How can we help? - Unfortunately, my bane in life is to house more fic ideas in my head than I actually ever have a reasonable amount of time to write and to have crippling adhd caused executive dysfunction, which can truly only be fixed by Earth changing to a day cycle longer than 24 hours and absolutely using body doubles in any form I can take those. The first problem truly can't be fixed by mortal men unfortunately, but for the second honestly me just hanging around with other writers or seeing other writers work on things too helps to work as a body double for my brain a lot of the time. So honestly, just hanging in the server itself and following the tumblr should be plenty of help.

How I feel about this character

The straight one! I think he's fun enough. I would admit to probably being more invested in Aiden because of his relationships with Lydia, Ethan and Deucalion. I think they tried to give him a redemption arc but it didn't hit as well as his brother's.

Ethan. I really do love their relationship with each other.

Really just more time. There's just not as much to him as I would like. The bits where Lydia is "you're a *bad* guy" are just so tantalizing to me.

He's my favorite of these twins. I like that he seems to have a relationship with Boyd and Isaac. I also think he's the slightly more inclined to good of the two and love how he deals with Scott in Motel California. I adore his relationship with Danny, too.

CHILUMI (CHILDE X LUMINE - GENSHIN IMPACT)

This ship gets way too much hate, most ppl saying it's pedophilia but lumine and aethers ages are confirmed to be over 500 years if it were pedophilia i think Childe would be the victim lmfao. They are literally so cute they have the enemies to lovers cliché which is basic but I love it. This ship is also so good for angsty fanarts and fics.

XIAOVEN (XIAO X VENTI - GENSHIN IMPACT)

To be fair I haven't been indulging in this ship in a while but it's gotta be my favorite Venti or Xiao ship. This ship is also extremely viable with angst. This is ship is so innocent too I love it 💕

RENGA (REKI X LANGA - SK8 THE INFINITY)

Im pretty sure the ENTIRE sk8 fandom ships this lmao. They're just perfect for each other. They complete each other. Gay skater boys what more could i say

IZUOCHA (IZUKU X OCHACO - MY HERO ACADEMIA)

Well they're canon so like i gotta ship it. Deku's flustered moments are so amusing to watch imo. I literally rewatch everytime uraraka gets jealous bc deku is literally surrounded by other girls for no reason. They're friendship is also adorable i might even be ok if they didn't up being confirmed canon relationship.

BAKUDEKU (KATSUKI X IZUKU - MY HERO ACADEMIA)

In comes the toxicity??? Idk I'm still kinda new to the BnHA fandom but ik the fandom is super toxic abt bkdk vs izuocha or just ships in general. But how could I NOT ship this??? As a multishipper i feel obligated to ship anything that works and is cute. I don't even know which deku ship i like better, it's the same as how i can't choose who my favorite character is (bakugo or todoroki??) But yeah bkdk dynamic is like friends to enemies to friends to lovers or something even more complicated lmao. Idk why but I see a lot of fics and edits that are like angsty?? Like deku likes kacchan but kacchan likes Kiri (｡•́︿•̀｡) or baku likes deku but deku is looking at uraraka (ᗒᗩᗕ)

XIAOLUMI (XIAO X LUMINE - GENSHIN IMPACT)

Tbh this isn't rlly an OTP anymore but it used to be. Like a year ago. The ship is still super cute tho Xiao is protective but not in a possessive way like Childe whos a possessive yandere and will personally chop you into pieces if you so much as look at her for a second too long... Why am I making this abt chilumi now NO. The traveler is the only one Xiao opens up to which is cute, traveler is the only "mortal" he responds to.

TODOMOMO (SHOTO X MOMO - MY HERO ACADEMIA)

Idk they're just cute yk. They have the rich power couple vibes, they both got into UA through recommendations. They are literally each other's biggest fans and of all todoroki or yaomomo ships this makes the most sense.

GIYUSHINO (GIYU X SHINOBU - DEMON SLAYER)

Not really an OTP but they are cute. I think I might ship it more if i didn't know how things end up with shinobu. It's cute when shinobu teases tomioka and tomioka is just so clueless abt everything i love giyu i ship giyu x me /j

TANKANA (TANJIRO X KANAO - DEMON SLAYER)

There isn't that much canon content fueling this ship but I always have the fanarts which make me ship everything even more... i didn't finish the manga but I do know that it's implied that they end up together and have grandchildren, but that last episode from season one Kanao was totally feeling something prove me wrong. Kanao reminds me of myself.. docile :(

Also do ppl actually ship tanjiro with rengoku that's kinda... Pedophilia and weird even if it wasn't....

XINGYUN (XINGQIU X CHONGYUN - GENSHIN IMPACT)

They are so babie. They have such a cute friendship that im ok with a romantic or platonic ship between them. They are undoubtedly the cutest most innocent ship in genshin if you ignore the fanarts about yandere Xingqiu hahaha....ha...

tokotsuyu i feel is pretty adorable. they are somewhat opposites in the way they present themselves, but are similar in an intriguing sort of way. however, they get a lot more interaction with others, and i don’t really think that tokoyami is much of a relationship person

togaocha is pretty nice, but they just dont get enough interaction (as far as i’ve watched). in an au if they had more one-on-one interaction, i think it could have happened

bakugou x most guys are iffy (besides kiribaku), ex. baku/kami i can maybe get behind but bakudeku is a NO. also i headcanon him as pan and demisexual but i cant see him with one of the girls

todomomo are THE gay/lesbian power friends. they’re also rich bitches. they definitely have sleepovers (momo does todo’s nails) and simp over their respective crushes

todobaku are the OP quirk duo. shouto gives no shits, which irritates bakugou, which is extremely satisfying to shouto. i could see them having some sort of romantic tension, but no more than that

kamijirou are just friends. this is a very unpopular opinion, but after jirou sets some boundaries, i feel that they just hang out a lot. theyre also music buddies

13. Most Shippable Character

I honestly am not sure about this one. I'd probably say Raven Reyes on first instinct, I guess? Like she could have been paired with pretty much anyone on the show and I would have liked it, she had great chemistry with everyone and her dynamics were always really well done, even if the show probably didn't actually put any effort into them? And honestly each season they put her with different characters and the dynamics were always shippable, Raven and Jasper, Raven and Luna (augh sea mechanic!! my beloved), Raven and Bellamy, Raven and Emori, Raven and Murphy, Raven and Echo, Raven and Zeke, they all really worked and could have been romantic easily! But at the same time, I think that comes more from Raven being an easy favourite and never getting a good love interest that stuck around. By the end I only wanted her to be with Zeke, because they worked and they were such a good pairing, but they killed him off so she ended up alone, and honestly... I'm fine with that considering there were like 8 people left alive at the end. Other than that I can't really think of any? I'm not NOT a multishipper, but i usually find pairings i like and stick to them.

Though I will say I've been watching Ragnarok and basically anyone could get with Fjor at this point and I'd be into it.

19. Ship that you never expected to ship

This one is easy lol, Becho! Going into S5 of t100 I was a hardcore bellarke shipper. I knew the show was going to either do Braven or Becho (i was pretty sure it was gonna be becho but w/e) and honestly i was kind of dreading it, partly because I wanted Bellarke to happen (lol imagine... im almost embarrassed tbh) and partly because i was worried the show was going to basically relive the finn/raven/clarke plot all over again and have it be a situation where the guy chooses Clarke over their long term girlfriend AGAIN and i was NOT here for that. But then... it worked? They didn't go that same route that they took in s1, they actually created an established, loving, supportive relationship and gave it the space to breath and find its footing. They loved each other, there was no question about that, which I think is a huge part of why Bellarke shippers lost their fucking marbles over Becho, because it wasn't framed as a fling, or a merely physical relationship, or a consolation prize for not having Clarke around, it was framed as a real, loving, committed mature relationship that had been hard earned through time and patience, growing into people who loved each other. And let me tell you, that shit works for me. I was already enjoying it a lot more than I expected too and then they dropped 506 and i was done for. It ended up being one of my favourite ships on the show, and it'll be an otp for me forever probably, which is in part because it was awesome and great and also because i never watched the absolute trash fire that is s6 and s7 aside from a couple becho and memori moments.

i hate the idea that like "wei wuxian was completely in the right and has done nothing wrong in his life ever" no thats so not true he did do wrong stuff he fucked up a lot but honestly i think thats part of the whole point that almost EVERY CHARACTER in the fucking series has fucked up in some way big or small even lan wangji like we talk about how sad and romantic everything he did was and, yeah it is, but it was also not great he did actively harm maybe even kill some of his own clan members and other cultivators at the battle of the nightless city like yes he did it to protect wei wuxian but he still fucked up you cant really call the clans in the wrong either as most of them were manipulated or mistaken wei wuxian as a threat to their lives idk idk im just like no these are not your pure harmless baby angels theyre grown ass men who have done the murder

(and no im not gonna use past tense it hurts too much) what part of this is hard to understand???? like ive seen ppl get pressed when someone ships a canonically gay character with someone of the opposite sex (and i get that it's because they feel they're trying to "normalise" them by making them straight) so why do ppl do the same with straight characters?

Aw, anon, I feel you on the xuanli shipping but a) I think you’ve come to the wrong place because I’m also plenty fond of Yanli/Wen Qing (qingli? yanqing? i’m a multishipper and i can’t help myself) and b) there’s a pretty big difference between depicting or imagining characters who have canonically been in relationships with and experienced attraction to members of the opposite sex in queer relationships and portraying gay characters in relationships with people of the opposite sex. For one thing, there’s nothing in canon that tells us Yanli isn’t a bi woman who just happens to be in a relationship with a dude in canon. Shipping her with Wen Qing isn’t actually any different from shipping her with Mingjue or Xichen. People are sometimes going to look at a canon ship and be like “but what if” no matter how good that ship is.

More importantly, there’s a lot of baggage surrounding the depiction of queer people in media that is pretty directly and unpleasantly related to the fact that many straight people still think that a) we shouldn’t exist and b) they have a right to pretend we don’t that is being violated every time we hold hands in public or write ourselves into stories or their fellow straight people, looking at the world around them and then seeking to depict that world in their art, include us rather than airbrushing us out for their convenience. Writing gay characters as straight isn’t bad because it normalizes the character, it’s bad because it contributes to a homophobic culture that tells queer people, and gay and lesbian people in particular, that their existence is somewhere between evil and an imposition, and they’re abnormal or depraved or just going through a phase and one day they’ll meet the right person and settle down to live heterosexually ever after.

There is a tendency in fandom to declare that female characters who, in canon, are depicted as being in love with or attracted to men are lesbians, and I am very sympathetic to the generalized exhaustion with he was a boy/she was a girl relationships, compulsory heterosexuality, and the general lack of lesbian representation that I think underlies a lot of that impulse. I personally am basically always exhausted by comphet and want more queer women of all kinds in everything. I am nevertheless also occasionally a little frustrated with what sometimes feels less like a desire for more lesbian content and more an excuse to sideline female characters and declare shipping them with popular male characters off limits. I also get being frustrated by being told that a relationship you really like and enjoy and has lots of canon support is somehow bad or invalid. I fully support you in going forth with a xuanli OTP and refusing to consider any other options and being lowkey irritated that other people do not see the truth and the beauty and the light! But people who ship Yanli and Wen Qing are not doing anything wrong.

#in the same way if you're doing a reboot or a re-imagining of an older property #changing things up so that previously straight white male characters #are queer or women or poc #or all three! is generally considered somewhere between nice and essential #but straightwashing and whitewashing are widely considered shitty #and being like i know what would improve this story... fewer women is also considered shitty #writing gay characters as straight is shitty #and writing gay characters as bi is how shall we say #inordinately fraught and likely to be hurtful to gay people #not because being bi is bad or less queer than being gay or a lesbian #but because a lot of people have been really badly harmed by homophobic narratives about how they just have to meet to right man or woman #and rewriting a bi character to be gay is going to make bi people who have experienced biphobia and bi erasure feel like shit!#and just to further complicate everything and make me think i probably shoulda left this ask in my inbox it's actually very common irl for #people to use different labels at different times in their life and plenty of people do identify one way or the other and then go huh #and many characters do not explicitly say or exist in a time and place where our labels would not apply and they would not think of #themselves as gay or bi anyway! and then we all get to form a circular cancelling squad about it #but at no point is writing a character who has experienced opposite sex attraction or identified as straight as #something other than a kinsey 0 going to hurt straight people the way straightwashing hurts #queer people #irl obviously respect how people identify regardless that's just manners #but characters only have the feelings or opinions we give them

oh backstory. definitely backstory. oK THIS MIGHT BE AN UNPOPULAR OPINION but i kind of didnt really like how his backstory was revealed and things. i think this was also the time i was kind of dropping off from bnha so the added disappointment kind of...just fuelled me to be even less invested.

um, im actually trying to remember what it exactly was but tbh i cant. i remember not liking some of his lines and just...the way he was framed sometimes. i think it might have been this glamorisation of enji at points—but im not too sure now bc i cant remember what i was thinking, only what i felt in those moments. soz </3

1. What was your first OTP? My first otp was probablyyyyyyy gray from fairy tail x myself. I started as a self shipper and I wrote a bunch of fanfiction when i was 12. I’ve always been a multishipper at heart really, but theres very few ships i was VERY invested in, and that was the first. (im still not over him tho honestly like daaaaamn)

4. What is/are your favorite trope(s)?

i really enjoy angst with a happy ending and some good old mutual pining but to dumbass levels of extreme (we are making out but like only as friends). And like,,, i know this is Problematic TM but like,,,, yandere tropes.

6. Do you have a certain kind of ship you’re more attracted to?

its hard to say. Every ship has their own flair to it, but i really just enjoy good old friends to lovers. Its the way i approach love so its much more personal, and as much as i adore marinette and will defend her to the end, i reallllly cant stand the stuttery shy thing if its drawn out too long. I like when they’re comfortable around each other (almost overly comfortable, bordering on romantic). Only time when i really absolutely enjoy the nervous cant look-them-in-the-eye-thing is after they have been friends for years and then person A suddenly realizes they’re in love with person B and cant stop from getting nervous and antsy when they’re around.

Reading this it made me curious on if if there's a specific relationship you are planning to, I guess the phrase im looking for is "set in stone". Is cassunzel remaining unrequited? more generally - one thing that rly interests me as a writer is examining how feelings can change or evolve or grow over time within a relationship, whether platonic or romantic; i think this is a big part of the reason why i’m not really a shipper in either the “this is my otp” OR the “this is my stable of ships that i like bc i’m a multishipper” sense. because what really interests me is the like… progression into, and out of, romantic feelings and the messiness of moving on or finding someone new or whatever, if that makes sense; ie if i have multiple ships that i like for a given character my tendency isn’t to go well i ship both, it’s to tell a story about the evolution of those relationships in the context of a singular narrative. and i like exploring crushes that don’t last / infatuation that fades vs love that is built / people who fall in love but actually work better as friends / messy overlapping unrequited or partly or complicatedly requited feelings / other dynamics like that. [it’s occurring to me as i type this that i have written a love triangle and AHDJDFXGSH]

i don’t know if that distinction makes sense alfkfjskf but yeah

so cass had a crush on rapunzel in benighted that largely was not returned and which she is sort of still nursing now but it’s being eroded by the current mess with rapunzel and also by the fact that moira is very blatantly flirting with cass and it’s making the gay sirens go off in cassandra’s head; and meanwhile rapunzel is, like i mentioned before, coming down from a magically-induced obsession with cass and that is mixing with her actual, genuine love for cass to produce a really intense crush that she is not able to identify as a crush; which means that the romantic feelings are technically sort of requited right *now* but cass is on a trajectory out of those feelings while rapunzel is in the thick of them still. and then there’s caine who is just. like. very much flirting with intent akdkgjdkd

and then things continue to evolve from there ☺️

what i like: ok i love how sweet he is...he genuinely cares about all his friends and wants to make them feel better and will sacrifice himself for them (which is NOT good but) and that’s super admirable

what i don't like: i DON’T like his need to self-sacrifice and his way of going against all of his friend’s wishes (WHICH I GET IS A THING INVOLVED WITH HIS TRAUMA LIKE I GET IT IM KIND OF THE SAME WAY BUT IT DOES get kind of annoying) i still love him though

How I feel about this character

Lol i actually really like Connie, tho i know a few stevinel shippers who don’t, which is understandable. Personally, i related to Connie in early seasons, escaping into fiction from overly strict and controlling parents hit deep, and all her expectations she had to deal with bruh i loved her So Much. then she learned to swordfight and became an epic badass and i just loved her even more (and i ship connverse too bc CUTE and also why limit myself lol)

But idk, as the seasons progressed she seems a bit more diluted and distant from steven to me. But in honesty, i see it more as Connie growing in a different direction than Steven bc of her stronger connection with earth culture and can't fault her for it

in fact even tho it broke my heart i was Super proud of Connie for telling steven to wait when he asked her to marry him bc idk i think ppl forget Connie is like 14/15. She's even younger than steven to consider such a commitment when shes still discovering herself and shouldn't have to be stevens “missing piece” or his reward/prize for when he starts getting help

Lol please see: Connie deserves to be more than steven’s prize/savior. I think suf is handling pretty well right now tbh, even though i was upset that Connie left to study when it was clear that Steven wasn't okay. But honestly, I have mixed feelings bc it is up to steven to be honest about how he's feeling and not make the people around him try and guess, even though i do understand his desire to not let anyone know.

its not that the ppl around him don't care/notice, its just that they trust him to be telling the truth when he says he's okay. And he's not!! Arghghghghgh the ANGST

So, on one hand, I get why she left (that had been so unexpected/hard/scary/awkward for her too) and she DID need to study and they probably both needed time apart (my mans cried in a ditch all night) but on the other I'm like CONNIE, studying can wait another hour gotdamn lmfao
