Obligatory ramble about Watchers/Federation underneath.

So, in the Life Series Martyn can hear the Watchers constantly, which could be because of the Watchers' influence or maybe the Listeners (if CC Martyn has answered this, I am not aware, you are welcome to correct me). In the end, it doesn't matter because he still can listen to them and The Purgatory Watcher as well. I imagine he can listen to anything or anyone under his influence even if they are not Watchers themselves.

But that train of thought led me somewhere interesting: The Watcher is just a (theorized) corrupted overseer of Egg Island, just like Cucurucho is on Quesadilla, and the workers are the same. So that means Martyn could listen to the Federation and the workers and be a good spy.

Like, he probably already would have done that because his favorite pastime is to sneak around and listen to private conversations, but now he could do it, without even entering the Federation building, he could do it passively in a relatively safe place.

So his ass is 100% getting kidnapped because this man wasn't grown or raised in the Federation's grasp, they just took him to Quesadilla to fight the Watcher since he has experience with it BUT they don't really know what Martyn can do.

by the time the twins are born, I think most the Handmaidens have been apart from Padmé long enough to look and act pretty uniquely -- but most is not all, and Sabé canonically keeps looking so much like Padmé that Vader thinks she is Padmé LOL soo... realistically it makes sense the twins confused beyond belief about at least ONE of their several mom-but-not-moms

that being said they are 2 of the strongest force users like Ever so Padmé might be really anxious about her kids thinking the wrong é is their mum, but thanks to baby force vibe checks, they literally never get confused loll. either way its very fun

#identical twins would be such a confusing discovery for them #because 1. they dont look the same as one another and 2. mom and aunt sabé arent even blood related and they DO look the same #they think identical twins are a myth the reality is just twins look different and the only ppl who look identical to you are body doubles #thanks for the ask!#also i find it rlly funny that in the 3rd padme book anakin is like the One person to see thru sabé pretending to be padme immediately #but in the vader comics he gets the two of them confused every 2 minutes. down bad disease

so i came up with a rough idea for a scott pilgrim inspired litg au where you have an evil ex from each season (minus season 8 since it's coming out now)

Bobby would be the main character, which I didn't want at first because he's the most popular LI but I think his personality seems the most likely to get into this situation (minus the Scott Pilgrim being an incel but that's why it's inspired and not a one to one). Also works since he's in a band.

Obviously MC is his dream girl (Ramona in the movie). Could probably have Noah be his roommate, who is bookish and also a little sick of his problems. Then you have the other band members: Lottie is the drummer (who is also Bobby's ex who's still a little mad at him), idrc who the guitarist is lol, and then I think it'd be funny to have a character who wants to be in the band but they don't let him until the end and that should be Felix.

The stuff about Knives I understand is important to the Scott Pilgrim story but I'm not a huge fan of the "dating a high schooler" part lol. Still, we can have a character that he's dating who's all in and he is not but he doesn't have the heart to break up with her and ends up breaking her heart anyway, and that's probably Hannah.

MC shows up to his concert and then you meet the first evil ex, Dylan. And MC is like oh they dated for a week in middle school and after she broke his heart, he kind of became the asshole we know him as now. (the only reason I'm picking Dylan first is because I think Matthew Patel is one of the more cringe exes and I just simply couldn't do that to anyone else in s4, plus after the exposition he just gets thrown away anyway).

Next, Bobby, Noah, and MC all go visit a local movie set and they see her next ex, Rafi. I don't know why I always picture Rafi with his like weird smouldering face, but that honestly works well with this character, if you've ever seen pictures of Chris Evans in this movie. Because there's a skateboarding aspect in this, I did consider it should be Jamal, but for the bit I already picked a s6 character so it had to be someone else lol.

Anyway, Rafi gets defeated by his arrogance and then Bobby's band is playing in a contest, where he sees his ex and her new band mate/boyfriend, Mason, who is also MC's ex. As for Bobby's ex, it doesn't matter too much but I could see it being Yasmin since she's also a singer, Priya because she canonically is a fan of Mason's band (i think?) and there are routes where she's initially coupled up with Bobby, or Elisa because I think on some s2 routes she goes for Bobby but also I just like her aesthetic compared to this character in the movie. Also I just think either of them look good next to Mason (maybe they don't fit personality wise but they'd look good)

So Mason gets defeated, probably not with the vegan thing (but if we switch Mason for Levi, I could believe that), but something silly other than physically beating him. Next ex is Bonnie, who is clingy as hell. I don't think we should keep the part where Ramona calls it her like college experimentation stuff because that's not a great stereotype, but I kinda like the idea that Bonnie thinks they were in a relationship and had something but MC is like, no, clearly not.

The next exes are the twins, and so I had no other choice than to make this Ozzy and Marshall. I also think MC probably drove them apart and then when they finally compared stories they finally became friends again and are out for vengeance. Anyway, they get defeated.

Last but not least, the ex to rival all exes, the titular character of s5, we have Suresh running this shit. He is so hung up over MC that he set up this whole league. Literally nothing about his character would make me think he'd do this (because this character in Scott Pilgrim is so malicious actually), but he is the "ex in the villa" so he's gotta be the final boss.

I had rewatched durarara a couple of months ago after like never finishing the second season when it first came out (I have always had a really hard time keeping up with ongoing shows) and assigned memes to some characters, here's the result.

She's too tired to react strongly. She just knew she was being held by him without dying. And that was enough for her to pass out fully: the comfort was enough.

...oh he is judging them HARD. The look of pure disapproval, and the look of "Don't ever do this again.". It was frightening and threatening, but he was still holding her...had he cared just a smidge?

They're new parents...trying to calm their adoptive daughter. They're trying! That's what counts! ...right?

Ate a very late lunch, discovered that the computer controls for Dragon Age: Inquisition suck actually & I'm gonna have to get a controller or something to play it on my laptop, & had a very nice nap. Time to get back to the rewatch/note taking grind & watch the second half of episode 5 so that I can work on outlining chapter 13 over the next week or so!

#personal #a very small part of me feels like chapter 13 might be a reasonable length since its inciting incident #happens literally in the opening few minutes & everything else that happens in text FOR ME #doesn't really involve a LOT of the events of the episode (obviously they happen in the background. but I don't have to ADDRESS them)#plus i'm gonna be back to writing from a kid's POV & my shorter/more reasonable length chapters #were happening before the twins reached double digits #i'm not going to delude myself into thinking that'll DEFINITELY happen though #i'm HOPING I don't have to split chapter 13 in half like I did 12 #(because my planned title fucks & I won't come up with something as good for a two-parter)#so fingers crossed i guess?#for me writing in a normal person way lol
