Damn, ppl do this waiting for a job offer thing all the time?
#Fucking sucks#I literally interviewed yesterday at 430pm and I'm already impatient#I also had the one thursday morning that I did which I found out I am currently the sole candidate for#Although I expect to see that change very soon because I learned that from another person in my program#Who is probably also going to apply though I'm not sure if she'd have much of an advantage over me ironically#Because she's vastly overqualified but it's also not in her degrees wheelhouse#And I'm also really hoping my travel partner is going to be given the chance to interview for the position#Because I think it'd suit them well and they didn't get a fair shot at it before even though they'd do great#Plus if I manage to get the other apparently exceedingly more competitive position I would get to work with either of them#And already know someone at the facility and even get to learn with them!!#It'd be a slightly different schedule though#Both days which everyone says is nice but I just don't like the idea of working a 6 am to 6 pm shift oof#The job where I'm currently the only candidate is an 8 am to 4 pm with the option to start and end earlier#The more flexible schedule definitely appeals to me#Also it's a supervisor job without ppl to supervise so that's closer to what I'm used to working with#But I joined this program to work on those ppl skills so I'm good with either position#I just think the less competitive one is really cool because it's unique and an interesting challenge#I know I sound like a baby but I also hope I won't have to do followup interviews#I've been so nervous this whole time trying to prepare and not flub it like I sorta did the first interview#But this last one was with one of the guys that I believe has a final say in who gets hired#So I hope his impression of me takes precedence over the external guy whose questions I kinda misinterpreted then fumbled through#I just really want to work in this facility and even if I don't land either of these jobs I'm going to apply to every damn job that pops up#Though I will be absolutely devestated if I don't get them first go#Cause technically I already lost one when they wouldn't even interview me#Which was understandable because my resume wasn't just a bit outdated after only 4 months but actually very bad and needed major work#Cause it made it seem like I was still in college and not a full time employee with a degree#I thought it just needed my current experience added but nah it required a huge overhaul to get it in working order again#So I feel like I really blew my chance there and was bummed that I couldn't even get a fighting chance by landing an interview#So when they let me interview for this one I was so excited! Like here's my chance!! And I think I did really well on the second one!#I'm just nervous that I'd mess up a followup interview or they'd end up telling me I wasnt a good enough fit

Worldbuilding Countries (Part 1)
I've lived in and visited a few countries in my life, which gave me a lot of inspiration for my fantasy novel. I'm not an expert, but I thought I'd share what I learned!
Climate
The climate will most likely come up at some point. Do you mention the cool breeze, or the orange leaves on the trees? All those nice weather descriptions will depend on the climate!
If you have a couple of different countries, it may be a little weird if they all have the same climate (especially if they are far away from each other), so there's a few things you can consider to make them a bit more specific.
Climate is of course a very complicated topic, so I will simplify it a bit.
Temperature
I like to pick a real country/city and look at its temperature graphs on Wikipedia. One important thing to note is that countries aren't simply colder/warmer than one another. I know a lot of people think that a country like Russia is cold all year round, but it is actually quite warm in summer. Some areas have a larger variation between temperature throughout the year than others (normally, the closer to the equator a country is, the less variation there is. They also tend to be warmer).
Look at Singapore:
The temperatures are basically stable all year round (the letters up top are the months). The numbers are the average minimum and maximum daily temperatures. You can see that on average the variation every day is less than 10°C.
Here is Moscow:
The temperature changes quite a lot throughout the year. Note that the maximum temperatures (summer) will occur at the opposite times of the year in the Southern Hemisphere.

This city is in the Southern hemisphere, so their coldest months are June and July :)
One thing you may have noticed is that the bars here are taller, which means that the variation for the daily min and max are higher too. Why is that? I'm simplifying it a bit, but generally, the dryer a place is, the more variation you will get in daily temperature. Which brings us to the next thing to consider:
Humidity/Precipitation
There are a few things to consider:
Rainfall. This can vary month-by-month, and due to some complicated factors, some countries have more rain in their colder months, some have more rain in their warmer months. Some places don't follow a neat pattern or stay consistent throughout the year. Have a look at climate pages on Wikipedia to get some ideas! Even just this page on Chile has a lot of cool examples. Each city is quite different!
Although of course the "wetness" of a country related to rainfall (e.g. you'd expect greener grass somewhere with more rainfall, brownish dry grass or a desert somewhere with less rainfall), it's not that simple. UK is a wet country, right? And if you've heard of Gold Coast (Australia) it seems pretty dry, right? Well, actually the Gold Coast gets twice as much precipitation (rain) as London!
To demonstrate, I took a screenshot (randomly selected street in each city) from Google Streetview.
Why this difference? I suspect it's because the Gold Coast is much hotter. Living in Australia, puddles are normally gone by the next day (often the rain even evaporates as it hits the ground!), but in UK, the puddles would always stay around for a while.
The UK is always mossy, often the clouds hang in the sky for ages. It can look quite grey. When it rains in the Gold Coast in summer, the raindrops evaporate as soon as they hit the pavement, which makes the air feel very humid and smell strongly of rain. You can use these sorts of sensory details in your stories :)
Also, one thing I noticed, is that in hotter weather, rain can be much more heavy than in colder weather. In Australia we often get heavy rain that causes flooding. In UK the rain usually dribbles all day but doesn't get heavy. In a place like the Gold Coast you can get rain that last 10 minutes but soaks you all the way through and floods the street.
The rainfall may also vary year-by-year. Australia goes through periods of floods and droughts that last a couple of years. The mechanism is a bit complicated so I won't go through it now, but it gives you something to google!
Humidity: Deserts have low humidity, which means that you can cool off more easily in the shade and the nights are colder. The breeze feels more refreshing at low humidity as your sweat evaporates.
High humidity (like Singapore) will feel much hotter at the same temperatures and it is normally still quite hot in the shade. High humidity feels really muggy, the air feels thick. The sweat doesn't evaporate as much, so you are left all wet and sticky. The breeze can feel much less refreshing because of this.
When the temperature is below freezing, the humidity gets very low, so your skin may need more moisturiser or your lips may crack.
Those are just some things to consider while describing your weather!
Generally, closer to the sea will be wetter, further inland is dryer. Have a look at some climate maps on Wikipedia, you will learn a lot! Climate is quite complicated since there are so many factors, so there's a lot you can do with it.
UV: This is one thing that people often forget about when they think about weather. In the UK, even on a very hot and sunny day, you are unlikely to get sunburnt (unless you are very pale). In Australia, you can get sunburnt very easily in even Tasmania, which is our coldest state, even when the temperatures are chilly.
You can't actually feel being sunburnt, which I fully understood when I visited Tasmania. I was freezing, but the whole time I was being sunburnt.
Normally, UV index is higher closer to the equator, which is why people who live closer to the equator tend to have darker skin. The melanin acts as protection against the sun. Still, this protection isn't perfect, so in the real world people in Africa used different methods to protect their skin, such as using clay as a "sunscreen".
Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. This is partially because most people in Australia have pale skin (originally from the UK), but the UV index is high.
This is something to consider in your story, since it can play a bigger role in behaviour than you'd expect if you live in a cold climate. In Australia, they recommend staying indoors between certain hours of the day to avoid sunburn, and if you do go out you should wear clothes that cover your skin, a wide-brimmed hat and sunscreen. Someone with very pale skin can get sunburnt in minutes. Wide-brimmed hats are compulsory at schools in Australia - you are not allowed to play if you forget your hat.
In low-UV areas, there is the opposite issue. People with darker skin can have problems getting vitamin D. Same goes for people who cover their skin with clothing (e.g. for religious reasons). However, this is a bit simpler to fix with some vitamin D supplements.
How do I use this for worldbuilding?
If you have a map of your countries, you may want to keep their location in mind when deciding on the climate :)
I like to draw up some graphs with the temperatures throughout the year for each country and some quick notes on the humidity, rainfall and UV.
You can also add some other elements to your story. Is it a fantasy? Maybe magic affects the weather! Sci-fi? You can play with the distance of the planet from the sun, axial tilt, sun size etc. (I won't go into that since it's a whole another topic and really complicated as well)
You probably don't need to know the exact details of the climate for most stories, but having a general idea will allow you to consistently describe what sorts of clothing your characters wear, the weather etc. Those are the sorts of things that comes up in almost every story (if it's long enough).

My Vision Of A Female!Darling Damian Would Become Obsessed With {Origin and Meeting}
Origin Start
I see this darling as a lab experiment design to be the perfect weapon, although the way she was made was lack for a better word "unique." The scientist made her embryo with specific DNA traits then put her into a fertilization tank, and once out of said tank, a "caretaker" was assigned to her.
This "caretaker" was only allowed to provide the basic necessities an infant needs and was prohibited from interacting or showing affection to her. They don't want their weapon to become soft and emotionally attached to anyone, but the "caretaker's" main assignment was to get her to walk as soon as possible to begin training.
Her training was brutal and strict. She would receive severe punishments for failure or not meeting the scientists' expectations. One of said punishments was the removal of her vocal chords and purposely leaving behind a nasty scar has a reminder to do better. The training was beyond cruel but did have results.
She's mastered all 180 fighting styles and the art of stealth while also having enough strength to break bones, all while having the best reflexes to catch flying knives with her mouth and the agility to dodge flying bullets.
For the longest time, the scientists thought she had the power of teleportation, but that's not the case. In reality, she was just fast. Fast enough to stand in your eyesight one minute, then make a run for it when you blink the next, making it seem like teleportation for the one who blinked. Thank god for having the stamina to pull that off, and the scientist seemed to approve of that little party trick she could do.
She seems like the best weapon, but that wasn't enough for the scientist. They wanted the perfect weapon, so that's why they put metahuman traits in her DNA.
She's able to manipulate her own blood when it's in her body and when it's out of her body. She's also able to manipulate other's blood as well, but only if her blood is mixed in with the target's own blood. Be it the target's blood is in a puddle on the floor or physically infecting the blood that's still in their body herself via cuts, puncture wounds, shaping her blood to take the form of tiny needles at her fingertips to pierce whoever she touches.
Another way she can manipulate her blood is the changing of her own blood type, like changing it to AB+ to O-. So far, she's able to master the manipulation of all eight major blood types. She's also learned to copy someone's DNA via blood, be it the individual is dead or alive.
It was obvious she would lose a lot of blood when in a conflict. So, to prevent her from dying by blood loss, they made sure she produced more blood than the average human.
They truly did make the perfect weapon, but one thing they didn't expect was to be betrayed by that very weapon. Why the betrayal? She refuses to submit to those who don't have her respect and grown adult men who hide behind a small child while said child fights their battles? They're weak cowards, but sadly, she needs their training. So she'll play nice for now until they are of no use to her. their use ran out by the time she was 13. Her breach was a mess, and she was a mees. Her poor hair. 😢
Opening the doors of her "home," she's come to know her location. Gotham City, home to many criminals and the notorious Batman.
She had finally done it, she rid herself of those men and earned her freedom. Although she did it, she didn't think about what comes after that. She's come to realize that she could never function as anything other than a fighting machine because being a weapon has always been her purpose and if it wasn't for The Batman she would of been labeled a villain instead of vigilante.
The Batman is a strong individual with a high intellect and a skilled fighter with a moral code he never strays from. There was no way he wouldn't have earned her respect, and because he has her respect, she'll follow his example to strike fear into the hearts of criminals and bring them to justice by becoming a vigilante as well.

Obsession Start
The first time Damian met his darling, he was still an Al Ghul, not a Wayne, and Bruce was unaware of his existence. He ran into her during one of his many missions in Gotham, so when spotting her Damian being Damian, tried to kill her on sight only to have his ass handed to him. So there he was, exhausted and restrained by what he could only assume is blood with multiple cuts, bruises, and broken bones all in and over his body, with a nasty black eye to match.
The girl raised her hand to what he assumed was to kill him, only for her to start tapping on the wall closest to them. But that was not any tapping it was morse code.
°This is not your city. it's Batman's. Know your place, and leave Al Ghul.°
With a roundhouse kicked to the head, Damian was out like a light. Upon awakening, Damain found himself up in the mountains far outside of Gotham City. How can he tell? Because even if he's lying down, he just needs to turn his head, and there is Gotham City. Sitting up, he winced, becoming aware of his many injuries.
He replayed the battle in his head, that girl was around if not the same age as him, yet she had shown skill that went beyond her years and that blood manipulation of hers was quite impressive. Remembering the way he was restrained on his knees forced to look up towards her, he felt unusual doing so, and that stare made an irresistible chill go down his spine.
With her eyes on him like that something within Damain shift and he became intrigued and dare he say infatuated. It also helps that she was quite the looker too.
It's been a week since Damian started to follow his newest and favorite target. Where she goes, he goes, be it on patrols or fighting criminals. Damian loves seeing her fight it has to be the most attractive thing he's ever seen. He tried pinpointing what part he found attractive. Was it her engaging in combat? When she uses her metahuman powers? Her breaking bones effortlessly? Whatever it is, she's one helluva girl. Yes, she's a strong girl who can protect herself and is not some damsel in distress, so why is Nightwing acting like her white knight?
Apparently, teamups with Nightwing and Batman are a normal occurrence for her, especially teaming up with Nightwing. Whenever Damian sees her teamuping with the Batman, it's strictly professional, but he can see the respect she holds for the man, and Damian wants her to respect him too. He'll need to investigate the Dark Knight and see what she respects about him. Who knows, maybe he'll be useful.
But Nightwing? He needs to stay away from what's his or else. When they team up, it's clear their relationship is more personal than professional, unlike her relationship with Batman. It's infuriating seeing them so close, doesn't that bird knows not to mess with another man's woman!? Who does he think he's messing with?! He is Damian Al Ghul, the heir to the League of Assassins and the son of a demon!
"Hey Luna, we're still on for tomorrow?"
°and miss out going to the spa? Wouldn't dream of it, Nightwing.°
.....They know each others civilian identities? Are they that close? No, this is the last straw he needs to do something about this, but what? Well, luck must be on his side because here he is standing in the Wayne manor with his father Bruce Wayne, or should he say Batman. Looks like the Dark Knight will be useful after all.
But it looks like Nightwing comes by to the manor every so often, or should he say Dick Grayson, his new brother. Dick has his own place, but he also sleeps at the manor sometimes. Damian would use those opportunities to get him out of the picture and away from his girl, but Bruce catches him every time.
So, as a way to keep an eye on him and teach him the value of human life, Bruce made Damian Robin. Damian wasn't happy, to say the least, but...
"Robin meet Red Luna she teams up with us every so often, and now she'll be teaming up with you."

Maybe being Robin can be useful.

Robin Buckley/Nancy Wheeler, 912 words, Not Actually Unrequited Love
According to Nancy, there were many wonderful things about falling in love with Robin Buckley. For starters, the way that Robin’s presence, or just the thought of her, immediately makes everything better. Hawkins was better because Robin was there. The world was more exciting because Robin wanted to explore it all someday. Nancy herself felt like a better, happier person because of Robin’s involvement in her life.
Unfortunately, though, there were a few terrible, terrible things about liking Robin. Starting with the fact that Robin knew Nancy liked her.
It hadn’t happened on purpose. It was just that Nancy had never quite learned how to behave during a high school party, even though the world seemed like it had gone back to normal. She was too drunk, Robin was too kind, too close, and too much of a reminder of the months they grew closer and closer.
“You know? I realized I really like you, Robin. Not like a friend, I mean, more than a friend,” Nancy slurred, happy, even though she was seeing Robin double. Afterward, she wasn’t very sure of what she said. Probably something along the lines of, “It’s weird, isn’t it?” or “I don’t know what to do about it,” or “Oh… I think I’m going to throw up now…”
It was safe to say it didn’t go very well. But she knew it happened. She knew Robin had heard her and that Robin wasn’t drunk enough to forget it. What she also knew was that in the weeks since then, Robin hadn’t changed the way she acted around Nancy at all. They didn’t talk about it, they didn’t drift apart from each other, they didn’t grow closer. Nothing. It was driving Nancy mad. Robin was still a bright light in her life, always striving to make her laugh, soft with her like she wasn’t anyone else, and physically affectionate enough to make Nancy feel like she was going to die because, actually, it wasn’t enough.
Nancy was wise enough not to attempt another high school party that had never ended well for her. Somehow, she was more at home, surrounded by her younger brother and his small crowd of friends, and, of course, with Robin’s arm wrapped around her shoulders. Nancy was trying to be strong but, after some everyday biting retort at Mike, she earned not only Robin’s expected warm laughter, but a proud kiss on the side of her head. Nancy felt herself blush in equal parts affection and frustration.
“Why are you doing this?” Nancy whispered with thinly concealed distress.
“Hm? What?” Robin mumbled.
Instantly, Nancy flinched away from her and stormed out of the basement, up the stairs, all the way up to her bedroom. She knew that Robin would follow, and that was both a comfort and a new source of pain.
“Nancy? What happened?” Robin asked her as soon as she carefully stepped into Nancy’s room behind her, softly closing the door.
Nancy had already told Robin once how she felt about her, she thought she could get through it again, even if sober. She took a deep breath and although her voice broke, she said, “You’re the sweetest person I know, Robin. You’re incapable of being this cruel. So I just need to know why…”
“Nancy, what are you talking about? I would never hurt you, Nancy, I…” Robin gulped, looked desperately around her, and finally said, “What did I do?”
“You know how I feel about you,” Nancy blurted out. Not exactly saying the full truth out loud but, judging by the change in Robin’s expression, it was enough. “You know. I told you. And you didn’t even react! And I just… I don’t expect you to feel the same, okay? I get it. But you didn’t have to… Completely disregard my feelings! Act like it was nothing, like it didn’t matter! I’ll get over you, Robin. I promise. I have to do it, because I can’t… I can’t lose you, even as a friend. This is temporary but… Shit, Robin, you could’ve said something.”
At the end of her speech, Nancy was breathless and lightheaded, leaning one leg against her bed for stability. Robin looked pale and thoroughly shocked.
“I was scared…” Robin whispered.
“How’d you think I felt?”
Robin winced, but pushed through. “I’m sorry,” she said, a little more confidently after clearing her throat. “I was scared you didn’t mean it.” Those words cracked Nancy’s heart open, but she tried to reign in her hope. “I was scared to tell you I felt the same way and then you’d tell me that you were just drunk and it didn’t mean anything,” Robin said with a shaky smile. “I’m sorry I was a coward, you deserved better,” Robin said, her blue eyes opened wide and earnest, stealing Nancy’s breath away. “But… Uh, just in case, let me say I hope those feelings aren’t temporary. I know that mine aren’t. I like you too, I’m crazy about you, Wheeler.”
In the time it took Robin to finish talking, Nancy had closed the distance between them. “Was that so difficult to say?” she asked, with a small smile. She reached out and cradled Robin’s face in her palms. She felt the taller girl instantly sigh and relax.
“Yeah, actually it was terrifying,” Robin chuckled, but she looked too happy to show her usual anxiety. “You could’ve said something earlier too, you know…”
Instead, Nancy interrupted her with a kiss.

Ikemen Sengoku - Kanetsugu

Mai: “Huh?”
(A ceremony in this era?)
His unexpected invitation took me by surprise.
(I probably mastered basic etiquette by now, thanks to Shingen and Yoshimoto’s training, so this is my chance to check my skills.)
Mai: “I’d like to participate, please!”
Shingen chuckled as I nodded vigorously.
Shingen: “Okay. Then I’ll arrange it.”
Shingen: “I look forward to that day.”
Shingen winked somewhat mischievously.
That night, I quickly informed Kanetsugu that I would leave the castle the next day.
Kanetsugu: “I don’t mind you going out, but what on earth will you be doing there?”
Mai: “Um. Actually, I’m gonna attend an acquaintance’s wedding.”
(Would it be suspicious if I suddenly started talking like this?)
Although I was inwardly on edge, Kanetsugu didn’t ask any more questions.
Kanetsugu: “Okay. Have fun, but don’t get too carried away.”
Mai: “Okay!”
(Thank goodness. It looks like he doesn’t know that it’s part of my bridal training.)
A few days later.
Maid 1: “Lady Mai, right? We’re expecting you.”
Maid 2: “Come this way, please.”
Mai: “What? U-Um...”
As soon as I arrived at the venue, the maid showed up and took me to the waiting room.
(How did this happen?)
She told me that I needed to change my clothes, and in a matter of seconds, I was dressed in a pure white uchikake.
[Uchikake is a highly formal kimono worn by a bride]
(So this is the so-called “white kimono.”)
At that moment, the sliding door slid open, revealing一
Mai: “Kanetsugu!?”
Speechless to see him in an unexpected place, Kanetsugu also stared at me, dumbfounded.
(Why is he here...?)
Kanetsugu: “That took me by surprise.”
Mai: “What?”
I quickly reacted as he muttered something halfway to himself, then looked at me again.
Kanetsugu: “That white kimono looks good on you.”
(----!)
My heart skipped a beat at his unexpected compliment.
Mai: “Really? I’m kind of uncomfortable because they suddenly made me wear it.”
(I still don’t understand what’s happening.)
Kanetsugu: “Don’t worry, it’s not flattery. It’s just attractive enough to catch my eye.”
Mai: “Thank you.”
My cheeks burned even harder, and my voice shook as I said this.
(I wanted to ask him why he was here, but I lost my timing.)
He stared at me, and I was embarrassed as we faced each other.
Maid: “Lady Mai, it really suits you.”
Mai: “Huh? You guys...”
She wasn’t the maid who had just helped me change my clothes.
They were all the maids working at Kasugayama Castle.
Maid: “We will now begin the wedding ceremony of Lady Mai and Lord Kanetsugu.”
Mai: “!?”
(Wait, wait, wait! Whose wedding did she just say!?)
Still stunned, the ceremony began solemnly.
Kanetsugu: “Mai. Come here.”
Mai: “Kanetsugu.”
He took my hand and led me to sit down next to him.
(He’s right next to me.)
That was all I needed to ease my anxiety.
Maid: “Excuse me.”
The maid poured the sake into the cup prepared in front of us.
Kanetsugu: “Don’t worry. Just imitate me.”
He picked up the sake cup and drank it down.
I imitated him and took a sip of the sake, and he poured another into the empty one.
This continued exactly three times.
(I’m pretty sure this is the “Sankon no Gi” ceremony. It’s similar to the modern San San Kudo.)
[Sankon no Gi, or the drinking of the sake: The bride and the groom share three cups of sake. They each take three sips in turn from each cup to seal their bond as a married couple.]
[San san kudo is a sake sharing ceremony that is very common in Shinto Japanese weddings. During this Japanese wedding tradition, the bride and groom take three sips of sake from three stacked cups.]
I learned from Shingen and Yoshimoto that it was a ritual performed during wedding ceremonies.
(It’s like I’m really having a wedding with him.)
I quietly looked at Kanetsugu.
Kanetsugu: “..........”
He noticed my gaze and gave me a soft smile, making my heart flutter.
Kanetsugu: “Mai.”
Suddenly, he reached his hand to my face.
(Is he going to kiss me?)
I quickly closed my eyes.
(Mn...)
His fingers, a little stiff, gently wipe my lips.
He continued to trace it and slowly moved away.
(Huh?)
When I opened my eyes, his handsome face was up close.
Kanetsugu: “There was a droplet on it.”
(Droplet? Oh, I see. From the sake I just had.)

When the lips he traced earlier suddenly tickled me and made my heart beat faster一

I heard someone's voice from the hallway, and the door slid open.
Shingen: "Oh? This one's a beautiful bride."
Yoshimoto: "It's true. It's just like the white kimono."
Mai: "Shingen, Yoshimoto? What's the meaning of this?"
When I finally got a chance to ask and call out to them, they nodded at each other and began to explain.
Yoshimoto: "I already told Kanetsugu about your recent efforts to learn about marriage."
Yoshimoto: "The dark circles around your eyes proved you've been studying hard and putting a lot of effort into this."
Shingen: "We can see you're really curious, so we prepared this."
(In other words, a trial wedding!)
Yoshimoto: "That's why you two can spend the rest of the day as you please."
Shingen and Yoshimoto left, leaving only me and Kanetsugu behind.
Mai: "You knew all along."
Kanetsugu: "If you think you can hide it from me, you're mistaken."
Kanetsugu said dismissively and then gently stroked my cheek.
Kanetsugu: "I know you're a dedicated and hardworking person."
Kanetsugu: "I also know that you're reckless beyond necessary."
He stroked my cheek gently, making my heart squeeze.
Kanetsugu: "I've been worried about you ever since you started thinking about marriage."
Kanetsugu: "That's why I asked Shingen and Yoshimoto in advance to contact me if there were any problems."
Kanetsugu: "And sure enough, the news of the bridal training reached me."
Mai: "You saw through everything."
(He helped me secretly. I feel kind of sorry for myself when I think about that.)
I was training to be a bride worthy of him, but I can't say I've achieved that.
Kanetsugu: "Hey, why are slumping your shoulders?"
Mai: "Because there's no way I can support you after we get married like this."
Hearing this, he looked at me and then shook his head.
Kanetsugu: "I didn't hint about marriage expecting something like that."
Mai: "What?"
Kanetsugu: "For me, there's only one reason to marry you."
Kanetsugu: "And that's because I love you. That's all."
Mai: "Kanetsugu..."
Kanetsugu: "Or were you more interested in the Naoe family's lineage instead of me?"
Mai: "No. I wanted to keep loving you for the rest of my life."
Mai: "I don't want you to think I married you because of your family background!"
Kanetsugu: "Then we're the same."
When he told me this, I finally realized.
(I thought I had to become a woman worthy of him, even though he didn't ask me to.)
(I even left behind the "real me" he fell in love with.)

Mai: "Kanetsugu, I..."
Kanetsugu: "No, don't apologize."
Kanetsugu: "Right now, I'd rather touch you than that."

Holding me close, he took my lips in a biting kiss that took my breath away.
My heart beat faster, and I clung to his arm like a drowning person.

I called his name between kisses, and he devoured me even more deeply.

When I looked up, my gaze met his wisteria-colored eyes.
His narrowed eyes convey an inexpressible love, making me catch my breath.
Kanetsugu: "Today is just a practice. We will formally hold the ceremony at some point."
Kanetsugu: "Not right now, but as I said before, not too far off."
Kanetsugu: "Please wait until then."
Mai: "Of course!"
A warm joy filled my heart instantly.
Mai: "I won't rush, but I'll keep learning because I don't want to take your kindness for granted."
Mai: "I swear on this kiss."
This time, I gently pressed my lips against his.
Kanetsugu: "You..."
Kanetsugu: "Don't think you can get away with this."
He said this with a low growl and pushed me down.
Kanetsugu: "I'm renting this place out for three days. No one will disturb us here."
(Three days? Ah...)
(Right. Ceremonies in this era last for three days. And right now, we're alone in this room.)
Kanetsugu chuckled when he saw me blushing.
Kanetsugu: "It looks like you've really learned a lot about this world."
Kanetsugu: "Let's see how well you've learned so far."
He kissed me, and that's when I realized I was about to be loved seductively.

I apologize in advance, but I'm going to blather a lot about this.
This song is really special to me because it reminds me of a particular time in my life, specifically of a winter ... the one of the lockdown.
I remember that the first time I listened to Stella, the first thing which caught me out of guard was the music and the very peculiar vibe. Both had a strange effect on me, conveying a feeling of immensity as well as being perfectly capable of making me imagine that I was scattered in a galaxy, although at that first listen I had no idea what the song was about, and the title had me more imagining something to do with idols (lol, no).
I can't quite explain this, but I remember that I literally freezed when the piano started playing and a sense of powerful nostalgia immediately hit me hard. Because. Wtf was THAT???? I didn't expected such a vibe??? (gradually my mind started to create a connection with my childhood memories of Dragon Ball GT (LOL)).
And then, the narration started.
I understood little to no Japanese at the time, so I couldn't have even remotely grasped any words that might provide me with a start on the content of the song, but as soon as Dice's rap started, I immediately screamed WOOOOHH??! What is this stuff??? SO COOL, OMG???
And then Gentaro.
There, gentlemen, Gentaro's part was something exceptional to hear for the first time. The atmosphere between his first stanza and the second one is COMPLETELY different and the way he closes with the last verse, "ore mo ubai satte kure MESSAIAAAH〜"
KYAAAHHHHH!!! SO SEXY?!?!? SO FU****G HOT.
Then Ramuda's part, with that mechanical tone and that way of breaking sentences and words that is extraordinarily difficult to follow ...
So here's the chorus ... and that single chord on the word "starlight", with that change in tone that gave me a sense of immensity (???), that kidnapped my heart.
The second part of the song, in which a real dialogue between the members begins, intrigued me even more because there I could pick up on something, actually, and I wanted to understand why the hell DICE had such a serious tone in this damn (affectionate) song. It was so strange, for him!!!
In conclusion, at the end of listening, I pounced to look for a translation.
And my world changed.
I came to know that this song was plotted as a Gentaro's story (and that alone, to me, is simply brilliant) about a bandit, a king and a scientist whose respective planets are in ruins, for one reason or another. But they all find themselves gazing at the same falling star and thus begins a journey through the galaxy, which will see member after member recruited on this journey, tearing each of them out of their ruined reality...Until the scientist, the hardest to convince. But the words and support of the other two will be able to bring him, too, out of the dark into the light...and make him too take part in that wonderful journey.
We can understand this as a metaphor for the Fling Posse and the relationship that subsists between them:
The shooting star represents them as a group, their union;
The journey could represent the inner discovery that the three of them are taking together, to get to know each other better and trust each other, to the point of creating a true and indissoluble bond;
The scientist, who doesn't trust others and sees no meaning into joining them, is clearly the Ramuda of the past who, thanks to Gentaro and Dice, gradually learns to want to live and to truly trust his companions;
Also, funny to see how the role of the king was assigned to Dice, considering that he's the son of the governor, in the Hypmic universe.
Well. Wow.
Wonderful.
My heart is yours, Fling Posse.
So, Stella was THE song by Fling Posse that made me reach the concrete certainty that they, from that moment on, would have to be my favorite division, without any doubt. It's a song that had a very special effect on me from the very first listen. I can't quite describe what it feels like, as I hear it. It may also be the fact that I particularly love anything that has to do with the universe and galaxies, so I would say that the vibe described is perfect for me lol.
It's a song that I can't skip when it starts playing and it gets me every time. It's not for nothing that my level of obsession is such that I made a journal spread (link) and a mini MV (link).

Doraemon Movie Review: Nobita in the Robot Kingdom (2002)
What is Doraemon? The title character of the Doraemon manga and anime is a blue robotic cat from the 22nd Century who keeps an array of high-tech gadgets in a portable pocket dimension on his belly, and has traveled from the future to improve the fortunes of a hapless schoolboy named Nobita. Although relatively obscure in the English-speaking world, Doraemon is a Mickey-Mouse-level cultural icon in East Asia (and some other regions, too). The Doraemon franchise was a big part of my childhood, and there are still elements of it that I enjoy now.
Doraemon has released theatrical films almost annually since 1980, most of which involve Nobita and his friends (kind Shizuka, brash Gian, and crafty Suneo) getting swept into adventures thanks to Doraemon's gadgets. Despite being of potentially broad appeal to fans of science fiction and animated films, there are very few English reviews of the Doraemon movies, so I'm embarking on a project to write about all the films that have come out so far. Good luck to me…
Movie premise: Nobita and his friends rescue a lost robot boy, who comes from a planet where humans and robots once lived in harmony.
My spoiler-free take: A compelling story that packs some strong emotional punches, but flubs a crucial character arc. I suspect it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon, but I’d like to see a remake of this one!
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT
Review: It must be something about robots that brings out the emotional stories in Doraemon movies. That probably shouldn’t be a surprise, because one of the most important themes of the franchise is, after all, the friendship between a robot and a human. The dramatic setup here is an interesting one for a Doraemon film, as we learn that the robot boy Poko was the childhood playmate of one of the major antagonists, the tyrannical Queen Jeanne, with both of them having grown up under the care of another robot, Maria. For most part, the movie gets a lot of mileage out of this premise, and the scene near the end where Doraemon and Maria deliver what they fully expect to be their last words to their respective charges is especially heartwrenching.
However, there is one way in which this movie drops the ball considerably on its emotional journey: the queen’s character development happens far too quickly! Barely a montage passes before she has a change of heart. I wondered whether this was also the case in the manga adaptation of this story*, so I had a look.
*Although the original author of the Doraemon manga, Fujiko F. Fujio, passed away in 1996, his company Fujiko Pro continued to produce manga counterparts to the films for a while following his death. My understanding is that the films and their associated manga that were made after Fujio’s passing were developed in parallel from a shared story outline, instead of one being directly adapted from the other.
As it turns out, it takes much more for Jeanne to come around in the manga, including getting smacked in the face by Shizuka!
(Damn.)
I have to say, I really wish this version of the story had been used in the film, not only because it would have improved Jeanne’s character arc, but also because Shizuka doesn’t get very much to do in the movie proper. In fact, many of the newer Doraemon films (remakes aside) don’t seem to know what to do with Shizuka, as has been summarized very well by @creepfactors. Whereas Nobita, Gian, and even Suneo often get to display more rarely-seen sides of their personalities in the movies, she is mainly just cast as “the nice one”, which is already her default role in the group.
In truth, Shizuka is not such a one-note character in the mainline series. There are times when she can be very direct with her words and quick to anger towards perceived slights. Lashing out in the name of justice for a vulnerable child is absolutely something she would do, yet would be unprecedented in a Doraemon movie!
There are other elements of the manga that I would have liked to see in the movie, too. For example, Poko’s ability to remotely pinpoint Maria’s location seemingly comes out of nowhere close to the end of the film, but in the manga it is mentioned that he was unable to do so earlier in the story because he had a damaged antenna. The manga also indicates that the roboticist Dr. Chapek repaired Doraemon’s Time Machine so that the protagonists could return home at the end of the story, whereas the movie never explains how the Time Machine was fixed.
Given that this is a relatively recent Doraemon film, I’m guessing that it’s not high on the priority list for a remake. However, I think it would benefit a lot from one! Newer Doraemon movies are generally longer than those that came out prior to the 2005 anime reboot, which would give a hypothetical remake of Nobita in the Robot Kingdom more room to include the aforementioned items. Furthermore, the remakes often use material from the manga that was left out of the original films.
Do I have anything else left to note? This movie might contain one of Doraemon’s most impressive feats in the series: charging into the main villain’s lair by himself and taking down the villain unarmed. It’s also funny how ready Nobita is to go on an adventure in this film. The moment that Doraemon determines that they need to travel to another planet, Nobita essentially declares, ��Leave that to us!” Quite a contrast to how timid he usually is in the regular stories!

Hiiii! :) I saw that your ships were open and thought I would request one if you're still doing them 💕
I'm 5'4", and have olive skin and dark hair (although my hair type is a weird combo of straight/wavy, and tends to have auburn undertones in the sun). I'm a Slytherin and INTP-T, if those mean anything lol.
Currently, I'm a student, and I'm very close to finishing my degree in History. No clue what I want to do with it once I'm done, but my dream career would be to write children's books. (Which is kind of ironic because I have that ADHD/Dyslexia combo going on, so you wouldn't really expect me to want to write - although I do have a very active imagination and constantly daydream about things) I hate the cold, but I'm always looking for outdoor adventures and activities like hiking.
Personality wise, I'm pretty introverted and observant, and a lot of people mistake my shyness for me being rude, even if I don't mean to come across that way. However, I'm at that point in my life where I really don't mind how people view me anymore, so I kind of just do what I want and vibe without worry anymore. I also am in the habit of just jumping into my car and driving off on little adventures by myself whenever I want a change of scene, which has given me a lot of fun experiences and taught me a lot about myself

Fictober 2022, #11,or The One In Which Howl Finds A New Place To Keep His Clothes
Prompt: “Think! For once!“

Pairings: Howl/Sophie
Sophie would admit that she wasn’t overly fond of her sister-in-law, which was mostly due to Meghan’s inability to grasp the basic concepts of magic. After all, she was the one living in a world with horseless carriages – and yet she still insisted that what she had gone through at the hands of the Witch of the Waste was impossible! Sophie had never closed her eyes on the truth just because she considered it impossible or inconvenient; it had always struck her as a rather impractical and dishonest way to live one’s life.
There were some things she had learned from Meghan,. However, and one of those things was to take a deep breath and count to ten whenever Howl did something that annoyed her. Sophie herself considered the fact that Meghan was able to calm down like that a form of magic too, although she had yet to tell her, one, because again, Meghan didn’t think much of magic, and two, she wasn’t completely certain that it worked because she certainly hadn’t gotten the hang of it.
For example, today, she only made it to Two before shouting “HOWL!!!”
“Yes, dear?” he asked, skipping into the kitchen with that devastating grin she refused to admit she loved on his face.
“What is this???” she indicated the kitchen cupboard, which until yesterday had held food, as it was meant to do. Now, though…
“Well, you told me to find a new place for my clothes!”
She tried the breathing and counting again and almost made it to three this time. “And what happened to the food?”
“I gave it to Michael, you know Martha can always use new ingredients to try out recipes.”
Alright, this time she didn’t even attempt to calm down. “And what are we supposed to eat?”
“We can get new groceries” he simply said, letting himself fall down on the kitchen bench, looking as relaced as he had ever been.
“Oh? Can we? And where will we put them? Think! For once!”
He looked at her and sighed, throwing his arms in the air. “I really think you’re taking the newly-wed thing a bit too far, dearest. I mean, I already agreed not to keep spiders in the bedroom –“
“Don’t think I haven’t seen your room full of spiders yet!”
His face fell. “You know?”
“Of course – I told the house to show me any hidden rooms. Did you really think I wouldn’t suspect!!!?”
She had made a point to search the castle, simply because it was always possible that Howl would overlook dangerous things or simply be too lazy to change anything about them, but after thinking ab out it, she had decided to let him keep the spiders in that room since she had very firmly told them this was where they were expected to stay, and under no circumstances did she want to see a spiderweb anywhere else. So far she had been successful.
But this is where she drew the line. The kitchen was for food, not for – “Is that another new suit?”
“I bought it to celebrate our wedding.”
“You already wore new clothes to our wedding!” she howled, “You even tried to make me get this white impractical dress!”

Then, suddenly, he was standing in front of her, and God, how she wished he wouldn’t look at her like that, like she was the most important person in the world, because it made it very hard to stay mad at him. “How about a compromise?” he asked. “I can get all the clothes I want, as long as I keep them in cupboards that are not In the kitchen?”
She gave in, mostly because she was annoyed at the fight itself anyway already. “Fine. But you’re going to take them out right –“
“Oh, trust me – ” he told her, putting a hand on her hip to pull her close.
“Absolutely not.”
He pouted. “I will do so very soon, you overactive young thing.”
“Very soon? I can think of no possible reason not to do it right this mo –“
His lips on hers were all the answer he would give her, and she supposed there was at least one good reason for not insisting that he clean up this particular mess immediately, but made a note to herself not to tolerate this kind of behaviour in the future as he scooped her up in a bridal carry to bring her upstairs.

Wanderer and Faruzan First Impressions
Wow, I wasn’t expecting I’d be doing another First Impressions on two BRAND NEW characters so soon. Actually... I tell a lie. One of these characters we have seen before, just not in their current form, and they are now known as the Wanderer.
I am of course talking about Scaramouche, whose debut as a playable character has been long-awaited since he first appeared all the way back in version 1.1, in the Unreconciled Stars event. He comes to us bearing a palette swap and... an Anemo Vision...?
Yeah, that does seem a bit odd. Fans of Scaramouche might be a little disappointed to see these changes, as this redesign is arguably less cool than his original getup, and the Anemo Vision is an odd choice. To me though it says a lot about his character development and there are some very notable differences between OG Scara and his new Wanderer design.
For starters, there’s a very strong implication that Scaramouche will either lose his memory or have a change of heart following the events of the upcoming Archon Quest, wherein I assume we’ll be kicking his ass with the help of Nahida. That’s the only explanation I can think of for why he’d go through such a drastic change and be willing to join the Traveler on their adventure.
Then there’s the matter of the Vision. You may have noticed its shape, which indicates that it was given to Scaramouche in Sumeru. Obviously this is a brand new Vision, and even more curious is that Scaramouche didn’t have a Vision before this. Which raises even more questions for me, like how was Scaramouche so powerful if he didn’t even have a Vision before? This is obviously the case while he’s a member of the Fatui Harbingers because he ranks higher than Signora, and Miko confirms this, even though she says it after she’s already given him the Gnosis.
In any case, I’m sure we’ll learn quite a lot from his inevitable Story Quest in version 3.3, including what exactly happened in the aftermath of our battle with him if it wasn’t already made clear. I’m also curious to see if his relationship to Ei gets brought up. Maybe they have a mother-son reunion or something, that’d be cute. We’ll just have to see though.
Okay, let’s have a look at our second reveal for version 3.3.
So here we have Faruzan, sporting an elegant white dress that is also surprisingly colorful. She doesn’t strike me in the same way that Layla did as a surprise reveal, but she is very pretty and also quite cute.
She is yet another Anemo Vision holder, making her the same as the Wanderer. Bit of an odd decision from HoYoverse here, adding two characters of the same element in one update. With Collei and Tighnari it made sense, because we didn’t have any Dendro characters prior to their arrival, but Anemo has been in the game since launch. Perhaps they’re trying to add some diversity to the element, pushing it away from the standard Elemental Mastery, succ, and just being very OP in general.
We’re given a little bit of information about Faruzan as well, as is the standard practice whenever HoYoverse reveals a new character. She’s a member of the Akademiya, known for assisting Kshahrewar students with their studies, although strangely she’s a member of the Haravatat Darshan. Yet, she is also shunned by the Haravatat for some unknown reason.
Faruzan is also apparently more than a century old, and she’s the first non-Archon, non-adeptus (and non-Khaenri’ah) character to my knowledge to sport such an impressive lifespan. Really makes you wonder how she does it, but she seems not to like it when you express surprise at her youth. Whatever it is, she clearly has some sort of secret.
There was a lot to unpack about our new reveals this time around, which has left me very interested in what their full stories are. If I had to choose one to gacha for based on first impressions alone, I’d probably go for Faruzan although she’s most likely a 4-Star character. I don’t have anything against Scaramouche but I dunno, he just doesn’t appeal to me that much. Definitely has cool lore though.

Hi guys!
I forgot to post my schedule last month, but I think you already know my pace of writing.
Nevertheless, here is a rough scheme of my publications for those who are not familiar with me yet.
Sunday - is Dramione day with my main fic for this ship (which is the first one as well), where I explore in detail their emotions and attraction to each other. Forbidden Potion Ao3 Patreon Wattpad
Monday - the day I usually post drafts for upcoming chapters, scenes and even full-plot-stories exclusively on Patreon.
Tuesday - a day of temporary projects - such as Felinette Akuma Shenanigans (Ao3 Patreon Wattpad), text fics like Only Yesterday (Ao3 Patreon Wattpad) or others like a project for personal growth Felinette Life Lessons (Ao3 Patreon Wattpad).
Wednesday - I post another temporary project, but for Dramione, in which I explored the characters, letting them talk, which turned into a whole fic with 7 texting-chapters and one full-fledged one at the end. Saturday - My Naked Baby this is another adult Felinette fic that I am writing to relieve tension while the events of Sexting Time develop in their own speed. a really long and slightly unhinged thoughts and feelings dump about tales of vesperia: first strike
love these frames a lot actually bc you can immediately see the tone being set for both of their characters. flynn being extremely serious and determined and yuri just looking bored, straight away showing how being here isnt really for him. even down to the little detail of his collar being unbuttoned, he does not belong here.
followed by a montage of essentially, yuri just following flynn. its such a simple narrative device but it works so great to displace him. always a step behind flynn, really demonstrating how right now he isnt following his own path but is instead being led along.
i think the movie very blatantly sets up how it will be a journey of both of them growing up. i actually really love how it manages to place yuri as a clear protagonist yet manages to be pretty equally about him and flynn with an overarching arch about the greater world story.
very soon thereafter yuri is practically thrown into a position where he has to grow up. forced to kill off a shell of his comrade and also live with that guilt as he now has to repent and take responsibility. his attitude towards repede changes from seeing him as a nuisance to actively caring for him, checking up on him in the middle of the night, and overfeeding him to fill the hole in his heart (lmao)
this part gets to me because up until now we have mostly just seen them bicker and argue and i think here this was yuri genuinely trying to reach out and seek support but instead ends up being faced with hostility which leads to their major clash. which btw is my fav part of the movie. i think this escalation works really well for them
and to be exact this is probably my favourite line of the movie. yuri deliberately provoking flynn to get him to be fucking real and stop pretending. kinda raw imo. like he’d rather get the shit beaten out of him and it be genuine than have to watch flynn try to upkeep his little fake persona
that being said i dont think his persona is fully just him being fake. i think he’s carrying a lot of baggage and trauma throughout this movie. all the repressed anger and desire to uphold ideals. be the perfect knight follow the orders, thats right. straying from orders and acting on your own gets you killed. its an internal struggle. a desire for things to be simple, black and white, etc
i think this is one of the reasons why i ended up liking the movie so much, i just feel like it adds a lot of depth to flynn’s character. in the game story line he’s fairly put together - neat and proper. but in fs he’s just oh so god damn angry and immature, as expected of a growing up storyline. but nonetheless, i just love seeing him in this conflicted enraged state. and i think it adds more gravitas to his character in the game as we now know composure doesnt come naturally to him and he had his own issues to resolve and grapple with before he could become this reliable ‘boring’ character he is in the game
meanwhile yuri receives a somewhat contrasting lesson. if you want to protect things dear to you, you need to take matters into your own hands. he’s learnt this first hand and it is now being reaffirmed, it could be argued that repede is the first thing he has wanted to protect
this i include because i thin its a very clear signifier to the change in his character. yuri at the start of this movie is very laid back, goofy, playful doesnt really wanna be there. but now he is forced to grapple with the concept of morality, sacrifice and choice. he becomes an active participant in the knight’s mission, really pushing for it and supporting the cause. he joins the knights because he has ‘nothing better to do’ but now he is learning about the importance of protecting others, and treasuring those dear to you.
and then he loses another friend. although this sacrifice is not in vain as it is for the good of the people, he’s still forced into a position where he in essence has to let someone dear to him die. this film is extremely brutal in showing yuri how unfair the world is, and forces him to make a lot of tough choices. which i think very clearly then reflect in the game story line, these choices he’s being forced to make here reflect the ones he makes in the game
in his own way flynn is also learning about sacrifice, and how it isnt always meaningless. he is first hand seeing how fredrock’s actions have impacted the common people. because he took a risk, these people now live. its a bittersweet lesson but i think her flynn can finally let go of some of the baggage he has been holding onto in regards to his dad. it teaches him the kind of knight he wants to be and reinforces what matters the most - people.
finally, in juxtaposition with their arguing and bickering at the start of the movie they are finally able to look at each other earnestly, and be honest with one another. they finally grew up and can acknowledge their own strengths, and take their own paths knowing that each is searching for his own way to make the world better. they are forever bonded by their experiences.
in contrast to the opening montage, by the end of the movie yuri walks past flynn not even looking back. finally ready to take his own path
some closing thoughts mostly shippy thoughts:
i think what i really liked about the movie is that prior to it i had a fairly two dimensional headcanon of their relationship, with flynn just being a simp for yuri, and yuri just being an easy going guy and accepting that love. (again this is just a headcanon i built in my head). a very giver receiver type deal. but in the movie i feel like flynn is just so angry?? he’s just so mad at the world and doesnt know how to navigate his emotions. and while they clearly have a history they almost dont get along? or more like, they know each other incredibly well but they’re not really understanding each other
so while at first my head canon for them was pretty unbalanced i think the movie essentially just added depth to them as characters and balanced out their dynamic for me. knowing yuri had to deal with this angry bratty flynn puts them on a more equal footing for me when flynn has to deal with all of yuri’s bs
because i think it’s true of real relationships that at different times different parties will be more on the giver or receiver end, meeting each other’s needs and being there for each other. so when i didn’t have this backstory for yuri really coming through for flynn (like, sticking with him and helping him understand his dads death wasnt in vain ultimately helping him overcome his trauma). before this the relationship in my head almost felt one sided or as if one liked the other a lot more. but yeah i think yuris words and actions in first strike really demonstrate the depth of their relationship and how much he really does care for flynn
and now i just find it interesting navigating their relationship with all this prior knowledge because i think a lot of depth can be now added to small actions and situations. navigating this push and pull and thinking about how their relationship would organically develop. because i think it’s not until the end of the movie where they sort of end up on the same page again and can move forward, but then how do they go from that to a romantic/ sexual relationship etc

First time watching ToH S2E5 (Through the Looking Glass Ruins). Thoughts below:
Detailed thoughts:
This one’s for the shippers! There were so many cute moments b/w Amity and Luz this episode. The fact that they ended the episode w/ one of them is definitely overshadowing the rest of my thoughts about it. It’s just really sweet to see how much Luz and Amity care about each other at this point that they’re willing to go to such lengths to make sure the other is happy.
Ed and Em have been really supportive of Amity too. Their debut episode really set my opinion against them when they tried to reveal the contents of Amity’s journal as part of their ‘tough love.’ However, since then, Ed and Em have been doing everything they can to help Amity become a more capable and independent person free from her parents’ influence just like them. In that way, I can definitely relate more to the Blight family.
I love that we got another Gus focused episode since he’s rarely in the spotlight. So far, Willow’s gotten at least some focus in four episodes: S1E3 (“I was a Teenage Abomination”), S1E6 (“Hooty’s Moving Hassle”), S1E15 (“Understanding Willow”), and S1E17 (“Wing It Like Witches”), while the only episode that’s focused on Gus has been S1E9 (“Something Ventured, Someone Framed”).
This episode presents us w/ a different character dilemma from the usual, although it’s still a variation on the theme of self-discovery and identity. Here, Gus is questioning his choice of magical focus. His issue isn’t trying to learn a different type of magic or master a new spell, Gus is already talented at illusions, but whether or not he’ll ever be good at using them and if he should just give up on the for a different, more practical, type of magic.
Framed in another way, Gus is faced w/ whether to continue pursuing a career path that he’s skilled at and passionate about in favor of one that wider society views as more practical or useful, a situation that I imagine many creatives find relatable. I certainly do.
In addition to this difficult personal question, Gus also faces a more clear-cut moral question on whether to let the others take the Galdorstones and desecrate the Looking Glass Ruins graveyard. The choice is somewhat easier for Gus since he himself can’t use the Galdortones, but he doesn’t hesitate for a second in preventing Bria and the others from taking them.
We also got a surprising redemption arc for Mattolomule with this episode revealing that Mattolomule’s treatment of others was just a legacy of his time at Glandus High, where bullying others to assert one’s own superiority and dominance over others was expected behavior. Although Mattolomule still treats Gus w/ hostility at the start of the episode, he’s ultimately able to move past that mindset and help Gus strike back at Bria and her clique.
I’m not sure where the plotline w/ Philip Wittebane’s journal, the Echo Mouse, and the portal door will end up going. I can’t imagine they’ll just have Luz create a second portal, especially from a narrative perspective considering that Belos is reconstructing the original one. Perhaps he’ll have to take the Echo Mouse from Luz to activate it?
General thoughts:

Man, I’m watching the intro and we sure haven’t seen Nose Girl in a long time. I hope that changes soon.

Kdramas I’ve watched ranked from most favorite to least favorite:
!Some spoilers ahead!
1. Vincezo.
What more can I say about this drama except that it’s amazing?
Plot: 10/10, characters: 10/10, scenery: 9/10.
I really like the way the plot played out and the ending (unlike most kdramas, the endings are cliffhangers but this one was kind of complete.) My favorite characters were Cha-young, Mr. Nam, Han Seo, and most definitely Vincenzo. The acting in this show was phenomenal, and may I note that the villains were some of the best acting I’ve seen?
The character that was weird and a little dumb that later turned out to be the villain was freaking smart. I suspected him a bit at first so when he became the villain I wasn’t too surprised but the extremities of his character were beyond my expectations. Every vigilante and villain were amazing. 10/10 once again.
2- Move To Heaven.
This show had me in tears. First episode, too. This show was simply beautiful in so many ways and it made me think about how quickly life can change and how so many things can change in a lifetime. Regret, passion, fear, respect, love, and sorrow are some emotions that I associate with this show. This show made me feel so many waves of emotions. And although I didn’t cry on every episode, it still made me sad and changed my mind about things I had a different point of view on before.
At first I thought Geu- ru was adorable and I really liked him but not just because of the way he acts given his Asperger syndrome, but because his father raised him to be kind and respectful while also learning boundaries. He really becomes a dynamic character because of his changes over time because of his job and the way his life changes after his father passes. He was truly a miracle and a special character and his acting in this role is amazing. Also, Geu- ru’s uncle is a great character too. Although I thought he was so demanding and annoying at first, once we got his backstory it made sense to why he put on a facade to act tough and mean. Later on we got to see his vulnerability and true heart and that he actually cared for the people around him including his lovely nephew, Geu-ru. Also I find him kinda hot but that’s not really important lololol bye.
3. Itaewon Class.
Revenge and resilience are some core words I associated with this drama. Through many ups and downs, hard work, and self control can result in a rightfully earned respect. Our main character Saeroyi, went through some crazy stuff (honestly an understatement) but he learned a lot of lessons and used strong emotions to overcome the many hurdles that life threw at him. I love him FR FR. His hair was actually very iconic too, hehe. I’ve seen people quote it another drama too lol. (I think it was all of us are dead…)
Saeroyi was really the only character I actually liked a lot. Everyone else kinda pissed me off in a way not gonna lie. And I’m not saying that just because he’s the lead actor but because I could relate to him in a few ways and I understand why he did some of the things he did. Long story short, his enemies at Jangga company GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED. F YALL AND YOUR WHOLE COMPANY. DOUBLE MIDDLE FINGERS HAHAHA.
All right, that’s all I feel like talking abt today. Maybe I’ll do another part soon but I have nobody to talk to about these things so I’d rather share them here instead haha.

Lisboa - Day 2
September 3, 2023
Bon Dia!!
Our entire group has arrived as of 9:30AM. Annie, however, is not feeling well although she is on antibiotics. Figures crossed she will be feeling better soon. Each of the 16 of us are in different stages of time change. Mark and I are probably the better off couple in the group - but then we did arrive 2 full days ago. We still feel the need for a nap - but we are sleeping during the hours one would expect to sleep. Time change is a tough thing.
We opted to return to the Hop-on Hop off bus today since we had a 48 hour pass. Today we hopped off. The weather is overcast and promising rain - but we missed it completely.
Here are some new discoveries: The 25th of April Bridge -(Portuguese Independence day from the Salazar Regime.). It may remind you of another bridge you may have seen....
...this one.
The Golden Gate Bridge built in the 1930s. The same company built both bridges but the bridge in Lisboa was build in the 1960s. The design is the same and the color is the same - so I guess they used the "don't mess with success" model. The bridge in Lisboa was completed in 1966 and was named the Salazar Bridge - but after the bloodless revolution that ousted Salazar in 1974 the bridge was renamed.
Here is another thing we saw - that made us think of something else:

I was closer to the statue in Rio de Janiero in 2020 - but I couldn't help but notice the similarities. Here is the look at the Brazilian statue from afar.
Anyone see the similarities here? The statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was completed in 1931 and the Lisboa statue was complete in 1963 - but the Portuguese are completely honest about the fact that their statue was "inspired" by the statue in Brazil. I will say the bases are very different...
The east side of the Tagus River was at one time an industrial area - but has now been abandoned and looks pretty sad.
BUT - the area is slowly but surely coming back. A small restaurant advertising the "best sunsets in Portugal" has grown into a LARGE restaurant and if you want to eat there you need to make a reservation months in advance. This is has awakened many small businesses to try the east side and things are changing. We talked to a few people who suggest that in the next five years this will be a hopping area. I hope so.
Another area we explored today - during a hop-off - was the beautiful gorge in downtown Lisboa. It was hard to get a photo that demonstrated this topography but here they are...
Because there are so many different "levels" to Lisboa there a many methos to help move the people between levels. One is an elevator.
Cool huh? And several funiculars. The one below is very near our hotel. There are also just plain ol' steps - lots and lots of steps...
We opted to hop off and have lunch on the river. It was nice.
The River was alive with sailboats and schooners. Just looking at the lines and riggings on these boats did me in!
We also went by an industrial area filled with massive gantry cranes.
This gave "walking to work" a whole new meaning. Look that the steps the gantry operators must climb to begin their day. OMG!!!
We had a leisurely day enjoying a small part of beautiful Lisboa. We got back to the hotel in time to get a nap before we met our leader, Carolina, and our whole group for a welcome drink - Port Wine. It was so fun to see so many of our friends again. I loved it!
Carolina suggested a restaurant that offered a local speciality: Mammoth meat sandwiches (many varieties) topped with cheese and egg and a special gravy. It was a big hit - UNLESS you have gluten issue. But I had cod - another Portuguese favorite!
Tomorrow we officially begin our tour. Let the the learning begin!!!
It is 11:00 PM and Mark is asleep. I will be too - just moments from now.
