Eridan ♦️ Karkat
the ship with the most canon backing. this ship needs to be true before all other ships can be true because it keeps the two of them normal enough to have a shot at romancing anybody else. nobody realized they were pale for each other for an embarrasingly long time because their regular day to day conversations feature slurs and death threats. sometimes looks pitch or flushed from the outside because karkat is a mess who can't stop yelling at people he's trying to romance in the red quads, and because eridan gets really needy sometimes.
Eridan ♥️ Roxy
They get together within five minutes of knowing each other and, despite Rose's protests, never ever break up. Eridan is into cute, pink, bubbly, nice girls, and Roxy is into eccentric troubled princes. Not to mention she fucking loves wizards, and Eridan is a wizard, and that they're both hipsters who use rifles. Also Eridan is weird as hell and Roxy thinks he's hilarious for it. Despite the fact that he puts on this unpleasant, nasty act, he'll pretty much do anything Roxy tells him to, and she likes that. She thinks he has himbo energy. Everyone else thinks she's deranged. Like girl that guy is an insane murderer. Girl he will not stop saying slurs
also their specific abilities are diametrically opposed in an interesting way? prince of hope = can destroy anything he believes he can destroy, rogue of void = can create anything by stealing away its nonexistence. neat!
Roxy ♦️ Calliope
since they aren't trolls and don't need to calm each other down, it's not really a proper moirallegiance, but they're bffffffs and the kinds of silly fun-loving gals who would call their friendship a moirallegiance even if it doesn't have the biological components or serve the social function of one. Two girls that just love each other.
Eridan ♠️ Calliope
biologically, cherubs only engage in pitch romances and are attracted to other cherubs that remind them of the other half they lost in predomination. what i'm saying is that calliope - unfortunately for her - has brother issues. initially put off by eridan's superficial similarities to caliborn - his bluster, his riflekind, his insane logic and thick skull, and how damn often he talks about murder - as they get to know each other, the feeling becomes mutual. eridan is generally totally ok with outright hostility, but calliope's faux-nice smugness when taunting an opponent would drive him nuts, as would the earnestness with which she approaches magic (what kind of POSER needs to RELOAD their WAND), and in general, i think he'd take her genuine well-wishes toward other people as a personal affront, a la "i didn't ever need anybody to look after me!"
they somehow have a 50/50 win ratio at the board games they play, which drives calliope nuts. "believing in your pieces" is not a valid chess strategy!!!!!!!!!
also i think it's fun and thematic, the angel killer and the cherub, whose adult form features hope-shaped wings.
Karkat ♥️ Calliope
We know two things from his crush on terezi: the first is that karkat is into clever, cunning gals, and the second is that he's really fucking messy, the kind of guy who would tell his flushed crush to "set the table on his bone bulge for their candle light hate date." Fortunately, or unfortunately??? for calliope, the fact that he will scream obscenities at her is kind of what she's into. everybody, please, a moment of silence for calliope, who somehow manages to have worse taste in men than roxy.
but yeah more seriously, karkat has a big and loving heart, and so does calliope, while calliope maintains a cleverness and intellect that karkat would be into.
normally, it would be a huge problem for your moirail to be pitch for your matesprit, and we have that both ways here. however, a few factors are mitigating that here. first, eridan will always prioritize karkat or roxy over calliope when they're around. this actually does kind of piss her off, although she feels annoyed that it does. second, calliope is generally mature enough to compartmentalize. third, karkat WILL auspicetize if they aren't careful, and nobody wants that. and fourth, everybody wants to keep roxy happy.
but yeah everyone else watching it is like. are you guys okay? blink if you need help
ofc ship what you want to ship this is not at all me telling you what you should be into. im just saying that these ships have been calculated for Maximum Funnyness, which as we know, is the only objective measure for what makes a good homestuck ship

If Will is a lab kid, do you think he's always meant to be one, or is it one of those things that they decided to go with post-season 1?
I'm sort of undecided right now? Part of me thinks, yes definitely! Then another part of me thinks, maybe not?
It's kind of the equivalent to byler for me rn, where yes, there are several instances in s1 that I read as foreshadowing Mike not being straight and/or even simply liking Will. Though, I can't say for certain if that was their original intention (unless they admit it themselves eventually) because we know from what they've said in the past, they thought s1 could end up being a standalone. And so if s1 ended the way it did, without returning, then presumably byler wouldn't have been endgame (at least not blatantly in canon).
However, they also have said that while producing s1, Netflix wanted more background for the inter-workings of the greater story, so that if they did hypothetically continue there would be a plan. And so stuff like Eleven originally dying at the end of s1, might have been the permanent ending had they simply not returned for a s2. And yet they still ended s1 on a note that made her death open-ended, had they been given the opportunity to return.
So I do think generally speaking there could be a lot of details in s1 that were put there with the hope (or consideration at least) that the story could go further. And both byler endgame and twelvegate/willel twins sort of fits into that for me.
Though for the sake of this ask, there are definitely certain pieces of evidence from s1 that make me genuinely consider twelvegate as something they could have planned from the beginning. And not only that, but I think a lot of what happens in s1 ties into what goes on in the following seasons. So I feel fairly confident saying I think it might have indeed been a plan from the start.
One major thing I've been fixated on as of recent, is this consistent focus on Will's arms/wrists throughout the series. It's as if they're either very obnoxiously obstructing our view of his arm/wrists (usually his left arm w/ his watch), or they are showing them off blatantly in the frame (usually his right arm).
I think that this consistent detail, in tandem with the theme of time being central (Will's watch) as well as the references to the tattoo on El's left wrist/alleged birthmark on Will's right arm, makes a lot of these observations interesting as a whole, to say the least...
Within the first 5 minutes of being introduced to Will, he's sporting his iconic red/yellow vest and his watch. Within the first 5 minutes of being introduced to El, she's sporting the yellow Benny's burgers t-shirt, and not only that, but the red and yellow ketchup being the most eye catching colors in most of these shots takes my brain straight to Will (and El?). The shot of Benny with his watch in the frame is a nice touch, and us getting a close up of El's tattoo directly where Will's tattoo would presumably be (under his watch), is interesting, but it's even more interesting in the context of what's to come.
As of now, this is believed to be the first scene featuring the infamous birthday mug in Mike's basement, and it's a scene where Mike gives El his watch to wear on her left arm (over her tattoo), so that she can keep track of time.
This is the most unnecessary detail ever. I'm not even going to delve into it bc it's sort of ridiculous. Why even have Joyce say this, only to cut her off? Why?
This is probably my favorite example out of all of these, and it's because it was after getting an ask about this scene in particular, that I realized this is actually really suspicious. For one, it's the first time we're ever seeing Will w/out his watch in the series. It's a flashback that Joyce has while at Will's funeral. What we can presume based on the other flashbacks from s1, with Will at Castle Byers and then in Jonathan's room listening to music, with him wearing his watch in both of those, is that he was presumably not wearing his watch in the fireball flashback bc he was at an age where he didn't have it yet. So this is likely the youngest Will Byers we have seen in the show, pre-June 1982 at the latest (that's when Poltergeist was in theaters). But that's not even the interesting part. What's interesting is how in most of these shots, specifically OTS, they block out Will's left arm, while in contrast broadcasting his right arm in the frame. Weird how the first time they showed Will without his watch in the series, and they're making a point to block it out...? And the intense shadow in that third shot on his right arm also has me side eyeing...
Jumping to the end of s1, they make a point to show El returning Mike's watch before she gets into the salt bath to find Will. She removes it from her right arm, only for Mike to take it and put it back on his left arm. I wouldn't normally read too much into this, but when we've got time trickery/loop, Mike always running late, and Will might be a lab kid allegations all in the mix, how can I not read into this?
What then follows is El going into the void to find Will. Now's the time they make a point to show us the inside of Will's right arm/wrist, AKA the same arm that Joyce said had a birthmark? Almost like they want to confirm something they planted in our heads in the first place? And yet nothing is there, or so it seems..? I have to ask again, Why? What is the point of all of this? (+ reminder that Mike was missing from all of the reaction shots for this scene, which is odd...)
And yet it gets weirder. At the end of s1, when Will is rescued and reuniting with the party, they decide to also clue us in on the state of Will's left arm (he coughs and so he has no choice but to lift it up and put it on display... yeah... okay), the same arm they didn't let us see at the start of the season, but are now showing us AFTER Will's time in the upside down... Whatever I guess..
At the end of s1, during the epilogue, they give us a close up of Will's arms in long sleeves, which we have been lead to believe up this point now are both birthmark-less (tattoo-less if that's something someone was looking for...). And so okay. Cool. I can't say for certain why they still feel the need to show off his arms so blatantly like this (I do however have a guess...).
Onto s2!
These two images above are more so notable mentions to start of s2 than major examples. It gets pretty crazy going forward, but I felt the need to mention a couple examples like these bc they're simple and cute. The first one is cute bc there's so little of the main party in the frame as it is, and so making Will at the forefront with his little wrist out? Noted. And the next one is even more simple, and yet I love it bc of that detail of the letters spelling out "TICK" in the background...
This one is quite difficult to catch, but after rewatching and really trying to pay attention, I realized that what's being emphasized here is not only both of Will's arms, first his right then his left, but also in contrast, the doctor attending to him's wrists are on full display in both shots...
This is another notable mention, just because I think in general Will's love for drawing is something that makes these sort of shots very easy to overlook. Because they fit so well with the outright narrative, you don't have to read into it to appreciate it. However, looking at all these moments together, makes it hard for me to overlook.
And here we have another favorite, because this is after one of the most confusing scenes in the entire series, with which no fan has even come close to understanding yet. What I am referring to are the scenes at the Byers at the end of 2x01, where the phone rings and they don't answer it (Will is missing from these shots for some reason), followed by a scene at the lab with the lights flickering, then followed by Will waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. They give us this really dramatic shot of his wrists again, literally flipping them over to show off that there's nothing there... Why even go all out with this unless they assume that we are looking? And why even humor a reminder? Why make it a constant throughout the show, if there's nothing to it?
This is another notable mention because I think it's really peculiar how he kind of drags his left (watch) arm out the door, causing it to be doused in shadow for most of that shot. Though the next morning they show it off again. This may very well still seem not that suspicious yet, but trust me, this isn't even the most incriminating.
This is believed to be the second time we are seeing the infamous happy birthday mug, only this time it's in a scene with Mike and Will. I think what makes this scene so much better to me now, is how right Mike was without even realizing. The truth is, El would understand exactly what Will is going through. I initially tried to look into this scene from the context of arms/wrists and came up short. Though now, looking at it and typing this, I do think it's interesting they were presumably given the direction to cross their wrists over for that last shot... It could just be a coincidence, but a pretty insane one considering.

This one is interesting bc it's the first time we're officially introduced to Will's feeling in his neck (head?), which if you'll note, he reaches to touch with his arm(s).

Fair warning, it's about to get real.
Also s/out to @shippingfangirl013 who supports my Twelvegate obsession. We've been going back and forth for months rewatching. And I kid you not, every rewatch we're finding new evidence that support our theories (delusion?). She introduced me to a lot of these examples of Will's wrists being emphasized after we talked about the complexities of the tattoo debacle, leading us down a massive rabbit hole. Though these ones below are what probably take the cake, because they are just...
Well would you look at that. An extremely incriminating shot focusing entirely on Will's left arm dominating the frame more than ever before, and cast in a remarkably intense shadow, also with lacerations from the rope that was tying him up over his wrist(s). It means nothing...
Onto s3!
Also hard to spot this, but the final shot of the previous scene emphasizing El's left arm (wrist), where her tattoo is, along with her bracelet, sort of parallels the shots of Will in the following scene, which also emphasizes Will's left arm (wrist), where his watch is...
If you'll notice, each time Will has reached for his neck up to this point, he's always used his left arm.
That is until the scene at Castle Byers, which is when Will suddenly starts a new trend of using his right arm to reach for his neck instead, also ironically the same scene that Will says He's back...
This VERY much intrigues me in the context of the theory that Will was in part either possessed or at least guided in some way by Vecna to encourage the party to go to the hospital, where their ill-fate awaited them. Also somewhere they probably wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for Will bringing the idea up himself. There's already been analysis on this elsewhere, but the basics is that those scenes at Heather's house and the hospital, leading up to the lights flickering, and Will's blocking in all those shots/his literal shadow, is odd... (also I might be totally crazy, but these shots at the pool/hospital almost look like Will does have a birthmark on his right arm, arguably near the wrist tattoo zone... It doesn't look like Will/Noah has ever had a mole/birthmark in any of the shots focusing on his right arm in the show previously up to this point, which I just find that to be kind of confusing in the context of the speculation about a birthmark on his right arm in 1x03 by Joyce, despite that being debunked in the finale? Idk, maybe it's a new one? Idk. I'm just gonna try not to think about it too much or my brain might explode.).
Next, that first one is almost funny to me, because why does Will even need to be in the frame at all here? Arguably he doesn't need to be, but instead of just letting this be a shot of El and Max, they make a point to have Will's right arm placed directly in the middle of the shot (less the middle, more so following rule of thirds. Which is even more incriminating tbh)...
Not suspicious at all. Totally normal stuff going on here. In fact, look away entirely. It's probably a complete waste of your time...
ANYWAYS onto s4!
The wonder twins are now officially twinning-up after 3 seasons of subtle build-up. The yellow and red making a reappearance reminding us this is very much the same as it's always been, whether we (or they themselves) realize it or not. Both of their left wrists sporting some type of accessory, while also mirroring each other, is borderline spooky.
AGAIN, the unrelenting urge these Duffers have to make Will and El mirror each other...? Pretty remarkable if you ask me. Something is definitely going on here. Oh and here's a quick focus on Will's right arm during his fight with Mike... Idk doesn't look like any birthmarks in sight to me...
I bet you didn't see this coming, aka the van scene is twelvegate evidence???? I mean not on the surface, no. However, in the grand scheme of things, yes. It follows an interesting trend this show has had of focusing on Will's arms in a way that feels like they're hinting at something, while simultaneously keeping the truth just out of our reach.
And we're back to our regularly scheduled programming. You'll notice here at the end of s4, that Will is following the same late s3 trend of reaching with his right arm to touch his neck. I don't know what to make of the pattern they're going with there, but I do think it's interesting that there is a pattern at all in regards to which arm he uses. Am I scared about the implications that come with that? That this could mean Will ends s4 not entirely himself, at risk of being pushed to do things by Vecna, just like fans predict he was mid s3...?Absolutely.
It's fair to say I think this could have definitely been a plan since the beginning. Arguably, it fits quite well with David's consistent insistence that the ending of the show is beautiful, going all the way back to interviews he did to promote s2.
I do think it's possible this could have been a plot line they planned on exploring and maybe even revealing in s2, but once they realized what it a hit it was and that they would have to go another 2-3 seasons beyond that, then they presumably had to stretch it all out to make those revelations exciting for the end instead. And so Will taking a back seat to the greater plot for s3-4 makes a lot more sense to me, knowing they are arguably saving the most exciting and thought out ideas for last, which we know in large part all connects to Will...

ok episode 10 time. i ended up only putting together the head and body of the mk-ii earlier
starting off with sarius trying to bring up aerial again to the benerit group to try and get some punishment in but rajan is like lol nope.
given how we later see prospera and delling together at the end of this ep, i figure its a pretty good assumption that some time between grassley duel and now (its 2 months from what shaddiq says later), delling bring prospera on for quiet zero and he likely also help front aerial's repairs
also man vim is a fucking idiot lol. i totally forgot he says this to sarius. and then iirc all we get once we're in cour 2 is peil bringing up that jeturk suits were used at plant quetta which like yea lmao he can't be like oh btw i knew about it all beforehand

honestly cool as hell that they got this prototype all set in the last two months - likely mostly nika and belmeria's work. i have a dumb headcanon that gund-arm probably didn't really get to do much R&D in the 3 year time skip because of all the loose ends miorine's probably been dealing with from the benerit group, on top of taking care of suletta, taking care of her mother-in-law and then nika's in fucking jail lol. even then, since it's likely ojelo and nuno were the ones doing most of the work (maybe belmeria still helping?), it's still neat that they have prosthetics about to start testing rounds with petra. yeah i wrote all this just to say wow nika's so smart

also, i'm glad we didnt get the secret message inside cool-san thing everyone kept theorizing about after the break up. that just wouldnt have made any sense with what miorine was trying to do lol
gosh its so nice to be rewatching this and just KNOW somewhere within those 2 months suletta and miorine's relationship just became normalized to the earth house kids and we just see it over and over in this episode

So we're having a s7/s8 breakdown on this fine Saturday? Good. May I interest you in theese thoughts (this whole ask might include some wild speculation, I hope you're up for it, if no, please ignore and I will crawl back to my basement, also this got SO LONG I AM ALMOST ASHAMED, but I need to exchange thoughts with someone agsfsdghf):
Amelia was the original blurry wife for Sam. I remember at the time s8 was airing the fandom wasn't really fond of her because she wasn't very special as a character, she felt kind of boring (obviously the wincest/bibro side hated her for different reasons lol) and unfortunately she was very forgettable. She was literally Just Some Woman, a blank canvas. (idk if you agree but this is what I think). But. I think she was set up to be Sam's endgame if season 8 was the last one. He gets what he wanted - out of the hunter's life, white picket fence, a wife and a dog. And it was confirmed somewhere that she was written off due to the hate she received (spn fandom being spn fadom I am leaving this without comment). So that is why I believe she was gonna be the Blurry Wife of season 8, but she was written off....
....."But hey!", you might say, "Sam was the one doing the trials in season 8! So how can she be his endgame if he was going to lock up Hell and die?". I have an answer! Sam doesn't start the trials until 8x14, four episodes after he broke up with Amelia and chose Dean in 8x10. Up until then it was agreed that Dean was going to be the one to do the trials, it was changed last minute in the show (when Sam ends up killing the hellhound in 8x14) and part of me wonders how much it might reflect the last minute change in real life. counterpoint: spn got a renewal on February 11th 2013 and 8x14 was shot November 30th - December 11th 2012 so renewal is not the case, maybe just a general change of direction for the season? idk, BUT......
.... but maybe? now I am thinking. So they make Sam break up with Amelia to get rid of her and so he can do the trials. and he is going to die. so basically once again Sam is going to die in the finale as a sacrifice (like in Swan Song) (oh I just remembered 8x23 was titled Sacrifice. NICE). And now back to Dean and everything romantic that happened that I mentioned in those tags. Let's say they keep the 'I love you' in 8x17 (I am still writing all of this under the assumption that season 8 was going to be the last one). And Cas disappears. And now guess what. He is not in 8x18. He is not in 8x19 but you know who is? NAOMI with this epic line: "And yet you haven't warded this place against us. I know. You're hoping Castiel will return to you. I admire your loyalty. I only wish he felt the same way. I know you don't want to believe it, Dean, but we're on the same side – shutting the Gates of Hell, bringing Castiel in from the cold. Take a moment. Think about what I've said." literally WHAAAAT, what were we supposed to think at this point?!?!? IF THE 'I LOVE YOU' was kept in 8x17?! can you imagine?! (also sidenote: 8x19 is a buckleming episode where they kill off Benny. epic highs and lows, etc.)
So they aren't reunited until 8x22 (i mean last seconds of 8x21 but it doesn't really matter). And Dean is angry, and hurt and we have this piece of dialogue:
CASTIEL: Dean, I can go with you.
A FEW SECONDS PASS BEFORE SPEAKING AGAIN
Dean. I'm sorry.
DEAN: For what?
CASTIEL: For everything.
DEAN" Everything? Like, uh... Like ignoring us?
CASTIEL: Yes.
DEAN: Or like bolting off with the Angel Tablet, then losing it 'cause you didn't trust me? You didn't trust me.
CASTIEL: Yes.
DEAN: Yeah. Nah, that's not gonna cut it. Not this time. So you can take your little apology and you cram it up your ass.
CASTIEL: Dean, I thought I was doing the right thing.
DEAN: Yeah, you always do.
still with me? ok. so then Cas is sad and wants to apologize and goes out to buy Dean beer and pie but Metatron finds him and they go on their little quest together. blah blah blah, Sam and Dean catch Crowley, they are in the church, Sam in beginning the ritual on Crowley when wild Cas appears and asks Dean for help because... he needs a Cupid's Bow for Metatron to lock up Heaven. and he asks for Dean's help. I mean at this moment I think everyone would have gotten the HINT. Dean leaves Sam with Crowley to do the trial by himself (he chooses to go with Cas this is important because the last time he saw Cas he was angry at him).
And then we have that infamous bar scene where Dean might still be hurt but now he is afraid of losing Cas AGAIN due to Heaven about to be locked up and he is like "ummm are you sure? you're -- you're boarding up Heaven, and you're locking the door behind you. you did a lot of damage up there, aren't you afraid the angels might kill you?" and Cas is like stone cold "yeah they might and I am sure about doing this" :( and then they witness as two dudes fall in love in the bar. hint hint again.
quick cut to Crowley who says: "Don't we all -- you, me -- we deserve to be loved. I deserve to be loved! I just want to be loved". hint hint Love is a whole theme of this episode
AND THEN Castiel's grace ends up being the last ingredient to cast out all angels from Heaven after a nephilim and cupid's bow. And it's brushed off with a no-homo line by Metatron: "I want you to live this new life to the fullest. Find a wife. Make babies." SURE. oh to get my hands on the original first drafts of those episodes... a girl can dream.
in conclusion I wonder what the ending would be here. Dean and Cas eventually reunite and finally talk it out? one can argue: "but why Cas didn't confess back when they were having their moment in the bar? :/" well, because, as he tells us himself, (actually he says it to Kevin prior to he bar scene, but it's easy to understand that he is also talking about himself here): "There is no out. so then they finally reunite, both human and they find each other and Cas is like "My grace was the special last spell ingredient because ..................." and they would address the Crypt Scene confession finally, I guess. They arrive at the Church and Sam is dead (according to what we know now (if a soul was in hell it will always end up in hell thing) maybe he went to hell. maybe it's locked up but he is the one in charge Rowena-style?). So of course Dean is a wreck but he has Cas by his side. Holding hands as they bury Sam. I don't know but I want to know SO BADLY what they had originally planned here. I would literally willingly sell my kidney to read Carver's mind.

I also do wonder what they were doing with Sam in s8 it's very disjointed and out of character, so your guesses are VERY interesting. Amelia like made no sense Sam made no sense or the way Sam treated Benny (which I think was set up for Sam decided to choose hunting with Dean over her and Dean about Benny, so I don't know if she was meant to be endgame ever? but I have nooo clue what they could have meant for because the plot is all over the place in s8). anyways INTERESTING. FRUITS BASKET S3 EPISODE 12 RECAP!!!
...Do you think we'll get a Fruits Basket Another adaptation or OVA or something of the sorts? 🥺
Anyway, I'd like to start this off by shouting out whoever writes the episode descriptions on Funimation who started off the description of last week's episode as:
"Kyo finally tells Tohru what he should have told her in the first place"
🤣Damn straight.

We get three 'I love you and I want to stay with you, if you'll keep me's during this episode. (Four if you count Haru's declaration that he'll love Yuki forever lol) And they're all so unique yet fitting to the pairing involved...
SMOOTH OPERATORRRRR 🎶
Why did this scene make me blush so hard! It had no audacity to do that. I loved it.
Personally, I'm really glad we got this Machi and Yuki moment separate from Kyo and Tohru's moment in the previous episode as while I already love Yuki/Machi together, I do wish we got more moments over the course of the series to get to know them together and their natural dynamic as friends (without the awkwardness and uncertainty).
But, I mostly just love how this isn't an actual confession in the traditional sense of the declaration of feelings but it's more so an almost spiritual, mutual understanding and probably lands this pair as having the most natural progression of a relationship in the series.
They cute.
And Yuki really can't help being a Disney Prince, Gods bless him.

...Just gonna note down what Akito says about her feelings for Shigure:
'I want to permeate his body, get into his cells, into his bones, invade and infuse them. Saturate his entire being with my own. Fill every corner of him with my scent, till he can't even breathe.'

I fully believe they love each other intensely and kinda, weirdly violently and I definitely can understand why people like this pairing, especially as there are real life couples that are just like this. I just would've loved if they acknowledged that their upbringing in such a toxic environment has negatively affected the way they express their love towards each other and that maybe separating for a while and trying to understand who they are without each other and the curse would be great? But, whatever, I'm not a therapist.
Considering Akito's final decision to stay as the head of the family (albeit to take responsibility) and Shigure being a bit put off by it and the scene ending with that off-key background music that always plays whenever 'God fucks shit up'... In my opinion, this might be the saddest ending for an 'endgame-level' romantic pairing in Fruits Basket...
Two positive notes: Akito looked pretty and she gets Outfit Appreciation - 5 stars! It was pretty and gorgeous but also ha da slight edge of boss bitch to it. Also, Shigure being the only one at the party left behind to love Akito fully and wholly is sort of romantic?

I don't think I've ever fully stanned a heterosexual couple this hard in ANYTHING. (Heterosexual assumedly cos Tohru's definitely bi in my HCs)
I dunno.. I don't have much to say that hasn't already been said in previous recaps. They're great and their progression has been written so well! I feel like they have the most casually natural 'I wanna stay with you, if you'll let me' mostly because they've been in a relationship together since the beach arc (whether they know that or not) and the easiness of their dynamic has been pretty solidified between them. But, also because they are the best written and detailed relationship in the series. It just feels natural and without question.
Also, that slightly blurry/sun-dappled flash forward we got to married Kyoru was gorgeous and I definitely wasn't expecting it! (I kinda thought Tohru's sweat drop was her crying and I got worried for a minute lol)

Yuki's goodbye to the curse was, of course, the most gorgeous of the goodbyes. Very fitting.
We haven't heard Kyo say 'yo' literally since his first introduction in the series and I dunno, it was nice to see how unburdened and less angry he is in general. So refreshing!
Momiji and Kagura conspiring to pick on Kyo cos he's the reason for both of their own heartbreaks. Yes. >:))
It was really nice having Aya there just being dramatic Aya, you could tell that the zodiac felt more relaxed by his Aya-ness

It's interesting that when Akito was remembering her greatest hits of times she traumatised the zodiac that her moments with Kyo weren't there... You could argue that Kyo's trauma was more so tied to outer members of the Sohma family and the institution/culture behind the curse but... I dunno, there were some moments...
I dunno why but I genuinely find this screencap scary and it's a curse to my eyes so now you guys have to deal with it. That's all.
It's funny, Shigure's explanation of 'why he is the way he is' is pretty much the same as Loki's explanation as to why he's the way he is in the Loki show and yet I'm still here saying fuck Shigure and stanning Loki. I'm an impure human who will only submit to Gods. I guess lol
Ending the episode on Kyoko's thoughts during her death was definitely jarring but it was also definitely needed - just to reassure the audience! This is definitely Lydia Mackay's best performance as Kyoko, the emotions in her voice really pierced through me. And her sharing Ocean Heaven with Katsuya was beautiful but WHY WON'T WE EVER LOOK UPON KATSUYA'S FACE?!

SPN is ending
And here’s my take on how it will go down, based on the limited knowledge we have. Please be aware that these are not foolproof predictions. Title analysis can only get you so far, and some of the titles are vague enough that they could mean just about anything. Still I’d like to try my best to predict the narrative based on how I would go about it and based on the vague references.
I’ll go episode by episode, include as many details as I can reasonably add, and try to keep my Destiel shipping goggles off as much as possible. Buckle up.

First one is pretty easy. Episode 14, “Last Holiday” promises to be kind of literal, with a mysterious figure appearing and giving Jack, Sam, and Dean the holidays they missed out on. However, I was curious, since Supernatural has a habit of including obscure or not so obscure references in their titles, if there was any other thing we could correlate this to.
There is actually a movie called “Last Holiday” starting Queen Latifah, whose character is diagnosed with a terminal illness, which results in her making the decision to abandon her boring life and live like a millionaire in Europe.
The idea of the fight with Chuck being a “terminal illness” on the horizon could be why now is the best time for these guys to live it up.
This possible reference coupled with the ‘last’ seems to say that this episode will be a sort of final moment of levity before the endgame. Past this episode there be monsters, lads. I’d also like to point out that since it will be just Jack and the brothers if the promo photos are anything to go by, this will be a good time to get in some forgiveness and family bonding for our characters before things go downhill again.
Looking at promo photos for this episode again, I’m not sure where, but the episode may also carry some development for the plot. I’m not sure whether the photos of Cas, Amara, and Charlie were for this episode or another one (since they are not listed as cast members for the episode on IMDb), but we’ll be seeing all of them again soon it looks like, and I can’t wait for Cas and Jack to go on a hunt together again.

This episode will be the beginning of the descent. We’re standing on the edge and staring into the void, and we’re about to take the plunge. How do I know this?
“Gimme Shelter”, the title for this new episode, seems to have a literal meaning of the characters continuing to try to hide from God. However, as usual, the title is also a reference, this time to a song by The Rolling Stones. The lyrics to said song are nice and foreboding.

This is definitely where things are going to really pick up plot wise. Most likely, more will be revealed about Billie’s Plan to Kill God TM. Although, the idea of Death herself leading the Winchesters to victory feels sketchy to me still. She is deliberately withholding all the details, and she’s doing it for a reason.
Something down the line is going to make the Winchesters angry with her, and she’s not going to tell them about it unless it’s absolutely necessary. I have a feeling what it is will get revealed in the next episode.

“Drag Me Away (From You)” has some very clear negative connotations, and on top of everything has a weird format. It could be based on the lyric from Africa by Toto, ‘it’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you’, or a reference to the song “Drag Me Away” by Melissa Etheridge, whose lyrics mention angels, and are about resistance and perseverance, two defining characteristics of the Winchesters. However, I’d like to point out another correlation.
Like I said before, the title has a weird format. The only other episode of Supernatural with a similar title to this one is season 12 episode 12 “Stuck in the Middle (With You)”. That episode was about what seemed like a normal hunt, but was actually a mission for Mary by the British Men of Letters to get the Colt. In that episode, Cas came ridiculously close to dying a painful and slow death, which does not bode well for this episode if it’s correlated in any way.
If what I’m predicting for Billie’s plan is true, this episode will be where the viewers are clued in on the thing she won’t tell the Winchesters about. The brothers might not necessarily get clued in (like how they still hadn’t realized Mary’s involvement with the BMOL at the end of 12x12), but whatever Billie is withholding will have serious consequences.
For this episode, I predict that Cas will come absurdly close to death again, because I believe Billie’s plan involves him dying. Billie doesn’t consider Cas a member of TFW. Multiple times in the most recent episodes, she talks about how important Jack is, how important the Winchesters are, but never Cas, and it feels like a weird oversight.
“Ever since I got this new job, I stand witness to a much larger picture. You know what I see? You. And your brother. You’re important.” 13x05 “Advanced Thanatology”
“I told you Dean, you and your brother have work to do.” 15x12 “Galaxy Brain”
Surely Cas has a part to play, since he’s one of the main characters right? But Billie doesn’t trust Cas, as well she shouldn’t. Cas is a wildcard, an angel who doesn’t do as he’s told. He straight up stabbed her in the back, something that she was completely caught off guard by.
I could make an entire post about how Cas hasn’t played by the rules of the universe since season 4 episode 18 “The Monster at the End of This Book”, but I digress. The point is that this episode is probably going to shed some light on the true threat the team is facing. Which leads us into...
17-18
Here’s where things start to get muddy. The titles from this point on get vague, and without any solid information about the previous episodes, these could be headed anywhere.
“Unity” is the next episode, number 17, and that could mean a lot of things. In my proposed timeline it is after a supposed revelation about Billie’s plan, so maybe they feel more unified after learning it.
In Supernatural‘s usual story structure, though, it feels like this episode will probably be the buildup to what seems like the end of the villain, but will actually be the darkest hour.
The episode following right after this is titled “Despair” and I think that’s telling. Supernatural writers do this often, where the boys make a plan, and inevitably when they follow it something goes wrong. “Unity” is the plan being made and carried out, and “Despair” is either the episode where everything goes wrong, or the aftermath.
[EDIT: The title of episode 18 is actually “The Truth”, which I believe may still narratively serve the same purpose, but now I’m more convinced that this is where the Winchesters learn about Castiel’s deal and/or something that Billie has been keeping from them about the plan to kill God. Before I go into detail about this two-episode arc, an obligatory
Warning: Shipping Ahead
To my eyes, “Unity” seems like the perfect place for Castiel’s arc to reach a breaking point. If I’m right, and this is the episode where everything seems to succeed, then what better time for The Empty to snatch Cas away from his happiness.
If I was a writer, and I was in fact planning on making Destiel canon, this is where I’d do it. It makes the most sense to have Dean and Cas finally realizing their love for each other be the catalyst for Cas “finally giving himself permission to be happy” especially if this episode also contains a false climax regarding the Chuck storyline. Cas has said multiple times that he’s “far from happy”, so there has to be something huge happen for Cas to get there. Not to mention, Cas would be a sort of vessel for the audience, simultaneously happier than we’ve ever been because we were finally right, and sadder than ever because Cas is gone.
“Despair” won’t just be despair that the plan failed. It could also be Dean’s despair at losing Cas, our despair at seeing our hopes for them dashed.
[EDIT: Again, the title will NOT be “Despair” it will be “The Truth”, but I still think it’s telling that Despair was a working title for long enough that it’s on the IMDb page, and if “The Truth” contains the truth about how Dean and Cas feel about each other, then this will still be a dark episode.]

Now we come to another referential episode, “Inherit the Earth”. There’s really not enough information to have anything solid regarding the nitty gritty details, but we can take a look at what this title is most likely referencing. “Inherit the Earth” is just a tiny part of a common phrase. It’s used in media all the time, but we’re interested in the original source.
I’m not sure if the episode will contain references to all the pieces of this passage from the Bible, but “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” seems to build off of the last episode, “Despair”. Another translation for the word meek in this instance may have been “powerless”, and after the negative moments in the previous episode TFW would probably feel pretty powerless. Maybe, in the previous episodes, Jack failed and lost his powers again, and that’s what caused Despair, but now he will inherit the powers that God had, or inherit control of earth.
If the rest of the passage is to be taken into account here, there’s also the “poor in spirit” who will ascend to the “kingdom of heaven”, possibly a reference to Cas being depressed and fighting for Heaven to be maintained. “Those who mourn will be comforted”, and that may actually bode well for Sam and Dean, who constantly mourn for the friends they’ve lost. Maybe in this episode they’ll get some closure on that front, maybe with their friends trapped in Hell going to Heaven (Kevin). The next line after “inherit the earth” refers to “those who hunger and thirst for righteousness”, and if that isn’t Michael/Adam to a T...maybe this will be the episode we see him team up to fight God. I’m not sure who the last line might refer to other than Sam, if you have any ideas feel free to tell me.
And after all this, we have the big one.

“Carry On” is referring to “Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas, and I don’t have a clue what it will entail. If the previous episode goes well, then this will be a sort of epilogue, with a (hopefully) happy ending for TFW, maybe we see Eileen and Sam get together, some kind of family dinner with Jody and the girls to resolve that plot line, or potentially, if the writers plan on doing it, a scene confirming Destiel.
It’d be interesting if they showed the brothers going on a normal, run-of-the-mill hunting trip, like a simple salt-and-burn, or even a (different) woman in white. It would be a nice way to bookend the story, to end on a hunt, but instead of the brothers on their own, it’s the brothers with the help of everyone they’ve come to know and care about in their journey, all the lives they’ve touched.
If, however, the conflict is not resolved by the end of the previous episode, this could be the resolution and epilogue all rolled into one, though if it were me I would want as much time as possible to resolve any lingering character questions because, at the end of the day, Supernatural has survived because of the characters. They are what people stay for, what they watch for.
Reminder that all of this is speculation. I do not know what will happen, this is just how I think the story could progress based on what we know so far.
For better or for worse, at this point Supernatural will be over. Will they do a perfect job? Probably not. This is Supernatural, it’s not the most perfect show. However, I’m excited to see where the writers will go with it. They have their work cut out for them.

Brother Knows Best Part [1/?] Tony Stark x Brother Male Reader]
This is something I came up with two days ago and it is unedited. But I have a big idea and i'm planning in writing it as a one shot that contains for or five chapters long. So if you like this first chapter let me know and I will be happy to work on part two. I hope you enjoy my crappy writing and let me know if you want me to tag you on the chapters.
WORD COUNT: 4,180 takes place in the middle of infinity war and endgame.
"Take care of your brother for me [M/N] we'll be back in no time." That was the last time I ever saw my Mother and Father alive before they died in a car crash.
It has now being more than two decades since it happen. I was twenty six years old while my younger brother Tony was twenty one. I'm the oldest of the two but not everyone knows about me.
Ever since the death of my parent's Tony became distant not that we we're ever close to begin with. But he simply didn't want to see me anymore. Which of course, hurt me seeing him act this way towards me. But, it was his choice and there was nothing that could convince or change his mind about the decision he wanted to choose. I had resigned from Stark Industries because Tony wanted to take over the industries and quite friankly I didn't want work there anymore.
I was able to start out fresh in another country. So what better place than to start out fresh where no one knows about your family name than in Tokyo Japan. I had become a high school teacher for psychical education. The first year was a bit difficult to understand and learn japanese when I had arrived but during the second year living here I was able to pick up every word and enjoyed their culture and festivals very much. With the money that I had saved I was able to rent an apartment in a good neighborhood. Being a foreigner here people where nice and helped me a lot especially when it came to riding the trains. At first it could be confusing at firs till at least you get the hang of them. The staff of the school where I work in have all being helpful and caring since the day I joined them.
The students I first taught where good kids they where a bit crazy knowing they would be getting a foreigner for a teacher. Even though I couldn't really speak their language it was fun to see them try and speak english. I got along well with them which was amazing since it could be difficult when teaching high school students. But after being here for more than four years i'm able to communicate with them just fine.
I made good friends on here too some of them are from the staff while other's I met out in the streets I also got to meet someone special here. "[F/L] Sensei someone's here to see you in the office." Said a young voice that belong to a student. I had decided to fake my last name because in Japan they had technology that only Stark Industries could only create.
"Thanks, Yuki i'll go right away. Alright everyone take a break while I come back." I yelled as I took off running to the main office inside the school. I speed walk down the hallway till I finally reached the small faculty room. "[F/L] Sensei there's someone who wants to see you in the principal's office." A staff member said. I bow and said thank you before knocking on the door and hearing a come in. I opened the door to find the principal and my pregnant wife of three months talking before I walked in shutting the door after me.
"[F/L] Sensei, your wife is here to see you. I'll leave you two to talk." The principal said smiling wide at me before leaving us alone. I walked over and hugged her.
"Aiko what are you doing here didn't you have your appointment today with the doctor? Is the baby alright." I asked worried as she returned the hug.
Aiko shook her head smiling up at me. "The baby is fine I have a suprise for you." She said taking out something from inside her bag. It was a white medium bag. "Open it." I took it from her and slowly opened it inside was a blue shirt that had english words written on it with a small picture in the bottom of the bag. The shirt said "Daddy's boy." Written in white.
I took a look at the picture of the baby and dropped the bag and shirt on the table behind me and crushed Aiko in a big hug. I kissed the top of her head and smiled while looking at the picture of my son. "I still can't believe i'm finally having a family of my own." I whispered to myself looking up at the cieling thinking about how happy my parents would had being if they where still alive.
After school ended Aiko decided to stay there and wait for me till the last class was done so her and I went walking home together. The school was about two blocks away from where we live. Aiko and I walked down the streets holding hands along with the students who made their way home. I had changed from my track suit before leaving into regular clothing that was just a plain white shirt and some blue jeans. Aiko wore a nice summer white dress with some sandles. "Ne, [M/N] can we go to the convience store for some snacks?" Aiko asked.
"Of course, anything you want infact i'm craving some rice curry from there." I said smiling at her. Aiko nodded rubbing circles on her small bump with her right hand. As we continued to walk down the street I kept looking back taking a few glances here and there. I had a feeling someone was following us. Unware of my wife's glance she worried but I assured her that everything was fine. A few minutes later we had finally arrived to the small convience store around the corner. Behind a tree I noticed a tall figure hiding. Feeling a bit unsure about this person I let Aiko go inside the store and said to go inside while I went back to the school because I forgot some papers and would be right back. I speed walking away until I saw go inside and walked careful to the man who has being following us. I tricked the guy and climbed on the tree next to it glaring down at him.
"How did you find me here." I stated more than a question. I crossed my arms not leaving my eyes off him.
"I just wanted to see how you where doing it's been a long time since I last heard anything about you."
"There's always a reason why you suddenly show up so cut the crap Fury. What the hell are you doing here?" I said angrily.
"First come down from there I see, you still remember all that training you did when you where younger. Alright you caught me but first come down from that tree people will think i'm crazy if they see me talking to myself." He said.
I sigh. Before coming down the tree I walked over to him to face Fury. "Alright i'm down now what is it." I spoke eyeing him and the store that Aiko is in.
"I don't have a clue if here in Japan or if you have seen it in the news but Tony has being known as Iron Man he's part of The Avengers. A super hero team who saves people back in New York."
I laughed. "Seriously.... Tony a super hero, and The Avengers? Really you came all this way to tell me that. Your pulling my finger Fury. Tony is a selfish guy he doesn't care about anyone or anything just look at me he didn't give two shits about me! The only thing he's ever cared about is drinking and having a good time with girls that's all he's good for. Seriously they seriously couldn't come up with a better name than the Avengers? Yea, I don't bite it and if it was true then I never heard of them nor do I want to know about them either. And I don't want to know anything about Tony either. Tony isn't capable of becoming a hero." I turned my back facing him. "Whatever your plan was for coming here isn't going to work. I have a family of my own now anything Tony does isn't any of my business nor my problem."
"I understand you have a beautiful wife and a baby on the way but, I want you to come back to New York. The Avengers aren't having a good time right now especially with what's happened in Sakovia. Tony needs you the team could use someone with your skills. I get it that your family is important to you but you can't walk away from your brother."
I crossed my arms and roll my eyes. "Family doesn't walk away and turn their back on you. And that's something I will never do to mine. He's a grown up now not a little kid who needs guidence from someone like me. My kid won't ever know about him nor carry the Stark name either. So now that Tony needs me he remembers that I exist, no because to my he died the same day my parent's did. I no longer have a brother so leave and never come back here again because next time I won't hold back." I glanced at him before walking away and not taking a look back. I wiped the tear with my hand and smiled seeing Aiko through the window before standing in the middle of the street looking between her and where Fury used to stand.
I walked inside the store and looked for Aiko. I found her on the isle of the bread and drinks. I kissed her cheek to see her carry a basket with food. I took it from her and carried it with my right hand. "I was getting worried where you able to find those documents?" She asked politely.
I nodded." Yeah, I found the documents I dropped them at the office. So what do you have all here are you sure you will be able to eat all this?"
"What are you emplying that I eat too much food huh?" She yelled angry. I shook my head.
Here come her mood swings. "Not at all hun, I was just asking because I never seen you eat some of these. For instance you don't like sugary foods and you have four boxes of chocolates that contain way too much sugar." Aiko suddenly hugged me and cried. "Hey, it's okay hun no need to cry about it. You can buy them only if you don't eat all of them today."
"Thank you [M/N] alright what if we buy some potato chips and eat them with a spicy ramen." Aiko walked to the next aisle looking for ramen. I sigh before following behind her. While she talked to herself I couldn't help but remember the days after my parent's death.
FLASHBACK
Tony had locked himself inside his room after the funeral of our parents. The house was packed with people who knew our father and mother. There was also people from the Stark Industries who worked with my father including Hank. Being the oldest I had the responsibilities of taking care of everything but it was overwhelm. People all dressed in black suits giving their sorrys to me while Tony wouldn't come out of his room. I was out of excuses whenever they would ask about him and said he wasn't feeling well or he was simply not here. But I knew that he was probably drinking his pain away. When everyone left I untied my tie tossing it to the sofa. I stood up hearing Tony's sobbing and cursing out every word he ever knew about. I sigh, I quickly made my way to his room but the door was locked. I bang on his door quite a few times. "Open the door Tony we need to talk." I yelled.
"Leave me alone you can't boss me anymore [M/N] so but the fuck off." He yelled back. I continued to bang on his door until my fist couldn't take it anymore. So I kicked the door with my foot. I saw Tony falling from his bed wearing pyjamas holding a glass of wisky in one hand and a bottle on the other. "What the hell did you do to my door asshole!" Tony yelled tackling me but quickly I moved away from him grabbing him by the back of his shirt. I used my strenght throwing him to his bed. I took the bottle and glass away from him smashing it to the floor.
"Calm down, I know how you feel you aren't the only one in pain. I lost them too Tony you can't be acting this way!" Tony stood from his bed pointing his finger at me.
"Shut up, I don't want to hear you. Do you know how much I have hated you? You think I never noticed how much they perferred you over me!? All they would say is 'Why can't you be more like [M/N]?' 'Why can you be smart like him?' 'You are nothing like your big brother.' I'm tired of hearing all of that shit!" I could smell his breath smelling of alchol as he stood right in front of me glaring.
I knelt my eyebrows in anger. My right hand turned to a fist shaking trying my best not to punch him in the face this very moment. "Look. Your drunk and have no clue what you're saying so go to bed." I moved away from him picking up the glass and bottle that had broken. My back faced him as I picked it up. "I i'm so glad that I don't act like you do because I would have been so miserable living the life you so call have. Or should I call you Mr. Howard Jr. President of the Stark Industries. I seriously can't wait to see how you run it all by yourself without dad's help." Tony said popping the p at the end of his sentence.
I stood up from the floor to face him once more. Tony had a big smirk on his face. "You have no idea how much pressure it's taken on me since before you where even born. From day one I was expected to be incharge of dad's industries. I wasn't allowed to have a normal childhood. I didn't become the intelligent Tony Stark winning medals at a young age. I'm sorry that you always felt that way towards me. But you don't need to worry about me because I heard you argue with him before they left about wanting to take over the company so your wish has come true little brother it's all yours because I quit." I shouted walking out of his room. I toss the bottle in the kitchen and walked back to the living room and grabbed my tie before marching to my room.
I grabbed the suit cases I had inside my closet and begin to pack all of my clothes inside. I grabbed everything from jeans, to shirts, to sweat pants and just started to unhook everything from the hangers and into the suitcase. I only had two suitcases so in the other one I placed all of my suits and belongings. Once I had finished packing I grabbed the picture that I had hanging in the wall and put it on top of the clothes so it wouldn't get broken. I took the picture from the glass and ripped the end of the picture throwing it on the floor. A tear escaped from my eye as I looked at it before placing it back and zipping the bag. I turned around yanking another picture frame of Tony and I together when we where younger. I slammed it on the floor stepping on it cracking the frame and ripping the picture in half. I grabbed ny suitcases stopped in the doorframe before taking a look at my old room before slamming the door shut and leaving. When I walked passed Tony's room he was already knocked out on the bed. I was so angry that I didn't bother to say my goodbyes and walked out of the house. I had joined S.H.I.E.L.D and got training for about ten years years with Fury's help who was able to keep it under cover. But after being there I realized that working for them or the training was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life so that's when I decided to leave for Japan.

"Alright your change will be 400 yen." Said a voice snapping my head to the person. It was the cashier I nodded taking my change and grabbing the bag from the counter. Aiko and I left the store holding each other's hands. Outside the store she ate a snack as we walk making our way home. The walk home was peaceful and quiet but seeing Fury and talking about Tony brought too many memories that I haven't had for a long time.
As the months continued to past it turned to two years I tried to live my life as always except now that we have a toddler who's almost three years old makes it difficult because he just wants to walk and try to take things inside his mouth all over the house. The first couple of months where a bit hard because becoming a first time parent has it's challenges. Guessing when they need a change of diaper, or when they want to take a nap. But one thing that I definatly won't miss is my son's crying in the middle of the night. Aiko took maternity leave after she had our son but I told her its best if she stays at home becoming a fulltime mom because I don't want him not be surrounded by his parent's. I want Yuki to feel love and live a happy childhood so he could remember all the good times he had growing up. I want to spoil him when he's a bit older and take him on family trips. I just simply want him to have the life that I never had.
I just got home from work. So slowly I knocked on the door waiting to see Aiko and Yuki. A few seconds later the door opened revealing them smiling happily at me. "Welcome home." Aiko said as Yuki reached for me wanting to be carried. I peck Aiko in the lips while sweeping the baby from her arms and walked inside together. I took off my shoes in the small entrance then followed her to the living room.
I took a seat in the couch with Yuki in my lap. "Dinner's about to be ready do you want a cold beer or a glass of water?" She asked walking to the kitchen.
"A beer would be nice with this weather right now anything cold cools you down. Thanks hun, so what have you done today." I asked turning my attention back to Yuki. Yuki only stared back at me smiling and giggling. "Are you excited for this weekend buddy? Where finally going on vacation with your grandparents." The baby babbled none sense and continued to play with his favorite plushy. "Alright dinner's ready." I got up from the couch with Yuki on my arms. I took a seat in the chair as Aiko served dinner. She came back to the dinner table with a bowl of rice and another plate of meat with vegetables. She then carried Yuki in her arms and sat on the other chair next to me.
After dinner I had taken Yuki inside the warm bathroom for his bath time. I had a pair of boxers and got inside the tub with him in my arms. I had brought a few toys of his to play with and ran the water in good temperature not so cold and not too hot either. I grabbed a small plastic blue bowl placing it under the running water and began to shower him. I them grabbed the baby shampoo and washed his couple of small hairs of his head. Next I rinsed the shampoo of his head and covered his eyes with my free hand so the soap wouldn't get inside his eyes. Yuki splashed water wetting my face. I glared down at him with a funny face causing more giggles to come out of him. Yuki looks Japanese but has my eye color and smile but the rest of his characteristics are the same as Aiko's which makes me happy that he doesn't have a trait from my side of the family. "I'm going to teach you English when your older young man." I said in English but he didn't seem to care about a clue of what I said. Aiko knows both languages as well so we want him to learn to speak it as he gets older. Anyway, then afterwards I let him play in the water with his toys for a couple of minutes before finishing his shower.
After I had finished him shower Aiko came and took him to his room to get him dressed while I took a shower. I was in deep thoughts thinking about work when suddenly I had heard a yell and stuff being thrown around. I closed the water and put a towel around my waist running out of the bathroom to my son's room. Forgot to mention but it was already pass eight at night time when I was showering. When I got to the room I saw Aiko holding Yuki in her arms cornered by a woman with blond hair and wore black gear. The woman turned around at the sound of my steps.
She smirked after taking a look at me. "I'm sorry to interrupt your shower but I need you to come with me." I walked up to her glaring.
"Who the hell are you? Get away from my family." I yelled grabbing her from the arm throwing her to the wall. Aiko and Yuki looked at me scared but I was standing confront of them protecting them from the mystery woman. Too busy to noticed I failed to see Aiko placing a hand over her plain stomach.
The woman got up from the floor and stood up. "I'm not here to do anything dangerous to you or your family but Fury gave me your address and we need you to help us. The world is in great danger."
I shook my head and clinched my hands into fist angry. "I already told Fury i'm not going back to New York your part of the famous avengers aren't you? Then saving the world from evil is part of your job not mine. I'm never going back so leave my house before I throw you out myself." I said through my teeth.
"Tony's missing." She responded back. I stood silent as she took out a phone showing me a clip of the news. Two creatures in the middle of a destroyed New York.
"What's going on [M/N]." Spoke Aiko lowering her voice. And putting Yuki on the ground. I looked at them three before walking over to her. "There's something you need to know Aiko.... I have lied to you my last name isn't [Fake Last Name] my real name is Stark and i'm from New York. I used to be a part of SHIELD bu-
A sudden slap made it's way to my left cheek. I turned my head away then looked back at Aiko who had tears coming down her cheeks. She back away from me and took a glance at Yuki who also began to cry. "Get out of my house I never want to see you again. Get out and leave us alone!" She yelled in anger.
"Let me explain I didn't want you and our son to be in danger I had to lie to you but i'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you." Aiko pushed my hand off her arm and walked out of the room and left the apartment with a crying Yuki.
After I heard the door shut I sigh thinking about what to do. But even though I still had a grudge against Tony I had to find him especially after seeing those creatures. "What's your name?" I asked.
"Natasha Romanoff I go by Black Widow i'm sorry about your wife and kid but if this wasn't truly important I wouldn't had been given orders by Fury to come find you. But the earth and everyone are in danger including here in Japan."
"I guess there's no way running away from what you became right? Shield or anything to do with Tony will always come looking for me. Alright where are we going?" I asked as much as it pains me to leave my family.
"Scotland."

Offended (part I)

Hello my friends, I'm bringing you a new chronicles from this series from season 6!
I thought I could make this in one part but... Is a very extended topic. We need to talk about why and how much offended Dean was with CAS and Cas was with Dean in the firsts episodes of this season. So... I'm gonna need to parts for that.
Sorry I will be very critic with Sera Gamble's work in these two seasons. Because I found a lot of Wincest, inconsistences, disorganization and "out of character" behaviors in season 6 plot line. But I think you should know by now what I'm talking about. Putting that by a side, we had a lot of Destiel (angsty and cruel Destiel) scenes that need our attention.

Ok, no more cháchara. Let's start with this...
Dean is Offended with Cas
As I started to explain in the previous chronicle. We can infer Dean didn't call Cas in one entire year bc the last time they saw, Cas flee away without saying goodbye the same day Dean had lost his brother.
But when Dean heard from Sam he was calling Cas for one year and Cas didn't appear... DEAN'S face was priceless, he was surprised. But after this... We will see he add more anger to it. First of all, Cas didn't say goodbye, and came back to Heaven, so Dean didn't call him. But now... There was a good excuse, a good "no gay" excuse to be mat at CAS...
Cas didn't respond Sam's prayers
Episode 6x03 called "The third Man" was written by the talented Edlund. When Sam and Dean discovered angelical signs in the air, Dean decided to call Cas... After an entire year. A good excuse to make a pray.
DEAN: We should call Cas.
SAM: You're kidding, right? [ Scoffs ] Dean, I tried. It was the first and second and third thing I did, soon as I got topside. Son of a bitch won't answer the phone.
DEAN: [Sitting on a bed. ] Well, let's give it a shot. Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray to Castiel to get his feathery ass down here.
Why is Dean so sure CAS will answer him? He tried anyway, knowing Sam had called him and prayed him a lot of time for one entire year. But even so, Dean tried. Maybe he knew deep inside Cas will answer HIM, because maybe deep inside he knew his relationship with CAS was different in comparison with Sam and Cas relationship.
And Cas appeared...
This was huge. Because he didn't appeared when Sam called him but WHEN DEAN CALLED HIM. Tracing the big difference between CAS/Dean and Cas/Sam. I will put the "profound bond" meaning later on this meta, I actually want to talk about how Dean showed Castiel he was mad at him bc he didn't help his brother, things weren't good between them for Dean, bc he felt abbandoned by him when he most needed him, but bc that was a gay excuse, let's use this one... You didn't help Sam.
Focusing again in Sam, he put aside the meaning of the profound bond
When Dean heard about the profound bond, his facial expression was "what the hell is that?" Where did Cas and him share that kind of "intimate thing"? And very gay to say. He avoided that, and focus the conversation again in Sam.
This is the cause of why Castiel felt offended with Dean...
Cas is now offended with Dean
Everything Castiel does is for Dean, so when he flew away without saying goodbye, Cas went straight to rescue Sam from Hell. (This is the part we won't know till lasts episodes from this season. But when he came back, he saw the same Sam saw: DEAN HAD A FAMILY NOW. So he flew away again to Heaven and then the civil war began.
Maybe he didn't want to disturb Dean and his new life, as everyone else in this show (Bobby, Sam, etc) or maybe he was so busy with battles that time passed by without noticing. Remember time in Heaven runs differently, that's why when CAS asks for help to the Winchesters... Pay attention where Castiel put emphasis...
CASTIEL: Sam, Dean, my "people skills" are "rusty." Pardon me, but I have spent the last "year" as a multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent. But believe me, you do not want that weapon down here. Help me find it. Or more people will die.
This makes us think for Castiel the time is different, and isn't an entire year as it is for Dean or Sam, in Hell it's more but in Heaven? Time is sorter than for us, so... It runs different. So for CAS... Was maybe just a few days...
But let's check why Cas gets mad at Dean...
Dean not giving the importance that their bond deserves, made Cas feel embarrassed and offended.
Castiel appearing right away after Dean's prayer tells us he was just waiting for him to call him. He will be there at the instant Dean would pray to him. He was waiting for his call.
So when he appears, and Sam confront him...
Again HONESTY, honesty in Castiel's words, as always... "I was getting too close to the humans in my charge, you." Remember? He is always honest. And this time he was honest again.
"I wasn't gonna mention it"
This is huge, my friends. Because Cas turns around to watch Dean and lowers his voice!!!!! Like "THIS IS SOMETHING WE KNOW WE HAVE BETWEEN US."
Castiel thought Dean knew it too. And he thought it was a kind of secret between them. He thought Dean will be honest too, because as an angel he knows what is going on between them, something different and profound. Something special, not just a friendship. But Dean put that face, and didn't give the importance this "profound bond" between them had. So then Cas thought Dean didn't feel the same way. And this was why Castiel felt offended. And embarrassed. He had had just confessed something huge, a secret he thought he shared with Dean, and Dean was acting as if that was a lie.
Then...
Cas changed the subject with a very "jiltter lover" attitude
Look how Castiel changes the subject... Very offended...
Is a very sassy attitude... "So... What we have it means nothing to you? Ok... So... I didn't come bc you called me." He wanted to infringe on Dean the same hurting words he had just given him.
And Dean reacts as a jiltter lover too...
DEAN: Oh, well, it's nice to know what matters.
CASTIEL: It does help one to focus.
And Cas being sassy again.
This is like watching two offended lovers, throwing bombs to each other. So, from now on, we will have two upset schoolboys in love, being sassy and bossy with each other. That's a topic for the next Chronicle.
To conclude:
Dean was mad at CAS bc he didn't say goodbye to him, he didn't came to see him knowing he had just lost his brother. That's why he didn't call him. He found out Cas didn't answer Sam's calls for one year, and he found in this an excuse to show himself mad at Cas. A more reliable motive. When he had the opportunity he calls Castiel, knowing deep inside he will answer him.
But even so, he avoids any attempt that could show his special relationship with the angel. When Sam asked Cas "YOU LIKE HIM MORE THAN ME?" Dean "translate" the meaning of this words with a "WHAT SAM WANTS TO SAY IS..." Avoiding the really reason why Cas answered him right away. And the second avoidance he does is when Castiel talks about their PROFOUND BOND.
Castiel gets mad at Dean because of that, because honest as he always is, he confirmed their special relationship, as a secret between them, and seeing Dean reacting like that, made him feel embarrassed and disturbed. So he began to act as a jiltter lover.
The thing is ... They missed each other but no one will say it. Period. 🤣🤣

Hello, lovely! I'm the anon inquiring after the buckysurvives!au--thank you so much for taking the time for my questions omg. I would be absolutely tickled if you could drop some angst bombs from the multiverse where Quinn saves Bucky in '48 (you can even answer for Bucky in his au, however this moves you or most makes sense), and what their reunion might look like? Do they get married right away?? Or is it more of a slow burn from healing to grieving... I'm so messed up about your work, bless.
Funny story. You asked for angst and I guess there’s a little, but. I used your prompt as an excuse for shameless Quinn and Bucky fluff. I would say sorry, but I’m not. I needed this after Endgame.
There’re aches all over—in her neck because all she’s done is sleep in this room, in her back because all she’s been is hunched over this bed, in her hand because all it’s been is wrapped around his since she could come be at his side. At this point, it’d be easier to point out the places that don’t hurt. A walk in that place that he was held in…it’d been like a trip to hell. It was hard to leave alive and in one piece, even harder when she had another unconscious person to take out with her, but she did it.
To be honest, around the time she walked out with his arm over her shoulder, there wasn’t another soul alive in that place. What she saw in there, what she saw had been done to him and what was about to be done to him, it became their tomb. She had to blow it all up to hide the evidence of what she’d done to make them pay. She supposes there’s a lot she’ll have to explain when she meets her maker. Well, no, she won’t. She doesn’t feel much sorry that she saved her soulmate, especially from a place and people like that.
From there, it’s been a wild ride. She’d carried him back to the camp, as slow a process as that’d been. The trip back to America was hectic and tense—when she was awake because the whole ordeal had taken a toll on her, too. She suspects she’ll be ripped a whole new asshole because she went solo without backup, but she’d been shot, so it’d been put on the backburner. Their plane landed in New York and they were both rushed to the hospital. Before they put her under to take the bullet out, she slurred out an order for someone to call in his family.
Other than that, she’s not sure she’s slept an actual wink since her soul mark went dark. Adrenaline had kept her awake, but then the dust settled, and she couldn’t keep her eyes open another second. This position, hunched over next to him, it isn’t exactly the most comfortable, but the bed is soft. She must’ve dozed and that’s bad. The doctors don’t know when he’ll wake up or what shape he’ll be in when he does. But, Lord, someone has their hand in her hair and it’s nice. So damn nice. She could melt down in this chair. No, she could take another nap. Yeah, that seems like a lot nicer plan…
“…not ruin this. So what if she came to save you? I’ve known her three years now. This is not a woman who will sit back and let someone else save her soulmate. Do you know what Pop called her? A spitfire. That’s exactly what she is and I’m proud to have her as a part of this family. Oh, but do not tell her that he said that about her. Anyway, dear, if you don’t think I wouldn’t have been there with her if I’d known about this before then I’ve raised a fool out of you, James Barnes.” That’s Missus Winnie, isn’t it? “Son, please. Don’t pout. The doctors wouldn’t let her be in this room with us if she was in such terrible shape. She’s here. More importantly, you’re here.”
“Last time I checked, she wasn’t a soldier. Look at how hurt she is, Ma.” That…is a voice she’s only heard in her dreams.
To hear it—to hear him, it kicks her heart into overdrive. Adrenaline is back now. Would it be considered nerves here? Fuck. She doesn’t know. Oh, God. Now, her brain moves at a million miles a minute. Okay, she should open her eyes. Make sure this isn’t a dream. So, she snaps up in her chair, and it’s so fast that she’s shocked she doesn’t have whiplash. His attention snaps over to her and she stares back at him with wide eyes. Jesus, she hopes her mouth hasn’t dropped open in sheer awe.
Bucky is here, Quinn realizes. He’s here. His dark hair is choppy and unkempt. Gray eyes are exhausted and tell of more horrors than even she saw but are also as relieved to see her as she is to see him. His hand was the one in her hair because he drops it away from her face. He reaches out to take her hand in his and squeezes hard and she repeats the action. The corner of his mouth lifts a little and…and God have mercy, she could kiss him. That’s what she wants to do. She wants to kiss every inch of this beautiful man—those plump lips, the dimple in his chin, the marks on his skin, the scars around the arm he’s lost…everywhere.
Missus Winnie covers her mouth to hide a smile and stands up. Quinn assumes it’s to let her and Bucky have a moment alone, but that’s rude as hell. She was raised better than that. He’s back from the dead. Quinn shouldn’t automatically have all time with him because he’s her soulmate. “No! No, you…you should have some time alone without me. You’re his momma. Don’t let me push you out like this—”
“Quinn,” she interrupts sternly and levels Quinn with an expression that makes Quinn slowly slide back down in her seat. “You’re soulmates. You can have some time alone with each other.” She walks over to the other side of the bed where Quinn is and briefly touches her cheek. “I have all the time in the world with him now and it’s all because of you. Thank you.”
“I didn’t—”
“Not another word.” Smartly, Quinn decides it’s best to shut the hell up. Missus Winnie reminds Quinn too much of her own ma. Momma DuPont, too. Maybe all mommas are like that. Missus Winnie smiles, leans down to kiss the top of her head, and quietly leaves the room.
So, now it’s Quinn and Buck all alone in this room. She moves her head back around to stare at him some more. It’s…rude, probably, but she can’t help it. He’s more beautiful than words can say because he’s here and he’s alive and he’s with her. Good Lord, her brain melted? It must have. “Hi,” she blurts stupidly to only prove more that she doesn’t have a brain left inside her skull.
“Hi, Quinn,” he whispers fondly.
In her head, while she waited on him to wake up, Quinn swore that she wouldn’t bust out into tears on him. She remembers how much he hated to see her upset. Fuck all that mental preparation did because tears start to roll down her cheeks now. She feels the need to repeat that…he’s here. Quinn has her Bucky back. Horrible how it happened, but a miracle all the same. She tries to wipe at her cheeks, but the tears don’t stop. Horrified, she quickly drops her forehead down on the bed so he can’t see her face and she doesn’t have to embarrass herself any worse. Still, she does clutch his hand…hard. She’s not sure that she’ll ever be able to let him be out of reach of her.
Her sob is muffled by the sheets. “I’m sorry. This ain’t how I planned this to happen, but I can’t help it.” She pauses and then moans in irritation. “Okay, I didn’t have no actual plan, but I know I didn’t want to sit here and cry like a baby. I…I have you back and I don’t even know how to tell you how—Jesus Christ. What the fuck do I say?”
“Baby doll.” A whole shudder wracks her body. How many years has it been since she’s heard that? Wait. There’s a tremor in his voice that makes her poke her head back up. Oh. There are tears in his eyes, too. “Sweetheart, I’m only happy you broke out the tears before me. It’s okay. It’s really fuckin’ okay. I never thought I’d see you again. Please come up here. I want you next to me.”
Technically, she’s not supposed to, but the door’s closed. The worst that’ll happen is a lecture. Maybe someone will have pity because they’re soulmates. God, she aches. She’s ached three whole years. Quinn moves faster than is probably humanly possible, but so does he. He scoots over to make room and then she’s there. They’re there. She wraps her arms around him, he wraps his one around her shoulders, and she does what she wanted. She kisses him everywhere she can reach. Except his lips. She’ll save the first kiss for a better, more romantic time.
“I love you,” Quinn tells him between kisses on his forehead, his cheeks, his nose, his dimple, his neck. “I love you so much. I won’t ever let you out of my sight ever again, you hear me? I won’t let anyone separate us. Not even death himself will come take you from me. You’re stuck with me, Barnes.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m yours. I’m all fuckin’ yours.”
Quinn hoped that she’d have a little more time until she had to have this particular conversation. Yeah, she knew it’d have to happen, but…not this soon. So, it comes like a sucker punch when a whole two days after he woke up, he stares out the window in his hospital room and quietly demands, “Tell me what happened to Steve.” There’s no one else in the room since the Barnes family went back home to clean up, eat, and make some space for Bucky. Immediately, at the name of their soulmate, she blanches which should be an answer itself. “They—” he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. “They told me he was dead. They showed me…papers and then they told me you were alive, said if I cooperated then they’d let you live.” Oh. That they. “I didn’t want to believe it, but he’s not here. So, talk.”
What’s she supposed to tell him that won’t make him feel like it’s his fault? Because, truly, on the day, all that they did was for Bucky. “You have to understand,” she starts shakily, “that you were dead.” Steve and Bucky were both so close for so many years that the loss of him broke Steve more than Quinn would’ve ever been able to fix. “We stormed down the last castle because we found out where Schmidt was holed up. There was a plane and…he wouldn’t have let me come. Schmidt and Steve went in the air and he stopped the Red Skull, but the plane was headed to New York with a bomb and—”
This has been an emotional week, so she doesn’t think it’s unreasonable to cry. “I talked to him while it went down,” she tries to explain but it’s hard to do past the tears. “I tried all I could to make him stay. I pretty much proposed to him, I tried to see if someone could find him some coordinates—I tried. I swear I did. I wanted to tell him to fuck the world, to come back home, but—” he didn’t want to live in a world without Bucky. “We lost him. I’m…I’m sorry, Bucky. I…” She tries to swallow past the lump in her throat and sobs instead. “I wish he could be here.”
“Yeah,” Bucky says thickly and reaches down to touch his leg. The leg that has Steve’s faded mark on it. He closes his eyes and here they are, tears on their cheeks again. “Yeah, I wish he was here, too.” He moves his arm around her shoulders, pulls her close, and buries his face into her hair. “God…damn it, Steve,” he whispers brokenly to the ghost in the room. “Goddamn you.” Quinn holds on as it slams into Bucky, the reality and the grief, because she knows what it’s like to do this alone and no one should have to deal with that.
Today marks the day—the last day that Bucky will be at the hospital. Really, both he and Quinn have recovered quicker than the doctors ever expected. From across the room, Quinn watches as he tries and fails to button up his shirt. It’s nice, she thinks, to see him in clothes that aren’t army issued. Suspenders shouldn’t look so nice, especially when they’re not even up over his shoulders yet. She…she never had this with Bucky, this outside life. Steve did, but not her. God, this is what they had all dreamed about and…there’s a sudden ache, square in her chest.
“Here,” she murmurs because any louder and he’ll know she’s upset. No need to worry him like that. This is his day, after all. She won’t ruin it. “Let me do it.” She sidles up close to him, tries not to plaster herself across his chest like she wants to. He doesn’t respond like she thinks he would—his eyes shut down and he clenches his jaw like he’s mad at her. It confuses her, but then her brain catches up with how this could look to him. “No. It ain’t that.” It isn’t because she has pity on him, doesn’t think he can do it himself. It’s that she can’t do this on her own. How has she spent three whole years without them? “I…I want to be close with you, okay? That’s all.”
Her hands slide over his shoulders to help relax him and he does, but she made a mistake when she locked eyes with him. His irritation makes way for worry because there are tears in her eyes. “Quinn, what’s—”
“I’ve missed you. It hit me. Just now. I went and realized that I didn’t think I’d ever have this.” His expression softens and he wipes away the lone tear that rolls down her cheek. She leans into the touch, turns her head to kiss the center of his palm. “I’m sorry. I swear I don’t mean to break out the waterworks so much.” Then, she sets out what she planned to and helps finish the rest of the buttons. Bucky probably thinks she’s full of shit, but he doesn’t press her to open up about what the real problem is. Maybe he doesn’t want to know.
There’s a hole between them now…where Steve is supposed to be. Their lives will always be a little darker without him in it. It must be like salt on Bucky’s wounds. He hasn’t had time to settle in and accept a splintered soul like Quinn has. She knew this would happen. Their souls are in better shape compared to what it’d be like on their own, the loss of two soulmates on their hearts, but that still won’t make them all the way whole. They never will be, she supposes.
“Now you have it. You have me,” Bucky reminds her. “Remember that, yeah?”
“Always,” she promises. Once she snaps his suspenders over his shoulders, she takes a step back. “I should head back to my hotel now.” He looks at her, alarmed. “Look, I know that your momma will tan my hide over this, but I won’t come with y’all. I don’t wanna butt in on your family plans.” He opens his mouth to complain and she puts her hands on her hips. “Uh-uh. No, sir. They deserve time alone with you without me in the middle. I don’t care what Missus Winnie says about the…hero deal. Whatever. We can, uh—I can take you out for dinner? How’s that sound?”
He throws his arm up in surrender. “Fine. I’ll let you hash it out with my ma, but you won’t win when she comes for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Hours later, there’s a knock on her hotel room’s door and when she opens it, Bucky smiles at her, but it’s small and too forced to be true. Worriedly, she reaches out to touch his cheek. Her poor soulmate looks tired as hell. She decides not to call him out on it because he has every reason to be. Instead, she offers him an out with, “This place Howard set me up with is fancy. I ain’t never had room service before. Want to try it with me?”
Like she said, the hotel is fancy. They serve Quinn and Bucky’s dinner on a silver platter, Jesus. While Bucky carefully places the plates on the mattress, Quinn opens the curtains up. Since her room is so far up, she and Bucky can watch the sun start to set. As beautiful as it may be to someone like her, Bucky watches it…almost like it’s betrayed him. “Brooklyn isn’t the same.” Since it’s only been three years since he’s seen Brooklyn, she thinks the real reason it isn’t the same is because Steve isn’t here with him. “What’s Kentucky like?”
Quinn won’t dawdle on Brooklyn, but there’s not much to say about Kentucky, either. “Hazard’s probably the same as ever.”
“Probably?”
Aw, shit. Fuck, she didn’t even think to tell him about school. “Uh—” she clears her throat. No better time than now. This is a conversation they’ll have to have, anyway. When she enrolled, she didn’t expect her soulmate would come back from the dead. “I, uh…I’ve been in Philadelphia…since the war ended. No. Wait. Not exactly after the war. I did some other…stuff and then I came home. Anyway, I’m—” she blushes and tucks some hair behind her ear. Drops her eyes down to the plate in her lap. “I’m at the Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania now. I…I wanted to be a doctor.”
The fork that Bucky had halfway to his mouth clutters back on his plate and his mouth drops in shock. Quinn startles at the noise. “Get the fuck outta here,” he whispers. His reaction only makes Quinn even more uncomfortable. She didn’t think it was a stupid idea at the time, but maybe he does? “Holy shit. I was right.” She sneaks a peek up at him and his mouth stretches into a smile, one wider than she’s ever seen on him since he woke up. It steals her breath away and she could kiss him, he’s so beautiful. “I told you, didn’t I? That you had the most brains between us? Doctor Quinn Esther Hayden—that’s a catchy title. A real swell name. C’mon, tell me more about it. What’s it been like, huh?”
“Slow down there, cowboy,” she tells him and now she’s as giddy as he is now. They sit there, smile at each other. She didn’t think he’d be this happy. This proud. It makes her chest swell with emotion. “I’ve been there two years now, okay? I’ve only barely started. It’ll be a while before I’m an actual doctor.” She pauses. “I took the rest of this semester off. I…wasn’t sure how you’d…I didn’t know what you’d want to do.”
“This ain’t my decision, Quinn,” he murmurs and reaches out to take her hand. “We’re not married and even then, I wouldn’t try to control you like that. I don’t know what the fuck to do with myself. I won’t hold you back while I try to come up with an idea. What kinda man would I be to not support my soulmate when she has a dream?” Quinn will not cry, she won’t, but he makes it hard. Then, all innocently, he tells her, “I’ve never been to Philadelphia.”
“I think we should fix that, don’t you?”
A little over a year later, when they’re on summer break and have no idea what the fuck to do with themselves. The G.I bill puts Bucky in school and Howard helps keep them comfortable in their apartment. Turns out that Howard likes Bucky a lot more than he does Quinn. You won’t hear her complain, though. Anyway, since they don’t have any plans, Quinn comes up with the brilliant idea of breaking in their apartment. They never really had the chance when they moved in together. Quinn went back to school and Bucky started his first year. See? No time at all. It’s a lie. They definitely broke in this apartment, but Bucky coincidentally doesn’t remember that.
For some reason, Bucky suddenly gets a little…cagey. Well, cagier than usual. He’s become a little more withdrawn since he came home. A war, time spent as a POW, and the loss of a soulmate will do that to a person. So, yeah, that wouldn’t be all that unusual, but he’s also…a little wired? Hell, sometimes he’s like her and seems to want to vibrate out of his skin. Quinn can’t really complain because when he has that look in his eyes, she knows she’ll be pounded into the mattress. She’s just curious what’s with this weird mood he’s been in.
It happens when she least expects it. She attempts to make some pancakes because, God bless him, poor Bucky cooks most of their meals and, damn it, she’s going to learn. She thinks she did pretty decent today. Didn’t even burn that many. Anyway, they’re on a plate by the stove and she’s at the table. Bucky walks into the kitchen, hair a fluffy mess, and she smiles at him. He smiles back, so warm and full of love that she has to duck her head a second because she blushes. He talks over, kisses the top of her head, and then heads over to the countertop to make himself a plate.
“Wanna know what I’ve been thinking about the past couple of weeks?” Bucky asks and it sounds a little too casual.
She tries not to seem too interested or excited because she thinks he’s about to open up about what the hell has had him so wired up. “What’s that, Buck?”
He peeks over his shoulder and smirks at her mischievously. “How much you hate the name Doctor Quinn Hayden.”
“Aw, Buck,” she pouts. Stares down at her plate and stabs at her pancakes while her cheeks turn red again. “I don’t hate it. Just think it’s weird, is all.”
Out of the corner of her eye, she can see him turn around and move toward her. She doesn’t suspect much and pouts down at the table while he hums. “It could be Doctor Barnes.”
“No. See, it’s the doctorpart that messes me up—” the words and what they mean process in her head and her breath hitches. She snaps her head up, but he’s not on his feet anymore. He’s down next to her, on a knee, a little open black box in the middle of his palm. There’s a ring square in the center of the box. “Bucky?” His name comes out as a squeak.
“Quinn—”
And Quinn does what Quinn does best which is run her damn mouth. “Bucky, are you sure? I mean, Lord, you don’t think I’m wife material, do you? I can’t cook! You know how I can be! I’m…I’m stubborn and…and what do you say ‘bout me? I have a hot Irish temper? I do! And your daddy says I’m a spitfire. Got a foul mouth and throw a punch before I talk. Ain’t you heard how them fellas talk about me at your school when I come to see you?”
Bucky puts the box on the table and she thinks he’s wizened up. Because, yeah, they…they’re soulmates and they live with each other, but…it’s true. Men will shake their head at Quinn and she can hear them murmur how unlucky Bucky is to end up with a lady that doesn’t know her place. It hurts, of course it does, but it’s all true.
“Hey, Quinn, look at me,” Bucky orders softly and puts his hand on her cheek. “Don’t you know I love you because you’re a spitfire? Yeah, I’ve heard those assholes. I’d knock them in their fucking teeth if I wouldn’t get kicked out of school. I don’t want what they do. I don’t want some little southern belle that’ll listen to my every word. I fell in love with you because you don’t take anyone’s shit—especiallymine. The world wants you to be quiet and, baby, you scream at ‘em. I love that. You know who you are and don’t let anyone change you.”
Quinn didn’t realize she’d started to cry until she tries to take a breath and sobs. He wipes a thumb under her eye, catches only one tear out of many. “You have savedme. You know that?” Now, there are tears in his eyes, too. “I wanted to die, but you wouldn’t let me, even before you came to drag my ass out of there.” His hand moves around the back of her neck and he pulls her down to brush his lips over hers briefly. “Goddamn it, you made me fall in love with you and now you’re stuck with me.” He picks that box back up and presses it in her hand. “Quinn Esther Hayden, will you marry me?”
Quinn sobs and nods furiously. “Yes,” she blurts. “Yeah, Doctor Quinn Barnes sounds a whole lot better.”
They tie the knot in late July because on this, Bucky’s as impatient as her. Oh, and they want to marry before the new semester starts at their schools. It took a lot to have everyone show up on such short notice, but their families are there. Even the one they made in the war. Hell, even Colonel Phillips showed up.
It’s beautiful and Quinn almost keeps her shit together until they give each other their ring. Bucky had come up with the idea to melt their dog tags and shape them into a wedding band. War is hell and it took nearly everything from them, but the truth is they never would’ve met without it.
Around their necks, hidden underneath their clothes, are Steve’s dog tags.
In January of 1950, Quinn’s only three months away from graduating and then heading to medical school. But then, she spends an entire week hunched over the toilet in the morning, Bucky holding her hair and rubbing her back. That still doesn’t stop her, though. She won’t be able to start getting her doctorate yet, but you can bet your ass she walks up on that stage to get her damn diploma.
And when they make it back to their apartment, after the dinners and celebrations, Bucky helps ease her out of her graduation robes and sweeps his hand down along the gentle swell of her stomach.
It marks five years since Steve put the plane down on March 4, 1950.
Lana Grant Barnes comes into their lives exactly seven months later on October 4, 1950.
Quinn and Bucky are squished together in the hospital bed and run their hands over their baby, in complete and total awe. They touch her soft, dark mess of hair. Quinn brushes her hand over the little dimple in Lana’s chin. Her little girl coos and blinks open blue eyes that Bucky swears are Quinn’s and not his. She’s beautiful. The most beautiful goddamn thing Quinn has ever seen in her entire life.
Little Lana tries to close a chubby hand around the dog tag that hangs down from Quinn’s neck, the one with Steve’s name. She leans down so she can press a kiss to her baby’s forehead and closes her eyes. April was the end to one chapter in their lives, Quinn suddenly realizes. Here, in October, with Lana…she’s the start to a new one. She knows how her pa felt, when he left New York, went to Kentucky, met Ma, and had Quinn. A fresh start.
Quinn will always remember Steve, will always love him, but she decides it’s time to put him to rest in her heart.

Hey, fantastic job with your metas! I don't know if you've already posted a thorough article on what you expect or think IX will be, but I'd love to read what you have to say about the probable storyline you think is going to happen; personally, I'm having a hard time believing the Reylo arc can be completed in just another movie, let alone the arcs of the three trilogies; what would be left for the next trilogy they're already working on? What do you think? Tks again!

thank you for being so encouraging, it is always nice to hear! And thanks for the ask. It took me a little while to answer you (sorry about that) because I was wondering what I could really tell you. I usually try to avoid speculations because, well, I would not say it is my forte, I am not the best at making bets… And, honestly, there is a lot of stuff that could go whatever… BUT…. There are some things I think we can count on, and some things we may expect. And some others (not necessarily groundbreaking) that we could also see them explore or hint at, when looking at the material they have given us so far. Again, I will not bet on anything…Disclaimer, guys!
What we can count on:
Ben’s redemption (yep), last Skywalker standing, guys…. This is my final world, and I have no doubt about that.
More Force bonds. Because they are awesome!
Reylo as endgame. So…Reylo kiss/ Reylo sex (don’t expect porn, you guys, a lot of great fanfic readers are very kindly providing that)… Probably off screen then (but a girl can dream on something tactful and romantic, the kids will be watching so obviously…)
TFA was Kylo and Rey fighting each other… TLJ is them fighting together. Episode IX should be them fighting for each other… You can’t convince me otherwise.
The MF… It has been key in the ST… Home… Bringing Ben home, or Rey and Ben leaving together at the end. Or Ben piloting the Falcon to do something important…

Brace yourself: death of our heroes. One or the two of them. Litteral death of one of them, but the other resurrects it through love and use of the Force. Or symbolic death of one or the two of them, through imagery or suspense (we think they are dead but they are not). This is classic myth/fairy tale. It has to happen for them to complete their growth and journey. There is no other way around it. But it can happen many different ways… Don’t fret. I am expecting them to be alive and well at the end.

Leia’s death and/or funeral… Except if they recast her, but oh well… Han’s funeral was in the novelization for TLJ. We need a funeral anyways in the last installment. Padmé in the PT, Vader in the OT… We are bound to get a funeral in the ST. Leia seems like the logical choice. Multiple possibilities: fairly early on, and then you have Kylo trying to show up or sharing with Rey after it and it can play a part in bringing them together. Or at the end, and it is the funeral that brings the galaxy together and it helps everyone mourn their lost and loved ones. Padmé’s was the funeral that marked the end of unity, Leia’s could be the one that brings everyone together. With Rey and Kylo together behind the coffin, or putting a torch to the pyre, hand in hand, as chief mourners.
Division in the Resistance? As a parallel to the First Order’s inner divisions? Would seem logical. I could see Poe struggle as a leader. Or Rey not being comfortable with everything about the Resistance, especially when it comes to Kylo. Rey still needs to figure out where she belongs… She belongs with Kylo. So, she might have issues finding her place in the Resistance. Just as he will not be happy with the First Order as seen by Hux.
Stormtrooper rising. They have focused more on the extra material about the human face of the Empire. See Claudia Gray’s Lost Stars, and the Junior novelization of TFA. Deleted scene of TLJ. Yes, Finn might not just be a bug in the system, it may be the first sign of more to come. Along with the division within the First Order, there may be stormtroopers rebelling and deciding between Kylo and Hux. Plus it gives Finn the chance to shine bright as the one who reaches out to dissident stormtroopers.
Use of the Jedi texts: they can’t have been stolen for no reason.

A Force ghost. I wonder if we will get a ROTJ type of ending with all our ghosts gently beaming… Or if they will just pop in to comment Rey and/or Kylo’s actions. We had them in the OT obviously. Not so much in the PT where Qui-Gon could have made an appearance/apparition… It is actually weird he didn’t but maybe Liam Neeson was not interested, who knows?
The ending should be on a lush planet. To symbolize rebirth, renewal, fertility, and the return to Paradise. And as a counterpoint to the ending of PT on Mustafar/Hell.
We might have the return of other known systems, Naboo or Mustafar, but I would really love to see Chandrila featured. It has been heavily featured in the extra material for the ST: in Last Shot, Leia Princess of Alderaan, and Aftermath series. We have seen Jakku, Rey’s birthplace, it would be logical and expected to see Chandrila, birthplace of Kylo. Also, don’t you think it eerily looks like Earth?
A nod to Padmé is overdue. Poor Padmé. Her part was already butchered in the PT. She is vaguely alluded to in the OT… It would be nice to see her somewhere in the ST. Extra material has been alluding and hinting at her…
Someone finding about Rey and Kylo’s force bond and special relationship and being shocked. I am imagining Rose or Finn. Either they keep her secret but call her out on it. Or they betray her secret, for her own good as they see it, and that prompts Rey to dramatically choose to defend Kylo. I have a head canon on BB8 playing a part in all that (catching them during a meeting and playing the holo of their tryst, for example… LOL)
Something that I desperately want to see but am unsure of… the overdue “I’ll come back for you sweetheart, I promise”, that is SO overdue and that is so important in the novelization of the movies, especially in the TLJ Junior version. I think I will pass out from excitement if I finally hear Kylo utter that line (which I deeply believe in).

Ok, I am sure I am forgetting some stuff. But, this is my piece for now. I hope that answers your questions. Please let me know your thoughts… Sorry it took so long! As for your question about completing it in one movie, well… @taule was telling me that she had heard people speculating they might make more… I would love it, of course, but they did say that ix was supposed to wrap up and tie in the whole Skywalker saga… Do not worry anyways, because you can count on books, novels, comics, and animation to keep Kylo, Rey, and all their buddies alive and well for quite a while. I am predicting LOTS, TONS OF Kylo’s stuff once they are done with ix and can finally stop pretending about the redemption and survival of their character.
