Ekko:
Well, it happened in a bad argument
You had a fight because he didn't seem to understand that he should take care of himself and that you were worried about him.
"Don't you understand?" he was almost shouting "I am the leader of the Firelights! I can't play it safe while my allies risk their lives and die in battle! I don't have time for this!"
"I'm just worried about you, Ekko. If you would just be a little more carefu-" "If you wouldn't be so childish, we wouldn't be arguing right now!" "You know that's not true!"
“oh fuck off! You just don't want me to go because you don't want me to be out with the others!”
"What are you talking about! I don't care about that. I just don't want you to die!" Now you were desperately screaming with thick tears running down your cheek and leaving red streaks on your face
He wouldn't listen to you. He just pushed you away and didn't seem to care about your feelings. But you did care about him. Just the thought that he would die someday on a mission turned your stomach in an unpleasant way.
your suppressed sobs filled the now silent room
only now he seemed to notice your tears- his eyes widened slightly
"Shit, Firefly I-I'm sorry. I- I didn't mean to make you cry. Shit. Forgive me.
The boy stuttered in panic as he tried to gently wipe your tears from your face.
"I'm sorry, I really am." he whispered as he spread little kisses all over your face. little 'I love you's' after each kiss
you scrunched your nose and mumbled "I just don't want you to get hurt. I know what you do is important, but every time you leave, I'm afraid you won't come back. That's scares me.
“’m sorry, Firefly.” he said after he kissed you on the nose.
"I try to be more careful. It's just that as a leader, I can't play it safe. Everyone relies on me."
"I know," you sighed as you pressed your face into his chest.
"Come on I'll make it up to you." he said with a smile as he picked you up and threw you on the bed.
you shrieked when he did that. "Here comes the tickle monster! Gaaahhh!!!"
A few hours later you two were lying in bed. Legs tangled together. Your head was on his chest.
"Babe?" asked Ekko since you two hadn't talked in a while. "Mmm, Noodle Doodle?" he chuckled.
Slowly he turned to you till you were facing each other. His breath over your lips.
A quick kiss- "I love you, Y/n" "Mhm, I love me too." he pinched your side. "Ouch, I'm kidding! I love you too big baby."
Silco:
He's a busy man, everybody knows that.
so it was clear that he missed dates or couldn't spend as much time with you as he did sitting at his desk writing papers
but sometimes it looked like he liked the paperwork more than he liked you
And when he missed your anniversary, something inside you burst. And before you knew it, razor-sharp words flew between the two of you.
"I'm just saying you should spend a little more time with me! Hell, you even missed our anniversary!"
"It's just a day like any other! Don't be so resentful. I just have to work a lot not like you! Why do you think I am where I am right now!"
"I don't want you to give up all your work! I just want maybe one hour with my boyfriend! It would be enough if you would sleep in my room, but hell you always fall asleep on your desk!" you said with a raised voice.
it was too much for you. Couldn't he understand? Couldn't he sacrifice even a few minutes for you, was that too much to ask? angry tears pooling in your eyes
he straightened up, trying to strengthen his dominance.
"Fine!" you snorted, walking past him. If he didn't want your company, you wouldn't bother him. Silco sighed, "Y/n-" too late, because you slammed the door to his office and ran into your room.
Hours passed. Silco was not looking for you. It was better that way. You looked terrible. Red eyes, a runny nose, tousled hair and a damn headache.
At some point Sevika came to look for you.
"you look like shit." "Mhm" "Ok what happened?" "Nothing." "I'll talk to him."
she went to him and told him no matter what kind of fight you had, you should end it and that it bothers everyone
silco just sighed and stroked his hair back.
Sevika was right, he knew that. He himself noticed how his thoughts drifted to you, his concentration dwindled.
He let himself sink back into his chair. It did not help. He has to talk to you.
You were lying under your thick blanket when a firm knock broke the silence
The door was opened and Silco entered the darkness of your room
"Y/n-" "What do you want?" you said somewhat briskly with a hoarse voice from all the crying.
Your back turned to him
He sat down on your bed, his weight made the mattress dip a bit
"Love, look at me” you turned around
His breath caught a little when he saw your red eyes. Had it really affected you that much? When he thought about it, he had really acted a bit coldly.
He exhaled a deep puff of air and put his cold hand on your puffy face
"I'm sorry darling. I didn't pay attention to your feelings and reacted coldly. That was childish of me. I know how much that means to you. and i hope i can make it up to you for the missed anniversary”
"Even if it's just a day like any other?" you said with a raised brow
“I'm sorry I said that, I didn't mean it" he whispered and pressed a kiss on your forehead
"Mhmmmmm you have to make it up to me with 100- no 1000 kisses. And I want cuddles." you command in a childish demanor
“Everything you want darling.”

Typically fears developed in childhood decrease in intensity or vanish completely by the time adulthood rolls around, but strangely enough, you never did overcome your fear of heights. Ironic, seeing how your name was labeled under the Firelight alias, the group that fought from their signature hoverboards.
It's not reassuring to know that the brush with death was a dance you performed every time the device hummed awake, but among other things, it was just something to get over. You had to make room for more significant matters, not your childish anxieties.
Still, it kept you up at night.
It painted hollow shadows below your eyes, and cursed your stomach in an everlasting nausea. The muscles in your body grew weaker from lack of nutrition, and it was only a matter of time before it really began to show.
Despite the physical damage to your body, the guilt was the worst of it. There was no time to be afraid. No time for any setbacks or distractions. Focus must be on the future, the future the Firelights worked so hard for. The very reason for the groups' existence.
Every mission was a step towards freedom, and that alone was a purpose worth dying for. But for some, mind-boggling reason, you just couldn't accept that fate.. And you despised yourself for it.
First, it was denial. Then it was anger, and now, you're not too sure what to call this expression. Despair? Fatigue? What is in this reflection you're staring at right now, that brings your state of mind closer to the cliff? Did you even recognize yourself? Was this person on the other side of the glass really you?
Stumbling backwards onto your mattress, you tightly gripped the fabric of your pants as your gaze fell to the floorboards. Departure was in ten minutes. The clock was ticking fast. The familiar clench in your chest rose up from the depths, causing your lungs to sharply inhale.
1...2...3...1...2...3..
The skin between your brows pulled together. It's not working.
1...2...-
"Hey. Reminder, we move out in five."
His voice passing by your door interrupted the pattern.
The glance he spared you was brief, but the hunch in your shoulders drove out a double take. The tip of his boot hit the doorframe to halt his step. Hand coming to rest on the wood, Ekko raised a brow at your silence.
"..You okay?"
Your foot began to bounce, hands coming together to interlock.
"Mhm. Yeah."
Ekko frowned as he entered the room. "You sure about that?"
You slapped the palms of your hands to your knees as you rose, a wavering sigh flying out your chapped lips. "Yes. It's just.." Your arms waved around in a gesture. "I don't know...jitters."
The boy chuckled, quirking his brow higher up his forehead. "Still get those, huh? Though I can't say anything, I get them, too."
You frowned this time. "You still get nervous?"
Even though his announcement marked the limited minutes before take off, Ekko leisurely replaced your spot on the mattress and exhaled, eyelids closing. "Before every mission. Before I get out of bed. Before I do...anything."
Suddenly, the suffocating weight inside your chest lifted, just by the slightest amount. Stepping forward, you sat down beside him, staring at the same wooden planks as before. Ekko turned to you, eyes studying the muscles of your expression.
He wasn't a stranger to the signs. The weariness in your cheeks and eye circles, as well as the dead skin on your lips due to biting. You were more than nervous right now. He clapped a hand to your shoulder.
"We're gonna be okay."
The smoothness in his tone wrapped you up in an embrace and squeezed until you couldn't breathe. The skin of your neck tensed as you swallowed, an irritating wetness pooling in your vision. The hand on your shoulder moved to wrap around you entirely, bringing your body to lean against his.
Your cheek lolled down to meet the cut off of his sleeve, the fabric catching the tear that escaped you. His hand rubbed your right arm a couple times as you sniffled.
"We got this, alright? You're strong. I know you can handle this. And if anything goes south, you get out of there."
You nodded against him, swiping away the dampness from your cheeks.
"You don't have to go through this alone, alright? I'm here, [First]. You can talk to me."
He received another nod from you. When he didn't hear any other vocal response, he gently shook you, earning a hushed laugh.
"Okay?" "Okaay."
You met his lingering stare with a grin, eyes no longer damp. "Thank you."
Patting you on the arm, he rose up to his feet, ultimately bringing you with him. "Don't thank me. It's what we do. We look after each other."
His hand slid off your form and grabbed both of yours, giving you a gentle squeeze.
"..You ready?"
Ridding the remains of your nerves with another slow breath, you made eye contact with a bit more confidence.
"Yes."
And you were.

『𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟮. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆』
The next day, Aj woke up early to help Vander set up and open up the bar.
"So how's the girls?" Vander asked while they raised the small barrier in front of the store.
"Their ok so far; we actually got to know each other a little better yesterday, and they loved my cupcakes." Vander gave the little boy a smile and ruffled his hair.
"You're a good kid. Aj, don't change for anyone, ok?" Aj was slightly confused but nodded either way.
He decided to go into the kitchen and make some breakfast for them. He checked through the cupboards and frowned when he couldn't find much, which meant they had to go out for supplies, something that he knew his mother would disagree with.
His demeanor instantly flipped over when he found some pancake mix. He happily cheered on the inside and grabbed the mix.
He made sure to prepare enough pancakes for everyone, but it did cost him the whole mix. He made a mental note to ask Vander to go out for some more.
He grabbed a big tray and placed the plates of pancakes on them before leaving the kitchen just in time to see his mom walk into the bar with some of her crew.
"Hey, mom, want some pancakes?" He asked, holding the tray up to her.
Even though Sevika never really ate breakfast, she always ate what her son made, usually to rate it for him, so she took a plate, he handed her a plastic fork, and she took a piece of the pancakes before taking a bite.
She hummed at the flavors and nodded her head in acknowledgement. "It's really good. Keep up the work, chump." She patted his head and walked off.
"You guys want any? I made a lot," he gestured to the crew. One of the guys shrugged his shoulders and said, "Why not?" He took a plate and a plastic fork.
"Thanks, little man," he said. A few more people took some before they followed Sevika to a table to play cards.
"Hey Vander You should eat something." Vander gave the boy a small smirk and waved him off. "It's alright, mate; I'll be fine. You should go check on the girls." Aj frowned a little, but decided to do so.
He made it downstairs and saw that the girls were already awake. "Hey Vi, hey Powder, I hope you guys are hungry because I made some pancakes." He gave the girls a plate each and a plastic fork.
"Thanks, Aj," Powder said, giving him a smile.
"You're welcome, Powder." He grabbed some for himself and sat on a chair in front of them, and the three kids conversed with each other while they ate.
"Did you all sleep well?" He asked, and they nodded.
"Yeah, we were pretty tired from yesterday," Vi commented, and Aj nodded.
"Yeah, it was a very rough day, but if you want, you guys can go upstairs to talk with Vander. He's been wanting to talk to you guys, but he wanted you guys to get some rest."
"Oh, ok, I'll be sure to talk to him," Vi said.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
Aj grunted as he laid punch after punch on the punching machine. He dodged another attack the machine threw at him and performed a flying kick on it, making it fumble a little bit, but the attacks just kept coming, growing faster and faster each time.
His long black hair was tied up into a high ponytail with some loose strands, and sweat was cascading down his shirtless body due to the hours of work he was doing.
Aj was able to hold for 10 more minutes before the machine went off, signaling for more coins to be placed inside. He looked at the scoreboard and smiled proudly, knowing that he had beat his old score.
He heard someone applauding from behind him, and he turned to see Vi walking up to him while clapping her hands.
"That was really cool," she complimented.
"Thanks, it's my daily workout; my mom wants me to train so I don't become some scrawny, scaredy cat," he chuckled.
Vi looked down and blushed, just noticing that he didn't have any shirts showing his visible abs. Her face turned red, and she didn't pay attention to her breathing. The next thing she knew, her spit went down the wrong pipe, and she started coughing uncontrollably.
"Woah, hey, are you okay?" Aj was quick to run to her side and pat her back.
"Yeah, I'm fine, sorry," she stuttered.
"You were checking me out, weren't you?" He teased, wiggling his eyebrows.
Vi scoffed and punched his shoulder. "No!" She grumbled.
"Mhm, it's okay. Lots of girls in Zaun have a crush on me. I'm a bit of a heartthrob," he hummed, the smirk still visible on his face.
"Well, I'm not one of them, and can you wipe that dumb smirk off your face?" Aj just laughed and said, "Ok, ok, my bad bubblegum.".
Vi rolled her eyes at the nickname: "Again, it's Vi, not Bubblegum.".
"Well, your hair is pink like bubblegum, so it kind of fits unless you want me to call you pinky instead." He gave her a wink, but she just kept a blank face.
"Bubblegum it is," he chuckled, walking to a small area, and Vi followed him.
"Do you think you could teach me?" She asked nervously, and he turned to her and gave her a smile. "Sure! I wouldn't mind a training buddy, but can I ask where this is coming from? Nobody usually asks to learn defense unless they have a reason or a mission set." Vi's eyes widened; he basically read her like a book.
"And if you're wondering how I knew, I'm pretty good at guessing what people are thinking or what they're going to say." Aj fixed his boxing gloves and gestured Vi over.
He grabbed some pink boxing gloves and handed them to her. "You just have pink boxing gloves lying around?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, call me crazy, but I keep them because I always had the feeling I was going to meet someone who was willing to train with me," he chuckled nervously while scratching the back of his head.
"You seem to know a lot about the future," Vi commented while putting on the gloves.
"Guess you could say it's a gift," he replied.
"Now when defending yourself, your fists should be guarding your face at all times because 95 percent of the time your opponent is aiming for your face." Aj put his fists in front of his face in a defense motion, and Vi copied his action.
"Now we're going to try an upper cut. Make sure your elbow is bent at 90 degrees and you move your right foot forward just a little, not too much, or else your opponent will know what you're doing and pick up on your move," he explained before doing an upper cut nice and slow.
Vi followed his lead, doing an uppercut perfectly. "Exactly, just like that, you're a natural!" Aj said, and Vi smiled.
After 20 minutes of practicing, Vi decided to try out her new-found moves by sparring.
"Are you sure you want to?" Aj asked, and Vi nodded.
"Yeah, I'm ready," she said.
"Alright." They both got in defense motion, eyeing each other for what felt like forever, waiting for the other to make the first move.
Vi decided to go first and lunged at Aj with an incredible speed that almost caught him off guard, but he was able to dodge the punch she threw at him. She was quick to turn around and dodge Aj's strike with her arm, using her right leg to kick him back.
He stumbled a little but still stayed on his feet. He lunged, hooked his arm under Vi's forearm, and flipped her over his shoulder. She grunted as she hit the ground but quickly got on her feet, doing a spin kick that Aj blocked.
Their moves got faster with each one of them taking a hit or being able to dodge the others attacks. Vi flipped over Aj's shoulder and kicked the back of his legs, forcing him on his knees and pinning him to the floor.
"Smooth move, bubblegum," he grunted. Vi smirked. "Thanks," she cockily replied.
"But you're forgetting one thing," he said. Vi released her grip on him and shrugged her shoulders.
"What?-" She yelled when he wrapped his legs around her waist and flipped them over, pinning her hands above her head. She groaned when the back of her head hit the mat.
"Always keep your guard up," he responded.
"Ok, you got me on that one," they both laughed, but it quietly died down when they looked into each other's eyes, grey connecting with Hazel.
They both felt their hearts beat faster, and Vi gave him a small smile. If his skin was lighter, he most definitely would be blushing.
He quickly cleared his throat and got off of Vi, extending his hand to help her up, which she accepted. "Uh, thank you for teaching me." Aj gave her a smile.
"Of course, and if you ever want to practice with someone you know who to call," he bumped her shoulder a little and walked off, grabbing his shirt and throwing it over his head, unaware of the girl watching him with a flushed face.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤
"I see you're getting along with those girls." Sevika commented that she and Aj were walking around Zaun searching for some more things.
"Yeah, they're pretty cool, especially Vi," Aj said, trying not to smile at the mention of the older sister.
"So that's her name, huh?"
Aj saw the small smirk on her face, and he groaned, "Yes, mom, that's her name, and little one, her name is Powder." Sevika snorted.
"Who the hell names their kid after something you put on babies?" she chuckled.
"Well, you could ask their parents, who mind that you aren't alive anymore." Sevika rolled her eyes at her son's smart comment.
"You know what I mean, boy," she grumbled while Aj laughed.
They walked past the famous brothel, where all the drunk men went to get some pleasure away from their wives and families. I never understood why people would vow to stay with someone only to betray their trust.
They walked past a group of girls his age, and to no surprise, they gushed over the boy, throwing him flirty winks and waves. He just rolled his eyes and continued talking with his mom.
"Hey mom I know this might be sensitive, but I want to know about my dad." Sevika instantly stopped in her tracks, and Aj regretted what he just asked.
"Nevermind, it's ok if..."
"No, no, you're old enough to know." Sevika sighed and sat down on a bench, and Aj sat down next to her.
"Before I started to work for Vander, I used to go to the brothel all the time. Well, I still do, but back then it was different, and that's where I met your father. He was a scrawny little fucker, and he was always my waiter, and he was the only one not scared to approach me," she explained with a chuckle.
"One day he struck up a conversation with me and asked me out. I had to make sure he wasn't fucking with me, which he wasn't, and I reluctantly agreed, thinking it was going to go nowhere, but surprisingly, it did. A few dates later, and some years later, I found out I was pregnant with you. He was excited and waiting every day for when you were to be born." She sighed and crossed her arms.
"But one day, enforcers flooded Zaun and shot down everyone. I was around five months pregnant with you, and we were hiding from enforcers, but they found us, and your father chose to sacrifice himself so that I could get away. As I was escaping, I looked back, and the last thing I saw was him smiling at me and those enforcer assholes putting a bullet in the back of his head.".
Aj didn't even notice a couple of tears running down his mother's face, but when he did, he instantly took her hand and linked their fingers together.
"You and him were so much alike. You loved getting into trouble but had the kindest and gentlest heart. That's why I'm so hard on you to take lessons because I don't want you to end up like your father. I want you to fight for the ones you love until the end." Sevika pulled out a small picture from her pocket and handed it to him.
Aj opened it and saw a man with chocolate skin, calm hazel eyes, and a beautiful smile. He had on an apron and seemed to be making something. He was looking at the camera and shooting it a wink while holding the spoon up.
"So this is him?" Aj asked, and Sevika nodded.
"What's his name?"
"Darius Reynolds," she answered.
"So is my last name Reynolds?" Sevika just shook her head.
"I really never got married, but technically you could legally take that last name because that is your father." Aj looked at the picture of his dad; he looked just like him but with more mature features.
"He loved to cook and make me meals anytime I craved anything."
"So that's where I got my cooking skills from." At this point, both pairs were in tears. Aj launched into his mother's arms and hugged her tight. She held him back, stroking his head while he cried in her arms, sending glares to anyone who looked their way.
This was one of the many times they had a mother-son moment, and to Aj, it felt special.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
When they made it back to The Last Drop with the supplies, they managed to get Aj to see Vander Vi and Powder talking with two boys. One was skinny with messy brown hair and dark brown eyes, and the other was on the chubby side but still built. He had curly brown hair and goggles that shaded his eyes.
"Aj, you're back!" Powder ran to him and hugged his leg. He was kind of shocked, but he hugged her back. "Hey Powder, Vi." The pink-haired girl gave him a small wave.
Ever since their little moment a while ago, they have kind of been slightly awkward around each other.
"Aj, come; I want you to meet some people. This is Mylo, and this is Claggor." He gestured to the two boys. Aj gave them a smile and stuck his hand out to Claggor, who accepted it with a matching smile.
"Nice to meet you," he said, shaking hands with Mylo, who gave him a smirk.
"So you're the heartthrob, Aj, all the girls swoon over, huh?" Aj snickered and shrugged his shoulders. "I guess so," he replied.
"Too bad your place is going to get taken when I flash these babies." Mylo flexed his not-so-muscled muscles and kissed them. Aj tried to desperately hold his laughter in, but Vi beat him to it when she burst out laughing.
"More like sticks." At that point, everyone lost it and started laughing at Mylo, who turned red in embarrassment.
"Whatever," he mumbled, crossing his arms.
"Anyways, Aj, why don't you bring them downstairs and help them around?" Aj nodded, not minding some more male company that was actually around his age.
"Sure, Vander, come on guys, follow me," he said, leading them downstairs and opening the door to the small little lounge.
He pointed down a small, narrow entrance. "There are some small rooms you guys can stay in; someone might have to use a sleeping bag until Vander gets another bed." Both boys looked at each other before rushing into the room.
He turned and looked at Vi. "Hey Vi, can I talk to you?" The pink-haired girl stammered a little, and Powder had to help her with her speaking.
"Yes, you can," Powder chirped, pushing her sister towards the tall teenager.
Vi shot her sister a glare, but she was already skipping away.
"Uhh, I wanted to apologize earlier if I made you uncomfortable," he said.
"No, it's ok; it was just a really good move, and it caught me off guard. You were right; I can't let my guard down. Hopefully this won't stop us from training together." Aj was quick to shake his head.
"Of course not. I just want to make sure we're cool." Vi nodded. "We are," she replied.
He gave her a smile that made her heart melt, but it was ruined by a crash coming from the room where Mylo and Claggor were. They rushed inside and saw Mylo and Claggor basically wrestling for the bed.
"Uhh, are you guys good?" They quickly looked up and nodded. "Yes, everything is fine. Claggor, you piece of shit!" Claggor took Mylo's distraction as a chance to take the bed.
"Don't hate the player; hate the game," he cockily replied.
"You little-" Aj grabbed Mylo by the back of his shirt, lifted him up with one hand like it was nothing, and threw him onto the bed with Claggor.
"You both get the bed problem solved," he said, and Vi followed after him.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
It was around 12 in the morning. Aj helped Vander close the bar down and said goodbye to his mom before he headed downstairs to where all the teens were sleeping.
He was going to head into his room, but when he heard small sniffles, he turned and followed the sound, only to see Powder crouched in a small corner with her knees to her chest.
She looked up at him with her baby eyes, tears running down her cheeks. Aj's face immediately softened, and he leaned down to her height.
"What's wrong, Powder?" She sniffled and wiped her nose.
"I miss my mom and dad," she whimpered. Aj opened his arms, and Powder cuddled into them. He picked her up and led them to the couch, where he sat down and just stroked her hair.
He rocked them back and forth and whispered reassuring words into her ear until she fell asleep, and he eventually did as well.
Vi snuck back into the shoot through the backdoor, making sure to be quiet. She was going to pass through the lounge but stopped when she saw Aj and Powder. Her lips curled up into a soft smile.
She grabbed a blanket and covered them with it, kissing Powder on the forehead before walking off into their shared room.

The fic is called "As We Fall", and I never specified how far we were falling or for how long.

Series summary: Working for Jungkook isn’t the same as working for Hoseok. For starters, Jungkook doesn’t smile, he doesn’t appreciate you, and he gives you too much work. It doesn’t help that he’s incredibly handsome and has women at his beck and call. But as the tension grows, it becomes impossible to resist him. You've dedicated yourself to your job for 8 years so when you finally decide to put yourself first, he asks you to reconsider. And while you know that leaving is difficult, you learn that when it comes to Jungkook, staying is always so much harder.
Inspiration: Stay by Mikky Ekko
A/N: Hiii I am BAAACK! 🫡 This story is finally seeing the light of day after 3 years. I feel a little rusty, especially this being my first new JK series in 1.5 years! But it's also been a bit rough getting back into writing (and in Tumblr) after so long and after the year that was, so there won't be a schedule for chapter releases and I'll probably be a lot slower than usual. I wasn't sure if I was gonna go back to writing but I realized that I've missed interacting with you guys and screaming about stories so I do hope you give this some love. Fair warning that it's a really slow burn and some scenes are reminiscent of k-dramas. There are also sensitive and triggering topics so please proceed with caution!
And lastly, my biggest love and deepest gratitude to @wonwoonlight who's been the sweetest and loveliest person to talk to about everything, including this story. 🫶🏼 I give her credit for her amazing photos of Seoul (check moodboard) and for being the playlist manager. Please send her love as well!💕

Hello! Can I request a jinx, Ekko, vi and Caitlyn separate of a readers ex gf or bf coming around and trying to get back with them and how they react to it? Thank you!
Oof, an ex can really mess things up, or at least make shit awkward even at the best of times.
Pairing: Jinx, Vi, Ekko, Caitlyn x Reader
Tags: fluff, slight angst, established relationship, hurt/comfort, kissing, jealousy, feelings of insecurity, PDA, showing off
A/N: Trying to write some more Arcane content cause I've been stuck creatively with it for a while ugh.
Tumblr media
Jinx wouldn't take it very well, someone trying to come between you two now that your relationship is just getting started. She doesn't want to think that you'd leave her but she believed that before about others too.
Noticing that you have no intention of that but that its your ex who is being the pushy one here she goes into her scary, protective mode. She doesn't kill your ex, not right now at least, but she'd not above some very well illustrated threats and maybe a few little bombs thrown in their direction.
"Don't let me see ya talkin' ta sugar here ever again. Ya had your chance and you blew it. They're with me now, ain't no way I'm letting ya have them now that you've come crawling back. Come on sugar, I'm taking ya somewhere more fun, where this loser won't disturb us."
Tumblr media
Vi isn't afraid to break a few bones for you, or be the cause of broken bones for you. Your ex has nothing on her, everyone knows that. But... call her a little evil, she has something better in mind then just walking up and decking your ex in the face.
Kissing you right in plain view. That hurts more then any punch she could throw, letting your ex know how good you're having it with her. Looking over there before spinning you around and pulling you into her lap is all part of her showing off, well that and flexing as she spins you around and drags you past your ex, flipping them the bird while you have that goofy, happy smile on your face.
"That's your ex huh sweet stuff? Man, did your taste improve when you met me. Raised your standards sky high I bet. They were good to you right? Need me to go back in there and teach them a few lessons? Oh, well... I'm actually a little disappointed. I always wanted to be the cool girlfriend who kicks the ex's butt."
Tumblr media
Ekko is protective over you, like he is of everyone from the Firelights. Of course he knew one of the Firelights was your ex so there was no getting away from the awkwardness of the situation even if he tried to.
He starts walking around holding hands, kissing your cheek and whispering in your ear, a sort of passive aggressive show of your relationship to everyone else. He won't be hostile to his teammates but he needs to let your ex know that he no intention of just letting them walk into your relationship.
"They still following you around Firefly? I know its sort of inevitable, just wanna make sure you're doin' okay. Sweet that you think I'm being cute but I'm actually trying to be intimidating here. Not working is it? Should I bring out the mask? No cause you can't kiss me when I have it on? Not funny."
Tumblr media
Caitlyn is more used to seeing her exes and hiding away. She doesn't have many but they're usually somewhere at her parents parties. Getting to play the jealous, overprotective girlfriend is new for her. Doesn't need to try very hard, her sharp looks do wonders.
Or horrors in the case of your ex. She keeps a protective hand on the small of your back for the rest of the night and makes sure to cast one last glance at your ex, smirking at them, looking very smug when you leaned to kiss her cheek.
"We should get going now darling, there's only so much angry staring I can do when you look so ravishing at my side. Do you think I sent the message loud and clear? I suppose I could have done more but... well I think I caused enough scenes at events in the past. Thank you for that kiss, I think that was the final nail on the coffin for them."

Arcane Fanfic Scenarios
Tumblr media
Fic scenarios that will probs never get written but are fun to imagine:
Bobby Pins and Angel Wings: Five times Jinx and Ekko nearly kissed - and the one time they did. Bittersweet snippets of childhood games and cozy rooftop chats, told in flashback form. All interwoven with Jinx and Ekko going all-out during a shoot-out in the present day.
Category: Angst, Fluff, Violence.
Ships: Jinx x Ekko
Some Like it Hot: Crack oneshot. Silco makes a guest appearance on Hot Ones and dishes out the complexities of revolution and the struggles of running the drug trade and being a single father - all while absolutely devouring the ghost peppers.
Y'all. This is Zaun. You expect them not to have spicy food?
Ends with Sean Evans going utterly non-verbal after trying one of Zaun's own homebrewed concoctions... while Silco chugs a glass of yogurt and smiles slyly for the cameras.
And then gets the hiccups<3
Category: Crack, Humor, Politics.
Ships: Zaun x Spicy cuisine.
Arcane Meets Isekai: Character-x-Reader themed Choose Your Own Adventure where reader is flung into the chaotic and magical world of Runeterra, and ends up simultaneously stealing the hearts of a shyly brilliant scientist (Viktor) and a ruthless Undercity revolutionary (Silco). Shenanigans ensue. Multiple endings and wild scenarios. Heimerdinger's poro was hurt in the making of this story - and will be hurt again.
Category: Angst, Fluff, Crack, Smut.
Ships: Primarily Viktor x Reader and Silco x Reader. But there can be so much more.
Empires Rise and Fall: Silco and Mel and up brokering a marriage pact to keep their cities united. It's an unexpected match made in Heaven - with a dash of Hell. Also a warlord mother-in-law who refuses to keep her nose out of the marital chamber. And a step-daughter creeping like a golem in the rafters...
Drabbles of the angsty, fluffy, smutty and political variety. Plus a honeymoon in Noxus. Complete with near abductions and survived assassination attempts.
"Mawwiage. That bwessed awwangement. That dweam within a dweam..."
Category: Angst, Smut, Fluff.
Ships: Silco x Mel, Silco x Power, Mel x Politics.
Through a Glass Darkly: Extremely dark fic. Silco's life post-drowning. Details everything from his recovery, to his rise as a kingpin-on-the-make, to the development of Shimmer, to his alliance with Singed, and his plans for payback. All while he watches Vander from afar with his new family, and plots to destroy both.
Also features plenty of near run-ins with baby Powder - and a sense of fated inevitability.
The shark was always lying in wait.
Unbeknownst to him, so was fatherhood.
Category: Angst, Gore.
Ships: Silco x Vander
Snakes and Ladders: A retelling of Forward but Never Forget/XOXO from Mel's PoV. Plenty of MelJay cuteness, flashbacks of her life as a Noxian heiress, the grim legacy of Ambessa's lessons, her childhood games with Kino, and a darkly decadent slice of Mel × Silco, as her elusive arch-ally lures her deeper and deeper into the labyrinth of snakes and ladders that is Zaun...
Category: Angst, Smut, Fluff.
Ships: Mel x Jayce, Mel x Silco.
Redux: Multichapter monstrosity. A time travel AU where Jinx, twenty seven years old, is embroiled in an ongoing battle with Piltover - and with her sister Vi. Tired, disillusioned, and with only her ghosts for company, she reminisces bittersweetly about her girlhood days with Silco. Then she breaks into Ekko's workshop and steals his infamous watch, ready to tamper with it and go back all the way to the beginning, before the Day of Ash.
This time she'll make sure they all live: her parents, Vander, Vi, Silco, Ekko, Benzo, Mylo and Claggor.
Safe together.
Long story short: she miscalculates and ends up at the midway point before Vander drowns Silco in the Pilt. Now Jinx has to keep her wits and hide her secrets, as she struggles to survive in a much deadlier and more volatile Zaun. All while she ingratiates herself into their revolutionary circle, and attempts to heal the rift between its two leaders, before it can widen further.
Easier said than done when both men begin taking an interest in Jinx for their own mercenary agenda. And by the end, will slit each others' throats to see said agenda fulfilled.
Dammit.
Where is that Boy Savior when you need him?
Written as a darkly comical fic from Jinx's POV. Back-to-the-Future flavored adventures. Full of booms, oopsie-loopsies, and political commentary.
All our girl wants is to undo the jinx before it jinxes everyone. Instead, she ends up getting baby Powder quite literally 'unalived,' causing heaps of destruction, and accidentally becoming a mentor figure to young Vi. Meanwhile, as Silco's peer rather than his beloved daughter, she can't help but be confronted with glaring flaws in her pedestalized Papa's ideology. All while young Silco, convinced she's either a spy in their midst, or his very own Lady of the Lake sent to illuminate the rightness of Zaun's path, finds his extremist tendencies widening by a mile. Much like Vander's violent streak and his determination to nip Silco's plans in the bud...
A fix-it fic gone off the rails. Don't time travel, folks.
Oh, and there's a sweet Timebomb twist by the end<3
Category: Angst, Horror, Fluff, Comedy, Mood Whiplash Galore.
Ships: Ekko x Jinx, Silco x Vander, Silco x Revolution, Jinx x Chaos.

If so can you do a Ekko x GN reader where the two of them having really bad fight then the reader said they should take a break of this relationship and left the Firelight place. (You can make it a little drama like having a boy or girl got too comfy with Ekko or not your choice! Angst at the beginning then fluff in the end and sorry if my grammar bad, English isn't my first language)

The air that surrounded the Firelight soldiers as the squad returned to the hideout could be described as something akin to tension.
It was heavy, weighing on the soldiers shoulders as the squad of five hung their battle wear and accessories in their respective cubbies for housing. No one dared to speak, for fear that the unbridled temper that was thinly veiled by their leader’s quiet demeanor would be unleashed if a word was spoken into the unanimously agreed upon silence.
It was thick, evident in the way the squad members pushed through the hot and sticky summer air to hang their belongings. The hesitance slowed their movements, careful not to cause any abrupt disturbances in the carefully crafted momentum that would guarantee the three other squad members precise escape from the gear room and into the open clearing of the sanctuary, where although the air was still blazing hot, it was better to breathe than the air inside, looming with hostility.
Three would find their escapes successful, returning to their individual rooms to release the stress that had settled in their muscles from the night's events. And although they had escaped the worst of it, something still lingered in their stomachs as the distance between them and the last two remaining squad members in the gear room grew.
It wasn’t just tension. It was apprehension.
White locs were dirtied with gunpowder and sweat, a thin layer of it also coating his dark cacao skin. A deep frown makes its way onto the leader’s face, frown lines prominent on his forehead, thick nose scrunched in vexation. He leaned against a nearby table, arms swollen and toned with muscle folded across his chest as he stared at the woman before him. He was trying to calm himself, formulate the words he would say in a way that wouldn’t be regrettable, but as the events of the night continued to replay in his mind, he found his efforts nugatory.
It wasn’t just tension; it was apprehension.
He watched the woman before him take her precious time in putting up her gear. She wasn’t ignorant to the tension in the room. She wasn’t ignorant, but she knew the cause of it. She knew the reason why she was taking her time in stripping off her coat, making sure it hung on the right hook by the right tag. She knew the reason behind taking extra care in extracting her mask from her face, placing the facial ornament flat onto the floor of the cubby. She knew the reason why she was taking extra care in removing her gloves instead of ripping them off like normal.
It wasn’t just tension.
It was apprehension.
“So,” the leader’s voice echoes out into the room, the first vocal sound to do so outside of the rustle of clothing against wood and clacking of the same material against the frame of the cubby made from metal. His voice  was deep, laced with madden, restrained, “wanna talk about what the fuck that was out there?”
“Nothing,” you responded, short and curt. You were biting your tongue, the both of you knew it. You were restraining yourself just as much as he was, “it was nothing-”
“Bullshit,” the white haired boy interjects, “you don’t do shit like that and call it ‘nothing’, (Y/N).”
He could see your jaw flexing, attempting to keep your mouth closed and your resolve intact as you stored away your last glove, closing the cubby door, all without looking at him.
“I’m not doing this with you.” You firmly announce. Your pair of feet that had been stuck in the same position finally followed your will to move as you turned to the doorway, preparing to leave the room.
“You don’t have a choice, Captain!”
His voice is booming, thunderous like a God, and it commands you to halt your movements. The use of your title makes you grit your teeth, a tight breath slipping past your lips in a gamble for reclaiming your composure.
The leader pushes himself from his leaning position, standing firmly on his own two feet, hands coming together in a prayer motion in front of his face to stifle the agitation in his voice he was sure to let slip.
“We had a plan,” he says securely, though ironic in the current situation, “we had a plan to track movement. We had a plan to solely track that shipment; why the fuck did you divert from the plan?”
This wasn’t just tension; it was apprehension.
“The fuck do you want me to say, Ekko?” You seeth through gritted teeth, slowly but surely turning to face the boy behind you. “What the fuck is there to say?”
There’s an intensity in the air that comes from the severity of the situation at hand. Both of you restraining yourselves from enacting a yelling match, attempting to prevent the inevitable; trying to remain civil for each other’s sakes. Because if anyone knew how badly this could end, it would be the both of you.
“I fucked up,” you admit, though that was already evident in the heated silence that followed the squad home, “I made a fucking mistake. Is that what you want to hear?”
“No,” Ekko answers imply, “no, that’s not what I want to hear. Because that’s bullshit, too.”
“Excuse me?” You scoff, your expression mixed with shock and disbelief. “How are you gonna tell me about what I did? You think I don’t know what a fucking mistake is-”
“That wasn’t no fucking ‘mistake’, (Y/N)!” Ekko interjects again, and it’s the subtlety of which he does so that begins to spark an ember in your core with him.
“We been in this game- we been together- for seven years, (Y/N),” the brown eyed boy continues, “seven fucking years. You think I don’t know your mistakes by now? You think I don’t know you?”
Of course he does, you think. Otherwise he wouldn’t be as angered as he is right now.
“I know what it was,” he proclaims, pointing at you in an accusatory motion “it was your head.”
“My head?” You reiterate, said limb on your body tilting to the side, a growing annoyance evident in your voice. “What about my head, Ekko?”
“You really gon’ make me say it out loud?”
“Yes, cuz I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”
It was a lie; you knew very well what he was referencing. You weren’t sure how it was so easy for such words to spill from your lips. Maybe it was because of the suddenness of this confrontation, despite knowing it was bound to happen. You’d played every plausible scenario of how this exact moment would play out, attempting to prepare yourself for Ekko’s questioning, and the inevitable argument that would take place. Maybe it was because you wanted him to hurry this charade along, despising his natural skill of dragging things on for far longer than what they needed to be.
“I have you as my sniper for a reason,” Ekko begins, “I have you as my second in command for a reason. Not because you’re the only person I’ve got left-” a fib of his own spills from his lips, but addressing it would not steer the conversation anywhere but in circles, “-not because you’re my fucking girlfriend, but because you proved that you could always hold a chill head. That you could take the orders given. That you could make the calls when I can't.”
“I’m sure you’ll get to a point eventually, Ek.” You scoff, refraining from rolling your eyes as he lectured you as if you were still children, holled up in an alleyway on the streets of the Undercity, hiding from enforcer soldiers.
“Whatever the fuck that was out there, was not a calm and chill head. So I need you to tell me,” Ekko steps closer, the sound of his combat boots echoing throughout the tattered walls of the gear room, “what did you see that knocked you off?”
“This is ridiculous, Ekko,” you profess, “what’re you gonna do if I don’t?” Take me off the tracking team? Demote me?”
Perhaps it wasn’t wise to say such daring words to the very leader of the rebellion you swore your life to. If there was anything about Ekko that was redeeming, it was his unyielding devotion to owning his title and standing on his word. And as he stands before you, an arms length away with chocolate brown irises blazing into yours with a fire so hot it could scorch your own fierce ones, there’s a gnawing at your stomach that tells you that he absolutely would.
“You think I won’t?”
Silence filled the already tension-thick atmosphere, seeping into the folds and making it all the more unbearable. You weren’t sure how long the two of you stared at each other in a battle of will, a common practice the two of you engaged in whenever a disagreement arised. Without an audience, the glares in exchange lasted for what felt like minutes, hours.
And Ekko wasn’t backing down.
“Are you serious?” You muttered through gritted teeth. “All this over a dumb mistake that will never happen again?”
“It was a mistake that could have costed us lives!” Ekko bellows once more, and if it weren't for it being the second time he had raised his voice, you may have flinched by the volume it had risen to. “We can’t afford to make mistakes, (Y/N) - especially with what we do - you know that more than anyone here!”
“And it wont happen again!” You declared, garnering agitation in your voice from having to repeat yourself more than you would like to.
“And how can I know that, (Y/N)!?” Ekko shouts, challenging your words once more, and it more than suggests to you that he doesn’t believe them. He knows you’re not telling him everything, and it irks him to his core.
You turn once again with a mission to leave, even getting your feet to start moving, but that doesn’t stop Ekko from continuing to speak his mind. “What’s so hard about telling me what you saw!?”
“How many times do I have to tell you that it was nothing?”
“You can tell me a thousand times and I still won’t believe you-” the white haired boy rebutted, “because this isn’t you, (Y/N)!”
You weren’t sure for how long your back and forth ensued. Countless minutes of shouting back and forth, overlapping words, pleas to come clean, pleas to forget. This kind of situation wasn’t unfamiliar territory for the two of you. Ekko had a lot of weight on his shoulders, a lot of trauma he hadn’t yet faced, that he had pushed deep down to never be addressed. You understood, because you related.
You both were there that night. You both witnessed the same act of monstrosity from the sworn enemy of your people’s leader. It was the very catalyst for the current occupation the both of you shared as leaders in a dwindling community, striving for peace and unadulterated existence while simultaneously fighting against the overwhelming clutch Silco’s grasp held on Zaun.
The woman you had become was because of that bastard's treachery and cruelty, who played a game that cost the lives of thousands. A woman of practicality, precision and calculated action. In this world there was very little room for emotion. Years ago, you wouldn’t gotten roughed up a little, but now, it got you a one-way ticket to the green, polluted waters of the desolate sewer system to be feasted on by the rats…and whatever other poor monstrosities that came from SIlco’s Shimmer.
Ekko knows this. Ekko knows all of it. Which is why he finds himself so frustrated that you won’t talk to him. It’s only in the midst of his grunting and growling that it clicks to him. A possibility as to why you acted out of such a practiced routine. Yet, he doesn’t know if he should rejoice about his revelation, or grow even more heated.
“You saw her.”
Three words that seemed to silence the world spilled from his lips in a breathy gasp. He knows he’s right when your lips come together in a tight line, and for the first time since the confrontation was initiated, your eyes divert from his.
You saw her.
“You saw her, didn’t you?” He asks, but is met with silence once again.
The topic of Jinx was always a sensitive one. Ekko may have been able to fool himself into detachment from the blue haired girl, shredding whatever hope he had left of recovering the old Powder who loved to go on runs with the two of you and made trinkets for your birthdays out of scrap metal and hard work. However, the same could not be said for you.
“(Y/N)-”
“So what if I did?” The rebuttal is sharp tongued and weighty, heavy with emotion, and Ekko knows what is inevitable to come.
“So what if I did see her, Ekko? What would you say?” You ask through gritted teeth, words strained as you feel the dam of emotions inside of you starting to overflow. “The same old shit you say all the time? That she’s gone and there’s no path of redemption for her? That she’s not worth saving?”
He’d never said such words aloud, but Ekko was guilty of thinking them, and to hear them verbalized tore open the same wound in his heart he’d patched up time and time again with each mention of the long lost friend.
“You may be able to let go, Ekko,” you grumble through gritted teeth, eyes watering over, and Ekko doesn’t know if its the sight of you crying or if it's the way the conversation has shifted that has him stilling, jaw clenched tightly, “but I can’t do that…I just can’t.”
And then, you left. And suddenly the unbearably thick summer air turned bitingly cold against Ekko’s skin as he watched you walk away. And as Ekko wipes down the length of his face, he knows there’s nothing much left for him to do but wait.
Wait until the air has become more bearable to breath. Wait until the tension has subsided. Wait until apprehension no longer clogs his stomach heavily, so that regrettable words would not be spoken.
Tumblr media
“Hey, I’ll be back in a bit.”
“Going to the market?”
“Yeah. Your bike needs a rotator chain, I’m gonna see if I can find one on the west end.”
One week. Seven days. 168 hours since you’ve last seen Ekko.
“Be careful out there. Silco’s goons have been making rounds again, and they aren’t sparing anyone in these parts.”
You don’t remember leaving the sanctuary. You just remember waking up on your friends couch after, according to them, was a rough and stormy night. You probably blacked out after your screaming match with him, and had an overwhelming desire to just get away. Your friend’s place was the only spot safe enough for you to crash at until you got your head straight.
Though, after seeing what you saw, could you really expect to snap back in a mere few hours?
“I’ll be good. They won’t touch me if they know what’s good for them.”
You left the tiny home of your friend, clad in the same clothes you had left in and a jacket you were quick to grab from their wardrobe. They lived pretty high up above the marketplace - the homes of the residents of Zaun were built into the underside of the extravagant Piltover, where everything was dark, dank, and cold. Layers upon layers of makeshift apartments stacked on top of one another for conservation of what little space the undercity did have.
Your hand grabbed the pole of the crossbridge that led from the side your friend’s apartment was to the other, and with expert precision, you maneuvered your way down the several levels and layers of homes connected by bridges of wood, metal and concrete.
Memories of parkouring as a little girl began to flutter into your mind. How you loved to best Ekko, the self proclaimed ‘King of Parkour’, at his own game. How Powder would tag along with you because she wanted to be with her friends-
Fuck, you weren’t suppose to think about her.
You were thankful your feet met the ground before more thoughts of Powder filled your mind, because if you had still been swinging from pole to pole and jumping from wood to metal, you’d surely lose your balance and come falling down the rest of the way. It was the effect the past had one you; and an unfortunate one at that.
It’s as if the second you find landing and start to walk in the direction of the marketplace, your ears catch wind of commotion to your left. The muffled grunting and clamoring causes you to pause and turn, peering out of your hood to see what was happening.
You’d always been the one to answer a call to action, so there wasn’t much surprise when you found yourself inching closer to the alleyway of which was producing the concerning sounds. It had only been ingrained into you from your youth, and had become second nature in the wake of Silco’s reign. Having a knack for helping people was a blessing and a curse, and while it got you into more trouble than you would like, the favors that you’d stocked up on came in handy.
Approaching the alleyway closer you could make out two figures standing - Silco’s men, no doubt, given the way they dress and the horrible filth they speak. Then there’s a person on the ground, wearing green.
Green was the color of the Firelights, and so naturally, you assumed the worst.
With your ankle pressing against the small knife hidden in your boot, you knew what had to be done. You crouched down behind a stack of crates and whistled, catching one of the perp’s attention. As they approached your direction for inspection, in one quick motion, you slipped the knife from your boot, took hold of the perp’s arm and knocked him into the wall. The blade made itself a home in his neck, muffling any yell he would’ve mustered out.
By the time you were finished, the second perp had been taken care of as well by the victim they were cornering. Revealing yourself from behind the stack of crates, your worries had been confirmed when getting a closer look at the coat the other person was wearing.
It was indeed a Firelights coat - a deep forest green to blend in with the shadows but still be distinguishable. The Firelight had been injured it seemed, as they held their arm close and with care, wincing with every movement of it that was made.
“Hey,” you called out to them, advancing closer to them as you did so, “you alright? Where’s your partner? You know if you’re patrolling you gotta be in pairs-”
“(Y/N)!” The Firelight gasps out in relief, confusing you. “Lieutenant- you’ve gotta help us! We were outnumbered- a-and got split up, they jumped us!- from every corner, we didn’t see them coming-”
“Hey, hey, hey,” You quickly soothing, grounding the obviously frightened soldier with reassuring hands on their shoulder, guiding them to breathe, “you have to slow down for me, and breathe so you can clearly-”
“-a-and it’s Ekko- Ekko, he got hurt-”
And in that moment, your world slows, and there’s an instant pit in your stomach that comes from thinking the worst. If Ekko of all people got taken out of commission, whatever that was going on was serious.
“...okay,” you start after your shock passes over you. As if a switch in your brain is flipped, and now you’re in fight mode, “you need to take me to where you all split from. Now.”
Your voice is commanding and stern, leaving no room for discussion. The Firelight, still holding his arm, nods at your command. As the two of you leave, you pick up the weapon that the second perp had been carrying on his back; it wasn’t anything compared to your sniper gun, but it would have to do.
According to the Firelight, the mission was to stop one of Silco’s Shimmer transports to a hotspot location known for distribution of the drug. The normal prep for such a mission was done properly, but there was an underestimation of power in numbers on Silco’s end. What’s more, a certain blue haired girl decided to make her presence known as well, and her erraticness threw everyone off square. To save face, Ekko commanded everyone to split up.
Which meant Ekko was alone, and hurt, and probably wallowing in some form of guilt, and that could not do. A guilty Ekko was not a functional one.
“We were over there when the fight started,” said the Firelight as the two of you stood on top of a roof overlooking the distribution post, “when he made the call, I saw him go east in the direction of the Last Drop. The two other soldiers went west, and I ran south.”
Two large, burly men, littered with tattoos and hardened by the streets, guarded a small cart covered with blue metal barrels, a strip of thick translucent plastic going down the side, showing the bright magenta liquid inside. Four more paced around the small clearing area, seemingly on the lookout for someone.
Six men within a ten yard radius of each other. If you were right, that cart held about thirty gallons of Shimmer. Tests done on the drug proved that it was highly flammable, which normally meant that with your sniper gun, setting the scene ablaze would be easy. But with a mere regular shotgun in your possession, you’d need an extra boost.
“Look in your pouch for me,” you direct to the Firelight soldier, “do you got any of those spark pouches?”
The Firelight uses his good arm to fish in his thigh pouch, producing a small, red sack of gunpowder. “What’re you thinking, Lieutenant?”
“We need to take these guys out while destroying that shipment in the process,” you explain, pointing towards the triangular shape of trajectory between each of the guardsmen and the cart, “the spray of the Shimmer is about fifteen yards, which will cover more than enough of the ten yard radius those guys are in. I need you to throw that spark pouch right in between the two guards on my signal. When I shoot, it’s gonna be enough Shimmer spray to kill them…but we gotta move fast to avoid it.”
It wouldn’t have been the first time someone looked at you crazy for such a straightforward plan. You’d garnered many such stares since you first began in the Firelight ranks. There was a method to your madness, as Ekko would put it, and there had never been a reason for anyone to not trust your judgements or plans. Despite the Firelight’s initial questioning of the credibility of such a plan, there was no choice but for him to go along.
The two of you backed up as much as possible on the rooftop to make it easier for a clean getaway. Once in position, you pulled out the gun you had acquired earlier, checking the magazine for sufficient bullets. Then, you took aim at the center of the cart, inhaling a deep breath to steady your hand and focus your vision.
At one, the world began to slow when your aim focussed steadily.
At two, you prepared your wrist for the recoil that would shock your hand.
At three, the Firelight soldier threw the spark pouch with expert precision. Not a second later, the shot from your gun rung out.
Tumblr media
The sight that Ekko wakes up to is a pleasant one compared to the week he’s had.
The sun is blinding through his makeshift sunroof. There’s a dull pain on his side, and a ringing in his ears that subsides the more his vision focuses. It’s a great contrast to what he thought he’d be seeing when he awoke, but he welcomes the feeling of home that washes over his being.
His eyes turn to his side where he sees you, sitting next to his bed. His jacket is thrown loosely over your shoulders, and in your hands, you twirl a piece of folded paper. His eyebrows furrow at the sight; he isn’t expecting you to be here with him.
Noticing that he’d woken up, you focus your attention on the injured man. The folded letter is placed on the crate that acts as a nightstand next to Ekko’s bed, and you lean forward onto the bed to get closer to him. His hair is disheveled, locs splayed everywhere on his pillow and on his face. His abdomen is bandaged tightly, yet even the white gauze leaves little to the imagination. And the sun shines on his cocoa colored skin, contrasting against your own as you slip his larger hand into your own.
You needed to feel him, and be thankful that he was here.
“Hey, you,” Ekko croaks out, voice raspy and patchy from what you can only assume was yelling and sleep.
“Hi,” you mutter out against the back of his hand, lips pulled into a tight smile.
“Thought you were still mad at me.”
“”m not mad,” you mumble, shaking your head, “just glad you're okay.”
The fact that you’re not being snarky with him tells Ekko that there’s something weighing on you; something that’s not remorse for your absence, but something deeper. His eyes travel over to the nightstand, falling onto the letter once again.
“What’s that?” He points out, curiosity filling his patchy voice.
There’s a moment’s pause before you speak again, your voice somber and emotional; “It’s….what I saw.”
What I saw can only be referring to the incident a week prior, Ekko determines. His eyes turn back to you, his hand giving yours a gentle tug towards him, gesturing for you to climb into bed with him. He meets little resistance, and takes a little pride in how easily you slip into his side, molding against his form as you were made to. His arm wraps around your shoulders, helping you hide in the crook of his neck; a much needed escape you’ve wanted to indulge in for a while.
“Deal with it later,” he mumbles against your hairline, “jus’ stay with me.”
Resting against Ekko’s broad chest, you thought on his words. Knowing yourself, dealing with things later wouldn’t be as productive as he’d hope. You’d want to forget the subject entirely, revert back to the same concealment as before. Knowing the both of you, it couldn't be dealt with later.
“It was her eyes, Ekko,” You mumbled into his shirt, prompting the darker male to turn his attention to you, “there was something in them, Ekko. I swear there was.”
Seeing Jinx on that night wasn’t what any of you had intended. She’d very scarcely shown her face on the streets of Zaun, presumably at SIlco’s behest. As mad of a kingpin he was, he himself couldn’t deny the deranged nature the blue haired girl had. And yet, when she showed signs of stability, he seemed to allow her off on transportation missions at the very least. And it just so happened that after six years, a week ago was the first time you’d seen Jinx since the night Vander died.
When you saw those blue eyes, dulled and lifeless, it hurt. Hurt to know that the possibility of Powder truly being gone was higher than what you’d let yourself believe. Hurt to know that you would never have your friend back, and that there would never be any chance of recovering the family you’d list all those years ago.
You’d seen her, and then, she saw you. And when she did, the world slowed. And for a second, when your eyes caught each other, a flash of something came across her eyes that caused your body to react against your well-trained judgment. It was as if she had recognized you and felt a sense of…wistfulness.
Though it didn’t reflect anything of the like when she raised her gun towards you, and you had no choice but to act before she could.
“There was a moment where I…thought she recognized me,” you muttered, “but then she….raised her gun to me.”
Ekko’s chest stuttered as he released a shaky breath to your words. There’s a pause before you speak again, “Is it easier for you to just…believe she’s really gone?”
A long moment of silence passes…”Yeah, it is.”
Ekko has always thought about Jinx. It’s hard not to when her presence can change any of his plans on a whim, since he has people to protect and her mentality is as finicky as a time bomb. But Powder…he hates to think about her.
“If she was gone from the start,” Ekko mutters through a voice crack, “it means there wasn’t a chance to save her in the first place. Means I never failed in saving her, I guess.”
Your hand reaches up to caress Ekko’s face, jaw clenched tight from his own words, and when you look into his eyes, you can see the vulnerability he tries so hard to hide when talking about the blue haired girl. There was beauty in it, you always told him, though you never thought he truly believed you when you said it. Ekko was never given much grace to be vulnerable, to be a boy. He’d found that in you; so you knew it took a lot for him to even admit as such to your question.
You don’t really get to be a kid after watching the people you love die in front of you. Even the ones who still walk the land with another soul in their bodies.
You press a kiss onto his lips; gentle, affirming, and grounding. Your thumb runs the length of his cheekbones and  you find comfort in the crevice of his neck once again. When Ekko relaxes against your hold, you release a breath of air, and think that perhaps it’s best that you adopt his way of thinking as well.
Powder was gone, but at least in this hell, you had each other.

❤️I'm Glad To Be Back 🖤
//Vi x Fem! Reader 18+//
MDNI or I'll take you knee caps
Summary: You and Vi had broken up on some unanswered terms and it's been months. You found someone, trying to replace her love but it only ends up with you back on her couch every week until this time, you would be staying for a while.
Warning ⚠️: mentions of a abusive relationship, angst to fluff, smut, fingering, Reader!receiving, Vi!Giving, ex to lovers, soft!Dom Vi, Vi being vulnerable with you, (that's all I can think of)
Tumblr media
Of fucking course.
No matter how fucking long you try, you always end up back to Vi's place. Where you two last broke off things. It was bad and it hurts to be here, but frankly it was better then with your abusive ex.
After you broke things off with Vi, you found an asshole and try to replace that love with this random person. Yet, it all went sideways when they started yelling at you and throwing things at you, glass bottles and such. This resulted you to have multiple sleepovers on Vi's couch. This time, it was in public and everyone in the Last Drop caught it. Though, you're glad that Vander and others were able to catch it and beat that guy to a pulp, you would have to stay at Vi's place for a few days. Vander asked Powder and Ekko to throw out your ex's bullcrap out of your apartment, which will take a few days, since he put almost everything he owns into your apartment.
After that experience at the Last Drop, Vander took you to Vi's place. Vi was there luckily, she must've taken the day off to rest. Once Vi opened the door, she was not happy to see you in a scared broken state. It broke her heart, because she still cared for you despite how things were between you too.
But now here you sit in silence on Vi's couch, Vi pacing back and forth, wondering how to talk to you. Yet, she needed to break the silence and actually talk to you. Vi brings you a water bottle and places it by you as she sat down by you. You have a tear ridden face, quivering, shaking from the cold late night air. You try to hide your face from Vi but that wasn't go to work. Vi will continue to look at you. "do you want to talk about it?" Vi speaks so soft and gentle, you wanted to cry so bad. "... How else do I need to explain it... Same person doing the same shit to me and me resulting to be back here." You sound so quiet and broken, you can't even bring yourself to look up, feeling ashamed. Vi sighs, she has to ask this question. "Why the hell were you even with that coward?! You used to not tolerate bullcrap and you keep falling back to him," Vi heart pounds with anger, seeing you like this. Seeing you do this to yourself. "Look I knew we ended bad, but--"
"Don't you think I know that, Vi?! Everywhere I fucking look you, walking or just doing work for Vander, y-you didn't seem to be fucking effected by our breakup at all!! while I'm here breaking and crumbling into fucking pieces, you constantly being out and not even a good morning passes me by! I stooped this fucking low for that interaction, Vi!" You stood up to match her energy. Vi stood up after to look you in the eyes. "Are you fucking kidding me?! You were the best thing I ever fucking had until I let it go! I didn't know you needed me and I let you through the cracks, because I was focused on our future!!" Vi yelling caused you to flinch, stepping back. The moment you flinched from Vi, it scared her greatly and she pulled you close comforting you, she didn't want to be the monster. No matter how fucking brutal she was fighting, she was always gentle with you. You heard swelled just to be back in Vi's embrace. Not too soon, you started sobbing. "(Y/N), If I could help you before I knew you needed me, I would saved you sooner and stop all these ridiculous hours at work... Y-You know that, right," Vi's voice was quivering as she held you by the back of your head and your lower waist, "I fucking love you, I was so concerned of just living a life with you to meet our expectations as a healthy family... But I felt like I kept failing you..." Vi started sobbing a little. You never heard Vi cry, but you knew something was up when she starts crying. You were so confused where the level of expectations even came from. You quickly cup her face as you watch her tears fall.
"Vi... Where is this coming from...? Did I put expectations on you...? If so, I wasn't trying... I didn't mean too, I was just happy as long as you were happy. I'm confused," you look into Vi's soft pale eyes. "No you didn't... I just wanted to be that providing girlfriend... Potentially wife with our future family and house and... I guess I didn't share my plans with you and got caught up with trying to be what you needed and deserve the most. I felt like I couldn't do the most for you..." Vi laughs a little, wiping her eyes, trying to stop crying. She can't help herself though, she just wanted to be with you and make you happy in the end. The breakup only proved her worst fears. You just kept looking at her and started thinking as it all connects. The late nights, the constant getting up early at dawn despite her coming home at 3 am. Vi wasn't cheating on you or doing the worse. She was building for you and your future to be that providing wife. She wanted to make you proud. You started to tear up a little as you hugged her tightly. "I'm so sorry... You deserve the world. you didn't need to that providing wife for me. I wished you told me... I was happy as long as you were happy. Yes I was getting a little sad, but I still wished you told me, that's the time to come to me and we work things out together. You can't shoulder everything yourself, Vi. I just wanted you to be in the present with me, not nose deep in the future." You words calmed down Vi. You constantly remember how Vi always grew up to be that protector for everyone, with little in return. You felt like an idiot for just walking out and not coming back for a month... you both messed up. You held Vi in your arms, as she sniffled and cried. Her apartment was silent except for her crying. As you rocked her and rubbed her back, you noticed there was some beer bottles in the kitchen. "V-Vi..." You mumbled silently seeing those bottles. She was gonna drink herself till she passed out, at least that's the conclusion you came to without going down a worst rabbit hole. Your heart completely shattered and you started to cry with her.
Moments later, you both admitted your faults and apologized. You two would be committed to share every thoughts and be honest with each other. Despite everything that happened at the Last Drop, deep down you were glad to be back here. You two just curled up on the couch and cuddled each other in silence with the hussle and bussle of the lanes in the background. The feeling was wonderful. You never had a better time then being in each other's embrace. Vi got to examine your beautiful face that she fell in love with all over again. "I can't believe I almost forgot what it felt like to wake up to a beauty like you," Vi hummed as she pushed your hair aside. Her tears had dried up by now and so has yours. You giggled and held Vi's hand, giving it small kisses on her bruises knuckles. "it's better to wake up to you, then a half drunk sleep ridden guy." You laugh a little as Vi gives a slight chuckle. "Oh and don't worry, I'm getting my punches in that assholes face. No need to fret about that," Vi smiled a little excited. You don't usually condone violence, but you'll excuse Vi on this case. "You hungry? I can order food for you, since you'll be here again." You shook your head at Vi's offer. "I just want to be here with you again is all," you rest your head against her chest. You sat up and cupped her face. "Would it be too soon that I wanted to kiss you?" Vi asked nervously. You smiled, as you took the leap.
That leap confirmed to Vi that you still love her and she was happy to let you know that she still loved you, possibly more. She rolled and gently laid you under her on the couch. More kisses started rolling in and then as the more came in, the more heated it got. Vi didn't take it to far so quickly, she was just excited to have you all to herself once more. You noticed Vi started to get a little scared. "that asshole didn't...?" Vi almost hesitating. "No they didn't, I wouldn't like anyone take anything that's yours, Vi." You smiled softly as she went in for another kiss. "I won't go any further unless you want me too. That's your choice, baby." Vi was a little nervous, like it was the first time. You cupped her face and kisses her nose. "You can go ahead, it's okay, just be gentle." You gave her a welcoming kiss, giving her consent. She looks at your body, you are so beautiful to her and she can't believe she lost you for a month or two. She starts kissing your body slowly, loving and caring for your body. You smile at her softness, it's a reliever to be in her care. Vi slowly removes your short (f/c) shorts, immediately kissing your thighs and leaving tiny little love bites. You giggle at them and hum in a sensual tone. Vi smiles against your thighs, god how she could spend hours loving your body. Vi gathers your underwear with her fingers and pulls them off. Vi smiles at your bare core and then at your eyes. You're a little shy about it, but Vi loves your shy expression. Vi leans forward and gives you kisses on your cheek. She grazes your bare cunt with her fingers. You weren't wet enough, but the moment Vi started touching your bare pussy, you got instantly wet. You didn't understand it, but past relationships haven't gotten you like this before. It was just Vi and her magic fingers. Vi rubs your sensitive bud and continues to kiss your cheek, as you whine and groan. "You're doing good. Just focus on me, baby, I'm here for you," Vi watches as your face twists and turned at the pleasure. You moan softly as you watch Vi toy your soaking pussy. "Mm, so wet for me, baby. You like that, honey?" You nodded at Vi's respond as she slowly inserts her fingers. Your soft moans are so quiet to Vi, it was very peaceful as she cares for you. Other than your soft moans, the sounds of Vi picking up speed made the room louder. You covered your mouth as she gets faster, until you feel her come inches to your face. "No, no baby, look at me, only look at me. Good girl, don't cover up that pretty voice do yours," Vi spoke so softly to you, there were tears in your eyes from the pleasure and how gentle she was being. It made you genuinely happy and that's what Vi was going for. You move your hands around her neck and you look deeply into her soft pale eyes. "Vi... Vi... Please~" you try to give her a kiss, but Vi moves away. "Use your words, (Y/N), I don't know what you want from me," she smirks as she lays kisses on your faces, purposefully avoiding your lips. "I wanna cum, Vi~ I wanna cum, fuckkk," you drag out your words, pleading to these hot goddess fingering you. Vi wouldn't dare to deny, but give her baby what she needs. She picks up the speed, making you moan louder as your release was coming. "fuck!," Vi smiles at your exclamation and gives you a kiss as you squirm from your release. You pant and cup her face. You just stare into each other's eyes as you come down from you high. "M-My turn..." You smirk at Vi a little breathless. but Vi shook her head. "No baby, you came for me and that's all I needed," You nodded at Vi's request. You moan softly as her fingers does one last teasing push before removing them from your soaking core. She instinctively starts licking her fingers, which made you cover your face. You didn't know how to act when she does so, but she laughs about how shy you get.
Vi loves you so much and you love her equally. She can't wait to marry you. She can't wait to even punch that asshole in the face for you. Vi is just happy for you to be back in her life.
~ ~ ~

❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
『𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟭. 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱』
"Let them go now!" A certain raven-haired boy yelled, running up to an enforcer who was holding a woman by the throat. He rammed his body against the man as hard as he could, knocking them both to the ground.
He raised his fist and punched the enforcer in the face, knocking him out cold. He was so fixed on the man under him that he didn't notice another enforcer come up behind him.
But luckily, Vander saw this and punched the guy away from the teenager.
The boy went over to the parents and sighed, seeing the father already dead and the mom barely clinging to life. "Mamm, just hold on; we're going to get you help," he whispered, putting pressure on her wound, but the woman just shook her head and removed his small hand.
"No, please save my daughter's," she whispered, her eyes slowly closing.
"Mamm? Mamm!?" No matter how hard he tried to wake her, she wouldn't open her eyes. He put his head to her chest, listening for a heartbeat, but couldn't hear one signaling that she had passed on.
He turned to look at Vander, who was waiting for an answer, but the frown on the boy's face said everything.
"It's alright, son; you did the best you could," Vander muttered, patting the boy's head and helping him onto his feet.
"Let's get you back home before your mother tries to have my head for almost getting you killed," he chuckled, getting ready to walk away, but the teenage boy grabbed his hand, stopping him in his tracks.
"Wait, we need to find the girls, she said, to save her daughter's". On cue, two girls walked out of the red smoke. One looked around the boys age with short pink hair and silver grey eyes, and the smaller one had blue hair with blue bell eyes.
They looked around in desperate fear, and the boy could tell that they were looking for their parents, but all the girls saw were them.
Vander slowly approached the girls, with the boy right behind him. The blue-haired girl immediately curled up to her sister's side while still looking at the two males.
The pink-haired girl looked up at Vander almost as if asking where her parents were, but when she saw his face, she felt her heart break into two.
She looked around and gasped slightly when she saw the bodies of her parents. The younger sister didn't even need to look; the pain on her sister's face said enough for her.
She watched as her big sister fell to her knees and started to cry her eyes out. The little sister wrapped her arms around her neck and cuddled her head into it, with a tear dropping down her eye as well.
The two males just watched in sorrow. The boy looked up at Vander and gestured to the girls. "We should take them," he said.
Vander looked back at the girls and nodded his head. He leaned down to the girls height, and they turned their sights to him.
"What's your name, darlings?" He questioned them softly.
"I'm Vi, and this is Powder." The pink-haired girl spoke up, sniffling slightly, and gestured to the blue-haired girl, who is now known as Powder.
"Well, Vi, Powder, my name is Vander, and this boy right here with me is Ajari, but you can call him Aj for short." The girls looked at the dark-skinned boy, who gave them a small smile and a wave.
Aj walked up to Vi and extended his hand for her to take. "You can come with us. I promise you'll be safe."
Vi stared at his hand, contemplating whether to take it or not, but eventually she accepted his hand. But when she touched it, she felt a small spark, making her flinch just a little, but Aj didn't seem to notice as he helped her onto her feet.
She stumbled a little, groaning at the small pain in her left leg, but Aj adjusted her.
Vander picked Powder up, and she immediately curled into his chest.
Aj decided to do the same thing and picked Vi up bridal style. The pink-haired girl was shocked but didn't say anything.
She slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder.
As they walked away from the scene, Vi glared at the remaining enforcers that were watching them before disappearing into the red smoke.
She looked up and eyed the Piltover, giving it that same hateful look.

When they made it back to The First Drop, Sevika was quick to jump from the table and rush to her son with a not-so-happy look on her face.
Aj knew what was coming and gave Vi to Vander, who gave him a look basically saying 'good luck' Aj sighed and turned to his mother, only to be smacked at the back of the head. He yelled loudly and rubbed his head.
"Oww, ma," he grumbled.
"Oww, my ass, where the hell were you? I never gave you permission to go out with Vander." Sevika scowled. That look would have scared anyone else, but not Aj; he's seen it way too many times.
He had a huge habit of disobeying his mother, a trait that she said he got from his dad, which confused him since he's never really heard of his dad much.
"We were going out for supplies, and we saw this couple getting attacked. We couldn't save them, but we saved their daughter's," he explained.
"Ok, but I'm not their parent; I'm your parent, and as I say goes, you do not go off without informing me. Do you understand?"
Aj rolled his eyes and was going to smack his lips, but Sevika caught on to it and hardened her glare. "Ajari, if you smack your lips at me, I will knock you out." Aj was quick to close his mouth, knowing that when his mom said his full name, she wasn't playing around.
"Sorry that I didn't tell you I was going out, ma. I'll be sure to inform you next time," he apologized. Sevika sighed and patted his head.
"Just make sure I know next time. Did you at least finish your self-defense lessons before you left?"
"Yes, mamm, and I also need a new trainer. I'm starting to kick his ass at everything. I feel like the trainer," he laughed, and Sevika cocked a smirk.
"That's my boy," she said, ruffling his hair.
After talking with his mom for some time, Aj wanted to go check on the siblings when he saw Vander returning to work.
"Hey Vander, do you have any snacks that I can give to Vi and Powder?" He asked Vander, who nodded and went into the back before coming out a little later with some cupcakes that Aj had made earlier before they left, which were his favorites.
His mouth watered at the delicious treats, and he thanked Vander for taking the snacks and headed to where he saw Vander take the girls.
He left the bar and entered the room where he usually slept, which was a place under the bar, and saw the two girls holding each other while sitting on the bottom of a bunk bed that Vander bought from an auction some time ago.
"Is mommy and daddy okay, Vi?" He heard Powder ask.
"Yes, their ok, Pow Pow, their in a better place away from this mess," the older sister ran her fingers through the blue-eyed girl's hair.
"Will we see that better place one day?"
"Yes, when it's our time, we will."
Aj decided to make his presence known, and he cleared his throat, catching the attention of the two girls. Powder immediately dove behind her sister, still not used to seeing other people.
"Uh, hey, sorry, I had to leave. my mom is pretty strict with me leaving this place and uh I noticed you guys been down here kinda long so I thought I'd bring you guys some food these are chocolate cupcakes their my favorite" he said giving the plate to Vi.
"Thank you," she muttered.
She took a cupcake off of the plate and handed it to Powder, who looked at it curiously. She hesitantly licked the icing, and Aj almost laughed at how cute she looked when her eyes lit up like Christmas lights.
She instantly unwrapped the wrapper and took a big bite out of the dessert. Her once-scared frown was a huge smile.
"Wow! This is really good!" She said this while Vi and Aj watched her with soft smiles.
"Thank you; I make them myself, actually," Aj commented.
"Really?"
"Yep, I always had a passion for cooking, so I usually help Vander in the kitchen or I cook my own meals. I've got to learn how to survive at some point." Powder finished her cupcake, and Aj took the wrapper and tossed it into a small bin.
"You still haven't tried one bubblegum," Aj said with a smirk. Vi's eyebrows furrowed, and she cocked her head.
"My name is Vi, not Bubblegum," she huffed, crossing her arms.
Aj just kept smirking and gestured to the cupcakes. Vi sighed and took one of them and unwrapped the wrapper before biting into it, and just like Powder, her eyes lit up at the new taste in her mouth.
"Wow," she mumbled, "these are really good!" Aj smiled in gratitude.
"Well, I usually make them every Thursday, so if you want to come down and help, I'll be in the kitchen."
He handed the girls some water and was going to get up to leave when he was grabbed by Powder. "Wait, don't go. We want to get to know you better." Aj shrugged his shoulders; he had nothing else to do anyway.
"Alright," he replied. The girls made some room for him, and he sat down in the middle.
"So your mother is the Sevika, huh?" Vi said, and Aj nodded.
"Yep, but honestly, despite her horrifying demeanor, she actually a really good mom made sure I survived down here-," he cut himself off as he realized he's talking about his mom to two girls who just lost their parents.
"I'm sorry; I shouldn't be talking about my parents. You guys need some time to mourn."
"No, no, it's fine; we've mourned enough, honestly," Vi reassured.
"Yeah, now we just need a friend," Powder chirped. Aj tried not to pass out from how adorable Powder was.
"Well, then how about we reintroduce ourselves? My full name is Ajari, but you could call me Aj for short."
"My name is Powder."
"And my full name is Violet, but I go by Vi."
"You know Violet is Arabic for hidden beauty," Aj commented.
Vi felt her face heat up slightly at the fact that a guy basically called her cute. She's been complimented before, but those were just cat calls by drunk weirdos. However, it was different because it was by a boy who looked genuine and very handsome at that.
"And powder means gentle or light." Powder's eyes lit up, and a huge smile fell on her face. Aj was happy to help the girls get over the loss of their parents; after all, he wouldn't know what he would do if he lost his mom, even if she can be pretty overbearing at times.
"What is your Arabic for?" Vi asked.
"Oh, my name means to teach or someone who knows the rules, basically a leader," he explained.
"Nice," Powder commented.
"So, where's your dad?" Vi asked.
Aj's eyes furrowed, and he just shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know; I really never met him. Either he died or he walked out on my mom. I never really asked her about him, just in case it struck a nerve in her."
"Understandable," Vi said.
"So, how old are you guys?" He asked.
"I'm 13 and Powder is 6; how about you?"
"I'm 15 my mom gave birth to me here since the hospitals got overrun by enforcers that day I lived here for as long as I can remember mom said it was safer for me to be here"
Aj heard a small yawn and felt a weight on his shoulder. He looked, and he saw that Powder had fallen asleep on his shoulder.
"She's literally so adorable," he cooed, looking down at the small toddler.
Vi nodded in agreement. "She really has always won our parents over with those big eyes."
Aj chuckled and carefully tucked Powder in, and Vi decided to let Powder rest while they finished talking. After some time, the talking turned into jokes.
"And when my mom opened the case and saw the spider, she almost shitted her pants, and I got a whooping after that, but it was so worth it." Vi let out a loud laugh, and Aj couldn't help but state.
Vi noticed him looking and wiped a small tear of laughter from her eye. "What?" She asked.
Aj quickly cleared his throat. "Nothing; it's just that you sound really pretty when you laugh."
"Oh, uh, thanks." Vi tried to stop the incoming blush from taking over her whole face.
"I have something I want to show you," he said, taking her hand and leading her to the rooftop that showed the view of the undercity as well as Piltover.
"Wow, it's beautiful," Vi said, looking out at the view and sitting on the edge with Aj following her move.
"Yeah, I come up here whenever I need to take a breather. Only I know about this spot, and now you do, and one day Powder will too," he replied.
Vi turned her head to the boy and asked, "Why are you being so nice to us?"
"Because everyone needs a friend, right?" Vi smiled slightly and looked into the boys hazel eyes. "I guess.".
