The truth is if most people knew your story, they‘d probably wonder how you‘re still standing. So, if nobody else has said it to you yet, I‘m proud of you.

STUFF I DIDN'T KNOW WHEN I WAS STILL ABLED...
It's not always obvious what's wrong.
.
Hi, Doctor. I'm tired. Like, all the time.
No. All the time. I wake up exhausted. I fall asleep at work. I fall asleep in the shower. I'm scared to drive.
No, Doctor. You don't understand. I'm not 'sleepy.' Not 'drowsy.' I'm tired in my bones. My blood feels heavy. The weight of my head hurts my neck. I can't think sometimes--I forget how to read--i get lost in familiar places! I say 'tired,' but I mean that 80% of my life, I feel like a sloppy heap of mud splattering and crumbling from too much moving, too much thinking, too much feeling, too much light, too much noise, too much everything. I'm confused and disoriented and like I'm in a terrible dream.
Oh.
That's a symptom of a lot of things?
Anemia. Migraine. Sleep apnea. Vitamin deficiency. Thyroid dysfunctions. Brain diseases. Heart diseases. Neurological disorders. Blood disorders. Autoimmune issues. Depression and other psychiatric conditions. Lifestyle choices: sleep, food, activity level. Environmental factors: mold, pollution, allergies.
There's a lot of testing to rule things out, huh? Could take years? Yes, I know it will be expensive. Yes, I accept that some of the tests will hurt. Yes, I commit to rearranging my eating/sleeping/exercising habits and seeing every recommended specialist.
Doctor, you don't understand. Either we find an answer, no matter how long it takes, or I am trapped outside of the world forever for no reason. Not testing won't make these horrible feelings stop.
Can you imagine feeling this way? Always? During your friends' birthdays? When your boss demands work? When you're home alone in the middle of the night trying to remember how the sink works? During the commute. During the shower. Taking out the trash. Feeding the cats. Staring at your bills. Talking with your family. For years... weddings, funerals, holidays, weekends, 4am, 4pm, when your loved ones need you, during every emergency, while you fail at your job, at your hobbies, at your relationships, at being your basic self?
Fuck, Yes! Doctor! Run! The! Tests! We are burning daylight!! Let's get this ball rolling! Journey of a thousand miles, begins with single step, etc!
I do want to feel better. This is not my imagination. It's not my fault. I am a reliable witness to my own life and I don't care how many tests 'come back normal.' Those must be the wrong tests to find what's haywire. I know something is wrong and even if we can't fix it, I must understand it.
.
I'm now in year 7 of trying to improve my situation. I know so much more about my conditions than I did. I am getting help. I still don't have a full picture. I'm still disabled.
But it's not like it was.
Please. Don't give up. Diagnosis can take years. Some people never get a firm answer. Regardless, you will learn ways to cope. You will meet people who help you cope. Don't give up on yourself. You are worth the effort.
.
Seems like something we should all know.
.
.
.
Disability happens to people without our control or consent. Every single disabled person has strong feelings about their own situation and I would not presume to talk about anyone’s thoughts but my own. But none of us chose to do life on hardmode, so if the world could listen this month, there’s a lot to say.

You are loved. What to do in a crisis and resources on how to get help with mental illness.
If you can, please reblog this so people can be aware of how they can get help.
Hello world! I just thought I’d provide some resources for all the mentally ill out there in this existence. These all worked for me and hopefully they can work for you. If you think you may be suffering from mental illness go to section two and three. If you are currently in crisis, which means you think about or have planned your suicide, go to section one and read through the rest of this post. You are not alone, 792 million people live with mental illness. 264 million live with depression, and 284 million live with anxiety. If you are reading this, it’s a sign to start getting help. If you are struggling, these resources can help you. Just give it a try, it’s worth it. Just remember. You are loved. You are wanted. You are cared for. You are noticed. You deserve to live.
IF YOU ARE IN CRISIS:
Call a suicide hotline!!!!
Hotlines can be helpful at calming you down in a time of high emotion or stress, these people are literally trained to distract you. I’ve called them a few times in my life and it does work I promise. Just try it out.
The U.S number is 988
If you don’t live in the U.S, follow this link to find your countries hotline. Hotlines. Find it on the site and give it a call. Here are some additional hotlines and resource specific help.
Directory of international mental health helplines
A second list of global hotlines
Crisis hotlines for teens and youth
LGBT crisis support
Substance abuse crisis support
Postpartum support
National Domestic Violence Hotline: 800-799-7233
National child abuse hotline
Literally just a list of hotlines for everything
Either while you are on the phone with a hotline or after, send your location to a friend or family member so that someone can come get you or check on you. If that is not an option you can ask the hotline to send someone to come get you. DO NOT. I REPEAT. DO NOT. Stay by yourself in a time of need or crisis. The longer you are alone the more dangerous the situation can become. You are not a burden if you ask someone you love for help, that is what they are there for. Most likely you will be collected by emergency services and they will go from there.
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TAKEN AN ACTION TO KILL YOURSELF DO THE FOLLOWING:
Call 911 if you are in the U.S
If you are not in the U.S call your countries emergency number. Here is a list of countries numbers:
List of emergency telephone numbers
If you are at home with family members go to your family and let them know what happened. Even if they are asleep, wake someone up if you have to. Do this AFTER you have contacted emergency services .
If you are on a college campus, contact your RA or your campus crisis line AFTER you have contact emergency services.
If you are by yourself, WAIT FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES TO ARRIVE. Do not move from your location.
In crisis and after you need to make a safety plan. Safety plans reduce risk of future harm by planning out actions that you can do yourself to reduce emotional stress. Here’s how:
Safety Plan
After crisis assistance:
After crisis assistance can include therapy and psychiatry. I will provide thinks for find both of these things. If you are not currently in crisis but you are experiencing symptoms of mental illness, please make an appointment with one of these assistances. Below there are additional resources for mental health that can also be used as a first step.

Never Give Up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The majority of men meet with failure because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail." --- Napoleon Hill
Tumblr media
I find that it is very common for us to want to accept the feed right before the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. When we want something for so long we end up grinding and working really hard for it for a very long time and then right before we're about to get it most people often give up or tell themselves that it's not going to happen. This then prevents them from reaching their goals similar to the image of the minor who is so close to the diamonds but ends up walking away just a few inches away from them. Persisting in the goal does not have to be a stressful or tiresome process. You do not have to sit there every day repeating affirmations robotically over and over again until you exhaust yourself with emotional burnout. Persistence is the gentle knowing of no matter what is going on or no matter where you are you understand and fully grasp that's what you desire or the goal that you see in your mind is yours and it's done. You're simply only waiting for external confirmation of it.

the OG SIMPLE BULLET JOURNAL SETUP
I wrote a very long rant about the expectations most BuJo videos, tutorials and blogs set. Then I decided to share the basic setup instead, in hopes that those who need a starting point without fancy additions will find it. Here ya go:
Setup order
Home & Key
Index
Future Log
Monthly Log
Daily Log
1. Home & Key
The "This book belongs to" page and the key. Setup once per book.
Here's the classic key:
Tumblr media
2. Index
Setup once / twice per book.
Take 2 pages, write index on top. That's it. You can add a vertical line in the middle of the page to save some space, but not even that is necessary.
As you go on journalling, planning and making lists, You'll write down pages & their content here so you can find what you're looking for easier in the future.
Tumblr media
3. Future Log
Setup once per year.
This is where you put events, deadlines, appointments and the likes so you dont have to flip through multiple months to find what you're looking for.
For the whole year take 4 pages. Ideally 2x2. Title them "Future Log". Draw 2 lines on each to mark thirds. Put the names of the month in each third. That's it.
Fill it in by writing down "day: Event".
Tumblr media
4. Monthly Log
The month as bird's-eye view. Take 2 pages. Left will be your calendar. Write the month at the top and then down the left 1-30 (or 28 or 31, depending on the month). Now check your phone or pc or another calendar to see on which day of the week this specific month starts. Put the initials of the weekdays next to the dates. That's it.
If you like to have the weeks during the month jumping out, add a horizontal line at each end/start of a week. Fill in events, due dates, tasks you want to do on a specific day.
The right page is for stuff you want to do this month, but don't want to schedule right now. Also intentions and a month's end summary have their place here if you want them.
Tumblr media
5. Daily Log
Here's your day-to-day. Write down today's date and weekday if you like. Format it however you like. e.g. "Monday, January 16, 2023" or "M16" or "Monday 16" or "01/16". Doesn't matter. Put whatever you enjoy.
That's it. The daily setup. beneath that you can now write down your tasks, thoughts, events in any order and mixture you like. However it comes to mind, put it here (with it's assigned key).
Bonus: Weekly Log
If you'd like to have an on the nose weekly block to see throughout your day-to-day, you can put that here as well. No need to assign it a whole page in advance.
Simplest way is basically copy & pasting that bit from you calendar in the Monthly Log. Day numbers and initials then your event / scheduled stuff next to it.
Tumblr media
Hope this was somewhat helpful =)
