Note
👍🏽 A fic you bookmarked recently. Please 😊
Um...So I've been remiss on reading Stony lately, and I'm still in the C's (!) which is where I was when I started this blog. Shame. Losing that whole working from home thing after the pandemic just really is a bummer. Anyway, this is the last fic I bookmarked.
Commitment by thedevilchicken
Rating: Teen
Summary: Contrary to popular belief, Tony hates first dates.
Why I'm Reccing: So, I had to reread this one because it's been a while and I have a terrible memory (which is great for me cause I can reread fics and it's like the first time, lmao) but, like, immediately, one paragraph in and I'm grinning like an absolute fool.
So, Logan and Peter bet Tony that he can't get a decent guy of their choosing to actually go out with him. They bet him twenty whole dollars, and Tony is never one to walk away from a challenge. And the decent guy of their choosing is, of course, Steve.
Gah, reading this back, this fic is really really good. I really don't want to spoil anything, but it's fun, and funny, and even though it's short, it never once goes the direction that you're expecting it to.
I also like this inversion of tropes. Because Tony is the nervous one on this first date, and we usually get self-assured Tony for first date fics, but despite the flip on common tropes, I feel like the characterization of both Tony and Steve is just absolutely nailed. This entire fic is just so them. Like them in the best possible way, and I smiled through my entire reread because I absolutely adore every single line of this fic.
This fic is utterly delightful and it is very underrated. Please go show this fic some love.

Soft mommy wanda
Tumblr media
-She would be so gentle with you, scared to break you when you got in your floaty headspace.
-She loved when you got like this becsuse she could do everything for you while you just sat there and looked pretty.
-This also applied in a sexual setting because you'd look at her with those doe eyes and who would she be to resist when you looked at her so willingly, so ready...
-"No thoughts in that pretty little head of yours.." Wanda cooed, attaching her thumb to your lip.
-Having previous knowledge of your oral fixation and allowing you to suck on her thumb. "Mmfhmp" you hummed in contempt.
-"That's it baby, you just need something to suck on. Don't you?" Wanda sighed, adjusting her hold of you. Cradling your head in her arms. "Such a good girl." Wanda praised.
-You were her best girl and she made sure to tell you all the time. Always holding you close and showering you in kisses!!! You'd giggle and tell her you can't breathe but she'd be like "Now we can't have that angel!"

rose-tinted lenses
moon knight (marc spector/steven grant)
— Saying he was left breathless is an understatement (in a good way). He doesn't know why it happened. He kind of wished it didn't, but at the same time, that was the best sex he’d ever had. Just the thought of your euphonious voice and gasps from the night before made him feel restless.
Marc looked over to his right side where you were sleeping soundly, the sun creeping in from the blinds and shining on your ethereal features. He doesn't know what attracted you to him or what made you so alluring but it was indescribable.
Usually, Marc wouldn’t care to pay attention to Steven’s everyday life as all Steven would do is wake up, feed Gus, work at the museum, eat with the statue guy, and overall have an average life. It was boring for the most part.
That is until you came along.
It wasn’t hard to spot you. Before he could even take a good look at you, he caught wind of your rather interesting outfit choices. It wasn’t anything he would wear since all he wears are neutrals and basics.
Donna figured one day, it would be best to move a rookie like you with Steven to inventory. Marc won’t lie, he does think you’re pretty but Steven was the one who fell hard. He admired your vibrant personality and took note of little things. Your favorite perfume, your favorite film, your major in university. He even found out the name of your electric guitar since you talked to Dylan about it.
When it came to you, he had rose-tinted lenses and talked to Marc about you. The only problem was, in Steven’s opinion, his way of talking to you. He froze and stuttered and just stared at you, which led to his idea of asking Marc to charm you (after several back-and-forth arguments, he agreed).
Now, Marc Spector isn’t one to fall in love so quickly. He refuses to and this was to help Steven.
But before he knew it, he had an almost insatiable want for you. After a few weeks, he got to know you, compiling more information and memorizing your favorite dish, favorite song, and favorite show.
He felt like his life had you in it all the time. At Steven’s job, in conversations with Steven, and even on the bloody street. And he was infatuated with you.
But he can’t. He shouldn’t.
Even after he made love to you, being tangled up in his sheets and his arms. He felt his heartbeat flutter beat loudly at the thought of you and your bright smile, your contagious laughter. He would compare it to nicotine but it’s more addictive than that.
Why?
Because to you, you're Steven Grant's. Not Marc Spector's.

avengers twilight!steve, on regrets, memories and tony stark. written post-avengers twilight #002. stevetony.
Steve has a lot of regrets. Tony—not the real one, the best friend he lost on the day he lost everything, but the one he keeps in his head, his mind’s best attempt at a ghost of the person he misses most—says that’s inevitable, living as long as Steve has.
C’mon, Cap, he says, smiling that way his Tony used to: eyes as bright as the future he was always talking about, everything in him shining. Or maybe that’s just how he looked to Steve, young enough back then to not yet have blinked the stars from his eyes. You live long enough, you run the risk of anything outweighing the good memories. His smile fades, not enough to disappear, but to become something smaller, quieter. Tinged with something requiring care. Do me a favour, handsome. Try not to let that happen to you.
Steve doesn’t like disappointing Tony Stark, not even the one dreamed up inside his head, but he thinks it might be too late on that front.
If someone asked for a list of regrets, he’d have to give that wry, hoarse laugh that makes him sound as old as he feels, and say, Nobody has time to listen to all that. If someone had asked Tony, he’d have a breathtakingly clever quip or an outpouring of guilt, depending on his mood, and who had asked. If it had been Steve, maybe both. Matt would have thought about it, long and hard, and disappeared to a confession booth. Peter – Jessica – Logan – Carol – all of them, he thinks, would have their own laundry list of hauntings, justified or otherwise.
That’s the name of the game, he thinks. You have to take the wins for what they are, but it doesn’t make the losses any lighter to bear. Steve’s posture isn’t what it used to be, even with the Defenders’ replicated super soldier serum in his veins, but his shoulders were shaking under the crushing weight of all his mistakes long before his age caught up to his body.
Janet isn’t here anymore to ask, but he doesn’t know what she’d say. It’s not that he thinks she has no regrets—even outside of the hero business, that’s a tall order for anyone—so much as that’s not how he remembers her. When he thinks of Janet van Dyne, he thinks of her deft fingers readjusting the lapel of the suit she designed and Tony cajoled him into; he thinks of her tinkling laugh almost being swallowed up by Thor’s booming one, the two of them bent double at the disgruntled expression Clint was shooting their way one golden night back when the world knew what heroes were meant to be; and he thinks of her clever, smiling mouth, and the way nobody could ever resist smiling right back. Steve had been no exception.
He misses it so fiercely it burns. Jan’s smile and Thor’s relentless steadiness and even Peter’s terrible jokes as he chased the Human Torch around the city. Carol’s quick fists and Jessica’s quick thinking and Natasha’s quick draw, and the time the three of them had a punch-up contest with the Thing that ended in an exasperated Tony footing the bill to the city and Johnny cackling as Sue dressed down Ben for his part in it. Luke’s laughter as he slung his arm over Danny’s shoulder and Jessica Jones taking photos of the two of them and Logan and Bobbi in the corner, trading tales of Hawkeye’s Greatest Hits: Indecent Exposure edition.
And Tony—always, always Tony. The press of him against Steve’s side, a reassuring line of heat, like, hey, you’re not alone anymore. You’re not cold anymore. You have a team. You have me. His tired eyes and easy smile and razor-sharp wit, even half-dead on his feet. The late nights where Steve coaxed him out of his lab with a hot drink and the promise of conversation, the early mornings where Steve would wear a worried frown and say, you should really sleep more, Tony, and Tony would grin at him and say, and give up these early mornings where you bring me coffee and those big blue eyes of yours? Never, and Steve would sigh, but there would be something fond tugging at the corner of his lips, and Tony would look all pleased with himself, animated in a way no caffeine fix could ever cause, and Steve would want—
Steve swallows.
You’re drifting, baby. It’s Jan’s voice, that classic combination of fond amusement and concern that Clint used to perk up at being addressed with and Tony used to call the van Dyne special, all those years ago. God, Steve misses them all. He aches with wanting. You’re drifting. Bring it back home, Steve. Start with the most important bit. Let’s take it from the top.
There isn’t a team to report to anymore. It is not a new fact, a new thought, but every time, it hits him like a concrete block to the ribs.
There isn’t a team to report to anymore, but Steve Rogers breathes in, and thinks about it anyway. Take it from the top. The most important things.
How the tables turn, Tony says. He’s the only one Steve keeps. All his other ghosts flit in and out of his head, coming and going like the tides, but Tony is the forever haunting. The only one his mind holds onto on a permanent basis. D’you remember, oh, all the way back near the start -- one time you asked me if it got exhausting, thinking so much.
Steve remembers. Steve has never forgotten anything Tony Stark gave him, be it physical or a vow or just the smallest memory that wasn’t intended as a secret but became one in Steve’s desperate hands. The world has taken so much from him, from all of them, ever since H-day. He can’t talk about Tony, because what if the world takes that from him too?
How the tables turn, Tony says again, soft in that way most people didn’t believe Tony Stark could be. Steve knew, though. Steve’s always known. You look exhausted, Steve. Don’t let it be so big. Just -- right now, right at this moment. What’s the call, Cap?
That was what Tony had said that day, Steve remembers. The world was on fire, and about to become a whole lot colder, and they didn’t know that, didn’t know anything about what was to come, just that this was it, this was the moment, this was the do or die, and Tony had stood at his shoulder, the armour a familiar comfort against Steve’s side, and asked, What’s the call, Cap?
An itemised list of all of Steve Rogers’ regrets would take too long, and a ranked list of all time would be impossible to decide upon when Steve has such a long memory and even longer history.
So, in its stead, Steve thinks, he’ll give Tony the right now.
STEVE ROGERS’ TOP THREE REGRETS RIGHT AT THIS VERY MOMENT, 0142HRS, DEC 31 20XX, COUNTING DOWN:
3. Rosa. He’d deserved the slap. He’d deserved a lot of things, really. He’d had good years with Rosa; years of her no-nonsense love, of her careful hands, of the way she looked at him in the quiet of the night with all the warmth their little home could hold, like she still saw something worth believing in him. Maybe she did. He thinks she probably did. His wife was a lot of things, most of them good, but above all else, she was never a liar.
He’s sorry he blew up her life. He’s sorrier about that than the fact he blew up their life together, but that’s always the way it goes with him, isn’t it? There’s nothing he’s felt he had to keep more than the shield. It’s not that they matter less to him—God help him, but it’s not about the love. There’s never been a lack of love—but to his bones, to his core, he’s always been the guy who wants to stand up and help. If the fight needs to be had, he’s going to stand there, fists up, no matter who he is, no matter how old he is. No matter how super he is.
He knew that about himself a long time ago. Maybe if he’d stopped pretending that had changed, Rosa wouldn’t be stuck here now.
2. It’s a little one, in the scheme of things, but it also feels more important than almost anything else at this moment. He wishes he’d touched Matt, that last time they saw each other. Gone are the days where Steve would clasp his friends by the hand, something lost to time and loneliness and gradually brittled bones, but he wishes desperately that he’d clasped his hand to Matt’s shoulder one last time. Just a moment. Just enough for some phantom warmth on his palms, a tangible ghost of Daredevil, not just something dreamed up by his mind in the moments when losing almost everyone he’s ever trusted is insurmountable.
1. He doesn’t know where to begin with this one. H-day. The way it went down. Peter bleeding out in front of him. James Stark growing up without his parents, the best of them both twisted into something Steve can’t look at directly without feeling hopeless, helpless. Clint’s arrow snapped in half, a crater where the Thing should be. His last sight of Reed Richards, stretching further than he’d ever seen before as he reached out desperately towards his wife. Tony’s voice in his ear: what’s the call, Cap?
And that’s what it comes down to, isn’t it? His biggest regret. This one, he suspects wouldn’t change even if it was an all-time list. Tony Stark, the vibrant, blaring truth of him. Something Steve misses so desperately that when the world forced him to live without him, he made up a version of him to keep in his head forever.
It’s more similar to #2 than he thought. He has so many regrets, and so many of them are about Tony Stark—about that day, about missing people, about loving people and losing them because of the fight, whether they were lost in the fight or he left them behind to join it—but more than anything, he thinks he misses the feeling of Tony’s hand in his, pulling him in close, arm going around Steve’s shoulder to draw him into a hug.
I’m not half as good at anything as I am when I’m doing it next to you, Tony says, years ago, so far away from this moment that it might as well have been another world, and Steve, old and jaded and lonely and tired and missing the person he loves best so fiercely it aches in his lungs, thinks, You and me both, Tony. You and me both.
You and me. You and me. You and me.
-
(When the dossier falls open in front of him, with a blueprint of a tank and photos of him—photos of Tony, and even Tony in pieces makes Steve ache with something he thought had long been buried—spill out, let’s get it from the world’s smartest man, Tony Stark echoing in his ears—
Steve, for a moment, wants to throw up.
Then his jaw sets.
All right, Tony, he thinks. He doesn’t know if he’s addressing the ghost in his head, or the one in the tank, or some nebulous third thing, a Hail Mary thrown to the universe, some last passage of faith he thought he’d forgotten. What’s the call? You and me. That’s the call. I’m getting you out of there.
I’m bringing you home.)

I need a Scarlet Witch renaissance here on Tumblr I’m so tired of every discussion about her being about her powers or her children or how hot she is is.... I want to talk about her..I want to see fanarts of her... people talking about her clothes or her stuff...her personality...her relationship with other people... her antics... just about her not her powers or children or anything...like I want to see people making silly jokes and memes(positive) about her and putting her in weird scenario and situations
PUT HER IN A MICROWAVE FOR MY SAKE
me saying this while also wanting to gatekeep her lmao...idk what I want, I don't want a solo movie anymore but I want to see her...i need more people talking about her so I can see Wanda content everyday

Miles waking up late at night to write about his crush in the form of an anonymous Spiderman 138B/Spiderman 1610B fanfiction and posts it anonymously to AO3 in an effort to release his hidden feelings somehow.
He then wakes up the next day to open his ❀Postflower1610❀ account being full of notifications. Kudos from Ghosterina, CoconutOil&Prayers, TechGirlSlay and 600 others. 50 comments from various people he suspected were several spider people and possibly his roommate.
And before Miles sighs and puts his phone down, his eyes widen and his heart skips a beat as he scrolls to a top comment by WokeBloke138
WokeBloke138
This is cool mate, keep up the good work.
Miles internally screams for an hour.

Loki lying face down in a jail cell, lamenting that he utterly alone. Guard opens his cell and say someone paid his bail. It's Verity and she's come to drive him back to his apartment
i assume that he forgets quite often that she's there for him. he is so incredibly used to his isolation. even his close relationship with thor is hanging by the thread of a lie, and i doubt he feels incredibly compelled to tell thor about all of his miseries.
verity's presence in his life, i assume, is a very rare and intense source of comfort for a person who no longer has friends, and has been told by the world that he is worth nothing unless he is causing pain for himself and for others

in all seriousness this is the best thing Marvel has put out since... i don't know, since phase 4 began? the writing, the storytelling, the cinematography (the record store scene my GOD), all of it is just phenomenal. this is by far Tom's best portrayal of Loki TO DATE. like-- i haven't felt this way about an MCU film in ages not even TFATWS had my heart rushing this much are there things that need to be wrapped up? yes!! do we need a season 3? double yes!!! are we going to be emotionally okay while Loki is all alone until that happens? NO 😭😭😭😭

Tony: HAaNG oN!?
Two versions again.
I’ve been meaning to draw this scene from @sineala s fic “Not So Secret Anymore” (go read it, it’s awesome). Because Tony’s sheer effrontery at Steve saying nice things about him (TO HIS FACE!) is hilarious.
Extract from the fic that inspired this sketch
"Wait a minute," Tony said, indignant, fitting a few puzzle pieces of his own together. "So on the way to the meeting, when you were telling me about your computer problems and you kept telling me how kind I'd been to you, you-- you knew you were talking to me the whole time? You were telling me nice things about me to my face?"
He's not sure that's an actual possible crime anywhere. Probably not. Nonetheless, he feels just a little bit betrayed.’

Tony has been forced into public events and appearances all day, the perils of keeping busy in the holiday season, but due to some scheduling oversight he has an entire day of outdoor events one after another. And the multiple events for different organizations and businesses and charities isn’t odd but yeah somehow his newest PA hadn’t realized he was going to be outside for various things like tree cutting, ice skating, sleigh riding, tree lighting, Christmas Market grand opening, and finally winter fire works.
And either it’s been a freezing cold snowy day or maybe it’s been a wet and rainy (but still cold) day and he powered thru it like a champ (or a man that knew if he canceled on even one of these events he was going to be labeled a Scrooge by the media). In anycase he’s chilled to the bone and Steve takes care of him that night
Maybe he and Steve had plans they cancel to get Tony warm, maybe Steve runs into him coming home and sees he needs help, maybe they are together or maybe this is the first time they snuggle up by the fire as friends and leave as something more. Maybe Steve leaps into action, eager to help, or maybe Tony’s chilled skin and pallor makes him think of the ice and he muscles thru that discomfort to help Tony.
I assume hot coco or warm cider is enjoyed, a wood fire it lit, and maybe a bath is drawn, there’s definitely soft warm sheets slid into at the end
Oh, my God, I LOVE this. Like the hurt/comfort potential is so good, and it's so Tony to like, push himself like that, even if he's miserable. And extra if you know, he really hates the cold and really feels it, partly because of his bad circulation, partly because of how when he was on the streets, the cold really got to him, and he almost died in that blizzard that lead to his getting sober, and every winter he goes back to that, wakes up with nightmares about being back there--so he's already exhausted before the whole marathon of Christmas outdoor experiences. And of course he's never actually talked about that with anyone, so no one actually knows how bad it is to him, and how it gets to him. His hands are aching and freezing through his gloves and he keeps feeling like he's freezing to death again despite the warm cashmere coat he's wearing, but he's not gonna complain, he's just not.
And Steve, who used to suffer through his own miserable winters as a boy, who for a while there was afraid he might freeze to death some winters in a tenement without heat, takes one look at him when he gets back to the mansion, tower, whatever it is, and he just knows he's miserable. Tony's so cold, he's so pale, he feels like he's half frozen, and maybe it does make him a little uncomfortable, but he still leaps into action, eager to help. Tony's ... dazed, he's a little slow from the cold, and he's clearly miserable. He responds with vague words to his worried questions, and isn't even able to effectively pretend he's okay. His hair is wet under his hat from the snow. When Steve touches his cheek, Tony can barely feel it, he can tell. Steve is Fixing This.
He makes Tony some hot cocoa (because I keep imagining Tony as a closet lover of chocolate, and Steve knows it), and he rubs on his cold hands and blows on them--if they're together, he kisses at each cold knuckle and the tips of his fingers--and rubs his hands up under his shirt, up and down his back, exclaiming over how cold Tony feels with soft concern, before he draws him a bath and gently bullies him into it, while he asks Jarvis for a heating pad for the bed like he often uses himself when he gets a little too close to the ice in his head. He massages him after, either just his shoulders and arms and hands and feet if they're not together, his whole body if they are together, and makes sure he puts on warm pajamas and a warm robe. He puts his arms around him and Tony just--leans into him, because he never expected all of this. Any of this. Tony's kind of horrified when he realizes he's nuzzling into Steve's chest, but he's so, so warm and comforting and steadying, and his warm hands are stroking Tony's shoulders, up into his hair, kneading at his muscles.
And maybe that progresses to sex, if they're together, or even if it's their first time--what better way to warm Tony up, after all, right? But Steve insists he stays bundled up while they're doing it, until Tony is actively flushed in the face, and he drinks a lot of cold water after they're done, as Steve laughs at how overheated he's gotten Tony and kisses all over his face, pressing his big warm body up against Tony, and Tony rubbing his hands up and down Steve's bare chest in between drags of ice water, while Steve rubs at the back of his neck with one hand.

Your name is Steve Rogers. You are not afraid to die.
-
When you dream, there is a tower. Sometimes a mansion; sometimes nothing at all, just a winding, open road and the endless thrum of a bike between your thighs, more power than you thought possible.
Mostly, when you dream, it's like this:
The curve of a smile, the left corner lifted a little higher than the right. Muffled laughter, buried in the crook of your neck, and the scratching of facial hair against your throat. An arm wrapped around your waist, your own slung around a shoulder. A line of heat down your side. Sleek laboratories filled with gizmos you don't have words for, shiny enough that your dream-eyes just glance over them, always hunting out the one living thing in the room, dark circles under blue eyes and a tired smile and a metallic thud when you tap at his chest.
Sometimes there are gods, and monsters, and things you never thought you would see—never thought you could even dream—but at the heart of all of them is the same story. People will always do things they didn't think possible when something they want is on the line. Sometimes it's a person, sometimes it's power, sometimes it's a thing so vast and unbelievable you will never understand. But someone will.
You'll say, but all those people, and someone else will say, she doesn't care about that. You'll say, we have to help them, and someone else will say, that's not up to us anymore. You'll say, please, and he'll look at you, exhausted, and say, I don't know how to do this with you.
He will look up at you, that self-deprecating half-smile on his face, and your heart will burn with it. You will burn with it, and you will say, I had no-one. Nothing. You gave me a purpose, somewhere to belong. You gave me a home.
Sometimes the world is ending in your dreams, fire and fury and something violent coursing through your bloodstream, and you see his face and you want to put your fist right through it. Sometimes the world is quiet, and it's that early hour when the morning blue is starting to fade to a pale gold, and he smiles at you, and you ache with the desire for something different.
It feels -- like something slipping through your fingers. Dreams that could be memories, except you don't have names for anything in them. Things that feel real, but you can't catch long enough to hold onto.
Maybe the war has taken more from you than you realised. You gave it your body, your beliefs, your fists and your spirit. You knew it would take your peace. You did not realise it you gave it your dreams too.

Your name is Steve Rogers, and one day, you will wake up.

After the Purple Children put Daredevil’s identity back in the box, Matt’s decision put a strain on his friendship with Foggy. Of course, Foggy can’t really keep away from Matt and they slowly reconcile. Everything could be back to normal soon if not for some odd behavior Matt is displaying lately.
