This winter will be my moment I just know it. Diligent studying, regulated time on my phone, walks in the freezing cold, perfecting my skincare routine, wearing my hair curly, nourishing my body w the best foods, watching more critically acclaimed films, consuming more books, dainty gold jewelry, drinking lots more water, warm spicy perfumes, dark lip gloss, tights under miniskirts, wool sweaters, going out of my comfort zone a lot more, and just another massive growth spurt like the one I had last year around this time. I adore this time of year so much bc it always heralds a metamorphosis. I am so ready <3 <3 <3

What I need today to cope with the S2 ending #6
RN I don't give a s* about how will they resolve the problem of Second Coming. I don't care, really, if they find a big red button in the first five minutes of the show in a somewhere hidden backoffice with giant note: "Push this button to avert any kind of Armageddon" - and they do, I'm fine with it.
Then let's them have some angst, shouting and wall slamming - You left me! You chose Heaven! I wanted to protect you! No, *I* wanted to protect *you*! - then they fuck about it on screen at least 2 episodes long, then the rest of the time I want to see them arguing about why the walls of the cottage have to be painted to yellow (because it's pretty, obviously) and where is the best place for the plants.
Gimme.

i've had what feels like a year long art block and now i'm trying to get back on track. feel like super rusty but muscle memory is really a thing (apparently). i still can't find it in me to not roll my eyes at the result, although it looks alright and actually better than nothing stuff i did before. but its okay, i've always enjoyed the process more anyway :)

800th Post: A Reflection on Increments*
Some jobs offer increments. This one offered--well, quite the reverse, but at least it was in the warm and fairly easy to get the hang of. After a while he got into the rhythm of it, and started playing the private little quantity-surveying game that everyone plays in these circumstances. Let's see, he thought, I've done nearly a quarter, let's call it a third, so when I've done that corner by the hayrack it'll be more than half, call it five-eighths, which means three more wheelbarrow loads. ...It doesn't prove anything very much except that the awesome splendor of the universe is much easier to deal with if you think of it as a series of small chunks.
Terry Pratchett, Mort
*Here, Mort Sto Helit demonstrates the same incremental psychology in his stable work which all tumblr users have refined. When I first started this blog I thought I'd see if I could share 1,000 Pratchett quotes. Let's see, another two hundred posts will be a thousand posts. That's two hundred days, call it six months, which is only half of a year....

Here's a snippet from that child fic...
He latched onto Wind. Something about him--it wasn’t even that he was the Hero of Winds--was just… more familiar than anyone else. It was like... like they were brothers in their cores, like he had taken every step of his life with him, like their hearts and minds aligned, like they shared stories and lives. It was like they'd always known each other. It was hard to explain, how his spirit sang in familiarity to Wind's, but it was something he couldn’t help but latch onto.
Take it as you will

I don't talk much about Hiram and the Commissioner but since I played motr I picture them as old friends who fell out of touch after a while. They still have a common goal, and even though he's helping her with the railway as she helped him find a home back in the day, their personalities are just too different now. But they both went through a lot.
Maybe they should meet more often again and have a nice talk.
