1. Character that everyone gets wrong.

Lol, we're starting with the heavy weaponry aren't we? You know? To spice things a little bit, I'm gonna choose an Arc V character and a Kubera character, even though only one of my mutuals reads the last one >.>

Arc V

Well... as much as I would like to say Reiji again, I think I've established enough times how misinterpreted his character is, so this time I'll choose...

Ray Akaba, I wasn't even aware that there were still people around who apparently hate her so much, that they would call for the "Ray hater nation" or whatever, I'm not gonna mention who it was but it was very recent, which honestly makes me remember that one tweet pointing out how silly people sound when they justify not liking badly written female character, how they'd supposedly love them if they were better written, when they couldn't handle any of them having one bad feeling for they boyfavs.

And that's really all there sees to be behind A LOT of the Ray hate going around: They hate her because canonically she defeated Zarc and she split him and then split herself to chase him across dimensions, and hate that she was the one who had to give the coup of grace in the duel against him.

They hate that canonically, Ray is one of the best duelist in the yugiohverse, and they will pull the weirdest excuses out of their backside to justify why she's the worst, how she was "too conceited" to believe she could take Zarc on her on, like excuse me, she absolutely took him down, TWICE, not sure what series you were watching, how she supposedly pulled a deus ex machina with the En Cards, as if the requirements to use them weren't ridiculously difficult to meet and wouldn't require a very skilled duelist, how she was dumb for sparing Leo because he caused an wat to bring her back, like, sweetie, the world would have ended anyway because with or without Leo, Zarc would have awakened eventually, that's why Ray set herself to always chase him down and defeat him over and over, like honestly i could dedicate a whole rant essay to the ridiculous claims I've seen made about her.

But the one thing everyone ALWAYS gets wrong is this, and I'm gonna put it in all caps and bold text because it needs to be said:

RAY ALONG WITH ZARC CREATED THE PENDULUM SUMMON AND THE PENDULUM CARDS!!

(AND VERY LIKELY ALSO YUYA'S PENDULUM NECKLACE)

Seriously people, this isn't rocket science, the entirety of the 6th opening and ending is FULL of visual cues about how the both of them did it, we have visuals of Yuya and Yuzu forming the energy for the Pendulum, we know Ray was able to create and give cards to Reira in her spirit-like form, heck, lately the card game has released a bunch of cards that attach the word pendulum to Ray as well, come on.

And that's just something that a large portion of the fandom always gets wrong about her.

Kubera

For this webtoon there is way too many people with the worst takes on many characters, befitting as the characterization of the story is very complex and well-made, and many of them are girls, and the girls can just as flawed and commit terrible actions as the dude characters.

But one character that seems to exceed the number of bad takes rather than the good ones is Menaka.

Menaka is a nastika, a race who in this story are sort of like opposing force to the gods, the author has even mentioned that humans sort of see them like "evil gods", some fit the label more than others, and others like Menaka are the exact opposite of evil, she was actually hailed as the one nastika who was qualified enough to eventually become the wisest king of the clans, and would be the first one to reach enlightenment and defeat one of the main villains. Unfortunately this one villain would have none of that and screwed her over on a cosmological level to the point it costed her everything, her power, her life, her clan, her future, and she ended up being screwed over after her death and then some more.

Without saying too many things confusing to non-readers that's the gist, as as the type of character who was tricked into abandoning everything for the greater good, and lived and died to regret it because she ended up doing a lot of damages for her decisions as well, and then sacrifice herself once more she's the perfect candidate to be hated, mischaracterized, mocked, straight up make things up about her character that you'd thing they're talking about someone else.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that people called her a groomer and the true villain of the story, not like a joke or hyperbole, but as like what they actually think of her -_-'

Uff, that was hard to write without possibly spoiling anyone lol (don't judge me, Kubera in ongoing, Arc V is over :P)

21. part of canon you think is overhyped

Arc V

The Xyz arc, that all I have to say, I mean, you guys know me, for those who follow me when it was airing, you know my feelings about it and you know the absolute boredom that brings me every single time any of the xyz dimension characters were the focus (unless Yuzu, Dennis, Sora or Yuya were in them lol)

People love to say that the series did them dirty because they deserved a full arc, but honestly, we deserved a full arc dedicated to the fusion dimension, and I will die in that hill.

Kubera.

You know? Kubera doesn't have overhyped parts, because the series as a whole is just so underrated and obscure, and everything is so interwoven together, that it's impossible to remove any parts without affecting the overarching plot so... *shrugs*

Hello! Below you will find some important info on Sangwon as I further flesh him out in the coming days (busy time of the year, so I’m a bit behind on things). You will also find a few wanted connections or plots if interested. Can’t wait to get started writing with you all! Simply like this post and I will dm you to plot.

Yi Sangwon is part of the Crescent Island family and is the youngest child of 3 siblings.

Being a noble child always comes with expectations. Sangwon has always been told how to behave and what to do. Sometimes he feels more like a puppet than an actual person, and that is one of many reasons why he volunteered as tribute for house Yi. He is trying to break free and choose a path for himself.

Sangwon has always been rather cold on the outside, having a hard time showing emotions and the like. He prefers to keep a safe distance between him and other people. The only people he shows a softer side to are his siblings. He might not always tell them, but they hold great significance in his life. Which is also another reason why he volunteered. The final push for him to actually apply as a tribute came after Sangwon found out his sister would be a tribute. He decided to volunteer immediately after, wanting to prevent his brother from being chosen too.

Although Sangwon is a skilled fire bender and well acquaintance with arrow and bow, he is still very young and has much more to learn. However, he believes he can win the 25th Agni Kai. Sangwon is confident in his abilities and winning is one of his main goals because this could be his chance at proving to everyone his worth, but also to make a name for himself that exceeds the one already set for him.

WANTED CONNECTIONS AND PLOTS

A deeper established relationship with members of house Yi. (especially with his siblings please I beg,,,)

A really close friend who Sangwon grew up with. They share the same interests and are practically inseparable. This person knows Sangwon better than anybody else does and has been witness to Sangwon’s much softer side.

His mentor. It would be nice to explore this dynamic and perhaps form a closer blond that might be rough on the outside, but deep down has a more caring nature, even if not directly displayed.

Current or Ex lover/crush(?). Something more romantic. Though, Sangwon has a hard time expressing intimacy. Perhaps this could lean more into something angsty, maybe even toxic, depending on their dynamic. There could have been a fight over him volunteering as a tribute because he might die. I’m open to anything really as long as there is a heavy plotting involved for this connection.

Enemy or Rival. Sangwon is quite competitive and due to the fact he is rather cold and appears slightly arrogant people tend to misunderstand him and his intentions. So having an enemy or a rival wouldn’t be unusual for someone like Sangwon.

I’m also open for any event plots!

Universal Ranks

Each clan is unique and celebrates its own customs. But despite their differences, each one follows the same skeleton when it comes to hierarchy.

Leader

Follows closely to canon. Gifted nine lives from Starclan, leaders are expected to devote every last one to the betterment of their clan. They oversee many clan duties as well as preside over ceremonies. With help of the deputy, they are given the final say of mentors and warrior names. However, most of their attention is on foreign policy.

If a previous leader leaves or retires with spare lives, they must take the trip to the moonplace and relinquish them to their deputy. Otherwise the next leader will receive that many fewer lives.

Deputy

The cat in charge of a clan’s internal affairs. They assign daily patrols and monitor the apprentices’ training. In Thunderclan especially they are almost considered a second mentor. With how involved they are with daily duties, it’s not uncommon for a clan to be closer to their deputy than the leader.

Normally only warriors can become deputy. However, clan history is full of especially bold or skilled crafters who earned their right to the position. Wrenstar of Windclan went on to become one of the most beloved leaders in recent history.

Head Medic

Only ever one at a time, the head medic acts as a sort of generalist healer. They are expected to have functional knowledge of at least three specialties, though many pride themselves on knowing more. They organize the other medics beneath them for daily duties. Should there be medic apprentice(s) to train, the head is responsible for overseeing their learning.

Unless physically unable to, they must appear at every half-moon meeting. By taking this rank they become the medical and spiritual face to the other clans.

Medics

Unlike the Head, medics usually seek out a specialty to stick with. If an apprentice is interested in a specialty currently practiced in another clan, they may take a brief leave to learn from that other medic. After all, medics are always above clan conflicts. Their duty is to heal those who need it, regardless of allegiance.

Officially, there are nine Specialties to choose from. Working together, they help the head medic keep the clan whole and healthy. Apprentices are also trained jointly between all medics before they select a specialty.

Warriors

The main body and muscle of the clan. They perform the general duties of hunting, patrolling, and fighting in border skirmishes. However, some prefer to focus on one task over the others, spending more time hunting than sparring for example. By nature this rank is flexible, giving room for everyone to find what tasks they exceed in.

When not on duty warriors often design games and sparring for each other. These help keep cats active while also developing deep bonds between clanmates.

In order for an apprentice to be named a warrior, they must pass an Assessment. This task is tailored to an apprentice’s unique strengths and weaknesses, decided by their mentor.

Crafters

Non-combatants, crafters spend their days crafting various tools to help themselves and their clanmates. Each clan has a specific craft they are best known for. Thunderclan specializes in leathers, Riverclan in masonry, Shadowclan in nets/hunting tools, and Windclan in rudimentary fabrics. They say a skilled crafter’s only limit is their imagination.

Just like warriors, crafters can have their own preferences. Some cats prefer building dens and weaving foliage while others find leather-making much more enjoyable.

During every gathering, crafters will bring samples of their wares to trade. Each crafter is defensive of their work and so it is seen as an insult to take something for the proposed trade. Instead you must be willing to haggle, showing you truly believe a certain thing is worth fighting for. Though these battles are done with words in place of claws, they are no less fierce. Perhaps even moreso.

Apprentices

Young cats still learning their task. They begin training at six moons old and train for a minimum of eight moons after that. Younger apprentices begin their studies by learning about the territory and hunting techniques. Only once they have demonstrated adequate skill are they taught battle moves. An apprentice may not be sent into battle before nine moons of age.

No matter their age, apprentices are not considered full adults. It is not allowed for apprentices to gain mates or start a family, especially with warriors.

Monarchs

Cats nursing, expecting, or otherwise caring for kits. Traditionally called queens or monarchs, titles can vary from cat to cat based on preference. They spend their days caring for and raising the kits in their care. It is not uncommon for monarchs to suckle kits that aren’t theirs by blood, either through adoption or necessity. The wilds may be cruel but clan cats should strive not to be.

Monarchs often work alongside caretakers to ensure each kit grows up healthy and well-learned. The first thing a kit must learn before leaving the nursery is the Warrior Code. there is -usually- no official test, but it is always an important thing to know.

Kits

The next generation of warriors. They spend most of their time playing, sleeping, and pestering older cats as to when they’ll be made apprentices. As they get older they may be allowed to help with camp tasks. During this time the deputy keeps an eye on their personalities, which mentors would serve them best.

All kits are taught the basics of clan Code and history by caretakers. It is believed the sooner a cat is taught the Code, the more loyal and diligent they shall be.

Elders

After a long, hard life of service to their clan some cats may choose to retire to a comfy elder-hood. Their duties are officially over now. Elders may leave the camp and attempt hunting, but it is generally discouraged. They will also be assigned a warrior escort, just in case.

Occasionally, severe injuries may cause an early retirement. However, this will almost always be on the decision of the cat themself. Only the head medic can force a retirement in the most dire or life-threatening circumstances. Retirement should be an honor, never a punishment.

Well, I have already shared here some posts about Sakura and how flimsy she is for team seven and how distant she is from Naruto and Sasuke potential like this one.

My objective here isn't call her useless or something like that, because Kishi show us that Sakura had talent with medical ninjutsu and chakra control, but he has showed too that she hadn't any kind of weight in the battlefield, that she always needed someones help to do something and that at the end of her moments in the war when she finally got byakugou, she still a step back from Naruto and Sasuke. Kishi shows us that herself realizes the difference has grown even more and more...

And worst: that she didn't surpass Tsunade like everyone says she did.

And is simple...

The fact that she couldn't make any difference in the fight against Madara like Tsunade had... many will say: aah but madara was on another level and Sakura just wanted to create a distraction.

Okay, but the fact that he was on another level also shows such a difference between her and Tsunade.

Why? Because if it was Tsunade instead of Sakura, I believe she wouldn't be able to do anything against Madara either... And why do I say that?

As the main character and disciple of a Sannin it was expected that Sakura would exceed and surpass her master just like Sasuke and Naruto did, but Kishimoto didn't show us this as it should be... on the contrary, *he gave Tsunade's powers to Sakura, but he didn't create the character's originality* as he did for Sasuke and Naruto and at the end of the war he would also give to Kakashi too.

It's hard to know if Sakura could against Madara instead of Tsunade, but the point that draws attention in this specific chapter where she tries to attack Madara is that unlike Tsunade, Kishimoto didn't give Sakura any grandeur that would mark her presence and that it was clear from Madara's reactions.

Even though during his entire battle against the kages Madara just took easy with them, all the time he showed surprise and recognized Tsunade's powers and that didn't happen to Sakura precisely because he had already seen it....

So what I want to say is that Sakura couldn't achieve anything than Tsunade's abilities like the medical ninjutsu and the byakugou seal... But the skills, courage and autonomy on the battlefield, Sakura never showed on her own.

And seriously, for me this HERE... This is dignified. Tsunade supported the Kages, fought by they side in a great team work and finally, kicked some susanoo's ass and she even teased Madara.

Anyways. Anyways. As much as Kishimoto writes in those databooks that Sakura surpassed Tsunade (this may have happened in the blank period or just in terms of medical ninjutsu) even in Boruto Sakura doesn't seems to have a role that goes beyond her duties as a doctor.

Particularly I don't read boruto, but I follow a girl who reads and she posted that Ino is having more importance than the main character herself.

Something very interesting that I came to realize after reading this analysis is the difference between the other teams and team 07, because team 7, in fact, as a team, never existed... It's always about Naruto and Sasuke and that makes Sakura's image and development worse and worse because she's always been running after Sasuke and always depending on Naruto in some way... The most frustrating thing for me was when Team 7 finally got together in the war so we didn't get any action scenes from them together... but no, we got a cliché scene of the sannins invocations and then Sasuke and Naruto went to one side and Sakura went to another to heal the shinobi alliance. And in the last arc everything went downhill.

We can see it from that side after all... How ruined was Sakura's development as a character and as a kunouchi in regards to the importance of the Story created about Naruto and Sasuke so their relationship rather than Team Seven as a whole.

WELL.

I want to record here that I'm not in any way discrediting the character, she was crucial at certain points in the story, but what makes me sad/angry/revolted is the lack of inspiration and creativity with which Kishimoto treated the main character and although she passes a cool message that with effort and dedication anyone can become someone great, this originality in itself already belongs to rock lee since the classic. She had her moments, but I feel like other female characters would have served better as a main character and that saddens me.

The logistics of Aizen having to pretend to be Central 46. Did he pretend to their families also? Did they radio silence to their families, before the lock-down, did he go evry night home to everyone of the 46 house holds and pretend to be the dead family member? Did he embraced every child, kiss every wife? How long was he supposed to be dead? How long until the 4 noble clans demanded to see their family members/Central 46?

Speaking of which, the 4 noble houses seem to have a great amount of reiatsu, and at least some of them have skill, did they wanted Sosuke as king? Why did they do nothing. Imagine the Tsunayashiro zanpakuto in the hands of someone with more reiatsu like Yamamoto, or in Yachiru's hands, or it could give Ichigo his own KS.

What about the quincies? Why didn't the nobles really help? Why if they had so much potential, didn't Iuha Baha attached them to?

I feel like there's so many different ways to interpret Kyouka Suigetsu--because what even--and I love hearing about people's different theories on how it works!

Kyouka Suigetsu and the power of "Yes And"

Personally, I feel like Kyouka Suigetsu shares some functionality with hypnosis in our world, in the sense that Kyouka Suigetsu isn't acting alone. In general, brains are primed to make connections, seek patterns, make sense of the world as presented. I feel like using Kyouka Suigetsu successfully isn't about dumping a fully-formed scenario on its targets, but in inviting the target's brain to fill in the gaps. What is a more illusion than one developed in collaboration with you, yourself? Aizen doesn't need to provide every detail or orchestrate things to the letter. He sets his targets' senses on a path and their brains "yes and" it.

It's a powerful technique, but also by nature a collaborative one. I can imagine that part of Aizen's dissatisfaction would lie in being tied to the imaginative power of others. Even more so if he found his co-workers' imaginations limiting. Which lol, that's fair enough. But imagine feeling so far beyond those around you you could never be understood--but also having them so intrinsic to your abilities you cannot be without them, not really. You cannot be among them and you cannot exceed them. And then there's the Hougyoku, whose only posted limit is you.

Having Reiryoku vs. Training as a Shinigami

As far as the noble families and their non-involvement in Aizen's betrayal, and in the Wandenreich invasion--even if their bloodline offers them a degree of reiryoku, they're not soldiers (or imagine themselves to be). I think there's probably a big difference between someone who's born with a degree of reiryoku and its latent potential and someone who has specifically trained themselves to be able to activate and execute these powers--to say nothing of further developing that baseline level of power that can be accessed.

It's kind of like, if someone is born with genetic athletic ability, then they're starting in a "better" place than someone who isn't. But you don't become an Olympic athlete just because you have athletic potential. And if you have no innate athletic giftedness, you can still practice and become a talented athlete--usually, a better athlete than someone innately gifted but untrained. But all the training in the world doesn't necessarily mean you'll ever be an Olympian.

Coming from a family living in the Seireitei probably heightens the odds of you having potential as a shinigami, and being noble even more so. But just like there are powerhouses beating the odds in Rukongai, I feel like having real potential to be a successful shinigami (much less a Captain- or VC-class one) remains few and far between. Even within the Kuchiki, who have at least billed *themselves* as the most legit remaining noble family, Captain-class shinigami potential only comes once in a generation, or even less often. So the nobles who aren't in the Gotei probably can't do a lot against either Aizen or the Wandenreich, except die.

Did they even notice...?

Setting aside power and focusing on awareness, I kind of feel like noble families know as little about day to day of the Gotei and Aizen's whole deal as we do about what they do all day, haha.

The Wandenreich invasion is obviously a little harder to ignore, lol. But if I have learned anything about the world during my time on this planet, I wouldn't overestimate how much awareness and information people have even in situations in which they appear to be immediately embedded... 🥴

Regards, Loki - Chapter 31

Master List

It was now the week before Louisa was due to report back into work after her sabbatical. Her nerves were fried, and sleep became harder and harder to find. The only thing she found that helped was baking.

This is when Brad and Chad coordinated with Cora to execute their plan. The plan was to have Louisa come to their shop to relax, eat, and chat before extending their offer. Firstly, they wanted to help relax her nerves with a low-key get together.

So around 8 PM that night, after closing, the 4 of them sat around a table, eating, chatting, and laughing. Cora was happy to see her friend relaxing a bit, and Louisa was thankful for her small group of friends.

It was at this moment that Chad decided to broach the subject. He took a sip of his drink, cleared his throat, and then spoke. “These treats you brought are incredible. I don’t know how you do it!”

Brad agreed. “You really should think about selling these. You’d make a shit-ton of money. In fact…..” He looked to Chad who finished his sentence. “We were wondering if you might be interested in coming to work for us?”

Brad clarified. “As a baker that is. We get several requests for treats. And we also have a small confession to make.”

“We may have been selling some of the goodies you give us as testers, and every single person who’s tried them asks for more either while they’re there, when they come back, or both. You’ve already got quite the following.”

Louisa was stunned. A baker? For her favorite coffee shop? No, that’s something she could do and was afraid it wouldn’t be sustainable.

Cora could tell what she was thinking. “Before you start falling into that black hole in your brain, I’ve seen this myself. We’re not messing with you. There’s been an incredible demand! You really should think about this. On top of that, you wouldn’t have to go back to that job you hate so much.”

“But don’t answer now. We want you to think about it.” Cora nodded in agreement with Brad. “This is a venture we’re all excited about, if you say yes. If you say no, we’ll be very upset with you.”

“But only for a little while,” Chad said with a smirk, causing everyone to laugh.

She looked around at her friends and smiled. “You guys are amazing. I promise I’ll think about it.” While it brought on a new type of fear, the anxiety about going back to work was slowly ebbing away.

They all enjoyed the rest of the night, not bringing it up again in fear of making her feel pushed into giving an answer, especially when they wanted her to say yes.

When she got back to her apartment that night, the offer was running around in her mind, refusing to settle down.

Sigyn: I got an interesting offer tonight.

Loki: Oh? What would that be?

Sigyn: My friends, the guys who own the coffee shop, asked about hiring me as their baker.

Loki: I think that’s a phenomenal idea! What you’ve given me, at least so far, has been just delectable. I even brought some of it to work and gave a bit to my secretary and also my friend who runs HR. They keep asking me where to get more.

Sigyn: You’ve got to be joking.

Loki: I assure you I am not. This would be an amazing venture for you.

Sigyn: I don’t know. It doesn’t really feel like it would be financially stable.

Loki: Darling, you underestimate yourself and your skills. Yes, there is risk involved entering this type of field, but I truly believe you will exceed even your own expectations.

Sigyn: You think so?

Loki: I know so. There’s so many things you could do with that. I’d bet my company that you’d have people flocking to you just to do bulk orders, if not directly cater a plethora of events.

Sigyn: You really have that much faith in me?

Loki: I really do. Even if you decide not to right now, you could try doing it part time to see how you like it.

Sigyn: My fears tell me I’ll be a complete failure.

Loki: Your fears are a complete load of bollocks.

Sigyn: Hah, Frigga says the same.

Loki: Frigga knows you best. You should listen to her.

Lou took a deep breath. As much as her fears were screaming at her, part of her was excited just thinking about it.

Sigyn: I can’t say I’m not at least a bit intrigued at the idea.

Loki: You should give it some serious thought, and you can reach out to me if you need someone to talk over it further with.

Sigyn: I really appreciate that.

Loki: Anytime

Sigyn: How are you? Any word from the crazy ex?

Loki: Funny you should ask.

Sigyn: Uh oh

Loki: When she got the restraining order, she tried to file counter-charges against me with abuse and stalking which put everything on hold, but the police knew she was lying. None of the timeline she gave them matched up with anything from her previous statements, and I agreed to give them full access to my phone history. I was also able to provide them proof and alibis for these so-called events. Now, thankfully, the restraining order has been approved and put in place.

Sigyn: You’ve got to be kidding me!

Loki: I wish I was.

Sigyn: If I knew who she was, I’d kick her ass myself.

James laughed at her response, but it touched him deeply that she’d want to defend his honor.

Loki: I appreciate the sentiment.

Loki: On a side note, I need to get to the tailor’s shop. They’re helping me with the suit for the ball.

Sigyn: I haven’t even started checking dress shops. Cora sent me a few dress ideas, but she’s coming over tomorrow to help me, probably take me to a few shops.

LokI: Well, whatever you choose, I’m sure you'll look amazing.

Talking to Loki helped calm her nerves, at least somewhat, but she felt awful about his psychotic ex.
