Do you think Vi could be construed as a people pleaser?
Not insofar as we often conceive of the term, no. I don't think so. Vi isn't a people pleaser; she's a person pleaser. Singular.
In my view, Vi's character is marked by a deep codependency. I think she externalizes her sense of purpose and centers it on the individual she cares for most in the world. Her relationship to that person is then defined by service and sacrifice. She's willing to do nearly anything for them, even if it means resorting to self-abasement. Without hyperbole, she would die for them. Anything to preserve that bond, because to lose that person is to lose her reason for living.
Vi is full of love, but none of it is self-directed. It is reserved for her Person. Loving her Person (serving them and sacrificing for them) is the only means by which she's able to cling to the shreds of her self-worth.
Right now, Vi's person is Powder. But the Powder she knows, the one she remembers, the one she loves, no longer exists. In a sense, Powder is dead. This is not a reality with which Vi can readily cope. If she can't direct her love towards Powder, she'll need to direct it elsewhere. The alternative is likely unsurvivable.
In s2, I believe we're likely to see Vi desperately split and shift her care between Powder (a vanishing concept) and Caitlyn (a new and terrifying bond). I think it's likely she'll continue to try and please one or both of them to the detriment of her own well-being. The impulse to "please" anyone else will likely never strike her. She'll be too consumed with serving and sacrificing for the Person (or People) she's chosen to make the fulcrum upon which her whole universe rests.
Thank you for the question.
investigating is hard fellas
