"Every villain is the hero of their own story" is true as far as it goes. But this does *not* mean, "Every villain needs to have sympathetic, relatable motivations."

The real world is full of people who just want to dominate, hurt and ruin others. They're the "heroes" in an ugly, terrible story.

I want to be the cruel evil villain that can dangle your whole world right before your finger tips and then crush it before your eyes but I'd feel kinda bad. If I ever did it to my future nemesis and like they broke down crying I couldn't just laugh it off or something. I'd probably say something really stupid like "Oh shit, my bad I didn't think you'd be affected like that. Do you wanna go home? I can get you some coffee or something." I mean I have my goals and I really want to achieve them but I don't want to ruin my nemesis's life. I just want to end their life in a very dramatic way! There's a difference between extreme cruelty and just the average queer villain amount. I personally don't think I could be friends with a guy that kills their nemesis's cat or something. Even I have enough morality to not destroy someones life before their eyes.

i love it when a villain is good. when a character has been othered by society, rejects society in turn, reclaims that otherness and the title of villain for themself, is aware of the flaws of societal structures and works against them, is "evil" not in an ethical sense, but in a social one. yes i've just watched nimona how could you tell

Story Prompt 100

Amidst the ruins of a once-grand kingdom, a figure stood tall, surveying the devastation below. The flames licked at the remnants of civilization, casting an eerie glow upon the scene. The one responsible for this chaos, the one they called the villain, reveled in the destruction that lay in their wake.

Down below, amidst the chaos, a lone figure struggled to rise. The hero, battered and bloodied, yet still defiant, met the villain's gaze with a mixture of defiance and resignation. The weight of their countless battles hung heavy between them.

With a twisted grin, the villain approached, their steps deliberate and filled with malice. They raised their sword, not to strike, but to mockingly lift the hero's chin, forcing them to meet their gaze.

"You see, it's not about good or evil," the villain remarked, their voice dripping with disdain. "It's about power. And I have all the power now."

The hero, barely able to speak through the pain, spat out words of defiance. "You're nothing but a monster," they hissed, their voice barely a whisper amidst the chaos.

The villain's laughter echoed across the desolate landscape, a sound devoid of remorse or mercy. "Monster, perhaps," they conceded, their eyes gleaming with a twisted sense of satisfaction. "But a necessary one."

As memories of past betrayals and conflicts flooded the hero's mind, the realization of their own sins washed over them like a tidal wave. Regret mingled with anger, a bitter taste that soured the hero's resolve.

In a final, desperate attempt to defy their fate, the hero uttered a plea for redemption. "Please," they whispered, their voice barely audible above the roar of the flames. "Forgive me."

I hate it when the big bads get all the credit for an evil scheme whenever like 20 henchmen helped out. Give the little guys some credit! They work so hard for you! They must not only believe in your ideals but believe in you so much! They want to help your evil flourish. So make sure that your hero knows that you weren't the only one kicking their ass! All you henchpeople and goons out there I want you to know that you're just as important as any overlord. You're the force that helps us succeed! I want every last one of you to achieve your fullest evil potential! I put my full faith in every last one of your abilities!
