rewatched Megamind just now because my dad got his hands on a HD copy after many years and uhh yeah it's the best movie ever made. (FYI I've been watching an SD cropped .avi for my whole life so seeing it in such High Definition™ was eye-opening)
(also if you plan to read this whole thing sorry for the quality of the photos these are all taken from my phone because I have Megamind just. In my album)
These people can be seen after Minion speeds away in the invisible car (hitting some guy in the process) and they're like, trying to figure out why they feel like they got hit by a mfing car it's so cool
There's a Raiders of the Lost Arc reference that my dad pointed out? That's cool
Where tf was Hal planning to store that "bouncy house he rented" when his apartment is like twelve square feet
Also the Roxanne "Good night Hal" poster totally caught me off guard even though I knew it was there lmao
LOOK AT HOW ROXANNE AND MEGAMIND/BERNARD LOOK AT EACH OTHER THEY'RE SO IN LOVE
BROKEN MIRROR IMAGERY
Hal wearing a mask when we first see him, when he's acting all "heroic" and shit, and then tossing the mask away just as he gets rejected, and then not wearing the mask for the rest of the movie because THAT'S HIS TRUE SELF?! THE THEMES OF LOOKING PAST THE INITIAL ASSUMPTIONS YOU MAKE WHEN YOU MEET A PERSON AND SELF IDENTITY IN THIS MOVIE MAKE ME GO FERAL
The scene in the rain is so beautifully animated and scored it makes me want to cry 😭
I never noticed this but Megamind reverting back to his old habits and "evil" ways after Roxanne finds out he'd been lying to her is just chef's kiss 💋 Like, he had such fun back then being thwarted by Metro Man, and then he starts growing as a person when he hangs out with Roxanne, like when he restores the paintings to the museum or cleans up the park he doesn't take credit for it or anything, he just wants to see her happy
And then she dumps him and he tries to get over it by being "himself" again
Titan rising from fire imagery? Okay I see you movie (I'm literally holding myself back from screaming because you're so amazing)
Also the way that Megamind gets so tense and frightened when Titan actually threatens to kill him? Because Metro Man would just give him to the police (acab) because it's not in his morals to kill someone
Metro Man walking on water and having his feet kissed imagery, also obviously being modelled after Elvis Presley who people worship like a god 10/10
Markiplier looking down for a moment and legitimately contemplating his question "Who would I be without you?" Because he's having a kind of identity crisis, wondering what he would do if he wasn't born with these powers and automatically assigned the role of protector because of them
Another thing about Titan, I love how in the scene where he's introduced formally with powers, the score is written like it's supposed to be romantic, or heroic, but there's a weird thing Hans Zimmer did where he managed to make it sound sinister especially towards the end, when he gets angry at Roxanne
Overall thoughts: I'm in love with this movie.
I am also furious that we went from "It can be easily reheated, in the microwave of evil" and "I'm shaking in my custom baby seal leather boots" and "There is no Queen of England" to;
"It's either a paper weight or a flash-grenade, so careful with that"
"I have eyes that can see right through lead" is the funniest thing to ever grace my eyes and ears.

Warning:Vent Post about that New Megamind "Sequel"
Please note this is my own opinion and feelings about the film. Do not harrass anyone who created the show or anyone who likes the show. Even if I have no clue why you would like this show.
Harrass DreamWorks executives who did this instead.
You've been warned.
Megamind VS the Doom Syndicate sucks ass and we shouldn't accept this as new Megamind lore.
It's a disgrace to the character and people shouldn't be guilt tripped into liking it. We shouldnt be called ungrateful for caring about how much love went into the original and wanting the sequel to be the same in quality and writing. Even if the Doom Syndicate were in the original concepts, they are still massacred in this movie.
What do you gain from this new show? What interesting, new things come from this or the new show?
That's right. It's nothing.
There are no risks taken, no smart action sequences, no improved storytelling, and no new storyline.
No characters goes through an arc, nor are they three-dimensional. They are all husks of their personalities, and they made everyone either dumb or an insufferable prick.
They took away anything from the original film and shat on its OG premise. They spat in our faces, the original fans who grew up with this film. The people who probably resognated with the film's themes. They expect us to ignore the fact that they do not care about quality or what made Megamind a great film.
I also want to apply this to the other past movies they did this with (except a few). They've done this before, and we can't let them do this again. They have the money and capability to make great sequels and shows.
Do not support this nothing burger of a show. Support the Button of Doom short instead. Do not let DreamWorks think it's alright to make money off of being lazy.
They didn't rise up as a company by making shitty TV shows.

Here's why Hal from Megamind was genuinely a mentally disturbed person
This man was obsessed with one woman, Roxanne. In the beginning, he thinks the way he was behaving around Roxanne was “nice”, which was really setting the bar very low. The way he spoke to her was so creepy and weird, and yet he blames her for not “taking the time to know him”. When he literally gave her reasons not to. I've looked at the scenes where Titan is genuinely tweaking and I have discovered he might have secretly had obsessive love disorder, which is when a person becomes obsessed with one person they think they may be in love with. Said people might feel the need to protect their loved one obsessively or even become controlling of them as if they were a possession. In some real-world cases, people with this disorder react to rejection violently, either subtly or extremely. This fits Hal perfectly, as he was obsessed with Roxanne, and when she rejected him, he lost his mind, even saying, "You're supposed to be with me!" The way he says it is that of pure confusion, anger, and denial. Note, he took the superhero gig just to get the girl he was obsessed with, only to find that she didn't love him back. Hell, he even had a poster of her with a sticky note on it, saying, "Good night, Hal." The rejection eventually led to him having a small mental breakdown he was able to control until he fought and almost killed Megamind. In the end, he figured that if he couldn’t have Roxanne, no one could, which is why he nearly killed her with his heat vision.

When Jimma1300 said; "Is Evelyn Deavor a Roxanne Ritchi Gone Bad?" in the comments of Is Winston Deavor like Alistair Krei? on my DeviantArt account, it got me to make this; so I could see what he had meant. The only connection between these two that I originally saw was that they have short brown hair, and are acquainted with superheroes and villains.
I wonder what would happen if someone were to ship them. Would their ship name be "Roxelyn", "Roxannelyn/Roxannevelyn" or "Eveloxanne"?
