to not mourn the passing of their late brother would be an insult, ekaterina would have to force herself to do so. alas, she had never been the type to slow down and take a break. she leaves that to her other family members, and she continues her work.

naturally, the snow was never a bother to them, it almost always snowed in russia. and the snow there was thick and unforgiving. "yes, it has a certain... stickiness to it. not comfortable." she said with a certain disgust in her tone.

the first holiday without matvei had passed, waking up yesterday without the calls of the eldest had soured the holiday, so nikolai had spent it in his chambers. he had thought of staying in today but knew it was only fair to show himself to his siblings.

nikolai stood in the snow, he enjoyed the snow. he enjoyed the cold against his face. it reminded him of home. "do you ever think england is too warm," nikolai hummed, opening his eyes to see his little sister.
