☀️ Subtle Apollo Worship 🏹
Singing/listening to your favorite songs; this applies to any music, though
Listening to music while studying
Playing any instrument
Dedicating a journal to writing poetry or stories
Reading poetry books; reading ancient poetry/stories (especially ancient Greek poetry/stories)
Dancing to any music of your choice

Taking care of your body physically, such as brushing one's teeth or taking a shower
Taking a walk on a sunny day; basking in the warmth of the light
Keeping a pic of him in your wallet
Wearing jewelry that reminds you of him
Keeping imagery of swans, cranes, or ravens around (swans and cranes might be a safer bet if in an evangelical household; ravens may be seen as "too dark")
Having sun imagery around (although he is not the Greek god of the sun, many associate him with the sun these days; he is officially a god of light, however)
Getting a wolf or dolphin stuffed animal (sacred animals of his)
Anything to do with positive and healthy self-wellness
Learning archery
Learning to do divination outside of the obvious (the obvious being tarot, runes, and pendulums, for example; not obvious would be cartomancy, pyromancy, carromancy, shufflomancy, etc.)
Doing homework (yes, really)
Being kind to yourself when you're having a difficult time
Placing positive affirmations on somewhere you'd see them everyday, especially ones about things you're proud of
Checking in with yourself emotionally throughout the day; how are you feeling? What are some good things that have happened so far? What are some not so good things?
Learning about philosophy and taking note of your thoughts on the topic
Learning more about yourself (e.g. make a list of things you enjoy, try new hobbies, experiment with new outfits, etc.)
Expressing yourself through art of any kind
Having a candle that reminds you of him (no altar needed)
-
May add more later! For now, this is my list of discreet ways to worship Apollo. I hope it helps someone, and take care, y'all! 🧡

and so on and so forth
she is the goddess of beauty, she doesn’t care about how you look now as long as you find a way to love yourself eventually
you all are beautiful, even if you don’t think so

Small Devotions
I do small things almost every day to honor the Gods. I wanted to compile a little list below, to inspire others and show them that there’s plenty of ways to honor Them throughout daily life! (I also just love to talk about the things I do for Them 🖤)
• Light a candle for Lady Hestia while cleaning my kitchen and cooking, then offering Her some of what I cook.
• Offering taking my medicine to Lord Apollon and Lord Asklepios
• Offering certain things that I study to certain Gods, and lighting Their candles as I do it
• I make sure I go around roadkill that vultures are eating to honor Lord Ares
• I plan on dedicating my exercise/muscle building to Lord Ares
• Thinking of and honoring Lady Persephone and Lady Demeter as I tend to my family and I’s garden
• Feel the Gods’ presence as I take walks/go to parks
All of these small things make me feel so connected to Them throughout day to day life. The Gods are in everything 🖤

Normalize not giving yourself shit for "not doing enough" for your religion, or not practicing as much as you would like to, especially if you're burnt out. The gods give you understanding and grace, why can't you give it to yourself?

Have you ever looked at a God?
In your dreams turn to face Hypnos, God of Sleep Lord of Flowers and Father of Dreams
Have you ever gazed at a God?
His face beautiful with the softness of feathers and his eyes pale blue like gentle delphinium.
Has a God ever gazed back at you?
Love overcome, for You are as precious as the God to you. A God loves you and is devoted as you are His devotee. Hypnos ever so gentle, tending to your dreams as you do His altar.
To Love Hypnos
To be
Loved

Etna, my fire chariot ❤️‍🔥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Image description, provided kindly by @blatantescapism
[Image description: four photos of the same wheelchair, customized in a badass, bright, and bold Fire theme. The wheel spokes are done in alternating red, orange and yellow; they probably look amazing in motion. The frame is black and red, with hot rod style airbrushed orange flames. The back support cushion is covered with black and red fire-patterned fabric. The back of the cushion has a punk patch, held in place with safety pins. The patch is hand-embroidered with the image of a person with spiky hair, racing fast, while flames shoot out the back of their wheelchair. All together, the look is fierce and fun in a “just try and stop me” way. End ID. /]

Witchy Self-Care
*pulls out draft from over a year ago* ENJOY
Hi! this is a list of witchy self-care things you can do. Most of these are pretty basic on account that i wrote this ages ago but they definitely still work. Anyways, I hope these help :)
Do the dishes and dedicate it to your house spirit (if you have one) or a deity (if you're religious)
sweep/mop your floor in the shape of sigils
add rosemary (or rosemary water/essential oils) to the water you mop with to set an intention of cleansing
taking ritual a bath/shower
cleansing your energy. it's so basic but I forget more than i'd like to admit
dedicating time to yourself. it's just as important as dedicating time to your deities/other spirits
light shadow work or going to therapy. bettering your mental health also betters your spiritual.
go outside and ground yourself
take a nap (less witchy, more, I love naps. rest is important)
work out/stretch and dedicate it to an entity
do some gratitude
take 5 minutes to just sit and turn off your devices. you can use this time for anything, just take a second to get off screens and connect with the world around you
meditate. if you can't sit still long enough to meditate, just focus on taking 3 deep breathes
when you wash your face, draw sigils on your face with the cleanser and moisturiser
^do the same as above but with your body wash and when you wash your hair
say some affirmations/manifestations while brushing your teeth
just check in with yourself and see how you're feeling spiritually, psychically and emotionally. sometimes we don't actually know how we're feeling until we sit down and actually ask ourselves.
If anyone has any more to add please comment. I'll add them to the list (with credit of course)

Quick reminder for both new pagans and experienced pagans: it's normal to not always feel a deity's presence, and it's normal even if you never feel their presence. You're not doing anything wrong.

Some Aphrodite facts for people who want to know more!!
✶She’s the mother of Hermaphroditus, the god of effeminacy and the origin of the word hermaphrodite. They’re an intersex person born with male and female characteristics.
✶ Aphrodite was believed to have a magical girdle (or belt) called the "Cestus," which could enhance her irresistible allure and seductive powers.
✶ In addition to her romantic and sexual aspects, Aphrodite was also revered as a protectress of sailors, offering safe passage across the seas.
✶ She was also worshipped as a protector of prostitutes and courtesans, reflecting her association with love and desire in all its forms.
✶ Aphrodite's name originated from the word Sea-foam.
✶ The dove, The affectionate white or turtle-dove was the bird of love, was a bird sacred to the goddess Aphrodite. Doves were said to draw her heavenly chariot, and the Syrian Aphrodite Ashtarte was said to have been hatched from an egg nursed by doves.
✶ In most sculptures, she is often depicted with a round face and a pear body shape! Even having rolls on some of them.

I love seeing prayers and stories of devotees who worship Gods that I don’t worship.
Actually, I’ve always been like this.
I love hearing the tales of religions that I don’t subscribe to. Even if I don’t agree with every Christian, I do enjoy hearing Christians talk about how wonderful Jesus is and what he means to them personally.
I enjoy hearing Muslims talk about their prayers, how they reserve time out of their day for their God.
I enjoy hearing Jews sing their psalms, I love hearing about how they prepare their food, how they consider God’s hands in their meals.
I love hearing about Hellenic rituals and Semetic celebrations. I love learning about the different holy days among different groups of pagans.
I love learning how different people have incorporated different Gods, acts, and customs into their faith. I love hearing about their myths and legends, the stories they tell their children before bed.
I love hearing about the different ways that humanity has connected to their personal idea of God.
I don’t worship Apollon or Shiva today, but I am so delighted to hear the prayers of those that do. It’s like I’m getting to feel the mist erupting off of a waterfall. Or hearing the echo of a song that I do not know the lyrics to, but I can still hum the melody. I can feel the notes permeate my mind, even if I don’t know what they mean.
I love that there are people who worship these Gods that I do not worship. I’m happy that there is so much diversity among humanity that we have enough love in us for all of them.
For the ones that even I don’t know the names of, or felt the warmth of. Someone has.
That’s a very very good thing.
