With Vil's new event on the JP server, people are speculating about what new character we're gonna see. Honestly, I'm 95% certain that we're gonna get Vil's manager, Adela, in this event.
Vil has a very distant relationship with his mother. In his upcoming SSR card on the English server, he said something along the lines of that he doesn't know who his mother is nor care about trying to find out the answer. Which implies, at least to me, that he's the product of a romantic fling, especially given his father's celebrity status. The chances of her showing up are extremely low.
As for Eric, I remember seeing a post awhile ago mentioned that Yana said that characters who played a significant role in the OB's past won't be showing up in person and will be just an outline. This lines up with what we've seen so far. Farena never shown up during Leona's hometown event. Jamil's parents or Mr Asim never showed up in his either. (Granted, I think this is bullshit, and I don't see the logic in this. But, whatever. That's besides the point.) If Yana is still keeping up this pattern, then he won't be showing up either.
That only leaves Adela. Honestly, while this might be an unpopular opinion, I'm kinda glad that's gonna be the case. I have so many headcanons about Eric, mostly about him being Ben Barnes with the Darkling's powers (yes I know that he's a non-mage in canon, the worldbuilding in this game is stupid, so I don't care), that they would be shattered if he ever showed up in person. I want to keep them. Whereas I'm curious about Adela's character and her connection to Vil. Unlike Najma, Marja and Kifaji, she showed up in the main story. I want to see her in person.

I have been having thoughts this morning. Tagging @druidx and @blind-the-winds because the two of you will totally understand where I'm coming from with this.
Hubs and I have been watching through his Due South dvd collection the last few weeks and have just made it to season 3. It's kind of hilarious to watch this series now that 1. I'm a lot older than I was when it first aired in the UK and 2. I've been more than a bit obssessed with the platonic relationship between Elowyn and Meredith the last couple of days.
Hubs and I have both been joking about the "platonic marriage" of Fraser and Vecchio and have both unironically been calling them husbands throughout seasons 1 and 2. And do you know something? I realised that the relationship between Fraser and Vecchio is the best possible example in media that I can point to to explain Merri and Elowyn. Two partners in crime-solving that pretty much complete one another, and are so ride or die for each other that they'll cross whole damn countries if they get even a whiff of the other being in trouble, international relations be damned.
I don't think I've seen this concept so beautifully portrayed in live action media since. And Due South was a buddy cop tv series that aired in the *90s*. Since I must have been around 7 or 8 years old when I first watched this show, I'm pretty sure that this influenced my opinion on relationships in general from then on.
The best bit? The first episode of season 3 offended me so much I almost cried. In hindsight, I realise that it was only because it was a violent reminder of what I had to do in order to retire Merri at the mid-point of the campaign, thereby forcing Merri and Elowyn to "break up" in a similar way that Fraser and Vecchio were forced to (and also because people keep on inadvertently gaslighting Fraser the whole episode, but that's a whole other thing in itself).
Now excuse me while I plot out a Titan Fighting Fantasy/Due South modern AU crossover (after my brain stops breaking my heart with all the damn angst).

You mentioned that you like people sharing blurbs so I thought I’d share one!
In Sagau I imagined the statues of the creator to have an aura around it. Like it changes depending on their mood. so sometimes people will visit the statues to feel closer to the creator or to talk to the statue. It would be customary to visit the statues when one is really happy to share their happiness with the creator. Which would cause little bursts of happiness within the creators everyday life.
I just thought it was a sweet headcanon to share! I hope you have a good day!

idk if yall are into the ship, but the worldbuilding in this zhongli/childe fic goes so hard, and this kinda reminded me of how the author descibed genuine/"filling" offerings to the gods being like, less of a business transaction and more of a, "i got so happy seeing all the flowers i handmade a flower crown just to share it with you!" and THATS what you give a god to give them a satisfying meal

Okay, since I haven't seen many posts up yet about this, not that I blame anyone since others are probably at school and work rn, I want make a post summarizing what happened so far in the latest event on the JP server.
Disclaimers:
All of this info came from LuluBelle over on my Discord server, so all the credit for gathering this up goes to them.
Also, I don't know how to speak or read Japanese nor do I have the JP version of the app, making me unable to verify this. Take this all with a huge mountain of salt.
Like I said in my other post, I'm calling him Honest Fellow, since that sounds less awkward and I think it'll be localized to that anyway.
JP Event Spoilers Below
The arc starts with Honest Fellow and Giddel selling the themepark to some faceless NPCs. After some convincing, they enter the park. Honest Fellow evil laughs.
We cut to a basketball game between RSA and NRC. NRC lose yet again. NRC fight amongst themselves, and the teachers break it up.
After the game, Floyd, Ace, Yuu and Grim, wallowing in their frustration at NRC's loss to RSA, decided to go Craneport to get some snacks. There they find Jade and Jack on the way.Jack was there to get some new threads while Jade was there by sheer coincidence.
Kalim and Ortho arrive. They were in a bookstore, because Kalim was searching for books concerning magic potions, since he's struggling with those and Sam's shop was closed. (I have no idea why Jamil wasn't there either, because him leaving Kalim unattended seems kinda ooc.)
Honest Fellow along with his brother swoop in, making their sales pitch. Grim wonders about what Playful Land is exactly. Ace explains that it's a mysterious amusement park that nobody knows where it is. Honest Fellow says that's correct.
Honest Fellow gives the group tickets to the park. When Kalim says they'll go the next weekend, Honest Fellow chimes in, saying, "Oh, no, no! You can only use it until tomorrow!" They both fuck off into the night.
When the group gets back, they tell Riddle and Jamil about the tickets. They're both like, "Hell no!" Riddle shoots it down because skipping classes is unforgivable. (Ace was originally gonna invite Deuce, but he tattled on him to Riddle, since he found the whole thing suspicious. Honestly, good on him.) Jamil finds it suspicious and puts his foot down, telling Kalim that he forbids him from ever going.
Jack tells Leona, who is all like, "Nah, this is kinda fishy." Jack decides that he has to go because he promised Honest Fellow he would, and he doesn't want to break it.
Floyd tells Azul. He says, "Nope, I'm not coming. It's sus, and I don't wanna owe anybody anything!" They tweels laugh, saying that they want to check it out BECAUSE it's shady.
Ortho tells his brother. He shoots it down, since he doesn't like crowds. Ortho then confides in Vil thanks to them being in the same club.
Early the morning, before the sun rises, the group gathers to sneak to the harbour in town. Kalim managed to get the rest of the Light Music Club to come along, because they saw just how sad Kalim seemed and decided to tag along to comfort him. Vil was convinced to come along by Ortho. One, he wants to see what's the big deal about this park. Two, he's also suspicious, and, as a dorm leader, he wants to oversee all of his juniors and make sure they're all okay. Trey followed after Ace because Deuce asked him for his help and had the feeling that Ace would be stubborn enough to rebel and sneak out even though Riddle said no. Leona followed after Jack because he felt like he had to be the responsible one for once and was genuinely concerned about Jack's well being.
Honest Fellow arrives. He is just so dramatic. Half of them go, "Fucking really? Why did any of our juniors trust this guy? He's as sus as a FNAF animatronic!" (Not in those words, obliviously, but along that same idea.)
Honest Fellow shows them around the park. Which looks like this...
The park is more like those travelling summer fairs where it goes from town to town instead of staying in one place like Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm or any of the Disney Parks. The boys can kick back and indulge in their darkest desires.
The third years still feel that this whole thing is kinda sus. Since Grim and some of the others head straight to the entry gate, they reluctantly go along with it to watch over their juniors. Grim face plants into the gate, because he didn't show a ticket. Ace shows his ticket. Ace, Grim and Yuu's clothes get magically altered to resemble the ones on the card. The same thing happened to everyone else.
After everyone's gotten inside the amusement park, we have a foreboding speech from Honest Fellow and Giddel about how the young generation are easily skeptical, but can still be fooled by the promises of a fun play park. Honest Fellow mentions how he and Giddel should accommodate their visitors… for it will be the "last'' fun memory that they'd have. Cue End of Part 1.
Some other minor side things...
It's confirmed. Honest Fellow and Giddel are brothers.
Honest Fellow is a mage, but is less magically inclined compared to the NRC boys. Giddel is a non-mage.
Lulu, aka the same person from my Discord server, suspects the themepark itself might be a magic tool of some kind. Considering how it operated in the movie and novel along with fan theories about them, I'm inclined to believe them.
We also finally got a description of what Yuu is actually wearing during this event. (Honestly, it's about fucking time. Because one gripe I always had with these events is that we never get even a small description of what Yuu is wearing, which makes it harder to imagine what's going on in my head.) Basically, they are wearing the same style jacket as Leona, but with the same colours as Lilia's costume. Do with that information as you will Malleus/Yuu shippers.
Honest Fellow has a Honest John pendant on his hat.
More of a personal gripe, but I'm not sure what to make of Honest Fellow as a character yet. Right now, he seems like the mastermind behind this whole operation, but that doesn't make sense. In the movie, Honest John wasn't on board with the Pleasure Island shit, and only went along with it thanks to the Coachman threatening him and Gideon's lives. Wouldn't it be far more fitting for him to be a lacky of another villain and being forced to go along with it out of fear of having the same thing happen to him and his brother? And if that was the case, that would also better align him thematically with Ortho, who's brother is the same way towards him. But I'm reserving my judgements on his character until the event is over.
Playful Land gives me major Joy Joy Land vibes.
I find the idea of Leona, Trey and Vil going there, because they are worried about their juniors adorable. They are really tapping into their big brother instincts, even if I doubt Vil and Leona would ever admit it out loud.
Though, one plot hole with this whole thing is why didn't Jamil, Trey and Deuce rip up the tickets if they were that concerned about the others going to the park? Granted, the tickets could be enchanted so that they're impossible to destroy, but I never heard if that's the case yet. Idk, it's a nitpick, but it's still something that annoys me a bit as a writer myself.

Brought this up a couple times on the Darklina server, but I want to put it out there on here. Mal/Alina ironically comes across as a male centric power fantasy pairing. Alina has to lower herself to be with him. He also treats her as this dainty flower that must be protected while valuing her purity and wanting to vanquish the other man. While Aleks, especially in the show, comes across as an equal and someone who cherishes her for who she is.
To compare these pairings to Disney ones, they are like Jasmine/Aladdin to Belle/Adam. One was awarded the girl while the other had to earn it by fixing himself. Malina is the former, which is more male centric as a pairing. Darklina is the latter, being female centric.
I understand what LB was trying to make Mal Peeta-like, but it falls flat. When Mal seems like the one you would expect to be based on the abusive ex instead of his rival, you know you fucked up somewhere. Let's face it. Many women have an ex like book!Mal.

I've seen stupid hot takes on here and floating around on the former bird app that My Happy Marriage is Yamato Nadeshiko/tradwife propaganda. I feel criticisms like these are completely missing the point.
Miyo isn't like that for no reason. Miyo in a lot of ways is like Disney's Cinderella. They were both abused as children and forced to serve a family of assholes, and in Miyo's case, she became quiet and obedient as a survival mechanism. That makes sense, considering a lot of abuse victims are like this.
If the series was genuinely either of those things, it would stop there and treat that as a virtue, but it doesn't. Miyo's arc is about learning how to stand up for herself and that she doesn't have to be this perfect housewife in order to be happy. Both Kudo and his sister chastise her when she over works herself and keeps her opinions to herself, encouraging her to open up. Kudo assures her that he loves her for who she is.
Instead the series is a story about a girl gaining her inner strength. It's quite feminist in that regard. Women don't have to unstoppable badasses like Captain Marvel or Wonder Woman to be considered that. Women can be strong in different ways.

Something I want to see in a TWST rewrite fic? Ace included in the Glorious Masquerade event.
Ace is a defiant person, who isn't afraid to stand up to those in authority and be a voice of reason. On top of the ending of Heartslabyul, he has done that during Ghost Marriage and Endless Halloween Night. I can see him putting Rollo on blast for what he did and make sure that Malleus actually holds him accountable for his crimes instead "making him live his guilt since the bell knows his sins". (God, that's so fucking stupid.)
Ace also shares a lot of similarities with Rollo's younger brother, who passed away. Both are younger siblings with a positive view on magic, and use their magic carelessly or for things Rollo would deem frivolous. So him chewing Rollo out would be highly uncomfortable for him, since it's like an older version of his dead brother disapproving of his actions. That would totally set Rollo off, sending him into a fresh fit of rage for similar reasons as Riddle. Hell, I can see that sending him into an overblot.
Granted, I'm not adding Ace into that event in mine due to a few future plot points that make it difficult for me to fit him in what I have outlined for that. But if anyone else out there who is tackling that event and this inspired you, fucking go for it. I really want to see a version that does that.

I read a post where OP listed off all of the reasons why they don't see Mallyuu being possible in canon and believes that Malleus would be in a politically arranged marriage to a powerful fae of high status. I strongly disagree with OP. Even as someone who isn't a huge Malleus stan or has their Yuu shipped with him.
Okay, sure. If we're looking at that possibility from a strictly dogmatic historical and realistic lense, then I agree that statement would be correct. But we're not talking about the possibility of a real life marriage for a crown prince here, but about a fictional one in a Disney game. In that case, I think it's possible. Because...
I don't think game has such a law actually put in place. The game never mentioned it. The closest thing are that stupid council, who could be overthrown or put in their place, and Lilia saying that "Malleus can't enter a marriage lightly" during the Ghost Marriage event. (Far as I'm aware, I've tuned out most of Book 7 since it's mostly just one stupidly long flashback.)
If such a law did exist and Malleus was in a canonical arranged marriage, wouldn't the game have brought it up by now? (Yana sucks at foreshadowing and laying down this shit, but come on! That's too much even for her. xD)
Yuu brings some things to the table. They are human. Malleus marrying them would help with diplomatic relations between the fae and the humans. With how isolated the fae are in that world, they kinda need it. They also survived several overblots and would've saved Malleus' life, which is worth something.
I'm pretty sure that his grandmother could pull a Sultan and just change the law if such a thing is in place. She's one of the most powerful fae in the world, so what she says goes. She could easily put that council in their place if she must.
Dragon eggs in canon can only be hatched by true love, either platonic or romantic. (Even if I think that whole thing is silly, but that's beside the point.) If Malleus was in an arranged loveless marriage, he would never be able to produce an heir like the council wants, even if he has an AFAB/cis female partner. If they want any kids from him and he marries an AFAB person/cis female, it must be someone he loves like Yuu. If he marries someone AMAB or cis male, then he can just adopt or use a surrogate.
If we bring mythology/folklore into this, it's even more possible. The fae criteria for marriage is focused more on how talented and attractive the human partner is, that's it. There are plenty of stories where fae "spirit away" normal human women and men away to marry fae royalty. I imagine the fae in TWST are similar.
As for the life span thing, I think either Malleus will pull an Edward and let Yuu age normally or have the human partner drink fae aging potion. (I went with the latter in my own writing in a general sense. Again, shipping my Yuu with Jamil.)
Even if he was in one, he would find a way out of it. One of the biggest tropes that the Disney brand stands for is "true love conquers all". While the form of that love changes, that idea remains the same. The game shattering that by making Malleus be doomed to be in a loveless arranged marriage forever would go against what the brand stands for, so it seems highly unlikely. The fact that the game is also tapping into the otome market makes it even less so.
So, yeah. While I don't think MallYuu will ever be canon, I think a union between them is quite possible. It's fanfiction. Do whatever you want.

I was talking with some others on my TWST server about how Vil and Neige's dynamic doesn't work. One of the members pointed out something that I never thought of before. The NRC team should've WON the VDC. Hear me out.
Part of the problem with that arc is that Vil never truly realizes how fruitless his one-sided rivalry with Neige actually is. Vil and Neige's dynamic reminds me a lot of Lance's dynamic with Keith from Voltron. They both fall flat for the same reason—neither Vil or Lance truly realize that they're using their rivalry as an outlet for their personal insecurities and thusly never grow as people.
While Vil knows that he's in the wrong, hence why he says that he's "ugly" when he overblots, the narrative goes out of the way to validate him. By making him lose by a single vote on Rook's part, it casts him as a victim, feeding into his mindset even more. He can go, "Look, look! I lost. It's all Neige's fault. He must pay for stealing for what is rightfully mine." That makes him loopback to square one and never grow as a person.
Instead Vil should've gotten everything that he wanted. He should've won the competition, but it doesn't feel like the sweet victory that he thought it would be. That's when he realizes that wasn't the validation he was actually looking for, and he was only using Neige as an outlet for his own demons. He apologizes to Neige for how he was acting, which Neige forgives him for.

Me: I hate the "male mc is shipped with the girl in the main trio trope" that happens in YA novels. It usually reduces the female character involved to a prize for the mc. Often times the relationship seems their out of obligation rather than something that's organic and makes sense for those characters. In really bad cases, the female character is underdeveloped and bland. There are countless examples of this, especially in anime and western cartoons from the 2000s.
Also Me: Oh, my God! Percabeth is so fucking adorable! Their relationship development is absolutely incredible, unfolding at a believable pace. They're extremely close. Even when Percy loses most of his memories, he still remembers her. That's very powerful. If anything happens to them or Solangelo, I will rip up Tartarus to save them.

I was voice chatting with @stormkitty97, and we talked about the new Percy Jackson episode. After talking about that scene where Percy explains why he picked Grover and Annabeth to come, she brought up an interesting thought—what if Luke went on the first quest instead of Annabeth? We came up with some ideas.
Luke in the canon seems like Zuko gone wrong. If he tagged along, Percy would act like an Uncle Iroh presence for him. Not that we think Percy would give out sage advice or something, but his kindness and good nature would rub off on him and make him question things more.
Medusa would still make the same offer to Percy as she did in the show, but Luke would be able to charm her more and use himself as a distraction thanks to him being a son of Hermes instead of Athena.
Luke would be distracted by either Sims 5 or Baldur's Gate 3 in the Lotus Casino, the former thanks to him being able to craft a better life for himself and the latter for allowing him to craft a dark persona and be edgy.
Luke and Percy would go in the Tunnel of Love, even if neither of them will see the other like that.
Luke would save Grover from Tartarus thanks to Percy rubbing off on him.
Luke would still betray Percy to Kronos, but it would be more like how Zuko betrayed the Gaang in ATLA vs how it went down in the books.
Luke would have a change of heart, and betray Kronos. Unlike the canon, he would be able to survive the tale and join in the fight at the end.
If anyone wants to write this AU, go for it. We both really wanna read a fic like this.

I heard a lot of discourse over the past few years about Vil being a dick for forcing Epel to change his accent. I feel like a lot of people are missing key cultural context.
In Japan, changing one's accent to be more understandable is not only common, but considered polite. Similar practices are common in some other Asian countries. In the original Japanese version, Epel doesn't speak in a American Southern Accent, obviously, but a Tsugaru dialect. According to Japanese fans, this accent is harsh and really difficult to understand, even for native Japanese speakers. Vil advising Epel to change his accent would've been seen as a good deed by Vil and played into his mothering tendencies in the eyes of Japanese players.
However, here in the west, changing your accent to be more understandable is not a thing, so it makes Vil come across as a classist asshole. If Epel was BIPOC, then it would be racist and make him seem like the world's biggest douche. While that wasn't Yana's intention, it comes across that way to westerners.
Personally, if I was localizing the game, I would've just scrapped that element all together. It's one of those things that's impossible to translate and will always put Vil in a super negative light no matter how they spun it. Plus, Vil is a western white guy, so him being so concerned about that makes no sense in universe. Hell, that's why I scrapped that aspect into my own TWST rewrite. But, like a lot of aspects of the localization, they made that choice, despite it making no sense, and there's not much we can do about it.
TLDR: Vil making Epel change his accent is one of those things that only makes sense to Japanese people and is lost in translation in the west. Because of cultural differences, westerners are far more likely to see him in a super negative light thanks to keeping this aspect in.
Edit: Just to clarify something. Yes, there are some westerners who look down at regional accents or go to a specialist to help coach them to talk more clearly. That's why speech therapists are a thing. Hell, I even went to one when I was in elementary school. However, that's done at the person or parent's consent. Marching around and demanding people to "talk better" would be considered rude in the west, but not so much in Japan or other similar countries. Doing that someone who didn't ask first, especially when you are highly unqualified, is seen as a dick move. Plus, there's isn't super huge societal pressure to talk in the most generic as possible in order to be seen as polite in western countries. For the most part, people can talk in their regional accents unless they are in the public eye or decide to do that themselves. Sorry I wasn't clear about that before.
