"Who are you?"

"Hm? What do you mean?"

"Your breathing shifted just now."

A low chuckle rumbled through his chest. That was how he always responded when you asked him that. Was it because you knew him so well? Or were you just anxious? Maybe it was a mixture of both. Either way, it was something you didn't want to admit aloud.

Not to yourself. Not to him.

"Does it matter?" he asked.

Of course it mattered!

You didn't respond, determined to get your answer first.

He flashed you a mischievous grin, a bit of his silver fringe falling along the bridge of his nose. "Why don't you guess?"

You felt your lips pulling into a pout, mustering what patience you had to not smack his bare chest with all the strength you could manage this late in the night. Even in the low light, he must have seen the disapproving look you were giving him. Lifting one hand up, he lightly poked your forehead and you whined at being teased. You knew he did this to get a rise out of you. He also knew how important it was for him to give you an answer.

It bothered you how much he always dragged his feet on this matter. The more logical side always reminded you to have patience. This was his own personal game that he liked to play with you. Sometimes he would win. Sometimes you did.

No one was really keeping score anymore.

You didn't want to guess. You didn't feel like playing this game tonight. To showcase your intent, you roughly pulled from his side and flipped over on the bed to turn your back to him. This must have surprised him because he didn't start laughing at your reaction. In fact, the bed was absolutely still - your breaths barely audible in the dark.

Warmth touched the flare of your hip as he placed his hand there. You tried not to relish in his touch, but it was difficult. After everything you'd gone through to get to this moment, it was only self-inflicted pain to ignore him. Part of you knew to stand your ground. The other part was willing to give in to his advances.

Because you loved him so much. Because you loved all of him…so much.

“Hey,” he called softly, reaching over your stomach and pulling you close to his body, “remember when we first met? At that bar in that one town?”

You bit back a scoff. Like you could forget. He never made it easy for you to, even if you wanted to.

You kept silent, not wanting to cater to his need to hear your voice. To hear how, even now, you found yourself in an endless loop of falling in love with him each and every single day. To him, you were a lifeline for survival. To you, he was the reason you pushed through your tiresome work week.

The bar was crowded that night. It was an average Friday evening. You were out with friends, hitting the town and it was the third bar on the stop of your group’s infamous “bar hops”. Nothing was special about that night. It was just the end of another long work week for you. Another end of being a faceless number down a long hall of cramped cubicles and endless phone calls. A moment’s reprieve from jittering printers and raucous fax machines.

Two days of escape from being a nameless paper pusher in a seemingly endless cycle of meaningless.

He walked through the doors with his entourage - exuding purpose and power. They were celebrating another successful performance and chatter about said performance was the first thing you heard as they burst through the door. You watched him go straight up to the bar and buy it out, saying everyone’s drinks for the rest of the night were on him.

You envied his smile. You envied his “can do” attitude that dripped from every square inch of his body.

But it was his freedom that made you jealous the most.

You weren’t wearing anything particularly fancy that night. A pair of acid washed jeans stuffed in combat boots, a loose sweatshirt that hung off one shoulder. Hell, even your hair was in a messy up-do. After all, you weren’t looking for an easy score that night. Your plans to get laid were the furthest thing from your mind.

Yet there was no mistaking the way he zeroed in on you. Out of all the patrons in the bar, you were the one he decided to nail his focus to. You were the one who somehow managed to get his attention.

So, what should have been a night of blissfully getting toasted with your friends turned into something much different.

Feeling his lips against the nape of your neck, you felt your breath hitch slightly as his mouth moved to speak. “I asked you what you were doing for the rest of your life.”

You couldn’t stop the laugh that burst from your chest, causing you to curl up into a ball as you covered your mouth. It was one of the most absurd questions you’d ever been asked. Who even asked something like that in this day and age? What you were doing tomorrow? Sure. What you were doing next weekend? Of course.

The rest of your life, however, held a different weight altogether.

“I don’t even know what I’m doing tonight,” came your amused reply as you lowered your hands from your face. You still refused to look at him. “That’s what I said.”

The memories were flooding in quickly. His looks. The low dulcet sound of his voice. Even the cute little lisp he had when he spoke excitedly about something. His hair was a different color back then; jet black with an undercut.

Everything changed in that one conversation.

Despite his big spending at the bar, you knew he wasn’t well off. Not yet. But he had big dreams. He had drive. Money didn’t grow on trees and his dream would yield fruit if it prospered. Music, however, was such a shaky basket to throw all of your eggs into. But his passion and determination made you believe that he was telling the truth; that nothing would stop him from succeeding. He was determined and there was a small part of you that wished for his success. Somebody needed to grow wings and fly.

But the conversation didn’t take long to reverse back to you. On to your current occupation and your overall distaste with how things were going in your own life. It was a dead end road. You knew this. Somewhere along the way, you even accepted it. Some people were paper pushers and others were the stars that people could admire from afar. You had no place in that world. Your meager complaints and tiny goals could hardly hold a candle to the strength of his burning ambition.

That’s what you believed in the beginning.

You should’ve known better.

After his friends and yours all got together to finish the bar hop for the night, your groups eventually wound up near the outskirts of town at a park. The drinking, laughter and flirting continued. He was never far from your side and neither were you from his. Sometime in the wee hours of the morning, his hand found its way into yours, holding it close. Your lips touched soon after and it was a magical moment.

That was the beginning of the end for you.

Days rolled into weeks. Weeks into months. You looked forward to the weekends not to escape the dreary worklife you found yourself trapped in, but to see his performances in underground venues and fringe shows. The energy he exuded from the stage was intoxicating and the cheers from the crowd as he pumped them up was contagious. It only took a few shows and you were screaming and hopping around like an idiot like the rest of them.

Afterward, your groups would meet again to drink and celebrate in the success of the show. It wasn’t embarrassing for you all to run through the streets, screaming and shouting as the thrill of the night cloaked you from head to toe. Bottles of beers in your hands, you ran through crowds and stumbled down stairs in hopes of catching the last train home. You both cuddled in a drunken haze together as everyone talked all over one another - wrapped up in their own conversations.

It was only then that it became apparent that the person you were slowly falling for had two personas. One for the stage and one for when it was just the two of you. Sometimes they bled into one another. Sometimes they were kept far apart from each other.

Agust D and Min Yoongi.

As his success continued to build, your anxiety mounted - worrying about where your place was in his life. More months passed and the venues started to change. You knew there was a chance you wouldn’t be able to go to a performance because it was in the middle of the work week. Or maybe it was too far for you to travel. You couldn’t risk taking off of work for something “trivial” like a concert performance. That’s what your managers would say. They would belittle you for inconveniencing the rest of your co-workers.

You had an image to maintain.

When he showed up on stage with silver hair, you knew that it was time. Agust D was rising to a level of stardom you wouldn’t be able to compete with. Fans cheered and remained loyal. Fans who were willing to drop any plans they had to hit the road and support their idol. They’d been around far longer than you had; had been cheering for him during a time when you didn’t even know he existed.

It was the life he’d chosen; one you knew was going to take wing.

How were you supposed to stay close beside him? How were you going to continue to nurture this thing that existed between you both?

Feeling his arms wrap around your bare stomach, he pulled you even closer. You could feel his heartbeat slowly bumping against your shoulder blades. Yoongi pressed a kiss behind your ear, one of your weak spots, before allowing his tongue to glide along the curve of your jaw. You resisted the urge to moan at how he made you feel, both in that moment and every moment before now.

“I never regretted the day that I called you mine…”

You felt tears welling up in your eyes, blurring your vision. Part of you wanted to curse him for his words. For his way with words. But that was how he always was. On the stage or off, it didn’t matter. It was his answer for any worry that threatened to smother you into a dark pit of no return.

Slowly, you turned in his arms. Yoongi’s eyes peered at you, his brows furrowing with concern despite the smirk playing on his lips.

“Do you know the answer?”

That was the answer to your question. It was always going to be the answer.

Lifting your arms up, you wrapped them around his neck and leaned in, your lips barely touching his. “You’re Min Yoongi…” This time, you could feel your own smile tugging at the corners of your mouth. “...and you’re mine.”

“ Be careful that’s hot!” Taehyung hadn’t even felt the heat when he brushed upon the metallic teapot on the stove, but nonetheless YN had rushed forward to pull him away from it. Carefully examining the skin to see if any marks had been left on it. Taehyung had felt a smile spread across his face at her concern. It wouldn’t hurt him, she must’ve known that, but YN had always treated him normally - something he knew she shouldn’t be doing. Gently he hooked his fingers under her chin, tilting her head upwards so she could look at him. “I’m fine. There’s no need to worry.” It was almost comical the way her forehead was wrinkled by frown lines and the small pout of her lips. Taehyung could never laugh though, not at her.

“There is a need to worry, I don’t have the parts to fix you if your skin gets burnt.” YN pushed his hand away gently, Taehyung didn’t know which hurt more: her rejection or her words. Every time Taehyung thought the gap between them was being bridged, she would pull away. Utter a phrase to remind him that he was inferior to her - she never did it on purpose, but that’s what it did. “YN.” He whispered her name, but she had already left the kitchen. Taehyung supposes he could’ve had it worse, others like him had suffered under terrible owners. YN wasn’t like that though, she would never intentionally harm him, but unintentionally she was grinding his metallic heart to pieces.

Taehyung awoke with a jolt, immediately casting a glance to his side but seeing the empty bed only served as a cruel reminder. Today was an important day and as much as Taehyung longed to stay in bed, to drift back into the realm of dreams where YN always accompanied him, he had to get up. They were watching after all. Taehyung went about his morning routine, aware of the cameras that observed his every move. Not that it really mattered anyway, the chip implanted in him would report everyone of his thoughts back to them. It had been the first thing they had ‘rectified’ when he had returned. A slow humming sound could be heard and it was a sign that Taehyung was running out of time. Quickly he thrust his clothes on and put on the beaded bracelet. Waiting for the guards to come collect him.

“Do you like it?”

Taehyung glanced away from the display to see YN staring up at him. When he didn’t respond immediately, YN pointed to the bracelet on stand and asked again. Taehyung did like it, the small details painted on the beads amazed him. Tiny immaculate portraits of angels drawn on each one, he wasn’t religious but he could appreciate art. YN smiled, turning and walking a few steps to the lady sitting on the stool. “I’d like to buy it please.” Her voice drifted towards him and Taehyung stood shocked. He had done something wrong hadn’t he? He wasn’t supposed to be asking for things, or forcing her to spend money on him. This was wrong. This was a mist - Gently YN cradled his hand and slipped the bracelet on.

“There isn’t it pretty? You have very good taste.” All Taehyung could do was stare in wonder at her. She wasn’t supposed to be acting like this, she should be reprimanding him for being a nuisance. Most owners would do this. “Do you want to go home, Tae?” He would come to learn YN was not like most owners.

The door opened and Taehyung was greeted with three armed guards waiting to escort him. Taehyung didn’t even bother sparing them a glance. He kept his head down as he exited the room. The sleek white hall lacked the warmth and tenderness that YN’s house did. The second he had set foot inside her house, Taehyung had realized what a home truly was - and that he’d been living inside a prison the entire time. When the room came into sight Taehyung’s pace slowed down, causing one of the guards to push him with the back of his gun. He’d known since the second he stepped foot in here again that he was going to die, but being aware of things to come doesn’t make it easier to deal with them when they do happen.

To be clear, Taehyung always knew what existed between the two of you wasn’t going to work out. It was wrong. Illegal. Immoral. At least according to them it was. YN saw things differently of course, she saw him as an equal - not a machine. Taehyung would always replay their memories in his head; the only thing that kept him sane until that point. There was one memory he couldn’t revisit though, one that caused him so much pain that he would rather forget it. The brain has a funny way of working though. As Taehyung was walking to his grave, it seemed to be all he could think about. The way YN’s eyes pierced at him in their final moments together. The way she had held onto him, as the life left her eyes.

“I will always be with you. There are traces of me that will remain and they shall be with you.”

“KT1204, alias Kim Taehyung, you’ve been found guilty of the murder of YLN YN. For that a shut down and wipe out has been ordered, you will cease to exist and all memory of you will be erased.”

Taehyung rolled his eyes as they laid him down on the bed, if it could even be considered that, the way they looked at him was full of shame. Yet another failure in their program. Another reminder of just how far they were from their mark. Taehyung couldn’t look at them anymore so he simply closed his eyes, wanting to see her one last time.

“You have a beautiful soul, Taehyung.” He rolled his eyes, glancing up into the blue sky. Taehyung didn’t have a soul. Sure he had a heart and a brain, a working body too, but a soul was the one thing he didn’t have. “That’s not true. I can’t have a soul.”

YN scoffed, “Of course it’s true. That’s what makes your soul so beautiful. You aren’t meant to have one yet you do.” Taehyung turned to look at her, seeing the way she gazed at him. It wasn’t admiration. That was the way people on the street looked at him when they walked by, the way those at the lab looked at him. Those looks reduced him to nothing more than an object. No, YN looked at him with pure unadulterated adoration and that left him feeling like a god. Taehyung leaned closer, “If I have a soul, what does it mean?”

She seemed to ponder on this for a while before simply shrugging, “It means nothing and everything.” Taehyung had an inkling of what she meant, “Does it mean I get to be with you?” YN laughed, “It means we get to be together. In this lifetime and beyond. Nothing can break us. Not even death.”

We’ve been busy backstage discussing the best course of action for the network. So after a discussion amongst the staff, the following has occurred:

Cee (@yutasgalaxy) is now Head Admin of BGN! The other admins are either still around in the server, or have departed to focus on other things. BGN wouldn’t be here without them, and we thank them for the forethought to create the network. We will work hard to keep it going!

Admin Cee has already put together a new team to get the ball rolling at BGN. Each brings their talents to help keep things running smoothly in the network.

Ah, the golden maknae. He's got the most tender heart and the sweetest soul, no matter how many tattoos or piercings he gets in the future- he has "please love me" tattooed on himself now, afterall. Jeongguk is willing and wants to learn, and strives to be his personal best. He wants balance in his life, appreciates beauty, and is a romantic at heart. He's constantly analyzing himself, how he can be better, do better, and honestly he probably doesn't give himself enough credit. Don't be so hard on yourself if you relate to all of that--you're allowed to both give yourself a break and remember that we are always evolving.

disclaimers: {yes, this is basically a follow forever at the request of heath} {no, i did not do that trend justice} {i have 2 friends} {enjoy this smorgasbord of chaos}

as you all know, i started this humble blog as a blissful joon bias. life was good. i loved bonsai trees, art museums, and one (1) god of destruction. flash-forwards a few months, kook burst onto the scene with his fluffy hair and his black clothing and his fricking wide eyes. TOO MANY TIMES DID I LIE AWAKE AND THINK “why am i being subject to such wrecking?” “what am i even doing?” “what is the meaning of life?” IT NEEDED TO END.

one day, i stopped lying to myself and decided to come clean by double biasing joon and kook. BUT NO. JUNGKOOK WAS STILL NOT SATISFIED. lemme tell you about my friend heathy… he slid into my tumblr dms waaay back when i posted intimidation to tell me that someone had plagiarized my work. without even knowing anything about me besides my url, heathy gathered his friends to report and message the author who stole my fic. long story short, that author deleted it, and my love for heath was cemented. HE IS A RIDE OR DIE SWEETHEART WHO WILL DEFEND HIS FRIENDS AND WHOEVER HE FEELS IS IN NEED. i cannot explain the amount of uwus that is heathy. and for that reason, he gets the reese’s pieces award for being the king of uwu!

The Lovable Loose Cannon Award: Tay @interludemoonchild

oh lord, where to begin with this girl. there is never a dull moment with tay. she - without fail - will make anyone and everyone laugh with her big emojis, her horrific emojis, and her general extra tay nature. she is also so sweet and trusting and loyal, like she might really be the griffinosifudis she proclaims to be (yes, that was how she spelled gryffindor). you never really know what you’re going to get from tay… will it be heartbreaking angst (RIP [redacted], i will never forgive you, tay), kinky smut (STAN BAPTISM), or hybrid hyungline (i may have commissioned this sskskskks). but, not knowing is half the fun! therefore, the reese’s pieces award for the lovable loose cannon goes to tayyyyy.

The Loyal Encourager of Shenanigans Award: Jess @rkivenamu

grab a snack (preferably a banana) and get comfortable bc this will be a big boi of a dedication. jess, the almighty creator of banana jin and sub!maknae smut, is an all around 10/10 human!! (and yes, jess, i know u don’t like affection so i will try my best to stay chill...) what i appreciate most about jess is that she always encourages my wildest dreams. veggie tales au? she supports. kidz bop au? she is ready for it! moss!reader x florist jimin? she stans! This monthly segment serves as a means to inform our members, readers and followers about any current activities that keep the café bubbling. We hope to keep you updated and hopefully you will feel encouraged to join in on the appropriate activities.

CAFE PROJECTS

Running a great cafe and making good coffee is only possible if you have the right process and resources. The admins of BTS Writing Cafe believe that thanks to our amazing members we are able to accomplish both. Henceforth we want to keep highlighting the people that make sure our cafe remains as vibrant as it is. Keep reading to find more about our current projects and how you can join them!

Disney Collaboration

↳ In this collab we want to challenge the network’s writers to write a fic that’s inspired by any disney fairytale you wish to use. You, as a writer, choose how much you want to deviate from the original plot to create something entirely new. The collab has no deadlines whatsoever, henceforth you do not have any specific time frame to refer to. This is created for members of the network within our discord chat, want to join us? The Chronicles of Y/N

↳ An upcoming collab with @heartsofbtsnet, it focuses on Y/N, and the many adventures they’re been on! Unfortunately the applications for this collab are closed but stay tuned for the masterlist, to be posted on August 26th, which will be filled with amazing work from various writers.

Daily Grind

↳ For the month of July, the café had the opportunity to interview two of our members: @se0kie and @cheonjae-min. They happily shared their writing process as well as inspiration for fics. Author Appreciation

↳ The café wants all less appreciated fics to get the love they deserve! Henceforth do not hesitate both as readers and writers or members and non-members to submit your favorite fics with less than 250 notes. If you wish to partake in it, click here to be redirected to a more detailed post.

Prompt Team

↳ Do you enjoy coming up with scenarios and prompts that are perfect for writing into a fic? If so, feel free to join as a member to help keep this network growing in support of one another! Check out the rules here.

Fic Favorites of the Month

↳ Every month three of the admins read the fics of authors who haven’t yet been a part of a monthly favorite list. At the end of the month the admins’ thoughts and feedback are posted for our followers and the concerned writers to read. If you wish to know more about our fic favorites for the month of June click here

Promptly Yours Collaboration

↳ This collab is open to members and nonmembers to use some of the admin’s favorites from our prompt lists. Using what our network members have previously created, writers applied for the specific scenario that they would like to create content for. The completed masterlist will be posted in October!

OUR BIGGEST HITS

This segment is all about making readers and authors connect over their writing. A lot of work goes into writing fics. Every author has their own unique way of writing and we know readers are always curious about the writing progress. This is why we created Cafe’s Biggest Hits!

Every month, admins will pick the most popular fics of the month based on our blog’s activity log.

The readers will then be able to submit any questions they have for the authors of these hit fics. Admins chose three questions from those submitted to ask the author(s). Interviews will then be published in the following month’s issue of Bangtan Coffeehouse Times! Please read further to see what this past months’ biggest hits are!

↳ genre: angst, a sprinkle of fluff, inexplicit smut, romance, fae!taehyung, fantasy!au, royalty!au

↳ summary: The Faeries of Ethelaven have always been known as the vicious ones. They revel in torturing humans that come within their grasps. Yet, you find yourself living amongst them for over a year now and they aren’t exactly like how the rumours portray them to be, especially the King. Not when he’s willing to stay by your side even when your past starts to haunt you.

Alternatively, V has always wanted to open himself up ever since he met you. You, on the other hand, are hesitant on how fast things are moving and at the self-doubt gnawing inside you.

SEE BEHIND THE SCENES:

1) what was your favorite thing about writing this fic?

i would say everything about this fic actually since i love fantasy aus and i’ve always wanted to write tae as a faerie especially with his characterization in here. so, overall i love bringing this fic’s world into “life”.

2) was any part of the process difficult for you?

yes, there are some difficulties in the process. one of them is making sure that each of the scenes has significant impact on the storyline. also, writing the descriptive scenes are challenging for me personally as well.

3) how long does it usually take you to write fics?

it depends on how planned the fic is and the length of it as well. if i was able to come up with the plot and outline it as detailed as possible (and in the mood to write it too) i would guess maybe around a month or two for lengthy fics and less than that for shorter ones.

4) is this a type of au that is most easy for you to write?

yes! i tend to be drawn to fantasy aus since i have a rly imaginative mind. so, writing it into words is personally very satisfying. i also read books and watch a lot of fantasy genres which probably made me get used to this type of au.

↳ genre: smut, pwp

↳ summary: When Taehyung encourages your new found hobby of rollerskating, he found it cute, but as your confidence grew the amount of clothes you were lessened and as you glide around in a skimpy bikini top he know’s he’s in trouble.

SEE BEHIND THE SCENES:

1) what was your favorite thing about writing this fic?

my favorite thing was definitely writing the playful, almost competitive, atmosphere between both characters.

2) was any part of the process difficult for you?

writing the smut so it doesn’t feel repetitive or choppy was probably the difficult part, also trying to make the use of rollerskates realistic.

3) how long does it usually take you to write fics?

if its a pwp I can usually write it in a day or two if it’s literally anything else it takes me days or weeks because i’m kind of a slow writer.

4) is this a type of au that is most easy for you to write?

yeah i think it is (:
