So ready to see battinson interact with his Superman. I just know that Robert Pattinson is going to put so much homoerotic subtext into those interactions.

I think the Batman (2022) sheds light on such an underrated detail of Batman's story, and that's, ironically, Batman himself. We see Bruce. As in actually, truly see him. the way he's so repulsed by himself when he's not Batman. The most apathetic we ever see him is towards himself. Bruce does not care If Bruce lives or dies because ultimately, he does not care for himself.

He's lonely and starves for people and contact but he doesn't want to be BRUCE. Even when he shares intimate moments, he's Batman, while everyone around him wants the man behind the cowl, because no one cares about an empty mask.

But the final scene? Where he's helping, saving, holding people tenderly? Where he doesn't wear the contacts? That's BRUCE.

Bruce who's tragedy with heartbeat, who has all the reasons to be a villain and leave Gotham for death and rot and he DOESN’T because at his core Bruce loves people so MUCH. Not Batman, not The Bat, not the Knight, -- it's BRUCE. BRUCE IS THE HEART. YOU CAN'T WRITE A GOOD BATMAN IF YOU DON'T WRITE A GOOD BRUCE WAYNE!

"batman is morally grey" HE'S LITERALLY THE SYMBOL OF HOPE IN GOTHAM AND THE LAST LINE OF DEFENSE AGAINST ALL THE CORRUPTION IN THE CITY.

If he's gone Gotham literally lost their hope and gets even worse.

The guy doesn't kill, he thinks guns are the cowards weapons, he supports rehabilitation of criminals (all in canon btw) he's not morally grey.

Btw love this scene from the movie because it's basically a visual metaphor of what batman is, THE LIGHT IN THE DARK GUIDING THE CITIZENS OF GOTHAM TO SAFETY.

"oh but he's a billionaire that can do more" AND HE DOES, he put so much of his money to help Gotham with multiple projects that he's literally a target of so many corrupt groups. He literally dismantle a criminal organization by giving actual jobs to the members of It. Every time something big destroys part of Gotham he gives money to help the people affected.

I like to think in any universe Bruce looks like his mum in his younger years and then more like his dad as he gets older.

So I finally saw The Batman yesterday and as much as I love the idea of himbo!Bruce Wayne (and I do love it lol), I absolutely LOVE the idea of Bruce Wayne never really becoming any more social adept. After he realizes he needs to be a symbol of hope rather than vengeance he starts using his family’s money to help the city the same way he does in other iterations of Batman- charities, donations, funding infrastructure and public programs. He starts doing a lot of good and making a very real impact and becomes beloved by the citizens of Gotham for it, but at no point does he ever become a more Socially Normal person. He still rarely leaves the manor. He’s soft spoken to the point of almost being inaudible half the time and avoids eye contact like the plague. You can visibly see him trying to desperately escape every social interaction he’s in.

It’s the perfect cover honestly. No one would ever think that Bruce Wayne of all people is Batman. I mean, have you met the man?? Yeah he has the money to theoretically be Batman, but Batman is tough and intimidating and powerful. Bruce Wayne has the vibes of a stray cat left out in the rain. The man can barely handle a five minute conversation without looking like he’s in physical pain, and you think he’s fighting dangerous criminals every night??? What, are you insane??? Bruce Wayne and Batman are both Beloved Gotham Cryptids, but there’s absolutely no way they’re the same person

And the best part is, it’s not even really a cover. He really is just Like That, and it just so happens to be the best cover he could have asked for

Along with my new favourite HC that Battison Bruce Wayne never develops a playboy persona and just continues to be Gotham's Most Socially Awkward Cryptid, I also want him to continue to slink through Gotham at dusk and dawn with his baggy clothes and grimy little motorcycle when he's beginning/ending his rounds as Batman. After a couple more years of being Batman he definitely gets spotted a few times, but everyone just collectively decides to never bring it up. By this point he's not just Gotham's Prince anymore- he's Gotham's beloved cryptid. He's started using his money and influence to fund infrastructure and public programs and has several major charities that are really doing some good work. Yeah he's maybe a little weird- okay a lot weird- and everyone agrees that he could probably use a decade or two of therapy, but he's helped make some of the first real changes the city has seen in a long time, and people appreciate that. So if someone sees him under the train tracks at 5am wearing four layers of too large clothes and looking like he just crawled through a storm drain? Well they're just going to mind their own business dammit. Bruce Wayne's a private man and they're going to respect that. If anything, they're just happy to see him getting out of Wayne Tower for a bit

Lemons.

Bruce shuffled into the sitting room, sunglasses on, wearing an old gray t-shirt and a pair of track pants. He saw Dick and Alfred at the table, chatting over pancakes.

“B!”

Bruce braced himself just in time for Dick to flip up onto his shoulders. He pulled Bruce’s hair and kicked his heels against his chest. “Go look at your chair.”

Stepping forward, Bruce glanced down at his chair and saw:

“What is this,” Bruce whispered.

Dick rolled off his shoulders and landed gracefully on the floor beside Bruce. His smile was blinding. “It’s a lemon!”

“Okay.” Bruce picked it up. It was soft, silky. He wanted to rub his face on it.

“I got him at the book fair,” Dick explained. “I thought you would like him!”

“Why is he a lemon.”

“Because,” Dick sighed, rolling his eyes, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade, Bruce.”

Bruce’s chest felt very full. He clutched the lemon tightly, lips twitching. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome!” Dick climbed up a nearby pillar and disappeared into the gothic architecture of Wayne Tower. Bruce watched him go, eyes prickling but not from the sunlight.

“He got me a lemon, Alfred.”

Alfred grinned. “He’s a sweet boy.”

Bruce sat down on the floor, then stretched out and rolled onto his stomach. He made himself very flat.

“Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Bruce?”

“He thought of me, Alfred.”
