i haven't bothered to watch this video but based on the preview it seems they're saying that the hyper extended trot in dressage is abuse?
I hope we can all understand that the riding you do in video games has no real basis in reality, so I won't even touch on that beyond noting that this is what the extended trot looks like in the video game:
There is zero contact with that horse's mouth, lol. Also, not a dressage saddle. I assume it's due to the limits of what you can design in a video game. So no one should be learning how to ride dressage from a video game.
However, the hyperextended trot is not abuse, it's just a flashy thing bred into warmbloods at this point, like how hackney ponies naturally have high-stepping trots. Dressage judges love it, even though it often results in poor dressage.
Dressage is full of abuse, most notably what we call "rolkur", which is forcing a horse's face into its chest. This can actually affect their breathing and can result in the sudden "blowups" you occasionally see of horses in the dressage ring, often caused by low oxygen to the brain (thus resulting in reactivity and confusion). It's very bad!
The video actually does point this out, but for whatever reason they focus on the toe flick instead of the news headline they actually show on screen, which yes, are actual abuse and a big problem in competitive dressage.
The video does discuss rolkur. But the video game doesn't show rolkur?? This horse's head is actually high by dressage standards, not pinned to its chest at all. Why would it be, you could drive a house through the loop in this rider's reins lol.
And honestly, its extended trot looks fine. There are much worse examples of how the toe flick can result in bad dressage. With the trot, you want to see full engagement from the HIND end, which means your horse must be driving itself from the rear. This should result in a hind leg and foreleg angle that matches. See that this more or less does:
If you wanted to look at a bad example, THIS is very bad form:
Notice the angles are all out of whack. This is a horse highly engaged in the FRONT, not the behind.
There ARE highly extended trots that are still GOOD extended trots. Look at this Andalusian
The toe is UP, but that hind leg is right there with it. This horse is still driving itself from the hind. Just because the trot is animated doesn't make it bad.
this disconnect is why you'll find graphics made by classic dressage people that look like this. There is a faction of (objectively correct) dressage riders who have come to associate the toe flick with bad dressage, but it's not necessarily always true.
These issues crop up in the piaffe, as well. The piaffe is the most extreme form of collection, and with all things dressage, should be driven by the HIND end. This means that a horse is so collected, so driven by its hind legs, that it basically "sits" back on them, which is why the Lipizzaners then continue onto the Levade.
(This is not a rear; it's a dressage movement only highly trained and conditioned horses can do)
So if you don't have that hind end motoring you, you end up with a piaffe that looks like this, which is... bad.
compare it to the form of the correct piaffe, where a horse is almost "sitting down" in the back.

THAT is a classically trained horse; you can see the slack in the reins, so you know his head isn't cranked in. He's also a Portugese breed (Lusitano), and both Lusitanos and Andalusians have naturally animated/expressive movement that I think the warmblood world has tried to copy to mixed results (because they aren't nearly as small/compact). So you end up with toe flicks without any of the power that Andalusians/Lusitanos tend to bring with them.
However, it's not impossible to get a big horse to do proper dressage. This dude is like 18 hands. From what I can tell, he seems relaxed and happy, and his piaffes are great. The extended trot is big but still seems synced with the hind end. Notice he's not flicking his tail constantly (which can be a sign of irritation). Also, I think a lot of people seem to think a rein with contact=tight rein, but if you know what you're looking for, you can tell the difference between a cranked in rolkur rein and light contact. This guy has pretty light contact on this horse's mouth, so he's holding his head in that way because it's his natural (working) headset.

Destinn(6583) conjunct Moon: You can feel it at the first meeting that you were destined to meet. Love this aspect.
Moon conjunct Venus: I had this with a friend I met in high school. Her Venus conjunct my Moon and she was like conditioner to my soul. She made me feel so loved & we were always sickeningly sweet to eachother and complimenting eachother.
Mercury 12th house synastry: I looked up the charts of the two guys in my neighbourhood who used to snitch about me to my dad. Told my dad any rumour about me & what guys Ive been involved with etc. Both of them have their Mercury in my 12th house.💀
Chiron conjunct Personal Planets: This is common between people who have had beef for years because the wound just wont go away even tho from the beginning the beef started over something small and you want to hurt the other just as bad as they hurt you. And you think you are the only one whos hurt so you keep picking on eachother. Just hearing the others name can be triggering. Chiron can be so healing but also so incredibly painful. ❤️🩹
Composite Aries Rising: This can make the dislike or tension very obvious to others. My dad and stepmom have this and everyone knows they treat eachother badly. The first thing you notice it the tension between them. I have this with a few people who i know dislike me and i them and people notice it instantly.
Saturn in the composite chart: Saturn seems to act like glue in the composite since it rules time. It can make you stuck on someone either positively or negatively based on the rest of the chart.
Venus 8th house: Venus is fascinated by 8th house persons appearance even if house person is not their type. They might find the house person super sexy & mysterious.
8th house synastry: I love 8th house synastry but whats so sad is that one of you will transform by this relationship and after a while you are not the same people you were before. There is a risk of just being a ”lesson” in eachothers life. But when its meant to last its wonderful.
8th house synastry: Another thing I find annoying with 8th house synastry is when I can tell someone doesnt like me but still is allll up in my face bc they have planets in my 8th house and therefore have some kind of weird obsession/fascination going on.
Ascendant Square Ascendant: Me and my dad have this in synastry and we just dont get eachothers behoviour. Like WHY are you behaving like that?
Dislike for no reason: I dont really believe in ”dislike for no reason” because I think there is always something behind disliking someone otherwise you need serious help but everytime someone disliked me for seemingly no reason there was harsh Mars Squares involved or 12th house synastry. Especially their Mars Squaring or Opposite my Sun or Moon.
Different energies & misunderstandings: Me and my dad have good synastry but he is very fire dominant and Im very water dominant. He sees my need for alone time and shyness as something unattractive. For him people are supposed to be brave, confident, social and loud otherwise you are insecure and weird. For me I find quiet confidence attractive but he sees it as not having confidence at all.
Venus conjunct Pluto: This is someone I used to go to yoga with. She was much older than me. The first time I saw her I was like WOW, thats the hottest women Ive ever seen. My Pluto was conjunct her Venus.
Venus conjunct Nemesis(128): Seen this in the synastry chart between two bestfriends where the nemesis person were secretly messing around with the Venus person boyfriend. She was an enemy(nemesis) when it came to love(venus).
Composite Sun conjunct Pluto: Intense! I have this with the woman I had the most dirty beef with for years. But I also have it with some guy I had a very beautiful and intense bond with.
Lilith conjunct Mars: Lilith would fight anyone for the Mars person.
Moon 5th house: Ive seen this very often lead to the Moon person idealizing the 5th house person a lot.
4th house synastry/composite: This can mean you enjoy a very ”down to earth” life together. I know some people with this who just like to do gardening, cooking, decorating the home and stuff like that together. They dont feel a strong need to go out and do stuff to enjoy eachothers company. 👨👩👦🪴

Sequel to my "Best (human) boy for periods" ranking; here comes the worsties (Affectionate)
Ace - Ultimate teenage boy(tm), is gonna make a big stink and fuss over how he doesn't wanna hear about you being on or think about it. "No poops, no farts, no periods"! kinda guy. He'll get better when he's older but in your first year as friends? He's gonna tease and antagonise you. If you're the emotional type when you'er on, you can turn the tables on him by crying and getting the whole class to go "Wow, what an asshole" at him for the rest of the week tho.
Vil - This guy holes everyone to the same standards as him, fully believing everyone can give 110% at all times. He's gonna come at you about how just because you're on the rag doesn't mean you can start snacking on chocolate bars all the time (or any comfort food). He WILL critique your skincare routine if your skin breaks out. One day he'll look back at how he treated you and thank Rook for literally carrying him away from you before you killed him.
Epel - Not really his fault, but considering his "old fashioned" upbringing, things like periods were just Not Discussed, even between the women in his family, so Epel's first reaction to learning that you're on is just a sound "I didn't hear that" slowly evolving into a "Why tf are you telling me this?" (Because I bled through my trousers and can't get up from this chair Epel, jeez). Just will not engage with the subject at hand.
Deuce - More of an inbetween than actually the worst(tm), he earns a lot of brownie points for wanting to help you and is the type to panic buy every item on the shelf. BUT! if you're the type to get moody or aggressive when you're on, he's instinctively gonna meet aggression with aggression and you two will have to be seperated for a while.
Idia - Just straight up wont deal with it, he'll send Ortho to help you. Best you're gonna get from this guy is a "RIP LMAO" when you text him that you're on :(
Honorable mention: Silver. Not his fault either, but being raised in a predominantly fairy based family unit, periods are an alien concept to him. Won't really understand what's going on when you try to explain it to him, and with Lilia as his main guide, is gonna make a LOT of mistakes before he gets things right but he get's a lot of points for trying to help. Might even use his UM to see into your dreams/memories to get a feel for what it's like, just so he can better know how to help you.
Aww, see I get that it would be realistic for some of the boys to be immature and get grossed out, but it's a fantasy world! Maybe my fantasy is that the boys are semi-educated on the human body and are gonna support me during my periods 😭
I really think both Vil and Deuce should be given more credit, though. Vil is very in touch with his femininity, and doesn't really disrespect others unless they disrespect him or cause trouble, based on his interactions with others at least. I think he'd be excellent because he can make the best pain potions for your cramps, and might be willing to give you tips on how to care for your skin during your hormonal periods. But only if he likes you.
Deuce was raised only by his mama, and based on what I know of her from the JP event, she def gives off the vibes of "I'm teaching my son how to care and respect women." He'd probably understand that you're not being aggressive with him for the sake of it, you emotions are being messed with due to all the hormones fluctuating in your body. But I do agree that he is the type to panic buy one of everything to help you out.
The others, I can see it, though I would like to this that Epel's case is less of being raised old-fashioned (nothing about him and the way he interacts with others screams old-fashioned to me), and more of being one of the few young people in a town of old people. The folk that can have periods don't because they've probably gone through menopause! It doesn't occur to them that he should probably know about periods!!!
Ace and Idia are just immature and dumb and I love them. Also, rip Silver, he's never interacted with another human outside of Sebek's dad.
Anyways my headcanon for the TWST universe is that they actually teach biology and anatomy so people aren't taught to know nothing about things like periods. Cause that's stupid why do we do that?

It was your eyes that made him attracted to you. It shine like the stars. Your eyes twinkle and had actual stars in it. Everyone agreed that the unique things about you is your eyes. They said that your eyes were like the stars dancing around the ocean waves.
"You do shine. You shine more than other people." He responded to your question with a smile. He wish that this moment last forever but the world isn't fair.

author's note: this is such a cute request, I really loved writing it! I actually wrote Gaara finding out his s/o is pregnant, where I kind of covered how he will be during the pregnancy, so I decided to cover only Neji, Kiba and Shino for this one. Hope you enjoy! <3
➤ Neji
Given this is Neji we are talking about, I assume his s/o's pregnancy was more or less planned.
He and his partner have been trying to conceive for a while, since they've been married for a year already and the elders of his clan were already pestering them about children.
So when his s/o told him they are pregnant, he felt both rush of excitement and relief.
Probably one of the calmest and most composed men when it comes to his partner's pregnancy.
I imagine he has been preparing for this moment for a while by reading various books, consulting with some of the older women of his clan, as well doing his own research during his free time.
Definitely more ready and knowledgeable than his s/o about it.
I have always been of the opinion that Neji is very traditional guy, who dreams of having a family of his own.
As such, he is overprotective from Day 1.
He will accompany his s/o everywhere, help them with chores and would try to stop them from doing any missions straight away, worried that the risk of losing either of them is way too big. (I say try, because he will probably be unsuccessful till the last few months)
Has a tendency to be a bit paranoid and scold his s/o if he ever see them doing even something by themselves.
I feel his s/o would find all his efforts and worries somewhat adorable in the beginning, but as their pregnancy progress and their hormones start going crazy, they will start losing their patience with him.
I imagine the second half of the pregnancy may be a bit stressful for both of you (and everyone around you tbh!), since his s/o won't hold back their complaints about Neji's behaviour and in turn he will be annoyed about why is his s/o angry, when all he tries to do is to take care of them.
Treats his partner like an absolute ROYALTY tho
His s/o want a silk pillowcase, because otherwise they can't fall asleep? He will go around the whole Hyuga compound to find them one.
His s/o is craving his famous vanilla ice cream in the middle of the night? He is spending the hours preparing it from scratch for them.
Overall, his s/o's pregnancy would go quite easy, as he is very attentive and already knows quite a bit about what to expect and how to handle his s/o's mood swings.

Where do I even start with this one?
Initially, when his s/o told him they were pregnant, he was absolutely perplexed.
He knew they were not always super strict with the protection, but so far they have always been safe from incidents.
Like, he is not against becoming a dad - quite the opposite, he would love to have a house FULL with little Inuzuka babies, BUT he just was not sure he was ready at that point.
He is not really sure how to prepare tho?
Unlike Neji, he is not in the mood to go around and spend days reading boring books about childbirth and pregnancies, neither he felt comfortable talking with his family about it.
I imagine he is the type of guy that just grab his s/o's hand and give them a reassuring smile, saying: "It's okay, we are going to figure it out together!"
And they do. The beginning is a bit messy, both him and his s/o don't really know what to expect and if they should expect anything at all at this early stage.
I don't think he is going to treat his partner any differently, because for the first few months they look pretty much the same as before, so in his mind they should be perfectly capable to continue going on missions, do chores etc.
His s/o's period of throwing up almost every night and feeling sick every time they take a bite of food COMPLETELY throws him off and he is phoning Sakura almost every day, asking her to come to his house and check his s/o
When his partner gets their mood swings, their house becomes almost like a battlefield - poor man doesn't really know why his s/o is behaving that way and would constantly be baffled by his s/o's behaviour
"Why are you screaming at me? Don't you dare throwing that pillow-Ow! Dammit!"
I imagine that he will have to seek his mother's and sister's help in the later stage of the pregnancy, it is just TOO MUCH to handle
That doesn't stop him from wanting to have another kid pretty soon after his s/o gives birth to their first one - now that he has seen how they glow when they are pregnant, he plans to keep them like that quite often
➤ Shino
Our favourite boy Shino... his s/o is honestly lucky to have him during their pregnancy.
When they first told him they were pregnant, he didn't show much of an emotion, other than letting his lips curve in a small smile, before resting a gentle kiss against his s/o's temple.
He was definitely happy about the news, but as I always imagined him as a quite laid back individual, his reaction is actually pretty calm and relaxed compared to many other Naruto men.
In the beginning, his behaviour doesn't change much - he tries not to intervene too much with his s/o's freedom and let them do whatever they want.
If they want to continue doing missions - that's fine by him, even tho he may ask the Hokage to send him with them if possible.
If they want to stay at home - he doesn't mind taking a complete care of them, if this is how they are going to feel comfortable.
He is very attentive and always listen to his s/o's wishes and needs.
For this reason I actually think his partner is going to have pretty easy pregnancy - they would feel relaxed and comfortable in Shino's care, adopting his view that parenthood would just come naturally to them.
I don't even think they would have any pregnancy symptoms, even at the late stage - their behaviour and relationship with Shino remains pretty much the same. (I mean, even when hormonal, you can't really be angry at this softie, can you?)
Also, I imagine he may propose during his s/o pregnancy? He had always knew he wanted to officially make them their partner, so this felt like the perfect time to tie the knot tbh.

You didn't care tho, one day you'd find your way back to the infamous Larissa Weems.
And luckily for you that came just a few short years after you had graduated Nevermore and taken the teaching position that had opened up for music. That was what you were good at and it felt right, so for those years you buried yourself in work. Until the principal suddenly passed onto the next life, the new principal was appointed and that is how you came face to face with Principal Larissa Weems. Fate is a funny thing and this moment made all the comments you'd received about not dating anyone because you desired he faded away instantly.
Now you didn't really help yourself here and you know that, a shy introverted music teacher didn't really have much to offer the principal, however after months of building a friendship you finally admitted your feelings to the women. You stuttered and stumbled over your words, kicking yourself internally. This women was a literal angel and here you were making a fool of yourself. That's the number one way to make her see that you weren't worth the time of someone so goddess like. But to your surprise she found your ramblings adorable and admitted she also felt the same. And that was the birth of the romance you were in with your boss. Nothing spectacularly over the top but absolutely perfect to you.
Now considering your age most would assume you wouldn't be virgin, however the purity ring on your left ring finger screamed otherwise. Larissa had noticed it and asked you what it symbolised. You explained that it was your purity ring and it's only to be taken off after well self explanatory really? Right? Well, she was stumped for a solid few minutes before it dawned on her. You hadn't had sex before, of any kind. But why? And then you explained everything with a bright red flush adorning your cheeks, that Larissa found absolutely adorable. You fiddled with your fingers avoiding her gaze out of your embarrassment. You wanted to profusely apologise to the women, say you understand if she wishes to end things with you and that you should've told her sooner but you thought she saw the ring. Your ramblings were cut off in a sweet kiss. Your first. You were in shock and didn't really know what happened but you responded instinctively.
For months that's all that occurred, sweet kisses and gentle touches, most evenings you'd cuddle up together in front of her office fire place with a lovely glass of wine and a book. Those evenings just soaking in each other's embrace was becoming your favourite thing. And you began to wonder what the big fuss was over sex. Would it really be as others said? Would it hurt? You'd heard some horror stories over your time, but you knew with your Rissa you would be perfectly safe. And that's how you found yourself fiddling with the ring on your finger hoping to find the courage.
"Ris? I um I think no I know I want to um" you trailed off awkwardly. This didn't feel sexy or anywhere near what you thought you'd feel. "What do you want my love?" She hummed marking her page and placing the book to the side, giving you her undivided attention. "I want you to show me what it feels like to not wear this anymore" you mumbled pointing to the ring and avoiding her gaze. "Love? Are you sure? We don't have to rush darling I just want you to feel safe and ready" she reassured you reaching her hand out to gently grab at your chin, guiding you to look into her eyes. "I'm sure Ris. Show me" you murmured before she claimed your lips with hers in a kiss that you hadn't experienced yet, one that was becoming addictive. You wanted, no you needed more. So when you pulled away for some air you gasped out clutching onto the older women's shoulders,"take me to bed Rissa."
Once you had stumbled your way to her room, you immediately felt nerve's resurfacing. "Are you sure sweetheart?" She mumbled holding your back to her front in a hug she knew soothed you. "I'm sure I just I don't know what I am doing" you mumbled embarrassed by your admission. "Oh sweet girl I'll show you if you allow me to darling. I'll be gentle with you and if you ever want to stop tell me and we will instantly, no matter how far along we get okay?" Her words soothed those nerves and were met with a simple "please Larissa, show me."
Larissa made sure to worship all of your body, clothes being slowly stripped from your dorm as she placed kisses over the newly seen skin. After that night Larissa found a chain to wear the ring on, that was the one necklace that would never leave her. When teachers would inquire about it, she would just smile and say it was the most precious gift she could've had the honour of being given which caused you to blush and smile at the ground. You may have been ridiculed as a teenager but you don't regret waiting for her.

Seeing Persephone with tan skin make me feel robbed >:[
i was so confused and didn't realize right away you were talking about the old LO art i shared earlier and i was about to be like "wait since when is persephone tan" and then i was REALLY about to be like "hold up what do you have against tan persephone tho-" 😆
but yes, I do really like her older design, though I can see why she made the choices she did to make LO more "florescent" and I think it worked for it a lot in the beginning. Hades especially was a little too similar to her Doctor Pepper/Foxglove designs IMO, though that really goes to show that she has a lot more experience drawing women than men which IIRC she's admitted to in the past lol (and honestly it makes sense considering how much of her old art was of women, I don't even say that in a bad way, I get it LOL)
So as far as making LO unique, the changes she made to Persephone and Hades' designs back in 2017/18 definitely served it well, especially because at the time Webtoons really didn't have any other comics that looked like it and so it helped set it apart which it definitely owes a lot of its success to.
It doesn't really serve it so well anymore, though. The lack of effort is just making it look plastic and cheap :/ And with how big and diverse the platform is now, it just can't get away with the same tricks it used 5+ years ago.
It does make me wonder if Rachel will go back to that art style after LO though. I'm not particularly interested in reading any of her work after LO but I do think she owes it to herself to create something new because it's clear she's been worn tf out with LO for a long time now, it shows in the writing and the art.

You were the prettiest girl in the entire tribe. You were kind inside and out, amazing with kids, and had the most infectious laugh.
Neteyam’s eyes constantly lingered on you when you were in a room, he couldn't help it. You had to be handmade by Ewya, you were always so pretty, so perfect.
Neteyam would constantly be stepping over his words when he was around you or even if someone else brought you brought, “oh look, it's [Y/n],” Neteyam immediately touched his hair making sure he looked good, “where?”
Lo’ak laughed watching his older brother, “looks like someone has a crush,” Neteyam immediately covered his mouth, “shut up, asshole!” He was just finding the courage to speak with you there was no way Lo’ak was going to ruin that for him.
Lo’ak licked his palm to make him let go, “i’m just stating the facts, Neteyam! Every time she is in the same radius of you, it's like you can't even think anymore!” Neteyam hit the back of his head telling him to shut up, “you should just speak to her, like right now, [Y/N] CAN YOU HELP US WITH SOMETHING!”
Neteyam’s eyes widen, “dude are you fucking crazy,” your head face coming to them quickly, “what do you need?” you smiled at them making Neteyam’s mouth go dry. Lo’ak nudged him, “oh well, uh, you know.”
Neteyam stepped back causing him to fall, which made you laugh. “Omg are you okay?” you laughed as you tried to help him up, Neteyam was mesmerized how could you laugh and still look so perfect, “dude,” Lo’ak laughed himself.
“I’m fine!” Neteyam got up as he noticed tears puddling in your eyes, “you're so funny Teyem!” you turned to walk away, “I’ll see you both at dinner!”
“She thinks i’m funny?” Neteyam literally had hearts in his eyes, “bro you have to help me,” Neteyam followed Lo’ak who groaned, “you know how to speak to girls, please,” Lo’ak shook his head.
“I’ll do your chores for the next month, please i’m desperate,” Lo’ak thought for a minute, “next two months,” Neteyam nodded, “deal,” they shook it and Lo’ak put an arm around Neteyam, “women love gifts and a man who has a way with words.”
Neteyam nodded, “you wanna woo [Y/n]? Write her a poem, make her a gift promise you big bro, she’ll be putty in your hands.” Neteyam sighed, “what should I get her?”
“Flowers, every girl loves flowers,” Neteyam nodded, “what should I say in the poem?” Lo’ak shrugged, “talk about her best features, what makes her so pretty.”
Neteyam thought, “well, her eyes are like stars,” Lo’ak put a hand over his mouth, “I don't wanna hear about it, tell her!” Neteyam took his hand off his mouth, “whatever loser.”
“This loser just got you a mate, should be thanking me!” Kiri walked in laughing, “Your first mistake was going to that loser,” Neteyam looked at her, “I’ll take my chances.”
Neteyam stood in front of the place you were helping, he had tried to find the prettiest flowers he could but they didn't look the best, “here goes nothing.”
“Neteyam!” You waved at him as he walked over to you, “what brings you here?” Neteyam rubbed the back of his neck, “I just wanted to show you these!” he showed you the flowers, “omg who could do such a thing!”
Neteyam's mouth clamped up, “these poor flowers, you know I never understood why someone would want them as gifts.” You placed it on the table, “just a bunch of dead weeds!”
Neteyam crumbled up the poem he wrote while he smiled at you, “I was thinking the same thing!” you nodded at him, “omg i’m so glad we agree everyone else thinks I’m crazy!”
You placed your hand on Neteyam, “you know whoever ends up with you is one special girl!” you then hugged him, “see ya later!” Neteyam smiled as he watched you walk away, he was never taking advice from Lo’ak again.
“She hated them,” Neteyam hit Lo’ak in the back of the head, “how was I supposed to know?” Neteyam groaned as he heard Kiri’s laugh, “told ya!”
Neteyam got up and walked to her, “what do you think I should do? Make her another gift?” Kiri shook her head, “you're doing too much work, just tell her straight up.” Neteyam looked at her confused, “wouldn't she rather I make her a gift?”
“No, she’s a simple person, if you are honest with her I promise she’ll appreciate it more.” Neteyam nodded, “where is she now?” Kiri smiled, “probably by the storage room.” Neteyam left in a hurry to catch you, “what a fucking idiot.” Lo’ak snickered.
You were packing some food when an older woman tapped you, “be sure to be out here quick, we close the door so no one can get to the food, especially the little kids,” you smiled brightly, “okay!”
She left and you went to go put away the last few items when you saw Neteyam, “funny seeing you here!” You laughed, “what do you need this time?”
Neteyam shrugged, “oh ya know, just hanging around,” you nodded as you put the last plate of food away, “let's go do something more fun,” Neteyam went to speak but accidentally dropped cans of food, “you’re just clumsy today!”
“I guess I am!” you both bent over to pick them up, not realizing the door was covered by rocks, nobody was getting in and nobody was getting out. “I actually wanted to tell you something.”
This was the moment he was finally going to tell you how he feels, you walked towards the door before attempting to open it, but it wasn't moving. “I can't open this door.”
Neteyam went over to help, “well, you know I’ve been meaning to say this for-,” when he tried opening the door and it didn't move he shut up, “I think something blocking the door.”
“Crap, they must've thought I left already,” Neteyam noticed how you sat in defeat, “they're not coming back for another hour,” Neteyam sat down, hopefully, this works out to his benefit.
Neteyam rubbed the sweat off his forehead, he had never been so nervous in his life. “You okay over there?” you questioned him but he just smiled, “yeah just a little hot.”
“It’s cooler over here! Come sit next to me,” you patted the spot in the floor next to you which he gladly took. “Let's play a game to pass the time!” You smiled big at the idea.
Neteyam just nodded, “let's play truth or dare! I heard your dad talking about how he used to play this all the time!”
You squealed making Neteyam crack a smile, your happiness fell off you making him happy, “okay I’ll go first, truth or dare?”
Neteyam thought, “truth,” you gave him a boring face, but he was playing it safe he didn't want to end up saying anything weird and make this already awkward situation more awkward.
“Hmm, what is the thing that makes you most happy?” he stared into your eyes, and the only thing that came to his mind was you. It didn't matter wherever you two were doing but you always knew how to make him feel special.
“The stars,” half-truth, half lie the stars reminded him a lot of your eyes and how they sparked the exact way, you smiled big at him, “look at Neteyam being a big softie!”
“Truth or dare?” you smiled, “I’ll be like you, truth!” Neteyam thought, he wanted to ask who your crush was but he didn't wanna seem intrusive, “what's your favorite thing to do?”
“Learn new remedies with Kiri!” Neteyam eyes widen, “really?” you nodded, “I’ve always been so obsessed with becoming a healer, i’m actually somewhat good!”
Neteyam wanted you to be his Tsahik, he wanted you to be his everything, “now, ask me what you really wanted to.” Neteyam looked at you crazy, “I know that's not what you actually wanted to tell me! Your face is so readable, Teyem.”
Teyem. That nickname was going to be the death of me, “who's your crush?” he watched your facial expressions, and he immediately took his words back, “you know you don't have to say it i’m okay-,” you cut him off, “you.”
His world came crashing down, his heartbeat filled his ears as his eyes bore into you, “what?” you laughed watching him, “your so cute Neteyam! How couldn't I like you,” Neteyam smiled big, “I’ve loved you for the longest time.”
He looked you in the eyes, “I can't eat, sleep, hunt, anything knowing you in the same room,” you smiled getting closer, “truth or dare,” Neteyam’s eyes traveled between your eyes and lips, “dare,” you got real close, “I dare you to kiss me.”
That was his green light, he immediately grabbed you closing the gap between you both. It was everything he dreamed it be like, you lips tasted like heaven and your skin was soft.
You straddled him, deepening the kiss, he was desperate for more his hands tracing your body, and you grabbed his hand bringing it to your breast.
You broke the kiss, “you make me feel good, Teyem,” he grabbed your nipples a little hard, “I love you, [Y/n], i’m in love with you.”

You were his everything, and he just felt so lucky to have met such an amazing woman like you, he git so carried away he hadn't even remembered you both were still trapped.
“I want you to claim me,” you brought his hand down to your pussy, “make it so no other man would even dream about touching me,” he played with your clit dragging a moan from you, “i’m going to make you mine.”
You smiled as you felt his fingers go deeper but the moment was cut short, the door shuffled causing you to jump off him.

i’ve been keeping up with dominic noble’s lost in adaptation series for pjo, and i just finished watching his review of episode 8. he made a point of saying that he didn’t consider the tv series an offense to the book, and i’m glad he did because i think a lot of show fans hear the criticism that some books fans have of the show and misunderstand why we’re so upset.
i think the tv series is a good, decent adaptation that attempts to appeal to a younger audience/an audience as young as the book series first readers when it was published. it modernizes a few things (shoutout to that completely unnecessary scene of sally listening to olivia rodrigo), expands on a bit of the central characters, updates the relationships the gods have with their children, and keeps the spirit of the original series, if not always the execution.
i think if the tv show had come out in 50+ years, long after a book accurate and beloved adaptation had come out, the show would be a fresh take on a classic children’s story a la lotr. but the issue is that the last adaptation came out close to 15 years ago and while it was good and entertaining for a blockbuster movie, it wasn’t percy jackson.
it wasn’t the story we got to see and get to know: a complex tale of parental neglect, greek gods and mythology, and most importantly—a young, misunderstood boy trying to navigate the complexities that arose from the circumstances and consequences of multiple sets of beings, far more powerful and older than him, trying to control him and take away his agency, all because of the circumstances of his birth, which were not his fault and which he didn’t ask for. sure there was magic, sure there a suspension of disbelief, but at the heart of the story there was enough darkness and realness for the story of the book to mean something.
we spent years listening to rick riordan promise us that he would find a place to create a faithful adaptation of the book. but he didn’t. and that’s okay, because at the heart of it all, he wrote pjo to appeal to a set of kids younger than i am now and closer to the age i was when i first met percy jackson. i understand the dozens of fans that love the show, even the book fans that enjoy it as an adaptation, but to me, the girl who admired the brutality of sally jackson turning the man who abused her to stone, who loved the emotional complexity of a dad who could never quite say the right thing to his own child and always left them feeling so disappointed and like a mistake and alone, who never quite fit in with the other kids and felt unwanted, who wished she had some sort of powers and the capacity to rebel against the forces older and more powerful that controlled her, i just can’t love the show as much as i love the books.
i know what i just wrote sounds weird. no, i don’t want to essentially kill and turn any men that may harm or abuse me to stone (tho people if you get the chance, godspeed). but i do love the idea that sally when given the choice, had the power to petrify a man who likely petrified her. she made her choice to get rid of him. she made a choice many women or victims of abuse in general don’t often get a chance to make, and it was presented in such an unrealistic way, in the guise of a medusa’s head, that it felt even more real. i love that a man that is meant to be from an idolized and integral part of your mother’s past, who in many ways is a god, can be a horrible father and partner, and say the wrong things and never be enough. i love the idea that we can all be tempted by the wrong things but eventually make the right choice and be the hero we needed all along.
i think i’ve rambled long enough, and i hope you all can understand what i mean. obviously some of the points i mentioned have yet to be adapted. i hope the show gets to bring to life all 5 books and potentially even beyond. i think the tv show is good, funny, entertaining, a little slow at times, and not enough action or tension. i love leah, walker, and aryan as annabeth, percy, and grover. i think the designs are beautiful. i think it is a good adaptation and i think with a rewatch it’ll grow on me, but it just isn’t the percy jackson i grew up with. maybe that’s on me. maybe i’ve grown up idolizing a book series and appreciating what it meant to me, instead of reading it and appreciating it for what it is: a children’s series. maybe the tv show and book series are mediums meant for other kids and new audiences to enjoy. in which case, enjoy them. i’ll still watch along to see some iteration of the books i love be brought to life, and to appreciate a good show but a part of my heart will always yearn for a faithful book adaptation.

Leafpool: She is more special and sacred than the virgin mary. She has everything. Daughter of the first protagonist, ex boyfriend for me to hate, TONS of wlw situationships<3, a lifetime of tragedy, and some of the most gorgeous canon art to exist.
Crookedstar: Crookedstar is a trans woman to me. Her life is genuinely just so tragic and fucked, I love it. The erins asked: “How much truama, death and misfortune can you fit into a single cat?” and then they wrote Crookedstar’s promise.
Tawnypelt: GIRLS WHO HATE THEIR FATHERS. The erins dont love her like I do.
Tallstar: I love old men… I fucking love seeing older characters and how much they’ve changed from their younger selves. Tallstar is considered one of, if not the most peaceful leader in the clans. But also when he was like 19 he went on a quest to fucking murder a guy :3
Cloudstar: I rlly do not care abt anyone in Skyclan(I like Leafstar but she's not a fav yknow?) Cloudstar... he was based as fuck. Why did Starclan get away with this shit for real??

RavenBarley: It deserves all the attention and hype it gets. Though I wish mlm ships didn’t overshadow wlw ones in this fandom, RavenBarley is genuinely well written and makes me very emotional even if the publisher didnt allow it to be explicitly canon.
CrookedBlue: TRANS WOMEN CROOKEDSTAR YURI. Two leaders having a forbidden relationship and kits is way more interesting than Oakheart. The angst of Crooked and Blue sitting next to eachother every gathering while the entire forest has their eyes on them. Don’t look for too long, don’t let the mourning slip into your voice. Mothwing: Her novella delving into her relationship with Hawkfrost was so good and heartbreaking.
Heathertail: Daughter of leader, sister of a major villian, and former love interest of a protagonist! Why did she fall off the second po3 ended. She’s shown to be very compassionate and willing to put her own feelings aside for the sake of others. Would’ve honestly prefered her as a mate to Lionblaze or get a pov herself over the nothing we got.
Blackstar: *Murders an elderly woman trying to stop me from kidnapping children. Supports a dictator openly abusing/neglecting children and the elderly. Murders a man for refusing to kill mixed raced children- then tells said man’s sister that she will never be safe.* Man…. i sure do feel bad for abusing and killing all of those people…. Good thing I will face no consequences and proceed to be made leader, where I will have even more power over the wellbeing of others.
I hate. This guy.

BlueQuince: My personal handcrafted, homemade Yuri. Bluefur feels terrible about Tiny going missing and promises Quince she’ll help her find him. They never did, but they had a very… fleeting but intimate relationship. Quince is grieving and Bluefur feels so overwhelmed by the duties in her clan. They’ve always thought of eachother since but never met again.
Tigerclaw: My name sake<3 The angst of his earlier life is so, so facinating to me. Starclan being straight fucked up and decided killing him is their only option? He was a kid and they saw him as a lost cause from the start. They never tried any other methods, never tried to steer him in the right direction or… even just take it into their own hands and kill him themself, which they have SHOWN they’re capable of.
They watched all the the horrific crimes he commited, entirely aware they were going to happen. Thats. Fucking. Horrifying. Starclan is scary as shit… and his death? FANTASTIC. I only wish he’d gotten lives from cats he killed so that him coming back to life to suffer over and over was an actual curse from Starclan and not blessings. They knew how he would die and they gave him the lives to torture him for his sins…
Flywhisker: Adhd girlies. Painfully relate to that feeling of the constant scolding for never being “good enough” because I prefer to do things a certain way or struggle to focus. So, SO happy for her when she left the clans! You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone! Hope she’s happy and warm indoors with her brother💕
(P.S. I was very suprised to find she actually had an official art piece!)
Bluestar: Get behind me women with mental disorders. I will defend you. Beautifully complex and tragic character, my favorite written in the series. Literally can't think of a single other female character in handled as seriously and with the complexity of Bluestar. (Although her super edition was a bit of an L with how others treated her, it ultimately makes her breakdown even more painful.)
Exile from Shaodwclan: Nightstar my beloved! He's such a great guy. The rightful leader of Shadowclan, always and forever.
Ravenpaw's Farewell: HE DIED IN BARLEY'S ARMS, TELLING HIM HE WILL FIND HIM, NO MATTER WHERE HE IS. FUCK.
Crookedstar art: So beautiful. I genuinely think she's one of the prettiest cats in the series. This along with her official art by Wayne Mcloughlin.
Leopardstar: As a kid I hated her and loved Blackfoot, now I hate Blackfoot and love her. #feminism. But seriously I think she has way more going for her than he ever has. Her father is a medicine cat who hates violence, the DRASTIC change in Riverclan's view of outsiders upon Crookedstar's death and her leadership. Her already having a position of power before proving she's unworthy of it. (Unlike Blackstar who gets rewarded for his racism and violence by being made leader afterwards) and the fact she has to interact with her victims on a daily basis after what she did.
The writings attempts to redeem her are really lame and dismissive of the actually damage she did, but at the very least they TRIED to do something else with her. Personally, I would have loved to see her assassinated by Mistyfoot. Just like her mother Bluestar was almost killed all those moons ago by Tigerclaw... The parallels of violence for power and violence for peace. A victim repeating the actions of the very man who killed her brother to put an end to what he started in Riverclan.... A shadow in Riverclan, if you will. (<-Pretending erin hunter has hired me to rewrite their series)
Windclan: Tunneling as a concept and inviting outsiders into their clan so friendly and casual makes the clan seems so much more diverse than the others. It always stuck out to me!

The lord who support aegon didn't do so because they hate woman, but because they see them as inferior to man. The green's propaganda was based only on misogyny (same the lord who support aegon) , and that funny cause they rely on the same system who basically destroy alicent and haelena's life. I really do not understand female who are team green, they basically based everything on the subjugation of women and their inability to govern and they rely on a system that sees them only as churning out children. Aemond said "rhaenyra may call herself queen but she has women's part", aegon's men cut off Rhaenyra's breasts to awaken Sunfyre, lord borros otto Jasper and many others spend their life claiming a son came before an older daughter (and for what reasons?), lord pike (im not sure of his name but he is one of aegon' supporter who survive the dance) was describe as "a men who fought to prevent the accession of a woman to the throne". It doesn't matter that rhaenyra have bastards cause people were plotting her usurpation wayyy before her marriage (it wouldn't matter if she were jaehaerys himself born again, rhaenyra is a woman. Otto's word on ep. 3. He admit that rhaenyra may have been the perfect princess and thos still wouldn't prevent her from usurpation). Do you really feel represented by them? Rhaenyra may not be a femminist but it's undeniable that her ascension to the throne would have been a great step forward for women and that she had all the cards in order to become a good queen. It is sufficient to see her positions the council in ep 6, how she always manages to remain calm in front of horrible circumstances (such as the driftmark petition or the black council), how she rule peaceably dragonstone for years. Obviously the war, the usurpation and the death of all her children made her lose her head (as is normal). But if that hadn’t happened she would have been a good queen, definitely better than alicent, Aegon or anyone else. And please do not say that this was the vision of the time because things can change, our society is not equal to the medieval

so now let's talk about the greens themselves :
otto : while i do believe that otto is a misogynist , his main reason for wanting aegon on the throne is to be the grandfather of the king = personal interests. like if he was aemma's father you know he'd be selling "equal rights for women" T-shirts lol
alicent : wants aegon on the throne because if rhaenyra will ascend the throne her children will die. the patriarchy might have ruined her life, but she also has something to gain from it - the system supports aegon as king and keeps her children safe. so as much as she hates & was hurt by the westerosi patriarchal system her family's survival is dependent upon upholding it. same with helaena , her own children will also be in danger if rhaenyra ever became queen. criston : pre ep 4, he was very much team rhaenyra. he didn't seem to have a problem with her inheriting over aegon, he's dornish, so that might seem very normal to him. criston supports the greens because of his hatred towards rhaenyra & love towards alicent = he's a man driven entirely (some may say a little too much haha) by his feelings.
so of course the greens are going to try and uphold the patriarchy, because - while it also ruined alicent's life - they have everything to gain from that system being kept. their lives are dependent on it & their political power.
no, i don't feel represented by alicent. i don't need to feel represented by a character in order to love & support them. of course that I believes in equal rights & am a feminist. but i don't need the fictional characters i like to represent my values. westeros is not a real place, alicent & rhaenyra are not real people. i don't need to pick the the team who'd be better for the realm - [ though i don't think that the blacks would be better to the realm then the greens]. - i'm going to root for the characters that i find interesting & love.
my main reason for disliking rhaenyra is that i find her character boring and lacks interesting inner conflict. also, as you've said, rhaenyra is not a feminist. rhaenyra is team rhaenyra, and that's fine! she wants the throne for her own personal reasons, and when she's queen she doesn't do anything to help other women - she even refuses other firstborn daughter to be named heirs because it would destabilize the realm = rhaenyra has no intention to "break the wheel". she's not dany. so would her reign have been a step forward to all women? i honestly don't know, because a woman sitting on the throne does challenge the patriarchy, but rhaenyra herself has shown no interest in helping & advancing other women. (not to mention lowborn women).

omg sometimes I forget team black ARE real people and not just mindless bots.
half the issues in hotd didnt even involve alicent, if anything they already existed before she entered the picture. antis says she should've minded her own business but then not mention Harwin, Larys, and Joffrey.
If Harwin just kept it in his pants instead of becoming the crown princess' side hoe (because that's what he is) then the whole Strong boys and arguements wouldn't have happened.
Do I have to explain Larys??
I brought Joffrey up for one reason and it's this:
it wasn't necessary but did it cause the riot that happened? no, you know what did tho? Joffrey openly talking about his and Criston's "relationships" with the people getting married. was that necessary for him to do? no it wasn't because it what world WOULD it be needed for some guy to talk to Kingsguard's secret relationship with the princess?
Those three MEN should've minded their business not alicent. when she asked Rhaenyra questions it was her job or her being a friend which leads me to :
perhaps alicent wasn't but the same thing could be said about Rhaenyra (lying on her mother's grave anyone?? just being over all Brat when Alicent TRIED to fix them??). the thing is they were both in bad situations in which they had little to no control in. Neither can be blamed for how they tried to help themselves or how they acted under pressure as KIDS. people seem to forget that alicent was also a child and always say "she was older in the books!" tell me when you ever picked up that book. the show is clearly different to the books why keep bringing up alicent's age? to justify hating her as a child.
HER PROBLEMS WAS CAUSED BY THE MEN IN HER LIFE!!!!
who forced her to go to the king's chambers and wear her mother's dress? Her dad. Who had the power to NOT marry her but did it anyway? Viserys. Who mistook her (understandable) missing of her father as a reason to kill his father and brother? fucking Larys. Who impregnated her and when she had sons, did nothing to support her or to fix the problems arising with the birth of male heirs? Viserys.

of course it's never openly stated that they were in love but considering that the actors (who know the characters best) said there was an underlying romance between them and it was purposeful... you can't blame others for shipping them because as they said it was THERE.
while it was a big jump that alicent took with his words, I prefer to see what she did as less of a cunning act and more of an act of desperation. a way to avoid the incoming fighting that'll happen when the word gets out.
I'm not sure if the commenter is blaming the dance on alicent but can we for a second remember that alicent was going against her dad to bring back aegon? the council already had plans to sit aegon at the throne, alicent's misunderstandings did nothing to change that.
if rhaenyra ascending the throne wouldn't have cause a civil war, then Jace ascending it definitely would have because let's not forget being anti-bastard was not a thing Alicent created, everyone was against them.
Team black stans will call themselves feminists and say they support women's rights but when Alicent is shown to them, they scream internalized misogyny and call her a cunt. are you a feminist or do you just like seeing women agree with you and your views? to fit into the mold you made for feminism
alicent is a great example of the oppression of women in any time period and the greatest show of WHY women need feminism, and antis don't even give her grace
they uplift and praise the women who already have power and freedom and put down everyone else who doesn't have those things. that tells me more about their character and beliefs than whatever color they identify as.
