of the popular bakugo ships, which one do you think is best for him in the long run? like which dynamic does he thrive the most in?

i think krbk and bkdk are two very different dynamics and i do genuinely understand both of them (and like!!! both!!!) but to me the answer will always and forever be bkdk.
BUT. i dont think that can be said without the inevitable speech that bkdk as a romantic relationship is going to take a lot more work than krbk would.
while i like krbk and i think it's enjoyable to read if i am holding it up to bkdk it is a relationship i do genuinely view more platonically than i do bkdk. to me bkdk is like... the end game of bkgs life in a lot of ways. it takes way more to unpack and way more growth from both parties to make it work.
like. it takes time. it takes a lot of back and forth and it takes a lot of bakugou learning how to really be forgiven (and for both of them to learn how to be honest with their feelings.) like it takes years
eventually though, i think bakugou realizes that deku has been there for every single moment of his life with undoubted faith and there was never a moment he was deluded about any of who he is. the persistence and magnitude in which deku loves him as well as the inspiration he gets from competing with deku is something that i think is so good for bakugous life. they feel made for each other to me
it takes more time for them because it's a lot more intricate. but once they're there it just clicks. like everything in bakugous whole life just clicks everything makes sense. and i think it makes him wonder why things couldnt be that way from the start
i say this a lot but there is just no ship that could ever compare to me but i do think my specific interpretation of bkdk is not the popular one so i understand why people lean towards krbk.
bkg deserves that kind and shameless adoration and both ships can provide that but less people usually see it in the bkdk way but i feel like once i started rlly looking at bkdk it was simply impossible for me to see anything else.
i am a multshipper at heart so i will read anything where bkg is being adored but. bkdk simply hits different for me forever.

D: No, that’s not it! It’s not stable. It’ll collapse!
K: As if we can’t handle a little—
D: There were civilians nearby! They might be trapped too. We have to wait for reinforcements.
K: *huffs and puffs but eventually acquiesces* Move over, your elbow’s in my stomach.
D: I can’t. It’s too cramped.
K: *growling* Why the fuck do you smell like mint?
D: *giggling*
K: What’s so funny?
D: You asked me that the last time we got stuck together like this.
K: Hah? When’ve we ever been in this situation before? In your pervy dreams, Deku?
D: Wha—? No, Kacchan, playing sardines when we were kids. The handle fell out of the closet door and we got stuck for—Well, it felt like hours, but it was probably thirty minutes tops.

I realized that I didn't clarify I meant BKDK Kids/Family Headcanons or well Future Headcanons.
- So we know the resident kids of Eri, Kouta, and Katsuma went to U.A. and became the future Big Three. But I do see some some Class 1-A and 1-B end up being teachers (I don't know why but the idea of Shinshou, Denki, and Mina come to my mind)
- But, that's not what you came for. You came for future BKDK content
- So I imagine, they get married around 20. Right after they both broke top twenty heroes (look if Hawks at somehow at 22 got into top five I say this is realistic) as a weird celebration with their pro agency called Twin Stars lead by the Wonder Duo.
- Now, they went with Bakugou last name which was a full decision made by Izuku not because Midoriya wasn't a good last name, but he really liked the sound of Izuku Bakugou.
- Them being married was the best and worse thing ever to happen to their Agency. Because look at these boys they're so in love and being so chill and cute, but also ewww they're so in love that everyone needs to make sure they knock before they enter offices in fear that they'll find these two just making out
- Uraraka almost screamed when she caught them about to do sexy times in their office. But instead she closed the door walked out the door with Bakugou about to scream "OI! YOU BETTER NOT FUCKING TELL ANYONE ABOUT THIS!" but the reason and walked away was to throw them lube and condoms with the mutter "next time lock the door."
- They always made sure to schedule day offs with each other to have date nights with each other
- Both Katsuki and Izuku realized kinda early on (more so Izuku as he thought of kids name in like their third year) they wanted kids.
- But Katsuki was more so surprised when he sees Izuku with kids ie Eri and Kota who are around ten years old and was like if they have kids they're going to obsessed with Deku being a hero. Then they visited Nabu Island with Mahoro was a teenager with Katsuma as a young kid and Katsuki was just man, he's so good with them. They still respect him. Then just with babies (they babysit MiriTama baby occasionally) and was just damn, i want kids with him.
- Izuku knew that Katsuki usually called kids brats but he's just so good with them. They just see him as amazing as he did when he was young. Plus most of the time Katsuki was gentle to them only scolding them when they were truly being brats.
- Then at 22 they had decided to have a child. Fun Fact, Mitsuki would be around 23 when Katsuki would've been born (also Inko had Midoriya when she was around 17 if the wiki is right)
- Luckily with the future and quirks there are quirks to have kids with each other and create a kid. But the user of the Quirk caused a little oopsie. They got fraternal twins!
- Izuku and Katsuki freaked out because they were only prepared for one child (the quirk user mentioned that they been in medical business for children that this isn't uncommon it's just a 0.004 chance) but they were happy.
- I don't know why but BKDK having twins just make sense to me... I mean TWIN Stars? Come on its right there. Anyway I did think of names with Nozomi and Katsuo Bakugou.
- The twins both inherited Bakugou's blonde hair, but they got Midoriya's eye color. Nozomi got Bakugou's eye shape while Katsuo got Midoriya's eye shape
- At first it was hard to raise twins, but they got the handle of it. As toddlers Nozomi was the fussy one that needed to be near her parents while Katsuo needed to be kept an eye on or else he will run out the door.
- Izuku and Katsuki weirdly compete over silly things. Who is the kids first word (Deku is Papa, Baku is Dad), who is the better diaper changer, who makes the perfect bottle more often, but at night they take turns to who get late night crying but usually Izuku is up so he does it because these kids are the reason Katsuki can no longer sleep at 8pm sharp.
- Also in terms of quirks of what their kids would have I literally have no idea. But I have a couple options of Telekinesis (inherited from Inko but more powerful), Combustion (a mix of the Fire breath and explosion so its more general), Fireworks (a mix of the lightning from Izuku lighting up the sky but the explosion aspect this would be more long ranged), Thunder (the after effect of lightning, but with the boom of an explosion), but if you have better ideas please let me know

Another fanart for @missmungoe's Shanties for the Weary Voyager / Mnemosyne (link)? Is anyone surprised? Well ya shouldn't be!
This time featuring a completely made up thing that isn't actually technically fanart, it's just based on a few hours of me sitting around going 'Well, what if Hamon sees Shanks rediscovering his family through all the newspapers, and he sees Siren being used to defend rather than to take life, and it drives him to make one more sword, even though he said he retired when he forged Siren-- and then Shanks, Makino, and Rowan are heading to Dawn Island for a visit after the dust has settled, and Shanks brings Griffon and Siren in for some TLC, and Hamon presents him with a sword for his daughter."
I mean, it'd be obvious from context clues that his daughter is Kuja-- hence the snake theme-- and if the papers print her name, rowanberries would make sense for the engravings. And it's got an intricate sageo, like her mother's does, just not in red (I made it purple because I really like the idea of her becoming the Empress of Amazon Lily later) and it has the curled handguard, like her father's.
And the name is the feminine version of the myth about the dragon-serpent that lived where the Oracle of Delphi was housed, after Apollo slew the beast-- and I thought that made sense with Rowan's associations, fire (or at least the color red haha) and serpents, and the fact that her parents swords are both named for mythological creatures! But that it also made some sort of sense with the fact that Shyarly's vision of her and Makino was also crucial to how this whole story has shaken out-- which made the association with the Oracle of Delphi pretty nice too?

It was a short cloak, sea-green in colour and in the most supple velvet she’d ever touched, like water where it slipped through her fingers. The snug, high collar was embroidered with real silver, and set with two delicate clasps. The embroideries continued over the cloak, in thread the same colour as the velvet, the pattern so fine you had to squint to see it.
- Chapter 14: Memory and mead, “Mnemosyne” by missmungoe
Another important object from @missmungoe‘s spellbinding “Shanties for the Weary Voyager” series (link). This time, Makino’s short cloak from “Mnemosyne” (link). The description struck me as so very gorgeous, and the way it has played a part in the subsequent chapters had me becoming very attached to it <3 (Not as much as Siren, but I fell head over heels for that sword haha)
I guess my thought was, that Shanks (or maybe Ben) showed Siren to the seamstress. (And if it was Ben, I imagine it was because the seamstress was fondly, affectionately like “he describes her beauty in comparison to so many things I can’t settle on a comprehensive theme!”-- because that makes me giggle.)
So the silver embroidery is waves, and the subtle, fine embroidery pattern that’s the same color thread as the cloth it’s on would be a mermaid scale. Only really standing out starkly where the light catches the velvet and makes the fabric shine, but the thread is matte so it’s vivid and visible then. And I wanted to tie in the heart’s blood red cord of Siren’s sheath into the design-- so I added it as part of the clasp at the base of the collar.

I have been reading a series of stories, “Shanties for the Weary Voyager” (link) by @missmungoe, which is a Shanks/Makino (One Piece) fantasy romance story of epic proportions. I fell in love with the description of Makino’s sword from ‘Charybdis’ (and I imagine it will feature heavily in Scylla once I get to that part haha)
If you want to be swept away by a heartachingly beautiful romance story that is simultaneously touching and sweet, thrilling and anxiety-inducing, funny and bright, with a fair amount of delicious smut interwoven between all the plot and character development, please please please do yourself a favor and read this fic series.
It is over A MILLION AND A HALF WORDS, and that is because it has done a thing I thought only could exist in my wildest fantasies, which is: The primary story and it’s sequel are done (with more beside to fill out gaps in that story-- but for several major turning points in that primary story, the author has created a whole new fics where the coin lands on its other side, or someone makes a different decision, and everything spins wildly to meet the new reality. And I swear to god if you like the concept of that, you will feel so wildly indulgent and spoiled for having it all laid out for you like this.
edit: minor edit-- totally forgot the little strip of metal between the blade and the hilt guard, and I also figured I’d add a closer look at the lotus since I worked really hard on it and I realized that it’s actually pretty small despite the close up lol!

Hiya, I feel like I've asked this before but I'll ask again. I'd like a bit of writing advice if that's alright with you? Just, how do you write thousands of words without making your story feel like it has too much going on or without making it super purple and wordy? Your fics always strike such a lovely balance between long and not overly detailed. I just struggle to write 1000 words without accidently writing the entire plot in one chapter, even if I try padding it out a bit, it's still too short for my taste.
This is tough to answer because honestly most of it comes with practice, which isn't always fun but is necessary. I find that I can strike a decent balance by including descriptions of the scene or items/people in it (but don't OVER describe, or describe every little thing; you want to mainly give the general vibe/description, the reader's brain will fill in details), what the characters thinks about those things, and their physical or emotional reaction to anything that sticks out.
It also helps to just... add things. Add a tiny thing that happens here and there, doesn't have to be plot relevant, just a little thing that the characters notices then moves past, or a small detail that just expands your length a little. Or something a little bigger that better reveals the characters personality or thoughts.
Here are maybe some examples that might help (featuring BkDK A/B/O);
Instead of saying something like;
"He went to the club right after work and hurried inside. After paying the entrance fee he slipped through a crowd to get to the main stage, where he waited eagerly."
Try expanding and adding some little things;
"After work Katsuki rushed home to change into something nicer than his plain civilian clothes. He chose a plain black shirt with a purple button-up over it and black pants. There was an attempt to do something with his hair, but it did not work. Oh well. He brushed his teeth, hastily wrapped his gifts, and hurried out the door. Maybe, just maybe, he sped a little too.
It was 5:45 by the time he got to the club. He left the gifts in the car and hurried inside. “Has Zuzu danced yet?” He asked the lady behind the counter who took his cash and marked his hand.
“No, but he’s up next.”
“Thanks,” he scurried inside.
It was busier than two nights ago, but that made sense. It was Friday. Every pervert in the city was rushing to the strip clubs to spend their evening getting trashed and watching sexy dancers.
Technically, he was now part of that demographic, but he chose to ignore that fact.
The bar was busy but he didn’t give two shits about getting a drink or snack anyway. Instead, he pushed his way through the crowd to get to the main stage. A pretty female Omega was finishing up her dance, so he stood back until she was done. No sense taking up space that a paying customer could occupy. Wouldn't be fair to her at all. Once her song ended and she strutted off, he pushed forward and planted himself firmly against the stage.
His heart was racing. All he could think about was seeing Izuku again."
So we've added a detour to the house to change and get ready. We added a short conversation with the lady behind the counter. We've added his thoughts/observations about the club. We added a dancing lady that created more realism and lengthened our word count.
Additionally, by mentioning the counter lady and dancing lady, we've reminded the reader that there are other people in this world that effect it (instead of hyper-focusing on our two main characters) and we've shown how our character reacted to them and thereby gave him a little more depth.
We can tell he's eager and worried about being late by the convo with the counter lady. He was polite to wait and allow the dancing lady to make more tips instead of being rude and taking a spot from someone else, showing that even though he'd very focused/eager right now he still considers others and reacts to them, rather than ignoring them.
We also didn't over-describe the club. We know it's busy, we know there's a bar, we know there's a stage. Granted, this particular bar was described a little more in a previous chapter, but the general vibe was the same; we don't need details or the layout, just the important bits.
Here is an example of showing emotion through actions, not words;
Rather than saying;
"He finally received a text back. He stopped punching the bag to check his phone. He was eager to see what it said."
Let's do this;
"The text went unanswered for a few hours. Katsuki nearly forgot about it, so lost in showing this free-standing bag who was boss. He punched it hard enough to knock it over, then used his foot to force it back up. Just as he went for another swing he heard his phone chime. He nearly tripped over his own feet hurrying over to it."
It's a little longer, has a bit more character, has a bit of humor, and we've displayed that he's so excited to receive that text that he nearly fell over to see it. I like to include small, almost silly details like that because it feels human and it tells us what kind of emotions that person is feeling without actually just stating the emotion.
Another thing I like to do is bleed the real world or certain actions with characters thoughts. Here's an example;
"Hideki was standing outside, but his attention was on the dancer. Katsuki probably could have slipped right in past him, but he opted to just lean against the wall nearby and wait. His erection had, thankfully, disappeared, and these few moments alone allowed him to ground himself a little more. Stop exuding horny pheromones, exude some neutral or pleasant ones instead, straighten his clothes, check his hair, make sure he didn’t actually have any droll on his face, look presentable goddamnit."
Katsuki is taking a moment to gather himself and make sure he looks okay and we can tell he's nervous about it by the last 3 words, in which his inner dialogue has bled into what was real-world description.
We can combine these two things as well! Example:
"His schedule was next. It was the same as usual. Patrol started at eight. Lunch from noon to one. Patrol done by five. Same shit different day-
His phone chimed and he nearly dropped his coffee in the scramble to get it out of his pocket.
“The heck? You okay?” Eijiro asked.
“Shut up,” came the venomless bite. A text. From Izuku. Exactly what he’d been hoping for. His heart hammered in his chest."
His inner thoughts were cut-off my real world events and he reacted in a mild panic. By using very short sentences we can also show that his thoughts are racing and he's anxious to see what the text says.
When it comes to writing there are a lot of little tricks you can use to both lengthen your work and make it more fun to read. These are the ones I use most. Hopefully, it was helpful, or at least readable. I'm always happy to expand on something too or offer critiques!
Don't beat yourself up about not being as good as you want to be right now either. Like I said, it takes practice. My writing style now is very different from ten years ago and significantly better, but I've written and LOT of fics since then, read a lot of fics since then, and taken in writing advice I've gotten from others. It takes time to improve but that's no reason to stress! Have fun with your writing, you created it from nothing!

bakugou: i think he's one of my favorite characters EVER. yes he is a little shit. yes he has no respect for people in general. yes i would not hesitate to punch him right in the face.
but listen to me: he tries SO HARD
and i used to hate him to the guts when i first met him. but i changed my mind not only because he has improved as a character (he still sucks) but because of:
1. how much he looks like izuku when it comes to what means to be a hero. they both are all might best boys and i volunteer as their mother 😤 i dont know if bakugou will become a villain but i hope not. he's good i know it.
2. when he accepted to be rescued by his best friend kirishima instead of being a little bitch and ruin everyone's day. Their friendship is probably one of the best and strongest bonds in the show, and even knowing bakugou pretends he doesn't care, i know he does care. Of course the blondie sasuke needs to change and get better as a friend (and human) but i decided to believe he can become a hero (not the number one but still-) and find some peace in his own pain.
plus he is SO FUNNY SJFJAHFHAHDBSBDB sparky boom boom boy deserves to be loved

fine. I'll elaborate it. i may tolerate (love) bakugou but shipping an bully with their victim is big no to me. A relationship based on bullying, fear and harassment is not something to be accept or encouraged. bakugou literally said to izuku to kill himself, he needs to do a lot of therapy and much much more than a few cute scenes together to starts to deserve izuku precious friendship. i swear if he touch my good boy i'll personally kick his ass

bkdk thots because i’m getting back into it....

“Oh! Kirishima, you’re here!” Izuku exclaimed.
“Oh!” Eijirou turned in his seat to look at Izuku. “Hey, Eijirou!” he chirped.
Katsuki looked over at Izuku and gawked once he saw what he had on.
“This adorable little nerd...” he growled out, explosions erupting from his hand.
As soon as Izuku was about a few feet away, he grabbed Izuku’s wrist and yanked him over to him.
“What the hell are you wearing?!” he shouted.
“What?! I’m just wearing some comfy clothes!” Izuku whined.
“With such a wide scoop neck cut?! It’s showing off everything!” he snapped.
“It’s not showing off that much, Kacchan!” Izuku shot back.
As they continued to bicker, Eijirou glanced at Izuku, mentally noting the hickies and bite marks that covered his neck and collarbone. He couldn’t help but grin.
Seems like it did work, after all.

AFO’s personal venom against All Might is part of what makes me think the Dad-for-One theory could be true. Like…I dunno, it seems like such a strangely dedicated, highly personalized loathing.
All Might gives a big damn speech and a final strike…does this end his foe? As if! (holy crap next episode is THAT ONE).
Episode 48 is mostly an episode of exclamations. It’s exciting and dramatic and tense from start to finish, filled with clever strategies from both sides, a brilliant back and forth that all culminates in that wonderful rescue, and with the final battle between good and evil’s ultimate exemplars just revving up to go.

Deku in a state of panic, but when he hears Kacchan’s voice, suddenly he can focus. He’s brave.
Deku is so guilty about that incident, it’s a motivator for him as much as it is for Katsuki.

The next day, Kacchan turns on the cold water while Izuku is showering, resulting in a screaming match that the whole floor gets involved in, and soap bars starts flying everywhere, while Mineta throws his purple balls so that people can grab onto them and not slip on the wet floor, earning a “You’re not that bad, dude,” from Kirishima (It's a lie. Literally everybody hates him). Aizawa punishes them all by making them run laps for an hour the next morning.
Two days later, Izuku retaliates by lowering the thermostat until Kacchan can’t summon fire to burn his clothes, and Iida appears in the doorway holding a flag and shouting, “JUSTICE FOR CLOTHES! NO MORE DESTRUCTION OF FABRIC! WE MUST FIGHT THIS STRIKE AGAINST THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY, COMRADES!”
Kacchan rips the thermostat from the wall with his fire cannons and burns the flag, half of Izuku’s wardrobe, and his bed.//Deku and Kacchan are roommates, and everyone fears for their safety.

BNHA Rewatch: Season 1 Episode 9 “Yeah, Just Do Your Best, Iida”

And we’re back to worldbuilding! These little interviews are great little snapshots of each character. BTW this reporter lady is the same one from Camino Ward and Hosu. Hope she got a raise out of that!
This bit with Bakugou is awesome, as he calmly accepts Aizawa’s advice and acknowledges his failures, as does MIdoriya. They changed this completely in the dub, BTW, having Bakugou be disrespectful to Aizawa (and of course, because they’re the main characters, they’re the only ones whose grades we hear. Darnit.) Also, unrelated, but Bakugou’s unbuttoned shirt collar is sexy.
Class rep time. Full disclosure, first time around I didn’t know what a Class Rep was. Had to watch more anime to figure that out. I’m not entirely clear (because I can’t read Japanese) on how the voting turned out - the chart makes it look like Deku and Jiro both got 3? But they didn’t...anyway, Deku and Momo! I kinda wish they would hang out more, they’re fairly similar and seem like they’d have a fun dynamic.
Love the anime’s added little head tilt from Shoto. Not in the manga. This whole sequence is hilarious and adorable.
Now for some Iichako! Ochaco noticing Iida talks like a rich kid, Ochaco complimenting him on his smile, Ochaco (and Deku) being the only kids at school who Iida told about his identity...it’s all very wholesome and sweet. Until I remember what happens to Tensei and the Ingenium theme starts playing in my head...goddamit...
Good, a distraction! So what did cause this perimeter breach, BTW? Kurogiri? I mean, he can just warp people in wherever, so was it really just the press? But why did Shigaraki dissolve the front door? Does this have something to do with the UA traitor? No idea. I’m sure Traitor Theorists have picked this section apart enough already, though.
Iidaraka teamwork! Iida being awesome here. This is actually really clever as a means to solve the problem, TBH. There are so many smart characters in this show, and the ones who aren’t have that fact pointed out as a visible issue. I love it; so many shows out there feel like the plot only happens because the characters have to avoid smart choices or obvious solutions. BNHA, not so much.
All Might being this good even in his weakened state hypes me up for how insanely OP Deku will be at full power. Like holy crap.
Still not sure what the payoff will be for Tsuyu being onto Deku’s quirk. Guess it’s just a means to introduce her character.
I couldn’t quite put my finger on why I like this section so much, but makeste’s reaction to this scene in the manga sums it up well: “what I really like about this is that I didn’t necessarily expect this dynamic, but it makes sense. these are all kids whose dearest ambition is to become superheroes. they’ve been accepted into the most elite and selective hero course in the country (world?). of course they aren’t going to fall in line according to the typical high school social structure. these are a bunch of wannabe do-gooders – they’re going to value heroic traits like kindness and selflessness, and conversely they’re going to come down hard on anyone who’s mean and self-absorbed which in this case means that for the first time in his life, the bully has become the bullied. poor Bakugou, you’re learning so many life lessons the hard way and you’re barely into your first week yet” (https://makeste.tumblr.com/post/177920533853/bnha-chapter-013-today-i-fucked-up)
Also give it a couple hundred chapters and Kaminari will be getting up in this guy’s face and calling him Kacchan. Character Development!
And finally to the USJ! The villains are in the building, people! Damn, I just finished reading chapter 239, and re-watching this is like “whoa, man, they sure leveled up, huh?” Trying to even conceive of what Season 5 is gonna be like, when they finally get there...it’ll feel like a totally different show. (Also, big FMA fan, so whenever Dub! Tomura talks, all I hear is Kimblee.)
So that’s episode 9! It’s sort of a transition/slice of life ep, so there’s really not a ton that happens. It’s quite endearing and sets up a lot of important stuff. Mostly it reminds me of the bigger things to come in the future.
