Hes like a sulking cat when he finds out who exactly you're hanging around. Sure he wont prohibit you from seeing them, but you can tell hes not all that happy. He gives you the silent treatment- which.. ignore the fact that he rarely speaks in general, hes going to be a little more icier than usual. Though, unlike the other character in this post Masky can technically meet the other person. Whether it be following them home and keeping a hawks eye on you.. or meeting them like a normal person. Sure he might have to take off the mask to lower suspicion.. but hey..! You get to see your boyfriends face, right? After meeting them he does seem to be a little more at ease thanks to seeing first hand that they seem... decent enough. Hes still vigilant, though. The second theres something wrong hes going to hop into action
LAUGHING JACK
You thought masky was jealous? Jack puts him to shame. He feels the need to compete, even if your ex truly isnt a threat to your relationship. He already has abandonment issues, of which are definitely going to make themselves known. He tries to get you to stay home with him longer so he can have you all to himself for just a little while longer. He doesn't like how... gross.. it makes him feel inside but he can't seem to stop himself. You're going to have to do a lot to make sure he feels secure. It also doesnt help that Jack can't exactly.. go out with you to hang out with you two.. very huffy, and asides from the jealousy hes a little pissed that he cant go out and meet your friend- fear of missing out, you know?

Xie Lian isn’t a hero.
I started with TGCF first when I was introduced to danmei, and I was floored by what I read. It wasn’t just boys kissing in ancient china, it was actually about human tragedy and the selfishness of the omnipotent.
The theme of TGCF doesn’t revolve around XL alone. It’s much bigger than that. This isn’t a ‘TGCF is better’ post, but rather, TGCF is different. And it’s different because Xie Lian isn’t a typical human hero.
XL is not a heroic character like WWX, and he isn’t a sarcastic/comedic relief hero like SQQ. And it isn’t because of their personalities. XL is just as selfless as WWX and just as unreasonably punished as both other MC’s. However, when bad things happen to WWX, you know it’s because of his personality. Because of his kindness, his confidence, his wit. It’s simply BECAUSE it’s WWX as the protagonist.
Same with SVSSS. That story couldn’t have happened without Shen Yuan in SQQ’s body. Like we never would have gotten that level of sarcasm, pity, and empathy. And the novel tells you that repeatedly. Everything that happens in the previous two novels does so because of who the main character is.
But when things happen in TGCF, XL isn’t even the center of the conflict. It’s almost always someone else’s fault, someone else’s business, or someone else’s issue he just happens to be present for. But somehow, it always comes back to him. It’s always his job to resolve things.
Unlike WWX, the conflict isn’t his fault. WWX actively pushes the narrative with his actions. He drives the conflict and later becomes it. Whether he’s at fault or not is the point of his story, but for XL, he’s really just incredibly unlucky. He’s tragic in the sense that he’s just being fucked over by everyone in his life. For what? For being…wonderful!?
I absolutely love that his one little phrase pissed off the evil emperor of heaven. Like his mere existence is a problem.
It’s an incredible piece of writing that the things that get him into trouble are his altruism. Altruism that is fitting for someone who thinks himself a GOD. But also, altruism that many of us mortals share.
Why CANT he save his people if he’s a god? Why CANT he answer everyone’s prayers? Why is he not good enough or strong enough to resolve this conflict if he’s literally a GOD.
XL is constantly facing issues and asking questions that humanity itself has asked.
Why isn’t god answering me, why isn’t god helping me, why do we have a god at all? TGCF has a commentary that doesn’t limit itself to just XL and the type of person he is in the way that MDZS relies on WWX and SVSSS relies on SQQ.
Those novels are how most novels typically function. You choose a specific type of human and see the world through their eyes.
But XL isn’t human. Not in the way he acts nor in the way he tells this story. He tells you everything he witnesses and it barely affects him anymore. He just has some wise thoughts about what everything means.
But TGCF isn’t asking: what would happen if a kind prince ascended to godhood?
Instead—
TGCF begs the question:
What if you told the story of humanity, not through the eyes of a human, but through the eyes of god.
Xie Lian is god.
XL is 800yrs old, has lived through countless tragedies, celebrations, friendships, betrayals, and he ascends. Again.
He’s been stuck with the burden of immortality and now he’s re entering the place that gave him that burden. He walks into heaven to see new gods, but the same old problems. And the whole vibe he has in this is less benevolent and wonderful and more like a fed up mom who’s tired of seeing the girls fighting.
He sits back and watches these issues devolve and shuffles his way into the conflict by accident. Because he’s the only one competent enough to do anything about it.
XL doesnt react like a human being, at the start of the current timeline, he’s a god.
He’s an 800yr old god. He’s seen everything, learned everything.
We see this prince who thinks himself a god then become one. And instead of learning what it means to be a god so he can help the common man— he learns what it means to be a common man so he can become a real god.
XL goes through HELL. He loses countless times, is left, betrayed, ruined, trampled, destroyed. He is constantly being thwarted by not just people but the very gods he worshipped and the god he himself became. But again— XL isn’t even that big of a personality for us to cling to that alone and see how these things happened to him??
He isn’t boasting about how great he is out of pride and ego, he isn’t rampaging or going mad with power, he isn’t a huge character. But his lack of those qualities is what triggers Jun Wu to ruin him. He wants to see him go crazy, wants to see him struggle. Wants to see his ego and pride. And he’s not the only one!!!
Mu Qing is also incredibly jealous, so are the other gods!!! And Qi Rong, his own family!!! His parents even get upset with him for not doing enough. Everyone saw this kid blessed with so much and started wishing for him to break. And they succeed. He goes insane, he starts killing, he starts wanting to die, he starts losing faith.
But MAN it is just so gorgeous to me that this character is almost…forced to be a main character? Forced to suffer, forced to make mistakes, forced to be a problem. He is so powerful and smart and incredible and then he is made to believe he is nothing. Here is this god who has been forced to feel HUMAN.
And once he finally feels that way, once he finally falls to the ground and loses everything, someone comes by and offers his hat.
And that’s all it takes for a man to truly become a god.
TGCF asks what if you told a story through the eyes of god? It shows you this guy sighing through drama and fixing peoples problems.
And then it goes back and tells you: What makes a man, god?
And we read all of XL’s history. His victories and failures. And it perfectly describes how he’s ascended again. Not out of heroics this time. But out of his pure humanity.
God is a kind, gentle, but confident man who wanders around helping who he can and opening his doors to those who wish to come in. He resolves the conflicts he’s there for, and takes note of those he wasn’t there for. He trudges along holding no grudges and sighing when people make mistakes. He loves selflessly and holds no judgment. He feels strange letting people take care of him but he will take care of you. When he can, and when he has the chance, he will take care of you.
XL is almost born with every book definition of what a god is: kind, selfless, strong, and true. But his story forces him to learn how to be human instead. To fail, die, love, kill and suffer. And when that god was beaten and broken, he was saved by one thing. A human.
That’s how you become a god. And that’s what it means to be one. To be human. To be a good person.
XL couldn’t have been a WWX. He couldn’t have been a staple protagonist with a heart of gold, wit and passion. He couldn’t have had a story with everyone’s conflict directly tied to him and because of him. That isn’t what TGCF is for.
It isn’t about XL himself. It’s about god. It explores the selfishness that comes with immortality, and the selflessness that comes with mortality.
There are other aspects that make it a nice protag story. He falls in love, he’s kinda air headed and sassy. He did have the character and maturity to choose to become a wonderful godlike person but that’s a post for another day. But honestly, if this were a regular novel, it probably would’ve been about Hua Cheng. He lives for love and passion and devotion. He kills and saves and sacrifices, he denies godhood and wins the girl in the end. Now THATS a hero.
But XL isn’t a hero. He’s a god.
MXTX wrote a story that wasn’t about a sheepish prince who lost it all, but instead wrote a story about gods and humans. She wrote what reads like a Greek epic to me. With such hard comments on morality and cruelty. She really hit me with everything I love about literature. And yes I do love MDZS and SVSS but TGCF is different.
Like guoshi said: the gods are human, after all. But XL above them all, is most definitely a god.

This is Wake, hes salty, hes a hometown turf war legend, hes inelligible to participate in the big city Turf Wars, and hes got Inknemia/washed-out ink; Faints a lot when losing ink too fast, ink's not thick enough after a minute of splatting to really be effective in said competitions, and he cant replenish his ink fast enough to really be an effective teammate.
Bro wants to participate so bad to bring good to his family name. Theyre proud of him even without competing here. But the pale squid's got big dreams and the town's simply too small for the likes of him...

hello! do you know how to tell your parents that you don't think you can live alone?
i don't think i'm gonna ever be able to live alone due to my inability to care for myself on a daily basis, but i don't think my parents know this. they still believe i can live somewhat independently, or that with time all these issues will go away. how should i break the news to them that i think i might need some sort of guardian, or at the very least, a competent older adult living with me to help?
Hello! Sorry this is so late and has been sitting in my inbox for awhile. Been a crazy few weeks.
So for me, I brought it up to the parent I trusted the most. Which for me, was my mom. I brought up to her that I don’t think due to my support needs, I’d ever be able to live independently. We had a talk about it, a very good talk, and we bounced ideas around, like assisted living. I never said “hey, I think I’ll live with y’all for the rest of my life” although my parents are cool with that, I simply said “hey, I don’t think I’ll ever live independently”. That gives them the ground to think about what they want as well. They could think about me going to live with a loved one, or assisted living, or group homes, and so on.
I then talked to my father, who wasn't very accepting of it, and we did have a fight about it, but he eventually sorta came to terms about it because like, what are you going to do? He cant, and wont just kick me out. And i'm very lucky for that to have supportive parents. i hope that this is the same with you.
Also, bring in outside support ideas. Like telling them that maybe you will get your own place, but hire outside supports like from autism services, or the likes. It all depends, and I wish you the best of luck.

But I figured I should send a separate ask to talk about Miguel.
So like my thoughts have been centering on this scenario where you're his secretary or assistant because he is the CEO. He's a beta and you're an omega.
You guys have a purely professional relationship, tbh half the time he doesnt even realize you got you're heat and just finds out you called in when you dont respond. Really the only thing he cares about is you doing your work, getting it done on time, and not half-assing it.
But then he gets the spider DNA and everything goes to shit. Not only does the spider DNA give him extra abilities and enhanced senses, but it also gives him some alpha traits/tendencies.
He goes in to work thinking it'll help distract him and get him back in the rhythm of everything only to just get fucking hit in the face with your scent. Queue him rushing past because it takes everything in him not to just pounce on you.
But as I said, he only got a few alpha traits. He didnt actually become an alpha. So while he's out here wanting to just pin you to his or your desk, knot and claim you....he's completely incapable. His body is completely incapable of performing those actions and it only leans into his yandere behavior and tendencies.
I've also been think like(depending on how one writes abo), sometimes betas dont have a sent or if they do its extremely faint. Yandere beta miguel who cant even smother you in his scent because he basically doesn't have one, meanwhile you dont even realize he's changed at all because you cant smell it.
Though because he doesnt have a scent he would absolutely sneak into your house/appartment. Its basically the only upside in his eyes.
Also anytime you go into heat and have to miss work? He is immediately taking your seat from your desk and huffing it while he touches himself. Then at night as spiderman will come just close enough to be able to smell you but still not lose control of himself, absolutely getting off on your scent and sounds of pleasure from you using a toy.
God this shits been living in my brain rent free for like the last week and wont go away 😭

Picture if Reader is actually a really competent employee of his at Alchemax but Miguel like BARELY pays any mind to you because, you know, he's got all sorts of shit constantly stressing him out and occupying his mind on top of migraine, and suddenly you're going into work and bringing him his preferred coffee as usual when, he tries to make small talk? You've worked for this man for like at least a year, basically only speaking when necessary, and one day you lean over to put a coffee or some papers on his desk and that brings you just close enough for him to take in a breath of your scent which instantly helps alleviate his headaches
You're basically done giving him what he needs and you're literally about to leave the room when he suddenly calls out (almost in a "wait I need to catch you before you leave" kind of urgency) and you pause and look at him with those big eyes of yours he suddenly can't stop staring into when Romeo hits you with "so .... how are you?"
And you're just kind of stunned for a few moments because this is a man who basically doesn't speak to you unless he needs something, even when you go to him to pass along a message or something or other about his schedule and your secretarial duties it's typically just a sort of "got it, thank you" sort of response and you're sent on your way again, or given another task, so in ao forth. You basically can't get a good read on the man's personality because he simply doesn't talk to you enough or at least about anything other than work
He officially enters the Goo Goo Eyes Zone where when you like someone almost everything about them is so cute and had more meaning than it actually does and is basically finally seeing you for the first time. He FINALLY notices what kinds of perfumes/body mists you like to use to smell nice even if it's something you've worn for ages, the ways you prefer to style yourself, which little accessories or rings or whatever may be your favorite, little mannerisms you may have like clicking pens or singing little songs when you think you're along, like when you're doing something and it's you're just like occasionally singing, like he finds you washing a coffee cup in the break room all "--and its doooOooone!"
The need to learn more about you escalates because suddenly he's like "wait I've known them for all this time and never noticed all these things, what ELSE don't I know?" And it really is an obsessive infatuation. You live in a high rise where you don't really have to worry about closing your blinds or anything which is perfect for Miguel "don't you know i have enhanced senses" O'Hara to watch you from the roof of the next building over. You never lock your windows because, what's the point? He'll grow the balls to be more direct with you eventually, but he justifies everything by telling himself he just wants to get to know more about you, and that the stalking is just him trying to get to know you a little more, so when he sees you face to face he can win you over and make you his mate treat you better, obviously! He'll... he'll ask you out to dinner next week, he promises! But for now, he's just gonna, stay right here perched under your window, seeing and hearing and smelling everything

-But he was surprised at how calm you were.

-But Azul is actually a very open minded guy when it comes to people he loves.
-So he quickly understands if you have a sweet tooth or an obsession with something as vague as eternity.
-He may even let a few sweet drinks slide for you at the monstro lounge.
-When he learnt about your history with your dead sister, he didnt really know how to comfort you.
-Not when you were so stoic,but he that it was painful to you behind that mask.

-By giving you gifts and flying around in his carpet and maybe even expensive deserts.
-When you talk about eternity, it actually doesn't take him long to start to get interested in it too.
Vil:
-He was only shocked about the win you has with the giant snake and you saving a nation for a short time.
-Then he realised that just because you were who you were, that doesn't mean that you could not do very strong things.
-Though he can not really empathise with having a dead sister, he does understand the pain for itm
-So he does try to get your mind of it with a date, pampering or cuddles as you talk about the things you loved such as eternity.
-Even though he probably isnt a fan of sweet food and you are, he does prefer if you dont eat food with such a high sugar content.
-So he finds ways to make fruits taste just as sweet for you.
Malleus:
-Very relatable.
-He also has that kind of status and intimidates people by simply staring.
-He also has a sweet tooth so you two would walk around Ramshackle at night and eat ice cream as you both walk.
-I mean who is really stopping you two.
-Malleus isn't much of a talk so he is a pretty good listener so he will listen to you ranting about your obsession with eternity as long as you wanted.

because how can anything negative be associated with GOD? you are god. that doesnt make you delusional or egotistical because growing up im sure we all associated god with this being outside of us who is better than us and yada yada
i do believe in god still, meaning source, but i believe that god/source gave us all His abilities. we are able to create as well as He can.

Omg kmg okay so my ideal date with lucifer is to have a sleepy day in!! It could be like a weekend getaway thing where we go to a random place and explore on earth or in the devildom, or straight up just in Lucifer’s room. There would be so much pampering!! I really just want to have this man stay asleep for a full 8 hours and bring him breakfast in bed, and we can watch a movie (perhaps other activities🤭) or take a bath together. breakfast in bed can wait a little longer, as can the bubble bath and movie marathon you had planned for the last day of your getaway. you dare not to disturb his peace, and you stay in his arms, hoping this weekend has allowed him to replenish all the energy he needs.

How the vees react to finding out about rosecest / Percy
First of all a lot of my headcanons around the vees are highly influenced by @lunarbroadcast and her selfship with Vox, so you’ll be hearing a lot about her s/I Lyra
Vox
Oh boyyyy he’s pissed, not for any sort of moral reason but because he CANT EVEN HAVE HIS OWN FUCKING SCANDAL!! Of course that old prick has to ALSO be grooming some kid (part of him wonders if alastor is just doing it to compete with him but he’d never admit it)
As for how he found out, it was all thanks to Lyra. His little doll has been staying at the hotel for a while (think like Pentious in ep 2 but like,,,actually good at spying) so he basically got a front row seat for everything
Sure he’s shocked and everything, but what’s more important is making sure NOTHING gets out to the public. After all he has an appearance to maintain, gotta keep those investors happy! (he really doesn’t have time to get someone to clean up another bloody mess from Valentino)
Vox was already paranoid about his own less then savory action getting out, the reveal of Percy’s existence / rosecest makes that so much worse. Anyone starts posting rumors? they’re gone missing, a news team tries to look into it? well they’re not coming back for a while..
He can’t even use Percy’s existence or their relationship as blackmail, I mean he could but Vox isn’t stupid enough to risk getting alastor angry
ABSOLUTELY NONE of his employees is allowed to even bring it up, it’s simply safer like that. If some idiot does try and talk about it Vox will just hypnotize the fool back in line. Oh and a cut to their paychecks
Vox can hear the headlines if this were to get out to the media “overlord caught with underage child!” “The dark truth behind alastor” “the radio demon: predator or misguided father.” And is 100% convinced if alastor was found out then the media would turn to him next. So the two overlords are stuck in this weird relationship where both would do anything to keep the other’s secret safe but only because it benefits their own selfish needs
Valentino
He’s immediately interested in Percy.. after all a such naive little cutie is the perfect candidate for stardom and a deal
somehow he gets creepier then he already is.. absolutely no one wants these two to meet
The other two tried to keep it a secret from him for as long as possible, unfortunately he’s one nosy man and CANNOT stay out of any unfolding drama
His feelings about the relationship are probably the most “positive” out of any of the vees, except it’s in a “that’s hot, can I watch?” Way rather then actually accepting the relationship
He’s of course not stupid enough to risk getting torn apart by Alastor for trying anything, but god he wants to..
Vellvette
Being the newest and youngest vee, she’s frankly HORRIFIED by it
She doesn’t have the years of fear built up around alastor like the other two do, so she’s likely to actually go after alastor for his actions (which no matter what doesn’t end well for her)
Vellvette honestly feels really sorry for Percy, she hates seeing A LITERAL CHILD being trapped and abused like Percy is (she’d never admit it though) but Vox has caught her sobbing on more then one occasion
Girl needs to be physically held back from going after alastor personally once she finds out

of the popular bakugo ships, which one do you think is best for him in the long run? like which dynamic does he thrive the most in?

i think krbk and bkdk are two very different dynamics and i do genuinely understand both of them (and like!!! both!!!) but to me the answer will always and forever be bkdk.
BUT. i dont think that can be said without the inevitable speech that bkdk as a romantic relationship is going to take a lot more work than krbk would.
while i like krbk and i think it's enjoyable to read if i am holding it up to bkdk it is a relationship i do genuinely view more platonically than i do bkdk. to me bkdk is like... the end game of bkgs life in a lot of ways. it takes way more to unpack and way more growth from both parties to make it work.
like. it takes time. it takes a lot of back and forth and it takes a lot of bakugou learning how to really be forgiven (and for both of them to learn how to be honest with their feelings.) like it takes years
eventually though, i think bakugou realizes that deku has been there for every single moment of his life with undoubted faith and there was never a moment he was deluded about any of who he is. the persistence and magnitude in which deku loves him as well as the inspiration he gets from competing with deku is something that i think is so good for bakugous life. they feel made for each other to me
it takes more time for them because it's a lot more intricate. but once they're there it just clicks. like everything in bakugous whole life just clicks everything makes sense. and i think it makes him wonder why things couldnt be that way from the start
i say this a lot but there is just no ship that could ever compare to me but i do think my specific interpretation of bkdk is not the popular one so i understand why people lean towards krbk.
bkg deserves that kind and shameless adoration and both ships can provide that but less people usually see it in the bkdk way but i feel like once i started rlly looking at bkdk it was simply impossible for me to see anything else.
i am a multshipper at heart so i will read anything where bkg is being adored but. bkdk simply hits different for me forever.
