Okay now I'm curious which Disney guy it is that you're too embarrassed to draw??? You're on the self-shipping website, I'm almost certain that you will find some like-minded people here :3c
If it helps, I've had a crush on Hades (Hercules 1997) since I was 6, and have been too embarrassed to ever say anything about it to like, ANYONE, so you're in good company here! 😉
oh im not a stranger to self shipping, far from it. ive shamelessly drawn myself with wario and waluigi, you can literally go find it down my blog feed, ive got a list of like 65+ f/os at this point and half of them are goofy ass silly guys lol
no see the reason i think im so embarrassed is because i really dont like disney, havent liked disney for a long time.... its like a betrayal of my moral compass or something to like him, but if you really gotta know..
its faciler. hes not new, ive got some old self ship art floating around somewhere and its still actually pretty decent to me, but GOD just. AUGHHHH PULLING MY HAIR WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE A DISNEY CHARACTER I HATE DISNEY

Picture this:
Dream with Reader who's very shy, skittish, reserved and oblivious. She's easily flustered, a girl of few words, nerdy and socially awkward to the point where it's painful, but she's good at her powers and her job, and that's all that matters to her. She's sent to his realm to help with the rebuilding of it by her organization. Few weeks of working alongside her, and he has fallen head over heels with her, and yet, she knows nothing. His attempts at flirting with her were met with either her getting flustered, retreating and quickly changing the topic or just plain obliviousness as she goes on her merry way with her work, unintentionally ignoring his advances and stonewalling him. And what do we know... Dream isn't the most patient of beings and at this point, he's tired of just feeling like he's trying to approach a skittish stray cat. What will he do? Decisions, decisions...
Tumblr media
Oooo anon I’m intrigued! Like let’s say for plot reasons the reader is fae (or maybe a demon still debating) who is basically there to aid Dream but to be an olive branch between their realms and have a better relationship
You had been living in the Dreaming for quite some time now. Dare you say, it started to feel like home. The residents were kind, and the ruler wasn’t who you expected. Rumors always swirled around the Endless, and you had heard a few nasty ones about Dream in particular. However, since his recent imprisonment there was a change in him. Or at least his residents and people told you.
“How are you this evening, my honored guest?”
You peered over your shoulder to the king himself, Dream. “I am well, thank you.”
You continued your easy stride with maps of the Dreaming in your hands. Lucienne had requested them.
Dream walked beside you. “I am glad to hear.”
You simply hummed in response.
Dream stepped in front of you, blocking your path. You froze and your eyebrows furrowed together.
What a cute expression, he thought.
“My dear,” he stated. “I hope you are not lying to me. If there is anything I can do for you, you may simply ask.”
Your heart sang at his term of endearment. Yet, you buried such feelings. You shook your head, “I assure you I am content.”
“But, not happy?”
Content sat wrongly in his mind.
Your gaze dropped. “I am -“ you cleared your throat and clutched the maps closer to your chest - “I’m sorry, but I must -“
He gently tipped your chin up, forcing your eyes on him. Your words died on your tongue. His gaze was one of upmost intensity. A shudder ran through your body.
“Perhaps on your break,” he hummed, running his thumb across your chin, “you could join me possibly for some tea.”
“I - I would be honored but -“
He sighed unable to hide is disappointment, “And who else has your attention this evening?”
No one.
After delivering the maps to Lucienne, you would be done for the day. Surely, Dream had better things to do than entertain you.
“I am sure a king as yourself is quite busy,” you pointed out.
He leaned in closely. “Oh, sweet one, I can do what I please. Like you said, I am king and I wish to be in your company.”
His eyes flickered down to your lips. He did little to had his want for you. You swallowed nervously. You quickly yanked yourself away from him.
It’s not like that. Something was probably on my face.
“I will meet you then,” you answered with your eyes locked onto the floor.
“Look me in the eyes and answer me,” he said. “It’s little disrespectful to not address me properly.”
He didn’t care. He simply wanted to see your lovely face, to see your adorable expressions.
You winced internally. Of course. Glancing up, you cleared your throat and stated, “I will meet you for tea after my delivery.”
Dream smiled, almost predatory like. “Good, I will see you then.”
A heat spread all over your chest. Your eyes widened. You mumbled out a goodbye before rushing off the to library.
Dream continued to smile at you. Just one day at a time, he thought. He would have you soon enough. You would soon understand his desires for you, his sweet guest.

Any sort of smut with a naga or feral mothman like creature please and thank you
Anon, you said "naga" and my lil scaly heart got so happy. I have no idea if this is even remotely in the realm of what you were looking for, but I just couldn't shake the idea of a human prince with a harem full of monsters. I hope you enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Prince's Favour (M!Naga x M!Reader, NSFW)
For reference: Enéas is a Brazilian rainbow boa. I was 100% going to have a blowjob scene in this but rainbow boas have backwards hooked teeth (think fishhooks) that are designed to not let things back out, and having that near your dick sounds like a very bad time.
Word count: 3514
Includes: Power dynamics (prince x concubine), non-human genitalia, rough sex, double penetration, a little bit of crying
Being the youngest prince in a kingdom with a still-living king could be overwhelmingly boring. Matters of state were passed to your parents and eldest sister, matters of security to your next oldest sibling, infrastructure and agriculture to the next oldest, twin brothers. Your bloodline was long and vital, which was very good for the kingdom’s longevity. It was not so good for keeping you occupied. Your role, as well as your youngest sister’s, ended up being almost completely performative, with official duties being limited to keeping up a royal education and looking pretty beside your family during public appearances. The whole arrangement left you with a lot of free time to eat and draw and lounge about.
And have sex.
It was normal for royalty to have lovers or harems, if they wanted to and their spouses were okay with it. You yourself had several lovers, all of whom you enjoyed and cared about deeply. One of whom was currently lounging invitingly on your bed as you did your best to capture his likeness in paint.
“Enéas, beloved, can you hold still for me?”
The naga groaned, the muscular coils of his body shifting slightly as he did. “I’ve been sitting for hours now. When you called me, I didn’t think it would be for this.”
“Ten minutes, then we can do something else. I swear.”
The look that he shot you was long-suffering, but he settled back into the purposefully relaxed position you had directed him into earlier after taking a sip from the goblet beside him.The whole thing was mostly an act. You had been summoning him to your chambers to sit for this painting on a regular basis for the past month, and no matter where the sessions ended (often with you wrapped firmly in his powerful body), you never put on any airs about what those first few hours would entail.
Golden sunlight shone through gauzy curtains and spilled onto Enéas’ skin, setting the scales ablaze. The round black marks that lay over red scales the colour of baked clay were already beautiful, but under the sun’s rays he was cast in a rainbow sheen, every scale shimmering like an oil slick. The creamy scales of his underbelly flowed from his face all the way down, flashing like pale moonlight between his darker coils. Naga rarely wore clothing, they had no real need to, but Enéas had certainly developed a taste for finery during his time in the palace. Fine, sheer cotton, dyed snowy white and rich yellow, draped around him like woven light, held in place by gold clasps. Cuffs set with precious stones circled on his wrists and biceps, and a beautiful metal collar engraved with intricate patterns lay flat against his throat.
“You’re staring, little prince.”
The rasping taunt broke you out of your stupor, and you realized that your eyes had been locked on him, paintbrush unmoving on your canvas. You finished the stroke you had started with a careful flick. Stepping back a little, you surveyed what you had done so far. The hours spent on the portrait had been worth it, and even though it wasn’t done, you could stand to be finished for the day.
“I was distracted,” you said. “You were distracting me.”
A cheeky grin split Enéas’s face. It was hard-edged and full of sharp, hooked teeth, stretching far past what it would have on a human face, but managed to be as lovely and charming as it was frightening. “I have no idea what you mean. I was only sitting here, just like you asked me to.”
“Sitting there in a very distracting way.” You wiped your hands on the sturdy apron you wore before untying it and discarding it messily to the side. “We’re done for today, you can relax now.”
“Finally.” He stretched his arms above his head and groaned loudly before flopping back and letting his eyes close. The movement sent his whole body rippling in the sunlight, and the sight made your mouth go dry.
You strode towards the bed, closing the distance quickly to sit beside Enéas on your plush bedspread. He didn’t even open his eyes when the mattress dipped under your weight. With a feather-light touch, you traced the features of his face with a thumb. The transition from red to white around what would be a hairline was first, the gradient of the small scales dipping low on his forehead and contouring under his eye sockets, the way it pulled back on his temples. The flat bridge of his nose, his sharp jaw, the mouth stretching almost the entire way along the hollows of his cheeks. He just barely leaned into every touch, doing a very good job of pretending like he didn’t care about you sitting next to him and touching him like he was something precious. Each one of his breaths fanned upwards, over your face, and it smelled like the sweet lime cordial he drank moments before.
Your thumb continued its path around his face until it caught on the center on his bottom lip. One of his eyes drifted open, pupil an inky slit on yellow-green sclera, and he parted his lips just enough for his long, forked tongue to flicker out. It wound around the digit, brushing against your knuckles and the sensitive skin between your fingers. Cold spit cooled even further on your skin as Enéas licked over your hand. In a single swift movement he dipped his head forward to take your thumb fully in his mouth. You froze. His lips tightened around it and he sucked, tongue still working you over. You could feel your cock start to fill and you pressed in and down, putting the slightest amount of pressure on the floor of Enéas’ mouth. A low, raspy moan rumbled through him, eyes fluttering closed and back arching prettily.
Putting more pressure on his mouth, you hooked your thumb behind the bone of his lower jaw and forced it down, exposing hooked teeth and making his tongue loll. “Get me ready, beloved, and be thorough.” You leaned down to press a sweet kiss to the edge of his scaly jaw. “I want both of them today.”
Enéas’s eyes snapped open. His pupils were blown wide in excitement and arousal, and he flickered his tongue out over your skin again before pulling you down next to him with firm hands. Those same hands didn’t hesitate to begin roaming over your body, making quick work of the fastenings keeping your tunic and trousers closed before pulling his own scant clothing off.
“It would be my pleasure, Your Highness,” he said. The sound was already breathless, and sounded so beautiful that it hurt.
He stripped you of your clothing with an impossible combination of speed and reverence, each touch against your skin burning with affection. Pushing you fully onto your back, he slithered around you, smooth scales dragging against your increasingly bare skin until you lay cradled in his strong coils. A heavy tail coaxed your legs apart as large hands began mapping a path down your body. They skimmed over your throat and chest, pausing to tease each of your nipples to full hardness, and drifted lower, caressing your waist and stomach, scratching soft patterns onto your hips and buttocks, before landing on your thighs. His cool, clever mouth soon followed. A sloppy, open-mouthed kiss landed above your pulse, then the base of your neck, trailing cold saliva over your shoulders and down your breastbone. You moaned quietly, unbidden, and your back arched up off the bed, eyes fluttering closed. Your world narrowed to sensation: the chill on your skin, the plush mattress underneath you, the smooth rasp of scales around you. Enéas’ hands lovingly massaging your thighs.
Your eyes shot open with a gasp when you felt his mouth close around one of your nipples. You could feel his smile against your skin as he suckled on the hardened nub. A little jolt went through you as those wicked teeth grazed over the delicate skin, your cock twitching where it now lay fully erect on your belly. One of his hands wandered up to play with the flushed head, dipping into the pre-cum pooling under it before raising his hand and licking his fingers clean.
Gripping his chin, you dragged his face up to meet yours. “I believe I told you to prepare me, Enéas.” The way you said his name managed to land somewhere between sweetly teasing and bitterly displeased. “We may be lovers, but I am still a prince. This may have been my mistake, though, maybe I wasn’t clear enough for you.” You pulled him up further, tucking your mouth beside his ear so that you could whisper directly to him. “Prepare me, my love, and do it nice and thorough. After you’re done, you will fuck me, with both cocks, until I can’t speak or until you fill me with your cum. Whichever comes later. Am I understood?”
Enéas smiled, pupils completely dilated, and dipped his head down to kiss you. It was salty and bitter from your pre-cum, with the barest hint of the lime cordial underneath. “As you wish, my prince.”
He sat back and lowered himself so that he was lying on his front between your legs. The coil of his body that had been pressing one of your legs open dug in harder, pulling your thigh even further out, and he threw your other leg over his shoulder to get better access between your cheeks. His big hands dug in and pulled them apart, exposing your tight hole to the air of the room. He breathed over it, pressing wet, biting kisses onto the supple flesh of your ass before slipping his tongue out and running it all the way from your hole to your balls. The long, slender fork in the muscle wrapped around you, almost delicately, spreading cold saliva over your balls and the base of your shaft. The chill was a brief shock against your skin that sent sparks zipping through you, making you drop your head back onto the mattress and forcing your breaths out in stuttering pants.
Enéas continued alternating between licking at your rim, just barely breaching the ring of muscle with the tips of his tongue, and suckling gently at your sac, each motion drawing desperate little noises out of you. It felt wonderful, but it was nowhere near enough. Somewhere in your mind you had a brief argument with yourself about whether it would be worth it to abandon all semblance of power and control that you had in order to grind your hips back on his face. On one hand, you were royalty, even splayed naked on your bed, and you liked to hold onto that for as long as you could. On the other, the feeling of his cool scales and wet, fluttering tongue was very rapidly driving that particular thing down your list of concerns.
All of that was wiped from your mind when you felt the blunt tip of one of Enéas’ fingers, slicked with oil from a vial he must have hidden somewhere on him when he started moving. It circled your hole slowly, deliberately, pressing just inside every so often, coaxing the muscle to loosen with practiced care. You wanted to squirm, to tense up under the teasing touches, but you forced yourself to breathe through it and relax as much as possible. This earned you a raspy noise of approval and a kiss to your sensitive inner thigh from your naga lover.
Seconds later, it also earned you one of his gloriously thick fingers carefully worked all the way inside you. Your back curved off the bed, a quiet moan spilling from your lips. He pumped it in and out a few times, just starting to open you up enough for him to continue. As soon as you relaxed, unconscious fists unclenching from the bedspread, a second finger, thick and wet with oil, joined the first. He twisted the two about inside you. Each motion dragged the subtle ridges of his scales along your inner walls, and when he crooked his knuckles deep inside you, you arched up with a breathless moan.
“Ohhhh, fuck.”
Enéas’ head emerged from between your legs, and he smirked at you as he began scissoring his fingers, stretching your rim, brushing up against the spot of blinding pleasure on every thrust. “Well, Your Royal Highness? Am I pleasing you now?”
“You would be pleasing me more if you got on with it,” you snarked at him. He grinned back at you, the tremor in your voice and the way that your whole body had begun quivering betrayed your pleasure too much for him to ever believe that you were honestly upset.
“As my prince wishes.”
He raised himself so that he was braced overtop of you, and he rubbed the head of his upper dick over your entrance. You hadn’t even noticed him teasing his cocks erect and out of the slit that usually kept them hidden, but it wouldn’t surprise you if that was what he had been doing with his other hand while prepping you. A sweet kiss to the corner of your mouth was the only warning you got before he pushed into you with near-maddening gentleness. His cocks were more slender than the average human’s, but they were longer, and were covered with nubby barbs of flexible cartilage that caught deliciously inside you whenever he pulled back. He started rocking his hips into yours, getting deeper and deeper with each stroke, dick not close to filling you up but the barbs stimulating you plenty all on their own. You moaned slightly each time he drew back, cock leaking even more pre-cum between your bodies. Waiting until he was fully seated inside you, body flush against your ass, he began gently massaging your hole, the muscle already stretched tight around him. He moved his fingers in sync with his shallow thrusts, slowly but surely opening your hole enough for him to slip his second cock inside.
You were moaning even more loudly now, shuddering noises of pleasure leaving your lips every time Enéas fucked into you or pressed in on your entrance. His finger disappeared from your skin briefly after a particularly rough thrust left you panting and teary-eyed. You whined at the loss, wriggling further back on his dick. Another rough drive of his hips sent your back arching painfully, mouth dropping open as his index finger slipped into you alongside his shaft.
“Nngg, ah-- fuck, so-oo good,” you mewled.
Enéas started fucking into you with even more ferocity, making your whole body move every single time his hips slammed into your ass. Your cock slapped up onto your stomach with an obscenely wet sound, and left wet smears of clear fluid on your skin each time it hit you. The sounds coming out of you were starting to sound desperate, morphing from regular moans of pleasure to pitiful little whimpers and gasps. You were so overwhelmed by the way that his cock reached so deep inside you and caught so gloriously coming back out that you didn’t even notice a second fingertip tease your rim. You didn’t notice it until the smoothly scaled digit thrust into you alongside his first one. The feeling of it, the stretch of your rim definitely painful now, ripped a shattered cry from you.
Your whole body was tensed up, chest heaving with panting breaths. “Oh shit. Enéas, I’m going to…”
The hand he had been using to hold himself above you darted downwards and locked in a tight ring around the base of your steadily leaking cock. The crescendo quickly building in the pit of your stomach was stopped in its tracks, and you wailed at the blocking of your orgasm. Enéas smirked wickedly at you before lowering his mouth to graze lightly over one of your nipples.
“Patience, little prince,” he chided, “Just hold on a little longer, and you can cum on both of my cocks.”
Each word he spoke was punctuated by him driving his barbed shaft into you and scissoring his fingers wider and wider. Somewhere in the haze of your almost-climax he had stuck a third finger into your hole, and all of them were now stretching you out as far as you could go. His big arms wrapped around your back and he aggressively hoisted you upwards, forcing you to wrap your legs around his body. He slipped his fingers out of you, and almost immediately his lower cock replaced it. The shaft was thicker, the head a little more bulbous, and it filled you up so wonderfully next to his other one. Once he was fully seated, he went still to let you get used to the intense stretch inside of you. You tried to wriggle about in his arm to get him even deeper inside of you, but he used both arms to grip you tight to his body, keeping you still. That mouth of his kept lovingly licking over your chest, going slack to let saliva leak out over his lips and onto your skin.
With a firm grip on your hips and an almost painful amount of care, Enéas lifted you up until only the heads of his dicks remained inside of you. Realizing what he was about to do, you stopped writhing in his grasp, relaxing as much as the position allowed. He hissed a thanks into the thin skin above your breastbone. A slight shift of his weight so that all of his coils lay firmly beneath him, and he lowered you almost all the way down onto him. He pressed sweet kisses to the base of your sternum, then each of your nipples, then to the side of your throat. Settling his face into the warm crook of your neck, he began to raise and lower your along his shafts, using your body to fuck himself to completion.
This new position made his cocks reach impossibly deeper inside of you, spines rubbing against that sweet spot with each stroke. You dropped your head forward against Enéas’ shoulder, moaning loudly. With his previous fierce grip on your tortured cock gone, you felt your orgasm begin to build again. Clear pre-cum dripped out of your slick head and smeared between your bodies. He kept bouncing you on him, breath coming out ragged against your neck as he chased after his own climax.
“Holy shit-- that’s so good…”
Your mouth hung open as heat bubbled up in your gut. You tried to warn Enéas again, but all that came out was a strangled gasp of his name before you were cumming between your bodies with a cry. His sharp mouth curved into a grin pressed into the skin of your shoulder as you went boneless in his arms. He kept driving your body down onto himself mercilessly, paying no mind to your limp form. Your eyes filled with tears and drool leaked from your slackened jaw as you were driven to complete overstimulation from him using your body.
“Mmmmhh-hngg....AH!” You moaned desperately, squirming in his arms, trying to get away from the feeling of his cocks inside you that was quickly starting to get painful. Your hole was fluttering erratically around him, and the grip that Enéas had on your hips stuttered, betraying how close he was.
“My prince, I’m…” he managed to grunt out before he pulled you all the way onto his cocks and came inside of you, clutching your body close to his.
His twin dicks twitched against your sensitive walls as thick white cum spilled inside of you. You wailed at the sensation, your own spent cock trying fruitlessly to twitch erect again. Enéas held you against him for several minutes, catching his breath, before he carefully lifted you off of him and laid you down on the now-soiled sheets. The spines on his shafts caught on your puffy rim as he pulled out, making you wince. Your belly was still sticky from your own orgasm, and gobs of Enéas’s cum leaked from your hole, making you feel even filthier. You were completely and utterly fucked-out and content as you lay there in a warm stupor. Cold lips kissed away tears that you hadn’t noticed had fallen, and a hand rubbed comforting circles into the back of your neck. He shifted his body to wrap around you in heavy coils that felt safe and warm, despite his cold blood. You stayed there, cradled against his familiar body, being covered in soft kisses and soothing caresses, until the shaky aftershocks of both of your climaxes dissipated. Once they had, you curled onto your side so that you could nuzzle your face into his scaly neck,
“So?” Enéas whispered into your ear, peppering the side of your face with affectionate pecks. “Did I please you, my prince?”
“Mmm,” you hummed, nibbling on his jaw slightly. “You absolutely did, beloved.”
Telltale Talent
Pairing: Dream / Clay x gn!reader
Summary: [Dream SMP!AU] When Dream tries to teach you how to spar, he learns that you’re more than what meets the eye.
Word Count: 2.1k
A/N: this was requested by an anon who wanted a fun sparring practice with a surprise! here’s to the first fic of 2021, and i hope you enjoy <3
Tumblr media
Clay stared down at the map on his desk, his fingers curling tighter around the quill in his hands. A mess of scribbles and circles gazed back up at him as he made another mark. He bit back the sigh that threatened to escape his throat, his brow twitching.
You were doing it, again.
He could feel your eyes on him from the other side of the room, practically boring a hole through his skull. He clenched his jaw, chewing on his lip as he tried to focus his attention on the map lying before him. If you were going to do what he thought you were going t—
At that exact moment, you opened your mouth, but he spoke before you could.
“No.”
Almost immediately, a whine flew from your lips, and you thrashed your legs in annoyance. “What?! Why not?” You frowned, determination etched into your features. “It’ll be a good experience!”
This time, he actually did sigh, lifting his head to look at you dead on, balancing his quill between his fingers. “For one, it’s not like you’re not going to go into battle, anyway.”
Your frown deepened, a line forming between your brows as you shot him a longing look. “That doesn’t mean you still can’t teach me how to spar.”
He pursed his lips, his tongue poking at the inside of his cheek. “There’s no need to.”
For a few seconds, you simply stared at one another, your eyes swimming with resolve as he grimaced. Then your face lit up, and you shot your arm into the air, making him jump.
“Self-defence!” you shouted, your entire body practically glowing with hope. “If you teach me how to spar, then I could use it for self-defence purposes.” Before he could open his mouth to retort, you cut him off with a cold look. “Clay, you can’t tell me that there’s no chance that I won’t ever have to defend myself—you just can’t.”
Clay blinked at you, glowering. You weren’t wrong, per se. He didn’t want to acknowledge it, but there was still a very real possibility that at any point, you could be in danger, regardless of whether or not you were on the battlefield. It wasn’t that he didn’t think you were capable of keeping yourself safe, but teaching you how to fight would mean having to admit that there may come a time where he couldn’t be there for you.
The mere thought left a bitter taste in his mouth.
He stared at you for a long moment, taking in the sight of your pleading face and clenched hands, your eyes desperately searching his. Then, he sighed once more, setting his quill down in its holder. “Fine.”
You let out a delighted squeal, springing to your feet before bounding over to his desk. Bending over, you pressed a quick peck to his cheek. His heart skipped a loving beat in his chest, and his cheeks flushed pink.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, Clay!” you cried, flashing him a bright grin as you pulled back. Your eyes curved into crescent moons as you giggled with glee. “You won’t regret this, I promise!”
He rested his head on his hand as he watched you cheer to yourself, pumping your air in a successful dance. A small smile flitted across his face, his emerald eyes crinkling at the corners as his map lay forgotten on the desk.
Oh, who was he kidding? You were far too cute to say no to, even if he wanted to.
Tumblr media
“So, what’s first?”
He hummed, tucking a hand under his chin. Above you, the midday sun beat down on you both, the clouds watching with eager eyes as Clay paced around the clearing.
He was lucky to have found a spot within the forest that was both open and had plenty of soft grass. This way, you’d have a proper spot to practice while also having some semblance of cushioning beneath you in case you fell. As much as he wanted to simulate a real fight scenario for you, he didn’t want you to actually get injured. He could hardly manage to keep his cool when you got a simple scrape on your finger—there was no way he’d remain calm if you got hurt in a fight, practice or not.
His steps suddenly came to a halt, and he turned on his heel to look at you with a thoughtful glance. “Before we even properly start practicing,” he began, raising two fingers, “there are two things you should know and remember.”
Your eyebrows knit together as you let out a small whine, your shoulders sinking at your side. “Aw, is this a lecture?” You frowned. “I just want to skip to the fun part, already.”
Clay rolled his eyes as shook his head, but you didn’t miss the tiny smile on his lips as he wagged his fingers at you. “Ah, ah, ah. I’m the teacher here, so you better pay attention.”
You shot him a sour look, then quietly grumbled, “Well, you’re not a very fun teacher.”
He scowled at that, placing a hand on his hip. “We’re getting there!” His gaze softened, and his tone grew gentle as he offered, “Let’s just do this first, okay? I promise I’ll keep it short, and you will get to try a real spar, today.”
Your frown was slowly replaced by a smile, and you sent him a keen look, shifting forward onto your toes. “Okay.”
He grinned, taking a few steps back from you until he was standing on the opposite side of the clearing. “Good. First,” he said, pointing his two fingers at his eyes then to yours, “never take your eyes off your enemy.” He cocked his head as he lowered his arm. “It may seem obvious to you, but you’d be surprised by how often people forget in the heat of the moment.”
Your gaze was serious when you nodded, and he was almost taken aback by how quickly your demeanour had changed. “I can do that.”
He blinked for a second, then sent you another encouraging smile. “Perfect. Second,” he carried on, pointing downward, “remember that your feet exist.”
“Okay—wait.” You froze, your eyebrows furrowing together as confusion flickered across your face. “What?”
He chuckled at your confused expression, dropping his arm. “I know it sounds dumb, but it’s true! You see,” he explained, tapping a finger against his temple, “the human brain is kind of dumb, and a lot of the time when it comes to fights, a person’s first instinct is to focus on their enemy’s hands and immobilize them.” He raised his hand toward you, curling it into a tight fist. “After all, they are pretty effective weapons. But your feet can be just as, if not more, powerful.” His gaze darted back to yours. “Do you follow?”
Slowly, you nodded, your eyes staring directly at his knuckles. “In the same way,” he continued, “it’s also good to remember that your elbows and knees are two of the strongest parts of your body.” He raised one hand, the other reaching over to tap his elbow. “Don’t be afraid to use them, because they can be especially useful.”
Your lips parted as you bobbed your head. He could practically see the gears churning in your head, and he almost wanted to coo at how focused you looked. “Feet, elbows, knees,” your murmured quietly to yourself, huffing. “Got it.”
He dropped his arm, his lips quirking. “Awesome.” He turned slightly to the side, shifting his weight onto his back foot. “Now that the so-called boring part is done, do you just want to give it a first go and try a practice fight? First person to knock the other person over wins.”
Your eyes lit up, and for a split second, Clay could have sworn he saw something dark flicker through your gaze. But it was gone as soon as it had appeared, and he was soon blinded by your dazzling grin. “Sure!”
His expression mirrored yours as he brought his arms up in front of him, his hands forming fists. In front of him, your eyes quickly scanned him up and down, and you slowly moved to copy his stance. He felt a tinge of satisfaction shoot through him. You were a fast learner.
“I’m ready when you are,” he called, cracking his neck with a grunt.
Your eyes narrowed, your tongue darting out to wet your lips, and for a moment, all was still.
Then, in a flash, you were charging toward him, stopping only just in front of him to throw your fist at his skull. He smiled at your earnest effort, quickly twisting to the side. You nearly toppled forward when your fist met empty air, and he reveled in your widening eyes. A split second later, you leapt back, swinging your left leg up and into his side. But just before your shin made impact with his hoodie, he lifted his arm, his hand quickly latching onto your ankle and holding it in place.
“Ooh, nice try, sweetheart,” he hummed, shooting you a crooked grin. He drank in the shocked look on your face as his expression grew a fraction darker and his grip on your ankle tightened.
“But not nice enough.”
He swiftly threw down your foot, watching as you stumbled back at the force. You didn’t get the chance to regain your balance before he was suddenly looming beside you, his fist flying toward your nose. With a yelp, you ducked, your arm shooting above your head to grab his arm in midair. He blinked as your fingers dug into his sweater, curling tightly into the fabric. Then, a devious grin crept onto his face.
As much as you may try, he had the upper hand when it came to brute strength.
But to his shock, he felt something sharp and hard slam into his gut, knocking the air straight out of his lungs. He quickly back-pedaled, but your hold on his sleeve didn’t let up. He only barely caught a glimpse of your kneecap before you stepped behind him, twisting his arm around and pinning it to his back. Just then, he felt something brush against his ankle.
No way.
In the blink of an eye, his legs were flying out beneath him, and he was flipping into the air. With a thud, he slammed into the ground, a dull ache shooting through his back as the grass cushioned his fall. Before he could even react, you quickly placed your foot on his chest, keeping him thoroughly pinned down.
His eyes were the size of saucers as he took in your half-shaking figure, your eyes trained on his fallen form. You panted above him, your fists slowly uncurling. “Was—was that good?”
Clay gaped at you, his head spinning with what you’d just done. You had just knocked him, a trained soldier and practiced assassin, flat on his back with practically no instructions whatsoever. He had only given you two—well, two and a half—simple tips before putting you on the spot, and you still managed to take him down.
There was no sugarcoating it—you were a prodigy.
If he wasn’t in love with you before, then he definitely was, now.
Pride swelled in his chest as he closed his mouth, swallowing. He stared at you for a moment longer before shaking his head free from his reverie. He couldn’t wait to teach you more.
“[Y/N],” he breathed, his lips stretching into an awed grin, “you’re amazing.”
You blinked, pointing to yourself in surprise. “I-I am?”
He nodded without even an ounce hesitation, his grin growing even wider. “Very.” With a small grunt, he pushed himself back onto his feet, dusting off his behind before turning back to you. “Now,” he said, “do it again.” His eyes glinted with something akin to mischief. “I won’t go easy on you this time.”
You tilted your head at him as a devilish smile of your own tugged at your lips. “In that case, neither will I.”
He raised a brow at you, but he couldn’t stop the affection bubbling up in between his lungs. He felt his heart beat faster as you settled into a fighting stance, your arms raised in front of you. “That’s the spirit.”
Your eyes locked onto each other, and for a moment, all was still.
Then, you came barreling towards him, your eyes glimmering in the sunlight. His lips curled into a smirk as he raised his foot.
Perhaps teaching you to fight wasn’t too bad of an idea, after all.
You and the Batch were looking over the city's capitol, trying to figure out what’s going on. You looked through one of your sniper scopes, having detached it from your rifle, and observed the heavily guarded area. Some people started to gather as Admiral Rampart made an announcement, which you listened to through Chopper’s satellite.
“Citizens of Ryloth, the shocking attack of your beloved Senator has left you shaken, but Orn Free Taa’s condition continues to improve and he will make a full recovery. The perpetrators of this heinous assasination attempt have been captured…”
Hunter looked up from his binoculars and over to Hera, “Assasination attempt?”
Hera shook her head, “That’s not what happened.”
You looked at Hunter for a moment before Omega spoke up.
“Hunter… Crosshair’s here.”
You took in a sharp breath as you looked through your scope and saw his familiar baster rifle and him in his new Imperial armor.
“Great. Just what we need!” Wrecker grumbled.
Hunter then gestured for the boys to huddle, so you took a bit to watch Crosshair before turning the girls.
“Keep an eye on the Capitol.” You ordered Omega and Hera, then put on your helmet before joining the boys.
“Ryloth’s not a separatist planet.” Echo said mid-coversation.
“Exactly my point.” Tech stated and went on about who knows what. You tried to listen to him, but you could see a change in Hunter’s demeanor.
“Wait here.” Hunter ordered as he rushed off.
You waited with the others before an Imperial probe droid came crashing down near all of you.
“Oh good… a probe droid.” Tech sighed.
“The Empire will know we’re here.” Echo announced.
“And so will Crosshair.” You said in unison with Hunter.
“Let’s move.” Hunter ordered, so everyone started following. Hera took a moment before being pulled by Omega with Chopper behind them. You were near frozen in your spot due to the thought of possibly reuniting with Crosshair. Echo was near the back, trying to make sure no one was left behind. He turned and saw you still in your place, then he went to you before grasping your hand tight.
“We can’t stay, mesh’la.” He insisted, which caused you to nod and follow him back to the Marauder.
You sat of the Marauder’s steps as the Batch talked with Hera.
“I told you… no guarantees. We’ll get you off world and take you somewhere safe.”
“Wait! Please!” Hera pulled at Hunter, “I’ll pay you double!”
“No money in the galaxy will matter if we’re dead! What you’re asking us to do is not worth the risk.”
Hera took a moment to look at him, “Not to you.” She rushed off. The boys started to head to the Marauder, but Omega stayed back.
“You shouldn’t have said that!”
“Being strategic means knowing your limitations, Omega.”
“She’s trying to save her family! I would do the same for you.” Omega retorted before following Hera. Hunter took a moment to process her words before turning towards the ship and seeing you still sitting on the steps. You hadn’t taken off your helmet since you got back to the base, but Hunter could sense the rigidness of your stature. He crouched down in front of you and placed his hands on either side of your helmet before gently lifting it from your head. You were pale and had tear streaks staining your cheeks. Hunter was surprised at first, but came to realise what was wrong. It was similar to your small episode in the fresher just recently. You were suffering from plasma shock… Hunter placed your helmet to the side and carefully caressed your wet skin.
“I know, cyare… I know…” He whispered before picking up your helmet, then hooking an arm around your waist to help you onto the cruiser. He sat you down and stood between your legs with his face in your hands. He did his best to coax you through the process of a plasma shock episode and made sure his attention was undivided just in case anything else happened. Once he sensed your calm breathing and heart rate, he moved away.
“I’ll be right back… just take your time, my love.” He hooked your chin endearingly before heading to the cockpit. You stay seated for a bit before Omega and Hera rushed onto the ship, straight into the cockpit. You were about the get up to see what was happening, but then D-5 rolled over to you quickly and bumped your foot.
“Star! S-s-s-star!”
You smiled weakly before picking him up and looking at him, “You haven’t broken anything have you?”
“All-all better!”
You hummed before placing him down and following his trail as he rolled into the cockpit. Yo stood at the threshold as Hunter spoke.
“Alright, you two go with Chopper as back up, but at a distance.”
The girls got excited, which caused Tech to speak up.
“By themselves?”
“Tech, Wrecker, wait until those canons are down, then move in. Echo and I will scale the Capitol wall and free Hera’s parents.” He looked down at Hera, “I guess we’re following your lead!”
Omega saw you at the threshold and grinned, “Did you hear that, Lodestar?”
You nodded with a smile, “Yeah. I know you’re just getting started with this mission stuff, but you’ve got clone blood in you. Just be careful, okay?” You approached her and cupped her face.
“Where will you be?” Hera wondered with excitement in her eyes.
“I’ll join Hunter and Echo at the Capitol. Freeing people is my thing, remember?”
Everyone looked to each other before dispersing to prepare.
*******
You walked cautiously with Hunter and Echo, approaching the walls of the Capitol. You nodded to Hunter as you all readied to scale the wall. Hunter crouched, offering you a boost before helping Echo and then jumping up himself. It was a fairly quick process and you climbed over the dursateel parapet as Hunter took out one of the guards. The other looked over the wall at Echo.
“A little help?”
Hunter got his attention as you looked at the small map of the Capitol you had downloaded through your holopad connected to your armor on your wrist. The others looked over to you before you nodded and gestured to the direction you should be going. The three of you arrived to the detention level and took out the guards then you found the cells before freeing those enclosed in them.
“What are you doing here?” Gobi Glie asked as he looked at all of you.
“Breaking you out.” Hunter explained.
“You know them?” Another male twi’lek asked who must have been Hera’s father.
“They are mercenaries, but I did not hire them for this.”
“Hera did.” Hunter stated.
“Hera? Where is she? Is she safe?” Her father asked.
Echo chuckled, “With Omega and Chopper? Let’s hope so.”
You were looking through your map again, “We should go soon, troops will be heading to the refinery by now.”
Hunter nodded before following you away from the detention level to find a safe exit. Everyone rushed down the halls but you stopped.
“What is it, Lodestar?”
“This… this is too easy.” You whispered.
“We have to go.” Cham insisted.
“No, no, I’m going to double back… see if the courtyard is clear.”
“That’s not the plan.” Hunter said sternly.
“Crosshair knows we’re here. He knows how we think. He isn’t a fool.” You argued, “I’d rather have one of us caught or killed than these innocent people we’re helping. I’m going to check the courtyard.”
You rushed away from the group before taking a detour for the upper wall again. There were troopers scouting out the exit, so you pulled out your blaster and stunned them before making your way around to get a better look. There was an overhead view on the farside of the courtyard where you could use your rifle just in case things went south. As you rushed over, you could see troopers lining up with shields and blasters, ready to attack the front gates.
“Hunter, do you copy?”
“I copy. We were just warned, we’re heading for Senator Taa’s private quarters. There’s a ship waiting there. Rendezvous back with the group.”
You stopped, eyeing a figure at the overview, “Go on without me. I’ll meet you back at the base.”
“Lode-”
You silenced your comm before pulling out the dagger you had sheathed in an underarm leather pocket. You approached carefully, trying not to make any noise. As you were getting past them, a shot near misses you. They approached out of the shadows and your heart froze. The person waiting there was Crosshair himself.
“So… Hunter has found another replacement.” He sneered through the modulator of his helmet. Your heart was pounding in your ears as he stopped just a few feet away.
“Silent too… How original.”
You gripped your dagger before sheathing it and standing there looking at him through the dark visor of your helmet.
“However, fairly stupid. Nothing like me.”
Says the one doing the Empire’s dirty work.
You took a step back as he raised his rifle again.
“At least give me a challenge.” He groaned, “You have no idea how good I am with a moving target.”
But you do…
You clenched your fist before rushing towards him and knocking the rifle out of his hands. He grunted before grasping your shoulders and tossing you into the wall. He approached you, looming over your body before pulling you by a piece of your armor and leaning you over the ledge, looking over you.
“You’re holding back… some soldier you are.” He commented quietly before taking your blaster from your belt and raising it up to the side of your helmet. Your breathing was fast and your whole body was shaking, but you still managed to raise your arm and take off your helmet quickly. Everything grew silent as he looked at you through the tinted green visor of his Imperial helmet. He dropped the arm holding your blaster and loosened his grip.
“How…”
You shoved him away forcefully before kicking the blaster out of his hands and picking it up, then shooting his rifle so it couldn’t fire. You then rushed away as he was down, making your way back to the base.
*******
It was nearly sun up when you arrived back to the valley where the base was. Omega was waiting with the Batch and Hera when she saw you. She ran up to you and hugged your midriff tight.
“I was scared you got captured by the Empire.” She admitted.
“I’m alright. Just had to make sure everyone was safe…” You replied before looking up at the others.
“We’re heading south to another city, away from Imperial scanners.” Tech explained as you approached the Marauder with her. You nodded, avoiding Hunter’s eyes and following Omega as she and Hera pulled you onto the ship.
You all arrived at the hangar of the small city before Hunter talked with Hera’s parents and the Batch was gathered around with Hera, occupying themselves. You stood to the side, still thinking about Crosshair.
“Lodestar.” Cham called and you looked up before approaching, “It has been an honor finally meeting you and working alongside you. We are all familiar with the work you have done.”
You nodded politely before Hera was called, so you walked away towards the Marauder. It was only a few minutes before the others joined you. You all filed onto the ship, but before Tech and Echo could go to the cockpit, Hunter stopped them and they all turned to you.
“What were you thinking?” Hunter pressed, crossing his arms over his chest, “You almost sabotaged the whole mission.”
You didn’t say anything, looking at him while he talked.
“You risked being caught by the Empire, Lodestar, don’t you understand that?”
You gave him a curt nod, seeing Omega’s worried eyes in your peripherals.
“Next mission, you’re staying on the ship--maybe even stay behind on Ord Mantell.” He ordered, before walking back to the cockpit. His brothers protested while following after him, but Omega stayed with you in the main Hangar.
“Lodestar? Are you alright?”
You looked at her with a nod before she went to sit as the ship started to take off.
Bad Guy
Raleigh kicked his boots off as he came through the front door and threw the duffle of computer parts into the corner. When he flicked the switch for the hallway light it didn’t come on. He tried it twice more for good measure.
Nothing.
He shrugged and slipped the flash drive from Protech Industries out of his pocket, turning it over in his hand as he picked his way toward the kitchen.
“Apparently I’ve been pulling a lot of heists in Harlon lately,” an impossibly deep voice growled from the living room.
Raleigh froze in his tracks slowly turning his body to face the tall, dark-clad figure reclined in their armchair. Their whole face was covered by a dark visor helmet that reflected Raleigh’s blood drained face back at him.
“Strange news since I haven’t left Landfall in six months,” the stranger continued. “But maybe I’m forgetful. Could you refresh my memory? What reason would I have to come to an insignificant blip on the map like this one?”
Raleigh’s heart pounded in his chest and his breathing began escaping through his clenched jaw in little gasps. “Dr-Dreadernaut?”
The Supervillain ignored him as they smoothly rose to their feet. The closer they came, the more they seemed a looming tower, a black tidal wave about to crash down and shatter anything in its way to splintered bone and bloody ribbons. “I suppose I’d make the trip to break the neck of a certain little identity thief.” Their gauntleted hand seized around Raleigh’s throat and squeezed his airway just enough to be uncomfortable. “What do you think little Villain?”
Raleigh choked. He wasn’t sure if he was suffocating or hyperventilating. Was this the best day in the world or the worst?
“I-I-I,” he squeaked. “I’m just such a big fan.”
He cringed inwardly. That was the lamest thing he could have said. If he only said cool things for the rest of his life, he wouldn’t get back that first impression back. If only he was the kind of mind control villain that could erase memories.
“Good taste,” Dreadernaut rumbled. “But a weak argument if you don’t want me to kill you.”
“Is…” Raleigh swallowed, it was like swallowing a rock the way his esophagus was constricted. “Is that an option?”
Dreadernaut ran their thumb over his chin. “No,” they whispered, half gentle, half amused. “But you’re still going tell me everything, starting with where you got this costume.”
Raleigh couldn’t bend his head to look away from Dreadernaut’s visor, but he felt the buttons on his denim shirt burst off as they tore it open, revealing a suit nearly identical to the one the Supervillain was wearing.
Warmth flushed up Raleigh’s neck, across his face, and tipped his ears. He looked like a wannabe villain. Ten months working on his persona and this is what his idol saw. And it was true. He hadn’t gone out as Nox since he got backhanded by Everlasting into a duckpond. Dreadernaut was supposed to be a temporary disguise, and he’d defiled it.
“What? Is the helmet in a gym locker?” Dreadernaut said.
“My…ugh…duffle…” Raleigh pointed shakily toward the entrance. Dreadernaut tossed him to the ground, and he crawled to the edge of the couch, feeling around the beneath the cushions until he found his back-up bone. A few seconds later, the supervillain returned with both his duffle and helmet in hand.
“Computers,” Dreadernaut said. “You’ve been using my identity to steal computers.”
“No!” Raleigh’s voice cracked as he exclaimed. “Yes. For parts. But- But that wasn’t really what I was after, I— Look, here.” He held out the flash drive to the Supervillain, reflexively gripped in his fist as soon as he was attacked. “It’s blueprints. From Protech. All their tech. Weapons, AIs, you name it.”
Dreadernaut tossed the flash drive aside.
“Hey! I worked hard for that!”
Dreadernaut pulled a long, curved knife off their thigh. “Where’d you get the costume?”
“Well…” Raleigh mumbled. “I….mdit.”
“What was that?”
“I made it.”
Dreadernaut stood in silence for several long moments.
“It was just for fun at first,” he said defensively. He felt like he need to fill the silence but he need to stop talking, “but it turned out so well…”
An eerie low static that Raleigh was pretty sure was a sigh came through the helmet. “I can’t believe you ever passed for me,” they said coldly. “A pathetic, low-class Villain not even networked, sewing his own costumes. A villain that doesn’t even know to keep his mask on until he’s out of the range of street cameras.”
Raleigh blinked. “Street cameras?”
“How do you think I found you? That hair with that nose ring. Apparently it’s a memorable face.”
Embarrassingly, it still took a few moments for him to register. His face! His face had been exposed!
“Oh, gosh! My, my identity.” He gasped. “My parents!”
“Yes, I’m sure they’ll be very sad to hear about your death. Now, if you could make a list of every crime you committed under my name. In your own phone is fine, I’ll take it with me once we’re done here.”
Raleigh pulled out his phone numbly and then froze. As soon as he finished, he was dead. He need to play his hand now.
“Write,” Dreadernaut said.
Raleigh tugged on the bone’s spirit. Goosebumps raised on his arms as each of his bones felt like they were encased in numbing fog. In Dreadernaut’s mask, he saw the black-violet tendrils leaking out his eyes and mouth.
As Raeligh’s mind instinctively recognized his danger, the spirit’s thoughts melded with his own.
I kill danger.
It wasn’t as much an actual thought as it was an overall impression. He burst forward, misty claws and fangs bared. He only managed to tear through Dreadernaut’s sleeve before the smashed their helmet against Raleigh’s head. He heard a crunch, and he was knocked him flat on his back. The bone slid across the wood flooring and into the kitchen. All spiritual manifestation vanished.
“Aaaaaggghh.” Raleigh’s eyes teared and his vision spun. Pressing his hand to his forehead he found it warm and painful. But nothing broken, right? He reflexively looked at Dreadernaut for his reflection. Then he realized the origin of the crunch.
Dreadernaut’s helmet had a long fissure running from corner to corner.
“Ridiculous,” they muttered.
Raleigh stared wide eyed as they grabbed the helmet on either side and lifted it away.
“You’re…” he stammered. “You’re…”
He rubbed the sore spot on his head. Was he seeing this correctly?”
“Surprised?” Dreadernaut said. “Biggest fan.”
“N-no. You’re just so much more…of a woman…than I was expecting…”
The supervillain’s long, brown hair was pinned tight against her head in an elaborate style of twists and crowning braids. The gold flecks of her hazel eyes looked molten as she fixed her gaze on him. A smirk curved along her square jaw.
“But…I don’t understa—"
“Women villains,” Dreadernaut shrugged, “we have a hard time being taken seriously. Heroes, civilians, even other villains, they think we’re weak. You know what I was told before I made myself this identity and built my empire? ‘Try to be more sexy.’” That’s not what I wanted to be known for. I wanted to be known for how easily I could crush a man’s head in my hands. The solution was simple.  Are you writing yet? I really won’t ask again.”
Raliegh’s mouth gaped at her. He was speaking before he even knew what he was saying. “I want to be just like you.”
Dreadernaut snorted. “What?”
“You break all the rules. No matter what anyone says, you do what you want. Do you think…I could be like that too?”
“Well, I’m about to kill you,” Dreadernaut shrugged, “so probably not.”
“Right.” Raleigh said shakily. He tilted his head back, exposing his throat. He didn’t think he could watch the knife coming without flinching, so he closed his eyes. He shivered once in anticipation, then held his muscles still. If he was going to die, he was going to do it fearlessly.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, you still need to write that list first.”
Raleigh jolted and flushed again. “R-right!” He fumbled with his phone
Dreadernaut snorted. “Besides being completely insulting, your work was impressive. You could have stolen one of my suits its so alike. And you pulled those jobs with confidence.”
“Thank you!” Raleigh exclaimed in surprise. “That means a lot coming from you!”
“If you developed your own power instead of riding on other villain’s coattails, you’d do just fine.”
“I tried that...but I felt like I was just running in place. It was so much easier being Dreadernaut than it was being Nox.”
Dreadernaut actually laughed this time. A full out howl. “Nox? You start-up villains come up with the lamest names.”
“I was going for dark,” Raleigh blushed.
“Literally, I see.”
“Look, I’m done with the list. Can you just kill me already?”
Dreadernaut sheathed her knife. “Alright, you annoying, poor excuse for a villain. I’m about to do what I only do on very rare occasions. I’m going to spare your measly life. You have two options what you do with the remainder of that life afterwards. Either you go blab my identity and I come back and kill you so slowly you wish you were never born or you come along to Landfall with me as an assistant.”
“You want to team up?” Raleigh asked in disbelief.
“I think what I said was assistant, but sure.”
“But why?”
“You’ve been a refreshing change of pace today, so I’m feeling generous. I’ll give you some villain tips, but you have to do anything I tell you to. Clear?”
“Yes!”
Dreadernaut returned her cracked helmet to her head. Her voice rumbled.
“Good.”
Symphonies of Time
This is a continuation. You can find the first part, Secrets in the Breeze, here, and the second, Where the Wind Doesn’t Blow, here.
Small breakers indicate swapping worlds. Big breakers indicate timeskips.
I’ll make better breakers soon.
I also included a few music cues! I don’t know if it’s something I’m ever going to repeat; I kind of just felt like it, but it was fun. Click on the music note when you see it!
Tumblr media
Sky gripped the Master Sword’s hilt tight, his knuckles white as he spoke to the younger hero. “Look around. What do you see?”
There was a pause. “...The sky is dark. Everything around me is bluish.”
“More specific. Items, patterns, things moving.”
Another pause. “There’s a circle beneath my feet. It’s like the one I stabbed with the Master Sword.”
Sky gave a sigh of relief. That was all the confirmation he needed. “Good. Stay in that circle for now; as long as you’re in there, the realm won’t wake up.”
“...Sky? I’m sorry.”
The hero’s eyes widened. “What?”
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry,” Wind repeated, hugging his knees. He grit his teeth, fighting to keep from crying. “I took the Master Sword from your stuff, I played that song when I shouldn’t have, I broke the tablet—that wasn’t mine.” He felt the lump rise in his throat. “If I don’t make it out of here—”
“Woah, hey, calm down,” Sky said gently. “You’re not going to die, okay? I’m right here.”
“But...the Phantoms—”
“They won’t hurt you. They’re agents of the Goddess—they’re just trying to protect what she made,” Sky replied. “The worst they can do to you is send you back where you started.”
The spoke softly, doing everything he could to be comforting in the terrifying situation. It was a technique Wind himself had used with Joel and Zill back on Outset. And yet, even still, he found it reassuring to know there was someone more experienced guiding him through this. But, still...
“Do you forgive me?”
“Of course I do.” Sky didn’t hesitate to answer, speaking firmly and sincerely. “I know how the Master Sword calls more than anyone; if she didn’t want you to take her, she wouldn’t have let you.” He gave a soft sigh. “We’re all just glad you’re not hurt, and we want you to come back to the Realm of Sound.”
“...Okay.” Furiously scrubbing at his eyes, Wind fought for his composure, taking a deep breath as he slowly stood up. Time to be a hero and face the new challenge. “How do I get back?”
“Look around you. Do you see any guardians?”
Wind looked around the clearing, alert for silver glints of armor. “...Two.” He frowned. “No, three. There’s a light through the trees.”
“That’s a Watcher. If you need to go near them, you need to be very quiet and sneaky; they can only see what falls into the light underneath them, but if they catch you, they’ll wake the guardians up.”
Wind gulped. Worse than Forsaken Fortress... “Okay,” he replied.
“Now, there should be something colorful and glowing in the clearing. The Goddess never places one too far from the start.”
This one took Wind a moment to spot. Everything around him was gray, but...He spotted something among the dull colors, tucked behind a tree. “I see something pinkish!”
Tumblr media
“Pinkish? ...Okay. When I count to three, I want you to run out of the circle as fast as you can and grab it. If it is what I think it is, it’ll put the Guardians right back to sleep.”
Wind frowned. “And if it’s not?”
“Then I want you to book it back to the circle. We can try a different direction.”
The colorful sparkle behind the tree called to him, almost as much as fear did from the direction of the Silent Guardians.
“Okay,” he said decisively, eyes narrowing as he braced himself for a sprint. “I’m ready.”
“Three...Two...”
Tumblr media
“...One.”
The instant Wind left the circle, Wild saw his ghostly form materialize in a teal shimmer. He watched with wide eyes as the younger hero darted through the clearing, ducking behind a tree and snatching something up, holding it in the air with a pink flash.
“I got it!”
Sky side-eyed Wild, watching him track Wind’s movement with interest. “Did the sky turn back to blue?”
“Yeah, it—” he paused.
Sky’s ears perked. “Kid?”
“...There’s a flower. On my arm.”
Tumblr media
Wind stared at the blossom as it unfurled, the petals spiraling out on the back of his hand as a vine spun itself around his arm. A pinkish-orange light illuminated one of the many buds along its stem, and one of the petals slowly started to turn brown.
“That’s your spirit vessel.”
“What’s that?” he asked, poking the glowing bud cautiously.
“It’s how the Goddess tracks your progress and time. One of the flower petals should be darkening.”
“It is. Should I be worried?”
“No, it’s supposed to do that,” Sky replied. “As long as that flower’s intact and you don’t walk into any Watchers’ lights, the Guardians will stay put. There should be buds along the stem of it.”
“There are. One of them’s lit.”
“Good. Count them for me.”
Wind took a moment, twisting his arm to count the little glassy bubbles. “...9, I think.”
Tumblr media
Sky sighed in relief. “Oh, good. It’s a short one.”
“I have to find eight more of those? In the Lost Woods?”
Sky blinked. “...The what?”
“Like the others talked about—the forest tries to spin you around and put you back where you started. It did that with me when I was being chased.”
Sky frowned, then turned to the others. “...Do you guys know what he means by ‘Lost Woods?’”
Half the party present looked at him like he was crazy. Sky narrowed his eyes. “It’s important. I need an expert.”
“I’m an expert,” Time said, raising a hand. “I grew up right next to the Lost Woods. They’re a pain to navigate.” He glanced over at Wild. “...I think we need to strategize.”
Wild looked back, eyes wide. “...We?”
Tumblr media
Wild held his torch carefully as Time scribbled down on a map, his eyes trained on Wind’s transparent figure. It was already night time again; Wind had failed the trial more times than he could count. If Wild had to guess, the “lower number” Sky had talked about when explaining the Spirit Vessel was only a small mercy from the Goddesses to account for the sheer confusion that was the Lost Woods.
Wind scaled a tree, then jumped down, rapidly fading pink light in his hand. He turned in the direction he thought his companions must be and gave a thumbs up, unintentionally showing them his shoulder instead. Wild held back a snicker—if the situation weren’t so nerve-wracking, it would almost be funny.
“The kid says he found another one,” Legend’s voice came through the Sheikah Slate, jolting Wild out of his thoughts as he fumbled the torch. “Can you confirm?”
Time caught the torch before it could fall. “Give us a second.” He raised his eyebrows at Wild expectantly.
The blue-clad hero caught his breath and pulled the slate off his belt, coming face to face with Legend’s eye. Wind’s Gossip Stone needs a volume slider... “I can confirm. It was in a tree.”
“Great. That should be all 9. How’s the map?”
“It’s good.” Time peered over Wild’s shoulder. “I’ve marked all the Guardians he’s come across and all the borders the woods has.”
“Then we’re ready for the final run?”
Wild glanced up, watching Wind count on his fingers and no doubt doing his own calculations. “We’re ready. Tell Sky.”
“Got it.”
Wind’s ears perked as he listened to Sky tell him the plan. He lit up, jumping for joy as he realized it was going to finally be over, then waved for Wild and Time to follow as he raced off in a random direction.
Wild sighed in relief. “Tell Sky to tell Wind to wait for us at the gate.”
“Will do. Signing off.” Click.
Tumblr media
Time looked over the map critically as the others crowded around him, rubbing his chin.
9 tears, 14 guardians, 6 watchers. 9 minutes of time to spare between each tear, provided Wind wasn’t caught.
His eyes followed possible routes, running the times in his head. This was just like his adventure with Cojiro back in his own time; the amount of times he’d failed to deliver a bottle of eyedrops in time and had to go get another dose had made him an expert at routing.
“...Alright.” He finally said, after a long period of mental puzzle solving. He pulled a charcoal stick from his belt and started drawing the route. “The first tear is the easiest to get; from there, he’ll need to go northeast and grab the one in the lotus pond. There should be enough time to wait out Watchers.”
The others listened intently as Time explained the plan to its completion. “From the last tear here—” He tapped a circle on the map. “—he can just walk off to the right and be warped back to the clearing here. There’s no watchers on that edge of it, so it should be an easy run back to the circle.” He pointed at Wild. “You can see him, so you’re going to run the route with him. Whenever he grabs a tear, tell us through the Gossip Stone where he needs to go next, and how many Guardians are marked.”
Wild saluted. “Yes, sir.”
He pointed the stick at Sky. “Sky, keep the kid up to date as much as you can. He needs accurate information as fast as possible.”
Sky nodded, fierce with determination. “Understood.”
“Great. Let’s do it.”
Tumblr media
Wind snatched up his seventh tear. “Got it!”
“Great! Just two to go. Turn left—the next one is the one inside the crack in the ground.”
“Alright. Going left.” He gave Wild an invisible thumbs up, then jogged off after the tear.
After this was all over, he was going to ask the older hero how that spirit vision of his worked.
“There’s a pair of Watchers up ahead, so be careful.”
Wind’s ears twitched as he heard the telltale bell sounds of the Watchers, and his eyes narrowed. Stealthily, he snuck his way through the forest, pressing his back up against the tree trunks one by one, face scrunched up in concentration.
He was so close. There was no way he was going to fail, not this time. He wanted out of here.
A light passed over his location, and he froze, the watcher’s lamplight bleeding through the branches. Wind held his breath in anticipation. Don’t move. Don’t move. They can’t see you.
...A moment passed, and the Watcher departed, returning to its route. It was all Wind could do not to collapse with relief then and there, but he had a job to do. Slowly, he crept towards the fissure in the forest floor, the pink light of the tear seeping through the leaves. He knelt down and reached his arm in, snatching it and booking it back to his post, just in time to avoid the return of the two Watchers.
He peered around the corner, watching them move, his heart pounding in his chest. Their lights overlapped directly on the crack, and they both paused.
Wind swallowed. Did they notice the tear was gone?
After a moment of eerie silence, the watchers looked at each other, then turned around and departed in opposite directions, resuming their patrol. Guarding the tear was not their job, catching intruders was.
With a sigh of relief, Wind gave a thumbs up to Wild. “I got it,” he whispered, voice cracking in stress. “Which way now?”
“Go right. The last one’s under a rock, it has a Sky Guardian in the tree above it. As long as you get there in time, you’re home free.”
“Okay.” Carefully, he made his way away from the Watchers’ patrol routes, then broke into a run. Freedom was so close, he could taste it.
The rock came into view, pink light seeping out from under it, and the cloaked guardian hovering menacingly above it. Gritting his teeth with courage, Wind charged forward with a shout and shoved the rock, practically falling onto the tear.
The flower on his hand shone, the pink light leaving the little glass buds and flooding it with energy. Wind gasped happily, leaping to his feet. “I got it!!!” He exclaimed. “That’s all of them, I’m done!!!”
“Great! Come on back, let’s get you out of there!”
Wind beamed, heading for the woods’ edge to warp back home.
And then...it began to rain.
Tumblr media
When the first drop hit Sky’s head, he froze, looking up at the cloudy heavens with a look of sheer terror on his face.
When the second hit, he panicked.
“Kid!” He exclaimed “Get shelter, right now!”
“What? Why?! I’m coming back!”
“It’s raining!”
“So?”
“Water and the Silent Realm don’t mix. If even a drop of that touches you—”
Tumblr media
“—the guardians are going to wake up.”
The words hadn’t even fully left the hero’s mouth when a shiny, metallic drop hit Wind’s arm.
As he watched, horrified, the glowing flower on his arm shriveled away into nothing, and orange flooded the Silent Realm.
“Kid? Kid, answer me, did any of it touch you?”
The Sky Guardian behind him drew its blades.
“YES!” Wind shouted, taking off into the forest as fast as he could. He just had to get lost, he just had to get lost, he couldn’t lose this now!!!
The mist faded in around him, and the clearing came into view with an eerie light. Wind raced past the two Earth Guardians, his lungs screaming at him for air as the swing of a massive club just barely missed his shoulder, and dove into the circle—
Tumblr media
Wind awoke with a gasp, eyes wide, bolting to his feet and ready to take off like a wild rabbit.
“Hey, kid, it’s okay!” Warriors grabbed his arm, pulling him back down. “You’re alright! You’re safe.”
Wind stared at him, then sat down with a heavy thud. “I...” He looked at his arm.
His skin no longer shone silver, the flower gone. The chirping of crickets and gentle patter of rain filled the silence that had only been occupied by Watchers and his voice for the past day.
It was over.
He’d won.
Wind collapsed back onto the ground, staring up at the sky as the other heroes approached with a hot meal and blankets. “...It’s over.” He finally breathed, relieved. “It’s done. I made it.”
“You sure did.” Warriors offered a hand and a smile. “Proud of you, kiddo.”
Wind glanced at him, then at his hand, before taking a deep breath and grabbing it.
“It’s good to be back.”
Tumblr media
Wild slurped up the hot soup happily, bundled up in a blue scarf and furry hood, and glad to finally have something in his stomach.
“I don’t get it” Sky frowned. “The flower should have turned into an item as soon as you went back to the Gate, not sent you back immediately. The Goddesses wouldn’t make a trial for nothing.”
“Wouldn’t they?” Time asked, raising an eyebrow.
Sky’s eyes narrowed. “No,” he said. “They wouldn’t.”
Hyrule put up his hand quickly. “Maybe you did something different?”
“There isn’t exactly much to do different.” Sky crossed his arms, thinking. “When I went into the Silent Realm, I played the harp to summon the gate, then knelt and stabbed the Master Sword into it. When I came back, I just drew it and went on my way.”
At the last sentence, everyone turned their eyes to the purple-hilted sword.
It still sat, resting in the gate.
Waiting.
Wind stared at it for a long moment, then looked at the others. “...I...should probably go get that.”
Four put a hand on his shoulder. “Are you sure? One of us can.”
“I’m sure.” Wind puffed up his chest. “Whatever it does, I can take it. Nothing’s worse than the Silent Realm.”
Time looked over at Wind with worry, the fears from that morning returning full force.
“Hey.”
He turned, coming face to face with the hero of Twilight. “He can take it,” Twi said. “He’s drawn that sword before.”
...He has, hasn’t he? Time sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Despite everything...he wished he knew what that sword could do consistently.
Why had it singled him out?
He shook his head, tossing the thought away. A question for later. He turned towards the camp. “Hey.”
Wind looked over, eyes wide.
Time offered a small smile. “Finish dinner, then let’s see if this trial of yours was worth the effort.”
Tumblr media
Wind stood in front of the Master Sword, the same as he had all those years ago, in the basement of the submerged Hyrule Castle. Squaring up, he grasped the hilt of the sacred blade firmly, bracing himself against the ground as he drew it from its pedestal.
The Silent Realm Gate withdrew into itself as the sword left it, the blade itself glowing with heavenly light. Wind pointed the blade skyward, determination in his eyes, then raised it above his head, its might not lost on the young hero.
Wind took a deep breath, then smiled, swinging the blade twice then performing a spin attack, then sheathing it with a flourish.
The Chain clapped in approval, and he bowed, then turned and offered the Master Sword back to Sky. “Here you go,” Wind said, rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish smile. “I think I’ve had enough of that sword for a little bit.”
Sky chuckled, taking the blade back and slinging it onto his back where it belonged. “Next time the sword calls to you, tell me.” He ruffled Wind’s hair. “I’ll help you figure out what’s going on before you get stranded in another realm.”
A sharp crack startled the heroes out of their exchange, and everyone turned to look at what was left of the stone pedestal.
The rock split in two, its purpose served. It dissolved into dust like the tablet before it, revealing yet another stone artifact to follow. Immediately, Legend snatched it up for examination. “...Hm.” He rapped his knuckles against it. “This has some strong magic in it,” he said, “but I can’t tell exactly what. It feels almost like song magic, but...” He offered it to Wind. “Any ideas?”
Wind hesitated, worried for a moment, then took the tablet and flipped it over to study it. He shook his head. “No. I’ve never seen this before.”
Just then, Four’s ears perked. “Kid, does your baton normally do that?”
“Huh?” He looked down at his belt.
The Wind Waker sparkled, begging for attention. Wind frowned. “No...Hold this for me,” he said, handing the tablet off to Hyrule and pulling out the magic artifact.
No sooner had he done so than the new tablet lit up, markings like before appearing on its surface.
Tumblr media
Wind looked up, then stared in shock. “Eight notes?”
“That’s new?” Hyrule asked.
He nodded quickly. “I’ve never conducted any higher than 6/4 time!” He looked up at Time. “...Can I...?”
Time hesitated. Following destiny’s call wasn’t the safest move, and they’d nearly had a close call with this whole Silent Realm business. And yet...he knew meddling with the Goddess’ plans was a surefire way to incur disaster. He’d learned that the hard way.
Reluctantly, he nodded. “Go ahead. Just be careful.”
Wind lit up excitedly, then drew himself up to conduct, playing the notes as directed. Everyone watched with baited breath, waiting for whatever the Goddesses could possibly give them next.
...Nothing.
Wind frowned. “Come on, that’s not right. You’ve gotta do something for all that work.” He tried again, attempting to time it better. “Maybe it’s just a repeated 4/4...”
As Legend watched the conductor’s attempts, he squinted. He recognized it, he was sure of it, but...
He snapped his fingers, eyes wide, then quickly grabbed Sky’s bag and fished out the Skyloftian’s golden lyre.
“Wh- HEY!”
“I’m borrowing it.” He shoved the bag back into Sky’s arms, then stepped in front of Wind. “Kid. Conduct me.”
“What?”
“Conduct me.” He held the Goddess Harp to his shoulder, fingers on the strings. “I know that song, but I don’t know what it does. I want to find out.”
Wind’s eyes widened. With a nod, he held his baton up, then began to conduct. Legend watched his movements closely as he played, the tune matching his memory exactly.
It was...almost scary.
It didn’t take more than a second for the melody to click into place; he’d only heard it once, but you don’t exactly forget a meeting with the Oracle of Ages easily. As he played, blue flecks of light shimmered at his fingers and the Wind Waker’s tip, the etherial music filling the air.
The rain froze, water droplets suspended midair all around the heroes, as time itself ground to a stop. A cerulean glow pulled itself through the newly made prisms, filling the air with rays made of sapphires. They wove themselves together in a net, then spun, before shattering to bits at the song’s conclusion.
The fragments rebuilt themselves into a blue archway appeared before them, a dark vortex of midnight blue spinning into nothingness.
The Chain looked at each other in shock.
They recognized this.
Even if it was different.
You learned Nayru's Requiem! The power of the Oracle of Ages fills the Wind Waker; you can now travel through time at will.
Risotto Nero - A Price to Pay
{Being the only girl in the Bucci Gang has its perks. Your familia loved you, & were fiercely protective- but what’re they supposed to do when another Capo decides to have you to himself? He’s gotta have you.}
{one way or another.}
_____________________________________
Tumblr media
“Bucciarati were almost to Napoli, should I head straight for the city or the safe house?”
Fugo’s sharp voice woke you from your nap. You & the team have been traveling for days tracking three stand users who’ve been smuggling contraband out of Passioné’s grasp. So far, the trail has led to Napoli- and to make it worse, no one knows what they look like. But luckily, you had the name of the man in charge of the operation.
“Go to the safe house. They’re not going to move anything in broad daylight, & we haven’t been able to stop for an actual break.” Bruno circled the location on Fugo’s map. “We can spare a few hours.”
You looked to your right to see Mista asleep against the window, drool slowly coming out of his mouth. You would’ve laughed if you had any right to, with the glimpse of yourself you caught in the rear view you were surprised no one woke you up with a camera flash.
You stretched your neck side to side, your movements slowly bringing your body back to life. You could hear Giorno, Abbachio, and Narancia gently start stirring to life as Bruno continued to talk about the location, not being able to keep in their loud ass yawns. Well, honestly, that was only Narancia’s problem.
Bruno swiveled the seat to face the back, his perfect black bob not moving an inch while he does it. “Now that we’re in Napoli, it’s time to be debriefed about our current situation. Would one of you please wake Mista?”
Abbachio wasted no time to slap Mista in the back of the head, causing Mista to lurch forward with a yelp. His hand immediately went to the back of his head as he whipped around towards Abbachio. “What the hell, you dumbass!! What was that for??”
“For debriefing you idiot, pay attention.”
You giggled, resulting in a hearty “Shut up!” from Mista. After Bruno’s scolding, he started to explain the facts.
“The intelligence we received stated that the man controlling the contraband operation is a Capo. His name is Risotto Nero, the leader of La Squandra. He’s been known to defy the Familia before, so it’d make sense that he would be the one running this show.”
Bruno’s face slowly grimmed as he continued, pausing after he spoke. “While he is a traitor to the Familia, he is also one of the most powerful Capo’s in the organization. Not just because of his title, but because of his stand.”
The tension grew substantially.
“What’s his stand, Boss? Does anyone have an idea?” Narancias question rung in the air like a bell.
“No. Because no ones lived to tell about it.”
The chill that ran down your spine was unnerving. No one knows what his stand is?? No one has even the slightest idea?? How can that be?
“Boss, how’re we supposed to find this cazzo when all we have to go on is a name?” you ask, “How’re we supposed to defend ourselves against a stand that no one has ever beat?”
“By keeping your stand close. Giorno’s Golden Wind can sense life, and Narancia can track anything that breathes. Abbachio’s Moody Jazz could very well be our ace in the hole, if we can simply find where he’s been- but that’s hard to do when you’re following a ghost.”
God, that wasn’t reassuring.
Soon, Fugo’s road rage landed you at the safe house, a 3 story cabin in the middle of the woods. Mista’s excitement blossomed as soon as he saw the giant flatscreen through the window, everyone else’s did when they finally got to leave the stuffy ass van.
Abbachio helped you out of the car, letting you hang on to his arm until you’ve cracked all the bones you needed to feel relief. “Thank you Abba, I’ve been needing to do that for a while now!”
Abbachio threw you a smirk. “Yeah yeah don’t get gross on me.” He could throw up any facade he wants- you see right through his badass tough guy wall. You gave him a grin back, & grabbed your duffel bag out from under your seat. You looked back to see that the other boys had already made it inside, Bruno & Giorno already setting up the radio & laptops to start working.
Bruno def wasn’t playing around when he was looking for a place to buy. This was the nicest cabin you had ever seen, pure dark wood walls with marble flooring, a grand staircase with a BEAUTIFUL bay window?? Capo DEFINITELY had perks.
***************
[3:33 AM]
You bolted awake as thunder and lightning surrounded your bedroom. Your mind frantic as the open curtains revealed howling winds and light flashing through the skies.
You took some deep breaths and calmed yourself down. It’s only a storm, nothing to- why was your door open?
Adrenaline started to churn in your stomach as you swung your legs over your bed. You stepped carefully towards the hallway, peeking down to see that everyone else’s doors were open too. You tip toed down, peering into Bruno & Abbachio’s rooms, seeing them both empty; and upon further inspection, so were Giorno’s and Mista’s. Narancia and Fugo’s following suit.
Where the fuck is everyone, and why are you not with them?
You back tracked down the hall, your legs shaking as you slowly walked down the stairs.
Were you being attacked?
The lightning lit your path down the stairs as you kept your eyes peeled for anything out of place. As you came down to the first platform, the stench of blood overwhelmed your senses, making your eyes grown wide and your hand go over your mouth and nose. This cannot be real, why is blood in the air??
“You know when I first saw you, I thought you were an angel among the saints & sinners of Napoli.”
Your hand gripped the banister as you stood in defense, looking everywhere for the source of the deep voice. Who was that?? Where the fuck is your team??
“& Then I saw Ghiaccio getting in a fight with another Mafioso. I thought it was just one of Bucciaratis boys, but oh was i so close yet so wrong.”
You slowly made your way down stairs, “I guess your a big fan of mine then, quite a shame I can’t see where you are for such occasion.”
A deep chuckle resonated through the estate. “Our life together will be wonderful, I am very sure.”
“The fuck are you-“
Your stomach dropped.
The blood. The gashes. The gore.
All of the boys were hanging by their hands, bloody chains protruding from their wrists and connecting them to the ceiling. Blood oozed from Fugos mouth, while Narancias unconscious form clearly had a broken nose and extreme loss of blood. They all were simply.. hanging by a thread.
“Jesus fucking Christ.. you’re fuc-fucking kidding..”
Invisible hands hold onto your sides as your body freezes in shock, the pressure and heat of them telling you they were quite large. Your heart beater out of your chest as you felt a muscular set of abs press against your back, those hands weaving over your chest to hold down your arms.
“Do you see, Amore? Do you see how powerful I am compared to them?” Your eyes tore away from the bloodied boys, closing them as tightly as you could. “When I saw how powerful you were and how you carried yourself, I knew we were soul mates. I had to have you. I had to have your body, your mind,” His hand rubbed gently against your clothes crotch, shooting heated adrenaline to your core, “& your pretty little cunt just full of my kids.”
Your cheeks turned violently red as you staggered to breathe. “Who..are you..”
Lips pressed against your temple as a deep chuckle vibrated your body. “Darling, I’m the whole reason you’re out here.”
Your heart froze.
“Risotto?? It’s you?!”
Suddenly two black clothed muscular arms appeared around you, one of them tilting your chin back to reveal two black and red eyes staring straight at you. “Surprised, Cara?”
You started to panic, the danger of your situation settling in. Bruno, Giorno, all of the boys, were out of action. There was no help for you, and you couldn’t summon your stand like this. Was this simply the end? Was he just saving you for last for his sick fantasy??
“Please.. what do you even want from me??”
Risotto put your hands behind your back and tied them together. “What I’ve wanted since I saw you; a life. With just you & me.” He placed you on a chair, kneeling before you with his hands tracing you and your skin. Your breath hitched as he ran over certain spots, his eyes growing darker and darker the more you react. You had to do something, you couldn’t let your family be killed over someone’s obsession over you.
“I’m going with you whether I like it or not, right?”
Risotto chuckled a humorless laugh. “A smart one! Oh i like that, I like that. Maybe our kids will get that trait.”
Dread sunk in your stomach. There’s no escape, is there?
“If I go with you, willingly with no struggle- will you allow me to use my stand on them so they atleast don’t die of their injuries?”
Risotto stared at you, looking for any sign of betrayal, but he wasn’t gonna find anything. You knew there wasn’t a way out, and you knew you didn’t stand a chance in hell against him. Atleast if you can save the boys, there wouldn’t be any death.
“Fine. But one slip up, Amore, and I’ll make your condition worse than theirs.”
Risotto unbinded your arms, helping you stand up and get your balance again. You walked towards the boys until you were a few meters away from them. You could sense their shallow breathing from your powers, you knew if you were gonna do this you had to act fast.
“Iron Maiden.”
A steam punk victorian girl emerged behind you, wielding a glowing white scythe, its jet black hair flowing behind her.
“Scythes Blessing.”
Iron Maiden hovered to the front of you, your scythe glowing bright white as it swung a mass of energy towards them all. Their wounds mended together, the blood returning to their bodies. After the act was done, the boys passed out on the floor, surely to wake up in a few hours.
“Now, we start our life, my sweet angel.”
Tears silently went down your cheeks as you turned to the beautiful, evil man. His eyes showed a softness towards you as he extended his giant hand. Your dainty one took his, holding it as he led you to the door.
“Where are you taking me?”
Risotto swung open the huge doors to reveal the storm still actively raging, his matte black sports car in the circle drive. “Home, cara. Our home.”
You hurried to get in his front seat, Risotto closing your door and going to the drivers door. He got in, revving the car to life and pulled the car out of the drive way. Risotto placed his hand on your thigh as he took you away from the estate. Your heart hurt for your boys, but this was for the best, right? Atleast this way they’re safe. They’re safe.
“Say your goodbyes Cara. Your life starts over with me.”
“Only me.”
Death Note/GN!Reader — Pick Up Lines
A quick little scenario in which your Death Note sweetheart uses a terrible pick up line on you! I feel as though these all kinda suck since I write this a while ago but it’s fine. It’s fine.
Mello
Staying up late every night and watching security footage was not fairing well for Mello. Dark circles started to form underneath his eyes, and you pointed out that he was turning into L, all he needed was black hair and a haircut. He simply responded “The day I cut my hair short is the day the world ends.”
Usually when Mello got tired he would turn into a grumpy, adorable gremlin but, mixed with the excessive amount of chocolate he consumed due to boredom, he had turned loopy. Matt had relied on his headphones to keep him sane, whereas you were left with no escape from the babbling blond.
Mello rambled on and on about how he was going to beat Near with every fiber of his being, slowly getting sidetracked into a conversation about sheep.
“They’re so fucking fluffy. Standing around, eating grass, taunting me.” The blond mumbled, his head resting on your lap as you stroked his hair, listening with genuine interest.
“Mhmm, how do they taunt you?” you inquired, wanting to know more before your boyfriend fell asleep and you never got to find out why he felt so threatened by white, fluffy animals.
“They just...do  .”
“Well, I’ll always keep you safe from the mean, mean sheep.”
Mello shifted so that he was gazing up at you. He lifted his hand to your face and gently smacked your cheek with his palm, rubbing his tired eyes with the other hand.
“Aw, babe you’re so sweet when you talk like that... You make me melt like chocolate in the summer~ ”
“I do what?”
Before Mello could answer, unconsciousness grasped him and pulled him down into the dimension of sleep. You sighed, disappointed that you wouldn’t get to hear more, yet also relieved that Mello could finally get the sleep that he needed.
“G’night, Mels,” You whispered, brushing his bangs to the side and kissing his forehead, “You make me melt, too.”
Matt
Matt’s been acting strangely clingy all day. As soon as you noticed this fact, you immediately figured that it was an anniversary or either one of your birthdays and it had slipped your mind. However, upon further inspection of your phone calendar, today appeared to be nothing special.
You were seated on the couch, watching a bit of television while Matt washed the dishes. You had insisted that you could handle that task yourself, but the goggle-wearing sweetheart had insisted that you relax.
Suddenly you heard the sink turn off and footsteps lead up to the couch. You turned around to see the redhead wrapping his arms around your shoulders from behind.
“Hey, I lost my phone number...can I have yours? ” He asked with a sly smile.
“Matt, you have my number. Is that a pickup line? You know we’re already dating, right? Is my number not working?” You interrogated, grabbing his phone from the coffee table and calling your cell from it to ensure that your phone number still worked.
“No- it’s... you’re supposed to go along with it!”
“Well, come up with a better one next time, dumb ass,” You tossed Matt’s phone back at him, the device landing in his lap. He pouted and shoved it into his jacket pocket, getting up to return to the kitchen.
“You’re no fun.”
L
The room grew dim and increasingly empty as the hours ran further into the day, eventually turning to night. Despite the signs that you should be on your way home, you stayed with the only detective who thought it appropriate to work into the ungodly hours of the night.
You glanced over at L, back turned to you with his nose practically pressed against the computer screen. You rolled your eyes and switched on the main light of the room, saying, “You’re gonna ruin your eyes reading in the dark like that.”
L did not respond but, at the looks of it, kept on reading the minuscule words on his screen with intent.
“Do you need anything? Water? Maybe some cake?” You asked, giggling at the end of your words for no other reason than the tiredness getting to your brain.
“No, thank you.  I already have you, and you’re sweeter than cake, anyway,” L droned matter of factly, not even tearing his eyes away from the luminescent screen.
“Awww! Oh my god, L!” You squealed, running up to L and enveloping him in a bone-crushing hug.
“Ah...(name), I c-can’t breathe...”
Near
You could practically hear the blood flow to your brain as you spun around in a desk chair at painful hours of the night. The screens that filled the SPK headquarters shone in your eyes, keeping you awake along with the unhealthy amounts of caffeine you had consumed.
Your white haired boyfriend sat crouched on the floor by your feet. The clicking of building blocks rang throughout the otherwise empty room as he stacked them on top of one another, paying no mind to anything else.
You sighed, placing your chin on the palm of your hand and deflating on the spot. No amount of caffeine could keep you here as late as Near always stayed, no matter how much you wanted it to. You hated that he was here alone all the time and, even though he always tried to convince you that he didn’t care, you knew it took a toll on his mental state.
You shifted in your chair, about to heave your body up when Near’s monotonous voice kept you still.
“(Name).”
You waited for him to continue, and spoke up when he stayed silent, “What’s up, babe?”
“Do you like LEGO ?” Near inquired. His eyes finally met yours as he twirled a LEGO piece in between his fingers.
“Uh, I guess—“
“Because I want to build a world with you... ”
You froze, wondering if the caffeine was getting to your head or if Near had actually used a pickup line on you — and a goddamn adorable one at that.
A weak smile tugged at your lips. You slid off the office chair and dropped to your knees on the cold tile beside Near, throwing your arms around the boy without another word.
Though he stiffened at first, Near melted under your embrace. He buried his face into your shoulder and wrapped his noodle arms around your torso. You stayed like this for either a minute, or an hour. It was so quiet that you could hear your hearts beating in sync. Everything was so perfect, so loving, so-
“ARE YOU GUYS STILL HERE!?”
Your heart nearly burst from your chest at the sound of a door banging against metal and the rough tone of Rester calling out to you.
Near grumbled and shoved his face into your neck, trying and failing to escape the booming echo of footsteps that approached your little heap on the floor.
“Yeah,” your voice came out ragged and small, but enough for Rester to hear and follow, “right here.”
“You both look exhausted! Come on, let’s get you to sleep.”
When Near barely moved a muscle, you took it upon yourself to pick up his limp body from the floor bridal style and carry him to bed. Though you almost dropped the poor boy more than once, you’d say you did a fairly good job. And, once you were both snuggled up in bed, you got a good nights rest of a solid three hours of sleep. It was the most Near’s gotten in weeks, so you were not complaining.
Light
Though you were already in a relationship with Light, the cheesy lines and swooning from him never ceased. You wouldn’t have to fend him off with a stick but he loved to be all over you even when he already won you over, and you loved that about him.
This was mainly exhibited when you two were alone together, him finding public displays of affection to be childish and overall unnecessary as everyone you hung around with at school respected your relationship quite nicely.
The two of you were strolling on the sidewalk after a headache inducing day of school. His arm was resting lazily over your neck as you walked while all attention was focused on you and you alone. You ranted about the difficulties of the day and, although they were mostly all minor inconveniences, they really got under your skin once all added up.
When you had finished, you huffed and rubbed at your temple.
Breaking the silence that followed, Light blurted,  “How would you like to be the goddess of the new world?  You wouldn’t have to deal with that crap anymore.”
You laughed, reaching up to lace your fingers with the hand that dangled by your shoulder. “Dude, I barely know what taxes are. I don’t think I can handle being a goddess.”
“Aw, that’s a shame,” Light pouted jokingly.
The two of you came to a stop in front of his house, him pulling you flush against him and just staring wistfully (up/down) at you. “Do you want to come in? I’m sure Sayu will be delighted to see you.”
“Oh, I’d love to but I don’t want to intrude—“
“Nonsense. Come on.”
And so, Light guided you into his home, his mother and Sayu cheerfully greeting you at the door and whisking you away into a night of wonderful conversation and a lovely dinner.
Matsuda
You took advantage of the daylight, working nonstop so that you wouldn’t have to stay after hours to get your unfinished work done.
Through your tireless efforts, you failed to notice a pair of familiar eyes glancing back at you every so often. You only noticed a change in your boyfriend’s behavior when he came rolling up to your desk in his wheely chair, resting his chin on his elbows and looking at you expectantly.
“Hey, what’s up, Teddy Bear?” You greeted, barely tearing your eyes from the papers splayed out all across your desk.
Matsuda grinned from ear to ear every time he heard that nickname. It made him feel wanted and loved whenever he was around you. Sometimes, this caused the filter between his brain and his mouth to thin, allowing whatever he’s thinking in that moment to slip out.
“Do you have a map? Because I’m getting lost in your eyes... ” he said dreamily.
Your head shot up in an instant, puzzled by the seemingly random affection, only to see Matsuda covering his lips as a dark blush began to rise on his cheeks and the tips of his ears. “Th-that’s not...I-“
“Honey...” you shook your head and sighed, placing your pen down flat on the desk, “That is the literal worst line ever but it sounds wonderful coming from you.”
“O-oh. Thanks?” He chuckled nervously, massaging the back of his neck as his skin became slick with sweat.
You leaned over the desk and pecked his lips before collecting your paperwork in a neat stack, placing it all carefully in your shoulder bag, careful not to bend any corners. “Why don’t I finish my work in that nice little coffee shop across the street. Join me?”
“Y-yes! I’d love to. It’s getting a little stuffy in here, anyway.”
Misa
“Ughhhhh I’m so tired! What a day!” Misa exclaimed, stretching out her arms above her head as she walked over to her folding chair. The white, feathery wings fastened to her back smacked people and equipment as she passed them, but you saw her as nothing but elegant.
Your girlfriend plopped her butt down into the fragile chair, giving Matsuda a scare when it nearly toppled over. With beads of sweat trickling down his forehead, he handed the girl her coffee.
“Aw, thanks, Matsu! And you too, (Name)! I wouldn’t be able to do any of my scenes without you guys cheering me on!”
You chuckled, cheeks turning a dusted shade of pink at Misa’s praise. “Dont give us all the credit, babe. You’re the one giving your all up there.”
Misa twisted in her chair to grab at your hand and intertwine her fingers with yours. “You’re too sweet, honey! Y’know, if it were up to me, you’d be the one wearing these wings!”
“Oh, I don’t know, I couldn’t take your place!” You said, gesturing to the fountain where Misa’s scene had just been filmed.
The blonde giggled and brought your fingers to her lips, giving them a couple kisses before shaking her head. “I meant I’d have you in these wings because you’re an absolute Angel , silly!”
Before you could even begin to respond, Matsuda beat you to it. “Aww my gosh, you guys! Could I be the best man at your wedding?”
“Hmm...” you pretended to ponder while tapping your chin with your index finger. “How do you feel about being the flower boy?”
“Done!”
Shy: Platonic! Bad Batch x Fem! Reader PART 2
-requested part two by someone on my Wattpad!
-happyily writing it, especially since I'm motivated! (finished 7 April, 2021)
-I write for females, but you can change the pronouns in your head if you really wish to (I’m sorry, but I’m more comfortable with writing for females, I hope you understand!)
-i got carried away and wrote 7k words. this is the longest thing I’ve written in my life no joke
PART ONE is here, but this can be read as a stand alone
WARNINGS: Self-worth issues, slavery mentions (cuz you’re anakin’s sister), violence (kinda no brainer)
Summary: The mission is easy. The only issue is you.
Tumblr media
Remote. That was the first word that came to mind as soon as Havoc Marauder landed. Hunter was the first first set foot on the planet, then Wrecker, Tech, and Crosshair I'm the back.
The moment your fit hit the ground, an overwhelming sense of life hit your senses. A thick forest separated you and civilization. In it, you sensed all kinds of creatures, none you know the names of.. The grass, so green and full lit up your eyes while the crisp air hitting your nose refreshed your senses. This was a beautiful planet. Fresh. Full. Lively.
It would be a shame to ruin it.
"Lovely, isn't it?" commented Tech with a warm smile. You shyly mirrored it and kept a gaze focused on the horizon. It was hard to make eye contact with him, especially since Crosshair glared daggers in the back of your head.
He adjusted his grip on a rifle, disdain pulling at the corners of his lips. "Keep your heads out of the clouds. We still have a mission to do." You firmly nodded in agreement. "Right."
Wrecker pounded his fist against his palm. He offered a bright grin, one that went unappreciated by Crosshair. You came to like Wrecker for his open heart, a trait you lacked for years. "Don't mind him General,” Wrecker reassured, “he's just a stick in the mud. If it makes you feel better, that's the first time we haven't been gunned down with an outsider!"
‘Outsider’. What a way to describe you.
Hunter took quick notice of your shifting gaze. Maybe it was the fact he was hyper-aware of his surroundings, or perhaps you were too obvious with pursing your lips into a tight smile. Whatever the reason, Hunter's subtle nod your way made you glad he was around. "What he means,” Hunter clarified, “is that we don't usually have smooth landings when others are with us."
"We'll have plenty of downtime once we infiltrate that Seppy base and leave." Wrecker added. "That's something I'm looking forward to!" You hoped that were true. If this didn't go as planned, you'd have more to worry about than just the Separatists.
"Let's get a move on." Hunter announced. The Bad Batch collectively pulled down their helmets, motioning with their hands and fanning out. You followed, in the back of course. Right where you belonged.
This was still their mission. You were only assigned here because it was convenient. Having been recently Knighted meant you needed something to get you started, but you never expected anything like this. It was odd. Why the Bad Batch? Why not a mission with Obi-wan?
Tech tapped a few buttons on his forearm. "The base is up ahead." You heaved in a rating breath.
Focus. Focus.
A prick came from your chest. It wasn't warm like when you were around Cody, but it wasn't cold either. Rather...lifeless, and...
SNAP!
You drew your lightsaber, swiftly thumbing it on and spinning to your flank. With three strokes, you cut the heads off four commandos in a perfect one-eighty degree line. They fell to your feet, sparking and crackling with whatever electricity they had left.
"'Wow." breathed Tech. "That was incredible."
Your heart pounded, and the blood roared in your ears. That was close. Too close. You never liked being caught off guard, especially when out on a mission. If Master Obi-wan were here, he’d tell you to relax and take a deep breath, but it was hard when you didn’t have Cody by your side, or Waxer and Boil who teased and joked with you.
Wrecker nodded at the scraps in approval. "You're crazy fast! Even I can't move that quickly--and that's saying a lot coming from me." A short sigh left your lips as you awkwardly met his gaze. "'Thanks," a pause, "I suppose." Hunter shared a brief look with Crosshair you didn't miss. A faint sense of relief flowed through them, as if they were glad you were here.
But then another emotion rose in them. Worry. Why were they worried? Was it that you hadn't paid enough attention to their flank? Or did you say something earlier to offend them?
"Let's get a move on." Crosshair muttered.
And so the fight began. You didn't like it--any of it. There was something strange about the small base, dark even. It lurked between the walls, in the air, and in every droid you sliced and diced. Perhaps it was the fact that this all felt too easy, or that Hunter's energy felt...unstable.
As if he were focusing on something far away.
The sizzle of a blaster bolt brought you back to the present. Wrecker kicked over a lone droid, grinning to himself in satisfaction. "And that's the last one. Is there anything else?"
You thought back to Cody and what he reminded you of before you left.
This is strictly a retrieval operation.
Tech pulled his data pad from a wire. “Data’s all here, downloaded and ready for our use.” He turned to Hunter with a nod, who mimicked the action and motioned for everyone to get moving.
The information doesn't seem valuable to the Seppies, so I doubt you'll run into trouble.
Crosshair made his way to the door. You tapped a finger on the edge of the holoprojector. It sat smack in the middle of the room, so you got a good look of a couple maps. They weren’t anything special.
Even then, keep your wits.
You squinted at a few words glaring across the screen. It wasn’t interesting, just a plain report from about an hour ago.
I'll be fine Cody. It's not like this is the first time I've done something like this.
Crosshair paused in his step and turned to face you. His dark eyes bore into you. "What's the issue?"
But you won't have me by your side.
Your gaze didn’t leave the report as you anxiously basked in the quiet of the Separatist base. A word stood out to you in the report, something that you wished you had seen earlier.
What could go wrong Cody?
You re-read the word, over and over again until your blood froze and your head spun.
Everything.
A single, fluid action was all you could muster. There wasn't enough time to pull out your lightsaber, or scream 'SNIPERS!' at the top of your lungs. If you didn't move, then you would die.
The glass shattered with a bang, and every fibre in your body screamed for movement, speed, life. You threw out a hand, willing the Force to stop the lone laser bolt. It hissed in the air, whining and crackling from its frozen spot.
How did you miss this minuscule detail? It was so simple, because of course the enemy needed insurance. Of course they would have known you were coming. As soon as you landed, you played right into the enemy’s hands.
With a tight frown, you sent the bolt back where it came from. You didn't need the Force to know it had hit its target. "Bounty hunters.” Your voice came out stiff and scratchy. “We have to leave."
With a swift swipe of your hand, the base's doors opened. "I'm assuming they have us surrounded. If I'm right, there's a high chance there won’t be any room for negotiations."
"The only negotiations they're getting is one with my fists!" exclaimed Wrecker. His jokes were terrible, and it seemed you weren’t the only one staring at him in disdain. You passed through the quiet halls, hoping over an occasional pile of scraps every now and then.
A prick in the back of your neck caused you to freeze. It wasn’t lifeless like the droids, but focused and angry. That was when a shiver ran down your spine, and you faltered in your step.
Hunter planted a firm hand on your shoulder to keep you steady. You didn’t have time to explain, or run for that matter, because the moment you spun around, you came face to face with a familiar red-faced Sith. He growled, displaying a set of crooked teeth. “If it isn’t (Y/n) Skywalker, Kenobi’s little pet.”
“If it isn’t Maul in need of a long awaited appointment to the dentist.” you shot back. The Bad Batch stirred behind you, raising their weapons and aiming straight for Maul. He lifted a hand, and with a single wave, the Bad Batch flew to the end of the hall. You glanced back at them, back straight and tall. They weren't Maul's target--he wouldn't waste his time on them.
“All of you get a move on,” you firmly called. “I’ll catch up later, understood?”
Hunter's gaze focused on the fierce fire in your eyes. It glowed like a setting sun, sparking like the tethered wires at his feet. When had your shoulders looked so broad? When had you stood so tall with your head high and your chin up to the sky?
This girl--no, this Jedi--wasn't the same person he first met in the hanger. She clung close to Cody's side at the time, heart ramming against her chest like a drum. In the moment, Hunter didn't have to be a Jedi to know (Y/n) was worried, not about the mission, but about what him and his brothers would think of her. It was difficult to talk at first, and opening up to strike a conversation seemed so out of line until Wrecker broke the ice.
Now? (Y/n)'s chest didn't cave in. She tightly gripped her lightsaber with eyes that stared straight through him.
"Hunter, we can join General Skywalker in the west hall." Tech stated.
"Alright," he firmly replied. "Get a move on." Tech nodded and tapped a few buttons on his wrist. "General Skywalker, keep your comlink on! We will relay information and update our status!"
"Copy that, Tech!" you called back.
The Bad Batch disappeared down the hall, leaving an odd silence in their wake. You adjusted your grip on your lightsaber, heaving a tight sigh.
“Well?” Your voice echoed in the long hall. “Here to capture me?” Maul let out a low chuckle that sent shivers down your spine. "Capture?" he echoed. "There's no reward in a mere kidnapping. It'll have to be something far, far worse." He paused dramatically. "Enough to make Kenobi suffer."
That last part irked you in the wrong way. Your chest burned, it boiled, and it bubbled like a vat of lava. This wasn't the first time you faced Maul, yet you couldn't help feeling nervous. On any previous day, Master Kenobi would stick right by your side, along with Cody and the 212th. They always had your back, and so did Anakin, who never was far behind.
The face of your brother flashed in your mind. He would have attacked by now, probably with some crazy plan, and escaped with both Ahsoka and all his men. He was incredible like that. God-like even.
But you? What did you have besides the amount of droids severed by your blade?
Maul raised a brow curiously. He eased forward, closing the vast distance between you in a mere five steps. "I sense your unease...your feelings of inferiority." He held out a hand, and for a second, he looked completely harmless. "You are afraid you'll never amount to your brother, Anakin Skywalker."
This wasn't the time to listen to Maul's monologuing, yet you couldn't find it within yourself to strike first. He wasn't doing you harm, and as long as the Bad Batch got away with the information, it shouldn't matter anyway. You weren't important. You weren't needed. If it were Anakin, The Chosen One, then you'd have to have all of the GAR search for him.
You were just you. A lucky girl who turned out to have a knack for dueling and surviving on the battlefield.
"Come now, why don't we reach a common ground?" Maul tightly drawled. "You know you are skilled, yet it's as though you refuse to acknowledge it because of your brother." He circled around you like a shark, eyeing your expressions, listening to your movements, and dissecting your actions one by one.
"Prove to him you are better." She will make a wonderful tool. "Show them you are worth something before you are cast aside! Thrown away out of fear!" Having her by my side will make Kenobi suffer. "Join me. You will amount to something they cannot talk down upon, and you will--!"
"Become your minion? Your puppet?" A cruel laugh ran past your lips that surprised even you. "Sorry, but I have people relying on me." You imaged the look of absolute betrayal on Cody's face, the sorrow on Master Kenobi's, the tears in Ahsoka’s eyes, and the anger on Anakin's face. No matter what you felt, you understood that it wasn't something reciprocated.
Your family loved you. They would never cast you aside.
The thought brought your bubbling anger to a cease, bringing with it peace and hope. It settled in your chest, warm and welcoming. You clung onto that feeling, channeling it into your very bones.You swung your saber. Right, left, right, right.
Maul dodged by a mere centimeter. He let out a growl and stumbled back.
"Why are you here?" You calmly inquired. "It's obvious not even the Sith want you, so it's not like you were sent here." Maul gritted his teeth. "Why are you alone? Are you not Kenobi’s padawan?"
A tight frown emerged on your lips. It didn’t go unnoticed by Maul. "I’m not a padawan anymore. I’m a Jedi Knight." You swung your blade and Maul thumbed on his own. At the last second, centimeters before your blade grazed his arm, he blocked. The red and (colour) sabers clashed, hissing and sizzling under the pressure.
"A Jedi Knight? I see your Order is becoming more desperate for child-soldiers." Maul seethed. You kicked him in the torso, then faked a punch and uppercutted him in the jaw. “I earned the title, and I’m not a child!”
"Perhaps to your Order,” Maul replied, “but to Kenobi...”
You threw out a hand. Maul mimicked the action, and you found yourself in a stalemate of Force-pushing. Maul’s anger, his hatred and resentment were strong. They burned fiercely, but not like your determination. You didn’t want to kill Maul, but you certainly didn’t want him to escape.
“Give up Skywalker, you can’t win.”
You flew back all the way to the end of the hall. The air knocked out of your lungs as Maul threw you down. Once. Twice. Three times. Your vision danced with spots, and the sore taste of iron spread across your taste buds.
This wasn’t it though. You wouldn’t let him get by. Not until the Bad Batch got out with the information. It didn’t matter what happened to you--the Republic needed whatever was on that datapad.
Clearly Maul didn’t care for the Bad Batch, but that didn’t mean their safety was ensured. Until then, you would hold out.
“Such a shame,” Maul drawled, “all this potential wasted.” You coughed, fingers shaking against the hold of your lightsaber. It was a miracle you held on to it. “I...can’t let you past me.”
A sharp inhale, then the slow, light footsteps of Maul. He glared down at you. “That isn’t my plan.” He threw out a hand again, but at the last second, you thumbed on your lightsaber and swung with all your strength.
He blocked. Your arms shook from the stress of the force and your body screamed out for you to give up. But you couldn’t. Not like this.
Maul kicked you and you went flying into the wall. He threw out a hand, curling it into a tight fist. “I would kill a pest like you,” he curled his fist tighter, “but then I wouldn’t be able to see Kenobi’s face wither with pain.” You gasped for air, clawing at your neck as you blindly waved around your blade.
Spots dance in your vision. Pain seemed like a distant memory. Then, moments before you could pass out, Maul threw you on the ground. You dragged yourself off the ground, wheezing and coughing. Maul took a step forward. He swung his blade, grazing your arm just by a bit.
You chocked back a string of tears and jumped to your feet. With whatever strength you could muster, you slammed a fist into his gut. He coughed, doubling over as you sprinted towards the west hall.
Blood roared in your ears, and the frantic wheezing you called breathing seemed to echo in the halls. You weakly lifted your free arm towards your lips. “We...need to get out of here--ASAP! Is the...the ship ready?”
“Yes,” replied Hunter. “Tech is there right now.”
You heaved out a breathy sigh of relief and wiped a trail of blood away. “Good...good. Where are...you all right now?”
“West hall. We see you coming.”
A familiar group of boys peeked out from behind a sharp corner.
“General, is Maul behind you?”
His light footsteps seemed to harden as he turned a sharp corner. You didn’t dare look over your shoulder in fear it would encourage you to give up. But Maul knew you were on your last legs. When you tripped up, he would cut you down. Slowly. Painfully.
“Yes.”
“Good. Keep running, faster if you can.”
You gritted your teeth, forcing your legs to close the gap separating you and the Bad Batch. Everything burned, from your legs to your chest and every fibre in your body. If it weren’t for the fact that impending doom followed behind, you would have dropped dead ages ago. Hunter motioned for you to follow him around the bend of the hall. Just as you did, a large ‘BOOM!’ sounded behind. It followed, continuing down the other halls right where Maul stood.
Shrapnel, ash, and embers rose in the air, obscuring your view in clouds of smoke. Hunter hurriedly wrapped a hand around your arm and pulled you out of the way of a flaming piece of drywall. “T-thanks.”
“Don’t mention it.”
He didn’t let go of you until you emerged into the last rays of sun. You coughed into your arm, wheezing as the fresh air finally hit your lungs. You doubled over in pain, squeezing your eyes tight.
Endure. Endure. Endure.
I’m not weak.
A familiar sense of worry passed over the group. You hauled your numb limbs up and ignored their stares.
Just as you took a step forward, the galaxy spun with dots and blanched colours you couldn’t describe. You stumbled with a gasp, the tight grip on your lightsaber coming loose. It fell in a patch of trampled grass. You were about to join it, but Crosshair hooked an arm around your waist to help you stand. He was stronger than he looked. “Come on,” he calmly said, “let’s get out of this dump.”
Wrecker picked up your lightsaber and handed it to you. “Wouldn’t want to lose this, right?” You almost smiled. “Thanks Wrecker.”
You don’t recall passing out on the way to the Havoc Marauder, or falling asleep against Wrecker’s shoulder. The low hum of Hyperspace jolts you awake. Your eyes snap open, and it takes all your willpower not to pass out again as you sit up. If you were to get stoned alive in a ditch somewhere, you were sure this was how it felt.
With careful eyes, you surveyed the room. It was dimly lit, with the lights on low and the door firmly shut. The warm bed lowly creaked when you moved. To the walls sat nothing but a desk, chair, and a few fimsies taped to the wall. The sheets smelled familiar, like grass and leaves and dirt all mixed into one.
You made a move to stand up. The doors whooshed open and the sight of the boys made you pause.
“How are you feeling?” Hunter gently inquired.
When you first met the Bad Batch, you thought they wouldn’t like you one bit. You assumed the mission would be absolutely unbearable, not just because you were a terrible Jedi, but because you’d make the mission go south. Surprisingly, you weren’t wrong about the last part, but the former?
You got it all wrong. The Bad Batch were kind, caring individuals. They were smart, funny in their own ways, and interestingly enough, comforting. They were nice people, and you barged in on their mission, stole their thunder and somehow entangled yourself in Maul’s petty affairs. Again.
They were too nice. You didn’t deserve that.
The shared look everyone carried in everyone’s eyes made your chest fill with guilt. "I’m sorry.” you quietly announced. A deafening silence filled the room that made your ears ring. “I ruined the mission for you guys, and now you’re going to have to bring me back to Coruscant because I’m hurt. I guess you won’t be getting any downtime because of me.” You placed a hand to your head, where a bandage sat, tightly wrapped around your head.
Tech stared at you in bewilderment. He couldn’t understand why you were so adamant on proving yourself as anything but a burden. They were special, but not that special. You were a Jedi Knight, for the sake of the stars! It wasn’t like you weren’t assigned to this mission without reason.
“You don’t have anything to be sorry about.” Tech firmly said, stepping into the room. “There was no possible way any of us could have prepared for something as unexpected as that.” He pulled out his datapad and smiled. “Because of you, we escaped with both our lives and this.”
“Tech’s right.” Wrecker agreed. “You did a great job anyway. Back there, when those commandos came out of nowhere, you took them down. We would have seen them sooner or later, but that would have helped the enemy discover us!”
You folded your hands together on your lap with a frown. “What about those snipers?”
Crosshair yanked his toothpick out of his mouth. “Takes a sniper to know a sniper.” You nodded in understanding. “I see, so you took them out...”
Tech knitted his brows together. He waited for you to say something more, but when you didn’t, he realised it was because you thought your time to speak was up. “If you have more to say, that’s okay.” he said.
“I...about Maul...” You trailed off and wrapped an arm around yourself. It was a simple act, but spoke volumes. You were worried. Afraid. And worst of all, you felt alone. Just as quick as that vulnerability made itself apparent, it disappeared. “None of you are hurt, right?”
There was a collective reply of ‘no sirs’ from the boys. You nodded to yourself. “Good.” You were about to stand, but Tech came rushing forward. “With all due respect,” he pushed you back down, “you have to rest.”
“I’m not hurt.”
“You have a concussion.” Tech clarified. “Not to mention a few--”
A loud sigh passed your lips as your shoulders slumped dramatically. “Cody’s gonna kill me.” The mood shifted. It raised in amusement, surprise, and curiosity. The boys wondered how you and Cody could be so close when you were so different. A Jedi and a clone? Who could see that coming?
You made a move to pull out your holoprojector, but just as you sat up a little straighter, your head pounded again, and your sore limbs ached. “You can comm him later, General.” Crosshair firmly said. “It’s better you rest.”
And so you did. You laid there in that warm bed by yourself, tossing and turning in the dim lights. You wondered what the Bad Batch were doing in the common room. Gossiping? Complaining about your incompetence? Deep down, you knew they didn’t blame you for anything, yet the swirling emotions of guilt and worry clawed at your insides.
You tossed around again, this time more roughly than the last. If Hunter’s ears were as good as back in the hanger, then he probably heard you more than you’d like to acknowledge.
You weren’t sure how long you lay there. An hour? Two? Three? How far was Coruscant again? You couldn’t recall. Everything was a hazy blur of colours, faces, and voices. A loud sigh escaped your lips. You slowly sat up, wincing every now and then as you pulled out your holoprojector.
The familiar, blue projection lit up. You placed the holoprojector on the floor. “Hi Cody.” He practically ripped off his helmet. “What happened to you Com--General?” You sighed for what had to be the hundredth time that day. “Maul happened, that’s what.”
“And you fought him. Alone. Why am I not surprised?” Despite the dead-panned way he spoke, you sensed his growing worry. “Comman--General, it’s not that I doubt your abilities, it’s just that you could have gotten seriously hurt.” You snorted. “You’re starting to sound like Master Obi-wan now.”
“Did someone say my name?”
A loud groan escaped your lips. You suddenly regretted ever comming Cody, much less thinking he wouldn’t chew you out. The only thing that could make it worse was the presence of--
“Hey (Y/n)!”
You held back a scowl. “Ani, hi. How do you do, or rather, what are you doing?” You spoke between gritted teeth, and it didn’t take a genius to guess why. Anakin sheepishly shrugged. “We had another mission, nothing too bad. Congrats on being knighted.”
“Thanks...again.”
Anakin sent you a big thumbs-up before disappearing out of range. Ahsoka jumped up on screen, waving excitedly as you offered a smile back. “Hello to you too, Ahsoka.” She waved one last time before disappearing like Anakin.
Cody turned to look at you again, this time with softer eyes. “I’m glad you’re alright. A run-in with Maul could have been gruesome.”
Obi-wan blinked. He stood still for a moment, turning from you, to Cody, and then back to you. “Maul confronted you?” he inquired. You nodded. “Yes, but I’m alright. Nothing a bit of bacta can’t fix.”
“Did he try anything?” Obi-wan thoughtfully added. You thought back to the encounter. Maul had beaten you to a pulp, even when you did your best to fight against him. It was only by chance that you escaped. You were no match for him.
A plastic smile rose on your lips. “Besides the usual threats, nothing, Master.” If Obi-wan were here, he would have said more, but the look on your face must have been too fake because he went silent. “Our mission is finished here. When you get back, I’ll personally see to it that I bring you to the medbay.”
“I’m fine Master, it’s just--”
“I’ll leave you to it.” Obi-wan cut in. He respectfully nodded your way and disappeared out of sight. You helplessly looked at Cody. “Obi-wan’s going to give me a long lecture.” He nodded in agreement. “But it’s because he cares. It’s a good thing too because I believe you need it.”
You raised a brow. “What? Why?” Cody gave you a pointed look. He heaved in a deep breath and said in a high-pitched voice, “‘If they’re as good as I’ve heard, I’ll only be extra luggage’.” You folded your arms with a pout. The fact that he kept a straight face made it worse than it had to be. It wasn’t everyday Cody teased you like this, so you must have really irritated him.
“I’m lucky you’re not reckless like your brother, but sometimes, I can’t say you’re any different.”
“Why’s that Cody?”
“When you want to do something, you’ll do it regardless of the consequences.” He shook his head tiredly. “You wanted to complete this mission, so you risked fighting Maul alone so the Bad Batch wouldn’t get hurt. I’m not surprised, but I’m not happy either.”
“It’s not wrong to want to protect others...” you mumbled. Cody nodded in agreement. “That’s why I’m angry at Maul.”
You blinked, holding fast to his words.
“Look what he did to you (Y/n). Stars, how did you get out of there?” You folded your hands together. “The boys,” you answered. “They set up some explosives while I distracted Maul.”
It went quiet for a few moments, save for the sounds of gunships and fighters preparing for liftoff. “You know,” you began. “You were right Cody.” He knitted his brows together. “About what?”
“The Bad Batch. They’re wonderful boys. I...I guess I was worried over nothing, but I can’t help thinking...thinking that...” You trailed off with a shake of your head. “Never mind. Go catch up to them, before they leave without you.” A subtle smile lifted onto your lips, prompting Cody to go. “May the Force be with you, Cody.”
The hologram disappeared, that soft blue light vanishing. You stuffed the holoprojector into your pocket with a frown. “Gosh dang it Cody.” you grumbled. “Actually making me feel sorry for feeling like this.” The strong urge to cry suddenly bubbled up in your chest. But why? What did you have to be a big baby over?
You sharply inhaled, forced the tears back, and weakly punched the stiff mattress. That didn’t make you feel better though. In fact you felt sick again. Your head spun and you stumbled over your own feet. “Force...” Anger poked at your wounded heart. You didn’t want to be angry, but it was like a wave--it wouldn’t stop, relentlessly flowing until it crashed down on you.
“Why are you so weak...?” you whispered. “Stop...crying...” The tears wouldn’t stop, and neither would the aching in your heart. Maybe this was the reason you were so shy. If you showed your true colours and all the sides you reserved for a select few, then they’d know how weak you were. Underneath, you were pathetic.
Absolutely pathetic.
“Wait--you two--no!”
The door swished open. You stared at Wrecker and Tech, wide-eyed as tears trailed down your face. Hunter stood behind them, a hand over his face to cover his flustered frown. Crosshair walked out from down the hall. He stared at the awkward scene, gaze bouncing from you, to his brothers, and then back to you again.
“Oh...”
“Uh...”
Hunter apologetically met your teary gaze. “We didn’t mean to disturb you, General.” You sniffled with a shake of your head. You wanted to say ‘it’s okay’, but if you talked, then you’d start balling on the spot. Tech awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. “We’ll just go. Sorry, General.”
“W-wait.”
They paused to meet your eye. You heaved in a shaky breath, steeling your nerves. “Th-thank you...” A tears escaped your eye. “For everything.” For a moment, everyone basked in the silence, only caring to listen to your soft sniffles and the low hum of the ship.
A bright smile burst onto Wrecker’s lips. “I wouldn’t have seen that great explosion if you didn’t distract that guy long enough.” He heartily laughed and you stared at him, star-struck. The emotions he omitted: happiness, joy, relief. He was just glad you all made it out there, along with the fact that you woke up alright.
Tech mimicked Wrecker’s smile in a mellow version of his own. “Excuse me for being so direct, but I’ve found that you don’t credit yourself enough, General. Your opponent was no ordinary being. Maul--a former Sith Lord--isn’t someone you would fight for the fun of it.” A laugh of agreement came from Wrecker. “Tech’s right.”
“Finally about something worth our interest,” Crosshair piped up. He strode down the hall, stopping at the threshold of the room. The straight look on his face could have been intimidating, if it weren’t for the fact that you sensed the kind emotions in his heart.
He was like you, except colder, and much more battle-hardened.
“See that?” Crosshair grumbled. “You already know what I’m going to say. I don’t usually give out compliments, but you’re different. Strong. It doesn’t make sense why you’re shy all the time when you can trash-talk a former Sith Lord without hiding behind someone’s back.”
General Skywalker, keep your comlink on! We will relay information and update our status!
You felt exposed. They heard everything. From Maul’s monologuing to his reveal of your darkest secrets, your feelings of inferiority. Why were they talking so kindly to you despite that? A Jedi Knight wasn’t supposed to be insecure about themself, much less doubtful of their own abilities.
You heaved in a deep sigh, taking in the scents of grass and trees and dirt. It reminded you of someone. The same energy that wordlessly put you at ease, the same energy that laid quiet, yet so full of life that it was too hard to ignore.
This was Hunter’s room.
He met your eyes and it took you back to when you were a child. Anakin was a few years older than you, so he always took it upon himself to take care of you with as much love as possible. It was how your mum raised you, to care for each other through thick and thin. When he made fun of you for something stupid and hurt your feelings, he’d give you the same look as Hunter’s.
The one with soft eyes that spoke more than words. A silent ‘I’m here’ and a quiet ‘it’s okay. That was right. Hunter’s eyes were like those of an elder brother.
“What makes you so insecure?” His soft voice jolted you out of your thoughts You shuffled as best as you could on the bed, fiddling with the bandages wrapped around you aching fingers. “A lot makes me insecure, really.” you quietly replied. “A lot comes from the fact that I feel out of place.”
No one expected an honest answer, and maybe that was because they were engineered to think Jedi were invincible. God-like even without a care in the world. But you? You were only human. Just like them. Not merchandise, not a soldier, not anything but yourself.
Just like them.
Crosshair adjusted his footing and leaned against the threshold. A tight-lipped frown found its way onto his lips. He didn’t want to speak in fear of scaring you back into your shell. He wasn’t as warm as Tech, he couldn’t make you laugh like Wrecker, and he certainly wasn’t a big-brother-type like Hunter.
But when you met his gaze with doe-like eyes, the words left his mouth before he could stop them. “Kid,” he began. “I get it. We all do. Growing up, we weren’t seen in the same light as everyone else. We were experimental. Lab rats for those long-neck Kaminoans.” He turned the toothpick between his fingers thoughtfully. “What about you? Who made you feel like you didn’t belong?”
“Everyone.” You sniffled. “I haven’t told anyone this besides Cody. Master Obi-wan knows, but that’s only because he was there. He rescued us with his Master.” You paused and everyone listened with batted breath. It wasn’t everyday a Jedi told their life story.
“I was a slave on Tattooine. Simple as that. Anakin was seen as a more valuable candidate because he had more skills than me. He could fix nearly anything, he also knew a bunch of different things, and he helped win our freedom in a bet. If i were in his shoes, I wouldn’t have been able to do that.”
A bitter laugh escaped your lips.
“When we got to the Temple, I didn’t do as well as Anakin. He learned faster and Master Qui-gon, the one who found us on Tattooine, paid more attention to him. Master Obi-wan noticed that. He promised to teach me when he was old enough, but that changed. Master Qui-gon died and he made Obi-wan promise to train Anakin. I was passed along different masters after. Some hated me and others thought I wasn’t ready to be a padawan, so they sent me back to the temple.”
Your heart clenched. The memories you tried so hard to suppress flashed before your eyes, reminding you, forcing you, to remember every failure you faced. “‘You’re not good enough’. ‘How are you even a Jedi?’. I was bullied, so I worked hard, but when I got to where I wanted to be, I felt so worthless because...” You heaved out a rattling sigh. “...I don’t know. I suppose I listened too much to everyone, and it all...got to my head.”
The room swirled, mixing all the emotions of the boys into an unreadable concoction. You buried your face in your hands. It was all you could do to hide the tears running down your reddened cheeks.
A strong pair of arms gingerly wrapped around your shoulders. “That’s terrible.” Wrecker tearfully said. “You must’ve felt so alone.” You sniffled and Wrecker only pulled you closer. He was so warm, and it made your chest feel all fuzzy inside. Your mother used to give you hugs just like this. When you felt life was too hard, she’d wrap you close, enveloping you in her arms to block out the cold.
Eventually, Tech joined in, offering the most reassuring smile he could muster. He hugged you a lot like Cody. Short, to the point, and real. When you needed a good reminder that you weren’t alone, Cody offered short hugs just like this. It was clear Tech understood the meaning of ‘actions spoke louder than words’.
“Originally, I thought you were shy because you were in your brother’s shadow. I should have known that it had to be deeper than that.” You shook your head. “It’s not like you could have known Tech.” He pursed his lips together, releasing you to run a hand over his hair. “I’m not very good at understanding everyone’s emotions. They change too much, and there’s rarely any constant to rely on.”
You nodded in agreement. He wasn’t wrong. if you weren’t a Jedi, then you sure as heck wouldn’t understand emotions too well either.
After a few more moments of silence, you recollected yourself. Your breathing steadied a little more and the tears finally came to a stop. Hunter asked Tech to check on the coordinates (”Coruscant shouldn’t be this far.”) and told Wrecker to help.
You stared at Crosshair and Hunter. They eyed you carefully, as if one wrong word would shatter you to bits. But you weren’t fragile, and you most certainly weren’t innocent. Whatever they had to say to you, you’d take it--whatever it was.
“This may not be my place to say this,” Hunter started, “but I feel it’s important.” You nodded in understanding, waiting for him to continue. He eased over to the bed, taking a seat at its edge. Crosshair remained on the door frame.
“Something I learned over time was that fearing what we can’t do holds us back. It makes people feel powerless. You may not be, but in that moment, it feels like it. That’s when it becomes your reality.” He gave your shoulder a good pat and stood. You watched him leave, peering past Crosshair’s shoulders until Hunter was out of sight.
Crosshair stared at the toothpick wedged between his fingers. It was deadly silent, and you were afraid to break it.
“It’s really not any of our places to say osik. Everyone just got too sentimental.” He looked about ready to chuck the toothpick at the wall. “Even me.” He finally turned to meet your gaze. “We all fall, but it’s our choice to get back up.”
---
“I thought she said she was fine.” Cody stated. Obi-wan folded his arms across his chest with a sigh. “It seems trouble follows her wherever she goes.”
“And it looks like she got it from you, General.”
The moment you stepped off the Havoc Marauder was the moment Obi-wan thought he'd get a heart attack. In what galaxy could anyone describe you as clinically sound? Nearly ever inch of your exposed skin lay wrapped away in bandages or bacta patches. You sported a splash of purple bruises across your neck, another bandage around your head, and a nasty looking gash on your arm that couldn't have been from a blaster.
Just what did Maul do to you?
One of the Bad Batch Obi-wan recognized as Crosshair helped you out of the ship. He sensed the immense amount of worry shared among the men, and if Obi-wan didn't know better, he'd think they'd known (Y/n) all their lives.
"You look worse in person." Obi-wan commented. You sluggishly trudged forward, wincing every now and then as Crosshair helps you close the distance. "You're not much to look at either, Master." He nodded to Crosshair with a small thanks and pulled you into his comforting arms. "I'm glad you're doing well, my dear."
You smile, and for the first time in a while, Obi-wan notices that it holds no weight. No setbacks that made his heart clench for you. Your smile was full and bright and everything he dreamed of seeing again on your face.
"Do you think we can arrange something for me to end up with the Bad Batch again?" you inquired. Obi-wan ruffled your hair like he always did, smiling down upon you with eyes that sparkled like the suns of Tattooine.
"Why don't you ask them?"
You turned to the Bad with hopeful eyes. Wrecker didn't hesitate to eagerly nod while Crosshair sent a silent nod. Tech grinned from ear to ear, and Hunter smiled warmly.
"I suppose I can't say no to a majority." Obi-wan stated. "And it's not like the Council knows where to put you."
Wrecker let out a whoop that could have shaken a of Coruscant. "Shh, Wrecker!" cried Tech. "You'll burst Hunter's eardrums!" A small laugh escaped your lips, causing Wrecker to freeze in place. All eyes focused on your smile, and the way you shamelessly held your head up high.
What a beautiful sight.
BONUS:
"I'm still confused how you did that." Rex admitted. "What strings did you pull to get (Y/n) with the Bad Batch?" Cody shrugged and Rex leaned further off his seat in wait. "Well?"
"Let's just say I know a lot of people."
"Did General Kenobi know?"
"Of course he did. Nothing gets past him." Cody relaxed into his chair with a rare smile. "I knew pairing her up with Clone Force 99 would be a good idea. She found herself, and that's all I could've asked for."
A Dream Come True
Tumblr media
Legolas x Reader
Requested: Yes! Anon requested:  Hi there, I love your blog! Can you maybe write something with Legolas and modern!reader? Like what if you got in Middle Earth in some way and Legolas finds you? Bonus points if you get hurt :) Thank you! - 🦁
Warnings: mentioning/description of injuries (You know I had to go for those bonus points!)
A/N: I had so much fun writing this! I might write a sequel if there’s enough interest in it :)
You were falling. Not the feeling you get when you fall in a dream, like it seems that you’re falling. No, actual plummeting towards the ground.
You could feel the wind rushing, making your eyes teary. The ground got closer and closer and you started to panic, swinging your arms in an attempt to slow yourself down. If this was a dream, it was really time to start waking up!
You could see a large forest underneath you with mountains surrounding it and a lake in the far distance. If you weren’t busy falling to your death, you might have appreciated the view. Now you thought about it, you recognized a bit of the environment. It was almost exactly like a part of the map in the fantasy novel you were reading before you went to bed. But that couldn’t be, right?
The trees came closer and closer and you braced yourself for the impact. You fell down from branch to branch, breaking a lot of them in the process. You felt them rip your skin open, covering your body in tiny scratches, tearing your clothes. It did slow down your fall, but when you collided with the forest ground, it still hurt like hell. You weren’t supposed to feel pain in your dreams, right? You thought while you groaned. Maybe this wasn’t a dream after all… but where the hell were you then?
You turned around on your back, and slowly moved both your arms to see the damage. Everything hurt, but nothing seemed broken which was a small miracle. Your arms were covered in small cuts but those would heal in a couple of days. When you tried to stand up, an agonizing pain in your thigh made you fall back on the ground with a scream. Sometime during your fall down the tree, one of its branches had made its way into your thigh. You could see the end sticking out, your shorts already wet with a dark red stain.
“Oh, that’s just fucking perfect,” you sighed.
Now what? You weren't brave enough to try and pull it out. Besides, if it started bleeding like crazy you didn’t have anything on you to try and stop it. You were wearing shorts and a tank top, the same clothes you went to bed in. It’s not like you could tear a piece of fabric out of it, you would have nothing left to cover yourself.
You needed help. And fast, because as if your wound wasn’t enough trouble already, you started to feel lightheaded from the pain and blood loss. There was nothing left to do than crawl over the forest floor, in the hope you would find help soon.
You hadn’t got very far yet when you heard the sound of someone or something approaching and a stench filled your nose. Your first instinct was to hide, but since you weren’t as agile anymore now that you were impaled, you couldn’t do anything but desperately search the ground for something to defend yourself if necessary. After a few seconds, an Orc jumped out of the bushes with a loud gnarl, not trying to be subtle at all.
Wait a minute… an Orc? You recognized the creature from the books and it started to dawn on you that you might be in Middle Earth.
“That seals it,” you thought. “I’m definitely dreaming.”
By now the Orc had noticed you were there and charged at you with his weapon raised. You instinctively threw your arms over your head and hoped you would wake up soon. Usually when you knew you were dreaming, it was a sign you were waking up. Right? So your eyes would open any minute now…
But that didn’t happen and you didn’t feel a blow of the Orc’s weapon either. When you looked up, you saw the Orc on the ground right in front of you with an arrow through his head. Out of the corner of your eye you saw someone approaching you. You noticed the Orc’s weapon beside its body and tried to reach for it, only to be stopped by the tip of a sword pricking your neck. A male voice above you tutted.
“I would not do that if I were you.”
You froze.
“Turn around,” the voice ordered.
You slowly turned around and got in a sitting position, supporting your left leg and suppressing any groans, the sword of the stranger still pressed against your neck.
“Let me see who you are,” he said.
He shifted the sword right under your chin and lifted your head with it, your hair falling backwards revealing your face. Both of your breaths hitched in your throats when you saw each other. You wouldn’t know why he was so shocked to see you - although you could imagine you looked weird in his eyes, with your pj’s torn to shreds - but you felt like you were just struck by lightning.
The Elf before you was breathtakingly beautiful. And exactly the picture you had made in your mind of one of the lead characters of your books. He looked at you, examining your torn clothes before his gaze stopped at your leg.
“You’re hurt,” he gasped. A flash of worry went through his eyes but was quickly replaced with determination.
“Can you walk?”
“Of course, I was only crawling on the floor out of boredom,” you said sarcastically, “No, I can’t walk.”
The Elf chuckled, and finally lowered his sword. “I’ll just have to carry you then,” he suggested. He attached his sword on his back with his bow and crouched down with the intention to lift you up.
“No, no, no, it’s fine,” you hastily protested, trying to stand up on your own, but almost immediately falling down in the process. You would’ve smacked to the ground again if it weren’t for a couple of surprisingly strong arms that went around your waist to steady you.
“I can see that,” he said. “Are you always this stubborn?”
“Only on my good days,” you murmured.
“Look, I can see you want to keep your distance. I understand that. But you can not walk on your own and I am not letting you crawl all the way to my home. Just lay your arm around my shoulders and lean on me okay?” he suggested.
You reluctantly agreed. You knew it was the best option but you still felt a bit anxious being so close to him, remembering all the times you fantasized about his character. You wrapped your arm across his shoulders, and limped along. It hurt like hell, and you felt yourself slowly slipping away. To try and stay awake, you started talking.
“You know, I don’t think it’s such a good idea to take me home with you. How are you so sure that I’m not a bad guy? I could kill you in your sleep.”
That made him bark out a loud laugh. “No offence, but I do not feel threatened by you. At all,” he laughed. “Besides, the same goes for you. How do you know I won’t kill you as soon as we get to my home?”
“I’ll take my chances,” you grinned.
You kept walking for a while, deeper and deeper into the forest. You noticed there was hardly any sunlight left that touched the forest ground. You also felt yourself getting warmer and warmer, drops of sweat dripping down your forehead and you had a hard time focusing, tripping every five minutes. You were almost certain the Elf beside you was carrying your full weight by now. Not that he was affected by it, it didn’t seem to bother him in the slightest.
“We’re almost there, hang on,” he said, noticing you getting quieter and desperate to keep you awake. You didn’t respond, too tired and hardly any strength left. You felt little taps on your cheek.
“Hey come on now, stay awake. Just a few more minutes! What is your name?” he asked.
You blinked a few times, you could see a large building in the distance, almost like a palace. Or so you thought, because everything was so blurry it could have been a McDonald’s and you wouldn’t even recognize it. The Elf shook you when you didn’t answer.
“Yes… I’m still here,” you muttered in response. “My name’s Y/N.”
“Legolas,” the Elf answered back.
You groaned.
“No… Y/N! Y-N,” you repeated.
The palace came closer and closer. Just a few more steps and you could lay down and sleep. Sleep… that sounded pretty good.
“Yes, I know. You already said that. And my name is Legolas.”
“Legolas,” you whispered. “I knew it was you...”
Legolas opened one of the side doors of the palace with a swift kick of his left foot.
“Welcome to my home!”
But you hadn’t heard him, finally slipping into darkness, too exhausted to notice the same strong arms picking you up and carrying you inside.
Y/N blew on her hands, as she slowly lost feeling in the tips of her fingers, she worried that they might freeze to the leather of Zeus’ bridle, if she didn’t keep flexing them. The wind had whipped up, into a swirling twist of cold and ice, as the sun had disappeared over the horizon. Night had fallen; and so, had the temperature. Y/N was just grateful that it had not started raining yet, as Zeus began to sag, as he too, grew weary and tired.
She didn’t know where she was going, but the thick black forest was now surrounding her, she had lost sight of the castle within a few minutes of entering the wood. The sound of men calling for her, had died down and became muffled by the thick layer of leaves.
Pushing on, she finally found a dip in the ground, a small cave hidden beneath the surface level. She nudged Zeus in that direction, the horse exhausted, does as he is told. Then once Y/N dismounts, Zeus’ legs fold as he collapses on the floor, letting out a sigh of relief.
“Sorry about that.” Y/N apologised, scratching behind Zeus’ ears, before she settled against his side, using each other for warmth, “I would start a fire, but going by the wetness of this mud, there isn’t going to be any dry wood. Looks like it’s just going to be me and you.”
~~~~~~
“We need men to head north and south, my brother and I will go southeast, Sam move your men northeast, we don’t know what direction she has gone in, our best bet is to guard the ports and harbours, and keep our men moving.” Bucky demanded, as he pointed at random spots on a map of Kamar-Taj. He was surrounded by a hoard of Generals and Colonels, including Samuel and a few other foot soldiers.
Steve was passing back and forth as he pinched the bridge of his temple, his eyes screwed shut as his breaths were ragged and unsettled.
“Sir, we’ve news from the west, they’ve had word from some villagers that a woman has passed them on a black horse. She was dressed in a brown cloak and didn’t appear to be carrying any luggage.” A messenger breathed heavily, as he seemed dishevelled, his cloak was twisted up around his neck, and his boot laces had become untied and wrapped around his ankles.
Bucky froze when the message was finished, his heart hammering in his chest, as he caught eyes with Steve briefly, who’s own face had dropped, his eyes wide.
“Send men to follow that lead-“
“No.” Steve barked, stopping in his pacing.
The room fell silent, as Steve’s voice had echoed around the hectic room.
“Steve-“
“No, this is our mess, we need to go and find her and bring her home.” Steve growled, his voice wavered slightly, as he chewed on his tongue. His chest was puffed out, his face was drained of colour, his lips chapped and slightly split where he had chewed on any loose skin.
Bucky whispered to his men to carry on with his plan, before he walked to Steve’s side, grabbing his arm and pulling him into a corner.
“You need to keep your shit together. If we break now, then it will only add to the rumours that have already started,” Bucky whispered harshly, “We can’t be seen to be weak. Especially not now.”
“I don’t care what people see me as. We fucked up, Bucky, we should have just told her. She could have handle it, we both know that, she’s stronger than we give her credit for, and now she’s about to land right in the middle of our fucking mess.” Steve huffed, keeping his eyes locked on his brother.
Bucky looked to the floor, sighing loudly, before placing his hands on his hip. Shaking his head lightly, then looking back to the men.
“Get my brother and I a horse, we will leave immediately for the west,” Bucky commanded, there was immediate movement again, as men began to shout to each other, obeying Bucky’s demands, “Sam, come with us, and bring a squad to follow with us.”
“Yes, sir.” Sam nods, before rushing to follow the men, who had gone to get Bucky and Steve’s horses.
“We’ll get her back, Steve, I promise you.” Bucky slapped his hand on his shoulder, and Steve only glared.
“You just better pray we get to her, before they do.”
~~~
Y/N’s teeth chattered angrily against each other, as she curled tighter into Zeus’ side, pulling the thin cloth around her shoulder to try and conserve some kind of warmth.
Zeus had turned his head, so Y/N would be as protected as she could be, from the bite of the cold. Y/N listened contently to the sound of Zeus’ heart, thudding softly in his chest.
“D-do you th-think they-are l-looking f-for me?” Y/N asked the horse, who sighed in response, “I-I doubt i-it. If-f they lo-ved m-me they w-would-nt have d-done i-it.”
Zeus just chuffed softly, and Y/N breathed heavily.
~~~~
“Sires, may I suggest-“
“No, you may not.” Steve chides sharply, before climbing onto the horse, that startled forward, slightly, at the sudden weight, waiting for Bucky to do the same.
“But Sir, if the messenger speaks the truth, her highness may not be far from the border, there might be trouble.” The steward stuttered.
“So what?” Steve’s head whipped to stare at the young-looking army officer, “You suggest that we leave her to die at the hand of those bastards?”
“N-no, no Sir.” The man stuttered, holding his hands up in defence.
“Boy, stop talking, before you say something truly treasonous, get on your horse and then follow your commanders.” Bucky yelled, before digging his heels in, stirring the horse into a sprint, immediately followed by Steve and the rest of the company.
Steve drew level with Bucky, and soon the Princes were galloping into the thick trees in search of their brides.
“What do we do if he finds her first?” Steve panics, Bucky only just hearing what he said through the rush of air that was beating into their faces.
“He won’t.” Bucky denies, not taking his eyes off the path.
“You don’t know that Buck, the scouts said they were closing in on the border. Y/N doesn’t know where she is, and she definitely doesn’t know where she is going.” Steve rambled, his mind racing with different thoughts and scenarios.
“We’ll get to her, Steve. We’ll get there.” Bucky whispered the last part more to himself, as his own kind of reassurance.
~~~~
Y/N jolted awake, as she felt the ground beneath her begin to vibrate, twigs and leaves that lay dying on the floor, jumped to the beat of the soft thuds. It took Y/N a split second to realise what was happening.
The way Zeus began to stress, as he stumbled to his feet, knocking Y/N off balance briefly. Eventually grasping what was going on, she grabbed hold of Zeus’ reins and heaved herself onto his back, kicking her heels in desperately.
“Go Zeus, go!” she yelled, Zeus reared up at the sudden fright and yell, but soon broke into a bolt, as he churned the mud below him, trees whizzing past, as he ploughed through the forest.
“Over there!”
Yelling could be heard from behind her, as Y/N looked over her shoulder, she could see small circles of orange light, that glowed in the gloom of the woods.
Y/N turned back to her path ahead, from what she could make out through the darkness of the trees, it appeared she was approaching a clearing. Spurring Zeus on, she headed for the gap.
Once through, Y/N looked ahead as she realised, she was climbing over a big green hill, Zeus was lagging, as the stallion was running on an empty stomach. Poor thing needed some water, needed some food, but he kept going. He kept going as his mistress commanded.
The shouting was growing louder, as the pack of horses and men appeared to be gaining on her. Y/N recognised the horses leading the charge, and her heart clenched in her chest, as she envisioned the riders on their backs. The feeling of betrayal coursing through her veins.
Zeus was stamping his feet into the ground as he got to the top of the hill, just as the other side was growing visible, Y/N’s blood froze in her veins, her feeling of uncertainty being picked up by Zeus, as he began to waver in his course.
“Y/N! Stop!”
Y/N could hear Bucky’s voice carrying over the air, but she didn’t know what to think or do, as Zeus came to a careering stop, as Y/N heaved the reins, when the other side of the hill was fully visible.
She had ended up in a valley, it made sense to the sudden climb she had to do once she left the forest. In front of her lay an enormous stone wall. Spikes decorated the tops of the turrets; the Kamar-Taj crest branded on the walls.
However, the wall hadn’t been the only reason for why Y/N had stopped. The hills laying over the wall, were speckled with small dots of light. The lights were surrounded by darker objects, and white squares broke up the dark green.
Y/N’s heart was hammering in her head, as her eyes scanned over the mass gathering of people. Y/N may have been in the dark about what was going on, but after all these years, she certainly knew what a military camp was.
Her heavy breathing and fast pulse had made her momentarily deaf, as she didn’t hear as Bucky and Steve trotted up the hill to meet her.
“Y/N-“
“Stop.” Y/N snapped, turning her head quickly to the men, “Stop right there.”
“We can explain.”
“Oh damn right you’re going to explain,” Y/N turns Zeus, so that she can face the two men, “You’re going to explain everything, no bullshit.”
~~~
Y/N sat in front of the open fire, Steve knelt at her feet as he rubbed up and down her calves, trying to warm Y/N’s legs up.
“Stop, just stop.” Y/N kicked her feet slightly, Steve leant back on his haunches as he looked up at Y/N, a puppy dog pout making his lips droop. “You told me, you were going to talk to me, you said you would tell me everything.”
“We will, we just need to get the blood flowing back in your toes and fingers.” Steve explained softly, tucking another blanket around her.
“I can sit and do that, whilst you talk. It’s very simple.” Y/N clutched the blanket, happy that her teeth had finally settled, as her jaw ached from all of the chattering. “Who were the men on the hill?”
Steve looked to Bucky, who had been nursing the jug of wine that the servants had bought Y/N to warm her up, he drew the chair back, before dragging it closer to her, so that he could sit in front of her. Steve went to grab another chair, before long both Princes had sat themselves in front of Y/N. Bucky was resting heavily on his closed fist, whilst Steve was bouncing his leg, as he chewed on his thumbnail.
“They are the reason we have been recruiting.” Bucky mumbled, taking another hefty swig of his cup, his Adams apple bobbing aggressively, as his eyes glared at the flames burning angrily to the side of him.
“Did you hear the bit where I said no bullshit, that right there, what you just said, is bullshit.” Y/N growled, tilting her head to the side, as she plucked at the threads of the blanket and covers the men had laid over her.
Steve sighed heavily before sitting forward, resting his forearms on his knees, as he wiped his face with his hands.
“All we’ve ever wanted to do, is protect you.” Steve mumble, trying to reach forward to touch Y/N’s hands, but she moved them out of his reach, her eyes watching him intensely.
“I’m sorry that we’ve abused your trust in ways that are…unforgivable,” Y/N scoffed at him, “But we did it because we love you, we love you more than you could realise.”
“Is that why it took you less than a minute to crawl back into bed with your whores, going back on the one thing that I asked you not to do. Because you love me?” Y/N spat, her fingernails digging into the wood of the chair, as her eyes continued to flick back and forth between the two of them.
The air in Bucky’s throat got briefly trapped, as he tried to dislodge it, he spluttered, some wine splattering onto his lips. He wiped it off with the back of his hand, as he eyes Y/N nervously.
“How did you-“
“I saw you. Both of you.” Y/N cut Steve off, making him drop his head, as he rubbed at the back of his neck.
“We’re sorry about that too.” Bucky muttered, “We were weak, when you needed strength.”
“Fine. You’re forgiven,” Y/N speaks quickly and bitterly, “Now for gods sakes tell me who those people were.”
“The people on the hill were Baron Zemo’s army.” Y/N could only hear the cracking of the wood in the fire, as she stared at Bucky and Steve emotionless.
“Baron Zemo? As in the leader of the Masters of Evil?” Y/N swallowed hard as her throat felt dry, when Bucky and Steve nodded. “What are they doing here?”
“They are here to invade.” Bucky speaks bluntly.
“But I thought the Masters of Evil had been dismantled, that the members had been scattered across the realms and continents in various high security prisons?” Y/N frowned, as she tried to think about what her father had told her.
“Zemo broke free from the dimension that he was placed in by Prince Thor, quickly freeing his son, the two of them have been breaking into the high security prisons that were holding the other members.” Steve seemed unable to stop himself, as he revealed everything to Y/N feeling relieved he didn’t have to lie anymore.
“If they’ve been performing this continent-wide prison break, why has my father not been informing me of what is happening, I assume that you have not intercepted every hawk that flies to the Islands?” Y/N stands from her chair in front of the fire, the Princes follow her with their eyes, as they watch her pace backwards and forwards.
“No, we’ve not touched any letters to or from your father, apart from the one we showed you, I swear to you.” Bucky promised, placing the wine next to his feet, before standing to meet Y/N half pace, “He was trying to protect you, like we are.”
“Don’t touch me, I may have forgiven you for your lies and betrayal, but I’ve not forgotten.” Y/N snarled, as she pulled away from Bucky’s arms as he tries to hold her gently. He looks at her like a wounded animal but takes a step back.
“How long has Zemo been in Kamar-Taj?” Y/N ignored Bucky, as she looked to Steve, who was sitting back in his chair now, but was gripping the arms, as his chest rose and fell unevenly.
“We had word that his ships would be docking two weeks ago, we knew that he would go to the west of the country, because we have less defence there, as it is miles from the castle. Zemo’s men have been camped there for three days.”
“Three days!” Y/N gasped, “Why haven’t you done anything, they’ve been there for three days, that’s more than enough time to launch an ambush or raid, they would have no chance to prepare.”
“Do not lecture us on the ways of war.” Bucky hissed, “Those bits of metal that we strap to our chest aren’t for decoration like your expensive jewels.”
Y/N’s nostrils twitched as she narrowed her eyes at Bucky, rolling her eyes, as he bared his teeth slightly.
“Very well, you are good warriors, but why have you let him get so close?” Y/N questioned, shrugging the blanket off of her shoulders, she no longer felt cold, as she had gone back to pacing.
“Zemo has more men, more people have joined him compared to last time, our army had been dwindled down to the smallest it had ever been, after the Five Year War, we needed time to build our armies, but Zemo didn’t give us any.” Steve exhaled, it was his turn to stare into the flames, as his fingernails picked at the feeble wood underneath them.
“If you had only told me,” Y/N sighed, “I could have spoken to father, could have gathered you some more men.” Y/N’s eyes moved to Bucky, who’s expression had grown glum, as he leant against the bed post, Y/N felt her heart ache, as she saw the defeated expression on his face, she wandered towards him, tentatively; she reached a hand out to cup his face.
“I could have comforted you.”
Bucky leaned heavily into Y/N’s palm, he pressed his lips to the pulse point on her wrist, before lifting his own hand up to squeeze hers tightly.
“I’m sorry, that I went back on my word, I was just so frustrated and angry, I didn’t want to take it out on you, I didn’t want to hurt you.” Bucky admitted, his eyes were hooded as they watched the floor, he was afraid to lift his head to meet Y/N’s eyes.
“You should have come to me.” Y/N whispered, taking her other hand to cup his other cheek, “You could never hurt me, not really.”
Y/N was surprised when her thumb was pricked with cold, but soon she realised that it was a tear, as another dropped onto his hand. Another and another, and soon Y/N could hear the sob that retched through Bucky’s chest, as he fell in her arms.
“I’m sorry that we’ve let you down. We’ve not done our duty, not really, not to you.” Bucky cried, he clutched at Y/N’s dress, as he blubbered into the fabric.
“You’ve done your duty, for your kingdom, Buck.” Y/N stroked back Bucky’s hair, and he leant back to look up at her face, his own cheeks red and puffy, as he sniffled.
“You are our kingdom.”
Y/N had to stop her own tears from falling, as she looked over to Steve, who had stood up and wandered to her and Bucky. Once he reached them both, he placed his hand on Bucky’s shoulder, catching his attention, before giving the man a look.
Detaching himself from Y/N’s arms, she worried that they were about to leave her, but she was shocked to see Steve and Bucky begin to kneel on the floor at her feet. Each of them took one of her hands.
“We swear to treat our vows to you with the upmost respect and dignity, you will be our priority now and forever, like we promised you, when we made our oaths to you.” Steve kissed your hand, and Bucky did the same.
“Thank you.” Y/N smiled, before kneeling in front of the men, “I admire you, and I adore you. But if you lie to me again, then I will cut your balls off and feed them to the dragons.”
The two Princes bit back a smile, before they both placed a kiss on your cheeks. Each of them rested their foreheads against each other.
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
“I love you.”

Summary: it’s time for the battle competition! Or so the students of UA think. Just before the battle starts, a portal opens up and chaos is unleashed. Everything would’ve been fine if Dabi hadn’t exposed the truth.
BAKUGOU’S MASTERLIST
Pt.1 Pt.2 Pt.3 Pt.4 Pt.5 Pt.6 Pt.7 Pt.8 Pt.9
After the long drive, a break, mind-blowing sex, and another long drive, UA has finally made it to the battle competition! The students all marveled in their seats as they looked out the bus windows. The buses for all the schools were parked atop a cliff. The area the students would be participating in was below in and it was nothing but forests, valleys, mountains, rivers, and meadows for miles. This was a race and only the best school and best students will win.
“And welcome to the competition UA,” Aizawa tiredly said. The students all cheered as they exited the bus and stepped foot onto the soft grass. They felt the breeze blowing and felt ready to go. “There’s a building down that path, you can change into your costumes there and wait for further instruction. And Y/N, you won’t be able to be with Rumor on this, so I’ll watch him for the time being. See you all soon.”
The students were excited as they quickly scrambled down the path as Rumor went with Aizawa to wherever.
“Man, after all that time we’re finally here!” Kirishima said. “We’re definitely gonna kick some ass the second we step foot in there,”
“No shit, Shitty Hair. These losers don’t stand a chance,” Bakugou said with a malicious grin. They Bakusquad continued to walk and talk as Bakugou kept his arm around you but he once again noticed your unusual silence.
“Hey..princess, tell me what’s up?” He whispered with a concerned voice. You looked up to him as you snapped out of your haze and stared at him with loving eyes.
“I’m fine Suki...just nervous.” You said with a slight laugh to appear okay. Bakugou took your word for it but still held some concern as he felt somewhere in his heart that there was more to the story.
“About what? You’re one of the best fighters here, you don’t gotta worry about anything. You’ll do great out there Princess. Promise.” He said before he kissed your forehead to reassure you. You gave a nervous laugh as you continued to stare off into space. You were scared.
The league would be coming after you sent the coordinates. Your palms were sweaty and your throat felt dry as you got closer and closer to the assembly building. You wanted to cry so bad for so many reasons. You were lost, you didn’t want anybody to be hurt, you didn’t want the truth exposed....you didn’t want to leave UA...and you didn’t want to leave Bakugou.
Time passed and the others spoke of whatever. You wouldn’t know. You were too busy stressing over the villains upcoming arrival. Class 1-A walked in and took notice of all the schools in the building. Infront of the crowd was a stage and a podium. You felt Bakugou’s grip on you tighten and you laughed as you saw he was looking at all the boys staring at you. You loved your jealous little pomeranian.
Students mumbled and talked amongst each other until a man came up to the podium and addressed everyone.
“Hello students! Welcome to the battle competition, Olympus! Today, all you hero trainees will battle against other schools as you all race to the top of the mountain on the other side of the valley. When you reach the top, there will be people awaiting your arrival to bestow upon you the chalice of victory!” The students cheered at the news and got all riled up. They piped down once the man began to speak again.
“Here’s how this will work. Each class from every school will be given a certain location somewhere out in the field. Don’t worry, it’ll all be at an equal difficulty and distance from the finish line so there’s no advantage for anybody. Once you hear the gun go off, you will all run through the wild to get to the top. Maps will be passed out to each of you right now and along with that, a badge that each of you will get that will tell everyone what team/class you’re apart of and it will connect you and your teammates to one team. Now, classes MUST stick together and everyone must arrive at the same time. Along with the obstacles of nature, some of you will fall into certain traps. There are markings placed at random in the field and once a member of the class steps into it, you will wait until another class gets trapped and you shall battle. Winners get to move on and continue the race. The competition will last for 3 days and if you haven’t made it to the finish line by the morning of the 4th, you must remain where you are so that we can find you and track you by your badge. Everybody clear?”
Students cheered once more as a way of agreement and got ready. “Good. All of you will be directed to the changing areas. There’s over 4,000 stalls, gender is separated, and each student will be able to get their own changing area. Put on your hero costumes and head to your class’s assigned location. Good luck to you all.”
Students got rowdy as they all began to leave the room. You and the Bakusquad stayed and talked for a bit before you kissed Bakugou and left to put on your costume.
You got to your own stall and quickly changed. As you finished you looked in the mirror. You, a villain, dressed as a hero. Comical. But yet, you smiled at the new look. You felt that it really suited you. You snapped out of your gaze and went to the earring hidden in your bag.
“Hello? Can anyone hear me?” You whispered softly into the earring. A minute passed before Shigaraki answered.
“Tell me the coordinates.” You bit your lip in hesitation. Was this really what you wanted to do? You held a shaky breath as you spoke
“43.5647 to 12.8499.”
“See you soon.” And just like that, the call was over. You released a deep sigh in regret and anxiety as you gathered your things and walked to the given location. There you met with all your classmates and Bakugou. He welcomed you with open arms as he pulled you in for an embrace.
“Hey Princess. Everyone already discussed a plan so I’ll fill you in on the way,” He said after he pecked your forehead. Oh his sweet kisses. One of the things you’ll dearly miss when you have to go your separate ways.
“Hi....” Bakugou once again held a frown and concerned stare as your unusual behavior kicked back in. He held you tighter as he tilted your head up by your chin and gave you a loving kiss. He pressed his forehead against yours as your head was still tilted towards the sky.
“What’s wrong Y/N?...Please,” he begged. He knew something had been wrong for awhile and now he was desperate for an answer. You held your breath as you stared at him with sad eyes and a fallen jaw. You squeezed your E/C eyes shut as you shook your head to the ground and placed it against his chest.
“Katsuki, I have to tell you somethi-“
*BANG!*
That was it. The sound of the start of the race. Students began running to the forest and you sighed as you realized this was destiny trying to tell you to not go. You shook off your nerves as you looked towards Katsuki.
“It’s okay, you can tell me later. C’mon,” he said as he grabbed your hand and began to run but with the first step that you took, your eyes glowed and you didn’t see Katsuki or the competition anymore. It was bright and white and all you could see was Korra’s angry face as her eyes also glowed.
“TELL HIM THE TRUTH Y/N!” She yelled with the voices of all the other avatars. Your eyes filled with tears as they shut again and you shook your head.
“I can’t! I’m sorry!” You cried out.
“CHOOSE THE RIGHT PATH!”
“I-I can’t! I don’t know what to do anymore!”
“Y/N!”
...
“Y/N!......Y/N!” Bakugou said as he shook you. Out of nowhere your eyes glowed and you froze in your tracks. Bakugou stopped running when he didn’t feel you follow him and when he looked back he did everything he could to snap you out of your avatar state. After a minute you finally settled and your eyes returned back to normal. You fell into his arms as your groaned in exhaustion.
“Katsuki....?” You softly spoke out as he held you against his chest.
“Are you okay?! What’s wrong?!” He frantically asked. The competition completely left his mind as he shifted his everything to you.
“I’m...im fine. It was just..Korra. She..spoke to me.” You explained.
“Are you okay? Do you need to sit?” He offered as he attempted to walk you to a tree stump so you could rest but you stopped him.
“No, no it’s fine Katsuki....we have to do this competition..” you said with stern eyes.
“No Y/N, I think you shoul-“
“Katsuki.” He looked at you and noticed your serious tone and strong grip as you held onto his arms. “Please.”
“.....okay.” And so you both ran to catch up with your class. You strained and shook off your headache as you thought about your past choices. Fear bubbled up inside of you as you looked towards Katsuki. He seemed focused on the task at hand and so you followed. What you didn’t realize was that under his cool, composed cover, he was nervous. He wanted you to be okay, it was all he yearned for but he also wanted to give you whatever you desired so if going through with the stupid race was what you wanted, then your wish is his command.
You both finally caught up with the class and out of nowhere, a trap was sprung. Denki had stepped into a red zone and all of 1-A’s badges glowed as the ground crumbled beneath them and they all fell into some arena in a cavern. The students plopped onto the ground, some on top of each other, as they all coughed from the dust and examined the area.
“You okay Princess?” Bakugou asked.
“I’m fine Suki,” you reassured him.
“What the hell Dunce Face?! Why didn’t you watch where you were going?!” Bakugou screamed at the poor blonde.
“Cool it man,” Bakugou’s best friend had said as he hooked his arms under Bakugou’s to keep him from attacking the electric boy. “Kaminari didn’t know what the traps looked like. None of us did so it’s good that we can identify them now. All we have to do is wait for another class to fall into another trap so we can fight ‘em and win”
“We’re losing time! Now we have to wait for some dumbasses and if nobody shows up, we’re stuck here! Like losers!” Bakugou said as he huffed and plopped on his ass to the ground infront of Y/N as he placed his chin in his hand. Y/N placed her hands on his shoulders to calm him.
“Kirishima is right, there’s hundreds of kids here and nobody who hasn’t sprung a trap knows what they look like. Somebody is bound to fall down here soon,” you reassured your angry boyfriend. Some of the class settled until a few minutes later, a voice spoke up.
“That you are correct, little mouse. Your opponents are here, but it’s not who you’d be expecting.”
Your eyes shot forward as you recognized the voice.
“Oh no...” you whispered and took your hands off of Bakugou as you stood straight. Everyone turned towards you as they watched you tremble.
“Princess, are you okay?” Bakugou asked as he stood up and held your hands.
“She’s fine blondie. She just knows what’s coming like the smart little puppet she is,” Shigaraki said as he stepped out of the shadows. The class shook and stilled at his appearance and got into defensive positions. The rest of the league popped out of the shadows and the class looked in confusion as they spoke on their concerns.
“What they hell are they doing here?!”
“What’s going on?”
“Should we get help?” The class all asked aloud. You shook off your nerves as you took your hands out of Bakugou’s as he looked at you in worry. You clapped your hands as a gust of wind hit everyone to bring their attention onto you. It was silent as everyone watched you speak.
“..Where are the actual opponents? What did you do to the students?” You shakenly asked. Dabi smirked as he walked back into the shadows and then returned before tossing an unconscious body in front of the class. You quickly ran to him and used your water bending to check on his body and health. The water went all around the poor student until you stopped your movements. He’s dead.
“Heh..you should see the rest of the students, little mouse,” Dabi said as he walked to you and gripped your chin in his hands to make you face him. As he smirked at you, an explosion was sent his way but he jumped and dodged it.
“Get your hands off of her!” Bakugou screamed as he ran to you. He brought you back into his arms as you just stared at Dabi.
“It’s not her you should be protecting, hero,” Dabi hinted. You cringed at his words but Bakugou ignored them as he seethed out a question.
“What the hell do you bastards want?!” He asked and Shigaraki was the first to answer his question.
“Take a guess!” He said as he directed the league to attack. Toga was the first to move as she went towards the girls and attempted to sliced at them. Dabi followed as he sent flames to the ground, but Todoroki was quick and put them out with his ice. The two brothers stared at each other, one with a nonchalant determined face and the other with a cocky smirk.
It was here and now. The attack was happening and it was happening to your class right now. All the students sprung into action as they fought villains, multiple students vs single villains. Sadly, the class were the ones struggling. Bakugou fought at Dabi as he pushed Todoroki away.
“Pick someone else IcyHot! I want this Bastard to myself!” The blonde said before he pounced to the fiery villain. Todoroki shifted as he and Midoriya worked at Shigaraki and you stood in pain at all the violence. You heard screams of pain from your classmates and you felt your own heart breaking. Due to your out of zone state, you couldn’t sense the blue flames coming your way until Bakugou screamed your name.
“Y/N! This isn’t the time for your daydreams! Get your head in the game!” He said. Delivery was a little harsh, but necessary. You quickly snapped out of it as you bended Dabi’s flames away.
“Poor little Y/N. Always a burden, always a bother.” Those words rung in your ears as you advanced towards Dabi. As you jumped mid-air, it was like time slowed down as Dabi’s eyes had slanted as he stared you down. “You sure you wanna do that...little mouse?”
His tone, cold, and your eyes widen in fear. The name, the way he spoke. It was the same voice and degrading name he used when he would attack you as a punishment. You quickly stopped your attack and stared infront of him. You looked up at him in fear as he smirked down at you. You may have changed the slightest bit but you were still a submissive little punching bag to the league. As you both held a staring match, one in fear and one in power, Bakugou blasted Dabi away from you. The black haired man groaned in pain as he felt the burn of the explosion and watched from a distance as Bakugou ran to guard you.
“Are you okay, Princess?” He asked you while he still watched Dabi in caution. You nodded your head and gave a “mhm,” as a reply as you both watched Dabi get up. He and Bakugou jumped at each other as they fought. Bakugou threw punch after punch as Dabi dodged each one while he spoke.
“Princess, Huh? *dodge* Never knew you were into villains Katsuki,” Dabi said as he dodged again.
“Shut up! You don’t know shit! That was her past!” Bakugou screamed as he continued to attack.
“Past?! *dodge* HA! You think your little Princess is an ex-con?!” He laughed in Bakugou’s face.
“She did what she had to!” Bakugou screamed once more. He swung again but Dabi caught his fist this time.
“Really? I didn’t know robbing banks, murdering people, and joining the League of Villains counted as survival,” Dabi said in his face. Bakugou face sprouted a confused look as Dabi threw him back.
“What?” Bakugou seethed threw grinded teeth. Your heart began to race as Dabi continued to talk.
“You don’t know Y/N at all Katsuki.” Dabi said as he gave you the side eye and watched your fearful and angry gaze.
“Stop talking Dabi,” you quietly said, however Dabi still heard. Including Bakugou.
“Your precious little Princess is on our side, hero. She’s a villain. And not just any villain. She’s the best of the best when it comes to the girls.” Bakugou shook his head in anger as he ran back to Dabi and threw punch after punch and kick after kick.
“SHUT UP!” He screamed at the villain but Dabi just dodged and continued. Bakugou was so confused and so angered that his emotions took control. His fighting faultered and Dabi had the upper hand as he attacked Bakugou and threw him into a small boulder. Bakugou groaned as he sat exhausted against the rock. He breathed heavily as he watched Dabi walk to Y/N, take her hand, walk closer to Bakugou, and wrap his arm over her shoulder. “GET AWAY FROM HER YOU FUCKING BASTARD!”
“Heh...do you wanna tell him or should I, Princess?” Dabi asked as he mocked the nickname Bakugou gave you. Your eyes teared as your breath became jagged and you looked towards Bakugou. Katsuki noticed how you didn’t remove Dabi’s arm and just stayed silent.
“Y/N?” He whimpered out as he looked at you for some sort of answer. What the hell was Dabi talking about? Grand theft? Murder? Joining the league? He needs an answer. Bakugou watched you swallow down a nervous breath as you hesitantly spoke.
“Katsuki.....I’m Titania....and...I..I’m a part of the League.” You said with a quivering lip. Bakugou’s eyes went wide as he felt his entire world shatter. The girl he fell in love with and gave his entire being to was an undercover villain. He felt tears stinging his eyes as he spoke.
“W-what?” He questioned. Dabi groaned aloud in annoyance as he threw his head back dramatically and continued the talk.
“Your little girlfriend here is a villain. In fact..this whole attack was her plan,” Dabi smirked out. Bakugou watched you as you kept your head down with a shadow casting over your face. An obvious frown adorned your lips. The lips that Bakugou had kissed a thousand times over and they belonged to the most heinous female villain. Bakugou dropped his head down as his eyes stayed open in shock. He felt a panic attack coming onto him as his breaths got heavier and he freaked out.
‘This can’t be true....She loves me! She would never....she could never do this! It’s Y/N! She’s...She can’t be a villain! She would never lie to me like this...’ Bakugou’s thoughts became too much so he screamed as he got up and ran to attack the both of you. He jumped into the air and released an explosion to the both of you but you both had dodged. When Bakugou dropped back to the ground he quickly ran to you and tackled you to the ground. He pinned you down as he hovered over you trying to scan your face for some sort of reasonable answer or explanation.
“Y/N!” He screamed in your face as he shook with tears falling from his ruby eyes. He watched as your lips continued to whimper and the shadow over your face remained. Dabi used his fire to send an attack towards you both and instead of burning you both, it stung as it pushed you both away. The two of you fell down a tunnel. You both held onto each other as you guys tumbled down a tunnel. When you both hit the ground again, you realized you ended up in a cave away from the fighting. Ahead of you was an opening to the outside world. You continued to lay on the ground as Bakugou stayed atop of you as he cried and whimpered into your shoulder. You gently pushed him off of you as you stood and tried to walk to the exit, but before you’d could take a step, Bakugou quickly grabbed onto your wrist.
You looked down at him with sad eyes as you watched him keep his head down as fat tears dropped from his eyes. He stayed on the ground, seated on his knees as he cried.
“Please tell me it isn’t true, Princess..” he whispered. You felt tears invade your own eyes as you squeezed them shut. You both stayed like that for awhile as you released silent tears.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered as you tried to help Bakugou stand but once he got to his feet he gripped your shoulders.
“Tell me everything! ...NOW!” He screamed with his eyes open and full of tears. You stared at him with an apologetic face as you shook your head.
“We have to go Katsuki, we have to get help.” Bakugou shook his head ‘no’ but allowed you to drag him out of the cave and into the opening. It was getting late and the evening had already started as the blue sky darkened a bit. You stomped your foot into the ground to use your earth bending to figure out exactly where you both were. Once you felt the vibrations, you realized you were too far to even locate the others or even the competition grounds. You guys were lost.
“We’re too far away from everything Katsuki. We should look around a bit and see if we can find our way back.” Bakugou held onto your wrist before you walked again.
“You owe me an explanation when all of this is over, Y/N.” He quietly said with a sad tone.
“...I owe you a lot more than that Katsuki. But I will be giving you an explanation...and with how far we are away from everyone, I might have time to give it to you sooner than you think.” You explained. You and Bakugou walked on with heavy hearts but the both of you both had the exact same question ringing in your minds.
‘What are we now?’
You both walked for miles and yet you still got nowhere. Everytime you stopped and checked to see where you guys were, it felt like you guys just got farther away from everyone. You silently begged for Rumor to just find you and regretted not having him just shrink down to a mouse to carry around.
Bakugou trailed behind you. His crying had gone on for some time but eventually stopped, however when it did, his sadness was replaced with anger. He was pissed. He doesn’t know where he was, what he’s doing, what’s going on, and he doesn’t even know who he’s with right now. He’s basically with a stranger at the moment.
Eventually, it grew dark and the sun had set while the moon had began to rise. While you continued to look for a way back, Bakugou was aware of his surroundings and stopped you by grabbing onto your arm.
“Stop walking, moron. Can’t you see it’s dark?” He said as he looked at you with a bored expression. You turned back and scoffed at him in disbelief.
“We’re lost. We have no idea where we are and have no idea how to get back. If we stop now, we’ll lose time and it’ll take forever to get back. And who knows what’s happening now to our classmates?!” You exclaimed. Bakugou shook his head at you when you finished.
“They’re my classmates. Not yours,” truthfully, saying that broke him a bit, but he had to continue, “and if we keep going, we’ll die out here in the wild. We should find a safe place to sleep for the night and find some fire wood to keep warm. Maybe get some food to fight off hunger.”
“We’ll be fine if we keep going. I’ve survived the streets before, we’ll be okay.” You said and attempted to walk again but Bakugou held you back.
“Well this isn’t the streets Y/N. There isn’t a store full of food we can rob when we’re hungry and there isn’t an overhead tunnel at every turn that we can sleep in. This is a forest. So just shut up and listen to me.” He said, his grip on your arm slightly getting tighter. You winced the tiniest bit and Bakugou saw as he quickly took his hand off your arm. He cringed at his action but shook off the bad thoughts. “C’mon, let’s go. We gotta find some shelter.”
You thought about it for a bit and realized he was right. This wasn’t the city. You sighed and bit the inside of your cheek before answering. “Okay.”
As you silently trailed behind Bakugou, you realized you just followed him blindly. It was like he read your mind when he spoke again. “I saw a cave awhile back. We’ll camp out there. Along the way let’s just collect some firewood whenever we see some.”
You followed his orders and by the time you guys made it to the cave, you were all set to sleep. You collected wood for a fire and even leaf piles to sleep on. As you both entered the cave, Bakugou set up your sleeping area and you started the fire with your bending. Once you were done you took a seat infront of the fire and just stared at the bright flame. Here you were in a cave with your....well now you were back to where you started with him. You didn’t know what you two were anymore.
Bakugou finished with the leaves and when he turned around, he saw you sitting on the ground with a blank look. He looked at you with sad eyes and a broken heart before he sighed and sat in-front of you on the other side of the fire. You looked towards him in confusion as to why he sat but then it came to you.
“Talk.” He said as he looked towards you. You stared at him and saw he was working to build up his walls again as if he was preparing himself for disappointment. He was smart for doing so though because disappointment was exactly what he would be feeling. That and probably some severe heartache. You pressed your lips together with a sad look on your face as you came to the conclusion that there was no avoiding the truth now.
“....I’m not who you think I am.” You said and it was like the air thickened as you watched how his jaw clenched and his eyes teared behind his mask.
“My name is Y/N L/N, I’m 16....and I’m a member of the League of Villains,” Bakugou’s breath stilled as he heard the words leave your mouth. He already heard it once but hearing it now as confirmation hurt.
“The story I told you when we were in the kitchen that night was all true. I just left out some details and kind of switched the story around. The place I was born in was a hidden village. The people there had the abilities to control the 4 elements. My parents had me but were killed by the cult I mentioned before. They took my people in so they could use their abilities to create the weapons, but me being so young, I had no idea how to control them. Eventually, I discovered I was the one who could bend all 4 elements instead of just one....I discovered I was the avatar.” You breathed out.
“The avatar?” Bakugou scoffed, “the bridge between the spirit world and physical world? The person destined to bring peace to the world? That’s nothing but a legend.”
“Wellll then I guess I’m a legend so thank you for that compliment.” You said and Bakugou stared at you in shock. He was sitting with the actual avatar. “Blah blah blah, trained with a master, blah blah blah, and that’s when the league found me. They saw my abilities and took me in. But you don’t get to live in the league’s hideout once you join. You work your way up the food chain and so I had to live on the streets and do their dirty work to prove myself. I did it for survival, but in the end, being a villain was all I knew. So I stuck to it. I officially became a member and I eventually became Titania, the best female villain alive.”
“....Why did you come to UA?” He asked.
“I didn’t want to. I came for a job. Aizawa and I were fighting when he took me away while I was injured and offered to take me in and put me in school. Said he saw good in me....obviously he was wrong considering the only thing that triggered me to go was the fact that there was an opportunity to take down UA and prove myself to the league.” You explained. You noticed Bakugou kept quiet and bit his lip as he seemed to have shook a little before asking the next question.
“...What about me? What part did I play in this fucking game you got going on?” He asked. You didn’t look at him the entire time. You kept your eyes on the fire and held a nonchalant face the entire time.
“You were the only part of my UA life that was genuine. I didn’t come here looking for a relationship and I didn’t need a relationship to take down UA.....but then you came into my life. You showed up and something about you...just made sense to me. And it gave me a comforting feeling I never got to experience before. You gave me a break from my chaotic life and it was the refresher I needed.” Bakugou blushed at your confession but still felt sorrow. Your feelings for him were true but that doesn’t change the fact that you lied to him and never told him who you truly were. You were also a villain while he was a hero trainee. This relationship was wrong. He dropped his head as tears began to pool at his eyes.
“.....I still love you, Princess.” He confessed.
“I know...and I still love you Suki..”
“........WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LIE?!” He screamed as he stood up. “YOU LIED TO ME ABOUT WHO YOU WERE!”
“I did a lot of things but I have never lied to you about who I was or what I felt towards you,” you calmly said to his loud proclaims.
“BUT YOU DIDNT TELL ME THE TRUTH EITHER Y/N! ....You didn’t tell me anything. You left me in the dark. You made me fall in love with you...and now I don’t know what to do...” he sobbed out. “You’re a villain...my dream is to be the number one hero...but I love you...but it’s wrong for me to not put you behind bars.”
You just looked at him with a straight face but it was clear you were hurting as well. But you still continued to let him take his frustrations out on you.
“I’m sorry Katsuki..”
“SORRY ISNT GONNA FIX ME Y/N! SORRY ISNT GONNA MAKE ME STOP LOVING YOU! SORRY ISNT GONNA STOP ME FROM BEING ANY LESS CONFUSED!”
A silence fell over the two of you. Bakugou was so hurt and it was all your fault. He didn’t deserve this. None of them did. And yet you still followed through with this horrible plan. You knew what had to be done.
“Let’s just get some rest..we should start our search for home again in the morning,” you said as you got up and walked over to the sleeping area. But this only triggered Bakugou even more.
“Rest?! REST?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME Y/N?! YOU’RE JUST GONNA DROP THE CONVERSATION LIKE THIS ISNT FUCKING IMPORTANT?!,” he said with tears in his eyes as he stood and screamed at you.
“YES! THIS ISNT FUCKING IMPORTANT! IF IT ISNT OBVIOUS, WE’RE DONE. OVER. SO LETS JUST FORGET ABOUT THIS AND FOCUS ON FINDING OUR WAY HOME!” You screamed back. The cave grew empty as silence filled the air. Bakugou felt his heart die in his chest. He loved you, even though you were a villain he still loved you. He didn’t want this to be over..but you? You were really willing to drop this relationship? Just like that?
“So..that’s it? You’re not even gonna try for us anymore? You’re not even gonna fight for us to be together?” He asked with tears in his eyes.
“......there is no more ‘us’ anymore, Bakugou.”

Rain, Rain, Go Away
Pairing: Ranboo & gn!reader (platonic)
Summary: [Dream SMP!AU] Ranboo’s memory may not be the best, but that doesn’t mean he’s not your best friend. Sometimes, you just wish he remembered to do to some things—like not get stuck in the rain.
Word Count: 4.1k
A/N: at last, some appreciation for my favourite enderman! let’s give this awkward, polite, tall child some love :) i tried a different writing approach to writing this, so please pardon the fact that there’s less dialogue in this one.
Tumblr media
You let out a small gasp as your eyes scanned the page in front of you, your toes curling in your shoes as you swallowed. Your fingers curled a little tighter around the spine of the book. You could not believe that just happened—they couldn’t just throw your favourite character into prison like that!
Chewing on your bottom lip, you sank back against the bench seat, you huffed as you set your book down face-up on your lap. Whatever. He’ll probably just break out, anyways.
Leaning back slightly, you stretched your arms out above you with a soft groan, your bones cracking with a satisfying pop. Relaxing once more, you blinked at the space around you while a soft breeze caressed the side of your face. It was a beautiful day out, but Ghostbur had told you earlier that it was probably going to rain, soon.
“How can you tell?” you had asked him once.
He had shrugged at you, humming aloud with a thoughtful look. “The sky just seems a little sad, don’t you think?”
You had glanced up at the clear, boundless blue expanse lying above you, your lips curling into a small frown. “I dunno. Looks pretty happy to me.”
“That’s the thing,” Ghostbur had said, flashing you that soft, ghostly smile of his. “It may look happy, but there’s more than what meets the eye.”
While you supposed he had a point, you still didn’t quite understand how he could tell it was going to rain. It must be me his ghostly senses, you thought to yourself, swinging legs back and forth on the bench, your heels dragging along the slightly dewy grass. That, or maybe he’s officially lost it. You wrinkled your nose. Can ghosts even go crazy? Is that a thing?
You shook your head. Crazy or not, Ghostbur was never wrong when he said it was going to rain—you weren’t about to start doubting him, now.
Above you, the sky was still as clear as ever, the sun cresting high above you as its warm rays shone down on you. Just how long had you just spent reading? It felt like you hadn’t talked to anyone in ages, now.
Just then, something moved in the corner of your eye, and you turned your head, blinking.
A head of black and white hair bobbed along the distance, the figure slowly growing closer and closer until you could clearly make out the face attached to it. The moment you did, a wicked smile shot across your face, and you opened your mouth.
“Hey, Ranboob.”
Ranboo froze at the sound of your voice, raising his head only for a look of horror to pass through his eyes as realization sunk in. “Not you, too.” Exasperation tinged his voice as his eyebrows curved downward. “Have you been talking to Tommy, again?”
You simpered with a coy gleam in your eye, tracing a finger over the edge of a page. “Maybe.”
Crossing his arms over his chest, a long sigh fell from his lips. He strode up to you, stopping a few feet away to stare you down. “I came out here to have a good time,” he said lowly, “and I’m feeling very attacked, right now.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, your smile widening slightly. “Quoting stale memes now, are we?”
He lifted his chin at you, his expression firm. “Stale or not, it’s fitting for my current situation.”
You blinked at him, then shrugged. “Fair enough.” Picking up your bookmark from its spot on your lap, you swiftly slid it in between the pages of your book, letting the pages fall shut with a satisfying clap. “So,” you said, peering up at him, “what are you up to, right now?”
“Well, I kind of wanted to go exploring for a while. You know, see some new sights, get a break from—” He shivered. “—politics.”
A laugh bubbled out of your throat, and you caught the way his lips curled up at the sound. “A 2-in-1 deal then, huh? Sounds good to me.” You leaned back, your eyes pointing up at the sky above. “Ghostbur said it was going to rain, though.” Furrowing your brows, you shot him a worried look. “Are you sure you’re gonna be okay?”
He jutted a thumb over his shoulder, rocking back and forth on his heels with a nod. “I’m heading home to grab my helmet, actually.” When you narrowed your eyes at him, he waved a hand at you. “Don’t worry—I’ll be safe, I swear.”
You cocked your head at him, a hopeful look flickering across your face. “But we’re still baking potatoes later, right? At four o’clock?”
He nodded, an earnest smile tugging at his lips. “Of course. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
You grinned at him, wide and giddy as you lifted one hand in a wave. With the other, you opened your book once more, tugging the bookmark out and placing it on the space beside you. “Awesome. Take care, now.”
Turning on his heel, he waved over his shoulder, sending you a reassuring grin. “Will do.”
Ranboo was a few yards away when your eyes widened, a sudden thought barreling into you. Slamming your book shut, you shot to your feet, whipping around with a hand cupped around your mouth. “And do not forget,” you shouted, your voice ringing across the air, “you hear me?”
Stopping in his tracks, Ranboo turned, a smile stretched across his face as he called back, “Loud and clear!”
With a relieved sigh, you lowered your arm, watching as he darted down the path toward his house. You sat down on the bench with a hum, casting your gaze down at your book only to freeze. Then, you let out a long groan.
You forgot to put your bookmark back.
Grumbling quietly to yourself, you pulled back the cover, scouring the pages with a glower as your bookmark stared back at you tauntingly.
At least you had something to look forward to this afternoon.
Tumblr media
Ranboo strolled through his house with a soft hum, unlocking chests here and there to dig around and stuff things into his pockets. Food, check. Sword, check. Map, check. He blinked, tapping his foot. Am I missing anything?
He paused for a long moment, blinking down at the items lying in front of him before snapping his fingers, letting out a quick, “Aha!” Scrambling to his feet, he rushed to the other side of the room, leaning up against the wall to pluck the clock out of its frame. How could he not remember to bring a clock? After all, he had to be back in time to bake potatoes with you.
Slipping the clock into his pocket with a quiet hum, he turned back to the table where he had laid everything out. Clock, check. Is that everything? He squinted for a moment, staring at the open chest pressed up against the wall as the wheels in his head slowly turned.
A moment passed, then two.
He felt like he was forgetting something.
Didn’t you tell him something—reminded him of something? He wrinkled his brow, staring long and hard at the top of shoes. What could it possibly be? He was pretty sure it was something along the lines of... something, something... sky?
Ranboo lifted his head, his eyes trailing over to the window with confusion swimming through his eyes. Just outside, the sky was bright and vibrant, not a single cloud to be seen. There hadn’t been such a clear day in weeks, now.
You must have just said something about how nice the weather was, today—he was sure of it.
Moving quickly and surely, Ranboo slipped his belongings into his pockets, making sure to strap the sword to his back before stepping outside, a soft breeze immediately caressing the side of his face.  He took in a deep breath, feeling the cool summer air fill his lungs. With sunlight dancing on his cheeks, he felt his lips quirk up into a small smile.
It was time to explore.
Tumblr media
Ranboo gazed up at the towering trees with a soft gasp, shielding his eyes from the dappled sunlight flitting across his face with his hand. People said he was abnormally tall, but when he was surrounded by trees as big as this, he just couldn’t believe that to be true.
Ducking under a low hanging branch, he let out a whistle as he stepped into a sudden clearing, a short stump lying in the center. The sunlight almost seemed to shine a spotlight atop the cut wood, and he found himself immediately walking up to it and sitting down. With one hand, he lifted his sword from his back and tossed it onto the ground. With the other, he pulled out a carrot from his pocket and took a bite, glancing around him with curious eyes.
He had never even known that there was a spruce forest in this area. Maybe he should go exploring more often instead of spending so much time thinking about countries and borders and allegiances and—
A shiver ran down his spine, and Ranboo shook his head. Now was not the time to think about all that.
For a few minutes, Ranboo simply sat and chewed, stretching out his legs. He watched as a pair of foxes darted between the trees, their orange, bushy tails swishing behind them as they ran off into the bushes. He smiled at the sight, finishing his carrot. He had to tell Fundy about them later.
All of a sudden, something wet dropped onto the bridge of his nose, and he let out a sharp yelp while leaning back. He slammed a hand over his face, not quite realizing how far he had leaned back before he was suddenly lying face first on the ground, crashing into the earth. Letting out a groan, he lifted his head, rubbing at his nose.
The skin burned where he touched it like a hot ache, and Ranboo scrunched his face. What in the world was that? Tilting his head back to look up, his breath hitched in his throat at the sight that met his eyes.
The once clear, blue sky was now overcast with dark, stormy clouds, their hazy appearance overshadowing their softness.
He squinted for a moment, desperation stirring in his veins. It wasn’t raining, was it? It couldn’t be. You would have told him if it was going to rai—
Ranboo froze, then let out a long sigh. “I,” he said aloud to himself, his low voice ringing out in the quiet forest, “am an idiot.”
You did tell him, didn’t you? That must have been what he had forgotten—that, and his helmet.
He paused again, furrowing his brow. Wait, no. There was something else too, something else he was forgetting.
With a huff, he pushed himself onto its feet, screwing his eyes shut as he pressed a hand to his temple and ran through the jumbled mess of memories in his head. He remembered walking down the prime path and seeing you on the bench... you had called him Ranboob, asked where he was going, and...
His eyes flew open, a low, sinking feeling settling in his gut.
Potatoes. He was supposed to bake potatoes with you at four.
Without even an inkling of hesitation, Ranboo shoved his hand into his pocket, frantically fishing around for a moment before pulling out his clock, his eyes widening.
It was four eleven.
You were so going to kill him.
All of a sudden, another wet droplet landed on the top of his head, and Ranboo let out a quiet shriek, feeling his scalp grow hot with the same, uncomfortably familiar burning sensation as earlier. Whipping around, Ranboo swept his eyes across the clearing. He wasn’t going to make it back in time now, at least not without possibly dying. For now, he had to find something—anything—to hide under.
Something burned against his backside, and Ranboo didn’t need to turn around to know what it was, far too busy turning this way and that. But no matter where he looked, all he could see were tall, looming spruce trees, there branches too spaced out separated to serve as even remotely sufficient shelter.
Just then, another raindrop splashed onto his shoulder. Then another fell on his arm. Then another dropped onto his foot.
With each passing second, the rain grew heavier and heavier, more and more droplets landing on him and leaving his body aching all over. Ranboo gritted his teeth, his chest heaving with wracking, wet breaths. Choking back a pained cry, his hand desperately clutched at the front of his now damp and soggy shirt.
He was so, so screwed.
Tumblr media
You stared at the empty baking tray sitting on your kitchen counter, your eyes darting back and forth between it and the clock on your wall. After a few moments, you let out a groan, smacking your head against the counter.
It was four fifteen.
Ranboo was late.
Admittedly, it was only by fifteen minutes, but late was late.
You turned your head so that your cheek was smushed against the counter, the coolness seeping into your skin as you glared at the sack of potatoes sitting on the opposite side of the kitchen. Ranboo was a punctual guy—he was almost never late, and if he was, it was never by a landslide, or anything.
Lifting your head, you nodded to yourself, feeling yourself fill with resolve. Yes, that was it—he was surely going to show up soon! In the meantime, you could always just read some more of your book.
Abandoning your baking, you were soon curled up on your couch once more, your book clutched between your fingers as you drank in the rest of the story. You were right—your favourite character did break out of prison.
Although you were engrossed in your novel, you slowly found your eyes returning to the clock every few minutes, anxiety gnawing away at you. Everything’s fine, you reasoned with yourself, flipping to the next page with a nervous glance. Ranboo’ll turn up soon.
But soon enough, twenty minutes passed with no sign of Ranboo.
Then thirty.
Then forty.
By the time an hour had gone by, you found yourself staring out the window, your lips pursed and your eyebrows furrowed in worry. The rain ran down along the glass panes like tiny rivers, and you could hear it pattering against your roof. Beside you, your book lay abandoned facedown on the couch. Is he okay? you wondered, clenching your jaw. Did something happen?
You didn’t let yourself think about it for a moment longer, shutting your book and setting it onto the coffee table before getting to your feet, your eyes narrowed. If Ranboo wasn’t going to come to you, it looked like you were simply going to have to get him yourself.
It only took you a few moments to grab your jacket from its spot on the hanger and tug it on, your fingers deftly buttoning the front while you muttered to yourself. “He probably forgot we were hanging out, didn’t he?”
Rolling your eyes to yourself, you walked up to your front door, your hand reaching for the handle when you paused. A grimace stretched across your face, and your gaze shifted toward the coffee table.
You forgot your bookmark, again.
You stared at your closed book for a moment longer, then scoffed, twisting the door open. Who cared about some book when your best friend was missing? You had your priorities straight.
Flipping your hood over your head, you rushed down the path, splashing past puddles and damp grass as you raced toward Ranboo’s house, grumbling. Keeping you waiting for half an hour was one thing, but two? This called for some serious retribution.
When you arrived, you didn’t bother to knock before pushing the front door open, your mouth already open in a shout. “Ranboo?” you cried, your eyes taking in the room. “Are you there?”
There was a beat of silence, then you frowned. Now he’s ignoring me? Rude.
Slipping off your shoes, you stepped inside, ducking your head around as you searched for him. But it was only after a few moments that it was obvious that he wasn’t home, and you were alone. Blinking, you stared at the open chest near the wall and the empty frame attached to the space above the door.
Is he... still outside? you thought carefully. Your bit your lip, crossing your arms over your chest. There’s no way. I specifically told him that it was going to rain today. You paused, your frown deepening. Unless...
Stifling a sigh, you slowly turned until your eyes landing on the armour stand sitting in the corner of his room. Your jaw dropped.
He forgot his helmet.
You didn’t even have to think about it before you were ripping the helmet off the stand and diving for Ranboo’s open chest, immediately pulling out a handful of regeneration potions and stuffing them into your pockets. Maybe this was considered stealing, but in that moment, you couldn’t care less.
“He is so dumb,” you whined in a panicked tone, pulling your shoes back on and kicking down the door. “I cannot believe him.”
In a flash, you were sprinting down the hill that led outside L’Manburg, Ranboo’s helmet bouncing along at your side. He said he was going exploring, you remembered, panting to yourself as you tried not to slip on the wet ground, so he must be somewhere in the wilderness.
You were about to turn the corner when a figure came into sight from the side, blond locks bobbing along the side of your vision. At the sound of footsteps, Tommy lifted his head, sending you a bright grin as he waved. “Hey, [Y/N]!” His eyes fell down to your hand, and his eyebrows knit together. “Is that Ranboo’s helme—”
“No time to explain!” you shouted, barreling past him without even a second glance.
Tommy made a face as you passed, his cerulean eyes following after you. “Wait, what the f—”
But by then, you were already long gone, leaving Tommy behind to swim in a puddle of confusion and unanswered questions.
Tumblr media
Ranboo huddled further against the tree trunk, his back digging into the bark as he wrapped his arms tighter around himself where he sat. Above him, the branches rustled, and a raindrop whizzed past his face, sliding down the side of his arm. Bristling, he let out a small whimper, his nails digging into his palms.
This was probably the most pathetic situation he’d ever been stuck in.
He could feel the back of his eyes sting with unshed tears, and he sucked in a shaky breath. He half-wanted to cry, but he knew he couldn’t let that happen. He could already imagine the way his cheeks would burn at the feeling of his tears flowing down his face. Crying would only make everything even worse than it already was.
To think that of all the days he could forget something you said, it just had to be today. God, just how bad of a friend was he to get stuck in the rain even after you told him to bring his helmet, let alone forget about hanging out with you?
He buried his face into his knees, squeezing his eyes shut with a ragged breath. He really was awful.
Suddenly, a distant voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
“Ranboo?”
He whipped his head up at the sound of his name, eyes wide as he scanned the clearing. “[Y/N]?” he shouted.
Just then, you burst through the bushes, stumbling forward. Before you could stop yourself, you found your shoe catching on the tree stump he had been sitting on earlier, and he winced as you toppled headfirst into the ground with a crash.
“A-Are you okay?” he asked, concern etched onto his features.
You quickly pulled yourself up from the ground, completely ignoring the mud staining your pants. “I should be the one asking you that,” you said in a blur, rushing over to him with a focused gaze.
Ranboo could only gape at you with a stunned look as you crouched down in front of him. “How—how did you even find me?” he sputtered, his head still reeling at the sight of you. “This forest is hundreds of blocks away.”
You deadpanned at him. “Lots, and lots, and lots of running.” You gestured to your dirty shoes, soaked with rain and mud all over. “My feet are kind of killing me, right now.”
He winced, his voice growing quiet. “I’m sorr—”
You raised a hand. “Ah, ah, ah. This comes first.” Pulling his helmet out from behind you, you immediately slammed it atop his head, easily making sure it was securely attached to his skull. “Also,” you added, burying a hand into your coat pocket, “drink this.”
Without missing a beat, you pulled out a potion of regeneration and shoved it toward him. As his hand clasped around the glass bottle, Ranboo opened his mouth, only to close it at the stern look you gave him. Swallowing, he removed the cork and lifted the potion to his lips, the sweet liquid pouring down his throat. In an instant, the burning of his skin subsided, and he felt his shoulders relax.
At his calm expression, your eyes finally softened, and you nearly sagged against him in relief. “Feeling any better?”
Capping the empty bottle, he let it drop to the damp grass as he nodded, but something sad flickered across his gaze. “Yeah, but...”
The words were flying out of your mouth in a flurry, and you already reaching for your pockets again. “Did you still need anything?” You pulled out another potion. “I, um, didn’t bring a lot of stuff with m—”
Ranboo shook his head, and you fell silent. “No, no, it’s not that, it’s just...” He paused, and sucked in a deep breath, his voice coming out fragile and cracked. “I’m really sorry, [Y/N].” He curled his legs closer to his chest, and he suddenly looked very, very small as his words came out in a mess of choked out syllables. “I forgot we were going to hang out and I just couldn’t remember and then it was raining which I also forgot you told me about and now you must hate m—”
Before he knew it, your arms were wrapped around him, your head pressed against his as you softly crooned. “Shh, Ranboo, stop. I’m here, okay? And I would never hate you for something like that.” You patted your hand against his sopping back, and felt him melt into your touch. “I’m just glad you’re alright.”
He pulled away from you, his lips parted in surprise. “Really?”
You smiled, sincere and true. “Really.”
Just as a slow, shaky smile spread across his lips, you suddenly realized how quiet it was. Turning, you peeked up at the sky once more, your eyebrows raising at the sight of a clear, blue sky. The rain had finally stopped.
“Well,” you said, your smile widening, “would you look at that.” Then, you blinked, and frowned down at your dirty shoes. “Dang. That means I got all muddy for nothing.” You saw Ranboo wince again, but you merely shrugged, getting back onto your feet. “Oh, well. Enough of that. Let’s get going, instead.”
For a moment, Ranboo simply stared at you as you dusted off your front, a soft, affectionate warmth filling his chest. Then, he spoke. “Thank you for coming to get me,” he said so softly you almost missed it. “I really am sorry.”
You paused, then smiled at him again. “And I really do forgive you.” Stretching your hand out toward him, you tilted your head. “Now, stop thinking about it, okay? I promise I’m not mad.”
Ranboo hesitated for a second, then slipped his hand into yours, letting you tug him up onto his feet with a grateful grin. “Okay.”
Once he was upright once more, you clapped your hands together. “C’mon, let’s go back to my place. I’ve got some bandages you can use. Besides,” you said, shooting him a cheeky wink, “we still have some potatoes to bake.” You shivered, sticking your tongue out in disgust. “I also need to do some laundry.”
Laughter bubbled up his throat, lighthearted and pure as the two of you strode out of the forest, the sun shining down on you as you made your way home.
Ranboo might be forgetful, but he was sure he wouldn’t ever forget the important things—things like you.

"im trying to work on it, goddamnit!" you screamed on the telephone in frustration.
"fuck, if he's so eager to finish it already why can he finish him of then, shit." you dropped the telephone and pushed it to the side. you kicked the chair next to you from annoyance and pretended that was the chief.
you took a deep breathe and looked at the board on your wall, plastered were photos of your targets and a map of the kingdom. you frustratedly walked towards the board, grabbing a red pen and drew a big circle around the current king's image.
after a moment of staring at your board and coming up with a different plan, you heard the door knob twist and the door swung open and you felt the chief's figure behind you.
without turning back, you rolled your eyes and crossed your arms. "what do you want, choi?" you asked still looking at the board.
"do your job properly, y/l/n. it's been 3 months, three fucking long months and you still haven't found the guts to finish him."
but you couldn't be fazed, what is he gonna do? just like what you said, if he's so eager why can't he kill him himself already?
you scoffed and turned around to face your chief's tall frame. you leaned forward to ensure the distance between you and his face is almost close.
"do it yourself if you're so eager." you said and pursed your lips. you backed up and leaned on the wall next to the board. "i told you, yeonjun. it's not easy to get ahold of kang by himself without his little lizards following him around."
yeonjun massaged him temple from disbelief and bit his lower lip. he couldn't believe that you really did just say that, he trusted you into this mission because he know the power you hold. he knew you could do your mission properly and quickly so why couldn't you do it?
"then bring beomgyu to help you!" yeonjun said exasperatedly and ran his fingers through his hair. "here, how many attempts have you taken?" he asked you.
you blinked, you felt air form your lungs stuck on your throat. it's getting harder to breathe whenever you think about it.
three times. you had three free chances to finally end the king's life but you couldn't. the guilt is rushing over you whenever you're about to do it. the emotions rushing through you when you had the knife in your hands. it felt so wrong, you knew it was wrong. but this is your job, this is your reality.
"y/n, i'm asking you."
once you heard yeonjun's voice, you looked up and chuckled. "doesn't matter. i'll do it tonight, stop bothering me."
Tumblr media
walking around the town's market at eight at night is the last thing you wanted to do tonight. however, you're not going to deny how much you enjoy the enthusiasm and the bright lights tonight. plus, the cold breeze of the air is unique from what you've experience before.
you entered a pub to grab some light drink to start of your night. the loud roar of the music and drunk people partying is also very different from the other days.
"just give me a cocktail." you told the bartender.
after two cocktails, the adrenaline rushed through your body and you know it was about time to look for the king. he could be in his fancy, gold coated palace, or he could also be anywhere else.
you stood up to exit the pub but you were unwantedly pushed over to the wall. it was painful, you were shoved pretty hard without warning it caused you hit the wall.
you sneered to yourself and turned to the person and screamed at them.
"watch where you're going you dumb freak!"
great, your night is ruined. you snarled at the person but you couldn't see their full figure. the person was wearing a long cape the covered their whole form.
you frowned at the sight because the person just completely ignored you. how dare they ignore you after they shoved you to the wall and act as if that was nothing?
you walked towards the person and grabbed their cape to get their attention. the person slightly stumbled towards your direction as you pulled them, causing them to face you, yet still, you couldn't get a clear look of their face.
"are you really not gonna apologize to me?" you looked up since the person was indeed taller that you are. you heard the person inhaled and bowed their head before putting their hand out.
you looked at their moving hand about to touch your hand, however, the mark on their hand caught your attention.
the mark is the same mark that you have, the same mark you wanted to get rid off because it looks unpleasant in the eye. the same mark you hated because your friends have told you that the mark is your soul mate mark. you winced at the thought and looked at the person's face.
"we have the same mark..."
and then you knew, you finally knew who you were talking to.
you immediately dragged the person out from the pub and pulled him to the narrow, dark passage.
you couldn't help but to look at the person's hand and compare it to your own. it's the same stupid mark you hated, it's the same exact mark and you knew this person is your soulmate.
you reached for your knife behind you and pointed it towards the person.
the person's eyes widened as they slowly put their hand up. "what are you doing?" they asked.
you scoffed, you feel angry, you feel annoyed, you feel guilty. "i know who you are." you said. you couldn't believe you're about to do this to your soulmate, you couldn't believe your job was to kill your soulmate. "take off the cape, kang."
taehyun's brows furrowed, he clearly never met you before but why did you wanted to kill him? he finally felt this joyous emotion after a very long time, he finally found his soulmate. he has been search for you yet this is how your first encounter going to be.
the king slowly pulled his cape down, exposing his blonde hair and sharp facial features. looking confused, sad yet happy at the same time. his eyes had become watery after the revelation. "i finally found you." he said and smiled, tears flowing down his cheeks. "i found you." he quietly said.
you grabbed his shoulder and pointed the knife on his neck. "it doesn't matter." you said, pointing the knife closer and closer towards his bare neck. even still, instead of asking for help, he just smiled widely at you, tears streaming his face and examining you. his eyes are gleaming through the darkness, he couldn't believe you're right in front of him.
"you're so beautiful." he said as his hands slowly coming down. you felt water pricked your eyes. you haven't been genuinely gotten a compliment in a long time, your heart soften from his words but the grip on your knife tightened.
he chuckled, the knife now in the first layer of his skin, blood dripping from his neck. he inhaled. "i've been looking for you."
you stopped. you looked deeply in his eyes as you felt the tears rushing over your face. "i finally found my soulmate--"
"don't say that! im not your soulmate!" you yelled.
unconsciously dropping the knife on the floor as you felt your chest running out of air, your chest tightening you almost want to pass out.
"please, look at me." taehyun caressed your cheeks and wiped your face. "please don't cry." his voiced cracked as he sob, both of you falling on your knees on the floor and sobbing your heart out.
what a tragedy. who would've thought the king's soulmate is his own assassin.
"i'm so pathetic." you sobbed on your own hand.
taehyun pulled you towards him and hugged you, he let you cry on his shoulder.
"arrest me. execute me. please, just--" you pleaded.
"i can't arrest you."
"but i could kill you!" you screamed.
"why didn't you, you were almost there."
and you froze, cold air washed over your body and your eyes fell on his wounded neck, blood gushing out from it.
you bit your lower lip and looked down. you're embarrassed of your actions and you just wanted this to be over it.
"lemme take you home." he suggested.
"i don't want to go home." you said.
he sighed and lifted your chin, "lemme take you to my home."
"stop." you said and got up. "i'm not going with you."
"you belong with me."
you stared at him with disbelief. "i can't believe you. i could kill you anytime and yet you still want me to go with you? do you have a brain?"
he frowned, "as long as i know you're with me during my last breath..."
you turned your heel around. "stop being a hopeless romantic, there's no chance for us. i'm not going with you." you started walking away.
"and please don't be a martyr." you turned around, "as much a it hurts i can't be with you. you can't be with your own assassin."
he ran towards you, "please don't go."
you sighed as your hand reached your chest. "i don't want to hurt you, kang. but my job--"
"please don't go." he held your hands and caressed it.
you gave him a sad smile as you let his hands go. your hands reaching his cheeks. "maybe in another life, we can be together without anything going between us."
you walked away without giving him the chance to speak once more. you walked away crying from your sins and much realization.
you're your own soulmate's assassin.

Shrunken Kyoka Jirou being cuddled/manhandled by short-circuited Denki Kaminari - This is almost entirely fluff! A bit of attempt at humour too, I wished to practice my writing, and I do love these two QwQ I felt the dynamic of a short-circuited electric boy may be interesting to try my hand at.
Warnings: None.
oooo
He was drooling, she noticed with a sneer, hands on her hips as her boot beat at the dirt in a nervous impatience. “Whe- whey…?” She could not for any money decipher what the fuck he was even trying to say, but the tone was confused. Had he tried with a question? “What do you want? Huh?” Kyoka made no attempts to step any closer to the teens’ towering form, the distance between them was very, enough. Frankly put, she was more than very off about the whole shrinking thing. To be truthful, Denki was almost terrifyingly big as she looked up at his lost face. The two had tried to work as a duo against a gang of teens their age, and perhaps she got a bit ahead of herself. It left her brushed by the deceptive finger of a delinquent with some sort of shrinking quirk. She witnessed, helpless to do anything, as the idiot before her had tackled the dude down then short-circuited, only that the target had friends who had carried him off; leading to now, as he sat in the grass, glancing down at her, oblivious to the strangeness of this predicament, while subconsciously going back and forth with his thumbs, as per usual. Kyoka groaned, rolling her eyes.
‘If only you’d stayed smart.’ “Hellooo? Earth to Jamming-Whey.” She tried. Which only earned the girl indifference from his eyes, not calming down his erratic hands. Of fucking course this had to happen, and to her too! The girl turned around, stomping as hard away as she could as she just tried to think of anything to help their situation. They weren’t in any immediate danger, just unsupervised. Mr.Aizawa would surely arrive soon, the others had been messaged info of their whereabouts, so maybe about half an hour from now-
All of a sudden she was enveloped by fingers taller than herself. With no time to react Kyoka let out a “Hey!” of surprise, eyeing frantically at the imprisonment, till she turned and raised her head to face the blond captor. Expecting some sort of explanation. Denki’s eyes were however only dazedly eyeing his friend, brows creasing his forehead, as if in a worried state of mind. ‘What is going on inside that empty space?!’
 “Hey, Whey-man!” She tried kicking herself loose once more, “Let me down, Denki!”
He wasn't being rough, actually, his grip was surprisingly gentle, but she hated the thought of being in his grip. Tiny, and to top it off, unable to stop whatever antics he would come up with. The blonds brows just furrowed together even further, almost disclosing a look of hurt. Damn, she did not like seeing this big baby-guy sad. Kyoka ceased her kicking, sighing in a defeated manner. Her world shifted a bit as the hand around her was brought closer to her friend’s chest, cradling her protectively against him. He radiated heat, but it was not too bad. A shadow was over her in a few seconds, the back of the other hand being wiped under Denki’s chin, bringing the drool with it. He was just about to bring the other hand around the one holding the girl, but no, nonono, she wanted nothing to do with his spit. “Ah, ah! Denki! Wipe that off first!” God, she had to baby this giant boy. She mentally dragged a hand down her face. His own hand froze at her words, his throat making some strange humming as the arm limply fell to his side. At least he was not completely lost to his drawback. No other choice but to relax, somewhat at the very least, she untensed her body. She had not noticed it before, but as all fell quiet, she felt and heard the strumming of his pulse. Though, what worried Kyoka was the occasional skip or jitter it gave off. She guessed a powerful quirk like being able to freaking electrocute stuff was not in any way easy to deal with. A sad sigh flared her nostrils, just to save her he had once again lost a few brain cells. She also noticed he had calmed down since he had snatched her up. His breathing slower, and his hands still. Was it sheer willpower to restrain that restlessness, or did the predicament bring him content? Her heart swelled a bit. Kyoka supposed Denki was not all that bad. Annoying at times, but sweet all the same. Especially as he sat there in the grass with her… while she was  miniaturized... Held protectively against her wishes. Though, it was humouring. “Big doof.” She snorted. “K- Kyo-” The blond started up again, trying with words  “Ka… S- Safe.” He seemed to be leaving it at that. Sight rolling back up to stare at the clear hues of the evening sky.
 A smile eased onto her normally frowny face, closing her eyes. Maybe... She didn’t mind it that much, not for now.
Bonus: Denki sensed that sobering feeling slowly letting on his brain, blinking a few times as if to encourage it in more. His memories were a bit fuzzy, like, he had had a dream about Kyoka. Being tiny. He was sitting in that same grass-patch that he had dreamt about, and his hand- He whipped his head fast to look down on his occupied hand, shaken to find his dream less of an actual figment of his crazy imagination. In his hand he held his friend, actually shrunken and dozed off. Awe entered him, only interrupted when- when she snuggled her resting head further into his fingers. His heart swelled at her action, but he figured she could not be super comfortable in his fist. Still a bit shaky from the dizzy spell, he opened his hand over the other, cupping it as he gently let her lie onto it. Being more than careful not to rustle the girl around too much. He could see a small smile fall onto her face, once more burying into his skin, as if napping in a comfortable bed. Ahh! She is so cute!
He heard a buzz, raising his head and reaching into his pocket to fish his phone out. He saw a multitude of missed calls and notifications, but the most recent one was from his teacher himself! Asking for the coordinates of their whereabouts. Denki quickly sent them, putting the phone back into his pocket.
 Looking to check on the girl again, he was not expecting to meet her two glaring eyes. The boy nervously chuckled.
“What is it?”
--
Shouta walked into the forest, Hizashi waiting in the car at the road in front of the clearing. He was just about to look back at the coordinates Denki had sent to his work-phone, but did not have time to open the map as a screeching voice made its way to his ears.
“Denki! This was the hand you wiped your nasty drool with!” “S- Sorry!” There was the shortest of pauses. “It tickles, but the amount- amount of power you put into hitting me hurts me so much, Kyoka!” Yeah, this was starting off easy. He thought as he trudged on, knowing he had some lecturing to do.
