Bloom's into ppl who slay! Hope this helps :3
#alright snark and ship wars aside i get where you’re coming from tho#if you're genuinely interested in my thought process here i would love to elaborate#which is exactly what I’ll do!#first of all! the post you linked is about headcanons#which my brain kinda wants to put into a whole different category than ships — fandom ships in particular! — but i can leave that aside#because there IS an argument to be made that relationships are an extension of characterization and personality traits#if you wanna go that route i would wanna explain that Bloom's and/or Valtor's interest in the other is in fact based on canon#(even though I don’t really think ships need to be established in the source material. make shit up that’s what fandom is for#1) the Andros episode speaks for itself. Valtor specifically tells the Trix to back off because HE wants to be the one to fight bloom#2) the episode before that he asks questions about her (and only her; even though he has more powerful enemies to worry about)#demonstrating curiosity about and interest in her#3) that same episode (or the one before; can’t remember) is their infamous first meeting#where time LITERALLY slows down as the pass each other on the stairs#they get IMPACT FRAMES#the whole color palette changes!!!#idk about u but I eat that shit up. love the drama of it all no one does it like them#I’m gonna skip all the instances where Valtor is spying on Bloom through his little scrying spell because oh god who has the time#let’s go straight to Bloom#if I had a week I would not be able to collect all the moments where she growls his name in pure fury and single-minded determination#she gets a little bit obsessed with him over the course of the season and I personally think that’s very sexy of her#Bloom is known for her tunnel vision when it comes to her past and origins and Valtor's existence fits PERFECTLY into that#it ties in neatly with her overarching story of the past 2 seasons#literally PERFECT foils#which always makes for the juiciest stories#4) she singles him out for a duel in the museum episode#5) she can literally feel his presence#6) the mere mention of his name sends her into her weird faux enchantix#of course there’s no romance in canon but there’s TENSION AND CHEMISTRY which is all u really need for a ship#all their animosity and bad blood is what makes it so INTERESTING to wonder how they COULD work. it’s the spice that makes for good fanfic!

You open the door and walk into, the familiar empty space that you’re ready to call home. You walk further into the apartment, imagining all of the memories that will lie within these walls. You couldn’t wait, the excitement causing you to squeal.
“I’m more than excited, but carrying all of these boxes isn’t all that exciting. You have so many things”
You pull back and hit his arm lightly. “Let me remind you, it’s both of our things combined. I’m not the only one that’s guilty, pretty boy. Now you gonna help me with the rest or what?” You ask walking out of the new place.
You pull back and hit his arm lightly. “Let me remind you, it’s both of our things combined. I’m not the only one that’s guilty, pretty boy. Now you gonna help me with the rest or what?” You ask walking out of the new place.
You and Leon had been dating for a bit now when Leon requested to take things slow, you agreed within a heartbeat. You kept your promise to him and the two of you really did take things slow, some may argue too slow, but it was the pace both of you were comfortable with.
Before the two of you thought of the idea you both had a toothbrush at each other’s place, it felt so natural. There was even a point where Leon basically lived with you for months because he didn’t want to be alone.
He was the first to propose the idea of moving in together, at first you were a little on edge. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to move in with him, it was just newfound territory. It wasn’t going to be for a few months, it was (you were hoping) going to be til you were old and wrinkly. He knew you were on edge with the topic, so he continued with a smile and a “only if you’re comfortable.”
After a few months and a lot of thinking, you brought up the topic again, having an actual sit down with his. You spoke about your boundaries and he spoke about him, once you both agreed to everything and had a quick makeout session because of the news, you figured everything out. Both of you wanted to have a new apartment, and a new environment, with new furniture, appliances, and space. You and Leon went apartment hunting together, bought furniture together, and packed everything together.
Now here you are today, walking up and down stairs, getting boxes from the truck, giving a glance at each other when you pass each other. Once all the boxes were settled, you laid out on the floor, Leon sitting next to you, the both of you out of breath.
“Let’s not move again after this,” he said, his voice scratchy.
“Agreed.” You responded as you got up to walk to the kitchen. You got the box cutter and opened the box with the label ‘Glass’ on it.
“When did you say everything was coming in?” He followed you as you took two cups out of the box.
“The couch, table, and rug are coming in next week, they said the mattress should be here tomorrow but the bed set and dressers won’t be here til the end of the week. I forgot when he said the dining things should be here. But we still have some tables and plants to get, along with maybe some paintings and picture frames.” you say as you put the cup under the facet and hand him a glass.
Leon groaned, “hotel tonight?” he asked sipping on his cup of water. You sipped on yours and nodded quietly.
The rest of the day was spent with both of you putting all the kitchen things in the cabinets and drawers. Then once you were done with that you did some cleaning and some planning on where to put things. Once it was starting to get dark Leon left to get some take-out nearby, coming back 20 minutes later.
Sitting on the floor and talking about the future of the apartment, making up some plans and ideas whilst eating. It already felt so natural that at this moment, you made the right decision.
Once you were done you wanted to go back to cleaning and putting things away but Leon insisted on looking for a place to stay for the night since the both of you did a lot. You didn’t want to leave just yet so you settled on a game of rock paper scissors, Leon won.
─── ・ 。゚☆: . ☽ . :☆゚。・ ───
When you woke up the next morning, the familiar arms around your waist the first thing you thought of was the mattress that was being delivered today. After you fought for your freedom away from his arms you went to take a shower and started your day early. When you came back and noticed him still sleeping, you decided to wake him up, explaining what you had to do today.
After all the effort he finally woke up, mumbling some complaints and going to the bathroom. Coming out with a new outfit on and his teeth brushed. You checked out and went to the apartment, now waiting for the mattress.
You were finishing cleaning up while Leon was on putting the things in the bathroom duty. Leon’s job is too easy and too quick for him. “Is that all you wanted me to do?” he asked, walking back into the main area.
“If you want, you could go look for a new bathroom set. Curtains, rugs, those cute little toothbrush holders.”
He tilted his head, “are you sure you don’t want to do that with me? You look like you have a style going for you.”
You stopped sweeping. “I still have to clean up, it’ll save so much time if you’d just go now.”
Leon still looked unsure, not convinced.
“Leon, you are a grown-ass man. Please go outside and get a good-looking set.”
“Is there a style you wanted? Or like a specific color? Maybe what you don’t want or-”
You kissed his lips lightly, “just make sure it looks cute, kay?” you smile up at him. Leon looks like there are a thousand thoughts in his mind but once he shakes his head, he focuses. “Okay, yeah. I’ll get the- the cute ones..” he says, telling himself more than he’s telling you.
He shakes his head against and kisses your lips quickly again, “I should be back soon. Love you” he said as he kissed your cheek, heading out the door.
“Love you too!” you called back, the door closing when you finished your sentence. You huffed and looked back at what you had to do.
You spent the rest of your time cleaning till everything was perfect. After a couple of hours, you began to worry since Leon still wasn’t back and you hadn’t heard from him since he left. When you heard your bell ring you were hoping it was him and he had forgotten his key. But after a few minutes, a knock was at the door when you found out it wasn’t your favorite blond but the mattress guy.
He put the mattress in the middle of the living room and left with a smile and a tip you gave him. You were tempted to jump on it and relax for a bit, but you wanted the first time to be with him so you continued your job.
A few hours after the mattress was delivered the door finally opened. Leon had so many plastic bags in his hand, take-out in the other, and he had only a smile on his face. He kissed the top of your head as a hello and just started speaking.
“You have to see everything I got, everything was just so nice in there!” He said, setting the bags down. “Oh yeah?” you asked, walking to the bags and looking at what was inside the food bag. The both of you sat on the floor again and Leon just kept talking while eating dinner.
“I got so many things in there that I didn’t just get bathroom stuff. I got this picture frame, you know for the entryway and it could be the picture of us inside. This picture frame could be when we get a dog, cat, or both. The landlord said he didn’t care, remember? Oh! And this! Oh my god, so it’s a fake plant but it looks real so I was thinking we could use it in the entry”
Leon just kept going and going, showing every item like it was your first time seeing them. He even told the reasonings as to why he got the certain color shower curtain with this oddly shaped rug. He was just so excited about everything that all you did was listen, nod, and admire him.
It wasn’t until he was out of breath from talking so much he stopped to get a glass of water. When he walked back, he finally noticed the mattress. “What is that?” he asked.
You laugh at him, “what does it look like, pretty boy? It’s our bed” you respond, getting up and throwing out the garbage. “It’s here already?” he asked. You looked back at him confused, “how long did you think you were out? I was able to put the covers, blanket, and pillows on it while you were gone” you respond to him.
Leon looked shocked, not by everything you did or how the mattress just randomly showed up but because of how long he was in the store.
“Wanna try it?” you asked, Leon’s heard perking up and nodding quickly.
He took your hand and the both of you jumped on it together. Comfortable wasn’t even the word for this mattress, it felt like you were with a cloud. It didn’t matter that it was on the floor in your living room, you were both so cozy and warm that you knew everything that you were once doing, wouldn’t finish tonight.
“This is amazing” Leon breathed out, “I agree. We made a good choice” you respond to him.
Leon held you close as he was now planting kisses all over your face while you were just giggling at him. He kept trying to pull you even closer to him but to no avail. “What’s gotten into you?” you giggle at him.
“Just happy to be home” he mumbled in between kisses. “Do you not like it?” he stopped.
“No, I love it. I just think there’s more to it than just this”
Leon then put his lips on yours, and you kissed him back as he put his hands on the back of your head, pushing your lips forward. He took this opportunity to deepen the kiss and you accepted him greatly.
When you pulled away you both caught your breath, “I knew there was more to it” you mumble, Leon only smiles and pecks your lips.
“Only testing the bed. You don’t have to if you don’t want to” he reassures you, looking at you in the eyes to make sure you’re certain. But what he sees is certainty in your eyes.
You nodded quickly, “let’s test it out,” you say, kissing him again, grabbing onto the back of his neck.
─── ・ 。゚☆: . ☽ . :☆゚。・ ───
The next few weeks after this was just filled with work, shopping, and waiting for furniture. You both didn’t want to build anything until you had everything.
Leon had bought groceries so you wouldn’t be eating takeout for the rest of your life, you looked at some plants and paintings, slowly but surely placing them in random spots in the apartment. The couch was when the apartment started to look more like a place to live. Your entry table was the first thing the both of you built, it was pretty quick and easy, so when it was put in the entryway, with the picture frames, plants, and a calendar, you squealed together.
All of the furniture you build together, every dining chair, table, random seat, and the bookshelf was a joint effort. You placed all of the rugs in the spots they were meant to be in while Leon just decorated the bathroom.
The last thing to show up was the bed and dressers. Now when the guy delivered them his job was to also build them, and he was doing it for free. But Leon insisted the man leave so that he could build it. The man kept telling him that it was part of his job and that it was okay. But Leon assured him he had it covered and even tipped the man large just to leave.
He did not have it.
Leon groaned in frustration, “Y/n!” he called from the master bedroom. You rolled your eyes as you were setting the dining table. “Coming, Leon!” you called back. You stepped back and looked at the decor on the table stratified you walked to your boyfriend.
“What’s the problem?” you ask, he handed you a small booklet.
“Do you think you could read the instructions to me? It’s hard to stay on track while also trying to build”
You laughed and sat down on the mattress that was on the floor of the bedroom. “Nope. I told you I wasn’t going to help you because you didn’t let the nice man build it for you”
Leon rolled his eyes, “because I knew I could do it myself. I still can!” he tries to defend himself but you only laugh at him even more.
You get on your knees next to him, taking the booklet from his hands. You read the instructions and it looks pretty simple to you. You hand it to him and stand up, getting the pieces together. “Read it to me,” you say.
“Are you sure? I can do it while you read-”
“Read it!” you cut him off. Leon quickly turned to the page.
He starts to read out what you’re meant to be doing and you are doing it in a breeze. It wasn’t until the middle that conflicts began. Stupid little comments here and there.
“It isn’t meant to go that way,” Leon said, looking at the booklet and back at what you were building. You walk over to the booklet and walked back to the progress.
“It looks the exact same, Leon. Please just continue reading”
“No it doesn’t look how this is facing, your’s isn’t facing that way.”
“It is facing that way” you argue back.
“Maybe I should do this,” Leon said, putting the booklet down.
“Maybe we should’ve let the furniture man do this” you mumbled.
“I didn’t want furniture man in my home!” Leon defends his actions.
“He was here to build everything, what did you think was going to happen!?” you ask, a smile on your face. You both knew this wasn’t a serious argument so neither of you was able to keep it together.
“What if you looked at him building the bed and thought ‘hm, maybe I should live with him.’ Ever thought about that tough guy?” Leon argued back, a smile on his face too as his hands were on his hips.
You laugh loudly at him, walking over and wrapping your arms around him, Leon doing the same as he tries to hold back his laughter. “Why would I even think about that?”
“I don’t know, I’m making things up at this point,” he says
The two of you continue to laugh together finally deciding on reading and building together which actually helped get the bed frame done quicker. Once it was finished both move the bed to the bed frame and jumped on the mattress again, this time not on the floor.
─── ・ 。゚☆: . ☽ . :☆゚。・ ───
Time after this was simple. Instead of Leon getting excited over the bathroom it was you getting excited over the bedroom. Every decoration you wanted and put fit perfectly in your shared bedroom.
Just like you did with him, Leon watched the way you squealed even with putting down a small picture frame of just the two of you placed on top of the dresser. He would always walk over to you and kiss the top of your head when you were done. He was completely smitten with you.
Once everything was settled this was a dream come true for him. He was happier knowing that he would be able to wake up and fall asleep with you by this side every morning and night. He was happier looking at the apartment while you were at work and just seeing how the both of you mixed everything to make this shelter for the both of you.
What he didn’t think would happen was how much harder it was to leave you. It was already difficult before, but knowing that’ll you’ll be in the apartment you shared, all by yourself, while he was out on a mission, fighting some creature…
It crushed him.
The night before he left, holding onto you tighter than he has before because he knew he would leave in the middle of the night. When he woke up and had to watch as you were asleep peacefully, not being able to give him a proper goodbye. He gave you one, of course, a kiss on the cheek with some whispered words. In the middle of the mission, he was just thinking of you expecting his arrival, that’s what keeps him going, you. When he’s finished and on his way back, his mind is just on you, nothing else.
You lay on the couch, watching the tv, blanket wrapped around you as you were slowly falling asleep when you didn’t want to. Your eyes close but flutter open shortly after, only for them to try to close again.
The room was dark, with only the tv screen and a few candles supporting it with light, the room looked so homey and cozy, it’d make anyone want to fall asleep.
You didn’t even realize the door had opened or that someone was in front of you until you felt your blanket rise as he moved to lay on the couch with you. You open your eyes slightly as you mumble his name, “Leon?”
He hushes you, his arms around your neck as your head rests on his shoulder. “I’m so tired, pretty” he mumbles.
“I am too” you respond.
You kiss the top of his head once you hear the quiet snores, closing your eyes again.
That’s when you knew you would spend the night sleeping on the couch, with the person you’d move in with a thousand times again.

Will Solace is so strong.
This is the thought that floats through Nico’s head as he watches the infirmary staff make trips to and from the Big House carrying box after box of replenishing supplies.
He sits by the hearth, absentmindedly dragging the tip of his sword through the dirt in lazy figure eights as he voyeurs.
Will pushes the door open with his foot and pauses to shift the position of the box in his arms. His face scrunches up in brief concentration and his shoulders and biceps flex beneath his Camp Half-Blood tank top, jostling the parcel into a more amicable position.
Nico tried to pull from his subconscious any recollection of what those arms felt like on the not insignificant amount of occasions where he was carried toward that very same building they were making deliveries to. Sadly, though, he came up only with dream-like imaginings. It was unfair, really, for the amount of passing out Nico had done in Will’s arms, that he couldn’t remember what they felt like wrapped around him, chords of muscles taught beneath freckled skin.
Once Will has a better grip, he steps farther out of the doorway and turns to hold the door open with his back, allowing Paolo to pass by carrying two much smaller boxes.
And considerate, Nico thinks.
His eyes follow the demigods as they make another trip down the steps of the Big House and across the courtyard to the wooden shack where Will and the other camp medics work. Nico can see Will’s calves peeking out beneath his eternal cargo shorts, tensed and defined with years of literally running around battlefields healing campers.
Will laughs at something Paolo says to him and Nico’s feels a fluttering in his chest.
Will has the most drop-dead gorgeous smile Nico’s ever seen…
“You’re staring.”
Nico almost jumps out of his skin, his grip on his sword tightening instinctively as his head snaps around to whomever had caught him.
Drew from cabin 10 was smirking at him with her arms crossed. His face burned.
“No judgement,” she said, glancing up as the boys emerged once more from the infirmary, “Paolo looks hot with his hair up like that.”
Nico isn’t sure what to say, but words tumble out of his mouth regardless.
“I wasn’t staring at Paolo,” Nico half-confessed before he bit his own tongue, cutting himself off.
Drew looked back to him, and again smirked knowingly.
“I know,” she said.
Then, she simply turned and walked away again, swishing her hips the whole way she went.
Nico could still feel the heat in his face and he glared daggers into the ground where the impression of his blade had made a small gash in the dirt and in a small radius around it, surrounding greenery was not longer green.
Nico pulled his blade out and tried pushing some dirt into the hole with his foot. After what felt like a discreet enough amount of time, he allowed his gaze to wander back up. He saw Paolo making his way empty-handed to the infirmary and Will standing at the base of the stairs, a sagging plastic bag in each hand. He listened intently to Chiron, who’s equine lower half was tucked away into his wheelchair today as he sat at the top of the stairs on the porch.
The way Will was oriented, the sun that bled through the trees got caught in his hair, illuminating the blond curls so it appeared as though his face was framed in literal gold. Beads of sweat glistened on his bronze-colored shoulders and at the base of his neck, tanned beautifully by the summer rays.
Will finished his discussion with Chiron and was making a final trip back across the courtyard. He started whistling a tune as he walked, and it carried on the air, traveling farther than Nico thought was probably naturally possible, and ringing out clearly down the valley so that campers milling about slowed and relaxed as they listened to the melody.
Will was maybe the most effortlessly beautiful demigod at camp, Nico concluded with an involuntary sigh.
Will, with his calves like carved marble, lean, muscular arms peppered with freckles that seemed to multiply the longer the summer dragged on. His golden hair and his perpetual goofy grin and his laughing eyes, so blue you felt like you were falling into a cloudless sky.
Eyes that were looking directly at him.
Oh Styx, Nico thought, he’s looking right at me.
Nico’s posture straightened and he looked pointedly away from Will and very inconspicuously at the dining pavilion, then the sky, then the ground. His face burned as an embarrassed blush crept back up his cheeks.
…But even though he had just been caught so obviously gawking, he couldn’t help but chance one last look toward the boy.
Relief (and a twinge of something he couldn’t quite name) flooded Nico’s body when he saw Will was no longer looking at him, simply looking in the direction he was walking. Nico let out a breath he didn’t realize he had been holding.
Will arrived at the entrance to the wooden shack and, with no free hands, kicked the bottom of the door in a rhythmic knock. He stood for a few seconds longer before someone pushed the door open from the inside. Will caught the edge of the door with his ankle, exposed and prominently on display in his signature flip-flops, and pushed it fully open to head inside.
Not before, however, looking over his shoulder and locking eyes with the son of Hades.
Nico almost looked away, but he faltered when he saw the smile that broke out across his face. Like they were now both in on a shared secret. To cement the fact that he was now also staring, Will winked.
Nico felt like he was short circuiting, and he saw rather than heard Will laughing to himself, his shoulders bouncing gently before he disappeared into the building at last.
Oh my gods, Nico thought, Will Solace just saw me staring at him.
Then- almost laughing himself now,
And he stared back.

if you’re taking lockwood and co requests can i ask for “you can hold my hand if you want” with george karim?? maybe reader and george like each other but are both super nervous
Tumblr media
“Oh for crying out loud.” You groaned into your pillow as you came to realise that you’ve -once again- found yourself awake at 3 in the morning. This very same scenario has happened so frequently, that it was beginning to get increasingly difficult for you to track when the last time you had decent amount of sleep was.
Instead of trying to get back to sleep, knowing firsthand how fruitless that endeavour was, you stumbled half asleep down the stairs towards the kitchen, where you’d make yourself some tea that you’ve read somewhere that helps with sleepless nights. Only to then afterwards head off towards the library to read a random book of your choosing in hopes of it boring you so badly you fall asleep in the armchair within the first five minutes of reading.
However as you entered the kitchen to make your tea, you took immediate note of the additional company of George, who looked just as exhausted as you probably looked if you had even bothered to look into a mirror, nursing his own drink between his hands as he stared off into the distance. “George?” At your voice, George’s brown eyes glanced towards it’s source almost immediately and just as fast as he looked over at you, his eyes found solace in a area of the thinking cloth pinned beneath his ceramic mug.
“Couldn’t sleep?” You spoke again when he didn’t as to avoid awkward silence only to find that insufficient and began to move yourself deeper into the kitchen to grasp your mug, plop a teabag inside along with your preferred amount of sugar to then flipping on the kettle, waiting with your back pressed against the counter as the water boiled. “I guess we’re in the same boat then.” You chuckled awkwardly, growing a little more uncomfortable with standing in utter silence across from your crush as time passed both you by unbearably slow.
So when the kettle finished boiling, you, feeling as though your company wasn’t warranted, were just about to leave the kitchen and head back upstairs but just as you passed him by; George was quick to grab ahold of your sleep shirt-albeit gently- preventing you making it any further out of the kitchen then had you intended. “Wait.” He said, letting go of your sleep shirt here he noticed that he had your attention, “keep me company?” He asked and a small smile drew itself onto your face as you agreed to his request by drawing out a chair a little way aways from his, only to be stoped when George patted the chair next to him.
“Why sit so far from me. I’m not cursed am I?” George joked as he pushed his falling glasses back up onto the brim of his nose, smiling almost playfully which made the corner of his eyes crinkle into crows feet. He always looked his most beautiful smiling, talking passionately about his most recent findings, or when he- well you thought he was beautiful all of the time. Yet seeing him doing small actions only added to his beauty and god was he beautiful in your eyes.
So beautiful that he made you nervous within his presence.
“Not to my knowledge you aren’t, unless your withholding something from us?” You responded playfully as you sat yourself on the chair next to him, tensing up whenever you felt his shoulder brush against your own periodically. “Even if I was you’d be the first to know.” George said almost as though he were on autopilot from the lack of sleep fogging up the more coherent parts of his mind. His words sounded genuine enough for you to believe in but what caught you off guard was the pressure you felt ontop of your hand.
Which frightened you to almost literal death as you instinctively drew your hand from George’s with a sharp gasp that had worry flashing across the speckled males face as he quickly drew his hand from yours as though touching your skin burnt him. “I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable I’m-“ “you can hold my hand if you want.” You found yourself saying without much filter, cutting him off abruptly as you laid your hand palm up as an invitation for George to gingerly place his hand on top of your own.
They fit together perfectly like puzzle pieces, that you both released a breath neither of you knew you were withholding until you both looked up from your clasped hands to stare into each other’s eyes instead. The breath left your lungs as you allowed yourself to get lost in his features as he got lost in yours; so much so that neither of you were aware of the fact that your drinks had gotten cold and there were a matching set of dopey smiles mirroring one another.

The Lupin Family: a story (and headcanons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Lupins were a family of three: Lyall, Hope and Remus. They lived on a small farm in the town of Mold, Wales. Their house was small and simple, but incredibly warm and cozy. They were happy. Now let's start where their story starts: When Lyall met Hope...
He always saw her at the public library in a small town in Wales, she practically lived there, always with a history book in hand. He never did have the courage to talk to her, until that night. He was on that city for a mission, and it was to catch that vicious boggart, Hope had took the trail through the woods that night, after leaving her boring office job. She always had a very fertile imagination, so the boggart quickly took shape, and she started screaming, Lyall went running to her aid. He helped her and asked her out on a date. They fell in love rather quickly, the kind of love that felt like two were teenagers again, even though they were both into their thirties. They married quickly, within a year they were both married and moving together to Mold, their son Remus was born shortly after.
Hope Howell was a short skinny muggle woman, she had brown slightly curly hair, dark eyes and a kind smile. Her voice was sweet but spikey and she had a thick welsh accent. She mostly wore flowery dresses, in blue and greenish tones, she wore lots of braids and almost never let her hair down. She loved wearing the tichel to do her gardening, it was when she felt closest to God. She was a very kind mother and teacher, a great listener, even though she looked short and weak, she gave the strongest most suffocating amazing hugs
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lyall was very tall and skinny, like Remus, he had long fingers and a bony hand, he kept his brown hair short and beard visible, trimmed and organised. He had to look respectable, he had to keep appearences. He usually only wore earth tones and was almost all the time wearing the same brown suit and light washed jeans. He smoked a pipe but almost never drank. He was an atheist, like most pureblood wizards. they were really great parents, they didn't have much, not many people surrounding them, but they managed to give their son the best childhood a child could want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They were literally SO FULL OF LOVE you could feel it in the way they looked at each other and that child was their whole lives. Their lives were basically all around Remus, Lyall loved taking him on walks and teaching him about animals, Hope always read him books, and before bed, the both of them read something for their son to sleep, that's why he started reading at a very young age. No matter how long they were married, they still remained completely in love and passion.
Lyall loved giving his wife theatrical kisses in front of Remus because he looked like a tomato whenever they showed affection in front of him.
Every Sunday night, after Remus went to sleep (or just up to his room) Lyall put out the radio on his favourite station, where they played the most romantic slow songs and he and his wife danced cheek to cheek in the living room until they got tired.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They also had a dog, a chocolate labrador named Luther, and Remus when he was little played w him like a pony, mounting in his back and running around the farm.

Their house was incredibly full of books, there was a book in every corner, everywhere you looked. the house had cranky stairs and always signaled when someone was going up or down, only Remus knew how to use them silently. Lyall was a great cook so he always made their dinner. hope had a huge green thumb and she took care of all the plants on their farm (her favorites were the flowers. They grew all sorts of vegetables on the farm and raised a few chickens but they mostly didn't eat meat. Hope was in charge of the plants in the house and Lyall of the animals, they raised chickens (for eggs), some ducks, they had a cow for the milk, and their dog, of course. hope always left some fruit outside and seeds to feed passing birds.

When Remus got bitten, just before he turned five, Lyall did everything in his power to change his mind about werewolves, he tried to distance himself from the wizarding world and only work as a farmer, working with magic when it came to treatment for Remus. They didn't have much money, but still, Lyall spent it all on research. In the beginning, he searched for a cure, a way to heal his innocent little boy, but when Remus was almost 9, he just looked for palliatives, medicine, and just the best way to take care of him. Lyall felt extremely guilty for what happened to his child, he was in a shocked state the first two days and distanced himself from his family because he didn't know what to do, he felt he had doomed and ruined his baby's life forever, but he shook it off pretty quickly, and spent every minute since, trying to make it up for what he felt he caused. But don't think that Hope and Lyall's marriage wasn't shaken by all of that, they fought a lot when Lyall spent all their money, when he couldn't look his son in the eyes, but they never even once thought of separating. They decided that even if nobody could love their child by being who he was, they would be the ones to, werewolf and all, they loved all of him. That's why they were actually okay when Remus started dating Sirius because they saw that Sirius loved their boy the way he deserved, loving all of him.
Hope wasn't very close to her family, they were either dead or lived in Cardiff, and they didn't visit often because they did jot approve of her life with no ambitions. Lyall’s family was almost entirely dead, saving for his lesbian sister (closeted) and his mother (who died when remus was 4)
After Remus started Hogwarts Hope decided to dedicate more of herself to studying and her career, so she started some research for University, so she could work full-time as a historian and researcher. Lyall worked most of his life in the magical creatures department. Still, after everything with Remus, he decided to leave the magical world and started working full-time as a farmer, selling their produce in the city. After Hope's passing, he returned to working in the Ministry of Magic. (I am not getting into details bc I don't want this to be sad.)
Lyall played the acoustic guitar, and some nights when he wasn't too tired, everyone stayed in the kitchen to listen to it. Hope knew how to play the piano and she was an awesome singer. Remus loved it when everyone was happy at home, he loved the summer days when he woke up and went to get the eggs, listened to music in the living room, watched his mother reading, waited for his father to get home from work, then they all stayed in the kitchen. Lyall pulled out the guitar and Hope sang. These were the best, and they happened almost every summer night
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Lupins adored music, they listened to the Beatles, Billie Holiday, nico, the Beach Boys, Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, and anything jazz or blues (then, when Remus was a teen, he slowly convinced them to start loving rock)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The house was full of trinkets and had random things everywhere, they were somewhat accumulators because everything had a meaning or a memory to it Hope loved making jams and compote from the fruits she grew and she always sent one to Remus, she was also an amazing baker.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the summers, Remus went to help them to sell the produce in the city, and that was when he made some friends, but honestly, he didn't really want any friends, he had his books, his parents and music, and to him, that was more than enough. It was a bit surprising that he actually made friends at Hogwarts, but his parents were delighted to hear so, even if they were a bit scared at first. They always wanted Remus to bring his friends to the farm and they were just such cool parents!
They befriended the Potters when their sons were 12 and visited basically throughout the whole summer.
They were the most supportive loving parents, they were sweet and caring. Hope showed love through food and quality time, Lyall was a man of few words but showed love through actions, he always moved mountains to make them happy.
I made them a Pinterest board because I ran out of space for photos, you can access it here

—————————————————————————-
You both sat there for a moment holding one another’s hand staring at them as they stayed intertwined. Peter had seemed to catch the moment faster than you as he cleared his throat pulling away his hands. Checking the time he looked at the clock before his eyes locked onto the bed and then back at you. Your eyes had done the same. The clock reading 4:00am you both sighed. Peter stood up slowly “ Uh you take the bed and I got the wall” He grabs a blanket wrapping it around himself.
“ T-the wall? Peter that’s-no way you take the bed I’ll take the floor it’s okay” You tell him getting up off the bed. He quickly stops you shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders.
“ No no really it’s okay. Take the bed. I’ll sleep on the wall, it's fine.” He tells you with a reassuring smile on his face.
“ Peter” you insisted.
“ Okay, alright how about I take the floor and you sleep on the bed.” He demanded rather than bargained. He had made up his mind no longer wanting to fight over where anyone was sleeping. You were to take the bed and that was final. You had begun to form words when he looked at you and shook his head “I’m not gonna argue with you. No Y/N” He walks around you to the side of the bed reaching for a pillow. He walks back over to his closet pulling out a floor mat and a blanket. He laid the mat down next to the bed and grabbed his pillow with his blanket. Throwing his items down onto the mat he looks towards you finding you wrapped up in his blankets and pillows. You looked tired but in your eyes you could see Peter's exhaustion. You offered Peter a sleepy smile which he gladly returned crawling onto the mat covering himself with his blanket. Peter lifted up his hands, folding them as he aimed at the light switch. A web shoots out hitting the switch turning out the lights. It was silent, neither one of you said a word. Honestly what is there to say, you both were each other’s crushes and it must’ve been written in the skies or something. Maybe a big sign was written on your forehead or Peters who knows. There was an elephant in the room and it feels really big right now. You weren’t sure if you should say anything and Peter well…he was on the verge of passing out it was beginning to feel impossible considering the girl he dreams of is in his bed. You on the other hand there was no way you could sleep, this was Peter Parker for crying out loud. The guy you tend to think about before you fall asleep. It shouldn’t be this hard right? You both could fall asleep without the awkwardness of being in each other’s presence.
You huffed turning over to the side facing away from Peter and toward the window. The moon's beautiful glow illuminated the rest of the room. The building across the way is covered in older bricks and fire escape stairs the neighbors lights turn off. The sounds of sirens and honking horns could be heard. Peters police scanner hummed on a low sound. There was no peace, just anxiety. You realized that you aren’t at home, you are in fact in a different world that does not belong to you. Too many things had you all at once you began to really feel out of place. Your mind was running a mile a minute. Peter could sense the uneasiness you felt. He sighed and he guessed that this was probably really nerve wrecking. He wanted to comfort you but what could he say? Nothing, he had no wise words or words of encouragement. He made a mental note on practicing his speeches of soothing. He debated on getting up and distracting you from the worry but you two had barely known each other. You only knew of what you both had read. A part of you wanted Peter to reach out and hold you. Just as he had wished to do it too. What good would that do you both at this moment? Neither one of you had spoken on it. It doesn’t seem like the right time. The comfort you both seeked seemed to be shoved deep within yourselves. Instead you chose to ignore it all whispering a “ Goodnight Peter”
He looks to the ceiling whispering a “ Goodnight Y/n” he rolled over onto his side falling into a deep sleep. The sun had begun to rise, setting the day up for everyday lives. As the day goes on to its normal routine the police scanner picks up an issue down in lower Manhattan. Peter jolts awake and looks around noticing that he’s still on the floor. Dazed and confused for a moment before the events of last night come crashing in. He hadn’t realized that one of his arms was reaching for the bed. He follows it up all the way to his hand. He sits up slightly, his gaze lands on your intertwined hands; little did he know that you too were awake. Your eyes had followed the trail of your arm to your hand noticing that you were linked with his. Your eyes met as you leaned barely over the bed. You both had your eyes locked onto each other’s eyes neither one of you moving both frozen as the moment began to settle. Both of your breathing had picked up just a tad. Your heartbeats continued the rhythm with your breathing. You had stared into each other’s eyes neither one of you daring to pull away first. In your mind you tried to figure out how you ended up holding his hand. Had you instinctively searched out for him? Did he instinctively search out for you? Were you both trying to reach for each other looking for warmth? A safe place? Well to be honest you wanted him to hold you in his arms. You did seek that comfort and it didn’t help that he was yours. Peter had searched for you too looking for solace in your warmth. He wanted to caress your skin and to hold in his arms. Hell he even wanted you to hold him. Someone needs to hold someone that much was known given the fact you both had been holding each other’s hands the entire night. How did that even happen anyways? Okay so you both knew that answer. Yet here you both are gazing into one another’s eyes almost looking into each other’s souls…
“ OH MY GOD Y/N?!” A voice gasps loudly as a few bags drop onto the floor. Realizing who that was you panicked, making Peter panic. You both pulled away abruptly, scrambling out of your sleeping positions standing awkwardly. You made sure to put some distance between you and Peter trying not to seem suspicious. As if you both would get in trouble for doing something you shouldn’t have done. Staring at the person that stood in front of you both happened to be your best friend. Around her an outline of a circle glowed white around the edges. It looked as though someone took something sharp and carved it into the middle of the air. The edges of the circle not only glowed, it created a ripple effect changing the dynamics of the air making it look like ripples of water.
“Y/N!? WHO IS THAT?! WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU WITH A BOY-?“ She began to question what was in front of her eyes.
“ I can explain-“
“ You better explain BECAUSE I AM VERY CONFUSED. AND YOUR WITH A BOOOOYY” She switch’s between confusion and excitement.
You and Peter both avoided each other’s eyes, he looked around the room at everything else but you. You had trained your eyes on your best friend not daring to move them. She squinted her eyes between the both of you trying to find something hidden between the lines. Your friend gasped “ You held hands!”
Your eyes widened and Peter coughed. She began to smile as she teased you “ You held hands with a booooyyyyy” You felt the heat of the embarrassment your friend had bestowed upon you. You could feel it rise up towards your neck. You shook your head and ignored your best friends teasing. However Peter turned completely to the side avoiding the look your friend was now giving him. Peter immediately found that his plant much more intriguing than what your friend intended to say.
“ You, what's your name?” She questioned him.
“Don’t-Y/B/N” At this point in time you had slammed your forehead into your palm turning immediately to the opposite direction looking at the window. Ugh she’s embarrassing you. The one time the one time you needed her and yourself to act cool you can’t. She had stepped through the portal walking into the room standing in front of the both of you.
“ What? I am just asking a simple question?” She said simply crossing her arms with such ease.
“Huh? Me? Uh-its-uh Peter. Peter Parker” He turned back around and walked next to you. As he stood next to you the tension hit by a thousand. The electricity flows between the both of you it was undeniable even your best friend began smirking. He extends his hand out to her. She takes it in her hand, shaking it gently, at the same time recognition flickered across her face. She knew who he was too! Peter looked taken aback as her reaction said it all. “Peter Parker?!” Her eyes widening her eyes dart between you both. “Oh shi-'' You clamped a hand down on her mouth to keep her from talking. She only glared at you, shoving your hand away from her mouth. Peter looks between the two, his eyes squinting trying to piece together what was unfolding before him. You shook your head “ Um-Um-I-well-what had happened was-I was talking about the comic book I was reading-it-it happened to be about you-and-and nothing else” you say sheepishly as the heat traveled in your body. Embarrassment was the least of your problems but right now it was the biggest. The moment was soon interrupted by the closing of the portal. The ripples around the circle shook violently as the white outline of the circle became brighter as the hole closed. The middle of your living room apartment vanishes from thin air. The ripples and the circle turned the sight back into its original state untouched by portals of time and travel.
Your best friend's mouth had hung open as she stared into the blank space where the portal was. She was frozen. You looked to Peter who looked at you then you both turned back to your friend. A second later she broke through her frozen state extending her hands out towards the air searching for the portal. “ DID YOU SEE THAT?! WHERE IS MY LIVING ROOM OH MY GOD. MY LIVING ROOM IS GONE” Your friend cried as she wiggled her hands about the empty space looking for something. You crossed your arms and shook your head. You questioned how you could’ve missed the portal. Maybe you were too caught up in the moment or maybe you didn’t want to leave, maybe you weren’t sure if you could cross it. Then again Y/B/N was able to do so and she’s fine. You look back at her only to find her closing her eyes chanting “There’s no place like home” then peeking between her fingers to check to see if she was home. She was not. She was stuck here with you and Peter. You weren’t sure how you felt about that, you truly weren’t sure about anything. Your best friend hadn’t even noticed anything bizarre until she stepped through the portal and watched it disappear. Wait, can you only enter and not exit?
“ Peter?” You called out as he watched your friend with a worried expression. He’s eyes leave her manic state catching yours.
“ Yes” He replies, noticing that you have your thinking face on, the one he’s read about countless times in his novel.
“ Do you think it’s possible that we can only enter the portal and not exit?” You asked, watching his eyes process your words. His eyes widened realizing something that only he must know.
“ We need to go see Gwen” He says gathering his items, finding you a pair of his shoes that you could slide on and wear. He shoved a toothbrush in his mouth handing you one too. Your best friend is still looking for the portal she can’t seem to find. You take the toothbrush, placing it in your mouth as you brushed putting on your shoes at the same time. Your best friend huffed, giving up throwing her hands in the air. She turned to look at you both, noticing that you were in the motions of getting ready to leave. You both had finished your morning routine as you stood near the front door. Your best friend followed blindly, her mind in other places that were not present. It was a shock, you couldn’t blame her, it was a lot to take in. Especially when you witnessed something shutting you out of your home. You figured it wouldn’t fully hit her until you reached Gwen’s place. You were certain it would.
Peter pulled you back for a moment while your friend walked a few paces away. “I-uh-I-just” he shook his head looking at the floor before looking at you. You tilted your head to the side trying to decipher what he was saying. He reached up and attempted to cup one side of your face. He stopped a few inches, he debated. He dropped his hand shaking his head, “ I can’t-“
“ You can't do what, Peter?” You ask as your heart pounded so loud you could hear it in your ears. Peter chuckled nervously, shaking his head with a smile on his face. He wanted to touch you for a second longer since his first chance was ruined unfortunately by your wonderful best friend. Right now though wasn’t the time. He needed to get you Gwen’s. Peter shrugged and began walking backwards. “ Don’t worry about it. Let’s just get to Gwen’s”
You followed Peter grabbing the back of his jacket pulling him to you, your nose bumping his chest as he turned to face you. He looked down at you. You hold onto Peter as he avoids looking at you. You tried to capture his attention just for a moment. “ Peter?” The soft sound of your voice whispering his name was enough for him to catch a hold of your eyes. He closes his eyes for a second letting his own forehead touch with yours. Silence. Not even your best friend could be heard. The two of you stayed like that for a few moments. You both felt the intensity of chemistry flowing between you both. Your knowledge of each other’s existence, personalities molded together like glue. It felt as though this would be the last normal second you had together before things become more complicated. Peter sighed, pull away, your heart sung for him. You wanted him to stay longer and so did he. His heart had already been with you. But, still Peter knew you would leave it was a fact and he chose to push back a little bit more. That was a pain he didn’t want you to feel or himself. Mixed signals was the best he could give.
Peter smiled again, you watched him with careful eyes as he turned to start walking, his head tilted toward your friend signaling that you both should get moving. That would have to suffice for now until you can get a moment alone with him. You knew that you would go back home and live your life, but that doesn’t mean you didn’t want him. You did, he was here in front of you and all you got were mixed signals. You knew he was hiding something and you wanted to know why. You sighed following his lead, your Best friend slowing down so that she matched the pass with you both. She looked to you to find any hint of emotional disruption good or bad and she only found a concentrated expression. She looked at Peter, he held the same. She sighed too. This was going to be a long walk. Upon reaching Gwen’s apartment, Peter lifted his hand knocking on the door. Gwen opened the door, moving out of the way so that everyone could walk through. Shutting the door behind them, Y/B/N walked around the room. Peter stood near Gwen while you stayed near the door.
Gwen turned to you with a warm smile, she extended her hand out to you. “ You must be Y/N, Peter has spoken quite a lot about you”.

Pairing: Cassandra Cain x reader
Pronouns: She/They
Warnings: none
Word count - 0.9k
A/n: this sucks balls but there is like two good Cass fics on here so i had to write one.
Tumblr media
Cass pov
"Oh come on please!" Tim whined. "His dad won't let him come unless she goes," Tim had finally gotten a date with Conner only problem, Clark and Lois wouldn't leave their kid home alone for a weekend while they went on their anniversary.
"No,”
"Please, this is like the only time he can come to Gotham for more than a day, Please Cass just this once,”
"Why not get Steph or Babs to hang out with her," I'm sure she was nice but I was not interested in hanging out with some random super who's name I didn't even know.
"Babs is in Bludhaven with Dick and Steph is helping Bruce with a case,”
"Jason?" literally anybody else.
"Really? He's Jason, who knows where he is," Tim said, rolling his eyes. "Just do it. Please,”
"Kate,”
"She’s with her Girlfriend, just please I'm begging you," He grabbed my shoulders and shook me, "I'll do anything," I couldn't stand his puppy eyes.
"Urg fine but you owe me big time," His eyes went wide and he hugged me. "Go call Kon," He grinned ear to ear and ran up the stairs to his room. I already knew I would hate every second of this inevitably awkward weekend.
Y/n pov
"NO!"
"Please just go, Cass agreed to hang with you,"
"No, Cassandra scares me and I don't want to be third wheeling you and Drake the whole time. Pick a different weekend," That was a lie. Not completely, Cass did scare me but it's not like she could fly. And I had never spent any time with her but I knew she was pretty, gorgeous even and knowing me, I was bound to get flustered and embarrass myself. I turned and started to walk away.
"Bitch," he muttered under his breath. Temper. One of my many faults. I turned around and used all my strength to punch him across the face. He brought his hand up to his jaw, which if he had been human would've been broken. He swung towards me. I ducked but tripped backward knocking mums favourite lamp over and we watched in slow motion as it shattered. We looked at each other before he screamed, "MOM!”
"I'll go if you don't tell mom," I panicked. Mom loved that lamp more than us. I'd never be aloud out again.
"What honey," She stepped into the room and just about passed out.
"Krypto knocked over the lamp," Mom wouldn't let the poor boy in to house for at least the next week now. Oh well, sorry Krypto. She stomped off and started screaming at the poor boy before storming back upstairs. "Better get packing sis," I simply rolled my eyes and did just that.
"Bye Mom, Bye Dad!" We yelled before taking off toward Gotham city. We landed on Bruce Wayne's door step before Conner knocked on the door.
Cass pov
Bang bang bang. They were here. Tim came rushing down the stairs and bolted to the door. He opened it up and hugged Conner. I looked behind him and saw someone. Must be them.
"Hey, I'm Cass,"
"Y/n" I just nodded. I knew nothing about this person and I could tell she didn't wanna be here either.
"Why don't you come set up in my room," She smiled and picked up her bags before following me inside. I helped her with all her stuff and we set up a mattress on my floor for her. "I'm guessing you didn't wanna be here?"
"Nope, Kon blackmailed me sort of,"
"Sort of?"
Tim pov
"I sorta feel bad for forcing them into this,"
"Same but it was the only way we could see each other,"
"True, wanna make sure they haven't murdered each other yet?"
"Couldn't hurt,"
Y/n pov
After me and Cass got to talking, she wasn't so scary. She was sweet. Just as pretty as she was in pictures, if not prettier. God her voice was perfect. I could listen to it all damn day. She was my dream girl. There was no one like her.
"Y/n?" I was snapped out of my daze and Cassandra looked at me, confused.
"Damn I knew it," I mumbled. I knew I would do something like this.
"Knew what?"
"That I would get flustered because your just so pretty and cool and now I just admitted that so it'll be even more akw-" She shut me up with her lips. After the shock of her kissing me passed, I kissed back and slide my hand up to the nape of her neck. She pulled back, only because we needed air and rested her forehead on mine.
"You tend to ramble you know," I just smiled. The door swung open and we jumped away from each other.
"Huh, good to know your both still living," Conner said with a laugh. Both of our faces were bright red. "What?"
"Since when did you start wearing lipstick Cass?"Tim questioned. Cassandra brought her thumb up to her lips and wiped off the makeup. The detective glanced at his sister, me, then her again. his confused look quickly turned into an ear to ear grin.
I gave him a look daring him to say something to Conner which shut him up before he could take another breathe.
"Y/n put some on me," She grinned at me.
"Let go babe, leave the girls alone," Conner said to his boyfriend, clearly oblivious to what was going on.
"Sure," After the boys left me and Cass looked at one another.
"Favourite movie?"
"Y/f/m,"
"Perfect," Cass said. She set up her tv and laid down in my lap. My hand went straight to her hair and we slowly drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 1 - Interesting Spider Facts
Saturday, November 3rd
The train comes in with a roar, the force of the air almost making you take a step further back from the tracks. As it slows to a stop, you fix your hair, which got blown all to hell by the train’s passing.
People start coming down the stairs, making their way slowly towards the parking lot, or towards where you’re standing on the paved trail that leads back to your college campus. You eye each of them, searching for a familiar face. A very specific familiar face.
You recognize her shirt before she’s close enough for you to see her face; you should - you bought her that shirt last Christmas. You wave an arm as she comes closer, and once she spots you her steps speed up in excitement.
It’s early November, and your best friend from home is visiting you on campus for the first time ever. It’s your third year, and she’s never come before now – between her own classes, and the distance, it just always worked out better to see each other when you went back to your parents’ house each time campus closed for a break.
You’re happy to see her, of course, but you’re also beyond excited to welcome her into your little world here, to show off the places you like to go, introduce her to the friends you’ve made in your time here.
You hug each other, ignoring her little rolling suitcase on the pavement beside you.
“It’s a bit of a walk back,” you warn her, starting to head back down the trail. “And then we have to sign you in as a visitor at the security place.”
You chat as you walk, and she fills you in on what’s been happening back in your hometown. You kick at small piles of fallen leaves as you walk; autumn is well underway and the trees that line the paved trail are nearly all bare. The crunching beneath your feet is oddly satisfying, and you realize you’ve been tuning Nina out to focus on stepping on crispy looking leaves.
“Sorry, what?” you ask when you notice she’s stopped talking and is looking at you sideways, clearly annoyed.
“I was saying that Erin told me there’s a party tonight?” she repeats, not hiding her annoyance at all.
Things have been a little weird with you and Nina lately, which is part of why you were excited to have her visit. You were hoping to rekindle how you used to be – you’d been best friends since middle school, with a ton of history between the two of you. You had a lot of love for each other, but things had definitely been strained recently.
It had started back in the spring, when you’d broken up with your last boyfriend, Davis. Your mom always said when it rains, it pours by which she meant bad shit likes to happen all at once. That had been your spring – you’d broken up with Davis, things got weird with Nina, and you’d lost your part-time job at a local bookstore when it went under and had to close.
Always in threes, you noticed.
In the seven months since all of that, you’d gotten mostly back on your feet. You’d dated here and there over the summer, trying to get over Davis. It was… a process. You’d also gotten a new part-time job through school, tutoring. Right now, early in the semester, the students who signed up were doing so voluntarily so the workload was pretty light. You knew, though, that after first semester grades went out you’d be assigned students to tutor if they were on official academic probation. That just left Nina as the final problem to be solved.
And you are doing a crackerjack job of it.
“I just love that you and Erin are so tight,” you mutter.
Nina rolls her eyes at you. “I’m sorry you two have your shit,” she says flatly, sounding not sorry at all, “but I was friends with her before that went down. Anyway, she said there’s a party tonight at -.”
“I know where it’s at,” you grumble, kicking more leaves. “I was already planning on us going. Not that I want to, now that I know she’s going.”
Nina rolls her eyes even harder, throwing in a dramatic grimace. “You need to move on from that.”
You say nothing, pressing your lips tight together. Conversations with Nina tend to turn into arguments, especially when the topic of Erin and Davis comes up.
“Anyway,” you say finally, after you walk in silence for a few more minutes, “we’re going to the party. My roommates are coming too.”
“Cool,” she chirps, happy again. “I brought like three outfits, you can help me choose. Are we thinking slutty? Classy slutty? Lounge slutty?”
“I’m noticing a theme,” you deadpan, and she laughs. It feels like old times, for a second. “I mean, it’s a frat party. I think you’re safe with any of the above.”
You sign Nina in as an overnight guest at the security station on campus and then lead her to your dorm. The sun is low behind you, despite it being only around 5 pm, as you swipe your school ID card through the card reader to gain access to your building.
“Oh good,” one of your roommates says as you open your door upstairs. “We were about to order pizza.”
You’re in a triple, which means three of you girls in one room; while this is not always ideal, the three of you do get your own bathroom. That makes it worth it, in your opinion. The other suckers have to share with the whole hall.
The roommate you get along with best, Kiko, is sitting on her bed, her laptop open in front of her. Your other roommate, Bridget, is sitting at her desk, leaning forward towards her light-up mirror, eyeliner in hand.
“This is my friend from home, Nina,” you say, gesturing back as Nina comes through the door with her tiny suitcase. “This is Kiko, and Bridget. You can put your stuff by the bottom bunk, it’s mine.”
Nina rolls her suitcase over as you and Kiko begin discussing toppings.
Two hours later, you’re crumpling up an empty pizza box. Behind you, Bridget pours vodka and juice into plastic cups as Kiko fiddles with her Bluetooth speaker to get the pregame tunes started.
“What time do you want to head over?” you ask the room at large. You run a hand through your hair, silently trying to determine if it needs a shampoo before the party.
“Ten? Ten thirty?” Bridget suggests. She’s sort of running the show – the frat guys are her friends, not yours. “Jin told me nine, so I feel like that’s an appropriate level of fashionably late.”
Kiko meets your eyes from her bed and you match her face quickly. Neither of you is huge on the party scene, honestly, and sometimes you both just can’t with Bridget’s nonsense.
“Is the party on campus?” Nina asks, from where she’s laying sideways across your bottom bunk, red solo cup in hand. Her long curls cascade over the side of the bed.
“No, Seokjin has a place off-campus,” Bridget tells her. “It’s not technically a frat house, but it kind of is.”
Nina looks at you, but it’s Kiko who speaks up to explain. “It’s not an official Greek-life frat house, through the school,” she says. “We have those. But Jin rents this house off campus – he’s had the lease the last two years - and all the guys who room with him are in his frat too.”
“Hopefully one of the younger guys can snag the lease next year,” Bridget muses. “After Jin graduates? I would hate to start having to party on campus again and deal with the fucking Campo.”
“Campus police,” you translate automatically for Nina’s sake.
A little bit later, Kiko makes her way into the bathroom, where you’re pressed up close to the mirror, trying to get your eyeliner even.
“How early am I allowed to bail?” she asks you under her breath.
You laugh a little. Normally you two stick together, and if one of you wants to leave early you go together. You’re not sure you can pull an early disappearing act while Nina’s with you.
“You can bail as soon as you want to,” you tell her seriously. “But I have to stay tonight. You’re on your own.”
You lower your voice, not wanting to be heard over the music playing out in the room. “And Nina told me that Erin is going, which means Davis is going. If there was ever a night I wanted to bail… believe me… it’s tonight.”
Kiko meets your eyes in the mirror, her mouth making a tiny little frown. “Are you going to be okay?”
Erin, who – yes – has been friends with Nina a long time, is the girl Davis cheated with back in the spring. Well, before that, probably. The spring was just when you found out.
You and Davis had decided to go to the same college back when you were still together, obviously. You regret it big time, now that you have to see him all over campus.
You’re a tiny bit tempted to tell Nina to go to the fucking party without you.
“Yeah,” you sigh. “It’s one night. I’ll just try to stay in a different room than them.”
“Maybe you’ll meet someone,” she says hopefully, leaning against the doorframe behind you. You give up on your eyeliner and untwist the top of your mascara.
“I’d rather not,” you say flatly. “Frankly, everyone on this campus with a penis can go fuck themselves.”
“That is not the right attitude!” Bridget hollers from the other room.
Nina comes to stand next to Kiko. You’re feeling a little trapped, with the two of them blocking the whole door.
“How long are you going to stay on this I hate men crusade?” Nina asks.
You want to point out that she has barely heard your crusading, as it were, since she was decidedly uninterested in listening to you rant back when you’d caught Davis and Erin. You knew she was in an awkward position, being friends with both you and Erin. You understood. But it had sucked anyway, not being able to talk to your best friend as you went through that.
“Until someone proves to me that I’m wrong,” you say, capping the mascara and taking a step back from the mirror.
“She says that,” Bridget says, coming to join the little party in the doorway, “but watch her tonight. Any guy that tries to talk to her, she’ll castrate. Verbally. You can’t say prove me wrong and then refuse to let anyone try, Y/N.”
“I can and I will,” you say lightly. “Now I need more vodka, so all of you scooch.”
--
It’s about a 20 minute walk to the house, which on a frigid November night is no joke.
“I should have had more to drink,” Kiko says solemnly. “So that I wouldn’t feel the cold.”
“We’re almost there,” Bridget tells her, pointing. “They’re at the end of that block.”
The music is deafening even from the street outside the house, and you have no idea how they don’t have the police there already. The neighbors must all be deaf… or other college kids. Bridget leads the way, opening the front door. The music goes from deafening to whatever the next step up might be. You resist the urge to cover your ears, but you adjust to it as you follow Bridget through the living room. It’s packed with bodies, but she’s been partying here long enough that she knows her way around.
You’ve been to parties here a handful of times, but not since becoming Bridget’s roommate in September. The fact that she’s friends with these guys is an interesting coincidence. You’re not sure you’ve even ever met Jin, but he and Bridget are on a first-name basis, apparently.
She leads you off to the staircase on the right, and up. It’s quieter upstairs, and she opens the first door in the unlit hallway.
“Coats,” she says, and you all toss your jackets towards the already mountainous pile on top of the bed.
Downstairs again, you have to fight your way through the packed living room to the kitchen, where the liquor and mixers are lining the countertops. Even though you pregamed, you hardly feel it at all, and you’re perfectly willing when Bridget suggests you all start with a shot.
“The guys are downstairs,” she informs you, after checking her phone. “We should go say hello.”
“Why?” Kiko mutters in your ear, and you smile at her. Nina is looking around eagerly, and for a second you wish you could feel like she does – like everybody you see is a new opportunity, a fresh start, a hopeful possibility. You used to feel that way, before Davis decided you weren’t worth his time, and that you were too stupid to catch him.
After you’ve all mixed yourselves drinks, Bridget leads you back through the jungle in the living room, steering you all left towards a door you’d never know was there. She opens it, and it leads down a dark, narrow staircase.
It’s not quite as loud in the basement, which means you can talk without screaming directly into each other’s ears. There are a few beer pong tables in the middle, and some couches shoved in a U in the back.
Bridget leads you to the opposite corner behind the pong tables. You recognize a few people in the group that’s crowded together back there – you’ve seen them here at parties, and a few of them around campus.
Bridget squeals and throws her arms around the neck of one of the taller guys, somehow managing not to spill her drink.
“Hello, gorgeous,” she cries, and you fight back an eye roll. You like Bridget, really. She’s just… her.
“Hello yourself,” he tells her, and you wonder if he knows her name or if to him she’s just another cute girl who comes to his parties.
She introduces the rest of you girls, and Jin rattles off the names of the guys around him, but you aren’t listening. You don’t care. You have zero interest in talking to any of these dudes.
After a few minutes, Nina takes your hand and pulls you to play beer pong with her. You’re not amazing at it – hand-eye coordination was never your forte – but she’s great, and you hold your spot at the table for longer than you thought you would. When you finally lose, you look around the room, searching for your friends. Jin’s crew is still lording over their corner of the basement, but you don’t see Jin himself anymore. You don’t see Bridget either – suspicious – but Kiko is still there, talking to a blond guy, so you head back that way, tugging Nina behind you by her sleeve.
She tugs you back, leaning close to tell you, “I’m going up to make a new drink.”
“Do you want me to come with you?” you ask, shouting.
She shakes her head, then points questioningly at your cup. You still have half of what you mixed earlier, since you’ve been drinking beer at the pong table for the better part of an hour. You shake your head no, and point at Kiko. “I’ll wait for you with Kiko!” you call to her, and she waves as she heads towards the stairs.
When you reach Jin’s little group and Kiko, she barely turns to acknowledge you, so engrossed in her conversation with the grumpy looking blond.
Well, cool. Now you have no one to talk to until Nina gets back – and knowing Nina, as you have for an entire decade, she’ll probably get swept up in conversation upstairs and never come back for you.
“You need to use your hips more,” a voice says, very close to you, and you startle.
“Excuse me?” you say, raising an eyebrow.
The speaker is most definitely one of Jin’s crew – you recognize him from other parties, and you think you might have shared a class freshman year – but you don’t know his name. He’s tall, practically towering over you (and you’re in heels!), and his dark hair settles in pretty waves just above his eyeline. You determinedly do not notice his jawline, the intensity of his gaze, the sexy cock of his eyebrow. You definitely don’t notice the cute-ass freckle on the end of his nose. Or the one on his bottom lip. You’re not looking at his lips.
You’re not.
Damn. He looks like a god. You hate him immediately.
“When you play pong,” he explains. “You have great hips – use them to box out your opponent.”
You look at him, blown away by the audacity. “Seriously? The first thing you ever say to me in your life, and it’s about my ass?”
He frowns, and you can’t tell if it’s playful or if he means it. “I didn’t say anything about your ass,” he points out.
“Tread carefully, Taehyung,” Bridget says, appearing out of fucking nowhere, slinging an arm over your shoulders. “Y/N doesn’t like to leave survivors these days.”
You give him – Taehyung, apparently - a level stare, hoping he’ll listen and back off. Instead, he licks his lips and then fights a smile as he says, “Is this like a black widow thing? I’m pretty sure they mate first.”
Your jaw drops. “You did not just fucking say that to me,” you say, voice low and dangerous even to your own ears.
He holds up his hands in mock surrender. “I’m just giving interesting spider facts. No need to get upset.”
“I’m done with this conversation,” you say flatly, and you cut your eyes at him as you turn to go. “Enjoy your night.”
“Wait, are you actually mad?” he asks, suddenly puzzled. Besides him, Bridget laughs, used to the way you chew up and spit guys out lately. “We were just flirting!”
“You might be flirting,” you counter. “Not me. I need to go find my friend.”
“She’s upstairs with her tongue in Hoseok’s mouth,” Bridget tells you, and you very nearly spit your drink all over Taehyung, which honestly would serve him right.
“Sounds like your friend has the right idea,” Taehyung says offhandedly, and you firmly turn your back to him, absolutely over it. He wants you to box out your opponents? You’ll start right now.
Beside you, Kiko tucks a piece of hair behind her ear and smiles shyly, still talking with the same guy. You catch Bridget’s eye and raise your eyebrow. She pulls out her phone and starts tapping away. When you feel your pocket buzz, you know it’s her.
[12:42 AM] Briiiiig: IKR!!!!
[12:43 AM] Briiiiig: that’s jin’s bro yoongi and I have NEVER SEEN HIM CHAT UP A GIRL
[12:43 AM] Briiiiig: THIS IS AMAZING
You smile, and type a message to Kiko - “Get it girl!!!!!!!!!!” You know she won’t see it until later - she’s so into this conversation, she probably doesn’t remember that phones even exist. “This is getting boring,” Bridget says to the group at large. “Does anyone have a party trick to share?”
“I can lick my elbow,” one of the guys, who sports a sleeve of tattoos and a few facial piercings says. The guys all boo him.
“I have a great party trick, but the pay-off is a little delayed,” Taehyung says, very seriously. “I can predict the weather - it’s going to rain like hell tomorrow.”
“My phone knows that trick too,” you say flatly, pulling it out and swiping over to the weather app. “And it says tomorrow will be warm and sunny.”
Taehyung levels a look at you, his earlier playfulness fading. “I’ll put money on it.”
You roll your eyes, over it and him. You choose not to answer, instead eyeing your empty cup. You head upstairs with two missions in mind – one, to detangle Nina from whichever poor soul is Hoseok, and two, to mix a new drink.
Maybe not in that order. You stop in the kitchen, eyeing the different liquors and mixers and trying to decide what sounds good. You’re settling on more vodka and juice when you feel someone come up next to you. You glance over to find Taehyung looking at you, brows furrowed.
“Oh my god,” you utter, completely exasperated. “Why are you following me?”
His frown deepens. “I feel like I actually pissed you off downstairs.”
“You did,” you tell him, eyes wide with disbelief. “So go away, please!”
“No, wait,” he says, reaching out a hand as if that will settle you down. “I wanted to apologize. Sometimes when I drink, dumb shit just comes out of my mouth without my brain’s permission. I wasn’t trying to be… disrespectful, or gross. But I think I was. I’m sorry.”
You hear absolutely none of this. You feel like you have tunnel vision: the whole party shrinking down, the kitchen fading, your pulse roaring in your ears louder than the music, as you spot Davis and Erin out in the living room, laughing with Nina and some skinny guy.
Davis looks great – all tan from playing soccer all summer, probably, his hair a little longer than the last time you saw him. You’re suddenly remembering how it felt to be tucked up against him, his arm around your shoulders, his laugh reverberating against you as you held on tight. But it isn’t you glued to his side, it’s Erin, her arm around his middle as she wobbles on strappy heels. Your heart is hammering in your chest.
“Okay?” Taehyung is asking you as you come back into your body. He’s looking at you intently. You’re suddenly so nauseous that you’re not sure you can make it to a bathroom.
“Sure,” you say, even though you have no idea what he’d been talking about. “Whatever. I need some air.”
You have to pass Davis, Erin, and Nina in order to get outside, but there’s nothing you can do about that. You walk quickly, eyes on the ground, shouldering people out of the way as you head for the front door.
You’re better the instant you pull your first drag of cold November air into your lungs. You take the stone steps slowly, stopping at the bottom and dropping to sit on the final stair. You rest your elbows on your knees and press your forehead into your hands, eyes screwed shut, trying to just breathe and steady yourself. Fucking Davis and fucking Erin and fucking disloyal Nina.
Your phone buzzes in your pocket and you pull it out, starting to feel the cold night air on your bare fingers.
[1:24 AM] Nina 💕: did u just go outside?
[1:24 AM] Nina💕: girl it’s cold! come back in
[1:25 AM] You: let me know when ur done talking to that piece of garbage and I’ll consider it
[1:27 AM] Nina💕: 🙄
You don’t answer this one. You’re calmer now, the quiet and the cold air doing wonders for your nerves. You lean back against the steps, feeling the cold seep in through your jeans, your fingers starting to sting. The clouds that pressed down on you and Nina earlier in the day as you’d walked the paved trail are gone now, and you can see stars clear and bright. You make out a few constellations idly, and hunt for the moon, which is hanging barely above the treeline. It’s a sliver tonight, barely there at all.
You wish you could talk to someone - anyone - about Davis. If you were about two shots drunker and another girl had come out here, you’d probably tell the whole damn story. Kiko would listen, you’re sure, but you hate unloading on her - especially because she isn’t a big sharer herself. You don’t like that it feels one-sided when you open up. Bridget would care, in a very Bridget way, but it would undoubtedly end in advice that had to do with getting someone else’s dick, and you just aren’t there right now. And Nina… well, Nina is inside laughing it up with the asshole in question, so there goes that.
You’re starting to wish you’d brought your coat. Once you’re cold enough you rise, heading back up the way you came.
Luckily, the group you had to pass on your way out have either disbanded or relocated, because you make it through the living room without seeing anyone you recognize. You make your way back to the basement door, ready to navigate the dark stairs.
Halfway down the stairs, you hit something solid and lose your balance completely, letting out a shriek. You tumble sideways, around the obstruction, and a hand closes roughly around your elbow, pulling you back. The sudden change of direction stops you from careening further down the steps, but it also jerks your cup out of your hand, and it splashes as it bounces down the steps. You twist, off-balance, and land on your ass two stairs down from where you tripped. You’re shocked that you didn’t break a heel… or a bone. The hand is still tight on your elbow, stopping you from sliding any further.
For a minute, you just sit there in shock, trying to figure out what happened.
“Ow,” you say finally, once you’re sure you aren’t going to fall down more stairs. “What the fuck.”
“You’re welcome,” a voice says, low, and of course it’s fucking Taehyung.
“Why are you sitting on the stairs in the dark?” you hiss, completely losing your shit. “I almost died!”
“I missed a step and hurt my ankle,” he says, voice still low. “I tried to warn you I was here – I guess you didn’t hear me.”
“I guess I didn’t,” you echo. His hand is still on your elbow, holding tight, as if you might still slide down the rest of the stairs. It’s too dark on the staircase to see his face clearly. Now you feel kind of like a jerk. You didn’t know he was hurt, you just thought he picked a bad spot to hang out. “I didn’t kick you or anything, did I?”
“No,” he says. “Are you okay?”
When you tell him you are, he finally lets go of your elbow, his fingers brushing the top of your arm lightly as it falls away from his grasp. You stare at each other in silence through the dark.
“Thanks for the save,” you say, feeling a little awkward. You’ve been pretty mean to him tonight, and you are fully aware of it. “Quick reflexes.”
You get to your feet unsteadily, eyeing your spilled drink on the steps below you. “How hurt are you?” you ask. “Can you make it down?”
He’s quiet for a second, and you actually feel a twinge of concern. Gross.
“I’m not sure,” he says finally, voice laced with defeat. “Do you mind going downstairs and getting Jimin? Please?”
“Yeah,” you say quietly. “I can do that.”
You make your way down the rest of the stairs, casting a glance over your shoulder at the bottom. You can barely make out his form, halfway up, a shadow just barely moving against the dark.
You approach Bridget and Jin, who are still talking with the same group of guys. No Nina in sight.
“Hey,” you say to Jin. “I’m looking for Jimin?”
“That’s me,” a guy to your left says, looking at you quizzically.
“Taehyung asked me to get you,” you explain, turning to him. “He’s sitting on the stairs back there, trying to trip people in the dark. He says he hurt his ankle.”
“Oh shit,” Jimin says, immediately putting his cup down on a nearby table and hurrying towards the stairs. The guy that Kiko’s been talking to all night – Yoongi – follows him at a clip. This seems like a bit of an over-reaction to you, but it isn’t your problem. You did what you were asked, and now you’re off the hook.
Kiko turns to you, face flushed, clearly fighting a smile. “Hi,” she says sheepishly. “How’s your night going?”
You laugh. “Not as good as yours, apparently,” you tease. “I can’t wait to hear about it later. Has anyone seen Nina? She was upstairs before, but I lost her.”
Bridget says, “She’s probably still with Hoseok somewhere. Hey, the couches are empty, anyone want to play Kings?”
Nina shows up a little bit later, the aforementioned Hoseok nowhere to be seen. She perches on the arm of the couch near you, watching as you all finish the round.
“Want to go soon?” she asks. “It’s almost three.”
“Sure,” you say easily. “Kiko? Bridg? You feel like heading back?”
Bridget isn’t thrilled, but she’s outvoted three-to-one, so you all head upstairs to find your coats and start the walk back. You don’t see any of the guys upstairs, or your ex. Thank goodness.
Back at the dorm, the four of you vie for mirror space as you scrub your faces with makeup remover. Kiko’s done first, slipping under her comforter and letting out a series of happy noises. Bridget climbs to her top bunk, and Nina slides into the bottom bunk that belongs to you. You rummage in the mini-fridge and pass everyone a cold water bottle before turning the overhead lights off. Bridget turns an old, nostalgic cartoon movie on the tv as you slide into bed besides Nina.
You drink sips of water, sort of watching the movie through half-closed eyes. You fall asleep, feet tangled with your best friend’s as they have been thousands of times since your childhood, before the opening credits can even finish.

Short little fic that I wrote irresponsibility (chose to write this instead of the million other things I needed to): Part 8/11 + 9/11
Fake dating :}
Caitlyn: LET ME PROTECT YOU!!!, Vi: SCREW OFF, them: oops *falls in love* (a consistent theme in my writing and literally just their storyline) <3
Sad ending :(
They get to be cute tho ;>]
Starts off corny :/
Wrote in my notes app so take a wild guess how at edited it is :]
Implied homophobia and prejudice + non graphic fights and bullying :0
Modern AU :^|
They’re in high school for some intents and purposes ;{
Caitlyn walked Vi home after a party (thankfully where no altercations took place as they kept to themselves and everyone stared, as usual, but both of them were too busy looking at the other to notice), stating her parents had raised her right as a reason for it.
The rain only started as a drizzle, but began to truly pour as soon as Vi opened the door to The Last Drop.
Vander had seen the two of them arrive, only now flipping the stools onto the counter for an early close, insisting that Caitlyn stay until the rain passes.
Caitlyn thanks him ten too many times, finally formally introducing herself with a firm handshake and a grin.
Vi watches the exchange awkwardly yet with a badly hidden smile, Vander towering over Caitlyn despite her own height.
He starts to lead the two of them downstairs to the living room and Vi wants to protest.
Too much, too real, but she’s too slow, the two of them at the bottom of the stairs looking up at her expectantly.
She reluctantly joins them, heavy footsteps descending down into their living area, meeting Powder, Claggor, Mylo and Ekko all yelling about their game of the night.
Caitlyn’s nervous (which is cuter than it should be to Vi), waving at all of them as Vander nudges her to join them.
There’s only one seat left, Caitlyn and Vi silently argue until Caitlyn finally sits down, Vi deciding that planting herself on the armrest is good enough for her.
Caitlyn watches how at ease Vi is with her family, joking and jostling each other about as if they’ve been doing it since they could remember. It should be impossible for anybody to shine so bright, but Vi is far from just anybody. Strong and kind and everything anyone could ask for if they simply sat down to listen.
Ekko offers his controller to Caitlyn after a few rounds, explaining what each button is for.
It’s fun for about two minutes before Powder gets up and storms away into their shared room.
Mylo mutters something useless under his breath, Vi doesn’t have the mind to figure out what it is, too busy going after Powder.
She’s rolled up into a ball, the heels of her palms dug into her forehead.
Vi stays a safe distance away, sitting down and whispering the best reassurances she can think of into the space between them.
She can’t admit that some of the reassurances are for her as well.
Her and Caitlyn aren’t real, it’ll all be over soon and everything will be back to normal.
Powder insists that Vi needs to get rid of her as soon as possible through quieter sobs.
Eventually, she falls asleep, even after looking at Vi as if she’s ripped her apart from the inside out.
Vi’s knees pop as she gets up from her position, leaving the room as quietly as possible despite the creaking of the old floor boards and the rusting door.
Her face drops further when she realizes Caitlyn’s gone, Mylo saying she said to say goodnight to Vi for her.
Did her parents not raise her to say goodbye to her fake girlfriend face to face after her sister has a breakdown before leaving into the night, too?
)))))))))))))))))))))))))
Caitlyn’s trying to find the perfect words to mend the odd energy between her and Vi.
Vi tells her there’s no need for any of it, but something tugging on Caitlyn’s heart is telling her this is a need.
Vi is gracious at first with her, arguably guarded, telling her it’s not much of her concern or something she needs to worry about and that their situation is complicated.
But something deep in Vi wears her down as they lay side to side in Caitlyn’s bed that gets Vi to open up about how they all grew up, about all the little cuts and bruises that make her her and them them.
She gets sidetracked a few times, sharing separate stories about getting caught sneaking around or all the different kinds of scoldings they’d get from Vander through their childhood.
Caitlyn was perfectly content with listening as was Vi with sharing. The time they’ve spent together feeling as if it has been building up to this moment of vulnerability.
Caitlyn’s silent, tentative as she reaches forward for Vi’s cheek.
Caitlyn admires Vi’s openness and constant tenacity, wondering if she, personally, could ever get to that point.
Vi accepts it, keeps it close only for a bit longer until the world becomes more than them, Caitlyn and Vi, who aren’t real. A mere temporary arrangement she has no idea how she’ll live without.
At this point, or since this started, it’s as if Caitlyn needed to protect Vi more than Vi needed the protection in the first place.
She’s not ready to address what that could mean.

Rose Colored Love
Chapter 1- Flashback
Warnings: descriptions of violence, wounds, military fight, cussing, female main character.
Word Count- 1.1k
Summary: A girl is thrown into the mix with her childhood friend Sam Wilson, and his partner Bucky Barnes, leading her to an unpredictable adventure, with unpredictable consequences.
Location: Afghanistan, unknown coordinates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lights.
Bursts of light and deafening sounds pierced through the air with an fierce blast.
It shouldn't have been happening, but it wasn't unheard of to have a mission gone wrong. So, when Rose heard a voice through comms, she couldn't say she was surprised. That was quickly replaced by a small amount of panic.
"Rose! Wilson is hit." One of the other team members shouted. She could hear the groans of pain from Wilson in the background, further raising the adrenaline, as Rose left the watch tower post.
"Where are you guys at?" The girl asked, running down the tower stairs, out the door, and towards their general direction.
"East side of the compound! Directly to the left from the entrance!" The voice yelled over the shouting and gunfire.
"Cover me!" Rose yelled to the teammate that had followed her down the tower. She raced through the front entrance, almost taking a few near misses of gunfire, with her own gun in her arms and a kit on her back. She shot one of the mercenaries while passing by, and eventually made it to where Sam and the other team member were. Trying to stay calm was near impossible, with gunfire too close for comfort and Wilson, who happened to be one of her closest friends, bleeding out from a bullet wound.
Kneeling on the ground, and pulling out a few items hastily, time was of the essence.
"Sam. Stay awake!" Rose practically screamed.
His eyes fluttered, the combat medic taking note of it before the stone column next to the three soldiers emitted dust, as a bullet whizzed by.
"Fuck. Help me move him inside that door, Riley!"
Riley and Rose dragged Sam's sluggish and almost dead weight through the door of the stone building, away from the windows. As the girl tried to get the bleeding to at least slow, Riley stood close to the door, covering his other two other team members.
"Come on Sam. Come on." Rose muttered under her breath, before checking his pulse. "He's got an exit wound, GSW to the lower abdomen."
The wound was packed, and Rose looked to Riley, knowing that there was not much else she could do without getting them out of the compound.
A voice through the comms broke through. "We've got air support. Evac immediately on the east and west sides of the compound."
They all sighed in relief for a moment, before Sam groaned out again.
"Sam, listen to me. You're going to fine. Alright? You're going to be fine. I've got you. You just gotta stay strong for a few more minutes alright?"
He nodded, meeting her eyes for a moment, letting himself calm for a few seconds. He trusted her with his life, which came with knowing each other since they were kids.
The sound of the chopper being heard over the gunfire and shouting made all three of their heads snap up, knowing the next step.
"Riley, I hate to ask, but can you carry? I'll cover."
Riley nodded without hesitancy and the three friends escaped the compound. Some of the rest of the unit never make it back home. The ones that did, carried mental and physical scars that would stain them forever.
__________________
Labored breaths finally broke through her mind, as her feet hit the pine filled forest floor.
Running. Rose hated it, but it was the only thing that helped her when she felt like she couldn't escape the memories. Maybe it was because she felt that she was literally running away from those memories, the ones tinged around the outside with blood, and pain. But, she had found very quickly after finishing her deployment that the memories she would rather forget could never be outrun. No matter where her feet ended up taking her.
Still, some sort of relief was better than nothing. Rose felt like she was getting better. Less nightmares, and flashbacks. Living by herself had been difficult at first as it allowed her to only have the presence of her own mind. Then, a semblance of peace broke through the surface here and there. The girl was mostly content to live by herself. The older gentleman down the road, also a veteran like her, they checked in on each other often. Plus, the wild cat that came by every once in a while. For Rose, it was enough companionship for the moment.
The clearing came into view, which was a relief. A desire for breakfast and some coffee was in the cards for today. Then a body was spotted, off to the side of her cabin, sitting on the bench. Her legs pushed faster, knowing immediately who was sitting there. None other than the man who helped her build it. She was now close enough to see the goofy grin on his face as he hopped up off the bench and jogged to meet her half way with a laugh.
He picked her up off the ground and hugged the girl tightly. They didn't exchange words until he set her down.
"It's so good to see you Sammy!" Rose chuckled with a grin.
"Ah well you know, can't stay away for too long, or else you'll get onto me..." He studied her for a moment with a sparkle in his eyes, happy that she seemed to be doing better.
"Come on. Let's go inside, I'll make you some coffee." She said, walking towards the front door and shutting it behind him.
"Nah I'll make the coffee. You take a shower, you stink!" Sam replied.
Rose played along and acted like she was offended. "Wow, haven't seen you in a while and the one of the first things you say is that I stink? Don't you know that's rude Samuel?"
A warm joy filled the room. "Go shower!"
Rose put her hands up in defeat. "Alright, alright."
It was a quick shower, just enough to wash off some of the sweat and dirt from the run. Pulling new clothes on, Rose studied herself in the mirror for a moment, taking in her appearance. A dark heathered gray tank-top and a pair of shorts were the chosen outfit for the day. Simple, and comfortable. The comfort needed even more now that she felt the tension floating through the air. Almost in a mocking tone.
Sam stood at the sink, drinking a cup of coffee as he looked out the window.
"You know I love seeing you, but why are you here, Sam?" Rose asked, filling up her own mug with coffee.
The man near the window let out a sigh, before turning around to face her. Rose took a sip of her coffee, raising an eyebrow as she waited for him to answer.
"I need your help."

The door suddenly opened, revealing a man standing there, not just any man, but Trent Alexander Arnold.
Trent was stunned to see Amelia, Amelia Alvarez, He had heard a lot about her, not in a good way..
Trent was the best detective in his division in the whole of England. He had successfully solved 15 cases in just two months, which was a remarkable achievement. When Adam saw Trent, his face lit up. "Trent! Welcome, welcome, please come inside!" Adam said, gesturing him to enter the room.
Adam looked around at Amelia and Marcus and introduced them to Trent. "This is Amelia Álvarez, your partner on this case," Adam said, pointing to her, "and this is Marcus Siné, your tech genius." Trent greeted them with a warm smile and shook hands with both of them. He then followed Adam to the table, where they all sat down to discuss the case.
"The Spade, I'm sure we all know who he is and what he does," Adam said, as he began to brief them on the case. "He's a notorious criminal who has been causing havoc in the city for the last few months. We have reason to believe that he's planning something big, and we need to stop him before it's too late."
Trent listened intently as Adam continued to give them more details about the case. He knew that this was going to be a challenging case, but he was more than ready to take it on. As Adam was talking Trent couldn't help but notice Amelia and Marcus eyeing each other. Were they a thing? Last time Trent checked, Amelia was known for being a independent detective, no signs of partners, literally and work related. As Adam continued talking Trent just couldn’t help but stare at Amelia and Marcus. Amelia noticed Trent’s eyes and cleared her throat “Are we starting today?”
“We will be starting tomorrow, I want you guys to rest a little before we start” Adam smiled “Now, if you guys head upstairs you’ll see 3 rooms with the doors open, pick whichever one you want!” He looked around “But remember, 9:00 am here at this table tomorrow morning okay?” Everyone hummed in agreement.
Tumblr media
All Amelia could think about was Marcus, she swears she’s seen him before. She couldn't shake off this feeling that he was someone. As she was walking down the hallway lost in her thoughts, she bumped into someone.
"Watch where you're going," a manly voice said. Amelia quickly turned on her heels and faced the man, Trent. He was tall, with a muscular build.
"I'm so sorry," she said, flustered. "I wasn't paying attention." "It's alright," Trent said, a hint of a smile on his lips. "Are you okay?" Amelia nodded, still a little embarrassed. "I'm fine, thank you." Trent's eyes lingered on her for a moment longer than necessary before he turned and walked away. As Amelia continued walking, she couldn’t help but turn and look at him walk down the stairs.
Did he forget?
Someone cleared their voice right behind her, Amelia's heart pounded as she turned around and saw Marcus standing behind her. He was tall and lean, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. But there was something about him that sparked a sense of familiarity in her.
"Care to have a chat?" Marcus said, gesturing towards the empty room with the open door.
Amelia hesitated for a moment, but something about Marcus’s voice made her feel safe. She nodded and followed him into the room. As they sat down, Amelia tried to shake the feeling that she had met him before. She searched her memory for any signs of recognition, but came up empty-handed.
"So, what brings you here?" Amelia asked, trying to make polite conversation. He shrugged. "I was just passing by you know finding my room and I saw you standing here alone. I thought I'd come say hello."
Amelia couldn't help but feel a sense of joy. He wanted to talk to her! As they chatted, Amelia tried to ignore the butterflies in her stomach.
"Marcus?" she blurted out, unable to contain herself any longer. Marcus smiled softly “yeah?” Amelia explained that she had a strange feeling of familiarity about him “Have we met before? I swear I’ve seen you around..”
“Uh I don’t think so, I think I would remember seeing a girl as gorgeous as you” he grinned. Amelia smiled softly “Well, I hope we can get to know each other more while we’re both working on this mission!” Marcus’s watch beeped and he looked up at Amelia “I better go, my uh Mom is calling me” He rushed and got up “Have a good night Lia.” As he walked away from the empty room, Amelia couldn't shake the feeling that this chance encounter with Marcus was just the beginning of something much bigger.

Summary:
Triss was a sorceress, more than capable of escaping or killing Letho if push came to shove, and while Roche was exceptional among humans, he was, in the end, just that. Human. An ordinary human with extraordinary skills and training. But against Dethmold, well… Geralt had chosen Vernon Roche once before, and deep inside, he knew he would do it again.
In just a few weeks, Vernon Roche has lost nearly everything that was dear to him. He’s lost his king, lost his men, and is about to lose his country, too. The only thing driving him now is a burning desire for revenge, and he will cross mountains to get it. With Ves left behind for safety, there is only Geralt by his side on the arduous journey to Loc Muinne - and they are about to realise that a lot can change in a week when it is filled with nothing but silence and each other’s presence.
Full First Chapter (Continued under Read More)
The journey to Loc Muinne had something haunting about it, and it wasn’t just the importance of the summit that was scheduled to take place there. In fact, neither Geralt nor Roche had much interest in it at this point. Too much had been lost, too much blood spilled, staining their hands.
No, the ship was haunted – not literally, but by the emptiness of the space where the last time they’d boarded it, there had been if not laughter, then at least people filling all its corners. Now Zoltan was in Vergen, Dandelion on the way to Oxenfurt, and the corpses of the Blue Stripes burning on a pyre Geralt and Roche had erected. The Witcher could still see columns of smoke in the distance, but he wasn’t sure whether one of them came from the ashes remaining of Roche’s unit. Regardless, the stench would cling to Geralt’s clothes, skin and soul until his dying day.
It was only a handful of people now. While Geralt and Roche had been in Vergen, Ves had picked up a few scattered layabouts in order to man the ship, though they spoke little. It was eerie, to see a crew so demotivated and quiet when usually songs and laughter would be carried across the ship in tandem with the sounds of labour. But there was only the howling of the wind in the sails now, and the croaking of a few drowners on the river’s shores.
Vernon Roche had barely spoken a word since they’d set off earlier that day. Once so opinionated and vocal, he now stared at the horizon in the wake of the ship, even though Geralt knew the smoke must not be visible to his eyes anymore. Gone was the drive that had propelled him towards Vergen, towards that room carved into the rock. Gone was that drive that had guided his dagger between Henselt’s ribs.
Roche suffered, that much was plain to see – there was a tension to his expression that outmatched all the hardness he’d shown in the past. Seething rage and abysmal sorrow lay just beneath his skin, going deeper even than after Foltest’s death.
Geralt stepped up to the helm and past Ves at the steering wheel. She gave him a look in passing, and he didn’t quite know how to interpret it. Leaving her behind, Geralt stopped next to Roche. The man didn’t move even an inch.
“You alri—”
Geralt didn’t get to finish, as Roche abruptly turned from his spot and walked away, down the stairs and into the captain’s quarters. Geralt stared at the empty space where he’d lost sight of him, and Ves sighed.
“’S no good talking to him,” she said, and her voice was tinged with uncertainty and sadness. Geralt stepped up to her, and when he came to a halt, he could see her hands trembling as they clutched the wheel. There were glistening streaks down her cheeks, and her eyes were bloodshot. “Not when he’s like that.”
“Might’ve figured,” Geralt mumbled and leaned his elbows on the railing overlooking the deck.
Only a handful of their sailors were at work, one busied himself with a tangled rope, another scrubbed at the planks, but the rest huddled together playing dice or chatting quietly. The wind was harsh, and the spray blowing up onto the ship cold.
Geralt peeked over his shoulder at Ves. “Anything to be done? Or is it a case of the waiting game?”
“The waiting game, most like,” Ves said. “But I’m not sure how long you’ll be waiting for. I’ve never seen him quite like… well… that. And he raged something fierce when they found you in the solar at La Valette castle.”
“Not surprised…” Geralt thought back to what they’d seen in that tent. He’d felt his own heart drop at the sight – after all, he’d made friends with the Blue Stripes. Absent-mindedly, he rubbed the tattoo on his neck. But for Roche… he couldn’t imagine what it must’ve been like for him. To see his entire unit executed while he was away, and to feel not only responsible, but downright at fault for their deaths was…
“Don’t dwell on it,” Ves said, seemingly reading his thoughts.
“Can you tell me about them?” Geralt asked, lifting his head from where it had slumped between his shoulders. “The Stripes?”
“Met them yourself.” Ves shrugged. “Fought with them, got drunk with them, went to a brothel with them. Not much more to bond over with soldiers.” The way she talked, it sounded dismissive, but Geralt could hear the tension in her voice.
“Sorry. Shouldn’t have brought it up.”
Ves didn’t respond, and after a while, Geralt turned around, leaning his back against the railing. He crossed his arms over his chest, a gesture he’d discovered came naturally to him.
“What about you?” he asked. “You holding up?”
“What’s there to hold up, Geralt? I’ve been raped, my closest friends got murdered, my king is dead, and my commander’s damn near losing his mind over all of it,” she snapped. “If those elves hadn’t ruined me as a girl, I’d be worried the only thing I’d be holding up soon would be a bastard child.”
Geralt’s chest constricted. He wondered whether she would know it was Roche who’d killed Henselt once the news of his death spread. Right away, he knew with certainty that she would.
“Right… Sorry.” he shook his head when he realised it was the second time in a very short while he’d said the word. He pushed off the railing and started down towards the stairs before pausing, half turning back to Ves, and then deciding against whatever had been on his mind and continuing on. “Gonna get some food.”
The first day of their expected three-day journey came to an end without much of a silver lining. It was dark and grey outside, and there was a light drizzle coming down. Geralt, Ves and Roche met in the captain’s quarters to eat dinner, but even though the selection was good considering their hasty departure, none of them seemed especially pleased to be there. Roche chewed his food with broiling anger, which Geralt hadn’t previously thought possible, but his grimace definitely let him know he’d prefer to sink his teeth into a certain mage’s throat instead.
Ves attempted to start a few meagre conversations, but Geralt could barely remember them the moment they slipped away.
The food tasted like ash in his mouth, and every time he took a bite, he was reminded of the funeral pyres they’d erected for the Blue Stripes. Geralt hadn’t thought Roche would want to lose any time after they’d learned Dethmold had slipped away to Loc Muinne, but he’d insisted on returning to the Kaedweni camp. In that moment, Geralt knew he’d gotten a vital glimpse at the man by his side, and it made the whole situation even more devastating.
“I’ll sleep below deck with the crew,” Geralt announced when he’d finished his food and stood from the table. Roche and Ves looked up at him with surprise.
“You can stay here,” Roche said. “There’s enough space.”
“Need some time… alone,” Geralt muttered and briskly vacated the room. Behind him he could hear Roche’s raspy voice as he walked away.
“What’re you looking at me like that for?”
“Well if you weren’t such a sulking grouch all day—”
“Oh so now it’s my fault? He can sleep with the lads if he wants, what do I care? He’s a grown man!”
Their voices, despite the increasing volume, faded into the background as Geralt descended below deck.
The Percival had once held all of the Blue Stripes and more, and was still haunted by their presence in the hammocks that hung limply between the beams, too many to occupy. Geralt stalked through the room, ignoring the sailors as he went, and flung himself into one at the very back, turned towards the curved interior of the ship’s belly. Right about now, he would’ve been glad for amnesia.
Roche and Ves finished their meals in silence once their immediate outburst regarding Geralt’s departure had blown over. Afterwards, Roche eyed the book sitting on a pile of things they’d shoved aside to make space for plates and cutlery. The History of Loc Muinne Through the Ages of the Vrani, Elves, and Humans. It was horribly dry, and so Roche turned instead to packing his pipe while Ves pored over the map she’d moved to her bed for the meal.
He took a drag, and the smoke filled his lungs, briefly dispelling the raw emotion that had been clawing at his insides all day. As he held the smoke there, the image of his Stripes dangling inside that blasted tent flashed before his eyes again. The mud caked onto the worn soles of Pinto’s boots, the hood torn from Silas’ head to fit the rope, the striped mask Finch had always worn to cover his harelip stomped into the dirt beneath his feet.
As a choked sound forced itself up Roche’s throat, he coughed, the smoke suddenly burning his lungs. He thumped his chest with his fist – more forcefully than need be – and squeezed his eyes shut, but the images would not blur and the memories not fade.
He remembered how the Stripes would whoop whenever he joined them for training; how he’d spent long evenings studying their strengths and weaknesses to build a solid formation. Experienced again the frustration he’d sometimes felt when they had turned loud and rowdy the night after a successful campaign while he sat poring over his report. Now their laughter filled up his head, but only silence met his ears.
Where he had just been clutching the medal around his neck, now his fist slammed down onto the table, rattling the plates, bowls and bottles left from their meal. On the bed, Ves flinched hard and whipped around to stare at him wide-eyed. When she saw him bent over the table unmoving, she let out the breath she’d been holding.
Roche rubbed a hand over his face and into his hair, pulling off his chaperon and coif. With a sigh, he dropped them on the chair next to his own.
“I’m… sorry, Ves,” he pressed out.
When he looked up at her, he found he couldn’t make sense of her expression. For the longest time now, they’d been able to read each other like a book. It simply came with being commander and second-in-command. And now, just as Roche realised he didn’t know what was going on in her mind, he could tell she fared similarly. And it worried him more than he wanted to admit even to himself.
Swallowing the lump in his throat, Roche took in the room. There were three narrow cots in the back, almost touching each other. They’d shared the cabin up until now, and had done so for as long as the Percival had been the Stripes’ vessel, but now the air seemed too thick to breathe, the spaces between the cots too small.
“Do you want me to leave for the night?” Roche asked, glancing at Ves.
She frowned, staring at a spot in the air just next to his face. “You’re the commander, you’ve a right to sleep here.”
“But I’m not asking as your commander, Ves.”
Finally, their eyes met, and she blinked a few times rapidly. Her shoulders slumped and she curled in on herself, forearms coming to rest on her thighs. Her gaze flickered over Roche’s face and then disappeared as she closed her eyes.
“No,” she said softly. “I don’t mind.”
Ves rolled the map out on the table and looked over her shoulder at Roche. He’d only just gotten up, and judging from the disgruntled look on his face, he hadn’t slept much.
“I’ve sketched out a potential way up to Loc Muinne for us,” she said. “Come have a look.”
Frowning, Roche fiddled with the cuff of his shirt. “You’ll stay here.”
“What?” Ves half turned towards him, one hand resting on the map, fidgeting with a corner.
“I’m only taking Geralt with me,” Roche said and finally looked at her.
“You’re replacing me.”
It was moments like these when her age really showed, and it was eye-opening each time. Roche took a step closer and clamped a hand over the Blue Stripes badge on her sleeve.
“You’re my second-in-command. No one can replace you. Which is why I need you here. Alive,” Roche said, eyes boring into hers. “The Summit is in little over a week. You’ll remain for three, and if I’m not back by then you’ll go to Vizima.”
“You can’t just expect me to sit still and twiddle my thumbs for three weeks, Roche,” Ves said, balling her fists and leaning forward, but her vigour soon faltered. She swallowed thickly. When she continued, her voice was very quiet, and she stared at the ground between them. “I need you alive, too, you know? When— when Henselt released me into that tent, I— I thought wherever you, were they’d killed you too.”
Roche’s throat closed up, and he squeezed her arm.
“I didn’t know what to do, I— it was as if I was back in the Scoia’tael camp, after…”
Her voice petered out, and a tear fell from the tip of her nose. When a sob broke from her throat, Roche pulled her close, and she fell against his chest, digging her nails into his back.
“But you’re not there anymore. And you’ll never be there again,” Roche said, and her hair swayed with his breath. “We can’t change the past, but we can change the future, Ves. Which is why I need you present to do that if all else fails.”
Ves hiccupped and wiped at her eyes as she stepped back. “What would you have me do… in Vizima?”
“If discussions at the Summit fail, Temeria will most likely be divided up, but our people won’t surrender. There will be uprisings. Riots,” Roche said. “Make sure they have a leader.”
“What does that mean, Vernon?” Ves asked, letting out a concerned breath. “What the hell are you planning?”
“Whatever it takes,” Roche said and turned to face the map. “Now show me that path you found.”
“Geralt, can we talk?” Ves asked the Witcher, who stood at the helm of the ship, leaning against the railing and doused by a misty spray of Pontar water.
He looked at her over his shoulder, but didn’t move. Behind her, Roche strode across the deck. They’d begun the day shut away in the captain’s quarters, and once they’d finally emerged onto the deck around midday, Roche had begun barking orders at the sailors to keep them busy.
“What is it?” Geralt asked and pushed away from the railing.
Ves took a glance across the ship and then motioned towards the captain’s cabin with her head. Geralt frowned, but followed her inside.
“I need to ask you a favour,” Ves said, sitting down at the table. A bowl of green apples sat on it, and she picked one after circling her hand above it in deliberation.
“Uh-huh?”
Taking a bite of her apple, Ves let several seconds run by as she chewed. When eventually, she lowered the apple and cradled it in her lap, she slumped a little in her posture. “Can you look out for Vernon on the way to Loc Muinne? I’m worried he’ll be too impulsive in his thirst for revenge, and there’s a lot of dangerous people among the nobles gathered there. He can be too trusting sometimes. Believes in promises being kept once given.”
Geralt shrugged as he stood there in the middle of the room, crossing his arms. “Know him better than I do. You’re his right hand, making sure he doesn’t do anything too stupid is basically your job.”
“That’s why I’m asking you. I’m doing my job.”
“What?”
“I’m not going to Loc Muinne, Geralt. It’ll be just you two.”
Geralt hesitated and lowered his arms. He scanned Ves, but couldn’t detect anything unusual apart from the concerned expression on her face.
“Why? Didn’t think you’d ever leave his side. Do you need a doctor?”
Ves shook her head. “I’m not sick – or pregnant, if that’s what you’re asking. Can’t. Henselt’s just another nightmare to add to the bunch, I suppose…” Geralt knew there were things she left unsaid, though he decided not to press her. “But orders are orders, so I’m to stay behind with the ship.”
“Roche ordered you to stay?” Geralt’s frown deepened.
“Mhm. This morning. Talked about defending his interests if… if he didn’t come back, I assume. He was vague. Geralt, I think he might be planning some sort of suicide mission.” When she looked up, Ves’ eyes were wide and glistening in the low light. “Just… look out for him. Talk to him.”
“No use talking to him when he’s like this. Said it yourself,” Geralt said, raising a hand in emphasis.
“Eventually, he’ll need to, and I’d prefer if you were there. He trusts you, Geralt.”
“Not so sure about that.”
“Oh, please,” Ves said. Her voice dropped, all warmth gone from it in an instant. “I’m not in the mood for rebuttal or denial. He wouldn’t have let you escape the dungeons of La Valette castle if he’d had even a shred of doubt about your innocence. He trusted you – trusted you didn’t kill his king, because it made no sense, and trusted you wouldn’t run away after leaving the gates of the castle.”
Geralt let a bout of silence pass without interruption.
“I didn’t, back then. Trust you, that is. Vernon ordered us onto the ship with no explanation, and I didn’t question it. It’s not my place. But when he revealed his flimsy plan, I told him what I thought of it. That we couldn’t trust you, couldn’t be certain of anything. I wondered whether you’d influenced him with one of your Signs, even though I didn’t quite know how they worked at the time.” Ves looked at Geralt from bloodshot eyes cast in dark shadows. “I thought he’d lost his mind, Geralt, but he was right. He saw the big picture when I couldn’t. I think… I think he might truly be losing his mind now. Don’t let it happen, Geralt. I might be his second-in-command, but you’re his friend.”
“Don’t they say Vernon Roche has no friends?” Geralt asked, and gave a grim smile when he remembered the saying he’d picked up some time ago. “And if each of his friends came to bury him, Roche would have to do it himself.”
“Apparently, it is enough to put a knife into his coffin and he will succeed,” Ves continued. “Put a knife in his coffin for me, Geralt, will you?” Geralt huffed, considering her for a moment before turning to leave. “See if I can spare one.”

LOVESTORY - Chp 3
cafeteria
warnings: none
The other classes were pretty uneventful compared to the travesty that was Homeroom (minus the part where Thaddeus shared his classes with me and when I did my dramatic storm off he literally had to follow me. I think he was deliberately walking as slow as possible because he didn’t want to pass me or something and it was just awkward for both of us). The other teachers just explained what we would be learning about before dismissing us (and in case you’re wondering, there were smaller teacher’s desks on the velki sized desks. The human teachers used microphones to make themselves heard and human sized projectors to project things from their desks onto the velki sized whiteboards behind them. I was impressed).
Anyway, since we’d been let out early and I honestly had nothing better to do, I decided to just go to the cafeteria. The place was…hold on *sound of pages flipping in a thesaurus* gargantuan. The walls were white and the floor was tiled. The room was filled with rows and rows of multicoloured, rectangular tables with benches on either side. Completely normal if you didn’t think about the size of them or the spiral staircase and wheelchair platform attached to each one. I made my way inside cautiously, hoping the few other people in the room wouldn’t notice me.
After speed walking to the back of the room and climbing the stairs of a table near the wall, I surveyed the landscape while panting. Yet again, there was a miniature replica of the table underneath fixed to the surface. It kinda reminded me of the tiny tables they put on pizza. Weird. I made my way over to it and sat down, the novelty of the situation still not lost of me (honestly, I probably would have eaten somewhere else entirely if I’d known the school layout. Eating at this raised platform of an empty table just seemed too…out in the open, you know?). I took time to appreciate the quiet ambience of the cafeteria; the hum of the air conditioning, the distant chatter of the other students, the faint smell of food. It was nice.
I took off my backpack and put it on the bench next to me, hoping it would ward off predators before taking out the ham and cheese sandwich I’d packed and taking a bite out of it. Life was good.
The peace didn’t last though. Being a human in an oversized school, the whole ordeal of walking all the way here took about 15ish minutes and I’m pretty sure 10 of those were spent just getting here from the cafeteria entrance. There weren’t any travellators in here, after all. This meant that about a minute after I took that first bite of sandwich, a loud bell rang (scaring me half to death) and a few minutes later, students started pouring into the cafeteria, shattering the quiet and my peaceful state of mind. I found myself slouching further and further into my seat as the other tables filled. Keeping my eyes on my food, I tried to telepathically discourage (beg) people from sitting at my table while taking another bite of sandwich. The faster I finished eating, the faster I could leave. I was so on edge by this point that when someone took the table next to mine, I jumped.
My head jerked over to the neighbouring table and surprise surprise, it was Thaddeus. He gave me a small wave and I, having the social graces of…well, someone with social anxiety, just stared at him for a few seconds before slowly raising my hand and forcing it to move in a way that to some, could loosely be interpreted as an attempt to return the gesture.
Unfortunately, Thaddeus mistook it as an invitation and before I knew what was happening, he plopped his lunch tray down at my table and sat down across from me (shaking the table as he did so, I would like to add). This was not going according to plan. I had to crane my neck just to maintain eye contact with him WHILE HE WAS SITTING. This was the closest I’d ever been to a velki in my entire life (minus the Incident) and the (probably doll-sized to him) table I was sitting at was now the only thing standing between me and him. I felt absolutely minuscule.
“Hey,” he said. This was only the second time I’d heard him speak so far and it was a little intimidating, to say the least. His voice, though a completely normal voice for someone his age, was almost too loud. Almost. And the air itself seemed to resonate when he talked. Like, Mrs. Bennett had been loud too but at least she’d been farther away. Thaddeus was too close. And too loud (almost). And too big. Overwhelming was the right word. I was being overwhelmed by a guy sitting in front of me and saying hi (wait. Actually…that was pretty normal for me. Never mind). In short, I was vastly unprepared for this interaction and found myself wishing, yet again, to go home.
“Look, we may have,” a sly smile wormed its way onto his face, “gotten off on the wrong foot before.”
Was…was that a pun?
“Point is, I never properly introduced myself.” He then proceeded to extend a massive finger towards me, which I was also vastly unprepared for. It stopped inches from my face and I leaned away at the proximity. What was he doing? Showing off his black nail polish? I looked up at his face. He just stared back expectantly. One of his eyebrows was slowly starting to rise. I looked at the finger again, confused. There was something familiar about this, like I’d seen it before. It took me a few more seconds to figure out exactly where though. There was this show I’d watched that had a scene like this in it. The velki extended her finger to the human MC and the human shook it. Of course, since it was a rom-com, things didn’t exactly go as…smoothly (kinda hard for anything to go smoothly when everyone you touched became infatuated with you. And she just happened to be hired by the very CEO she had the hots for. She was cursed at birth obviously. …don’t judge me). He wanted to shake my hand.
To Thaddeus’ credit, he just watched me patiently as I used my one remaining brain cell to figure this out. I looked up at him once more to make sure that was really what he wanted and saw that his eyes were shining. Hmm. This guy was not good news. Still, I’d be danged if I ever left someone hanging. I gulped and slowly brought up my hand. After slight hesitation, I reluctantly pressed my open palm against the tip of his finger. I felt like that kid from E.T. Thaddeus slowly moved his finger up and down, just like in the show, before pulling away. “My name’s Thaddeus. Thaddeus Kayne, though I guess you already knew that. My friends would probably call me Thad if I had any friends.” He said this with no hesitation or even the slightest hint of irony.
“And you’re Syren, the new girl.”
…how did he know my name? I didn’t remember telling, well, anyone that.
He smiled at my shock. “Yeah, I heard Bennett say it while I was waiting outside.”
Ah. Not mind reading then.
He stared at me for a few seconds before saying, “…you’ve never been around a velki before, huh?”
HOW DID HE KNOW THAT? WAS IT THAT OBVIOUS?
He smiled. “Yeah, I can tell. No one’s shaken hands like that in over 50 years.” He turned away, his expression solemn. “Not since…the war.”
WAIT WHAT? The media lied to me? How else was I supposed to shake his hand? WHAT WAR? I was desperately trying to recall any mention of a human-velki war from any of my history classes when I heard too-loud laughter from above.
Thaddeus was laughing. I just watched him in confusion. Did I do something wrong?
He calmed down after several seconds. “Nah, I’m just messing with you. You should have seen your face though!”
Ah. He’s one of those.
“The handshake was fine minus the…lag. Don’t worry. What really tipped me off was the way you leaned on my shoe for a solid 5 minutes this morning. I honestly thought you were doing it on purpose or something before…well, you know.”
Welp. I wanted to die.
“It’s so strange that you’ve never been around a velki before. How’d you even manage that? Did you move in from the human city or something?”
I shook my head.
He waited for me to elaborate.
I didn’t.
Thaddeus shifted in his seat, looking somewhat confused before something seemed to dawn on him. “Wait, I’m…not making you uncomfortable, am I? I can leave if you want. I won’t get offended.”
…how was I supposed to respond to that? Yes? I mean I didn’t dislike his company but I was feeling pretty overwhelmed at the moment. Would I feel better if he left? Maybe he wanted to leave and was just waiting for me to let him go. But he came here willingly. But that could have just been him trying to be nice. Then again-.
Uh. I was taking too long. Whatever, he’d probably lose interest soon enough anyway. They always did. I shook my head.
Thaddeus nodded back before shoveling mashed potatoes into his mouth and I tried not to lose my cool. That food could probably keep me fed for an entire month. Well, maybe not a month but definitely a few days at least. I tried to push down my own unease and took another bite of my own food.
We ate in silence for a while, Thaddeus completely unaware of my panic, before he turned back to me. “So, what’s your story?”
I just stared at him. Man, this was my least favourite part about meeting new people. The horrible pause and waiting for them to understand. Thaddeus just stared at me in confusion for what seemed like, oh, give or take a couple of hours. I could feel sweat starting to break out on my forehead again. Please just understand. Please just understand. Please-
“You…can’t talk?”
Here we go again.
I shook my head.
“Shy?”
I shook my head.
“Vow of silence?”
Nope.
Another mountain of mashed potatoes disappeared and he looked away for a few seconds before turning back to me. “…social anxiety?”
You know what? Close enough. I held out my hand and rocked it back and forth in a so-so gesture.
“Kinda?”
I nodded.
Thaddeus smiled. It was always like this when people found out. I’d give him a week tops before he lost interest. Then again, he said he didn’t have any friends so maybe…nah.
Thaddeus started to say something else but was cut off by a new voice.
“YOU!”
The exclamation rang across the cafeteria and I jumped. It came from the entrance, where a lone velki boy stood, looking enraged. He was pointing at Thaddeus. He was also completely covered in blue paint. Paint that was the exact same shade of blue as the stuff on Thaddeus’ shirt. I looked up at Thaddeus, hoping for an explanation or something but Thaddeus just kept his eyes on me. I watched as the biggest (both metaphorical and literal) grin I’d ever seen in my entire life grew on his face; a grin I could only describe as Cheshire. His eyes were sparkling again. This guy was not good news.
The velki boy started running towards Thaddeus (and by extension, towards me), screaming obscenities and very…interesting death threats but Thaddeus remained where he was.
Behind him, what can only be described as chaos was unfolding. The paint the velki was doused in was apparently still wet because he kept slipping. On top of that, he didn’t really seem to care about what was in front of him and other velkis had to leap out of his way to avoid being rammed into (luckily, none of the humans were in his path. Though, the velki’s gaze did flick to the floor occasionally). All while yelling too. It would’ve almost been kind of impressive if it wasn’t so intimidating. At least it slowed him down.
I looked between Thaddeus and the charging boy urgently but Thaddeus just continued eating (though faster now) as if completely unbothered by the prospect of being beaten to death by a smurf kinnie in the near future (very near. Getting closer by the second).
Finally (finally), Thaddeus finished off his food, picked up his tray and stood in one fluid motion. “It was a pleasure meeting you, Sy. See you tomorrow?”
Then he just stood there and stared at me. WHAT WAS HE WAITING FOR? Between the commotion going on behind him, the fact that I was literally in Thaddeus’ shadow and the nickname, it took me a few precious seconds to even register that he had asked me a question. And he was waiting for an answer. Even though his life was quite literally on the line.
Wow.
I nodded frantically and he smiled.
He used his free hand to give me a mock salute before he turned and took off. Just in time, too. The blue kid skidded to a stop just as Thaddeus started sprinting away. Blue was about to run after him but as he was starting to go, he glanced down at the table and seemed so confused by my presence that he stopped entirely. I sunk lower into my seat and we shared a confused look before he remembered the man he had to kill and took off again.
…my heart.
Thaddeus burst through the door with the blue kid right on his heels.
Silence.
Then the regular cafeteria noises gradually filled the room again.
My sandwich was only half finished so I took another bite. My heart was racing. And so was my head. Why did Blue stare at me? What did Thaddeus do? Did he actually mean what he said about seeing me tomorrow?
And yet.
And yet.
I felt the ghost of a smile on my lips. Sy. A nickname. Well, it was just a shortened version of my name but still. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad here after all.
And then I made the horrible mistake of glancing at the other students, many of whom were turning their heads away. As if they had been staring at me.
I kept my head down and took another bite of my sandwich.

SPENDING WEEKEND NIGHTS AT THE TAVERN was not uncommon for you. In fact, whether you were in the mood to drink or not, one of the main reasons you frequently visited the bar was to keep Diluc company, who greatly appreciated the effort you put into making sure he didn’t feel alone while he worked. Evenings with the two of you were often spent idly chatting while he served drinks, which surely kept his spirits up throughout the longer and busier nights. Customers usually commented about how Diluc always seemed to have a grin on his face when you were around, unlike some other nights where his deadpan expression often intimidated the people of Mondstadt and subsequently intimidated the customers themselves.
That didn’t stop business from booming, of course. As long as the alcohol was good and quickly served, customers couldn’t care less about how intimidating Diluc could be. Neither would they care about how he would sneak some free drinks to your seat across the bar if you asked for it, or how he would shyly rest his hand on top of yours if the night was slow and no one was paying attention.
In the end, on weekend nights when you were sitting in your favorite seat at the bar that was conveniently never taken no matter how busy the night was (or maybe not so convenient, since Diluc always made sure to secretly reserve it when the weekend rolled around), people knew never to bother the two of you. After all, on nights when Diluc was happy, he gave spectacular service to bargoers, who decidedly took advantage of this hospitality and thus visited Angels Share more often knowing the atmosphere was better if you were there.
But of course, as soon as a certain blue haired customer walked into the establishment to take his long awaited night off of the week, Diluc couldn’t help but shake his head at you and sarcastically remark, “Well, here comes trouble...”
“What, are you not happy to see me, brother?” After placing his belongings down, Kaeya took his seat next to you and shot you a friendly grin to briefly acknowledge your presence. “I’ve been coming here after work almost every night for so long – have you finally gotten tired of me already?”
Diluc rolled his eyes and began making a Death After Noon for his brother, already knowing the specific bittersweet flavor he likes without Kaeya needing to ask. “Come to think of it, it’s about time I take off that family discount of yours, I’ve been too nice to you these past months.”
Kaeya crossed his arms as he leaned forward on the counter with a scoff. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means I need financial compensation for the headache that you induce whenever you’re in the same vicinity as me,” Diluc joked as he finished making the drink then set it in front of Kaeya, who took the glass with a pout and turned to face you.
“You hear this guy? Financial compensation... as if he needs it, being the richest jerk in all of Mondstadt to date.”
“Watch your tone, idiot,” Diluc snapped back as he turned to serve another awaiting customer.
There was no doubt that the two seemed to get along quite well as of late.  At first it was almost as if they were both trying to impress you by showing you that they could be nice to each other as per your request, but as time passed, competition turned into a slow realization of having genuine concern for each other, and the brothers have been on the road to reconciliation ever since.  Even when Diluc ended up being the one to completely sweep you off your feet and steal your heart, Kaeya never showed any opposition and even encouraged your relationship.  “Despite everything, you truly deserve her, ‘Luc,” you overheard him reassure Diluc months ago after admitting defeat in their competition.
There was no doubt that you loved Diluc more than anything.  He provided you with everything you could ever ask for, from emotional support and material things to overwhelming satisfaction in the bedroom.  But at the back of your mind, especially on slightly tipsy nights such as this one, lies a certain lingering thought about that certain blue haired brother.  Was it so bad to fantasize about being pressed between the two?  Was it so bad to imagine the feeling of being fondled and manhandled by both of them at the same time?  Was it so bad to be at least curious about being shared between the two?
You took a sip of your free drink as you stared blankly at the dents on the wooden counter.
Maybe it is bad, you thought.
After all, if Diluc mentioned that he wanted a threesome with someone else, you wouldn’t exactly be ecstatic about it.
That’s why you would never mention these fantasies to either of them, despite trusting them both with all of your secrets after being close with them for so long.  You were scared of how Diluc would react to your curiosity.  You were scared he would get the wrong impression and that your relationship would come tumbling down as a consequence of your little fantasy.
 Maybe it is bad.
Your thoughts were interrupted by Kaeya snapping his fingers in front of your face.  His head was tilted to the side as if he were trying to meet your downturned gaze.  “Hey.  Did I lose you?  What’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?”
“I was just lost in thought,” you ignored the subtle compliment and averted your eyes from the counter to look at Kaeya’s face, the shadows of the dimly lit tavern casting on him at the perfect angle to show off his features.  You had to admit he was handsome - hell, all of Mondstadt surely thought so too.  You glanced around nervously looking for Diluc to see a glimpse of his fiery hair heading up the stairs to the second floor, presumably to serve a table.  He was understaffed today, you remember him saying.
“What were we talking about again?” you asked Kaeya, a little dazed and confused, overwhelmed by the reality of the moment.  The clinking of glasses throughout the tavern, the bard playing the lyre in the corner, and the large group of rowdy men at a nearby table flooded your senses, leaving you a bit dizzy with no help at all from the alcohol.  He simply laughed, gazing down as he swirled his own drink in his glass then met your eyes once more.
“I was asking how you and Diluc have been,” his sharp stare contrasted with his soft grin as the currently sober man turned his stool to completely face you.  There was intention in his eyes, but you couldn’t exactly pinpoint what those intentions were.  “I know he doesn’t like to catch up with small talk so I don’t like to bother asking him about what’s new.”
With the heel of your boot you decided to turn your stool to face him as well.  Your knees were less than an inch away from touching his, which made you internally flustered given the fantasy you were just thinking about.  You tried your best to keep your eyes on his face, ignoring his exposed skin just under his neck.  He tilted his head back and took a sip of his drink then continued.  “Besides, I enjoy talking to you more than him anyway.”
You could see right through him in this moment.  Or at least, you thought you could.  Maybe you were overthinking it, but you swore you could see his sapphire eyes slowly trail from your eyes down your body all the way to your grazing knees then dart back up again.
Maybe it was bad.  Maybe it was the lighting.
“We’ve been doing good,” you nodded, studying his face more.  “He’s been a lot happier recently since the two of you have been getting along more.  Don’t tell him I told you that, though,” you leaned in slightly with a wink.
Kaeya let out a low chuckle at that and looked down at his glass again, taking a moment to form his next words.  With a nod, he let out a sigh of relief.  “That’s great.  You’ve been looking a lot happier too, I can tell.”
“Oh?  How exactly can you tell?  We haven’t seen each other in a while,” you crossed your legs, feeling defensive, which accidentally brushed his in the process.  You quietly apologized and he slightly lifted his hand up to excuse you.
“Oh, it’s nothing too crazy.  It’s just the glow in your face and the pep in your step when I see you on the streets while I’m out patrolling.  Seems like Diluc’s got one happy girl,” he tilted his head back for another sip, and for a moment, you saw his genial smile drop as he set his glass back down on the counter.  But as quickly as he let go of his façade , he quickly masked his intentions again with a chuckle.
He seemed a little jealous, you thought.  But before you could fully form a thought around that idea, Diluc came back with a tray in hand, empty glasses and mugs balancing on top of his palm.  He carefully placed each of them into the sink and got to work on washing then drying them.
“How have you been, Kaeya?” he said with his back turned towards you both, “You weren’t flirting with my [Y/N] while I was gone, were you?”
“How could I do such a thing?” Kaeya huffed, seemingly offended.  “Put some more faith in me, brother.”
Diluc turned around with a glass in hand, drying it with a rag and initially focusing his attention on Kaeya.  You watched as the two stared at each other across the bar for a few moments, the air suddenly getting thicker as they both emanated a strange seriousness, almost as if they were arguing telepathically.  Diluc’s intense stare burned into Kaeya’s cold expression, his arms tensing up so much that you thought he was going to break the glass in his hands.  It was a little scary to witness how quickly the mood could change in only a few minutes, and feeling a little uncomfortable, you decided to stand up and make your way to the second floor balcony for some fresh air, away from the loud atmosphere of the main room and even further away from whatever random feud the brothers sparked up tonight.
The crisp air was meditative.  It was soothing to stand on the balcony, leaning over the rail and staring into the night sky, letting your mind wander.  Your days were often bustling with work and interacting with people so it was very rare to have a moment like this to yourself.  At first, you figured it would be best to go back downstairs – after all, it had been a week since you’ve talked to Kaeya and it would be nice to catch up with your friend.  But you weren’t sure why the mood was suddenly so tense, especially since nothing had really happened and as much as you knew how Diluc was protective over you, you felt like he was overreacting.
As you took slow sips of your drink, savoring the taste and gazing upon the night life of Mondstadt below, seconds turned into minutes, then minutes turned into an hours, and soon the moon had settled into the midnight sky and the tavern was nearing its closing time.  You hadn’t realized that so much time had passed until Kaeya, who was usually the last customer to leave the tavern, whistled towards you from below as he was walking home, waving to get your attention then finally turning away and bidding farewell.
“Darling,” you heard a familiar voice behind you as you were waving back to Kaeya, “Did I do something to upset you?”
You turned to see a clearly apologetic Diluc standing in the balcony doorway, his arms crossed and hair messily thrown up into a ponytail.  “Why didn’t you come back inside?  We were waiting for you,” he quietly asked as he slowly approached you.
He placed his hands on your waist and pressed his forehead against yours while rubbing small circles into your sides with his thumbs.  You pressed a soft kiss to his lips which he gladly returned with several more gentle kisses across your face, humming slowly and patiently waiting for your response.
“You didn’t do anything wrong, Diluc.  I really just needed some fresh air.  I’ve felt a little overwhelmed all night and didn’t notice how much time passed,” you muttered.
You were telling half the truth.
You didn’t want to admit that you thought Diluc was being a little overdramatic, and you certainly didn’t want to tell him that you were overwhelmed with the thought of being touched by him and his brother at the same time.  Some things are better left unsaid.
Maybe that was bad.  Maybe white lies were okay, only for now.
He pressed one last kiss to your forehead before nodding as he processed your words.  “Let’s get you warmed up back inside, you must have been freezing out here.”
Tumblr media
“I didn’t think this is what you meant by getting warmed up,” you softly giggled in between passionate kisses as his bare, warm hands traveled up your top to eventually pull the entire damned thing off.  He tossed it off to the side mindlessly before unbuttoning his own uniform top and letting it drape next to yours over the bar stool it landed on.
“I’ve had a long night,” he trailed the kisses down to your neck, gently biting enough to only leave subtle marks and murmuring against your skin.  He lifted you up onto the counter to get better leverage over you, slowly spreading your legs apart then continuing the kisses down your collarbone.  “And you look so beautiful tonight, I can’t help myself.”
“Just make it quick, okay?” you nervously looked at the window behind him which allowed the moonlight to illuminate the already darkened bar but also allowed anyone who felt like peering in to clearly see the two of you getting touchy in the tavern.  You let him press up against you regardless, feeling his bulge grind against your clothed hips desperately.  “What if someone sees?” you whispered, teasing him with the idea of getting interrupted and caught, which you knew annoyed him to the core.
“Good,” he paused for a moment to look up at you, his hungry eyes burning into your memory.  “Let them see that you’re clearly mine.”
Your heart throbbed at this sudden possessiveness and with a naughty smirk, you decided to give up the innocent act.  With a few swift movements, the rest of your clothes were ripped off until you were half naked, the only remaining bit of modesty you had being the underwear that clinged to your skin until Diluc eventually pulled that off too, exposing you fully to him.
“So beautiful,” he sighed as he kneeled down in front of you, pulling your hips towards him then pinning your knees to the counter as he lowered his head to your aroused cunt.  “And all mine.”
You couldn’t help but let out quiet, staggered breaths as he immediately wrapped his lips around your clit, gently sucking and nibbling on the sensitive nub as his eyes remained glued to yours.  “All y-yours,” you reaffirmed, which made him hum in appreciation.
He had never considered fucking you in the tavern before, especially since he rarely had the establishment all to himself for a shift, but just this once, he was happy he was understaffed tonight.  All the frustrations he had endured this evening, from the annoying table on the main floor to bickering with Kaeya about things that didn’t seem to matter anymore led to this very moment where he hungrily licked your wet folds, burying himself into the sound of your hesitant moans and feeling himself harden by the second.
“P-Please fuck me already,” you breathlessly begged, “Please, Diluc, hurry…”
“Cum for me first,” his low voice muttered into your aching cunt, making your legs quiver, “Show me how much you really want it.”
The whine that escaped your throat was suddenly replaced with a gasp as Diluc pushed two fingers into you, immediately setting a quick pace and pressing into your sweet spot.  “Cum for me, darling,” he let go of the grip on your leg to stand up and hover over your torso, leaning closer to your face and snaking his free hand up your back.  “Be a good girl and cum on my fingers.”
“D-Diluc…!” you whimpered with a pout, which earned a hum of disapproval from him.
“Master Diluc,” he sternly reminded you, shifting his fingers into you quicker, causing your brain to malfunction as you began to tighten around him.
 “M-Master…!  I’m…!”
“Go on,” he ran his fingers through your scalp and grabbed a handful of hair, leaning down to kiss you and muffle your moans of pleasure as you finally reached your climax, gushing around his fingers and trembling at his touch.  You whimpered in his mouth, muscles slightly spasming still as you started to calm down from your high and feel his fingers slowly pull out of you.  While keeping his grip on your hair, he let go of the kiss and stuck out his tongue against his fingers, licking your fluids in front of you and smiling in satisfaction.
“Good girl,” he said as he revelled in his favorite taste.  You watched as he lapped up all the fluids, the mixture of cum and saliva glimmering on his fingers under the light of the moon through the window.
Speaking of which, you weren’t sure if it was the way you were slightly tipsy or perhaps the heat of the moment deceiving you, but through Diluc’s messy locks and shiny fiingers, you swore you saw a glimpse of a familiar shade of blue through the window.  It was unmoving, sure, but it was there nonetheless, and it wasn’t there the last time you looked through the glass.
 Maybe it was bad.
 Maybe it was Kaeya.
Horror sunk into your chest for a fleeting moment, but you blamed it on the alcohol, and the way you were thinking about Kaeya and Diluc so much within the past few hours.  Besides, all the thoughts you were having about the strange color in the window were replaced by the way Diluc unbuttoned his pants with one hand, the other still intertwined in your hair, then freed his cock and let it rest on your stomach as he slowly laid you down across the counter.  He pulled you towards him once more so your head could rest on the wood, his hair-tangled hand acting as a cushion while his elbow took its place beside you so he completely caged you in.  “Be quiet for me, okay?  We don’t want to wake all of Mondstadt this late at night…”
“I’ll be good,” you promised him, letting your hands travel down to feel his length resting on your skin.  It had some weight to it as you lifted it, and as if you two were mentally in perfect sync, he pulled his hips back to let you position the tip at your entrance.
Excitement boiled in your stomach as he slowly inched his hips forward, pushing his cock into you little by little, stretching your walls apart by the seams.  Your mouth went agape with the sheer stretch alone and fighting the urge to moan had never been more difficult.  Instead, the only sounds that filled the silent room was Diluc’s heavy breath as he closed his eyes from the way you wrapped around him so well, the gentle gasps and whimpers from you as he bottomed out and nearly hit your cervix, then the sudden rhythmic slapping of skin as he began to pound into you with no warning.
Your eyes rolled back into your head at the rush of pleasure that came with the rolling of his hips into yours.  It was so difficult to keep quiet, so hard not to at least whimper and give tiny moans here and there as he fucked you silly on that bar counter, but he couldn’t care less since he told you to be quiet and expected you to follow suit.  You knew that.  He instead opted to gently wrap his hand on your throat without applying pressure – simply as a warning.
You couldn’t control your orgasm even if you wanted to.  The way he stared into your eyes so desperately while his cock kissed your cervix repeatedly made you lose control so easily, and he took advantage of the way you tightened around him by fucking into you harder.  Faster.  Deeper.
“You’re so fucking good, darling,” his hazy eyes glanced down to your lips with the intent to lean down for a kiss.  “You’re–“
A loud knock on the door startled the two of you enough for Diluc to stop his thrusts and look up towards the source of the noise, a few red strands of hair draping over your face and tickling your cheek.  He stared intensely at the door, pushing into you again at snail speed as he waited for an indicator of who was the culprit of the noise.
Another knock sent a jolt up your spine – or maybe it was the way Diluc snapped his hips into you once then slowly pulled back to drag out the pleasure.  With a frustrated huff, he decided to tighten the pressure around your neck and pound into you at the relentless speed he set before, quietly shushing you when you initially gasped in surprise.
After one more knock, Diluc lost his patience.  It was his greatest pet peeve of interruption becoming a reality.  “We’re closed!” his voice boomed loudly so the person on the other side of the door would surely hear him, startling you at the sudden break of silence.  Clearly frustrated, he pounded into you faster, chasing his pleasure, knowing that he would need to deal with whoever was bothering the two of you this late at night and wanting to quickly reach his release before then.
“It’s me,” both of your eyes widened at the familiar voice, “I forgot my stuff at my seat, could you let me in real quick?”
Diluc turned his gaze down past your head to see that, as a matter of fact, Kaeya’s belongings were still at his seat from earlier.  His eyebrow twitched as he quickly pulled himself off of you, leaving you quietly gasping for air and clenching around nothing.
“Get under the counter,” he whispered so quietly that you just barely heard him, “Don’t move a muscle.”
Following his command, you made you way under the counter, nestling your naked body next to a cabinet of liquor as you watched Diluc button his pants and loosely put his shirt back on, buttoning it while he walked around the bar towards the door.  At that point, all you could do was listen to a set of keys jingle as he unlocked the tavern door and a gust of cold air rushed through the entrance, strong enough that you shivered behind the counter and hugged your knees to retain warmth.
“Get your things then get out,” Diluc bluntly greeted Kaeya, who chuckled in response.
“Aw, why the sudden hostility again?” you heard slow footsteps approach the bar, sending your heart racing with anxiety, “And why the disheveled appearance?  Oh, let me guess–“
“Get your things.  Then get out,” Diluc said more sternly.  You could recognize that tone from anywhere.  He was furious.
“But let me guess first!  Judging by the way the tavern is still a mess, I know you weren’t cleaning up the place just now.  And by the way your clothes are so messily put together even though they were so neat and tidy earlier, as well as the sweat on your forehead…  Oh, don’t tell me I interrupted something intimate, dear brother!”
You didn’t need to see him to know that Diluc’s jaw was tensed, unable to form a response out of pure annoyance and frustration.  And still, Kaeya pressed his buttons.
“You were fucking her real good,” he teased after waiting for a response and getting nothing from Diluc, ”I could hear it from outside the door.”
“I fucking hate you,” was all Diluc could say in response.  He didn’t actually mean it, you knew this, but he was beyond irritated.
Kaeya shuffled to grab his belongings by his seat and turned to face the door.  But as if he weren’t being petty enough, he reached into his bag for something and suddenly tossed it behind him – his house keys, which landed behind the bar right next to your feet.  Your eyes widened at this. You swore you stopped breathing even if you didn’t mean to.
“I think I might have left something behind the counter too, mind if I check?”
The silence that followed was unbearable, even if it only lasted a few seconds.  All of the sudden, your heart began to pound out of your chest, not only because of sheer fear and anxiety, but also because of the possibility that Kaeya would see you so vulnerable behind that counter, naked and hugging your knees, waiting for someone to hold you and ‘warm you up.’  Maybe he already did see you through that window.  Maybe it wasn’t just your mind playing tricks on you.
“Okay, I’m sorry, Diluc, maybe I’ve gone too far–“
“No,” Diluc interrupted him, “Go ahead.  Go get your keys.”
 What?
 “Seriously?” Kaeya scoffed in disbelief.
 What are you doing, Diluc?
 “Go on.”
 What’s happening?
“‘Luc, I know she’s there, I’m just messing with you–“
“No, Kaeya,” Diluc turned to close the tavern door and lock it, “I know you’ve been eyeing her since the very beginning, even before I came along.  I’m not even mad, I just feel sorry for you.  I feel sorry that I took away someone you wanted so badly and that you haven’t been able to move on since.”
Diluc took a few steps towards the speechless brother and lowered his voice, still maintaining the same intensity and dragging out his words.  “So why don’t you go behind the counter and get your fucking keys?  While you’re there, you might as well fuck my girlfriend with me too, since you want her attention so badly.”
The room froze in time, only for a moment.  Thoughts began to flood your mind – why would Diluc say that, especially since he was usually very protective over you?  Should you refuse to let Kaeya see you, or let it happen?  After all, it’s not like you weren’t at least a little bit curious how this situation would unfold...
While you sat in the corner naked and trembling, you held back your breath and listened to Kaeya’s footsteps slowly drag across the wooden floor, the creaking getting closer and closer until he was in your peripheral vision.  “Diluc,” he immediately turned away once he saw you sitting there, exposed and cold, then let out a disgruntled sigh.
“Come now, Kaeya,” Diluc stepped in front of him to enter the bar and suddenly grab your arm, lifting you up with no hesitation and making you gasp in embarassment.  He pinned your arms behind your back and turned to make you face Kaeya, whose eyes were glued to the opposite wall out of a little bit of respect.  “How about we make this a competition, since you seem to love competing so much?”
“Diluc,” you whimpered as you tried to struggle out of his grasp with no success, which you didn’t complain about because a part of you wanted to unravel this situation even further.  “Please…”
“Please what, darling?” he muttered into your ear from behind, “Oh, don’t tell me you’ve been pining for him too.”
“N-No, of course not,” you whined, “I just…”
 Maybe it was bad.
Maybe it was bad, but you were going to do it anyway.
You pressed yourself against his hips, gently grinding on his erection and letting out small whimpers.  Just like Diluc, you hated being interrupted and couldn’t exactly think straight. All of this petty arguing didn’t matter to you, especially since you wanted them both from the beginning either way.  In an attempt to admit your secret without explicitly saying it, you mustered up the courage to mutter, “Please, both of you, stop fighting and just…  fuck me…”
Diluc tightened his grip around you with a grin, letting out a low scoff.  “Slut.  I knew you were a slut,” your eyes widened and stomach burned in excitement at the sudden degrading nickname he called you, “I bet you’ve been thinking about something like this for a while, haven’t you?”
You sheepishly nodded as he slowly pushed you back onto the counter, this time laying you on your stomach and bending you over.  “I won’t deny that I’ve been thinking about the same thing lately,” he started to unbutton his top again as you raised an eyebrow at this new information.  He huffed with annoyance as he unbuttoned his pants and turned his head to the dumbfounded brother across the bar.  “Kaeya, either grab your keys and go or stay here and keep her mouth occupied.  I’ll let you decide – just make it quick and quit standing there.”
With your head dangling off the counter, you watched as Kaeya slowly turned around to face the two of you, studying the scene for a moment before letting out a deep sigh.  As if he finally made a decision, he put down his belongings again, took off his vest, and made his way across the counter, his hips only a foot away from your face.  Meanwhile, Diluc had already freed his cock once more, keeping one hand on your restricted arms and using the other to prod your entrance with his tip.  The excitement was overwhelming, coursing through your veins as you watched Kaeya slowly unbutton his pants as well with a bit of reluctance.
“Please hurry, Kaeya,” you softly begged, hoping to encourage him to quit holding back since it was obvious he was being overly shy, “Please, I want this so bad…”
“I’m sure you do, darling,” he adopted the pet name from Diluc, “But I like seeing you so needy for me when I’m moving slow like this.”
Letting out an impatient growl, Diluc grabbed onto your hips as he sheathed his cock with your cunt all at once, making you mewl and sigh at the feeling of being full again.  He began rolling his hips deeply just as he did before he was so rudely interrupted, never failing to maintain his quick rhythm and making your brain short circuit.
With his slender fingers, Kaeya held your chin in his hand, lifting your face up to look at his and grinning once he saw how your mind was lost as you burned with pleasure.  He stared at your flushed cheeks and panting mouth, comparing it to the usual calm and composed demeanor you always seemed to have.  He smirked, rubbing a small circle into your chin with his thumb.  “So this pretty, helpless face is what Diluc gets to see every single day?  I’m very jealous, brother.”
That comment only made Diluc pound into you harder, his weight shifting into his arm to pin you down further.  “Cry about it,” he mocked.
Ignoring the comment, Kaeya only pressed his lips together in a pout to tease you, slowly taking out his cock which made your mind boggle at the sheer size of it.  He was just as deliciously large as Diluc was, and as he began to stroke it in front of your face, secretly admiring the sight of you being fucked senseless by his brother, you couldn’t help but feel like you were melting in the presence of such dominating forces hovering over you.  Without second thought, you left your mouth agape, letting your tongue stick out in a wordless way of telling him you wanted to take him, to satiate your hungry desires that you hid for quite some time now.
“Eager, are we?” Kaeya didn’t seem to ever shut up his teasing, “I was just going to stand here and enjoy the show, but if you really want it that badly…”
One hand on your chin turned into one thumb in your mouth, which you received gratefully nonetheless.  He let you suckle sweetly on his finger, cooing at how pathetic you looked drooling all over it when he hadn’t done anything yet.  All the while Diluc let go of your folded arms and instead used both hands to firmly grip your ass and pound into you deeper, the sound of slapping skin filling up the room along with his shaky breaths now and then.
A whimper escaped your throat as you looked up at Kaeya’s face,  He didn’t need to hear you say the words to know that you were quietly begging for a taste of him by looking at him so innocently, and as such, your wish was his command.  He took a step forward to nestle the head of his cock into your mouth, his thumb still on your tongue to make you open up wider and let you salivate over the taste of his skin until he slowly began pushing himself deeper, watching your gag reflex just to find out you were taking him in quite nicely.  His heart was aching with jealousy that Diluc was so lucky to have you all to himself, but nonetheless, once he fully bottomed out inside of your throat that he had to remove his finger to fit properly, he saw this as an opportunity to enjoy himself and sighed in pleasurable relief.
Kaeya’s hands found their place on both sides of your head as he slowly fucked your throat, wanting to relish in the feeling of you wrapped so tightly around him, holding back coughs and tears.  It was a painfully delightful contrast to the way Diluc was relentlessly abusing your aching hole from the other side of the counter, letting out his pent up frustrations of the night in the form of deep thrusts and shameless pants.  Kaeya couldn’t help but leave quiet moans here and there as well while he slowly pushed himself in and out of your mouth, filling your throat up with his entire length just to pull back with a sigh then do it again.
Eventually, Kaeya became more comfortable with picking up the pace, watching as Diluc’s slammed his hips into yours and yearning for a similar feeling.  His hands traveled through your scalp, tangling through your hair messily as he leaned in to fuck into your mouth with more intent.  You hummed sweetly as Kaeya finally stopped holding back, giving into the pleasure and matching Diluc’s rough pace.  The feeling of the two of them ignoring their feud and instead taking out their frustrations on you made your insides twist and knot together knowing that after so long, your fantasies have come to light – or rather, they came to this dimly lit tavern in the middle of the night.
Diluc was the first to release himself in you, filling your drenched cunt with his seed and controlling his staggering breaths as he fucked you slowly to calm down from his high.  It made you needy to hear his low groans in their fullest volume, but you knew that that had to be saved for different circumstances.  His fingers that dug into your skin so intensely gently lifted off of you has he wiped the slight sweat off his forehead and simultaneously looked up to watch Kaeya fucking your throat.  If he hadn’t been so exhausted from work tonight, he would’ve secretly loved to invite Kaeya for another round, knowing how tightly your cunt wrapped around him the second Kaeya started touching you.
Shortly after, Kaeya finally reached his own release too, letting your nose nestle in his trimmed blue hair as he dumped his cum into your throat unceremoniously.  His chest slowly rose and fell with each deep breath he took, trying to control himself as he felt you attempt to swallow his seed while he was still inside you.  The feeling drove him crazy and craving for more, but as he averted his gaze from you to look at Diluc on the other side, a wave of regret and jealousy washed over him knowing that this was probably going to leave him off on bad terms with his brother – again.
But much to his dismay, as he slowly pulled out of you, Diluc only laughed.  He laughed wholeheartedly as he gently caressed your waist, soothing you while you gasped for air.  Kaeya stood there confused on the sudden lightheartedness in the air, tucking himself back into his pants and getting ready to leave as soon as possible, slightly ashamed for indulging in such an impulsive moment of vulnerability for you and Diluc.
“Not so fast,” Diluc spoke the first words after the long period of silence once Kaeya started to pick up his belongings, “You’re forgetting your keys.”
With the help of Diluc, you slowly lifted yourself up to lay on your back, keeping your legs spread and incoherently mewling for more.  Diluc only grinned at this, shushing you with a gentle look and caressing your thigh as he briefly saw his cum pooling on the counter.  Kaeya nervously glanced at you before entering the bar and walking towards his keys next to Diluc’s foot, grabbing them, then standing back up with an averted gaze.  The poor boy was so nervous, but you had to admit he tasted so good.
Diluc placed a reaffirming hand on Kaeya’s shoulder, making Kaeya lift his head and look into his eyes.  The two shared a moment of eye contact, communicating a shared sense of apology to each other.  Maybe it was bad at first, but regardless of how much they seemed to be at each others throats, they always seemed to make amends in the end.
“Okay, get out,” Diluc bluntly said, which followed with hurried footsteps towards the door and a quick, “Alright, alright, I’m leaving!” from Kaeya.  The exchange made you laugh, but once Kaeya was finally gone and Diluc had locked the door behind him, you were beginning to get antsy.
“So,” Diluc trailed his eyes up and down your trembling body still splayed out on the counter, “would you, by chance, ever be interested in doing that again?  Just the three of us?”
“I want to so badly,” you breathlessly admitted, replaying the past half hour in your head and letting the memory brand into your mind.  “Please, Master?”
He thought about it for a moment then grinned.
“I’ll think about it.  As long as you know you belong to me in the end, maybe another round with him wouldn’t be so bad.”

Could you do a mob Tom Holland reacting to the reader where the reader is over working herself lately and forgets to sleep, eat and stay hydrated properly and that sort of stuff. So, when they're busy stalking her they see that she left her front door open and she's literally collapsed on the floor out of exhaustion and started to sleep there? Fun fact: That might end up being me by tomorrow or after 2 days approx.
Hey lovey, thank you so much for the request! I know it's taken me a couple of days to get around to writing this so hopefully you've had a lovely rest and some downtime to reset after being so busy. I do feel slightly called out by this request if I'm honest because, same. Just remember to be nice to yourself, your body can handle a lot but it needs a little looking after too. Drink your water, have lots of yummy snacks, and most importantly have a nice long sleep!
I hope this is close to what you were after.
Stay safe and take care 💜💜

1,339 words
You struggled to keep your eyes open as you stumbled to your door. It was well past nine, you’d only meant to stay an extra hour at work but, like it had for the past three days, the time had got away from you. Every time you’d made to leave there was another issue, another customer, another delivery. Before you’d even realised it you’d worked almost double your shifted hours each day and you be lying if you said you weren’t feeling it now. Your phone buzzed in your pocket as you fought with the lock. Stepping into the hallway you gratefully dropped your bag and fished it out.
‘Why are you only getting home now’ the message read. Then a second later ‘Have you eaten yet?’
Shoulders slumping you pushed the door closed and flicked on the light. You didn’t know how to respond to him. He didn’t normally message to check up on you like that but you didn’t blame him for worrying, or resorting to spying on you. You’d barely had the energy to write back more than one word answers to him, and that was if you got five minutes alone to actually check your phone. As you re-read his words your stomach churned with hunger. You hadn’t eaten yet. After a second you realised you couldn’t remember the last time you’d had a drink of anything either. Scrubbing a hand over your face you sat heavily on the bottom step. The intention of kicking off your shoes evaporated as your legs stretched out in front of you and relief flowed through them. Resting your shoulder against the wall you stared past your phone, eyes zoning out as you tried to think of what to say to him. You just needed a second to think. Smothering a yawn your eyes fluttered closed. Just a small second and then you’d let him know you were OK...
***
Tom stared at his phone. It had been twenty minutes since he’d text you. It wasn’t like you to not respond, or to be getting home this late constantly. You’d waved him off with reassurances that you were just busy with work but something about the situation wasn’t sitting right with him. Dialling your phone it rang out and disconnected, unanswered. He knew he shouldn’t doubt you. You were too good a person to lie to him, let alone go behind his back and hide something, but the evasive way you’d been acting had him unsettled.
Standing he grabbed his suit jacket from the back of his chair and shrugged it on. The man speaking faltered and cleared his throat. Tom levelled him a look, daring him to question his actions. If he wanted to walk out of a business meeting he damn well would. Buttoning his jacket he pointedly made eye contact with the other twelve men at the table. When no-one spoke he clapped a hand on his brothers shoulder and stalked from the room.
His chauffeur drove him to your house as fast as the traffic would allow. He called you again. Twice. Three times. Growling a profanity he pulled up the tracker app he’d installed on your phone and checked the location again. It still said you were at home. A chill crept in as an errant thought slid into his mind. What if you weren’t alone? Shaking it off, he shoved the phone into his pocket and impatiently waited as the car turned into your street. He had the door open before the car had properly slowed.
Shoving the gate open he hesitated as he took in the dark windows. The only light was in the hallway. Reaching into his jacket his fingers brushed against the cool metal of his gun as unease swirled in his gut.
Trying the door his breath caught as he realised it was unlocked. Hand tightening on his weapon he gently nudged it open until he caught sight of you stretched out on the stairs. For a second his heart constricted, stomach plummeting as he took in how still you were. Then you huffed a sleepy breath and shifted to get more comfortable.
Dragging a hand through his curls he let out a long breath before laughing softly. He was an idiot. The shock of thinking you were unconscious, or worse, felt like a kick from karma for ever doubting you. Watching you so deeply asleep, still wrapped in your jacket, he knew he’d made a mistake by not checking up on you sooner.
Shutting the door quietly he flipped the lock. Kneeling down he slipped off your shoes, tucking them neatly on the rack before winding his arms around you. Lifting you easily he cradled you close as he carried you up the stairs to your bedroom. Toeing the door open he left the light off and wound his way to your side of the bed. As he lay you on top of the duvet you jolted, suddenly wide awake.
***
A startled yelp left you as a dark figure loomed over the bed. Hands flying up to ward them off you caught them hard in the gut. A whoosh of air left them along with a groan.
“Y/N, it’s me.” Tom’s voice broke through the sleep fog still clinging to you.
“Are you OK?” Pushing yourself up your hands fluttered around him, not sure where was safe to touch him. His fingers caught yours, thumbs smoothing over your knuckles.
“I should be asking you that.” The bed shifted as he settled on the edge. In the darkness you could barely see him but you could feel his gaze boring into you.
“I’m fine,” you mumbled biting back a yawn.
“You passed out in the hallway,” he admonished. “You’ve clearly not been taking care of yourself.”
Fingers going limp in his hold you dropped your head guiltily. He wasn’t wrong. You had pushed yourself too far this time.
The bedside lamp flared to life, searing your eyes for a second until they adjusted. When you found the courage to look up he was watching you with pensive stare. You knew what he must be thinking. You were a mess. A huge contrast to him in every way. Where your hair was a mess from rushing about all day, his was perfectly dishevelled. Your clothes were rumpled from being hastily thrown on this morning and his suit was crisp and sharp even after a full day of work.
“I guess I’m just going to have to take care of you.” He said it with a straight face but you flushed at the double meaning.
“You don’t have to do that, Tom. I’m sure you’ve got more important things to do tonight.”
“None more important than you.” His lips quirked when you stared dumbly at him. Shrugging out of his coat he dropped it at the end of the bed and undid his cufflinks.
“Are you hungry, baby?” Your throat dried up as you watched him roll up his sleeves. When you didn’t answer he raised an eyebrow, hands going to his hips.
“I asked you a question.”
“Yes,” you whispered.
“Good.” He crossed to your dresser and pulled out your favourite pyjamas. “Put these on, and get under the covers.” Taking the empty glass from your bedside table he disappeared for a minute before returning with it filled to the brim with water.
“I want this gone by the time I get back,” he ordered.
“Where are you going?” you asked, suddenly worried.
Cupping your face he kissed your forehead. “Relax. I’m going to make you something to eat.”
Slumping back against the cushions you smiled up at him.
“I can’t wait to see that,” you teased. He’d never personally made you anything before. Everything usually came straight from his personal chef, or a nearby restaurant.
“If you don’t get changed and drink your water you won’t get anything,” he warned.
Your stomach growled loudly in protest.
“Don’t worry, I’m going to take good care of you,” he promised.

He's a Simp | F.W.
Tumblr media
Title: He's a Simp
Requested: Yes/No
Summary: Fred is a simp when it comes to Hogwart's most popular girl: Y/N L/N
A/N: This is absolutely the first time that I wrote the whole fic through Fred's POV.
(Fred’s POV)
“Finally!” George said as he hopped off the couch, stretching a bit, “What took you forever? I’m starving.”
I rolled my eyes at him, flipping him off, “Don’t be overdramatic. I only took five minutes.”
George scoffed, “Whatever, let’s go. I’m hungry.”
The two of us then headed down to the Great Hall then we sat down next to Ginny.
“What took you two so long?” She asked as she took a bite out of her toast.
“Oh nothing.” George said, filling his cup with pumpkin juice, “Fred just wanted to make sure that he looked good for his favorite girl.”
I felt my cheeks heat, “I did not!”
“Yes, you did!”
“I did not!”
“Yes, you did!”
“I did not!”
“Can we at least eat breakfast first before you two argue?” Ron said impatiently, cutting off the argument.
“Who’s Fred’s favorite girl anyway?” Harry asked.
Hermione looked at him, “You seriously don’t know?”
Harry shook his head.
“His favorite girl is none other than Y/N L/N.” George said, teasingly nudging my shoulder.
Harry still looked confused, “Who?”
“Miss Popular!” Ron said through a mouthful of food.
“She’s the most intelligent.” Hermione said.
“The kindest, the sweetest, the prettiest, the hottest, the sexiest and the most amazing person in school.” I said, smiling dreamily.
“Aaw.” Ginny cooed, “Look at that, Freddie’s in love.”
George chuckled, “In love? He’s whipped for her. He’s basically a simp!”
“And, here she comes now.” Hermione said with a small smile.
As if on cue, Y/N came in with Angelina and Alicia.
At that moment, the world seemed to fall into slow motion, the way her eyes seemed to almost disappear behind her smile. Her laugh was a tune that came straight from heaven.
I wondered what it would be like if I made her laugh, if I was the cause of her laughter.
I wondered, as I always did, what it would be like to hold her, hug her, kiss her, love her so freely and openly to show the whole world how lucky I am to have her in my life. To call her mine.
I felt Ginny gently tap my chin, “Fred, you’re obviously gaping at her and you’re literally drooling.”
I could feel the blush rising up to my cheeks as I wiped the spit off my chin.
“Seriously Freddie.” Ginny said, smacking Ron’s hand away as he tried to reach for her toast, “Why don’t you ask her out? She’s really nice.”
George snorted, almost spewing his pumpkin juice on Harry, “Ginny, before Fred could utter a single syllable in front of Y/N he would’ve already melted just by looking at her.”
“Yeah.” Hermione said with a small giggle, “Fred would do absolutely anything Y/N would tell him.”
Harry laughed, “That’s how much he’s whipped for her.”
“Mate, he’s practically wrapped around her finger.” Ron said.
Harry leaned forward, “You better get a move on mate. Before someone else beats you to it.”
--
George and I were walking back from the library, having finished researching for one of my products when I heard someone calling me.
“Hey Fred! Wait up!”
I turned and my heart skipped a beat when I saw that Y/N was the source of the voice.
“H-hi, what’s u-up?” I asked, praying that the blush could only be mistaken for the heat.
She gave a small smile, handing me a book, “Here, you left this in the library.”
I took the book from her, “T-thanks.”
She nodded, “I’ll see you around.” Then she headed back inside the library.
George nudged my shoulder teasingly, “Aaw, somebody’s a simp.”
I flipped him off, “Who wouldn’t be? Just look at her.”
He tried to reach for the book Y/N handed me, but I swatted his hand away, holding the book close to my chest.
George scoffed, “You really are obsessed.”
--
News about the Yule Ball traveled around Hogwarts spread like wildfire. Now guys were asking their dream girls left and right.
Ron was planning on asking Hermione, Harry was too late for Ginny and George had already asked Angelina.
My only problem: How was I supposed to ask Y/N L/N?
I was walking back from the owlery when I overheard a conversation from a bunch of guys I didn’t know.
“Mate, do you already have a date for the ball?”
“No, I was actually planning on asking Y/N.”
“You’d be one lucky guy to date her.”
“She’s literally the girl of my dreams.”
“Come on, whoever gets to marry her. I would be so jealous of.”
My hands immediately clenched to fists at my side as I walked away from the group.
My thoughts were so clouded that I accidentally bumped into someone.
“Oh, sorry.” We both said at the same time.
I looked up and my eyes met the y/e/c ones of Y/N.
“Sorry.” I apologized sheepishly, “I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
She gave a reassuring smile, “It’s fine. I was just heading to the owlery.”
I nodded, “Yeah, I had just gone there.”
Y/N was already halfway up the stairs when an impulsive and possibly rash decision made me call after her, “Hey Y/N!”
She turned around, “Yeah?”
“Will you go to the ball with me?” I asked, immediately regretting my decision and started to brace myself for rejection.
But she just smiled, “I would love to.”
My eyes widened, thinking I’ve misheard her, “Come again?”
She giggled, the sound similar to angels singing, “I said that I would love to go to the ball with you.”
I grinned, “Thanks. I’ll pick you up at eight?”
She nodded, her beaming smile never seemed to leave her lips, “Sounds brilliant.”
I walked back to the common room with a spring in my step, not believing my luck that out of all the people in this school, I was Y/N’s date to the ball.
“Someone’s in a good mood today.” George said.
I grinned, “How couldn’t I be Georgie? The sun’s shining. It’s a beautiful day.”
“Come on.” Ginny said, suddenly interested in the conversation, “We know there’s something going on. So just spill it.”
I smiled, leaning back on the couch, “I asked Y/N to the ball.”
“And?” Ginny and George said in unison.
“She said yes.”
“Yes!” Both of them said, doing a little celebration dance along with the chant, “She said yes! She said yes! She said yes!”
It was honestly the best day of my life.
--
Christmas couldn’t come any faster.
Next thing I knew, I was already standing at the end of the staircase by the Great Hall.
I fiddled nervously with the end of the jacket the dress robes came with, hoping that Y/N didn’t back out last minute.
I then heard soft footsteps growing louder and louder with each passing moment.
“She’s beautiful.” I heard Angelina say next to causing me to turn around.
My jaw literally dropped when I saw her. She looked like a goddess dressed in a y/f/c gown that fell a bit past her knees with her hair tied up in a half-up half-down look. Giving a shy smile when she saw me staring at her.
“You look absolutely gorgeous.” I said, when she arrived at the bottom of the stairs.
Her cheeks were suddenly painted with a tint of rose pink, “You look quite dashing as well.”
I offered my arm to her, “Ready to party?”
She giggled, taking it, “Absolutely.”
Everyone was looking at us when we entered, I saw George give me a thumbs-up from afar.
--
We were taking a small break after dancing the night away. Having a drink in a secluded part of the hall.
“What are you doing on the arm of a Weasley, L/N?” An, obviously, drunk Adrian Pucey calls out.
Y/N’s brows furrowed as she answered, “Why? What do you care?”
Pucey gave a drunken laugh, “Shouldn’t you be on the arm of someone better? Like me?”
I was ready to go and teach the guy a lesson on manners when Y/N placed a hand on my arm, “Are you trying to make me laugh Adrian? Whoever told you that you were better than Fred Weasley is talking dragon dung. And I would rather skip the ball than not be on Fred’s arm. So, if you excuse us, we have to go.” She said, dragging me back into the Great Hall.
“I’m so sorry about that.” She apologized, “Pucey could be such a prick at times.”
I paid no attention to her apology, “Do you really mean it?”
She gave me a confused look, “Mean what?”
“What you said. That you would rather skip the ball than be someone else’s date?”
She blushed, “Yeah.”
I couldn’t believe what I heard; has she been waiting for me to ask her this whole time?
“I’ve actually fancied for such a long time.” She admitted, fiddling with a stray strand of her hair.
Have I actually died and this is already heaven?
Y/N was stunned at her sudden confession and started to ramble, “Oh Godric, I’m sorry. I just made things so awkward. It’s okay if you don’t feel the same. I mean, of course you won’t feel the same. Why would you? I could be so annoying at times and I’m not even that pretty. Besides, I’m sure there are other girls that are way in your league-“
She wouldn’t let me speak, so I did the only thing I knew to shut her up: I crashed my lips onto hers.
I rested my hands on her waist as she rested hers on my shoulder.
Once our lungs started to demand for air we pulled away.
“Will you let me talk now?” I asked.
Y/N looked up at me, cheeks painted red, “Yeah. Sure.”
“I love you too.” I confessed, “You did not make things awkward, you made it feel like I was in heaven. You are the prettiest, the hottest, the sexiest girl I have ever laid eyes on. My whole family teases me for being such a simp for you. I am so whipped that I would gladly do anything you ask me to do. So, now all those have been sorted out, will you give me the honor of being your boyfriend?”
She giggled, pressing our lips together in a brief kiss, “That’s the best thing I would ever be: Fred Weasley’s girlfriend.”
There was no denying that Fred Weasley is a simp for Y/N L/N.
