I haven't gotten very far in Starfield yet but looking back it's kinda hilarious that I basically went to the character creator and I guess subconsciously decided "I'm gonna make her the exact opposite of my CP2077 character" right down to them having the exact opposite hair color.

The entire plot is just one big inconvenience #And to her working with Constellation is basically another way for her to hide from her massive bounty #She trusts them but DEFINITELY looks to use them in the beginning as...let's face it basically meat shields #Riley's story is more about learning how to trust people and accept change;#Lee's story is more about the importance of family and learning how to be less selfish #And finally-- Riley has blue hair and Lee has orange-red hair (her hacker alias was 'F1r3br4nd' and she never wanted to change it)#ANYWAY dump time over back to work #Seta Speaks

I'm exiting Christianity, but when I look at Paganism, I see so much of it is tainted by leftist morons and Wiccans? How do you bypass all of that and find authentic Paganism?

Disclaimer for all of my Christian mutuals: please understand this is not a personal attack, but this is my deep, true belief on this matter.

Well anon, congratulations on what will probably be one of the most difficult, but joyful, journeys of your life. You’ve already got the first step down, which is a major accomplishment: you’ve recognized that there is a lot of bullshit and misinformation around paganism. It’s a beautiful mosaic covered in grime and thorny, ugly, vines. So get ready for your hands to get dirty, and get ready to bleed. One of the great tragedies of paganism is that, despite what some think, the line hasn’t been broken, but it’s been heavily damaged and beaten almost beyond recognition. So my personal advice to you is:

1. Do not trust anyone that claims that paganism is a free-for-all, open religion.

Paganism is an ancestral religion. In fact, I was speaking to a friend about this a couple days ago, your ancestors probably didn’t really have the terms “religion” and “atheism” or “atheist” in their lexicon. Your ancestral gods are your progenitors. Are you alive? Is there warm blood in your veins? Then your gods are also alive too. To quote my friend “atheism only works if your gods are a separate, non-tangible thing. You cannot believe in your ancestry and blood. You can see it and feel it. It’s material.” Your ancestors, the spirits of the land and of the waters, the gods, are there whether you acknowledge it or not.

The problem with leftist “pagans” is that they come over from Christianity, but they still keep a Christian mindset, which is that, they believe that all the gods are for everyone. One of the most fundamental differences between Christianity and European paganism is that to accept Christianity means that you accept that Jesus Christ is for everyone. A Christian Norwegian, a Christian Irishman, a Christian Native American, a Christian Korean and a Christian Ethiopian are brothers in Christ. But a Christian Norwegian and a pagan Norwegian are no longer brothers according to Christianity. If you are a Christian convert, your pagan mother and father are sinners that will go to hell. You will not find them in the afterlife. In fact, it might even be your duty to separate yourself from them, from your entire family, if they refuse to accept Christ.

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” - Matthew 10:34-37 KJ

I, as a pagan, do not abide by this. Your ties to your family, your gens, your tribe of people are the MOST important thing you have on this Earth. Our ancestral gods do not tell us to eschew our own family for them. Remember this any time you have doubts. Christianity does not originate in Europe. I don’t know how to stress this enough. It is anti-European. The more you learn about it, the more you will see that.

(And going along in this vein, does that mean a Christian Englishman should let his daughter marry a Christian African over a pagan Englishman? Ponder that one.)

So how do leftist pagans fit in with this? Well, they think that the entire, giant pantheon of European gods are a free-for all. They aren’t. If you are Germanic, you worship Germanic gods. If you are Slavic, you worship Slavic gods. Wiccanism (which deserves its own separate post) cherry-picked from Celtic, Norse, Near-East/Babylonian and Greco-Roman paganism, then splashed all that with Thelema and Khabbalah, and anyone can join. TRUE paganism is a closed religion. Odin is the progenitor of all Germanic people. If you have no Germanic blood, you don’t belong to him. So why would you worship him? It’s a whole other separate post, but it goes back to the leftist mindset that everything should be for everyone all the time. It’s RACIST to say that a quirky black girl in the US can’t worship Odin! But how so? I believe everyone has the right, and should, worship their own ancestral gods.

2. Do not trust monists, do not trust people that argue that European paganism should all be smushed together into a few archetypal figures and worshipped that way. The gods are real, they are not archetypes or representatives of something.

Yes, this is a thing that’s actually happening, and it’s probably going to be the first real schism of the pagan world.

3. Do not trust anyone that tells you that paganism is an OwO so soft and kind and gentle, non-judgmental way of life, as opposed to big meanyhead Christianity with all their hard rules!!! 👿. You might or might not know that Tacitus wrote of the Germanic tribes he observed that some criminals were punished by hanging, whereas some crimes (sodomy, for instance) were so disgusting that they were punished by bog drowning. Pagans absolutely had standards of upright, moral behavior long before they had interactions with Abrahamic religions. Just because there might not be an official written, surviving codification of those rules doesn’t mean they didn’t exist. This is unfortunately something you run into with pre-Christian Europe: oral tradition was often disrupted, therefore, modern pagans have no direct way to obtain it. And don’t think for a second either that illiterate = stupid. Druids had to undergo YEARS of training in religion, history, herblore/medicine, and law memorization, probably much more than the modern man could muster, before they were allowed to practice.

4. Most of all, do not listen to anyone who tells you that you MUST follow this religion or that. You CANNOT leave church, you MUST be a Baptist and not any other kind of Christian, you MUST be a Muslim, you MUST be a pagan. Only you and the gods alone know the yearnings of your own heart. Spend time thinking about why you want to leave Christianity, go on walks, pray and meditate, journal about it. Ask yourself what specific things you have problems with, and explore those. You would be shocked how well writing your thoughts down can help you think and articulate those thoughts to yourself and others.

Now, as to good sources that aren’t tainted by Wiccanism, I recommend going straight to the fonts: Read the best translations of myths and sagas you can find. read as unbiased academic papers on history and myth as you can. I highly recommend Telegram for fantastic discussions that really delve into paganism. I can make a separate post detailing all of the channels that I follow. I like Telegram quite a bit because I find that the pages I follow cite their sources pretty diligently, which means you can go and read the source for yourself. If you’d like to remain anonymous, send me another anon and I’ll post the Telegram list, if you’re comfortable messaging me, I can message you that list, and give you some better ideas of specific texts to read if I know which branches of European paganism you’re wanting to explore.

5. If you see a blog that talks about “working with” a god rather than worshipping them, block on site.

6. You know what, just block all Wiccans. Fuck them.

Remember that you are not alone. What you feel, I suspect, is shared by many Westerners, who feel in their blood the secret wild yearning to return to the ways of their ancestors. They might not know that’s what it is. What that nearly ungraspable thing inside them calls for, but I think if more people were made aware that there’s another thing out there, not Christianity, not atheism, not Islam, but another, half-hidden, secret thing, they might be able to give a name to their longing.

The Unfortunate Story of John List

John List was the only child of German American parents born in Bay City, Michigan. His parents' names were John and Barbara List. John grew up in a Lutheran household which led him to become a Sunday school teacher just like his dad. John worked as a lab tech during World War Two. He served three years before being discharged in 1946. John went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration. He then earned a master's degree in accounting.

John was called back into active duty in 1950 due to the advancement of the Korean War. He met a woman named Helen Taylor while stationed in Virginia. They began a romantic relationship and got married in December of 1951 in Baltimore. The two decided to live in California. Due to his work as a successful military accountant, John was reassigned to the Finance Corps.

John completed his second tour in 1952. He went on to work as an accountant in Detroit. He later took a job as an audit supervisor in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This is where he and Helen raised three kids together. John became a general supervisor by 1959.

Unfortunately, Helen suffered from alcoholism. She became increasingly unstable over the years. Her daughter (before she met John) Brenda, moved out of the family home in 1960. The rest of the List family moved to Rochester, New York where John was offered a job with Xerox. After becoming the director of accounting services, John accepted a job as Vice President and comptroller of a bank in New Jersey. This is where the family moved into a large estate in Westfield, New Jersey named "Breeze Knoll." The home was a 19 room victorian mansion.

John decided to kill his entire immediate family on November 9, 1971. When the kids left for school that day, he shot Helen in the head. She was 46 years old at the time. He then went upstairs where he shot and killed his mother Alma who was 84 years old at the time. Then John decided to sit and wait for his kids to come home from school. Patricia and Frederick List were the first to arrive. The were 16 and 13 years old. John shot and killed them both. Afterwards, John proceeded to make himself lunch, run to the bank to drain his mother's accounts, then went to the local high school to watch his eldest son John Jr. play soccer. When John Jr. was finished playing, John drove them both home. John attempted to shoot his son shortly after they entered the home, but the gun misfired. This gave John Jr. a chance to fight back against his father. But it was to no avail. John shot him several more times. John Jr. was the only victim to be shot more than once.

After the murders, John placed the bodies of his family into sleeping bags and lined them up in the ballroom of the family home. However he had to leave his mother’s body upstairs, claiming she was too heavy to drag downstairs. John then sat down to write a five page letter to his pastor stating that he killed his family to “save their souls.” He proceeded to try cleaning up the scene, but he also eerily cut his face out of all of the family photos in the home. He turned the radio all the way up, turned on every light in the house, and left without a trace to start a new life.

The bodies of the List family weren’t discovered until around a month after the murders. The neighbors weren’t suspicious at first, because the Lists tended to keep to themselves. John wrote letters to his kids schools and jobs to explain that he was taking the family out of town on a trip. He canceled the milk, mail, and newspaper deliveries. Neighbors finally alerted authorities when the lights in the home started burning out.

Investigators started by examine the outside of the house and determined that nothing seemed amiss. Police returned on December 7th after getting a call from Patricia’s drama coach when she couldn’t get an answer at the door while trying to pick Patricia up for her lesson. Police entered the home through a small window in the basement, and found the bodies.

This crime was the most notorious felony in New Jersey since the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby. There was a nationwide manhunt issued for John. The family car was later found at JFK airport, but there was no evidence that John ever got on a plane.

Breeze Knoll was eventually burned down nine months after the murders. The fire was ruled as an arson but is still unsolved. A new house was built on the land in 1974

John took a train from New Jersey to Michigan, and then to Denver where he settled in 1972. He got a job as an accountant and started using the alias Robert Peter Clark. He joined his local Lutheran church. It was while attending this church that he met his next wife Delores Miller. They got married in 1985. The couple moved to Virginia in 1988, and John got a new job there as an accountant.

An episode of America's Most Wanted covered the List murders in 1989. A forensic artist assembled a bust of an age progressed John. This bust was eerily similar to John's current appearance. Less than two weeks after the show aired, John was arrested. John denied his true identity for months. He was extradited to New Jersey in 1989. John didn't admit to being who he was until February of 1990.

During the trial, John admitted that the family was struggling financially after he was laid off from work in 1971. However, he kept his unemployment a secret from his family. He would leave for work at the normal time, but just spend the day reading the newspaper at a local train station. He made ends meet by stealing money from his mother's bank account. Some of the List children had taken on part time jobs to help out the family.

During the trial, John was diagnosed with OCD. John was too proud to accept welfare, so he saw his only financial option to be killing his family, sending them to heaven, and starting a brand new life.

John was convicted of five counts of first degree murder on April 12, 1990. He was quoted saying, "I feel that because of my mental state at the time, I was unaccountable for what happened. I ask all affected by this for their forgiveness, understanding, and prayer." The judge responded, "John Emil List is without remorse and without honor. After 18 years, 5 months, and 22 days, it is now time for the voices of Helen, Alma, Patricia, Frederick, and John F. List to rise from the grave." John was sentenced to five consecutive life sentences. This was the maximum penalty at the time. John quickly filed for an appeal, but was equally as quickly denied.

John admitted during an interview with Connie Chung in 2002 to not considering suicide as another viable option because it would bar him from entering heaven where he hopes to reunite with his family someday.

John died at the age of 82 in 2008 from a bad case of pneumonia. He was being held in New Jersey at the St. Francis Medical Center. He has since been referred to as "The Boogeyman of Westfield."

Haha he’s so stupid (affectionate). I honestly think of him as a pathetic little kitten sitting his butt out on the sidewalk in the middle of the pouring rain that is actively being picked up by Adrien and wrung in a towel and tossed a saucer of boiling hot milk when it comes to his social skills. Ok, dumbass speedrun 3, 2, 1, go!!

He likes oranges but not really the color orange.

Also, not a fanatic but he thinks sports cars look cool.

A naturally good swimmer. When around other people, he’ll often dive under the surface and swim around to where he wants to go that way to avoid disturbing anyone.

His kind of humor is watching Jaws for a night time pool party and diving under the water to pinch people’s ankles.

Honestly a big softie for his mother and the sweet blonde women in his life generally. Yes, this includes Rose.

He bites the middle of his lip and scowls when thinking.

He has drawn blood previously; now has a small linear scar.

Looking for it is one of the only ways to tell him and Adrien apart appearance-wise.

This guy is literally the best wingman.

He does everything with such sleight of hand to make sure his ships sail.

Felix is the resident babygirl. Everyone calls him that, but if anyone new tries to he’ll slit their throat ok.

He’s incredibly good with young children; no one knows how or why he attained the knowledge he has.

Then they hit the age of three and he’s trying to teach them tax evasion. No.

Zero genuine social skills. He has them when he’s being fake and then he tries to do it for real and they go poof.

He’s just that good at magic huh.

Also has a deeply engrained fear of trusting people with knowledge of his interests thanks to trauma from his broken relationship with his father :)

You just have to understand that this man is a pathetic, sopping-wet-cat of a man. That’s, like, the message here.

Introductory post

I am sua (sualeha) muslim,19,Indian. I seeked for academic validation most of my life so i have been average in studies (average = 80%). I know many languages

Coming onto the mental health. I have a lot of disorders.Medically diagnosed are panic, ptsd and anxiety. One time i had Bulimia nervosa. I really dk why am i saying this here, ig its nuts how less people know about Mental health disorders. Its coz of the social stigma maybe.

About my personality its very toxic i have anger issues,i get jealous easily, i don't like to share whats mine. It may be coz of my childhood traumas and things that happened when i was young.I constantly need validations.

I love to read books, i enjoy my time alone, i listen to Rotten mango podcast b Stephanie Soo, A Korean American and shes mind blowing. I have interest in history, politics and travelling. I love hiking and going on walks although i have hiked only 4 times.

His father was a human, an Irishman living in the states. His mother was a dragonkin who descended from the Korean draconic bloodline, traveling outside her home country. They chanced upon each other and had a son, Casey. After his father passed away, Casey and his mother left for her home country, Joseon (the Korean kingdom at the time).

When Japan colonized Joseon in the early 20th century, Casey and his mother worked as a part of the Korean freedom fighters. His mother was killed in the process. Even after the independence, however, the Korean War broke out as a proxy war of the American and Soviet powers, and Casey witnessed too many massacres and violence.

Losing all faith in humanity, Casey snapped. When he saw a group of soldiers about to wipe out an entire village, he turned those men to ashes and killed some more soldiers who chased him down.

Casey developed a severe case of misanthropy, and over the years he killed evildoers and those who hurt others with no remorse. At some point, he was pursued by hunters and he had to disappear. He came upon Alexandria, Louisiana and stayed there.

Back in the days, Casey used to be a physician and a medic. But since he came to Alexandria, he has picked up veterinary medicine not wanting to deal with people anymore.

No, and im not clear on what they might be in the sample (from 1927-1944 denmark)

In the us, whose adoption history has traditionally attracted the most attention, obviously the biggest characteristic related to socioeconomic class on the grounds of which adoption agencies have practised discrimination has been race, and for a long time black-to-white adoptions were de facto banned (for obvious racist reasons). This seems to have changed around the end of wwii, only to start reversing in the 70s. The biggest shift in transracial adoption seems to have come in the 50s, from humanitarian/evangelical intl adoption, pioneered by the holts adoption of korean-born children

Obviously these sorts of racial matching would have played less significant a role in (inter)wartime denmark; afaict danish transracial adoption only seems to have begun in earnest in the postwar period, with a large influx of illicit adoptions of mixed race babies born to german white mothers and black American fathers stationed in germany as troops (truly the contours of racism against black American men are fractally subtle)

So in short idk, the mednick et al paper does not clarify and im having trouble scrounging up better info, at least in english

HISTORY:

Born on the 29th of May, 1986 in New York, Jonah Locke is the quintessential tough guy. Taken away from his mother at the age of three for abuse and neglect, Jonah had to learn to take care of himself at a very young age especially when he had to move from one foster home to another. Jonah didn’t have any luck with any of the families that took him in despite his effort to be a 'normal' kid. Eventually, after sending his last foster father to the hospital after he stood up for himself against the man’s abuse, Jonah was sent to a juvenile facility and emancipated himself from the state when he was released.

Jonah’s life had been full of challenges since then and he never had a proper place to call home or any people to call family. Getting involved in gambling and drug dealing, Jonah’s life was surely going downhill but he didn’t fully realize this until he was being beaten to death after being caught stealing from the gang he recently joined. With a sack over his head, he was taken out of state but instead of putting a bullet through his head, the gang threw Jonah to an underground fighting ring which, ironically enough, straightened him out.

Through the months, Jonah struggled to live a normal life, but circumstances lead him to commit assault which he ended up going to jail for. On his release, Jonah was put on probation and during this time, he worked with his good friends Dante and Olive, doing maintenance and gardening. With enough money saved between him and his friends, they started a business which turned into a success.

After a little over a year, Jonah returned to his home city of New York after where he hoped for his new business to also took off. His dedication paid off and even started dating a lovely businesswoman. Things seemed to be going smoothly for Jonah even though he knew coming back to New York was a risk. He had a lot of history in the place and the roots of all his problems began in the same city. When things between his girlfriend and him started to fail, Jonah wondered if it was even worth it moving back. He thought he needed a change and finally answered a long time friend, Isko’s call to take on a job in Hawaii. It's been a year since he started expanding their landscaping in Hawaii and it's doing great. Another success but despite all that, there seems to be something missing...
