damn this post on my FB from 2020 about how i was gonna stylize time gate after Reaper was finished aged like milk right in the first line
i did in fact end up in another mass hiatus period like i did back in 2017/2018-
the rest of the post is me talking about how i'm trying to settle into an easier style that 'lessons the load'
instead i ended up doing a full color vertical comic with 60+ panels per episode every week and i did that for like 6 months and then burned out like a dying star
and now it's been on hiatus since like 2023 and i'm doing a completely different full color vertical comic with like 30+ panels per episode updated every two weeks, which is definitely a lighter load but still a load LOL
hang in there past me, you didn't see any of this coming but a lot of it's been for the better; as for the stuff that didn't go so well, we'll get through it in due time u.u </3

it was also 5 years ago today that I got the best firing of my life from my toxic ass tattoo apprenticeship that I deadass almost lost my life to (thanks depression). Life's still hard but I'm thankful every fucking day that I'm out of there.

Rekindled Update Schedule Adjustment for April/May
Hey y'all! So the next couple weeks are gonna be the busiest out of all of them as I'm doing two weekends straight of tattoo expos. I was hoping to have the entirety of Episode 50 ready for you all this weekend, but the length of the episode wound up being a bit longer than what was doable with my current workload.
SO there will be an update this weekend, but it will only be the first half of Episode 50, meaning it's going to be a bit on the shorter side. That said, we'll be updating AGAIN the weekend after on May 4th to make up for it! This just helps divvy up the work into halves that are easier to handle while I deal with all my other shit going on IRL.
After the second half of Episode 50 goes up on May 4th, we will NOT be updating on May 11th as it would have originally been planned. This is both because of the schedule change to accommodate the episode split, but also-
May 11th is when the final episode of Lore Olympus releases! As much as LR was created 'in spite' of LO, and as much shit as I talk about it, LO making it this far and finally ending is a feat that not a lot of creators accomplish - not to mention I wouldn't be here and LR wouldn't exist if it weren't for LO - and so I want to show proper respect to LO finally ending after all these years by not updating on the 11th as was originally forecasted. Instead, I'll be doing a sort of send-off illustration and post to bid it farewell, and to wish Rachel luck in her future endeavors, whatever they may look like. I might also decide to livestream the night of the release so we can make a fun little event out of it if anyone's interested in participating :' ) (I'll put out more details on this if I come up with anything that's fun and easy enough to do haha)
So yeah! New Rekindled this weekend and next, none on the 11th! Mark your calendars! <3

Have you seen the leaked designs for Hades 2? Someone went into the files to get better quality images of the character art and came across new characters that haven’t been revealed yet.
Supergiant asked them to take it down, but it was up for awhile and wow. Hestias wasn’t there yet but there were a lot more that looked amazing!! I won’t go into too much more detail in case you haven’t seen them, but I’m a big fan especially of the more morally grey/villain characters in mythology designs
I've spotted a few of them in the wild but I'm trying to avoid what I can because I want to go in as blind as possible when the game releases! The data-leaking though is uh... man. Seeing the designs is awesome but it's always a bummer for the studios when this happens because it can interrupt their promotional calendar, plus it can lead to stuff that isn't even ready yet getting shown off as if it's finished which can alter people's perceptions of what to expect going in. I know it's just because people are excited which is cool, but I empathize with Supergiant having to do damage control over it because the last thing they should have to worry about while trying to develop this game is preventing sensitive data from getting out and spoiling people 💀😅

Can I ask, just because you brought it up recently - do you know if there's a way to read Gremoryland without using the app? I have a Webtoons account, but when I went to read it online, it only let me see the first 14 eps despite saying it was completed. It said to read more episodes on the app, but that's not really an option for me. If there's not a way or you don't know, that's fine! I just didn't know who else to ask
Gremoryland is a finished series but it's behind DailyPass, so using the app is really the only way to access the entire series legally u.u Sorry I couldn't be of more help :'0 But I hope you're able to read all of it some day !!! (I'm not a huge fan of DailyPass bleh but it's tolerable if you're willing to wait for daily unlocks)

How do you feel about constructive criticism?
in general or for me? 😆
I don't mind constructive criticism and there are times I may ask for it in the community areas (such as the Discord), but I personally prefer if people just make their own posts with their crit which can open it up to analysis on equal footing with the community rather than putting it in my inbox when I'm not directly asking for it. So feel free to do so if you're so compelled! I treat it the same towards Rachel, she's not asking for my unsolicited opinions in her inbox or comment sections so I stay outta there lmaoo
but I've also seen people make crit threads of Rekindled in the ULO subreddit and other antiLO spaces and those are all well and good (it would be very hypocritical if I got upset over those LOL), it's interesting to see people's takes and input and that way it doesn't feel like I'm lording over them when they're just trying to freely discuss a piece of work, because then the floor is theirs and whether or not I see it is completely up to me :') (and they can get their opinion out there without having to wait on me to respond to the ask in my inbox because... let's be real, I'm really bad at responding to asks in a timely manner , things get buried a lot and I can only answer so many at a time u.u </3)

Don’t know if you’ve already answered this or not, but are Hermes, Ares, (or whoever is also in love with Persephone) still be in love with her in lore rekindled?
Ahhh so Kore and Hermes have a little bit of history as Hermes met her while he was doing his work in the Mortal Realm as a messenger god. They never got romantically involved but there was a short period of time where they were crushing on each other a lil' bit, sort of a 'boy next door' type of thing, but they have a mutual respect for each other now that's purely platonic. They've been close friends for hundreds of years now.
As for Ares, she hasn't met him... yet ;) Their dynamic is actually one I'm super excited to write about hahaha

I've been seeing you say/speculate Rachel Smythe has been cut loose from webtoon, could you elaborate what you mean by that?
It's only a tinfoil hat theory that people should take with MOUNTAINS of salt (seriously, I'm more likely to believe that Rachel really is just done with LO), but there's a general suspicion that LO wasn't meant to end here and that Webtoons decided to cut the cord. I've made a post about it before but some new stuff has surfaced since then.
1.) The announcement the series was ending was made quietly at NYCC and not shared to either Webtoons' socials or Rachel's socials.
The only way fans initially knew about the series ending was through a screencap from the Discord where someone else who had been attending NYCC passed on the info from a Q&A that LO would be entering its final arc.
For a good while the only other way to know the series was ending was through the Discord, a Cosmopolitan article, and my own post.
Though it sounds odd for a series to get cancelled halfway through its third season, it's not uncommon for Webtoons to suddenly axe series while they're on their midseason hiatuses, it's happened before. So there's a general suspicion that Rachel may have found out during NYCC that LO would only be given one more arc.
2.) The actual finale announcement was made in a text post on Instagram that suddenly announced it would be ending on May 11th, despite the fact that there was still lots to wrap up in the story.
What this implies is that Rachel was given one more arc, with no concrete end date... until Webtoons told her to wrap it up in a limited number of episodes, hence why despite us knowing it was in its final arc, the end date still felt too soon. This is also supported by the fact that her initial announcement was vaguely "early/mid 2024" - she couldn't give a more accurate end date because she didn't plan for the actual ending.
3.) Things that Rachel has said implies that she was either hoping for the final arc to go on longer, or that she didn't think LO was going to be ending now.
(that "nothing is set in stone" quote further supports the theory that she may have been hoping to get renewed in spite of the lukewarm ending announcement - that the only reason the announcement was so quiet was because WT hadn't fully committed to it yet and wanted to see how the series would do upon its return; now that they see it falling behind to other series, it might mean WT became more sure in their decision to cut it and gave her an actual deadline to wrap it up by.)
4.) Webtoons has stopped promoting Lore Olympus despite it ending.
Any promotional spots that it has gotten have been stuffed into the dead zone of the banner reels (seriously, anything past the 3rd spot is practically useless because it takes actual committed scrolling to get there vs. the first 1-3 banner spots which can be seen as soon as you open the app/site) and the banner art itself does not in any way advertise the series being in its final arc. These banners also only seem to be appearing for a day at most, compared to the days upwards of weeks they used to get.
Webtoons also hasn't been doing any sort of promoting on their socials for it. Considering The Mafia Nanny has been consistently beating out LO in the top rankings for weeks now, and that LO's rating and view count is still dropping, it appears that Webtoons has finally given up on shoving it down people's throats and put their focus elsewhere.
Again, this is all tinfoil hat speculation, so take it with massive doses of salt. Considering this is Webtoons, I wouldn't be surprised if they finally decided to put LO out of its misery, but this is also Rachel and I wouldn't blame her in the slightest if she finally wanted to be done with it after the past two years of people clowning on it. And I say that knowing I, myself, am a clown LOL
Either way, I feel like either outcome is plausible in its own ways, but whatever is the true reason, it doesn't change the fact that LO is ending and has 3 episodes left to wrap itself up. And whatever comes after will likely involve the launch of Inklore which was estimated for the spring.

Y'all brought a lot of energy to that Covenant post, how about some love for Time & Time Again? 😘🤙💓
I've been reading this webtoon since it began, the creator is super cool and absolutely deserves more attention on their work. They're an extremely prolific comic creator with loads of work under their belt already, but Time & Time Again is their first Originals series on the platform. It unfortunately doesn't get advertised much by the platform but lemme tell you, it's one of the best out there if you're looking for a good series to binge and keep up with. It's literally a time-travelling vampire x werewolf duo going on wacky adventures through time, it's structured like those monster-of-the-week shows where every story arc is a new adventure and mystery to solve (but there's also an overarching plot that threads them together, much of it involving the main characters' angsty backstory >:3).
Also they're gay and their names are literally Adam and Steve (and iirc Steve is transmasc and Adam is non-binary !!). I don't think I have to even explain its appeal further than that , go read it LMAO And if you like it, please consider adding it to your list of books to order for your shelf!!! Deo has done a great job adapting it to print, and every book contains each story arc so rather than its seasons on WT being haphazardly divided into a limited amount of chapters, each book is cleanly organized into each adventure!
Time & Time Again is currently on hiatus, so fortunately the creator hasn't run into any issues like explodikid where they haven't been allowed to promote the books in their episodes... but that's simply because it hasn't been posting new episodes, so it remains to be seen if Deo will also face similar roadblocks. Hopefully Webtoons will have learned their lesson by that point, but until then, it's better safe than sorry to spread the word around now; and if you haven't heard of the series before, then now's your time to read it so you can catch up to it before it makes its return! "In a historic “first-of-its-kind” agreement the government of British Colombia has acknowledged the aboriginal ownership of 200 islands off the west coast of Canada.
The owners are the Haida nation, and rather than the Canadian government giving something to a First Nation, the agreement admits that the “Xhaaidlagha Gwaayaai” or the “islands at the end of world,” always belonged to them, a subtle yet powerful difference in the wording of First Nations negotiating.
BC Premier David Eby called the treaty “long overdue” and once signed, will clear the way for half a million hectares (1.3 million acres) of land to be managed by the Haida.
Postal service, shipping lanes, school and community services, private property rights, and local government jurisdiction, will all be unaffected by the agreement, which will essentially outline that the Haida decide what to do with the 200 or so islands and islets.
“We could be facing each other in a courtroom, we could have been fighting each other for years and years, but we chose a different path,” said Minister of Indigenous Relations of BC, Murray Rankin at the signing ceremony, who added that it took creativity and courage to “create a better world for our children.”
Indeed, making the agreement outside the courts of the formal treaty process reflects a vastly different way of negotiating than has been the norm for Canada.
“This agreement won’t only raise all boats here on Haida Gwaii – increase opportunity and prosperity for the Haida people and for the whole community and for the whole province – but it will also be an example and another way for nations – not just in British Columbia, but right across Canada – to have their title recognized,” said Eby.
In other words, by deciding this outside court, Eby and the province of BC hope to set a new standard for how such land title agreements are struck."
