“Yeah, you're right,” Tony cuts in. “But that was yesterday. And since now it’s today, and, as you can see, I’m perfectly fine, then I need to get back to working on some stuff.” He shoots Steve a grin, like that somehow makes it okay. “You're welcome to stay and watch if you want.”

Against all odds, the Avengers have beaten Thanos. But when Tony fails to see that victory for what it is, Steve decides the only way to get him to see reason is to confess the secret he’s been harbouring for way too long.

Tony has secret conversations with Steve that even Steve isn’t privy to, even now.

In those secret conversations, he says exactly the right thing to make Steve duck his head and smile, and when he confesses that Steve is the most infuriatingly beautiful thing the universe has ever come up with and he’s been madly in love with him for years, Steve admits he feels the same way.

Then there are the conversations they actually have, which tend to go much worse because Tony is sarcastic and Steve is seething, and it’s a miracle they’re back on speaking terms.

More fanart of @jewishclarkkent s fab fanfic “There’s a Science to Walking Through Windows”. This is from the latest chapter where this gorgeous description made me draw.

Extract from fic:

In the doorway stands Tony, pale and dishevelled. His clothes, typically pristine and tailored, now hang loosely on his frame, wrinkled and unkempt. Stray strands of hair, normally meticulously styled, now stand in disarray, clinging to his forehead with sweat. He’s holding his phone in his left hand, his fingers curled tensely around the device as if they’ve already been forced to hold this position for hours.

There’s a weariness in Tony’s gaze, his typically sharp features softened by exhaustion. The room behind him is bathed in a dim, flickering light, casting long, ominous shadows that dance across his features, accentuating the tension etched into every line of his face like cracks in porcelain. Dark circles create deep hollows beneath his eyes, betraying the sleepless nights and restless days he’s endured.

When their eyes lock, the weariness in Tony’s expression deepens, an evident mixture of agitation and frustration. Tony’s body stiffens and Steve finds himself mirroring the stance, every muscle tightly coiled. The air around them is thick with anticipation and unresolved tension, as if the very atmosphere is bracing itself for the impending confrontation.

“You’re just about the last person I want to see right now,” Tony says as he rubs a hand over his face, his voice hoarse with fatigue and resignation. Still, he steps aside to allow Steve entry.

Hey, um hi. Quick question... Why just WHY do you abandon your werewolves stories on the third chapter?! 😭😭 I need more of any of it PLEASE or if you're kind enough to redirect my attention to another werewolf Stony story that is complete I would very much appreciate :')

Hey friend! Abandon is a harsh word 😂 they are not abandoned they are … temporarily on hold while we wait for my writers block to go away :p I actually have some more of Beauty in the Broken written! Creativity is a fickle creature - when I have a lot of stress going on it just dries right up. Unfortunately the past six months have been a little rough, the past few weeks especially so (I’ve had to say goodbye to two of my senior kitties within the last two months. My older boy was 18 years old and I had him since he was a kitten. I’ve known him longer than my husband and most of my friends. That one was super rough - eh, sorry to over share).

So long story short I appreciate your patience!

I wrote the werewolf stories because I love WEREWOLVES so much. Make it stony and it’s just *chefs kiss* I do know how both are going to end. BITB has quite a few long chapters ahead, but Rise Above should be wrapped up in a couple of chapters. I don’t recall actually reading a completed stony werewolf fic! There’s a one shot by Sabrecmc (my fav stony writer, so if you haven’t already go check her stuff out!) about Lupercalia (I also have a Lupercalia oneshot kicking around somewhere).

alright so at first I thought it would be hard to pick only my fave five but it was surprisingly easy? :))) I think I picked the ones that I still look back at and think wow, how did I come up with all of that?

Seeking Companionship is a 616 epistolary fic which I really hoped more people would read because it's just pure joy to read if I say so myself, it's funny and engaging and I really like how I've managed to get their tones in writing letters in 1980s, and there is some innuendo and some raw insecurities and self-worth issues and of course a happy ending, all told in letters. oh and ID porn of course! (Rated T, 4.2k words)

Restless Gravity is my first RBB, a sci-fi omegaverse arranged marriage fic with omega Tony and warlord Steve in space, an AU of X-Factor 231, where Steve is a scary humanoid who is known for hating humans. I just have no idea how I came up with many of those ideas and images, and I really love the part of the fic where Tony transitions from 'I have to live with this thing' to him deciding that 'he seems to be very decent and I think I'm falling for him'. I just love that universe, I always think if I ever turn any of my fics into an original this would be the perfect candidate :) oh it also has ID porn, and amnesia. super tropey :) (Rated M, 10k)

Love of Inconvenience is an MCU arranged marriage, omegaverse, historical AU from 1920 happening near where I live in Australia, in a place called Fort Nepean which was the place where the first shot fired by the British Empire in World War I. It has a quarantine station and a beach and as soon I set foot in it, I was like yes, a small immigrant Steve fic with gun installer Tony. I just love the world of this fic, and the way they're so breathtakingly gone for each other but each think there is no way the other wants them for real. I actually made the mutual pining so real that I was unable to actually fix it for like a year before I finally managed to write the ending to this little thing :) (Rated T, 4.8 k)

Unintended Side Effects an MCU medkink fic, with bottom Steve and young Dr. Stark, with and ID twist that left all the commenters in awe (I'm not making this up, you can go check the comments :)) ), written for your birthday. to this day, I can't really figure out how I put so many words together about a...well... about the thing that happened in the fic. but I did, and I'm so glad that it exists because it's a rather niche kink and by the steady stream of readers that check it out 3 years later, I guess our people are also happy that it exists. (Rated E, 9k)

Quarantined Together an MCU canon adjacent AU about Steve and Tony hooking up one night and being forced to quarantine together for 14 days, with lots and lots of porn and lots and lots of fluff, which was intended to be a soft escape from the terrible times it was being written in. I'm really proud of it, both because I wrote and finished a long fic, and also because of the crazy concepts I put into it and I think they mostly worked in context, like the way I love yous were said, or the double ID porn roleplay. (Rated E, 40k)

Tonia sighed and leaned back with a clang of armor on galvanized steel railing. “I’m ready to go home, take a bath, and relieve some stress, if you know what I mean.”

Eve did not know what Tonia meant. She frowned, trying not to be annoyed that she’d missed another joke. Tonia raised one eyebrow and made a filthy gesture, jerking her fist up and down over her crotch. Someone across the aisle whistled, and Tonia responded by exaggerating the pantomime, rolling her hips into it and licking her lips.

“Don’t make fun of me,” Eve said, reaching out and grabbing Tonia’s armor-less bicep so she’d stop being gross. “I know women don’t do that.”

“Nice to meet you. I’m Steve Rogers,” Steve said, sticking his hand out and trying to wrestle the interaction back into something normal.

“I know, sweetheart,” Tony said, ignoring his hand. “Rescue told me all about you.”

“Did you make her?” Steve asked. It had been implied that Tony was a tech-man, and she said he was her boss. It would fit together.

“Yes, the armor, that was me; she’s my bodyguard,” Tony said archly. “Impressed?”

The only good thing about the future is Tony Stark's bodyguard, Rescue. She's beautiful in her red and gold armor, and Steve will never know who she is.

Manicures are a girl thing. Not to Tony, exactly; taking care of his body is neutral, and he’s always liked his creature comforts. But to Steve, nail care is definitely a girl thing.

And Steve likes girl things on Tony, but —

Start slow, Stark, Tony thinks, and takes a deep breath.

“Give me your hand, sugar,” Tony suggests, already pulling one of Steve’s big hands into his lap. He turns it over, digging both thumbs into the meat of Steve’s palm and rubbing at the sore muscles there. Steve’s eyes flutter shut. “That feels good, doesn’t it?”

A sequel to the girl with the modern face. What it says on the tin: Tony discovers they’re both very into Steve in femme things, but it’s a touchy subject for hyper-masculine Captain America.

“I tire of this,” Amora says, and with a casual gesture the entire team is pinned in place, frozen in mid-air. Steve has the unsettling, half-familiar feeling of someone rifling through his head like it’s a card catalogue. A mind-reader as well as a witch, then.

A female voice whispers into his mind’s ear. It’s very tragic in here, dearheart, but I think your armored friend is, somehow, more psychically toxic than even you.

What’s wrong with Tony? Steve thinks, but the presence is gone, leaving his memories of war stirred up like flying insects rising off a lake in at dawn.

The Enchantress opens Tony's mind to anyone and everyone near him. Steve knows he should let Tony keep his secrets, but he's not noble enough to stay away.

Steve had sounded like he really genuinely wanted to see Tony and hear about the new robot-heart and Stark Solutions, so Tony decided that a weekend trip was worth it to see his friend in person.

His friend, Tony had reminded himself. Not anything else. Dear Sir,

You said that you are in pain. I’m sorry to hear that, truly. I may not know what you’re going through exactly, but I dare to say that I’m not a stranger to pain.

I’ll be fully honest with you: I’m currently nursing a broken heart. It’s a long story, which might bore you a little, so I’ll refrain. But I’m lonely too. I am rather aching to talk to someone who might understand, who might see things from my point of view, a shoulder to cry on.

A short story that might amuse you, however, is how I came about your entry in the newspaper. I found the page on the front steps of my apartment building after coming back from my morning run. I had hoped to clear my head on the run, but all that was on my mind when I reached my apartment block was my recent romantic problems. I picked up the page and the first thing I saw was your ad, ‘visible but not seen’ in bold print. I read your words, over and over again, and found myself thinking about you, and what you could perhaps mean by your somewhat cryptic lines. I thought to myself that this must be fate. Maybe this was an opportunity for me to heal and move past the pain, while I could help you with the same. After all, what was the worst that could happen? The chance of this encounter ending up in a disaster as my recent misadventure seems comfortably low. I am willing to listen to you, and seek to understand you before passing judgment, and I would appreciate your reciprocation in return.

Now, maybe I have got this all wrong. I have never responded to a personal advertisement before. If this letter, and me, is not what you were hoping for, I sincerely apologize. But if you’re inclined to reply and share some of your burden, I’ll be looking forward to your letter.

I’m thrilled to have received your letter.

This might come as a surprise, but I, myself, have never put out a personal ad, and therefore have no idea what I should expect in return. I said in the ad that I’m looking for someone who’s willing to listen and I appreciate your offer to do that. Thank you.

As you could tell from my somewhat corny words in the ad, I’ve been experiencing a lot of pain. Or better said, a lot more than usual. It gets unbearable sometimes, like the Monday night I decided to put this ad out. I needed to talk to someone who hadn’t made up their mind before they'd even heard my answer. Heck, before even asking the question. And in the spirit of complete honesty, someone who didn’t know me too well, who would be willing to give me the benefit of the doubt.

I think I better share some less embarrassing parts of my story with you. See, there is this guy, who is probably the best man who has ever walked on earth. Maybe even better than the best. The kind that puts the rest of us to shame for not being good enough, makes you feel like a snail or a tortoise for crying out loud. And maybe it was my own fault to fall for this guy, but how can you not? How can you push away what’s somehow the essence of all good in the world? Now you might think I’m exaggerating but I’m not. When I tell you my life has been filled with pain, I am not exaggerating.

And I would have been fine, just going about my own business, because I might be a lot of things but I am not generally stupid. I know I’m not good enough for him. But he had to go on and make me think I had a chance and then pull the rug right out from under my feet. I fell on my damn face. It hurts.

Well, isn’t that depressing? I’ve been told I’m a fun guy, and look how I’m moping all over the sheet.

I’m sorry.

I am going to stop and share something less miserable. This week, after a rather difficult meeting I was hiding in my office when my secretary rang and let me know a little person was insisting on seeing me. I thought she’s there to get her candy from the box I keep in my office for the kids, but she was actually there to personally thank me for her birthday gift. She had candy for me. Made me smile after a long, long time.

I hope I salvaged it enough for you to not regret engaging with me so far. Please write back and share some of your burden.
