I've realized how clingy I am to my gods. And. To be quite honest, I've seen too many people saying it's bad to be so. To be attached to them.
I understand the statement, but, at the same time, loving and getting attached to your deities is a part of the journey. It's bound to happen when you bond, one way or another. Stronger, or weaker. You'll get used to them. Comfortable. Regardless of what type of relationship you may have with them. (Romantic, parental, mentor, ect.)
And it isn't a bad thing!
For example, I've found out Hekate is my soul mother. And, ever since, I've been purely a mama's boy to her. Sleeping in her arms and spending time burying myself in her presence. I don't find it humiliating or shameful like I thought it would - I thought, since they're a god, it doesn't matter if we have a strong soul bond between us. "I should stay in a mortals place." I was always told, I always thought.
I'll say this for free, you're loved. You're worthy of expressing it, of feeling it, of being vulnerable and soft with it. Being yourself. Especially with your gods. Especially with the ones who are spoused to your soul.
Your deities love you. You're allowed to love them back. You're allowed to cry to them until you can't breathe. You're allowed to hug on to them and have them to hold you lovingly. You're allowed to say how much you love them and feel their reciprocation flowing through your soul.
Divine love is euphoric. It's something so powerful and raw. Something so spectacular. To feel their love rush through you is greater than any drug in the world. The very hands that have power to rip you to shreds instead caress your skin and adore you. That love and cherish you just as much as you do them, more than you can comprehend. And you're worthy of feeling it.
There's no shame in feeling love, in giving love, &/or receiving love from the gods. It's one of the very foundations of why we worship in the first place. Love has infinite forms, love is various between each individual. It's in everything. So why deny it? Why try and tell people that it's wrong, or that it's blasphemy when simply everything, in one way or another, comes back to love?
Love your deities. Let them love you. It's your heart. Don't let others tell you how to use it.

‼️ TAROT ADVICE ‼️
So I recently started studying tarot, I bought a good starter deck, we have a basic reading method, I just have a VERY hard time remembering the meaning of each card even though I have read them several times...So..maybe there is a way for someone to remember them more easily? Also since I'm new to tarot reading every advice could help me a lot 🫶🏻

Hey! Not sure if you take asks or not, but do you have any advice for a baby witch?
YES! First, asks are always open, and I appreciate you sending one! Secondly, of course I have some advice! Let's get into it!
(1) Decolonize your craft
Decolonizing your craft is essential to witchcraft. Making sure you don't take part in practices that are closed to you, and making sure that you don't use tools/methods/items that are sacred to cultures you aren't a part of is SO IMPORTANT!!! This is where I would recommend you to start your research. Here is an excellent article on what a closed practice is, but it doesn't go too deep into specific things that are closed. I think it's a good jumping off point.
Along with respecting and educating yourself on closed practices, knowing where your information is from and what biases that information may have (good or bad) is also important. This goes along with what materials you use and where they come from (is this ethically sourced, is this a closed item, who profits off of this item, etc.).
(2) RESEARCH A TON!!!
If you're on this blog, asking this question, you're doing this! Good job! If you search "BOS" on my blog, or click -> here , you can go to my "book of shadows" tag, and see lists of ways to start your own book of shadows (aka a ton of things to research and write down)
(3) Write everything down
Going along with that last sentence, write. stuff. down! Your craft will change and grow, and even if you're just writing what you learn in your phones notes app, you will be so happy that you have that later on. It's great to see where you came from and how far you've come, and who knows, you may need that one sigil you made 3 months ago, or maybe that random spell you wrote down ages ago is exactly what you need in your current situation. Just write things down, you'll thank yourself for it later.
(4) Don't feel like you need to fit into a box
This one is very important as well! Social media witches and pretty instagram witchcraft isn't how your craft is most likely not how your practice will look, especially not when starting out. Don't force yourself to have the most perfect altar, with allllll of these beautiful, expensive tools, and all the witchy clothes and decorations, etc. etc. etc. You honestly don't need anything but your intention to do witchcraft. Don't worry about having an "aesthetic" practice. It really isn't realistic for most people.
Also, witch "types" aren't set in stone. You don't only have to be a Green Witch, or only a Hearth Witch, or only a Sea Witch. These are just fun categories, and you don't need to commit to one or the other. I consider them mostly just tags that witches use to see the kinds of content they want to see, or to categorise themselves so others know their favorite things in their practice. If you NEED a label, but can't decide, "eclectic" is an easy thing to slap onto your practice that is all encompassing while still being labeled.
These are my biggest advice points. If anyone wants more, I'm sure I can think of more, I just wanted to get this out because I was excited to get an ask, haha.
Anyways, happy witching!

Witchcraft happens when you add intention to simple every day actions. Having a shower, preparing a meal, making a cup of tea, planting a seed in a flower pot.

Need those bad vibes to go away? imagine them as Soot Sprites.
The little fuzzballs from the Studio Ghibli movies. Imagine all your bad energy as them. Now, shake them off.
That's it, just shake off those fuzzy, sticking bad vibes.
They aren't trying to harm you intentionally but they can't be weighing you down so shake them off.
Dust your shoulder with your hand, as though brushing them away.
shake out your shirt to fan yourself.
Just shake it off.

On a relevant note in our life:
The Divine can be wrong
They can be wrong for you
They can be wrong in general
Very few beings are omniscient and to assume all Divine are going to know what is going on with you is something rooted in Christian beliefs and should be examined if that is affecting your practice. Decide for yourself if that is something you want in your path
Talk to your guides, they can't always help but they for sure can't if they don't know what's wrong
To assume the Divine know what is best for you no matter what is something that could get you hurt. The Divine in many mythos are flawed. And this should be kept in mind when working with ones from those faiths.
On to my story:
Tonight I parted ways with a god I had planned to work along side for a very long time, possibly the rest of my life. I had realized he wasn't listening to me and pushing me to do things that were detrimental to my health both mental and 'physical' [mostly my inner world 'health'] and not believing me despite my protests.
His reasonings were somewhat believable, especially when I was already struggling with self worth, and I am unsure of if they were coming from a place of actually wanting to help. But the point is they weren't helping.
I almost quit my job as a host for my system despite desperately wanting to continue being one. He wouldn't listen to me and because my systems safety is the most important thing to me I believed him when he said my impulsivity was getting out of hand and dangerous. I now realize that fronting really does help with my impulsive nature. Something I had suspected and now am certain of.
My point is they don't always know whats best, they can be wrong and they can be cruel. Not everyone will experience this but its something to keep in mind.
Better to be safe than sorry. If you are sure something is wrong for you trust your intuition.
You can tell them "No"

My Apollo candle is getting pretty close to the bottom of the jar. Unfortunately the glass is also getting SUPER hot (to the point where you can’t pick it up until it’s cooled off) and I don’t want it to crack or explode or something dramatic like that lol. What do you guys do with candles dedicated and offered to deities when they’re low/gone?
I’m thinking I might take the wax out and put it in my candle wax warmer while I look for a different candle and repurpose the jar for him in some way.

🜂 Elements I - Fire 🜂
— Astro Notes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The signs of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are those of fire. It represents the element of spirit, and those who have these placements are known for their energetic personalities. Hot-blooded fire signs are passionate and tenacious, and they aren't hesitant to stand up for what they believe in. They are also likely to succeed thanks to their positive attitudes because their warmth and excitement highlight their independent personalities. The relationship between fire signs and spirit can also be seen in the fire signs' innate intuition.
Fire signs have a sixth sense that comes from within, as opposed to the earth, water, or air signs' intuitions, which might be practical, emotional, or intellectual. It stands for a direct connection to the divine, refined by flame to pure essence, similar to a spark of inspiration. Fire signs therefore possess a powerful creative force.
They also have a distinct advantage in sports, battle or business, as well as other professions where time is crucial because of their lightning-fast reflexes and split-second judgment. However, they can also result in impulsive behavior, so fire signs must be careful to check their lips and tempers and to look before they leap.
These signs communicate openly and honestly, and although their judgments sometimes sting, their words always ring true. They are equal parts fierce and friendly. You can rely on a fire sign to say what they mean and mean what they say, whether they are stating their truth (Aries), preserving their dreams (Leo), or challenging the broader vision (Sagittarius). For fire signs, lies have a sort of half-life, and they are simply too unabashedly themselves to do anything other than live their lives according to their own rules. Deceptions and manipulations don't appeal to them.

Offerings.
Tumblr media
A lot of people, especially beginner witches, tend to feel frightened over offerings.
But, you do know that you don't need to buy them fancy things, right?
Sure, if that's how you show your love to your deity, by all means, go ahead and spoil them if you can.
However, for the people that cannot afford top-tier offerings, I want you to hear me when I say:
Simply your existence, your love for them, your desires to honor them, to be around them, to spend time with them, even just thinking about them, is an offering.
You don't need every tool out there to honor a deity. Sure they can make it easier, but you don't need them. If anything, going without these tools for a while until you can gain them can heighten your strengths and make the tools easier to use, in my opinion.
Just trust your heart. Your intuition. Trust yourself. What feels right and not right to give to your deity, based off of what you have? Do you have wildflowers in your area? You can pick those and give them your deity. Or say they reminded you of that deity.
You can whisper "I love you" or some words of praise to them, or even a whispered conversation. They hear you, even if you think they're deaf when it comes to you.
You can bake them something, you don't need to toss it afterward, you don't need to stress about wasting it. You can eat in honor of them. Or share the meal with them as you eat.
You can give them almost anything, as long as it's genuine, as long as you're happy and are not disrespecting them. (Ex: miasma)
Or, you could simply blow a kiss to your deities.
They're glad you're thinking of them.

I need baby witch advice!!!!!! 🧙‍♀️
I’ve been in a major depressive slump so my house has gotten extremely messy. I’m paying to get my house cleaned tomorrow, and I’m wondering if anyone has a ritual they can suggest for cleansing the house in a witchy way lol. I keep seeing suggestions to use white sage but it’s my understanding that as a white person, that practice is unethical and inappropriate. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! ✨

hello! how are you? I hope you're well
I would like to know where I could start reading about folk magic, maybe you can give me some advice, thanks!
hello!
truth be told, as a mostly closeted witch, I don't have access to a ton of books about witchcraft. to get started in learning about folk witchcraft, I would definitely recommend chaotic witch aunt on youtube. Frankie is an Italian-American folk practitioner with some incredible insights into folk magic. this video that they made with Olivia from the witch of wonderlust is a great one to start off with, as they both talk about their individual experiences with folk magic. they also have plenty of videos recommending books, which I'd encourage you to check out.
there's no specific resource for this, but I'd also recommend researching the folk magic of your specific heritage and consider if that's something you'd like to incorporate into your practice!

Aphrodite isn't answering, now what?
(Here's my advice, but remember it's different for everyone! Your worship, your rules.)
I've seen a lot of baby witches who try to contact Aphrodite, but receive no answer. Offerings, Altars, Prayers, and nothing! What could be going wrong?
Let's start with basics of a person: mind, body, soul.
Mind: Is your mind clear? Are you focused on worshipping our Goddess Aphrodite, or are you focused on what she can offer you? Aphrodite is more than just the Goddess of Beauty, she is Beauty, and because of that she deserves your full attention. Don't think about how she'll "magically make you pretty" or anything like that, it's selfish and she won't waste her time with it.
Body: Are you cleansed? Spiritually cleansed, but also physically cleansed. A good way to worship Aphrodite and show that you're her follower is to just look good. Clean hair, clean face, clean body. Practice self care! Glamour magick can be brought into this as well!
Soul: Do you take care of your soul, your very essence of being? Self love is important to a healthy soul, as self-loathing will swarm you with negativity and create a vortex of bad energies that you will never truly be able to get rid of until you begin to love your soul. Aphrodite can't force you to love yourself, and she can't make you want to. You need to want to help yourself before she can help you.
So you've done all of the above with no answer? Look into what you're offering! Aphrodite is the Goddess of Beauty, forged from Sea, keep that in mind when making offerings!
Sea shells, mirrors, fancy lace, money (even coins!), good smelling candles, jewelry, all of these things are wonderful offerings!
Be patient. Don't expect an answer automatically, even if you've done everything right.

herbs for the fall equinox: 🍂
Tumblr media
mabon is one of the eight wiccan sabbats that are observed annually, aligning with the autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere !! this holiday celebrates the second harvest of the year, and many people use this time to thank the earth for its bountifulness
here are a few herbs you can use to celebrate mabon this year:
apples: associated with fertility, longevity, and abundance, apples are strongly tied to mabon !! try baking with them or place a few apple seeds on your altar
cedar: put a few drops of cedarwood oil into a diffuser or use cedar bark when burning spell petitions
calendula: planet this beautiful annual flower in your garden or brew the petals into a nice tea
blue sage: this herb is popularly burned for its protective properties, but you could also leave a sprig or two on your windowsill
corn: make a meal for yourself and others that includes this on the plate !! you could also feed the kernels to squirrels, deer, etc.
grapes: this is another fruit connected to wealth and fertility. hang the stems in a sachet nearby your bed to promote pregnancy, better dreams, and more income
book a reading !!
