Okay. Now that we know what the fuck is ACTUALLY going on in Playful land. Wanna make bets of HOW the story will make us sympathize with Fellow and Guidel?
“Money struggle” isn’t valid, it’s already clear they do.
Also, Yuu should def say “you know what, I was going to actually hear your woes and what not, tell you there is a better way. BUT THIS?! I HOPE YOU GET MADE INTO A SCARF FOR A RICH OLD LADY!”
Honestly, the ONLY way they could even have anything CLOSE to redemption at this point, is if Fellow gets arrested for his crimes, but vouches for Giddel by saying he has nothing to do with the whole Playful Land stuff so he's allowed to go free (which could lead to Giddel getting an SSR if they do what they did with Rollo later on)
Giddel is the only one who's lowkey sympathetic right now; he WANTS to go to school but since he has no magic he can't go to magic school and Fellow keeps him from dreaming or hoping to go to regular school at all because he doesn't want him to be disappointed by reality (maybe due to him being mute or facing discrimination?). Fellow...if you care about Giddel that much, then LET HIM THRIVE! He deserves BETTER than this, and YOU KNOW IT.
...And yes, petition for Yuu to finally just fucking lose it and roar at a bitch. They did it in the prologue, they can do it again!! (Honestly, Canon Yuu deserves way better than the bullshit they're getting in Playful Land; getting caught in the FIRST GROUP?? The DISRESPECT. At least in GloMas they got to run around the city and help weed the flowers while the other boys took care of Rollo >:T)

The Night Raven Circus AU
Tumblr media
"Come one, come all, to the most daring show in all of Twisted Wonderland! Witness spectacles beyond your imagination. Death Defying Aerial dances. Beasts from Hell tamed. Creatures from the depths. Dolls given life and fires run wild. I, Dire Crowley, will be your host this evening. Welcome the Night Raven Circus!"
✨🎪✨
The Night Raven Circus is a famous show that travels all over Twisted Wonderland. With it's Whimsical and Gothic aesthetic, to it's large cast of performers and attractions, it has always stood out over the years and has earned its excellent reputation. And, befitting it's name, the circus is only open at night.
The Ring Leader, Dire Crowley, had hired the best performers he can find. From Lilia, the best swordsman around, known for his sword swallowing an knife throwing tricks and his son Silver who is also learning the act. The fire breather Malleus. Who due to his draconic heritage is able to command fire and control it, leading to a thrilling act that scares and excites the audience. Jamil the talented hypnotist that calls audience members to take part. Along with many more.
The newest addition to the cast being Isabelle, a Beast Tamer. But instead of working with your average circus animals, she tames monsters. Griffins, Hellhounds, and of course, Grim, a feline creature that can go from a kitten to a large fire maned beast.
Other recent additions to the performance lineup being Dires daughter, Darling. Where she controls her hand crafted and life like dolls to perform for the audience. And Dreary, who has a tent she tells fortunes out of. Though most of her predictions are fake, and all her real visions are only bad things to come.
However, with all the fame of the circus, comes those seeking to topple it. The rival Playfulland Circus is run by a man known as the Coachman. The inner workings of their business being shady at best. Whenever they happen to be in the same area as The Night Raven circus, little things tend to go wrong. A wardrobe malfunctions, a prop or two going missing. Giddel has even been caught sneaking around now and then and promptly scolded. However, lately things star to escalate. Equipment is being damaged, costumed shredded. Isabelle has found the cages of her beasts unlocked when she knows for a fact it was closed.
However things take a turn for the deadly when Clara, an aerial dancer, was performing when the rope holding up the hoop she was hanging from snapped and she fell. She walked away with only a few injuries, but now Dire was enraged and needed to find a way to get back at the Playfulland circus for this.
With Darling taking over the slot that was for Claras routine, the rival circus is now keeping a new eye on the new talent to see what else they can sabotage or even copy.
Au thought I talked with @marrondrawsalot (The owner of oc Darling Crowley) about.
@mangacupcake @writing-heiress @the-weirdos-mind
Feel free to add what your characters might be doing in the circus or as audience members. Or even which circus they're apart of.

Can't stop thinking about Giddelle and Fellow Honest. They look so good together and the marionette theme is so amazing! Especially, Lilia's card!

Okay, since I haven't seen many posts up yet about this, not that I blame anyone since others are probably at school and work rn, I want make a post summarizing what happened so far in the latest event on the JP server.
Disclaimers:
All of this info came from LuluBelle over on my Discord server, so all the credit for gathering this up goes to them.
Also, I don't know how to speak or read Japanese nor do I have the JP version of the app, making me unable to verify this. Take this all with a huge mountain of salt.
Like I said in my other post, I'm calling him Honest Fellow, since that sounds less awkward and I think it'll be localized to that anyway.
JP Event Spoilers Below
The arc starts with Honest Fellow and Giddel selling the themepark to some faceless NPCs. After some convincing, they enter the park. Honest Fellow evil laughs.
We cut to a basketball game between RSA and NRC. NRC lose yet again. NRC fight amongst themselves, and the teachers break it up.
After the game, Floyd, Ace, Yuu and Grim, wallowing in their frustration at NRC's loss to RSA, decided to go Craneport to get some snacks. There they find Jade and Jack on the way.Jack was there to get some new threads while Jade was there by sheer coincidence.
Kalim and Ortho arrive. They were in a bookstore, because Kalim was searching for books concerning magic potions, since he's struggling with those and Sam's shop was closed. (I have no idea why Jamil wasn't there either, because him leaving Kalim unattended seems kinda ooc.)
Honest Fellow along with his brother swoop in, making their sales pitch. Grim wonders about what Playful Land is exactly. Ace explains that it's a mysterious amusement park that nobody knows where it is. Honest Fellow says that's correct.
Honest Fellow gives the group tickets to the park. When Kalim says they'll go the next weekend, Honest Fellow chimes in, saying, "Oh, no, no! You can only use it until tomorrow!" They both fuck off into the night.
When the group gets back, they tell Riddle and Jamil about the tickets. They're both like, "Hell no!" Riddle shoots it down because skipping classes is unforgivable. (Ace was originally gonna invite Deuce, but he tattled on him to Riddle, since he found the whole thing suspicious. Honestly, good on him.) Jamil finds it suspicious and puts his foot down, telling Kalim that he forbids him from ever going.
Jack tells Leona, who is all like, "Nah, this is kinda fishy." Jack decides that he has to go because he promised Honest Fellow he would, and he doesn't want to break it.
Floyd tells Azul. He says, "Nope, I'm not coming. It's sus, and I don't wanna owe anybody anything!" They tweels laugh, saying that they want to check it out BECAUSE it's shady.
Ortho tells his brother. He shoots it down, since he doesn't like crowds. Ortho then confides in Vil thanks to them being in the same club.
Early the morning, before the sun rises, the group gathers to sneak to the harbour in town. Kalim managed to get the rest of the Light Music Club to come along, because they saw just how sad Kalim seemed and decided to tag along to comfort him. Vil was convinced to come along by Ortho. One, he wants to see what's the big deal about this park. Two, he's also suspicious, and, as a dorm leader, he wants to oversee all of his juniors and make sure they're all okay. Trey followed after Ace because Deuce asked him for his help and had the feeling that Ace would be stubborn enough to rebel and sneak out even though Riddle said no. Leona followed after Jack because he felt like he had to be the responsible one for once and was genuinely concerned about Jack's well being.
Honest Fellow arrives. He is just so dramatic. Half of them go, "Fucking really? Why did any of our juniors trust this guy? He's as sus as a FNAF animatronic!" (Not in those words, obliviously, but along that same idea.)
Honest Fellow shows them around the park. Which looks like this...
Tumblr media
The park is more like those travelling summer fairs where it goes from town to town instead of staying in one place like Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm or any of the Disney Parks. The boys can kick back and indulge in their darkest desires.
The third years still feel that this whole thing is kinda sus. Since Grim and some of the others head straight to the entry gate, they reluctantly go along with it to watch over their juniors. Grim face plants into the gate, because he didn't show a ticket. Ace shows his ticket. Ace, Grim and Yuu's clothes get magically altered to resemble the ones on the card. The same thing happened to everyone else.
After everyone's gotten inside the amusement park, we have a foreboding speech from Honest Fellow and Giddel about how the young generation are easily skeptical, but can still be fooled by the promises of a fun play park. Honest Fellow mentions how he and Giddel should accommodate their visitors… for it will be the "last'' fun memory that they'd have. Cue End of Part 1.
Some other minor side things...
It's confirmed. Honest Fellow and Giddel are brothers.
Honest Fellow is a mage, but is less magically inclined compared to the NRC boys. Giddel is a non-mage.
Lulu, aka the same person from my Discord server, suspects the themepark itself might be a magic tool of some kind. Considering how it operated in the movie and novel along with fan theories about them, I'm inclined to believe them.
We also finally got a description of what Yuu is actually wearing during this event. (Honestly, it's about fucking time. Because one gripe I always had with these events is that we never get even a small description of what Yuu is wearing, which makes it harder to imagine what's going on in my head.) Basically, they are wearing the same style jacket as Leona, but with the same colours as Lilia's costume. Do with that information as you will Malleus/Yuu shippers.
Honest Fellow has a Honest John pendant on his hat.
More of a personal gripe, but I'm not sure what to make of Honest Fellow as a character yet. Right now, he seems like the mastermind behind this whole operation, but that doesn't make sense. In the movie, Honest John wasn't on board with the Pleasure Island shit, and only went along with it thanks to the Coachman threatening him and Gideon's lives. Wouldn't it be far more fitting for him to be a lacky of another villain and being forced to go along with it out of fear of having the same thing happen to him and his brother? And if that was the case, that would also better align him thematically with Ortho, who's brother is the same way towards him. But I'm reserving my judgements on his character until the event is over.
Playful Land gives me major Joy Joy Land vibes.
I find the idea of Leona, Trey and Vil going there, because they are worried about their juniors adorable. They are really tapping into their big brother instincts, even if I doubt Vil and Leona would ever admit it out loud.
Though, one plot hole with this whole thing is why didn't Jamil, Trey and Deuce rip up the tickets if they were that concerned about the others going to the park? Granted, the tickets could be enchanted so that they're impossible to destroy, but I never heard if that's the case yet. Idk, it's a nitpick, but it's still something that annoys me a bit as a writer myself.

Playful Land— Theories and Rambling.
I'm ab to sound so insane but I genuinely believe that Fellow Honest and Giddell's relationship is meant to parallel Leona Kingscholar and his relationship with Cheka (as well as general siblingisms with the Tweels, Ace's brother possibly making an appearance)
I'm just saying, it makes sense that the first translation of Honest's first name is Pharaoh (from what I'd seen before they corrected but still...) not only that but the themes of Pleasure island being about how the Amusement park encouraged young boys to indulge in misbehaving with the caveat being they'd be turned into donkeys (jackasses) and thus were forced into labor. Making him a Pharoah in that sense.
But I also notice that since his name is actually Fellow, it would mean that he's playing the role of a fellow man who simply wants to "help" others.
I wonder if Fellow Honest is possibly doing the same by funneling misbehaving people as a means to teach them a lesson? Or possibly controlling people as a means to elevate himself? (A combo of Ruggie and Leona mayhap?)
I also want to get into the parting words of "Don't lose your conscience." Conscience being a determiner for your morals and inner voice—something Lampwick and the other boys lose by indulging in rough housing, smoking and other bad behaviours.
Going off the crew being controlled and thus having their villainous traits amplified so that they'd become "donkeys" (Or whatever happens to those who succumb in this event). I'm assuming Giddell or Fellow Honest have a Unique Magic that works like a combo of Ruggie and Jamil—being able to alter one's mind long enough to permanently change them while the other has a Unique Magic to transform/bless someone by turning them into an animals/puppets.

Batman: The Animated Series - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Lloyd Ventrix
A petty crook, Lloyd Ventrix had once been married to a woman named Helen and the couple had a daughter, Kimberly. After being arrested and convicted for robbery, his wife divorced him and placed a restraining order on him, preventing him from seeing Kimmy.
Following his parole, Ventrix was employed by Sam Giddell as an errand boy for his lab. Using his position, he stole materials that bended light so to fashion himself an invisibility suit.  He used this suit to visit Kimmy, pretending to be her invisible friend ‘Mojo.’  He brought Kimmy expensive gifts he had stolen to impress her. Unbeknownst to Ventrix, the suit's properties were toxic, driving him insane.
Having encountered this invisible thief at a jewelry trade show, Batman pursued the culprit, ultimately ascertaining his identity.  Batman managed to captured Ventrix shortly after he had abducted Kimmy.  Kimmy was returned safely to her mother and Ventrix was sent back to prison.
Actor Michael Gross provided the voice for Lloyd Ventrix, with he villain appearing in the fifty-sixth episode of the first season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘See No Evil.’

╰┈➤ 𝐟𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭: Imagine having to pretend to date your ex you got into prison? That is what Fellow Honest is experiencing. Without warning a lovely lady he known for a long time knocks in his door asking for help, it couldn’t be that of a problem, right?
𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔: Fellow Honest, Giddel, Lacy Darling, Twisted Wonderland oc
𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔: Oc x canon
𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒓𝒆: Hurt or angst (?) Hopeful ending
𝒂/𝒏: This will be getting at least 5/6 parts tbh + I REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT GENRE THIS IS
Part 1. | Part 2.
Tumblr media
"So?" Fellow asks Lacy, who sits down with a two towels wrapped around her, this was sure an unexpected move. The thought of him doing what Lacy has done to get to him, was surely not an imaginable thought, for her and him, it would easily be the other way around. "Hold the thought a second, how you got in here?"
"I have my ways." Lacy answered awhile Giddel showed up holding two cigars, one given to Fellow the other to Lacy, who shook her head. "Thank you for the offer, dear. But, I don't smoke."
The little beastman nods, noticing Fellow not lighting up the cigar and even putting it away.
"You must really need my help, don't you?"
It was a quick sigh, but deep enough for they hear it coming in and out of her. "Sadly, yes."
The comment made Fellow turn his head away from her, maybe, this time it wasn't the best thing to remember the past.
With a take breath, he awaits for her to speak, wondering what made her choose such drastic way.
Does she need money? He would give her gold bars. Does she needs a shoulder to cry? He is already grabbing tissues and her favorite movie. Does she-
"I need you to pretend we are faking dating."
He is ready for the kiss.
"I beg your pardon?" Surely, it wasn’t NEAR what he expected. Not just doesn’t make sense, nor makes sense her choosing him.
So many other people would have a clear background with, instead of him.
"I won’t repeat myself." Lacy straightness her posture, right before after sighing once again, as Fellow raised an eyebrow. "My boss has been pressuring me to show up with a date for the upcoming social event. And for that, I need to show up dating someone, it is a really bad reason, and I understand you not accepting, but my job is on the line."
"Why me-?" He clears his throat. "Why is so important you be dating someone?"
"According to him, I must look professional as possible. And without a partner will look like I am slacking and not worrying about my social life."
"What is this? Queen of hearts’ hierarchy?" Fellow sighs a hand covering his face as if making sure this wasn’t a dream. "Why not Crewel, or Crowley? Any of your actual friends?"
"All busy in NRC."
Laying back in his chair Fellow had no idea of how he supposed to agree or disagree with this ridiculous idea. It was certainly the toughest choice of his year, he could say yes and on the way, try to gain her trust, on a hope for a second chance or he could say no, and expect himself to move on.
"Sure." But we both know that isn’t the situation. Fellow’s voice rings her and him back to reality. "We can pretend to fake date." Lacy automatically seemed more relived by his words. "Yet, you have to fake pretend in my job as well, you know to attract costumers."
His smirks is now placed on his face, of course this was a lie. But, this time a good one, or so he hopes.
"Deal!"
Poor Lacy, still ingenue. Yet, he promises that this time he won’t use it for the bad choices of his own life.
"Now, tell me more when this event will be and what will be."
And, so, let it all start. The chaotic situation where forced by an stupid job idea, Fellow and Lacy will have to hangout again for the very first time in years. Will it stay for the ideals of Lacy? Or will the vexer fox get the second chance he hoped for?
Too many questions, but that stays in the future, that holds down a tight rope.

I couldn’t help myself and decided to make a self insert. But here’s the fun twist I had was. Basically Crowley legit didn’t focus on me and I got bored to wonder out of NRC and then boom. I got taken in by Fellow and Giddel. So now I work for Playful Land as the guide attendant.
The spirals are just contacts for laughs and normal eyes are fair.
Me: *bored*
Also me: make my self insert a previous Yuu but gets lost and joined the fucking circus playful land and also gets away using my nickname and not using my real one so the faes can’t control me
Shit I forgot to add like the extra makeup on me

Fellow Honest & Guidel "That shows you how low Honest John will stoop, eh Giddy?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tw: kidnapping, trafficking, adult smoking and drinking around a minor, desensitization to cruelty inspired by p.19-27 of this (cw: disturbing, amputation)
Fellow justifying their actions to Guidel.
Tumblr media
"Look at it this way, Giddy. These people live lofty and privileged lives, and they still want more. These greedy bastards keep wanting everything that they would even take from people who have nothing," he punctuates his sentence by slamming down his tall glass of beer. This startles Guidel a little bit, but he simply nods along and drinks from his own smaller glass of root beer. At least this way, Guidel can safely emulate his older brother's already bad behavior and join him.
They often have these nights after shipping out the last crate. It's meant to celebrate Fellow receiving his salary after a hard day's work, but a few hours after singing old songs and having fun he just begins to complain about the cards they're both dealt with.
"We give them what they want, telling 'em it's all free when it's not. They think eeeverything should fall on their lap because they're born lucky," his drunken ramblings continue. "Those idiots!"
"Everyone that enters Playful Land have given up their original lives. That's the price they have to pay!" Guidel nods in affirmation as the older man lets out a wicked laugh. Fellow finishes with a long drag of his cigarette.
When the park closes, they sell the guests' bodies as puppets. Away from the eyes of their bosses, everything they have on their person that can be worth selling is also sold. For some additional income on the side, these can go from taking the jewelries and piercings on their bodies to carving out the proud ears and tails of other beastmen.
"So there's nothing to feel bad about, okay?"
Fellow smiles and leans in to pat Guidel's head, a small action meant to comfort him. Guidel leans in to his touch and gives him his usual goofy little smile. He can tell Fellow is getting drunker by the second and soon enough he's going to pass out in his work clothes. At the very least, he has never, not once, taken out his anger on the young boy. He just conks out after he's done being mad at the world.
Guidel was taught to perceive the cries and screams of the park guests transforming into wooden puppets as the mere braying of donkeys. It's all empty noise, so that's why he has never thought too hard about their threats towards him and Fellow from inside of their metal cages.
It's not like they're dead. They haven't stooped low enough to become murderers, so that's what helps Guidel sleep at night. He's yet to reach the age to process what a "fate worse than death" is, but he learned that all living beings will eventually reach an eternal slumber somewhere warm and cozy when their time has come. It's not too far from the truth, as puppets who lose their value over the years become firewood.
They signed up for it. He's just doing his job. Most importantly, he and his big brother will get to have food and a safe place to stay in every night.
A few days later, Fellow and Guidel go to rest at an inn of some coastal town. When morning comes, they have to operate Playful Land again to find new guests in the next country they're tasked to go to.
The little boy looks out the window before tucking in. He always hopes for clear skies so he could make a wish to the brightest star in the sky, but it's cloudy tonight.

More Twst x Stardew things
The Royal Sword Corporation opened one of their stores in town years ago. Crowley hates it. He hates the manger, Ambrose, who wants him to sell the community center so they can open another Royal Sword Business in town.
Che'nya works at Royal Sword Mart. Neige actually got his big break from Royal Sword. He got cast in a commercial for it, and it did so well that he's the face of a whole ad campaign now. Vil is angry and jealous because he also auditioned for that role and Neige got picked over him.
Vil still acts and models, but it's on a much smaller scale compared to Neige. Like he gets hired a lot to do ads and commercials for businesses in town, and in all the neighboring towns, to the point he's kind of a local celebrity in the area. He keeps visiting the city to audition for theater, but so far nothing. He ideally would like to move to the city to pursue bigger roles, but it's just not in the cards now.
The witch that turns your eggs into void eggs at night is Malleus grandma. He gets embarrassed, and has tried convincing her to get a different hobby, to no avail.
Fellow and Giddel are event characters. They get hired to work at the county fair during the fall, and sometimes stop by on the Night Market. There's a quest where you can befriend them so they can move into town, and Giddel can join the other kids on their lessons.
Leonas family is very well off. After his father passed while Leona was still a minor, Falena took custody of him, and he still lives with Falena and his wife, Asha. The Kingscholars were successful in their careers and had plenty of money. Like the farmer, they wanted a change of pace from city life and bought a nice inn just outside of town. Falena runs the actual business while Asha still works as a lawyer. Leona is taking online courses while working at the inn. Ruggie also works there and often has to keep Leona on track.
Ace is a carpenter, and was like Robin, the first person in town to greet you and show you to Ramshackle Farm. And like Robin, he also called your grandpa's house crusty. He also has beef with your cat, Grim. Everytime he comes by to work on something, they have a stare off.
Jade is still interested in foraging, and often gives helpful tips, like what is in season and where to find it. His favorite gifts are any mushrooms.
The mermaid who does a show at the Night Market is Rielle.
Ortho, Najma, and Cheka are like the Jas and Vincent in town. They're the local kids you always see running around, along with everyone else's little siblings, like Jack's brother and sister.
Since there's more than two kids in town in this au, there is an actual school house in the area. It's right next to or is connected to the library, and Clara is the local teacher. Trein helps her out by doing the history lessons. Clara will give the older kids their lessons in the morning before doing their more independent study time and class work in the afternoon while she teaches the little ones. Trein usually keeps an eye on the older kids while they work in the library. It's hard though, Lucius keeps demanding their attention when they're supposed to be doing homework.
Ramshackle is still haunted. There's ghost all over the property, and they mostly show up at night. But they will sometime show up indoors, like in the house, sheds, and greenhouse.
If you marry Leona, he will nap in the greenhouse.
If you marry Deuce, he will work on his bike outside.
If you marry Vil, his post marriage heart event is him going away to work after taking a bigger role. Kinda like Elliot going on his book tour.
If you marry Cater, he will post about living on a farm. He will absolutely make vlog type videos going "My day in the life of a stay at home farm husband."

After seeing the summary breakdown on the latest TWST event that takes place based on Pinocchio’s Paradise Island with the shady duo, Honest Fellow and Giddel being the center of it all, I can definitely say that Strix will definitely be on her guard upon having Disney knowledge on Pinocchio and what dangers she will soon encounter behind this theme park’s dark secrets. Perhaps Honest Fellow would feel her unnerving stare, watching him that’s like a creepy doll or a puppet in this case.
It was like the azure blue moonlight casting a spotlight on the man himself. Fellow Honest is no stranger to having all sorts of eyes on him. He can tell those pairs of eyes in particular are brimming with doubt. Yet there is a certain wariness that speaks beyond what their meeting has established. As if they could see into his soul's true nature.
He makes eye contact with her. Strix averts her gaze low to his feet.
Did his shadow move?
In her mind, the voices of her Dream Eaters were hushed. They seem restless.
Something is wrong. Very wrong. A different kind of threat is prowling in the darkness casted by Fellow Honest.
A pair of small hands grasped her hand. Gidel looks up at her with perpetually droopy eyes before beaming a giddy smile. He sidled next to her, nuzzling his face into her arm just like the cat beastman he is.
"It seems Gidel has quickly taken a liking to you. You do have a peculiar scent that's quite... alluring for us beastmen."
When Strix looks up, traces of long ginger locks hovered her vision.
Fellow's foxy smile pins her to her roots.
"We do hope to see you at Playful Land."
This one will surely become a beautiful marionette, the man thinks to himself. Especially with those pure blue eyes devoid of light.
Suspended in the air above the stage, Strix Noctowl's strings wrapped around her body like a hammock.
Her limp hand reached for the white spotlight, and the other towards the floor beneath. All the while wearing a peacefully sleeping expression, pale and delicate like a porcelain doll.
Fellow Honest would laugh at the tragically beautiful display. It would be like a dream come true for anyone walking into Playful Land. It is a paradise one would not want to leave anytime soon.
As he howled maniacally, a pair of red glowing round eyes stares unblinkingly in his shadow, its gaze focused on the sleeping dreamer bound by strings of fate.

I have a question for the kings of blot AU. How did Glorious Masquerade and Stage in Playful land go in this very AU? :D
:0c
:)c
>:)c
Oh in here, we have a lot of chaos.
For Glorious masquerade, Rollo doesn't know that Idia is a permanent overBlot(mama should would make stuffed turkey out of Crowley if he leaks that) so all he knows is that just watch out for the Shroud. He doesn't know why Idia came with the warning label, but ya know... The Ramshackle Dormhead has a magicless student so yep.
Idia is a bit protective of Yuu and Grim, for the sole reason that he knows if he leaves them unsupervised, they would get in trouble.
When the flowers ploy gets revealed, Idia seems to have very little problem. He was running on blot and magic was a very small fraction of his power extent, so he could use that against the flowers who don't take blot.
BUT! Because of his concealing charm, Idia is hindered physically even worse than in cannon. He cannot walk properly and is very tired, to the point Azul has to carry him until they reach the bell tower. In there, both Azul and Malleus insist for Idia to just leave the concealing charms and go punt Rollo.
The thing about Idia is his way of building power. Unlike a normal mage that can fire the same strength of spell until they run dry and have to rest, Idia does almost opposite. He starts weak and as long as he uses magic and his blot powers, he grows stronger. He cannot run dry due to both the fact that he is a permanent overBlot and the Shroud curse working in a constant cycle, but when he rests, he reverts back to being weak. Basically Idia has no limit ro how powerful he could be, which is why he is considered such a threat. Of course, this was only disclosed to STIX and the book 6 group. And also Malleus bc Malleus gets 'gargoyle fanatic Fae on your lawn at 3 am' privileges :3
Anyway, Rollo doesn't expect to see Idia like that, nor he expected for all the blot and the atmosphere Idia was creating around. Like Malleus was the main concern, but Azul always came on defence and Idia was only growing more stronger the more blot was released in between the 3 mages.
Of course, due to the conditions, Rollo overblots. Azul came to be used to this atmosphere due to Idia and Malleus was build different, hence why Rollo was succumbing to the blot a whole lot easier.
That's when Idia properly can step in, as he builded up enough power to take Malleus and Azul's place, while the 2 regain their energy and ring the bell without much need of magic.
In the end, Rollo is defeated. :D
But, ofc, no one ever trusted Rollo to keep on Idia's lil secret. So, there was an ultimatum: Keep your mouth shut and get to live another day or try to speak up and you will see what happens when mages can't be pulled out of the overBlot in time.
Currently Idia sweeped Malleus's palce as the enemy of state no.1 in Rollo's tier list. Azul is just chill. :'3
Now for stage in playful land :3
Ofc, Idia was absolutely suspicious of Yuu and Grim suddenly mentioning about a ticket and a super cool place. His suspicions raise when Ortho mentions about the same place.
So Idia decides to follow his lil brother and spiritually adopted lil siblings towards playful land. He gets stopped midway by the group who don't let him follow for he doesn't have any shiny ticket. Idia falls on agreement with the condition that they would be back by the sunset.
So Idia waits. And waits... And waaaaiiiits... He tried to look into the playful land on the internet, but found nothing. His suspicions can only grow as night settles in and no sign of the others.
So absolutely done with this, he barges in, in the middle of the night, and finds the whole mess. He was absolutely fuming over this and is more than pleased to punt that sham owner right across the face.
Fellow and Giddel are absolutely terrified of Idia simply tearing through all the defence like it's warm butter. Like nothing seems to stop this guy from going straight to Fellow and strangling him like a squeaky toy.
After that, Idia also nags Ortho, Yuu and Grim, holding all 3 grounded, despite Ortho being the Dormhead of Ignihyde :'3
The rest can go and die for all Idia cares, which 1. Rude. 2. yeah... Idia doesn't care if the others are alive or not. :'3

I've seen TikToks where people dunk on Rollo and Honest Fellow, and others, mainly in the Spanish and JP fandoms, being confused about this reaction. To play devil's advocate, the main reason is how the game handled them and that they're poorly written characters. I can pinpoint a few reasons why that is...
Honest Fellow: His motivations to make him sympathetic and his actions are at odds with one another.
In that arc, Honest Fellow gleefully turns people into puppets to sell off to the highest bidder, even hinting at some people using them for sexual pleasure in the JP version. Why is he doing this? Because the school system is hard and he wants to get back at rich people. Yes, really. That's one of the dumbest villain motivations I ever heard! How does that justify what he did or put his actions into perspective? He's a human trafficker! By making the reason why he's doing this something so disconnected from the story makes him seem like a sociopathic monster on par with the Coachman. It's like if someone murdered your pet and said they did that because had a hard time in school. That's horrible, but that has nothing to do with that action nor does that make you like that more any more.
(Personally, if I was writing this arc, I would've made his boss the TWST Coachman, who is threatening to turn Giddel into a puppet if he doesn't do what he says. That makes far more sense, and makes his actions more understandable. I think a lot of us had shitty bosses that forced us to do things we disagreed with or would do a horrible act to protect a loved one. It makes him more like his movie counterpart due to Honest John and Gideon being threatened by the Coachman to convince Pinocchio to come to Pleasure Island, despite Honest John thinking it was fucked up. Idk, that's just me.)
Rollo: While he's better written than Honest Fellow due to his motivations at least making sense, he's still not the best written character either. Shitty and lazy character name aside, being a woobie and not adapting the character in a...questionable manner.
A woobie, for those of you who don't know, is an older fandom term used to describe bland pretty characters with a tragic backstory that the author expects you to feel sorry for them and get away with everything. Oh, boy. Does he fit that definition in spades. He's pretty bland. His only real standout personality traits are that he hates magic and the fae, prideful, traditional and possibly athletic. That's it. He has a sad backstory where his brother died in a fire after his magic got out of control. Fine, that's cliche, but it works. Hell, it's kinda clever in a sense where it's inspired by the Hunchback of Notre Dame off-broadway musical. Characters like Idia point out the hypocrisy in Rollo's ideology and that he is really doing this thanks to his own guilt for his brother's death, which is a good thing. The problem is, outside of him being boring as a character, that despite wanting to suck out all of the magic in the world, he got away with it scott free, and his only form of "punishment" was living with the guilt of knowing everyone thinking that he was some sort of hero…despite Malleus wanting revenge on him five minutes earlier. (I don't get it either.) I think a lot of this problem plays into a reoccurring one the game has a whole—the character stagnation and Yana's utter unwillingness to let them face any consequences for their actions. Rollo is also prejudice against the fae if him covering his nose whenever he's around one is to be concerned, which is also never addressed.
I think the way he was handled was in poor taste. Frollo is one of the most realistic villains in the Disney canon and is triggering to a lot of westerners due to his ties with the Catholic church. Unlike the other Great Seven, there's no way to possibly turn his story to make him seem like a hero nor are their any admirable traits. The fact of the matter is that by making Noble Bell honoured after Frollo, who is such a realistic character and is tied up in a lot of religious baggage for westerners, the game is glorifying his actions to an extent. While I know Christianity is a minor religion in Japan, so adding Christian elements to "spice things up" is common in anime, the developers know that the game is being distributed internationally and should've known better. The game should've made Rollo like the staff where he has no dorm or school honoured after his counterpart. That would've lessened the impact a lot.
Both of them: Like I said with Rollo, they completely get away with their crimes, despite everything they did. That is asinine. All actions have punishments, and that goes for them. Plus, the NRC boys are based on villains! Wouldn't they want to exact their revenge on them, especially in Honest Fellow's case who wanted to turn them into living household items and sex dolls! You are based on villains, act like it!
(This is also a huge problem with the game as a whole, but I wrote other posts about that before, so I don't wanna get into it here.)
So, yeah. There reasons why many English speaking fans dislike or despise these characters. Hell, if anything the reason why they are so beloved in JP and Spanish fandom circles is more bizarre to me. I get it. Honest Fellow is hot. But outside of that...Really? So I guess it goes both ways and we can be baffled at each other's choices. xD
