I saw some posts complaining about aphobia/(ace-/aro-)exclusionism and while I luckily did not see any of such original posts, I do want to bring some more positive energy here by telling y’all that I came out as ace to 2 colleagues this year and we had a really great talk about it and one of them came out as demi as well so that was a really nice experience this year

F**K heteronormativism
In the process of recognising and accepting myself as queer I've realised how many opportunities I've denied myself just because of socially ingrained homophobia. I mean I've recently started painting my toenails just because I can, and want to continue dying my hair unnatural colours (it's currently bright red and I've previously dyed it blue and green, but am considering doing it purple next) because it helps me feel more positive about myself.
And the only reason I've not done this before is because when I identified as a straight man, I just thought 'that isn't for me'.

Because they are transphobic and can't live with the fact that the status quo is changing. People are afraid of changes and don't have the moral fortitude to move their asses towards progressive changes, because it involves a change in mindset, which really isnt a big deal, but to them, it means everything. You see how they turn every conversation about human rights into a conversation about politics? It's an idiotic statement, because not only are you showing how sleezy and complacent you are to real life issues, but you're also shown to be isolated from reality and fostered into an attitude of extreme heteronormativism.
One thing I believe is fundamental is that these transphobes have a perception of Japan as being culturally relativistic with Japanese people having an extremely conservative mindset. It comes as a contradiction, because transphobes refuse to believe that "western" progressive language can be translated in a Japanese environment, so when western localisations confirm that a certain Japanese media have lgbtq rights in it, transphobes will always assume that this is a typical case of western pc and not just... something that also exist in various cultures and traditions-- this is where transphobia starts overlaping with racism. Being transphobic becomes inherently racist, because trans people aren't a western "invention" or "phenomenon", trans people/Khawaja sira exists in so many different cultures and have been there since time immemorial, so these transphobes make the assumption that trans rights are a western concept and fail to understand that trans people have existed in various cultures for... like... ever. In fact, most of these cultures addressed trans rights before most western nations could ever, take for example, the Indian subcontinent.

Dieser Kommentar macht mich wirklich wütend. Mal abgesehen davon, dass es keinen offen schwulen bzw. queeren Ermittler beim Tatort gibt, (abgesehen von Vincent Ross. Das ist aber Polizeiruf und außerdem wurde sich zu seiner Sexualität, meines Wissens nach, noch nicht geäußert. Falls das falsch ist korrigiert mich bitte, ich bin nicht auf dem neusten Stand.) frage ich mich, was das eigentlich für eine Aussage ist. Alle interessanten (fiktionalen) Männer sind schwul oder werden schwul gemacht? So als wäre das deutsche Fernsehen nicht super heteronormativ. bi frauen in einer beziehung mit einen mann und bi männer in einer beziehung mit einer frau sind übrigens nicht in einer "hetero" oder "heteronormativen" beziehung. wenn eine person queer ist, fällt heteronormativität weg. spicy bi erasure ist immer noch bi erasure.
das gleiche gilt für aro und ace personen.
heteronormativität schließt bi, ace und aro personen von grund auf aus.
leute einfach hetero zu nennen oder auf eine stufe mit nicht queerenter heteros zu setzen wird nicht dadurch besser, wenn du "normativ" dranklatscht.
heteronormativität ist auch hetero (bitte als allo-version) als default, da fallen bi, aro und ace personen raus, egal mit wem sie in einer beziehung sind.
und beziehungen fallen schon dadurch aus der heteronorm, wenn mindestens eine person in irgendeiner art und weise queer ist, heißt eine beziehung die eine bi, ace oder aro person führt ist automatisch nicht heteronormativ.
es ist viel heteronormativer, bi, ace und aro personen bei erster gelegenheit hetero-irgendwas zu nennen, als queere männer in beziehungen mit queeren frauen.
leute (meistens allo cis gays) glauben echt, sie sind jetzt mega inklusiv weil sie heteronormativ statt hetero zu sagen, obwohl das letztendlich keinen unterschied macht und bestimmte beziehungen mal wieder als "nicht richtig queer" abstempelt.
wenn du generell beziehungen zwischen männern und frauen meinst, dann sag halt "beziehungen zwischen männern uns frauen", statt dem ganzen ein label aufzudrücken.
wenn du speziell nichtqueere beziehungen meinst, dann sag doch einfach das. nein, "hetero" klappt nicht, weil es queere heteros gibt, wie trans, intersex und einige aro und ace personen.
an dieser casual bi- und aspec-feindlichkeit ist nix progressiv oder inklusiv.
heteronormativität schließt aces, aros und trans hetero personen übrigens auch aus, weil alle diese identitäten dafür sorgen, dass diese personen als "nicht hetero genug" und/oder "zu gay" eingestuft werden, selbst wenn sie tatsächlich hetero sind.
deshalb haben trans, ace und aro heteros auch keinen zugang zu hetero privilegien.
aber ich glaub die deutsche queere bubble ist noch nicht bereit dafür. 😂
zu sagen dass queere personen in m/w beziehungen "heteronormativ" sind ist so ungefähr wie cis-passing binäre trans personen die alle OPs hatten als cisnormativ zu bezeichnen. dabei sind sie trotzdem nicht cis und fallen aus der cisnormativität. aber allo cis gays wissen halt eher wenig über die erfahrungen von trans, bi, ace und aro personen innerhalb und außerhalb von beziehungen und tun nur so als hätten die ahnung.
nur weil etwas so ähnlich aussieht wie die norm ist es nicht gleich die norm.

Zensur und Marginalisierung
Weil ich gerade wütend bin und nicht weiter weiß.
Mein Insta-Account ist gerade gesperrt, Zeit für einen kleinen Meta-Text!
(Dun dun! 🎉 Pun absolutely and fully intended.)
Mein Insta-Account @callmebendix wurde innerhalb weniger Stunden zweimal gesperrt und ist im Moment nicht erreichbar.
Ich zeige auf dem Account vor allem meine erotische Kunst, schreibe aber auch Texte zu diversen Sex- und Sexwork-bezogenen Themen und mache immer mal wieder Q&As, bei denen Leute mir Fragen zu meiner Arbeit stellen können.
Ich habe super viel Zeit und Arbeit in den Account gesteckt, habe dort eine kleine Followerschaft und bin auch mit einigen Leuten in wichtigem Kontakt. Man könnte sagen: Ich hab dort eine kleine örtliche Community.
Ich habe meinen Account sehr hübsch durchkuratiert, mit vor allem schwarz-weißen Zeichnungen und zwischendurch roten Info-Posts, z.B. Rückblicke zum vergangenen Jahr, Vorstellungsrunden etc.
Der Account ist eine Augenweide, jawohl!
Ich bin inzwischen sehr vorsichtig, ich zensiere schon länger Wörter, die im Verdacht stehen, Accountschließungen zu triggern (hallo S€xwork, Prost1tut1on, P0rn - tschüss Le$b4rke1t!). Ich warne bei bestimmten Themen mit Content Notes vor und zensiere den ersten Slide, falls ich eine sehr explizite Zeichnung poste. Ich färbe meine Fotos ein und vermeide damit größere Flächen in Hautfarben. Ich zeige keine Fotos mit zu viel Nacktheit und definitiv keine mit Genitalien. Ich halte mich aus vielen feindseligen Diskussionen zu Sexarbeit raus, um Sexarbeitsgegner*innen nicht auf meinen Account aufmerksam zu machen.
Ich habe mich also schon stark zusammengerissen und - ehrlich betrachtet - die Politik meines Accounts runtergekocht.
Bringt alles nichts - der Account ist jetzt gesperrt und ich hab keine Ahnung wie lange. Leider bin ich auch kein Riesenaccount und hab keine 30.000 Follower, die jetzt alle auf die Barrikaden gehen und Magazine, die über mich schreiben etc.
Ich hab tolle Follower! ❤️ an euch! Und die gehen auch auf die Barrikaden! Noch mehr ❤️ an euch! Aber ich bin halt doch ein eher kleiner Account mit nicht besonders viel Reichweite.
Allerdings - scheiß auf die Reichweite - bin ich ein queer-feministischer, trans* und behinderter Sexarbeiter mit einem Account für queer-feministische und körperpositive Sexarbeit. Meine Kund*innen sind vor allem queer und trans* und nicht-binär und behindert und Frauen und bi und schwul… Und nahezu alle, ja: ALLE meine Kund*innen erreichen mich entweder über Twitter oder über Instagram. Tja.
Und da geht es los mit den strukturellen Problemen.
Ich passe (gehe sichtbar durch) weder als männlich noch als weiblich, ich bin trans*.
Die allermeisten Escort-Plattformen, auf denen Leute ihre Dienste anbieten und von Kund*innen gefunden werden können, haben für mich keine Kategorie.
Ich kann mich unter “Frauen” listen lassen, dann fliege ich meistens sowieso wieder raus. Ich kann mich unter “Männer” listen lassen, dort bin ich dann einer der wenigen tatsächlich arbeitenden Escorts unter sehr vielen cis Männern, die sich einfach aus Bock und auf der Suche nach Sex for free dort anmelden. Manchmal gibt es eine Extrakategorie “trans”, dort sind aber eigentlich fast nur Frauen, dort gehe ich also auch unter.
Auch haben die meisten Escort-Seiten noch nie was davon gehört, dass nicht nur cis Männer Sexarbeitende buchen wollen. D.h. die Seiten sind absolut, absolut heteronormativ und bieten keine Möglichkeit, gut nach queeren Escorts suchen zu können. Das betrifft übrigens nicht nur mich, sondern auch Personen, die nach außen als cis weibliche Escorts arbeiten, aber gerne nicht nur für cis Männer arbeiten würden, oder selbst eigentlich trans*/nicht-binär sind, nur dass die Seite das nicht erfassen kann.
Kund*innen, die Menschen wie mich suchen, die explizit queere oder queer-feministische Sexarbeit suchen oder z.B. körperpositive Sexarbeit, die aber nicht Sexualbegleitung ist, werden also auf den gängigen Seiten nicht fündig. Sie müssen anders suchen, über Suchmaschinen, persönliche Empfehlungen und - tadaa - über Social Media.
Und klar, ich mag Mastodon und so auch lieber als Twitter - aber ich habe dort einfach überhaupt nicht die Reichweite wie auf den großen, kommerziellen Plattformen.
Das ist ein Problem, dass nicht nur mich als Sexarbeiter betrifft, sondern sehr viele marginalisierte Selbständige. Die Gesellschaft, in der ich und andere marginalisierte Menschen versuchen, über die Runden zu kommen, ist diskriminierend, und das merken wir auch daran, wo marginalisierte oder “Nischen”-Unternehmen überhaupt gefunden werden können. In welchen größeren Shops werden Arbeiten oder Dienste marginalisierter Menschen angeboten? Welche großen Magazine featuren Personen und ihre Dienste, die nicht in die Norm passen? Ich kann bzw. konnte meine Zeichnungen auf Instagram auch deshalb ganz gut verkaufen, weil Instagram einen alternativen Kunstmarkt bietet, der sich von dem elitären Ausschlussgehabe des etablierten Kunstmarktes und seinen Kund*innen unterscheidet.
Leider beißt sich diese Offenheit der großen Plattformen sowohl mit dem momentanen Moral Panic Backlash als auch mit den wichtigen kritischen Antworten auf konservative Plattformpolitiken.
Musk-Twitter ist widerlich. Instagram mit seiner prüden Sexpolitik ist widerlich. Ich kann alle verstehen, die von dort weggehen, die Plattformen kritisieren und boykottieren und auf kleinere nicht-kommerzielle Bereiche wechseln. Aber damit verlieren leider auch diejenigen eine Plattform und Reichweite, für die Twitter und Instagram eben diese alternativen Märkte waren, wo wir überhaupt erst eine Kund*innenschaft aufbauen konnten.
Twitter erscheint neuerdings nicht mehr oder nicht mehr viel in der Google-Suche, das ist an sich toll, weil es der Plattform massiv Relevanz entzieht, hähä! Gleichzeitig werden aber auch die ganzen kleinen Profile bei thematisch gerichteten Google-Suchen nicht mehr gefunden.
Leute haben Personen mit blauem Siegel auf Twitter chain-geblockt, ebenfalls sehr verständlich, weil sich dort die Rechten tummeln. Allerdings haben auch viele Sexarbeitende sich das blaue Dings geholt, um überhaupt noch sichtbar zu sein, während alle möglichen sexuellen Inhalte auf mysteriöse Weise nicht mehr gefunden werden können und Sexarbeitende immer wieder geshadowbanned sind, obwohl es die Praxis auf Twitter angeblich nicht mehr gibt.
Die Situation ist für uns einfach wirklich verzwickt.
Kleine marginalisierte Unternehmen sind in einem sie diskriminierenden kapitalistischen System auf paradoxe Weise auf die großen Plattformen angewiesen, so scheiße ich das finde. Ich habe mit der Sperrung meines Instagram-Accounts den Zugang zu meiner Zielgruppe und einen Großteil meiner Kund*innen verloren. Ich kann gleichzeitig nicht einfach so mehr Werbung in mein Escort-Profil auf der Seite xy stecken, weil es diese Möglichkeit für mich als trans*queere Person einfach nicht gibt.
Sexarbeit und Kunst sind die beiden Arbeiten, die ich aufgrund meiner Gesundheit noch in einem für mich angenehmen Maß machen kann. Mit dem momentanen Backlash gegen sexpositive Inhalte verliere ich nicht nur mal eben einen Account, sondern ich verliere nahezu meinen kompletten Job.
Die Meta-Arbeit, die ich inzwischen in meine eigentliche Arbeit stecken muss, um (vermeintlich) sicher vor Zensur zu sein, um mich vor Meldungen von Sexarbeitsgegner*innen oder trans*-Feind*innen zu schützen, um auf möglichst verschiedenen Plattformen sichtbar zu sein - sie ist eigentlich schon viel zu viel für eben diesen Gesundheitszustand, mit dem ich eigentlich mal zur Sexarbeit gekommen war.
In den letzten Monaten und Jahren hab ich so viele Accounts neu gemacht, neue Mailadressen gemacht, neue Linklisten gemacht, irgendwo nachgehakt, warum ich nicht mehr auffindbar bin, fragwürdige Inhalte gelöscht, Bilder zensiert… das ist ein Job neben dem Job. Und ich kann mir das eigentlich nicht leisten.
Moral Panic und Zensur von Sexarbeitenden und anderen marginalisierten Personen schützt uns nicht, sondern gefährdet massiv unser Einkommen und damit unsere Existenz. Und es geht vor allem und zuerst gegen diejenigen, die am wenigsten Reichweite haben, die am wenigsten geschützt sind und die auch am wenigsten Chancen haben, einfach so woanders weiter zu machen.
Dabei kommt von uns wertvolles Wissen, nämlich das, was aus marginalisierten Communities entstanden ist und was wir uns eben nicht überall und total einfach aneignen können.
Moral Panic ist Backlash, ist sexfeindlich und in sich absolut konservativ und rechts. Sie radiert marginalisierte Existenzen und ihr Wissen aus und ist der Erhalt eines menschenfeindlichen Systems.
Weil ich gerade wütend bin und nicht weiter weiß.

Queer oppression
A thought has occurred to me, what with all this queer division stuff (as in how TERFs and other divisionists are increasingly pushing this idea of “LGB without the T”). I mean you really think that transphobes and the right wing extremists you’re allying with are going to be willing to make a distinction between Trans and other Queer people?
The Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw (and I daresay others) had both Catholic and Protestant Churches. The reason why was that Nazi law classified anyone with Jewish ancestry in the previous 3 generations of their family as Jewish (and therefore liable to be deported to an extermination camp). Under the Apartheid system in South Africa there was a category of “Not Obviously White” (NOW), that is to say people with dark skin who were classified as ‘White’ because of their parentage (usually they had ‘white’ parents but a Black great-grandparent). Hell, even straight people caring for AIDS victims in the 1980s were disowned by their families and treated as being ‘tainted’ because of the fact they had contact with “the gays”.
Attacking trans people is the start. Just because you’re willing to throw trans people under the bus now doesn’t mean they’re going to spare you later once they’ve started removing anyone who doesn’t conform to heteronormativism.

Does anyone else think stranger things is a metaphor for being different/gay? The show centers around a gay boy and a socially disconnected girl, they are both the opposite of what people "needed" to be at the time.

In season one we see Will disappear. This is when he was eleven at was probably realising the fact he likes boys, more specifically his best friend, him getting lost in the upside-down was him loosing himself and in turn the people around him loosing him too. Eleven hadn't known how different she was until she met the party-not really fully grasping this until later-but she uses her difference to find Will. Because she didn't realise how other she was she didn't realise how other Will was either allowing her to help him (find part of himself again).
Season 2 is honestly the biggest metaphor for being gay I've seen in the show. We have the shadow monster (Wills internalised homophobia) he trys to fight it but it doesn't work and instead he ends up possessed (depressed and disconnected). The leak/opened gate represents Wills homosexualty. When this starts to effect him (coughing up dart) he trys to hide it and pretend everythings "normal" again. It's a physical presence that Will and the others can see and interact with and ,most importantly, judge him for because he brought dart here despite that being out of his control. Eventually this becomes to much for Will and he needs help, Joyce is the one who's the most determined to get the shadow monster (self hatered/homophobia) out of Will. But the thing that stuck out to me the most is "zombie boy", he's being bullied for something that he can't control, didn't ask for, trys to hide, is seen as scary and could potentially spread(the zombie virus) sounds familiar to a certain disease that was picking up traction and that time and was blamed on gay men, aids.
In season 3 we have a bit less to work with (Will wise I mean) but it leads in well to season 4s metaphor! Season 3 shows us every else getting into relationships, even his mum has something going on with hopper, but Will doesn't. He's once again the odd one out. The main problem comes from the monster of the season, the meat mindflayer, aka the physical embodiment of pupity. We see in this season the more physical reaction Will has to his crush Mike, we see him physically trying get close to him, blushing for no apparent reason, stealing glances at him ect... This is also when we get one of my favourite scenes! Will is in the mall with his friends looking for a gift for El when they come across an underwear shop and Will is visibly starteld looking at the (slightly raunchy) dressed female mannequins. For what I'm about to say next we need background and context so just stick with me! We know Lonnie tried to force Will to like something he didn't like-baseball-we also know Lonnie referred to Will as a queer and a fag, baseball may have been an attempt to "man up" Will. Baseball is heteronormativeity. Jonathan instead tells Will he should like what he likes because he likes it and not because he's told he's supposed to, it's also established Jon helped Will build castle byers. Castle byers represents freedom to be who he is and and like what he likes, it's the only truly safe place he has. After the byler fight and the Infamous "its not my fault you don't like girls!" Line Will destroys castle byers with the baseball bat Lonnie gave him while repeating the word 'stupid'. Will see his feelings for Mike and men as stupid and uses heteronormativeity to destroy his self comfort, an attempt to repres who he is. After the byers move both Will and Mike pull away from eachother. Will also leaves his DnD set, the physical representation of the young love he had for Mike, and him and Mike have a rather flirty extange.
I'm planning to write about season 4 separately as there's no way we can talk about gay metaphors in this season with talking about Mike and El too!
