can I ask how and why you’re afraid of jello??? Like I just don’t get it? What part of jello are you afraid of??

Hello! Yes of course, I suppose it's not intuitive. But for some context, they've hypothesized the "fear of holes" is less a fear and more of an evolutionary disgust response.

My "fear" of Jello is the same, and based entirely on jelly-like susbtances moving. So the sight of slabs of fat, unhardened agarose gels, jello (like the desert), pudding, jellyfish on a beach, lava lamps, anything gelatinous and wobbly makes me very nauseous and freaked out that I literally can't look at it lmao. There's a very stupid but fun story of the day my friend convinced her mom to make me my "favourite dessert" but l'll spare us all.

I'll be participating in a Menhera zine soon, and this is one of the pieces I'll be sending.

"Emetophobia". It was after I came back from CDMX due to my father's illness. We almost lost him, I couldn't handle it very well, so I got drunk for the very very first time in all my back then 32 years. I hold my alcohol very well and never got hungover nor drunk to the point of puking. Which is lucky because I'm extremely terrified of puking... it started when I was little I had to puke because I overstuffed my mouth with food. Food and I are frenemies... so... the idea of breathing in anything while puking is what makes me so scared (thanks, mum...). But the day I got drunk... I did, and-well, let's just say I dissociated very bad. But the Protector of System remembers, so he thought it would've been a good idea that I create this to cope with the feelings I had but didn't know why. So I did. OwO PSA: don't drink three four lokos in one go... it's not worth the hungover and fear. x__x

Reminder that phobias are a form of anxiety disorder, so even if you may not have a phobia please be kind to those who are.

If someone is afraid of spiders, it’s fine to remind them it’s harmless and they’ll be okay. It is not fine to tell them they’re overreacting or being silly. Doubly wrong to tease them for it.

This applies to all phobias, even ones you might find silly. It may not be scary to you, but trust it is to them.

Plus, a part of a phobia can be knowing that the subject of their fears may not be as scary as their head puts it. Doesn’t mean that helps them be less afraid, and that’s okay.

Superhero couldn't breathe. They couldn't move. They couldn't do anything but quake in terror.

They had fallen into Villain's trap weeks ago. Unfortunately, so had Hero. The weeks with Villain had been uneventful. Villain couldn't hurt either of them. And Superhero realized that Villain didn't know what to do once they caught the two heroes.

Until now.

Villain laughed along with the person they had brought in. The person, face painted white and red, ruffled outfit, bulbous honking nose, was laughing with joy. Villain was laughing at Superhero's expense.

"Superhero, it's just a clown." Hero whispered as they watched Superhero cower in terror.

"Exactly!" Superhero whispered back.

Hero rolled their eyes as they stepped forward. They would handle this since Superhero clearly couldn't.

Haptophobia

OH SHIT, GUESS WHO REALIZED THEY HAVE 4 PHOBIAS AND NOT JUST 3! So I have a phobia of being alone, the dark, and eyes. I knew that. I didn't know there was an actual phobia of vomiting... guess how I feel about that? Thank you, trauma, I'm collecting disorders like it's an all you can eat buffet.

If you looked through my search history after any procedure I’ve had (let it be root canal, brith control implantation, wisdom teeth removal, and more) you will easily be able to tell I have tomophobia

Your phobia or dislike of certain animals does not give you the right to harass and bully people who love and share them.

Use the blacklist tag like a normal human being, and leave people who love rats or snakes or bugs etc. the fuck alone.

Okay I’ll be honest, Anon, I had to look the first two. I knew what the third one was but I don’t have that.

I definitely have tripophobia though. I googled it and cringed immediately. I remember seeing like one of those clickbait adds that had something like that but with human flesh and I was like legit shook. So yeah, I definitely have that.

Not everything under that category messes with me I don’t think because some like insect nests look like that sometimes and those don’t bother me but the pictures that popped up when I googled it literally made my skin crawl.

But other than that I don’t think I have any other kind of phobias. I googled some more phobias and none of those hit me like that second one you listed did.
