Amorra Week 23′ Day 1: Healing
“Someone’s been practicing, huh?”
“Well, a student is only as good as their teacher.”
Korra’s never had a student before– she’s always been the student. But, in return for some chi blocking lessons her former enemy’s taught her, she’s decided teaching him about the good bending could bring would help him heal some inner wounds… and some outer ones too.
She’s maybe enjoying herself a bit too much. He certainly doesn’t seem to be complaining, though.

Amorra Week 2023. Day one: Scars/Healing
This is my contribution to the first day of Amorra Week 2023. It’s just hurt/comfort without context, lol, but this oneshot takes place after Book 4′s events. How did Noatak survive? How did they meet again? Idk bro, just enjoy. @amorraweek2023

“What about this one?” Korra softly asks, her fingertips drawing imaginary patterns on the pale line crossing his chest.
Noatak tilts his head, silently admiring the way the moonlight bathes her bare skin covered with similar scars. Battle scars, he reminds himself, she whispered to him how she got them in those instances when the silence was so heavy to bear after making love.
The sheer force of Unalaq and Vatuu together. Zaheer’s homicidal techniques. Kuvira ruthless metal bending. But Noatak is well aware there are other types of scars. The emotional ones. They have gotten plenty of these throughout their life.
Noatak already has told her how he got some of his real battle scars, her blue eyes giving away understanding or admiration (sometimes both) at hearing his explanation. Noatak didn’t say a single lie to her those times. He doesn’t want to lie anymore. Talking about old wounds is part of the healing, after all.
When he doesn’t say something, Korra shifts onto his lap, her gaze straying to the wall.
“If you don’t feel comfort-”
“It’s fine.”
He gently grabs her chin and makes her look at him. He takes in the red spreading across her cheeks, the soft flesh of her lips, and the glow emitted by her eyes.
It’s not so hard as before opening his soul to her.
“It happened a few days after I arrived in Republic City…”
