there are three terms i see being thrown around in a ton of posts "supporting" palestinians that don't actually apply. if you're someone who calls israel an apartheid colonial state committing genocide and you either actually believe it or have seen those terms often enough to copy them yourself, i encourage you to think a little more deeply about what these words mean:

apartheid:

this term isn't one that you use for just any form or extent of racial discrimination. i have never seen anyone use this term in reference to the united states, and i think everyone reading this can acknowledge that racism is extremely prevalent and systemic here. in fact, i've only ever seen this term used in regards to south africa and israel. if you use it about israel, think about what policies are in place that make it an apartheid state in your view, and then think about whether any other country in the world has comparable ones. if so, why is israel considered apartheid when others aren't? here is some information about the term and why it does not apply. why israel isn't an apartheid state arab political parties and participation in israeli government

colonial state:

to most people, colonization involves taking land from indigenous peoples so that people who are not indigenous to the area / have no ancestral ties to that area can control it instead. colonial settlers could, in theory, return to a country of ancestral origin in which they would be a cultural majority or be safe and not expect to be subject to hate crimes because they are of majority status. one can acknowledge that palestinians have been displaced without it being colonialism. jewish people are indigenous. yes, even the white ones. no, not all jews are white. if any of these claims seem far-fetched to you, or you don't understand how jewish people can be indigenous to israel, i recommend reading these posts: jewish indigeneity from an archeological perspective history of jewish presence in israel

genocide:

"the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group." if israelis-- even the israeli government, which even "zionists" consider right-wing, fucked, and nonrepresentative of their values-- wanted to wipe out palestinians, we would have seen very different actions from them throughout history. one can acknowledge and mourn the loss of innocent palestinian life during wartime without framing it as something it's not. growth of palestinian population rates

there is no reason to use terms that don't apply, actually. when so many people parrot these terms without understanding whether or not they're accurate:

1. this actual situation gets muddled, leading to people who have done no research of their own jumping to pick sides because they think they’re rallying against "the new nazis." These people may then support Hamas as “freedom fighters,” attack Jewish people around the world, and celebrate the rape, torture, and death of Israeli women and children because they’re “complicit in colonial apartheid genocide” and no longer considered human.

2. you imply that it is impossible to care about or support civilians affected by war if they’re NOT victims of genocide, colonialism, or apartheid states. Why do you need to rely on these terms to feel empathy for palestinians? If you acknowledged that they’ve been displaced by other indigenous people and are being killed in and affected by war, would your fervor for their cause die out? if so, is that a reasonable response to the realization that the real world isn't cut and dry, and not every conflict has a completely evil side and a side that is completely innocent?

3. ACTUAL instances of genocide, apartheid, and colonialism get watered down. I’ve seen people compare this to the Holocaust, calling Jewish people Nazis. Look back at the resource I linked to above. When you compare steady growth of Palestinian populations with the brutal erasure of ⅔ of the jewish population in europe, you are not only overexaggerating current events, but you’re also saying that the holocaust wasn’t all that bad, actually. To weaponize a people’s own genocide against them is. Gross. Especially when recent events have been catalyzed by Hamas beheading and burning babies–rather reminiscent of the Holocaust–and when people continue to deny that the 10/7 attack even took place. Also. rather. Reminiscent of non-jewish refusal to believe accounts of concentration camps.

similarly, when you water down terms like “apartheid” to mean any form of inequality for racial minorities, you deny the realities of apartheid south africa and imply that that’s “pretty much the same” as racism experienced in other countries around the world

Most of the other members of the cast think of themselves and their friends in terms of the "story" of Freddy Fazbear-- that is, they primarily view themselves as the characters they represent, as opposed to mechanical entities acting as those beloved animals. PG was built to have "adult" conversations, file incident reports, and assist employees with less-than-whimsical tasks, however, and for him, his worldview is reversed.

It makes Phone Guy's processor hurt with the certainty that he shouldn't be seeing what he's seeing, but he can't turn back now; taking a few moments to try (and fail) to make sense of where the duo has gone, PG finally steps forward, inching closer to the opening into nothingness to watch what the employee does next.

Then the IOF kidnapped the director right afterwards. He's still missing.

Boris stared down at the small, sleeping, lump on the bed; curled on her side with knees tucked into her chest. He reached out to smooth back an unruly curl from tickling her nose. Her face was calm, big, brown, eyes closed to the world as little puffs of breath left her slightly ajar mouth. He couldn’t help the smile as he glanced down, noticing the gap where a baby tooth had once stood.

Tiffany had been upset, the day prior, at his explanation all the teeth in her mouth would soon become loose and fall out; making way for grown-up teeth. She had huffed in annoyance, claiming she was already a big girl, holding out five fingers to show off her age. Despite her indignation she proceeded to spend the whole day fiddling with the loose tooth until it had finally popped out. Her initial triumph had turned to tears upon noticing the small amount of blood in her mouth, left behind by the tooth.

He had several guesses as to why the sight of blood upset her; this hadn’t been the first time, since she had come to live with him, that she’d been bothered by blood. He had taken to eating out of ceramic and non-see-through mugs.

Boris sighed to himself as he sat back in his chair beside the bed, looking at the small, little, hands curled into loose fists beneath her chin. For once, he was thankful to not be human anymore, as things like him didn’t need as much sleep. Boris has taken to spending most of his nights at Tiffany’s bedside, since she had recovered. Her nightmares unrelenting when alone.

Before he had taken up his nightly vigil she had snuck into his room on several occasions. He had woken, more then once, to find her curled into the corner furtherest away from the door; keeping watch. She would explain the ‘monsters’ had been hurting her again- always looking away, ashamed, telling him that she hadn’t made it to the potty in time. Having gone in her sleep due to the nightmares.

Boris had never been so happy- never in his long life had he enjoyed so thoroughly- ripping those men apart. It had been a fluke that night, he had taken a route he usually avoided due to the air always smelling like filth as it wafted through cluttered ally-ways and over dilapidated buildings. But the route was quicker and he had been tired. He remember stopping outside an abandoned apartment building on the edge of the ghettoes red-light district.

The faint slapping of flesh loud to his overly sensitive ears and the sweat smell of blood that accompanied it had made his mouth water, despite his disgust- giving him pause. A child’s blood.

Tragedies happened everyday and getting himself involved in the plights of all those he came across would bring unwanted attention to his operation. He only had another decade, maybe two, until Adrien would be turning another generation. And he was thoroughly without allies. Is what he had thought to himself despite breaking the door-less threshold of the apartment building. Boris let his nose take him down a long hallway, past rotting furniture and trash. He rounded a corner and came face to face with a drunken man who asked, slurring, if he was there for the ‘party.’

And what a party it had been- a handful of filthy men all standing around in varying states of undress, a strung-out looking, dark skinned, woman in the corner counting bills, and in the center a limp, bloody, little body. Boris realized, belatedly, there had been a naked man draped over said little body- his mind, sluggishly, putting two and two together as his body moved, having already decided on what needed to be done.

Before anyone had even registered his presence he was ripping the arms off the nearest man. A cacophony of screams erupting in the room at the sound of tearing flesh, mixing deliciously with the sweet stench of blood and piss. Like scurrying rats, they scrambled over one another- pushing, shoving, and shouting as they tried to get away from him.

An ultimately useless endeavor, as they were only humans- unarmed humans at that and he was a monster.

Thinking back, Boris was now able to admit to himself- in the dead of night- that he had reveled in slaughtering those humans more then he should have. But looking down at the peaceful, sleeping little face- once sunken cheeks now plump, dark complexion turning rich instead of pale- he couldn’t care less.

For once, he and the animalistic part of himself, that he kept buried deep down, were in total agreement. He would keep her safe.

not to ruin anyone’s day but i’ve just realised that after the Battle Of Manhattan the possibility of a demigod dying on the bus back to camp is very high.

If a camper was so high on adrenaline that they didn’t realise they were badly injured and they got back on a mini bus and finally let themselves relax, chances are they’re dying and most of their family n friends will just think they’re sleeping until they try to wake them up back at camp
