So I have not been succeeding a ton on my plan to get back into writing this month…

#tries to fall asleep #fails #briefly nods off then has the most awful graphic nightmare #stays awake for two more hours just to not have nightmares #finally falls asleep at 6am out of sheer exhaustion #wakes up every forty minutes or so #feels simultaneously unable to sleep but also too tired to get up #gets up because it is time for work #feels like I lost a whole month because I spent most of its days in bed #people who suffer insomnia permanently!!! you are incredible and I see you <3 #this sucks and I have no idea how you live with it all the time #hope it goes away soonnnnnn #(this post is mostly just an explanation for why I didnt write those fics I said I would write (whoops)#but honestly it turned into a ramble im too tired to edit at this point #not to cause any alarm or anything though! christ sometimes I just wanna. steal a time machine & go back & sit down next to my 9-year-old self and just like. let them pull out their pokemon card binder & gush about their holographic gyarados or whatever. I'd just smile & ask questions about motherfukcing bulbasaur & tell my kid self that I thought they were a neat person, & someday they'd find other people who thought so too.

like i'm a grown adult who honestly finds most kids stuff boring, but. damn if i could go back & hang out with my baby self & listen to them ramble...just so they knew someone was listening. i would in a heartbeat. thinking about u kid

#wouldn't roll my eyes or check my phone or get bored or nothing #I'd just listen to that little dork & smile & encourage them & let them explain how their favorite gameboy games worked #i was the kind of kid my adult self would find annoying & uninteresting but like #most of the actual adults in my childhood felt that way too. including my dang parents.#and ya know sometimes they showed it. a lot of times without realizing it. and that messes a kid up #if you don't make an effort kids WILL recognize your disinterest and lack of attention.#kids deserve to have caregivers who show interest and engagement #even when it's over stuff that adults find boring. especially then maybe #your kid doesn't have to be fun or interesting or easy or well behaved to deserve positive attention #they deserve positive attention because they are YOUR KID #if love is unconditional then DISPLAYS of LOVE and AFFECTION must also be unconditional #not something that must be earned #telling your kid that you love them is not enough. that is step one out of like a thousand #if you just tell your kid you love them but you don't demonstrate affection and interest and patience and warmth and etcetera #your kid isn't gonna feel loved! If not for diasomnia then any other characters are fine as well!

I don't think I really have any really solid headcanons and also canon keeps validating me left and right (FLUFFY DOMESTIC DIAFAM IS REAL). mostly just kind of...impressions and general thoughts, if that makes sense! lately though I've been kind of obsessed with thinking about Lilia's hair, and specifically when/why he ended up cutting it. (l-look, we're bouncing around the timeline and I gotta make decisions about these things when I draw, it's relevant) (I mean I would probably be weirdly fixated on this anyway, but.)

I think I've settled on the idea that he kept it long until he went to NRC, partly because 1) I like drawing The Ponytail, and 2) I think he thought of NRC as a chance to reinvent himself a bit! he gets to go and be a wacky carefree teenager for a few years and have fun! (officially he's there to keep an eye on Son #1, but how much trouble could he get into, really.) so he gave himself a Cool Teen Haircut to go with his fresh new Cool Teen Persona!

also maybe he had some reflection on his hair's troubled past with three kids...

...and had to weigh his vanity versus the fact that he was going off to be around hundreds of kids on a daily basis, and. the choice suddenly seemed obvious.

Zionists want you to conflate Judaism and Zionism. Zionists want you to believe that Judaism cannot exist without Zionism and that all Jews are Zionists. Zionism would have Jews believe that a Jewish state is the only way that they can be safe from antisemitism and will point to any instance of antisemitism as proof that Zionism is the solution- so Zionism wants gentiles to be antisemitic in their support of Palestine. They want you to conflate all Jews with Zionism and the state of Israel, and they want you to treat all Jews regardless of political affiliation as the face of Israel. Antizionist Jews exist, and incidences of antisemitism ostensibly acting against Zionism will not help dismantle the forces propping Zionism up.

Eddie falls asleep live streaming again one night . He’s only been asleep for a couple hours when Steve starts fussing. He sits up in bed, nudges Eddie, and then says in a voice that’s more sleep than awake, “Ed?”

Eddie responds in a similar tone, “Hm?”

“Get up. We’re gonna be late.”

“Kay.”

Eddie grabs his phone out of habit when he gets out of bed (Steve leaves his on the nightstand). If he would have looked at his phone than he would’ve seen that it’s three in the morning but he doesn’t, so it’s only when he starts the car that he questions, “What are we doing?”

It takes beat or two for that question to register before Steve answers, “…I don’t know.”

This is followed by silence.

Then a snort, and then Steve laughs out loud when Eddie says, “I didn’t even put pants on.”

I think a lot about Leo’s tendency to push his way into the spotlight despite clearly being a natural in the shadows. Hell, you could argue that his worst moments are when he’s forcing himself onstage, and his best are when he does things no one notices until it’s already been done.
