When Mason asked where you’d like to go on a long weekend, the last last place he was expecting you to say was Cornwall.
To say he was confused was an understatement and you could tell by the way he was looking at you that he wasn’t sure what to say but you held your ground. He’d asked you where and that’s what you wanted.
‘But we could literally go anywhere, like in the world’
‘I know’
‘And you want to go to Cornwall?’
‘Yes please’ you smiled sweetly but he still looked bewildered buy your choice. ‘I know it’s a little unconventional but I spent a lot of summers there growing up and it’s a special place to me. I just thought it might be nice to share that part of my life with you but if you’re happy spending thousands on a private jet to the middle of nowhere then that’s fine too’
His face immediately softened when you told him, knowing he loved it when you opened up about yourself. Even after all this time there was still so much you were learning about each other and with a quick kiss to your nose he pulled out his phone.
‘If my baby wants to go to Cornwall then that’s where we’re going. But you best believe I’m finding the best house there’ he told you, causing you to laugh as he scrolled through his phone intently.
You let him know the general area you’d be happy to go but you let him take it from there. He was insistent on it being a surprise so you let him take control of it, happy to go along white whatever he wanted as you trusted his judgement.
Considering you’d been official for over two years, the pair of you hadn’t really been away for more than a night or so just the two of you yet. Mason loved being around his family and friends every chance he got and since you spent most days just the pair of you, you were always happy to branch out with everyone else and just because you were with other people didn’t mean skipped out on alone time as Mason always made the effort to plan things for just you two.
Mason seemed insistent on it being your first solo trip this time, along with Parker and he made sure he asked you lots of questions about what you did on your holidays when you were young. Whilst you were excited about it, you were growing suspicious about everything. He told you it was just because it was well overdue that you had some time together but when his family came to see you a few days before you were due to go, you were left even more confused but their incessant teasing.
‘You sure you’ve packed everything, Mase?’ Jaz smiled cheekily but you saw him blush as he rolled his eyes. ‘Don’t want to forget anything do we’
‘No make sure you’ve double checked it all’ Debbie chimed in but the playful tone to her voice unnerved you.
‘Yeah yeah, just drop it’ he told them quietly. You could tell he was playing but he sounded a little stressy for some reason. So you didn’t bring it up again even though you wanted to be in on the joke with them.
Mason had arranged for you to take the train like you did growing up, telling you he didn’t fancy the long drive down however you’d never been in first class before and you couldn’t deny you felt a little smug as you took your seats. He let you have the window seat but used this to his advantage so he could lean on you to look outside, laughing at his excited face when he caught sight of the sea. Parker was also very well behaved as he mostly just slept in between your legs.
The car he’d hired for the few days you were here felt like it would be too big for the tiny Cornish streets but as he drove you realised you wouldn’t be staying in a town like you normally would.
You were driving down a tiny dirt track for about five minutes with no end in sight but just as you were about to make a joke about this being another long winded way of kidnapping you he mad a turn to the right and you were now in front of one of the most beautiful houses you’d ever seen. The grand sandstone building had huge windows and a beautiful view of the sea and you felt bewildered by the sight of it.
‘Mason this is…’
‘Not bad huh?’ He winked, jumping out of the car so he could run around to your side and help you out. You arms went around his neck immediately, pulling him in for a quick kiss and his sparkly eyes melted you as you pulled away.
‘Not bad? I didn’t know there were places like this here’
‘Neither did I’ he laughed, letting Parker out before grabbing your hands so he could lead you to the door and locate the key. ‘How about we have a little look round, I’ll get the bags in and then we go grab some food?’ He suggested and you agreed as he lead you through the front door.
If you thought the outside was beautiful then the inside needed and new word invented for it. A beautiful living room with a huge glass window that took up the whole wall meaning you could look out to sea and a generous kitchen with everything you could ever need. You were looking around in awe but everything kicked up a notch when he took you outside and your eyes fell on the cute sofas and fire pit just like you had in Arnham but the addition of a hot tub made you squeal in delight.
‘Mason this is amazing, thank you’ you laughed, throwing your arms around him as you squeezed each other tightly.
After one more quick look around you hauled your bags inside, unpacking your clothes before getting back into the car so you could pop to the big Tesco for food. Thankfully you managed to remain anonymous and make it there and back without any issues so once you’d unpacked the food you let him know you were going to take a quick shower and freshen up.
When you came back downstairs you found Mason sat at the window seat, back resting against the wall at he looked out to sea. He seemed completely in his own world and you almost felt bad going over to disturb him but the loving look on his face as he caught your eyes made it worthwhile. His hands reaching forward to silently ask you to sit with him so you crawled in between his legs as laid your body against his. Both of your arms around each other as he gently left little kisses along your hairline.
‘What you doing here?’ You asked softly, feeling him chuckle under you but when you looked up at him he didn’t want to meet your eyes.
‘Just watching the boats’ he told you, your eyes following his line of vision to see the cargo ships in the distance slowly making their way across the horizon before looking back up at him.
Even from this angle he was the most beautiful man you’d ever seen and you couldn’t help but reach up to place an gentle kiss on his lips. He kissed you back immediately, moving to cup your jaw so he could hold you in place but you both didn’t take anything further. Both content with lazily brushing your lips together as you held each other for comfort.
These quiet moments together were your favourite, just being with him settled your mind more than anything else and the fact you knew you could both hide out for a little while made you even happier.
When he eventually pulled away, he kept looking at you, his eyes warm and soft as they flickered over your face and you felt a small shiver run through you just from his loving look.
‘I’ve been thinking about tonight’ he told you quietly, thumb stroking your cheek as you nodded up to him. ‘How about I make us some dinner and then we take a drive into town? We can take a walk and get some ice cream maybe and I’m pretty sure there’s an arcade on the pier and I don’t know about you but I’m feeling like a winner’
‘Sounds perfect’ you laughed, pecking his lips one more time before settling back into his body. You could feel him pulling you further into him as he nuzzled into your hair before looking back out to sea.
You made dinner together just like you used to, before getting changed to go out, deciding to leave parker at the house as he was tired from all the traveling and had spent most of his afternoon laid up in his new doggy bed. It was still sunny but the temperature had dropped so you made sure to wrap up before he drove you into the town so you could have a look around.
‘What ice cream do you want baby?’ He asked, pulling you into the quiet shop, watching his face light up as his eyes scanned all the flavours.
‘You pick first, I’m still looking’ you told him, noticing how he picked the most expensive cone with extra chocolate around the side and a flake and once the girl behind the counter handed it over to him it was almost the size of his head. ‘Really, Mase?’ You laughed as he smiled at you cheekily.
‘What? I’m never allowed this normally, thought I’d go all out’
‘Go and sit down’ you laughed, pointing to the stool by the window so he would be out of the way for you to pick yours. You decided to go for the same fancy cone as him but you only got one scoop as you were still full up from dinner and once you’d paid you met him by the door.
‘Hold this and I’ll pay’ he told you, trying to pass his half demolished ice cream to you but you shook your head before trying to lace your fingers through his to lead him outside.
‘I’ve paid, let’s go’
‘Why did you do that?’
‘Cause you paid for this whole thing, I think it’s only fair i buy you an ice cream at least’
‘Well if I’d of known you were paying I would of got a smaller one’ he laughed, squeezing your hand as you made you way down the high street and down to the beach. There were still a few people around but for the most part it was quiet meaning you could take a slow walk along the beach without being disturbed.
‘It’s pretty here’
‘See I have good taste’ you winked. ‘Are you glad you listened to me?’
‘I always listen to you’ he laughed, pulling you in front of him so he could hold you as you walked before stopping to look out onto the horizon so you could watch the sun slip behind the sea.
You felt a peace for the first time in a little while, his cheek resting on top of your head and arms around your waist making you feel warm and safe and judging by the way you could feel him relaxing into you, you could tell Mason felt the same.
Not too long after he turned you both so you could face each other, brushing some loose hair behind your ears before cupping your jaw so he could place feather light kisses over your nose and across your cheeks.
‘I love you so much’ he whispered,
‘I love you too’ you told him. Breath caught in your throat at how romantic this all seemed and the way he was looking down at you made your heart race in your chest.
He looked like he was going to say something else but he just gave his head a small shake before kissing your forehead.
‘You still fancy going on the pier?’
‘Yeah, okay. I quite like the idea of beating you at something’ you smiled, pulling him along as he laughed behind you. He teased you the whole way along the pier about how he was gonna make you eat your words and as soon as you walked in he was straight over to the basketball hoop.
‘But I’m no good at this’ you laughed ‘I like the ones where you put the 2p’s in until they all fall out’ you explained with a huff but he wasn’t having it, handing you a ball and setting your hoop up so you could play against each other. You were even worse than you thought you’d be and the excited shrills coming from Mason were really putting you off.
‘New high score baby’ he teased, pinching your side and you were starting to realise you were in for a long evening.
You knew Mason was competitive but the fact that it extended to meaningless games like this made you giggle until you we’re starting to get annoyed about all the games he was winning.
‘Fancy a game of air hockey?’ He asked, walking over to the now free table and even though you didn’t feel like being humiliated again you followed him over and took up your position. You’d never played before but it seemed simple enough and as soon as the puck was flying in your direction you were quick to hit it back straight into Masons goal.
You both stood in shock, eyes wide as you looked at each other and whilst you wanted to laugh you could see his brows were furrowed a little.
‘Beginners luck’ he huffed, retrieving the puck and placing it back onto the table before getting back into position. You had a pretty good rhythm going for a few minutes until once again you blasted your puck into his goal. ‘What the fuck’ he moaned, louder than he intended and you cheekily shushed him as there were kids around.
‘Mason, language’
‘Yeah, whatever. Are you ready?’ He asked, chucking the puck down again and not even waiting for you but you were too quick and managed to hit the puck right back to him.
His face was a picture, concentration and anger all over his features but you were on a high. Happy you were finally good at something and you knew you shouldn’t of but you felt the need to rub it in a little.
‘Come on Mase, I thought you were good at attacking and defending? You’ve been shocking at both so far’
‘I don’t normally play with my arms, smart arse’ he growled, hitting the puck as hard as he could but it just ended up bouncing off both sides and into his own goal. ‘This is bullshit, you must be cheating’ he fumed, slamming the puck back down and for a second you thought about easing up on him a little bit but he’d rubbed your face in it all night and you figured he could use a taste of his own medicine. You ended up winning 5-0 in the end and he was more furious than you’d ever seen him.
‘Oh come on Mase, you lost one game it’s not the end of the world’ you tried reassure him, walking round to place your hand on his arm but he shrugged you off, mumbling something under his breath as he walked the other way. ‘Mase?’ you pouted, following him outside but he didn’t stop for you.
‘Surprised you can hear me over that massive ego’ he murmured, making his way over to the railing so he could look out to sea and even though you knew he was just being silly and a little but hurt you couldn’t deny his words stung a little bit. You didn’t think you’d been overly obnoxious, not half as bad as he’d been but by the way he was reacting to you, you wondered if you’d gone too far.
‘Mase? Please don’t tell me you’re this upset about a game of air hockey’ you asked, brushing up besides him as he let out a deep breath he’d been holding.
‘I don’t like loosing’
‘I know but it doesn’t mean anything’ you reasoned, bumping your shoulder into his before forcing you way into his arms so you could hold his face in between yours hands. He was still pouting a little bit so you tried to kiss it away, feeling a sense of accomplishment come over you as he smiled gently. ‘Why don’t we have another game?’
‘Nah, let just play something else’ he told you, shaking his head and looking around to see what different things they had outside before his eyes fell on a game where you had to throw balls at some clowns to knock them down and you stood and cheered him on as he threw the balls as hard as he could.
‘What shall we do with all our tickets?’ You asked holding them all in your arms but you knew it wouldn’t be enough for anything worth having as you’d taken a look at the prizes and they were worth way more than you had. ‘Shall we give them away?’
‘Yeah, let me find someone’ he smiled, eyes scanning the arcade until he saw a little boy in an England shirt. You watched him carefully approach, tapping him on the shoulder and your heart melted as the little boy realised who it was. A look of shock and disbelief taking over his face as Mason knelt down to his level. ‘Hello mate, I’ve got a load of tickets but I don’t have time to change them up. Would you like them?’ He asked and the little boy nodded his head before throwing him self at Mason for a cuddle.
‘Thank you’ he murmured adorably, pulling back so Mason could hand the tickets over and you could tell the little boy was overwhelmed as his bottom lip started to tremble.
‘You alright, mate?’ Mason asked softly before the boy was hugging Mason again. You didn’t often get to see Mason interacting with fans like this but Every time it made your heart soar. He was so loving and soft and you just wanted to kiss him all over his perfect face.
It didn’t take long for the boys dad to come over, wondering why a random man was hugging his kid but as soon he clocked it was Mason they were all laughing. You offered to take a picture of the three of them as a parting gift and as you strolled towards the exit you felt him bump your arm and nod over to the air hockey table.
‘One more game? Winner takes all?’ He laughed, trying to make it look as though he was kidding but you could see the seriousness in his eyes so you walked him over and you yourselves set up.
He was really really trying to beat you, practically leaning halfway across the table as his tongue fell from his mouth in concentration. You were giving as good as you got though, knowing he wanted to win but you weren’t about to let him off easy and after a few intense minutes you smashed the puck directly into his goal.
‘Yesssss!’ You cried, jumping in the air to the side of the table so you could impersonate one of his goal celebrations by pretending to throw a fire ball at him but he just stood looking at you with a stoney expression whilst he bit the inside of his cheek. ‘Oh come on Mase, join in’
‘No’
‘So you’ll do it with Chilly but not with me?’
‘Get back over there or I’ll start without you’ he grumbled as you circled him, laughing your head off at how you kept winning but you were soon back in your place and ready to go again. He slammed the puck down once more and you could see the determination in his eyes but you weren’t quite ready for the force he hit the puck with or the pain that seared through your hand when it hit you at an awkward angle.
You jumped back, yelping in pain as you cradled your aching hand before looking towards Mason. He was staring back at you with wide eyes and a guilty expression.
‘Shit, y/n. I’m so fucking sorry, are you okay?’ He panicked, rushing over to take a look but you held your hand to your chest. ‘Baby? Please I’m so sorry you know I didn’t do it on purpose. Please let me see’
‘It’s fine’ you sighed, letting him take your hand so he could inspect it but there wasn’t much to see in the dark. That didn’t stop his from bringing your hand to his lips so he could pepper it with small kisses and even though you were a little mad with him you couldn’t help but smile.
‘I think I need to accept that air hockey isn’t my game’ he told you with a sigh before cupping your jaw so he could press a delicate kiss to your lips. ‘Im so sorry baby, I feel awful’ he whispered.
‘You should’ you laughed, pulling away so you could grab his hand and link your fingers together. ‘I think we should end the game there’
‘I think so too’ he said shyly, and upset frown on his face as he was clearly annoyed with himself for lashing out like he had but he let you pull him outside to the exit, walking passed the claw machines and you were almost at the end when he pulled you over to stand in front of one.
‘Look baby, they’ve got the little seagulls with chips in their mouths’ he told you excitedly, your mind automatically going back a few weeks to when you’d both gone to visit Portsmouth. Taking Summer and Mila for a walk on the beach in the afternoon and it was all going well until Mason was attacked by the same birds for his chips. The memory of him squealing and shouting in fear was still fresh in your mind and you couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of it. ‘Let me win you one to say sorry’
‘It’s fine, Mase’ you told him ‘no one ever wins these things’ you tried to explain but he just shook his head and grabbed a load of coins from his pocket.
‘Well I’m not stopping till I get one. I don’t care how much it costs’ he mumbled, already pressing the button to make the claw go down to grab one. It was halfway up before it fell out and you let him have a few more goes until he offered you a try. It was all in vein though, you not having any more luck than mason and all you seemed to be doing was flipping them over at this point so you told him you were done but he clearly wasn’t.
You’d been on the pier for a while now, your legs and body tired not just from tonight but from the whole day so you went and took a seat on a bench near by, facing away from Mason and out to sea. You couldn’t exactly see it cause it was so dark but you could hear the waves and the sound made you feel at peace.
It was only a few minutes later when you felt someone brush up besides you and you knew it was Mason instantly. He stopped just in front of you with his hands behind his back before kneeling so you were at the same hight.
‘Y/n’ he smiled, trying to be serious but you could see the smile gently playing on his lips.
‘Mason’ you replied, leaning forward just a touch, fluorescent lights of the games dancing over his face and making him look even more beautiful to the point you wanted to close the gap and kiss him but you knew he had more to say.
‘Would you please accept this seagull as a token of my apology’ he told you seriously, revealing the toy from behind his back with a smile, causing you to laugh as you reached for it.
‘I accept your apology Mason’ you told him softly, reaching over to cup his jaw and leave a soft kiss on his lips. He hummed appreciatively into your mouth instantly, kissing you back a little bit harder but you pulled back after a few moments. Remembering where you were and who you were with. ‘Shall we head back?’
‘Sounds perfect’
The next day Mason had reserved for a beach day and lucky enough for the pair of you the weather seemed to be playing along. You woke up to bright sunshine but an empty bed so after you’d pulled on one of Masons shirts you plodded downstairs to see if you could find him.
He was stood in the kitchen, packing what appeared to be a picnic basket in nothing but a pair of shorts and his face softened as soon as his eyes met yours.
‘Good morning sleeping beauty’ he mumbled, pressing a kiss to your forehead before another gentle one to your lips.
‘What time is it?’ You asked, wrapping your arms around him as he carried on packing the basket, feeling his body vibrate as he chuckled underneath you.
‘10:15’
‘That’s not that late’
‘It is, you’ve only got an hour and 45 minutes left of the morning. I’ve done loads while you’ve been asleep’
‘Oh yeah? Like what?’
‘Well I went for a run with Parker, came back and had a shower and went out again to a little bakery I saw in the village. Got us some lunch for the beach in there and a little bit of breakfast’ he smiled, nodding towards plate of pastries that were sat just to the right of him and you felt your tummy rumble immediately.
‘Thank you Masey’ you murmured softly before kissing his back and taking a step over to pick up your favourite.
‘You’re welcome. When you’re ready we’ll get everything together and head down yeah?’ He smiled, gesturing down to the sandy beach that you could see from your giant window in your living room and you nodded quickly before jumping up to run back upstairs and get changed.
The walk down to the beach didn’t take long but Mason seemed insistent on bringing half your luggage with him but by the time he’d set everything up you were happy he had. The little chair he’d carried down was comfier than you thought it would be and once you were ready to get settled you striped yourself down into your bikini you watched Masons jaw drop.
‘Holy mother of god’ he he said lowly, his eyes eating you up as he took in your figure. You didn’t think it was anything too exciting, a simple black bikini top and matching high waisted bottoms but you knew it looked good and the fact that the bottom was more of a thong than anything else was a bit risky but it was worth it to see the look in his eye. ‘If there wasn’t other people around I would be on you in a second you look unreal’
‘You like?’ You teased, giving him a quick twirl before sitting down, and the way he parted your legs so he could slip his body in between let you know he did. Even after all this time together he still looked at you like it was the first time and you hummed into his mouth as he pressed a heavy kiss on your lips.
‘I love. You’re such a tease I swear’ he whispered, his fingers dancing along the waistband of your bottoms before trailing them down the tops of your thighs. ‘You wait till later I’m gonna make you feel so good’ his breathed, his lips just touching yours and after a quick kiss he was jumping up so he could whip his top off.
If the way you felt about him in this moment was the same way he felt about you then you got why he was looking at you the way he was. You saw Masons body often but you never got tired of the sight. His soft hips were a contrast to the hardness of his abs but he was perfect to you in every single way and you had to restrain yourself from reaching for him so you could kiss all over his tummy.
You both quickly got to work sun creaming each other up, Mason paying extra attention to your bum, telling you the only burn you should ever feel there should be from his hand print but the sexy and assertive Mason was soon out the window as he popped on his mask and snorkel so he could go for a swim.
‘You look ridiculous’ you laughed, settling down into your chair as he pouted at you playfully.
‘Yeah well I’ll remember you said that when I see some cool fish and you wanna have a look’ he pouted, sounding like he had a cold as his nose was sucked into the mask and you sat watching him confused as he started rummaging through a bag he’d bought down with him. You couldn’t contain your laughter as he produced a pair of flippers and you wondered where the hell he’d been hiding them.
‘You can’t be serious’ you giggled, almost crying with laughter as he struggled to get them on but he was soon up, taking massive floppy steps towards the sea and flipping you off with a chuckle as you laughed to the point of tears.
‘Come on Parker, daddy will take you for a swim’
‘You make sure you look after him’ you shouted but you knew Parker was in safe hands with Mason.
Once he was at the shore and in deep enough, he flopped in, taking a few strokes out so he was a bit deeper before floating face down. It was fun watching him for a little bit, just floating as he looked around and tried to make sure Parker didn’t swim too far away but you could feel your eyes getting heavy and since he was occupied you adjusted your hat to make sure the sun wasn’t beating down on your face too hard before relaxing so you could take a little nap. You could just feel yourself drifting off when splashes of cold water woke you up with a fright.
There stood Mason, fresh from the sea and shaking his hair at you as Parker did the same, and you screeched as you flew up from the chair.
‘Mason what the fuck’ you moaned, rushing towards him but he somehow managed to grab you and manoeuvre you so you were flung over his shoulder, rushing down back towards the sea and you were sure the sounds of your laughter could be heard from miles away. ‘Please don’t throw me in’ you managed to get out as he started wading in but when the water came to just passed his knees he moved you so your legs were around his waist as he he held you by your bum. His eyes were sparking with joy and even though he seemed to have all the power over you and could literally drop you in the freezing water at any second, you couldn’t help but lean over and kiss him.
‘I wouldn’t do that to you baby, I’ve got you I promise’ he whispered against your lips softly and you smiled at how adorable he was being with you now.
The water wasn’t as cold as you thought it was going to be but it was still a shock. He walked in slowly though and before you knew it the water was up to your chest, legs still around him as he held you to his body as Parker watched you closely from the shore, not wanting to get wet again by the looks of things and you didn’t blame him.
‘Are you having a nice time?’ He asked quietly, kissing your nose gently before his lips moved to your cheeks and then across your jaw.
‘Yeah, I’m glad we can have some time just the two of us’ you smiled, relaxing at the feel of his lips. ‘Well three of us I suppose’ you laughed, your thumbs brushing along the imprint the mask had left on his cheeks before kissing along the marks and watching his cheeks flush. He was so adorable and you loved the way he still reacted to your touch but it was the reaction of having you wrapped around him that had you feeling something pressing against you that made you eye him curiously.
‘I’ve literally got your bare bum in my hands, what do you expect?’ he laughed cheekily causing you to hide your face in his neck as his chest rumbled underneath you.
You were both quiet for a moment, just holding each other as you relished in the peace. Watching the sparse clouds roll through the sky and the sound of the waves relaxed you more that anything and you knew then and there that there was no where else you’d rather be, or would ever want to be again, than in the arms of the man who you loved more than you ever thought you could.
You pulled away so you could look at him, a soft look in his warm eyes and your heart thudded at the way he was staring at you. You could feel the love pouring from him and it only took you a second to lean forward so you could press you lips to his.
It was a slow lazy kiss, one that warmed your belly and made your skin tingle more than the sun ever could but you were both smiling too much to get any further into it. In the end just resting your foreheads against each others so he could rub his nose against yours every so often.
Mason carefully walked you out of the sea and placed you on the sand at the shore right by Parker so you could walk back to your stuff hand in hand but rather than sit in your chair you laid down with him as Parker got comfy by your legs. Mason on his front with his head on your shoulder and arm slung over your waist as you ran your fingers through his hair softly until you feel his breathing change and you knew he was asleep.
He wasn’t out for long, waking up to complain he was hungry so he dished out all the food he’d bought that morning and you sat in between his legs with your back to his chest so you could still be close.
It was early evening when you headed back up to the house. Mason had let you use his mask and snorkel but you passed up the opportunity of wearing his flippers and the only thing you could see was seaweed as he helped you move around. You didn’t get the appeal though so you went back to sit so you could read your book and he could take another nap before taking Parker on a big walk. Your plan for the evening was to cook again before taking some drinks and snacks out to the fire pit in the garden and make use of the hot tub but you felt sandy and gross as soon as you stepped inside and Mason could tell instantly.
‘You fancy a bath? That one’s massive upstairs and I really wanna try it’ he smiled, kissing your nose aster you nodded. ‘I’ll go run it for us yeah?’
‘Okay, I’ll just pop this stuff in the fridge and I’ll be up’ you smiled and with one final kiss he vanished.
The sea air must of got to Parker and you watched him trot right over to his bed before getting settled and you dished him out some food and water before scratching behind his ears in the way he loved. He was out soon after and with a quick kiss to his head you made your way to Mason.
You didn’t think you’d been that long but by the time you made it to the bathroom he was already in the bath, head back against the edge as he laid there peacefully and no matter how quiet you’d wanted to be, he felt you move besides him and his eyes were on yours.
‘Come on slow coach, I’ve got it the perfect temperature’ he laughed, watching you undress with hungry eyes before helping you in to sit in front of him. Your back to his chest as you leant your head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around your middle.
‘This bath is massive’ you laughed, the water just below your neck. ‘It’s like double the size of ours’
‘Is this you telling me you want one like this at home’
‘I wouldn’t say no’
‘I mean if it means we get to take more baths together then I’m all for it’ he told you cheekily, his hands trailing down your body so he could grip your thighs with his fingers, massaging the inner parts of them.
You let out a soft sigh, relaxing back into him even further as you enjoyed the way his fingers were dancing over your skin but you knew this was only ending one way. Your suspicions were confirmed when his hand hooked under your right thigh so he could lift your leg and place it over the edge of the bath so he could access you better. His left hand reaching for your chest and you bit your lip at the contact.
‘Just relax for me, baby. Let me take care of you’ he whispered into your ear and all you could do was nod whilst you tried to do what he said.
You gasped when you finally felt his fingers trace along your folds. You knew he was being extra gentle with you which you loved and given with how relaxed you were, you were ready to let him do what he wanted so when he finally brushed over where you needed him most you couldn’t help but moan loudly.
‘That’s it’s baby. You sound so pretty like that’ he murmured, gently rubbing you in slow circles as he palmed your boob with his free hand. ‘That feel good?’
‘Mmhmm’ you managed to get out, cursing under your breath straight after as he way playing with you just how you liked it and even though he’d only just started you could feel the start of your high bubbling away.
‘Look at me’ he whispered and you managed to turn your head slightly to look into his eyes. ‘Such a good girl for me, aren’t you?’ He asked, lowering his fingers down to your entrance and you gasped as he teased a finger in.
‘Mase’ you whimpered, holding onto the edge of the bath for some stability as he added another. Slowly pumping them in and out of you as you clenched around him and you could of sworn you were seeing stars. He knew you like the back of his hand, knew exactly where to touch you and how to drive you wild and if he really wanted to he could make you reach your high in no time at all but you knew he was dragging everything out as he delicately pulsed his fingers inside of you.
‘You’re so beautiful baby’ He spoke against your neck before gently sucking on the skin at the base of it. You were so turned on by his words and his fingers working away inside of you that you couldn’t help but grind down onto him a little bit but the hand on your chest soon moved down to your hip so he could hold you in place. ‘Nuh uh. This is about you’
‘But Mase-‘
‘I know, but you need to cum first yeah?’ He told you softly, his thumb now back on your clit to help you and the moan that left your lips would of embarrassed you if you hadn’t been too caught up on how he was making you feel. ‘I can feel how close you are, gorgeous. Come on, let it out for me’
Mason knew his words got you off just as much as his actions did so all so his encouragements were just getting you to the edge faster and soon enough you felt the coil snap. Profanities falling from your lips and he rode you through it and the gentle coaxing from him made it even better until you were spent and he slowly removed his fingers from you.
‘Shall we get in the shower? Wash everything off?’ You suggested, a cheeky glimmer in your eyes that he caught onto immediately and after a quick kiss he was helping you out so he could pull you into the shower.
You grabbed his shower gel quickly, soaping your hands up so you could rub it over him under the guise that you were simply helping him wash but it was really an excuse so that you could touch him. Working your way around to his back so you could lean your chest against him and as soon as he placed his hands on the wall in front of him to help him balance, you let your hands trail down to his length so you could start to stroke over him.
That first moan felt like heaven, made your knees weak and your head fuzzy but you knew what you had to do.
You wanted to hear him. Hear the way you were driving him crazy. You wanted to feel his body tense as you pulled his high from him. You wanted to see that pretty pink pout on his lips as he finally came undone, confident in the knowledge that it was you that had caused it. You had made him feel that good.
‘Y/n, p-please’ he breathed, clearly wanting you to speed your movements up a little bit but you were going slow on purpose.
You ignored his pleas, kissing over his back as your other hand softly roamed his abs and you revelled in the way they fluttered under your touch. Letting the warm water trickle over your bodies and wash the soap away as you slowly pleasured him. The moans pouring from his throat were sinful and the rush of adrenaline you seemed to be getting from this made you feel better than you thought it would.
You didn’t want him to cum like this though, wanted to see him. Feel him. Taste him.
Not wanting to waste any time as you knew he was on the edge, you let go and spun him around. Pressing his back up against the tiles and dropping a quick kiss to his lips before you started kissing down his body, paying extra attention to your favourite mole before getting on your knees and down to business. You could tell he was aching for some relief so you didn’t mess around or try and tease him, taking him in your mouth straight away and from the way he let out a shuddery breath you knew he was ready for you.
You were determined to make him feel the best he ever had so you let your fingers trail over his thighs before you grabbed his wrists so you could move them into your hair. He caught on straight away, pulling it up and away out of your face gently as you flashed your eyes up to look at him. He was looking straight back, eyes dark and lips parted as he let out shallow breaths and the look of pleasure on his face gave you a push to keep going.
‘Fuck, y/n. You look so fucking good baby’ he whimpered, letting you take control and do what you wanted to him.
You knew what he liked though, able to reduce him to a grunting mess in no time and without warning you felt him try to still your movements like usual when he was just about to let go but you fought him, continuing to bob up and down on him as you swallowed him down until he couldn’t take it anymore and pulled you off with a pop.
He didn’t say a word, simply hoisted you up and pulled you into his arms so he could hold you. The pair of content in each other's arms as the warm water washed away your sins. Only pulling back to give each other a soft kiss as you laughed at each other shyly.
‘Shall we get out? We’ll start looking like raisins soon’ he joked but you let him pull you out and wrap you in a towel before leading you back into your room and popping you down on the end of the bed whilst he found the pair of you some clothes to change into.
‘You okay there my love?’ He asked, drooping a kiss on your forehead as you let out a yawn when he placed one of his shirts and your shorts in your lap.
‘Just a little sleepy that’s all’ you smiled up at him, your head resting in his hand that he was using to support the side of your head and you smiled at each other softly.
‘Why don’t you have a nap then? I’ll go make dinner and check on Parker. I’ll come and get you when it’s done’
‘No Mase it’s fine’
‘Well I’m ordering you to take a nap missy’ he smiled, lightly pulling you up so he could help you get changed and once you were he pushed you down onto the bed before dropping a kiss on your cheek. ‘I’ll come wake you up soon okay?’
‘Okay’ you chuckled, snuggling down to hopefully get some rest. It had been a long day and even though you hadn’t done much you still felt exhausted. Hoping a quick Power Nap would set you up for the rest of the evening.
You were woken up by a strange tussling sound, your eyes opening ever so slightly so you could find the source of the noise and your eyes were on Mason immediately. His back was facing you as he played around with whatever was In his hands and you almost shut your eyes again until you saw what he was holding when he turned slightly.
A little black box.
A little black ring box.
It was open and you couldn’t see what was in it but you had a good guess from the soft smile on his face as he looked down into it. Suddenly the teasing from his family made sense as to why he had to double check that he’d packed everything and your whole body froze as you realised what this trip was for and Why he was so insistent on you picking somewhere that was special to you.
He wanted to make it even more special.
The snap of the box as he shut it made you jump but you shut your eyes immediately to make it look like you were asleep and only when Mason came over to try and wake you up did you look at him. Trying you hardest to pretend like you hadn’t seen what you just had.
‘Come on, miss sleeps a lot. If you don’t wake up now you won’t sleep tonight’ he told you softly, his lips pressing soft kisses all over your face until you opened your eyes to look at him. ‘There she is. Dinner won’t be long so I thought I’d get you up’ he murmured, placing one final kiss to your forehead before getting up to chase Parker out the door.
You were trying to act as natural as possible so he didn’t find out you knew his secret but he seemed to be acting just as oblivious as you were to the point you’d forgotten about it until the next night when you’d finally gone for dinner out somewhere nice.
The restaurant was small and quiet but it felt cosy and intimate as you sat and spoke about all your favourite parts of your little trip together. Laughing as you recalled the way he got so grumpy when he lost air hockey and the ridiculous way he’d looked in his flippers.
‘Thank you for a lovely weekend, Mase. I’ve had the best time’ you smiled and he smiled back just as warmly. A nervous look on his face slowly taking over his features before he gulped.
‘I have to’ he said quietly before stuffing his hand into his pocket. ‘There’s something I want to give you’ he whispered, placing his hand on the table before pushing a small black box in your direction.
It was the same one you’d seen him look at earlier when he thought you’d been asleep and your breath caught in your throat as your eyes met his.
‘Mase, what’s this?’
‘Open it and find out’ he whispered, nodding down to the box but you didn’t think you had the strength to do it. He was staring you down though so with shaking hands you lifted the box and opened it.
A small pair of studs sat in inside, little red hearts carved from some sort of gem whilst tiny little diamonds sat on the bottom of them. They were beautiful and you gasped as your eyes flew up to meet Mason's excited ones.
‘They’re garnets, my birthstone’ he told you softly, a shiver rolling through you at how thoughtful he’d been however these were the last things you expected to be in there. ‘Do you like them?’
‘I love them’ you smiled, trying to act as natural as possible and ignore the sinking feeling in your tummy. You felt a little silly for assuming it would be something else now but you didn’t want him to catch on to what you were thinking. Forgetting he could read you like a book and always had been able to.
‘You sure? You can be honest with me, I can take them back’
‘No, don’t be silly’ you laughed, placing the box on the table before standing up so you could plant a quick kiss on his lips. ‘Thank you, Mase. They’re beautiful’
‘You’re welcome’ he replied shyly, reaching for your hand as you sat down so he could link your fingers together.
‘I feel bad, I don’t have anything for you’
‘Oh shush’ he laughed, squeezing your hand as he gazed at you lovingly. ‘You being here is more than enough for me’ he told you honestly and you felt your heart thud at the shy look on his face. ‘I’m serious. I know it’s not long but I love getting to do stuff like this when we can’
‘Me too’ you whispered, pulling his hand up so you could kiss his knuckles and your heart soared at the deep blush that took over his cheeks.
After dinner you decided to head back to the house. Another night by the fire pit calling your name so you quickly got changed before grabbing Parker and the marshmallows so you could get seated and ready for Mason to join you on your last evening in your own little slice of paradise.
‘You gonna tell me what’s wrong now?’ He asked, falling into the seat next to you before taking your hands into his. ‘And don’t say it’s nothing cause I know there’s something’
‘Mase-‘
‘Is it the earrings? It’s really not that big of a deal if you don’t like them-‘
‘No Mase’ you laughed ‘look, see? I’ve got them in’ you smiled, showing him your ears and your heart warmed at the soft smile on his face.
‘Well what is it then? You seem… disappointed’ he noted and you hadn’t realised you’d been so transparent. Then again this was Mason, he could read you like an open book and you contemplated brushing it off but in the end you realised you should probably be honest with him.
‘I’m gonna sound insane when I tell you’
‘No you won’t’ he smiled reassuringly and you took one last big beep breath before explaining.
‘The box these came in, it looks very similar to a box another piece of jewellery comes in. At first I thought it was going to be something else’
He was looking at you like he had no idea what you were talking about until you suddenly saw it click in his brain. His lips forming an ‘o’ but you couldn’t look at him for much longer and you felt your cheeks start to burn.
‘I didn’t even think’
‘It’s not your fault’ you laughed
‘So you’re disappointed it wasn’t what you thought it was’
‘I guess so’ you laughed, feeling him tickle your sides lightly to try and cheer you up before looking at you a bit more seriously.
‘Is that something you’d want? You know, to get married?’ He asked tentatively but your warm smile made him visibly relax.
‘If it’s not you Mase, then it’s not gonna be anyone’ you told him truthfully, your heart thudding at how his face softened at your words. ‘I told you once I’d made peace with that fact I’d probably always be alone but that’s not what I want anymore’
‘I don’t want that for you either’ he laughed.
‘I feel like we know what we want our future to look like and marriage would just be the next step you know?’
‘Yeah, you’re right’ he smiled, wider than you’d ever seen him smile before and it made you want to carry on talking so he would keep smiling.
‘I want to spend my life with you, Mase. And I don’t mind what that looks like. At some point I’d like to get married but I don’t mind if that’s now or ten years down the line. We’ve already spoken about mini mounts and if it happens but I just wanna carry on like we are you know? Just doing life together. You me and Parker’
The way he was looking at you was making your head spin, you were hoping you hadn’t said anything too much or gone too far but the soft kiss he left on your lips melted you and you felt okay again.
‘We’ve come a long way huh? Never thought I’d hear you talk about having my kids when we first were getting to know each other’ he joked
‘Well is that what you want?’
‘It’s what I’ve always wanted’ he whispered, kissing your cheek softly. ‘Remember that first night I stayed at yours? I came round and we made cookies?’
‘I remember’ you smiled, images of you and him being cheeky in the kitchen rolling through your mind and you felt warm at the memory.
‘When I saw you’d put a picture of us on your fridge I told myself I was gonna marry you one day. I know it seems like a lifetime ago but you’ve had me since I first saw you. You know you’ve completely ruined me for anyone else don’t you?’ he smiled brightly before getting serious again. ‘Then when I nearly lost you after my injury, that first night you were home I didn’t sleep. Just held you and told myself I’d never let you slip through my fingers again’
‘You haven’t’ you laughed, fingers dancing over the back of his hand before threading your fingers together.
‘Everything you’ve just said is all I’ve ever dreamed of’ he told you softly, his glossy eyes looking over into yours before you kissed him softly. ‘We’re soulmates, me and you. I’ve known it for the longest time and I just love you with everything I have’
‘Love you, too’ you whispered back, fingers still stroking over his skin as his eyes flickered over your face. His sweet words replaying in your ears and you knew he was right. He was your soulmate, and you’d both been out on this earth to find each other. There was a strange look in his eye but you couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was and in the next second he was trying to move you out of his lap.
‘Wait here a sec, yeah? I’ll be one minute’ he told you, untangling himself from you before dashing inside. You weren’t sure where what was happening but he was quicker than you thought he’d be, the same excited smile on his face and he made you laugh as he came towards you with grabby hands. ‘Stand up for me’
‘Why?’ You laughed, eyeing him curiously but he wasn’t backing down so you took his outstretched hands, letting him pull you up before walking you to the other side of the fire where he pulled you into a big hug. ‘Did you just pull me up for a hug’ you laughed after a few seconds but when he pulled back you realised it was a hug of reassurance more than anything else, your eyes darting to Parker who was now watching you both with with his head slightly tilted to the side as if he was just as unsure of what was going on as you were.
‘I need you to just listen to me, yeah?’ He chuckled, pulling back so he could hold your hands and look deep into your eyes. ‘I was waiting for the perfect moment but being with you, every moment is perfect’ he told you softly, letting go of one on your hands so he could reach into his back pocket before taking a step back and kneeling down on one knee in front of you.
It’s like you’d gone into autopilot, not really believing what you were seeing as his big brown eyes looked up at you full of hope.
‘I love you, y/n y/l/n. So so much. I don’t wanna wait ten years when I’ve known for a very long time that you’re the one for me. I tell myself all the time the best decision I ever made was going for a walk at 1am cause it led me to you and I’d do it again a million times over. In this life and the next and all the other ones that come after it cause you’re it for me and I’m so lucky to have found you. Cause I feel like you were put there just for me to find. This, what we have, I want that every day for as long as I possibly can’ he told you finally bringing his arm forward to reveal another black box, but he opened it for you this time, the ring you were expecting at dinner now sat proudly inside and you felt a shiver run through you at the sight of it. ‘Will you marry me?’
You couldn’t speak, collapsing to your knees in front of him so you could wrap your arms around his neck and you felt him chuckle as he pulled you into his body. You were sobbing your little heart out, unable to control your emotions but you wanted to look at him again, pulling back so you could hold his face in between your hands and the tear marks down his cheeks only made you sob harder.
‘Are you s-sure?’ You laughed, watching him roll his eyes before pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
‘Of course I’m sure, you big melon’ he laughed, squeezing your sides. ‘Come on, don’t leave me hanging. Is it a yes?’
‘It’s a yes’ you whispered, nodding your head furiously before pulling him towards you for a loving kiss. You could feel his relief pouring into you as you held onto each other like you might disappear. Only pulling back so you could rest your foreheads against each other to try and settle each other.
‘Can I put the ring on you now?’ He laughed after a moment of silence and you joined in with him, completely forgetting about the ring as you’d only spent half a second looking at it. You pulled away to look at each other but you couldn’t speak so you just nodded, watching in awe as he opened the box again to reveal the ring of your dreams.
You gasped lightly as he took it out, popping the box on the floor before taking your left hand with his seemingly shaky ones so he could slide the ring onto your ring finger and you were pleased to find it was the perfect size.
‘Do you like it? I can get it changed if you want-‘
You cut him off with a kiss, letting him know you loved it with your lips before pulling back to look into his warm eyes.
‘You could have proposed with a ready salted hula hoop and I still would have said yes’ you whispered, causing him to chuckle before pressing a light kiss to the tip of your nose.
‘I wish you would have told me that earlier. Would of saved me a lot of money’ he joked and you rolled your eyes before letting him help you up to stand. ‘Oh and before you ask, I got permission’
‘You spoke to my dad?’
‘No, Freya’ he winked, pulling you into a hug as you both laughed before he sat back to give you some air. ‘Parker look. Mummy and daddy are getting married’ Mason laughed, tapping his thighs so Parker would come over and join you and you laughed at his slow steps. Seemily unphased at how excited you were but you appreciated the face licks just the same.
You’d said it to each other tonight already, but you really couldn’t believe how far you and Mason had come. From not wanting to see him and ignoring his texts to sitting here with him now. The love of your life declaring he also wants to spend his life with you and you felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Everything the pair of you had been through, the good and the bad, had led you to here and you were so thankful to have finally found your home. The place and the person you belonged to.
After copious amounts of cuddling on the floor, Mason eventually moved you back to sit where you had been and you were holding onto him to dear life. Nothing felt real and you didn’t want to wake up from the dream you seemed to be in so you just held each other as you tried to contain your joy.
‘I can’t believe it’ you laughed, taking another glance at your ring before looking up into Mason's soft eyes.
‘The future Mrs Mount huh? Who would've ever thought’ ’
‘Not me’ you laughed, letting him wipe the last few tears from your face before placing a delicate kiss on your forehead. ‘I love you so much’
‘I love you too, my little mountaineer’

“pretty, huh?” ficlet
basically, ian and mickey are babysitting franny when she lets it slip just how much ian talks about how pretty mickey is
“You’re gonna use this color,” Franny picks out a navy blue crayon, handing it to Mickey.
The two are sitting beside the coffee table in the den, Franny on her knees and Mickey leaned against the couch. There are about five different coloring books laid out on the dark-wood table, which now has its own little streak of purple thanks to Franny. Debbie had dropped Franny off with a few Princess and Fairy coloring books. Mickey immediately went to the little cabinet where they keep Franny’s items for the Monster Truck coloring book that he had bought for her. She beamed, insisting that they start coloring now. Ian had gone out to get lunch, so it was just them two coloring away in a comfortable silence. Franny always got so concentrated when coloring, her tongue sticking out between her lips, brows furrowed. Mickey found it absolutely endearing, it reminded him so much of Ian. A lot about Franny reminded him of Ian, including her bossy nature.
Mickey chuckles, “Can’t I choose my own color crayon, Fran?” He questions while taking the crayon she holds out to him.
“But I want you to use this one,” she says rather seriously, so Mickey complies, scribbling away with the dark blue crayon.
Ian walks through the door, take-out containers hanging off his fingers that peaked out of his gloves, big coat wrapped tightly around him, and a bright-red face.
“Jesus, it’s fucking freezing,” he says as soon as he steps inside.
Franny seems to pay him no mind, completely concentrating on her artwork as Mickey looks ups, “Ay, I know, man. why don’t you go change into somethin’ warmer and then we’ll eat,” Mickey says softly before returning to his coloring, picking up the blue crayon that was basically a nub at this point.
“Yeah okay, I’ll be quick,” Ian sets the food on the counter before heading over to where the two sit in their own little world.
He places a quick kiss to both Mickey and Franny’s heads, “Hi Fran,” he raises his voice a little as if to say I’m right here, aren’t you excited to see me?
“Uncle Ian!” Franny squeals, finally pulling away from her coloring long enough to realize he was in the room. She jumps up, wrapping her arms around his leg tightly before returning to her picture.
That always made Mickey’s heart skip a beat; seeing him and Franny. The way Ian looked even taller next to her, how she soon figured out she couldn’t hug him while standing up, so instead she grew a habit of clinging to his leg as a warm welcome and goodbye. With that, Ian takes off to the bedroom.
A few more moments of silence pass before Franny breaks it, breaking her gaze away from her purple and green monster truck to stare at Mickey, “You’re pretty Uncle Mickey,” she says matter-of-factly before returning to her drawing. At the same time, Ian walks in, leaned against the doorway to the den, a small smile on his face at the sight of his husband and niece.
Mickey can’t help but chuckle, looking over at Ian with his eyebrows raised because Where the hell did that come from?
“Well thanks, Little Red. You ain’t too bad yourself kid, way prettier than me,” his attempt to halt the smile tugging at the corners of his mouth miserably fails as he watches Franny giggle and bat her eyelashes at the comment.
Franny’s hand moves slowly and surely around the page, “Uncle Ian says it all the time,” she continues scribbling, “Says that you’re soooo pretty,” she giggles slightly, looking towards Ian
“Oh, ‘s that right?” Mickey raises one eyebrow and turns his head towards Ian who wears a smug grin.
Ian shrugs his shoulders, “I’ve been exposed,” he states matter-of-factly, “What can I say?”
“I have to pee,” Franny says, already bored with their conversation, jumping up from her spot and headed down the hallway.
“Wash your hands, Fran!” Ian yells after her, pushing himself off the door frame, heading towards Mickey.
“Pretty, huh Gallagher?” Mickey flashes a one-sided grin up at where Ian stands behind him, hovering over his head, a certain softness in his eyes.
Ian shrugs, “I stand by it…” Ian leans down and presses their lips together spider-man style, “Fucking beautiful,” he whispers as their mouths part, but still remain close together.
Mickey beams, a warmth that only Ian can provide spreading all throughout his body, “Yeha, you too, Red.” They kiss one more time before Franny comes running in, demanding a popsicle. They all three sit on the patio and eat their popsicle, Mickey looking on in amusement as both Ian and Franny end up with red all over their mouths and shirts by the time they’re done.

youtuber bf sunghoon
youtuber!sunghoon x reader! in which he is a world renowned youtube star with millions of subscribers but his favourite person will always steal the spotlight — requests are open officially now if you want something specific:)
honestly i see him being one of those youtubers that started posting when they were a kid and just grew a huge fan base from there
like hes been posting since he was like eleven and now hes 20 with over 15 million subs
yes. i’m giving him 15 million. he deserves more. subscribe to him rn
and you’re not on the youtube scene until the two of you start dating
but how you met is actually filmed
he was filming a vlog with his friends and they decided to film a basketball vid for heeseung’s channel
now sunghoon isn’t bad at basketball but he isn’t the best
so you can probably see where this is going
if not then… you were innocently passing by the court when the ball flung over the high gate and smacked you in the side of the head
you wanted death to welcome you
really you could’ve curled up in a ball
pain and embarrassment you didn’t know which was worse
“riki stop laughing- oh my god-”
you couldn’t really see that well but you managed to make out multiple figures on the court standing still just staring
one of them had their hands slapped over their mouth so you assumed that one was riki
someone was leaving the court but you couldn’t make out it it was one person or two because your vision was off
poor you just wanted a slushie to cool you down
you ended up walking away with bf tho so let’s be real… getting slapped in the head was worth it
“i’m so sorry- are you okay?”
“oh no. it’s fine. cant see but you know… it’s all good”
you little people pleaser you
the person takes your hand awkwardly to try and steady you
because that ball had knocked off your entire balance
thats so embarrassing for you im so sorry for doing this to you BUT ITS FOR THE PLOT! you’re gorgeous enough to get through it, your face card never declines bae just take it in stride
after a few moments your vision settled and you were finally able to focus on the boy
and boy was he fine
suddenly the embarrassment seemed worse than the pain
because a really hot guy just watched you get a ball to the head
“do i need to take you somewhere to get checked? you don’t have a concussion right? i didn’t kill you or anything?”
the only thing he killed was your ego
despite insisting that you’re fine, he convinces you to let him buy you a slushie as a makeup gift
cue the annoying wolf whistles when his friends see the two of you walking away together
sunghoon flips them off forgetting all about the video he was supposed to film for heeseung
and you best believe that long legged mf kept that part in the vid
anyways the two of you get a slushie together and he tells you all about his channel and eventually when it’s time for you to head home
he asks if he can see you again
and you’re just like *debby ryan meme* who me?
that was horrifyingly cringe i am so sorry
skipping past that, you are not about to turn this man down so you agree and a date is scheduled
moving on from how sunghoon was blessed with your existence, let’s get into your relationship — my favourite part;D
his fans absolutely adore you as they should
im your biggest fan tho don’t forget that pls
literally his stans beef with him asking if he can fight
no but fr can he because i’ll get my boxing gloves on rn
sorry sorry
videos with you always get a lot of views but there isn’t many of them since he does value privacy and is quite protective
theres like a video with you once every six months and then you’ll just make the odd appearance in the background
his friends LOVE having you in their videos tho bc you bring in them views bc everyone loves you so much
ultimately as much sunghoon would like to protect and shield you, he knows you are your own person and let’s you decide whether you want to be in their videos or not
most of the time you’re like sure because it’s fun
there’s definitely fan made compilations of sunghoon being an absolute simp for you
THE FAN EDITS!!! THE FAN EDITS!!!
you literally sit and watch them before you go to sleep
ngl id do that too i don’t blame u
the video of you being knocked out by the ball is an iconic moment in his fandom
his friends bring it up any chance they get
“remember when sunghoon knocked all of the brain cells out of their head?”
“what brain cells? they had none to begin with.”
cue you throwing a pillow at the youngest for that comment
“you’re like 6! go learn how to read.”
ni-ki definitely sees you as an older sibling and as much as he teases you, he adores you
the boy literally threatens sunghoon whenever you aren’t around
“i swear if you mess up this relationship and make me a child of divorce, i will roundhouse kick you”
sunghoon just snorts but he knows he will never ever hurt you
because the idea of breaking your precious heart genuinely fills him with dread and nausea
also because me and ni-ki have a y/n protection squad going. we’ve got your back ml don’t worry
sometimes he films for hours and then goes straight to editing with no breaks so you always supply him with some water and snacks
that definitely convinces him to take a break because he just needs to kiss all over your face for being so darn amazing
you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him
isn’t sappy often but he has his moments where he’ll remind you of how much he genuinely loves and appreciates you
those little declarations always make you sob
and now i’m gonna sob because you’re both just so in love
definitely the internets favourite couple
now that’s over, excuse me whilst i go slide down a wall and cry of loneliness:)
small end note — had this in the drafts for a while and i’m not too keen on it but it took some time to do, so here we are. also thank you for all of your support recently! i’m very grateful and appreciate of you! much love! :)

“Look officer I’m sorry ok. My friend here is so pregnant.” Fiona said. You sighed and nodded as she and V gestured to you. “She’s ready to pop.”
“Um… um…” You said as you looked down. Fiona and V both did the same and started to panic.
“See! She’s having the baby right now.” V snapped at the officer who hurried back to his car to call an ambulance. V helped you stay standing as you breathed, panicked and started yelling while Fiona called the others.
“I changed my mind. Let’s just go home.” You said to V who laughed.
“Oh, it’s far too late for that.” V warned you. The ambulance came and you held onto Fiona’s hand as V second-guessed the paramedic. You weren’t sure how long the ambulance had driven when it suddenly screeched to a halt. There was a lot of shouting and then the back opened up. Debbie, Ian and Carl squashed in while V moved up so Lip could kneel down next to you.
“Ok, it’s a little crowded in here.” Fiona said as the paramedic closed the door and shouted for them to carry on driving.
“You’re here!” You said as he sat up a little on the stretcher that you’d been pushed down onto by V after several attempts to get up.
"I'd never miss such an important day for you and our family." Lip assured you.
“Ok, well that’s lovely but you have to tell them to go home… there’s been a mistake I can’t do this!” You insisted. Lip glanced around at everyone and chuckled as he leaned in.
“Well. I’m pretty sure it’s too late for that but I’m here.” Lip said with amusement.
“Ohh… ok.” You said quietly and in defeat. Lip chuckled and let you squeeze his hand the rest of the way to the hospital.

Chapter 4
Scars and Souvenirs
Summary: Sy and his lady both retire from the army but not before tragedy befalls Sy. He slowly tries to adjust to life again on their ranch.
Pairing: Sy / OFC
Word count: 2,487
Rating: More details are revealed about Sy's capture. Be warned.
~~~~♡~~~~
Debbie sighed and stretched her back as she waited for the coffee to brew, she needed the caffeine.  Her head was about to explode and her nerves were on edge.
Sy had managed a couple hours of nightmare laiden sleep as soon as the storm died down but now the next front was already coming through and it didn't look like she would be able to get him home any time soon. She was pulled from her thoughts by a cold, wet nose pressed to the back of her hand. "Hi girl," She grinned as she scratched Aika's ears. Aika whined and danced in place. "Sy awake?" She knew Aika body language as well as Sy did.
Aika happily bounded out of the kitchen and Deb followed. She found Sy sitting up on the couch rubbing his face as Aika sat down between his feet. "I don't believe it," Sara sighed and shook her head earning a half-hearted chuckle from Sy.
"What?" Deb asked as she sat down next to him.
"Told Aika to go get you and Ma didn't believe she would," his voice still thick with sleep.
"Oh," She grinned. "Sounds like our good girl needs a treato."
"I didn't bring any. Wasn't planning for all this." He jumped when the thunder rumbled again, his eyes scanning the windows and doors watching for an attack.
"Oh?" She reached for her bag in the chair to her right and sat it in front of her. Opening it she pulled out a bag of Aika's favorite treats and handed them to Sy. "I brought her treats, food, her travel food and water dishes, some of the MRE'S, and your meds and clothes." She was incredibly efficient at packing that army rucksack and she knew during an episode and surrounding it Sy would be hyper vigilant.
He gave Aika a treat as Deb listed off what she packed. He looked at her in complete awe. It was everything they needed and things he would need to keep himself calm and make him feel safe. It brought tears to his eyes and he pulled her into a hug and just held her. "You are unreal, sugar."
She rubbed his back and still felt him trembling though it was less than before. She opened a peanut butter cup and held it to his mouth. "Bite please."
He shook his head no. "Not hungry."
"Don't care, bite please." When he shook his head again she moved so she was looking in his eyes. "I know that you aren’t hungry sweetheart but all the adrenaline and anxiety has drained your body. You have to eat or your muscles are going to start cramping and I know you remember just how painful that is." She held the candy back to his mouth and he still refused. Deb sighed, "Austin Lee Syverson do you remember in medic training, preparing for combat trauma how we were told that anything that can be taken orally can be given rectally? You are gonna eat. Now, choose which end you'd like to receive it through."
Sy's eyes got huge and he opened his mouth accepting the candy. He heard his mom laugh and glanced over at her, his cheeks tinged pink. "I have to let her think she can win some times," he mock whispers.
"Uh-huh," Sara winks at him. "I think she has you wrapped around her little finger."
She managed to get him to eat a few pieces of candy, some apple slices and drink some water. She pressed a kiss to his forehead. "Thank you." He pulled her to his side and she turned so that he could lean into her. Aika jumped up on his other side and laid her head in his lap.
They sat in silence for a few minutes and Sara was weighing whether or not she wanted to bring some things up. She finally spoke. "Austin, I want to talk to you about some things."
Debbie felt him tense in her arms and his fingers tighten on her hip. "This probably isn't a great time," She started but Sara held up her hand and cut her off.
"We need to do this," Sara insisted. "I've been really hurt since you went to Germany, Austin." His eyes snapped up to look at her but he didn’t say anything. "When your sister and I called to ask if we could come to you they told us no. They said at that moment you were still being debriefed and there were things that they had to take care of before anyone could visit you."
Sy audibly swallowed and his breathing shifted to a more rapid pace. "I..I wasn't exactly in a good place Ma. I was …" he searched for the words he needed but his mind was racing. "I.. I would .. I couldn't.." he sighed, "anyone who came near me I tried to attack. I didn't know who was there to hurt me or help me."
Sara processed his answer for a minute before responding. "She," pointing to Debbie, "was allowed to be with you."
"I was allowed to be there, not because he asked for me specifically, Sara, but because I was military and I had security clearance so if he said anything classified it was safe." She wanted to snap but she kept her voice calm for Sy's sake.
"Why would he tell classified secrets? Austin would never betray his country like that!" Sara felt like Debbie had insulted him.
Debbie ground her teeth in an effort to keep her mouth shut.  She wanted to fire back but she wouldn't reveal what Sy went through. That wasn't her story to tell. Sy huffed a humorless laugh. "I don't think you understand what I went through."
"Why is that Austin? Oh, because you've never told me anything about it!"
Debbie shook her head. "I got here in the storm so I can get us back home. Let's go," She took Sy's hand and started to stand.
"Runaway instead of talking like adults?" Sara snapped.
"Has he not been through enough for you?" Debbie growled.
"Stop," Sy shook his head. Debbie started to argue but he stooped her then looked to his Ma. "I had my reasons for doing things the way I did Ma, and I don't have to justify them to you but if you want to know what happened I'll tell you. I need you to know that if we do this I don't know if it will change our relationship or not."
"It didn't change your and Debbie's relationship." Sara observed.
"It did," Deb explained. "Sy resented me for knowing at first. He tried to push me away and make me hate him. There were days that his anger was so violent it scared me. He never hit me, he never would, but furniture, dishes, appliances and walls didn't stand a chance and the physical exhaustion and illness he went through in his recovery was hell for him."
"Ok, say I understand not going to Germany but you kept us away for almost a year after you got back to the states," Sara argued.
Sy stood and Debbie tensed unsure of what was going to happen, even Aika sat up stiffly. "I didn't know how to face you Ma. I didn't know how to hide the shame and guilt then and I didn't want you to see it!"
"Why on earth would I be ashamed of you Austin? You are my son!"
"Because of my weakness and the blood on my hands!" He yelled.
"What are you talking about?" Sara demanded.  "That's stupid!"
Sy froze and Debbie actually facepalmed. "Stupid? You think what I am experiencing is stupid?" Sy growled.
"No," She tried to correct herself but Sy, in this state, was not a Sy that would let go easily.
"No, you said it was stupid but you have no fucking idea what happened! How badly I failed! How many people died because of me!"
"Austin," Debbie tried to intervene.
He spun on her. "No!" Turning back to Sara he shook his head then dropped his sweatpants kicking them away and threw his shirt on the floor revealing the scars from his capture.
Sara gasped and covered her face but he wasn’t having it. He walked over to her and yanked her hands away. "You wanted to know. To know why I had guilt and shame, well here it is!" He held his arms out wide and spun around showing her.
"Oh God, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Sara said through tears.
"You wanna know what they're from? These," he pointed to burn wounds on his thighs, "hot pokers, these, stab wounds, these razor wire, these electric shock burns, these non-lethal gun shots, ice pick in the desert because they thought it was funny! Took a year for my fingernails to all grow back after they were pulled out one by one with pliers and bones? Well," he laughed maniacally. "They used sticks to whip the bottoms of our feet until the skin was raw and bloody, then used hammers to break the bones so we couldn't try to escape. They shattered my left leg in two places because I broke the ropes binding me when they murdered Jizzy in front of me. I dislocated my shoulder trying to get to Bossman when they executed him! Is that what you wanted Ma? Or do you need more detail?"
Sy swayed on his feet, all the adrenaline fading and the crash beginning. Debbie knew he was too lost at this point to even try and touch him without him lashing out at her so she waited. It was all she could do. It wasn't long until Sy collapsed in a sweaty heap on the floor. She stepped closer and he cringed and curled up in a ball. "Captain Syverson?" She asked softly.
"No," he sobbed and held his arms out to her. "I Know where I am Deb."
She fell to her knees beside him and held him while he sobbed. "It's OK baby, I've got ya." She rocked him and stroked his back. "You did all you could to try and help them. Most people wouldn't have survived what you did. All the doctors you saw said they don't know how you did it. Boz said they didn't go through a fraction of the tournament you did. You had to come back to me sweetheart. I couldn't have survived without you."
Debbie was so pissed that her ears were ringing and she wanted to throttle the older woman and as soon as she could get her alone she damn well might do it.
Sara went over and sat on the other side of him wrapping her arms around them both. "I'm sorry I pushed you son but I needed to know what happened to you. To understand why you were pushing me away and didn't want to be alone with me."
"Because I knew this would happen," he hiccuped, still trying to stop the tears. "I knew you would push until I told you and I was afraid ok?"
"Nothing to fear from me son. I love you. You are my baby."
"Believe me? You have no choice but to believe me. I have the scars to prove it. I didn’t want to relive it! This isn't about you!" Sy roared.
"Ok. Up," Debbie stood and got Sy to his feet then helped him get dressed.
"You can't go out there in this," Sara waved her off.
Debbie stood up from tying Sy's shoes and tossed her rucksack over her back. "Watch me!" She helped Sy out the door.
~~~~♡~~~~
Amy looked up at her husband Mike when the doorbell rang. "Who the hell would be out in this?"
Mike opened the door. "Sy?" He grabbed one of his arms to take some of his weight off Debbie who looked like she was about to collapse and ushered them into the house.
"Austin?" Amy gasped and rushed to them.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't get him home because there was too much debris and power lines down in that direction," Debbie explained on the verge of tears.
Little footsteps could be heard on the stairs, Amy and Mike's kids coming to investigate who rang the bell. Mike went to herd them back to their rooms for now while Amy and Deb took Sy to the guest room and sat him on the bed, Aika following closely. Amy got them some towels and Deb started drying Sy. "What happened?"
"You tell," Sy told Debbie. He was too drained and scattered to be able to piece a thought together much less say words.
Debbie relayed the story from him going over to help with storm prep to the thunder causing flashbacks to Sara pushing him for info until he snapped. "I even tried to explain to her that he wanted to keep their relationship pure so he would have someone to go to that didn't know about what happened.  He just wanted their relationship to be normal without all his fears of guilt, even as misplaced as they are."
"I knew that she felt slighted when we were told we couldn't come see him. She was hurt especially when the nurse at the hospital told us you were there." Deb nodded and was about to try and explain when Sara stopped her. "Austin explained it the first time he called and it made sense. We also didn't understand just how bad he was and how much he was struggling but it was clear the first time we did get to see him that it was a miracle he survived."
Debbie nodded as she rubbed Sy's back while he hugged her. "He barely did."
"Baby brother," Amy ran her hand over his short hair and his eyes shifted to her. "That will never happen to you here. I do hope that one day you will feel safe enough to open up about your time over there and it doesn't have to be about the capture, just about the rest but the truth is Austin I'm just happy my little brother is alive and home."
He let go of Deb and turned to hug Amy. He squeezed her tight. "Thank you, sis. That means everything to me."

She pressed a kiss to his head. "Ok, you two will be staying here for the night. It's still storming and they aren't gonna get those roads cleared for quite a while. Mike is going to cook some burgers and dogs later. After we eat you can get some rest. You both look exhausted. "
"It's late, shouldn't the kids have already eaten?" Sy asked. Amy was big on keeping the kids on a schedule.
"Honey, it's three in the afternoon," Amy laughed.
Debbie and Sy both groaned and fell back across the bed.

my good looking boy
Tumblr media
first fanfic on this app, don't hate me if it's horrendous 😓✋
xo, ali
warnings: child neglect, mentions of abuse, cursing, nausea, body shaming, mentions of starving.
summary: You're the new kid in town, hoping to find a friendship. When you meet the good looking boy that you hope will always be by your side.
I walked out the door, finally wishing I can have a better life than how I had it in Arizona. My mom moved us to Boston, Massachusetts after my dad died, hoping for a new start in life. Maybe find a new husband. She said he died hating this marriage. That I ruined everything. That she wished I wasn't here and that maybe her marriage would have worked fine. No arguments. No hate.
Ever since we moved to Boston, she's been putting on a happy smile. She's been trying to move on. Going to clubs and bars. I heard she found some man at her work place, that they have been hitting it off.
It's been a lonely summer and I finally start school today. My mom gave me the name of the school and told me to walk. I don't have a problem with it, it's just kind of sad walking alone. Seeing the buses and cars.
I made it to the school and immediately see people laughing with their friends. I don't have friends but i'm sure I can make some, I mean it wasn't that hard back at my old school.
I began to walk up the stairs of the most idle staircase. The people in front of me are pretty slow but I really don't care considering we have a good 15 minutes until class.
While stepping up each step, I get pushed by the backpack that's in front of me. Tripping me down to the hands of the person behind me.
"Shit, I'm sorry." I said on the tips of my heels backwards. "Are you okay?" A boys voice spoke to me. I got back on my toes and held onto the railing. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just tripped." I spoke to him. I got to the top of the staircase and he grabbed my wrist as I walked away. "Wait, you don't look like you were here last year. Are you new?" He asked looking into my eyes. I paused. His eyes were a light blue and he had some medium length hair. "Yeah, I'm new. This is kind of embarrassing. My first day at a new school and I'm making a fool of myself to the first person I talk to." I laughed quietly. "Well, I don't think you're a fool. You seem like a pretty cool person." He smiled at me. "Thanks, wanna be friends?" I asked him, hoping he says yes. "Sure, why not." He said as he looked down at his phone. "I gotta get going, maybe I'll see you at lunch?" He said while walking away. "Yeah, cya!"
__________
Finally lunch. It's not like I have any money to buy anything but it's nice to get a break. I looked around, trying to find the good looking boy that was with me this morning. "Hey, black haired girl! Over here!" I looked over my shoulder to see the good looking boy calling me over. I walked over to the table he was at, feeling like all eyes were on me.
"Hi" I sighed. "Are you not gonna get lunch? Well it's just because you're thighs look like you ate thirty pounds of cake." The girl next to me spat out. "Alyssa, stop being so mean." The other girl spoke. "You're thighs are perfect. Not that I was looking. I-I just wanted you to know." The good looking boy murmured. "Thanks, I didn't take it in a weird way." I giggled to myself.
"I guess I haven't introduced my friends to you yet. Those two are Debbie and Alyssa. This is Izaiah. Then they're Nate and Madi. Oh and I'm Chris!" Chris.. Alright. "Nice to meet you guys! I'm y/n!" "Cute! Love the name y/n" Madi stated. "Do you want anything to eat? I have a bag of strawberries if you want." Chris whispered over the loud noise of the cafeteria. "I really shouldn't. It's your food plus I'm not that hungry." I whispered back. He put the bag of strawberries in my hand. "Please, I insist. That's what friends are for at the least, right?" He gave off a soft smile. "Right. Thanks." I said whilst hiding my smile. I opened the bag and began munching on the strawberries. I felt happy. I looked to my side, seeing Alyssa roll her eyes at me. Maybe she likes Chris? I don't know. I feel weird for barging into this friendship. The only people I've felt comfortable with were my friends on a phone screen all the way from Arizona to Boston. "Can I have your number considering we are friends and I might need questions to be answered?" Chris asked, pulling out his phone. "Yeah sure it's 602-123-4567." I spoke out. "Thanks. I'll text you so you know it's me." Chris murmured.
_________
"Are you just gonna walk home? It's pretty hot out here." Chris spoke. "Yeah. My house isn't that far away. I live in Lakeview." I said, walking foward. "I live there too! Lets walk together! Let me just tell my brothers that i'm walking instead." He said whilst pulling out his phone. "If you want too. I won't stop you, not one bit." I sighed. Yeah, I like walking alone but he's my first friend in this state so I'll not mind it too much. Wait he has brothers? "You have brothers?" I asked. "Yeah, I live with them and my mom. But my brother, Matt, drives me and Nick, my other brother, to school. Well, that's because he is the only one with a license." Alright, cool. It's not crazy but just cool. I stayed silent. "Do you wanna eat something at my house? It's just- you didn't eat anything at lunch and I wanted to know if you were hungry. My mom would fucking love you. You would also love her food!" He exclaimed. "Okay, I'll go." I said while giggling.
After about 10 minutes, we made it to his house. He unlocked the door and we went inside. "This is where I live. Welcome!" He said very proudly. "Chris honey, is this one of your little friends? Nice to meet you, I'm Mary lou. You can call me Ms. Sturniolo if you want though. Im making dinner and there's always room for one more stomach!" His mom said while stirring the pot. "Thanks, I'm basically starved and can't wait to eat whatever you have in that pot..!" I stated. "Let's go to my room until food is ready." He advised. I placed my shoes and back pack on the floor next to the front door, taking his hand that was pulling me. We ran up the stairs and he opened the door to his room. Purple LED lights, dark green blanket on the bed, a tv, pictures of him and his friends, family photos, empty cans of pepsi, a desk. Just stuff that goes in a room. "Before you meet them, I just want you to know that the two brothers I have are my triplets. So we look alike, but we have our differences. If that makes sense. If you're ever stuck, Matt has a stubble beard, Nick has blonde hair, and I'm the one with ear length hair." He assured. "Cool.. Cool..."
"Did you know me and my brothers have a YouTube channel? We just hit two million subs! I bet you didn't know that about me!" He shouted. "I didn't know that, we should watch it while eating!" I exclaimed.
"Kids, dinner!" His mom shouted. "I'll go get the food, you can stay here of you want. If you don't come I'll just bring your plate up. But you can search up 'sturniolo triplets' and pick whatever video you want to watch..!" He said as he walked out the door. I picked up the remote and went to YouTube on the Roku tv. Sturniolo triplets... There! I wouldn't want to watch a old video.. But I don't want to watch a video that's too recent. Whatever. I can't choose. I'll just ask him what he likes when he gets back.
__
"Took long enough! I was basically falling asleep!" I said as he brung the plate to my thighs. "Well you didn't. Here's your food."
He pulled out two pepsis from the pockets of his gray sweatpants. Outlining his- I need to stop thinking nasty shit. "I brought Pepsi if you wanted to drink something while eating." He said while handing me it. "Thanks. Ya know, I haven't had soda in three years. Forgot the taste." I spoke as I clicked open the can. "Seriously? That's kinda crazy to be honest" "Yeah, yeah. Anyway, I couldn't find a video so I would just let you pick any video you want." "Maybe we can just eat and talk?" He murmured. "Sure, that would be nice."
____two months later____
I popped on my airpods and sat on the bench, scrolling through spotify trying to erase the thought that my mom could've had a bad day. But especially, that she would take it out on me. I can't remember the last time I had a good relationship with my mother. I would usually eat at Chris's house when I knew my mom wouldn't feed me. He knows somethings wrong but whenever he asks, I just change the subject. I don't want him to worry about me. He can worry about other things, like grades or if he doesn't understand a question. But he shouldn't worry about anything I have to say. It's lunch time but I'd rather starve than have to look Alyssa in the eyes. Knowing she was judging me every second she got. I wasn't a chubby girl. It's just that everything I ate would go to my thighs. I did have a small stomach. I did have normal arms. I was normal. I at least wanted to be normal.
I hummed to the tune of the song. Closing my eyes and waiting to feel my alarm go off so I could go back to class. I needed the thoughts out my head. I was hungry and I knew it. I had a job over the summer but my mom took my paychecks when they came in the mail saying, "Family shares money. Don't be greedy because boys don't like that." Her voice surrounded my thoughts.
I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I looked over to see Chris. I took off my airpods, staring at him.
"You aren't at the lunch table so I went to go find you. I have a sandwich though. For you." He smiled. "Thanks, this is probably the last thing I'll eat this week!" I said. Knowing it probably was. His smile fell off his face. I looked into his eyes that looked into mine. "Oh- no, I was joking. Don't uhm take that seriously." I awkwardly said, lying through my teeth. He look worried. The last thing I wanted him to look like. We stared into each other's eyes. Neither of us looking away.
I learned in for a hug. My head rested on his shoulder. "Thanks for the sandwich." I whispered in his ear. His hands rubbed my back. I sighed at leaned back to where I was, unraveling the sandwich he gave me and taking a bite. I put one airpod back in my ear, handing him the other one. "Wanna listen?" I said as I chewed. He took the airpod and put it inside his ear as "slow dancing in the dark" by Joji started playing. I looked at the sky while chewing and taking another bite. "I know something is worrying you." He whispered. I look at him while my cheeks were stuffed. I swallowed. "What?" I sighed. "Y/n. I'm your friend. What's bothering you?" He said. I wouldn't tell him. All I was thinking about were those words and 'give me reasons we should be complete'. "Nothing is bothering me. I-I-I'm sorry if I'm making this friendship hard but.. Uhm.. I think I need to go." I gagged out. Whenever I'm nervous I throw up. So I needed to get out of there as soon as possible. I hated throwing up. As I had my airpods in, 'I want you' by mitski played. I knew he could hear it too.

Things I can’t stop thinking about from Jamie and Zoe’s Tales of the TARDIS episode
- The very concept of them remembering and seeing each other again in general.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- How pointed it is in calling their mindwipe unforgivable and insisting that they’ll definitely never forget again. I get the feeling RTD or someone else involved in the writing of it has been carrying a grudge against their ending for decades and used this as therapy lol. Relatable.
- The recorder and the reverence with which they both treat it. 🥺
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- “I missed him every day of my life. Didn’t even realize it.” 😭
- “I’d still be with him now if I could, trying to keep up with him.” This line hits so hard both because Jamie truly never would have left and because Frazer has said this same thing about himself and Pat, that they’d still be doing it if he were alive and if they hadn’t both been convinced that it was time to leave. My heart.
- This is true of these episodes generally but I love so much that they both had happy and fulfilling lives. Jamie got to have a wonderful big family and Zoe was still able to keep her growth from her travels and escape just being “all brain and no heart”.
- ZOE NAMED HER SON JAMES. NOBODY LOOK AT ME.
- ^ Jamie’s reaction to the above. The way his face and voice go so soft, I can’t deal with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- The fact that they were still influenced by their experiences even if they couldn’t remember them. Especially meaningful for Zoe because she needed those experiences so badly, so it’s a relief to see that she was able to use them and carve out a happy life for herself because of them even if she couldn’t remember. It brings such a happy bit of closure to the Doctor’s concerned question, “She’ll be alright, won’t she?”
- “I want to forget about the Cybermen!” with Jamie’s shifty eyes of disdain, lol. I bet he does considering he had to see them more times than any other companion!
- Lovely to hear names like the Krotons and the Quarks, along with a classic Jamie-ism in “wee little beasties”.
- I like the specific reference to Jamie’s face mishap lol. It was probably just to bring up a funny part of the story they just reviewed but it also serves as a nice shoutout to Hamish Wilson who passed a few years ago.
- “Well, who’d’a thought? President and a Highlander sharing stories.” That highlights something I love about the 60s era of the show, how you get people from so many times and places who never would have known each other but come to mean the world to each other. Jamie and Zoe couldn’t be farther from one another in time or background and they never should have met but here they are, both sharing so much love for the other and having had a bond so strong that Zoe subconsciously named her son for him.
- Jamie’s, “I could get used to this,” and happy wiggle in the chair, lol. That felt very Jamie and reminds me of his amusing character arc wherein he becomes more and more attached to future conveniences or technologies or comforts. I bet you could easily get used to it, Jamie!
- Jamie suddenly destroying the vibe by wondering if they could be in Heaven, rofl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Hearing them talk about Victoria made me so emotional, partly for the characters and partly because Debbie’s passing is still in fairly recent memory and it very much felt just as much like a tribute to her as for the character. I lost it over Jamie’s emotional face and hoping that she had a nice life. It felt so painfully real, an old man looking back on a girl he once knew and loved in his youth and hoping she lived well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- These two, generally. I love them so much and this was so healing.

“Mila,” Betty called out, washing your hands in the kitchen sink. “Did you cut the lemons last night?”
The restaurant was going to open in two minutes, it was Friday. They needed lemons for the tea.
Mila always did that, every time it was her turn to cut the lemons the night before she would not do it and everyone would be left scrambling in the morning.
“On it now,” she called out.
Betty rolled her eyes, but didn’t complain.
As long as she did it…
Betty took her apron, wrapping it around her waist and looking around for her pen.
“Hey,” Elena walked into the kitchen, phone in hand. “Does anyone speak German?”
She looked around, and the other waitresses did the same.
Was Ruby in today?
“No one?” Mila insisted. “Really?”
Betty shrugged.
Mama Stefka was a blend  - a crock-pot if someone was to ask the girls -  of everything East Europe and more. It was founded by a Bulgarian family she didn’t know when, and it slowly grew into something more. By now, it had a little bit of everything from everywhere.
Betty. Well…  Elżbieta was Polish. She was the only one, but the team was full of girls from every little place possible.
Taty from Belarus, Anna and Elena from Moldova, Martina from Slovakia, Natalia from Russia…
“Wait, isn’t Nat coming today?” Betty realised. “She speaks German.”
Natalia was their hostess, she’d been in the restaurant for ten years or something, when they were still a tiny thing with just Bulgarian food.
Everyone had gotten there before Betty, to be fair.
Debbie’s face lit up.
“Yes! When is she coming?”
But before anyone answered, the door opened, and Nat walked in, looking rushed and pink on the face.
“I’m sorry, I got stuck in traffic,” she apologised quickly, a bit breathless.
Debbie rushed to her, passing her a phone Betty didn’t even know she was holding.
“It’s on mute. They need someone who speaks German to serve them tonight.”
Natalia picked it up, pressing it to her ear.
"Hallo, hier ist Natalia vom Mama Stefka. Wie kann ich Ihnen behilflich sein?"
She walked off to the employees area, too stable on her huge heels.
"Natürlich können wir das arrangieren," she answered, very cheerful. "Sieben Uhr? Ja, fünf Personen."
Wanda walked past Betty, looking back at Nat and then at her again.
“Well, someone needs to learn German,” Wanda sighed.
“Not me,” Betty pocketed her stuff. “I already know languages enough and get paid the same thing as a waitress who only speaks one.”
She walked off to the dinning room, joining Debbie as she put the chairs down into the right places, still barefoot.
English wasn’t constantly spoken in Mama Stefka. Most of the visitors were immigrants, or children of immigrants. Everyone knew everyone in their community, it meant solace and community, even though not everyone was from the same country.
Well, that and their involvement with Hydra.
Okay, so no everyone who went to Mama Stefka was involved with Hydra, but they either knew someone from Hydra, was from Hydra, or was too clueless about Hydra to know their kid, sibling, parent or partner was in Hydra – or they just really liked their food, but those were very few people.
Betty, and all of the other waitress, pretended not to know.
It was best to be oblivious than to be in danger.
Half an hour later, the place was on its way to blooming, and her section already had a few tables full when Nat called for her in the kitchen.
“The Malicks are here,” she called out. “They’re asking to sit with you.”
Betty lit up. Oh, the Malicks were delightful!
When Betty had come to America, Mrs Malick had given her a room, so she wouldn’t have to pay for a hotel before school started, and always took her back during school breaks, when her dorm was closed.
Studying in New York wasn’t for everyone.
It also didn’t guarantee a job, which was why she was at Mama Stefka. They always welcomed Eastern girls in need of work and money to keep a roof over their heads.
But when Betty walked out to the dinning room, Mrs Malick was nowhere to be seen, just her boys, Wilfred, Nathaniel, and Gideon, sat around a table of four, near the corner, the most isolated table in your room.
Oh. It was that kind of dinner, then.
She walked down to it, setting four glasses down.
“Cześć chłopaki,” she smiled, as cheerful as a waitress should be. Hello, boys. “Wasza mama dziś nie wpadła?”
No ma today?
They were Polish. Well, Betty was Polish and French, but people didn’t know that. To them, she was pure Polish.
“Niestety, nie mogła dziś przyjść,” Nathaniel told her.
The brothers exchanged looks, and she followed their expressions with her eyes, and Gideon cleared his throat.
“Jesteśmy tu z innej przyczyny dziś wieczorem, Elżbieta,” he spoke, at last, looking right into her eyes, very firm. “Jestem pewien, że możemy na ciebie liczyć, że zachowasz dyskrecję?"
She stiffened up.
We are here for a different reason tonight, Elżbieta. I'm sure we can trust you to be discreet?
Very serious, then.
"Oczywiście," she agreed. “Czy życzą sobie Państwo zobaczyć menu, czy poczekają na swojego gościa?"
Of course. Would you like to see the Menu or wait for your guest?
“Wait,” Fred told her. “Thank you.”
She nodded, walking off.
It was one of those nights, then.
“Hey,” you walked to Nat. “Make sure no one bothers the Malick, will you know? Just keep them… isolated.”
She raised her eyebrows a bit, not too moved.
“It’s another night of many heads, I see,” she hummed, writing something down. “I’ll do my best with what I’m given.”
Betty nodded stiffly, her shoulders hurting a bit in tension.
Nights of many heads always made her anxious.
The man who walked into the room was very new, very tall and very strong. Betty had never seen him, ever – he was remarkable, too remarkable to be forgotten.
“That’s a tall glass of water,” she mumbled to Nat.
He looked around the room, and his eyes met hers for a brief moment, baby blue, like the clear sky of the prettiest of summer days. Was he... Norwegian? Austrian?
His hair was such a pretty golden shade of blonde, long like a lion’s mane. His beard was darker, almost brown. Maybe German. Lots of German boys looked like that, although this one was much better looking than the ones she remembered.
In any other day, she would be happy to smile to him and try to get his name.
“I’ll go check on them,” she picked up a pair of menus.
“Good luck.”
Betty walked down to the table, glancing at the box of clean plates by the corner.
“Witam ponownie, i witam, panie. Jestem Betty, będę przyjmować dziś pańskie zamówienie,” she distributed the menus. “Czy mogę przynieść państwu jakieś napoje po daniach?"
The man looked at her with confusion, and Nathaniel cleared his throat.
“English, Betty,” he requested. “Our guest isn’t fluent in Polish.”
She looked back at the man, and he just nodded stiffly.
“I’m Betty, I’ll be taking your order today,” she repeated it. “Can I bring you some refreshments after the plates?”
But the man didn’t speak, Fred did.
“We’ll call you when we are ready to order,” he told her. “Thank you, Betty.”
She just confirmed quietly, taking four plates, forks and knives, and set everything down, leaving them be.

The Akatsuki’s Favorite Halloween Movies
Deidara, Hidan and Tobi: Halloween (1978) and Halloween II (1981)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The iconic theme song. The silent killer stalking his victims in the chill of the night. The way he never says any words, never gives any warning sign of his presence until it’s too late. There are a thousand different reasons why these two movies are the favorite of this particular trio. They like to camp out in the living room and watch them back to back. Sometimes they’ll eat snacks, sometimes they’ll style each others hair, a couple of times they’ve carved pumpkins like the characters in the movie. Deidara and Tobi love the first Halloween the most, and neither felt like such a perfection in storytelling really needed a sequel. Tobi especially likes to argue on how Michael Myers is scary not because of the mask (while touching his own) but because you as the viewer don’t know the motivations behind why he targets this particular group of people. Hidan got them into Halloween II and insists that it’s still scary even knowing (some) of Myer’s thought processes. And Deidara has to admit the lab explosion scene at the end is “an artistic masterpiece, hm!”
Konan: Hocus Pocus (1993)
Tumblr media
Konan doesn’t really like scary movies, exactly. She likes things that are light and childlike, and films that evoke a sense of nostalgia. No Halloween movie gives her that sense of fulfillment quite like Hocus Pocus. The story of the boy who was turned into a cat trying to save his sister  resonates with Konan, as she would have done anything to save her “family” (Yahiko and Nagato). The sweet teen love story between Max and Allison really moves her, and she has a soft spot for Max’s quirky little sister Dani. And speaking of sisters, The Sanderson Sisters holds a place on Konan’s heart as some of the greatest “villains” of all time. She’s made Deidara and Itachi sing “I Put A Spell On You “ with her more times than they care to admit, with her as the lead witch of Winnie. They’ve even dressed up as the sisters one Halloween, with Konan as Winnie, Deidara as Sarah, and Itachi as Mary. They looked fabulous but of course Hidan never lets Deidara or Itachi forget that they “dressed up like chicks”.
Nagato and Kisame: Halloweentown (1998)
Tumblr media
Another nostalgic movie that isn’t really scary so much as it’s fun. For both of them, the notion of an entire town where “freaks” aren’t only welcome but are the norm, is very appealing to them. Kisame knows his shark-like appearance would fit right in to this mythical place, and Nagato imagines that he and his Pein bodies could really find their niche there. Kisame in general is a big fan of classic movies, and has long since been a fan of the work of Debbie Reynolds. When he found out that she played the lovable witch grandmother to Marnie in this movie, well, he was hooked. The two like to eat a lot of candy while watching this movie (it’s the only time of year that either of them truly indulges in sweets) and discuss ways they could improve the government of this fabled town.
Kakuzu: Beetlejuice 1988
Tumblr media
Kakuzu admires the character of Beetlejuice. The man is long dead yet he’s managed to use his talent of being repulsive as a means to earn income by scaring living people out of ghosts’ former homes. Kakuzu’s always says that “Hell runs on money”, and this movie gives credibility to the idea that he’s right. He hopes that if and when he finally dies, he will be able to use his talents of bounty hunting in the afterlife to keep on earning money. Maybe wrangling up wayward spirits that don’t accept that they’ve passed on? Or souls that don’t follow whatever the rules of the afterlife are? Kakuzu sees the possibilities as being endless. Kakuzu has also always had an eye for architecture and especially buildings or structures that are way outside of the norm. He’s fascinated by the remodeling that Delia Deetz does to Maitland’s house, and secretly would love such a bizarrely constructed house to live in himself one day.
Itachi: A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
Tumblr media
Itachi despises Freddy Krueger. In his mind, the man being burned alive was too light a punishment for the atrocious acts he committed against children. BUT the Uchiha was understandably drawn in by the concept of being able to control and manipulate someone through their dreams. Very similar to gengetsu, and some of the nightmares that Freddy gives to people have become inspiration for visions that Itachi’s given to his enemies. Konan likes to watch this movie with him, as she likes the character of Nancy Thompson; but she gets so scared during the movie that she has to hold on to Itachi’s arm for support the whole time. Itachi often comes away with deep fingerprints imbedded into his skin the next day.
Zetsu: Little Shop Of Horrors (1986)
Tumblr media
It should be no big surprise that a movie about a sentient plant with a rapidly developing lust for human flesh would be Zetsu’s favorite Halloween film. He loves how manipulative the plant Audrey II is with Seymour, and how easily he’s able to convince him to “feed” him. Zetsu also loves how campy this movie is, with the overzealous acting and the constant musical numbers. He’s tried to convince the entire Akatsuki to put this on as a play, and invite people from neighboring villages to come and watch. When Nagato questioned what they would do after the viewers realized they were all Akatsuki members, Zetsu’s solution was to invite them backstage to “meet” Audrey II … and never emerge again. Of course his idea was shot down, but he still loves the movie and watches it at least 10 times every October.
Sasori and Orochimaru: Child’s Play (1988)
Tumblr media
This one almost seems too obvious, but Sasori really, REALLY loves the character of Charles Lee Ray, aka Chucky. Finding a way to beat death by transferring his soul into a body that could never be hurt, or age, or die? Sasori was sold from the first time his grandmother let him watch this film as a little boy. Of course Chucky’s body isn’t without flaws; in fact carefully studying Chucky’s design is what’s driven Sasori to make so many improvements on his own body. When Orochimaru was still in the Akatsuki these two would watch Child’s Play and it’s sequels, and argue on whether Chucky had found the best path to immortality. One thing that Sasori can’t relate to, however, is Chucky’s desire to transfer his soul back out of a doll and into another human body. Sasori prefers to stay in his doll body for eternity. Orochimaru, however, was very, very intrigued at the idea of putting one’s essence into different bodies, and this movie opened up his mind to hours of research (and eventually trial and error) on the subject.

I was tagged by @energievie and @callivich to answer some fun Gallavich questions!
What’s a fic you’ve read more than once?
There's A Class for This by @sam-loves-seb. It is just so soft and normal and intimate and it just...it hits all the things for me. I love it so much.
What’s a gifset you always have to reblog?
A few scenes - the club kiss and the van kiss are definitely ones I will always want to reblog because they are just so so good. I also love the "you're so sensitive" deleted scene kiss.
What’s a headcanon you can’t stop thinking about?
Mickey exploring his wardrobe options and fashion sense. He clearly has an eye and a feel for it and I think it is something he would enjoy exploring years down the road when he's more comfortable in his identity.
What’s a fanart you love looking at?
All of them, but in particular I really really enjoyed seeing all of the AUgust dress-ups by @suzy-queued, those were so fun, I love them.
What’s an idea you’d love to create if you had the time/inspiration?
I want to write that fashion designer! Mickey AU so bad. I have lots of thoughts that are very scattered and disorganized.
What’s something you’ve discovered since entering this fandom? A new trope you love? A different analysis of the show? Something else?
My opinion on Debbie definitely changed following some analyses here on tumblr. I think I related to Fiona a lot and saw Debbie through Fiona's perspective and that really negatively colored my perspective. I will say that my ire has turned towards the writers, and writers for shows like this in general tbh, for honestly doing a shit job of portraying a sister relationship, even one as parentified as this.
What’s an underrated trope or concept you’d like to see more of?
I'm not sure!
What’s your favourite season? And has this changed after multiple rewatches of the show?
It switches between season 3 and 4...though I do like season 2.
What’s a plot hole you wish had been answered or resolved?
The cartel???? They after Mickey or not???
What scene or moment do you feel isn’t discussed enough?
In the show or in fandom because those are two separate answers. In the show? We all know that one. In fandom...hm. I've seen so many good analyses, let's see. Oh, this is going to ruffle some feathers but Ian going to Trevor after losing a patient on the ambulance and how that paralleled him running to see Mickey, and how different it was at the same time. Mickey immediately softened his demeanor, immediately put himself in a potentially unsafe situation for himself to comfort Ian. Trevor was thinking of himself in that moment, not about Ian, and I think it really encapsulates the differences between the two relationships. (NOTE: I don't think Trevor was a good romantic fit for Ian, I think it would have worked better as a friendship!)
What line/dialogue/description from something else (a poem, a book, a tv show, a movie, or something else) do you feel describes Ian and Mickey’s relationship?
This song - particularly "I wanted more than you could give me, so certain for a 15-year-old, something 'bout you feels like caffeine, pure gold."
I also like this song for Mickey specifically - particularly "I was far to scared to hit him, but I would hit him in a heartbeat now, that's the thing with anger it begs to stick around // It makes you hurt the ones who love you, you hurt them like they're nothing."
What do you think is next for Ian and Mickey post-finale?
Directly post finale I want them to adopt a dog, I think it'd be good for both of them. It can go running with Ian. Snuggle with Mickey. Be in their Christmas cards that Ian INSISTS they get now. For kids...I go back and forth on this, honestly. I think it would depend if Mickey was serious about putting the work into his anger and identity issues. I don't think they should or would rush into parenthood at all, I mean, they're still really young in the finale - 25 and 27. All things going well, I could see them pursuing parenthood in their late 30s tbh.
Thank you for the tag! I am very tired and feeling kinda shy since I haven't been as active as previous - but if you want to do this, feel tagged by me!

I'd love matching pyjamas with Robin, please!
Pairing: Robin Buckley x f!Reader
Genre: fluff
Word count: 2.2k
A/N: This ended up being more about reader and Steve interacting while reader and Robin are established lol, but I like the way it ended up! <3
Tumblr media
“He-hey, there, temp! Happy holidays to you,” Steve half-chuckles, half-sings as he holds out a headband with reindeer antlers on it in both his hands out in front of him, wiggling it from side to side.
“Harrington, what the fuck is this?” you ask, amused disapproval clear in your expression as he sets it on top of your head.
“Whaddaya think? It’s the start of the holiday season! Get into the spirit! Boop!” You can tell Steve is absolutely loving getting to make you look completely ridiculous as he puts a red nose onto you. “Oh, look at you!” He grins wickedly. “Don’t you look - hey, Robin, come look!” He calls over his shoulder. “Doesn’t she look so cute?!”
Your fellow colleague steps out from the back room, leaning on the counter and looking at you with lingering, adoring eyes. “Simply adorable,” she smiles softly.
Though the compliment makes your heart race, you flash a warning look of fear your girlfriend’s way. While she tells you all the time that she’s out to Steve and he took it perfectly well, she understands that you’re still at a place in your own journey through your sexuality that you just don’t feel comfortable coming out to anyone, yet. You hadn’t even meant to come out to Robin, it was only when she'd overheard you selling Scarface to a guy by describing Michelle Pfeiffer in immense detail. You'd always hoped that Robin's sense of style was more than just a quirk, that she were more than just a tomboy. It wasn’t until the third date she’d asked you on that you even realised they were dates.
“Where’s yours?” you ask indignantly, lightly shoving Steve as you walk past him. He pulls a Santa hat out from where he’d shoved the pompom end into his back pocket and places it on his head proudly. You groan at Robin, “Please tell me I’m not going to be subjected to him asking girls if they’ve been nice or naugh-”
“Eight times already,” she answers, exhausted. “I managed to stop the one attempt of a crude joke involving visiting his North Pole before anyone had to get Keith involved,” she rolls her eyes. You simply giggle and start your work, pulling out the rental returns bin to start reshelving them.
Your shift goes as every other one does. Incidental brushes against your girlfriend all the while, each of you sneaking to the other while Steve's back is turned to steal a kiss. Sometimes you do wonder whether Robin hates that she has to hide you from her best friend, but even she will admit from time to time that she has fun deliberately distracting him to get some alone time with you.
Keith eventually calls you all over to inform you all that corporate insists on each branch of Family Video having a holiday get-together. However, since they want it to be a bonding moment between employees only, Keith is opting out since, in his words, "there's not really a point in me going out of my way to go somewhere if there's no babes."
Robin's gaze flickers to you, then back to Keith, looking very offended on your behalf, but you give her a very quick elbow to her side. She pulls a face at you that you can't quite read, though a glance at Steve shows you that he can, which you're not sure how to feel about. "So," Keith's nasal drone brings you back to reality, "since you guys are - well, Steve's the party boy," he snorts with laughter, causing Steve to pull one of his classic 'bitch' faces of annoyed disbelief. You and Robin try desperately to suppress your laughter as Keith continues, "I'm delegating you the responsibility of throwing everyone a party. Alright? Now move out, you’ve got company.” He jerks his head towards the customers just walking in.
“Is he serious?” Robin mutters to you as Steve works whatever he calls ‘charm’ on the customers.
“I don’t think Debbie’s gonna wanna hang out with us when she doesn’t have to, she’d rather be with her kids,” you point out, before grimacing. “And I swear to god, if either of you put me in a situation where I’m forced into Mouthbreather Malcolm’s proximity and I’m not even getting paid to do it -”
“Mouthbreather Malcolm?” Steve asks, amused, as he rejoins your conversation.
“Be thankful that Keith allows you two to work together all the time,” you roll your eyes. “Some of us aren’t so lucky. That’s why I’m always so excited to work a shift with you guys.”
“Oh, that’s why?” Robin asks with a smirk, crossing her arms and looking you up and down suggestively. If Steve weren’t also blatantly standing in front of you, you’d have pinned your girlfriend against the counter and kissed all the air out of her lungs. “No other reason why you like working with us specifically?”
“One of you, sure,” you tease back.
Steve cackles as he shimmies past you, “Sucks to be you, Robin!” before heading over to tidy up a display, muttering along to whatever festive song is playing over the speaker. You and Robin simply exchange those looks once again.
Over the course of the month, you all decide that the best way to spend the $100 holiday party money is by not throwing a party, but rather buying everyone a gift instead. Splitting it between the five of you (“Keith did opt out of whatever we use the party money for, after all,” Robin had pointed out), the others gave you the task of buying Malcolm and Debbie’s gifts. You just bought them both gift cards, assuming they’d appreciate those far more than whatever a handful of barely-legal teenage adults think they’d like. Between the three of you, you all decide to split the gift giving and receiving between all of you, each buying the other two something for no more than $10 each.
You decide that the day of giving will be one where just the older adults are working. All three of you drop their gift cards off (which they’re very grateful for, and the relief they show at not having to open a gift they might not appreciate is not subtle), and then head to Steve’s while his parents are at some big holiday gala, so you can spend the night just hanging out, gorging on pizza and watching whatever you’d all managed to smuggle out of the store without Keith noticing.
Once Steve has opened his gifts from the two of you, as all of you sit on his living room floor, he insists that you and Robin open your gifts from him at the same time. As you do, you simper at how sweet it is that Steve seems to have bought you some really nice pyjamas - until you notice that Robin’s been gifted an identical set.
She looks at you with the same speedy panic-stricken expression that you give her. Steve, seeing this, hurriedly explains, “Alright, okay, listen. Hear me out!” He takes a deep breath out. “First things first, neither of you have told me anything, okay? But, well… Just because I didn’t get into college, it doesn’t mean I’m stupid,” he raises his eyebrows at you both. “So, look. I got you both things to match, so that if you wanted to wear them… You know, together, you can do it here, and I’m… Totally okay than that. More than, in fact. Or, I really have been an idiot and bought you both the same thing, in which case, you can just clown on me,” he shrugs. “I’m, uh, gonna go order that pizza now. If you guys wanna… Exchange your own gifts… Without me.” He nods before getting up and walking out to the kitchen.
Robin shuffles to sit right next to you and rests her head on your shoulder. “See? Knew he’d be cool with it.”
“Yeah,” you say wistfully, moving to plant a kiss amidst her hair as you stroke it. But something still doesn’t feel… Perfect. That’s what Robin deserves. You scratch her head gently to get her attention, “Hey, you wanna get all matchy-matchy with me?”
“It’s so dorky,” you can hear the laughter in her voice. “Absolutely.” Holding your face up to kiss you as she stands, Robin tucks her new pyjamas under her arm and heads out to a bathroom.
You get up, too, but instead go for the kitchen. You stare at Steve’s back as he’s on the phone, preparing yourself for what you’re about to tell him. What you should have told him the moment Robin told you he was good to. The one thing she shouldn’t have had to hide from him. He turns to look at you, confused, as you march up to him, hold his biceps at arms’ length and state, “Steve… I’m gay.”
His face goes on one of his and Robin’s infamous silent journeys. Confusion as to why you’re telling him something he already knows. Realisation that clearly you wanted to actually tell him that yourself. Pride that you felt comfortable enough to tell him. And finally, a casual half-smile with a, “Thanks for sharing.”
“And I really like Robin. Your best friend,” you continue.
“I’m familiar with her work, yes.”
“Shut up,” you sigh jokingly, and he laughs. “I… I’m sorry that I made her hide us from you. And I’ll apologise to her a thousand times more over it, because she always told me you’d be okay, but I was still scared. And I should trust her, because she was right, as always.”
“You know, I kinda figured all along, anyway. Or at least, for a while now,” he half-shrugs.
“What… Told you?” you ask quietly.
He smiles wistfully. “You make her happy. Like, so happy. And whenever you’re not working with us, she wants me to take her straight home, I assume to call you.” You smile bashfully and he continues, amused. “And when you are, well… I don’t think Robin “dropping” Ghostbusters onto the floor by throwing it 5 yards is as “accidental” as she’d make out it was. Ironic choice of words there, am I right?!” He asks you in a silly voice, nudging you with his elbow. “Don’t think I don’t know what you two were trying to do!”
Your face turns bright red as you shake your head and push past him. “I’m going to get changed now, I can’t be around you a minute longer.” Steve’s loud, deliberate laugh follows you up the stairs.
When you re-enter the living room and see Robin, dressed exactly as you, you feel a surge of emotion form deep in your chest. Happiness - more than that, elation. Comfort. Love. Home. You can tell Robin’s going through the same emotions as she looks over at you, too. She waves you over to the couch and you all but pounce on top of her, snuggling into your usual position of big spoon as Steve sets up the first movie of the night.
“So,” Robin mutters, quiet enough to stay out of Steve’s earshot. “You think I’m always right?”
“Subject to change,” you reply back, making her laugh. “Steve tell you I told him?”
“I might have been a little nosey and listened in,” she admits. “I’m proud of you, though.” She reaches for your hand and interlocks your fingers with hers, pulling your arm around to hug her tighter.
That’s when you feel it. The final click. But that’s for a time when Steve’s not in the room.
And so, as if by fate, the doorbell rings, and Steve goes out to greet the pizza guy. The moment he’s gone, you let go of Robin’s hand, to her disgruntlement, and tap her shoulder so that she rolls over to face you. “Hey,” you whisper.
“Hi,” she grins, pressing her lips to yours.
“I love you,” you say against them. She pulls back, looking half-shocked and half-elated. You’re really starting to nail this face language she and Steve have going on. She grins widely at you, and so you repeat, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she beams, leaning back in to kiss you until you’re interrupted by the sounds of fake retching.
You and Robin break away from each other to glare at Steve as he walks into the centre of the room, putting the pizza box down on the table and putting his hands up in defence. “Kidding! I’m kidding. You’re all loved up and it’s adorable and,” he makes an unintelligible sound as he pulls a face and waves a feeble jazz-hand motion, which makes the two of you laugh. “Just come and get your food.”
Your whole life, you’d always felt like something wasn’t right, something you couldn’t put your finger on and that you could never fully explain. When you first realised you were gay, you always assumed that feeling was a never-ending fear that you’d never live the same life that your parents got to. But sitting here, curled up on the couch, matching clothes with your love, and living in this little bubble where at least everyone in the room right now loves and accepts you for who you are, this is it. This is what you feared you’d be missing. You’ve never been happier to be wrong about something.

The next part of my Asexual Rep AU (that I need to come up with a title for)
Tagging my pals @winderlylandchime and @maryp50 so they can see I have posted the next chunk of this fic. I’m so grateful for the advice I've been getting from them as I write.
Over the next week, Justin saw Brian daily. Sometimes he was alone, and sometimes, Debbie’s son was with him. But every time, he insisted on Justin serving him. Justin couldn’t help but laugh at the seemingly absurdity of it. Especially considering Debbie’s warning about the man.
On Thursday night, close to 10 pm, Brian stumbled in alone. He was still wearing his business attire minus a suit jacket. As he sat down at the counter, he loosened his tie and snapped at anyone who’d listen.
“I know this is a big ask considering the establishment, but could I get some decent service?” Bitchy business queen was back like Justin had never seen before.
“I know it’s a big ask, considering who you are, but could I get a please or a thank you tacked onto the end of that?” Justin snarked right back as he flipped a coffee mug over and poured Brian some coffee.
Brian cocked his head and considered Justin a moment before he replied. “You know, most people find my rudeness charming.”
Justin snorted, “Only because they want in your pants.”
He paused and watched Brian’s eyes run the length of his body, clearly assessing him.
“Oh yes, I’ve heard all about the great Brian Kinney. In fact, I’d say most of my customers love you and hate you in equal measure.”
“You know,” Brian grabbed Justin’s wrist, keeping him in place, “it would seem you aren’t one of them. What’s wrong with you? Are you even gay?”
“Well, for one, money doesn’t impress me. I came from money. It doesn’t bring joy.” Justin pulled his hand away, slightly annoyed with Brian for the first time since they’d met.
“For two, as charming as you may think you are, sex isn’t everything in life.” He pulled out his order pad and poised his pencil, waiting for Brian’s order.
“Ah yes, you are so flush with cash you just work here for kicks.” Brian’s words had a bit of bite to them, but Justin wasn’t phased.
“Also, whoever says sex isn’t everything clearly isn’t having it or can’t get any. As attractive as you are and as much as the clientele here look at you like a piece of meat, I can’t fathom how you’d fall into either category.”
Brian paused briefly before he added, “Turkey on whole grain with lettuce, tomato, and no mayo.”
Justin put Brian’s order in the kitchen without another word to the man. Under the surface, he couldn’t believe the audacity Brian had to say the things he did.
“Or maybe…” Justin came back to Brian and picked up their conversation in a huff. “I just don’t want casual sex.”
Brian put his tongue in his cheek and smiled. “You’re young. You’ll soon learn that relationships just cause hurt.”
Justin took a deep breath and turned toward one of the booths to avoid really going off on Brian. He barely knew the guy, so it wasn’t worth it.
Then why do I want to kiss that smug look right off his face?
He took the order and cleaned up the booth next to them. Then he gave the order to the cook and grudgingly picked up Brian’s order.
He set Brian’s plate down with a bit more force than was necessary. As much as he didn’t want to be, Justin was still irritated by Brian’s assumptions.
“One more thing!” Justin gave Brian a steely look, demanding his attention. The older man leaned back slightly and grinned like he was amused by Justin’s frustration.
“I said I came from money. Not that I still have it.” And without another glance, Justin walked away.
He made himself busy for the next half hour and didn’t approach Brian’s spot at the counter until the man had left. On his empty plate sat two twenties. Justin truly didn’t understand this man. He was snippy and rude but then left extravagant tips. Justin knew Debbie had said he was generous, but Justin had a sneaking suspicion that Brian was even more generous with him.
He was still just standing there when Emmett came traipsing in with Ted at his elbow. Justin had met Ted about a week ago and still didn’t know much about the man except that he was an accountant and Emmett’s best friend.
“Hey, baby!” Emmett’s grin lit up the place, which was currently in a lull between nighttime rushes.
“Hey, Em.” Justin pocketed the tip and placed Brian’s payment in the till. He then started to do his end-of-shift routine as he waited for Emmett and Ted to get settled at a booth toward the back.
They appeared to be in a heated discussion. Justin didn’t want to interrupt them, but they were his last table of the night, so he had no choice. As he approached the table, he heard the tail end of whatever disagreement they were having.
“I’m telling you, Em. He’s changed. Things are different now.” Ted looked distressed but firm in his assertion.
“Right, the twinked-out twinky changed his spots just like that.” Emmett scoffed and gave Ted a disgusted look.
“What can I get you guys?” Justin butt in just as he was sure Ted was going to bolt in frustration. His words stopped the man, and he turned his attention to the menu.
“Advice.” Emmett turned himself slightly to face Justin fully and gave the young blonde his most charming look.
“I’m sorry?” Justin was thoroughly confused. What kind of advice could he possibly offer the well-seasoned gay men before him? He barely knew Ted, so there wasn’t a chance he even knew anything helpful. Why would Emmett want his advice on whatever was going on?
“You don’t know this, but about 6 weeks ago, Teddy here went home with a young man named Blake. Blake convinced Ted it was a good idea to try out some substances. Teddy ended up in the hospital and almost died. Now, Blake has come crawling back, and Ted is just letting him live with him, no questions asked.” Emmett paused to take a breath, and Ted jumped in.
“Way to air out my dirty laundry to strangers, Em!”
“Oh, hush. Justin is hardly a stranger.”
“No, he’s just one of your strays. Which makes it a bit hypocritical of you to judge me for helping out Blake.”
Emmett then turned back to Justin and asked, “Justin, my dear, do you think Teddy should be using his well-earned considerable nest egg on helping some twinked-out twinky with housing and food?”
Justin threw up his hands, “I am not getting involved. I can’t have an opinion on this.”
“Thank you!” Ted gave Justin a kind look and then turned his more serious, slightly murderous one onto his best friend. “I’ll take my usual.”
Emmett huffed and rolled his eyes dramatically but then responded, “And I will take a burger with fries. Tomato and lettuce on the side.”
Justin chuckled as he wrote down their orders and then headed toward the kitchen to place them. He shook his head and grinned. He loved Emmett dearly. Of all the people he’d become familiar with since getting this job last month, Emmett was the only one who was interested in Justin not just as the sad, lonely queer kid but also as the artist.
In the last few weeks, he’d been dragging Justin around to various gay establishments. They mostly stuck to Woody’s whenever Emmett wanted him to go out for drinks, and Justin couldn’t find a good enough excuse not to. He knew of all the best shopping establishments to frequent for the best deals. Hell, Emmett had even managed to convince him to purchase a crop top that hugged his shoulders in a way that Justin would never have the confidence to wear in public. He greatly appreciated Emmett’s kindness and Southern charm. He was very much into casual sex, but he never judged Justin for not being interested in taking strangers home from the bars.
As he grabbed their plates of food, Justin glanced at the clock. If he played his cards just right in five minutes, he would be walking out that door. He heard the tinkle of bells, signaling the door had been opened, but one glance showed it was Tad the waiter who would be taking over for Justin. Justin smiled at him and placed Emmett and Ted’s food down.
“What are your plans tonight?” Emmett cocked his head, looking up at Justin.
“Going back to mine and Daphne’s to study for my exam next Monday.” Justin staved off what he was sure was going to be an invitation to go out with Emmett and Ted.
“You should join us for a night of fun at Babylon.” Emmett clapped his hands and bounced excitedly. “It’s the Wet Willy Competition tonight!”
“What?” Justin had no idea what Babylon or a Wet Willy Competition were.
“Babylon is the hottest dance club in Pittsburgh,” Ted said lazily, evidently not matching Emmett’s excitement about the prospect.
“All the hottest gays go there!” Emmett gave Justin his puppy eyes. “You’ll fit right in.”
Justin blushed at the idea that he was amongst ‘the hottest gays.’ But he also couldn’t deny that the thought of dancing sounded energizing. Something he would need if he planned to study or draw at all before his classes tomorrow.
“Do you have a membership?” Ted, ever the pragmatist, asked, finishing up his tuna sandwich.
“Oh, hush. I will be able to get him in using mine.” Emmett grinned and waved his hand in front of Ted.
Twenty minutes later, as they walked down Liberty Avenue toward the club, Emmett reassured Justin once more. He wrapped his arm around the teen and pulled him in close.
“Don’t mind, Teddy. He’s just upset at me about the whole Blake thing.” Emmett’s eyes were blazing with sincerity, so Justin believed him.
“As for Babylon. Prepared to be amazed! The music and men are always on fire. And the thumpa thumpa breathes life into any tired ole queen.” Emmett twirled in front of Justin and Ted with joy emanating from his every pore.
“Look, kid.” Ted grabbed Justin’s wrist and his attention. “Emmett is always so rosy about these kinds of things because he’s never experienced rejection. In all honesty, sometimes it can be too much.”
Justin linked his hand with Ted’s and squeezed. “I’m not worried about rejection.”
“No, of course not,” Ted mumbled.
“I’m just excited to meet more people and find out what a dance club is all about. So, loosen up and have fun!” Justin grinned and quickened his pace to catch up with Emmett a few feet ahead.
“Theodore, loosen up? Don’t count on it.” A familiar voice sounded from behind Justin.
He turned in time to see Ted roll his eyes at Brian and sidestep out of the shoulder drape Brian was aiming for.
“Brian, be nice.” Michael chided from the brunette’s elbow.
Justin wanted desperately to say something, anything. But his brain was currently rebooting after seeing Brian in what he assumed were the man’s club clothes. He wore a tight silvery black buttoned top and pants that looked painted on him. It made him even more gorgeous than his typical suits seen at the diner.
“You know Brian, from what I know about you. I’d say you’re the one who needs to loosen up a little.” Justin smirked and gave the older man a challenging look.
“Oh, my, my.” Emmett flounced up behind Justin and wrapped his arms around the blonde’s shoulders. “Seems to me this young thang has your number, Brian. And he ain’t callin'.”
The two looked at each other and grinned before turning back to see Brian rubbing his hand across his jaw. Emmett planted a soft kiss on Justin’s temple before they approached the bouncer, leaving the rest of the group behind.
“Is he going to be mad at you?” Justin leaned into Emmett to shout into his ear once they were inside amongst the too-loud music and crowds.
“Who? Brian?” Emmett shook his head, amused. “Nah. He actually appreciates people who knock him down a bit sometimes. Keeps him humble.”
“Brian? Humble?” Justin wasn’t sure it was possible.
“At least it’s better than being a stalker.” Brian’s voice tickled Justin’s other ear. “Why are you here?”
He didn’t respond until they were situated at the bar with a drink in hand. Then he turned to Brian and told him, “Emmett invited me. Plus, it’s a public establishment. I have just as much right to be here as you.”
Then Justin pulled his t-shirt off and tossed it at Emmett. He walked onto the dance floor half-naked and found the experience to be exhilarating. He loved the way the sound waves from the music felt on his skin and how the other men danced so close he could feel their heat. Justin threw back his head and let the music and magic consume him. This is what being gay was supposed to feel like. For the first time ever, Justin felt entirely one with his mind, body, and spirit. He was meant to live this life of unadulterated happiness.
Before long, he attracted a couple of beefy men who obviously worked out often. Their muscles rippled as they moved their torsos closer and closer to Justin’s bare chest. He didn’t care that they were obviously aiming for sex. He just wanted to know what it felt like to have another man find him attractive and appreciate his body in an artistic way. He was finding that on the dance floor of Babylon.
Suddenly one of the guys reached for the fastener of his jeans, and Justin fumbled backward. But, being surrounded on both sides, his movement only made matters worse. He tried to shove both men off of him, but they didn’t seem to take the hint. It was as if his movements were egging them on. Justin could feel panic starting to rise in his throat.
And then, like a silent angel, Brian was there. Without a word, he shoved his arms between each of the guys and Justin’s body. The businessman’s arms were now bracketing Justin, boxing him in, but this time he wasn’t afraid. Soon enough, the other two men moved on to other guys further along in the crowd. Justin closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
While he recalibrated, Brian adjusted himself so that he stood facing Justin and his arms lay limply but possessively on the blonde’s shoulders. They continued to dance, Brian silently reassuring Justin by never moving his arms away.
*****
They didn’t speak of that night the next day or any day after that. In fact, Justin and Brian’s “relationship” returned to snarking at each other over the food Justin served daily. It was as if Babylon hadn’t happened at all. In time, even Justin stopped constantly thinking of how Brian had protected him each time he saw the guy.
One particularly stressful Wednesday night, Justin was rushing around the diner trying to keep all the patrons happy when Brian, Emmett, Ted, and Michael all showed up for dinner. Justin motioned to Emmett that he would be there shortly. Then, he went over to Debbie at the counter and heaved a sigh.
“What a day! I’ve only been here two hours and already I’m exhausted.” Justin grinned at the woman, but his eyes reflected his true feelings.
“You said it, sunshine. Today has been the busiest day we’ve seen in a long time. I better go deal with them.” She motioned toward the table where the group sat.
Justin patted her shoulder, “Don’t bother. I’ll handle it.” Then in a small whisper, “Besides, you know Brian is going to ask for me anyway.”
“I don’t understand that man.” Debbie looked toward her son and his best friend fondly.
“He definitely is an enigma.” Justin agreed before he trudged over to their table.
“What can I get you guys?” Justin tried to hold back a yawn, but it escaped anyway.
“Tired, baby?” Emmett commented, the concern dripping from his voice.
“Don’t worry about it. Just a long day. Had classes until 5, and then my shift here started at 6. I’m used to it.” Justin shrugged off Emmett’s concern and gave them a pointed look with his order pad ready.
The others at the table were busy giving Justin their order, so they didn’t notice the way Brian’s eyes turned soft as he looked Justin over. But Justin did. It was the first time since that night a few weeks ago that Brian seemed to show any interest in Justin outside of being his waiter.
“I’ll have turkey on…” Brian started to order, but Justin finished it for him.
“Whole grain. Tomato and lettuce with no mayo.”
“Word perfect,” Brian responded gently. There wasn’t his usual snark. As Justin walked away, he realized he missed it.
He was still distracted by Brian’s behavior a few minutes later. Debbie came up behind him and gently held the back of his head.
“What’s got you thinking so hard you don’t even hear me?” She smacked her gum and smiled at him.
“Sorry, Deb. It’s nothing.” Justin shook his head. He avoided bringing up Brian around Debbie as much as he possibly could. He knew she had mixed feelings about him, but even now, a few weeks into his tenure on Liberty Avenue, he knew most of her negative opinions on Brian were misguided.
Thinking better of it, Justin made an executive decision. He needed to get outside and breathe some fresh air. Clearing his head of his confusion over Brian was in order considering how flustered he currently was.
“Actually, Deb. Could I ask you a favor? When their order comes up, could you deliver it? I need to step out for a quick break.” Justin gave his best tired eyes, knowing they would work on the motherly woman.
“Sure thing, sunshine. Take all the time you need. Just be back in 15.” She winked at him with a chuckle.
Justin grinned, took off his apron, and then stepped through the back door to the alleyway. He paced back and forth between the door and the dumpster. He couldn’t figure Brian out, and that confused him. Up until now, Justin had prided himself on never having complicated feelings or emotions about anyone in his life. The closest he had ever come was with his father, but their recent exchange cured him of any love he had left for the man. No, Justin was someone who could look at a person, get to know them, and have a strong sense of who they were. But not with Brian.
The back door opened suddenly, and there he was in his tight black tee and jeans. Ready to go to Babylon with his friends. But instead of his usual snark or disdain, Brian had a face of concern.
Justin stopped his pacing and took a deep breath. “Why didn’t you snap at me or make a rude comment? I need you to make a rude comment!”
Brian chuckled and licked his lips. “All this time, you’ve been begging me to be nicer, and for once, I didn’t give you a snide comment about finishing my sentence like we are some married couple, and you flip out.”
Justin started to pace once more. He couldn’t stand still, and he couldn’t look at Brian for longer than a few seconds in fear that he might do something rash and impulsive, like kiss the guy. So, instead, he paced.
“I really don’t understand you. You are the only person within the confines of Pittsburgh who acts like they detest me. So much so that I start to question whether or not you’re even gay. Because who doesn’t want this?”
“Because I don’t want to immediately jump in your pants, you assume I’m not gay or that there’s something wrong with me? Could it be that you just aren’t my type?” Justin paused his pacing to give Brian a challenging look.
“I’m everyone’s type.” Brian shrugged.
With that, all the confusion and fight left Justin’s body, and he laughed. He shook his head at the profound conceitedness that was the Brian Kinney and full-on laughed. Justin laughed so hard he cried, and then he walked past Brian’s befuddled expression and went back to work. His confusion over the man was all but dissipated the moment he’d asserted his assumed godliness.

it gets overlooked but one of the things i love about svetlana is that she was always willing to help even if she didn’t really know the person all that well. she asks kev who he has to help him with the babies before she leaves the milkovich house and offers to give him a hand. she takes an interest in debbie and asks her why she needs a job after kev turns her down. she offers to get fiona a job even though she knows that fiona looks down on her.
you can argue about the quality of the advice that she gives and whether or not she went about trying to help all of these people in the best way, but the point i’m trying to make is that she cared and that she was often selfless despite certain people’s insistence that she was just a user. she had nothing to gain by helping any of these people whom she barely knew and/or weren’t kind to her but she still did it

Henry Danger Reader Insert | Captain Man x Reader: SEASON 1
Episode 9: Birthday Girl Down
~Henry's house~
Henry, Charlotte, Jasper and one of their other friends from school were all sat on Henry's couch, studying the periodic table.
"Okay..." Charlotte showed her PearPad to Jasper, which had a 'B' symbol on it.
"Boron, okay....atomic number five, category metalloid." He recalled, feeling proud that his chemistry revision was finally sinking in.
"Doesn't your grandfather have metalloids?" Henry looked at Charlotte, thinking that it was a disease.
"Yeah, he can't sit down." She replied without looking up from her tablet. This time, it was Jasper's turn to test Henry, showing him a 'Cd' symbol.
"Canadium, a person from Canada...mium. Personality, Canadian-ish." He guessed incorrectly.
"It's cadmium. Atomic number 48. Category, transition metal." Charlotte answered for him, being right, of course, because it was Charlotte.
"Ohhhh, and once again Charlotte gets the answer right." They all started to clap sarcastically, laughing with each other.
"Yeah..too bad I don't know the atomic number for idiot boys." She sassed, not letting them get her down. They all shouted again at her burn, as she put her PearPad back in her bag.
"So, hey, what are we all doing Saturday night?" Henry asked his friends. They all looked around awkwardly, giving him the suspicion that they knew something he didn't.
"You guys wanna play miniature golf?" He asked enthusiastically.
"No." Was the answer he got from all of them.
"You wanna play enormous golf?" He said as a joke, but they still gave no answer.
"Hello?" He looked at them, wondering why they were so quiet.
"He's gonna find out." Charlotte sighed to Jasper.
"Well, I'm not telling him." He told her, putting his hands in the air.
"What? Come on, no secrets. Flashback?" Henry was eager to know what was going on, so he looked to the boy sat quietly on the end of the sofa.
"Why you asking me? This is the first time I've even been invited to your house." He said as an excuse.
"Ugh, alright." Charlotte gave in when Henry looked at her, so she returned to her seat next to him.
"Henry... We're all going to Debbie Putch's birthday party." She revealed to the blond boy, making him look around in confusion, only to see them nod in confirmation.
"But... I didn't get an invitation." He said, making them feel awkward.
"Is that a big surprise?" Jasper asked his best friend, who looked back at him, offended.
"You know why," Flashback added. Henry got up from his seat in frustration.
"It's not fair!" He said to his friends.
"You almost killed her." Jasper reminded him.
"No, I didn't." Henry insisted as the doorbell rang.
"Who's here?" Flashback asked.
"Our food," Henry told him in an annoyed tone and he went to see the delivery guy.
"Sushi Dushi!" The man said in a cheery voice, holding out a large platter of sushi to Henry.
"Here's my mom's credit card." He gave the piece of plastic to the guy and accepted the food from him.
"Don't be mad." Charlotte tried to calm him down, as he brought it over to the coffee table.
"I am mad." He snapped back.
"Well, you can't blame Debbie," Jasper told him.
"I blame Debbie. I blame her parents and I blame anyone else who thinks it was my fault." Henry exclaimed in anger.
"Hey." The sushi guy interrupted.
"Yeah?"
"What are you so ticked off about?" The dude asked.
"Why do you wanna know?" They all looked at him with weirded-out expressions.
"Hey man, just because I deliver sushi, doesn't mean I don't have curiosities." The man whined back.
"Tell him what happened." Charlotte looked to her friend.
"No, I've already told the story, like, a thousand times." Henry didn't want to remember that unfortunate night.
"Flashback? Tell the guy how Henry almost killed Debbie." Jasper asked the boy on his right.
'All right. It all went down at Debbie's last birthday party. And it almost was her last." He smirked and leaned forward, making the delivery man sit down in amazement.
"Tell me more."
"Okay, try to visualise this. Debbie was turning 13 years old, and she was getting everything ready for her party, way up on the roof of her parent's condo."
~Flashback~
"It looked like it was going to be the best birthday party ever."
"Mom, this is going to be the best birthday party ever," Debbie said to her mom in excitement.
"It will be if we get everything ready." Her mom put her hands on her daughter's arms.
"Excuse me, I'd like to get some pics of the kids helping me set up?" She said, grabbing the party photographer, who quickly started taking photos of everyone on the roof.
"Okay, all the balloons have been blown up. What else can we do?" Charlotte came over to her and reported how everything was going.
"Uh... let's see. Oooh, why don't you and the boys check out the ball machine and make sure it works?" She suggested, pointing at the machine by the doors.
"Sure. You guys, let's make sure this ball thing works!" Charlotte yelled to Jasper and Oliver Pook. They grabbed a bat and Charlotte put a ball into the tube.
"Set the ball speed nice and slow. Level two." Jasper told her, not wanting the ball to injure someone. The machine fired, but Oliver didn't even swing. Sydney clapped excitedly though.
"Anyone see where it went?" Oliver said. Jasper ran over to the edge of the roof snd saw the ball hit a car, which then hit another car.
"You hit that Prius!" He yelled in horror, watching the accident unfold. The door opened and in came Henry, dragging a whiny Piper behind him.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late." He greeted the rooftop.
"I wanna go to the Pear store!" Piper screamed at her brother, who turned to Debbie.
"Later. This is my little sister, Piper." He introduced them.
"Oh, hi, Piper." The teen girl smiled at her, but Piper just pulled a face at her.
"Sorry I brought her, but I had to babysit tonight." He explained to Debbie.
"Like I wanna be here?" His sister retorted at him.
"Aw, I'm sure you'll have a--" Debbie's mom was interrupted as Piper shoved her phone into her face.
"Look at my phone!"
"The screen's broken." Debbie immediately noticed.
"No kidding, girl." Piper said sarcastically.
"Hey Debbie, want to come hit a ball?" Jasper butted in and the birthday girl happily accepted. Mrs Putch called Charlotte to help her with the gift bags, leaving Henry with his sister.
"Henry, go work the ball machine," Charlotte told him.
"Okay, I'm just going to grab a chip." Henry agreed as Piper struggled with her phone.
"I can't read my stupid screen!" She yelled, flicking the cracked screen and squinting at it.
"Okay, get ready, birthday girl." Jasper smiled at Debbie, who was preparing to swing the bat in her hand.
"Do it, Henry." The curly-haired boy called to his friend, who ran back to the ball machine.
"All right, here it comes!" He pressed the button and the ball flew it at lightning speed.
"And that's when things went real bad for Debbie." The ball hit Debbie square in her chest, forcing her backwards and over the edge of the roof. Screaming on the way down, she landed on a dog, as her friends and mother ran to the ledge. They looked down and saw Debbie groaning in pain, a dog walker looking up at them in horror and confusion.
"Stop taking pictures and call 9-1-1!" Mrs Putch yelled at the photography, who quickly ran off. She looked at Henry.
"How did this happen?" She asked him in a shrill voice.
"Henry made the ball go at like, 90 miles an hour." Jasper pointed at the ball machine.
"What...me?" Henry looked flabbergasted at the accusations.
"Henry, you set the ball speed to 11." The distraught mother said to him after checking the machine.
"No, I didn't!" The blond boy insisted.
"Henry, why would you do that?" Oliver Pook blamed him.
"Charlotte?" Henry looked to his friend for support.
"I set it to two." She explained, which didn't help Henry's case.
"And you were the only one standing near the machine," Sydney added.
"But I..." Henry stuttered, not knowing what to say.
"Security!" Debbie's mother called the guards, wanting the teen gone.
"I didn't do anything!" Was all Henry could protest, as two men came and dragged him out of the building, kicking and screaming.
~End of flashback~
"And then ol' Henry got kicked out of the party before it ever got started." Flashback finished the story for the Sushi Dushi guy, who had now sat down at the coffee table and was eating with the kids.
"'Cause Henry's the one who set the ball machine to 11. Amen." Flashback looked back down to his sushi, as Henry protested.
"It wasn't me." He tried to tell them.
"He says it was you." The delivery man said.
"Are you meant to be eating our sushi?" Henry looked at him confused.
"No, I'm not supposed to be." The dude just shrugged with his mouth full.
"Henry, you might feel better if you just admit that you did it," Jasper said to the boy on his left. Henry grabbed his chopsticks and snapped them in half with a scowl on his face.
"You guys see the rage in this kid?" Jasper said to the group.
"Where I come from, a man who knocks a pretty girl off a roof, on her birthday, is no man." The sushi man said, which made Henry feel even worse.
"Will you tell these guys that I didn't set the machine to 11?" He tried to get Charlotte on his side.
"I can't." She told him.
"Why not?"
"'Cause, you did it." Charlotte looked at the sushi guy, so Henry broke her chopsticks too.
~The Man Cave~
Henry stumbled from the elevator, seeing Ray at the back of the Man Cave and (y/n) sat on the couch.
"Hey, you called me?" The boy looked at his boss.
"Yeah, check out what's in that bin." Ray pointed to a black box on top of a table near the elevator.
"Okay." Henry opened the lid and saw that the box was full of underwear, shirts, pants, but mainly underwear.
"What is..." Henry looked at him in disgust, as (y/n) looked over from where she was sat.
"I want you to do my laundry." The man said in a pleasant voice, making Henry immediately drop the underwear back in the bin. Okay, he was gonna have to bleach his fingers after this.
"Ew, no!"
"Raymond! Why would you do that to him?" (y/n) threw her head back in annoyance. Suddenly, a beeping noise went off, only Henry had never heard it before.
"What does that sound mean?" The boy asked his boss.
"That we have a delivery," Ray told him, as a pizza box came down the tube.
"Huh." Ray went to pick up the food, as (y/n) came over, her curiosity getting the better of her.
"Did you order a pizza?" She asked Henry, knowing that Ray hadn't as they had been together all morning and she'd had rather a heavy lunch so the fact that they now had unknown food deliveries was odd.
"No." Henry denied. Opening the box, Ray smiled at the two and started to read the note written on the box.
"Hey, get this. "Dear Captain Man, our daughter, Debbie, is having her birthday party Saturday night."" Henry groaned at the mention of the party, feeling like it was following him everywhere he went.
"Oh no, Debbie?" He complained, groaning at the thought of the girl and how she and her parents hated his guts.
"Shhh. "We're inviting some of Debbie's favourite celebrities, including you and Miss Swellview." Ohhhh, she's so hot." Ray squealed looking at his friends, but he failed to see how dejected (y/n) looked at the mention of the beauty queen. The thought of Ray spending an entire evening with the beautiful woman made her feel small and inferior, like she was at the bottom of the pile, the last person he'd ever want to go out with since he had models and pageant wives throwing themselves at his feet.
"Will you please stop reading the box?" Henry asked him, not wanting to hear more about Debbie, or see the woman next to him sad.
"No. So, if you'll agree to come to Debbie's party, you may cash the enclosed check for twelve thousand dollars. Whoa, look at this check!" He said holding it out, but (y/n) was too upset to care about the injection of cash into their bank account, so she didn't share his happiness nor did she give the cheque much attention.
"It has pizza grease on it." She said in a monotone voice.
"I know." Ray smiled back, not realising she was in a bad mood.
"Fine, go to her party with every other kid in my class except me," Henry whined.
"Why aren't you invited?" (y/n) put her hand on his shoulder.
"'Cause I was at Debbie's birthday party last year and everyone thinks I shot her in the face with a rubber ball and knocked her off the roof. Onto a dog." He explained and the young woman looked at him with sympathy whilst Ray munched on a pizza slice.
"Oh, yeah. I remember hearing about that on the news. You did that?" Ray asked him, his best friend frowning at how happy he seemed.
"No! Everyone just thinks it was me." He insisted on his innocence.
"Henry, it's just me, (y/n) and you here." Ray walked towards the kid.
"So?" The boy asked confused.
"Why'd you shoot Debbie in the face?" Ray wanted to know, putting the pizza in his mouth. (y/n) and Henry groaned together.
"I didn't. Man, even you don't believe me." Henry couldn't believe that his boss didn't think he was telling the truth, the guy counted on him in life or death situations.
"I believe you." (y/n) told him, which made him feel slightly better.
"Do you want me to believe you?" Ray asked the boy.
"Yeah," Henry replied.
"Can I feel your head with my truth fingers?" The man questioned him.
"Sure you can-- feel my what with your what?" The teen looked extremely weirded out.
"Does this mean I have to go in the back and get everything ready?" (y/n) looked at Ray in annoyance.
"Yeah." He smiled at her, but she just glared back. He was really ticking her off today.
~
Having set the machine up, (y/n) motioned for Henry to sit down in the red spongy chair, as Ray pulled on the special gloves.
"Is this gonna be weird?" Henry asked as the woman pressed a few settings on the screen.
"No," Ray said from behind him.
"Yes, it is." (y/n) deadpanned.
"No, it's not," Ray said in an unusually stern tone, at which (y/n) tutted. Henry could feel the tension between them, and it wasn't comfortable to sit in-between.
"Okay." Ray lifted up his gloved hands, the fingertips covered in glowing censors. He moved past (y/n) without a word.
"Now, I'm going to rub my finger nodules all over your head and face," Ray said, as the woman did some final checks.
"So, what would be weird to you?" She said with an irritated voice, but the man just ignored her. Henry decided that he hated it when they fought. He wanted them to go back to their silly, oblivious selves who were hopelessly in love with each other, even if they'd never admit it to themselves, let alone each other.
"See, these blinky things read human brainwaves, like a lie detector but way more sophisticated," Ray explained how it worked to Henry.
"Whatever, just do it." Henry settled back into his chair, ready for the test to begin.
"All right, we're ready." (y/n) pressed the go button and Ray placed his hands on Henry's head, rubbing them over his scalp.
"Think about Debbie's birthday party," Ray said, working his fingers on the boy's head.
"Debbie's birthday party," Henry repeated slowly, his brainwaves picking up on the machine.
"One year ago." Ray carried on.
"One year ago," Henry repeated.
"When a ball knocked her off the roof." (y/n) scanned his results, and so far everything was normal.
"His heart rate is spiking." She reported.
"Off the roof."
"Because you changed the ball speed from 2 to 11." Ray looked at his friend's back. He hated it when they weren't on good terms, even though he didn't know why she was so upset.
"No, I did not," Henry said truthfully.
"Why do you tell lies?" Ray rubbed his hands faster over the teen's hair.
"I don't tell lies." Henry insisted.
"Brainwaves say he's telling the truth." (y/n) said over her shoulder.
"Do you feel pretty when you tell lies?" Ray asked him, and the woman furrowed her eyebrows at his odd question, but she remained quiet.
"You said this wouldn't get weird." Henry's humour wasn't prohibited by the machine, and Ray quickly ended the test, leaning over (y/n)'s shoulder to see the results.
"I believe you." He said to Henry.
"Really?" The boy asked with a joyful voice.
"Yeah." His boss smiled.
"Told you he was telling the truth." (y/n) piped up, but Ray still wasn't talking to her. He didn't want to be on the receiving end of her sharp tongue, so he thought it would be best to just say nothing.
"But that doesn't mean everyone will." Ray continued.
"So you felt my face for nothing," Henry complained.
"No. Now, we're going to find out the truth." (y/n) said, walking over to them after turning off the machine.
"But you both know already that I didn't do it," Henry replied.
"Yeah, but to know the full truth we've got to find out who did do it. That's the key slice of truth we need to complete the entire truth pie." Ray said, looking thoughtful.
"Ooooh, can we get some actual pie?" Henry asked, smiling up at his boss.
"I like the way you think about pie." Ray pointed a finger at him, as (y/n) felt her annoyance building again. Man, she was having just one of those days.
"Focus." She slapped both of them on the shoulder, bringing them back onto the problem at hand.
"So, how do we find out who really did change the ball speed from 2 to 11?" Henry looked at them both, the adults thinking over the situation.
"Easy. We're gonna dress up like foreign filmmakers and interview everyone on that roof when Debbie's face got smacked by the ball."
"And then we eat pie," Henry commented.
And then we eat pie." Ray nodded with him.
"Wow, Holmes, how do you come up with these brilliant plans?" (y/n) said in passing, as she walked away from the two and went through the sprocket, needing the comfort of her bed.
"What's up with her?" Ray looked at Henry with a perplexed face.
"Dude, you're so stupid." Henry just looked at him in disbelief.
~The next day, Swellview high~
Henry and Ray had donned ridiculous disguises. Wearing dark hats and tinted glasses, they had taken to speaking in strange, German accents. Charlotte looked at them with a bored expression.
"And vhere vere you vhen Debbie flew off zhe roof-us? Ray asked her.
"Yah, vhere vere you?" Henry repeated, his accent not as good but the effort was there.
"VHERE?" Ray shouted through his megaphone.
"I know it's you, guys" She sighed at them, seeing through their pathetic costumes.
"Vhat guys?" Henry asked her.
"Ve are German filmmakers." Ray tried to say, but it didn't convince her.
"Yah, ve German." Henry nodded with his boss.
"Ve like veiner schnitzel." The man spoke.
"We also like to say veiner schnitzel." Henry joked.
"Veiner schnitzel." Ray let the words roll off his tongue.
"Yah, veiner schnitzel." Henry loved that phrase.
"I know, you're Henry and Ray. P.S, your accents are terrible. Does (y/n) know you're doing this?" She asked the two.
"They're fighting, will you just answer our questions?" Henry took off his glasses, as Ray's stomach dropped at the mention of (y/n). She hadn't spoken to him last night when he got back from his crime fighting, and he was missing the familiarity of his best friend.
"We have a lot of these interviews to do." He snapped.
"Go ahead." Charlotte felt the need to drop the subject of the young woman, sensing it was a touchy subject.
~Back to the Man Cave~
"Okay, vhere vere you vhen Debbie flew off zhe roof-us?" Ray interviewed her.
"Well, Henry and Ray..." Charlotte's interview was one of several on the monitors inside the Man Cave.
"I was helping Debbie's mom with the gift bags, I was nowhere near the ball machine." Her voice came through the speakers.
"Do you think ve can believe her?" Ray said to Henry, using his German accent.
"Dude, it's just us and (y/n) here. You can drop the accent." Henry smiled at him, and the woman looked at the boy when she heard her name.
"Geez, ma, why you always got to pee in my skeezits?" Ray whined at him, making (y/n) smile behind his back. She'd calmed down in the time they had been to the school and come back, but Ray still seemed to be on edge around her. She just needed the right time to apologise.
"I'm trying to prove I'm innocent." Henry reminded him.
"All right. Play the section from video four again." Ray replied, getting ready to write ideas down.
"Vhere vere you vhen Debbie vas knocked off the roof?" German Ray said onscreen to Jasper.
"Yah, vere youuuu?" Jasper looked at them weirdly but answered the question anyway.
"I was on the roof." He stated.
"Achtung!"
"Gesundheit!" The superhero duo exclaimed in frustration.
"Video three," Ray said to Henry, having seen enough of Jasper.
"Yeah, I've always like Debbie. Except for one time in fourth grade, she told on a teacher that me and Sydney were eating bugs. That made me feel hatred." Ray and (y/n) screwed their faces up in disgust, as the older man wrote down a few notes about Oliver Pook.
"Okay, first, I only chewed the bugs. I did not swallow. And anyway, Henry's the one who changed the ball speed." Sydney Birnbaum said, following up on what Oliver said.
"No, I didn't!" The teen piped up, shouting at his classmate onscreen.
"Video six." (y/n) made him move on before he could get any angrier.
"NO, I DIDN'T CHANGE THE STUPID BALL SPEED!" Piper yelled at the camera, making the woman wince. Taking the pen off of Ray, she noted down 'Brat' under Piper's name, making him smile. Finally, things were beginning to calm down between them.
"Get out of my face!" Piper slammed the door, so Henry swiped to the next clip.
"Look, I felt really bad when Debbie fell off the roof, even though she used to make fun of my bucket collection. I'm a bucketeer!" Jasper flashed his badge at the camera, and Ray made sure to write 'bucket' on the board.
"Okay, I guess I felt a little bit jealous when Debbie won the spelling bee last year. But I'm over it. That should have been my trophy!" Charlotte revealed her anger to the camera.
"Is that vhy you changed zhe ball speed?" Ray quizzed the screen back on Oliver.
"I wanna talk to a lawyer." He said in his usual flat tone.
"Video 15," Ray called out.
"I... I know nothing about any of this. Can someone get my manager, please? I don't think these guys are even German." Some mystery guy called Nathan stuttered as he came on screen.
"Hey, he's cute." (y/n) smiled at the screen, checking the guy out. Ray angrily wrote an exclamation mark on the board, not liking how (y/n) looked at him.
"Oh please, he's a foetus." Ray scoffed, but Henry quickly switched off the screen. Ray realised what time it was and quickly came up with a lie that would allow him to leave.
"So I'm going to... I got to go buy some socks." Ray checked his watch, trying to sneak off to the party.
"Socks? Right now?" (y/n) asked him, she wanted to make up with him and she couldn't do that if he was buying socks.
"Yeah, it's an emergency." Ray slowly started walking backwards.
"But we still haven't figured out who made Debbie fly off the roof." Henry pointed out, not understanding why Ray wanted to leave so urgently.
"But, hey! You still got that thumb drive with all the pics from the party. Check those for evidence." Ray hoped that would make him feel better, but it didn't.
"Are you going to the party?" (y/n) questioned him, putting the pieces together when she remembered that it was Saturday evening.
"No, check the pics." Ray laughed off her question.
"Okay." She and Henry didn't sound too convinced, but they started to flick through the photos. Whilst they were preoccupied, Ray took his gum tube out and popped a gumball. Putting it into his mouth, he began to blow and then sneaked towards the tube once he had transformed.
"HEY!" (y/n) shouted at him as she turned around, knowing the only time he was quiet was when he was up to no good.
"I knew it. I knew you were going to Debbie's party." Henry yelled at him too, and they stalked towards Ray.
"Miss Swellview's gonna be there!" Ray wailed. He wanted to be around other girls, so he could take his mind off how (y/n) would never go out with a guy like him. The friendzone was where he lived and he hated it, so he might as well knock on other doors.
"You better not go! Think of Henry's feelings." (y/n) warned him with a pointed finger, still hating the idea of him being all over the beauty queen.
"Okay, I won't go," Ray mumbled and shuffled his feet.
"Good." Henry dragged (y/n) back to the computer by her wrist. With their backs turned again, Ray stepped back into place and hit his belt, causing the tube to come down.
"Up the tube." He whispered as the two looked at him again in horror.
"RAYMOND!" (y/n) shouted after him, but it was no use.
"Hey! Where I come from, a man who lies about socks is no man!" Henry yelled too, but he just let out a sigh when he knew that Ray was long gone.
"He really pisses me off sometimes." (y/n) grumbled under her breath, as she and Henry plodded back to the computer.
"I suppose we should check the pics." He said to her in a bored tone and plopped down into the computer chair. He scrolled through the photos, most of them just selfies, but then something caught (y/n)'s eyes.
"Wait, wait, wait! Go back to that last one!" She said, and Henry flicked backwards, not seeing what she saw.
"What?" He asked with his eyes squinted.
"Look, those two pictures. See something peculiar?" She smirked down at him and pointed at the screen. Henry's eye's widened in realisation and he smiled up at her.
"Oh my god, we got to get to that party." He said, swiftly getting up from his chair.
"We?" The young woman's eyebrows rose.
"Yeah, you gotta talk to Ray. Straighten things out." He said as he downloaded the photos to his phone.
"Like he'll be able to hear me over Miss Swellview's giggling." She said bitterly.
"You're his best friend, he'll listen to you." Henry insisted, and they walked to the tubes.
"He irritates the hell outta me." She told him as the tubes fell down.
"You love him," Henry smirked at her.
"Shut up!" (y/n) blushed and tried to deny it, but Henry just gave her a coy grin.
"Up the tube!" They shot upwards, with the hope that they could prove Henry's innocence and patch up a friendship.
~Debbie's party~
The party was buzzing, as Ray posed for photos with all the kids. There was a trampoline at the back of the floor, with Jasper and Charlotte bouncing on it. It was a dangerous spot to leave it, so close to the edge, but no one seemed to care.
"Excuse me, Captain Man?" Mr and Mrs Putch walked up to the superhero.
"Yes, hello, citizens." He greeted them.
"We're Debbie's parents." Mr Putch introduced them.
"And this is Debbie, our birthday girl. She's so excited that you're here." The young girl rushed over, excited to meet her idol.
"Well, it's great to meet you, Debbie, and your wealthy parents." Ray smiled, knowing that his appearance tonight meant that he was in line for $12,000.
"Oh, don't you remember? You and I...We met a long time ago." The blonde lady smirked at him, her husband frowning at the new knowledge.
"We did?" Ray had flirted and gone out with so many women in his 33 years of living, he wasn't sure which one Debbie's mom was.
"What?" Mr Putch looked at his wife with a frown, the information apparently being a surprise to him.
"Yeah, remember the Swellview rodeo? I was a waitress and after the rodeo, you invited me back to--" Her story made the memory click together in Ray's mind.
"Ohhhh, yes. It's so great to see you again, here with your husband." The superhero felt awkward, but suddenly, everyone's eyes were on Henry and (y/n) as they came through the door. Ray's smile fell when he saw the two asking the DJ for the mic. He recalled how he left them in the Man Cave to come party, and how distraught the girl's face was as he went up the tube.
Henry snatched the mic from the DJ's hand, after (y/n) gave him some very select words.
"Hey! Everyone! Over here! Hello?" The teen called out to the crowd, and everyone looked at the two colleagues. For once in her life, (y/n) didn't feel nervous in front of the crowd. She knew she and Henry were in the right, and they were in the wrong.
"That's Henry Hart."
"Why is he here? And who's that girl?" Debbie and her mother objected.
"What happened with you and Captain Man after the rodeo?" Mr Putch asked his wife, wanting to know just how far they'd gone.
"Okay, I know everyone's freaked out to see me here 'cause of what happened last year." Henry started off.
"Sing Wrecking Ball!" Oliver Pook shouted at him, and (y/n) looked at him with a weirded-out face.
"No, we're not here to sing." (y/n) told him, pulling the microphone in Henry's hands to her lips.
"Yeah, we're here 'cause you all think I did something that I didn't do." The boy carried on from her.
"You were the only one standing by the ball machine!" Debbie yelled at him, and the people around her vocally agreed her.
"Hey, Henry! You got to try some of these meatballs!" Jasper said to him through a mouthful of food.
"Look, I get why you all thought I was the one who turned up the ball speed, but maybe it wasn't me. Maybe it was someone else. Like Charlotte." The crowd gasp at the accusation.
"She was always jealous ever since Debbie beat her in the Swellview spelling bee." (y/n) told them.
"Well, you all know that trophy should've been mine." Charlotte hissed to the crowd.
"Or, it could've been Jasper." Henry pointed to the boy who was still preoccupied with the meatballs.
"Who's never forgotten that Debbie used to mock his buckets." (y/n) decided she was the one who got to spill the tea.
"Never forget," Jasper said to Debbie as he ate another ball.
"Or maybe, it could've been Piper." Henry wasn't beneath accusing his own sister.
"Hey, I didn't even want to come to this party last year. Or this year. What am I doing here?" The little girl complained.
"Or maybe, it was Sydney or Oliver." The boys looked petrified at the allegation.
"They got detention after Debbie told the teacher that they were eating bugs." (y/n) looked to the crowd, who then stared at the gross boys.
"The point is, we know who really changed the ball speed and knocked Debbie off the roof. And we have proof!" The two smiled at the crowd and gave each other a high five when the crowd burst into a gossiping chatter.
"Then show us!" Debbie snapped.
"We will, girl, chill!" (y/n) growled back, not liking how bratty the birthday was being.
"But first, we're gonna go get ourselves a meatball. We'll be back after a short break. And then, everybody's going to know the truth!" Henry shouted into the mic, wanting to keep them all in suspense.
"Sing Call Me Maybe, lady!" Oliver yelled to (y/n).
"I'M NOT SINGING!" She screamed, making Henry grabbed her wrist and drag her to the snack table. Stuffing a few meatballs in his mouth, he looked up at the young woman and wondering why she wasn't eating. Following her eyes across the busy floor, he saw Ray talking to Miss Swellview.
"How can I apologise when all he can focus on is her?" She mumbled with glossy eyes.
"Just go up to him and say "Hey Captain Man! Can I bask in your awesomeness and speak with you for a moment?". And then he'll be all yours!" Henry joked at her, and she took in a deep breath.
"Are you sure he doesn't hate me?" he looked at the boy in his eyes.
"Yeah! He lo--knows you care about him and that you were having a rough day." Henry corrected himself before (y/n) could hear his mistake. Whilst she was mulling over his words, the teen blew out his cheeks, stressed that he nearly gave away Ray's biggest secret to the one person he wouldn't let find out.
"Okay, I'll do it. I'll go over and tell him I'm sorry and we can be friends again." She said, more to herself than anyone else, trying to gather her courage.
With a final nod to Henry, she worked her way through the crowd, dodging dancing kids and various staff members. Seeing Ray through the sea of people, she timidly walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. He turned around, still smiling from his conversation with Miss Swellview, but when he saw who wanted him, it dropped. His stomach felt queasy, wondering if she was here to argue with him.
"Captain Man, can I speak with you?" She said to him as softly as she could. He saw how clammy her hands were and how she'd them tangled together to stop them from shaking with nerves.
"Of course, citizen, please excuse me, Miss Swellview." Ray gave a dashing smile to the young girl, who promptly went off to talk to the birthday girl, leaving the two alone.
"So, what do you wanna talk about?" His voice was more like his normal one since it was just the two of them. He no longer needed to be a superhero despite the uniform he was wearing. When he was with her, it was like everyone else in the room disappeared and he was no longer Captain Man, just Ray and his (y/n).
"I---" Her voice broke, and her face crumpled as two days worth of tears broke free of her emotional dam. Ray reacted instantaneously, grabbing her elbows and taking her further into the shady corner. Seeing that no one was paying them any mind, for the time being, he brushed the tears off her cheeks with gloved fingers and she swallowed the lump in her throat.
"I'm so sorry for being m-mean to you these past couple days, I'm s-sorry." She managed to say through her hiccups. Ray didn't reply, just gathered her in his arms and curled her into his chest. Nuzzling to his shoulder, they stayed like that for a couple minutes, just holding each other in a silent apology. Her sobbing eventually came to a stop and she pulled back with a sad smile.
"I got your shoulder wet." She said, gesturing to the dark stain on his costume.
"It's worth it to have my friend back." He smiled at her, and she giggled, everything falling back into place for them. They gave each other one final hug when she saw that Henry was ready to reveal the real culprit behind Debbie's fall.
"I should go wrap this thing up." She said to Ray and he nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, the kid needs you." She gave him one last smile and walked over to Henry by the door.
"Hey! How'd it go?" Henry asked her with a smirk. In truth, he'd watched the whole thing from across the room and saw how Ray clung to her like he was afraid she would disappear if he let go.
"Good, everything's fine." She grinned at him.
"Then let's do this thing." He lifted the microphone and addressed the crowd.
"Okay, first I'd like to say... Great meatballs." He said looking at the Putch family, who all had their arms crossed.
"And now the proof that one year ago today I was not the person responsible for Debbie being knocked off the roof." Henry carried on.
"Using this phone, we will now show you actual photos taken just before Debbie's party last year." Everyone mumbled amongst themselves at (y/n)'s words as she pointed to the phone Henry was holding up. She noticed that Ray was with Miss Swellview again, but for now, she was just happy to not be fighting with him.
"Pic one. Here you see Jasper wiping his sweaty hand on Charlotte." Henry described the picture that he mirrored on a large monitor. Charlotte turned around and looked at a guilty Jasper.
"And to the left, you can see Sydney and Oliver eating bugs. No surprise there." (y/n) pointed at the boys in the photo.
"I haven't eaten a bug since Passover!" Sydney protested, even though his words didn't help his case.
"I'm eating a bug right now," Oliver said in his monotone voice, crushing the insect between his teeth. Everyone stared in repulsion.
"But look closer and...what's that we see in the background? Hmm?" Henry refocused the group, zooming in on the picture, so they could see Piper.
""It's Henry's little sister Piper upset about something as usual," Piper said nothing but bit her lip in irritation.
"Pic two. Here we have a clearer image of Piper. And as you can see, she's really mad about her broken phone. So she's throwing it." Henry flicked to the next image, one where Piper was launching her phone across the floor, a deep scowl etched on her face.
"So what?" She yelled, starting to get nervous.
"We're glad you asked. Pic three!" Henry put up the final photo, the one with the revelation.
"Here, we can see Henry, standing innocently by the ball machine. And when we zoom in..." (y/n) had butterflies in her stomach, ready for what was coming next.
"You can see Piper's phone hitting the 11 button," Henry said. The truth was out.
Everyone's mouths fell open in shock and Henry and (y/n) shook their hands in success, glad they had each other for support.
"Oh my god!"
"Piper did it!" Charlotte cried.
"Security!" Debbie called for the men on the doors to come and take Piper away.
"But--but...it wasn't my fault! I didn't know my phone would hit the button! I'm a victim! I'm a victim! I want to talk to a lawyer!" She shrieked as the men picked her up and dragged her through the door kicking and screaming. Once she was gone, the party resumed and Ray turned to the woman beside him.
"So, Miss Swellview, since I assume there isn't a Mr Swellview, I was wondering if you might want to..." Ray was cut off as a man came next to the beauty queen and put his arm around her.
"Walk away." He said, knowing that his status as Captain Man was imposing. With the man backing off, Ray smiled and put his arm around the girl's waist.
~
"Hey, ignore him and come party with us," Henry said, noticing that (y/n) was watching them with a downcast expression.
"I'm not so bad that I need to party with teenagers to get over how stupid I am." She chuckled, her heart softening at how sweet the kid was.
"When was the last time you just let go and had some real fun?" Henry put his hands on his hips.
"Hey! I'll have you know that I'm a real party animal under this sensible exterior. But when you run a superhero's secret hideout, your fun side falls to the back burner." She said to the boy, a hand on his shoulder.
"So let the animal out! Just come and have a good time!" She looked at Henry, then at Ray who was cuddling up to Miss Swellview and finally at the joyful kids dancing and eating their hearts out.
"Fine, but don't hold me to anything I do from here on out!" She laughed and they mixed into the crowd.
(y/n) hadn't danced like that in ages and Henry could see the young woman in her bursting out. Her job was stressful and it meant that she often pushed the youth in her heart out of the way, so her logic and rational brain could take the reins. The kids didn't seem to mind the age gap, her bubbly and exuberant personality making her seem so much younger.
"Henry, we are so sorry we blamed you." Mrs Putch pulled them out from the dancing and Debbie looked at them with an apologetic face.
"Especially me." The girl said, but Henry and (y/n) weren't going to be angry on her birthday.
"Well, I'm sorry that my little sister almost killed you," Henry said back.
"Hey... things happen." (y/n) settled between the teens and Mrs Putch nodded at her words.
"Absolutely. Sorry I don't believe I got your name?" The blonde woman held out her hand for (y/n) to shake.
"Oh right, I'm (y/n). Henry works for me and my friend. We worked together to figure everything out." She quickly explained as she shook her hand with a smile.
"Then you're welcome to stay." Debbie smiled at the older girl.
"Mom, I'm going to jump on the trampoline right by the edge of the roof," Debbie said, turning to her mother. (y/n) thought about how bad of an idea it was but, Debbie was off before she could mention it.
"Hey, Mrs Putch?" Sydney approached her.
"Yeah?"
"A balloon got stuck up there by that light." He pointed to the ceiling, drawing their attention to the trapped balloon.
"That could start a fire." (y/n) pointed out and Mrs Putch looked worried.
"Hey, no worries, I'll climb up there and get it." Henry offered, but (y/n) looked at him in concern.
"Woah, woah, woah, that sounds dangerous." She said, stopping Henry before he could dash off.
"Eh, this kid can handle danger. Hold my meatball." He smirked at her with a knowing look and passed her the snack.
The two adults watched as he climbed up the lighting rig, Debbie still jumping on the trampoline.
"Yay! This is my best birthday ever." She exclaimed. Henry dislodged the balloon and threw it back onto the floor.
"I fixed it!" He yelled.
"Thank you!" Mrs Putch beamed back.
"Hey, Henry! Jump down!" Sydney shouted at his friend.
"Wait, Henry, no!" (y/n) saw what was about to happen, seeing the physics that revolved around two people jumping on a trampoline at that same time. Sadly, Henry had already let go by the time she cried out, leaving her to just what the disaster that unfolded.
The rebound from Henry hitting the opposite end of the trampoline forced Debbie over the side of the roof, echoing what happened one year ago. Everyone rushed to the side of the ledge, as Debbie screamed and Henry looked horrified.
The poor girl was laying on top of a puppy, groaning in pain.
"Whiskers? Whiskers, are you okay?" The dog walker tugged on the leash, but the dog had been squashed by the impact of Debbie's fall.
"My name is not Whiskers." She grumbled as Mrs Putch phoned for an ambulance. Looking at Henry, (y/n) shook her head, joining him on the trampoline.
"You really know how to find trouble, don't you?" She said to the cringing boy, who looked at her in despair.
"Oh boy, am I gonna get in trouble?" He panicked.
"Ehhh, maybe, I don't know. Technically, it was Sydney's idea, so Mrs Putch might forgive you." The woman reasoned.
"And Debbie?" They both looked down at the girl.
"Yeah, no. She's gonna hate you forever." All Henry could do was throw his head back and groan.

not sure if you’ve already discussed this but what do you envision for debbie post-series? do you think she would be single for a while? remain in welding? stay living on the southside or move somewhere nearby? would she eventually get back in touch with sandy? what would you most like to see for her?
well i did talk about it here, but i do have a few more thoughts!
i think that she should be single for a while, but i’m not sure if she will. i want to wish the best for her but in reality she’s fucked up and lonely so if she meets a woman i feel like she’ll date her. relationships and sex are one of the many ways she sabotages herself, and i definitely think she’ll be going through it, but what i hope will happen is that heidi leaves, she’ll date more women who are basically carbon copies of heidi, then she’ll stay single and work on herself. however, that probably would not happen.
she would definitely remain in welding. debbie does everything seemed to be going well so i think that she’d keep doing that. i don’t really remember what they said happened with the welders strike in season 10, but it was acknowledged so it’s not like they forgot about it. but if the strike is up she may go back if she needs the money, however i think that she likes being a businesswoman (we see her with her own daycare going on in season 2, she she seems to like the independence and power- good for her!).
she’s going to stay in the southside, specifically in the gallagher house. i know that if i start talking about this, i will not stop, but to sum it up: i fucking hated the selling the house storyline, lip had absolutely NO right to sell a house that he wasn’t even living in + was in debbie’s name, and i think that she would probably stay in there and refuse to leave until she’s like 90 and being placed in assisted living. she’s very attached to it, and she would insist on weekly family gatherings, whether it’s dinners, game nights, or parties. you cannot get out of it she will force you to go.
i want her to get back in touch with sandy, but i think that deep down it’s just my gallavich crazed heart that believes that they’ll come back for each other😭. if they were to reconnect, it would be at the anniversary party (which i pretend that sandy was at because why the fuck wasn’t she? she walked mickey down the fucking isle, she should’ve been there), or possibly at some other situation where the gallagher’s and the milkoviches are in the same room. i don’t know… their relationship was going so well and then they ruined it and i’m beginning to question if it’s beyond repair. the way that their traumas clash makes it very difficult for these two to be together, but i was really rooting for them for many reasons.
i just want her to be happy. she suffered a lot all eleven seasons, and she has just gotten worse as the years go by so i really just hope that things work out well for her. it seems like she’s had a very sad and lonely life, so i hope that she can try to mend it and give herself and franny a safe, loving environment that debbie never had.

Another interesting interview from 2015. This was something of a peace year for the brothers. There are other interviews from this year where Noel is being quite reasonable and sometimes even nice about Liam. 16:50 for Noel being played new Belgian music - his reaction is wonderful to see.
7:30
Int - […] you’ve made up with your brother, you also made up with Damon Albarn, and all those old enemies of yours. Is it true […]
Noel - […] brothers never really fall out. Liam is a very angry man still. And as long as he’s angry we won’t be friends I’m afraid.
Int - […] I always thought Liam can be very angry but you can be very... [makes stabbing gesture]
Noel - What does that mean?
Int - It means like you are also saying not very nice things but in a subtle way.
Noel - Yeah, well, maybe…I guess. But for my own part, all I ever wanted was to make the band the best that it could be. And I feel, or I felt at the time that Liam…just was in it for himself and yeah, that tends to rile me a little bit. If I’m subtle, that’s a good thing. It’s better than being violent.
The interviewer goes on to talk with surprising bluntness about how Noel is perceived by others; that he’s perceived to be angry (ironic, given Noel had just mentioned that Liam is an angry man). Noel defends himself, insisting that he’s not angry, he just takes his work seriously.
“People mistake my seriousness for anger. I’m not there to enjoy myself, I’m there to work because people pay their hard earned money to see us play and I wanna get it right.” He goes on to say that it takes a ‘great deal of effort’ for him to make a band work. There were obviously multiple problems that the brothers had to grapple with during Oasis but differences in work ethic or approaches to work - partly stemming from their age gap - must have been right up there, if not the biggest problem, which of course was highlighted as far back as Wibling Rivalry.
Having survived a tough time in his life and seeing how hard Debbie works for him, I don't doubt Liam now realises that to be successful it can’t just be all fun and games and getting hammered.
I wonder if he now understands what Noel was trying to achieve back then? And if so, could they work better together now? If Noel has mellowed somewhat and Liam has matured?
