Winter Internship Arc (up to present chapter, Chapter 250)
Tumblr media
So Todoroki and Kacchan work together well. Are they friends? What does Shoto think of their relationship? His self-definition is that they get along well.
Tumblr media
Todoroki apparently defines friendship as “spending a lot of time together”. Bakugou objects to this. Todoroki basically calmly insists that they get along anyway.
Tumblr media
Shoto’s motto of heroism here is that he wants “to put others at ease’. We’ve got his manifesto as to heroism laid out here.
Tumblr media
This is funny, yes, but also kinda heartbreaking. Shoto is incredibly awkward in his interview and doesn’t seem to understand that he’s being flirted with. It’s possible he doesn’t have much conception of what romance, flirtation and attraction even are. This is a facet I’d like to see explored more in shipping fics, actually, because any idea of Shoto as some smooth charmer with great flirting skills should be heavily dispelled by this instance.
Tumblr media
Although he’s talking about his dad here, the words could just as easily apply to Midoriya.
Tumblr media
Shoto instantly apologies to Katsuki, taking it as his fault that Bakugou was cut, because he’s not socially adept enough to get that Bakugou’s behavior is inappropriate. While one doesn’t have to, you could take Bakugou’s reply as him relieving Shoto of feeling guilty by telling him it wasn’t his fault. Just in Bakugou-speak.
Tumblr media
Deku’s 3 most popular ships watch him try and conquer his quirk. Or is this in his head?
Tumblr media
Some nervous solidarity between Shoto and Izuku, + bonus Jealous Bakugou.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ChristmasTodo notices Bakugou feeling down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And immediately offers him and Deku internship jobs with the #1. Shoto’s motives her deserve some consideration. He states later on that he sees Endeavor, as far as regards his career as a pro, in a utilitarian manner. He views him as a means to an end for success (outside of their past and family drama, obviously). So Shoto is, essentially, offering Deku and Kacchan the best possible internship opportunity he can, even though it involves asking his old man for a favor. That’s some serious supportive friendship power right there.
Tumblr media
Endeavor complains about having to teach all 3 but Shoto shuts him down quickly.
Tumblr media
He agrees with Bakugou that Endeavor’s dismissive attitude is not what they signed on for or what he promised Kacchan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Todo and Kacchan are again on the same wavelength here and act like they both find Deku’s constant chatter annoying.
Tumblr media
In his big speech to Endeavor, he states that “competing with these guys” before correcting himself and trying to include the rest of his classmates in that estimation. But he ca’t take back that initial impulse. Deku and Kacchan are placed first in his estimation. They are the first ones he thinks of. And both, as well. It’s  very clear that Deku and Kacchan (Twin Stars of class A indeed) changed his life. Thinking about it too...he didn’t immediately use fire after his match with Deku. It wasn’t until he hurt Bakugou by holding back and lost hte match that he really started to change.
Tumblr media
“IN front of my friends”. Shoto again points out that he came her to use Endeavor, regardless of feelings. He insists on being treated the same as Deku and Kacchan, and tells Endeavor not to pretend to be dadlike to him in front of them. This impulse is interesting too. He doesn’t wish to present any kind of lie to these two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shoto pays a lot of attention to Kacchan and actually smiles when Bakugou calls Endeavor’s power a “rip-off” of Bakugou’s own explosion quirk. I guess he likes the chance to insult dear ol dad.
Tumblr media
When Deku and Kacchan are both in a bad mood, Shoto plays supportive cheerleader.
Tumblr media
He’s totally cool with the invitation.
Tumblr media
He shows again some understand of (and criticism of) Deku.
Tumblr media
This is where Todoroki comes to understand that Katsuki knows about his situation with Endeavor. Interestingly enough, while Deku is the one he told, he hasn’t shown any inclination to add more to that knowledge since the Sports Festival.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deku shows some incredible understanding of Shoto’s mind here and supports his decision with Endeav either way. Shoto’s expression is astonished, as if he had never thought of his situation this way before.
Tumblr media
He immediately opens up to Deku and Kacchan about Toya with Fuyumi’s help; once again, both know Shoto’s backstory.
Tumblr media
He also reaches out to get the recipe from Fuyumi to give to Bakugou. Always the caring, considerate friend.
Tumblr media
Presumably she doesn’t thank Bakugou too because he keeps insisting he totally isn’t friends with Shoto. Shoto looks so adorably embarassed here.
Tumblr media
He’s solicited as a study buddy for Deku, and for now (until Friday) this is where we leave them. Jumping forward to save Natsuo.
So this retrospective on Todoroki’s relationships - Todoroki’s relationships only, from his POV alone - was interesting. And very informative, as it changed my perspective on Shoto’s character dynamics a lot. I hope you enjoyed, and let me know if there are any other characters you want me to do a Relationships retrospective on in the future.

the four times she saw him and the one time he saw her |k. bakugou|
|pairing: katsuki bakugou x f!reader, shoto todoroki x f!reader|
warnings: angst, swearing, bakugou, death
|also available on ao3|
|begin reading under the cut|
The first time she saw him, he was in the strict confines of the slim monster. She had watched as he fought against the monster with such vigor and listened as he screamed at the boy, who quite honestly looked like a piece of broccoli had fallen on his head, that had launched himself towards the villain. She had originally been passing by and she didn’t leave until after the slim victim had left, watching as he stomped passed her, his spiky ash-blond hair bouncing with every stomp. Just before he had passed, she caught a look at his vermillion eyes, staring straight at him, though he didn’t seem to notice her, too lost in his own world. From that moment, she had vowed to herself, if the broccoli boy could jump out like that, and the blond kid could stay brave during all of that, then she could too. Maybe, she could be a hero too. When she saw them, two boys her age, being heroes, it made her dream all the more realistic.
The next time she had seen him, was at the UA entrance exam assembly. She had spotted him, along with the green boy, whom she firmly concluded must have been his best friend, 2 rows above him and several seats away. For a few moments, she had stared at the duo before turning away, a new swell of determination lighting inside of her. When the applicants were split apart into different arenas, somehow, both the mysterious slim victim, who she now knew as Bakugou Katsuki and herself were in the same arena. Once the exam started though, she had long forgotten about the bakugou boy and set off to annihilating robots left and right, using her psychokinesis to deform robots and immobilize them. Though, she hadn’t forgotten him for long as his explosions very much drew attention to him. Soon, she had found herself in the same area, her back to the explosive blond, bending and twisting robots as more were blown up behind her. A shout of warning had her turning her head, watching as the giant 0 pointer robot’s foot hovered over Bakugou, who was still busy blasting robots and not paying any attention. Moving quickly, she slid over and activated her quirk holding up the robot’s foot, slowly levitating the robot off of the ground completely. Swinging it off in a direction far from everyone else, the alarm went off, signaling the exam was over. Panting, your shoulders drooped as you got congratulatory claps on the back and murmurs of praise, though the one you wished would pay you some kind of mind walked away without a word nor a glance back. With a hum, you decided, he would be your inspiration. You would be accepted into UA High School and you would make him notice you, even if it killed you. After all, you strived for validation, and for some reason, this boy, someone who really shouldn’t have mattered much to you, wouldn’t even notice you.
There had been numerous times after that in which you saw Bakugou (and came to the unfortunate conclusion that he and the broccoli boy were NOT best friends) around the school, the both of you having made it into UA and made it into the same class no less. You watched as he was engulfed in the portal made by Kurogiri, a puppet in the League of Villains, in the JSU, yourself being thrown into the same area as Denki Kaminari, a boy with an electric quirk a misfortunate case of the “wheeey” after overuse, Jirou Kyoka, a rocking girl with an awesome hearing quirk and even better music taste, and Momo Yaoyorozu, one of the most brilliant rich kids you’d ever met with a mindblowing quirk.
You were there to witness Bakugou’s fight against Uraraka Ochako, a sweet girl with a gravity quirk. Though you couldn’t afford to pay too much attention, as you had your own matches to prepare for. You had gone against Kaminari. Before he could activate his quirk you had already run forward and gave him a flying kick to the head, effectively knocking him out (and breaking his nose). When you saw all of the blood and his deformed nose you nearly cried before picking him up and meeting the stretcher halfway, mumbling apologizes to the unconscious boy. Your next opponent was Iida Tenya, who you had managed to mislead into stepping out of bounds. Mislead being used very loosely. You had merely planted the suggestion into his head before time with the activation words being “Good Luck Class Rep!” which you had just so happened to murmur as he raced towards you. The fact that you had sidestepped and allowed him to race a crossed the boundary line before the match really started was really just instinct after all. Once your dear Class Rep had collided with the wall though, your little suggestion had managed to leave his mind just in time to hear the words “(Y/N) (L/N) Advances to the next round!”. You had given a small glance up towards the Class 1-A bleachers to see your classmates bewildered expression, looking between you and Iida. You walked over to Iida and offered your hand to him, “Hey Class Rep, sorry about that. My quirk isn’t all that suited well for sports festivals and especially fast quirks like yourself. We’ll have a real fight one day. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford for it to be today. Sorry” you had said before giving him a sunny smile. After that you both agreed to a rematch at a later date, walking back down your separate tunnels listening to Mic’s echoing words, “Wow, when is that student of yours actually gonna whip out her quirk Eraserhead?! It’s almost hard to believe she’s in the hero course if it wasn’t for that sunny smile of hers!” followed quickly by a loud “OW!” For the next round, which would be against Shoto Todoroki, a peppermint boy with a half cold and apparently half hot quirk. He was deemed Bakugou’s true rival, the only person he deemed as his equal. And she hated him for it. The peppermint head was a rich kid with an overpowered quirk that had everything handed to him on a silver platter. She couldn’t locate him before the match had begun so unfortunately, she couldn’t pull the same trick twice in a row (Iida had most likely warned him to steer clear of her after their match) but she always had a second blade to rely on, or rather a backup. And a backup’s backup. and several other tricks up her sleeves. Besides, she didn’t want to pull any dirty tricks, she wanted to prove to him what she was made of. She wasn’t going to be known throughout her school career as the weak girl with awesome luck and a sunshine smile. She was going to be known as the girl that could hold her own, the girl that could save everyone with a smile and be known as strong and confident, as powerful and not to be messed with.
Walking into the ring she gave a sweet and innocent smile to Todoroki and Midnight with a kawaii peace sign and a close eyed smile. She could see Todoroki narrow his eyes at her in suspicion, Present Mic introducing them in the background. “First entering the ring, we have Todoroki Shoto, the guy that left quite a cool impression on us in his first match, though it seems he can handle the heat in the kitchen!” Mic introduced, quite lamely, even I had to give a minor cringe in sympathy for the deadpanned boy. “And his opponent, (L/N) (Y/N), the sunflower that at this point I’m pretty sure has to be quirkless because we haven’t seen a single hint of a quirk yet, enters the arena on the opposite side! Boys, Girls, and Heroes of all ages, I don’t know about you but I’ve got a feeling this match will be over very quickly.” Mic droned on, causing me to clench my jaw before quickly relaxing.  “Good Luck Todoroki-kun! May the best man win!” I grinned brightly and held my hand out for a handshake, eyes gleaming. Todoroki narrowed his eyes as he looked down at my hand with distaste, before looking back up at me with a blank expression. Giving a pout I put my hand back down to my side as Mic gave an “Oh that’s just... cold todoroki!” in the background. Midnight gave a sweatdrop before taking a step back. “Uh, with that, let the match begin!” She declared waving her whip before backing out of the ring. “It’s a real shame you didn’t shake my hand, Todoroki-Kun, maybe if you had, you could’ve walked out of the ring uninjured and safely,” I said innocently, with a small smile. His eyes widened as I lifted my head with a shadow over my eyes, my arm raising ready to use my psychokinesis to throw him out of the ring. Immediately he stomped his foot and shards of ice came at me at a high speed. Moving quickly, I dove out of the way and tugged the zipper of my shirt down just a bit, deciding if the match lasted that long, I would use Uraraka’s ruse to distract Todoroki. Ice isle after ice isle came up, leaving very minimal room to maneuver in between. “Oh, Todoroki-Kun, trying to keep me at a distance are we?” I asked lightly, though an underlying menacing tone could be heard if you listened closely enough. Unfortunately, Todoroki was. Kicking between ice pillars I quickly managed to scale to the top of one without him noticing. I watched from the top of a pillar where everyone but he could see me, as his head darted around looking for me. Flicking my wrist to the pillar directly a crossed from me, I made it fall with a loud crumble. He whirled around to face the fallen, and now crushed, ice. Flicking both of my wrists to pillars beside the first one, I made those fall as well. I watched as he began to circle slowly, still looking low. “Where are you?” He yelled, his left hand flickering with a flame. Closing my eyes I leaned forward slightly, trying to delve into his mind. Opening my eyes, they now glowed a bright yellow. Using my quirk to a deeper sense, I created an image within his mind of me behind him. Image-Me tapped him on the shoulder “here I am!” she said with a grin. He whirled around and Image-Me disappeared. Once she disappeared I knocked down more pillars as I slid down to the edge of the pillar I stood on quietly. His left hand grew hotter as more pillars fell. Soon, mine was the only one left. “Oh, Todoroki-Kun!” I called teasingly, my foot dangling over the edge of the pillar. He looked around before finally looking up. “look above and beyond, Plus Ultra!” I cheered and pumped a fist before standing up and diving off of the high pillar towards him. Several screams were heard as I plummetted. A bed of Ice was coming up to meet me, though I activated my quirk once more, plowing through the ice as I finally hit the ground. Standing up I wipe off some of the new snow from my sleeve. “Looks like you found me Todoroki-Kun!” I giggled. He narrowed his eyes as me and shot a pillar of ice at me once more, disturbing the snow around us, causing it to fly up. It served the perfect distraction. Moving quickly I shed my UA gym jacket and levitated it to hold form in my previous position as I took advantage of my new stealth, running low to the ground as I ran around him, watching as he swatted at the snow. I now stood behind him in my sports bra and gym pants and watched as he made a frozen pillar encase my jacket. I ran up behind him and took him to the ground as he gave a growl at my use of Uraraka’s trick. “Gotcha!” I cheered, though my victory didn’t last long as another pillar of ice threw me off and against the other chunk of ice holding my jacket hostage. Now I had a piece of ice holding me against another piece of ice and it was pressing even closer by the second. I gave a shriek from the cold and tried to wiggle out but that seemed to make the space even tighter. “You didn’t think I saw your jacket unzipped when you got to the ground, nor did I see you run by me, but I did. I’ll admit, this match went on longer than I hoped it would, but now I’ve got you. I do believe you should be forfeiting before you get an even worse case of frostbite then you already have.” He said, crossing his arms as he stared me down. Clenching my jaw I shook my head. Attempting to activate my quirk once more, despite my now horrible headache, I said, “Maybe you should forfeit instead,” though it wasn’t working very well because my jaw was chattering every other syllable. Todoroki shook his head before looking over at Midnight. “I don’t think she can move anymore,” he told her, though the ice patches on his cheek and arm were enough to tell me that I had done a decent enough job. He was right, after all, this match had gone on much longer than either of us anticipated. “Um.. (L/N) (Y/N) is unable to continue the match! Todoroki Wins!” She announced. Todoroki walked over to me and raised his left hand and began to melt the ice around me. Soon, I was soaked completely and shaking like a leaf on a windy day. Todoroki looked down at my shivering form before picking me up, snatching up my jacket too. “What’s this?! Todoroki’s picking up (L/N) and walking out of the ring with her! Wow-what an unexpected twist!” Mic yelled in the background. Todoroki carried me to the infirmary in silence, dropped me off on a cot, and laid down on one himself. That was the end of that day.
Bakugou didn’t seem to notice me then either. Even more events happened after that too. We had internships, a summer camp that Bakugou got kidnapped at, we got our provisional licenses (except for Bakugou and Todoroki, along with Monoma in Class 1-B), Midoriya, Kirishima, Uraraka, Tsuyu, Tokoyami, and I all got to do work studies with Pro-heroes, I went on my first mission as part of Fatgum’s hero agency with Kirishima and one of the Big 3 Tamaki Amajiki, we had a school festival, and so much more! It was sometime after our mission to save a little girl named Eri that I had decided I would strive to be noticed by the furious porcupine of class A, not as much anymore. Once I had relaxed some, I found that I was able to open more doors for myself in more ways than one.
During your second year, you had begun to date your formal rival, Todoroki Shoto, which felt a bit odd to you in a sense of, “wow this feels like a fairy tale!” considering you had felt they went from strangers-enemies-friends-lovers. Dating Shoto was pleasant for both of you. You focused less on being noticed by Bakugou, Todoroki was able to piss off his father, you were able to piss off his father, and both of you were content with your relationship. It wasn’t completely public and you weren’t smothering each other, but you were perfectly content with it.
Soon, your second year passed into your third, you and Todoroki were still going strong, making Bakugou notice you had become a seesaw of “notice me senpai” and “Baku-who?” though the seesaw was old and rusted and children had long abandoned.
Graduation rolled around and many of your classmates were now aspiring sidekicks. You still worked at Fatgum’s agency with UA Alumni Tamaki Amajiki, though Kirishima had long left to join an agency more fitting for him. Shoto was now Endeavor’s sidekick, though you both knew that he was really training and watching to take over Endeavor’s agency. Bakugou had joined Endeavor’s agency along with Midoriya as sidekicks as well. Though it seemed that even though he worked alongside her boyfriend (not to mention they went to the same class together for 3 years) he still didn’t seem to notice her. When graduation arrived, the graduates of 3-A had all cheered, and the graduation party held in their old dorm rooms was a night none of them would soon forget. Especially because a certain half-and-half had gotten down on one knee and proposed to you. It was on that day, you had decided that you didn’t need anyone to notice you except for the man knelt down in front of you. You didn’t need anyone else’s validation anymore. You had finally given up on trying to make Bakugou Katsuki notice you.
Two years rolled on by, and your wedding was fast approaching. You and Todoroki had gotten a small apartment together, perfect for the two of you and you were finally at a place in time where you could have your long-awaited wedding at last. It wasn’t anything elaborate, you both had decided that big and elaborate would be too much for the both of you since you had both cooled down and mellowed a bit. Your wedding had consisted of a rather small alter in a snowy garden with a beautiful (wedding dress of your choosing) and simple (flowers of your choosing). You both had invited all of your Class A classmates, all of them coming to the wedding, though you had noted that it seemed the esteemed Bakusquad were all tipsy and their leader seemed less than happy to be there. Your co-workers at Fatgum’s agency and most of the Todoroki agency had come to the wedding as well. Your bridesmaids consisted of Ochako Uraraka, Jirou Kyoka, Hado Nejire, Tsu Asui, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Mina Ashido, with your maid of honor being Shoto’s sister, Fuyumi Todoroki. Shoto’s groomsmen consisted of Midoriya Izuku, Iida Tenya, Kirishima Eijirou, Inasa Yoarashi, and Bakugou Katsuki, with his best man being Natsuo Todoroki, his brother. The wedding had gone on peacefully, save for the shadow lurking in the corner with knotted and mangled purple skin and cerulean blue eyes that matched Enji Todoroki’s so much. Though no one had noticed him and he didn’t make himself outright known, having rathered just leave a wedding gift amongst the pile and watch on in the shadows. After the wedding, it was announced that you and Shoto would be having your first child, which sparked quite the response, Many were overjoyed (Fuyumi and Rei, Shoto’s mother, had actually cried), many were excited to be aunties and uncles, Shoto was even threatened by his former high school teacher, Aizawa Shota, that if he put so much as a toe out of line and you showed up at this doorstep crying in the rain at 3 in the morning again, he would see to it that this would be his first and last child. His reaction had been quite funny at the time, it was enough to keep you from noticing the small pops that came from Bakugou’s hands anyway.
After that life went on, 8 months passed and you had given birth to a set of twin boys, both of which looking very much like their father. Somehow, both had gotten the half and half hair, though your oldest son, Fuyuhito, was born with his left side of his hair being (your hair color) and the right side being white, much like his father. Your youngest son, however was born with his right side being (your hair color) and his left side being red. His name was Haru. All was good and well, your children were healthy and prosperous, Enji had finally retired leaving the agency in Shoto’s hands. You had gone on back to work after a few months of recuperation time and mother-sons bonding.
A year later, you were 6 weeks pregnant though only you, your husband, and your doctor was aware. You weren’t showing but you we’re ready to announce the news quite yet to announce to the world that you were expecting again.
Your day had started off normal, with some paperwork as per usual before you went on your patrol. As you were making your rounds, you had happened upon a fight between a rather familiar villain group and an even more familiar hero. Rushing forward you quickly threw Himiko Toga off of Bakugou Katsuki’s back before she could stab him.
“Need a hand?” You asked teasingly as you threw Toga back with you psychokinesis. Bakugou looked over at you with a sneer and gave you a backward shove.
“I’ve got this, get out of here!” he growled aiming an explosion at the group of villains. The man with the hands all over his body and the blue hair, known as Shigaraki Tomura, stepped forward.
“Lookie what we have here! If it isn’t your little sister-in-law! Ain't that right, Dabi?” Shigaraki teased. I furrowed my brow in confusion and Bakugou took a defensive step in front of me.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, narrowing my eyes stepping out from behind Bakugou.
“Well isn’t this a surprise. Well if your dear husband hasn’t told you then we won’t ruin the fun,” he snickered.
The tall man with the purple scars narrowed his eyes at Shigaraki and his hands lit ablaze with blue fire.
“The fuck are you, shitheads, yapping about?!” Bakugou snapped, shoving you behind him once more. Picking up his previous train of thought, he continued, “And your dumbass needs to get out of here. Half-and-Half told me about your...” he paused before he spat out almost angrily, “..condition.”
I gave a huff and hit the switch on the hip of my suit that would request back up to my location.
“oh? what’s this about a condition? Maybe you should tell us, (Pro-Hero name)!” Toga giggled as she pranced forward, though she didn’t get far before I pushed her back once more with my psychokinesis.
I kept quiet. The league taunted us so more, though Bakugou stayed glued in front of me, which was odd. I almost thought he was one of Twice’s tricks.
Soon though, they grew annoyed and the fighting commenced. Fire and explosions were everywhere. Blood was spilled and magic marbles were thrown and decayed. Chaos was all around you and still, it seemed backup had yet to arrive.
You had managed to injure Shigaraki and Toga, and Bakugou had knocked out Mr. Compress. All that was left was Spinner, the scaly lizard guy, and Dabi, though after seeing his teammates down and out, Spinner had collected them and darted out of there, leaving Dabi to deal with us.
You and Bakugou had become quite worn down by now. You guessed Dabi saw it was a golden opportunity to eliminate you.
He shot a stream of blue fire at Bakugou, though you had intercepted it, having pushed Bakugou out of the way, consequently getting yourself severely burned.
You screamed out in pain as I wreathed on the ground, the two males staring down at you in shock.
“Sh-she’s not going to make it” Dabi muttered shaking his head.
“It would be best to just go ahead and put her out of her misery. She’s already been burned too much. Call it your brother-in-law’s final act of mercy” Dabi said, taking a step toward you.
Bakugou blasted him to the other of the alley with a fitful scream.
“SHE WAS PREGNANT YOU ASSHOLE!” he screamed before he crawled over to you.
There were tears in his eyes as he pulled your burned body into his lap, holding your head up for you. Hands shaking he pulled out his transmitter and brought it to his lips, “We’ve got a hero down on (street and street number because I’m too tired to go find one). We need backup and an ambulance. I repeat we’ve got a hero down and we are requesting backup immediately!” he shouted, his hold on you tightening causing you to whimper.
“Bak-Bakugou” you whimpered as tears leaked out of your eyes. He immediately loosened his grip and put the transmitter down, full attention on you.
“Keep talking to me, (L/N)!” he grunted, tears falling down his own face.
“You-You knows, the reason I wanted to-to be a hero? It-It was because of-” she was cut off by a pained whimper and a cough that coated her hand with blood. “it was because of you” she finished, looking up at him with slowly unfocused eyes.
“I wanted you to not-notice me so badly. I handed my husband’s ass to him in our first year, our second year, and our third year. I worked so hard-so hard for you to see me as your equal. I told myself I would end up killing myself trying to get you to finally see me and I guess I was right.” You murmured ending it with a small laugh before erupting into more coughs.
Bakugou dipped his head as more tears flowed down his cheeks.
“Tell my boys I love ‘em, will you? And tell shoto I love him too” You said weakly slowly moving your head to rest on Bakugou’s chest, over his heart, which you could hear beating wildly.
“Tell me, have you noticed me yet, Kacchan?”
“You dumbass, I always noticed” Bakugou whimpered, pressing his face to your hair, pulling you close in a feeble attempt to give you some kind of comfort in your last moments.
As you close your eyes, you can see a blurry figure of red, white, and blue come running towards you screaming, though all you can muster is a hum as you shut your eyes, your chest rising and falling one last time.
You had spent most of your teenage years and your entire adulthood hoping that Bakugou would finally notice you.
Unfortunately for the both of you, he had noticed you first, all along.

Chapter Four- Recovery
Chapter One || Previous Chapter || Next Chapter || AO3
Tsukauchi POV
Tsukauchi grimaced, shifting slightly in his seat. They were all gathering in the meeting room to go over the report Orochi gave them.
Nedzu, All Might, and Midnight were there for UA. Plus, Endeavor and Hawks for the heroes and public safety commission. And, of course, the detectives on the case like him. It was slightly awkward to have Nighteye there as well since he and All Might were very pointedly not looking at each other.
Oh well, they could deal with their awkward breakup another time. Right now, he needed to go over the report.
“Thank you all for coming, I have Orochi’s analysis of the being known as Nomu here for us to go over.”
Tsukauchi swallowed and studied the crowd, they all seemed attentive.
“Alright. So first, they listed the likely quirks the Nomu had.”
“QuirkS?” questioned endeavor, leaning forward suddenly.
“Yes, quirks, it was reported that the Nomu had at least two. Though Orochi lists more. Now then,” Tsukauchi cleared his throat again, “Quirks, Regeneration and Shock Absorption, which we already knew about.”
“How was it defeated then!?” Called one of the detectives.
Looks like this would be slow going.
“I defeated it!” Boomed All Might.
“Yes, he did, now moving on. A speed quirk and strength quirk are also listed, apparently the muscle mass and physique of Nomu didn’t account for the strength and speed it displayed. So, it is extremely likely it had those as well.”
“Speed and strength and regeneration and shock absorption!?” Midnight said in shock.
“Then there was also a high likelihood of some sort of energizing quirk, based on how much energy and strength it had despite the beating it received. As well as something to enhance the regeneration, it worked to fast to be just a normal regeneration quirk apparently.”
“Oh wow,” muttered Hawks
“Then finally the last quirk that Orochi can confidently believe is there is some sort of mental quirk that connects Nomu to the villain in charge, Shigaraki. The explanation given is that the Nomu reacted to Shigaraki without him having to speak or make any kind of motion. It’s likely the Nomu is almost entirely brain dead and relies on orders from Shigaraki to act in any way.”
“That’s… bad.”
“An interesting situation,” murmured Nedzu, his eyes gleaming dangerously.
No doubt he had a dozen plans made for this now.
“The big threat I see,” Nedzu started to speak, “Is them either breaking this Nomu out, or them turning someone else into one. Plus, are these quirks natural? As in, were they somehow taken from someone? Or did they somehow figure out how to manufacture quirks?”
There was a beat of silence, Tsukauchi swallowed. That was…
“They found DNA from four different people in the make up of Nomu,” pointed out one of the detectives, “So it’s likely that they used… well… that they used people’s parts to make the Nomu. So probably natural quirks.”
Silence reigned again, that wasn’t much better.
“So basically, they tore people apart to make a super weapon?” Hawks questioned casually. But his wings were ruffled, and he was sitting straight in his chair.
“It appears so.”
“Did Orochi give any ideas for countering the Nomu? In case it escapes, or they happen to have another?”
Tsukauchi nodded. “Top suggestion, assuming it is this Nomu, or that any threat has the same quirks, would be to burn it. Burning it at high enough temperature will prevent regeneration. Assuming it doesn’t have some sort of fire-resistant quirk. Next best suggestion is to go for the head, brain or eyes, they’ll be the most vulnerable.”
“Lovely,” Endeavor grumbled, “Looks like I’ll be the one in charge if there’s another one of these.”
“Well, sounds fun,” Hawks smiled, “Hopefully there aren’t any more of these things though.”
“We all hope that.”
“What about the other villains we captured?” Midnight questioned.
“Ah, it appears the warp villain managed to get quite a few out before we could question them. We only managed to question a few before they were all gone.”
“They all escaped!?” All Might stared wide eyed.
“Yes. That warp villain, Kurogiri, might just be the most dangerous. We don’t know his limits. We sent another request to Orochi already to analysis him and Shigaraki, but apparently it’s not high priority or interest like the Nomu so it might be a bit till we get a full report.”
“Fuck. That’s not good.” The detective that said that sunk down in her seat.
“Did we learn anything before the escape?”
“The low-level villains knew basically nothing. They knew where to attack and had orders on what to do. But the whole plan just seemed to rely on the Nomu. Otherwise they were basically going in blind. One of them might have had better info, but unfortunately we don’t know.”
“Damn it.” Endeavor looked pissed.
“Well, if the villains are freed, what are we going to do? They might attack again!”
Nedzu frowned, “We are still planning on having the Sports Festival and-“
“You’re still planning on that festival when the villains just killed one of your students!?”
“Yes, it is important for both moral, and to show the villains they haven’t won. We are not ignoring our loss. We are not forgetting Mineta’s death. But we cannot put everything on hold. The police can help with security, and the festival itself will be filled with pros. It would be idiotic to attack, they’d be defeated in seconds.”
“Well… You’re not wrong there.” The detective frowned still.
Tsukauchi sighed, “It all seems to be in order at least. You’ll have to give us an outline of your security measures so we can be sure that they’re safe, but otherwise I’m sure the festival can continue.”
Nedzu nodded, “We will likely postpone it, I have to talk to the other teachers first. And we will need to discuss with class 1-A, they were the ones attacked and their opinions are important.”
“Makes sense.”
The other detectives murmured in agreement as well, seeming to accept this.
“How are the students?”
“We are giving them the week off, and all of them will be required to speak with Hound Dog when classes resume, a schedule for those meetings will be made during the teachers meeting after this. We take the safety and health of our students very seriously, you can rest assured that we won’t allow something like this to happen again.”
Tsukauchi hummed, “Will there be a press release?”
“Yes, one is scheduled for tomorrow.” Nedzu smiled politely, “If that is all?”
“Yeah, thanks for coming everyone, keep your eyes open. Catching those villains again is high priority, we need more information. Otherwise, stay safe, I’ll see you another time.”
And the meeting closed, the heroes and police drifting off.
Well, that wasn’t stressful at all.
Nedzu POV
The teachers filed into the room, Nedzu watching closely.
They had a lot to discuss.
“Okay, now that we’re all here, except Aizawa and Thirteen, we can begin.”
“How are Aizawa and Thirteen?” Questioned Mic immediately.
“They are both recovering well and should fully recovered within a month.
The teachers murmured, relieved and happy.
“Now then, we are all aware of the death of the student Mineta Minoru.”
The teachers grimaced, looking away.
“We will hold a memorial for him on Monday when Class 1-A resumes their classes. It is always a sad day to lose a student and we will mourn him appropriately.”
The other teachers nodded, gazes lowered, a kid so young… it was very sad.
“Class 1-A will be required to speak with Hound Dog. We’ll need to arrange a schedule. But Asui and Midoriya will be going first. They were the one’s to witness Mineta’s death.”
Mic grimaced, “That’s no good.”
Lunch Rush nodded, “Are they okay?”
“Midoriya had broken legs and but they were healed quickly and he’s in full health again. Asui was unharmed.”
They relaxed, “That’s good,” murmured Mic. “Poor little listeners.”
“Now then, we can arrange the schedule later, Aizawa will probably know best which students will need aid sooner.”
A general murmur of agreement moved the conversation onwards.
“Next up is the Sports Festival. I would like to have it.”
“Isn’t it dangerous?” Power Loader leaned forward, “It’ll a big event, the villains could try to slip in and cause trouble.”
“Yes, that’s true, but we must not let them believe us beaten. I think delaying it two weeks and increasing security will make it safe enough. Not to mention that the event will be filled with pros, anyone attacking would be handled quickly.”
Mic nodded, “That’s true.”
Lunch Rush sighed, “I just wish the kids hadn’t been put through that whole mess. Will they feel safe?”
“We will ask for their opinion.” Nedzu nodded firmly, “They can decide between three options, cancelling the Sports Festival entirely, letting it go on but them not participating, or it goes on with their full participation. We will not force them to participate if it makes their trauma worse.”
Midnight nodded, “The kids will hopefully have recovered a lot by that point. We’ll get them the help they need!”
“Are we going to increase security?” Asked Vlad King.
Recovery Girl nodded, “We need to make sure the students are completely safe!”
“I have had an idea for a while, but it would be best to put it into effect next semester, this one has already started.”
All Might leaned forward, “What idea?”
“Dorms. But as I said, the semester has already started. So we will add it next semester and can discuss it in more detail later on.”
Snipe sighed, “seems like the kids will be safe enough at least. What’s the worst that could happen between now and then?”
Katsuki POV
Katsuki punched the bag.
He was furious! He barely did anything and got put in danger. Worse than useless.
And that stupid Deku did more than him. How infuriating. Weak useless deku managed to help more than him.
And that villain, calling him names like that! Insulting him! The nerve! He acted like he was lecturing all of them. How dare he.
And Deku, did he think he was better than him? Just because he helped more? Well screw him, Bakugo would show him, Deku just needed to be put back in his place.
He punched the bag again with a cry.
He could do this. He was the best, no one could beat him. He’d be the greatest hero ever, even with this stupid villain attack, and their stupid classmate dy-dying. Nothing would stop him.
Shoto POV
Shoto sat silently in his room, reading through articles about the attack.
He had been there, but reading the official reports helped him figure everything out.
Like Mineta dying.
He hadn’t liked him, but dying… that was extreme.
He wished he’d been able to help.
And Midoriya and Asui…
They’d both seen it, been right there. It must have been traumatizing.
And his quirk, Shoto had thought so before, but seeing it now, it was so similar to All Might’s.
He wondered at the flinches the boy gave, the way he shied away from touch, jumped at loud noises, seemed to immediately obey All Might.
The quirk… the reactions… was Midoriya… Was he… was he All Might’s son?
It would make sense, their quirk is so similar, Midoriya emulates him, seeing them together, All Might’s quirk and Midoriya’s quirk. Maybe Midoriya isn’t good at using it yet? Like how his older brother could get burnt by his own flames?
Was All Might cruel to him for it? Shoto didn’t want to think so…. And yet. And yet Midoriya was so… nervous constantly. Always flinching, or moving away, stuttering. He seemed so afraid. Shoto had a feeling the two of them were the same.
All Might might be keeping his son hidden, but Shoto had discovered the truth.
He just wished it hadn’t cost a classmate their life.
Tsuyu POV
Tsu curled in her bed.
She was still shaking.
That villain, he’d killed Mineta without a second thought. Without hesitation.
And he’d called Midoriya Otouto?
Why? Why did he stop for Midoriya, but not for Mineta?
And all those lectures, and Mineta died, and he just acted like he was trying to teach all of them a lesson. But he kept looking at Midoriya.
And Mineta died.
Tsu needed to be there for Midoriya now. That villain knew him, Tsu was worried for him.
He definitely didn’t know the villain, and the villain’s reaction… he hadn’t expected Midoriya to be there either.
Tsu couldn’t understand, he knew Midoriya, those lectures about heroes, he’d acted like he was going to kill Midoriya at the end, but the look on his face, Tsu could just see it. It was focused, determined, but not blood thirsty like it was for All Might or Mineta.
It was… protective.
Otouto.
Who was Shigaraki Tomura?
Aizawa POV
Aizawa read through the report, the USJ incident was a wreck.
So many students endangered. And worse, one student dead.
And it was all his fault.
Damn it. He should’ve been able to protect them! But he’d failed.
That Nomu apparently almost beat All Might, which did help a little, Aizawa hadn’t stood a chance.
But still.
He read through the report. The injuries his students sustained, every scratch, every bruise, it was all his fault.
The single death.
He’d tried, oh he’d tried, tried so hard to save them. He thought he’d managed. He thought he’d succeeded. But Mineta was still killed.
Mineta was unpleasant, but Aizawa had had hopes of helping him, he had so much potential. And now he was dead. And it was Aizawa’s fault.
He wouldn’t let it happen again.
He would protect his students till the last breath left his body.
They wouldn’t have to be afraid like that again.
He glanced at the flowers, from All Might according to the note.
He sighed, going back to the report.
Midoriya was the worst injured of the students, but from his own quirk. According to the report, he’d probably saved All Might’s life.
He shouldn’t have had too, the student’s shouldn’t be the ones saving them.
He dropped his head back. He would train them hard, they would be the best, he wouldn’t let them slack.
His students were going to go through hell, but they would be the best of the best when they came out. And that was all that mattered.
Izuku POV
Izuku yawned, blinked the sleep out of his eyes.
He noticed his Nintendo on the bed and winced, realizing he’d fallen asleep playing his new Pokemon game. He’d only been raising the level and capturing new Pokemon, he’d head to the first gym later.
He had today off too. He actually had another two days after today too.
Today was focusing on fighting styles. He’d read up on some before, but now he was gonna find a focus.
He also needed to go over first aid more, so thank you dad for the helpful books, he’d definitely be using them.
Before he started he grabbed some food, then snagged the books, including his notebooks.
Researching fighting styles was nothing new, he’d done it loads of times in the past, and had considered some for him. But he’d just dropped them when he’d gained his new quirk.
Now he needed to get back to it.
Which started his hour-long research section where he arranged all his old notes in order, then added to it. Krav Maga was the one he’d practiced before, it worked best for him, especially when he was quirkless. Now he would have to adjust the style he’d been beginning to form to fit with his quirk too. But he could really work on that in class.
He was good at mimicking other fighting styles, he’d done it with Kacchan before. He could mimic other fighting styles; his right now was really really similar to All Might’s.
He couldn’t keep doing that, it was too obvious. He needed to be more discrete.
Plus… Superpower wouldn’t work anymore. He needed a better name that would encompass what he’s trying to do.
He wants to enhance his strength, to use the power to do more than just grow strong…
Enhance… Enhancement? That sounds good, and should be a good cover for any future adjustments he makes…
Yeah, he’d have to go change that over the weekend. Enhancement sounded better, and he could say it enhances him mentally too! That would give the idea that his quirk had just been really subtle before, that’s… actually a great idea. Why does he always get the best ideas when he’s not trying?
Okay then. He’ll deal with that tomorrow.
He went back to his notebooks, pulling out a new one (a basic one, this one would get a lot of wear and tear) he began to copy down the notes on the katas and notes on how it works.
He should be able to fight with and without using OFA. Especially until he had better control. And he should probably focus on less of a heavy hitting style and more around speed, he’s small and lean rather than bulky like All Might after all. So, copy down the kata’s that fit the best for that.
He spent another two hours copying down the proper forms and scribbling notes in the margins.
“Ugh.”
He stretched, maybe he should try something relaxing now? He did want to read that book on heroes his dad got him… and… a bath would be nice… with the bath bombs… He had been working hard!
So maybe he ended up taking a very nice relaxing bath, and maybe he ended up reading the book on heroes during it.
And maybe he learned a lot about heroes failings that he didn’t know before.
It was really sad sometimes, but it just inspires him more! He would do his absolute best to help everyone! And never abandon someone that he saw needed help.
Not like Crest, the wave hero, who caused a tsunami when fighting a villain and caused mass death and didn’t even catch the villain. Or Candle Lit, the night light hero, who wrongfully accused dozens of citizens of crimes. Or Book End, the knowledge hero, who killed villains and civilians alike, then claimed it was an accident. Or Big Sister Red, who blackmailed dozens of low-level criminals into doing her bidding. Or the dozens of other heroes that aimed for fame at all costs, slandered other heroes, ruined careers to boost their own.
He wouldn’t be like that, he would help people and wouldn’t demand anything in return. And he’d do it with a smile on his face just like All Might!
It was a really interesting read overall. It gave him a lot to think about and when he became a pro he’d know what to look out for.
He would protect people, even from other heroes.
He’d have to do a lot of research for that later, he would make sure the heroes he supported were actual heroes, that they weren’t hurting others. He didn’t really care about their motivation, the important thing is that they help others, that they protect and save lives.
But the bad ones, when he was a pro, he’d take them down! He’d make sure the ones that hurt people couldn’t do it any more and were properly punished.
Maybe that’s why dad gave him the book, to show him what he needed to watch out for when he became a pro.
Wow, dad was so smart! He’d do his best to make him proud.
Doctor POV
“It’s coming along nicely Master. Should only be a few more months before it’s ready.”
All for One smiled, “Good, keep me updated to it’s progress.”
“As you wish.”

Sticks and stone may break my bones but that doesn't mean you're not a snake
Out of all the things that his friends had dragged him out to do, mall visits were always the worst. He grumbled adjusting his sunglasses as Mina bumped into him for the 20th time in the last five minutes. “Let’s go in there!” Kaminari said, making the group follow him into yet another clothing store.
“Are you seriously going for the e-boy thing?” Kirishima laughed, looking at the various shades of black around the store.
Bakugou groaned but held up a few shirts for the electric user to take to the dressing room. “You’re really good with fashion Bakugou!” Mina complimented, “you have to pick some stuff out for me too!”
“You have no idea.” He huffed, rubbing at his temples, “I just want to get some stuff from the supplement store.”
“We’ll go there next.” Sero stated, “we’ve been dragging you around for long enough.”
He called into the dressing room for Kaminari to hurry up. He was pretty thankful that his friends were starting to understand his moods and body language. He wasn’t sure how much more he would last until he blew up.
Outside the store was getting louder and louder for some reason, and he groaned again when he thought about having to go back out there.
“I’m going to try some stuff on quickly, I’ll catch up with you guys in a minute,” Kirishima stated, pulling a sweater off one of the hangers. The blonde stared at his boyfriend in confusion.
“Are you sure?” Mina asked, raising a brow in his direction.
The redhead nodded, “I won’t be long at all.”
Kirishima gave Bakugou a reassuring nod, prompting him to follow their friends out of the store. The blonde rolled his eyes but complied.
It quieted down significantly as they stepped out before Mina sucked in a breath and started squealing. “What the hell is that noise?” Bakugou snapped, glaring at her.
“I-it’s Ashton Laurier!” She was grinning wide.
Bakugou’s eyes widened, and his eyebrow twitched as his gaze snapped over to where she was pointing. He would recognize that painfully obnoxious pose anywhere. He always hated the way the other's wavy brown hair was cut, with one side longer than the other. Seeing it again was already making him want to grab a pair of scissors and even it out.
“I’m going over to ask him for a picture.” She stated, hurrying over before the blonde could grab her.
He grit his teeth, stomping over towards them. His friends seemed equally excited, which in turn made him want to barf.
By the time he got over there, Mina was already gushing to the rodent about how much she loved his work. “Wow, Ashton I’m so glad they were able to dig you up to make an appearance today.” Bakugou stated, inspecting his manicure, “from the looks of you I guess they didn’t give you much time to freshen up.”
“Excuse me-“ the other whirled around to stare at Bakugou, before he smirked, “Oh hi Katsuki. I love the dye job, it really matches the box.”
The squad's mouths dropped open and their eyes widened. “Holy shit,” Sero whispered.
“He called him Katsuki.” Mina wheezed, grabbing over her heart like she was having a heart attack.
“I heard your fourth nose job was free. You gotta love those free punch cards!” Bakugou stated tightly, his posture smug, “hey next time why don’t you call me, and I can do it for free.”
The brunette’s hand flew to cover his nose as he snarled. His blue eyes narrowing.
“You sound like a Neanderthal,” he spat, “good thing you have the forehead to match.”
Bakugou gaped, his own hand flying to his forehead. The two of them snarled at each other.
“Do you know each other?” Mina asked, looking between them in confusion.
The tension was thick between the two as they glowered at each other.
“Oh, you didn’t tell your little friends about me?” Ashton cooed, with a smirk.
“I don’t make a habit of talking about the garbage I leave backstage.” Bakugou jeered, putting his hands firmly on his hips.
The brunette growled.
“C’mon man seriously.” Kaminari whined, “you know a celebrity and you didn’t even tell us!”
The blondes glare snapped over to Kaminari with an expression of Shut the fuck up you fuckface all over it.
“Yeah, that’s right Katsuki.” Ashton smirked, “you know a celebrity.”
“Piss off you dumpster goblin.” The blonde growled, a sneer marring his face.
“Oh wow, that’s the face that landed me the front cover of AllPro Fashion.” The model stated smugly.
Bakugou grit his teeth painfully, “that was my spread and you know it!” He snarled, “you know what the fuck you did.”
The blonde took a deep breath, before composing himself with a confident air. “Too bad that was your first and last big shoot. When was it? Four years ago?”
“Whatsit matter to you, has been?” Ashton snapped back, his smirk disappearing.
“I’m just saying you’re second rate, that’s a big accomplishment for you.” Bakugou hummed, “you should be proud.”
“Where the hell is Kiri? I can’t believe he’s missing this.” Sero wheezed, pulling out his phone to try and capture the moment.
The other model’s face screwed up even more. “Oh, don’t look so sour Ashton, you should be coming into a large sum of money soon.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” He seethed.
“Well, I mean if I had a face like yours, I would sue my parents.” He stated smugly, as his friends started wheezing around him, “therefore you don’t have to be sad about the lack of work.”
“This is incredible.” Kaminari huffed, out trying to hold himself up.
“Who knew Blasty had it in him,” Mina added.
“Blasty? That’s cute.” Ashton stated, “you don’t like the nickname I gave you?”
“Don’t.”
“I really liked wobbles.” He stated with a smirk.
He seemed to get a second wave of confidence as  he started getting up in the explosion heroes space while the blondes own confident air started to fade a bit.
“Wobbles?” Kaminari asked.
Bakugou shot him a glare as Ashton’s smirk grew wider. “During a runway a couple of years ago, Katsuki was coming out of the curtain in a pair of heels and was wobbling so bad he fell over.”
“You tripped me you asshole.” Bakugou snapped back, his body shifting into pure defence mode, “Do you have any idea how that affected my career?”
“Why should I care?” Ashton replied, “besides I got a good nickname out of it. As far as I know, a lot of people still call you that.”
The blonde's eyes widened before his brows furrowed in thought.
“Anyways, it’s been great chatting with you, but it really hasn’t.” Ashton said, flinging his bags over his shoulder, “I have to get ready for my next job.”
Bakugou rolled his eyes, crossing his arms in annoyance. “My agent’s lining up a huge shoot with Himariyuki fashion.” The brunette shared in a smug tone.
His face twisted in glee as Bakugou’s face fell blank and stared at the other before he started to laugh.
“Oh my god! You seriously don’t realize who my “agent” is, do you?” He wheezed, “the agent that you made cry years ago?”
“What about him?!” Ashton snapped back, his face becoming redder and redder. He was unsure if it was in anger or embarrassment.
“He’s my dad! And the co-owner of Himariyuki fashions.” He laughed, holding his stomach as he tried to suck in gasps of oxygen, “dude you doomed your career the second you decided to be a dick to him. Sorry, but my dad basically vowed never to endorse you in the company.”
The blonde was still cackling when the first shove happened. His eyes widened in shock before narrowing with a feral grin. “You have no idea who you’re messing with.”
“Oh, shit this is about to get real.” Kaminari whistled, backing up with the rest of the group.
“I know a bitch when I see one at least!” Ashton yelled, an ugly glowers on his face now.
“Why are you guys still here?” Kirishima’s voice suddenly cutting through the tension, “I thought you were heading over to the supplement store.”
Almost immediately Ashton’s glower disappeared, and his kind mask was put back on display.
“Oh, and who are you?” Ashton asked, seemingly forgetting that Bakugou and the rest of his friends existed.
He brought up a hand to trail down Kirishima’s arm. “Do you work out?” He asked, with a smile.
“Um, yeah.” The redhead replied, looking between his friends and the stranger.
“You sure as hell look like it.” Ashton stated moving in closer, “how about you and I-“
“Taken already moron.” Bakugou hissed, grabbing Kirishima’s arm and putting it around his own waist, “let’s get out of here.”
The brunette stared at them in shock before growling, “you better watch your back Wobbles!”
The blonde rolled his eyes, as they continued to walk away. “Wobbles?” Kirishima asked a hint of amusement in his voice.
“It’s a long fucking story.” Bakugou replied, “you really had to be there. Did you get what you wanted?”
“I can say for sure that you missed the best show ever Kiri. I’ll send the video in the group chat,” Sero stated, “but seriously what was that?”
The blonde sighed, “Ashton had unfortunately been around about as long as Deku but with modelling jobs and stuff. We’ve been in a bunch of ads and stuff together over the years.”
They exited the mall heading towards the train station. “I really liked doing modelling jobs and stuff when I was a kid, but he’s the one that ruined it for me. If you’re wondering why I’m such as asshole it’s because of that guy.” He grunted, “when I was just about to enter middle school, dad took me to one of my shoots. I was just coming off the set when I saw him talking to my dad.”
His shoulders seemed to slump as he continued talking about his father. “I don’t know what he said to him, dad won’t tell me, but it was about me. Whatever he said to him really upset him and made him cry.” He bit at his lip, “I really started to resent him since then, and I wanted to get out of modelling completely but sometimes I’ll do campaigns just because I miss it.”
They situated themselves on the train, heading back towards the dorms. It was a little later at night, so their group was the only ones on the car, “Did you know that Bakugou modelled?” Mina asked, turning her attention to Kirishima.
“Yeah?” He replied, raising a brow at her, “it’s kind of obvious.”
“How in the world is it obvious?!” She whined, “it doesn’t count because you’re he’s your boyfriend.”
“There’s literally a poster of him right behind you.” He replied, pointing behind her.
She whirled around and sure enough, Bakugou’s face was staring back at her. He had a baggy black shirt tucked into some high waisted black pants. It seemed like an ad for a perfume or something, at least that’s the vibe it gave off. “They’re all over the city.” Kirishima mused, “maybe you’re blind to them because he’s your friend?”
“Man, you must be such an attentive boyfriend.” Kaminari sighed.
“I don’t know.” Kirishima hummed, “am I an attentive boyfriend, Kat?”
“Shut up,” Bakugou grumbled with a blush dusting his cheeks.
They soon made it back to the dorms. They had intended to be back for movie night therefore everyone was gathered in the common room waiting for them. “Where have you guys been?” Midoriya asked, “we were getting worried.”
“We ran into a witch,” Bakugou replied, kicking his shoes off.
Midoriya looked at the rest of the group hoping to get some additional information. “We ran into Ashton Laurier,” Mina added.
The boy’s face seemed to blank before his cheeks puffed out in indignation. “What a jerk,” he mumbled.
“Oh my god! This is priceless!” Kaminari shrieked, “not even the broccoli boy likes him!”
“That’s not even his name!” Midoriya shouted, standing up, “he’s Japanese! Why is he using such an obviously fake name?!”
“Oohh, he’s getting heated.” Sero whistled, “how do you know that’s not his name?”
“Because I’m a freak and couldn’t leave it alone!” Midoriya replied, pulling a journal out of nowhere, “his name is Tetsuhiko Ichigawa!”
“Man, I told everyone you were a freak, but no one believed me.” Bakugou sighed with a roll of his eyes, “but this gives me even more material when I’ll unfortunately come face to face with him again.”
“SEE?! You’re welcome!” Midoriya shouted.
“You really don’t like him, do you Deku?” Uraraka asked.
“I used to go with Kaachan when he would do photoshoots and stuff, but I stopped going after a few that Ashton was at.” He replied, “the guy is a complete monster in human skin.”
“Did he make you cry too?” Kirishima asked.
“I mean who doesn’t make me cry?” Midoriya replied, raising his brows, “but yeah.”
“That’s why you stopped going?” Bakugou suddenly asked, the attention returning to him.
He looked a bit sheepish as he crossed his arms in front of himself. “Um, yeah.” Midoriya replied, “I thought you knew that.”
“You never really told me. You just - stopped.” Bakugou stated, glaring down at the ground, “I thought it was because you didn’t want to be around me anymore."
“I should have told you,” Midoriya added, nervously fiddling his fingers, “I knew he had a habit of pushing your sore spots.”
“He seemed adamant about pushing that nickname,” Mina added.
“What nickname?” Midoriya asked as Bakugou’s face blazed red.
“Wobbles.”
“Was that from that time he tripped you?” The green-haired boy asked.
“And the whole AllPro thing,” Kaminari added.
“It all ties together. It was that fashion show that Ashton tripped him at and broke his nose.” Midoriya hissed.
“He broke your nose!” Kirishima yelled.
“Yeah, he’s a little snake.” Bakugou sighed rolling his eyes, “I wasn’t hired for an entire 3 weeks because of him. I thought my mom was going to strangle him.”
“I feel like finding him and strangling him myself.” Kirishima hissed.
“It’s whatever,” Bakugou groaned, waving his hand dismissively, “it’s done already, and I fucking hate him but there’s nothing that I can do about it now.”
“Yeah, but-“ Kirishima tried to argue.
“He’s seriously not worth it Eiji.” Bakugou sighed, shaking his head.
“He said that people still call you that too,” Sero added.
The blonde bit the inside of his cheek. “I didn’t know that,” he mumbled, “I didn’t think that it even got past him.”
“For all we know he’s lying.” Midoriya tried to reassure him, “He’s a pathological liar.”
Bakugou glanced at him, a small amount of vulnerability slipping through. “Everyone seemed pretty horrified about what happened as well,” Midoriya continued, “I can’t believe that they would call you that behind your back.”
Kirishima nodded at his side, trying to reassure his boyfriend.
“Hey, just look at it this way Kat.” Kirishima cut in, wrapping his arm around his waist, “you’ve got something that hell never have.”
“And what’s that?” The blonde asked with a small smile, as the grip on his waist tightened.
“You have people that care about you.” He said sweetly, kissing him gently on the cheek, “and from what I saw and heard from him today, you’re leagues above him.”
He glanced across the room at his classmates that gave him nods of approval and smiles.
The blonde grinned harder, nodding along with them, “I guess you’re right.”

Ocean Waves
As April and May quickly passed by, the spring cherry blossom trees swayed in the wind, letting their petals take flight through the blue skies, awaiting for the warm air of summer to greet them.
June approached rather quickly much to the demise of Leo, who still felt stuck in his own shadows of despair.
Leo felt stuck, like he was running an endless race between him and himself-- never gaining or losing any distance. Every time he looked at his teammates making strides in their own talents, his stomach would tighten, desperately wanting to also experience the freeing feeling of getting better at something he gave his life to. Leo watched as he was left behind at the bottom, barely being able to go up the next few steps. It was a slap to the face when he realized the pace Minami was growing, seeing her back to him, shrinking ever so slightly as she left him behind on the tracks. Her body was lean and honed, prepared for every jump, spike, and leap she would graciously perform in her games.
Contrasting Leo’s black and white world, Minami’s colorful demeanor had always shown a smile, barely being able to contain her own excitement, as she too knew how much better she had become.
Leo’s back was against the gym wall, heaving in and out, trying to catch his breath. As he brought the water bottle to his lips, his hands shook. Inspecting himself, he saw beads of sweat dripping from his temple down to his neck, the trail never ending.
Recently, his body could never seem to stop shaking. At first he believed it was the amount of practice he was putting himself through by how his body felt ready to collapse at the end of each day, but maybe it was just the fears taking root inside of him.
Katsuki and Dino stood beside him, relaxing even while drenched in sweat. Leo glanced towards the cousins, feeling envy strengthen the pain in his heart.
Dino had fully immersed himself into his role on the team, using his height and wit as an advantage against enemies. Even Katsuki, despite not having played as many games as his cousin, grew into his own place on the court as well. Whenever Katsuki was subbed in, his fresh energy excited the team, heightening their spirits. His chaotic energy made playing against him a nuisance, and Leo couldn’t help but sigh thinking about it. It felt like he was swimming through the darkest ocean, with waves that always threatened to pull him under. The rare times he could get a glimpse of land were short lived as the waves brought him under once again, promising sweet release from the pain he was harboring.
“Interhigh begins soon, so I expect all of you to practice even harder,” Coach Ukai exclaimed. A chorus of “yes sir” erupted from the gym displaying the excitement from the team.
“One step closer to Nationals!” Hikaru yelled, pumping his fist into the air.
“That is if we win Interhigh,” Hisaki scoffed.
Ryu patted him on the back, giving a bright smile, “Let him live Hisaki!” Hisaki turned away, arms crossed, not bothering to respond.
Horror crept up on Leo gleefully attaching to him as he started to realize that he was running out of time.
“You kids all packed and ready?” Hinata asked over dinner.
Minami bounced in her seat, happily shoving down the food in front of her, “Yup all ready!” She looked at Leo who was poking at the food with his chopsticks, his eyes losing its focus every few minutes. The time between the announcement and Interhigh went by too fast and Leo couldn’t help but think he wasn’t ready.
“What if I’m not enough?” Leo thought, biting down on the tempura he stabbed a bit too violently off the plate. As Leo chewed the food, he made an even worse realization, “I’m probably not even going to be playing in the game.” His face turned sour, as dark clouds swarmed his mind.
Leo was numb to the incessant poking from Minami, but he quickly snapped out of his thoughts as soon as she started mumbling death curses under her breath.
Leo shook his head and widened his eyes, when he realized everyone was looking at him. “I-uh-yeah,” he muttered out, hoping he said the right words.
“Are you okay Leo?” Hinata asked, his eyes full of worry.
Kageyama stared at him, his face seemingly knowledgeable of Leo’s feelings, “You’ve been awfully quiet ever since school began. Is everything okay?”
Leo nodded vigorously, “Yeah! Why wouldn’t school be okay?” Hinata’s mouth formed into a thin line, making Leo feel guilt pool into his heart. “I’m seriously fine, I’m just-” Leo racked his brain for a good excuse before landing on a convincing one, “I’m just stressed that we aren’t going to do well tomorrow… that’s all,” his voice becoming softer. He eyed his parents, clearly they thought something was still up but they sighed in defeat, buying his not complete lie.
“You should go to bed early then,” Hinata said.
Yeah, maybe sleep was a good idea.
Hinata, despite suggesting for Leo to go to sleep, asked him to quickly take out the trash and being the self-proclaimed “better sibling” he was, Leo couldn’t say no.
The night sky glistened overhead, as the stars and the soft streetlights punctured the darkness. Leo yawned, slowly dragging his feet to the garbage. The street was silent when he reached the bin, flipping the lid to throw in the trash. He started to walk back towards the front door when someone’s voice cut through the peaceful silence.
“Leo?”
Leo turned around, squinting in the dark and saw Okiawa standing in their front lawn. “Oh, hello Okaiwa-san.”
Okiawa nodded, “What are you doing out here so late?”
Leo gestured towards the garbage, “Throwing out the trash.”
He saw Okiawa grimace, muttering something to himself which made Leo confused. “Well it was nice talking to you Okiawa-san but I need to go to sleep,” before turning around.
“Isn’t Interhigh tomorrow?” Okiawa softly asked. He stopped, his feet firmly planted in the ground. “Hoshi has been so excited for the past few days he couldn’t sit still for anything,” Okiawa chuckled. His heart tightened, as he gripped his shirt tightly. “I know I’m not your dad, but I did see you grow up. So, I hope you know that you can talk to me if something is going on. Hoshi thinks something’s wrong.”
Leo squeezed the bags of trash he was holding, feeling the newfound anger course through his veins, realizing that Hoshi had picked up on his problems and talked about him. He needed to hide better.
Okiawa seemed to notice and quickly covered it up, “He didn’t mean it to sound like he’s talking behind your back but--”
After he practically shoved the trash in the bin, he instantly turned around, “I-” His words were clogged in his throat, feeling backed up against the wall. He struggled to voice himself, realizing the hole he dug himself continued to get deeper.
“Is this about volleyball?” Okiawa asked.
The words still refused to come out as Leo desperately wished to run back inside, and to go and hide in his bed, safe from the world beneath his blankets. But his body betrayed him by nodding.
Okiawa sighed, “I don’t want to push you into telling me anything, but what I’m going to say right now… I hope it helps you.”
Leo wanted to run in so badly and yet his feet refused to budge.
Okiawa stared off into the sky, his voice resonating nostalgia, “I was a prodigy setter, and of course, I still am,” he chuckled, “but back when I was about to leave middle school, I had this talk. This was around the time when Tobio-chan appeared, and I couldn’t help but loathe him.”
Leo couldn’t help but blurt out, “Why?”
Okiawa faced him, “I used to be one of the best setters, but then Kageyama appeared. Everyone called him a prodigy, and no matter what I did, I was nothing compared to his natural born talents.”
Okiawa sighed, his hands ruffling his hair, “One day, he told me this exact speech: ‘If you’re going to complain that someone born with more talent than you will always be better than you, no matter how hard you work, how many tricks you learn, and how many great teammates you have… do that only after you’ve given everything the very best effort you have.”’ Okiawa smiled, “You’re gonna meet a lot of people who are naturally better than you Leo. But you’re just gonna have to continue fighting your way to the top. Always remember, your teammates will always be there to help you.”
For some reason, the words he said made Leo feel a tad bit better, and for a second, the dark thoughts that flooded his mind flew away. “Thank you Okiawa-san,” Leo muttered.
Okiawa waved his hand, “I wish you luck tomorrow,” before entering his home.
Leo stood outside in the open air, staring straight ahead before coming to the realization that he shouldn’t be beating himself up over this. He gave his all during practice, and even if his past self didn’t notice, he did change for the better.
He lifted his foot, stepping on the first step.
Leo watched as the Sendai City Gymnasium approached into view. The huge building surrounded by the volleyball teams. Despite the restful sleep that he had last night, he couldn’t stop the slight trembling that overtook his body. Standing at the door, his mind realized he was really here. Staring at the other teams, he saw the strength that they all possessed. Trying hard to stop the onslaught of emotions, he wasn’t ready.
Leo mentally cursed himself, he was doing fine last night, why now?
A hand landed on his shoulder, and as Leo jumped back slightly, he saw Rin softly smiling at him. Leo, forcing himself to breathe, finally calmed down. Now was not the time to freak out.
“We have some time before our first game begins, so let’s get comfortable,” Coach Ukai yelled out, ushering them into the main corridor.
Katsuki was bouncing next to Dino who tiredly leaned on Leo’s shoulder as they walked, “We’re here!” he yelled, his eyes bright with sparkles.
Dino sighed, picking his head up from Leo, “Can you please save that energy for the game?”
Katsuki’s gaze sharpened, “Don’t worry Dino, that won’t be a problem.”
Leo kept quiet besides the two, trying to keep himself calm.
“Hey Leo…” Katsuki tried to warn Leo before he felt the air in his lungs give away as something collided into him. Struggling to keep himself up, a pair of arms wrapped around him in a hug.
“I found you!” a female voice yelled. Leo sighed as his eyes met Minami’s who was grinning happily at him. The rest of the team paused to watch the ordeal and he saw Katsuki struggle to keep in his laugh.
Leo patted her back, “Yeah congrats, you found me, but can you please let me go?” Minami laughed, dropping her arms to her sides as Leo stumbled before finding his footing. “What are you doing here?” he asked.
Minami stared at him dumbfounded, “it's Interhigh, I’m here to play.”
Leo shook his head, “I meant what are you doing here, here.”
“Oh, we’re one of the first teams to play today. I also saw you, so I came!”
Leo sighed, his mouth opened to argue, but he was interrupted by Coach Ukai. “Is that my dear Minami?”
Minami giggled as she hugged Ukai, “How are you Coach?”
He grinned, “Great, but you have to visit me more, I get lonely yelling at boys all day.”
Minami waved her hands, “I wish I could, but you know I also have practice!”
Coach Ukai sadly tilted his head to the side, “Your parents are here right?”
Minami nodded, “They should be around here somewhere… oh right there!” She started to frantically wave her hands.
Leo paused, his eyes widened as he tried to stop her, “What are you-”
The chattering of the gym seemed to pause as the crowd split apart to let Hinata and Kageyama through towards them, the bright orange contrasting the crow black. Minami ran towards them with her arms outstretched. Hinata laughed as he caught Minami in his arms, hugging her tightly. Kageyama fondly smiled down, patting her head.
“Well aren’t you two a sight for sore eyes,” Ukai said as he laughed loudly. The chattering of the crowd dropped to whispers as everyone awed at the two famous volleyball players.
“Hi Coach! Sorry we’re always busy with practice and games,” Hinata said beaming.
Ukai chuckled, “Well you all better be.”
Kageyama faced Leo, placing a hand on his shoulder after Leo joined Minami in the hug, “You’re gonna do great.”
Leo nodded unconsciously, “Thanks.”
Before they could continue, they heard more yelling as they all turned to see Hoshi running towards them, with his parents in tow.
“Isn’t that…” Ryu asked.
“Iwazumi and Oikawa-san?” Rin finished, his eyes wide.
Minami went rigid as Leo watched Minami fiddle with her fingers. She began to breathe deeply, calming herself, and Leo noted the way she was getting better with this whole situation. Minami smiled at the approaching family. “Hey Hoshi,” she said, not quite meeting his eyes yet.
“Hey,” Hoshi said as they all stood there awkwardly.
Okiawa cleared his throat, “Well it’s nice to see you all,” as his eyes roamed over Karasuno. “Ah, you guys must be the new Karasuno team.”
“And well if it isn’t Okiawa,” Ukai said as he studied him, “I don’t know who I found more annoying you or Ushijima.”
Okiawa flaunted himself, “Of course it’s me, he could never compare to my greatness.” Okiawa stopped before realization dawned on him, “Isn’t Shiratorizawa also here today?” He stopped to look for them in the crowd, “I wanna go see and make fun of how stupid they look.”
Iwazumi patted Okiawa, “You really need to stop.”
Okiawa smirked, “But it’s so much fun!”
Iwazumi sighed, “We’re here to say good luck and to let Hoshi go prepare.”
The kids were used to the adult’s antics, reverting their focus back on themselves. “You have a game soon?” Minami asked, apparently all her awkwardness was gone, replaced with curiosity.
“Yeah and I mean… you could come and watch, “ Hoshi gingerly said.
Minami shook her head, “Sorry, got a game. Leo is gonna come watch though, isn’t that right?” Leo met Minami’s devilish grin, and found himself cornered. He didn’t need to see how well Minami was going to do, but he knew he was obligated to go and he did have the time to watch.
“I don’t know…” he said hoping she’ll just take his uncertainty as a no.
Minami studied him, a hint of pain flashed through her eyes, “Well if you’re gonna set up, then I get it.” Minami twisted around, her arms crossed on her chest. Hoshi looked at Leo in confusion, but Leo couldn’t continue to stand there. The air was tense, and he knew he shouldn’t keep it like this.
Sighing, Leo decided to try and lessen the tension between the three of them, “Don’t worry Minami, I’ll be there.” He plastered a smile on his face, “Anything for my twin.”
Minami beamed at him, “Don’t worry, I’ll watch you too after my game!”
Leo paused, an unsettling feeling creeped into his stomach, “You really don’t need to.” He didn’t need them to see how worthless he was. He could feel Okiawa gazing towards his direction, and turning around, Leo soon met Oikawa’s eyes.
Oikawa sent him a small smile full of understanding, and Leo breathed in deeply. No, he was better than this. He’ll rise to meet each challenge and prove to himself that he deserved to be on that court. And maybe if he repeated these thoughts, he could convince himself. Maybe the darkness would leave him alone.
“I hope to see you there then.” Minami grinned, “Good luck, brother.”
“Good luck.”

aww thank you hon 😭💕 asketh and you shall receiveth!
tdbk: [12] Roommates AU and [88] Erotic Dreams
i went for the Bakugou route with the dreams, only because i wanted to have him chat w/ Kirishima about it. forgive me anon 🙏🏻
***
“You had… a wet dream?” From the look on Kirishima’s face, Bakugou can tell he’s holding back laughter.
“Shut the fuck up, Shitty Hair.” Bakugou half-rises from his seat, prepared to leave—and perhaps run straight into oncoming traffic. “Dammit. I knew I shouldn’t have fucking told you.”
“Hey, I didn’t even say anything yet!” Kirishima holds his hands up innocently. “I just needed to process it… Who was the dream about?”
Bakugou sits back down hesitantly, taking a sip of black coffee to calm his nerves. “…Todoroki.”
Kaminari snorts into his hot chocolate, spilling it across the café table. “Wait, the one who has a stupid expression all the time? The one who stays up late every night and never gets tired? The one you’re constantly saying you can’t stand? That Todoroki? Your roommate Todoroki?”
“Keep your fucking voice down,” Bakugou hisses, shoving napkins into Kirishima’s hands. “Yes, that Todoroki. And now I can’t stop thinking about it. I want to scrub my brain with bleach. And if that doesn’t work, I want to kill myself.” Bakugou slams his head against the table, rattling their mugs. “My roommate. How can I look him in the eyes now?”
“Do you think you like him?” Kirishima asks, sopping up his spilled cocoa. “From a bystander point-of-view, it’s really impossible to tell whether you like or hate someone.”
“I don’t know,” Bakugou groans, rubbing his palms into his eyelids. “I thought I hated him, but now I get all… weird whenever I see him. I feel like such a fucking creep. The guy sleeps ten feet away from me.”
“This isn’t the end of the world.” Kirishima dumps the gross wet napkins on his plate and picks up his cup. “It sounds like you’re overreacting a little. Your subconscious messes up everything in your dreams, dude. This could be a one-time thing.”
Bakugou fidgets with his empty mug anxiously. “…You think?”
“Absolutely!” Kirishima claps him on the shoulder reassuringly. “Just try to forget about it. I’m sure things will be back to normal in no time.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right.”
Bakugou says it to convince himself more than anything. It’s not uncommon to have totally weird dreams, right? That one time, he dreamed the moon was blown up, and that didn’t really happen. Dreams are stupid, and this one doesn’t mean anything. He’ll look at Todoroki when he gets back, and he’ll feel nothing—no tightness in his chest, no butterflies in his stomach—because that’s the way it’s supposed to be.
He feels a bit better already.
***
Hah, Katsuki— N-not there… Ah!
Bakugou jerks awake in an ice-cold sweat, his back on the hardwood floor and his legs straight up in the air. Jesus fucking Christ. It happened again. Thank god Todoroki has already left for his morning class, or he’d see what else—other than Bakugou’s legs—is sticking up.
He’s a pervert, isn’t he? While he’s getting dressed, and even after he leaves the dorm, Bakugou can’t get the eerily vivid mental image out of his head. Todoroki covered in sweat, his hair blossoming across Bakugou’s pillowcase, gasping out his name, begging for—
Oh shit, he actually likes thinking about it. What the fuck? Is he really a creep? Fantasizing about his roommate, who’s, for one, a guy. Sure, he’s hotter than asphalt in the summer, but his personality is terrible. On top of that, he’s about as erotic in his everyday life as a limp noodle or a piece of driftwood. Yesterday he wore ripped jeans and a purple argyle sweater, for fuck’s sake.
Well… okay, so maybe he looks pretty good while sleeping, or eating, or exercising, or— Okay, no. That’s a doomed train of thought. But Bakugou is doomed. He’s had multiple, amazingly explicit sexual dreams about his roommate. That’s gotta be the most ‘doomed’ things can get.
“Fuck,” Bakugou says aloud, startling several people in the train around him. He finishes the thought in his head to keep from fortifying his delinquent image: I’m so totally, completely, exquisitely fucked.
And it’s true. Bakugou has been denying it for a while, as he’s so skilled at doing, but it’s true. Todoroki’s sleepy, stumbling walk in the mornings. The way his hair falls in his eyes when he bends over a textbook. How he doesn’t know how achingly gorgeous he is—but he must know, because no fucking way does someone so hot not know they’re male-model material.
Bakugou’s hand nearly fractures when he smashes it against the train railing. So much for not supporting his ’probably in the mafia’ rep. There’s nothing else to take his anger out on, though. If he goes to class, he’ll probably end up breaking a computer over someone’s head. Jesus, if he sees that bastard’s face right now, he’ll probably—
“Bakugou?”
“Christ— Don’t sneak up on people like that.” Bakugou lets out a tense breath before smacking Kaminari on the back of the head. “I thought you were… someone else.”
“Who? Like Todoro— OW!” Kaminari rubs his arm defensively.
“Kirishima told you, didn’t he?” Bakugou demands, lowering his voice when nearby people glare at him. “Tell me what you know or I’ll fucking kill you.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Seriously.” Kaminari gives him a confused look. “What’s up with you lately, dude?”
“Nothing.”
It doesn’t sound convincing in the least, and Bakugou has to think about it for a while. Why doesn’t it sound convincing? He’s been running around in his own thoughts ever since that damn dream, and now he’s slamming up against a brick wall. Maybe it’s time to look at things from a different angle.
***
Spending all day sitting on a park bench thinking about his sexuality is the absolute last thing Bakugou ever thought he’d do, but here he is. He’s able to pick out two distinct things from the jigsaw puzzle of his thoughts. 1.) He’s probably in love with Todoroki Shouto. That one’s easy to conclude, what with the dreams and the unintentional staring and all. 2.) He needs to confess said love, before he exposes himself.
Number two is the one he’s getting stuck on. How does one go about confessing their love for their roommate? He could probably turn to TV dramas or manga to find out, or maybe those shitty fanfiction Mina is always reading. Who is he kidding, though? He’s just going to blurt it out, in acquiescence of his typical act-before-you-think behavior.
Bakugou’s been rehearsing the confession in his head with every step taken towards the dorm. So far, the possible outcomes are giving him ghostly pains in his groin, where Todoroki will inevitably kick him. Maybe he should prepare some ice in advance, just to be safe.
Fuck, he’s here already? He was hoping he’d accidentally get lost while deep in thought. No such luck. It’s time to buck up or shut up, as Kirishima would say.
Bakugou raises his fist to knock before realizing that he lives here too, obviously. He must be more nervous than he thought. It takes him four tries to get the door unlocked, his hands are shaking so bad.
Todoroki is sitting at his desk, chin resting in his hand. The sleeve of his sweatshirt is slipping down his arm, revealing a sliver of tantalizing pale wrist. God, his wrists are so fucking small, Bakugou is sure his fingers would touch if he grabbed one. But priorities: he’s on a mission right now. Still, he can’t help but notice the way Todoroki’s hair falls into his face, and the soft curve of his lips as he mutters to himself, and— Fuck.
“I’m in love with you!” spews out of Bakugou’s mouth faster than his subconscious can scream No!
Todoroki jumps, whacking his forehead into his desk lamp. While he’s recovering, Bakugou fights the overwhelming urge to jump out the nearest window. It would be pointless: they’re only on the second floor, so it wouldn’t even kill him. Fuck, he’s such an idiot. With any luck, maybe Todoroki didn’t hear him.
“Did you just… confess to me?” Todoroki looks at him with his wide, stormy eyes, a rosy blush blossoming across his sharp cheekbones, and Bakugou’s heart explodes.
Okay, so the bastard definitely heard him. What‘s his next move? Be direct? Act like it was a joke? Pretend to faint? Fuck, why’d he have to go and open his damn mouth? Why’d he have to fall in love with Todoroki, out of all the people in the world? Todoroki, who’s standing up now, still staring at him, blushing, beautiful, waiting for an answer.
Bakugou’s throat has gone dry. He’s in love with him. He’s in love with him, and it’s about damn time he did something about it. Since when has he been the type of person to get nervous about something like this? He’s Bakugou fucking Katsuki, and he’s in love with his pretty, annoying dipshit of a roommate.
“I’m… in love with you,” Bakugou repeats. It’s not exactly gentle, but it feels gentle, like a softly plucked harp string resonating in the air between them. “I’m in love with you,” he says again, more firmly. “I think I probably have been for a while, and I just thought I’d tell you. So, yeah.”
Todoroki stares at him, his expression unreadable, eyes wide, lips parted, face flushed. He looks like a watercolor painting, all soft lines and bleeding colors. Fuck, he’s just so… ethereal. Bakugou can’t believe he didn’t realize he was in love with him sooner.
“I… don’t really know what to say,” Todoroki murmurs eventually. He swallows, and Bakugou’s eyes trace the tantalizing bob of his throat before flicking back to his face.
“You don’t have to like me back or anything. I just had to tell you before I lost my fucking mind. If you want to beat me up, or ask to switch rooms—“
“No,” Todoroki interrupts quickly, taking another step closer to him. “I mean… No, I don’t want to beat you up. Or switch rooms. I— I just wasn’t expecting this.” He catches his bottom lip between his teeth in a way that nearly gives Bakugou an out-of-body experience. “I can’t tell if I’m in love with you, but I… I do think I like you.”
“You do?” Bakugou croaks. He was forgetting to breathe. “I mean… Really? You’re being serious?”
Todoroki nods, his hair falling into his face when he lowers his head shyly. “I’ve never really… been in love before. I’m not sure how you tell, but I know that I can’t stop thinking about you.”
Oh, God. Is this real? Bakugou’s heart is nearly impaling itself against his rib-cage. He sincerely hopes this isn’t a dream. But if it is, they’d probably be fucking already, so it’s a good sign that Todoroki still has his clothes on.
“Then, should I…” Bakugou swallows thickly. He’s almost afraid to ask. “I mean, can I… kiss you?”
Todoroki’s hesitant nod shatters the world into spiraling shards of multicolored glass. His timid, soft, “Okay,” sends the pieces shooting into the stratosphere.
Bakugou thought he would be impatient when given this opportunity, but his limbs move in slow motion. His hands slide down Todoroki’s arm to his slim wrist, fingertips pressing against his hammering pulse.
He’s never kissed anyone before, but it doesn’t look that complicated. He’s seen enough movies to know how to start. He slips his hand around Todoroki’s neck. His pulse is hammering against his throat, too, and when Bakugou pulls him closer, he can almost feel it against his lips.
The kiss is slow at first, barely a touch. God, Todoroki’s mouth is soft. Are lips allowed to be this soft?
Todoroki makes a soft sound in the back of his throat, and Bakugou feels it vibrating in every single one of his pores. He pushes further, slipping his tongue across Todoroki’s upper lip, catching the bottom between his teeth. He makes that desperate sound again, fingers tangling in Bakugou’s T-shirt.
Kissing never looked all that appealing when he sneered at it on the train or at the park, and Bakugou can’t believe he thought that up until now. There’s fireworks exploding in his synapses, spreading warmth to every part of him all at once. When he slips his tongue in Todoroki’s mouth, the warmth turns to a raging fire boiling beneath his skin.
He forgot about his hands, but now he uses them to pull Todoroki even closer, closer. He’s breathing into Bakugou’s mouth, or maybe stealing air from him, his eyelashes fluttering against his cheek like moth wings. His own tongue slides across Bakugou’s, tentatively, but with a purpose.
Fuck. Fuck. He’s losing his mind. How do you breathe, again? The last thing he wants to do is stop kissing Todoroki, but he needs to take in air or he’ll pass out.
They part, and Bakugou covers his lips, which still taste of Todoroki. His other hand is still on Todoroki’s waist, displacing his shirt to show a sliver of pale skin. “Does…” He lets out a weak exhale, forcing his brain to work again. “Does that help answer your question?”
With Todoroki’s speechless, idiotic nod, Bakugou’s heart is displaced again. Pieces of it go floating through his bloodstream, settling in the places Todoroki is touching him. One hand sliding up his arm, under his sleeve, the other tangled in the hair at the nape of his neck.
Fuck, this is so much better than a dream.

I'll Be Your Warmth
Ao3 link here. This is a Sequel to Your Hold On Me [M]
Katsuki carefully bundles up the clothes Deku had hidden at the bottom of his closet and carries them out of the bedroom without waking him. I even ironed, my ass, he thought bitterly. Why he even believed the idiot, Katsuki didn’t know. Deku had just taken what he wanted to wear and ironed on a day to day basis, which is stupid and resulted in the mountain of clothing Katsuki is carrying right now.
He drops them right next to the ironing board picks his phone up, to ring his mother. She had been calling him since he got back but he had been rather busy, first with the mission then with Deku. He spreads the first shirt out and gets to work.
His mother picks up on the second ring. “Katsuki.”
“You called,” he says, repositioning the shirt on the board and ironing out the wrinkles. She’s on speakers so his hands are free.
“You finally deigned to speak to me.”
Katsuki clenches his teeth, already dreading the conversation. He knows what’s coming before she says, “look Katsuki. You are finally back and it’s time to think- “
He slides his thumb over the screen before he can stop himself. Then, sighing, Katsuki picks the phone back up and as soon as it connects, grits out a, “no.”
“Just listen to me! You are almost 28 and went aboard to experience it all and now that you are finally back, you really need to think about settling down.”
Carefully switching the shirt for a pair of a pair of dress pants, Katsuki takes a deep breath. From the corner of his eyes he can see Deku coming out of the bedroom and go to the bathroom.
“- are you even listening.”
“No,” he repeats and hears a sigh on the other end of the phone. There is a short moment of silence before his mother speaks up again.
“Look, Katsuki. Do you even have a place to stay? Just come home and we can talk about this face to face.”
“I’m staying with Deku,” he says, chasing the warmth the hot iron leaves behind with his other hand. The heat left behind weirdly reminds him of the small sparks he used to create in his hands as a kid, when he first got his Quirk. It’s soothing.
“Still? Didn’t he move out?”
“I’m not staying with you,” he tells her as he carefully hangs the pants up and reaches for Deku’s dress shirt. It’s the only formal wear he owns and Katsuki is suddenly realizing that Deku last wore them to his farewell party. “You probably have some dates lined up. I’m not interested.”
“Why are you so stubborn?”
“Tell dad I’m coming for a visit on Friday before going back to the states.”
“Going back? Why?”
Katsuki repositions the shirt to iron the back. “Some paperwork leftovers. I’ll only stay a month.” Chasing the heat of the iron, Katsuki spreads his hand over the white fabric of Deku’s dress shirt and then, suddenly there is a flash of pale skin and for one moment, he feels the heat of Deku’s skin beneath his palm instead of the fading heat left behind by the iron. The fabric crumbles beneath his hand and he immediately lets go and smooths it out again, feeling like an idiot for crumbling it up in the first place.
Then his memories flash back to the hand shaped bruises on Deku’s hips and all the other marks he had left on Deku in his embarrassingly possessive moments and bangs his head against the ironing board. “Fuck,” he mutters, forehead pressed against Deku’s stupid shirt as he remembers pressing his forehead between Deku’s shoulder blades and whispering all kinds of stupid confessions because Deku thought he only wanted sex.
“I’m going to fucking marry him,” Katsuki grit out. After all the embarrassing shit he said yesterday, he deserves it.
“What?” His mother asks just as there is a small noise.
Katsuki looks up to see Deku standing in the doorway, comb lying at his feet and slowly backing away. “I- Ah, I’ll just- “and then he turns around like the coward that he is and slams the bathroom door shut.
Katsuki pulls the plug of the iron out with more force than necessary and rushes to the bathroom door. “Don’t you hide, Deku!”
“I’m not hiding,” Deku screams back but the door remains firmly shut.
Katsuki growls, hits the door with his shoulder and shouts, “then open the damn door!”
“I can’t!”
“Why not? Make sense, damn Deku!”
“I really can’t,” Deku replies and Katsuki closes his eyes, thinks of all the confessions he made yesterday and the ones Deku made in reply.
“Don’t freak out, Nerd. I told you all this yesterday. It’s nothing new.”
Katsuki can hear Izuku take a deep breath, before he replies with a trembling voice. “We haven’t got any rings.” He sounds slightly hysteric so Katsuki stops pushing and rests forehead against the door.
“So, we will go get some. Get out Deku.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Rings.”
“I swear to god,” Katsuki starts, takes a breath and tries again. “Will you come out if I buy rings.”
Deku doesn’t reply for a while. Doesn’t make any noise at all. The he whispers, “Kacchan.”
Katsuki slowly sits down on the ground and picks up the comb Deku had dropped. “What?”
“I’m not running,” Deku says.
“What is this then?” Katsuki carefully picks Deku’s hair out from between its teeth.
“I just don’t want to look at you right now.”
“You aren’t making any sense,” Katsuki tells him. Then he gets up and goes back to the ironing. He carefully stretches Deku’s white shirt out again and manages to get the wrinkles he made earlier out of it. When he looks up after he’s done, Deku is standing in front of the bathroom, not quite facing Katsuki.
Katsuki picks out another piece of clothing, presses the hot iron against it and chases the heat with the palm of his other hand. It helps him wait Deku out. He’s not good at this. But he fights against the urge to rush Deku for answers and instead tries to remember what he was doing before Deku slammed the bathroom door in his face.
“It’s no good,” Deku whispers. “I can’t think straight with you around.”
Katsuki doesn’t look up again. Continues his ironing and waits until Deku comes and sits in front of the ironing board and fidgets with his fingers. “Explain,” he says.
Deku looks up, looks down again and reaches out to grab the leg of the ironing board. “I told you to say stop, Kacchan.”
“And I told you I would.”
“But this…” Deku closes his eyes and seems to gather his thoughts. “This is not saying stop. This is encouraging all the ugly feelings.”
Katsuki takes a deep breath before he finally puts the iron away and pulls out the plug. He sits down across from Deku on the ground, the legs of the ironing board between them. Deku’s knuckles have gone white with the strength of his grip on it, his wet hair dripping.
Katsuki sighs and pulls the hanger off the sofa and stretches the white dress shirt out between them. “See those?” he asks, pointing out the thin lines of wrinkles he didn’t get out properly. “Thought of you in bed last night, thought of the marks I left on your skin and I couldn’t help it. I just gripped the shirt and couldn’t get myself to let go.”
He says it carefully, forces the words out against the embarrassment he feels, weights his options and continues, not looking up at Deku. “I want you. It makes me stupid. I had to iron this twice. But,” he crumbles the shirt up in his hand and then stops at Deku’s sharp inhale. “But it’s ok. Because you tell me to stop, I’ll stop. No matter how stupid you make me.”
He takes Deku’s hand from the leg of the ironing board and puts it on the shirt. “I trust you to say stop when it’s too much. Trust me to do the same.”
Deku waits a moment, takes a shaky breath and then lets his fingers burrow deep into the fabric as he crumbles it up.
“Stop,” Katsuki says and Izuku jerks up, looking at him. “See,” Katsuki grins. “You stopped. It’s alright, Izuku.”
And then Deku’s face falls and Katsuki only has a short moment to brace himself before Izuku pushes the ironing board away and crawls in his lap, burying his face in Katsuki’s neck. His wet hair shocks him for a moment before Deku’s heat engulfs him and his right hand sneaks up the back of Deku’s shirt without him really thinking about it. When he feels the heat of Deku’s back against his palm, he traces the warmth of his skin, down to his waist and goes back to his shoulder blade again, acutely aware that Deku is not like the fleeting warmth of the iron but a solid warmth in his arms.
He’s not going anywhere.
Katsuki allows himself only one moment of embarrassment at all the stuff he said earlier before nudging Deku’s side. “So?”
“Hmm,” Deku answers and Katsuki’s patience runs thin.
“Rings?”
There is a moment of silence before Deku says, “Ok.”
“Ok,” Katsuki says.
Over the speaker, his mother says, “sweet, I’ll make an appointment at the registry office. What kind of wedding do you want, Izuku? Is a spring wedding ok?”
Katsuki can feel Deku flush in his arms even without seeing his face. He goes stiff all over and tries to hide himself even further against Katsuki’s skin. His wet hair makes Katsuki cringe away for a moment.
“Old hag!”
“Careful, Katsuki. I recorded all that. Very lovely. Who thought that you-”
Katsuki abruptly ends the call and wills himself to calm down. Then, he hides his own face in Deku’s neck, tries not to think about everything he said, and his mother heard and then groans. He lets himself fall forward, until Deku’s back hits the ground and he’s hovering above him. “Tell me that didn’t just happen.”
Damn Deku is red from neck up and gives an awkward laugh, looking as happy as yesterday morning when he told Katsuki he loved him. “That didn’t just happen,” he says.
Katsuki bends down, chases a water drop down Izuku’s throat and bites at his collarbone, then sucks at it. He doesn’t need Deku’s hand to sneak down his pants, or his mouth on his earlobe. He’s more than ready to forget the awkward conversation looming in his future and take Izuku back to bed. “I don’t think you’ll ever have to stop, Deku. You can have all of me, if I can devour you.”
Deku shudders against him and pulls him down. “Yeah, yeah. That sounds good. Great.”
And then Katsuki stops thinking about anything that’s not Deku.

Oh right, I forgot to ask now that you finished the Yakuza/Overhaul arc but on a scale from Endeavor to All For One, where does Overhaul fit on the bad dad scale?
somehow this very simple ask which could have been answered in like three sentences turned into my definitive ranking of the top ten Known Dads in BnHA. I’m not sure how either. but here we go
(spoilers in this post up to chapter 165!)
10. Overhaul
dad score - [unknown] [the scale broke when we tried to measure him]
is asked to care for his boss’s granddaughter; proceeds to torture her for profit
constantly tells her that she’s cursed and all the bad things that he does are somehow her fault
doesn’t even bother to give this kid some fucking shoes
keeps killing her babysitters
I know I already said it, but it really can’t be stressed enough, this guy routinely disassembled her limbs on a molecular level, causing her excruciating pain and trauma, for the sake of trying to make himself the new drug-dealing kingpin of the underworld. he is sooo bad you guys
9. All for One
dad score - 11/100
is super creepy and manipulative and purposely brainwashed Tomura into hating All Might through a series of meticulously calculated encounters
decided the best way to help Tomura reach his full potential would be to step out of his life and get himself arrested
hasn’t even seen his other son, Izuku, since he was a baby! what a fucking deadbeat smdh
but on the other hand, he does seem supportive and indulgent towards Tomura and gives him lots of praise and encouragement
8. Endeavor
dad score - 39/100
abused his kid
abused his kid’s mom, in front of his kid
you wouldn’t even know it, but he actually has other kids, whom he never seems to acknowledge or pay even the slightest attention to whatsoever!
only had kids in the first place so he could raise his kids to beat All Might. has no problem telling this to said kids and even to All Might’s own face
having said that, the only reason his score isn’t in the negatives is because as of chapter 165, it seems like maybe? possibly? he just might be trying for the first time ever. or like. trying to try. if you can count showing up to Shouto’s supplemental course to shout “SHOOOOOOOOOOUUUUTOOOOOOOOO” at him from the stands as trying. but like, I feel like he is attempting to be encouraging. it doesn’t mean he’s not still a piece of shit, but if the guy is trying to be better then, like, it’s better than him not trying, you know?
but he’s still terrible
7. Kurogiri
dad score - 60/100
Tomura’s Actual Dad
is calm, rational, polite, and a respected doctor of medicine (probably) (idk you guys I just still get that vibe)
took Tomura and all the other kids on a character-building trip to Villain Island in an omake from chapter 149 which I consider to be canon
there’s nothing more dadlike than taking your kids camping and trying to teach them how to survive in the wilderness
taught Tomura how to get along with others
always seems to have his back, which is real important you guys
6. Gran Torino
dad score - 70/100
not the best score but a C is still respectable. mostly it’s just cuz he was out of the picture for so long. although we’ve since found out that Toshinori by his own admission had a habit of pushing away people who cared about him, so that may have had something to do with it
cares a lot about Toshinori even though he’s shit at showing it
made him into a man by beating the shit out of him until he got super strong
was right there in the thick of things with Toshinori during both of his fights against All for One. he straight up risked his life to back him up against the strongest villain alive
took it in stride when he found out he had a grandson that he’d never met, and took him under his wing as well and raised him for like three whole days and taught him how to use a microwave
5. Ochako’s Dad
dad score - 80/100
I probably should have given him a higher score, honestly. he seems really sweet. he’s probably a better dad than Bakugou’s Dad tbh, but Bakudad gets the edge just for the much steeper difficulty level. because let’s be honest, there’s a biiiig difference between raising a sweet baby angel like young Ochako, and raising a sentient roman candle with a potty mouth
but he works so hard to make ends meet, and somehow he and his wife managed to scrimp and save enough to send Ochako to U.A. because they wanted her to follow her dreams and they want the best for her
and they’ve always been so supportive of her on like the three occasions we’ve seen them in flashbacks or talking to her over the phone or visiting her after the sports festival
look at this thumbs up though
Tumblr media
tell me that’s not the most dad thing you’ve ever seen in your fucking life
4. Bakugou’s Dad
dad score - 82/100
has like two lines in the entire series, but
as previously mentioned, raised Bakugou Katsuki and somehow survived to tell the tale. so honestly he probably deserves some kind of medal
also, since we know virtually nothing about him other than what was in the omake profile from volume 11, I’ve been imagining him as being kind of like Calvin’s Dad from Calvin and Hobbes
Tumblr media
so he gets bonus points for that positive association
really there’s no reason for him to be this high up tbh except that I firmly believe he’s a great dad and I’m just waiting for canon to prove me right. I’ll be right here waiting, manga
3. RockLockRock
dad score - 90/100
Tumblr media
he’s awesome
also, look. being a hero is inherently dangerous. you never know where you’re going to get called to next, and any mission could end up being your last. injuries and trauma go hand-in-hand with the job. most of the hero characters we’ve seen don’t have families, and I have to assume that’s not a coincidence. so to me, all of this means that if a hero character actually does go through with starting a family, it means they wanted that family more than anything, and you can bet they freaking love the shit out of said family. I have no doubt that RLR is and will continue to be an amazing dad
plus his kid is just too damn cute
2. Aizawa
dad score - 95/100
first of all, if this was a ranking of Hottest BnHA Dads, you better believe he’d be at the very top and it would be no contest
he has 20 kids and somehow he’s able to handle each and every one of them
risked his life to save the kids barely two weeks into the school year with no hesitation, even though he nearly died
did the same thing again barely two months later. this time thankfully without the nearly dying
has the total respect and trust of each and every kid in his class. and considering the personalities of some of them, that’s no small feat
specifically, it says a lot that even Bakugou doesn’t give him any lip and always listens to him without complaint and is even polite
speaking of Bakugou, he defended him to that Jerk Reporter during the Hideout Raid arc and proved that he understands his students better than anyone
isn’t afraid to deal out strict discipline when the situation calls for it, but it’s always for the students’ own good
isn’t above trolling the shit out of his kids on occasion when he feels like it
is good with kids of all ages and not just teenagers, as evidenced by how good he also was with Kouta during the forest invasion arc
lastly, as we saw in chapter 136, he has an untold repertoire of secret dad moves just waiting to be unleashed, such as (a) crouching down to a seated Deku’s eye level, and (b) gently punching him in the chest while affectionately calling him by a nickname. who knows what other moves this man has in reserve. I for one can’t wait to see more
1. All Might
dad score - 96/100
indisputable best dad. A+. although even he didn’t get a perfect score, because nobody is perfect and there’s always room for improvement
always knows exactly what to say. despite constantly seeming to stress about it. probably he only stresses because he cares so much and he’s worried about doing things exactly right
loving father to the two most difficult children in the whole series, Midoriya “which bones did you break this time” Izuku, and Bakugou “like I said, anyone who even attempts to parent this child automatically deserves a medal” Katsuki
this man literally got down on his hands and knees and begged Deku’s mom to let him try to be the Best Dad Ever to her child. he loves him so fucking much
gives THE best dad hugs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I need more All Might hugs
honorable mentions:
Nighteye (I forgot about him until after I had already made the list and was too lazy to go back and insert him in his rightful place at number 3. 92/100. loses points for FUCKING DYING AND MAKING ME CRY)
Fat Gum (same deal as Nighteye in that I forgot about him. 75/100. he’s loving and jolly and gives out free candy, but he let Kirishima get all beat up. BE MORE CAREFUL NEXT TIME)
Vlad King (haven’t seen his dad skills in action much, but according to his profile he’s nicer to his kids than Aizawa is. okay but DID HE NEARLY MAKE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR THEM though. because Aizawa did. 85/100)
Present Mic (not a dad. is at best a Weird Uncle. 70/100)
Jirou’s Dad (I forgot about him too lol. he’s a wacky dad who likes to rock and roll! he tried to be a Stern Dad to impress All Might and Aizawa but failed miserably. took his wife’s last name!! so secure in his own masculinity. wants his daughter to live her best life and follow her passions. 93/100. he’s fucking great)

The Split a Long Time Coming
Here’s @villainmonth‘s 10th prompt, “Betrayal.” I had to edit this in a hurry, and am still not happy with how it turned out. Feel free to give me constructive criticism.
Read also on FF and AO3
“You want me to help you capture WHO????”
Tomura blinked. “I want you to come up with a plan to capture Katsuki Bakugo. Probably at the UA hero course’s summer training camp, since they won’t expect us then.”
Izuku stared at Tomura. “Why? What possible goal would it serve?”
“Recruitment,” Tomura explained. “You saw how he acted in the sports festival. He’s a kindred spirit, and his quirk would be useful to the league.”
Izuku still couldn’t couldn't comprehend Tomura's plan. “Throwing a tantrum for not winning a competition the way they wanted to doesn’t mean that person will join your League of Villains. Ka- Bakugo joined the hero course for a reason. He’s not going to willingly join people he knows are villains!”
“We’ll convince him once we have him. After all, Sensei and I have done it before.”
Izuku clenched his fist. He didn't need a reminder of how he joined the League. “That took 8 years, Tomura. There’s no way you’ll be able to keep Kachan that long. Even if he isn’t able to break out on his own, the heroes will be actively looking for him.” He was so angry, Izuku didn’t even notice he’d accidentally called Bakugo by his childhood nickname.
“We can handle any heroes that get close enough. And what does this Kachan person have to do with anything? Wasn’t that the name of your childhood bully?” Tomura said.
Izuku took a deep breath. He’d been terrified by the thought of Kachan coming after him when he was a kid, so of course Tomura had picked up on that. “Kachan is what I called Bakugo when we were kids. They’re one in the same. That's why I wanted to handle him myself during our USJ attack.”
Tomura gave Izuku a calculating look. They were both in the bar area, so several of the other members were watching their exchange. The whole room was silent, except for running water from Kurogiri cleaning dishes.
Tomura shrugged. “Well, whatever. You need to get over it anyway. I’m sure you’ll work it out once you start working together.”
Wow, you're a huge hypocrite. Tomura was still holding a grudge against the society that hadn’t helped him twelve years ago, and he was telling Izuku to just “get over it?” Then again, he rarely took Izuku’s feelings or needs into account.
Enough is enough.
“I won’t do it.”
Tomura narrowed his eyes. “What did you say?”
“I won’t help you capture Kachan. And if you do, I won’t work with him. If you intend to bring Katsuki Bakugo into the League of Villains, then I’ll leave.”
“You wouldn’t dare. You have nowhere else to go. Sensei has been providing for you all this time.”
“Doesn’t matter. I won’t be your puppet anymore.”
Tomura lunged at Izuku, hands ready to strike. “You little…”
On a normal day, Izuku would have flinched, backed away, and groveled. If Izuku hadn’t been able to get away in time, Kurogiri would have opened portals where Toura’s hands were to stop the fight. But today, Izuku realized he didn’t have to grovel. He’d spent years watching how Tomura fought and he knew the best way to stop Tomura’s quirk.
Izuku pulled out a pen from his notebook -- there were always two attached to it, in case one ran out of ink -- and held it firmly by one end. Careful to keep his body parts out of Tomura’s immediate reach, he threaded the tip of the pen through Tomura’s thumb and index finger. In the same motion, he threaded the pen tip out through the middle and ring fingers. This not only allowed Izuku to block Tomura’s hand, but also kept the index and middle fingers from wrapping around the same thing as the rest of his hand.
Someone gasped on the other side of the room.
Tomura was clearly angry at this, and continued to attack with his other hand. Izuku simply used his other pen to repeat the block.
For the first time, Izuku and Tomura were on equal footing in a fight. Izuku may not be able to do anything to attack, but neither could Tomura. He’d forced a deadlock.
Tomura grit his teeth. “You quirkless brat…”
“I’m not a brat anymore,” Izuku replied.
A scratchy voice interrupted from the TV. “Izuku Midoriya, you know that Tomura Shigaraki is meant to be the leader of the League of Villains. It’s your duty to do as he asks.”
“So, Sensei finally decides to intercede.” Izuku said with a slight laugh. “Always happy to remind me where my place is, but never willing to correct Tomura’s behaviour.”
“Izuku, if you continue to rebel like this, you’ll never recieve a quirk of your own.” All For One reminded him.
That made Izuku stop and think. Tomura took this opportunity to get out of Izuku’s block, but didn’t try to attack again. Clearly he thought Izuku had been cowed by All For One.
In reality, Izuku had been anything but cowed. Hearing All For One’s constant offer once again made him think about his reasons for staying. At first, it was because he had no choice. All For One was an all-powerful god-villain, and a quirless kid couldn’t do anything but follow him. As time went on, All For One continued to remind Izuku that he had the power to give Izuku a quirk, but that he wouldn’t do it until Izuku had fulfilled some arbitrary requirement.
But now, Izuku knew better. All For One isn’t all-powerful. He isn't even nearby. I'm not a kid anymore, and have proven himself more than capable of doing my own thing.
And he finally realized that he’d never do enough to deserve a quirk in All For One’s eyes.
Izuku grit his teeth. “Screw that! I don’t need a quirk. I’ve always wanted one, but after years of learning to fight with weapons and managing your criminal empire, I don’t need it. I don’t need you. And I definitely don’t need to continue living in Tomura’s shadow.”
Izuku grabbed his notebook and started walking out the door. “I’m going to make my own path. It may not be ‘good’ or ‘righteous’ by society’s standards, but at least it will be my own choice.”
And so, Izuku walked out the door without even looking back. He half expected to see a black portal blocking his way, but for some reason nobody - not even Kurogiri - made any effort to stop him.
------------------
Once Izuku was out of that bar, his thoughts cleared and he was able to think rationally. He didn’t have anything except for two pens, a notebook, and the clothes off his back. He may have made a show of leaving on the spot, but he really should have grabbed some of his supplies. Especially his gun and knife.
Izuku also realized that he was being followed.
He turned around. “If you’re here to make me come back, you can forget it.”
Dabi, one of the two who were following him, said, “Fuck no. I never liked handjob.”
Toga, Izuku’s other shadow, just giggled. “Silly Izuku! Can’t you tell we want to go with you?”
Izuku looked at them in confusion. “Go with me? But -- I mean -- Honestly, I don’t have a plan for what to do now.”
Dabi rolled his eyes. “Yeah, well your improv is probably a lot better than whatever Shigaraki comes up with. I may not have done anything with him yet, but I can already tell that.”
“Izukun, Dabi and I joined the league because we wanted to follow Stainy’s ideology.” Toga explained. “We heard from Uraraka that Stain liked you but didn’t get along with Shigy. So, it makes that we should stick by you!”
Izuku blinked. What Toga was saying made sense. He’d always felt like Shigaraki was a fraud for mooching off Stain’s reputation when he didn’t believe in the man’s ideals. Stain had wanted to fix society and their heroes. Shigaraki just wanted to destroy everything.
Izuku would much rather fix society than just mindly destroy it.
“Are you sure about this?” Izuku asked them. “I’m not trying to dissuade you, but right now we don’t have any resources. There’s only three of us, and I don’t even have my usual weapons.”
Toga looked up and smiled. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that.”
Izuku turned around. It was Uraraka, a few feet above his head, slowly floating down to the ground, holding several backpacks filled to the brim.
“Hey Deku!” Uraraka said, smiling at Izuku.
“Uraraka!” Izuku gasped. “Wha-What are you doing here?”
“Obviously, I came to join you along with Toga and Dabi,” she explained as she touched down. “By the way, Spinner is coming too. He’s just grabbing some final things before crawling down the walls.”
“Bu-But what about your debt to Sensei? Your mom?” Izuku asked.
“Honestly, I’ve already done plenty for All For One.” Uraraka shrugged. “I gave up my future as a hero or ordinary citizen and have been working for him for about a year now. I told my mom to go into hiding as soon as I started working as a villain, so he won’t be able to touch her. I want to choose from now on, and I chose you Deku.”
Izuku could feel happy tears welling up in his eyes. “You guys…”
“Oh, and I grabbed as much of your stuff as I could. Same for Dabi and Toga.” Uraraka held out the backpacks for each of them to take. “I couldn't get your notebooks, but I did get your laptop and weapons.”
Izuku checked in his backpack. It was better than he’d hoped. Not only did Uraraka get his laptop and knife, but she got his gun and two boxes of bullets. The notebooks weren't a big deal; he knew them by heart.
“Yay! Bestie got my blood-sucking machine!” Toga cheered, tackling Uraraka with a hug.
Dabi didn’t comment on the contents of his backpack, but he didn’t really have much gear.
Spinner came crawling along the wall towards them. “Do you mind if I join?”
“Spinner!” Izuku said. “Of course, you’re welcome.”
Once he was close enough to the ground, Spinner jumped down from the wall and handed a piece of paper to Izuku. “I don’t know what this is or if it’s a trap, but Kurogiri told me to give this to you before he let me leave.”
Izuku frowned as he took the paper. Kurogiri was fiercely loyal to All For One. He may have given Izuku some of his attention, but Izuku was sure he’d always choose Tomura over Izuku. Still, he read the writing on the paper.
There’s an empty warehouse at the following address. The Master doesn’t use it anymore because he has no business in that area, but it may be a suitable place to stay until you get your feet on the ground. The key is hidden in the bushes next to the front door.
Underneath it was an address near Musutafu.
Izuku smirked. It wasn’t much, but it was something he could start with. If he got more successful he’d probably try to find another hideout, but at least now they had a place to stay.
“Come on guys. We have work to do.”

Friendly Neighbourhood Red Riot - krbkweek2019 Day 2
Rating: Teen & Up Warnings: None Pairing: Kiribaku Summary: A vigilante hero calling himself 'Red Riot' has been causing quiet a stir, and Detectives Bakugou and Midoriya have been tasked with hunting him down.
For the @krbkweek2k19
Read on A03
It starts with Deku, slapping a newspaper down onto Katsuki’s desk on a rainy Monday morning.
“Red Riot - Neighbourhood hero, or public menace?”
The headline states, and Katsuki scoffs at the thought of calling the masked troublemaker a ‘hero’.
“He’s started to gain a following.” Deku says, pointing at the blurry picture that accompanies the headline.
“No shit.” Katsuki pushes the paper away in disgust. The guy calling himself ‘Red Riot’ was probably just a kid looking for some sort of attention, and he was getting it. Twitter had been going crazy for weeks, with people from their city posting grainy videos of the ‘vigilante’ fighting crime. And now apparently the newspapers had caught wind of what was happening, and wanted in on the action. Soon, the whole city would be talking about the so called hero.
“Bakugou! Midoriya! My office.” Deku’s eyes widen at the order yelled across the busy precinct.
“Yes sir!”
Katsuki rolls his eyes, but follows the nerd into the captain’s office.
Aizawa barely glances up from his papers as they enter, telling them to take a seat after a moment of uncomfortable silence.
“I’m assuming you both know about the man calling himself Red Riot?” They nod, Katsuki accompanying his with a scowl. “The higher-ups think he’s a cause for concern, and to be honest, I don’t care enough to argue with them. I want him found, got it?”
Great, Katsuki thinks, he’s being relegated to babysitting duties instead of actual police work.
He goes to argue, but surprisingly, Deku beats him to it.
“I understand why the higher-ups want him off the streets but sir, I’m not sure what we can even do to stop him? It’s not like he’s doing anything illegal, he’s just…” Deku flounders for a second under Aizawa’s cool gaze. “...getting in the way a bit?”
“Two of the criminals he has previously captured sustained minor physical injuries, and want to press charges, should we capture him. As of this morning, there’s a warrant out for his arrest. The DA will most likely let him off with a slap on the wrist, but his capture will hopefully deter any copycats wanting to get a piece of the action.” Aizawa levels them both with a calculating stare. “I understand both of you are more used to homicide and drug cases, but I’m trusting you to bring this guy in. Don’t disappoint me.”
“Yes sir,” both detectives chorus at the same time, Deku slightly more enthusiastic.
They make their way over to their desks again, Katsuki flopping down into his seat and groaning at the prospect of trying to hunt this fucker down.
“Cheer up, Kacchan.” Deku tells him, pulling up his own chair to Katsuki’s desk. They’ve done this so many times, it’s second nature to both of them at this point. “If we just treat this as a missing persons case, we’ll find him in no time.”
“No, that won’t work,” Katsuki frowns at the thought, “With a missing person, we already know who the hell we’re looking for; their family, friends, where they live, and work. But we don’t have anything on this guy.” Katsuki gestures at the newspaper still in front of them on his desk.
Deku stares at it, getting a fire in his eyes that always tends to make Katsuki a little nervous, not that he’d ever admit it. Deku can be very intense sometimes.
“I wouldn’t say we have nothing.” Deku says slowly. “In fact, I think we have more than enough to begin our investigation. The whole city is watching out for Red Riot, and people post online wherever they spot him.”
Katsuki dreads to think where this is going. “You really think we should find whackos on the internet as witnesses?”
“It’s a logical place to start.” Deku shrugs, “Even if not all of them are telling the truth, I’m sure we’ll find at least some people that can give us an accurate statement.”
Katsuki doesn’t give Deku the satisfaction of telling him he’s right. Katsuki can already sense this entire case is going give him one hell of a headache.
-
Deku suggests they start by mapping every picture and video taken of Red Riot. It’s a good first step, if a bit tedious, and confirms a suspicion Katsuki had been entertaining since being put on the case; the majority of Red Riot’s appearances are centered around their precinct and the surrounding area, leading both detectives to believe he’s a local in their part of the city.
“Now that we have that confirmed, we can move on to individual sightings.” Deku says, eyes flicking over the cluster of red pins currently sticking out of the map attached to Katsuki’s corkboard. “But I have no idea where to start.”
“Needs to be somewhere public,” Katsuki chips in, “Much higher chance of him being caught on security cameras, instead of shitty cell phones.”
Deku hums in agreement, still looking over the map. Katsuki rolls his eyes, knowing that he’s the one that will make this judgement call. Deku is rather indecisive when it comes to investigation, where as in the field he’s usually the first into action, Katsuki being the one to plan out their strategy. Aizawa tells them it’s why they make such a great team, but Katsuki is convinced that it has more to do with the fact they basically grew up joined at the hip.
“The corner of Prince Avenue, we’ll go there first.” Katsuki says firmly, “There’s a coffee shop right next to the area of the sighting, plus a jewelry store across the street. Should be able to get at least something.”
“Great idea Kacchan!” Deku chirps loudly, earning a couple of rolled eyes from the officers working closest to them.
“Yeah, yeah, let’s just go. Sooner we catch this guy the sooner we can get back to regular cases.”
“Only you would be excited to get back to gruesome murders.” Deku says lightly, and Katsuki punches him in the shoulder.
“Shut up, nerd.”
-
When they arrive at Prince Avenue, they decide to split up, with Deku instantly calling the coffee shop lead, and leaving Katsuki with the jewellery store. Deku is as predictable as ever, and Katsuki makes him promise to get a decaf frappe-latte-mocha whatever the fuck Deku’s usual order is. The only thing worse than being forced to work a useless case, is being forced to work a useless case with Deku jacked up on caffeine.
Katsuki strides into the jewellery store, and right up to the counter. The assistant has a customer service smile on his face as he greets him, which instantly drops as soon as Katsuki produces his badge from his back pocket.
“I need to speak to whoever’s in charge.”
“I’ll go and get my manager,” the assistant scuttles off, and Katsuki takes a moment to look around. The store is right opposite their area of interest, and he silently prays the manager will give him any recordings without him having to request a warrant.
The assistant returns with an older lady who he guesses is the person he needs to speak to. He flashes his badge again, and the woman grimaces.
“I’m not entirely sure what this is about officer…?”
“Detective Bakugou,” Katsuki introduces himself emphasising his title. “And I’m here investigating an assault that happened outside your store about two weeks ago. Are there any security cameras set up outside the store?”
“Yes, we have two cameras facing the street,” the lady confirms.
“Great, can I have a look?”
The lady considers him for a second, but eventually nods. “I don’t see why not.”
After around 30 minutes of scrolling through footage, Katsuki finds what he’s after, only to be disappointed. The video quality is hardly any better than the cellphone footage they already have from twitter, and most of the fight takes place out of frame.
Katsuki downloads the content anyway, hoping that Deku has had better luck with the coffee shop.
He finds the nerd sitting at the counter, sipping on a beverage that looks like it’s made up entirely of whipped cream.
“-ended up being punished for it! Can you believe that?!” Deku was saying to the barista behind the counter, who seemed to be listening attentively whilst polishing a latte glass.
“Well, that’s hardly fair. He started it!”
“I know, right?” Deku laughs, and Katsuki has heard enough to know what this conversation is about.
“You gave as good as you got, nerd. You deserved those push-up drills as much as I did.”
Deku whips around at his voice. “Kacchan! I didn’t think you’d be done so quick.”
“Place was a bust,” he informs Deku as he sits in the stool next him. “What about this place? Or have you been too busy fueling your addiction to do your job?”
Deku pouts at him, gesturing to his drink. “It’s decaf, I swear.”
Bakugou looks towards the barista, hoping for some confirmation, but the guy is just watching them, an amused look on his face.
“So you must be the partner Izuku was telling me about, huh?”
It’s so typical of Deku to be on a first name basis with a coffee shop barista he only met 30 minutes ago.
“Unfortunately.” Katsuki responds dryly, and the barista laughs.
“I was actually doing my job Kacchan,” Deku defends. “The manager won’t be back for another ten minutes, but Eijirou here was actually working when the assault happened, and we were talking about it.”
“And somehow you managed to turn an interview with a witness into a bitch fest?” Katsuki questions, and Deku flushes brightly.
“You shouldn’t be too hard on him, I was the one who asked about his partner,” the barista says lightly, and Katsuki can’t help but let his gaze flit over the man in front of him, suddenly curious about their first potential eye witness.
He seems to be as tall as Katsuki, with a stocky build. Katsuki could tell he works out more than the average person, muscles bulging underneath the tight shirt of his barista uniform. His hair was tied back, and covered in a tacky flame pattern bandana. His smile was laidback and friendly looking, but there was something about his eyes that had Katsuki on edge, almost as if he was-
“Kacchan!” Deku was waving a hand in front of his face. “Eijirou is trying to talk to you, stop staring into space!”
Katsuki snaps back to attention, shoving Deku’s hand out of his face.
“Alright already!”
Eijirou is failing to hold back a laugh at their display, and Katsuki inwardly prays their “unprofessional attitude” doesn’t make it back to Aizawa. Again.
“I was just going to ask if you wanted to order anything, but it looks like you might really need the caffeine.” Eijirou speculates, amusement sparkling in his eyes.
Katsuki glares at him, and he hears Deku snorting into his hand.
“I’ll have a green tea.” Katsuki says petulantly.
Eijirou chuckles again, pulling a mug down from a shelf, “Coming right up!”
As Eijirou sets to work, Katsuki turns to Deku, who is still trying to hold in a laugh.
“Where do you find these freaks?” Katsuki mutters in jest, and Deku slaps him on the shoulder.
“You’re just jealous I can actually make friends with people.”
“Shut up, Deku.”
They spend the remainder of the time waiting for the coffee shop’s manager discussing what Katsuki had gained from the jewellery store. Deku seemed just as disappointed by the lack of new information, but was annoyingly optimistic about the potential evidence that the coffee shop cameras might reveal.
Katsuki sips on his green tea, listening to Deku babble about potential leads. With any luck, they'll have this case solved within the day.
