October Halloween Movie Fest Day 28:
Tonight I watched The Fly, an old favorite! …and badly misjudged how much time I had, and will be finishing it and Simpsons tomorrow. No worries. This movie is what made me realize how much I enjoy body horror, even if this leans hard into the gross end of things. We all know Jeff Goldblum doesn’t have the most range, but this is one role that was really well suited for him. And it’s my second Geena Davis movie of the month! I feel like I should have kept some sort of actor tally, but oh well. Also, I kind of forgot how incredibly stalkerish the ex-boyfriend is. Ah, the 80s. Not to mention the lax scientific standards and so forth, but whatever, still a classic. The effects aren’t as good as The Thing, but they’re still up there, and I haven’t even gotten to the full Cronenberg yet.
I have surely used this gif before, but really there is no other way to illustrate this movie in Simpson gif form.
I’ll be editing in THOH 28 and any final thoughts about the rest of the movie tomorrow. …and I might need to make a Rick and Morty gif or two to properly go with the movie.
ETA final thoughts: It does bother me that the stalker ex turned around and was the solid helpful protective dude by the end. I hope she never forgets that he let himself into her apartment and begged her for sex when she made her refusal clear, and I also hope she gets him the help he needs at the end and then hopes the fuck out of there and gets an abortion and works on herself for a while and maybe someday ends up with somebody who isn’t manipulative, stalker-y, and in a position of power over her or clingy, jealous, and dependent on her. These flaws are what make the plot happen, but the movie’s also kind of a poster child for “here’s why we do science in labs with oversight and assistance and multiple scientists and sterile conditions, and not in our apartments where we might do reckless experiments on ourselves while drunk and jealous.”
Treehouse of Horror 28 (The Excor-sis/Coralisa/Mmm… Homer): …this is the creepiest a THOH has been for a while, and that’s mostly because Mmm… Homer really squicks me out. The Excor-sis has some good creepy vibes, and it’s another rare Maggie vehicle—with bonus that she is actually driving the plot! Coralisa isn’t very creepy, but is otherwise a fantastic parody with great designs and art, and taking the story to its logical conclusion with Simpsons in the roles. Neil Gaiman is one of my very favorite “as themselves” guest star ever from The Book Job, and he’s amazing as Snowball II and a perfect casting gag. Mmm… Homer just squicks me out. I think it’s good they played it as silly as they did, or else it would be downright horrifying, and it’s still pretty gross as-is. Like geez, when was the last time they bothered with a warning? Since this is a Halloween show though, that just gets it extra points. My list is now 1, 5, 4, 7, 6, 3, 2, 20, 9, 8, 28, 17, 27, 23, 16, 15, 25, 26, 19, 13, 24, 21, 12, 14, 10, 18, 22, 11.

The Start of (official) Spooky Season
Hello my wonderful ghosts & ghouls,
It is officially Spooky Season.
(Though if you’ve been here a while, you’ll know that I firmly believe spooky is a way of life - not just a season.)
But I can’t deny that there is something special about the beginning of fall.
Here in Texas the weather has been beautiful and much cooler than we are used to seeing this time of year. (Probably thx to Global Warming - the scariest horror movie of them all amirite???)
But oh boy, this time of year is simply the very best.
Horror movie marathons on cable channels like Sy-Fy & AMC go all day long.
Every store is scrambling to restock their Halloween sections.
My TikTok FYP is full of people sharing the best scary movies they’ve watched recently.
Haunted houses and fright festivals happening left and right.
Speaking of Fright Festivals, let me tell y’all how I started off my October.
So near the end of September, my partner and I went on a little vacay to San Antonio. And as always, we went to Six Flags Over Texas on our first day there.
Lucky us, it was the first night of its Fright Fest.
So after a day of riding rollercoasters, we got to experience all the scares we could imagine. From haunted houses to riding rollercoasters in the dark, it was AMAZINGGGGG.

I spent this past weekend doing Halloween crafts, including painting a spooky little witch and her spooky little house.

Now I’m watching Friday The 13th, Part 2 and planning out an acrylic painting of GhostFace.
I am embracing the hell out of this October bc the world needs artificial scares for fun now more than ever.

haunted house with quinn
49. “If you get scared, don’t come crying to me.”
October was the best part of the year in your opinion. Autumn was amazing but it was only around Halloween that certain activities were available. Last year you and Quinn went to a corn maze, bobbed for apples, and even went to a fright fest. You had to leave the last one early because as much as you enjoyed the spooky atmosphere you might have been a little too frightened to finish it.
Earlier in the month you had gone to a pumpkin patch and picked apples and you had even gotten Quinn to wear matching costumes with you.
It had taken you months to figure out how you could possibly top last year's fun and when you finally thought you had found it you brought the idea to your boyfriend.
“You want to do a haunted house?” Quinn looked at you quizzically.
You pushed your phone into his space a bit more as if he couldn’t see the information clearly enough.
“Yeah, it’ll be tons of fun.” You said, excitedly. “Afterwards they have a scary movie marathon starting with Child’s play and ending with Nightmare on Elm’s street. They even have another corn maze that we can do if we go early enough.”
“It took us forever to get through the one last year.”
“Yeah, but this one has people in costume chasing you through it,” you pointed to the screen and finally he took your phone to scroll through the website you had up.
“Don’t you think this might be too scary for you?” He asked as he handed the phone back to you.
You frowned at him and crossed your arms over your chest.
“I’m a big girl, Quinny, I can handle it.”
He only raised one of his dark eyebrows at you and said, “I’ll go but if you get scared don’t come crying to me.”
A large smile split across your face as you jumped in excitement. You kissed his cheek and when you pulled back you nodded your head enthusiastically, “Deal!”

You had made it through the corn maze successfully, beating last year's time by two minutes. Quinn claimed it was the man dressed as an evil clown chasing them but that didn’t matter to you because you still beat your personal record.
You were practically bouncing as the two of you waited in line for your turn to enter the haunted house. Lights were strobing and loud scary noises were playing and it only made you more excited. You didn’t miss the exasperated but fond looks Quinn was giving you and when it was finally your turn to enter you grabbed his hand and tugged him behind you.
You refused to admit that Quinn was right. You lasted all of two minutes before you were too scared and were let out of a side entrance. The people working there were understanding and despite Quinn’s claim that you couldn’t come crying to him, you were wrapped up in his arms as tears fell down your face and you got your breathing to even out.
“I really thought I could do it this year,” you mumbled into his chest.
Quinn ran his hand through your hair and sun circles into your back as you shook.
“Maybe we can go home and watch Halloweentown or something. That always puts you in a good mood.”
You perked up at the mention of one of your favorite childhood Halloween movies. Pulling away slightly to look up into your boyfriend's eyes you smiled slightly. “We could even have hot chocolate?”
“Of course,” he said simply as he wiped the remaining tears from your face.
It wasn’t until the two of you were back in his car that you finally said what you had been thinking about since exiting the haunted house.
“Maybe next year will be the year that I finally make it through that place.”
Quinn looked at you in surprise before finally shaking his head and chuckling. “I don’t know what I’m going to do with you.”

Now for Prompt Examples + Explanations
I’ve had people ask for prompt examples in past events I’ve hosted and this event is open to any language, so here you go! These are the quick brainstorming notes (now expanded with links & definitions) I took while narrowing down the list to be sure the final prompts were unique enough / without toooo much overlap, and covered enough areas. Only some of maaaany interpretations—go wild!
Your host is a fic-writer with ADHD, so…you’ve been warned.
Day 1:
Pumpkin Spice: Cozy Autumn vibes. Putting up Halloween decorations, carving Jack-o-lanterns, coffee / tea shop, pumpkin patch, scented candles, baking, fall sangria, sweaters and beanies and flannels, momijigari (Autumn Hanami 🌸, basically) / admiring gorgeous fall foliage, fresh hot apple cider in an orchard. Itoshi Bros and their love of turtle/mock-neck sweaters. Pumpkin Farmer Aiku and Karasu scarecrow!
Do you believe in magic?: Revealing their magical powers for the first time. Crystal ball, tarot. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc. AU. Non-literal magic in relationships (feeling understood, chemistry, humor matching up perfectly, etc). Wands, spells, magical objects, magical creatures, etc.. Making a wish. Alexis "The Magician" Ness.

Day 2:
Masks: Costumes, super heroes, putting up a front, acting like something you’re not, classic masked Halloween meet-cute, secret / concealed identities, spies, ninja and samurai and assassins (Karasu and Otoyaaa!) Niko hiding his eyes / face.
Heartbeat: Racing heart from excitement, fright, romance, spice. No heartbeat like undead, zombie or vampire, etc.. Skip a beat, beat faster, beat slower (calm and comfort). Chigiri on the run from zombies, zombie Lorenzo!

Day 3:
Things that go bump in the night: unexplained (scary or otherwise) noises in the night, whispers or voices, ghosts and other supernatural entities, haunted house / place, anything scary, …spicy. Spooky Owl outside Rin’s window.
Festival: String lights illuminating festival stalls, costumes, traditional attire (Aryu looking stylish!), food and drink, games, Isagi devouring fried fair food. Fall Music festival. Mid-Autumn Festival (with all the pretty lanterns and mooncakes 🥮), Harvest / Fall Fests in general. Bobbing for apples, caramel / candy apples, carnival rides and games, Ferris wheel. Oktoberfest; Kaiser and/or any Bastard München player in Lederhosen—please, I’m begging!! Fun house / haunted house. Day of the Dead festivities.

Day 4:
Firelight: Cauldrons, brewing potions. Candles, rituals, bonfires. Autumn camping trip, s’mores, spooky firelight shadows outside the tent, got lost on a hiking trip & have to make a fire to keep warm! Torches, candles, lanterns lighting the way in a definitely not-haunted place. Hell, your favorite circle (Dante’s Inferno) 😈
Dark Waters: merpeople, sirens, sea monsters, kraken, pirates (Kurona and Raichi, Bachira 🐬!), sharks, shipwreck, ghost ships, stranded on a deserted island, haunted lakes, lake spirits, Autumn fishing trip, swamp monsters, bogs and marshes, willowisps, alligators, snakes. Loch Ness Monster
(Fire and water, light and dark)

Day 5:
Paranoia: Fear and suspicion, feeling like someone’s watching and you just can’t shake it (...Ego and his cameras), feeling like you’re losing your mind, etc.. Doesn’t have to be all bad! Maybe there was a misunderstanding before a fun surprise.
The Witching hour: Wiki / dictionary. Depending on whom you ask, the hour is either midnight or 3am - 4am. Supernatural entities / practitioners of dark arts are the most active and powerful. These entities might feel compelled / drawn out into the world. Magic and danger, inexplicable happenings! Humans ought to be at home and safely tucked in bed at this late hour, or else... Fun fact, the Orionid meteor shower peaks juuust before this event starts (in my hemisphere, at least) but continue until November, and the best time to view meteor showers is generally around the witching hour (after midnight / 3-4am). Can also mean the time in which people get up to no good or questionable stuff.

Day 6:
Monster’s Ball: Monsters, creatures. Bachiraaa. Halloween party, masquerade, nightlife (going out in costume—or not—to bars and clubs). Reo buying a round. Literal ⚽ ball (Lil Isagi trick-or-treating in Noa’s kit), Halloween Practice (like in high school or college when your coach let you have a fun practice in costume before a holiday—absolute chaos and so fun!). Whatever chaos and debauchery y’all can imagine. Just follow the event guidelines and tag accordingly! Green eyed monster (jealousy), Cinderella’s Ball (Sae and Shidou!)
Hunter’s Moon: The date of the actual full Hunter’s Moon—lucky us! Sometimes called the Blood Moon. Full moon, werewolves, moonlight, on the hunt or being hunted, spells and rituals, Tsukimi / moon viewing + Tsukimi dango 🎑, moon myths and gods. Celestial things, Kurona and Isagi planetary hotline / astronauts, aliens.

Day 7:
Angels and Demons: Demon and priest, hell, listening to the angel or the devil on your shoulder (making a questionable decision because it’s tempting), devilish fun or spells, sin, temptation, a deal with the devil. Ohhh, Sae and Shidou, your night has come! 😈
Castle: fairytales, knights, vampires, dungeons, Royalty (King Barou, Emperor Kaiser!). Also super Sae and Shidou.

Day 8:
Spirit: ghosts, haunted houses, GhostBusters, spirit entities like yokai, Ghost Adventures. Gagamaru as a friendly Yokai! Shaman. Possession, possessed or cursed objects. JJK. Ouija board game! Monk Igaguri.
Movie Night: Watching a scary (or not scary) movie, series, anime, etc. So many movie/show Alternate Universes. Sendou living his Hollywood dreams. Barbie please!!! Nagi nodding off halfway through. The guys as a character from their favorite movie listed in the Egoist Bible.
Mischief Night: Wiki page. The night before Halloween for hijinks, pranks, scaring each other! Toilet papering Ego’s house. Can be more sinister, too.

Day 9: Halloween!
Sweet tooth / sucker: Trick-or-Treating, candy corn, so much candy, caramel corn, vampires or anything with fangs, bite, ‘sucker’ like 🍭 or vampires, or…
Free day / AU (alternate universe) Palooza!:
Whatever Halloween stuff you want that doesn’t quite fit a prompt! Just listing some of the things I would draw (if I could) or write (if i had time):
Video game au for Hiori! Pokemon! Ego as a gangly cowboy, ⚽️ bolo tie and all. Barou as the "Cowardly" Lion in the Wizard of Oz. And finally, artists, if you're reading this, please, please consider Noel Noa (of the 🇫🇷 French National 🥖 Team!!) dressed as Bonjour Man from Life Lessons with Uramichi Onii-san (clip, manga cap). Please Omg. This image has literally been haunting me since starting this event and the manga/anime (even the dub!) is soooo funny. And technically, Bonjour Man is a cursed spirit sooo 👻

Halloween Party... or a cat nap (Fox Mulder X Reader)
Another fic for the Muldermuse October Writing Fest!
This started as something v different and finished as something dumb...i just <3333 cat dad Mulder- my heart is full
if u have fox mulder ideas send em through my lovesss <3
OK so you’re at a Halloween party with your friends maybe like a week before the 31st bc u know being an adult is difficult and no one is ever free at the same time and u need like 2-3 weeks to organise a single drink so you’re all like halloween drinks on the 27th!!!!
you’re not properly dressed up, you’re wearing a tight black dress with some fake blood covering your neck and some fake fangs. tbh with a make up wipe your entire spooky look would be gone but Fox thinks you’re the spookiest/sexiest thing he has ever seen (he nearly makes you late because he can’t stop kissing you goodbye)
He tells u if u can’t get a taxi to call him immediately and he’ll pick all ur friends up and drop them all home BUT u insist that you’ll be fine and then you’re out
Fox is left alone and whilst he’s definitely going to miss u, this week has been a lot and he is very much looking forward to lying on the sofa, with a beer, a blanket and a horror film on the TV. He hums to himself as he gets the living room ready, ensuring that everything he needs (extra snacks, his glasses and a blanket) are all within his grasp so he doesn’t have to leave his comfortable position again
He turns the TV on and as he is flicking through the channels he hears a small meow at his feet, he goes to look down and ur cat Boo is just staring at him. Sometimes Boo is so quiet and calm, u both forget u have a small feline housemate/child (and then she screams at 3am whilst sat on your chest)
Boo meows and tilts her head at Fox, “Mom is out tonight so it’s me and you. I’m planning on watching some movies and having a nap- do you wanna join?”
Boo meows again as Fox pats the space next to him, she looks at him blankly as he continues to pat the empty spot. “Boo c’mon you’re making me look like an idiot…and it’s only me and you here”. She meows quietly and turns around to wander around the house. “Okay...whatever” Fox says to himself, placing his glasses on his face as he turns the volume up on to watch The Exorcist.

Fox feels his head start to drop a few times, he is no longer paying attention to the film and he knows he’s about to fall asleep. He repositions himself to get comfortable and suddenly feels the weight of a cat on his stomach. “Oh, finally decided to join me?”. Boo chirps softly in response and curls into a ball on Fox.
Boo falls asleep before Fox and watching her small body rise and sink with her breathing makes it harder for him to not doze off. The small buzz of the beer in his veins, the twinkling fairy lights and the comfort of the sofa all become the perfect environment for an evening nap.

You’re not drunk, maybe a little bit tipsy but honestly you’re impressed at how sober you feel. You thank the taxi driver and get out of the car and practically run to your front door- sometimes you feel lame about how much you miss Fox but fuck it, love is beautiful and all that soppy stuff.
You can hear the TV playing softly in the background and the unmistakeable sound of Fox snoring in the front room. You smile as you kick your shoes off and pad slowly into the living room and there he is- what a sight.
He’s fast asleep with Boo in a tight ball on his chest. Fox’s snoring hasn’t disturbed your sometimes skittish cat and, as ever, she looks content when she is asleep on someone. You press a soft kiss to Fox’s forehead, feeling him begin to stretch as he opens his eyes “hi handsome, have a good sleep?”. As Fox starts to move, Boo looks at you and yawns, stretching her body and then jumping off Fox as if she had not just spent the past few hours dozing with him.
He hums and asks what time it is as he reaches to bring you to him, “come lie with me-please”.
“Let’s go to bed, c’mon Fox” He gives you his best puppy eyes and pushes out his bottom lip, you roll your eyes and side in next to him on the sofa. He wraps his arms around you and kisses your head softly, “did you have a good night?”
“Yeah it was okay, everyone looked very spooky” He laughs into your hair, “Did you and Boo have a good Halloween party?”
“I mean... it was less of party and more of a cat nap but it was still good"

⋆ a/n: i can't tell you how excited i was to write for this! i had took the chance to make it a halloween themed oneshot seeing as though it is october, and i've just been itching to make one anyway! thank you so much for your request! :]

Halloween. It was your favorite time of the year, the time where it looked like a crafts store had thrown up on the inside of the bunker as it was decorated with black cats, pumpkins, funny ghosts, bats, and black & orange tinsel which hung over the open doors of the kitchen and war room, serving as a makeshift door so you were forced to walk through it.
Sam of course had enjoyed your enthusiasm over the holiday despite knowing it's origins, grateful for the normalcy that it brought to their very unnormal lives. Jack did too, and upon your promise, you were going to take him trick or treating for the first time, his costume all picked out — courtesy to you. Castiel didn't quite understand your fascination with the event, but he enjoyed the glee that your soul radiated. And Dean, oh your Dean, if there was a Grinch for Halloween, that's what he would be.
He always said that your lives were like Halloween everyday, so what makes this any different? Despite it all, he had benefitted from it as well.
He watched as you waddled into the kitchen where he stood with a beer, his lips spread into a grin at the sight of your witch costume. You had almost completely sweated the face paint off, your face obviously showing signs of exhaustion. “How'd trick or treating go?” He asked, placing his beer down onto the metal counter top before tugging you into his arms where you laid your cheek on his chest, some of the green smearing on his shirt. “Tiring. It reminded me of why I haven't done it since I was a teenager; plus my feet hurt like a bitch.” He let out a deep chuckle, “Did you guys get anything good?” You nodded. “And even if we didn't poor Jack can't tell the difference, that boy likes candy too much to discriminate.”
“Did you let him dump the bowls that were left out in his bag?” You could hear the smirk in Dean's voice as he asked, clearly reminiscing the juvenile act of his youth. You pulled away from his chest to look at him, throwing your arms around his neck as his hands settled on your waist. “No, Dean, I didn't. ‘Because unlike you, I don't wanna ruin some poor kids Halloween by there being no more candy.” Dean just blew a dismissive raspberry. “Their parents end up eating most of their candy anyways, so why not take it for yourself? And besides, isn't that what being a teenager is all about? Stealing kids candy and making babies cry?”
You let out a disbelieving laugh, looking at the man incredulously. “Alright, Mr. Teenage Dirt Bag,” You said as you patted his chest, “I’m gonna go take a shower and wash all this make up off.” You placed a quick peck onto his lips. As you departed from him, you yelled over your shoulder, “Don't touch any of his candy, Dean, I'll know!” You could hear a faint, “No promises!”
Your scalp felt way better now that you had taken off the itchy wig that you felt like you had been wearing for hours, your pores feeling exfoliated as you dried your hair, walking into the room that you shared with Dean. You were then greeted by a pleasant surprise; your shared bed adorned burgers and other fattening sweets, blankets and pillows that were spooky themed had been thrown onto it as a sweet addition.
Your heart swelled as you watched Dean fiddling around with his laptop in an attempt to play the horror movie that he had picked for the night.
“What's all this?” You asked with a giddy smile. Dean let out a small sound of victory as he got the movie to play before turning his attention to you. “I just figured that you'd wanna settle down after all that walkin’ you were doin’.” He got up, careful not to mess up his set up as his hands fell on your wide hips. “And I kinda felt like an asshole for not sharing the holiday spirit.” Your eyes softened at his admission, you tugging him by the back of his neck to meet your lips in a passionate kiss.
He gratefully accepted your kiss, his lips moving against your own as he attempted to be slick and pull the old french on you.
“Dean.” You chided. “I know, I know, but you can't blame me for trying, sweetheart.” He laughed with a smile that matched your own, both of you gazing into each other's eyes before he tugged you towards the bed. “C’mon, I know you'll really like this movie.” You allowed him to help you on the bed, backs sat up against the pillows as he had you tucked away in his side, your head resting on his chest.
“All Saint's Day? Really?” You asked, a teasing lit in your voice. “What? It's a classic!” He exclaimed, giving your body a squeeze. “I know it is, Deano,” You leaned up to press a kiss against his jaw, his scruff brushing against your chin, tickling you, “But that doesn't change the fact that we've seen this movie almost a thousand times already.” You spoke against his skin. He just scoffed, “Shut up and eat your burger, woman. ‘Before it gets cold.” There were no malice in his words, which made you giggle nonetheless.
“Yes sir.”

• Even if Ranpo is 22, he would still go trick or treating because of the candy and to spend time with you
• Expect multiple I mean MULTIPLE cheek kisses and long hugs when taking breaks from walking house to house.
• If you didnt want to go trick or treating ranpo would for sure pitch a fit but soon enough if your didnt agree to go he would let in and your stay home and watch movies and just get candy from a gas station

The Hectic Halloween night ᰔᩚ
It was around 7pm on the 31st of October, it was sorta last minutes but you and Ranpo decided to go trick or treating together. "Oh cmon! Hurry hurry! What if the houses run out of the candy??" Ranpo urged, he was like an impatient child. Y'all were going as two witches it was simple and fun for a last minute option. "One minute Ranpo I'm trying to find the bags because knownjng you, you want to run around the entire neighborhoods" the other male spoke, grabbing multiple bags for the fest if trick or treating that was about to happen.
One the two males had gotten ready, they were off into the night dressed as silly little witches. Skipping through the neighborhoods knocking on the doors trick or treating. It had already been an hour or so of trick or treating and causing chaos like ding ding ditching, it was 8:30pm now. The two of y'all were sitting on the curb of a side walk catching yall's breathe. "Soo, how many bags of candy do we have!~" The brunette asked, he was so excited that his boyfriend(or boy best friend!) wanted to go trick or treating with him!!
Because well usually Fukuzawa would go with hin like a father of course, but now since he had the most perfect boy, he enjoyed it even more. "We have a couple of bags, maybe two or three" you responded to Ranpo, your response made Ranpo light up he was SUPER excited.
Ranpo stands from the curb and helps you along with him. "Well, let's go home the, sugar!" Ranpo said happily with a gliming smile on his face. Y'all had about two and a half bags of candy as y'all walk home, it was around 9pm now. Y'all arrive home, kicking off your shoes and taking off the witch hats y'all wore the night. An exhausted sigh escaping your mouth as you rest your head down on Ranpo's chest. Ranpo gently embraced you, wrapping his arms around your waist, holding you close. "I think this was a success, what do you think, sugar?" He spoke to you with a bright smile, he loved you so much it was crazy. "Yeah, it was extremely successful, dear. You did really good." You spoke with a smile. The praise you gave Ranpo made him squeeze you in the embarce a bit tighter
"Maybe we should go cuddle in bed? and sort through the candy later tomorrow" you asked the brunette with a gentle smile, your question made Ranpo give a delightful nod. "Yes! Let's go! I'd love to cuddle in bed with my handsome boyfriend!" Ranpo was practically jumping up and down as he ran to the bedroom, your hand in his. Y'all then slipped under the warm covers, Ranpo was holding you close to his chest. "Oh Sugar, I love you, you know that right?" Ranpo spoke softly, he knew you was tired so he figured to keep hai voice down.
"Of course I know you love me, and I love you too dear, more than anything" you said with a soft smile, cuddling close to Ranpo and then slowly falling asleep. Nice and snug close to your boyfriend. Ranpo was running his fingers through your smooth (h/c) hair, kissing you're for head softly.
Ranpo was humming soft songs to lull you to sleep, which surprisingly worked, you were fast asleep against Ranpo. His arms wrapped around you as you were lulled to sleep. "Good night my world.."

For the last week of October I invite everyone to make whatever creations spark your fancy! Gifs, fics, art, edits, playlists, bring it all on in this Halloween event.
I've kept the prompts pretty basic so you can make whatever comes to mind. Feel free to interpret these however you want! I'll list some ideas that came to mind for me when making them to help the brain storming start, but you can do whatever you like.
This isn't ship or show specific, so pair up whomever you like, make a group thing, a ship thing, a friend thing, or even solo! Crossover the shows or stick to your fave! Just use the tag #TVDUHalloweenFest so I can reblog ya!

🎃IRMA'S SPOOKY FICLET-FEST 🎃
Hello besties! If you know, you know, that I keep it spooky all year round, but halloween is my absolute favorite time of the year and I like to find creative ways to celebrate for the whole month! This summer I’ve been coming back to writing so much thanks to the newest silly man, so I decided to keep that up by celebrating the spooky season with ficlets! The goal is to keep them around 100 - 200 words so that I can manage to complete them, since life is super busy for me atm (but there’s always time for the spooky time). I’ve come up with a list of prompts based mostly on spooky songs and horror movies that I like.
RULES
The movie prompt requests CAN be related to the actual plot of the movie but not necessarily (maybe you just find the title interesting). Also applies to the songs
You can definitely mix up and combine from each category if you like! or throw an original idea of yours, mixed with a prompt from this list
Please specify if you’d like for the ficlet to include smut, or if you’d like for me to keep it sfw
(please consider that the main blorbo of the moment is Eddie Munson and that most of my writing recently has been centered around him, but I AM including the blorbos of my past)
Things I don't include in my writing: a character being related to another one from canon, specific descriptions of physical appearance such as weight, race, etc.

October Halloween Movie Fest Day 27:
Tonight I watched Idle Hands! I’ve seen it before, and liked it, and then promptly forgot about it right up until @devantheimpaler recommended it, and I’m glad they did! I remembered it being fun and dumb, and it was, but it was like intentionally dumb in a way that made it more fun. The characters were more dumb than the movie, if that makes sense. All of this in a good way. It has good effects and a fun spooky vibe, and some AMAZING Evil Hand acting which I am a bit of a sucker for, and Seth Green is always great. My only complaint is the paper-thin personality of the Sexy Love Interest, and I’m sure she gave the target demographic exactly what they were looking for, and she improved a bit by the end. Good choice, will definitely watch it again sometime.
Treehouse of Horror 27 (Dry Hard/BFF R. I. P./Moefinger)
I think these segments were pretty good generally, but I am really noticing how short each segment is and how overstuffed the episodes have become. I get that this was the 600th and they wanted to go crazy, but they had a respectable opening with past villains, then a second opening that was a overly long couch gag masquerading as a segment of its own, and then three whole segments after that, each of which felt like they ended too soon. It was too much to cram in, really. Anyway, Dry Hard was a great mixed parody of The Hunger Games and Mad Max Fury Road with cool designs and lots of fun character deaths—and the “part one” “part two” etc title cards got funnier the deeper they went. Not terribly spooky other than the death, and as I said above it did feel slightly rushed, but i think this one did a little better on that front than the others. BFF R. I. P. was a very good little Lisa story—I will have to update my stats someday—and brought the most Spookiness IMO. Also, if I had a nickel for every time I saw a living thing be put in a microwave and zapped to death tonight, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice. Moefinger had the most abrupt ending I think, but did have a spectacular fight sequence like it’s inspiration, antagonist Homer was a lot of fun, and I think it was a more interesting and creative use of Moe than some of his other THOH outings. Pretty good overall, I just wish each segment was a little bit longer. Oh, and TheRealJims’ video about THOH deaths mentioned that he’s convinced the writers were very deliberately killing off a huge number of characters in this episode, perhaps for the 600th occasion, and I can’t unsee that. There were a lot of deaths! My list is now 1, 5, 4, 7, 6, 3, 2, 20, 9, 8, 17, 27, 23, 16, 15, 25, 26, 19, 13, 24, 21, 12, 14, 10, 18, 22, 11.

Milo Halloween headcanons pls pls pls 🥺

Halloween is his favourite holiday!
Before his parents died, it was tradition for Milo to finish his homework after school with some spooky movies in the background as he worked. The he would eat dinner and his parents would take him trick or treating.
His mom always said "it was a match made in heaven" because all of the candy Milo didn't like were his dads favorites.
He was very adamant about dressing up as a vampire multiple times growing up.
Theres a photo floating around somewhere of a baby Milo in a little pumpkin costume.
His aunt wasn't too happy about him celebrating it but he moped enough that she got sick of it and let him go trick or treating.
As he grew up, he transitioned from watching spooky child friendly Halloween movies every October to horror splatter fests.
He usually spends Halloween night with some pizza, beer and horror movies that he meticulously planned.
Even though no one sees his house on Halloween, he still decorates it.
A lot of which are vintage that he found in the basement when he moved in.
He can see the cemetery through the trees since all of the leaves are gone. He sometimes has to chase local kids out of the cemetery on Halloween night if he sees flashlights shining around.
He fills those pumpkin bags with leaves and puts them around the cemetery. Mostly around the tool shed and the front gate.
He loves carving pumpkins! He always does spooky elaborate faces. Its where his artistic skills and his love of Halloween come together.
In relation to pumpkin carving, he saves all the seeds and roasts them.

Hahahaha you can see I'm really excited October is upon us and I can't WAIT for all the Halloween shenanigans (even if in my country it isn't really much of a thing, I'm still trying to find some people to go with me to the local underground goth club on Halloween and have a creepy time <3)!
But really, I'm sooo happy you enjoyed the Halloween specials and wanted to see something new this year! I was considering if I was going to write or not, but your message hit me like a confirmation of the Universe hahahaha
Jokes aside, I need to find the theme for this year's Halloween specials. Can't seem to find anything that really sparks joy within me and inspires me to write - the ideas are out there, I just need to let them find me.
I'll probably start watching some Halloween season movies. Last year, I watched Hellraiser and Hell Fest and BOOM inspiration hit for that crazy little thing hahahaha who knows what this year's gonna hold?
Need to rewatch The Crow, by the way, it's that time of the year.
I intend on writing something, yes! I just need to get into the Halloween mood and scribble some ideas here and there, finding whatever themes seem to be fun/interesting to develop the DMC crew Halloween shenanigans.

How many horror movies does Azula wheedle and/or trick Katara into watching every year on average?
Oh, so many 😈 I actually head canon Katara likes horror she just doesn’t like mindless gore fests but I think she likes supernatural movies & thrillers. And I think Azula is bored with most supernatural concepts. So, we’ll say those types of horror movies don’t count since it’s actually Katara pushing Azula to watch those movies as a “compromise” since it’s “still horror.” 😉
There’s 52 weeks in a year & I think Azula would get one fucked up gory movie out of Katara a week. And the month of October is Halloween so Azula will get extra wins then. So, let’s say about 62 😱
