this is combining Ovid's Heroides and the Excidium Troie because I can't stop thinking of Hermes telling him not to be afraid. what the fuck!! Ares is wearing the crown that Paris gave him.
I have. thoughts. about Paris. he's almost got this Troilos parallel in my mind, that the event that defines him in detail exists in a lost narrative that we don't have (the Cypria), but everyone else knew. the event that defines Troilos is his death (murdered, butchered by Achilles, the violence of which haunts everything after. Achilles, child killer, you can't escape that!), and the event that defines Paris is the Judgement. what's a lost text but a kind of grave!!
idk I don't think that Paris before the Judgement would recognize himself after bc when you become god touched, it rearranges your guts. you become transformed in the worst way possible! how could you recognize yourself! but I also think that all the Parises after the Judgement would recognize each other because that event is so locked into the trauma of war and the scar it leaves on the land, it's like a scar on the narrative too. it exists like this forever, over and over again, so you exist like that forever too. Troy collects grief and despairs.

and Paris is like. a miserable little god/corpse-puppet or something, like a match for the gods to throw onto gasoline.

a collection of things regarding Paris that made me go 😬 but under a cut bc this is getting. very long.

Happy 8th anniversary to Selfie (2014)! This show was ahead of its time and was gone too soon.
It’s a romantic comedy series starring Karen Gillan and John Cho. A modern adaptation of My Fair Lady created by Emily Kapnek (As Told by Ginger, Suburgatory). The same executive producer for Bridgerton also worked on Selfie. She’s the reason why John Cho was cast as Henry making him the first Asian male romantic lead in a U.S. romcom series. Everyone had great chemistry and not to mention Karen Gillan did an amazing cover of Chandelier. The cast and creator would be up for a revival if there’s an opportunity as well.
Release date: September 30, 2014 - December 30, 2014
life lately // enjoying myself so hard it's getting dangerous 🤭
in this issue 🔍: brain-rot target language input 🇯🇵🇨🇳🇰🇷 & if icarus was a workaholic 👩💻✍️🍝
"language learning" but it's just brain-rot 🧠
🇯🇵 Shogun (9/10) — objectively a really good show, but a lot of death and triggering topics for me personally 🥺
🇯🇵 Spy x Family (5/10) — i can only watch one episode at a time now because the plot is getting increasingly ridiculous, please don't be mad at me if you're a fan 😅
🇨🇳 When I Fly Towards You (6/10) — it's silly, but it's also just what you expect from kids of the characters' ages and at times it does tickle that part of my brain that likes candy (i still like Exclusive Fairytale better though, 对不起 张陆让)
🇯🇵 Petrichor 花鋏 キョウ (10/10) — my new favorite album!! ☺️ even @pianistbynight likes this one and she usually prefers classical music!
🇰🇷 Seventeen on Shuffle (10/10) — my usual suspects never miss 😌
too close to the sun but finally looking in the mirror ☀️🪞
i gave myself a headache from working too much in poor physical conditions again 😭 i didn't notice until the end of the day because i was on a roll at work and it's rare when that happens, so in a messed up way, i feel it was worth it?? i bought a new chair and rearranged my desk setup a little to be more ergonomic, but that only does so much when i have one good night of sleep a week 🙃
my poor sleep is low-key my own fault though since i write and binge cinema therapy videos late into the night because i love doing those things so much that my brain won't shut up until i do them 😛
in other news, i made my favorite pasta recipe!! 😋 but i burned myself and didn't notice until i started washing the dishes in hot water ♨️ wow, me enjoying myself so much i don't notice i'm hurting myself is a real theme here... 🙈 something to work out in detail in my diary some time 🤔
💌: how's life been treating you lately? 💐
bonus: @pianistbynight tagged me in this fun picrew game (how you look now vs when you were younger) and it made me miss my good eyesight 🥲 everyone, take good care of your eyes by taking lots of outdoor breaks (with UV protection!!) 👀

“Physical 100” is such a crazy concept to me because if you were to make an American equivalent to the show, you could end up with an episode where NBA’s Steph Curry gets into a wrestling match with NFL’s Brock Purdy. Or the YouTuber “Yoga with Adrienne” wrestling with WWE’s Becky Lynch.
Many children’s media is easily accessible too, with a lot of shows officially uploaded to YouTube for free so you don’t have to hunt down resources or pay for a specific subscription or platform. They are great for beginner practice because of the easy-to-follow plots, simple dialogue, and story!
Hello Jadoo – 안녕자두야
The plot focuses on a young girl in Seoul and her antics with friends and family.
The Youtube channel Learn Korean with Jadoo is a good resource, with both Korean and English subtitles (with subtitle options for more languages too!) in short 10min episodes.
Pororo the Little Penguin – 뽀롱뽀롱 뽀로로
The most popular recent Korean children’s TV show, Pororo has hour-long episodes uploaded to YouTube for free as well; but the official channel doesn’t come with English or Korean subs so keep that in mind.
Dooly the Little Dinosaur – 아기공룡 둘리
A late 80s to 90s Korean kids’ TV show, Dooly is also an official South Korean citizen
Anpanman – 안판만
Popular children’s show about a bread superhero, it’s Japanese but still big in Korea (and dubbed in Korean), also referenced in the iconic BTS song
Pinkfong 핑크퐁
No doubt you probably know “Baby Shark”, which craze was started by the Pinkfong channel originally in Korean and then into English. They have a bunch of Korean songs and short stories on their channel.
JunyTony 주니토니
Channel about animated twin wizards with animal friends, who go on magical and musical adventures, using their spells to save the day.
yearimTV 예림TV
This YouTube channel has many short stories and songs like the others, but also has a focus on traditional Korean stories.
I hate when I'm watching non-english shows with subtitles and then the characters speak english in some scenes and there's no subtitles for that.
I want subtitles for the whole thing not just the show's native language parts. suddenly hearing english is confusing enough and adding to that the non-english actors accents and pronunciations just means there's smoke coming out of my head because I try so hard and yet I don't understand anything
