Summary: What happens when Sirius Blacks little sister and Regulus Blacks twin sister starts to fall for the intelligent and beautiful Lily Evans?
Tumblr media
I made this cute little mood board idk I just love this tbh
⨯ . ⁺ ✦ ⊹ ꙳ ⁺ ‧ ⨯. ⁺ ✦ ⊹ . * ꙳
Y/N Black had always been seen as the colder Black out of her and her two brothers and that was saying something especially considering her twin, Regulus.
Regulus and her had been close their whole lifes. Their eldest cousin Andromeda would say they were thick as thieves. Always doing everything together refusing to go or do anything without the other.
But after years of abuse from their partners and then it only getting worse when their older brother Sirius left she closed up, to the point of even icing Regulus out to an extent.
When Regulus made the choice to mend the bond between him and Sirius, Y/N made it clear that she wanted no part in it.
In Y/N’s eyes Sirius didn't care, he didn't love her. She knew he didn't. If he did, why would he leave them? Why would he leave her? Especially with those people.
Sirius had always protected Regulus and Y/N as much as he could. He would take punishment, sneak them food if they were forced to go without.
Eventually protecting them ment having Regulus go to The Potters with him when there was talk of an arranged marriage for Regulus.
Regulus left 12 Grimmauld Place during winter break in their 5th year, Y/N being left once again.
At that point she'd separated herself from everyone who'd cared for her, admittedly it was mostly her brothers but also the few friends she and Regulus shared.
Sirius had tried many times to talk to Y/N but she never budged, she'd rarely spare him a glance. He was shattered, Sirius felt as if he'd lost his baby sister.
Regulus took it worse not that he'd admit that to anyone who wasn't Sirius. He had hoped that she'd forgive them at some point and that she'd join them or at the very least understand why they left but she didn't.
Y/N wouldn't speak, look, or even be in the same room as Regulus if she could help it.
Regulus lost his twin, his other half, his life line and she didn't even seem to care.
But she did care she cared so fucking much.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
Despite Y/N being cold and dark to those around her, she was smart.
Some would say smarter than Regulus, definitely smarter than Sirius.
So it came as no surprise to her when the summer between her 5th and 6th year Y/N got word that she was to join the 7th year potions class.
Honestly she didn't care, Walburga was as pleased as she could be and Orion unsurprisingly couldn't care less.
But that's how she found herself being in the potion class the year above and being assigned partners with her.
Lily Evans.
Y/N didn't know much about Lily other than she was friends with her brother and his friends, she was smart, a Gryffindor and muggle-born.
Now Y/N didn't care for blood statues. It never made sense to her, the hatred that so many purebloods held for half-bloods or muggle-borns.
It all seemed barbaric and honestly a waste of time.
So, no Y/N didn't care that she was partnered with someone who was a muggle-born.
She did care however that she was partnered with a friend of Sirius's. And it wasn't just a friend that he would see around and chat up with sometimes no, they were close friends.
This was going to be a problem.
“Hi, I’m Lily! Your Siris’ and Regs’ little sister right?”
Lily stuck out her hand for you to shake with one of the brightest smiles you think you've ever seen.
You simply roll your eyes and dismiss her hand shake.
“I prefer to be called by my name, Y/N, rather than being referred to as Sirius and Regulus' sister.”
Lily drops her hand and her smile falls just a tad, not enough for most people to notice, but you did.
“Of course. I'm sorry, truly.”
“It's fine Evans.”
You say coldly, giving your undivided attention to Slughorn.
The rest of class was spent taking notes mostly with Lily attempting to make small talk every so often. You ignored her for the rest of the class.
You knew Lily was only trying to be nice but you also knew she was only trying to be nice so she could bring up your brothers.
And talking about them was one of the last things you wanted to do.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
Days started to pass turning into weeks, weeks turning into months.
You and Lily had been cordial.
You tried your best not to be completely rude to her since she always tried to make small talk and she was kind to you.
You actually grew quite fond of her over time but you didn't think that the two of you were friends by any means.
But you were acquaintances.
And you did like being in her presents.
It had been three months since school had started and Slughorn had announced that there was a project that was due in 2 weeks, right before christmas break would start and you were to work on it with your partner.
You sighed and looked to the side to see a smiling Lily.
You weren’t upset that you had to do a project with Lily considering she was very smart and you liked being around her, but you were upset knowing that you'd have to spend time with her after class and knowing that where she goes her friends were not far most of the time.
Which meant there was a possibility of seeing her friends, which meant a possibility of seeing Sirius and or Regulus more than you'd like.
“Okay Evans we’ll meet at the library after classes are done so we can just get this done. Please refrain from bringing your friends.”
Lily knew what you meant by that, you were asking her to keep Sirius and Regulus away from you.
Lily chuckled and shook her head.
“They go where they please.”
Translation. She couldn't stop either of them, more specifically Sirius, even if she wanted to.
“I see. I'll see you later Evans.”
You sigh once more gathering your things to walk away.
“Bye Y/N.”
It always caught you off guard when she would call you by your first name instead of your surname.
First names were meant for friends, yet she never called you Black.
She only ever called you Y/N, as if you were good friends.
You supposed that was just the type of person Lily was. She was nice to everyone unless they gave her a reason not to be.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
After classes you find yourself entering the library. You were expecting to have to wait for Lily but to your surprise she beat you there.
You walk to the table she was occupying, setting your things down.
Once she notices you she looks up from her seat smiling at you.
She had a very beautiful smile, one that made you feel your heart skip a beat for a moment. But you chose to ignore the feeling, deciding, hoping, it meant nothing.
“How were your classes Y/N?”
Lily asked with genuine curiosity in her eyes.
Did she actually care? She couldn't possibly care about my day. No, she didn't care, she was just asking to be polite. That was all. You tried to convince yourself.
“It was fine… How about you?”
Lily then went on about her day. She told you her favorite thing she learned that day, a joke her friend Mary told her that made you actually crack a small smile.
You couldn't help but hold on to every word that came out of her mouth.
Without you even realizing it Lily talking was easily becoming your favorite part of the days that followed.
You spent every day that week meeting with Lily at the library and you realized you actually really liked spending time with her. She had managed to make you smile a few times which was a rare sight.
Lily had this light to her that you couldn't describe. She was just everything good in the world.
She was funny, smart, sweet, kind, beautiful and you wanted to spend every moment you could with her.
You realized as the weekend grew closer you wouldn't have a reason to see her for two days. That bothered you and you couldn't figure out why.
The two of you were working late in the back of the library. The library was practically empty.
“There's a Hufflepuff party tomorrow night. Are you going?”
“No. Parties aren't really something I enjoy. I’m assuming it’s safe to assume you're going?”
You say giving Lily a small smile.
“Yeah. We're all going… you should come.”
You knew what she meant. Sirius and most likely Regulus were going to be there.
Over the week of working with her she would make little suggestions now and then about seeing or talking to your brothers without blatantly saying so.
You just shook your head looking down at the table.
“I'm okay, thank you for the invitation.”
“Okay well, I'm going to Hogsmeade on sunday. Usually no one comes with me since they're all hungover. Would you like to join me?”
You felt yourself stop breathing. You didn't know why you felt this way.
It was just Lily, but you've never spent time with Lily outside of an academic setting.
Was this for the project? Or were you supposed to hang out as friends? Or was it.. More?
Did you want it to be more?
Before you have the chance to answer or contemplate further, your conversation was interrupted.
“Oi, Black! Three blood traitors wasn’t enough for your line? You decided to become one yourself?”
Avery said, making Mulciber laugh.
You look up at them about to get up but Lily grabs and squeezes your hand telling you to let it go.
So you did.
“Aww isn't that cute? You’re shagging the Mud-blood now? Merlin your whole family is full of a bunch of fuckin’ poof-”
Before he can finish his sentence you have him on the ground holding his nose. You felt what some people would refer to as ‘The Black Family Madness’ cloud your mind.
You thought it was just pure fucking anger, but what did you know?
You look down at Avery while having your wand pointing at Mulciber to keep him where he is, not showing any emotion on your face.
“I could kill you, you know? I could kill both of you. Make it look like self defense. ‘Oh i was so scared they cornered me and I- I didn't know what to do. I was scared for my life'.”
You say the last part in a mocking tone you then crouch in front of Avery looking him dead in the eyes.
“No one would even blink if you two died. Did you know that? I won't do it though because I refuse to risk myself being thrown in Azkaban. Especially for the likes of you, do you know why? It’s simple really, both of your lives put together don't even measure up to mine alone in terms of importance.”
You stand up straight looking at both of them.
“Now you're going to apologize to Evans for caller her such a vile and disgusting name, and if you don’t I will have a letter send to my mother by the end of the night about how I walked in on you two shoving your tongues down each other's throats and how I ‘just don't know what to do!’ and then we can see how your fathers react to just the idea of having ‘poofs’ inside they're line.”
You give them a small smirk while Avery and Mulciber look at each other debating if they're willing to have a rumor like that go around especially since it was a lie.
“And if you think my mother won't believe me. I reassure you, she will. Why would I lie? It wouldn’t benefit me as far as she's concerned and I am as close to a ‘perfect’ child as she'll ever get and if it comes out that the two of you might be shagging then the dirty looks get taken off The Black Family’ and move to The Mulcibers’ and The Averys’. So let's play this one smart boys.”
That seemed to convince Avery enough that he stands up and looks at Lily and forces out an ‘I’m sorry.’
Mulciber is a little more hesitant. You send a Stinging Jinx Mulcibers way, he falls to his knees with a small hiss and looks at Lily.
“I'm sorry Evans, really really sorry.”
Mulcibers cried out
“Now. You're both going to leave Evans alone. You are going to keep her name and both of my brothers' names out of your mouths. Am I understood?”
You say with no emotion on your face once again.
They both let out quiet ‘yes’s’ while scrambling to leave.
After the ‘Madness’ had cleared from your mind it hit you what you did. You didn't feel bad about what you did but you realize you did it all in front of Lily.
You don't even look at her as you start to gather your things.
“I’m sorry Evans, really. I-I should go.”
You ramble out while trying to walk away. Lily grabs your arm stopping you in your tracks.
“I won't lie and say I agree with what you did, but I don't blame you. I also appreciate you standing up for me. I'm not mad or scared of you Y/N.”
“I should have never done that in front of you. I'm sorry, really.”
“It's okay. I promise. Lets stop working tonight, yeah?”
You nod at Lily.
“Yeah. Okay”
“So about Hogsmeade?”
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
You were sitting by the entrance of Hogwarts looking down playing with the matching serpent ring that Regulus had got for you and him a few birthdays ago.
You've never taken it off.
You were just wearing some plain jeans and a jumper you had stolen from Sirius years ago. You find yourself wearing it when you think you might need moral support and you didn't know why but you felt a need to wear it today.
No matter how hurt you might be from your brothers leaving, you still loved them so much. You didn't necessarily blame them for leaving the house or the family, you just wish they were still with you.
You’re taken out of your thoughts when you hear footsteps coming your way.
You look up and forget how to breathe for a moment.
There she was. Lily fucking Evans walking towards you she was wearing a white long sleeve shirt and a plaid skirt it was so simple but she looked amazing.
Why are you feeling like this? Why does it feel like every time you're in her presents you feel like you can't breathe?
You've never felt this way before.
“Hey Y/N ready to go?”
“Yes.”
You felt like your words were stuck in your throat.
She was just so fucking beautiful.
You didn't talk much on your walk to Hogsmeade. You were too caught up in your head and Lily had noticed that.
“Are you okay Y/N?”
“Yes, I'm fine. How was your party last night?”
You asked, trying to change the subject. LIly knew what you were doing and she let you get away with it.
“It was actually a lot of fun. It would have been a lot more fun if you were there.”
Lily said, sending you a smile.
You just rolled your eyes playfully with a small smile of your own, letting Lily go on about the things that happened. She told you everything that had happened as if she didn't want you to feel left out. You didn't realize how much a little act like that could make your heart speed up a bit.
By the time you had gotten to Hogmaede Lily was laughing at a story about something her friend Marlenne had done, you were just smiling. Whether you were smiling at the story or at her laugh you didn't know and you didn't want to think about it. You just wanted to enjoy the time with her.
At some point Lily grabbed your hand holding it as you went through multiple shops, you tried not to pay too much attention to how her hand felt in yours. There were a few disagreements here and there when you insisted on paying for the things she wanted.
She in her words 'didn't want you to waste your money’ and you just responded with ‘it's not a waste if it's you.’
She finally stopped fighting you after you told her that you loved spending money on things you knew your mother and father wouldn't agree with. It was one of your little acts of rebellion. Which was true but a part of you also just wanted to spoil her.. But she didn't have to know that.
By the time you two had gotten back to the castle it was almost dark. You walked Lily to the Gryffindor tower still holding her hand.
“You know you could come in right? They want to see you.”
Lily said, squeezing your hand gently to reassure you.
Since the school year started and you wouldn't talk to Regulus he stopped coming down to the dungeons if he could help it, he started to stay in the Gryffindor tower. So other than the few classes you shared and the occasional glances across the great hall you haven't seen your twin in months.
It killed a part of you but you were still so angry and hurt.
“Me and you both know that's not a good idea.”
You said looking down. Lily was about to disagree when the portrait opened out walking James Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew and last but not least both of your brothers.
You could hear a pin drop in the corridor outside of the Gryffindor common room.
Sirius and Regulus stare at you without saying a word. No one moves, no one says anything.
You look back at Lily with your jaw clenched and drop her hand, putting your hands in your pockets. You didn't miss the hurt that flashes through her eyes but you didn't focus on it. You just had to get out of there.
“I'll see you later Evans, Yeah?”
You say to Lily mustering up a very small smile at her so she knew you were not upset with her.
You started to walk away not even acknowledging the presents of anyone else. You do your best to keep walking away ignore the sound of talking down the hall, trying your best to not spare your brothers another glance
You just weren't ready to talk to them and you didn't even know if they actually wanted to talk to you.
So you just continue walking to the dungeons
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
The next day Lily rushed into potions class, saying how sorry she was and explaining that she didn't know that was going to happen. It was all just poor timing.
All you could do was smile at her and reassure her that you didn't blame her.
You knew she wouldn't do something like that to you,
As the days passed by getting closer to the middle of the week you and Lily continued to get closer. You both would still meet up after classes in the library to finish up your project, the project that you both knew you could have finished, days ago.
You were coming to expect that you possibly had feelings for the girl but you knew she most likely just saw you as a friend.
You both were packing up for the night, you had finally finished with your project with two days to spare. It was a bittersweet moment.
“Y/N, what are you doing tonight?”
You looked up confused but you had a spark of hope in your chest.
“Nothing, probably go to my dorm, read, sleep… Why?”
“I have rounds tonight till 8:30. Do you want to meet after?”
“Um.. Okay? Yes, I'd like that. Um where should we meet?”
Lily then gave you one of her breath taking smiles obviously excited that you agreed.
“I'll come get you after I'm down, just meet me in front of the dungeons around 9?”
“Okay, Yeah.”
You were caught off guard when Lily walked over to you and hugged you.
The only people to have hugged you were your brothers and even then it had been years. You didn't know what to do for a moment so after some hesitation you hugged her back.
You felt her relax into you for a moment. You could smell her perfume, Strawberries and vanilla.
You reluctantly pulled away after a moment. You could see a light blush on her face and you couldn't imagine that you were any better.
“I'll see you later Evans.”
You say giving Lily a small smile and walking away with your things in hand.
Once you left the library you all but ran to your dorm. Your thoughts consume you.
That was a friend hug right? It had to be. Lily was just nice like that. Are friend hugs supposed to last that long though? You wouldn't know you wouldn't ever let anyone you were friends with hug you.
So then why did you let Lily hug you?
Why did you want to do it again?
Before you knew it it was 8:55 and you were waiting in front of the dungouse. You were still over thinking the hug.
Why was something so simple as a hug throwing you off? It didn't make sense.
You continued to think while absentmindedly playing with your ring. You were so lost in thought that you didn't even notice Lily till she put her hand on yours, stopping you from fidgeting.
You look at her and smile slightly.
“Where exactly are we going Evans?”
You ask, raising an eyebrow.
“Now why would I tell you that? Come on.”
Lily gave you a smirk and grabbed you hand leading you to wherever she was taking you. You couldn't help but blush at her holding your hand but you didn't pull away or protest it.
You let out a little chuckle when you finally realized where Lily was leading you.
“Really Evans? The astronomy tower? Seems a little cliché doesn’t it?”
You say with a teasing voice all Lily does is roll her eyes at you as you make it to the top of the tower.
When you get there you see that a few blankets and pillows are lying out.
You just blush again and Lily drags you over and has you sit with her in the pile of blankets and pillows.
“So why here?”
You ask leaning back on your hands.
“It’s just one of my favorite places. I like the stars.”
She says with a little shrug.
“Do you know about Cassiopeia?”
You ask, looking at her as she looks into the sky. Lily just shrugs and looks at you.
“Admittedly I’m not very good at astronomy. I would usually have… um Sirius do my work.”
Lily says looking scared that just mentioning your brother will have you running for the hills.
“Cassiopeia was the queen of Ethiopia; she was married to King Cepheus. One day she had angered Poseidon, she claimed that her and her daughter, Andromeda were more beautiful than the daughters of Nereus. So the sea nymphs, Nereids, asked Poseidon to send a monster to destroy King Cepheus's coast. To appease the monster, Cassiopeia and Cepheus chained Andromeda to a rock as a sacrifice, Perseus rescued Andromeda, but Poseidon still punished Cassiopeia, he took her and hung her in the heavens. Cassiopeia sits on her throne, but during part of the year, she appears upside down in the sky.”
Lily looks at you slightly shocked.
“How do you just know that?”
You chuckle and shake your head lightly.
“Evans, I’m a Black. It’s basically a requirement to know about the stars.”
“Okay fine, tell me about that one.”
She says point at a random constellation.
You tell her about every constellation or star she points at for a while, not noticing that the two of you have subconsciously been moving closer and closer. Eventually your shoulders are touching hands brushing against each other every so often.
“Okay how about that one?”
She pointed at one of the clusters of stars you hoped she wouldn’t have pointed out.
Then again it was bound to happen.
“Canis Major the ‘great dog’ it’s built around Sirius, the Dog Star, the brightest star in the sky.”
You say looking down, playing with the ring on your finger.
There’s a silence for a moment, it’s not awkward but not necessarily comfortable either.
“They miss you, you know?”
Lily says, looking at you.
“I don’t want to talk about this right now.”
You say not looking at her at all.
A part of you knew you couldn’t look at her because if you did you’d tell her anything she wanted to know.
“They really do. Sirius and Regulus ask me how you're doing all the time Y/N.”
Lily says grabbing your hand to stop you from playing with your ring once again.
“Lily please.”
You say looking up at her.
Your breath gets stuck in your throat for a moment once you realize how close the two of you are.
You're so caught up in the moment, so captivated by the most beautiful pair of green eyes you've ever seen that you didn't even notice.
You didn't even notice that you called her Lily. Not Evans.
Just Lily.
“You know you have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen?”
Lily says, staring at your eyes.
“Funny. I was thinking the same thing.”
You said with a new found confidence. Lily looks down at your lips for a moment and then you both start to lean in slowly.
“Ooooo naughty naughty.”
You both jump at the sound of the most annoying Poltergeist known to man.
After a few minutes of Lily somehow convincing Peeves to not tell on us for being there. You found yourself walking Lily to the Gryffindor common room hand in hand for the second time in a week.
“I hope you had fun tonight, I’m sorry Peeves kinda ruined the night.”
Lily said, stopping in front of the entrance to her common room.
“It's not your fault. You didn't know he would be there. I still had a good time.”
She just smiled at you, not letting go of your hand.
“I had a lot of fun too.”
You desperately didn't want the night to end but you didn't know how to express that. You weren't blind you could tell Lily most likely had some kind of feelings for you. There was just a part of you that was still so scared of being rejected or left.
“It's getting late so we should go to bed.”
You say ruining your thumb over her knuckles.
“What if I said I didn't want to go to bed yet?”
Lily said, stepping closer to you.
You just smile and let out a little sigh looking her in the eyes.
“I would then say that as much as I don't want this night to end, we've already been caught once and it's late, we have class tomorrow and I wouldn't want to see you tired… though under different circumstances I would love to see you tired.”
You say to her while smirking at her with confidence that you didn't know you had.
Lily just looks at you speechless blushing more than you think you've ever seen her before. You then dare to kiss her cheek softly.
“Goodnight, Lily.”
You whisper while sending a small smile towards her, not waiting for a response you start to walk away.
This had been one of the best nights of your life.
 · · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
Even though you had finished your projects you and Lily found yourselves still meeting in the library after classes leading up to break.
You both had been more affectionate in your own ways, Lily had started bringing you little snacks and water because she thought you didn't eat enough or drink enough water.
You were just constantly holding her hand or hugging her when you got the chance. It didn't go farther than that physically but you two started shamelessly flirting more often.
Finally it was the day before everyone would leave for christmas break you had just turned in your project to Slughorn.
You were gathering your things to leave for the next class when you were hit with an idea.
“Lily, do you want to.. Maybe hang out tonight?”
You asked nervously while a faint blush took over your face. You don't know why you're so nervous. You had hung out with Lily so many times at this point, it should feel normal.
She smiled at you and nodded.
“Yeah. I'd like that.”
“Okay. meet me at the astronomy tower. Around 8?”
“Really Y/N the astronomy tower? How cliché.”
Lily says in a teasing tone.
“Hahaha, just meet me there okay?”
You gave Lily’s hand a little squeeze, sending her a smile.
After classes that day you got together a little picnic basket of all the candies and food that Lily had told you she liked at one point or another.
You had gone and set everything up so you went back to your dorm to change into your favorite outfit. Finally it was time to meet Lily you found her eventually and smiled at how beautiful she looked.
“So where are we going?”
Lily asked as you walked up to her.
“Wouldn't you like to know?”
You say sending her a small smirk as she rolled her eyes.
“Yes I actually would.”
“You'll find out soon, calm down.”
You say grabbing her hand and leading her up to the third floor of the astronomy tower, you then let go of Lily’s hand walking in front of the blank wall while Lily looks at you curiously.
Soon the door for the Room of Requirements appears and the look Lily gives you is priceless.
“Is this the Room of Requirement?”
You nod while opening the door for her.
“Yeah. I found it in my third year. It's my own little part of the school, where no one can bother me unless I let them. You're the first person I've brought here.”
The room is full of books and a big fireplace with large comfy couches and a record player with all your favorite records next to it.
Next to the fireplace is the little picnic you had set up. Lily lets out a soft gasp as she sees the set up.
You both sit down and look at each other for a while. It's a soft moment, it feels like you both just needed to take each other in for a moment.
“So it's your last christmas here. Are you going home?”
You ask, taking a bite of a chocolate wand after.
“No. We all decided to stay here for our last christmas. Are you staying?”
“Yes. I'd rather spend Christmas in the dungeons then go back to Grimmauld Place.”
You say shaking your head with a sigh.
“Y/N, I know you try to avoid talking about this but just hear me out and if you don't want to talk about it after, I will leave it be, okay?”
You sigh already knowing where this conversation is going but you decided to hear Lily out anyway. You nod your head letting her know that she can continue.
“You said it yourself. This is mine and Sirius’s last Christmas at Hogwart. This is probably the last chance the three of you have to spend a Christmas together. They miss you Y/N, honestly they do. My sister doesn't talk to me anymore because I'm a witch and I miss her everyday. I don't want to see you go through that. I don't want you to regret not seeing your brother when you had the chance.”
You take a moment to think about it. You already knew if you didnt make up with them soon you'd regret it. Hell you already regretted it.
You remembered how heartbroken Narcissa was when she found out that Andromeda had a baby. Narcissa knew she would never be able to meet her niece. You didn't want that. You didn't want your brothers to have families and you not be involved. You knew that if you didnt get over this pettiness that there was a large possibility that that was exactly the path you were heading down.
“Okay. when everyone leaves tomorrow. I'll see them.”
“Really?”
“Yeah Lils. You're right after all. I don't want to not be a part of my brothers’ lives.”
Lily just gives you a hug whispering how proud of you she was.
Lily understood how hard this was for you. She knew you were hurt even if you never flat out said it to her.But it was time for you to get over it before you lost the only family you ever really cared for.
You and Lily spend the rest of the night talking and laughing. For a moment you forget the anxiety that will consume you tomorrow.
You'll be fine. As long as you have Lily by your side you know you'll be fine.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
You waited at the entrance of the Gryffindor common room anxiously playing with the ring on your finger.
Why did you agree to this? Were you really ready to face your brothers? What if they hated you? What if they wanted nothing to do with you?
You were so caught up in your thoughts you didn't even notice your favorite red head till she touched your hands stopping you fidgeting with your ring one again.
You looked up at her, the anxiety obvious on your face.
“They want to see you. I promise.”
She gives you a comforting smile keeping her hand on yours.
“What if I fuck this up? What if I lose them for good?”
You feel the burning behind your eyes trying not to cry.
“They love you so much Y/N. All you have to do is try.”
You nod, keeping Lily’s hand in yours letting her lead you into the portrait of Elizabeth Spriggs aka ‘The Fat Lady’.
Once you walk into the common room you notice it seems uncharacteristically quiet.
You look and see two matching sets of gray eyes looking at you. You take a deep breath still trying to hold back the tears.
It's been close to a year since you talked to Sirius, quite a few months since you talked to Regulus.
“Sirius, Regulus.”
You say in a neutral voice not making eye contact with either of them.
There's a moment of silence and stillness, a part of  you considers running out of the room but before you can act on that though you're being tackled into a hug by your eldest brother. You couldn't help but let a few tears fall as you hold Sirius and you can tell he's crying just the same.
Sirius cups your face with both of hands after a few moments to look at you with tears streaming down his face.
“I'm never letting you go again, you hear? I'm not losing my baby sister again.”
You let out a little sob and hug Sirius again putting your head on his chest.
“Sirius, Y/N why don't we go somewhere with a smaller audience.”
Regulus said in all his stoic glory.
“Yeah. Regs right. We'll go to my room, alright?”
You give a small nod to Sirius then leads you to his shared dorm room while Regulus follows behind.
You honestly didn't even notice the other people in the room until Regulus said something.
It wasn't many people, it was just ‘The Marauders’ as they call themselves and Lily but Regulus knew you would be more comfortable with just you three and you knew Regulus felt the same.
Once you get to Sirius room you look at Regulus for the first time in months.
“I’m sorry Regulus. I really am.”
You say trying to hold tears back once again.
“You ignored me. You ignored me for months Y/N.”
You look down ashamed playing with your ring once more.
“I know Regulus and if I could go back I would but I can’t. I was just hurt. Sirius left and that hurt so fucking much but at least I had you. Then you left, and I understand why you did but then I was just by myself. It nearly killed me to be alone with mother and father.”
You said taking a deep breath.
“I told you to come with me. Why didn’t you come?”
Regulus said with so much hurt in his voice it felt like someone ripped your heart out.
“I was afraid. I was afraid that I was too much like them. That if I would have gone, I would have tainted whatever good you made for yourselves.”
“You are nothing like them. Neither of you are. I made sure of that. Y/N if you were like them you wouldn’t be friends with Lily and Regulus if you were you would have never reached out for help.”
Sirius says while holding you against him once again.
“I really am sorry Reg.”
You look up at regulus with your tear stained face.
Regulus’s eyes softened and before you knew it, Regulus had taken you from Sirius arms and hugged you tighter than you had ever been hugged before but you didn’t mind.
You both cried into each other's arms for the first time in years.
Sirius hugged both of you and for a moment you just sat there in your brother's arms enjoying every second of it.
“So, you and Lily huh?”
Sirius says in a teasing voice. You pushed him away and glared at him.
“Shut up.”
You say with a slight pout. Regulus and Sirius just give each other a knowing look as you roll your eyes and scoff.
“I hate you both. Did you know that?”
“Nah, you love us too much baby sister.”
Sirius says ruffling your hair as you swat his hands away.
“Wait. Is that my jumper?”
“… No. You’re crazy. The Black Family Madness is catching up with you Siri.”
Sirius and you start to argue as if no time had passed. Regulus just smiles at you two feeling grateful to have this back.
You spend the rest of the break with your brothers mostly but also with the marauders and Lily.
You got to know them all.
You took a liking to Remus quickly bonding over your favorite books.
You and Peter got along well enough playing chess together often, since he would insist on rematches because you would continuously beat him.
James admittedly was harder not that you didn’t like him but a part of you had blamed him for Sirius leaving for so long that it was hard to get past that and it showed. It wasn't until christmas eve when James had pulled you aside for a moment when you felt yourself grow comfortable with him.
“You know, you don't have to go back there right?”
“What do you mean Potter?”
You looked at him with raised eyebrows as he sat next to you on the couch you were now occupying.
“You don't have to go back to Grimmauld Place. You could be with your brothers again, I already wrote mum and dad. They said they'd be more than happy to have another Black join the Potters. I mean what's another one, yeah?”
James said with a small smile, lightly bumping your shoulder with his.
“Are you sure? I don't-”
“Yes. I know. You don't want to over step or be a burden and I know you don't think you deserve it, but you do. Merlin's beard, you and your brother are just the same. I will never understand the treatment your parents put the three of you through. But what I do know is that you three deserve good things in your lives. You deserve so much more than what your parents put you through. You are worth so much more than what they made you believe you were. You deserve to be loved, to be safe and to be happy. Y/N you will always have a home with us, plus… I've always wanted a little sister.”
You didn't say anything, you just hugged James and nodded your head.
Off to the side watching the interaction between you and James was your brothers, for the first time in years Regulus and Sirius knew the three of you would be safe and they couldn't be happier.
They liked seeing you interact with the people that they’ve grown close with and getting to see you actually happy every so often was just a bounce.
But your brothers weren’t the only ones who liked it.
Lily loved seeing you interact with all of them.
You seemed so alive.
She’d never seen you act like that with anyone but her. She loved seeing you smile and laugh. She loved seeing you and your brothers truly happy.
This was her favorite Christmas so far.
You had made it her favorite Christmas.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
You felt better than you had in months, no, years.
You had your brothers back and for the first time in years. The three of you were getting along and you knew you would finally be safe.
You also knew it was because of Lily as well.
She was the fire in your darkness, she gave you light, warmth and she felt so happy and safe.
Everything felt good for once. But if you knew anything, you knew that wasn't going to last.
“You don't actually think she loves you do you?”
You turn to see none other than Severus Snape leaning by the entrance to the dungeons. You raise your eyebrow at him questioningly.
You don't really talk to Snape unless it was necessary you never really liked him or the company he kept in recent years. So for him to start any conversion with you was rare.
“What are you on about Snape?”
“Lily.”
He states as if it's obvious.
“What about Lily?”
Your interest obviously peaked at hearing the name of your favorite Gryffindor.
“She'll never love you. She loves Potter.”
He says in a monotone voice. You scoff rolling your eyes.
“I don't know why I'm bothering with this nonsense.”
You turn to walk away muttering to yourself.
“She and Potter kissed, you know. The other week, at a Hufflepuff party. I saw them. Potter has been pining for Lily since our first year. It seems he finally got what he was after.”
You stood there shocked, confused, frozen with your jaw now clenched.
That couldn't be true. Lily wouldn't do that and if she did she'd tell you right? I mean you were… whatever you are, right?
And James wouldn't do that. He had all but flat out asked you to be his sister.
Snape was lying, he had to be. He was spreading lies about Lily. He just had to be. You wouldn't stand for that. You felt ‘The Madness’ creep in once again.
In one swift motion you had Snape pinned against the wall with your wand pointed at his neck.
“You will not speak of Lily again. You will not look at her, speak to her. You will not breathe the same air as her and if you do. I will kill you. Do I make myself clear?”
You say with murderous eyes.
Snape would never admit it but he was scared. He's only ever seen you as cold, emotionless. This was far from emotionless.
“Crystal.”
Snape said, trying to hide his emotions as best as he could.
You walk away without another glance stuck in your head.
He had to be lying right? But why would he lie? Nothing made sense. Maybe he wasn't lying.
Stupid. You were so fucking stupid.
How could you think someone like Lily Evans would like someone like you.
Lily brings life to everything she touches, she was sweet, caring, kind she was fucking perfect.
You were a Black, enough said.
You were angry, mean, rude, it was in your blood to ruin everything you touch.
It wasn't her fault that you thought you might actually have a chance, that you developed a stupid crush, it was your fault for being stupid enough to think that it was ever a possibility.
I mean maybe you and Lily were just friends. Maybe you misunderstood?
You couldn't blame her but that didn't mean it hurt less.
The first person you started putting your walls down for the first time in years obviously didn't care about you the way you cared for her.
So you did what you did best when people would hurt you.
You avoided and ignored her. You managed to avoid Lily for a few days skipping potions class, leaving the library when you would see her walk in.
Sirius was quickly getting irritated with your antics. He had been pestering you as to why you were avoiding Lily but you wouldn’t tell him or Regulus.
If they knew she would find out.
So you just kept avoiding her and avoiding answering any questions your brothers would ask.
Eventually she found you and tried to talk to you which led to you ignoring her. It killed you to see the look on her face but it was necessary to protect yourself. You tried to convince yourself that it would be easier after a week.
It wasn't.
For either of you apparently.
Lily had managed to find you in the library while you were looking for a book to distract yourself with. You had put your guard down for a moment. You didn't even know she was there till she spoke.
“Y/N.”
She had said to gain your attention, when you realized there wasn't anywhere for you to go you decided to just get it over with to stop avoiding your problems for the first time in your life.
You rolled your eyes and sighed looking at her for the first time in a week.
“What the hell do you want Evens? Shouldn't you be with your boyfriend, Potter?”
You say to Lily in a monotone voice looking her in the eyes.
“What are you talking about? I'm not dating James, I don't want him!”
You felt all the anger and insecurity start to cloud your brain. She was lying. How dare she lie to you. You were damned if you were made a fool once again.
“You're such a liar Evans. Snape told me everything about how Potter has been pining for you for years! How he saw you two kiss at the Hufflepuff party! I can't believe I was stupid enough to believe you'd actually like me. I can't believe I was stupid enough to think Potter would actually look at me as a sister.”
You whisper yelled with your jaw clenched while the back of your eyes burned trying to hold back tears.
“Me and James didn’t kiss I swear-”
You scoff, turning to walk away deciding you were done with this conversation, but Lily grabbed you by the arm, tapping you against the bookshelf.
“I didn't kiss James. He's a great friend but nothing more to me, and he does care for you, I know he does. But I don't want him, I want you. I've wanted you since the first time I laid eyes on you. I love everything about you. I love how loyal you are, how even if you didn’t talk to your brother you'd never let anyone speak ill of them. How despite being raised to hate someone like me you never held something as stupid as my blood statutes against me. I love how smart you are. How you cover your smile when you laugh. How your eyes light up when youre reading a book you enjoy. How when you get anxious you play with your ring. Everything. Can’t you see that?”
You searched her eyes trying to see if there was any lie, but all you saw was the truth. She meant every word and it scared you.
Lily then cupped your cheek wiping away a tear you didn't know was there.
“Why would you want me? I'm cold, rude, cynical and angry all the time. I'm not a great person...”
Lily scoffs playfully while smiling.
“You're no angel but you’re my everything Y/N. To me you light up the room, you don't take shit from anyone, you stand up for what you believe and I hope you'll never change. You showed me that I'm enough. I'll never stop wanting you. I wish you could see yourself the way I see you.”
Lily whispers the last part brushing her nose against yours.
“What if I hurt you?”
You whisper your voice breaking a little.
“You'll probably hurt me a few times and I'll probably hurt you a few times but that's okay as long as we work it out together, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
The anger and insecurity finally unclouding your brain letting you take in how close you two are.
Lily's hand is still cupping your cheek while her other hand is on your hip pressing you slightly in the bookshelf while she's pressed against you.
Lily's eyes flicker down to your lips and you nod softly letting her know it was okay.
You both lean in, your lips touching for the first time.
You felt warmth go through your whole body. It was beyond a spark or fireworks. It felt as if a bomb had been dropped on you.
That kiss broke something in you.
But it wasn't bad.
It had broken down every wall that you spent years building up brick by brick.
In just a moment Lily Evans had managed to do something to you, that you and so many other people thought impossible.
She healed a part of you.
Her lips were so soft they felt like silk against yours.
It felt like she was made to be with you.
It's soft and sweet, at first. Then it felt consuming. She was all around you and you didn't want it to be any other way.
You could only feel her, her hand squeezing your hip as your hand was on the back of her head pulling her closer.
You could only smell her cherry and vanilla perfume. It made you dizzy with how intoxicating it was.
You had forgotten that you were in public for a moment that was until you heard a throat clear.
Both of you pulling away with hot faces you look to see a very amused and smirking Remus Lupin.
“Finally. I was afraid neither of you would ever actually make a move. Just wait till Sirius hears about this.”
You groan, throwing your head back against the bookcase while Remus and Lily laugh at your expense.
You never expected for anyone to be able to break down your walls, to fall for someone.
Especially not someone like Lily.
But fuck were you happy that she did.

What Happens in Vegas Doesn't Always Stay in Vegas... Part 3
Part 1 Part 2
Ellie's presence at The Bear is... entertaining?
Tumblr media
Part 3- The Fight
“I don’t get why you want to work with him, baby. He never treated you right.” Jack sighed as he buttoned his sleeve. Ellie shrugged “Carmy is my friend. He’s also a really talented chef.” Jack shrugged “I guess…” “If it makes you feel better, I’m cooking with him today, but tonight, I’m sleeping with my insane and insanely hot fiance. Unless you suddenly don’t want to be my husband.” Jack chuckled and grabbed at her hips, pulling her into his body “I don’t have anything to worry about, right?” Ellie shook her head, “I love YOU, Jack. Carmy was just an appetizer compared to the absolute meal of a man you are.” Jack grinned and put his forehead against Ellie’s before softly kissing her lips. “I love you, Mrs. Aubrey.”
Ellie walked into the kitchen and was immediately noticed by Syd. “Hi, can I help you?” “Yea- I’m Ellie. Carmy’s friend from culinary school and New York in general…” Syd nodded, side-eyeing her as Carmy came out of the office. “El, hey.” he smiled as he hugged her briefly, trying not to look suspicious. “Who’s this beautiful girl?” Richie playfully flirted when he saw Ellie in the kitchen; Carmy rolled his eyes at Richie’s comment. “I’m Ellie, Carmy’s friend from New York.” Richie nodded and watched as Carmy showed her to Marcus’s station. “She’s hot- you sure she’s Carmy’s friend?” Syd scoffed at Richie’s smart-ass comment, “Carmy isn’t totally hideous. I could see him being friends with her.”
“Okay, I gotta ask. How’d you two meet?” Gary asked during family. Carmy stared at his phone, waiting for Claire to text him back about coming to the dinner they’d begun eating. “Well,” Ellie said after swallowing a bite of pasta, “I met him in culinary school. He was just this cute little awkward guy, and there were no cute guys in our class, right? So my friend Carly went up to him and tried inviting him to a get-together, but Carmy, being Carmy, said no. Fast forward three months, I discovered he was my across-the-hall neighbor.” Carmy grinned, remembering the day they realized they were neighbors like yesterday. “Anyway, we started commuting together, we got hired at the same restaurant, and it just kinda became convenient.” Syd looked between Ellie and Carmy, “You two dated?” Ellie laughed “I wouldn’t call it dating- it was more just ‘oh fuck I worked a 15 hour day and want to get my dick wet’ kind of thing.” Richie laughed and hit Carmy “Cousin, my fuckin man.”
Ellie rolled her eyes at Richie’s pervy comment, “Then we got married in Vegas one night when we were drunk.” Carmy rolled his eyes “Yea, and you’re divorcing me.” Ellie was about to say something when she noticed a new woman standing in the restaurant “What was that, Carmen?” Claire felt her blood boil as Carmy turned to face her “Hey Claire…”
“So you and Carmy got married?” Ellie nodded cautiously “Don’t worry, I don’t want him. I’m engaged to an awesome guy, and honestly, if I weren’t getting married, we probably wouldn’t have ever found out.” there was an awkward tension in the restaurant after Ellie explained the peculiar circumstances that brought her to The Bear. Claire nodded “Yeah, you’re probably right. Took him like 12 years to ask me out…”
The mood shifted back to everyone making fun of Carmy and discussing how The Bear would get a star that year. After everyone ate, Carmy walked Claire out to her car, “Baby-” “Carmen. Why didn’t you tell me about this when you found out?” before Carmy could answer, Claire cut him off “You know what? I don’t want to know. I’m on call tonight. I’ll talk to you later.” Carmy nodded and watched her drive away. He waited until she turned the corner before pushing his hands through his hair. Carmy knew it wasn’t the right move not to tell her about what he’d found out the day prior, but she was already mad at him and figured telling her would just make it worse. He groaned, “Fuck.”
Ellie noticed Carmy’s shitty mood throughout dinner service. It didn’t improve as the night went on. After closing, she watched him sanitize his station before going to his locker. She followed, “So… you’re in a shitty mood.” Carmy rolled his eyes at Ellie’s comment, “Yeah. I fucked up with Claire.” Ellie nodded “Well. It was great seeing you, CAB. I’m sending you an invite to the wedding, with a plus one. You’re a mostly okay guy, Carm. I’m sure she’ll come around.” Carmy laughed “We’ll see. But I’ll be there.” “You also have to stage at my place. We do this epic brown sugar habanero bacon sandwich- it’s fuckin fire.” Carmy shook his head and laughed “Of course it is.” “It was nice divorcing you, Carm.” “Right, back at you, Ellie.”
Carmy was startled awake by his door slamming; he sat up on the ratty couch he’d bought off Facebook Marketplace when he’d first moved back to Chicago. If this had been a cartoon, steam would be coming out of her ears right now. “Okay, so you got married in Vegas, whatever. What was with that ‘oh, we probably wouldn’t have found out’ bullshit!” she yelled, her sloppy bun bouncing with every syllable. Carmy swung his legs off the couch to the floor and stood before her “Claire-” “Are we ever going to get married, Carmen?” Carmy swallowed as Claire’s eyebrows knit together. “Carmen, I’ve dealt with a lot of your avoidant attachment bullshit. I deal with the fact you work upwards of 60 hours a week. I get it. You aren’t ready to move in together. But today at work, I realized you haven’t even told me that you love me- unless we’re having sex.” she scoffed “What’s the end game here, Carmen? You shit on our relationship. You beg me to take you back and barely try to involve yourself in my life outside our relationship- what’s the end game? Do you ever want to get married? Buy a house? Have kids? What is the point of all of this, Carmen?” she crossed her arms over her chest, looking up at the ceiling in an attempt not to cry. Carmy sighed; he really needed a fucking cigarette. “Claire, I told you last year that I wasn’t sure if I was ready to be in a relationship- you still wanted to be with me. I recognize that I fucked up, and I’m tryin' to be better.” Carmy explained, “Can you look at me, Claire?” she huffed in response but obliged. He saw tears welling up in her eyes and instantly felt guilt wash over him “If I’ve learned anything about myself in the last 48 hours, it’s that I don’t think I’m actually in love with you- I’m sorry, but that’s the truth.” “Fuck you, Carmen.” Claire spat before leaving his apartment, “Don’t ruin Ellie’s relationship like you ruined ours.” she slammed the door on her way out.
Carmy sighed as he closed his eyes, lighting his fifth or sixth cigarette of the technical morning. He had slept since Claire left hours ago. He couldn’t stop thinking about Ellie. She was always so kind to him. It wasn’t just fucking to her, she put in effort for him to be comfortable in her space, but he’d never reciprocated the effort, and he knew it. He’d always assumed it was just his age. Being a hot upcoming chef in New York, there wasn’t a lack of women interested in him. If Ellie hadn’t been across the hall, at school, or work, he would have done the same thing to a different girl. Maybe he wouldn’t have married a different girl in Vegas, and while he knew they couldn’t stay married, part of him wished he could go back in time and change what had happened. Rewrite their love story. Be an actual boyfriend or at least just a friend. He didn’t deserve to be happy.

I brought this up with another blog, but something that a lot of Felix stans who are also Adrien salters say whenever someone points out how Felix acted worse than Adrien is that the show never made out Felix to be a good guy whenever he did something villainous, while whenever Adrien did something bad, the show went out of its way to make sure he got away with it, or didn't have to apologize
However, there were times were he did apologize when he did something bad.
Whether they were good apologies is up to debate, but they did happen.
Felix has yet to apologize for anything he did wrong, so honestly that excuse of why they think Adrien is worse than him really falls apart.
Adrien has apologized way more for lesser things in the span of nine months than Felix has ever done in his life.
He was kind of a jerk to Ladybug in Glaciator and Frozer.
He messed with Theo the sculptor in Copycat.
He gave Marinette some reasonable yet ineffective advice.
He messed up in the New York special.
And all these had consequences. In Glaciator and Frozer, he apologized to Ladybug for his behavior. He apologized for the ineffective advice he gave. His actions in Copycat had consequences in the form of him being targeted by an akuma and his mistake in the New York special was called out and he clearly felt guilty about it. These are the worst of the mistakes he's made, and he's been made to deal with them. The narrative never excused him of anything.
I listed the mistakes Adrien has made. Let's look at everything Felix has done.
Victim blamed his cousin for being abused.
Tried to ruin that same cousin's life out of spite.
Tried to strike a deal with Hawkmoth.
Stole all the Miraculous from Ladybug and gave it to Gabriel, betraying her and putting all of Paris in danger.
Sold his cousin's free will back to his abuser.
Committed genocide.
And he has apologized for exactly none of this. In fact, he did all this with a gleeful smirk on his face. This is an obtuse and ridiculous comparison.
And never made Felix out to be a good guy when he did what he did?
Felix stans: The show never justifies Felix! It always portrays him as a bad person and never excuses him!
The show:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kagami:(puts her arm in front of Félix, defending him) I am nobody's prisoner! Félix is not your enemy! He's like me! He doesn't know how to express himself. Everyone is wrong about him! Including me. (They smile at each other)
Félix: And it was only when his father died that he could recover it, and his freedom along with it. (Félix takes the ring from his father's hand and puts it in his finger) Félix: He understood that the amulet that had allowed his mother to give him life could also take it away. (Félix is now seen "standing" before the Agreste mansion) Félix: So he went to the house of the tailor, who had become a prince, to steal the jewel. (An image of Gabriel appears on the background with only half of his body shown, towering over Félix) Félix: But the tailor had become a powerful prince. (Félix wears a mask resembling that of when he wielded the Dog Miraculous in the episode "Risk" as Flairmidable) Félix: The child had to steal other magical amulets that the tailor desired. Only then was he able to make an exchange.
Allow me to refer to you the last time someone confronted Felix with his mistakes.
Argos: True, except I work for no one. (kicks Ladybug, causing her to crash onto a building) I only helped Monarch cause it served my plans! (charges in to punch her and she dodges) I needed the Peacock Miraculous and today I need yours and Cat Noir's so I can make my wish! (makes another attempt to attack Ladybug with his heel as Ladybug rolls away to evade it)
The show literally pulled the classic "he's not evil, he's just misunderstood!" trope with Felix, and somehow, he's a better person than Adrien? He literally got excused for everything he did without any regret or remorse on his end. He gets a tragic backstory as an excuse and a girlfriend as an easy gateway to the good side and somehow, he's considered redeemed, even though he has continually expressed no remorse for his actions and only justifies himself over and over. In contrast, Adrien actually owns up to his mistakes and apologizes for them, even when he doesn't really have to. There's no comparison here.
Thank you for your ask!

Previous-beginning-Next
Post 2 of 2 for today!
AN: The dialogue and the poses for this post were a HUGE labor of love by @ardeney-sims . All I can say to her is thank you and you knocked it out of the park!!!
P.S The transcript is below the cut!
B: Um, hey.
V: …
B: Your cousin… she, um… she said you’d be out here.
V: …
B: Is it okay if I sit beside you?
V: Sure.
V: If you were trying to hurt me or get back at me for ghosting you for a week by ghosting me for a little over a month, you were very successful.
B: I… I wasn't trying to get back at you.
V: Could have fooled me.
B: You could have always messaged me, you know.
V: I had no courage left in me after how we left things. It was all used up when I was trying to explain myself to you.
B: Why would you need to build up the courage to message me?
V: Because you seemed upset with me when you left the call and it made me nervous and scared to reach out.
B: I wasn't upset with you. I just needed some time.
V: When I didn’t hear back from you after you said you’d message me later, it felt like our friendship was just… over.
B: It was never over. Not even for a second.
V: It really felt like it though.
B: Why won't you look at me?
V: I’m overwhelmed and not sure that I'm ready to face the reality of the situation. If I don't see your face and I just listen to your voice, I hear my friend from the forums and that’s comforting to me. But if I see your face and still hear that same voice… I don’t know.
B: I'm still the same person though.
V: I know that, but I just… need a minute.
B: Of course. I’m sorry.
V: Don’t apologize. You haven’t done anything wrong.
B: Haven’t I? I keep doing things that seem to upset you or hurt you or make you sad and I don't like making you sad. There is nothing worse than seeing someone you love in pain while also knowing that you're the reason behind it.
V: Blaze. Look at me. None of this is on you. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm the one at fault because it's MY emotional baggage that got us here in the first place. I don't want you to feel bad for things that were entirely out of your control. I was wrong about you and I am so incredibly sorry for how I've treated you both on and offline. I can definitely understand why you were so adamant about not video chatting with me.
B: I’m sorry about that… I know it upset you.
V: It did, I won’t lie. And while I'm sure at first it was in the interest of basic internet safety considering who you are, after my whole tirade about you… I get why you never wanted me finding out. I… I didn't make you feel safe anymore. I can only blame myself for that.
B: I just… I couldn’t risk losing our friendship and then having you hate me even more. I didn’t want to lie to you but I also didn’t know how I could tell you the truth? Because hearing that story and everything you said about me… it hurt a lot.
V: And I am so incredibly sorry for it all. You didn’t deserve it. I was such a huge bitch who called you all kinds of horrible things and put you in a place where you couldn’t properly defend yourself. I know I can’t take it back but, if I could, I swear I’d do it in a heartbeat.
B: Do you still see me in that light?
V: Not at all. Remember that conversation we had a few days later where I told you that you were right about my anger clouding my judgment?
B: Yeah, I remember.
V: That’s what got me to change my mind. You were the first person who challenged my version of events. Sure, I was a little annoyed at first, but because you’re someone I care about and I care about the things you say, I felt like I should at least try to see it from your point of view.
B: And when you did?
V: When I did, I realized that I was 100% keeping this grudge because I could. I’ve been really shitty to you Blaze and I really am sorry for everything. I hope you can forgive me.
B: Of course I do. Honestly, Vanessa, you could punch me in the face and kick me in the chest and I'd still forgive you.
V: Rest assured I won't be trying either. Friends don't give friends black eyes. Or a pneumothorax, for that matter.
B: But drugging and assault is fine?
V: Don’t start with that! Are you ever going to let me live that down?!
B:  Never.
V: I’ve missed talking to you so much.
B: Likewise.
V: I swear, my therapist is going to have a field day once I tell her about this trip...
B: Therapist? Have you always been seeing a therapist?
V: No, that’s new. And how I got there and how it’s going is a long ass story in and of itself.
B: I mean… we’ve still got time before the party if you want to talk about it. V: And completely deplete my mental and social battery before I have to interact with people????? Hell no.

Could I request a non-con Rafe Cameron? He’s obsessed with Pope’s older female cousin who comes to visit/help Heyward since Pope is constantly AWOL. Rafe flirts her without making any commitment until she’s set to leave OBX and does everything he can to lock her down.
Acting fast
Tumblr media
Y/n’s pov
Doing Popes work while he’s AWAL is the worst. He’s a very heavy duty and fast man but ever since he’s been doing this treasure hunt, he’s lacked in all of his chores. Now I’m here to pick up where he left off at.
I’m currently walking up to Sarah Cameron’s house after getting an anonymous letter, inviting me tonight. I figured it must be some random dude who might of flirted with me a few weeks ago so accepted and came.
I honestly think Rafe invited me. He alway does but I usually never go unless I’m with JJ or Pope. They hate the thought of me alone around Rafe. They say he’s bad news but I can’t see him killing me if anything like that. I think I’ll be fine with one night alone.
“Aye, y/n!” A dude who always flirts with me, said as I walked by him and his friends. “Hey, conner,” I smiled back as I walked through the back doors of the Cameron’s house.
As soon as I walked through the doors, I smelled weed, alcohol and alcohol other things that I couldn’t figure out. I heard a few women whisper things about me but I ignored them as always.
“Joint!” The dude at the mini bar asked me. I usually have JJ get me one because I don’t know what these men do to the ones they give out to women but hey, it’s only this one time. I hope. I Hope he gets back soon…
“How much?” I asked. “For you? Free,” he smirked at me. “Oh,” I said with a slight smile as i took the joint from his hand then a lighter. “Have fun. You know where to find me,” he winked then went to serve other people.
I ended up sitting downs somewhere outside after getting myself a cup of punch mixed alcohol. After smoking the whole joint, I flicked the rest somewhere in the grass then got up to go to the bathroom.
I pushed through people, stumbling and mumbling as I felt myself about to piss on myself. I angrily pushed people until someone pushed me back. Rafe Cameron.
“Ah, look who made it! Little miss I’m to good for the Kooks,” Rafe said, making Emma scoff and roll my eyes. “Or maybe I’m just to good for you,” i said, making his friends oouu throughout the party.
“We’ll see about that, princess,” Rafe said. I rolled my eyes again as I pushed passed him and made my way upstairs to finally use the bathroom. I rushed through the hallway until I finally found the bathroom to relieve myself.
I’ve noticed that even after relieving myself, i didn’t feel better. My stomach still turned and twisted as my head pounded. Usually after doing this, I’ll feel way better but it’s like I’m getting worse every seconds. I can barley see.
“Fuck,” I cussed as I stumbled out of the bathroom. The halls seem longer then they were when I came up here. “That worked fast,” someone said behind me, making me turn slowly and carefully. It’s Rafe.
“What? I had to piss,” I slurred. “Maybe it’s cause you’re a stoner whore but that’s fine. As long as I’ll always have you so cute and helpless,” he said as he walked towards me, causing me to back up.
“What? What are you talking about?” I asked, backing up and hoping to get to the stares until tripped. I almost fell to the ground until Rafe caught me. Rafe then threw me over his shoulder and began walking the opposite way to the stairs.
“Hey, put me down!” I demanded but he didn’t listen. He continued walking until he made it into a room, closed and locked the doors before throwing me on a very comfortable bed.
“I did what you asked, now you do what I ask,” Rafe said as he unbuttoned and ripped his shirt off and began fondling with his beltbuckle. “I- What? What do you want?” I asked, having a hard time focusing.
“Spread your legs so I can pump that sweet pussy of yours,” he said, shocking me. “What!? Wait- No! I’m not doing- Rafe, get off! Get off of me!” I yelled at him as he started forcing my skirt off. “Resist and I’ll make your life harder than it’ll already get,” he threatened.
I kept fighting, hoping he’d stop but he didn’t. He proceeded to rip my panties clean off. I can tell he did a line of coke before he brought hisself upstairs. It’s like he powered up.
“Get off of me you dick!” I yelled at him with cracks in my voice as he forced himself in between my legs. “I’m gonna fuck you so good tonight,” he growled under his breath as he began to force his tip into me.
“Rafe, no! No!” I screamed, feeling every percent of alcohol and weed get to me. “Fuuck!” Rafe groaned as he pushed deep inside me. “No!” I cried as my head began to pound harder.
“Cmon, princess. Don’t tell me you hate it,” Rafe fake pouted as he pushed my waist into the bed. He slammed into me with no mercy, ignoring and taunting my begs and cries. He won’t stop.
“Just relax. You’re not getting out of this, baby,” Rafe whispered as my eyes started feeling heavy. It’s not hard to tell I was probably laced. “I made sure you’d have a good relaxing night,” he said as he kept his ruthless pounding.
“P-Please,” I tried pushing at his chest but I’m getting weaker by the second. “Sure, I’ll go faster,” he said and did. “N-No, no,” I cried low as my cervix began to hurt. “Mhm, fuck, I’m close,” he groaned. That was the last thing I heard before I passed out.
NEXT DAY
As soon as I woke up, I smelled bacon, egg and a pancakes. I smiled for a split second until I remembered last night. I quickly jumped out of bed but feel on my ass, as my legs were to weak.
I stayed overnight here. At the Cameron’s house. I’m Rafe Cameron’s bsf. After he raped me. I habe do get out of here. I can’t be seen here.
I slowly got up and limped over towards the door, still feeling pounding in my head. “You up?” Rafe asked as he opened the door, causing me to step back a few steps. Why does he look happy? Does he not remember what he did to me?
“Why, Rafe?” I asked, feeling my eyes burn at the tears being held back. “Why what?” He asked. “Why did you rape me?” I asked him, hoping he’d apologize and let me leave in peace.
“I didn’t rape you,” he said, causing my heart to drop. “It’s not rape if most of the time you were moaning and whining. And also cumming in me all night,” he said, making me feel sick.
“I-I gotta go,” I said, feeling my heart ache. “Nah, you’re staying here,” Rafe pushed me back. “No, I’m leaving!” I yelled at him which gained my a hard slap to my face, causing me to fall to the ground. He quickly hovered over me and grabbed my neck, forcing me to look at him.
“Yell at me again, y/n, and I’ll fuck you in your ass,” he threatened as tears streamed down my face. “Now come downstairs to eat,” he said as he got up. That’s when I quickly kicked his crotch, causing him to instantly fall to the ground in pain.
“Fuck!” He yelled as I got up and limped over to my shorts I was going to leave. I grabbed my phone and keys that were on his desk then ran out of his room to get away from him.
I safely got home and ran into my house quickly to take a shower, hoping I can get him out of my mind and off of my body. I’ve always known he was bad but not like this. I didn’t know he was evil. This is why JJ never wanted me around him.
SKIP A FEW DAYS
I’m currently in front of Mr. Wards house after he send an email, telling me to drop off the paint he ordered, today. I never wanted to come back here but I don’t see Rafe’s motorcycle in sight. Maybe he’s gone. I hope he is.
I took a deep breath before getting out of my car and grabbing the paint, Mr. Ward ordered. I made my way to the front of the house and knocked a few times until I read a note telling me to place the paint in their living room.
I sighed as I slowly opened the front door. Of course it was unlocked. He might be out. Maybe that’s why Rafe isn’t here. I quickly made my way to their living room and placed the pant down.
I pulled out my phone and emailed Me. Ward back, telling him I left the paint right next to their couch with all the painting towels he needs.
I turned around and went to head out until I saw Rafe leaned up against the wall. “That was to easy,” he said. “You- You planned this days ago,” I said, feeling my heart pound. “And it worked,” he said after he pushed himself off of the wall.
He took a hard step towards me, making me jump in fear. He’s playing with me. He’s even laughing to himself because he knows I’m scared and helpless. It’s like he’s the cat and I’m the mouse.
“Rafe, don’t do this. Just let me go and I won’t tell. I-I promise,” I said. “Who’s going to believe a Pogue anyways?” He asked and right after dashed after me. I quick turned around but couldn’t get away.
Rafe grabbed my hair and pulled me over to the back of a couch. “No!” I screamed and fought but he liked it. How can I tell? He’s grinding his cock on my ass. “That’s it. Cry for me. Makes me rock hard,” he whispered in my ear.
“No, no, no!” I cried, hoping he’d lay me go but I need to stop trying to see the hood in him. He’s evil. “I made love to you the other night and you called it rape,” Rafe spoke as he pulled my shorts and panties down.
“I’ll show you rape,” Rafe said as he pulled himself out of his shorts. “No!” I tried pushing myself off of the couch but I was to late. He slammed into me roughly as he grabbed my hair and waist.
“You’re just so irresistible. I should have started earlier,” he groaned in my ear as I cried. I feel myself growing wet, but I don’t like this. “You’re so fuckin’ tight, baby,” he whispered in my ear.
“Fuck, I need to see your face,” he cussed as he pulled me off of the couch then pushed me to the ground. “Wait, Rafe, please!” I begged, trying to crawl backwards but he hovered over me and wasted no time to push into me.
“Fuuuck! Look at this. Look at how much she needs me,” Rafe watched as his cock slipped in and out of my cunt with ease. “You’re sucking me in. You want me, don’t you, y/n? I’ve always known,” he said, now inches away from my face.
“The way you dress around me, you must have been asking for it. I’d think Pope would have spoke to you about me and how I am. Especially JJ. I get what I want and it’s not hard to see I wanted you. Now I have your,” he growled in my ear as he picked up his paste.
“N-No! Get off of my you bastard!” I tried screaming, praying people would hear me and save but this only made him laugh more. “You’re so pathetic without your boys, aren’t you?” Rafe said as he gripped my neck tightly with both hands and leaned up to watch my body.
He knows I’m weak and he loves it. I can tell by the way he’s looking at me. I’m like his prey. He’s wanted me for awhile and now he finally has me. He took me. I didn’t have a choice.
ONE MONTH LATER
“Yeah, I’ll be at the pool party. I just have to take care of business real quick,” I spoke on the phone with JJ. I told him that I’ve recently been assaulted and that my pregnancy test came up positive. I didn’t want to tell Pope but I felt like I had to tell JJ.
He was angry the day I told him. He wanted to know who did it. He even went as far as getting his gun and trying h to pull me to his car so I can drive him to the person but I broke down and cried. He clammed down and took care of me that day. He also convinced me to tell the group everything if this test comes out positive.
“Okay, don’t be late and wear my favorite suit. You know, for pictures,” he joked making me laugh. We said a few more things then hung up. I took a deep breath and made my way towards the Cameron’s house again.
I came here to confront Rafe amd catch his reaction on video when I tell him I’m pregnant. I should have came here with JJ but he probably would kill Rafe once he sees him. He would.
I rang the doorbell of the Cameron’s house ams stood outside for a couple of minutes before Rafe opened up the door in anger. He went to say something, probably in anger until he realized it was me. I hate the way his face lights up when he sees me.
“I told you, you’d be back. Only took a month, huh? Thought it was gonna be faster,” he chuckled to himself, making me slap me across his face. He grabbed his face, shocked at my actions as I began to cuss him out.
“You tried ruining my life, but it didn’t work! You’ve only brought me closer to the man I love, I’ve been focusing on myself more and now I’m- I’m way more confident in myself. Fuck you! You’ll never see me or this baby again,” I said.
I turned around to walk away but stopped after Rafe spoke. “So I succeeded?” He asked. “What?” I asked as I slowly turned around. “I mean, I did tell you you’ll be back and look at you. Back right?” He said in his cocky little voice.
“You fucking planned this!?” I yelled, feeling my stomach curl up. He’s sick. He’s so sick! “After hearing the news about you moving, I had to act fast. So I did,” he said as he took a step out of his house, causing me to take a step back.
“Rafe… What the fuck!” I yelled at him as tears ran down my cheek. All he did was smirk and scan me. It’s like he’s turned on by how shocked and scared I am. Sarah was right about him.
“You’ll be hearing from the cops soon,” I said as I slowly backed away then quickly turned around. I heard him move so I sped down the stared, trying not to seem like I was running away from him so he wouldn’t think I was to frighten of him but he knew. He was very much aware.
“Who’s going to tell them,” he said, right behind me. I sent my feet to take off but he grabbed me and picked me up. “No! Help! Help me-“ I screamed until he covered my mouth.
I kicked, punched, slapped, yelled. I tried everything to prevent him from dragging me into his house but he succeeded.
“Keep screaming. You know how much I like it by now,” he whispered in my ear, giving me time to throw my head back. He quickly let me go and yelled in pain. I sadly didn’t break his nose but at least he’s bleeding and hurt.
I quickly got up and ran to the back of his house as he followed me. I can hear how angry he is by his breathing and the things he’s saying as he’s chasing me around his house.
“You fucking bitch, broke my nose,” he cussed at me. I guess I did break it. It’s well deserved. “When I get my hands on you I’ll- God! You better be fucking glad you’re carrying my baby,” he angrily said, getting closer.
Him reminding me that I’m carrying his baby, instantly caused me to cry harder then I am. He’s my nightmare. I can’t escape him.
“Gotcha,” Rafe said as he picked me up. I kicked and screamed again, trying to fight against his hold but he’s way to strong. “I’ll have to tie you down this time. Don’t wanna hurt the baby,” he said in my ear.
He dragged me to a door right by the stares, scaring me. When Sarah had a party, she strictly warns people not to go down there because her brother would kill them. She told us and the gang that he’s been working on it for awhile now.
“Rafe, no!” I yelled as I tried grabbing onto the door frame but he ripped me away. “Cmon, baby. You’ll love it here!” He said like he was exited to show me what he has down here.
“No, I won’t, just- Rafe, please let me go. Please!” I cried as we made it downstairs. “Cmon! You don’t like this!? I spend months on this just for you,” he said as he dropped me to the ground after turning the lights on.
Rafe spent months on creating a huge room. I can see the chains in the bed to keep me there. The bathroom looks like it just got finished. The room style is close to what I like. He made this specifically for me.
“No, this can’t actually be happening,” I said to myself as I slowly got up and rubbed my face. “No, I can’t- I have to get out of here,” I said as I tried passing Rage with my head down, stressed and frightened but he kept getting in my way.
“You’re not going anywhere. Ever. At least not until me and you move to my family’s second house that’ll be ours. We’ll raise our family there,” he said. “No,” I kept repeating.
“Yes, y/n, and it’s time to celebrate,” he said as he touched me, trying to pull me into him by my waist but I pushed him away. “Fuck you!” I yelled at him. I instantly got slapped. Hard.
“I’ve been fucking you, so yelling it out loud won’t make it stop,” he growled as I stepped back and he stepped closer. “You’re such a- a rich son of a bitch! You think everyone wants you. I don’t want you! Let me go!” I yelled as he charged at me.
I screamed right before he picked me up and threw me onto the bed in the room. He quickly grabbed the chains connected to the bed and chained me up how he liked.
“Wearing this summer dress only made it worse for you,” Rafe said as he reached next to the bed into a drawer, pulling out scissors. He wasted no time to cut my sundress right down the middle.
“What kinda whore are you? Going out to swim in a bikini when you’re pregnant. I should punish you but I have to take it easy,” he said as he cut my bikini. “You’re so lucky,” he whispered in my ear before assaulting my neck.
I begged over and over, hoping he’d finally let this go. Let me got. But, he didn’t. It got worse every second and I can’t stop it. I have no help. “You’re trapped with me, and I’ll never let you go,” he said. Rafe Cameron kidnapped me…

A Semi Successful Rescue Mission: bowser x luigi
similar prompt as fic Frightened To Flirty in 3 Seconds Flat + the idea that bowser should have used luigi to roleplay practice his wedding with peach in the movie
first half has the same vibes as THIS post
mario, dk, and peach infiltrate bowser’s castle on a rescue mission
story under the read more
Semi Successful Rescue Mission (also on ao3)
The sound of rushed footsteps echoed through the corridors as Mario, Peach, and Donkey Kong looked for Luigi.
“We have to hurry,” Mario said, finishing a scan of the room and moving on to the next. “Based on the picture of Bowser you showed me, it might be too late!”
Sprinting down another hallway, they almost ran into a platoon  of Bowser’s troops before quickly backtracking. “Too late for what?” DK asked, trying to keep up with the plumber.
Peach gave the all clear on her end and the trio skidded around a corner, checking more rooms. “It’s only been 2 days, Mario,” she said. “It’d be too soon for Bowser to actually harm your brother; I’m honestly surprised we made it this far in so little time.”
It was true. The original plan would have taken at least another day or two, but Mario knew they would have run out of time by then.
“It’s not Luigi I’m worried about. I mean, I am worried about him,” Mario slammed another door shut and opened another. “But the one we should really be worried about is the Koopa King.”
Peach and DK paused to exchange a look. Mario stopped as well, looking to both ends of the hall before ushering the group into an empty room. “Look,” he pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing. “Sometimes when my brother gets to a certain level of scared he’ll get really, and I mean really, flirty. If that koopa is anything like your description of him we have to get to Luigi and snap him out of it.”
The two royals blinked.
“What?” Peach asked, unsure of where this was going.
“It’s some kind of- of self defense or coping mechanism, I dunno the specifics. Our cousins used to joke around about it when we were younger and call him ‘Lady Killer Luigi’ but it was a whole thing.”
Making sure the coast was clear, the three moved out and began checking the rooms for Mario’s younger brother.
“Mario, I still don’t understand-”
The three made their way to the last room with the biggest double doors Mario had seen in his life. He had a bad feeling about this.
DK snorted. “Relax, Princess. He’s probably just scared his brother’s gonna get hurt insulting that overgrown turtle with a crappy pick up line.”
“It’s much worse than that.” Mario said, pushing open the doors. Their eyes took a moment to adjust before Peach and DK’s jaws dropped. There, at the end of the aisle, was Luigi in a wedding dress. The younger plumber was standing next to a fully suited King Bowser, Kamek standing at the podium behind them.
“Not again.” Mario muttered to himself.
DK’s head whipped to the side to stare at Mario in shock. “AGAIN?!?!”
“Oh my god, what is happening right now,” Peach whispered.
“Mama Mia. This is just as bad as the time he charmed the entire wedding party and the couple getting married.”
“HE WHAT?!?!”
DK had never felt so lost and confused, so many things, so much information! He needed to sit down.
“Luigi,” Mario took a cautious step towards the ‘couple’. “Step away from the koopa.”
Luigi looked at his bro, side eyed Bowser, and then back to Mario.
His skirts swished as he shuffled a bit closer to the groom.
“Weegee, you leave him alone right this instant” Placing his hands on his hips, Mario stomped his foot on the carpet and gave his best Disappointed Big Brother stare. “You can’t marry a guy you just met!“
“Is this reality?” DK whispered to Peach as they watched the argument unfold. A few Shy Guys had joined them in the pew and were passing around bags of popcorn.
“I’m not sure anymore,” Peach answered, shoving a handful of snack into her face. She didn’t know if they should be watching but it was so hard to look away.
Luigi grinned, taking hold of the Bowser’s purple ribbon and yanking the king down to his level. The koopa grunted at the motion. “Listen here, you little-” he growled but was cut off by Mario.
“Weegee, no.”
“Good thing I’ve known him for almost 2 days then.”
“Luigi Mario, don’t you dare-”
Catching everyone by surprise, the green plumber grabbed Bowser by the face and slammed their lips together.
“MMPH?!?!?”
“Holy-!” DK and Peach squawked at the sudden kiss. Shy Guys were tossing popcorn everywhere in excitement.
“Damn it, Luigi,” Mario sighed, rubbing his temples.
Luigi pulled away first; sliding a gloved hand under the king’s chin and closing his mouth. With a wink and a playful pat to the larger man’s cheek, he turned and made his way to his big brother, shaking his shoulder.
“Relax bro, we were just practicing for his and Peach’s ‘future wedding’. It’s all pretend.“
“If you say so...”
        - 3 Hours After DK, Peach, Mario, And Luigi Leave Bowser’s Castle-
“Sire?”
Kamek shuffled into the training hall, decimated exercise equipment was scattered every which way, scorch marks evident on some of them. The advisor even saw a few claw marks on the stone walls that had definitely not been there this morning.
All evidence pointed to one thing: Bowser was furious. Not only had he been embarrassed by that coward of a green plumber, he’d also been seen practicing for his wedding with the princess and kissed said plumber, IN FRONT OF PEACH!
Plus they’d all escaped and somehow set his prisoner’s free in the process. All that hard work for nothing.
“What?” He growled, growing hot with rage just thinking about the absolute disaster today had been. “Can’t you see I’m busy?”
“I- erm, I have some... bad news, about the wedding, Your Majesty.”
The king groaned, running his claws over his face. Stupid practice wedding, stupid rizzed up plumber. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
“Yeah yeah. We’ll have to postpone it again until I recapture the hostages and fix whatever damage to the castle and troops Mario and the others did.”
He swore, the next time he saw Luigi-
“You and Luigi are officially, legally, married to each other.”
“WHAT?!?!”
Kamek barely dodged the burst of flame Bowser threw his way.
“Whaddaya mean me and Greenie are actually married?!”
The king snatched Kamek in one massive paw, eyes blazing as he glared directly at the magikoopa. “Explain!”
Apparently even just reading the scripts for the wedding could count as official if the contract was signed and the ceremony was sealed with a kiss. The advisor hadn’t thought they’d actually get that far. He’d thought even less that the plumber would be the one to initiate it as a prank on his older brother.
“Great, just great!”
Bowser released the magikoopa and tried to ward off an incoming headache. “Aauuggghh, whatever!”
“Kamek!”
“Yes, Your Ruthlessness?”
“Find a way to break the marriage contract and tell the troops to set a course to the Mushroom Kingdom.”
“But Sire! You can’t marry the princess if-”
“We’re not kidnapping her this time,” Bowser snapped, smoke and sparks appearing at the edges of his muzzle.
“We’re getting my ‘bride’ back.
BONUS
can’t write this part but some possible ideas:
the others get informed about the situation (king consort luigi) via magic ball zoom call with kamek and toadsworth
mario is panicking, peach is worried, DK thinks it’s hilarious, and luigi’s nervous but honestly fine with it
bowser tries to kidnap luigi either loudly or quietly:
loudly:bowser bursts thru a wall or sets a diversion, kidnaps luigi, but luigi switches back to rizz mode; the divorce can only happen if both parties sign
quietly: he gets caught (luigi stalls him) and ends up talking with everyone; there’s a part where he’s like ‘I’m just trying to divorce the guy but all the divorce stuff is at my castle’
bowser’s signature was already on the contract during the practice run, luigi sneakily signed it as a joke when no one was looking before leaving
slow burn thing where bowser starts crushing on luigi while trying to convince him to get a divorce
normal luigi starts being less scared at the koopa kingdom and uses his status to form relationships with other kingdoms kinda behind bowser’s back
luigi also teases mario about liking DK

i just realized something. my player characters with bethesda-mandated family (lone wanderer gwen and sole survivor sofia) are estranged from that family. meanwhile my couriers (moz, kiwi, and avery) have pretty good relationships with their families :) that's what happens when a backstory isn't forced to your character i guess!!
details under the cut
gwen and james, though stuck in close proximity in the vault for 19 years, are as distant as can be. james has his work, his projects. gwen has all the turbulent drama of childhood and teenage life. they have their moments, but otherwise? nothing much. except for lectures and reprimands, they don't really talk, especially post-james and ellen's divorce. gwen has more of a relationship with ellen and butch than james.
their relationship gets worse topside, when after all gwen has done to get to james is pushed to the side because all james can think of is project purity. so after he dies, what does gwen do? let his pet project die as well. she doesn't even know what the passcode number is, when sarah lyons asks her. how the fuck would she know? her father barely told her anything. she didn't know ellen deloria wasn't her biological mom until after james divorced ellen and told gwen the truth. she's not even sure if he loved her for herself, or if he just loved her the way a parent loves their child - as an extension of themself and their values. now that he's dead, she'll never know for sure.
sofia has a good relationship with her family back home in the philippines, all six siblings and both parents and both sets of grandparents, and countless uncles and aunts and cousins of them. the problem is nate. and shaun, eventually. the thing is, sofia never imagined herself marrying a foreigner, much less a blue-eyed american soldier. she never would have married nate if he hadn't gotten her pregnant. but with abortion being illegal in the philippines, and with nate being "a true gentleman" in his words, there was little else she could do.
in boston, a shotgun wedding. which turned into a loveless marriage pretty quick, once the honeymoon phase wore off. homesickness. morning sickness. anti-asian racist microagressions from neighbors who've never met a filipino before, even though america annexed the philippines decades ago. a miserable life, freshly post-partum and friendless and jobless, all alone in a big house with only a baby and a robot butler for company. who wouldn't fall into a deep depression?
and don't get me started on shaun. sofia placed all her hopes and dreams and joys on meeting her baby boy and watching him grow up, teaching him tagalog and sharing with him all her favorite meals and memories. can you imagine how sofia felt, when he got kidnapped? when she spent her first year in the post-apocalypse relentlessly trying to find him? when she killed kellogg in her rage and grief over him? when, finally, they meet and he isn't a baby but an old man, the leader of the group she's looking to dismantle, and she realizes that he came from her but he's not of her, he doesn't know her and she doesn't know him, and she hates everything he stands for, but still she's his mother and she loves him but she'll never like him? can you imagine???
meanwhile: moz and her big family with her mothers dalisay and philomena, her big brother lakan with his wife guadalupe and their eight kids (all adopted), and her husband ulysses and their child ree, plus everyone in the painted hairs, everyone in their town whom she calls tito and tita and ate and kuya and bunso and totoy and nene :) nothing but love and understanding there!!
kiwi and their family of butchers and tailors - grandmother, father, mother, and brothers, all adept with shiny sharp things. strict but loving, in the "i want what i think is best for you" kind of way. kiwi would have stayed if their father didn't keep forcing the butchershop and their straight marriage to a family friend's daughter on them. honestly if kiwi went home, they'd find their father a changed man - he only wants kiwi to be happy, really; if wearing sequins and being the right-hand man of mr house is the key to that happiness, then so be it!
avery is an only son, raised by a single mother after his ncr ranger father died. he and his mother will defend each other to death - which is why avery set fire to his mother's asshole (now ex-)boyfriend's house when he hurt avery's mom. on the run, avery still writes letters home. he never leaves a return address until after he gains amnesty for his arson charge. by then, his return address is the lucky 38. his mom sends him one hell of a letter. the first thing he does after winning the battle of hoover dam is go home to his mom :)

Hoseok looked around the park, taking in the familiar green spaces, the people resting in the sunlight, and the dogs running around. Once again, he’s at the closest park to his apartment. Normally he only spends time here when his work was extremely stressful. Long days stuck in the library made Hoseok yearn for a bit of fresh air and green. Somehow being here for a reason other than that filled him with a sense of wrongness and anxiety. For too long this place has been associated with releasing stress and exhaustion, but less stress during the semester was different than less stress during a break.
You were late. Hoseok didn’t know why you’d texted him asking to meet here already but now you were late and that was making him more confused. You weren’t often late to things. In fact, unless something was actively delaying you, you often were waiting for Hoseok by the time he arrived.
“Excuse me!” A child ran up to him, their eyes shy and apprehensive, and they barely looked at Hoseok. They looked anxious  and that made him feel worse, “Do you think you could take a photo of me and my dog? My mom is off somewhere and I need this photo now.”
They held out a battered phone.
Hoseok nodded slowly, taking the phone and watching the child run off to a dog by the water fountain. After taking these photos, he would ask the kid if they needed help finding their mom. The kid seemed too anxious to be here without their mom.
After taking a few photos though, the kid ran up and grabbed the phone and ran away. Hoseok turned around calling out to the kid to make sure they were ok but quickly the words were silenced.
You were standing with a big bouquet of flowers and giving the kid a wad of money.
“What’s happening here?” Hoseok asked as he got closer, confusion growing as the kid giggled and ran away.
“My cousin wanted to help.” You said with a shrug, a small smile stuck on your face as you took Hoseok in.
“Help with what?”
You took in a deep breath, “Well… I… Gosh this is hard and I practiced it.”
Hoseok came closer, rubbing your shoulder to try to comfort you, “You got this. There’s no rush.”
Except Hoseok was wishing you’d spit it out. This was very nerve wracking. His fool heart was screaming at the flowers but his mind thought had no idea what this would possibly be (because it couldn’t be a confession). Why had you paid a kid to get Hoseok to take photos? Why did you have flowers? Why were you so nervous?
“All the time I’ve known you, you’ve been so thoughtful and kind. I really… like that about you. You’re considerate of everyone and work hard to make space for them. You shine so much. And your so passionate about everything, it’s breathtaking. All this to say, I like you romantically. I know you have a crush on someone and I don’t mean to confess so that you don’t confess to them, but it was on my mind so much and the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I had to tell you because otherwise I’d be full of so much regret. And these flowers are for you, you don’t have to accept them but I just felt like someone as amazing as you deserved something with a confession but Jungkook told me not to do a marching band or a banner or something too over the top.”
“You… like… me?” Hoseok asked slowly, his mind barely computing.
You nodded, holding out the bouquet for him.
Slowly he took it and smelled it. He’d never been given a bouquet from a romantic partner or potential romantic partner before.
“You don’t have to respond or accept! I honestly don’t expect you to. I just had to share. I hope that you’re able to date your crush and that it’s a long lasting relationship. We might need to talk about boundaries and stuff but I don’t mind that. I want what’s best for you.”
Hoseok looked down at their pinkies. Their hands were so close together that the string was smaller than a pen. Moving his hand closer, the string to smaller. Grabbing your hand, he watched as the string almost disappeared.
“When Jieun said I had a crush, they were referring to you.”
A large smile grew on your face, “Me?”
He nodded, readjusting the bouquet and pulling you into a hug. It was awkward because he also refused to let go of your hand but it was magical to Hoseok.
“You.”

Kloktober 2023: Favorite Headcanon
This was gonna be two separate posts ,but for the occassion I combined both of them. Takes place at a hypothetical point after AOTD ,but the only major spoilers are for Requiem. Enjoy
Skwisgaar: I should has knowns all alongs. Why hasn't I figures this outs sooners?
Charles: Skwisgaar, I know it's a lot to process ,but...these dark secrets I've held for way too long now
...
Skwisgaar: YOU WAS DUTCHS THISK WHOLE TIMES?!!!
Charles: Wait that's what you're worried about? You do realize I...committed actual war crimes even before I met you guys, right? Could at least get the country you're disparaging me for right.
Skwisgaar: I cans excuse murders buts how cans I works with a mans from a country that only hasks three hour of sunlights and and obskessed with windmills?! Most happiests countries in the worlds my asskes!
Charles: Ummm (not sure where to start with that one)
Pickles: Wait a minute, how the f🎸k do you have an American accent? ...And also actually speak English correctly?
Charles: Were you even paying attent- I'll just... Look the point is-
Skwisgaar: Psst Du kan inte ens tala ditt modersmål rätt.
Charles: *sigh* Jeg har ikke tid til det her, du afsporer samtalen mere end normalt.
Nathan: *quietly* The hell's going on now?
Skwisgaar: Det låter som att du suget en spikad dildo.
Charles: Åh som din mor?!
Even if the English-speaking Dethklok members didn't pick up on what he was saying they at least felt the emotion of that one with Skwisgaar and Toki being especially shocked in the "holy shit, did he just say that?!" sense. The latter filling Charles with some regret as Norwegian is the closest linguistic cousin to Danish so it was crystal clear(ish) to him
Swksigaar: Maybes I umm...I mights has takes it too fars...I ams kinds of wish she dids does that sometimes. So like...I ain'ts that offendeds ,but likes...I nevers seens thats before. Likes...wow!
Charles: *deep breathe* I'm sorry I'm just...not immune to stress either. And this has whole thing has been hard for me as it has for all of you.
Pickles: It's cool (the other band members overlapping with some variation of that)
Toki: Why dids you sounds so demons possesseds though?
Murderface: I mean I can only imagine how frustrating it must feel being trapped in that underwater volcano for years…getting all steamy and…populated entirely by men.
Nathan: God it’s pretty much that stupid submarine but like ten times worse because you got that vow of celibacy and shit. Are they also allowed not to jerk off?
Charles: Well ummm you don’t have to worry about that because I uhh…I’m actually asexual.
Pickles: A sexual…what? Deviant? Voyeur? W-what do you mean?
Charles: *just kind of stares in bewilderment*
Skwisgaar: I think he ams just means he cans makes littles tiny Charle by splitting himskelfs in twos.
Nathan: What like if you tear his arm off a while f🎸king guy will grow from it?
Toki: I thinks so?
Nathan: That’s pretty metal if you ask me
Charles: Guys it just means I’m not interested in sex. Alright? Like you were constantly living up to the sex, drugs, and rock n roll but honestly... I was personally into a third of those things.
Murderface: ...I guess that makes sense?
Pickles: How the hell did you put up with us for so long though?
*insert montage of Charles staring at him in the background of various escapades with groupies just looking mildly annoyed at worst*
Charles: Honestly, all due respect: you kind of build up one hell of tolerance for pretty much everything.
Nathan: I guess that makes sense
... (long moment of silence, the sound of frosty winds filling the awkward atmosphere)
Charles: And umm if you're curious we are allowed, just so long as it doesn't end being used for procreation it's fine.
Nathan: Yeah but do you umm specifically umm y'know?
Charles: I can neither confirm nor deny that right now
Nathan: 'Kay umm that's fine.
...
Charles: I missed you guys, I really did

[Also author's notes: 90% of the Swede-Dane conversation was Google Translated, I am sorry (I have a Norwegian acquaintance on Discord ,but I didn't want to bother them especially since...well I won't ruin the joke but it was quite much if fun to write) althpugh I did make human corrections when needed and I did at least translate that last phrase on my own. Could've still screwed up]

Poor guy . . .
beginning - previous - next
[NICHOLAS] I was seventeen. I remember failing a science test at sixteen but . . . I don’t remember the funeral. I don’t remember reacting. Like, I watched YouTube videos of myself from that time and it felt like watching a stranger. It’s just a void, that whole three-month period.
[THERAPIST] That’s totally normal, sir, shock after a traumatic incident can result in loss of memory, people often experience dissociation.
[NICHOLAS] Yeah, I guess . . . but for months?
[THERAPIST] It’s not uncommon. shock can last years. So, you remember absolutely nothing? Nothing about family, friends? How ubiquitous was this void?
[NICHOLAS] Well, there were two sides of it . . . the public side, I remember next to nothing, maybe standing outside the gates of Chester Palace with my brother but . . . Other than that, I mostly remember being alone at home. My mom was in a lot of pain, obviously, so she wasn’t really around. In fact, I don’t remember seeing her, it was my dad’s private secretary who was looking after us before we got sent to our grandparents’.
[NICHOLAS] I mean, it was a very lonely time. My uncle was getting a divorce, so I wasn’t allowed to see my cousins through him, my brother stayed locked in his rooms. My mom . . . I wanted to be with my mom, my dad would have wanted me to protect my mom, but it was so intense with her. It was real. I couldn’t handle it, I didn’t know how to make her feel better, I still don’t, I guess . . .
[NICHOLAS] I sometimes have these dreams about my dad—maybe nightmares would be a better word, I don’t know—anyway, in these dreams he never has a face, it’s always hidden, and he’s always asking about my mom. If she’s happy or feeling better and . . . I’ve had these dreams on and off for ten years. Never once did I have a positive answer for him. Never once.
[NICHOLAS] How do I tell him? “I think Mom has PTSD” or “Mom moved up to Collingwood because everything in the city reminds her of you” or “Sorry, Dad, I outran my childhood and left Mom behind in the process”. Those aren’t the things he’d want to hear, but that’s all I have. Even worse if he asks about Alex.
[THERAPIST] You and your brother aren’t close?
[NICHOLAS] We haven’t been in years. There’s a royal biographer who’s writing a book. He’s been talking it up a bunch on the news. It will follow three generations of brothers in my family. My grandfather and his brother, my father and my Uncle Phillip, and me and Alex. It’s going to analyze the tensions that cause heirs and spares to break apart.
[NICHOLAS] Dozens of sources have already signed off on it, it won’t be good for us. The author is claiming my father would be shocked and upset about me and Alex . . . but I’m not sure. If he were alive to see the things Uncle Phillip has said and done, he wouldn’t be on speaking terms with him, either. He knows what that estrangement feels like, he wouldn’t be surprised. Which I guess still proves the author’s point, ironically.
[NICHOLAS] I always stay up late to read the news. If it’s not about my family, it’s about the cost of living crisis and all that.I constantly worry about this stuff.
[THERAPIST] You’re just one man, you can’t realistically solve everything.
[NICHOLAS] I don’t mean to sound conceited, but I am not just some random guy. That’s the whole point. I can do more but everyone around me wants me to do next to nothing.
[NICHOLAS] This might sound rich, but I envy the protestors. People act as if they’re a problem, but I admire them. Tens of thousands of people coming together to fight for something they believe in. I’ve never experienced that type of unity in my entire life—if anyone ever comes to you for a quote, don’t tell them I said that.
[THRARPIST] These sessions are completely confidential, sir, I couldn’t tell anyone even if I wanted to.
[NICHOLAS] Yeah, well, I’m sure you’ve already noticed, but I have very bad trust issues.
[THERAPIST] What makes you say that?
[NICHOLAS] I honestly have no idea. It just . . . I don’t know.
[CORALINE’S ARTICLE] While promoting my most recent novel, Currents, I’ve had the honour of speaking with many young people at various university campuses. Many have told me my writing has uplifted and inspired them. However, with the cost of living crisis looming in the background, these conversations have become less uplifting and more uncertain and even abjectly pessimistic. The truth is, young people are struggling.
[NICHOLAS] I have a hard to processing loss. Not just my father, but other people, too.
[THERAPIST] Others?
[NICHOLAS] I haven’t said her name in years, but, yeah, she’s an other.

So much for stardust chapter twenty four
“Can I examine Kenz? Please?”
Bee handed me over as Ford took X rays of my lungs. “Severe pneumonia.” Ford sighed. “Can I take a shower now? I smell like a litter box.”
“Care to explain what you were doing with Bee on the couch?”
“Care to explain why that’s a problem?” I noticed a hickey on my gills. “Look, I know you’re going for the whole protective dad thing, but I’m a young adult. I can make my own poorly guided decisions. I got carried away, and…” I started giggling as Ford raised an eyebrow. “Carried away?”
“I may have a little crush on her…” I coughed. “She’s sweet, cuddly, and…” I felt myself heat up inside. “Look. All I’m saying is, be careful.”
“I know…” I couldn’t help but think about Dipper. “How’s Dipper doing?”
“Bill fucked him up pretty good.” Ford was grim, showing me the results of Dipper’s drug test. “Oh shit. That’s bad. Is he okay?”
“I’ve seen Dipper survive worse.” Ford sighed. “But what’s going to happen next is that Bill is gonna target you.”
“Target me?”
“Kenz, whatever you do. Don’t sleep for the next few days.” Ford started to frantically pace back and forth. “Bill knows about how, what’s the word—“
“I’m not continuing this discussion if you’re gonna slut shame me. Honestly. I thought you were above that.” I furiously stood up, turning around. Ford’s jaw dropped as I sulked off to the living room. I turned on the TV and started watching Rio. “Kenz—“
I flipped Ford off, curling up tightly and holding back the tears. “I just don’t want you taken advantage of—“
“Who gave you the authorization to care? You’re not my dad and you’ll never be.” I turned off the TV and took the first dose of my antibiotic. I stormed outside, climbing up a tree.
I watched below as birds fluttered and bugs flew past. It was a peaceful spring afternoon, despite the moody tension. I noticed a doe and her fawn walk through the woods. I smiled, watching the pair waltz through the greenery.
Suddenly, I heard a familiar shriek in the forest belonging to a voice I thought I would never hear from ever again. Instinctively, I transformed into my Umbredoggo form and bolted in the direction of the shriek. A tall shadowy figure loomed over a tall woman with blue eyes with medium length platinum blonde hair and unmistakable blue eyes. She was wearing camo hunting gear and frantically panicked to get her gun.
The shadowy monster changed form into that of a giant hairy beast with fangs and bright amber eyes. “Hold on!!!”
“McKenzie?” I tackled the beast and wrestled it down the hill. The beast transformed into my exact form. Shapeshifter! I slashed at it with my claws, which caused it to run off into the woods. I collapsed from a wound on my chest, reverting to my human form.
The woman rushed up to me, noticing the wound. “Oh my god! McKenzie!!!” She gave me a hug as I drenched her camp coat in my blood my accident. Hailey. My heart lurched as my cousin hugged me. “What the fuck are you doing in Oregon, Hails? And in Gravity Falls?”
“I’m on spring break, silly goose.” She smiled before panicking at the sight of my wound. “What are you doing here? I thought you moved in with your grandma and—“
“Ditched the Rogers making ‘false’ allegations of abuse from my father?” I shook my head. “Try fleeing from a pandimensional demon who wanted your ass for years and… Fuck. I can’t really tell you the full story. Just make sure I don’t pass out.” I leaned on my cousin as she walked me back to the shack through the woods. She knocked on the door, to which Stan answered. “Hailey!!!”
“Hey Grunkle Stan.” Stan nearly panicked at the sight of the wound on my chest. “Uh, make sure that Ford doesn’t find out—“
“That I don’t find out what?” Ford’s face was pale as he noticed the wound on my chest. “Kenz!!!”
“I don’t need your help, old man!!” I turned away, only to collapse on the ground with blood tricking from my mouth. “Kenz!”
“I’m just glad I got to see my cousin.” I smiled, thinking that this was the end. But Ford immediately went to work patching up the wound. “You should be resting. You have pneumonia.”
“Kenz doing anything but rest? Hah! They’re the laziest person in the world.” Hailey tried to alleviate the situation with comedy. “Not fucking helping.”
“Come on. Loosen up.”
“Says you. You always prided yourself as the grumpy one.”
“Since when did I do that?” Hailey sat down on the couch next to me. “Oh that’s right. You have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to our childhood. Probably because—“
“Because what?”
“Never mind. You won’t believe what I have to say anyways.” There was bitterness in my voice. “I mean it’s fucking clear that you were the better one of us. You never had an issue in your life. I don’t envy you though. Because if I did, that would be just sad and petty.” I curled up to hide my wound.
“What happened to you?” Hailey was visibly holding back the tears. “You’re even more grouchy since before you left.”
“Glad to know that my attitude is appreciated.” I noticed Mabel walk into the room. “Who is this?”
“My name’s Hailey. I’m Kenz’s cousin.”
“Careful. Mabel tackled hugs. She’s like if Cameron grew up and ate nothing but cocaine.”
“HI HI HI!!! MY NAME’S MABEL!!!!” Mabel tackled Hailey to the ground. “Are you Kenz’s cousin that they—“
I cleared my throat. “Sorry. I thought I heard a bit of drama—“
“Mabel. Can you butt out of it? We’re just adult cousins.” I sat up, crossing my arms. “Oh. Okay.” Mabel left the room as Ford approached me. “Don’t even bother.” I grabbed my phone and started scrolling through Pinterest, looking at pictures of Pokemon.
“And, there’s the Kenz I know. Always on their phone. Not bothering to interact with their family.” Hailey rolled her eyes as I angrily put my phone down. “I don’t need to fucking hear from the peanut gallery over here.”
“Language.”
“English!!!” I turned away from Hailey. I’m not even gonna bother asking for a thanks for saving her life because I don’t need it. It’s just what anyone else would have done when they saw someone in distress.
“Well thank you for saving me from that monster. Although I’m a little confused. I saw that there was this other monster fighting the monster that had me cornered. It looked like a wolf deer with wings like a bat. And it had your voice. Man, did you get bitten by a monster and now you have that freaky monster form?”
I curled up tightly, unwilling to respond. “Kenz. Why are you so grumpy?”
“Believe me. I’ve been trying to decipher that for weeks.” I glared at Ford as he stifled a laugh. Mabel walked back in, noticing the agitation in my gaze. “What’s up with them?”

You ever have a thought that pops in and just won't let go until it's out?
So. That's how I ended up writing nearly a thousand words of a conversation between John Constantine and Dream of the Endless. About relationships? This is a universe in which both John and Johanna exist because I said so.
Anyway! Have this ficlet. I hope you enjoy it.
Thoughts and Stars
The night air was cool enough to see his breath, but not so cold as to keep John Constantine indoors. Politely, he held the door open for the bloke following after him before letting it shut. The murmured gratitude was appreciated and, honestly, more than he'd expected. He took up a lean against the rough brick wall and tugged a box of toothpicks out of one of his coat’s many pockets.
"Was your preference not for tobacco products, sorcerer? We could have remained indoors." Dream's low rumble of a voice always felt like being rubbed with a cat pelt against the grain. He enjoyed the sensation, but always knew that meant something was bound to scratch his eyes out. No matter. He'd been through worse.
John slipped one of the toothpicks between his lips and rolled it around with his tongue. "I've quit. Johanna did a thing that made my cigs taste like actual ash. No fun anymore."
"And how is your fair cousin?" Dream somehow managed to make leaning against the building look dignified. It was the worst.
"Annoying as ever. Making the usual mistakes. You know how family is." He gestured vaguely and tilted his head back against the wall. His eyes narrowed as he stared up at the sky. "There aren't usually that many stars in the sky, mate."
He thought, for a moment, that he heard a chuckle beside him. He'd never dare to assume laughter from the entity beside him. "There are always that many stars in the sky, Constantine. And more besides."
"Right, right. Something about the infinite universe. But we can't see them here." He pointed at the offending sky for emphasis. "Too much light in the city."
Dream's head tilted, moonlight reflecting off of his pale skin. He looked like he was fucking glowing. Maybe John would have been better off bringing his drink out with them. "Perhaps there may be more visible stars than there usually are. There will be those that appreciate them for the time that they are there."
John leaned to peer in through the window at the table they'd vacated. Hob Gadling was chatting with the waiter, not seeming to mind being left on his own. Perhaps it was his years of experience that gave him such ease and confidence. Years and years of experience. He settled back in his lean, chewing lightly on his toothpick before speaking. "I don't get it, you know. What he sees in you."
Out of the corner of his eye, he could have sworn that he saw something resembling a smile lift the corner of Dream's lips. "Nor do I. It has been a question I have yet to find the answer to."
It was more of an answer than he'd expected. "He's just so normal. Kind. Understanding. And you–" John looked up at the taller man. Had he grown in the last few seconds? "Well, you're a surly twat at the best of times. No offense meant."
"You cannot lie to me, Constantine." Dream slanted a glance his way, dark eyes unfathomable as John could have sworn he heard the ominous rumble of thunder out of the otherwise cloudless sky. "It is possible that he has more in common with you than you know. Perhaps he also prefers lovers with more of a bite."
The expression on Dream's face could have been called a smile then, but it was a baring of teeth to anyone who had been really looking. Teeth. Rows of them. For a heartbeat, his features had sharpened before they smoothed into their usual form.
John got the message.
"Low blow, mate," John groused, spitting his toothpick onto the pavement. "There was no need to bring him up and you know it. I didn't mean any insult. You're prickly and showing it."
Dream let out a huff. "I am, perhaps, sensitive when it comes to the subject of Hob Gadling." The muscles in his jaw tensed. "He is profoundly human."
"Except for the immortality bit, though. But who's judging? People would kill for that gift." And worse. As if deciding that neither of them needed to comment on that unfortunate fact, they lapsed into silence.
"He would take you back, you know." Dream murmured after a few minutes had passed. "With the right apology and a sentimental gift, King Shark would take you back."
John's breath caught as his heart flipped about in his chest. "Would he now? I thought he'd bite my head off the next time he saw me."
Dream canted his head to the side. "His dreams are full of longing, the violence softened by time and distance."
Shoving his hands into his pockets, John looked up at the stars. "Hob's been good for you. Made you a bit soft, though, but I think it's done you good. That was almost kind there."
"Was it not?" Dream's voice felt like it was everywhere and nowhere.
John's fingers fumbled in his pockets until the sharp point of a tooth dug into the pad of his thumb. "Jury's still out."
There was a thoughtful hum from his companion. "I shall leave you with your thoughts, John Constantine." Without another word, Dream swept past him and back into the building.
Through the glass, John could hear the muffled sound of Hob's infectious laughter. Maybe it wasn't too late for him after all. If the tall scary embodiment of dreams and nightmares could make it work, there might be hope for him yet.

Once again I have just woken up and saw a new fic from you and read it and I am going to Scream
God the basement incident. Reading about it in the game felt like getting hit by a ton of bricks and reading your interpretation of the events that led up to it feels worse. I hate how well you conveyed the slowly growing tension and worry as Giann realises Marius is missing and can't find him anywhere. God, the kids who did it were so young too. At most 10 years old and already having nearly killed one of their cousins. I never realised how horrifying the implications were until now.
I really like the ice and cold theme that's present throughout the fic. While Marius was hit with the physical sensation of the coldness of the basement, it manifests in Giann as his mental state. It's such a good way to show how that incident impacted them both and tie Giann's feelings back to that incident in a more tangible way. The chill of that basement never really left him, even though it's been long enough for the seasons to change and to be outwardly warm.
Giann shouldering all of this on his own bevause of how busy his father is...Man
Bringing in Giann and Marius' mom too oh my god the way he feels like he failed her because he failed to protect and take care of Marius in that incident and now needs to make up for it...
That last paragraph hurts so much knowing that Giann is missing now. How must he be feeling, knowing that he once again can't be there for his brother when he needs him?
God this fic hurt so much, I think this might be the most angst I've read from your work since "and I feel my past regrets slipping into present tense". Excellent fic, I love your portrayal of Giann so much and I love the way you wrote about how the basement incident impacted him. Honestly, this might be one of my favourite fics you've written.
🌌
wAAHHH good morning milkyway, thank you for reading "growing pains"!!! for a balanced breakfast, get a healthy heap of....angst.

but gosh thank u so much for this ask, im so glad the pain managed to hit hard since it’s been quite a while since i last stretched my angst writing muscle (and my fic writing muscle in general OTL) so im rlly relieved to be seeing the emotionally devastated comments cuz phew thank god….ive still got it….. ;w;
hashing out the more specific details of how i imagined The Basement Incident was really interesting for me to do! all marius says in canon is along the lines of “a few older kids trapped me there as a prank” and “they were probably tired of seeing how everyone paid attention to me like planets orbiting the sun” and like. how much older is older. it cant be that old, because unthinking jealousy like that is such childish playground bully behavior. they were kids too, not really understanding the consequences of their actions
i actually cut a scene that was in my outline where like, those three kids who trapped marius in there were crying in the commotion once the ambulance came and once the Gravity of what happened set in. i cut it out for pacing reasons and for “giann, in that moment, would not care or notice them at all” reasons.
…..funfact: this is actually the fic where i think i did the most ever cutting of scenes and lines i first put down.
i wanted to be a little bit more restrained in how i wrote this? like, before i sent it to my girlfriend for editing, there were way more lines in the flashbacks further describing the “cold” of the setting and marius’ hypothermia, more paragraphs detailing giann’s experience of guilt, etc. i took em out. not rlly for the express benefit of the fic exactly, but i just wanted to try a “less is more” approach for once to see how it’d feel.
my verdict there is it’s super fun, results in a “muted” kind of reading experience that fit well here. the connections make themselves. it doesnt come to me as naturally as my more ramble internal monolog heavy shtick (i needed to look at my first draft for a whole afternoon just wondering what i wanted to axe JHKJHFSD) but it’s definitely a kind of technique i wanna try practicing more
writing process rambles aside, oh my gosh. “I think this might be the most angst I've read from your work since "and i feel my past regrets slipping into present tense” ” this is high praise to me since that fic is still one that i consider my most miserable piece in this fandom jvkJVJHFVKSDH
thank you so much for the lovely comment, milkyway!!! it’s always such a delight to see your thoughts and im so happy you liked this fic :’D

a pretty good excuse (1/2)
sypnosis - You find your heavily-pregnant ex boyfriend on a tram-bus while on your way to your cousin's place for a party you don't want to go to. feat - Javier (OC, he/him)
contents - trans mpreg, labor pains & eventual birth, implied past assault/abuse, 2nd person POV, queer reader word count - 2842 words, goddamn
(if you think you've seen this before you're right - i initially posted this a day or so ago but tumblr nuked it so i'm reposting without the inline link.) (edit: it worked. i'll link my oc rentry some other way)
You were on your way to your family home for the holidays - one of your cousins always insisted on throwing this huge party feast thing to bring the family together for festivities. It was never anything you really wanted to go to, for "queer person having to visit their overwhelmingly cishet family" reasons, but your parents always insisted, not wanting you to drop off the face of the earth since you'd moved out a couple years back. None of them were openly bigoted, but it was clear none of them could relate to your struggles, and you were always outcast from the intricate social circles they naturally fell into. Unfortunately, their lack of obvious distaste meant you felt like you always had to come up with a good excuse not to visit them, and, well, you were already waiting for transport, so that window was closing fast.
A cool breeze, signifying the arrival of the tram-bus to the station, blew through your hair as the vehicle slowed to a stop. The doors slid open, you threw your bag back over your shoulder and stepped inside, and as you'd expected, the front of the tram was pretty full. Busier than usual with the bustle of holiday travel, of course, but it was just as likely some were still just commuting to work. You make your way towards the back, which was always a bit less populated… you're not thrilled by what you see. An ex-boyfriend, heavily pregnant, is in the far corner of the very last row of seats. He - Javier - was clearly trying to hide himself away, on top of being obviously very uncomfortable. You still catch one another's eye - he seems about as miserable to be sharing this ride with you as you are him. Hurriedly, you avert your gaze, and sit yourself down in the second-to-last row seat on the side furthest from him. The empty gap of space between your seats does not feel like enough distance in the slightest, and you quickly realize you cannot get the sight of him out of your mind. You'd known he was pregnant, it was even the source of the breakup, but this was the first time in months that you'd seen him, and his figure seemed almost grotesque compared to the other pregnancies you'd witnessed. Desperate for a distraction, you take your phone out of your pocket, shoving in your earbuds as the tram jolts and starts moving. You swear you can hear a groan coming from his direction before your music begins.
You manage to mostly ignore him for almost an hour, but eventually, the questions piled up. Whether his figure had been exaggerated in your head or not, what exactly he was even doing while you were trying so hard to ignore him being there. Whether he was thinking about you like you couldn't stop yourself from thinking about him. His belly was still burnt into your head, massive and heavy. You had to see it again, just to confirm - you tilt your phone onto its side, open the camera app, and switch to the front-facing view before angling it just enough to let you see him in the corner. He was almost… Worse than your brief initial glance, as bunched up as he could manage and clinging to the horizontal seat in front of him for dear life.
It was, honestly, hard to look at. Looking away was harder, though, and your mind fixated on him, squinting at your phone's screen to try and make sense of what you were seeing. As the tram came to another stop, you found he was trembling, too, rather than the shakiness you'd just assumed was caused by the natural bumps of the ride. It began to sink in that you might have to actually do something about this. More questions begin to swim in your head - why was he alone here, anyway? Maybe you weren't the only one he cheated on, you thought bitterly. How long had it been? A few seasons had passed, at least.
The timeline you recalled put another thought in your head. You were sure it'd been well over nine months.
God damn it, he was probably in labor. Irritated, you roughly stuff your phone back in your pocket. This wasn't your responsibility. You didn't have to interact with it at all - but you couldn't just ignore it, either. That'd be even worse, surely? He was a lucky motherfucker for you to be the one who found him, the city was dangerous for people who were vulnerable. Reluctantly, you shift towards the aisle, then stand, grasping one of the support bars to keep yourself up as the tram once more jolts into movement - you're not the only one, you see Javier's body tense and curl in on itself in time with the vehicle you're in. You can hear his breathing as you approach - ragged and sharp, his exhales lined with tiny, hushed whines - and no matter how much you'd demonized the man in your head since the breakup, you couldn't deny that seeing him like this was sort of getting to you.
There was no way you were going to show that, though. Not after what he'd done. Your voice is gruff, accusative when you speak to him, intent on getting some kind of answer before you were willing to help.
"Where's the daddy?" You ask. "Shouldn't they be here for this?" Your ex barely reacts, aside from pressing himself tighter into the corner, which was apparently possible. The fingers on his free hand - the one not clenching the seat in front of him - are pressed tightly into the fabric concealing his overburdened belly.
You force your eyes away from it, trying again to get his attention. Frustration was already rising in you, joining the bundle of other negativity you held about your fractured relationship.
"Hey. Where is. Your partner?" The impatience in your voice was obvious, now. Finally, you got a response. Javier meets your glare with his own, sharp and defensive. He looks utterly trapped. "Go. Go away," he forces out, in between ragged breaths. You feel your anger shift - but your stubbornness forces your annoyance back to the forefront. "Believe it or not, I actually want to help you," you snapped, your voice raised, but not enough to alert the other passengers. You weren't expecting Javier to flinch the way he did. It wasn't really like him - the standoffish-ness was, sure, but you'd never really seen him cower before. Blinking, you take a step back, re-center yourself, and after a moment, you quietly sit down beside him, taking off your shoulder-bag to place it on an adjacent seat.
"Okay," you begin, "okay. I need you to talk to me. Will you talk to me?" There was nothing but a small grunt in reply, and even that took a few seconds. Fine. "Where is the other parent?" Your question, and the rest of your demeanor, shifted as you let yourself analyze his reaction - you were more concerned than accusative, now. Your ex's head remained buried into the crook of his sleeved arm, and more seconds passed, feeling long and drawn out. Again, his voice is ragged when he speaks. "Don't know. Not here." "Are you.. Still together?" It would definitely be weird to leave your laboring partner on a tram in this condition.
"N- no. Maybe. Don't know if we ever were."
Well, you're not really sure how to take that. Had you fucked up? Maybe if you'd not rushed into conclusions - you cut yourself off, realizing you were doing it again. Hesitantly, you follow up - "did you ever want to be?"
Javier gives no response, but you didn't really need one. The lack of an answer was an answer in itself - maybe rushing to conclusions this time had been accurate. Silently, your brain started to go a little haywire. You should have heard him out, but no. You hadn't, and look where it got you both.
Regardless, nothing could be done about it now. You gather your thoughts, again. "I am so sorry. You don't have to forgive me, but I am so sorry." More silence. His form, which had steadied a bit since you'd sat down, was shaking again. "It's. Not your fault." "We can figure that out later," you cut in, before he can blame himself. It works, he shuts up.
Both of you are quiet now, slowly getting used to each other's company again. It can only last so long, though, before you see his abdomen constrict. Tired breaths become uneven as he holds them in, attempting to combat the pain, before eventually escaping as soft, high-pitched whimpers - this goes on for a few seconds, until his body goes lax again. His face is still hidden against his arm, but you can tell how worn down he is, tears soaking his sleeve. This whole thing is an absolute nightmare for you both, you can't stand doing nothing anymore. "Hey. Can I touch you?" You're reluctant to even ask, afraid he'll say no. For a moment, his bewilderment seems to outweigh everything else - he shifts a bit to look back at you again, and you clarify, "not like that". All you get is a noncommittal grunt before he returns to burying his face into his sleeve. "No? Yes?" Again, you get nothing.
But, while his body is stiff and tense, he doesn't flinch away as you scoot closer to him. You decide to test his boundaries - your hands encircle the one he's holding to his belly, lightly gripping it between them - you get no sign of discomfort or reluctance, but still, that's as far as you'll go for a while.
The air around you is tense, but it does eventually soften, and you take it as an invitation when his fingers finally begin to clasp around the hand beneath his. Bringing yourself even closer to his side, you lightly rub the back of his hand with your thumb - he seems to be growing more comfortable in your presence, almost managing to appear relaxed for a time before the next contraction hits.
Immediately, his body stiffens again, accompanied by a small yelp as the pain catches him off guard. You carefully attempt to guide him towards you, separating him from the seat he's clinging to and wrapping his arms around your neck instead as he struggles to force himself through. There's no attempt to fight back, and it's not long before he's pressed into you instead of the plastic seat.
Even with the contraction pain, he seems calmer - your arm wraps around him as his belly softens, and his body again relaxes. All things considered, it's a pretty comfortable position.. right now, it was almost like you and him hadn't broken up to begin with. Suddenly, though, that "relationship" had a lot more weighing on it - the delayed reaction that told you your ex was in labor forced you to also put it together that labor and pregnancy meant that there were physically babies in him that needed to come out - and that you hadn't actually been paying attention to the pains. You had zero clue what stage of labor you were seeing. Maybe Javier had a better idea?
"Hey, uhh. Have you been.. Timing contractions or anything? Do you know what stage you're in?" "…No?"
So much for that. His head lifts away from your chest, wearing an expression laced with confusion. You get the impression by how quickly he hides himself again that he's generally clueless about the whole process.
"You at least know you're in labor?" "Yeah. I mean…" A pause, like he's thinking, but it doesn't go anywhere. "No offense. Do you.. have any idea what you're doing?" "I. tried to avoid the topic." The way he says it comes off like an admission of guilt. "Maybe if I ignored it long enough it - it'd go away."
"That turned out well." "Shut up. Besides. it wasn't human. The… Father. I. Know you were there when your siblings were born. But. What good will human tactics even do here?"
You sighed, once more fishing your phone out of your pocket. "I suppose that explains some things. Do you know what we're dealing with?" "I think I remember it talking about the river. It said its culture is that of pleasure. I'm inclined to disagree-" The statement is cut off by a pained grunt, almost on cue. You activate your phone's stopwatch as his stomach distorts.
This pain seems to be worse than the last ones. His whole body grows so tense he's once more reduced to trembling, his fingertips grasping the back of your shirt tightly and his head pressed hard into your chest. Like before, his breathing becomes limited, transforming into small, shrill whimpers that come out in between long, breathless pauses. Javier's weakened body limpens before the pain lets up, but only for a few seconds - he takes a few strained breaths before stiffening again. Is he bearing down? With the amount he's straining, he must be. Why even try to time contractions if he's this deep? You turn your focus entirely to him, putting your phone back away and pulling him closer to you as you slide your hand under his shirt. Sure enough, his abdomen was nearly rock-hard.
When it finally lets up, he seems to break. "Help me," he pleads softly, you can hear his panic rising as it hits him that this is just going to get worse. "Get it out. I can't - I can't. It's too big. It's. Pressing. But not moving." Disjointed sentences devolve back into soft whimpers, you gently run your hand along his side. "I don't think.. You're dilated enough to push yet? If you're only now bearing down." He responds with a distressed whine. "How - how long? I can't -" you can hear his crying through his trembling words, now - "can't do this. It should - it shouldn't be like this. Never wanted this. It's. It's."
He seems to run out of will to speak as the tram slows again. There's still a lot of stops between here and your destination - you have absolutely no idea how much time is left until things get serious, and it's very clear you didn't have anywhere near as much time as you thought you did. On top of that, you do not like the prospect of going through any of this in public for various reasons.
"Where are you trying to go, anyway?" "…Away." "Nowhere specific?" "Just.. away." ".. Right."
You look up from him, taking in the city around you through the window. You could see.. A pet supply shop, a bunch of unmarked buildings. Your phone tells you you're about thirteen miles from your booking. The area seems.. Safe enough to stop for a moment, and the pet shop probably had one of those family restrooms.
"We're getting off here," you announce, having made your decision. Javier barely responds as you re-equip your bag, but he does react as you try and help him up - you have to catch him as he nearly falls, and he clutches your arm to steady himself as much as he can. Being upright doesn't seem to be doing him any favors, but it would be best to get to your booking sooner rather than later if you could at all.
"Why are we getting up?" He protests, a shaky arm encircling his belly. "We're getting off. There's a pet store here that still looks open. I'm gonna call a taxi to get us to the cabin I booked this weekend, but first I wanna check progress- see if there's even time." None of that seems to register except "weekend" and "cabin". "I- Mph. Tomorrow.." "… is a holiday. I know." "Oh."
You shake his shoulders lightly as the guilty look reappears in his eye, you know he knew your holiday arrangements. "Hey. It's fine, and we gotta go." "Mm." He won't budge. "Trust me when I say this, Jav. I won't miss em, and they'll only miss me superficially. Don't feel guilty for making me miss something I don't care about." He grunts, but budges a little bit - it's enough to get a move on, and you half-carry him to the door of the bus-tram, helping him down the stairs onto the sidewalk.
You take a second to get your things together before proceeding, and then promptly stop Javier from completely crumpling to the pavement as another contraction hits. It's long enough that you have to briefly sit again to wait it out, but thankfully, it doesn't otherwise seem as intense as the last one. There's a desperation in his voice when he asks if this is really okay. You tell him it is.
Besides, this serves as a pretty good excuse. (TBC)

Inspiring Romance Pt. 7
Pairing: Yoongi x Plus-sized Reader
Word Count: 2.3k
Warnings: well- there's some bonding over trauma, mentions of dead parents- that's mostly it
Genre: this is actually really fluffy with a couple doses of angst
Summary: You spent years happily taking care of an old man who surprisingly leaves you a huge gift when he passes. To your surprise, this gift has brought his grandson to your doorstep. Unfortunately, his grandson is one frustratingly arrogant piece of work and now thanks to his grandfather you're stuck with him for three months. You're sure his grandfather rolling in his grave watching the two of you fight every day and as much as you'd like to get along with him for his grandad's sake- he just makes it so hard to like him that you think you'll strangle him before he leaves this place. There's simply no way this could be worse.
***
A knock on your bedroom door frame pulls your attention away from a book you've borrowed from Mr. Min's library. Yoongi leans against your door frame with his arms crossed.
"Need something?" You tilt your head at him.
"I have a kind of intrusive question for you." Yoongi says.
"Like- who would win in a fight versus a bear intrusive or delving into some sort of trauma intrusive?" You ask.
"Possibly the second one? I don't know for certain if it'll be traumatizing but- it's definitely not who would win in a fight with a bear but- who's fighting a bear?"
"I guess no one since that's not what you're asking about."
"I mean yeah but like- where did fighting a bear come from?"
"I mean sometimes you get like really random questions that pop into your head- I've had people ask me about fighting wild animals before- this is not what you came in here for though. Right?"
"Right."
"Okay so, ask your question." You place the book on your bedside table to give Yoongi your attention.
"You told me you were raised by humans that knew your actual parents so- have you like tried finding your birth parents?" Yoongi asks sitting on the edge of your bed.
"I've looked for them yeah. My bio parents are dead." You say.
"Oh- I'm so sorry." Yoongi frowns.
"I mean I never knew them. Sure it sucks that I like- can't learn about being a wolf from them or ever get to talk to them but my parents were okay at the parent thing and luckily I learned lots of the important stuff from your granddad." You shrug.
"Do you know what happened to them? If you don't mind me asking."
"I don't actually. I'm sure I could find out but- their cause of death really wouldn't make me feel any better about them being dead so I didn't dig too far." You shrug.
"That's- yeah that's fair."
"I'm not really a fan of what the internet calls trauma bonding but- your parents died when you were young too, yeah?" You muse. Yoongi chuckles a bit before answering,
"Yeah- I was like 8 when it happened." He says.
"I'm assuming you know what happened to them?"
"Nothing dramatic. It was a car accident."
"Was it hard? Like- I mean- I know I was sad when I learned of my parents' death but I didn't know them so I was mostly sad about the fact that I would never get that chance. I can't imagine how it would feel if I already knew them. Plus moving in with your granddad I mean- couldn't have been easy." You pull your legs towards you and rest your chin on your knees.
"Honestly moving in with my gramps was the easiest part. He was always part of my childhood even before my parents died so, moving in with him felt natural. The hard bit was just realizing that he was all I had left. Don't get me wrong he did the best he could raising me but- he wasn't my mom." Yoongi shrugs.
"And your aunt wasn't around you said once yeah?"
"Nah not really. Since our family doesn't belong to a larger pack I really only saw her and my cousins on mandatory family gathering holidays but- she couldn't be around me for years because I looked so much like her dead sister she said."
"Well- you do look a lot like your mom, even more so when you were a kid." You muse.
"How do you know that?" His brow furrows at your observation.
"Mr. Min has photos of you and your parents and your aunt and Lisa all over the place. His study, his room, the library. There's a few in the main hallway too, though those are mostly just of him and you and then him and your mom and aunt- have you never noticed?"
"I guess not, no. I don't often go into his study or room really." Yoongi mutters.
"Oh, he also liked to tell stories about the photo albums he kept. He had an impressive recall for the things he's got photographs of I mean- he's got holiday photos taken decades apart that he could recount as if both afternoons happened yesterday. It was remarkable honestly." You muse.
"Really? He told you stories about me?"
"You, Lisa, your mom and dad, your aunt. Especially in the last year he had so much he wanted to share. His favorite story was from a photo of you at your first soccer game."
"Oh God." Yoongi groans and you laugh as you continue the story.
"You sucked apparently, scored a goal in the opposing team's net but your grandfather used to tell that story and say he was the proudest parent on the field all afternoon because it was the first time you were genuinely interested in something after your parents died. He told that story in particular at least half a dozen times I think." You tell him.
"Wow- I had no idea he talked about me so much." He mutters.
"Not at first. You were kinda like a ghost." You chuckle.
"A ghost huh?" Yoongi laughs along with you.
"Just a tad." You put your fingers close together in front of your face, looking at him through the small gap with one eye. Yoongi throws his head back and lets out a loud laugh that brings a smile to your face. "This has been an- unusually heavy conversation for, three o'clock on a Wednesday afternoon." You muse.
"Yeah sorry about that- I was talking to a buddy of mine and he asked about you and I remembered I wanted to ask about your parents when you brought it up but the conversation went a different direction."
"A buddy of yours? Wow I didn't know you had friends. And why are they asking about me?" You frown. Yoongi rolls his eyes,
"First of all fuck you. I knew him as a kid and we lost touch for a while but we reconnected by chance on one of my travels. And he wasn't asking in a weird way just- we were catching up, he asked how I've been and I told him I was staying with my pop's caretaker so- he wanted to know what that was about."
"Oh you told him about the arrangement?"
"Not in detail, just that I was in town handling some things because my granddad died and you were staying at the house so we're just sharing the space is all."
"Handling some things- how diplomatic." You muse.
"Yeah well- we're friends but we aren't so close that I want him to know all the details of what goes on with my family." Yoongi says with a shrug.
"I guess that makes sense. Not every friend is close enough to know all your business. Sometimes you just chat and in your case travel." You nod.
"Do you travel at all?" Yoongi asks.
"Nowhere I haven't been able to just drive to." You shake your head.
"Where do you wanna go? If you could pick anywhere in the world. Where are you headed?"
"Greece. My first stop has to be Greece." You answer almost immediately.
"Athens is beautiful. I think you'd love it there."
"Maybe I'll go one day and I can let you know what I think." You shrug.
"You should go. I mean I'm sure you can afford it now- what with the money my gramps left you. Take a few days off and go."
"Oh- yeah you're right. I hadn't thought about it. I guess it's still settling that you know I have all this stuff because of him. I still don't understand where all this comes from. Your grandfather never really talked about his wealth."
"He owned a business. I know that's vague but since it's not something I ever had to worry about I don't remember really what he told me as far as what he did." Yoongi shrugs.
"Oh- you didn't take it over?" You frown.
"Nah the business went to my aunt before I was even born." Yoongi shakes his head.
"Any reason in particular why?"
"My mom wasn't nearly interested enough to run the business. And good thing too. Like- imagine pops hands off the business to my mom and both my parents die before I'm old enough to do anything with an entire company. Granddad's now stuck running the business he's already retired from."
"Guess that worked out well."
"Yep. Hey- look at us, finally becoming friends." Yoongi says laying back.
"And with just three weeks until we go our separate ways and maybe never speak again." You smirk. You're partially kidding, but you know it's very possible you and Yoongi won't stay in touch after this.
"Hey- you think I'm gonna take the money and you'll never see me again?" Yoongi quirks an eyebrow at you.
"Well- you weren't exactly dying to be around here when you had family in this house- certainly your granddad's old caretaker isn't enough to tie you to this place." You muse with a teasing smile.
"I wouldn't go so far as to say tie me to the place. I mean with all my traveling I barely see lots of my friends- but it's easy to keep in touch if I want to."
"Sounds like you actually like me." You poke his side.
"It seems like my pops wasn't so crazy to think we'd get on well. Turns out you're pretty cool." Yoongi shrugs.
"Oh please as if I was the one who had to prove I was cool." You scoff.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He laughs.
"If I remember correctly one of us had a really nasty attitude when we first met and it wasn't me."
"Yeah alright that's uh, that's pretty fair. But hey I'm not all angsty attitudes and angry dispositions."
"I've noticed. There's more than asshole to you. Who woulda thought."
"Hey! Do I give off one dimensional energy?"
"Well when for a month straight all you do is pick fights-" you trail off with laughter when Yoongi narrows his eyes at you and his mouth sets into a pout.
"Fuck off!" He grumbles though there's no real anger behind it.
"I've seen you actually angry you know, you can't fool me." You poke his cheek.
"Maybe declaring this as a friendship was a mistake." He says.
"Aw- now I know we're friends." You laugh boisterously.
"No- I change my mind. You're annoying."
"I could go back to not talking to you?" You suggest.
"Well you can't do that- It'll be maddening in silence."
"So quit complaining, loser."
"You this bossy with all your friends?"
"Only when I have to be which when it comes to you seems to be a lot of the time."
"Sounds like you just called me incompetent."
"Hear whatever you want darling." You shrug with a smile. Yoongi quirks an eyebrow at you but doesn't say anything. After a moment of pointedly staring at you, he makes himself comfortable on your bed by laying back and closing his eyes.
"Do you just plan to spend the rest of your afternoon laying in my bed?" You ask, tilting your head at him.
"If it's all the same to you, I think I will."
"You don't have anything better to do?" You ask curiously. You grab your book off of the night table and flip to the page you bookmarked upon Yoongi's entry.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say you don't want me here. Got something to hide from me lemon drop?"
"Lemon drop?" You blink at him over the top of your book. He opens one eye to look at you with a smug smile.
"Yes- lemon drop. You're not wearing earplugs now are you?"
"Of course not idiot I just- that's kinda random."
"Lemons are sour."
"Gee I had no idea."
"Let me finish you brat. You're sour too but like- the kind of sour that's not unbearable and it gets better over time. Like a sour patch kid. But lemon drop is a cuter nickname."
"Didn't realize we're at nickname status."
"I think we are. Do you disagree?"
"Give me a few days to come up with one for you and I'll get back to you on that." You tell him.
"Take your time." He tells you.
"This friendship is developing quite interestingly."
"You changed the subject on me lemon drop." Yoongi sits up to look at you.
"What are you talking about?" You frown putting your book down on your lap.
"I asked if you had something to hide from me."
"Nothing I don't hide from most people." You shrug.
"Hey we live together-"
"Oh come on we get along now but it's not like we're in this situation because we were best friends and thought it'd be fun. Why should I tell you all my secrets? Have you told me all of yours?" You muse.
"Fine. Have your secrets if you must."
"Not that I needed your permission but I will thank you very much." You say lifting your book back up to actually get back to reading now. Mr. Min had several books about werewolves from history, to medicine, to folklore, to biology and whatnot. Without him, you've been making greater use of the books to learn all you can, though you're surprised books like this exist.
"Do you really think we're not gonna speak again after I leave?" Yoongi asks after a long breath of silence.
"Do you really think we are?" You ask back.
"I mean- I think we can if we want to. Staying in touch isn't hard." Yoongi's noncommital answer makes you quirk an eyebrow at him.
"I think the question you really wanna ask me is if I want to speak after you leave then, yes?"
"It doesn't matter that much to me I'm just- curious, you know about how you think the friendship will go." He shrugs.
"I think the friendship will suffer greatly if you don't drop the cool guy act and get real." You scoff with a smile. "In all seriousness when you first got here I wanted you to drop dead at the doorstep but- I guess you've grown on me. I'm not too shy to admit that the quiet will certainly be weird to get used to. Although this house is so big sometimes I have no idea where you are anyhow."
"Yeah- I've gotten pretty used to having you around too." He says.
"Well in that case- maybe we will continue to speak after you've gone." You tell him.
"I'd like that."
"Hm, I think I would too." You decide with a nod. Yoongi allows that answer to end your conversation for now but he does spend the rest of the afternoon in your room, doing his own thing and enjoying being in your space. It's an interesting development really, you've never just spent time together silently but you realize maybe it wouldn't be so weird if this were normal.
