Nurdles have a significant impact on the environment long before they are formed, as well. The vast majority of the plastics plants in the United States are located alongside communities of color, which are disproportionately impacted by industrial pollution. Those plants emit a toxic mixture of pollutants including ethylene oxide, styrene, and benzene; there are so many petrochemical plants located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans that the area has become known as “cancer alley.”

"The problem with recycling plastic lies not with the concept or process but with the material itself. The first problem is that there are thousands of different plastics, each with its own composition and characteristics"
...
"Another problem is that the reprocessing of plastic waste—when possible at all—is wasteful. Plastic is flammable, and the risk of fires at plastic-recycling facilities affects neighboring communities—many of which are located in low-income communities or communities of color."
...
"Yet another problem is that plastic recycling is simply not economical. Recycled plastic costs more than new plastic because collecting, sorting, transporting, and reprocessing plastic waste is exorbitantly expensive. The petrochemical industry is rapidly expanding, which will further lower the cost of new plastic.
"Despite this stark failure, the plastics industry has waged a decades-long campaign to perpetuate the myth that the material is recyclable. This campaign is reminiscent of the tobacco industry’s efforts to convince smokers that filtered cigarettes are healthier than unfiltered cigarettes."
...
"Consumers can put pressure on companies to stop filling store shelves with single-use plastics by not buying them and instead choosing reusables and products in better packaging. And we should all keep recycling our paper, boxes, cans, and glass, because that actually works."

Overcoming Unprecedented: A Call to Action for Defending Democracy
Dear Followers and Potential Clients,
I hope this post finds you and yours in good health and high spirits. Today, I write to you with a sense of urgency and a call to action. Our democracy, our rule of law, and our way of life are under threat, and it is imperative that we unite in the face of this unprecedented challenge. I invite you to join me on a journey of enlightenment and empowerment through my SubStack articles, aptly titled "Overcoming Unprecedented."
In the wake of the recent events surrounding former President Donald Trump, it has become abundantly clear that our democracy is at a crossroads. The incitement of an insurrection, the erosion of trust in our institutions, and the blatant disregard for the principles that our nation was built upon are all alarming signs of a system in crisis. How can a court acknowledge his role in inciting an insurrection, yet allow him to remain on the ballot in 2024? This contradiction demands our attention and action.
The Constitution, a document that has guided our nation for centuries, may at times be open to interpretation. However, when it comes to the threat posed by Trump and his followers, it is unequivocally clear. We cannot allow a man who has shown such disregard for our democracy to continue to hold power. It is our duty as citizens to hold our elected officials accountable and demand that they take action.
But this fight is not just about Trump. It is about the larger forces at play that have allowed him to rise to power and maintain a grip on our political landscape. It is about the corruption, manipulation, and deception that have infiltrated our institutions. It is about the fear that has silenced those who should be standing up for what is right. It is about the erosion of our values and the need to reclaim them.
Through my SubStack articles, I aim to shed light on these issues and provide a platform for meaningful dialogue and action. I will delve into the complexities of our democracy, the flaws in our legal system, and the importance of holding those in power accountable. Together, we will explore the path to overcoming this unprecedented challenge and ensuring a brighter future for our nation.
I invite you to join me on this journey of enlightenment and empowerment. Together, we can make a difference. Share my articles with your friends, family, and colleagues. Engage in conversations that challenge the status quo and demand accountability. Let us be the voice that speaks truth to power and paves the way for a stronger, more resilient democracy.
In closing, I want to remind you that we, the people, hold the power to shape our future. Just as karma has a way of catching up with those who have aided and comforted the threat to our democracy, we too have the power to hold them accountable. Let us stand together, united in our pursuit of justice, and overcome this unprecedented challenge.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to embarking on this journey with you.
Warm regards,
Tyrone Glover

It's ok that white autistic people aren't familiar with autistic people of color's experiences. That's not the problem.
The problem is how many white autistic people seem to think their experiences are universal, that they can speak for and over autistic people of color.
Being autistic doesn't take away white privilege. Being white and autistic still has privilege over autistic BIPOC, and even neurotypical BIPOC.
Neurodivergence doesn't exempt anyone from deconstructing and unpacking white supremacy.
