“Physical 100” is such a crazy concept to me because if you were to make an American equivalent to the show, you could end up with an episode where NBA’s Steph Curry gets into a wrestling match with NFL’s Brock Purdy. Or the YouTuber “Yoga with Adrienne” wrestling with WWE’s Becky Lynch.

my lovely liar
Started watching this kdrama upon receiving some tiktoks about it and I'm not entirely sure about it. I think the plot is interesting, but there was definitely room for improvement.
The show gets very predictable and it felt like they dragged it on, I swear I figured out most of it by the first eight episodes. However, there was a shocking plot twist in my opinion!
The male leads acting can be off putting, I just felt that his character lacked something. There was more chemistry between the female lead and second male lead but because of how the story is set you don't really root for them. I do think it's a good enough watch so that's why I recommend it but there was just something missing...
Plot: 80

Ending: 60

K-Dramas Based on True Stories
1. Fight for My Way
Tumblr media
This rom-com drama stars Park Seo Jun and Kim Ji Won. It is loosely based on the life of a real mixed martial artists Choo Sung Hoon and his wife Yano Shiho. The writer of the series had once mentioned in an interview that he saw Shiho crying while watching her husband in a match.
2. Move to Heaven
Tumblr media
This drama was inspired by the non-fiction essay “Things Left Behind” by Kim Sae Byul. He had mentioned before in an interview that he cleaned the house of a man in his 70s who died alone and was only found many weeks later. It was in the form of different and was only found many weeks later. It was in the form of different characters but an exact setting was featured in one of the episode.
3. Signal
Tumblr media
The top-rating K-Drama Signal stars Lee Je Hoon and Kim Hye Soo. The crimes shown in the series were derived from real cases in South Korea. This includes the Park Chorong Bitnari kidnapping case and also the Hwaseong serial murders that took place in Gyeonggi province.
4. Reply 1988
Tumblr media
The series of K-Drama was loved by many viewers. One of the characters from the story was inspired by a real person. Taek played by Park Bo Gum was actually inspired by a real-life Baduk player, Lee Chang Ho which won lots of local and international Baduk tournaments.
5. Crash Landing on You
Tumblr media
The writer of this drama revealed that her inspiration came from South Korean actress Jung Yang’s real-life even where the actress and her friends rose a leisure ferry boat and sail across Incheon’s shores but was swept away to the Northern Limit Line due to bad weather. The writer then proceeded to write a similar story.

One Dress a Day Challenge
July: Blue Redux (+ Green Redux)
Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (episode 7) / Ko Won-hee as Kang Ji-hwa
This is a rare example for this show of a (mostly) single-color hanbok, with the jacket and skirt both being sky-blue. Usually, they are in contrasting colors, but in this case, a bit of contrast is provided by the floral pattern of the jacket. Other small pops of color come from her ribbon and hair ornaments.
In order to make a stealth visit to her informant at a kisaeng parlor, Ji-hwa "disguises" herself by throwing a teal jacket with rose-colored lapels over her head.

I started watching Physical: 100 out of curiosity. No surprise I'm gay for every woman. The contestants were like this is very "Squid Game" when they saw the first quest. Nope, nope...
One woman was like, oh is the floor going to move out from under us, and the others we're like. Oh, you're so silly, you watch too many movies etc.
Then it did.

Bad and Crazy was a show I've been wanting to see since tiktok has been going nuts over it and honestly, maybe we should all listen to tiktok more often 🤔
Tumblr media
Not only does the drama star Lee Dong Wook and Wi Ha Joon it is also packed with so much action, it kept me at the edge of my seat for most episodes.
But before we get into it: _________
Soo-Yeol (Lee Dong-Wook) works as a police officer for the Mooui Police Department. He is competent at his job, but he also has questionable ethics. He will do anything to achieve success. Due to his ambitious personality, he has received promotions in a short period of time. His smooth life suddenly changes with the appearance of K (Wi Ha-Joon). K is a righteous person, but also a crazy person. Whenever he faces injustice, he meets it with a fist. He dreams of being a hero.
Meanwhile, Hee-Gyeom (Han Ji-Eun) works as a police lieutenant on the drug squad at the Mooui Police Department. She is also a righteous person and enthusiastic at her job. She once dated Soo-Yeol.

______________________
Cliché (for a kdrama) episodes in Bad and Crazy don't seem to cliché for this show as everything makes sense plot-wise and I absolutely loved Soo-Yeol's self realisation as well as character development.
Tumblr media
In addition, the chemistry between Lee Dong Wook and Wi Ha Joon is unimaginable (granted, they play the same character - somewhat ...) but having achieved that it makes the whole plot of the show so much better.
The audience find themselves rooting for the onscreen pairing, wanting to see more of them in action.
Tumblr media
Their comedic timing in the show was also impecable, often breaking down very tense or deep moments - allowing the audience to take a step back from an action oacked scene and take everything in with a new grain of salt.
Tumblr media
The romance was not really explored in the drama, but it was also a very nice additional surprise.

“Physical 100” has strong chunin exam energy. Really entertaining if you’re into reality shows, Ninja Warrior, or Squid Game.
Also, of all the Korean/international reality shows I’ve watched, this feels like the one that is most likely going to get an American equivalent. Good lord, just imagine the American version of “Physical 100”, it’d be “Fitness Influencer: The Series”.

My Demon (Netflix) : 1x01 & 1x02
What a nice surprise.
This Korean tv-show is really good. The story is interesting and well done.
It's honestly binge-worthy, but as it's one episode per week. It's more difficult.
The only disturbing thing is the cartoonish sounds made from time to time.
Here so quotes:
"- I wish you many years of good health, Mother. - Don't worry. I'll outlive you." (Joo Cheon-sook - Episode 1)
"- But he already gave me a present. By not showing up." (Joo Cheon-sook - Episode 1)
"- Why the long face on a happy day like this? (Do Do-hee) - It's obvious why they're celebrating me getting old. (Joo Cheon-sook - Episode 1)
"- Everyone's dying to drag me into the dogfight." (Do Do-hee - Episode 1)
"- Liars can't enter heaven. That's why I've already bribed God big time. I never miss an opportunity to donate." (Joo Cheon-sook - Episode 1)
"- If I'm a witch, you're the devil's spawn." (Do Do-hee - Episode 1)
"- So he's a jerk to everyone." (Do Do-hee - Episode 1)
"- So it was a match made in hell, not in heaven? (Episode 1)
"- You're 28 going on 30. And you'll turn 40 before you know it." (Joo Cheon-sook - Episode 1)
"- That's because it's worth it. Nothing's free in this world." (Episode 1)
"- I have lies flowing through my veines instead of blood. Business owners can't afford to be honest." (Do Do-hee - Episode 2)
"- I failed to raise my children well, so my plants are my only hope." (Joo Cheon-sook - Episode 2)
"- You shop with money, not with leisure." (Do Do-hee - Episode 2)
"- And I'll keep the inconvenient truth a secret. Some things are better left unknown, right?" (Do Do-hee - Episode 2)
"- Look at you. You said you were seriously unwell, but you're practically glowing with health." (Do Do-hee - Episode 2)

my demon
I started watching this after seeing it honestly everywhere. I think the story was set up very interestingly. Things being revealed slowly so that you don't lose interest is one of my favorite things shows can do. However, when that happens the story can get stagnant, but with this one they were able to put in plot twists in key scenes. If you ever feel like things are getting slow they pick it up with a plot twist or an unrevealed part of the past.
The characters are so enjoyable, obviously some can be frustrating but that's the point when you have antagonists. But overall I could appreciate all of the different characters.
I have to applaud Song Kang and his ability to connect with his costars. It seems that every time I watch a kdrama with him as a lead I believe he truly is in love with the other lead, and that is incredible, it makes his dramas that much more enjoyable.
I also think they were able to move from the seriousness of the story to the lighthearted romance in a successful way, since that can make a drama lose its essence when they are not able to transition between them.
The plot for this drama is interesting, but I definitely don't think it's 100% original. I ended up comparing it in ways to Doom At Your Service which I guess is why the ranking isn't as high.
The ending was good but I must say it was very predictable.
