─────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───────
The streets of Diagon Alley were usually bustling with young students doing some early shopping for the new school year. Spellbound Sips was the busiest cafe on the street, receiving a constant flow of older Hogwarts students and their exhausted parents after a long day of shopping. Being the owner, you came in contact with hundreds of people a day, and yet you were still able to remember your regular customers. Your personal favourite new addition to your list of regulars was a tall, quiet boy named Remus.
Remus didn’t speak much, but he came in every morning for a butterbeer latte and a pumpkin pasty. He occasionally made small talk, asking about your day while you took his order, but nothing more.
Remus would stay in the cafe everyday for at least an hour, sipping slowly on his latte while he remained nose deep into a different book. You couldn’t help but find him oddly charming. He was so calm and polite, and he always cleaned up his table before he left. He was anyone's dream customer, always minding his business while being well mannered at the same time. If there was ever someone in need of a seat, he was the first to offer the empty one across from him, and if there weren’t enough tables for a family, he would pack up his things and insist that they take his table.
It was a quiet evening, as it was storming outside and most people had retreated to the comfort of their own homes. The cafe was quiet for once, but it wasn’t empty. Remus was sitting at his spot by the window, deeply focused on the book he was reading about Defense against the Dark Arts.
You were standing behind the counter, wiping it down for the tenth time to stall closing so you wouldn’t have to kick him out. You had already spent way too much time recounting your earnings for the day, and had even turned your sign to the Closed side. Remus, on the other hand, was in his own world, not noticing a single thing.
Eventually, you reached thirty minutes past your closing time, and you had spent all thirty minutes talking yourself up to go and politely remind him of the time. You sighed, approaching him and tapping his shoulder lightly.
Remus jumped, turning his head to look at you. “Merlin, you scared me.”
“Sorry!” You stepped back awkwardly.
“Oh no, it’s nothing to apologize for. Is there something you need?” He inquired, putting his bookmark in and shutting the book.
“Actually…well, it’s nine-thirty. I was kind of supposed to close at nine, but I didn’t want to disturb you.”
Remus looked mortified. “... I am so sorry, L/n. I must have lost track of time. I’ll get out of your hair now.” He swiftly packed his things back into his bag, standing up. “Let me tip you extra as an apology.”
“Oh no, really that isn’t necessary. And honestly it was no trouble. You just seemed so focused and I didn’t want to interfere.” You took his empty mug from the table, going back behind the counter to put it in the sink. You pulled out your wand, swishing it and casting a non-verbal spell that caused the sponge to start scrubbing it clean.
“I insist. It’s the least I can do for taking up so much of your time.” He pulled out his wallet, his hand hovering over the four house-themed tip jars on the counter before placing a Galleon in the Gryffindor jar. Before you could protest, Remus spoke again. “Please, accept it. It’s in the jar now anyway. And honestly it’s the least I could do.”
You sighed in defeat, smiling at the man. “Thank you. I really appreciate it.”
“Don’t mention it.” He smiled back at you. “I should be going now. Thank you for your time. Have a good night.”
“You too.” You watched as Remus headed for the door, pulling his umbrella out of his bag. He exited the cafe, opening the umbrella and making his way down the street.
─────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───────
Shortly after Remus left, you were able to lock up for the night. You had searched everywhere for an umbrella, ultimately finding nothing. “Great.” You mumbled, locking the front door. You had barely been outside for ten seconds and you were practically drenched.
The location of your cafe had come with a long list of both pros and cons. One of the downsides was that apparition was prohibited to prevent accidents on the busy strip. Your cafe also did not come with a fireplace, so you were unable to use the Floo Network to get in and out either. Most shops had already closed for the night, so you wouldn’t find any luck searching for the nearest fireplace anyway. This left you with no other option but to walk all the way back to The Leaky Cauldron to get out of Diagon Alley.
You cursed, beginning to speed walk down the street. You were squinting from the droplets of rain rolling on your face, which made it quite difficult to see where you were going. Luckily, the street was completely empty.
Well, that was until a door swung open in front of you, and a familiar face exited Flourish and Blotts. Remus reopened his umbrella, only to be startled by your presence yet again.
“L/n! You really have to stop sneaking up on me like that.” He chuckled, before looking you up and down. “Oh dear, you’re soaked. I assume you’re also heading back to The Leaky Cauldron?” He held the umbrella over your head as he spoke.
“I am.” You nodded, pushing wet strands of hair out of your face.
“You’ll catch a cold. Walk with me?” He offered you a warm smile.
“Alright. Thank you, Lupin.”
“Please, call me Remus.” He began walking, standing close to your side so that you could share the shelter of the umbrella.
“Then you can call me Y/n.”
“Very well, Y/n.”
You felt butterflies when he said your name. How are you only now noticing how handsome he is?
You cleared your throat, deciding that small talk was the best way to calm your nerves. “I see that you read a lot. You have a different book in your hands everyday.”
“You’ve noticed that?” He asked curiously.
Your mission to calm your nerves had crashed and burned. You were now even more flustered than before. “Well, I…yes, I have. I was just wondering, since they’re all different books but they have the same subject.”
“Yes, they do.” He slowed down his walking pace to match yours, but also to allow more time to speak with you. “I’m studying to become a professor at Hogwarts, actually.”
“A Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?” You inquired.
“Indeed. I’ve always been interested in the subject, and I find that I am good at teaching. I practically taught the entire class to Sirius, anyway.” He chuckled.
“Sirius Black? I remember him from school. He took me out on a date to Hogsmeade in sixth year.”
“Yes, well, it seems as though Sirius has somehow known every girl on the continent in some way or another.”
“At least I didn’t get my hopes up that it would be a long lasting relationship like his other poor victims.”
He laughed at your comment. “A wise decision.”
For the remainder of the walk, the two of you chatted about life at Hogwarts and all of the pranks that you could recall the Marauders pulling. Soon enough, you had reached your destination. As you entered the pub, Remus turned to you.
“...Would you like to have a drink, Y/n? Perhaps we can wait for the rain to calm down a bit. And I’d like to continue our chat.”
You nodded without question, taking a seat at an empty table. Remus sat across from you, placing his bag down on the floor by his feet.
“You know, I do have a confession to make.”
“Oh? What’s that?” You inquired, placing an elbow on the table and leaning your chin onto your hand.
“Well…” He began, clasping his hands on the table nervously.
“I do love the coffee and the pastries at Spellbound Sips, so don’t get me wrong. But I may have other reasons for visiting every day.” He admitted, looking at you with a timid expression.
“What do you mean?”
“Every day I enter the cafe with hopes of having the courage to ask you on a date, but then I overthink it and I back out. I’ve even wasted a bottle of Felix Felicis one afternoon, because after I drank it I decided that you would’ve been too busy to chat and decided to just stay home instead. And in this moment it seems stupid that I was so nervous because you’re wonderful and kind and we’re getting along just fine, aren’t we? Well, I suppose that you being so wonderful is what made me so scared in the first place, because I didn’t think that you would be interested in someone like me, but-“
You cut his rambling off by placing a hand on top of his, smiling coyly at him. “Remus, I would love to go on a date with you. Well, I guess we’re already on one now, aren’t we?”
“…Right.” He sighed in relief, laughing sheepishly. “Though I do think that I should ask you properly, now. So, Y/n, would you like to go on a date with me? Not just now, but perhaps another time, when we aren’t wet and shivering?”

Loving Lily in autumn ; a headcanon
Tumblr media
-> pairing; Lily Evans x fem!reader
-> warnings; some fluff <3
-> a/n; hi loves! a cute little headcanon this time since i love autumn but still can’t seem to write an actual fic. i love this little red head so i thought i could make the first Loving - in - headcanon about her. enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lily makes you a pumpkin spice latte anytime you want, loving how it makes you smile and the foam seems to always find a way to land on top of your nose.
As the leaves turn red and the cardigans come out of the closet, she has a box of your favourite cardigans of hers standing next to her bed. So every time you leave the dorm you can easily grab one of them.
Lily organises a yearly pumpkin carving contest with Alice for your whole year since second year. Her love for halloween and autumn started quite early. She gets all the snacks you like for the affair so you can have a perfect setting to win in.
You bake cinnamon rolls together. Getting flour all over each other and kissing fingers, licking dough off of them.
And every weekend there’s a themed reading date night since you both love reading and being together, even if it’s just in silence. With warm fuzzy blankets, fluffed pillows and of course Lil’s home made pumpkin spice. Lily listens as you rant about what ever happened in your book this time and hooks your pinkies together as you slowly fall asleep and she keeps reading.
For halloween you have matching costumes, naturally. Going as sexy Freddie and Roger Taylor was the favourite so far. Sirius especially LOVED the couple costume.
Lily also took up the hobby of knitting and gave you every scarf she knit. Red, green and brown sweaters started to pile up in your closet.
Together you decorate the dorm you share with Alice and Marlene. Magical ivy growing all over your walls and fake cob webs hiding in the corners of the room. Fairy lights hung over your beds and pumpkins scattered around with funny faces.
Your favourite red head loves to take you out on strolls to Hogsmeade whenever she can and bring a steaming cup of hot choco along, give you sweet kisses while window shopping and drinking butterbeer together with the marauders and girls in The Three Broomsticks.
And when it’s too cold and stormy to go outside, she sits you down in her bed and fiddles with your hair as she reads Emma to you and the both of you talk about your biggest dreams and deepest fears, eventually both falling asleep in the comfort of fairy lights and the sound of rain ticking against the old window.

I work at a coffee shop and have the freedom to make different drinks and experiment and I want to make up different drinks for characters. Right now my Butterbeer inspired drink is a Caramel and Toffee latte with Caramel drizzle and toffee/caramel cold foam on top. It's the closest I can get to a butterscotch/buttery flavor and it is SO good.

Top 5 hot beverages
oh MAN, did you know I don't actually like hot beverage most of the time? So this is actually a fun question to answer.
Hot Apple Cider. Add some whipped cream and a little caramel? S-tier.
Hot Cocoa. Better if there are flavors with it - gingerbread #1, peppermint a close second.
London Fog Latte. It's Earl Grey tea with steamed (soy)milk and vanilla. A+.
Mystic Dragon Green Tea.
Butterbeer.

Ok I have tried hot and cold Butterbeers, and I have to say my favorite is the hot, it’s a warm butterscotch latte and I’m completely here for it.
If you are so inclined in the bar you can add a shot of cinnamon whisky and it’s quite nice 😁

i tried that hot butterbeer and can i just say that shit is vile. usually when i drink a latte kind of drink i welcome the juxtaposition of cool whip topping over hot drink; the juxtaposition in temperatures provide a buffer against scalding drink and the whip softens the bitter coffee. but here, the custardy, steadily curdling dairy topping sharply morphing into the hot but otherwise identity-void liquid butterscotch underneath……… truly a loathsome concoction. spent the day seesawing between shitting my guts out or praying to just vomit out that foul poison in spite of otherwise eating nothing. strange rotten taste in the back of my throat that just wouldn’t go away. for sure im gonna wake up w calcified tonsils tomorrow

Harry Potter Themed Vacation in L.A.
I like when I can have a vacation with a theme. Here is a suggested Harry Potter-themed itinerary for a three day trip to Los Angeles:
Day 1:
Start your day with a visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood. Here you can explore Hogsmeade, ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and try Butterbeer.
In the afternoon, visit the Harry Potter Prop Museum in Burbank. This museum displays authentic Harry Potter props, costumes, and sets from the movies.
End the day with dinner at The Hobbit restaurant in Burbank. This restaurant is inspired by the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series and has a unique, fantasy-themed atmosphere.
Day 2:
Start your day with a Harry Potter-themed tour of Los Angeles. There are several companies that offer these tours, which typically include visits to locations used in the Harry Potter movies, such as Griffith Park (the entrance to the Forbidden Forest) and the Warner Bros. Studios (where the movies were filmed).
In the afternoon, visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The LACMA has a Harry Potter costume exhibit, which features costumes from all eight Harry Potter movies.
End the day with a visit to the Wizard's Brew coffee shop in North Hollywood. This Harry Potter-themed coffee shop serves drinks inspired by the books and movies, such as the "Polyjuice Potion" and the "Butterbeer Latte."
Day 3:
Start your day with a visit to the Harry Potter Bookstore in West Hollywood. This store specializes in all things Harry Potter and has a wide selection of books, merchandise, and collectibles.
In the afternoon, visit the Harry Potter Wand Shop in Hollywood. This store sells handmade, authentic replica Harry Potter wands.
End the day with a Harry Potter trivia night at a local pub or restaurant. Many pubs and restaurants in Los Angeles host Harry Potter trivia nights, where you can test your knowledge of the series and compete against other fans.
I hope you have a great time on your Harry Potter vacation in Los Angeles!
