will it ever be enough? when someone loves you, you feel something curl inside of you, sour and whiplike, angry at being unheard. they don't really love you, they love this facsimile you have ensconced in your rabbit body. they will chop up the bits of you looking for luck and never find the good soul you promise - their love slides off. you're viscera; you have spent a lifetime promising the blood is art.

oh but when someone hates you - well, they're right to. and you'd trip over your little grassknot legs for them. begging them to reconsider. you feel it all knifeedge, spinepoint straight through you. they're the ones who see the real you, after all; and if they can love you, you might finally feel worth something.

but if they do love you in the end, after all of that, after your heart like a fawn opens to gutter under them - you've fooled them, and it isn't worth anything anymore. they've just gone and fallen for it. the love slides right off.

once, you heard a line in a musical about being abandoned. you laughed at the time, unnerved. your voice a keen; too shaky to be candid.

will it ever be enough. will the love ever diffuse through your skin and sink into your marrow. are you even capable of feeling that - of feeling cared for - or are you still waiting, even right now, for the hunter to draw the bow and arrow. if you trust that love, even once, and are wrong, you know exactly what will happen.

and somehow you know - you'll never be able to fix that, once it's been broken.

*laying facedown on the ground* how is it going to be 30 minutes. it can’t just be 30 minutes can it (🤡)??? because, from what all we’ve seen in bts vids and the like, we have to fit (ofmd finale spoilers beneath cut)—

- Ed fishing and coming to the realization that Stede/the crew are in danger, and doing whatever he has to do in order to get back (fishing up his leathers, emerging from the ocean, etc etc)

- The crew getting captured, or maybe just something with them jailed already

- The crew devising some kind of fuckery where they dress up as naval officers

- Whatever sort of hijinks goes down in the forest where some of the crew are battling/tripping up (literally) the actual naval officers

- The actual beach battle sequence itself where Ed and Stede are both fighting through it

- The both of them reuniting and having some kind of romantic moment (I would really like them to aPOLOGIZE TO EACH OTHER BUT Y’KNOW SKDJWJD)

- Ed and Stede teaming up with Zheng and Auntie

- Some sort of sequence where Ed appears to be dressed in some sort of extravagant white outfit and also appears to have been stabbed (or is otherwise in contact with a lot of blood. please see also: that one bloody hand shot)

- Some sort of VERY suspicious looking sequence where the crew seems to be near a makeshift grave of some sort. So if someone dies, we’ll need time to sit with that/allow that moment to breathe (but also I can’t see how because everyone has died numerous times and quite literally just Can’t Be Killed DKWKD)

- That other sequence where the crew is all inside and Ed and Stede have the “it’s a suicide mission/only if we die” exchange. Which…I can’t tell where that is in the timeline?? Because I would assume Ed and Stede dramatically reunite on the beach but maybe not depending on time?????

- Some sort of scene where the crew all seem to be running towards a dinghy/trying to get away from danger

- Some sort of scene where Ed and Stede are looking at that one little house that has appeared in the background of a few shots and more than likely having some sort of discussion about their future/their relationship

sorry im just thinking about forever and bad again, and especially forever's return from the nether. do you think that they'll be told he's back by the feds? do you think they'll just somehow know?

whether forever returns with the eggs or not, do you think there will be a frantic server of people searching for him as soon as they realize? do you think bad, baghera, pac, cellbit and bagi will be the most frantic? pac, bagi and bad huddled in a group, trying to reassure the demon that they'll find forever. bad who keeps doubting this is real but wants to believe so badly that forever is back. he still needs his flowers. it's certainly not because of the ache in his chest that's been there since forever disappeared.

do you think they all rush to the order just to see him trying to stumble his way away from the portal? mutliple people rush forward first, eager to check on him and to assure that he's safe. is he okay? did he find the eggs? what happened? why did you go alone? were you forced? a veritable waterfall of questions and statements.

the only thing that bad can do is stare for a second, he wonders if this forever is real. he lurches forward, steps unsure and eerily silent as the president is bombarded with questions and almost touches to try and check for wounds. the only thing bad can do is move forward and bring forever into a hug. bad's face tucked into the ash covered, burnt fabric of forever's ruined suit. they crumple to the floor before anyone else joins them.

it makes him a hypocrite, both of them really. to say never do that again. not alone. please. the unspoken 'i can't lose you's and the care. bad does not cry, maybe forever does. but they sit there together for a while. others join the hug eventually, baghera, pac, cellbit, bagi.

they all just sit and revel in the fact their friend is back.
